I have been here twice now, about a year ago seeking a thrill just having a tough time with life , and on Sat I took my son for his 20th birthday , my first jump I got the video and picture package, 100% worth it , for my son's first jump I also got him the video and picture package. I however didn't feel the need to get the package for my second tandem . Both visits were amazing not only because of the experience of skydiving but the intense knowledge the instructors have to keep you and themselves safe during a tandem jump , the office staff and load out staff are amazing at keeping things rolling along but they have to deal with so much more than the public will understand. When we were there they were doing what's called a 100 way which is 100 people linking up in the sky , we got to see them 2 times while waiting for our instructors to be ready for our jump , if I could give them 10 stars I would . I can't wait to be able to take their school to get my class A license

So fun to go watch and observe jumpers packing there chutes jumping and landing. My wife has did the tandem jump and we had 2 people who were gonna jump this weekend but the wind certainly up and they suspended tandem jumps.

First visit to Eloy and for sure will not be the last. Fantastic facility with everything you need right on site, everyone I met was very friendly and full of advice. I left Eloy after a weeks skydiving a far more knowledgeable and capable skydiver!
Super easy check-in, bunkhouse is perfect, manifest is a breeze & so many loads a day, just need a second rig to do even more!
Heading back down in a few weeks to the USA’s skydiving Mecca!

Definitely a 1st Class Drop Zone, I’d highly recommend Skydive AZ to anyone looking to take a leap. Great for new and experienced jumpers. #196 was a perfect jump and had the professional experience getting us back into sport. Thanks Again Skydive AZ

This is an amazing drop zone with awesome staff working hard to keep you safe and jumping often. I always have a great time when I come here, and they make it super easy for jumpers to stay long term with the facilities.

This place is impeccable. My boyfriend and I came here almost a year ago to get our skydiving licenses - he got his in 7 days - and I am going back to Arizona soon to complete mine. The people, the aircrafts, the facilities, equipment… I can go on and on. My heart is here 🤭🫶🏼

What a rush! This was my second jump (first one in a different state) and it was just as amazing as I remember! Skydive Arizona has the whole process so streamlined - simple scheduling, smooth check-in, filling out waivers - they get you to the good stuff fast and easy. The office staff were all helpful and friendly. My instructor, Alaska, was phenomenal! He made the whole experience unforgettable. The jump staff obviously had their own jokes and routines, but they let us in on the fun, made us feel a part of their group. The videographers were also outstanding. I can't wait to go again!

Great employees and the best place for your first jump! Thank you for making my birthday so amazing!

Had great time hanging with all the cool people here. Best 30th birthday. Me and my wife was only tandem that day due to rain conditions. We paid for full package with video. We'll worth the price. The view is amazing. Voted one of the best place to jump in US and i agree. They offer classes with hight experienced instructors.
They do have an indoor ski dive area, fun for kids and learing the ropes, at a separate location.

It’s SDAZ, what needs to be said? Having food, drink and lodging in one spot makes a huge difference. Jumped with and met some great people and you can get balloon jumps on the regular through Droplyne.

We didn't jump, so can't rate that, be we had a great time watching skydivers here! Nice facility and it's really interesting / enjoyable to talk with many of the veteran skydivers here. If you're in the area, I recommend it. Also great for aviation geeks!

I was so excited to skydive here and knock another state off of my 50 states skydiving bucket list. This is a massive drop zone with plenty of room. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately this drop zone is not friendly for new fun jumpers. It is not intuitive where you need to go or what you need to do. They have you check in at the office then go to manifest but if you need to rent a parachute you need to go to a third party which charges ridiculous rates. Thankfully they do rentals with their student gear.
A few of the staff treated myself and my friend fairly poorly and it was not received well. I was not happy about being tossed back and forth between several different buildings either.

More fun and exciting than expected and many sky divers were in Halloween spirit and the Dutch military were also there that day
Sonia Powers — Google review
This place and these people are amazing. Was my first time, and I was much more terrified then your average first timer, to say the least. Steffen and John were phenomenal, extremely funny, and well trained. This was a life changing experience, WHEN I go again it will only be here. The higher you jump the safer you are. Lets go!
Tumbleweed Park is a beautiful recreational area that boasts of numerous tennis courts, a well-maintained recreation center, and an exciting themed playground. The park also features several picnic areas, rest spots, and walking trails that offer hours of leisurely strolls. Additionally, visitors can enjoy team plays on the massive stadium-sized fields or take advantage of the excellent gym facilities available in the TRC building.
A very happening place. A perfect park for all age kids to play around. Ramada’s (requires prior reservation) around play area are great to celebrate bday and have family get together events. Has plenty of parking space!
Bharatesh Chakravarthi — Google review
Clean park with many amenities. Went with kid on a field trip here. Huge jungle gym outside to play and run around. Many covered eating areas. Looks great for birthday parties. There's tons of fields and space. This park goes on forever. Did not get a chance to visit the rec center. The walking path, or dirt path looks great to run outside. Restrooms were clean enough for outdoors. Would visit again.

Tumbleweed Park is our small piece of serenity in bustling Chandler. My family and I enjoy the expansive green space for picnics, baseball games, and its playground is my youngest's favorite. Its annual Ostrich Festival is a hit with everyone.
Roger Allen — Google review
Literally my Nieces and nephew new favorite park so big so much to do just all around fun and beautiful views! They still beg me to go to this park just about everyday now! I had a blast with them there as well… absolutely love going when it’s not too crowded but even when it was crowded there’s still so much to do there so every kid was still very much so entertained at all times!
Dessie Gettinbanz — Google review
Tumbleweed Recreation Center in Chandler, Arizona made our family reunion truly memorable! The spacious and well-maintained facility provided the perfect setting for our gathering. The staff was exceptional, accommodating all our needs and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
The variety of activities available kept everyone entertained, from the state-of-the-art sports courts to the swimming pools and fitness center. The kids had a blast in the dedicated play areas, while the adults enjoyed friendly competitions on the courts.
The recreation center's picnic areas and outdoor spaces were ideal for our family barbecue, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful weather and spend quality time together. The well-equipped kitchen and seating areas made it convenient for us to organize meals and socialize.
The staff even helped us coordinate additional amenities like audiovisual equipment and extra tables for our group. Their attention to detail and friendly assistance made the event stress-free and enjoyable.
If you're planning a family reunion or gathering, I highly recommend Tumbleweed Recreation Center. The excellent facilities, accommodating staff, and wide array of activities will ensure a memorable experience for all.

It's really big and well maintained. It has multi-use fields, shaded playgrounds, tennis and volleyball courts, restrooms, and walking trails. I have been to many picnics over the years under the large shaded pavilion. The Tumbleweed Recreation Center is also located here for local Chandler residents.

This was my first visit to the park and I was amazed to see such a lush green lawn during the summer. No doubt that this place is maintained very well. Has good spots to have food with friends and family, a covered play area for the kids, and an ample amount of parking space.
This is one of those places in Phoenix where I would definitely be going back again.

Beautiful park, many picnic areas across the park, and rest areas. You can spend the evening with your family easily or plan for a team play. Nicely maintained walking trails around the park, I think you can keep walking for hours 😃. There is huge play area for kids and also a huge picking area. The TRC building is in the same areas, which has gym on upper level and activity areas in lower level. My dog loves to walk I this park. This park also has tennis courts, several huge stadium size fields, see the pictures.
Pranav Sanghadia — Google review
Good for morning walks/jogs around the park. Lots of grass, decent amount of trees for shade. Lots of trash bins. Good parking. Seems to be well maintained. A large kids playground.
Doggy stations had grocery bags and were sparse. Did not see any doggy water fountains.
Cross country team sometimes shows up at the park for training. Various other events are scheduled at the park from time to time.

We only played on the toys and did not check out the bathrooms. They have a very large, barnyard themed play area for kids of all ages. The 5-12 yr old climbing toy is massive and definitely warrants a visit for active imaginative kids. There was plenty of covered area to protect from sun or rain. We will be back for sure.
Rose Andersen — Google review
This park is HUGE. It has every activity you could possibly imagine. Playtopia is the main area of the park for smaller children and there are separate areas for kids under 5. They have plenty of rentable ramadas for birthdays or other events. The main Ramada is large enough to host corporate events/weddings and baby showers.
They also have pickleball courts, volleyball, handball etc.
Unbelievable collection of bronze art, paintings, baskets, wood and stone sculptures, jewelry etc. It was absolutely fantastic.

The Eddie Basha collection was amazing. Spent 2 hours there and could easily spent twice that. Southwestern art, maybe American art, ceramics, bronze castings, baskets. And most had an interesting story to go with it. And best of all - FREE!
Ryan Hetzer — Google review
A spectacular collection. We've enjoyed it for years. Too bad the collection couldn't be kept together. We would have loved to see an Eddie Basha Museum here in Chandler. We loved Eddie, and he loved his community. I'm glad that most of the collection will still be enjoyed here in AZ. Thank you, Eddie

A very unique and extensive collection of painted and woven art and guns and sculpture. Loved it.
Matthew Hobbs — Google review
Free entry when I have been there. By donation.
.Really cool museum/art gallery. Many detailed paintings. Mostly on history of The West.
If you are aware of the fur trade, Hudson Bay Co. , the Metis, the Red River Colony. You will enjoy slowly looking at paintings.
Many old handguns on display.
If you don't care for history at all, you may not find this place too exciting.
Owner i think has sold business? But I think museum collection will stay or be relocated.? This place is in Chandler - Phoenix.
I am Canadian, so not up to date on local info.

Truly unbelievable and concentrated collection of western art, mainly presenting art from The Cowboy Artists of America. Free to attend (thank you Basha family). Unfortunately, the museum will be closing permanently on November 30th 2023 so if you have any interest in seeing art of the west, then get there fast before it's broken up.
Chuck Northrop — Google review
Impressive, beautiful, and extensive collection of art and items related to Western American History and Native culture. Because many of the works are by contemporary artists, you also get insight into their lives and creative process in addition to learning about the historical scenes depicted in the artwork. I would recommend 2-4 hours here. I’m so glad I visited!

Outstanding exhibit of native American history! Quite an extensive collection.

I've lived in Chandler for 30 years and never knew of this hidden gem. A very nice collection of western art (paintings, sculpture, drawings, etc.) by the Basha family. Free admission, but remember to leave a donation. All 5 in my party enjoyed the museum and found one or 2 new artists to follow. Highly recommended.

Fabulous collection from a lifetime of trading with the tribes of the Southwest by Eddie Basha. It's closing down in a few weeks, and that is a great shame. The Heard Museum will only be able to display a little at a time.
John Rauh — Google review
The collection is nothing less than spectacular. It is sad and happy that this collection is being donated to the Heard Museum and the Western Spirit, Scottsdale Museum of Western Art. So, the collection will remain available to see and in the hands of two prestigious guardians of art, culture, and our history.
Pat Krueger — Google review
Unfortunately, it closed the day after we got there. The collection will be divided between the Heard and the Museum of the SW in Scottsdale.

Stunning pieces of artwork that Eddie Basha acquired. I believe around 3000 pieces! Free admission and so impressed with the quality and displays!

They received permission to be open 2 or 3 more days. Call, confirm and go Monday or miss out on an excellent opportunity.
The tour was great. It took about an hour.
You start the experience by walking around their museum and gift shop. Towards the back of the room is the mess hall, where you can get ice cream (8 flavors to choose from), hot dogs and pretzels. Don't expect a great dining experience, but it is fun.
I wish there was a place here to buy their products. They sell small milks... but nothing else. I have never seen their ice cream before and wanted to bring some home (yes, we had a cooler in the car) but they don't sell it unless you get it in a cone or bowl.
Amber Demeter — Google review
Fun tour with good cow jokes! Utterly amazing! Good ice cream and snack shack at the end of the tour. Those cows are out-standing in their field! Cows are great, they are curious and walk over to you.. behind the fence of course. The kiddos will love it!.

What a fun and interesting tour of Shamrock Farms near Stanfield AZ! Definitely kid-friendly, but people of all ages can enjoy and learn something new. You can purchase tickets in advance online so check-in is really fast and easy. The mostly outdoor tour is about an hour long and the 10-11 time slot is perfect if you plan to have lunch there too. They serve a hotdog lunch with variety of Shamrock milk and ice cream available. The cost of lunch is very affordable for families with kids. You’ll also want to visit the gift shop while you are there! They sell a variety of Shamrock merchandise for adults and kids, including clothes, stuffed animals, and other fun stuff!
Michelle Jacobs — Google review
It was okay, not what I thought it would be. Kids couldn't play on the playground area until the tour started and we're only allowed to play for a few mins before the lady blew the whistle. Overall I'm not sure what to expect but it was an okay tour.

I know a thing or two about milk cows as have uncles in Minnesota that raised crops and had milk cows. Cows very smart actually and know their pecking place when enter stalls, know when time to get milked. Tour was very informative especially on the large scale presented to us. Great time, very good tour. Recommend it for kids/families visiting AZ grand parents for a nice day outing.
Mark Mindrum — Google review
We did the tour with my wife and almost 2 year old. My daughter wasn't old enough to understand everything but still enjoyed the playground and baby cows at the end. (She also loved the strawberry milk). The area itself is beautiful. The main barn gift shop was fantastic with VERY affordable items for purchase. The farm is very clean and well taken care of. The staff was extremely helpful, from booking the reservation to asking questions during the tour. Every person I spoke to had excellent knowledge of the operation and clearly took great pride in what they do. I learned a LOT - they made a dairy farm tour one of my favorite family outings.

Great tour of the dairy farm, was really surprised about how nice the facilities are compared to other dairy farms we've been to and driven by. Kids loved it, would definitely recommend. Only wish we could tie the processing plant in Phoenix.
The Arizona Science Center is an amazing place that can excite anyone in the science world! It has a huge planetarium, dozens of exhibits, and a 4-story IMAX theater. It's located in downtown Phoenix in the Heritage and Science Park, and it's one of the citys most popular attractions.
Anytime I travel will always visit the science center, and this ONE is definitely worth seeing! With over 300 hands on interactive exhibits, there is bound to be something interesting for you, your family, and everyone else!
We were lucky enough to see the spider 🕷 exhibit! It was super scary though 😅
It took about 1.5-2 hours to get through the entire museum! Give yourself enough time to experience everything!
Peep 👀 the photos for some scary spiders 🕷
Annabelle Veatch — Google review
The science center wasn’t bad but they were way too many rough public school students pushing their way across the exhibits. they needed a little more activities for toddlers and kids up to age 5. I feel like they should have a special time that field trip students come through so that they are not mowing over the other paid guests. it was a little difficult to find the parking garage but once we did parking was easy and it was only three dollars. I gave it three stars because it needed more interactive activities for young children. The security guards were sweet and they were excellent at doing their jobs. The security guards were so nice they even directed people and told them where to go to get safely to the garage.
Jeannie Jones Spagirl — Google review
Not all science centers are the same! This one is incredible with how many exhibits and hands-on activities it has. There are 3 parking garages around the science center. Families with small children will have so much fun, but so will tweens and teens! This is a 4 level science center with an option of using an elevator or stairs. Each level has a restroom and water station. There is a live demonstration on Level 2, which was super informative! Adult ticket prices are $15 after 1 pm for a limited time (the website didn't specify when this would expire so call ahead). Highly recommended!

What a fun place for kids of all ages. I especially enjoyed the Arctic movie. The multi mead is is awesome and you really feel like your in the Arctic. The exhibits are very interesting and informative. Give yourself sufficient time to see all of them.

The Arizona Science Center is truly a gem, offering the best hands-on experience in the world of art and science. My kids and I recently visited and were blown away by the wide variety of exhibits and activities available.
As soon as we walked through the doors, we were greeted by the cheerful and knowledgeable staff, who were more than happy to answer any questions we had. They were patient and engaging, truly making the experience more interactive and enjoyable for all of us.
The kids were in awe of the intricate details and creativity of these sculptures, and they even had the opportunity to engage in their own creations at the accompanying activity station.
Next, we headed over to the "Your Brain" exhibit, which was full of interactive displays and games that taught us about the different functions of the brain. The kids loved learning about how the brain processes information and controls the body, and they were fascinated by the virtual reality experiences that allowed them to see how the brain perceives the world around us.
Overall, the Arizona Science Center was an absolute delight for the whole family. The kids were full of wonder and laughter as they explored all of the exciting and engaging exhibits, and I have no doubt that they will be begging to come back again soon. If you're in the Phoenix area and looking for a fun and educational outing, the Arizona Science Center is definitely the place to be!
Anna Thundergun — Google review
Feels like it hasn't been updated in 20 years. Many non-working interactive displays. Mostly geared toward little kids. Many other metro areas have better science centers.
Matt Skeels — Google review
Took the kids here this past weekend and the loved it! They are teenagers and adults by the way lol 😆 It was nice to just experience something different. The only downside was having to pay for extra rooms in order to get in and explore the other rooms😩 But we still had a great time, you will need at least 2 hours to explore everything and take your time.

Beautification is defensible one of the most amazing visual art piece that I have ever seen. It is is just amazing! Highly recommended. Music is fantastic and the visuals are even better. Parking is so easy and staff is so friendly. Of course there are other spaces to visit as well.

$20 for non-members.
The science museum is part of Heritage Park (among other buildings such as Phoenix Museum of History).
The Establishment offers a wide variety of science activities for children and adults- the function of electricity, the biology of the human body, music & sound, and a gift shop! Cleanest bathrooms as well I have seen so great job staff
About 1/3 of the interactive stops/activities weren't working so that was a bummer. Museum definitely needs an upgrade.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 Fun experience fit everyone!

Not worth the price.
I was disappointed to see that over the last decade they haven’t changed this place at all. Sure there are different pop up exhibits on the upper floor but that cost additional. It’s all the same exhibits and they are pretty mediocre. With all the amazing advancements in science and technology I expect more out of a science museum.
definitely don’t recommend this museum for kids under 5 it’s not engaging for that age group. I paid 75 dollars and my kiddo was ready to leave about 30 mins in. We go to the children’s museum or the idea museum in mesa and are entertained for hours. I have no doubt if they received more funding and changed the exhibits it could be amazing however we won’t be going back anytime soon.

We truly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it to others, the only downside is with a large family like ours the price of admission is quite steep. (4 adults & 4 children)

tl;dr-
+ Won't regret taking your kid or yourself there
+ For all ages
+ Can touch almost everything
+ Sooo many STEM concepts in action
+ Free live demonstrations
+ Bubbles!... And farts!
- of course some exhibits are dated or broken, but to be expected of such a hands-on place.
Any kid, of any age would have a blast here, including adult-sized kids too! Most helpful is that this is appropriately called a science center, which is NOT a museum. You can touch or manipulate or crawl on almost everything (signs tell you which exhibits are not to be kid-handled). There's something for every sensory type (you can definitely find pockets of quiet on weekdays, but you can also find multiple school groups).
This place has been educating and entertaining for decades, and a few exhibits show the age, but not sure folks understand the maintenance and money required to keep a science center up-to-date. This place does more than a solid job of making complex topics, like space exploration, accessible to non-science folks, while offering deeper dives for us nerds.
Personal favorites of mine and the little one were the stomach slide where you fart yourself out, and the bubble courtyard. And the 3rd floor has a rotating exhibit, so there's always something to see.
PRO TIP: becoming a member here gives you access to hundreds of other science and technology centers via ASTC reciprocity.

So many different activities for kids of all ages. Snow week was amazing! For lunch, Que Sazon is in the same courtyard and delicious!

Wonderful place. The exhibits are fun and entertaining. Spent about 3 hours here and it was great! The Expedition: Solar System Planetarium thing was fun! It can get cold in there tho. There's a fun bubble exhibit thing (outdoor) and it looked fun (we didn't go) coz the kids (other Ppl's) looked like they were having a blast. A lot of interactive exhibits and even a love show/experiment/showcase. Definitely entertaining for both kids and adults. The bike thing was closed so we didn't get to try.
KChin — Google review
This place is incredible! 👍 Every exhibit seems to be interactive and challenges the kids to think while still having fun and laughing and playing. 😋 Every parent should take their kids here. 😉 There's actually not enough time in a day to see and interact with every science exhibit. 😊
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 😁🤙
Vin M — Google review
This review hurts to write because I want the science center to be enjoyed by others and receive more funding however I cannot recommend paying to visit currently. The exhibits were not well maintained, the amount of stuff to do was very lacking and it just was not an entertaining time sadly. I would love to see more funding to make this place awesome and fun to visit but it is very far from that currently. I would look at the childrens museum for younger kids and for older kids maybe the Legoland discovery center.
Derek — Google review
It's not a bad place to take your kid to, but by pre teen years most of the exhibits are not really advanced enough to keep their attention. I went here with my kid about 5 years ago and almost all the exhibits are exactly the same. Like I said it's not bad, but we left wishing for more. To be fair, the planetarium was closed, so that took a lot away from the day for us. When it's open, that helps make things more interesting.
Chase Field is a sports stadium in downtown Phoenix that is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks and also hosts other major sporting events and concerts. The stadium has a retractable roof that can be configured for different sports, and it's one of the largest in the United States.
Great venue and employees. Fun stadium to visit. If and when they start, there use to be a nice tour of it. Recently watched a football bowl game there. The upper deck was actually a nice view, but don't go above row 25, if you are over 35.

Fantastic experience at the Ballpark! Great view. Fabulous drinks. Tipped up the elevator to see the new bar n grill, Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers, and it is incredible. $25 and $50 seats give you a view of the game plus a meal. Definitely recommend

I have been to this stadium for Dbacks games and the world baseball classic and I enjoyed both. I like that this venue has a great atmosphere outside the building before you even get to the game. Inside the views are amazing and the seats are great. The food and drink was also very well done, I will give it a 8.1/10. One thing I really like is the batters eye area with the massive scoreboard. If you are in the area don’t pass up going to a game here.
Myles Smith — Google review
A great stadium when it comes to viewing the game, access to food and drinks, and parking located all around the stadium. What I didn't like when comparing to many other MLB stadiums/parks is that it is an indoor park/stadium and is warm during the game. Even if the roof is open you'll only have a view of the sky unlike other stadiums/parks with views of the surrounding city, mountains. I do love the ability to access any part of the park/stadium. Great views from the outfield walkabout.

May 2024 review: Was in Phoenix for a work conference and was able to catch a Diamondbacks vs Padres game! Chase Field is a beautiful ballpark with a lot of great views. Prices for hot dogs and a soda was reasonable (compared to my home ballpark of Fenway!).
I wish they’d show replays of the game on the scoreboard, but maybe that doesn’t happen at baseball games anymore due to coach’s challenges? Not sure.
Pro-tip if it’s an early season game and not a sellout crowd: If you’re in town and catch a Diamondbacks game, purchase a cheap ticket and work your way down to better seating!
Logan — Google review
This was my first time visiting Chase Field. The venue is very beautiful on the inside. Every seat provides you with an amazing view. There were plenty of events happening throughout the game. The only thing that kept this place from being a five star is the price of food at the concessions. I purchased two meals at Chic fil and the cost was $42. I'm talking about one chicken sandwich, 8 piece chicken nuggets, one order of fries and two regular soft drinks. Just my thoughts.

This review is for the tour. It was awesome! Definitely recommend this to everyone, well worth it even if you are not a baseball fan. You get to go through the places not accessible normally. Make to get Kevin as your guide. He was informative and a great sense of humor.

First time there in years. Sat in 2nd row of upper deck, and that was a fantastic experience with a great view. It was 112 degrees outside, but perfect temperature (maybe 72, definitely not cold or hot) inside. Only complaint might be that the food lines were very long until late in the game. Easy to enter and leave. Parked a few blocks away for $30. Overall it was a great time!

Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, is a true marvel in the world of baseball stadiums. I recently took a tour and was thoroughly impressed by the insights gained into its inner workings. The tour was exceptionally worthwhile, granting access to areas typically off-limits to fans. The stadium's beauty is undeniable, especially considering its 26-year age; it maintains a timeless allure.
Attending two games, one with the roof closed during the daytime and another with it open at night, offered contrasting but equally breathtaking experiences. The versatility of the stadium, accommodating various weather conditions seamlessly, is truly impressive.
The iconic pool adds a unique touch to the stadium, offering an expensive yet unforgettable way to enjoy a baseball game. And let's not overlook the value beers available at the team food stops, enhancing the overall experience for fans. Chase Field undoubtedly stands as a testament to innovation and longevity in the world of sports venues.

Very nice stadium. Came here for a cubs/D-backs game and got a good tan from the game. Came in an Uber so not sure on parking but make sure if you bring a lady, that her purse be the size of her phone. They have lockers to rent but they are real sticklers on the bags.

I had the chance to attend an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game at Chase Field in Phoenix. This is the first baseball game I've been to in quite some time. The entire Chase stadium is very nice on the inside. We sat in the Home Run porch seats beyond right field, which gave us a good view of the game and easy access to the nearby restaurants. The stadium has a rather wide assortment of places to get food and beverages. We were also lucky to be able to order a few free items and have them delivered to us, although that isn't available everywhere. The staff was friendly and attentive, the game was good, and the stadium is in excellent condition.

Chase Field is a very nice stadium! The temperature outside was over 90 degrees but with the roof closed and air conditioning, it felt like it was in the 70’s. They have lots of different food options, including value menu items that don’t break your wallet (including hot dogs, corn dogs, popcorn and sodas). It was fun to see an actual pool inside the stadium, that apparently can be reserved only by large parties.

it’s been a long time since I’ve been to a baseball game and chase field was very awesome especially outside the stadium. There are plenty of places to drink, eat and just pregame before he entered and paid the big bucks. I did like the hotdog as my father-in-law did as you can see in the picture, he really really enjoyed that one my son and my brother-in-law we also had an awesome time. If you’re trying to save, I would pregame outside and have a couple drinks at the game but there’s nothing better than an old fashion, American baseball experience.

We thankfully went on a night the roof was open and I have to say the stadium is beautiful. If the roof had been closed it might have felt a little claustrophobic but last night was not the case. Pretty decent beer selection, great food, and lots of opportunities for families/children to experience the game. The tickets were fairly priced and I felt like we had great seats to experience the game. Would recommend!

Arrived two hours early so spent some time at the cheeseburgers and brew house. You can enter without a ticket, have a meal and then watch some of the game. With a ticket you can have a meal, watch the people stream in and then go find your assigned seat. I found parking just across the street. 20 dollars. I didn't buy a lot from the consessions. Bottles of water are 7 dollars. I can't even imagine what actual food would cost. Eat before you come of you are price conscious. Otherwise there is a huge variety of food items and everything looked and smelled great. Event staff was welcoming upon entry. Helpful in locating our seats. Fun activities in between innings and the organ interludes were wonderful. Overall a good event center. Love the new pitch clock as well. Speeds up the game.

Diamondbacks VS Reds game 8/26/23 section 133 row 2 seat 20.
It was my first MLB game.
Chase field is a nice stadium, and it is definitely a plus that the roof is not open, so the sun/heat is not beating down on everyone during early games.
The game was very close. Diamondbacks were winning until the last inning and allowed the Reds to catch up. The game went to extra innings and ended up having 11 innings. The stadium is pretty large. Concessions are pricey, approx $10 for a fountain drink, and approx $16 for a beer with a tip round up to approx $19-20. Scoop of ice cream In a waffle bowl is $10.
Team shop inside had a great deal for 2 for $15 on mini bats/foam fingers.
Nice stadium and great overall first-time experience.

Need to replace the jumbo TV
Worlds Series 2023 game 5, sad to see the Diamonds backs lose. Still a great experience
Lots of food choices in the park
A gambling place is just outside the park.

I’ve been to this stadium a couple of times. All only to take in an Arizona Diamondbacks game. This is by far one of the nicest, coolest, and funniest stadiums in the league. The food options, the crowd involvement, the views, the activities, and the atmosphere are all amazing!!! The field is nice, the jumbo screen is great and well... we all can agree that a pool in the center field is pretty dang awesome! If you’ve never caught a game here, I suggest you do so soon, especially a game against the dodgers or giants. Those games are absolutely loud and great to be a part of. Go, DBacks!!!

I love this place. There was bark in the park, on the day I attended. I was very impressed with the enormous variety of food/beverage vendors making it possible for every diet to grab a snack or meal. They even offered items I would have never expected and satisfied a current craving. The game was exciting and my seats were spectacular. We all have a preference and behind the batters plate is mine. I felt like I was in the game and I was hoping to catch a pop fly. Unfortunately, I wasn't granted this opportunity. They went to my left and to my right but I was ready 😁. Thank you for the experience.

Wonderful place to watch a ballgame to begin with, and with the team coming off a World Series appearance the atmosphere has been nothing short of electric to start the 2024 campaign! The new scoreboard looks great, and I love the new LED lights they put in! Also, Firework Fridays are incredible as always! GO DBACKS!!!

Visited to watch the Yankees play the Diamonbacks. Beautiful park with a retractable roof, which was open for the game. One suggestion is to have something to eat and drink before going to the park. Prices in stadium for concessions are as expensive as Yankee Stadium. However very much enjoyed the experience.

3rd time here for games 2 of them were Yankees-D-Backs games. I had a fantastic seat in the from row of section 301. Spectacular views of the entire field! Able to see everything ! Easy to get there and home on the light rail. I'll be back for another game soon!

Came here for the Diamondbacks opening day game versus the Rockies. 5 stars for the team and the historic 3rd inning of 14 runs with 18 batters sent to the plate. 2 stars for the stadium and the cold food being served to customers at Taste of Chase. I ordered a steak sandwich which had cold provolone with barely warm steak and onions. The meat and onions weren't hot enough to even melt the video. The food served is bordering on a health code violation for not being hot enough.

Great concert. Good acoustics and comfortable seats. But the entry procedure ^was really slow. Checking for? People were still in line when the show started. Over priced drinks! They were out of premium so they charged premium price for well brand drinks. This is a ball park designed for 40K people not a concrete venue with 60K. So inadequate bathrooms, parking, concessions, etc. But still a great concert

Had a blast, line moves fast, staff are friendly. Everything is over priced but thats what you get coming to a stadium. Had a fun time overall would rate it a 5 but those prices are killer a simple beer cost 20$ and the food isn't worth the cost, other than that it was a great experience
The Heard Museum is a world-renowned museum that specializes in Native American art. The museum's collections reflect the crossing of indigenous cultures with other artistic themes, and its exhibitions present stories from a first perspective. The Heard Museum is dedicated to advancing understanding of American Indian culture through its exhibits, education programs, and festivals.
Everyone who lives in or visits the Phoenix area should visit the Heard Museum. It’s a beautifully designed and well curated collection of Native American artwork and is breathtaking. But it is not just an art museum because it is also a history museum and there is much to take in and learn. It’s quiet and peaceful, and very large so it will take some time to see everything. There are galleries and courtyards, and just when you think there is nothing more to see you will turn a corner and have another gallery to visit. I loved the museum and will return.

This museum is an absolute beautiful addition to our city. Learn about the historical Southwest while touring this beautiful property for 2-3 hours. Experience and learn about the American Indian heritage with all its history .The silver and weaving exhibits, art work, garden sculptures and architecture of the property are outstanding as well as special exhibits . A great day for the out of town visitor and locals alike.
Beautiful for all ages.
Parking is easy and staff is kind and welcoming .

This place is awesome. It seems a very important purpose in making sure the USA's horrific treatment of the indigenous people here and in other states. They also had an amazing exhibit that ended on Hawaiian surf culture.

I've been to a lot of museums in my short 37yrs in life and I must say, this is the best one that I've had the honor and privilege to step foot in. The art, the details, the information are all priceless and must be preserve forever. I also had lunch at the cafe and the food was delicious, their Birria tacos were probably the best I've had in a long time. Would I come back and bring family and friends who visits from out of town? Hell yeah! It is worth it and this is a gem in the city of Phoenix.

I went to the Heard Museum as a part of a catered event, and I was amazed! While that means that I can't say anything about the wait times, lines, or costs of entry; or even the quality of the tours and tour guides - I can comfortably say that, aside from being a gorgeous building, the Heard Museum is home to unforgettable displays (I didn't see some of the displays), helpful staff, alongside some of the best event management (read: catering) that I've experienced at an event in a long time. All in all, I'd gladly visit again!

Beautiful, educational Native American museum. There is so much art on display and it’s fantastic to see all of the examples of Indigenous talent. There is a display that shows the impact of Residential/Boarding Schools and Manifest Destiny. As a Native American, This is so eye-opening and infuriating at the same time. It was by far the most impactful things we saw while there and I recommend everyone check it out. If you’re a registered tribal member, you get free admission into the museum.

The Heard Museum is a well done museum that you should visit at least once.
The museum is well designed, the exhibits are laid out in a manner that allows for easy viewing. The exhibit spaces and grounds are well kept and look spectacular.
There is a large collection of artwork, jewelry, and other artifacts that speak to the history of Native Americans.
The Indian school exhibit details the history, both good and bad, of boarding schools for native children. It is an interesting and educational look at the history of our country.

A one of a kind museum of native American people. If you are interested in their culture and history, this is a must stop. The gift shop is a marvel of native arts and jewelry. Prices are high but you have confidence that the pieces are real. It's worth just coming for the gift shop alone.

The interior and exterior are very pretty. The tickets are around 25 dollars person but you can get in for free if you’re indigenous. You can also get a good military or student discount. This pace was definitely worth the money I spent. I will be coming back to it. I think this is definitely a must see if you go to Phoenix, Arizona. They also have a nice gift shop, coffee shop, and book store.
Dennis Nguyen — Google review
Very nice museum but we didn't have much time to see all of it. The lady that sold us the tickets told us that the 2 hours we had before they closed was enough time to see it and it really wasn't. Why they close at 4pm I have no idea. That was insanely early to close. Most museums are open until at least 5 or 6pm. They should consider extending hours. Also there was not a single affordable thing in the gift shop and I was sorely disappointed. All the beautiful items were hundreds if not thousands of dollars. First time I left a gift shop disappointed. Please include some nice Native American items that normal people can afford. Other than that we enjoyed what we were able to see. Would go back if we had more time...

I went on a Saturday. It was Super Bowl day the street was busy with people showing off team pride. No absolutely No water bottle of any kind you must check your water at the front desk. It was my first time here I spent a lot of time looking at Indian school experience the museum is vast and I didn’t get enjoy everything because I had munchies. If you go I recommend bringing a snickers or peanuts or something. I am going back to the Heard museum and I’m going to make sure I start with the Native American artifacts first.

If you want to learn about Native American history, this is the place. Lots of exhibits. Downtown Phoenix location is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. While you can view the exhibits on your own, taking a tour with a docent helps the history come alive. And, there is a Cafe and gift shop, too. Certainly a must do experience when in the Valley of the Sun.

it has both indoor galleries and outdoor sculpture gardens. It was so beautiful and had the cutest outdoor cafe to eat afterward. We also got to enjoy the Sky Dome in the Substance of Stars exhibit! Overall a very moving experience and I learned so much about the different native American tribes and their culture. The stories about the boarding schools was heartbreaking.

This museum has lots of art from many tribes in the southwest - the Hopi, Navajo, Zuni, Apache, etc. I especially loved the pottery, some of which is over 1000 years old and made using the coil and scrape method. We had a wonderful guide (Christine) who was passionate and knowledgeable. The museum is laid out well and has an open courtyard, outdoor sculptures, a fantastic store, and a small cafe. It is absolutely worth a visit.

Really educational place that after highlighting the many skills of the Indigenous people that were based in America when the English arrived, ends up addressing the attempted indoctrination of Native Americans in the 1800’s. Doesn’t touch on the persecution of them enough, barely brushing past that they were ‘lost’ as opposed to nearly wiped out. Nice experience.

This place was great and I love the galleries. I learned more than I knew before I came in and it was very interesting. Being Native American, it was free and you just needed to have a photo of your CIB(Navajo). The staff had great attitudes, were very approaching if we had questions, and were very nice. I would definitely go here again but try the tour. The tour guide seemed very nice, knowledgeable, and asked me how my visit was although I didn't do the tour. Would definitely recommend if you're interested in different Native American cultures.

Thanks to my younger son (5th grader) who asked us to visit Heard Museum this weekend. It was an amazing trip to this one of its kind museum which is dedicated to tell about history and present culture of Native American tribes of this region and across US. I realized how rich their culture, art and traditions have been and what difficulties they have faced over last couple of centuries to protect themselves and their culture from outside forces. I knew a very little until this trip.
We were blessed to be guided by a noble lady (sorry forgot her name) who made it a richer experience for our whole family.
We surely going to visit it again.

Last minute decision to visit as I needed to kill time before heading to the airport. Glad I stopped in to check it out.
Excellent museum with lots of Native American art. I love sculpture art and there was a lot of that too. Discovered another artist whose work was gorgeous. I was hoping to pick up a book of her work but there wasn't anything in the book store. There is also a a museum shop and a Cafe where you can get a bite to eat and sit outside in the beautiful weather.

The Phoenix Art Museum, established in 1959, is a renowned institution showcasing acclaimed international artwork from ancient times to the present. It boasts an extensive collection spanning various genres such as American, Asian, European, and Latin American art. As the largest art museum in the Southwestern United States today, it offers permanent exhibits as well as engaging traveling fashion and photography displays.
Really a great mix of artwork, plus a very interesting building to walk around! The modern section is always changing, and they have rotating exhibits too.
Their curators do an amazing job grouping various works to put them in a larger context. In the historical sections, some pieces made centuries and worlds apart are paired together in interesting juxtapositions (like an old French coat and an Alexander McQueen dress). They also create themed spaces, like putting observational drawings of women throughout the ages in a single room. This makes the work so much more interesting to view!
That being said it was a bit pricey for ticket, but I think it was worth it to spend the day there! They do have a "pay what you want" day (I believe on Wednesdays).

The museum itself is beautiful and hosts a growing collection. Some of the exhibits were more miss than hit for me, but it’s all very subjective, of course. The staff and volunteers were all exceedingly nice and helpful, very welcoming environment and I will be sure to visit again!

Beautiful art museum featuring a variety of mixed media, oil on canvas, visual arts, sculptures, and more! They rotate exhibits regularly, and host free family nights which is awesome! The staff are friendly and helpful, but the gift shop is a major letdown.
Come to think of it, some of the installations are pretty sad, and I was left thinking that literally anyone could submit their art to the curator and have a decent shot of being accepted. Sometimes I’m just left scratching my head, contemplating how/why some of these pieces got accepted.

I went to their family free event and had a blast! My daughter got to create a beaded bracelet, enjoyed her time outside with the soft play area that was available, and made some arts and crafts. It was an overall great time, and the staff was super helpful.
Because of the time we went, it was super busy, so we didn't get to fully enjoy the Barbie exhibit but loved what we were able to see. They also provided lots of photo ops for everyone to enjoy.
My only issue is parking it's super limited. It's better to park elsewhere and take the light rail if you can. But with a little kid would prefer to park at the location.

This museum was very large and satiated my urge to look at art. Me and my girlfriend visited every exhibit and at the last exhibit we just had a quick glance at each of the pieces because we had been there and mostly standing for a very long time! We had a quick drink in the cafe outside and we felt very refreshed. The collection is very expansive and impressive.

The standing exhibits of the museum, especially the European section, are sparse, especially if you travel a lot, but the modern section, the local art, and the special exhibits are worth a 2 hr visit. Not very child friendly, all no touch areas and no scavenger hunt or other kid specific activities that I found on my visit. They have a kids museum guide, but it only features 5 pieces of art in it. It would be great if they expanded this. Entry is free for the military and their families, which was appreciated.

I went with my aunt and my son and we all had a really great time. The exhibits were beautiful and deep. The staff was friendly and the facilities were clean. My only reason behind the 4 star review is they let us wait in line for the butterfly exhibit and then cut the line off just as we were getting to the front. It would have been nicer for them to have cut it off earlier.

Its extensive and diverse collection spans a wide range of artistic genres and time periods, making it a captivating destination for art lovers and curious minds. What's particularly noteworthy is the opportunity for Bank of America cardholders to enjoy free admission during the first weekend of every month, making art accessible to a broader audience.
Overall, the Phoenix Art Museum is a dynamic hub for artistic exploration and cultural enrichment. With its multi-floor layout, diverse artworks, and the generous free admission offer, it easily earns a 5/5 rating. Whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or simply seeking a cultural adventure, this museum is a must-visit in Phoenix.

As a collector and content creator for Fashion Dolls - Barbie to Dawn on Facebook, I was thrilled to visit the Phoenix Art Museum's special exhibit Barbie: a cultural icon. As a woman who grew up playing with Barbie, it was a treat seeing all of the vintage clothing and dolls on display. Two of my adult daughters, who have one daughter each, joined me for the tour. It was definitely worth my time. The gift shop was appropriately stocked with Barbie dolls which made excellent souvenirs for my granddaughters. I also picked up a pink Barbie exhibit hat and two books which fit nicely into my content creator and collecting activities. I definitely recommend seeing this exhibit before it is gone in June 2024.

Beautiful museum, lots to see and do, kid friendly with activities for children 0-5 (check website) and wonderful for older children as well. My little completed a scavenger hunt while there and was able to ask the docents questions. They seem to have some spaces under construction and a key exhibit we wanted to see (the reason for our trip, a butterfly exhibit) was down the entire time we were there, so we were unable to see it. They have scheduled tours (check the lobby for times). The gift shop has a variety of gifts at various price points.

If you love art, it’s worth a visit once. Cover several floors and several wings, you could easily spend an hour or two wandering. They have modern art, old art, and even a small sculpture garden. The building itself is a work of art.
Coming from D.C. where we have world class museums for free, the $25 entrance fee was a tough pill to swallow. Worth it once.

One of the best museums I’ve been to based on the expansive variety of art pieces: from acclaimed contemporary artists to the Old Masters, something great for everyone. I had so much fun, the time flew and I easily spent the whole day here. They have Rothko, Monet, Yayoi, Picasso, Maya Lin, Cornelia Parker, Kehinde Wiley, among many others.
There are special exhibits, the current ones include Barbie (more interesting than expected), Thorne Rooms which provide a glimpse into miniature replicas of historical rooms (scale 1:12). And much more.
They have free guided tours as well, with the entrance ticket, which is well worth it!
Outdoor, they have a sculpture garden. Indoors, they have a fashion display curated by an in house fashion curator.
Something for everyone!

In all fairness, I just visited two other art museums in DC and Milwaukee. Personally, I found them both to be superior. I love this specific park. It has a few different trails. The one I hike I wouldn’t necessarily say is good for bike riding because of all of the rocks but it is a nice place for an early morning hike while the air is still fresh. It is a pretty steep hike, but I love it. I’m not sure of the surrounding trails because I haven’t hiked them.. There’s quite a few people that hike this trail and area most of the time, so it’s not exactly lonely.. but I would recommend going with at least one friend because it does extend pretty far away from help if you needed it. If you had to scream even other hikers may not even hear you depending on the distance you were apart. Make sure to take plenty of water because the heat warms it up pretty quickly. I would recommend a thermos cup and a light backpack to carry your important items. The view is gorgeous and it’s so serene and peaceful on the trail and once you reach the top. Enjoy.

We walked the Judith Tunell Loop, which was paved. That was the easiest trail to find. I wish they had better directions to the different trails and staff on hand to assist. We were left to figure it out. The trail was quiet and clean. I was looking for a better experience here. I would not visit again or recommend it, unless you have someone familiar with the park and can assist you.

This mountain is worth visiting even if you only have a bit of time. There are plenty of trails to hike and get great views. You can also drive through and stop at multiple lookout points. I have not used all the trails but many of them have been easy to follow in standard active clothes. Definitely bring plenty of water, even if it isn't too hot, the temp will trick you. First time here and just stopped by because I was in the area. I wanted to take a look to see how dog friendly it was. Saw plenty of hikers with their fur babies and even a gentleman on his horse. Many different trails to choose from. Plenty of parking. I'll be returning to explore more with my pup. Whether you want to hike or mountain bike this is the place with beautiful scenery all around. I'm glad it's nearby where I live as I'll be frequenting here now to get my desert Zen.

South Mountain has everything you need to have a fun day on the mountain. If you want to have a picnic there are covered areas with grills. There’s lots of hiking trails and on this day I went up the Holbrook Trail which was a challenge with beautiful views. Along the way there are ancient pictographs which really give you a sense of how old this place really is. South Mountain can be chill to extremely challenging so make sure you are prepared and informed. All in all a great place to visit.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon, pretty much had the mountain to self.
I'd say it's a moderate hike for an experienced beginner. Def not a 'walk in the park'.
It's inclination up is manageable for someone who used to put up 8 minute miles in gym class in middle school.
It's 1.3m up and I came straight bk, the way I came. You can make it a loop by connecting it with a national trail. I may sound intelligent, but that's just what the sign says up top.
If you could, can I would bring/make a hiking stick(s) for stabilization.
And download the map at the welcome post in the parking lot. To do this, your phone camera must have that feature to scan barcodes and what have you.
Or, download the 'All Trails' hiking app for your phone.

My visit to South Mountain Park and Preserve was amazing! It's a huge, beautiful park with lots to do. I hiked on some of the trails and the views were breathtaking. The desert scenery was stunning, especially during the sunset. There were picnic areas, and I had a great lunch while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The park is also famous for its lookout points, and I could see the whole city from up there. It's a fantastic place for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. I had a wonderful time exploring and taking in the beauty of South Mountain Park.

Beautiful views, but far too busy on Christmas evening. We were not able to make it to the top for the proper views because of the traffic jam going uphill. It seemed to be quite spectacular and there are several Saguaro cactus to snap picture of along the route.

South Mountain Park is a wonderful resource for Valley residents and visitors. Some fun facts:
* SMP is the #1 largest city-owned park in the United States. Period.
* SMP has been sacred to indigenous people for centuries who called it "Greasy Mountain" after a story about the trickster coyote.
* SMP is the northernmost extent of the rare Elephant Tree (Bursera microphylla) with a few growing in the park
* Some SMP trails have been used for over 1000 years and are lined with amazing petroglyphs
* Indigenous people grew agave and maize (corn) in certain areas of south mountain beginning over 1200 years ago
Resort combining straightforward rooms & suites with a casino offering slots, table games & poker.
We like staying in the older rooms still. They are still nice and roomy. Staff is usually pretty good about helping you with whatever needs you may need. They have decent security. Decent slots, and odds. Also, we like the fact we get our rewards points, which lead to free game play, free rooms, free stays, money towards food from any of their restaurants. Its a nice place. Only thing is the location. Its so far from everything!

Rooms were beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. Wasn't crazy about the pillows too thin. Very friendly employee 's. Sasha was very friendly and helpful at the dinner banquet. Looking forward to coming back next year for the DAV convention. Or I might be back sooner. The pool was big and beautiful. Met some really nice people at the pool. The food at Copper cactus was really good. Great prices. Had a salad at the Agave best salad I ever had,it was huge. I will definitely be back to this Casino Thank You for a wonderful experience.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary, and we got a King mini suite. The room was spacious and very clean. We asked if they could make little accommodations to make it special since we were celebrating something special they stated they could not. We were kinda disappointed since we did pay a good amount of money, and this is a Resort. Other than that, it was ok.

Harrah's Ak-Chin Hotel and Casino is a very nice facility. My room was impeccably clean. I also liked the modern features that the room had. One interesting thing is that you need your room key to activate the lights in the room this has its pros and cons. Also, don't plan on trying to check in early or the hotel will charge you an extra fee. The restaurants and entertainment are very good. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I stayed here recently, it was a last minute best “cheap” hotel I could find for my day I was driving through Phoenix. I arrived super late at night, and was actually very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. It exceeded my expectations in service, cleanliness, and room upkeep👍🏼. I really expected the hotel to be much more dated and old in person. I had the luxury room in the 2 story complex with the patio. Was very large, clean, and convenient patio access to the truck. The food at the Agave’s restaurant was good too.
*Only thing I must say is their pool remodelling is ugly👎🏼. On certain pictures online, you see where there is an extension of the pool with water/stairs in between the row of palm trees. Looks very nice, and that’s what I was expecting it to look like currently. I was sure that THIS was the pool post remodelling, but no. They completely demolished that, and the pool looks like a regular pond. So, the pictures of a basic pool is actually the current look. Don’t know why they did this, but it literally made the pool area look cheaper🤷🏻♀️. Oh well, some architect really screwed up. *

The casino smoking area is tiny. Hate it! This is primarily a non smoking facility. The diamond/7 Star lounge is closed!! SO VERY DISAPPOINTING‼️
The room are nice.
Staff is very nice. Machines are tighter than a water Buffalo butt!!!
You are out in the middle of nowhere, either have a rental car or be stuck. Cabs out here are very expensive! No valet, no curbside ATTENDANTS. It is nice that you can order drinks on the
screen menu of the slot Machines. This casino has Mostly video games. Very little old school reel slots. Maybe 30 if that.
Not coming back!!

The room was nice, but there is no service. If you need anything, it is left by the door in a plastic bag. You have to ask for new towels, toilet paper and very few employees smile. The pool is okay, but they need tables. The pool side service was better on Saturday but Friday was not great. The waiters took only one order at a time so it took a long time to make it around the pool. So many rules about umbrellas. The drinks by the pool are weak. The Chop Block was delicious, and the service was very good.

The only issues I had were the hours of the gym and the restaurant. The gym opened too late for my hour of workout, and the restaurant used too much cooking oil in what was supposed to be a healthy meal. The manager did offer to correct the obvious. The room appearance and counter service were awesome. The location is outside the big city, but yet one has family entertainment, restaurants, and lounges connected to the hotel. Entertainment includes movie theater, bowling, and an arcade.

I did not stay at the hotel. I had a great time in the casino. There was a good variety of slots and tables. The best part... The majority of the casino is smoke free. There's a smoking section and the smoke filters into the rest of the casino, but it is much better than a traditional smoking casino. If I'm in the area again then I'll be stopping by.

It is a bit of a drive for me, but the rooms are great. Clean and functional, updated and in good condition. The bed is actually comfortable, and there is hot water.
The casino is fun and they have a huge variety of machines. We had some luck with a few of them, nice walking out with at least what you came in with.
Restrooms are always clean and in functional order, and they are spaced so that you don't have far to go for one.
Service: I haven't tried their restaurants, so I can't speak to those, but every employee we came in contact with was very helpful and kind.

This is a smaller Casino. It seems to be well taken care of. It was nice to see the Native American artwork and how it varies by tribe. The bartender that we had was very attentive. He recommended drinks similar to what we ordered. The gameplay at this casino seemed dull with not much activity or action. Odds seemed low and the playing floor is fairly small. There were a few quick service and full service restaurant choices. Our time there was enjoyable.

I was just giving a friend a ride but I did take a peak of the room. WOW!! This is a really, really nice resort. Other than it appeared the pool was closed, a little chilly for the pool but beautiful grounds and awesome atmosphere. I wasn't rude to ask the price for the room but knowing my friend I'd guess cheap and totally worth it! Nice views of farmland and empty desert for hundreds of feet. Not ideal of a location unless you're going this way but much like the Morongo in CA this place is surprisingly gorgeous.

This was a new way of playing bingo games. Very friendly staff very helpful. Nice big room . The game order was different but easy to follow. Session are long but move fast. The floor person can sell the extra games and bonus games at your seat . Very cool over all I enjoyed this bingo hall. I didn't win but was impressed with the pay. Higher then any I've seen. Worth the drive .

I'm sorry but I have to give this place good ratings. I'll be upfront and say that I work for Caesars Entertainment, which this part of, so there wasn't anything I found in my visit that wasn't what I expected. It is a nice location with many restaurants and other entertainment right on property. Jesse (security) who was at the door we entered greeted us with that family style method and was very cordial while talking. She was multitasking well with other guests coming in while I had her a little distracted talking about the differences between here and Las Vegas. Overall it is a very nice looking property.

We had a mid week team meeting here, clean rooms, nice bed, but pillows were way too small, fiber filled junk.
The meeting room was nice, with a quiet environment. The AV was ok, but the TV used as a presentation screen should have been bigger for the size of the room.
The food and drinks catered were very good in the meeting space.
The exterior was very nice desert scape with interesting plants and rock features.
Over enjoyed the stay.

The hotel rooms are immaculate & nicely updated. The rain head shower is large, big enough for 6 people, but worked well for just 1. :)
I’ve stayed at Harrah’s/ Caesars properties all over the country & this one is definitely in the top 5! Very nice!
Very close to shopping & dining. They even have a bowling alley & theatre on the property.
First time I’ve ever felt bad the casino didn’t make money off me.

Worst casino ever. I highly encourage everyone to pick somewhere else. The staff overall is horrible. The room was ok although I wasn't able to enjoy the experience. I have been to many casinos and if I was ever asked for a review, this one would easily be at the bottom the list without hesitation. If I had any encouragement or recommendation it would be to put your honesty, integrity, and ethics at the forefront of your operation. One of the establishments core values is integrity, and in my opinion their most important, but it was not shown during my families stay. I hope that this establishment can take a second look at their core values and operate under these values. My experience was far from ethical.

The hotel is fine, it's nice, clean, and hotel is non-smoking. Casino is about 70% non-smoking. The pillows were small..very odd. Bring a wall plug in for your charging needs, you'll have to pull out the bedside table to access a plug in. Pool is gorgeous! There is no housecleaning service under a 4 night stay, showers are huge with great water pressure. Bed was comfortable. There is a refrigerator.

Worst hotel I have ever been to. You ABSOLUTELY CANNOT check in until 4 and the bar closes at 5 with no exceptions. If you try to check in 2 minutes early, they rudely tell you to wait 2 more minutes or pay $35. Which is fine if they were not so rude. Everything closes extremely early so do not count on being outside of your room past 8pm for anything. The rooms have no microwave, tiniest fridge in the world, and plumbing is backed up. I have never once complained on any type of platform but I wholeheartedly would recommend saving your money by not spending it on this awful place. It also smells like you’re literally in the sewer. I am genuinely upset I spent $200 on this POS.

I don’t understand how this hotel gets a rating of 8 or 10. Don’t be fooled! This hotel is a dump! Understood that it’s an older casino so it doesn’t have all the newer slots like other casinos. We ordered coffee; waited an hour, coffee never came. I finally asked the sever, who came to my playing area twice but never brought our drinks, why. She immediately said that there were only 2 servers and they can’t handle all the orders quick enough! And the BIGGEST disappointment about our stay was they don’t clean the rooms everyday. You have to stay a minimum of FOUR days to get your room cleaned! GROSS!! Did i mention that the casino smells like manure?? I just learned that the casino is located near a dairy farm and that explains that, but…..
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club is a destination-worthy course that impresses visitors with its great condition and friendly staff. Despite the long drive from Phoenix, golfers find the experience well worth it, as the course offers phenomenal conditions from tee to green. The employees are consistently praised for their friendliness and energy, making every interaction enjoyable.
great golf experience here. course is in great shape. free range balls and bottled water. they really take care of their guests. went here with a group of 8 guys. at the end of our round we ended up playing the par 3 course for some skins and was a lot of fun.... th as to the employees who made our round great

Great course with generous fairways on some holes. Bring bug spray.
John Adamaitis — Google review
It’s a beautiful course and very well maintained. HOWEVER, management is horrible when it comes to weather. I played a couple weeks ago and there was fog on the golf course. Visibility was horrible. You couldn’t see more than 30 or 40 yards ahead of you. You could not even see where the Fairway ends or what is considered in play. It took nearly the 14th hole for me to ever see a fairway. The staff even questioned why they had us go out when there should have been a fog delay. $200 or more for a round of golf that was unsuitable to play in and very dangerous. We could not see the people in front of us, or behind us for the first 14 holes. Management should have done a fog delay and have groups tee off on the first hole and the 10th hole but according to outdoor staff that is not something that they do. Like I said, it’s a beautiful, beautiful course when you can see it and the conditions are great but the management is horrible.

The greens (as well as the fairways and tee boxes) are in extremely good shape and roll perfectly. Pretty course and amazing staff.

Made the trip down here from Phoenix area which took 50 minutes or so…and was absolutely worth it. Course was in phenomenal condition tee to green. Every single interaction our group had with the staff was terrific. I’ve played dozens of courses in the Scottsdale area and would put this up there with the best of them from a value perspective. We will be back!
Tyler Grindstaff — Google review
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Water every three holes which is nice. Tee boxes and fairways were in nice shape. Greens were extremely slow. The biggest downside is the unbelievable amount of bunkers. Bunkers were in good shape but the sheer number of them kinda took the fun out the course. Not a replay course for me.

Friendliest staff I’ve come across at a golf course.
Free waters at tee boxes of every few holes.
Fantastic greens, roughs and fairways. Tee boxes in amazing shape. Food was great. Cart service is frequent.
Played We-Ko-Pa (Saguaro)the day after this course and I prefer AK-Chin. Better layout, a more interesting course and half the price.

Drove down from Scottsdale about an hour to get here. Price is less than the popular publics around Phoenix, probably to lure folks for the long drive. Pulled up to bag drop and the guy just stood there watching us after we popped the trunk. We had to get our own bags out from the car. Not a good first impression, but it is public after all. Maybe the superior experience at Quintero the day prior spoiled my group? Went off to the range before round to find they are in the middle of installing large light fixtures around the driving range to turn it into a mini pitch and putt nighttime course (more later). There were some balls for us to hit at the range, but not enough. The course itself was very playable, despite over 100 bunkers, but the sand was well maintained and consistent. We played 6450 Blues, all 7-8 HC players and felt we could score low 80s with just a little more knowledge or experience of the course. Fairways were in excellent condition as were the greens. Practice green was completely flat, but the greens on the course are not. It would be nice if the practice green had some topography built-in to match a typical situation on the course to get speed. I liked the variety in design, plenty of doglegs, and good challenges into the greens. Fairways were generous, but even if you hit it slightly outside the fairway, you can still find the ball as the vegetation is more like the valley, and less like the Upland desert. Didn’t see any cacti, for example. I read a lot of reviews about mosquitoes and bug problems, but we did not have any except at the end when we had a beer on the terrace where the flies were terrible. Sit near the fire to avoid bugs. After our round, we went back to the driving range (which was set up as the pitch and putt after 3pm) to practice short game and play some friendly challenges. There is only one other group out there practicing so we could hit five balls, each into the greens. I highly recommend this to hone the short game, and it makes the experience unique. I think once they get the stadium lights in there it’ll feel like a quasi topgolf experience. The 6 greens on the range are 40 to 80 yards from the tees that they set up as a circuit so you get some good practice in after your round. I probably would drive down from north Phoenix to play here again for 2 reasons: the pitch and putt and lower green fees. Otherwise the course itself is solid but shouldn’t be on your bucket list.

Employees were some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered at a golf course. It seemed like every employee wanted to be there. Whoever the employee from San Francisco California, was one of the most energetic and nicest employees you could meet. If you’re in PHX area, it’s worth the drive. Probably would be a $300+ teetime if it were in Scottsdale at this time of year.

Eleven guys and myself, mostly from Canada, played the course on Jan 30, 2024 and really enjoyed it. All the bunkers made it challenging and fun. One beef that some of us had was that some of the bunkers didn't have enough sand. But our overall experience was very positive and everyone would like to play the course again when we return next year.
I also want to mention one person, Tim, who made me feel very welcome when I arrived at the course. When he found out that I hadn't played the course before he gave me all the details that I needed and was super kind. Tim, if you see this, you filled my tank that day with your kindness.
Ak Chin management: please give Tim a bonus this month/year! 🙂

Phoenix Raceway is a popular destination for NASCAR fans, boasting a seating capacity of over 65,000. The venue has undergone recent improvements that have greatly enhanced the overall fan experience. While free parking is available, visitors should expect to walk a fair distance. Inside the track there are plenty of food and beverage options, including self-serve drink areas that offer quick service for water or alcoholic beverages. It's worth noting that Phoenix Raceway has transitioned to a cashless system.
What else to say, it's the place to be for NASCAR. They do a great job and the improvements over the last couple years have made it a great fan experience. Just be prepared to walk a good distance when you park in the free parking area. There are plenty of food and drink options for when you get inside, The self serve drink areas a unique and easy to use to get a quick water or adult beverage. It definitely flows quicker for just getting something to drink. They have gone completely cashless, just be aware of that. When planning to go, know where the sun is at and where you are thinking of sitting. Closer to the start line gets shad sooner than section 112.

Always love coming to the Cup Series races here! Hadn't been in the infield/pre-race pit access since 2017, and so much has changed for the better! Much more fan engagement, chances to meet/see your favorite drivers, and be close up to the cars in the garage! Awesome all the way around, and while my favorite driver is retiring, I still want to come back just for the experience! And the seats behind the start finish line in 151 is a great view, when normally up close isn't!

Incredible facility for race fans! The infield experience and the views from the grandstand are some of the best on the West Coast for racing. Your best opportunities to see the cars in the garage up close are here at Phoenix. Parking and Concession Pricing do need some adjustments to be more fan friendly, but everything else is top-notch. Go check out this track on raceday if you get a chance.

Great time at the Shriners Children's 500. It was great racing at a great venue. Ya gotta get pit passes when you go. The added experience was worth it. Plan to do some walking while you're there.
The only thing I'd change is installing kiosks at the infield food vendors. When the race is going, they can't hear what you are trying to order. A kiosk would really make ordering easier

First timer for a NASCAR race and I was impressed with the facility and organization of this huge event. The one downside were the huge prices at concession stands.$7 for a plain hot dog? $21 for a smoked turkey leg. Wow.

What an absolutely fantastic venue to watch a NASCAR race! The raceway is huge with ample seating throughout. Within the middle sections you could almost see the cars throughout the entire track! There are plenty of food options and vendors in the stadium and the majority of seats were able to get some shade in the early afternoon!
In terms of parking, there is no need to pay as there were lots of free options within close walking distance adjacent to the stadium.

Great event! Phoenix Raceway was clean, and the staff was friendly. Very well organized to help visitors get back and forth to their cars. Had a kids zone to keep them entertained before the show. You're allowed to bring drinks and snacks into the event, but there are pricey vendors there. One thing I would recommend is bringing a flashlight if your goi g to a late game. If you have to walk back your car, the walkways are busy and dark. We saw 2 people fall. However, they were walking right along the fence line.

We had an awesome experience here. You can show up at 8am for a race that starts at 1. Lots of vendors and activities. The higher you sit the better the view but they’re obviously more expensive. You can bring in a cooler with food and drinks just no alcohol. They have lots of food options prices are on par with and stadium vendors. The free parking is a dirt lot that is about a 10-15 min walk to the entrance. There is a “tram” which is a truck towing some carts. The line is so long you’re better walking. You can pay to park closer. We got there at 11 and with parking and walking we got inside within 30 min. Not too crowded if you show up early. I’d recommend the infield pass if you want to see the garages and cars. Kids tickets are way cheaper and they have a veterans discount.

My wife and I got tickets to the ALLY Curve suite for both days. We are spoiled by the accommodations that the raceway puts on. The track is owned by NASCAR. NASCAR's attention to detail is impeccable. Our tickets allowed us to go pretty much anywhere we wanted to. We will be back for a fourth year. We recommend this place if you're a racing fan. Championship races are held here in November. We are on a waiting list to get tickets for that weekend.

We attended the Nascar Championship and thought 2 1/2 hrs was lots...it wasn't. Plan your trip accordingly as there were bottlenecks everywhere for General Parking. The venue itself was great and they move folks from the parking lots to the raceway efficiently and we had a great time. If you on the hill or around turn three you will be in the sun for the duration of the race, plan accordingly.
10,000-seat baseball stadium hosting Cactus League spring training games plus year-round events.
This is a great ballpark to watch Spring Training games in perfect weather. This review focuses on the Terrace Level located on the third floor behind home plate. It's an exclusive area that accommodates up to 60 people (you need 40 to reserve the area). Our tickets were $43 each and included game entry, free food, free non-alcoholic beverages, access to a cash bar, and clean private restrooms. On the day we visited, a build-your-own buffet line was set up with salad, quarter-pound hot dogs and buns, pulled pork on hamburger buns, a taco bar (shredded chicken, tortilla chips, and cornbread), and chocolate chip cookies. As you can see in the photos, you're outdoors but are standing or sitting in the shade while enjoying a great view of the game. Fantastic!

This is a great field to watch a spring training game. There were several options for parking, and the employees directed traffic with lots of people and communication. We moved fairly well even with the number of cars there. The only challenge was food. There were only 3 food locations sponsored by the park and only 2 additional food vendors. The lines were so long. We missed over 2 innings of play waiting in line and waiting for the food. And we went to the shortest line at the only food truck there. I can't imagine how long it took for everyone else. The rest of the time there was great. Just bring snacks or plan to eat right when you get there.

What a pleasant surprise to find the stadium where the Cleveland Yahoo team plays, also the Cincinnati Reds. It looks like a beautiful stadium and I can’t wait to go back to watch a game.
Not time for spring season but we traveled out there to watch the hot air balloon event which didn’t happen because it was too windy. We still had a great time walking around, chatting, listening to live music, and meeting some really fun folks.
I WOULD RECOMMEND.

Of all the ballparks we've visited so far, this rates at the top for comfort & spaciousness. Bonus points for parking being FREE!! Every other park we've visited charges $10 (not a fan of this latest money grab-parking used to be free everywhere). The pricing for tickets was also excellent. Food choices are okay, pretty standard offerings. Staff and fans were great fun!

While not as impressive as Camelback Ranch or the Surprise stadium, the Goodyear Ballpark is a cozy little place with very cheap ticket prices and food that isn't too extremely expensive like many of the other Phoenix area venues. The park is generally less occupied than some of the other places and parking is readily available. It's a fun little place to catch a game.

Spring training games had not started yet, but I walked around the park and it is a very new with a comfortable setup. Not a bad seat in the park, and plenty of space to move around. Good food options and a great team store for both Cincinnati and Cleveland.

Great place to watch spring training for the Cleveland Guardians. Every seat is good, and the food is about the same as in Cleveland. Really great place to see your favorite players up close. It's nice to get away from the cold for a while as well.

I worked security at the Event today. It was a very fun event with a really good turn out of people! There was a drone show even! And so many food trucks with amazing food! I hope i work this even again next year!

1st time here. Attended business conference held in the concourse area. Love the location for doing business in the west valley. Glad to have this multipurpose facility for non-sporting events. Staff was great and the grounds were well maintained. Definitely would consider hosting event here again during the cooler months.

Went to see the hot air balloons at the ballpark. Had such a great time. Got there a bit late but still had amazing vendor food selection and live music. Clean atmosphere and a very well organized event!!

Great stadium to watch a game. Free parking! Nice food and beer options, although I’d love to see more local beers from Cleveland and Cinci like other stadiums do.

It's such a great ballpark to catch a spring training game. We had so much fun. We had good seats in the stands right behind 1st base but went to the grassy area to lay in the warm sun for a bit. We will definitely be back!!

If you love spring training baseball, this is a wonderful facility. Parking was free. Very easy to get in and out. All the people were just wonderfully cheerful. Tickets were only $13 plus fees and taxes.

Great intimate ball park where every seat is good! The parking was plentiful and free. Walking from the car to the ballpark is short distance and buying tickets at the box office was easy. They require you to have a US phone because the tickets are digital.
You can walk around the entire ballpark, and it seemed like most seats are great, including the berm in the outfield
Be aware that the sun can get pretty hot so you may want to pick seats in the shade if that’s going to be an issue for you
The usual food and drink options at normal ballpark prices
We had a great time and we’d certainly go again
Frequently visit the Ajo Chamber of Commerce to purchase presents for relatives residing in other states. They offer a delightful selection of small, charming items suitable for children. The personnel are friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to assist. The service provided is efficient and prompt, creating a pleasant ambiance within the establishment. Overall, it is an excellent place to find gifts that meet one's needs without any individual experiences being emphasized.
Often stop in for gifts to send to out of state relatives. Cute little items for kids. ❤️
Outdoor area filled with prehistoric paintings carved into rocks, plus bare-bones picnic facilities.
Great place to see the stars! Very quiet at night. Sites are relatively spaced out. There are both reserved sites and first come sites. Nice hosts on site. It's off a paved road so easy access. We will be back.

Was awesome to see. You can't get to close with a rail that keeps you on the trail. But a lot of petroglyphs are still visible. Amazing to learn what the symbols meant. Also great history through that area. There are picnic tables and vault toilets. Right next to the site is also a campground. Very peaceful spot.
csmather77 — Google review
Not as large as other sites I've seen, but makes up for it in sheer quantity. Every rock has multiple glyphs. Some are quite different from others I've seen in other places. Good interpretive signs regarding area geology and history and the usual "we don't know what they mean" other than the obvious animals. Interesting to see all the petroglyphs are on the east side facing the rising sun. Only a 10 mile detour off freeway, which has good signage directing you to them. Well worth the effort.
Doug Rockey — Google review
On a whem we stopped here 11 miles north of I 8. 60 sites no electric no water no sewer. Many pull through only $8 a night and senior pass made it $4 a night. Beautiful sun sets very very quiet. Gen times 8AM-8PM only. Fire pit and concrete pic. table with pit toilets only luxury.
Doug McNattin — Google review
Clean campground and clean pit toilets. Credit to the camp host!
Big area with lots of space between most camp sites. Camped on the south end away from the main road.
Only three complaints:
The best sites are by online registration only. 8.00 plus 4.00 PER DAY. As it turns out, these are some of the best sites.
Two, and this is hard to enforce, is the 8am-8pm generator rule. These elderly campers are easy to spot. Big red gas can sitting on the tailgate. Unfortunately the folks running power on gas gennies are oblivious to the drone they make at 10:00pm. Or maybe they are running on Hawaii time.
Number three is…what happened to the third (middle) pit toilet? Still shows one on google earth 12/22.
The campground is very nice overall. Very quiet and far enough away from most of the light pollution. Garbage service is a plus. Would stay here again.

What is now barren hot desert used to be a rich community of Tohono O Odham people. The massive amount of petroglyphs carved into rocks with a thin volcanic layer are forever witnesses of once golden days for this nation. Unfortunately large agricultural projects still active today, destroyed entire eco systems as we also can witness today in many parts of our once green and blue planet. All the water of the Gila River is consumed by monocultures and massive cow farms nearby for the American hamburger madness. The natives had to flee their own land… an all too familiar story of economic greed.

About 20 minutes from the highway, and make sure you use your GPS to get there. The road's not well marked.
Beautiful opportunity to see some of the native American history of Arizona!
Short walk around the mound of petroglyphs.

Small site but great collection of petroglyphs and campground was very nice, sure were nice and level and good sized. Pit toilets were very clean and we'll maintained. We would definitely stop by here again.

What an awesome CG for a night or two at $8, or $4 if you have an America the Beautiful pass! Only 11 miles north off of I-8, and the road in is paved and in good condition. When entering the CG, the first right turn is for the day use/reservation check-in. The 2nd right turn leads to the info board and iron ranger. Sixty sites (19 reservable, rest are FCFS) that are hard packed gravel, generally level, and well-spaced out. Plenty of room for a large motorhome. Each site has a fire ring and the picnic table is numbered for the site. A couple of dumpsters and vault toilets are the only CG amenities. The petroglyphs are pretty cool. When picking a FCFS site, make sure to check the site number on the pole for a white "reservable only" sign. We weren't paying attention, and ended up having to move after getting all set up. Beginner move, for sure!

Interesting glyphs, but not worth a long drive to see it. Lots of relics from the early 1900s too if you look closely.

This is a wonderful place to find peace and quiet. The campground is clean, along with the 2 vault toilet restrooms. There's a ton of history and exploring to do out in this area.

This BLM site is fantastic. No hook ups, a pit toilet but no showers. Plenty of hiking and ORV wheeling but please be respectful and follow all signs.
Now to that woman who screamed and yelled at us for taking our jeep on the trail, the trail marked "no camping". I called the BLM office and asked. In fact, you are allowed to drive on that trail. As you said, you are 3rd generation Arisonian, you should know the sign facing the terrain meant no driving on that, "NOT" the trail. I suggest with the big chip you have on your shoulder about out of state people ruining AZ to stay home! You are not a kind and compassionate person. After you left all the campers here had a great time.

Excellent place to camp for a night. Campsites are spacious and sit far apart. Incredibly quiet and wide-open. The nearby petroglyphs are interesting and there’s a day use area. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring. Best for RVs, vans, trucks. But you could pitch a tent, just don’t have a lot of privacy. This is a beautiful, remote, find that makes you appreciate work done by the Bureau of land management and national parks / national monuments.

We enjoyed camping here. Sites are far apart and fairly level. Dry camping with pit toilets. Please get a reservation. We had to ask someone to leave our site. They thought it was a first come first serve. We met a historian who explained so much about the area. Enjoyed the Petroglyphs and the explanations of the drawings. The Butterfield trail came through here. Thank you for a great visit.

Lots of well preserved Petroglyphs. Stayed at campground 4 nights ( need to book online in advance). Sites are huge and very well spaced. No services. No fresh water or dump site available. Dumpsters available. Quiet place, not much to do outside the Petroglyphs but enjoyed some down time.

Beautiful place, a lot of petroglyphs, rocks are covered by different figures and shapes. Very interesting. Plenty of parking and a picnic area.
Kaja SWIEB — Google review
Reservations for camping have to be made on line but don't expect cellular service anywhere near the site. The Petroglyphs were good and worth the visit. Vault toilets and trash cans, picnic tables and fire rings are it. No electric or water...
Great selection of dates. Many other food products as well. Varieties of natural honey, steak sauce, barbecue sauce, jellies, etc.. Lots of good quality souvenirs. Not a tourist trap. Definitely worth stopping to check it out. I always buy several bags of dates and bottles of sauce when passing through. Good pizza and shakes on the other side of the building. Good for pets with cages outside and areas to walk/do their business.

Clean bathrooms !! Has a gas station with lots of drink and snack options !! The small store is attached to it as well as the small Pizza Hut and ice cream shop !!! I defiantly recommend this place for a stop !! It also has dog camels for your pet after a long road trip and you can even rent a lock while you go inside

Looked clean, everything here was the most expensive of anywhere else on the trip. High test gas was 4.79, everywhere else was 4.04 or 4.09. All for Chevron high test. Pizza 🍕 was fair and expensive. Had racing fuel. Only refreshing part was the young lady at the main register, she was very pleasent.

Literally came here on a whim on our drive back from Arizona to San Diego because this was on the border. I heard that dates and a date shake is a must-try in Arizona so we had to make this stop!
My husband and I tried the date ice cream and the date shake and man that shake was good! Ice cream was too strong in date flavor so we wouldn't be able to finish a whole scoop. Good for a taste.
That Date Shake was really good, and I could totally have finished the entire thing myself without sharing with my husband.
Only downside was that I knew it had a lot of sugar so I controlled on the portion size there.
Thickness was just right and didn't really give a brain freeze or anything like that.
The store also had a really huge variety of dates - types I haven't even heard of - but I ended up buying the Medjool Dates after the guy working they told me those were the best kind.
It's been awhile since I've had dates and these were so soft and fresh! I've heard how some can be really hard but these were perfect.
I wouldn't mind going for another trip just to buy some more dates to take for my mom to India, because she is a major date fan!
I also bought a souvenir shot glass from here. It was very hard finding souvenirs in Arizona. My husband also got a cute bag for his mom.
This place really does have it all
What a fun place! In the middle of nowhere there is Dateland. We had the dates shakes and it was a real treat. The gift shop was well stocked, clean and neat with a variety of items and dates of course.
The only negative thing was the young man who served us our shakes. He had some kind of headphones in his ears which led to both of us saying, What, what? Take the head phones out and talk to people.

Driven by several times on my way to Phoenix and finally stopped for a date-shake. Glad I did!💕. While there I bought some date-nut bread, date, sour-cream cookies, and a slice of a date bar. Pleasant oasis on a long trip from San Diego.
The Castle Dome Mine Museum is a destination that showcases the life of a mining town in 1878 through renovated and recreated buildings. This museum is a testament to the dedication required to maintain it, as it has been kept alive with new surprises added over the years. Visitors can witness the challenging but beautiful landscape that shaped the historic mining and settlement of this area.
We had a great time here! The road was paved for a while and then it was hard sand/dirt for about 9 miles. The scenery was beautiful! I love some history so I was excited to learn more about this place and it was well worth the drive! The background of this old mine town was Castle Dome mountain - WOW! If you do visit, I recommend you go during the winter months, since they are closed in the summer. Also, if you do go in the spring - beware because that's when the wild life becomes more active: rattlers, coyotes, etc.
The fee just for the town was $15 per person, but if you want to do the mine it is $75 per person. I HIGHLY recommend you do the mine tour - which includes access to the town. All in all we were there for about 2 hours.
The best part of this place is that it is Pet Friendly 😍, so we took our fur baby along with us. Please if you do take your pet, please clean up after them!!
Take food/snacks and water, as there is NO convenience store anywhere.

Be prepared to be amazed if you are wanting to see history!! So much to see. It will take you most of the day to look thru all these building in this ghost town! We didn't make it thru all of it and will be going back again when it cools off.
The mining Hull is a must see. FLourescent Minerals is spectacular!

Turn on mm55 from Yuma on 95, down a bumpy dirt road. Pretty cool place. $20pp to walk around might be a bit much. Spent about an hour and half checking out old buildings and machines. Walked about 1-2 miles throughout the city "if" you walk the whole thing. Might go back for the mine trip $75pp. Only 2 other couples were there at 11am on Wednesday so you may have the place to yourself.

Highly recommend. This is a great place to visit to learn about the early life of someone working as a miner. We were able to go directly into the mine, which was awesome. The buildings were cool to see. Driving the long, dusty gravel road does come to an end.

This place really is a labor of love to keep it going after all these years with new surprises being added. Your visit here helps it stay alive. What a great way to see the historic mining and settlement of this challenging but beautiful landscape. We really enjoy it and have visited many times over the past 15 years when we first discovered this gem in the desert.

Lots of interesting buildings to look at. They do a great job on describing each building and items in it. Very interesting to walk around and see everything. You can scan a barcode with your phone and that will give you a self guided tour of the place. They prefer cash for the entrance fee, however will take a credit card if you don't have enough cash, but it will cost an extra $1 per person. We didn't do the mine tour as it was $75 per person and we had a group. A bit too pricey for all of us. Definitely worth going to see if you are in the area. Parking is limited and when we were there, no food available although I believe they have some on the weekends.

Been there twice, last summer in August.. it was pretty miserable in the heat so we went last week and took friends. It was a fun and very interesting visit that I'd recommend... we ended up eating over at the landing in Lake Martinez but next time we'll pack lunches and have a picnic at the mine... there were 5 rattlesnakes spotted when we went so be prepared and be safe as it's a long drive to a hospital and I forgot to check if they stock antivenom for an emergency.

We loved this place. So magical and pretty. The gravel road is not as bad, if you have a small car you should be ok if you are careful. We loved the experience. $15 dlls for each adult and $7 small children. Smaller kids are free. They have sodas, water and chips for sale for $1. It takes about 1 1/2 to to hours to tour the whole town. It was worth the drive.

Lots of history here. The drive out to the town is a very rough (washboard) gravel road, so beware. The town is amazing, but. An also be a bit confusing, despite the I'm weed buildings and audio self tour website. There needs to. E a map of the grounds, so parts don't get missed. The cost is $20/adult, and cash is king.

It’s a great place and highly recommended.
Such an amazing time visiting this date farm in December! I had never had a date before coming to this farm and now I am excited to try some new recipes. The staff was very helpful in letting us know what we should try. We ended up getting some dates to take home, the coconut covered dates, and a date shake. If we had more time we would have loved to go on a date farm tour.

They will even ship your gifts to friends and family right from the store! I sent some back to VT to my daughter and daughter-in-law law, and they loved them! They even have a cafe there as well! And the date nut bread, is to die for!!

We love dates! This was our first time to a date farm and were blown away by the freshness of the product and the information shared about the growing process. We travel a lot and find it hard to get good dates. We sometimes order from Amazon but are disappointed with what we get most of the time. We have seen overly dry dates and even black mold, making it a waste of our money.
The dates at Martha's Gardens were incredibly fresh, perfectly ripened, and organic! We purchased both Medjool and Hayani dates when here and loved them. Marth's Gardens sells Medjool dates in 3 types: Confectionary (for baking and the driest), Fancy (for snacking and less dry than the confectionary) and Premium (for snacking and the moistest type). We purchased both the Fancy and Premium and enjoyed both. However, for our pallets, there was not enough of a difference to justify the higher cost of the Premium.
We will back soon to try some of their other offerings and hopefully to take a tour of the farm. We highly recommend a visit to Martha's Gardens.

Nice chill spot to hangout outside. Tranquil fountain and seating area. If you knit or sketch or want to chat with your date on a date-shake date… it’s a great spot. Otherwise you can be in and out in 10 minutes.
Not a lot to see if you don’t go on the tour; but for what it is Martha’s is very nice.

Where can you get a fresh date shake? At Martha's Garden in Yuma Az.. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have a wider selection of date varieties there, a few, but no sampler packs, that would have been interesting. It was too late in the day to take a tour and too late in the year to see the fruits on the tree.

Yuma Territorial Prison Park is a museum located in a prison that dates back to 1876. The prison was restored and transformed into a state park, where visitors can learn about its history through photos and historical pieces. There is also an interactive area where visitors can take their mug shot and a guard tower with a 360-degree view. It's possible to visit the park within an hour, but it's recommended to take your time to enjoy everything at an easy pace.
Excellent history lesson! Loved following the placards to learn the history. Gentleman at ticket area in gift shop was engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. The museum had plenty of photos and historical pieces. Fun interactive area to take your mug shot. Nice 360° view from the guard tower. You could visit in an hour but we lingered, saw and read everything at an easy pace. Thank you Yuma for keeping this piece of history restored for travelers like us to enjoy. Fair price for admission.

Couple of things to note, dogs are not allowed on the premises. Cost is $10 per person unless you are a veteran or Arizona resident. 100% disables veterans get in free. Volunteers are very friendly and helpful. We did the self guided tour and was very informative. Plan to spend about an hour here. Plenty of picnic tables and a restroom on site. A must stop when you are in the area. It has a museum, gift shop, movie presentation and tour. We loved the tour and learned a lot about the history of the prison. People were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Plenty of free parking spaces when we arrived. Entrance cost $10 per person. Expect to spend at least 1-2 hrs. max. I highly recommend visiting this location

A very interesting look into the Yuma territorial prison that was in operation from the late 1800s until the early 1900s. It was shut down because they ran out of room. The museum building has many interesting facts and photographs of prisoners as well as those that worked there. The cell blocks are interesting. Worth a visit.

So much history and so much to see. My children ages 10 and 4 enjoyed this place as well. Self guided tour with a brochure and a short video in the museum. A few sensitive topics for smaller kiddos, but we were able to navigate them. Don't forget the cemetery (entrance to that was a small path in the corner of the parking lot). We spent about 1.5 hours here, but you could spend longer if you read each exhibit in the museum.

An interesting thing to see when in the area but Limited appeal with the entire experience taking less than an hour. Might make an interesting date though.
This place has some great history and talks about being haunted but I didn't experience anything and the cells are all closed so you don't actually get to experience much.
Friendly staff and some great photo backdrops do make this a nice spot for a brief look.
For the ghost experience spend some time in The dark cell which is the only cell you can go in.

Fun and interesting place. Lots of history and hundreds of different items to see. $8 regular or $4 for military. Friendly staff at the gift shop/entrance. Get you mug shot taken 😆

Very cool old territory prison.
You can see the cells, and the history of those who inhabited them. There's a museum inside with lots of neat old relics from the time period, and a little gift shop.

This was one of my favorite stops in Yuma. Such rich history and so much information on everything! Shared it with my best friends which made it better! A must visit if you're in Yuma! I wish I'd gotten a photo of the old prison cemetary! As you can see we were in and out of most of the cells but there are some that are inaccessible. Probably because of the decor and special effects and not wanting that damaged by over eager tourists!

Enjoyed learning the history in regards to the Yuma Prison. Beautiful view at the guardhouse. If you are in the area I highly recommend!

This is considered the number one tourist attraction in Yuma. It’s definitely a well earned designation. Kudos to the pros who set it up. You get a real feel for the past in so many ways! About the only sense they could not replicate is the odour of the original inmates! Thank goodness!

Very beautiful prison park! Amazing views, great details and photos. Jail cells were really cool to see and experience. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Breathtaking vies of the whole area. Supporting parks are gorgeous! Was happy to pay $10 per person townjoy a very well kept facility. All the money goes back I to the park!

Great history. Most noticeable are the bare feet of the inmates and rough stone floors, ankle bracelets and iron ball and chains. No AC or fans back then. Iron beds, but city residents complained when flushable toilets were installed as they didn't have them. Very limited on amenities so go prepared.

Salvation Mountain is a distinctive and offbeat attraction located on the way to Los Angeles. This quirky landmark features a mound made of adobe, adorned with vibrant religious folk art. Created by Leonard Knight, the project is free to visit and allows visitors to walk up the mountain, as long as they remain on the yellow brick road. There are restrooms and shaded areas available for those who want to explore this unique destination.
Seen this in the movie, "Into the Wild" and put it on my list of must see. Visiting the high desert decided to take a day trip here. Nice drive along the Salton Sea on a paved two lane road. Be sure to gas up, have water, sunscreen and hat. Arrived in the morning and it was already hot. Easy to find, used GPS. There is parking off the road. The area was clean and a port-a-potty on sight was surprising clean and serviced. An on site care taker was friendly and working on maintenance. Information flyers and postcards are available which I loved and took advantage of. A donation box is securely set up and suggested. There was also a selfie shelf to take photos. Genius! You can wander and explore where permitted. Sunset photos would be the best. A California icon that is worth the time.

If you are on a road trip and have time to swing through this place by all means check it out. But it’s basically a bunch of funky artwork and a glorified homeless encampment. Everyone there was nice and you can get some cool photos for IG but overall not worth making a special trip unless you are really bored.

Weirdest place I've ever been but, I like strange things so I had a great time seeing the different odd things and people. If you're going there don't forget to stop by and see East Jesus. The only thing you may not want to check out is the hot spring I did and there were three people naked in there bathing. Oops!

Visited in April 2015. A truly amazing and unique place that left me inspired. Bit of history: Leonard Knight, born on November 1, 1931, was the 4th of 6 children. After serving in the Korean War as a vehicle technician, he embarked on a remarkable artistic journey. Knight’s passion for spreading love and God’s message led him to create something truly extraordinary.
In the 1970s, Knight painted “GOD IS LOVE” on a hot air balloon crafted from patchwork materials and a stove. When the balloon failed to take flight, Knight prayed and felt that God’s response was to build a mountain. By 1984, he discovered Slab City, a transient and retiree commune, where he decided to leave a “small monument” made of concrete and paint. Over the next five years, the project grew, and the current Salvation Mountain emerged. Leonard Knight passed away in 2014 but was able to visit his beloved creation one last time in May 2013.

A great stop during your roadtrip! It’s free to visit and you can walk up the mountain as long as you stay on the yellow brick road. There is shade and some bathrooms too. Enough parking spots available. Loved all the colors!

I wanted to be more impressed than I was. A lot was closed off unfortunately. I appreciate art and the time that goes into it but overall it was just ok. The best part was seeing the Salton Sea along the way to the mountain. The area is definitely a no man’s land. Strong smell of human waste in the air. Not worth a 6 hour round trip drive. Honestly, once you’ve seen these photos you’ve seen it all.

Yes I first knew about this place from Into the wild. Always wanted to follow Chris’ foot steps to pay a visit. Unfortunately couldn’t be here before Mr Knight passed away in 2014. (Instead I hiked the Stampede trail to find the magic bus in Alaska the same year). It means a lot to me to be able to get here finally. I drove here from Toronto, Canada. Made a little donation and wishing the legacy can be continued.

Absolutely must visit this place. It’s about 1.5 hours off the beaten path. We only had an hour because we had to catch our flight but you could spend an entire day. Search for Cam and Brenny on YouTube to learn more. You’ll drive through Slab City and about ten minutes beyond is East Jesus.

Impressive labor of love. The clay and brilliant colors are pretty dazzling although be aware that parts are closed so you can't walk along the entirety of it any more. Road there is pretty bumpy so be prepared for the experience of thinking you're lost. The host is super friendly and you'll likely see some locals from Slab City on the way.

Landmark of this area! How can one person devote his life for this amazing space. I respect all his efforts and contributions. Very colorful and meaningful. Just be careful not to destroy this place as a tourist. Although there should be continuous reinforcement work, the covid ourbreak disturbed it. Now this landmark is a little bit broken.

What a beautiful art piece! They have a selfie station here so you can get a lot of pictures with the art. I went on a day after it had rain so you can't really get up close because the piece is very fragile. They also let me send up my drone and take pictures from the sky. It looks beautiful, both on the ground and from above. Definitely recommend to anybody who loves outdoor installation art. The message is also something we all need to hear.

Came during a weekday afternoon in Feb - weather is pretty mild but hot compared to rest of SoCal (can’t imagine what it’s like in summer). Nice colorful monument that can be seen from faraway, definitely worth a visit if at Salton Sea otherwise not sure I drive all the way here. Take some time to explore Slab City while at it. Expect dirt road and eclectic surroundings.

In the vast desert wilderness lies an astonishing art installation. Gratitude to the creators and caretakers who transform ordinary objects into art amidst the barren expanse. Appreciate their expression of love through creativity and beauty. It's a pity one can't climb it due to maintenance, but hopeful for a chance to experience it up close in the future.
Parking and public restrooms are available.

Drove here with friends while on vacation during the early few days of January. We went on a Wednesday during the afternoon. We traveled from Joshua Tree to Salvation, which was around 120 miles. It was an extremely long drive. The roads near Salvation Mountain are very rough despite being paved with asphalt. I would advise taking an SUV or other car that has a bit of ground clearance. We got stuck in the sand near a road-side stand because of this.
Despite the setbacks, Salvation Mountain is an impressive place, and the story behind it is very interesting. It's about spreading a message with peace and love. One thing I would also mention is to avoid the bathrooms since they aren't sanitary.

1920s-built stone tower with observation deck for desert views, plus a museum & gift shop.
An absolute gem that is just a little off the beaten path. $7 per adult to climb the tower and explore the Boulder park. Great place for kids to blow off some steam in the middle of a long car ride. It is windy and colder as you are on the top of a ridge, so bring a jacket or coat. Clean if spartan bathrooms.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Desert View Tower. There's an interesting story and a great vibe here. If you like history and unusual architecture, then this place is for you. The tower offers great open air views of the desert from the top. The lower floors are filled with an eclectic and interesting blend of gift shop, bookstore, museum items and other oddities - a authentic roadside attraction. Leave plenty of time to explore Boulder Park and view the carved rock sculptures. In addition to the really nice people that operate the site, you may discover and view the peafowl that roam the grounds. Definitely worth the visit and the bargain price of admission. Don't miss it.

I stopped by this Desert Tower on my way to Phoenix from SD.
I believe this location is part of SD as well. This tower is interesting. It is made out of small boulders alone the I8. I would mistaken this to be a light house if this was near the ocean. Inside, there's a circular near 360 degree window view of the outside. Inside is a small give soft with all kinds of wonderful stuff if you want to bring back a little souvenir.
On the outside, there's a boulder park you can walk up to. it's like a little mini caves and tunnels you can go through, but be careful with your steps.
There's also a opening with some picnic tables. it's great to just take a breather from the long drive, visit the tower and the boulder park, have some picnic before continuing the long journey.
Oh, by the way, the people there are just friendly.
Oh, one more thing. there's a donation box outside by the boulder park. Be sure to contribute a few greens for the great people that is keeping the place nice and clean. It cost money to flush your radiator water. you know.

LOVED THIS PLACE!!! So excited to stop and check it out. Unfortunately we got here after closing so we didn't get to go in the tower and explore, but the rest of the area was super neat!! The carved and painted rocks were amazing. The view was gorgeous. There were live peacocks. The little short road from the highway to here had all sorts of fun odd alien scenes! We weren't sure how much we were allowed to explore, so we didn't. It looked like it was actually people's homes and back yards so we didn't want to intrude too much. Will for sure stop here again sometime

This place holds a place in my heart! I've only been here twice: a decade ago when my son was little and today with my 2 daughters. It truly is a HIDDEN GEM!
A friendly man in the Tower welcomes everyone in like old friends, offering history and quarters for the telescope at the top. Lots to look at while you make your way up. Native artifacts, taxidermy, gemstones, arrowheads and even Scorpion novelty lollipops for purchase in their giftshop.
There are loose walking sweet, sociable dogs, chickens and peacocks on the property.
For only $9.50 per adult, you get full access to the Desert View Tower, the property which has full restrooms and the Boulder Caves!
A fun labyrinth through boulders, caves & hideaways.
We will be back as long as they'll have us!

The view from the tower is super cool and the boulder climbing is quite fun as well. I’d gone by it on the 8 a number of times, so I’m glad I finally decided to check it out. I definitely recommend making a quick stop.

This place is a great little gem. My son and I hung out for almost 2 hours. Most of it was exploring the cave to the back of the tower.
The tower has great views of the area. The winds, though, were blowing hard but are not an issue once away from the tower. The tower is a crazy mixture of all sorts of curiosities and is fun to explore. The real fun is the rock caves. My son and I spent about an hour and a half exploring. Just be careful and do not get stuck like me. There are also a few dogs and a peacock living on the property. The current owner is also looking to sell. With enough money, it would make a great airbnb.
To go in the tower and cave, you have to get a ticket ($13 for the 2 of us). If you have the time, the rock caves and view are worth the stop.

wonderful, lawless place with a cool tower that looks out on the desert for like a million miles. getting to the tippy top is kind of a tiny adventure and preety rad. quirky, sincere caretakers. making your way through the stones and sorta caves is super fun and there's many corners, tunnels and peaks to explore. the rock art is super cool.
the tower has stuff for sale like art, books, and tchotchskes. some older lady was leading a meditation session for several people in a room on the bottom floor.
sometimes there's chickens and peacocks 🦚 roaming around, but they never let me touch them, which is super lame 😆. no stars removed because it's a universally known fact that peacocks are total jerks.

We stumbled across this on a drive from TX to CA. It’s tucked away and a little difficult to find. It has wonderful views, lots of cute dogs, and a neat gift shop. We had a lovely chat with Sam, who also recommended the more scenic Highway 80, which was lovely! There was the option for a paid tour, which we didn’t do. Either way, it’s a great place to get out and stretch your legs.

The gentleman who runs the tower is lovely-friendly and helpful. In addition to telling us about the tower and boulder park, he told us about other cool things to visit in the area. Would recommend visiting if your headed out the I8, rather than making this a destination. Gets windy and cold in the spring so bundle up!

Great stop between Arizona and San Diego. Awesome view of the Imperial Valley. Great place to get out stretch maybe have lunch. Picnic tables. This is a private area and the owners are really nice. Cool eclectic shop and fun little cave boulder hike to crawl around in. Keep young kids close. There are cholla cactus and small crevices that kids could find them selves up against. Plan on spending at least a 1/2 hour. Tickets are required to go to the top of the tower and boulder path. Clean bathrooms. If you do not do the Tower or boulder caves, it is free. Consider a donation though.

Loved this place, I reviewed it under another name already. We just happened to see it while driving by. We stopped to check it out. The gift shop was closed, I believe because a hurricane was coming. There were people there who lived on the property, either owners or caretakers. They were very nice, let us walk thru the cave/Boulder trail for free (tho I left a donation in the box). They had beautiful well behaved dogs. We saw a couple of peacocks, the guew was awesome and the cave walk and carvings were cool. I am sorry I missed the gift shop, would Def stop again if I was in the area. It was a nice break from driving. I believe you can go in the tower when it's open, but even from the outside it was nice.

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is a massive wilderness area that boasts an abundance of hiking trails, wildflowers, trees, shrubs, and cacti. It's considered one of the richest natural-history museums in the nation and features stunning desert vistas that are unmatched in their privacy and beauty. Camping opportunities abound for those seeking a more secluded experience, with plenty of space to explore off the beaten path.
We loved our stay at Blair Valley. We got a beautiful campsite. It is a wonderful time of the year to visit. There is so much to see here. The desert is in full bloom this time of year. Will definitely return.

Beautiful slot - but NO signs as to how long and/or if it was round trip. The state park magazine said 1.5 miles round trip - but it was actually closer to 3 and there were 2 other groups down there trying to figure out if they should turn around or if the trail would loop back. Both ways worked, but there was no sign and no obvious way out.

We had a wonderful excursion at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It was so delightful to see the dry desert come alive in swathes of bloom as far as the eye could see
... all the way to the foothills. A glorious sight.
These were grouping of a variety of plants in colors of yellow, white, magenta, orange, and purple. Also, cactus blooming in some areas. The interesting, rusty giant metal sculptures of varying creatures were so fun to see. Make sure your first stop is at the states visitor center to get the scoop on the current bloom sites, the history, reliable maps, botanical display, hikes, and see an interesting film. It will assure you get the most out of your visit.

I love primitive camping and backpacking in Southern Anza-Borrego. Quiet serene, lots of big boulders and Ocotillos.
I used to say the desert was mostly a wasteland, but I've learned so much about life in the desert the past 7 years. From water sources to seeing humming birds and dragon flies. The plants, the animals and the history.
There's so much to experience.
Avoid Mid June - Mid Sept due to heat. Winter is never too cold.

Nice area, can be warm and a bit breezy, with good roads. There is wonderful visitor center with lots of interesting books and info. It even has an informative short movie and the gift shop. You can buy food or bring a picnic and enjoy the park in the center of town that is dog friendly, has restrooms, and the kids can play.

An extraordinary desert with miles and miles to explore. There is so much stuff in this state park to discover, you will need weeks to enjoy everything it offers. From spectacular dark nights for star gazing to a natural Oasis in the middle of dry land. Miles and miles for off road vehicles to enjoy. A BLM shoot area nearby to bring your guns and shoot whatever it is that you shoot. Deceloped campsites are abundant and primitive campsites are also around. Tons of RV glamping for your enjoyment. Bring water as it can get pretty hot very quick, and please keep your dogs hydrated and cooled.
I recommend visiting:
- The wind caves if you have high clearance vehicle and 4x4.
- Borrego canyon camp site. Walk a mile in to find the Oasis
- Slot canyon. No off road or 4x4 needed here. Bring a camera for sure!
- Tamerisk Grove campground for cabin sleeping, but you must bring your own sleeping pad.
- Drive up to Julian (outside of Anza borrego state park, just about 39 miles west) if you have time, but do it in the early part of the day as most shops and restaurants close earlier than normal.
- If you have dirt toys bring them, the Ocotillo off road area is just phenomenal.

I thoroughly enjoy this, the largest state park in CA. The wild flowers are beautiful this winter. Amazing state park! We didn't even get to see everything but the parts we saw were so beautiful! Font's Point at sunset was so gorgeous but you definitely need 4 wheel drive to get there. The slot canyon hike was great. Visitor center was nice and the staff there were super helpful in helping us choose which hikes to do and how to get there. The Palm Canyon Oasis trail was absolutely gorgeous and 100% worth taking the time to hike. Can't wait to come back someday!

Great place, from the various palm oases to the statuary field (which I will separately rate) and more. And, most of it's free! Note: if you're driving a rental-car company SUV with highway tires, take seriously the off-highway roads with "loose sand" signs.
Steve Smith — Google review
Since this is the largest state park in California, expect to do a lot of driving. The area is surrounded by mountains and desert floors. There are numerous washes throughout, but there's very few signs from the road to give you a warning where it is. By the time you see the small sign in the wash, you've gone too far and have to turn around.
We stayed at Tamerisk Grove CG but probably should've stayed at the Palm Canyon CG due to size limitation. There's also over 500 miles of road for free boondocking with 30-day stay per calendar year
We did see the Truckhaven Rock area, Font Point overlook, and hiked the Slot Canyon out to the Borrego Badlands. Excellent spots if you have a couple of days.
While not part of the park, we did visit almost all of the large sculptures seen around the city of Borrego Springs.
We have a 4x4 pickup truck but not high clearance. Recommend it for some of the more technical roads. Most washes were fine with just a 4x4 vehicle.
We recommend visiting this park if you happen to be in the area.

Beautiful park. Drove there to go hike the palm canyon trail, and I can say that the drive itself is worth it even if I had not done the hike. After the sun set, I was able to see the stars very clearly. It was a breathtaking moment as you cannot see a starry sky like this in most cities. This park forever holds a spot in my heart for the experience it gave me and the stars it showed me.
Galleta Meadows is a unique desert sculpture park located along the Southern California S-3 highway in Borrego Springs. Created by artist Ricardo Breceda, the park features over 130 massive metal sculptures known as "Sky Art." These sculptures include creatures such as elephants, raptors, dinosaurs, mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, serpents, horses, and even a sloth.
Galleta Meadows is an awesome place to visit in Borrego Springs with animal and human sculptures spread across the town and valley. There close to 100 sculptures of animals and humans and it is truly an incredible collection of art sculptures with many appearing life like. Great for photo opportunities and can easily spend a few hours to see and try to find all the sculptures, but well worth it.

Lovely little drive (came through Julian entrance). Make sure you bring extra water because it gets HOT! The statues are wonderful to look at. You can google the locations of them all beforehand and screenshot the map since service tends to get lost since this is a remote area in the desert. The dragon is by far the largest sculpture. Some of the sculptures are accessible by walking only since some of the dirt roads have been blocked off to preserve the area. Also, some of the dirt roads are very bumpy with deep holes so make sure you drive carefully or take a 4x4.

Sculpture in the Meadows run through Borrego Springs both North and South of the roundabout in town. You can drive up to many to get a close view and see the beautiful and detailed works of the artists. This is a must do in the area and worthwhile time spent viewing.

The sculptures are amazing. The amount of detail is incredible. The road getting there is rough at times. But absolutely worth the drive. The serpent alone is worth the drive. And it's free

What a fun place to explore and I don't even think we saw everything. I guess there is bunch of different Metal Sculptures thru out Borrego. The dragon one is cool and the scorpion and cricket one is pretty cool. The scorpion you can actually drive up to and some other animals. The dragon..no they have it stringed off but you can walk up close to it and take pics. We drove off to another road and saw a hawk or eagle one and horses. Half a day trip then enjoy the small town they have there.

Loved being able to get up close to most of the sculptures. Some are closed off to vehicles now and it was too hot to walk out to them. Very impressive!

Wonderful place to visit is definitely worth going during the daytime. Because at night or closer to dark you can't see much

This is such a neat place! There are many different sculptures spread across the desert. It’s private land but the owner generously allows visitors to come experience the sculptures, and it’s free to visit.

Really cool place that you can drive up to and take pictures of all the sculptures. If your in the Borrego Springs area, it's a must see especially with how easy it is to access and check out. Definitely find a map of all the sculptures and save yourself some time!

What’s not to like? These sculptures are scattered all over this massive park. You don’t have to see them all, but use them as little stopping points on your way to other things.

“I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the charming town of Borrego Springs. After finishing my activities, I decided to venture out and stumbled upon the enchanting Galleta Meadows Estate. The estate boasts a collection of stunning and one-of-a-kind sculptures scattered throughout the area. It was truly a mesmerizing experience to walk amidst these artistic wonders. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend paying a visit to witness these beautiful sculptures firsthand.”

Spectacular metal sculptures all over the place. We only visited 53 while more than 100 should be out there. Some Google Maps coordinates of certain sculptures are not correct. But that is not a real problem, because you will see most of them from a distance!

Nice little place for a rest and sight see some awesome art sculptures if you are in the Borrego area.
I was there during some beautiful rainy weather :-)

It was really cool. You can see all metal sculptures by driving in the area except the dragon!

Amazing spot for some night photography, unfortunately I may have dropped my memory cards at the scorpion or serpent.
Still a great (and eerie) experience attempting to get the right shot in pitch black and dead silence!

Going back to Vegas I decided to make a detour & check this place out. I love it's pretty random & unique. The sculptures were cool.

It was a cool experience. Seeing all those metal sculptures. I really like the reddish color of the sculptures. Especially nice when the sun hits them.
The Eagle Mining Co. is a historical gold mine that allows visitors to explore its tunnels, pan for gold, and purchase souvenirs. The tour includes information about the stamp mill, mercury processing and recovery, ecological effects of mining, and the daily life of miners who worked by candlelight under tons of rock.
We had a great time! The tour guide was nice, extremely knowledgeable, and really helped us have fun. It was really cool going into and through the mining tunnels. We had a few great photo ops, and the kids were extremely excited when they found gold after panning themselves. (Yes there was actual gold in there, but no you don't get to keep what you pan. They have souvenirs inside to buy if you would like to take some home.) There is also a great picnic area to sit and eat at. I definitely will go back again.

Very friendly and informative tour guides. Mathew was our guide and has a ton of info about the history, archeology, and mined quartz separation process for mining gold. Educational, historic, and fun.

This is an excellent gold mine tour. The guides are very knowledgeable and provide in depth answers to all of your questions. The tour exceeded my expectations. A definite must see while in the area.

We had such a great time touring the Eagle Mining Co. Paul was so knowledgeable and engaging the entire tour. It was so much fun for my 6 and 9 yr old to explore the old mine and pan for gold.
They learned so much and had a blast doing it.
We’re so glad we came up on a weekday because it was just like getting a private tour.
We’re going to highly recommend to our friends with kids. It was great family fun!
Christy Yohe — Google review
All-in-all, it was an enjoyable time. The mine is worth going into if you’ve never experienced such a thing. Our family of eight of all ages enjoyed it (a family price would have been nice - ours worked out to $93 for all of us, and I’m not sure it was worth *that* much).
But the experience was good.
I would give five stars, but the staff seemed to have great angst amongst themselves. At one point, I actually wondered if it was part of the show. But as we continue on the tour, it was clear that they just have some struggles amongst themselves, which the tour guide kept bringing up (talking about “the boss”). Our guide was clearly under the influence. She wasn’t dangerous or anything, but it did make me think once or twice while hundreds of feet into a mine. I’m also sure that we likely missed some information from what the other guide(s) was saying. We kept bumping up into the group ahead of us, which implied to me that our guide was not giving the same amount of information. She was very nice and patient with our kids and another party’s nervous dog, but her constant complaining about “the boss” was weird.
Regardless, I’m glad we went. Recommended if you’re in the area for other Julian attractions.

Matthew was our tour guide and it was amazing! We got a private tour with just me, my boyfriend and Matthew. We didn’t know what to expect going into it, but he made the tour so great, humorous, informative, and truly interesting! Thank you Matthew! Would highly recommended .

Truly informative. The little kids are going to like the trinkets in the gift shop and panning for gold more than the tour, but older kids and the adults will enjoy seeing the inside of a mine preserved much the was it was when it was shut down.
Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. He taught us about the stamp mill, the mercury processing and recovery, ecological impacts of mining, the way life was inside the mine. Example: everything was by candlelight. Toiling away in the dark and under tons of rock. Those miners were hardy people.

Best overview of the gold mining process I have ever heard! Took this day trip to Julian from Palm Springs. Enjoyed a very diversely scenic drive through giant welded sculptures, dune buggies, desert, to forest. Indulged in some most delicious pie on the main street. A fun and educational experience.

I had a great time touring the mine and learning about the history of Julian. I stopped in on a whim and it ended up being the best part of my trip to Julian. The tour guide was fun and engaging. I wish I remembered his name so I could give him credit. There is gold panning and a small gift shop with tons of rare rocks and minerals.

I unfortunately forgot our tour guides name today, but he was so nice and knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information and definitely told us a lot of history about the mine and a lot about the tools, everyone was friendly and nice here and the tour was about an hour long, very informative for all ages. Can’t imagine what these miners went through. It was a great experience and I would recommend families to go, kids think going in a mine is cool and it’s cool to show them Minecraft but in real life!

Rick was our tour guide, he was the best! It was such an awesome tour. Very informative, educational, fun, I can't say enough great things. Cool old tools & vehicles to look at around the property. The mine has so much history. He explained & taught us how to pan for gold. Seeing all the quartz, veins, mining tools & tracks, earthquake fault lines was unbelievably cool. Rick took his time to explain everything & answers all questions. Make sure you tip this man at the end for doing an oustanding job. The owner was really friendly & welcoming. Showed everyone the clean restrooms. Would highly recommend. What a great day!

Lions Tigers & Bears is a non-profit organization that aims to provide a safe and protected environment for abused and mistreated animals. The organization relies on the dedication of volunteers who often have other jobs but still support the mission. Visitors can take a two-hour informative tour and donate the admission cost towards helping the animals. Additionally, there is an online Wishlist available if visitors wish to bring donations to contribute towards their cause.
Great place to learn about the animals they have there. Even with the two fences, the small groups setting allowed us to get some great views. The 2 hour tour was perfectly timed and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

What an amazing experience!! Getting to see these animals up close and was breathtaking. All the animals are so well cared for. My husband and I were able to feed Louie the lion and Suri lioness, Nola the white tiger and Conga a super cute leopard. So cool!! Beautiful property. Our tour guide was kind, very informative, knew so much about each animal and answered all of our questions. Had such an amazing time.

Love the mission of this non-profit. It makes you feel good to see so many volunteers dedicating their time and efforts to these animals. Some of these volunteers have other Monday-Friday jobs, but they are there to support the mission. These animals deserve to live the rest of their life in a safe and protected environment. They have been abused, mistreated, and some left to die. The two-hour tour was very informative and we learned a lot. After the tour they allowed us to roam and revisit any encounters we liked to see again. The cost for admission is for a good cause, it's a donation to help these animals. They also have a Wishlist on their site, if you wish to bring donations.

This was such a phenomenal experience! Because of the weather we didn't get to see the bears but just another reason to come back! Bonus because of the weather our group was super small so it felt like a private tour! The staff are so kind, so knowledgeable, & it is clear the primary focus of the sanctuary is the animals well being & education, not pandering/entertaining the public. The work they are doing is so important & it was an entertaining & educational outing!

We had a good start of our day in Alpine out with the lions tigers and bears and what a nice time. We had a tour guide who was very informative (I couldn’t get a video without someone talking) my only grumble… personal pet peeve. :) We left thankful the money we spent is all for these beautiful animals to have a safe life. My 16 year old wanted to obviously pet and play with these beauties.. and if we can go to a place where we can do this we need to pay attention to why.. (sedation?) is what I learned.
The enclosures allow for you to watch these beautiful creatures roam their homes. I would suggest if you have younger toddlers who are less likely to be able to listen to the “no running” you might be want to give them another year to have them really enjoy this great piece of land.

Amazing. This place should not exist but because people think it would be cool to have a wild animal as a pet then realize they can't handle it anymore, this place is the animals safety net to live out their days. Thanks Bobbi and all your volunteers for giving these animals their best life after the hell they have been through. For those interested, this place is a top notch experience and incredible facilities for both animals and us humans. They even have one you can pet. Tom was a good boy.
Viejas Casino & Resort is a well-appointed hotel with various dining options and complimentary Wi-Fi. The establishment boasts of a seasonal outdoor pool where guests can relax and unwind. In addition to the exceptional slot machines, the New Year's celebration held at the casino was an enjoyable experience for all attendees. The staff members are highly professional, while parking can be slightly inconvenient; however, free valet services are available to alleviate this issue.
This was my first stay at the willow hotel & spa, and let e tell it was the best stay ever. I got the suite it was beautiful very clean I loved everything about the suite very comfortable. Every time I come here I feel like they have new games. I have a service dog and it was pretty strict coming in. I’m glad they are taking extra steps to not allow PETS inside. They also provided me with a medical band in case something happens they know right away. I love spending the nights in their rooms and bingo is a lot of fun, just wish the hall was attached to the main building.

My wife and I love Viejas. We have been staying at your hotel, both regular and the willow for years. We just spent the night at the willow on 3-24 to 3-25. I guess we spent over 2500.00 this time. I would venture to say we have spent over 30,000 over time at your resort. The grove steakhouse is also one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego and we love it. Last night we had a different experience. We ordered oysters. As a former professional chef, I know that oysters kill more people than all foods combined and need to be treated carefully. the oysters that we were served were "scary" shriveled up in the shell, obviously dead and should have been thrown away. Any professional chef would have never served them. It was insulting. The rest of the food was great the lamb was cooked perfectly and my wife's lobster tail was ok. When the check came we discovered that the frozen lobster tail was 150.00. The wholesale price for a frozen lobster tail at most is 20.00. As a Chef when you mark up prices for food items you multiply by 3. Food cost, labor and over head. That lobster tail should have been prices at 60.00. I can even go as far as 75.00 to be fair. When we saw the bill we were shocked that it was 150.00. I asked the the manager Raphael, he was pleasant and tried to help us. Our server swore that she told us the price 2 times. Her name is Toni. She is a liar. My wife and I spend thousands of dollars dining out and we know our stuff. At some point the "manager" Rosemary got involved and told us she was going to call security if we pressed the issue further. I am absolutely mortified that after the money I have spent at you casino that my wife and I would be treated this way. I have not posted this online yet and I would prefer not to. You have my contact information and I would appreciate a call please.

I had a special offer for a birthday bash that was great. My daughter came with me and we enjoyed champagne, cupcakes, live music, a photo booth, and outstanding fireworks. We played in the casino until 11:30 and spent the night in the hotel. The room was very nice and the bed quite comfortable. Only two things could have made the stay better — winning a jackpot and turning the heat up in the casino.

Out of the way casino with a nice hotel. The staff is pleasant. It would be more convenient if it was closer to San Diego, but blame that on the US Government's treatment of Native Americans. If the land was nicer, they just would have moved them further away and kept it for themselves.

Quick getaway for my birthday with the wife. We come here maybe twice a year. Had an issue with our room not being ready, so they moved us to the Willows Hotel. That’s what you call making it right! Wow this hotel is amazing. We were put in a suite with direct access to the pool from our room. You can really tell the staff works hard to make the rooms immaculate. Felt like everything was brand new. Separated into rooms, two tvs, comfy couch, comfy king bed (I am picky), huge bathroom/shower, stocked fridge (complimentary).I was going yo go buy a toothbrush cause I forgot mine, but there was one, with toothpaste in the drawer. Ranks up there with the nicest rooms we have ever stayed at. Staff was friendly as well. Didn’t win in the casino, but the room felt like one. We’ll be back soon.

Just stayed there the other night for our 15th anniversary and while our previous stays over the years have been good, our stay this time was horrible. There was no hot water in our room and we had to take cold showers. I don't understand why a place like this wouldn't have HOT water figured out.

The room was tampered with upon our return even when we had a do not disturb sign on the door. The atmosphere is nice if you're only looking to play the slots without winning. Clean rooms. Service was excellent, except for the room service, Dine in food. Now don't get me wrong, everything about our stay was spot on from Valet, check in, bell service, accommodation's, quick service, friendly staff, etc...
It was just how food was prepared for dine in room service. The omelets we ordered were spot on delicious. The toast had a burnt smell to it, but wasn't burnt. Coffee tasted week. Bacon was killed, burnt to a crisp. And I do mean "CRISP!" Sausage was also over cooked. And we had to call back for butter for the toast. They were all dry. And the yogurt parfait were very good.
So, I would give Viejas a 8.5 out of 10 stars.
Great place to go for a get away! Just if your going to have breakfast or dinner, I would go to their restaurants, or the new grab and go! Didn't even think about this new place inside. Its a great little place to grab a quick bite, And they even have tables to sit and relax at while you enjoy your snack, Or meal.

I booked an appointment for December. They called me some time after I booked it, I didn’t answer and within 10 minutes, refunded me on a card that I lost. I immediately called them; they told me they would call me back to fix the issue. They never did. I called them 4 times, left several voicemails. I never heard back. I called the camp grounds. Again, never heard back. I emailed both the zip line email and the campground email. The zip line email bounced back. The campground never replied. If they don’t reply soon, unfortunately I’ll have to take them to court for my refund. It’s been two months and I’ve been patient. This is really disappointing as I try to be understanding and accommodating but I can’t be if they literally will not return my calls.

In the high 90’s so we booked a early trip to get done before noon. Wear sun tan lotion and they supply the water. I would suggest listening very well about the stop positioning. I have done zip lines in Hawaii on two other occasions and this stopping system is very different. The stop is much faster than one would think.

Awesome experience! Highly recommend. The staff was really nice, friendly and extra patient with me.. I have a physical disability yet that was no impediment to go on this adventure. I went to celebrate my best friends birthday and it was simply amazing.

The staff were knowledgeable, professional, and took safety seriously. I have been zip lining a few times but this was one of the better experiences. I would recommend this to anyone that likes the outdoors or wants a thrill. Well worth it.

Great local experience if you are up to a bit of an adrenaline rush here and there. About 90 min from San Diego, La Jolla area via scenic drive on local backroads lies the thrill of the gorgeous 3 zip lines at the outskirts of Mt. Palomar.
The young crew that made sure all of this happens smoothly, without hiccups was highly entertaining, more than helpful and obsessed with safety of participants, just the way I like it, considering we had 2 teenagers in the party. They were were friendly and constantly tested our knowledge of zip line flying and breaking/'landing', which is crucial for pleasent experience.
Three times of 45 seconds of 'free flight' (well, almost) that you will never be able to forget!

The staff all have great positive energy and love their job my friends all loved the zip line. I personally didnt get to go cause I was 6 pounds too fat, maybe next time. But the waiting was nice down by the stream, so peaceful and relaxing. A very beautiful land.

Beautiful views and wonderful staff. I always look for a spot that has the best views. The stream was nice to zip over. I just wish they had more than 3 lines.

Fun! Fun! Fun! Located in the La Jolla Indian Campground, ZZZip would make a great half day trip or if you wish to camp or RV, this could be a great weekend getaway. During the summer you can rent a tube and float along the St Luis Rey River also. Reservations are needed that can be booked online. The guides were extremely wonderful. Melissa, Joe and everyone else were very helpful and knowledgeable. For safety, high winds may limit your experience due to uncontrollable mother nature. Overall, this zip was hip and pip and given a tip.

Took my son and his friends for an overnight camping, tubing and zip line birthday celebration. A great time. The people working at La Jolla Zip Zoom were all very friendly, professional, efficient and fun. Great marks on customer service. Even greater marks on the amazing zip lines. If you can I recommend going the day before ($35 for a tent site), spend the afternoon tubing in the river, then a zip line adventure in the morning. You get a discount ~$25 off if you are a camper.
Barona Resort & Casino is a great place to stay if you're looking for an adventure outside of San Diego. The resort is located on a large piece of land, and offers beautiful gardens and rolling hills as well as lakes and pools. There are plenty of activities available at the hotel, including golfing, tennis, horseback riding, and fishing. Guests can enjoy fine dining in the restaurants or relax in one of the luxurious spa treatments.
They went all out to create a beautiful hotel and casino that would not only satisfy locals but those with above average taste. The design of the buildings are very elegant and the property layout is well planned. Service was of a very high standard. The moment you turn into the property, you are greeted by a guard waving and welcoming you, Valet is available or feel free to find your own parking spot. There are plenty of spaces due to the size of the property. A walk through the hotel on the second floor takes you to the casino entrance. Everything was very clean and the casino is non smoking. Plenty of beverage carts to serve you as well. I wasn't so lucky today so I did lose some money but I had fun trying to win.

Everyone is super friendly and accommodating.
Smoke free casino floor and everything is VERY clean .
I loved every minute of my stay.
The food is great and spectacular service.
The drive in can be a little tricky if you are unfamiliar with the roads so I would suggest you drive in during daylight your 1st trip.
Good luck and enjoy the place and people !!!!!

By far the best casino! Clean because it’s non smoking. Excellent cleaning service. Everything is always immaculate. The machines and restrooms. Service is also by far the best. You’re greeted before you walk in and after you enter. Drink service is always easy to find. They walked around with full service drink carts. You don’t have to order and wait for a drink. Although no alcohol served on the floor. Cashiers also walk around to cash tickets or get change. My favorite casino to visit.

The Casino it self has very friendly and helpful host. The place is super clean. The workers make sure of it.
When playing on the Casino floor make sure you play the slot machines as they make the most points for your Club Card. As for the Table Games.....they Don't give your Club Card every many points. Even though you spend a lot of you money or time there. So every Casino is different in there points for their Club Cards.
But the food court is Awesome 😎👍.

Rating the casino only. First of all, the casino is totally non-smoking. I love that, and give ownership kudos on willingness to do that. On top of that, it's the cleanest casino I've ever been in...casino floor, machines, restrooms, everything. Staff is very friendly. My experience, in 3 visits, is that the slots have better frequency of payouts than most casinos I've been in in other parts of the country.

I love how classy and clean the Casino is. The staff are always smiling and helpful. I like playing the slots. I hope the Buffet opens back up soon. I miss it! Loosen up your slots! My birthday is coming up at the end of March! I need to go have some fun! I love Barona Casino!

The cleanest casino I've ever been in. The air is fresh and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Although we didn't win much at least the slots allows you to enjoy playing for hours. ATM's are free. The food court was amazing. We absolutely loved our time there.

Really nice casino and everyone was friendly and pleasant to speak with! Great range of games all throughout. Only downside is they still haven't reopened their bar since covid. Makes for a downer if you had a night out with friends for some drinks. Would be great location to get away from everything!

Took my son since he's now 18. He won right before we were about to leave! The staff is very friendly, it is non-smoking, and very clean. They do have designated smoking areas from what I read online. Next time we visit we're going to try the restaurant. I would highly recommend visiting. The drive was also nice on the way there.

Barona Casino & Resorts is another amazing place to visit, I live and have an hour and a half drive from the casino…love the drive there. As soon as you walk through the doors to enter the casino you get a warm welcome from team members..saying welcome home, and Barona lives up to that name. Parking is always great, with the convenience of a disability station with scooters to assist if you need some special attention. The staff at the players club desk are polite, friendly and continue to make you visit feel like home. Always had a great time at Barona especially if you play and the slots, tables and experience are very nice…winning is very good as well. If you play one thing about Barona is you never will go hungry cause of the food vouchers accepted at all food ventures, bakery and coffee shop…the coffee is the best I’ve tasted so far. If you are planning a stay, the hotel staff well get you squared away..as I mentioned already in my review the rooms are comfy, clean, secure and make you really feel like home..don’t forget to grab a cup of that good Barona coffee in the lobby. Also if you play the rewards are great at the casino. I hope this review will provide some assistance in decision making to visit Barona..you will definitely have the time of you life. I would highly recommend this casino.

I can't rate the rooms because I only went for the day to gamble. But guest services (Tom) was an amazing employee when he was signing my mother up for her players card. He's fun, nice and very informative. So many laughs while taking care of us. Made us feel very comfortable and ready to play!
I love the fact that it's a smoke-free casino and good food options in the food court. A beautiful casino floor overall.
I will be returning soon!

We always enjoy going to Barona and have been treated like family there for years. The staff is wonderful. The hotel is really nice. The food is very good, especially excellent in the steakhouse. We love the Indian frybread in the cafe! We especially appreciate that they are staying smoke free in the casino. It makes the time playing in the casino so much more pleasant. It's our "go to" place in the San Diego area.

We enjoy staying up here for a quiet night away. The duck pond is nice to sit by and it's peaceful out around the golf course at night.
If we want to enjoy some excitement, a walk over to the casino is fun. It's non smoking, exceptionally clean, and I don't think I've ever experienced a more friendly staff at a casino.
Just an overall enjoyable experience.

Besides the fact that they give the least amount of free play to regulars, or to me I should say, who is a regular, they really do have the cleanest casino of them all. Good variety of slots, and table games, I’ve won several large jackpots here, and the staff is pretty great. Also have the best food court out of all the sd. Definitely worth the drive

Very clean (no smoking) casino, exterior grounds and property well maintained. Restrooms clean and well stocked. Staff is super friendly. Loved the waving greeters. Very large assortment of newer slot games. Big gaming floor. Most comps are for diamond players. Recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about this place and the staff. I was treated like I owned the place. The room was large and comfy. Step in shower AND a tub. Housekeeping was very accommodating. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The casino was clean and had a large selection of food places. Very reasonable food prices! I was so impressed with every interaction I had with staff. They truly made me feel welcomed and that they were happy to help me with any request. A real gem!!

I don't gamble or stayed at the hotel, but I live in the area and I always enjoy driving up there. It's calming on days I just need to get out of the house. I walk around and hang at the food court. You hear the typical sounds of a casino, but it's never annoyingly loud. It has a pretty laid back atmosphere actually. I love their food court, particularly the dog stand and ice cream. Good prices for good simple food. I'd like to stay at the hotel one day which is why I only give it 4 stars. I can't say anything about the hotel 🤷♀️ they also have lots of parking there too so you'll never really have issues finding a spot.

I didn't stay in the hotel but did walk around the casino. Very clean and the staff is friendly. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Plant of areas to eat. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant and the food was amazing. They have cameras overlooking the cooks and you get to see how they prepare the food. Very nice experience overall. Not kid friendly.

Did you know Barona Casino is the only casino that is smoke-free? Not only that, their scooters are free to use. I knowwww no brainer, right? The food court is very good and has a variety of delicious food items. The one fault I have is that the better restaurants are only for the diamond and higher customers, which I find is arrogant and elitist. How much more income they could realize if it opened up to the regular customers. What a waste. Overall, it is a good place to visit and maybe win some cash. Hope to see y'all there, just don't win all the money, leave some for me. See you there 👍.

I haven’t been to this Casino In 6 or 7 years definitely before Covid. What set This casino apart from the other ones it was so kid friendly anyone under the age of 18 could stay in the hotel and walk the casino floor before 8pm now no one is allowed under the age of 18 and was so much fun packed on the Weekends and the slot were actually loose. Now my parents go maybe twice a year and always say the casino is empty and it’s a shame. Even back then you could purchase a room now the rooms in the hotel are set aside for the higher card members at least other casino sale rooms on a night basis and I rather go there instead of driving up to Barons from LA

The room was beautiful! So clean and fresh. Nice view over a small waterfall with surrounding plants. I loved it. Best thing!!! SMOKE FREE!!! The staff was very helpful, courteous and had no problem with answering questions. Quick and efficient! Location is good. Its not to far yet away from the everyday grind. My friend and I had a blast while enjoying a much needed reprieve. To say we had a lovely time was probably an understatement. Wished I'd taken pictures.

We went to the casino only. It was most orderly and clean. The bathrooms were impressively clean. The staff was very polite and helpful. A nice food offering at the food court, although most items were overpriced in my book. There was no sports book that I could find, about the only less than excellent thing I could come up with. Although it's over 20+yrs old, it has been kept up to date extremely well. There was plenty of parking too. I really liked that it was no smoking in all main areas. There IS a dedicated smoking lounge for those intent on killing themselves slowly. It was an excellent way to spend some time. Both my wife and I won at the slots, yet another plus... 👍👍👍

I’ve been coming to this place for a decade. It was my favorite place in San Diego by far. The hotel is quaint and quiet, they have plenty of the exact games I like, and their staff is very friendly. A key to me continuing to come back is this felt like the only place around with fair payouts. With gambling, losing is part of the game. On average, I used to win big one out of 3 visits. It leveled out to where I was a Platinum member, with awesome Resort benefits. About a year ago, I noticed the machines had tightened up. Hard to get bonuses with zero payouts. This has happened on the trips for the past yea now. Everyone around me was complaining about payouts today, so I know it’s not just me. Once a buzzing casino floor with cheers and laughter is now comparable to a library. It’s quite different than when I first came here. Even my host confirmed the uptick of complaints because of the low payouts.
Since the payouts have been less, I have been coming less. My status was lowered to Gold. In order to get back to my old level, I would need to gamble about $7,000 in a month. This is my last stay here for the unforeseeable future. Gambling is a risk, but at this point I don’t feel the need to just burn my money in the machines. It’s a bummer that this place has declined.

It's a very nice.. well put together establishment. The attendants are super friendly and helpful... I try to come back whenever I can. Also if you spend a little money in the casino... I would say that you are almost guaranteed to hit a jackpot of little or big proportion.... Depending on the amount you spend.
Jamul Casino is a versatile entertainment hub that offers both table games and slot machines. The casino also features live music and a variety of dining options, including a steakhouse with scenic rural views. With excellent ambiance, diverse culinary choices, and attentive staff, Jamul Casino promises an enjoyable experience for all visitors.
I've been to quite a few casinos and live close to Pechanga. It's a really nice one but this one hit on an entirely different level. Just upon arriving you can see how absolutely beautiful it is. Everything is updated, valet is free and the employees there were the first ones we saw. They made an incredible first impression. Going through the door, the security officer greeted us and asked for my ID (which made me feel young so thank you!!). My goodness I was in such awe when we got upstairs even as a smaller casino it is SO grand. Pictures don't do it justice. I love the intimate feel. I love that every single employee was above and beyond. They perks they offer are awesome! A discount with each person when you have a players card. I received a $20 dining credit, my boyfriend got $10 in free play he won about $70 with! It was seriously just and overall amazing time. I can't wait to be back.
A Mother's Day to remember

I am a huge fan of the Jamul Casino, but unfortunately, we had a negative experience with one of the operators. After arriving in San Diego, my husband and I were looking forward to dining at the steakhouse for brunch. We had previously spoken to a lovely woman on Easter who made accommodations for us. However, when I called today, the woman I spoke with informed me that I needed to make the reservation online. This was different from what we were told on Easter, when we were informed that we needed to make reservations with an operator for brunch. I explained this discrepancy to the operator named Brianna today, but she didn't seem interested in helping us. She was very abrupt and told me that her computer was rebooting constantly. Despite this, I remained patient and told her I would wait, but she seemed very frustrated as if she didn't want to assist us. Following this, she asked for my player card number, which I found strange since it wasn't requested during our previous reservation. At this point, it was clear that Brianna was very frustrated and didn't want to help me at all. This unfortunate event occurred on Sunday, the 14th at 1:30 AM. Despite this negative experience, everyone else we encountered at the casino was very nice and friendly, from the women who attended the restroom to the young man at the coffee shop, Cathy Pastry Chef and the wonderful waitress Jenna we had on Easter. I truly hope management addresses this issue with Brianna and I wish her better days. I apologize for calling so late, but this was the time we arrived in San Diego. Work is work, and I will be praying for Brianna.

We come to this casino weekly and have always had a great experience. We are at the Mexican restaurant and had the most unprofessional experience. My spouse had a promotion that gave credit plus a discount. We were told we can use one or the other, which we were fine with. The lady was extremely rude and called her “supervisor” who was even more unprofessional then her. We did not make a big deal nor did we ask for an explanation. He was rude and condescending to us. When I asked for his supervisor he stated “he was the supervisor and no other person in the casino is running the restaurant” and refused. There are several casinos in the area. This will definitely be the last time we come here. It is incisors to me that the poor leadership does not value their customers and I am sure do not care if they lose regular customers due to their lack of leadership training and unprofessional behavior.

Well I give it a five for my experience. I came here with some friends to attend a drag show on The Rooftop after dinner at Fusion. Dinner was good, the drag show was awesome and I only gambled for about twenty minutes and still can't out ahead. It was a good day.

Prime Cut Steakhouse was off the hook great venue with an amazing view, over the top service by Janine, food was very pleasing with large portions, and drinks were top shelf.
I recommend this place for a great change of pace from downtown. The starters were very eye appealing and tasty. Drinks I stuck to the whiskey and was pleased. Bison was very good cooked to medium and fries. Janine was an amazing server who knows the menu better than the chef.

I am in awe of the exceptional and extraordinary hospitality at this place, deserving of a perfect 10-star rating. From the moment we arrived, the valet offered us refreshing water, setting the tone for a remarkable experience. The guest services went above and beyond by presenting my friend with delightful birthday necklaces, making their special day truly unforgettable. The abundance of fantastic gifts and incentives for first-time visitors added to the joy of the occasion. I am immensely grateful that I chose this place to celebrate my friends' birthday, as every staff member we encountered took the time to wish them a happy birthday, creating a magical atmosphere.
