Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is a seasonal amusement park that provides rides suitable for all age groups. Along with the rides, visitors can also enjoy variety shows and dining venues. The park features several roller coasters including The Voyage, Thunderbird, Raven, and Legend which are highly recommended by coaster enthusiasts. Thunderbird is especially noteworthy as it is considered one of the best wing coasters in the United States with an impressive launch.
If you are a coaster enthusiast I highly recommend heading straight to The Voyage because the line backs up pretty quick. Thunderbird is the real gem of this park. Maybe the best wing coaster in the states? The launch is fantastic. The Raven has some great speed and it’s really cool that it takes you right next to a lake. The Legend was closed but I’m sure it is fantastic. You can tell the park really cares about their rides and keeps the park looking great. The free drinks are a really nice touch.

Hands down the BEST Waterpark. I LOVE the thoughtfulness that is put into thinking of Littles at this park. They have small, medium and large everything, from inner tubes to the water slides, to waves pools! The amusement park is great and just as thoughtful. Love this place so much, bought season passes, and we live over 4 hours away! So, that should say a lot!

Great amusement park and fantastic water park... not overly crowded and lines for rides are normally tolerable. We stay 2 days 1 day on park rides and one day in the water park. We always stay at lake Rudolf and ride the shuttle to and from the park. Great place for young and old alike! Lots of walking and several hills to climb! But worth it!

Kids of all ages love Holiday World. It is clean, safe, and a ton of fun. We go almost every year, but this year, we had fewer grown-ups in our group. With just 2 adults, it was hard to enjoy and please the kids with the height differences resulting in long wait times for both age groups until we split up. The food prices have jumped in the past couple of years so we packed our lunch and dinner. They have a nice picnic area by the car park (we parked in "The Legend" parking lot). We always buy tickets in advance for the discount. Happy Halloween Weekends is a fun and festive time to visit, but the water park is closed. They do offer free drinks and sunscreen. Take your debit/credit card because they have a no cash policy. And wear your walking shoes!!!

What an awesome amusement park, I can't wait to come back. The rides are high quality and the staff are top notch. Do not pass up a trip here, you won't regret it. I was here two days, and the first day The Voyage was closed all day but they got it open the second day which was awesome because so many other parks would just wait and fix it later but HW got it fixed overnight. What a fantastic experience that I can't recommend enough.
Graham Stiver — Google review
I might make mention of the admission cost... tickets were $62 ea. I have 4 children and 2 adults who attended. We got there in the mid afternoon and we're quite surprised by the fact that several rides were down due to "mechanical" or "Nature" reasons. The Thunderbird was closed. The Raven had a deer in the woods close to the tracks so it was temp closed. And when it reopened the line was so long that they quit taking passengers bc it was an hour before the park closed. The Bucameer closed due to a lap restraint issue. Getting to each ride is a brutal walk constantly going up and down steep hills on uneven walkways which are constantly bottlenecked. And one of the wave pools was closed for an unknown reason. The only other wave pool was super crowded and it felt like you were constantly bumping into someone and saying excuse me. Then when the waves did start it was impossible to enjoy it bc it was so crowded. The closings made all other venues extra long lines. At one point it was an hour and a half wait to get on the Legend and 45 min wait to get on water rides that held multiple (up to 6) people at once. It was ridiculous. I paid over $400 to take my family there for the day and was highly disappointed in the rides and availability of such. And the food, oh my Lord! It was $9 for an ice cream cone! A pizza to feed 4 was $39.99 +tx. One pizza! I know it's a tourist spot but c'mon people $40 for a pizza!?! (That only has 8 slices btw. Same size you would get from dominos but with only one topping. Extra toppings were $5.99 ea!!!) Very dissatisfied with the quality/value of food choices there. There was one saving grace for the entire trip, and that was the drone show. It began after the park closed and lasted about 15 minutes. I posted a short clip of it just enough to get the idea without spoiling the show for those who will visit from now to the end of July. It was totally the best part of the visit we had. I will say that all the park employees were very kind and helpful. The service was on par with just about any low to mid priced attraction. My children, of which we have 4 ,ranging in ages from 7 to 14, said it was the worst attraction we have been to. They were totally disappointed in everything, which in turn is reflected in my review here. As mentioned the only saving grace was the friendly staff and the drone show after the park closed. Worst venue to date. And all on a Monday.

We always have so much fun when we visit here. We are close to Six Flags in our area and even with the 3.5 hour drive we still spend less visiting Holiday World. We usually leave early enough to get there when they first open and stay all day before booking a room at one of the local hotels. The park is nice and spacious. The wait times for the rides are reasonable. Food and drink prices are lower in comparison to a lot of other places. I would say if you are looking for a fun, affordable, family trip Holiday World is the way to go.
Serene Johnson — Google review
We love Holiday World! Our family has been going there around 43 years!!! Used to be called Santa Claus. It has grown so much over the years. But it is still a family oriented, clean park. I like the fact that they do not serve alcohol...so you can go have fun without dealing with drunk people. You don't see rowdy behavior either. I think the admission price is reasonable and parking is FREE!
K Moore — Google review
This park is totally awesome for spending the day. It doesn’t have too many roller coasters (only five) but they are absolutely great (The Voyage is simply too good to describe it here). Besides, the water park is absolutely amazing, with tones of first class water coasters that will give you A LOT of fun. When I went, during the summer, parking was free and (yes) soda was free too, with several drinking stations across the whole park for you to go and simply grab what you want.
Alan Espinet — Google review
It’s a really awesome place. The roller coasters are amazing, as well as the water slides. I would really recognize coming here even if you’re afraid of riding roller coaster, as I was one of those people before coming to Holiday World. I wasn’t when I left, though.
Dmitry Novikov — Google review
What a gem! This is my family’s second time coming. The park is always so clean, and the staff are so helpful. We love the free beverage stations, my kids make sure to swing by the oasis every chance they get. The water park is so fun with lots to do for all ages. The dry parks are so fun too. Pro tip, don’t try doing it all in one day, come one day and buy a discounted pass for the following at the gate when you leave. The entire park is so picturesque. We will 100% be coming back!
Will Randel — Google review
We had a group of 8 people and had an absolute blast! They had all their Halloween stuff happening so we did the hay ride, corn maze and drone show (which was really cool). We will definitely be back!
Crystal D. — Google review
Great family oriented amusement park. As advertised, free parking, sunscreen, and soft drinks. Several areas for the younger guests to ride and play. The water park is large with many different slides, splash zones, and wave pools. There are wooden coasters for those who enjoy that type of ride. They also have a well versed genre of food courts to choose from including a Thanksgiving style meal. We were there on a Sunday the last week of July and the longest wait time was a little over 10 minutes.
Mark Worstell — Google review
This was my daughter and my first time here, and we had a blast. Age 4 is the limit for free entry, so be prepared for being your little one a ticket.
Must wear shoes, shirts, and shorts for entry into the theme park, which is where you enter the park, and the splashing safari part doesn't open till 11. I will post a picture of what I wore into the park day 2, and I had no issues. The only issue I had was the very last ride of they day when I was hooked into the wooden Rollercoaster in the Thanksgiving holiday part. She told me she would let me ride this time but next time I needed a shirt, but I had no issues entering the park from start and leaving the water park to go to the dry amusement part portion.
All together we had a wonderful time and will be coming back again.
Alyssa Nelson — Google review
A very fun place to go. You will need 2 days to do everything in both parks.
The 1 picture is the swings in Halloween land. The first one is Turkey whirl in Thanksgiving land. They are building more. Will have a Boomerang ride next year.

Our family had an AMAZING time! The rides were great, the variety of water slides are crazy! The park caters to all ages which is awesome, we have infant to 17 age range. There is something for everyone! Also the power went out in part of the park an hour before close and the park has offered another full day for each of us for free! The parking was hassle free, there are signs all throughout the park so it's easy to find things, there are bathrooms everywhere and drinks stations at every corner. Not to mention the park is so clean, there are staff everywhere to assist and very friendly. I'd give 10 stars if I could!

Went back in the beginning of July. We spent part of the day in the Waterpark before it rained. Holiday World has a policy if their rides are down for a certain time and reason, they will honor that days ticket for a future visit. We made our return trip on a weekend in mid August. (School is back in session so the park has weekend only operation at that time.) The park is beautifully maintained. Free parking (including spaces for EV), free sunscreen stations, free beverage stations. A small selection of awesome Rollercoasters and and even better Waterpark. Excited to return 2024 for the new coaster addition!

Been quite a few years since I've visited... Won't be that long again. Had a great time with the roller-coasters, Splashin' Safari and everything in between. Atmosphere was great and cleanliness was top notch. Highly recommend! Those roller-coasters are intense and no joke! Loved it!
Santa's Candy Castle is the world's first themed attraction, dating back to 1935 as part of Santa Claus Town. It was created to cater to families visiting in search of Santa Claus and was free for all visitors. The castle offers a nostalgic experience with a wide variety of blast-from-the-past candy choices, including unique popcorn flavors and tasty Ice Hot Cocoa. It's a must-visit for those looking to take a walk down memory lane and indulge in some classic treats.
A castle packed full of candy! What's not to like. This picturesque castle was built in 1935 and has been selling sweet treats ever since. When we went in the door my wife made a bee line for the counter with the frozen hot chocolate. It was incredible! It's made with their own chocolate and was the high light of the trip.
I collect small mint/candy tins and found almost a dozen that I didn't already have.
There are many old candy brands that I loved in my youth. They even have the non politically correct candy cigarettes. What fun!
There is a whole room of pez dispensers and another room dedicated to jelly bellys. We spent way too much money here and had a great time. Also the people working (owners?) Here were amazing friendly and helpful.

Frozen hot chocolate is worth the trip on its own. Starting to become a family tradition annually. Nostalgic candy blast from the past, this time of year my kids always pick out a Christmas book and the stuff is always so friendly and helpful about what else you may want to know about within the area.

really cool Candy store with an impressive inventory. roasted chestnuts over an open fire and learned about America history. these are great guys and a really cool building as well. definitely worth a stop if you're ever in the area

This is a great Candy store you will find candies that you haven’t seen in many years. The staff is awesome very friendly and helpful. The hot chocolate is delicious and the choice are great. If you are in the area this is a must. Everyone becomes a kid in a candy store all ages.

This was such an amazing place. The owner was fantastic. The selection of candy was 2nd to none. My daughter fell and he was right there with an ice pack! The iced hot chocolate was the most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted. This is a must stop place if your near holiday world.

Very cool place to go. Lots of different candy, some I haven't seen in YEARS. Only wish there were more handmade candies there.

Blast from the past candy choices! Super fun to see all the candies from when this Gen X'er grew up. We also got their Ice Hot Cocoa and it was tasty. Their popcorn flavor selections are interesting. We got the Chicago (Carmel corn & cheddar), popped right, with good flavor. Highly recommend stopping in for a little walk down memory lane.

Fun little stop for the kids while visiting the area . I've never seen so many Pez dispensers in my life !

Such a fun place to stop in on the way to Holiday World. Building is charming and well kept. Staff is friendly and there is plenty of free parking in gravel lot. Candy variety abounds and they have homemade goodies as well such as popcorn and frozen hot chocolate drinks. In store restrooms are much appreciated as we shopped. Given the building is so old there isn't really wheelchair safe access throughout. Oh and they have a fun gumball machine for $0.25 which my kids loved. Highly recommend a visit. We always leave with a bag full of goodies!

You have to visit if you're in the area! So many unique and nostalgic types of candy. Very large selection, too. They have a huge selection of hot chocolate flavors and unique popcorn and fudge flavors. There is a room full of various pez dispensers and a jelly belly room. The prices are VERY reasonable. The owner is super friendly and kind, and it's just right around the corner from Holiday World. The owner even asked us if there was any type of candy we were looking for that they didn't carry. We took a little break from the theme park when bad weather came in and stopped here. Excellent customer service. You just HAVE TO try the frozen hot chocolate. So delicious!! Highly recommend this place!

Better than any candy store I’ve been to in TN! If you like PEZ, they have plenty of choices! Grab some flavored popcorn or some fudge.

We took a step back into our childhood with some of the candy we used to get as a kid. This place was AWESOME!!! Staff was very fun to interact with. The FROZEN hot chocolate was amazing only down side is we couldn't buy it by the gallon but we HIGHLY recommend trying some. THANK YOU for the experience of your passion.

We took the beginners run that was 50, 250 and 1200 feet long and it was a blast. The kids loved it. There are 8 lines altogether with 6 of them staying in the canopy off the ground. Dale and Devin were very safety conscious and friendly. Trees everywhere and a lake to zipline over. Very cool.

They didn't show up to guide us. We even had reservations that were nearly 6 weeks prior to our scheduled time. It would've been nice to get a call that they wasn't available or something of the sort at least.

Don’t like to leave these type of reviews but went online to book the zip line for a trip with my daughter and website said online booking not available. Needed to call the number provided. Google address showed the business was open but after multiple calls and leaving voicemails, nobody ever picked up the phone or returned a call. Poor setup and customer service.

Eagles Wings is the best zip in the region! The facility is set in a peaceful, wooded canopy with Southern Indiana scenery at its best. Eagles Wings staff is well-trained, courteous and very professional. The crew went out of their way to ensure our comfort and make our tour successful.
Zips and equipment first-rate.
Highly recommend Eagles Wings!
Underground 5-mile hideout with its own streams for canoeing, gemstone mining, tours & a gift shop.
This was the first time for me to visit the cave with my family. The parking lot was full but I did find a spot within a couple of minutes. The process of buying the tickets was great, and I bought the two tours of the cave. The experience was great, the workers as well as the guides were all smiling and welcoming. Take in mind that the tours start every 30min and when you are done with the first one, you will probably have a 30min break before going to the second one. However, we have spent around 4-5 hours from arrival time until we left.
Ziyad SM — Google review
The cave itself is beautiful and definitely worth the visit. Between the two tours, we liked the Crystal Palace tour better due to the rock formations that you walked through. It would be nice if you could do both tours combined all at once rather than having to wait in between until the latter tour started (in our case around half an hour). Both of the tour guides were OK, but not great. Also, due to some lack of coordination/planning, both tours messed up the part of experiencing true total darkness (due to lights being on where another tour was going through, or prior lights not timing off right away). Finally, being privately owned rather than a state park, the commercialization aspect has a stronger presence felt than what I enjoy most at Indiana state parks.
David Riggleman — Google review
The cave was beautiful. We were a little disappointed that there were no crystals at Crystal Palace. I think you should clarify that. But I will definitely be back because it was amazing.
Nichole Triplett — Google review
The caves were great and the cave guides were lovely! The extra activities on site were ok and somewhat over-priced. We did pay for a $20 wristband for all the extra activities which is better then paying for each activity alone. I feel all activities except the gemstone mining and putt-putt golf should be included in the cave tour prices. Overall a great experience for my family! Would have loved to stay at the camp but did not get the chance.

Been here a few times, always enjoyed it!! I recommend the combo tour to see most of the cave . There is a crawling tour but has to be booked in advance. They have an excellent shop with lots of rocks and clothing. The staff has always been very friendly. I like to set on the porch and pet the old cat that lives here. They have cabins and kid activities, can definitely make a day of it here. I like to take new friends and acquaintance here as most people have never been in caves. I would advise packing a lunch an bringing bottled water and going early around 9am, there are some gas stations if you want to grab snack of food when there. They have restroom and they have always been very clean. There is also a trail and a sink hole to see.

We had a fantastic day trip to Marengo caves. The caves themselves were breathtaking, and the rest of the establishment was clean. The guides were knowledgeable and fun. Recommend getting tickets for the combo hike, as they are more reasonable. It’s perfect for families with kids, as both tours are kid friendly.
Tejas Ranadive — Google review
The showmanship on the tours is fantastic! The caves had a lot of cool formations, and the tour guide did a great job highlighting them all and making it fun. I was initially concerned how good it would be since 1) the price seemed a little steep ($20+ for the 1 hour tour) and 2) our guide seemed very young, but it was worth the money and largely in part to how great a job the guide did! Mackenzie was her name.
Ned Gibson — Google review
Great spur of the moment stop. We were able to go in and book a tour within 10 minutes of arriving. A natural wonder. Everyone needs to see this in real life. The cool temperature in the cave was a nice relief to the heat. The tour guide had great Dad jokes.

Pretty awesome place. Our group took the Crystal palace tour, 40 min long on a Thursday afternoon. Our tour guide Kristin was awesome, super informative and funny! Interesting sights, Mirror lake. Grounds nice too, nice shops and seating.

Don't sleep on this spot if you're in the area and have a few hours to kill. The caves are beautiful and easy to get through. Go on both tours if you can, one is more intimate, the other shows off the size. The gift shop was great as well, but quite busy with all sales at the one spot.
Andrew Underwood — Google review
Spent the day doing all things. Visited the gift shop which has all sorts of cool stuff, Gem stone mining and found some nice pieces to bring home with me, the glow golf was fun etc. The two cave tours were educational, fun, eye opening and a wonder to be in.

Marengo Cave holds the prestigious title of a U.S. National Landmark, and it lives up to the honor with its breathtaking underground wonders. Far from your typical "tourist trap," this destination is a treasure trove for explorers and enthusiasts alike.
The cave system's grandeur is undeniable, featuring a vast array of geological formations that captivate visitors. Our guide, Kristin, was the highlight of both tours we embarked on. Her infectious enthusiasm, blended with a sharp wit and an arsenal of dad jokes, kept our group thoroughly entertained and engaged.
Offering two distinct general tours, Marengo Cave provides insight into separate areas of the main caverns, making for a comprehensive subterranean experience. For the more adventurous souls, they also offer in-depth adventure tours, which require advanced registration for a more personalized and thrilling exploration.
Beyond the caves, there are a plethora of activities available on the property, ensuring that visitors can easily spend a full day immersed in the experience. The modest pricing structure adds to the appeal, making it an accessible option for a day of family fun or solo adventure.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to delve into a natural wonder without breaking the bank, Marengo Cave is a must-visit that promises a mix of education, entertainment, and awe-inspiring sights.

My family including two young teen boys really enjoyed both walking cave tours. Best caves we’ve ever seen. Wait times were reasonable and it was well-organized. Plenty of nice merchandise for purchase, plus snacks and drinks. I recommend good shoes, as these are wet caves and some surfaces can be slippery. We didn’t do the other activities, but there are some activities that could keep younger kids happy for most of a day.

Nice, interesting, and accessible cave for all ages. Comfortable tour. Nice merchandise shop with items from colorful rocks to trinkets. Good service.

The guides had great personalities & corny fun jokes. We've been to a couple other caving adventures and this is the least spectacular of the other 2. If you have small children I think this is the perfect length of a tour for them. They also have a climbing tower, maze, go carts and a tunnel maze challege BUT it cost $5 for all of these which to me is a bit much but they are a tourist attraction wanting to make money. Glow in the dark putt-putt too. Nice choice areas for having a picnic lunch and of course a nice gift shop.

You have to come and tour Marengo Cave!!!
The two trails are a wonderful experience to connect with nature and our beautiful planet.
It is very well preserved and the tour guide will tell all sorts of fun facts.
Visitors can tour a system of underground caves & an old pioneer village at this family venue.
Been to many caves and caverns, Squire Boone is by far the most interesting, unique one I have been to. The fact that there is an active river with waterfalls is awesome. It gives you a very unique perspective as to how the caves were formed, not to mention beautiful. Our guide (can't remember her name) was very informative. Excellent tour!

We stopped here on our way to completing the Indiana Cave Trail. It was a Thursday, so not busy at all, which was good in some ways, but the soap making and sweet shop were closed. We were a little bummed about that.
Our tour guide was really nice and knowledgeable, unfortunately we couldn't hear more than half of what she said during our 1 hour tour because some folks thought it was a good idea to bring two kids under two years old on the tour. They fussed and cried pretty much the whole time. I do not recommend bringing children under 3 years old on any cave tours, once you're in, there's no way out until the tour is over. Not good for little ones.
I did manage to get some great photos in the cave and the highlight for us was seeing the final resting place of Squire Boone and hearing the history behind that. Very neat!
My kids loved feeding the goats and pigs on the property. The lady who runs the candle dipping could have been a bit friendlier, she got a little short with my kids when they weren't following her (not very clear) instructions.
Everyone else who worked there was very nice though! The gem mining was fun and they found some gems they hadn't seen before.

Awesome cavern site with family and kid-friendly things to do and see. Lots of parking. Great staff and customer service. We did the tour with maybe 12 people total and it was the perfect amount of people to easily move along and see everything without feeling rushed. The on-site restaurant is pretty good. The water mill is really cool. The rock shop and candle shop and fun to see, too.

WHAT’S GOOD?
1. The reason this is one of the best cave tours around is because it is a variety of cave experiences packaged up in one convenient tour. This cave is wet and dry. It has wide open spaces and narrow passages. It has muted colors and a rainbow of lights. It has still ponds and racing waterfalls. The different sights packed into this 45 minute tour is a “mammoth-size” value!
2. Our guide, Rissa, was fantastic! You can tell she loves this cave and is so enthusiastic. She definitely enhanced the tour.
3. Other staff on sight was very friendly on our visit.
4. This property is a beautiful, well maintained campus featuring a number of other shops making this much more than a cave tour. It truly is a destination.
5. For those in need, the property features a large, shady picnic area.
——
CAUTIONS:
1. Cave tour does require a lot of steps. Should not be an issue for most.
2. Picnic area needs a large playground for the kiddos.

Absolutely gorgeous cave! Everyone was very friendly. We visited on the off season and they only do tours four times a day. We missed the noon tour by a couple of minutes as well as another family and the next tour wouldn’t be until 2 pm. The people added a 12:30 pm tour for us! Our guide Malechi was awesome! Very informative and kept it interesting. Definitely recommend a visit! Hope to get back here another time.

Every time I try a new cave experience in the area I think there is no way it can be as good as or better than the one before but they are all so good. Squire Boone Caverns was so much fun and there is so much to do. Everyone was incredibly nice too. There is a rock hut with all kinds of cool stuff, a candle shack where you can make your own candles, a spot to get good food (the pulled pork was excellent), a zip line, animals to feed, and of course the cave tour. The food was pricy as most tourist places are but was really good. The cave is simply amazing and a must see destination. If I do have criticism, it's that the tour leader needs a microphone and speaker. The cave has actively flowing water and he spoke so low I only heard about 50% of what he said for the whole tour. Thankfully I'm very familiar with caves and the beauty of this one kind of speaks for itself. Great experience though and one I would highly recommend

This place is a childhood relic that actually got BETTER! The cave tour is about 45 min, not too long. It's gorgeous and the lighting is awesome now. Our tour guide knew her stuff (Carissa/Karissa), and was amazing with the kiddos. They have a place to eat now! There is a soap making shop, a candle shop where you can make your own, a rock shop where you can pan your own bag with garunteed precious stones, and a kick butt gift shop with really reasonable items. We had a blast and I can't wait to go back!

Best cave tour ever. We stopped on our way down to mamouth caves. Mamouth caves were awesome, but our whole family agreed this was the best cave tour we went to all week. This cave tour was only a small group and the tour guide, way better than the huge tour groups at mamouth. There were tons of formations, and the river was cool to see up close. I would 100% recommend to stop here and check it out.

Best cave experience ever. Reasonably priced and awesome gift shop. This has to be one of the most beautiful and jaw dropping caves in the world. The tour guide was very entertaining while telling us the history behind the cave.

A stunning experience, with kind and helpful staff. The rock shop has great fun things at a good price, same with the candle shop. The restaurant was a little expensive but tbh it was worth it cause everything tasted amazing. The cave of course has the coolest history with beautiful views and the best running water exhibits I've seen in a cave. However from the back everything was a but quiet because of how loud the water was so if you're hard of hearing I suggest going to the front. Or a speaker on the guide would be beneficial- either way the cave connected to the mill which was unique to see so overall 11/10 for Squire Boone.

Great place to take the family. Besides the cave tour they have candle making, you cam sift for gems, feed and pet animals and a few other things.

Cool spot for a day trip. It’s setup like a little village so you have more activities than just the cave tour. The cave starts out about 30 feet below surface and deepest part is 90 feet. The tour is about an hour ish. The initial decent is a spiral staircase as well as the staircase going back up which is about 70 stairs. The formations are beautiful, saw white crawfish and even one bat which apparently is super rare. The waterfalls inside the cave are unique to the area. It was a timed entry tour. A little pricey imo, we’ve been to Carlsbad Caverns and Mammoth so I would think it would be cheaper. A $7 add on to ticket let’s kids mine for gems and fossils and feed the animals. Nice way to spend time if you’re waiting for the cave tour. Lots of picnic tables. Restaurant on site. Grist mill was a short walk and educational for the kids. Of all the caves we’ve been to we did appreciate the different color lights.

Beautiful cavern that is well maintained and cared for. The staff are friendly and informative. Guide (Iggy) did a great job in explaining the history of the grounds and the different rock formations. This cavern is a great place to take the family for a weekend trip.

Amazing place! The cave formations are really stunning, and the whole place is postcard lovely, with the creek and the beautiful Eastern Redbud trees. Also, the gift shop is full of cute affordable souvenirs to remember your trip. Highly recommended! 👍

Beautiful cave! My family loves visiting all the local caves and this one definitely didn't disappoint! Lots to see and the waterfalls made it that much better. Walking over one of them on the path was really neat as well! Our guide Coroline did a great job explaining everything and showed us the cave carawfish that she found swimming in the water.

Quite far out but worth the experience. Be prepared to walk. The tour is about 1hr total. There are slick stairs descending. And 72 stairs ascending. Very beautiful cavern and grounds. Cost $24 for adults, kids$14 or free if 4 and younger.

This is the best cave tour I've been on in Indiana. We were the only ones in our group, which was actually nice. Our guide, Izzy, was very informative and friendly. We also fed the animals and mined for gemstones. Both were fun little add ons. I would recommend this cave if you are in the area!
Located in Borden, Indiana, Huber's Orchard & Winery is a sprawling farm with fruit and vegetable picking, wine tastings, vineyard tours and a bakery. The venue is perfect for weddings and events, with convenient modern amenities.
This tour of the winery and distillery was awesome. Ken did a fabulous job! The wine tasting was fabulous and you get to pick six wines or you also had the option to taste the spirits. There was music out on the patio and we also bout the package that included lunch. Burgers were huge and moist and fries were good too. If you are going to visit, I highly recommend the $35 package! Includes tour, tasting, lunch, glass of wine and a wine glass too! Pick a day when they have music. It was the perfect day and you cannot beat the experience for the price!

We brought the kids just to have a day outside and pick pumpkins and apples. Hadn’t been since a child and I believe there’s two locations now. We ate at the restaurant and went to the play area before doing the fruit picking options . Food at the restaurant was decent but not delicious like I remember it and not worth the price in my opinion but I think they have a Huber restaurant at the other location with more home style food. We had burgers and chicken strips at this place . Smaller kids can definitely run around and use up their energy. They charge you by pound for the apples you pick so if you go with a family be mindful . My family enjoyed the fish pond the most . May come back with just her so we can try wine tasting and just relax with great views. It’s beautiful land and everyone should visit at least once. The drinks and home made snacks and cider were hits for us as well, riding on the traitor was my favorite part on a hot day, the breeze is amazing lol wear comfortable clothes and shoes !

Stopped in for a wine tasting while in town visiting my parents. Beautiful property and establishment. Had a great wine tasting and definitely will be back when I visit next. Took home the their lakeside white, sweet stella di luce, and limestone white blend as my top three but others were good too. My step dad did the spirits tasting and I'd love to try some of their cocktails. Sipped his black raspberry bourbon liqueur and it was delicious.

Ken at the tasting bar is the absolute best. Very informative going over the tasting menu and we even got to have an extra taste of one of the newer wines they have to offer. Wine Down Wednesday was a success!!

What a great find just a short drive from Louisville KY. Great wine and spirits along with a wonderful staff of 8 generations! My fav was the apple sparkling wine ! Hubby loved the blackberry whiskey. Shared lots of area suggestions with us. They also have a bakery nextdoor and the bread was fabulous. Lots of homemade goodies. Ice cream shop and picnic area also on site ! Will visit again. Highly highly recommend!

So much to do at this place. Orchards and patches, markets and shops. Something for everyone, including the kids. Bamboo and corn mazes, slides, inflatable, racetracks... The winery and distillery are great. Youll easily spend a whole day here. There are several restaurants in the grounds too.

My wife and I visited Hubers Orchard about a month ago and had the best time! We only expected to be there for an hour or two and ended up staying four hours. They have a winery with 15 dollar tastings but you get to pick 7-8 wines or spirts. Also they have a general store with fresh produce and other goodies. On top of that the parking was free and the hay rides were free (or at least it was when we went). Before we left I got some of their ice cream and my wife got their coffee (they were delicious). We definitely plan on visiting again sometime!

We visited this place in October 2023 and I thought it was one of the best places I have ever seen. We tasted wine, enjoyed live music, ate and bought local products that the farm itself produces. We picked apples, tried the best pecan pie ever, bought cheese bread, orange marmalade and apple cider vinegar. One of the best experiences for me and my family that you could have once you visit Jasper, Indiana

Patty gave us a wonderful wine tasting! She was very informative and a delight to talk to. The wine was amazing and we left with 3 bottles. Highly recommend this as a must-do activity for anyone visiting from out of town or even a fun time with friends and family. The fall harvest decorations were gorgeous and Huber’s was selling the most perfect pumpkins I have ever seen. We will definitely be back before fall is over to go pick pumpkins!

Staff is always friendly. The Family Fun Park is excellent for the kids. They have a plenty to keep them busy for several hours. We will be back soon.
Wooded nature preserve with 3 rustic cabins from the 1800s, hiking trails & picnic/BBQ pavilions.

Saunders Spring Nature Reserve is located just outside of US Army Base Fort Knox. It has several old cottages from the 1700 and 1800 of the original settlers of the area. The place is pristine and beautiful during the summer. If you’re into fall foliage, this is a great place to capture the changing landscape of colors as trees shed their leaves for the winter. Nice place for wedding photos and small picnics. Easily accessible by automobile and has hiking trails.

This is a hidden gem in Radcliff. My family enjoys this nature park with the various trails for easy hikes and small waterfalls that children can play in. My wife and son enjoy fishing and they stock the lake so that you are sure to catch something. I enjoy photography and the area provides plenty of opportunity to capture amazing photos.

I visited on a week day. The area is well kept when it comes to limiting trash as there are volunteers who care for the trails monthly. The trails have many uneven stairs but are reasonably marked with traik markers but they kind of all lead into each other around the reservoir.
The spring itself is very refreshing and you markedly feel a difference in temperature as soon as you approach the water. So lovely. The reservoir is teaming with wildlife for fun exploration.

This place is absolutely beautiful!!! There are lots of trails and a place to fish. There are picnic tables and benches in so many random places, but it's nice to know there will be a place to sit close by no matter where you are. There are a couple of pavilions for gatherings. There is a lot of information posted all around about the surroundings so that you know what you are looking at and what to expect. I didn't get a chance to check out the cave yet. Please donate to them in the donation box if you come to visist!

Beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle. Nice hiking trail if you have on the right shoes... wet leaves were slick. Nice spot to pack a lunch or read a book. Be sure to drive all the way in and down the hill. Oh, there wasn't a fee to get in, they only asked for donations. (I did not stop in the visitors center)
The Caesars Southern Indiana hotel has an indoor pool & a spa, as well as refined dining. There are live shows in the casino and a range of different games to play.
Excellent atmosphere, lots of game selection available, and the fanciest room I've ever stayed in! I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of the suite when we were there. If I get another opportunity to stay in one I will most definitely take pictures! It was absolutely gorgeous with a huge jacuzzi tub and stand up shower with multiple shower heads. This sweet even had four different sinks in it. I would highly recommend this casino and hotel!!

The casino is great. Wish it was easier to get a drink. The bars aren't always open and the lines can get quite long. The band that was there when I visited was great! Wish they had more old school machines to play but still a great place.
The hotel needs a lot of work. I feel like each time I stay the rooms aren't being dusted and cleaned very good. But the beds are comfy and bathrooms are nice so no complaints there.

When arriving, it is a bit confusing to find the hotel lobby as the signage is a bit confusing. The lobby is also dated and doesn’t set the tone for the rooms, which appear remodeled and were nice. The facility’s exterior was a little rough and kind of run down looking, but the interior was fine. ONE THING that was a bit odd was that the WHOLE hotel smells like weed no matter where you go. Even our non-smoking room smelt pretty dank, which doesn’t really bother me, it was just surprising. The staff we encountered were all super friendly, the spa staff were especially awesome and the service was great.
We really enjoyed the food options from Gordon Ramsay Steak, to the food court in the casino, we really enjoyed everything. We did try to order in-room breakfast but it never arrived which was weird.
The room itself was comfortable and clean, it was equipped with a mini fridge and coffee maker which was helpful.
The casino had some TIGHT machines, we spent around $3,000 and played for like 3 hours total with conservative bets, they don’t give much.
I’ve read some reviews commenting on family friendliness, it is a casino at the end of the day so it’s not going to be a great spot for kids.
Things I wish were improved:
- Less weed smell
- A better maintained property
- A lobby that matched the vibe of the casino
- Elevators randomly went out
- Pool area bathrooms were dirty and corroded
Things that were awesome:
- The staff
- The casino design
- The food
- The drinks

We came here on my birthday. They give you nothing on your birthday. It was really smoky and the non smoking section is small. The game I wanted to play was only offered on the smoking side. There has a cafeteria style restaurant and it looked like about $20 a plate which seemed over priced for cafeteria food. I will not be coming back here. I recommend the Derby City Gaming Casino instead. They chicken place they have there is delicious and reasonably priced. The smoke isn’t overwhelming and they give you free game play for your birthday.

The last time i was there, it was still on the riverboat; so i was excited to see the new casino. The casino itself is very nice, the staff very friendly and helpful. I tried the new virtual blackjack and video roulette, didn't care for them to much; i like the interaction with the dealers. There wasn't many table games open, but i did get there at 9am so maybe that was why. They have raised the table minimum from $5 to $15, which i didn't care for. I will go back once more and see if my experience is any different. All in all a very nice place to go and have fun.

The casino floor is small. The food is outrageous for mediocre quality. The drinks are not free while playing like most other casinos. The hot water was not working while we were there and it cut our trip short. I will say they refunded the full cost of the stay without problem.

Absolutely horrible property!! Even worse management! Nothing is open, can’t get breakfast much less dinner after being at thurby all day. Management could care less. No breakfast being served today, asked for a muffin. Didn’t have my license. Had my cc with name and room key. Front desk said no! Wouldn’t help me!!! Save your money, stay at place that appreciates your business.
Smells like weed and cigarettes even on non smoking rooms. Rooms are paper thin. Can hear simple conversations. No signs for hotel lobby, which is a joke when you finally find it. No valet, bell service. Par course with this place, just a sign saying services are suspended. When you do finally figure where to go, 1 elevator is out of service. They don’t tell you that the food court is not operating just more signs, not in service. That is not good enough. Be transparent!! Our group had over 30 rooms booked. They lost this for next year. Wouldn’t subject anyone to this place.

Great casino if you want to lose money. I've been here multiple times to give this place a chance but the payback percentages are astronomically low. I've talked to other guests here and they've had the same experience. Bonuses are rare and when they hit, the bonus wins are unreasonably low. I've visited casinos from London to Vegas and several states and locations in between and this casino has by far the worst payout percentage that I've experienced. The games may look the same as other casinos but the payout percentage is not the same. I get that the house always wins, but that's a long-term metric, and this casino makes it a short, medium and long-term metric, so much so that it's not even an enjoyable gambling experience. There are no ups and downs here, just downs.
If I were you, I'd save yourself a drive. Set aside your gambling money and burn it on fire and then just play whatever game you wanted to play in one of those free slot machine apps. You'll still have your budget lit on fire, but at least you'll save a little gas money, which will give you an edge on visiting this casino. Would not recommend.

We came to Caesars Casino November 27, 2023 for our anniversary. The front desk staff were very friendly when we checked in to our room. We stay here every year in the spring to visit the Louisville Zoo for the Wild Lights. It's close and the rooms are so much cheaper than anywhere in Louisville. They have the absolute best pool. It's huge, never crowded and well heated. The hot tub is also bigger than most. It's the highlight of our stay with 2 young children. There isn't much close by so you're kind of committed to the quick dining by the main check in desk unless you want to drive 20-30 minutes but the food is good and they have fresh fruit bowls and some healthy options. They also have room service which we only discovered last year. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is large and the towels are fluffy. We love staying here every year.

This review is based on our stay in the hotel, the casino was fine. We stayed for one night to celebrate my birthday and upon arriving in the hotel we at first didn’t notice the lack of cleanliness until we came back up from a long night of gambling. Once we realized how dirty the room was I was honestly shocked. I didn’t even sleep under the covers because I felt so uncomfortable. There are stains all over the borders of the bed they look like they’ve never been wiped off. There was a coat of dust over all the furniture, once again not wiped off. There were stains on the curtains, couch, and even the little table next to the chairs. The toilet was stained as well. I took pictures of everything and would post if I could. simply the room didn’t look like it had been properly clean and from a 4/5 star reviewed hotel I’m beyond disappointed with the lack of cleanliness. Also when checking out, they didn’t even ask how we enjoyed our stay, just rushed us away, we did mention there was dust on the furniture and all she offered was to call housekeeping and did in the middle of us talking. Also spent $30 on breakfast that was cold on arrival and tasted like hospital food. If you plan on staying for your birthday, I highly suggest looking elsewhere.

My husband and I had booked a stay for my birthday, had requested and received confirmation for a smoking room. Upon arrival we were told there were no smoking rooms available, and we would have to take a non smoking room. The lady at the desk was beyond unhelpful and never even so much as apologized for the inconvenience. When I was actually able to speak to her supervisor he was also no help.
Beyond those issues, the room we were given, wasn't cleaned well. There was lunch meat from previous guests still in the mini fridge when we opened it.
And my advice is, if you want to take a shower or bath, turn the water on at least 30 minutes beforehand or you'll be taking a freezing shower. Hot water is pretty much nonexistent.
Overall, not worth the money. The Caesars in Vegas is the gold standard, this is the bottom of the barrel. Unless I hear back from management its unlikely I ever return, when there are other casinos in the area.

Our room was clean and ready for us when we got there, the thermostat was set on 65, so it was freezing in there. Great water pressure and temperature, the curtains kept the room nice and dark. The casino was very busy, but it was a Friday night. There didn't seem to be a ton of bars open and the lines were long. The cups you get your mixed drink in have a sharp edge, so grab a straw.

Used to be one of my favorite places to just relax with a cigar, play some blackjack, and have a good time. Sadly a lot of the charm went away when they got rid of the boat, they also went from smoking on 3 out of 4 floors to a small section with only slots, no smoking at any tables. Don’t really see a reason to come here anymore. Band was good, but it was also relatively dead on a Saturday night.

This rating was tough. It's an overall rating but I will explain the parts that brought it down.
The layout of this place is very confusing. Even the ins/outs of parking is nuts. The hotel and casino are far apart so expect long walks.
Good parts was the casino and casino staff. The check in was easy (once I found it)
Now the downfall......security. honestly if I could give them a rating by themselves it would be an absolute 0.
I have an oversized vehicle and called 8 hours in advance to find parking. The main person answering the phone is going by a script and doesn't listen. Took my 5 phone calls and eventually I ended up with security who I thought would be able to help. I was assured there would be a spot to park and they instructed me to call when I was a few moments off and someone would direct me in late at night.
When I arrived I called security and they were confused on where I was even at (don't they have cameras). When they finally found me they sent some 19 year old kid out who didn't even know where the casino or venue even was. I eventually got parked at 1:30 a.m.
Now this last part is for whoever runs security. Taking peoples driver's license to gain access to come in and out of venue is not appropriate. However, I reluctantly gave security my passport which they freaked out over because I refused to give up my driver's license. Note: a passport is an ID. my driver's license is for when I am driving. Learn the difference.
The worst part is when we were done and I went to retain my passport. Security had lost it. You have no filing system to match the number on my badge you gave me to my name.......absolute failure on all sides of security.

Most unexpectedly filthy hotel room I've been in in years. I expected so much more. The casino was fun but used to feel more exciting and the staff seemed to be a big part of the overall appeal in the past, livening up the atmosphere and energetic but I barely had eye contact with anyone. Definitely not the same vibe as it used to have.

The room was not that great for nearly $300 for a night so we left and went back home to sleep in our own beds. My husband ate the pot roast for almost $30 a plate and the staff was rude. The casino it’s self is not fun like it use to be considering it is now all on one floor. The dealers were rude and the overall atmosphere was not pleasant. We wanted a fun night out but was so disappointed we decided to go back home. If I wanted to play slot machines we could have done it much closer to our home!

I stayed for 2 nights during the 2024 solar eclipse because everything in the path of totality was way overpriced. Caesars was nicely priced and I ordered a room on a non smoking floor. The room smelled of cigarettes and the smell kept coming through the vents. The restaurants on site were way overpriced and a very long walk from the hotel (in the casino on the opposite side of the property). There isn’t another restaurant within 10 miles of the property so bring food with you if you don’t want to eat in the smokey casino or get room service.

We have been here many time. Always one of our favorite casinos. This time we brought our adult kids and 1 year old granddaughter. We fully expected to take turns going to the casino because that is no place for a baby. However, we did not expect to not have food offered to her on the property, except for breakfast. If we must leave to feed her, we will do other things while visiting. We are diamond elite and diamond. We agree that children don't belong in the casino, just don't understand why there are not options are not here. Very sad. Ceasers definitely lost money on this one.

Churchill Downs is a horse racing track located in Louisville, Kentucky. It has hosted the Kentucky Derby since 1875 and is also a National Historic Landmark. The track usually seats up to 50,000 people, but on Derby Day it can hold up to 150,000 spectators.
We paid $17 each for a 30 minute tour of the grounds as well as entrance to the museum. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and encouraged us often to ask questions. As a childhood fan with very little knowledge of the history race, I was amazed with the history our tour guide was able to share in just the 30 minutes we were there. If you know more than me, you might ask questions and be pleasantly surprised to hear her explain Churchill Downs trivia. Since it was only a 30 minute tour, we didn't go far from the museum, but we did get to see the track and the winners circle under the twin towers! The museum is quite large and holds of a lot of interesting facts as well as interactive and informative games for some of the younger (or young at heart) crowd. 10/10, must visit!

This is where it goes down. The place to be. It’s remarkable how beautiful this place is. We took a short shelf guided tour. It was a lot of information. I believe the longer tour would offer behind the scene type thing. Nevertheless we enjoyed the history of the iconic place. The gift shop is nice. Parking is plentiful and the staff is friendly and energetic.

SO impressed ! Amazing facility. Must see the museum & movie. Incredibly well done. Go for one of the tours, very informative. I don't do things twice, but I would just to see the 360° movie again. Beautiful

This where all the action happens for The Kentucky Derby. Lots of interesting historical trivia about the horses that ran in past races. Beautifully kept grounds and stalls..a great tour and we stopped for a Mint Julep at the end our tour (this was on our own). Off Season they are reasonably priced at their bar/cafe. It was a very tasty cocktail. They have a gift shop on site next to the cafe with all types of Churchill Downs Memorabilia.

One of the coolest things I've ever done! If you have the chance, visit Churchill Downs. It's an experience you'll never forget! When we visited, they had a bunch of food trucks in the vicinity. It was neat because you could walk around to a couple of food trucks, purchase some drinks, dance to the live music, and then go watch the horse races. We just sat in a general admission area which worked out perfect because we were there during the week when it wasn't crazy busy. Overall, we had an absolute blast!

This place was so Beautiful!
Just traveling thur, knee problem. Enjoyed taking pics of statue of Secretaries!
I seen the movie a long time ago. The place was so awesome to see! I know the museum was open.
But I remember hearing on news horses were moved because a horse died. It was under evistgation.
What I seen was still a very beautiful place! Enjoy it!

First time visitor. Took the DOWNS/HERMITAGE FARMS tour which is a full day tour. Highly recommend! At Hermitage Farms our guide was a very knowledgeable young man Jacob who was filled with all the details of the operations of the Farm, including the horse stables, barn turned kitchen and event venue and the different gardens of mostly edibles that sustain their kitchen and uoscale restaurant on site.

Great way to spend the afternoon while in Louisville. Bring cash to bet . The food is just okay. Eat elsewhere if possible before or after. The drinks are actually pretty good. They make a pretty decent old-fashioned.

Never been to a race before, was a great thrill. Everyone had. Fun watching and cheering for the Horses. Love the history and the stadium food. Good day with friends, will definitely do this again.

Very interesting museum visit and short tour. The entry fee includes an immersive 18-minute video on a 360-degree screen with surround sound, all museum exhibits, and a 30-minute tour. There are rotating stools for viewing the video so you can easily spin and see everything. Our tour guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Videos are shown at ten minutes past every hour with a ten minute intro on the hour. Tours begin on the half hour, and the guide picks you up in the theater, which is called The Great Hall. There is a nice gift shop with loads of merchandise and a cafe that can both be visited for free. The only issue we observed is that the parking lot is quite small, so leave extra time for arrival, as your reserved video and tour times are set.

Went to see horse races. Was a phenomenal experience. We got our tickets when we arrived which ended up costing us a third of the price. Has a parking lot concession stand for food drinks and a gift shop. You can smoke inside while watching the horse races. Once you enter you can't return. Races take place all day. Minimum bet for a horse race when we went was $50.

Great experience! This was my first visit. We took a tour of the city and this was one of our stops. Enjoyed seeing the horses race and exploring the grounds, which are very beautiful. The gift shop has a good variety of items, such as derby hats, shirts, magnets, and derby collector items.

If you get the chance take the Superstars and Spires tour. At ninety minutes it covers a lot. Our guide, Bob, was really good about sharing stories and historical insights about this great track. The tour takes you through all the grandstands and high end seating where the stars and celebrities enjoy the Derby. There is a museum to visit as well as a theatre to watch a movie about The Race, which is a must see. Visit the store for some swag and the cafe for a mint julip.

We went to the November live races and I would rate that a 5. We bought tickets to the millionaire’s row section which was great and included a buffet and all you can drink soda. The buffet was very disappointing. It went from 1 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. We got our food at 1:15 P.M. after the first race was done. The pasta was warm to cool in temperature, the chicken was dry. The dessert selection was very messy in presentation. That lowered our rating. Is that really how it is for the Kentucky Derby when people are paying $10,000 or more for tickets? Thank goodness ours were $61 each (includes entry to Churchill Downs).

I had such a wonderful, enjoyable day/experience here yesterday(Sunday, November 5th, 2023).
I came with dear friends who are parents of a deceased army son.
We attended the Military remembrance day for surviving families.
11 stares were represented.
Such good food, a band, face painting, activities fir the children and so much more was provided at No cost to the families and their guests.
The staff I talked to and got to know we're absolutely so friendly, caring and a joy to meet
We had such a wonderful time.
Thank you to your staff throughout the building and grounds.
I will definitely come back!

Definitely recommend purchasing tickets for tour ahead of time and including the video and track tour. We had our tour at the end of the day so we didn’t get to enjoy the museum before the tour. Plan for more time on the front or backend to be able to wander through the museum.

We went to Opening Night 2024 at Churchill Downs. It was a great night. I enjoyed the night racing. However, they need to improve on their food concessions. We spent $65 for 2 burgers, bratwurst, and sprite. There was no lettuce, tomatoes on burgers. We couldn't get mustard or ketchup either, and fries were cold. For the price you pay, they should have a condiment station at least.

There are few greater places in the entire world than the Legendary Churchill Downs.
Fortunes have been won, and fortunes have been lost.
At times, the rush of nostalgia will rush over you, coupled with the roar of the crowd, and the thunderous stampede of the thoroughbreds down the back stretch.
Memories are made here that last a lifetime.
The sun always shines bright at this Ole Kentucky home.
And you ain't never been anywhere, or seen anything, until you've witnessed a Kentucky Derby in person.

My wife and I toured this well-known site in late February and unfortunately, it was cold and windy. But we were still able to walk through the stands to the finish line and the guide braved the nasty weather to give us some interesting tidbits and insider info. The museum is also a must-see, especially if you are a horse racing enthusiast. The museum offers a well-rounded history of Churchill Downs, the horses that have run there as well as the jockeys, trainers, and other workers who made the Kentucky Derby world famous. I’d love to see a race here!

The museum was actually much bigger than I thought it would be and much more interesting that I thought it would be so I ended up thinking it was worth the money to get in. It also included a tour down to the stands which was pretty cool to see and able to see the track up close as just part of the basic tour is a very cool place to go with a lot of history.

Home of the most famous race in the world the Kentucky Derby. I would have loved to go to one of the races but I came here in the off season when there were no races running at all. There are a lot of different tours to go on: Backstretch Workout Tour, Barn and Backside Tour, Black Heritage in Racing Tour, Bourbon and Bridles Experience, Race Day Experience, Hermitage Farm and Derby Museum Tour, Ultimate Churchill Downs Tour, Throughbred Workout Tour, Superstars and Spires tour (I really wanted to go to this one but it was sold out), Guided Track Visit. I went to this last one, you got to see the track as well as the grandstand. Nice quick tour if you aren't a big fan or in a pinch for time but I definitely recommend the other tours if you are a big fan.

An amazing experience to watch a live Horse race. You can't imagine how good a vibe is created during the horse race. We bought tickets in advance. We watched almost all the races that day. Very good experience. There were plenty of food courts inside. Next year, we are planning to go there to experience the Kentucky Derby that has almost 170,000 viewers. In Louisville, this place is a must visit.

2024 opening day at Churchill downs. Very organized this year. Signs on Taylor boulevard navigated me to the Blue parking pot were my ticket was valid to park. There was plenty of parking still available as well as handicap. I was close to the entrance but still had a goal cart rode for free to the door. I went to a gala in the Trophy room on the 6th floor. The attendants are not very knowledgeable about navigating to the right places. But overall I jad a blast and Churchill downs gets better and better every year.
The Kentucky Derby Museum is a heritage museum located in Louisville, Kentucky that preserves the history of the famed horse race. The museum features exhibits on the race and its participants, as well as an event space that can be rented out for weddings or other private parties.
I haven’t bet or even watched any Derby before, but after my visit, I am definitely trapped by its charisma.
The introductory movie is nice. It gives you all the details about the game. But what’s really amazing about this visit, is the tour after the movie.
We went to the field where Kentucky Derby has taken place for more than 140 years. I learned a lot about the horse, the Jockey, the game, the price of seats and how the field is maintained.
The visit really opens my eyes to a whole new world that I have not touched before. It’s a wonderful visit!!!
Even you are not a Derby fan, you should check this museum out. It’s worthy!!!

We showed up and did the Barns and Backside tour, which is an hour, then did the walking tour an hour after that concluded. Really great tours. We went to the museum in between the tours and saw the greatest race movie. Currently a lot of construction but it'll be great once it's done. Highly recommend the tours. The barns and backside gets you to the other side of the track, which is nice, but I wish we could have walked into the barn area, although I understand why we couldn't. Great experience.

A very affordable and informative tour. I was able to ask questions of the guide both during and after the tour. The amount of knowledge he had was incredible. We got to walk out to the track and see where it is that the horses run. Hard to believe more than 150k people can fit!
Outside of the tour, the museum has so much available information for you to read and go through. There are incredible artifacts and interactive features to engage with. We really enjoyed the 360° video experience as well.

Lots of history and a great location to visit even if you are not totally an avid fan and follower of horse racing. The tour and museum will give you a solid understanding of the sport, both past and present. I recommend anyone coming to do one of the two tours available to get the most of your trip here. Just simply walking around the museum is not enough. The tours are between 1-1hr 30 min and you can either tour the grandstand and spectator areas or the stalls for the horses.

Very interesting place about Derby History, you have to take the tour to the barns to see the horses but you have to be older than 8 years old. The history tour is very interesting and it was so cool to hear about the history and care they give to the horses definitely a must seen spot of Louisville 😉

Worth stopping to see even if passing through. The 18 minutes video plays every hour. You can watch it from the second floor or inside the room. I recommend getting to museum at top of the hour to watch The Greatest Race for better appreciation of the museum if you know little to none on this American tradition.
The walking tour is great. Tour guide was high in spirits, knowledgeable, and respectful to keep guest in shade on a hot day.

Book in advance!!! We woke up Saturday morning and decided we would add this to our list for the day. The website showed all times for the tour were still available, so I decided to wait until we got there, since I wasn't sure when we'd arrive. We got there about 2pm and all the tours were full. We still paid full price to see the museum. Plenty of free parking was available! There is a lot to see and do in this small museum. Very informative! My daughter loved the exhibits and being hands on with racing equipment. Secretariat’s exhibit was amazing! The employees were very friendly! The store was a bit over priced and very small. The café closed at 3pm which seemed kind of early too for me.

Visited Churchill Downs at Louisville, Kentucky. Loved the museum and watched the history of Churchill Downs too in a 360 degree auditorium screen. Had taken the tour too to see where the most attended and most watched horse race takes place in the United States. Would love to come back to Churchill Downs in May to watch the Derby in person. One can buy different memorabilia from the gift shop too.

The short film, " The Greatest Race" is stunning! I might be addicted because I kept going back to watch it. Warning, it may give you goosebumps and a sudden urge to buy a racehorse!
Let's not forget, there is a gift shop. I absolutely loved the displays. The products are quality and the prices are reasonable.
Oh, and I must mention one of the most important parts... The customer service is excellent! The staff is friendly, fun and knowledgeable. They will make you feel right at home.

I visited the museum as part of its annual Horses and Haunts Tour during October. Our guides Heather and Molly were excellent guides, providing a lot of history to this native and Derby attendee (for 45+ years)! It was super cool to see the track at night and hear these stories under the hallowed spires. Highly recommend visiting the museum and taking advantage of this tour every October!

This is a must if you are in Louisville and are interested in the history of horse racing. Our tour guide Max was wonderful- we took a chance on the day that we went and were blessed to have seen an actual horse race which was for selling of the horses. There is a lot of history- we highly recommend that when you take the tour you ask as many questions as you possibly can as it makes it more interesting for both you as a spectator and for the tour guides as well. The museum has a lot of information so plan to spend a good amount of time there. It is also interesting for kids of all ages - there are video horse races that you can choose your own horse and ride and control the horse, there are life-size mannequins and horses of great history and there is even a mock starting gate for you to climb onto a horse for a great photo opportunity. Should you get a bit hungry there is the Derby Cafe where you can get a quick bite to eat however check for when it is open as it was closed on Sunday which we were aware of and plan for accordingly. Highly recommend

Really cool to be on the grounds of something that you've only seen on TV completely packed with people. The museum gave a great history of the race, the grounds, the horses and the jockeys. The 360 degree movie was super heartwarming and a great addition to the museum. The track tour was cool. The facts about the grounds were very interesting. There is a lot of construction going on right now so the cranes and such were in a lot of my photos. The staff helping in the front were not super friendly or helpful with providing what was available that day. The entire thing was definitely something to see, not sure if I'll be back again.

The behind the scenes tour was phenomenal- Barry, the guide was extremely passionate, patient and knowledgeable. His passion for the Derby was infectious! What a great find! The KY Derby Museum was better than I expected. They have an excellent film and a beautiful museum that covers all parts of horse racing - horses, jockeys, trainers, owners, and Churchill Downs, and more. The trackside tour is informative and engaging. We saw a few horses and riders on the course, too.
We also purchased the Barn & Backside Tour. It was cool to see some of the Derby horses already housed here. We saw a few horses arriving in preparation for the Derby.

We were visiting from out of state and specifically stopped in this area to visit Churchill Downs. There were not races at the time, but we did visit the museum and I will say it was amazing, even my non-horsey family enjoyed this experience. If you plan to visit, I would recommend purchasing tickets prior to arrival, this will ensure you are not spending a long amount of time in line, it will also preserve your space to see the track tour which is awesome. The docents that walk you into the track have years of Churchill Downs track experience and love sharing their experiences and track history with you. The visual inside the track is beautiful and a great picture opportunity. If you get an early enough walk through you may get to see horses working out on the track. Also, while there be sure to watch the track movie. It is extremely well done and touching if you are at all interested in horses, horse racing, or are just the idea.
The museum is two floors with the first floor dedicated to track and track racing history. The second floor is dedicated to exhibits about Secretariat (racehorse), D. Wayne Lukas (trainer), and Bill Shoemaker (jockey), they are all very well done.
I would also recommend, at the end of your visit, taking a stop into their cafe and try out a Mint Julip and one of their sandwiches.
Overall, this was a great experience at $20/person, I would definitely recommend visiting this gorgeous museum.

This museum in Louisville, Kentucky is a must-see for fans of baseball bats. The museum has a factory tour that charts the journey of a bat from a humble piece of wood to an expertly made professional baseball bat. Other noteworthy exhibits include the world's largest bat, Buds Batting Cage, and interactive displays like Babe Ruth's batting helmet. The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is easily recognizable by its towering 120-ft steel baseball bat, the Worlds Biggest Bat.
A fascinating place for baseball fans as well as those with just a passing knowledge of the game. Watch bats being created out of blocks of wood. When we were there, they were making bats for opening day. You can also get a personalized bat. There are displays highlighting baseball greats and other unique facets of the sport. A great attraction and an easy walk from downtown.

Totally awesome tour and definitely worth it. All of my kids enjoyed it. The free mini bat is a nice touch either. Keeping four boys from poking each other with them is a different story. After the tour you get to see the museum which has some nice extra items in it. We came on a holiday on the fourth of July weekend and only had to wait 10 minutes for a tour to start.

You can hold a bat that belonged to Babe Ruth in 1933, you can see bats from Joe Di Magio, Roberto Clemente, Jackie Robinson, Roger Maris, Tyler Cobb, and some other legends. You can buy nice souvenirs at the gift store and even get a customized bat. I highly recommend this museum.

This was a pretty cool tour as it was in a real production facility where they are not afraid to show off the pride of their product. Overall, it is always cool to support a family business even if it is a big one. Pro tip: they give everyone who takes the tour a mini bat which saves on souvenirs for large family groups. Pro tip #2: they laser print all types of bats for gifts and it is pretty quick.

I think the tour is a must try for fans. It was interesting to hear about and see the process. AND they give you a mini bat of your own at the end of the tour. When we went early in the morning, there was no wait for the tour, BUT when my friend wanted to do the tour later in the day, she would have had to wait about 1.5 hour for her tour group. So, buy the tour ticket early if you plan to attend around the noon time.

Really fun for families and baseball fans. The tour is easy and is with a guide. You walk through different setups in the factory and they play short videos with more information. At the end you get a mini slugger, watch out for everyone who gets super lit to get them - they start swinging.
There are other parts to visit including a history area with mannequin/statues of famous players. They also have a bat room. And the batting cage is fun if you have the time.

My wife has talked about Louisville Slugger Museum for as long as I've known her. It has an extremely strong anchor to baseball, especially professional baseball. All the majors, leagues and players, get their bats from here. It is where their bats are made. At this museum, you can see how bats are made, from the selection of the tree to the cut and shape of the bats. It features a tour of the factory itself and ends with its own museum of baseball history. It is a fascinating tour for anyone, whether you are interested in baseball or not. Greeted by the World's Largest Baseball Bat right out of the museum. I ended up taking the tour here and they show you beginning to end, the production of the bat. Starting from the piece of wood, how it was cut back in the day. Nowadays with machinery, you see how quick production can be. You get to see every step of the way from the carving of the machine, to a slope test, to the sanding machine and then they are finished in with some paint. Lastly some are branded and then ready to go for use! Overall nice tour and you get a small souvenir bat out of it. Very nice!

Great museum and if you're a lover of baseball, then this is a must do! The tour includes walking through the actual factory while the bats are being made, which I found to be the best part of the tour. I’m a big baseball fan and I really enjoyed the tour! Learning about where the wood is sourced and seeing a bat being made was very special. After the tour you can go to the batting cage and try out bats that are replicas of the pros both current and historic. My favorite bat is Hank Aaron’s, I had to try Babe Ruth’s bat too, it’s HUGE and hard to swing.
If you don’t have time for the whole tour you can just go to the batting cage and gift shop. There also a movie that talks about the history of the game and Louisville Sluggers roll. I’ll be back again!

An essential part of the Louisville visitor experience! While I enjoy the sport, I confess I'm not that into baseball - but this was such a fascinating experience and should not be missed. Heads up for my fellow air travelers: the museum will ship your souvenir mini bats for just $10 (bundle them together to save!).
The Big Four Bridge spans 2,520 feet across the Ohio River linking Louisville Waterfront Park with Jeffersonville in Indiana. At night, the bridge is illuminated with colorful decorative lights that create an amazing spectacle.
Beautiful 1800s rail bridge connecting Kentucky and Indiana. Now just for pedestrians, no pets. Kept clean and LED lit by private group. Gorgeous park on the Kentucky side close to Lincoln memorial and kids' park and splash pad, hot dog stand and bathrooms. Cute shops and cafes on the Indiana side. Easy to walk, bike, etc. while enjoying the panoramic views.

A very peaceful and relaxing walking trail bridge across the Ohio river and connecting two states.
Very beautifully converted 19th century railroad bridge. One will also learn the history along its way.
Suitable for all ages and also for physically challenged.
An exclusive approach path, a spiraling pathway starting straight from the parking lot is creative and impressive.
A nice view of the cities on either side of both the states and of the river is very refreshing.

Absolutely amazing! Walking across the Big Four Bridge is a delightful experience that offers stunning views of the Ohio River and the Louisville skyline. The pedestrian path is wide and well-maintained, making it a great option for walkers, joggers, and cyclists of all ages. At nearly a half-mile long, the bridge provides a good workout while showcasing the city's scenic beauty. Don't forget to check out the vibrant lighting displays that illuminate the bridge at night!

Had seen this bridge from I-65 many times over the years. My wife and I made an 80 mile drive from our Indiana home to check it out. It was well worth it. An easy walking experience and great scenery. People were friendly by saying Hello when you passed. Glad we did it!

One of our favorite places to go. A beautiful bridge with beautiful scenery. The walk from Indiana to Kentucky is not bad at all and is completely worth it. I proposed to my beautiful wife here and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. 10/10 recommend for anyone in the area! It even has a park on both ends for your children to play at.

A great stroll between two states. It is an easy walk from KY to IN. Beautiful place with lots of great views. Benches placed along the bridge for those who need a rest. There are many opportunities for scenic photos. If you have the time, you definitely should try to take a walk across this beautiful bridge! This is an excellent asset for the community and its visitors.

We took our family to do this walk with some friends. We are from out of town, and loved it! Great way to get outside and enjoy the views and get exercise. Best of all, it’s FREE! There’s also an awesome playground on the KY side of the bridge entry. Our kids loved that, too! Can’t wait to come back!

A perfect place to walk exercise, and see the Louisville skyline, Ohio River, Waterfront Park from the Bridge. Extremely impressed with the entire experience,....the bridge is lit up at night and the colors change often, the bridge itself was free of liter, well-kept

Very nice pedestrian bridge that crosses the Ohio River and has stunning city views. My family and I walked this bridge on a pretty hot day and wished there was at least one spot for a break for some shade, but the shade created by parts of the bridge provided some nice shade with a forgiving breeze. I don't believe pets were allowed on the bridge nor those pay-by-time electric scooters (they shut down on the bridge). I did see a few bicycles on the bridge, so I assume they were allowed. Surprising classical music was playing at one end of the bridge. A nice and cute surprise. If you walk on a hotter day, make to bring water as there were not many options nearby on either end for refreshments. I would like to visit this bridge again at sunset/night for even more spectacular views!

This is the third time, I think, I’ve been up here and it’s amazing every time. The views are great and it’s nice to have something to do in downtown that’s free.
Only issue I have is the number of motorized scooters flying through.
Oh, and if you go at night, make sure to be careful up against the railing…a lot of spiders hang out there 🤢

You absolutely need to check this out especially if it's your first time in Louisville. It was well worth the walk across to see beautiful views of the river and downtown. If you walk all the way across you'll find yourself in Indiana which makes for a fun experience in itself. The Indiana side has a bunch of cute restaurants and plaza area to enjoy. The bridge lights up at night for an even more special experience. We spent about an hour here. Heads up though, no pets, no scooters or motorized bikes on the bridge.

So pretty at night and cute simple day or night date night idea. The police are always out and about and great place to have a convo without too many distractions. You get a good view of the city and also a good way to stay social and active. The air also smells better then the air lower in the city lol

Great place for my morning walk. It’s nice watching the sunrise over the Ohio river. It puts things into perspective and starts the day off right . All of the people who use this bridge are pretty friendly and it’s not uncommon to hear a good morning during the walk. The views of the city from hear can’t be beat even with a basic camera you can still get some great shots in. If you are a airplane enthusiast you can get some great pictures of aircraft coming into the city.

I recently walked on the bridge from the Kentucky side to the Indiana side. The bridge is a wonderful way to view the river and both sides of the river including the Louisville skyline and Watefont Park and historic Jeffersonville IN.
It is a great way to exercise and enjoy the beauty of nature and the river. There are benches if you want to linger. I walked into Jeffersonville where many shops and restaurants are in close proximity to the ramp that accesses the bridge.
A stroll along the river on both sides is a treat also. I highly recommend giving the bridge and the surrounding areas a visit.

So much fun and it is definitely safe. There are officers everywhere; on both the Ky side and Indiana side. It is so beautiful at night and the downtown skyline is awesome. Bathroom doors close at like 9pm so there’s that, but everything else is nice. Check it out.

What a beautiful day for a walk across the bridge. End to end is a mile. Beautiful park (with water features for kids) on KY side and unique shops and restaurants on IN side. Bikes can go down the middle and pets are not allowed on bridge. Several places to sit and rest along the way.
Louisville Mega Cavern is a subterranean recreation center that offers activities such as zip lines, ropes courses, and underground bike park. It's one of the most popular attractions in Louisville due to its various adventure-focused activities.
This adventure was the best idea, something different, and it did not disappoint.
I registered, purchased tickets, and signed wavers all online and via digital delivery. It was so easy. I pulled up and drove around and found the location. There was not anyone else really around and even though there were signs I didn’t know what to do. I think those main tour doors needed to be construction orange or green with a big clear enter sign enter sign . There are lots of signs and info but needed to be a little more clear and simple..
After entering through the side and walking down a creepy hall, I walk into this massive room and there was the tram, and across the giant room was a town façade and waiting area. I made my way over and when walking into the underground welcome center was warmly greeting by seven or so staff. There was a gift shop, snack area, very nice restrooms, and an open indoor ropes course to the side.
My tour was the first of the day of a Thursday so that was probably why there was no crowd to follow but it added to the adventure for me! The price was $21.94 and the tour lasted a little over an hour. It was awesome to see the inside and understanding the history and purpose of the cavern and it’s evolution.
Shout out my tour guide Skeeter! He was the best! Great guide, extremely funny, and delivering an up beat, educational tour with a side of humor.
I won’t give away all the history and stories so there will not be any real spoilers from the tour but I will say this was a great experience and so glad a booked the tram tour. It was definitely something different and fun to do.

Super cool place! I have never taken a tram car thru a cavern before. Our guide was great, too. He explained everything in the cavern and how it was created. It was interesting enough down there to keep my 11 month old grandson occupied. I definitely will be back!
FYI, I have night vision on my phone. It is a lot darker than it looks...

We had a great time here. We decided on the walking tour, and it was pretty fun. The guide Olivia did a great job. It is a little pricey for what it is, but we are glad we did it. It is so neat down there. It is amazing how large it actually is in person. The entrance is a little weird, and we weren't sure we were in the right place. It is a long hallway that looks abandoned, but eventually opens up to the cave.

According to the owners quote, they "transform it into a holiday light spectacular for the Christmas season. "
If you consider displays of Marvel's avengers, Mario brothers, minions, and tanks to be part of the Christmas season, then I guess the quote is right.
Only about half of the 15 minute drive through was holiday-themed. It seems like the rest of it was put into place just as a filler.
Not to say it wasn't neat, but it's not as neat as they make it.
Brokk — Google review
The Louisville Mega Cavern tour proved to be a regrettable experience, particularly disappointing for several reasons. First and foremost, my visit did not coincide with the Christmas season, meaning that all the festive lights were packed away except for a few stray decorations lingering visibly, adding to the overall dreariness.
Furthermore, the cavern itself is not a natural formation, which diminished the excitement right from the start. The tour primarily focused on the cavern's history as a fallout shelter and a storage site for salt, interspersed with some rather dull videos. This narrative did little to enhance the experience, leaving me questioning the value of the tour.
The worst part, however, was the environment within the cavern. The air was thick with a dust reminiscent of a construction site, making it uncomfortable and raising concerns about its quality. Throughout the tour, the main sights were abandoned vehicles, sealed-off doors, and a collection of low-quality props—hardly the engaging or educational content one might expect.
Spending $20 and an hour of my time in an artificially excavated, dusty cavern observing these lackluster displays was frustrating. With the money and time at hand, almost any other destination would have provided a better experience. This was the first time I truly felt someone dared to charge $20 for a tour of what felt like a vast, polluted parking garage. The disappointment was profound, and I would strongly advise against this tour for anyone looking for a meaningful or enjoyable outing.

The zip line tour is so cool, we’re big zip line fans and doing everything in the dark with bright lights was something new and we had a really good time. The tour guides make you feel confident and safe about the whole experience. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Excellent tour with our tour guide Skeeter. Skeeter did a good job of providing us with laughs while also giving us the history of the caverns.
My family and I chose the Tram tour since we have a small child. It is cool in the cavern but not cold. We were fine with a light jacket.
It's not really a lot to see if you don't Zipline or do more of the exciting attractions. Kids might get a little bored on the tram.
It is a huge place, I think about 17 miles and the tram is about 2 miles long. It's a unique experience and one I'd definitely say to give a try.

We came here to do the Mega Quest aerial adventure course! The guides explained everything well and were friendly and helpful. We felt completely safe and confident in using our gear, the belays are easy and intuitive to use. I liked that it wasn’t a linear course, and you could go through it at your own pace and choose which routes to take. The short zip lines in it were our favorite! You’re also allowed to leave the course at any time to take a break and remove your helmet and gloves, just don’t take off your harness because then you are done. You get two hours on the course which was more than enough time, we even ended up finishing a little early because we were so sore!
I recommend short sleeves because you get really sweaty, however personally I’d recommend long pants because with all the ropes on the course, I did get a couple small rope scrapes. Nothing terrible, just keep that in mind!
There are lockers to store anything you don’t want to take/wear on the course, but it takes quarters so make sure you bring cash or prepare to use the on site ATM that charges a fee. Make sure to have cash to tip your guides too! They’re working hard for you!
We live in Ohio but I’d love to come back some day to try the full zip line course or the tram tour!

I purchased the Mega Tram ticket since I was already doing so much walking on my vacation. I called before hand and was told that the Mega Tram and the Mega Walking tours covered the same route. Our tour guide was great and made jokes along the way. The cavern was a pleasant temperature since I visited on the hottest day of the year. Definitely worth seeing if you want a break from the heat of summer but not what I would consider over the top exciting or a must-see. I like caves and caverns so I enjyed it.

We had a walking tour with Sophia. The tour was informative and interesting. There are a lot of cool facts and funny jokes as you go along.
Some cool lights to see as well in the dark.
The space could have more cool displays added with time. The adventure gym seems cool and the zip liners seemed to have fun.

Much cooler than I expected! Mega Cavern is an old limestone mine that is massive. It has some interesting history as well once being a fallout shelter. Now it is a driving tour, adventure area, zip line tour, light show and even commercial storage. Worth the visit!

This was an absolutely amazing experience for the whole family. There's a display for everyone. Dinosaurs, Christmas scenes, marvel comics characters, heavy machinery, veterans, Disney and other characters, America/USA, and amazing light shows at several places. Very entertaining and we will definitely be back again. We'll probably take the guided wagon ride through next time just for the better view!

Well worth the cost. Lots to do while waiting. I was disappointed in the gift shop. They seem to have cut back after Covid. Our tour guide was very informative. In the picture of the original caverns look close and see a man standing in the original 60 foot high cavern. They hauled in 40 feet of fill.

So much fun! Everything started on time and we were with a great group. The guides Abby and Bambie so sweet, clear about what was needed for the zip parts and had fun comments to add in. We had a blast.

We did the walking tour and it was pretty cool - the lights make it fun and it’s interesting to hear the history of the cavern. Our guide talked a LOT - could be good for people who enjoy awkward jokes and hearing the same voice non-stop, but it wasn’t for us. Might have been better with a different guide. Entrance is through a long hallway, just keep going even if it feels like you’re not at the right place.

We visited, and went on the walking tour through the Cavern, which is very much worth adding to your list of things to see/do while visiting Louisville. We explored the Cavern with a guide named Sophia, who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. At the end of the tour I asked how many times she had walked the cavern/given the tour. Expecting her answer to be in the hundreds, I was amazed to hear that it was her very first solo tour through the Cavern. She did an absolutely incredible job, and we left with a great bit of interesting information regarding the history of the Cavern, and would absolutely visit again.

More then worth the drive. The kids loved it and it was just enough time spent driving thru before it became too much. Xmas Eve was the right time to go and the price wasn't overpriced by any means. Music and lights were fabulous

A very unique display of lights, nothing compares. If you have your tickets on your phone, there's no reception in the cave at the attendant, so maybe take a picture of it, they do have your name so not a problem

10/10 recommend for families. Eat before you arrive (Wendy’s, coffee shop, and Kroger near entrance). No outside food at cave. No good food options in cave. Bring cash to tip. Buy tickets in advance. Lockers available for $1.

Absolutely loved it. We went on a weekday and got there around 10:30 to 11:00. There was no wait and we drove right in. The beginning was good and it just kept getting better and better as we went through. The finale at the end was the best experience. I highly recommend it for both kids and adults as there's plenty to see for both.
Kart Kountry is a sizable family-friendly amusement park with the most extensive go-kart track in the United States. Besides go-karts, it has plenty of activities such as bumper boats, batting cages, miniature golf, and an arcade to keep visitors of all ages entertained. However, some games may not be available due to maintenance issues at times. While most activities cost six credits or more per game, guests can purchase 100 credits for $22.
It’s an absolute blast. The giant arcade was a little too much for my kids (100+ machines), but the outside activities are the real star of the show. We played putt putt and rode the go-karts. The tickets were just $6 per activity.
Howie Lindsey — Google review
So 4 stars cause half the games was down. Bumper boats not open 😑 batting cages waiting on parts not open. Mini gold courses very well kept. Volcano course is quite a challenge. Most games take 6 credits or more. $22 for 100 credits. The go kart track was awesome if it's nice out you are gonna be waiting for awhile tho. 1 ticket 1 lap. Can't use multiple tickets you get 1 lap and get back in line.
Kayla Adams — Google review
It was my daughter's first time on go car she really did love it. we had a good time also on the bumper boats.
The only bad thing about this is i didn't know where to go to get tickets or anything until you walk around in the arcade. There's Nothing pointing you where to go to get started. Just walk around the arcade and you will find it it's kind of at the back.
Prices are fair I'm thinking it was $6 for the go-cart one lap and $6 for the bumper boats for 5 minutes.
My honest opinion is I wouldn't waste time on the bumper boats but if you have little kids this is great.

Great place to bring your kids. There are plenty of things to do for a couple hours. We played the Volcano Putt Putt Course and then we took some swings in the batting cages. Batting cage speeds were 35/40/45/50/60/70. They threw pretty consistent.
There is also an arcade with tons of games and their prize selection is way better than other arcades

Great place to make memories with the family! Fun attractions such as the 1.5 mile long go-kart course, mini golf and an indoor arcade. Would have been 5 stars but some of the arcade games were not working and a few took my credits when trying to get the game to start. It is an older place so expect some wear and tear on some of the machines but I feel it's the owner's responsibility to service their equipment when it comes time to repair them. Overall great place!

Kids had a blast. They did every attraction and played a ton of arcade games. Even the old games. They have a great selection. Even the audios got into it.

Great place to spend a couple hours with the kids. The lines for the tickets can get a little long, but that's expected. There's 2 courses for mini golf and the go kart has a pretty good long track. The go kart even has a system that keeps the line moving instead of waiting for everyone to get back at once.
Joe Forren — Google review
There should be a way to load more money into.your player card that doesn't require you standing in the very long line. Even with two people behind the desk, the line was still super long. We left after we ran out of money on the card because we didn't want to spend 30+ minutes waiting in line.
A few of the gocarts didn't run right and had a slight miss or would cut out for a second.
The mini golf was cool except for one hole that your ball would get stuck in because there wasn't enough water pressure to push it.
Brandon Cleary (th3cavalry) — Google review
Had absolutely wonderful time! Go karts, bumper boats, mini golf and arcade games it was all fun! The only disappointing thing was the snack bar was closed. Staff said it was only open on the weekends 😕What? It's summer time! Kids are out of school. My kids alone would've bought $20 worth of ice cream and slushies. I get that decision if school is in session but this is such a no brainer for the summer. I would have left 5 stars but i just couldn't.

Great experience. Versus the indoor competition elsewhere. Would highly suggest bringing in your own safety glasses , there will be debris flying from nature and from off the track. The dirt could be avoided if the track was swept before opening. The safety team on the carts are also on point. They will attend to your needs if the go kart fails while on the track.

Old Bardstown Village & Civil War Museum offers a unique opportunity to explore American history through its three distinct attractions: an American Civil War museum, a women's museum, and ten colonial era log cabins. The Civil War museum boasts an impressive collection of Union and Confederate artifacts and references, making it a must-visit destination for any history enthusiast. In addition to the indoor exhibits, visitors can also view the HL Hunley Confederate Sub on display.

Old Bardstown Village,
A collection of ten original 18th and 19th Century log structures that form a Colonial period settlement along Bardstown’s Museum Row.
The property has nice paved walkway to each cabin.
The cabins have period displays
Black smithing and historical artifacts inside
A natural waterway runs through the village it powers the water wheel at the mill house .
The path has several bridge crossings and a hidden covered bridge.
It’s a relaxing adventure into the past history of Kentucky

Amazing original buildings are well worth a visit. The museum caretaker Kenny was very helpful and knowledgeable. One tavern is as early as the 1790s. The log cabin seminary, the first established west of the Alleghany mtns, is moving due to it's simplicity.

This was so much fun! THe kids loved it as well. Being outside and able to roam around and discover what is inside the cabins. Old trades were shown and some history about local native americans. Nice short walk, it has a ramp if you cannot do stairs!

Civil War Museum was very nice. It's a self-guided tour with most antiques nicely displayed in large glass cases, many tall enough for a human. The day we were there, a living history reenactor was there to show and tell many items of the period. He was very knowledgeable and related well with people.
The Pioneer Village has some interesting cabins with a paved path. The day we were there, reenactors were supposed to be there until 5 pm. However, we went at 3 pm and the Village was empty with a few cabins open, disappointing.

The Willett Distillery is a rustic outpost where visitors can experience distillery tours, sample Willet bourbon and other spirits, and purchase gifts. The tour provides informative insights into the distilling process with ample opportunities to try different bourbons. The tasting room also has delicious appetizers available for purchase. A highlight of the experience are the single barrel "Purple top" bourbons which are unique and high quality. The facility has a welcoming atmosphere with touches of family history adding authenticity to the experience.
Our tour guide was hilarious, but also very knowledgeable. We got to see the fancy pot still and everything. I enjoyed how the tasting wasn't all at the beginning or all at the end. This tour was much more enjoyable than I expected. You do needs reservations for upstairs though. We tried going up and it was full.

It’s our second time visiting Willett, and we enjoyed both visits. Last time was during Covid, and The Bar was not open. This time we had lunch at The Bar, and it was a nice experience. Remember to make reservations in advance, or you probably won’t get seated since it very busy, a popular place. Both the food and cocktails were delicious. We did the whiskey tasting last time, and it was great, and that’s how we discovered Johnny Drum, a great choice for making Old Fashioned. Don’t miss the souvenir store. By the way, there is an adorable cat on the property. We saw it each time we visited.

The old-fashioned cocktail we enjoyed at Willett Distillery was perfect in every way, perfectly crafted and served with precision. The unique technique of cooling the glasses with dry ice added an extra element of sophistication to the experience, making it truly memorable.
Not only were the drinks superb, but the small plates and appetizers served were delicious and brought out quickly, allowing us to enjoy a variety of flavors that complemented our cocktails perfectly.

Go, simply go. It's the best distillery tour and tasting I've been to. The tour is informative and it has bourbon throughout. The bar has great food as well, it's appetizer style, but delicious. Last and most importantly, the single barrel "Purple top" bourbons in the bar. They are unlike anything I tasted in the rest of distilleries They are expensive, but it's the quality and flavor that the entire rest of the industry should be pouring on their tours. It's not even close, Willet wins by a mile.

The staff was amazingly kind and friendly. They took time to talk about the distillery, the bourbon, and even their own experiences. The grounds are beautiful. And I can imagine a better day to enjoy it. What was going to be a quick stop, lasted for a couple hours as we took it all in.

One of our stops along the bourbon trail. We didn’t do a tour but stopped for a flight. The grounds are beautiful, and welcoming and the people are friendly. While many of their offerings aren’t favorites of mine many seem to really enjoy them, just a different palette than mine. Absolutely worth the stop for a pour.

Great tour! The tastings are spread throughout the tour rather than being stacked together at the end. Mason, our guide, was knowledgable, bright and cheerful. Even after the tour he visited individually with his members as they browsed the gift shop.
Knowledgeable host, beautiful distillery, excellent bourbons and now I know why!

The Willette tour is among the best ever by today's standards (very much like the old days at Wild Turkey, Barton 1792, etc where you really toured the place!) and our guide, Bianca, was outstanding. They started the tour with a tasting and had several more along the way with two different offerings at each place, and again at the end.
Cheers!

Enjoyed meeting the cats on the tour. It seems like they are working to make the space even nicer. Good products. We loved the nope signs. We enjoyed the family history touches and authenticity.

We didn't get to take the tour, but stopped in for the restaurant and gift shop. Beautiful grounds. Super friendly serving staff. The food (small plates and dessert) was tremendous. Great cocktails. Can't wait to take a tour next time we are nearby.

Beautiful distillery. Our tour guide Shannon, was outstanding. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. The food in the restaurant was excellent albeit slightly overpriced for the portions.
Now for the bad. I really wanted to love this distillery. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined at the outset by an extremely rude and unprofessional front desk worker that actually told me the person she was speaking to on the phone was “more important” than me after I waited patiently for her to get off the phone and check me in for the tour.
The whiskey is way overpriced and average at best. Charging upwards of $90 per oz at the distillery to taste their special releases is ridiculous. I felt like I was at a bar on whiskey row rather than a famed distillery. Best word to describe the vibe here is pretentious.
For a place to call itself a “Family” Estate, it is lacking the hospitality and friendliness of such an establishment. Really disappointed by this experience.

We highly recommend Willett as a tour destination. You can sample products at several stops during the tour. My wife and I were able to sample more different products than any other tour that we have taken. The grounds are beautiful and you can feel the passion that the staff has for their Bourbons, and Whiskeys.

Absolutely Beautiful campus, especially during our fall visit. Love the history, enjoy the product, friendly and knowledgeable staff and guide, love being able to get up close to the workings of the distillery and seeing workers actually present and working, and having our picture made with the working Pot Still.
The cats are a treat as.well. Loved how they knew the routines and basically made themselves at home throughout the whole tour. Will definitely recommend Willet Distillery for anyone planning a Bourbon Trail experience.

What an experience!! You actually have tastings included in the tour as you experience the different facilities. Nick our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided the best experience in Bardstown. Highly recommended to be on your Distillery visit in KY.

Of all the distilleries we did, this was our favorite. The grounds are gorgeous, their story fantastic, and the drinks great. We LOVED that the tasting was spread out at various locations on the tour. You get to see it ALL and the value is outstanding. We will come back and tour this again for sure. This is 100% worth your time.

My husband and I never visited a distillery before but this place was recommended by a friend. Our tour guide, Ila, was very personable and informative. The food at the restaurant was very good as well but make sure you make reservations if you want a table. We had a great experience. If you're looking for something different to do with your partner, we highly recommend this place!

Our tour guide Bianca was amazing! She was very informative, gave great history about the family and how Willet was started and how it still operates. She was friendly and loved her sense of humor. Tastings along the way were a hit with us, that is so different from the other tours we did. At the end Bianca asked if there was an anniversary which was ours and showed us lots of love and everyone got to try a high end purple top which was the absolute best! Later we had drinks and food upstairs which was by far the best we had anywhere! I would highly recommend the Willet tour!

We toured 5 distilleries — this was my favorite. Tastings spread out throughout the tour instead of all at once, smaller distillery with a commitment to quality and a family feel, a great bar, and great bourbon. Everyone is super friendly. Also, distillery cats are a plus!

We had SO much fun at this tour! We have visited a few places along the bourbon trail and this was by far our favorite. For the basic tour, we still got to try countless bourbons that this distillery makes, and were sent home with a nice glass from our tasting. Mason, our tour guide, was absolutely phenomenal. I will be bringing other family members back with me soon. PS: the "nope" signs are legendary, and also extremely helpful.

Favorite stop on the Bourbon Trail, and one of my favorite bourbons for sure. Shannon welcomed us at the door and then gave us one heck of a progressive tasting & tour of this little gem of a distillery. I can’t say enough great things about the vibes, the facilities, and the product of this family owned and operated place. Keep up the good work, Willett! I’m a loyal fan.
The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass is a contemporary open-air outlet mall located just a short drive from Louisville, Kentucky. It features a wide range of popular brand-name and designer shops, as well as casual eateries. Visitors can explore stores like RH Outlet, Coach, Kate Spade, Nike, and Polo Ralph Lauren. While some shoppers have found great deals here, others feel that not all stores offer significant discounts. The friendly and helpful staff make the shopping experience enjoyable for many visitors.
Very neat clean open air facility with many authentic name brand legitimate outlet priced stores. Most of these stores are ver easily accessible from the main walkways with multiple very helpful directory boards stationed around. There are multiple layers of security for your safety. The restrooms are very well kept.

We arrived at 7 o'clock in the morning, the parking lot was full. A lot of people came out to shop this year. It was very cold that day. Although there were many people, it was a happy day ! Thank you everyone who works that day.

The Outlet Shoppes offer a pleasant experience in an easily walkable layout. With most of the premium outlet brands represented, it is easy to pick up wardrobe updates at discount prices in one easy stop. Frequent sales offer the opportunity for upgraded products while saving dollars. The Shoppes offer a peaceful and safe shopping environment with lots of adequate parking easily accessible.

I feel outlet malls need to have better prices without waiting for special sale days, etc. We only bought from 2 stores. Vera Bradley and Eddie Bauer. They had some sales going. At EB, you have to be careful as there are sale signs all over, yet it might only be the shirts or lower rack on sale, etc. They have somethings on clearance marked at 70% off. Same with VB. I wish pricing was clearer.

I made a special trip here for my first time since it is well over 3 hrs drive for me. I went for 3 shops only. The first one was for shoes. The outlet was tiny and didn’t have my size. The second was closed with no explanation posted on the door. The third was the dog treat store. It was open and I bought treats and that’s why I am giving 2 stars rather than one. This is place has the smallest selections of stores of any outlet center I’ve ever been to. I won’t be back without more stores moving in.

Went with the family to do a little early holiday shopping but there was nothing early about it! The holidays are already in full swing and it's so great to be outside in nature; it feels like an element that indoor malls lacked. Special shout out to the staff at Loft because I accidentally left a shopping bag there and they went out of their way to get it back for me!

Visiting from NC and stopped to kill time before we could check in our hotel. We were so surprised by how awesome these shops were. A good variety of shops and prices/deals tend to be decent. Facilities are always clean and kept looking nice. Plenty of parking except on black Friday as is the case everywhere. The food court is OK. It's a little expensive for what it is, but there are plenty of other restaurants and gas stations directly next to it if you want other things. There's also other little snack-type places within the outlet mall. It's also dog friendly and has a dog station by Old Navy. Some stores require a carrier and at minimum a leash. Plenty of rides and game options for kids too. They decorate seasonally and have plenty of seating. There's also a fire pit area to warm up. Not an open fire. There's a wishing fountain for which proceeds go to the KY Humane Society. Be mindful that to get from store to store you will be outside so go on a day with good weather or come prepared.

I really like the outlet mall. It always gives you this sense of 'it is okay to buy' (or it might be just me). The areas are always clean, there is a good variety of stores; always have good sales going on. They decorate so pretty for each holiday/activities/special day. The bathrooms were cleaned the last time I visit and the waiting area inside of the woman's bathroom is very comfortable. I will like to see new stores thought and for some reason the times that I have been inside the food court it is always empty even if there are a lot of shoppers around.

Some stores are good. Some stores are bad. Some stores aren't even needed in an outlet mall. Shop here or don't.
I am glad we have an outlet mall close. Now we don't have to go to Indy or Georgia for outlet shopping.
The only thing I'd suggest about going here... Go with an attitude that you're not buying anything. Sometimes you'll luck upon a few good deals but a large majority of the stores say they're having deals but you'll look around and realize... They don't have any deals.

But, I generally only buy clothing at Eddie Bauer, North Face and Columbia. They happen to be very close to each other. Sometimes there are good deals. Also the chocolate shop across from Columbia is a refreshing place.
Plenty of parking. Most stores have covered entrances. Easy to get to just off of I-64.

My husband surprised me with this trip. The shops which were many, the employees were friendly and helpful. The prices are great. If you are looking for a place to shop and pretty likely find something for someone in your life or you need a shopping day for yourself. This place is where to go.The only thing I would improve on is the food court. The selections of food wasn't good, place was so small, no seats for the amount of food traffic they get everyday.

Concrete Kingdom!!! We love the different yard items we find in this store. The one at the outlets has more of a selection. My mom wanted another yard wind mill and they did not disappoint. We ended up buying the 🦉 one for our yard. Our neighbors love to stop and watch the display. I can watch them all day. I’m sure we’ll be back again.
One of the single best campgrounds we’ve been to in America. Large sites with water and electric, easy to park and get set down.
The playground was nice and the restrooms were clean and well built.
Will absolutely come again.
Awesome side note: this place is almost equidistant to all the major distilleries on the bourbon trail!

This place is gorgeous! It's about an hour drive from our home in South Lexington. We had a campout there with a troop of one of my Children's. The primitive camping area is clean and very well maintained. Nice s'more area around the campfire! We did not encounter any Critters but we keep a really clean camp area. Shower houses were not spotless but very nice and well maintained in terms of mechanics. Laundry room was clean and well maintained. Fishing off of the boat dock was really nice and convenient.

Nice State Park. Lots of kids parks, boating, fishing, hiking trails, horse back riding trails. We camped here for four nights. Sites had water and electric. They were large and well maintained
Timothy Reed — Google review
Overall this is a nice campground for primitive camping. The majority of the sites are spaced out and private but unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures online of the sites so the one we got was not private. We stayed at site #4 and it is best suited for a group of friends because your neighbors are 10-15 yards away with no trees or anything in between. The biggest issue with site #4 is there is no picnic table. Luckily we were only staying one night so not a big deal but there was no mention of it on the booking website (Reserve America).
Aside from that, it is well kept and the bath house was pretty immaculate for such a full weekend. Several playgrounds nearby if you have kids to occupy.
The main overall issue is the lack of staffing. I'm not sure if it's the usual or if there is a lack of staff in general but we got in shortly after 7PM and there was no ranger or staff to be found to get firewood. No honor system or anything so we had to venture out to find some after we got our tent up because the main office was closed as well. As a heads up, the Dollar General does not sell wood nor does the new Lakecity Mart gas station. We found a large white house/business of some sort that had an honor system and it was $10 for a massive bundle of wood. Oh and when we left on Sunday, as of about noon, there still wasn't any staff anywhere in the park that we saw. Not sure what was up with that.
Some of the hiking trails were well marked and up kept but some others were not so if you aren't good with navigation, choose wisely. Biggest issue we had was with the Gazebo Loop Trail/Pioneer Trail. Several spots were overgrown and not marked so you had to guess a little bit until you ran back into a well worn trail.
Didn't do any lake activities but the water looked nice and there was a lot of activity on it. Nice boat ramps as well.
Overall a nice stay but choose your site wisely. I took several pictures of each site to help others in the future. I didn't get site 7 or 10 because they were occupied but they are pretty nice as well but 10 is slightly open and not as secluded.

Overall we had the best week of camping and it was our best experience at any Kentucky State Park campground so far. We loved being able to rent boats at the marina and everyone was so friendly!
Only complaint is that the bathrooms at the campground need more attention. The womens was out of toilet paper for almost 2 days. And the trash was only emptied once the entire week we were there.

Taylorsville lake has a lot to offer everyone in the family. Fishing, hiking trails near and around the lake, horse park and trails, easy boat ramps and very clean bathrooms. The town of Taylorsville is clean, historic, and everyone is friendly. Weekend yard sales, farmers markets, and everything is close to the campground.

Campgrounds are cozy! We went to camp and hike as locals. Just to get away from it all for a day. The hikes are good but be warned that they seem... barely maintained in lot of spots: worn signs, lack of signs, entire portions of trail basically gone, and worst of all is the official maps provided (at least on the website) are horrendously lacking in terms of landmark and precision. We almost got lost. Almost. It only took us 4 miles to do a 2.7 mile hike!
But other than the hiking trails being inaccurate according to the map we enjoyed ourselves.
Joseph “Evan” Fields — Google review
Loved the camp sites. Clean restrooms and showers. The RV pads are not completely level so we have to heighten one side. The campsites are not near the water, and the lake water seems low. We did not see any place to swim, just fish. We do not have horses but there are trails and stables to ride your horses. We did not see any place to rent them though.
Lynne Wolfe — Google review
Beautiful clean park. The hiking trails were not maintained and hard to follow in some spots but they showcased the beautiful natural area around the lake. It was very peaceful and serene. The restrooms were closed for the season. The only play ground for children was in the campground.

If your looking for a campground for a weekend getaway and you live in or near Louisville. This park is a good choice. They have two nice play areas for the younger campers and two shower houses. The staff is always friendly. The RV - Trailer lots are spacious and mostly shady. The primitive / tent camping is very nice and offers some secluded lots if you want to rough it.

Thank you for least they not forget. This is one of the best Civil War preservation places I have ever seen and thank you for that because we should never forget the sacrifices are fore fathers made for are American freedoms. Tours of a bourbon-making facility, plus tastings & merchandise at a visitor center with bar & shop.
We really enjoyed our tasting at Four Roses. The grounds here are really beautiful and their buildings have great Spanish architecture. When we arrived it looked like the group for our tasting was going to be really large, however, we were broken up into smaller groups and brought to a tasting room so it felt more personal. Summer, our guide did a great job teaching us about the Four Roses history and about the bourbon. You can bring children into this distillery. It isn’t a 21+ distillery only, but I would suggest if you don’t have too - then don’t. There is plenty of parking here and the restrooms are super nice.

Gorgeous campus! The campus will remind you of an old Spanish Mission. The tour was great. One aspect I loved is they gave everyone earbuds so you could wander a bit and explore while still hearing every word of the tour guide. At the end of the tour you got to taste the best of Four Roses Bourbon and got to hear from one of their master distillers. They let you keep the glass, which is a really nice sipping glass. Overall just a fantastic bourbon experience!

Finally got the chance to see it personally, Four Roses is a beautiful distillery, it also has a brand new visitor center which is really nice with a cool bar. There are no rick houses to see as the barrels are stored elsewhere but they give you a detailed information on the distilling and allow you to get up, close and personal with it. You have to wear headsets also which are a little bit clunky, but overall a really good tour. Everyone was so helpful at the shopping center.

This is a sprawling distillery campus with gorgeous views. The gift shop is very large with a bar serving some great cocktails.
The bourbon is high quality, but also readily available at all liquor stores. You might be able to snag a speciality single barrel before it is available outside of the distillery. I paid $100 for an OBSV single barrel that ultimately made it to Total Wine for $60 (on sale).

Always good to get good lessons and history from those that love what they do. Our guide for the tasting, Jason ensured we had a great experience, even before doing the tasting, he didn't mind stepping away from the bar to answer questions me and my buddy had. And the facility was beautiful.

I had a lovely time walking through the whole distillery process. The guide really focused on the different ways four roses makes a batch, then how the batches are mixed to create the final whiskeys. He talked about how FR has a one story distillery so there is less temperature difference and more consistent end product. The four whiskeys I tried were all delicious. Great tasting room.

Beautiful Spanish style distillery with lots of history. The grounds were very pretty with lots of picture-esque spots.
Took a nice sip and stroll tour by a tour guide named Jason who did a great job. Tour provided a great insight on the distillery with an included tasting of 4 bourbons: their name brand basic four roses, the small batch, the single barrel, and the small batch select bourbon. All great tasting notes in their own way.

Made it to Four Roses shortly before they closed while checking out the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The facility is beautiful! The location was perfect. The weather played nice for the 12pm show. The staff was not only extremely knowledgeable but extremely kind. They all felt like they loved working there and loved the product. Edwina in particular was very pleasant. Her facts were vast and her jokes were hilarious. The bartender was also very knowledgeable and courteous. My only want was for there to be something only available there for the tours. I understand there are sometimes bottles but we would have loved to see even airplane bottles of something we could only get there. Overall absolutely fantastic and highly recommend!

My visit to the Four Roses Distillery was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped onto the property, I was immersed in the rich history and craftsmanship of bourbon making.
The tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, and they took us through every step of the bourbon-making process, from selecting the unique strains of yeast to the beautiful aging warehouses. It was fascinating to learn about the brand's dedication to quality and their commitment to using only the finest ingredients.
Of course, the tasting at the end of the tour was a highlight. Sampling the different varieties of Four Roses bourbon was a treat for the senses. Each one had its own distinct flavor profile, and I left with a newfound appreciation for the art of bourbon tasting.
The distillery itself is a picturesque gem, with well-maintained grounds and a charming atmosphere. It's clear that they take pride in their heritage and in providing an exceptional visitor experience.
Whether you're a bourbon enthusiast or just looking for a unique and educational outing, I highly recommend a visit to the Four Roses Distillery. It's a true gem in the world of bourbon, and I can't wait to return!

So for this trip, we had only gone in the gift shop to explore and buy bourbon, but the place is so beautiful, and the smells of the bourbon in the air were so yummy, that I definitely want to come back for a tour and tasting! We had toddlers with us, that weren’t entirely thrilled to be there, and while the employees were nice and welcoming to our kids, it didn’t seem super kid friendly, especially because the set up in the store gave me a heart attack anytime one of my kids got too close. But they still get 5 stars anyway, because they were very nice (to me and my kids), the place was beautiful, and I definitely want to come back!
Time-tested distillery offering its own brand of bourbons & warehouse tours with tastings.
Such an AWESOME experience! I loved every minute of visiting Buffalo Trace. It almost felt like you were in a town of itself. One tip I'd give is to definitely make a reservation before heading over there for the day. They are continuously busy so it's hard to just show up and expect to be able to schedule a tour. Aside from that, the tasting/ tour is very cool and they have a huge gift shop where you can purchase a bottle at the end of the tour!
Mackenzie Feeley — Google review
Hard to find anything bad to say. Lee, our guide on the Old Taylor Tour, was our best guide of the trip. His knowledge and insight was fantastic. The gift shop has so much great merchandise it’s hard to determine what to take home. The tasting was great and I loved the bourbon ball and Freddie’s root beer with Bourbon cream combo. My harshest critique is that beyond the rotation releases you aren’t getting anything special here. But the grounds are perfect. The expansion will bring twice as much bourbon to the market eventually. This is the Mecca and a must stop. So much history.

Phenomenal experience!! Our Trace Tour with Jimmy C was educational but light hearted enough that we could easily joke around and/or ask questions. The distillery itself is massive, but so well maintained! I wish I could bottle the smell in the air.
Staff in the gift shop were friendly, personable, and beyond helpful. Additionally, the gift shop had such a great array of everything! I ended up spending way more than I intended, but self restraint kept me from spending what I wanted to... so we'll call this balance.
We had a great time and learned even more about bourbon than anticipated. We can't wait for a visit back to Buffalo Trace the next time we are in Kentucky!

Had a phenomenal experience on the tour and tasting. Our tour guide was informative and I really enjoyed seeing the distillery and the amazing scenery surrounding the facility.
The tasting did feel a little bit rushed, probably lasting no more than 15 minutes or so. But all of the samples were delicious, including the surprisingly smooth vodka and the really delicious root beer.
The gift shop is gigantic, and were we fortunate enough to get in early and grab a bottle of EH Taylor.
Overall, highly recommend the tour and tasting.

Visited Buffalo Trace Distillery with some friends for a bachelor party. What a great experience. If you enjoy bourbon, you will enjoy visiting this distillery. Our tour guide, Eugene, was knowledgeable and professional. He showed us some great spots around the grounds and then led the tasting after the tour. Lots of interesting history here at Buffalo Trace. Even got to see some Pappy Van Winkle and Eagle Rare.

Historic facility, iconic brand, popular destination to purchase bourbon. Free tour was nice and keep in mind you are limited to one bottle per brand per person. Apparently there is a bourbon shortage.
The tour focuses quite a bit on the history. In fact about 25 minutes of the 70 minute tour was spent on the oral history. There is a short walk around the grounds, a stop in the barrel receiving dock, a short walk into one of the barrel aging warehouses, a quick stop in the Blantons bottling room, and finally a tasting room stop. It was an average tour compared to other breweries or distilleries visited. The tour was rather limited in geography--no access to the brewing room or basically any views of how the booze is made--that was disappointing.
Note--Eagle Rare sells out within an hour of opening on most days. I don't understand why they limit it so much. You'll find alcoholics, hipsters, and old-timers jogging from the parking lot to the gift store when it opens to make sure they secure their ONE bottle. Very strange. Good for Buffalo Trace for building a brand loyalty though.
Hat tip to Todd for an entertaining tour.

Let me start off by saying that they offer sampling even if you are not doing a tour. I feel this is key when it comes to new whiskeys you haven't tried. The staff is very nice and informative. The sample process is also very well structured. The gift shop is very large. We purched a ton. Definitely will return someday!

This was a magical experience! You cannot miss this one of a kind tour and it's totally free. The engineering that goes into how they make their whiskeys is phenomenal and mind-blowing. The experience of the tour guides is second to none and you will learn things you never thought of. I'm a fan of American Bourbon and this tour sets everything I believe in stone. Not to mention the whiskeys that will be available to you in the tasting and in the gift shop. It's worth multiple returns!!

Great tour! Very informative and worthwhile. The tasting and gift shop were icing on the cake. They had plenty of EH Taylor small batch available. Will be back for the hard hat tour next

One of the best free things I've ever done. All though i enjoy bourbon, i definitely didn't know much about it. During this tour, you learned pretty much everything about the process and the history of the distillery over the years. I am a buffalo trace fan and it was interesting tasting the difference between a $30 dollar bottle and a much higher priced bottle. I would definitely do it again.

Very organized! So you go in and park, then go to the visitor center/check in to get your IDs scanned and a wrist band. Then you walk into the actual gift shop and tasting room. There’s 2 stories, the upper level has the tasting rooms you go to after the tour and where you can taste of several bourbons (no charge), and then a small tasting station in the first floor for 1 special bourbon (I tasted the Traveler). Pretty cool! Ask them why the buildings and trees are black!!!!

We loved hearing the stories and learning the history about all the brands. Patrick was an EXCELLENT tour guide and tasting leader. Beautiful campus and gift shop! I don’t remember their names but the lady from Hungary that checked us in for our tour and the lady who checked us out in the gift shop… both super friendly and excellent as well.
The only negative was the lack of variety in the bourbon available for purchase.
We had a fabulous overall experience and will be back!

Great tour, tasting, and visit. It is great to see progress on the expansion. We visited on a Monday and didn't have a reservation for a tour or tasting. They were able to fit us in even though everything was unavailable online. They now have a tasting room above the gift shop, so it is worth just showing up and doing what you can. The earlier you arrive, the better the chance to score some bottles from the gift shop.

I will return again someday. We enjoyed every minute of it. I love how they belief in their product. They give free tours with a free tasting at the end. They do so well that their tours are often booked solid. Make reservations before you go.

Visited the famous Buffalo Trace distillery on my recent trip to KY. The grounds are awesome! If you’re looking for some of the allocated bottles I’d suggest getting there early. The gift shop is amazing and the fact that they don’t charge for the tour is also an added plus. We did the “hard hat” tour, it was a neat behind the scenes experience. Make sure to try a bourbon ball along with some Freddie’s root beer and bourbon cream. A must stop piece of American history!

We loved our first ever visit to this beautiful historic distillery we went 2 more days!Arboretum tour, The trace tour & a gift shop only day. Got there at gift shop opening time each day and we’re able to purchase our “quota” of the special bottle offering of the day. A complimentary tasting even comes with visiting the gift shop if you’re not scheduled for a tour! Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and really seem to enjoy what they do. Leave time in your day to wonder the grounds, especially the gardens which are open to the public. There’s even a playground in that area for kids. The woodworker was very informative and it was fun to see his shop. We ate at Firehouse Sandwich shop for lunch & it was delicious. We truly enjoyed each day!

Took the Old Taylor Tour and the Hard Hat Tour and they are fantastic experiences! The tour guides are very informative and give excellent information about the distillery and the history of the property and the bourbon made there. The Gift Shop provides great selections at unrivaled prices. The staff are all very nice and provide a nice feel all over the campus.

Buffalo Trace has very deeps roots in bourbon history, which you can learn during their free tours. It is a very neat place to visit, with people visiting from all around the globe. Scheduling a tour is a bit of a nightmare, because all of the tour slots are full months in advance. I recommend going on the waitlist for whichever date you want, because that’s how I was able to get in. You are able to visit the distillery without a tour and just visit the gift shop, which I don’t like because bourbon resellers come early in the morning and purchase the limited bottles they set out before the tour people can get to them. I believe that purchasing these bottles should be limited to touring customers. The gift shop has a lot of near BT products as well. There is a free bourbon tasting area, however, if you’re in a tour you cannot do a tasting since there is a free tasting at the end of the tour. I was fine with that until I realize both tastings had different offerings so I wasn’t able to taste all of the bourbons. Our tour guide was great and taught us everything about the BT history and showed us around some remarkable buildings. I recommend this place if you want to learn more about bourbon history and see how it’s made, but try to plan ahead and arrive early if you want a Blanton’s or EH Taylor bottle.

I loved it here. We did the Taylor tour and had a good time listening to all the history. Shout out Annie for being such a good guide. Even of you don't drink it's still fun to walk around and enjoy the history. If you're like me and don't drink, you can still be part of the tasting and they just give you the delicious root beer. Tons of fun

Buffalo trace: Around $30
Blantons: Around $65
Eagle Rare: Around $50

We got up at 3am and drove over 8 hours to check out this distillery and it was worth it! I gotta say the fact that the distillery keeps the alcohol prices at MSRP makes me a loyal customer. You can tell they really care about their customers. Form what I gather most the special liquor of the day is usually sold out around noon. I hope this helps!
Bourbon distillery with a modern visitor center offering tours & tastings with Kentucky River views.
Beautiful distillery. Gift shop and welcome center are very well put together. I strongly suggest that you visit the bar around back before you go into the gift shop. As the glasses on the inside are at for sale at $12.95. However however if you order a drink at the bar you get a free complimentary glass to go with it and a normally range around 12 to $15 a shot. But in terms you still get that $12 glass for free

We had a great experience at Wild Turkey. The temporary gift shop is small but more than adequate.
We got to meet Russell and he signed a few bottles for us.

Wild Turkey Distillery had a great gift shop, wonderful, fun, funny and informative guide. And the absolute BEST view we saw in the state of KY. Our guide presented all the history and then had fun with all of us during the tasting. He gave examples of recipes to make with Wild Turkey. I loved the American Honey the best. We tasted American Honey Sting at the bar and bought a bottle of that to take home. Good Bourbon. Make sure you put this on your itinerary for the Bourbon Trail.

We drove quite a long time to get here. My husband has been drinking wild turkey for many many years. When we got there we were greeted, not really, being told that we were three minutes late and the testing was closed. Lots of people were in the tasting room. The employees that were talking to us We’re not friendly, not welcoming. We’ve visited several other distillery’s in town over the last few days and even without a reservation and or walking in late we were always greeted with a warm welcome. We will now find a new bourbon to drink on a daily basis. Bye-bye wild turkey.

The primary gift shop was temporarily closed due to construction, but we were able to visit the pop-up gift shop on the property. We had the opportunity to meet Jimmy Russell which was amazing. The shop had a good selection of allocated bottles. Hopefully when we return the gift shop is completed and we will be able to schedule a distillery tour.

The gift shop was nice but small. Currently, the actual distillery is closed to visitors. If you are far away, don’t drive up for a limited bottle, even though the website states they have some for sale. Don't waste 3 hours and 20 minutes like I did. I'm from Texas and love the whisky, but I could have purchased what was in stock anywhere.

At this time Wild Turkey has a temporary pop up gift shop since the main visitors center is under renovation.
The temporary location is basically a gift shop selling everything Wild Turkey with a small cocktail lounge.
There was no one attending the bar when we visited so no idea on prices or what they offer.
Bottle prices are slightly higher than what you can purchase at a box store so unless it's a rare release, nothing too special at this location.
Hopefully on our next visit, the main visitors center will be available as well as tours.

They offer a gift shop with some nice items for reasonable prices. You can also head to the bar and order a drink. They offer a small amount of indoor room to drink but you are allowed to sit outside with your drink. If you pay a bit more you also get to keep your drink glasses. The bathrooms are outside (fancy porta). Overall this was a nice stop that I'm happy we didn't skip.

Terrific experience!!
We have toured several of the distilleries on the Bourbon Trail and made a lot of great memories along the way. Most of them have been very nice and we've always been pleased. I had high hopes for Wild Turkey Distillery. That being said, the experience here was incredible!! The grounds are nice, with beautiful views of the Kentucky River below you and two majestic bridges over it. The visitors center looks almost small from the parking area, but trust me, it's not small at all! It's a spacious building with great displays, terrific views, a wonderful gift selection, and maybe a Kentucky legend or two! When I first walked in the door, I immediately saw him sitting there in a chair close to the door.... the legendary Jimmy Russell, Master Distiller! He was talking with the visitors, signing bottles and other souvenirs, and offering genuine smiles and conversation. I was excited to ask him to sign a bottle of his own signature Wild Turkey Rare Breed, which he did with a smile!
The staff was beyond incredible! Polite, helpful, informative, and just plain fun..... they are what made our visit so special! The historic grounds, the beautiful views, and the facility could all be easily overlooked if the staff weren't so memorable as well! Oh, be sure to try out the Wild Turkey Call in the gift shop! If you're not doing it loud enough, Jimmy Russell himself might come over and show you how to do a Wild Turkey call like you mean it!
We had a terrific time at Wild Turkey! It was a great experience and I highly recommend a visit!

Nice little visitor center. Go to the back and try their bourbon and rye. You get to keep the glass.
Established since 1812, a whiskey producer operates at a charming building complex and offers tours and tastings. Located in Versailles, it is only a 30-minute drive away from the place where the Castle & Key Distillery sits. The latter has been generating national attention recently as it was built on the former headquarters of Old Taylor Distillery constructed in 1887 but remained unused for four decades. If you haven't heard of Castle & Key yet, you will soon enough.
The grounds of distillery and the interior spaces are beautiful. If you plan to go to the cocktail bar, go before going to the gift shop. We went in the wrong order and had to make a second gift shop trip after tasting the great beverages. Alcoholic beverages at the cocktail bar come in a free souvenir cup. The "mocktails" were delicious too!!! We took the recipe cards back to the gift shop to purchase the mule mixes and bitters to make them at home. We would visit again to try a tour or tasting.

The tour was very informative and the tour guide was down to earth and very relatable! We were told that it was a 90 minute tour, but even though it went down to 50 minutes, it was still a great tour. We went to the tour and tasting, and the tasting was the best part. Getting to sample the different bourbons, and experiencing all the flavors were something different. Would recommend and would go again and again!

We spent a few hours at this beautiful distillery in central KY. For full disclosure Woodford has always been my favorite. We brought along our family and an out of state visitor from New York. The new welcome center is great! Our guide was informative and very pleasing during the tour. The tasting and discussions at the end are worth the trip alone. Our out of state visitor had never been to "horse" country or to an actual distillery and Woodford is perfectly matched for both

We visited the cocktail bar at Woodford Reserve. The bar was very nice. The cocktails are a bit pricey but definitely worth it. They also serve some small bites to eat, we got a cheese platter, which was very good. You can bring children here, it isn’t a 21+ only bar, however, if you don’t have to - I wouldn’t. There was plenty of parking here and the bathrooms were very nice and clean.

This location is by far the best of any bourbon distillery! The horse farms along the roads as you travel in on the rolling hills are absolutely stunning! Very tranquil experience that gave you a very peaceful mindset as you toured the campus! A must visit if you are visiting Frankfurt. Beautiful setting. Visitor center impressive. Felt a little like herded cattle but our guide was great. We stopped by the Woodford cocktail lounge, and the gift shop.
It was such a beautiful and peaceful space!
The cocktail lounge was fantastic! You walk into the building and order your drinks or tastings. You get a metal key card to give to the bartenders outside. The cocktails are served in awesome souvenir glasses that you can take home as well!
The cocktails were absolutely delicious!
The gift shop had a great selection of merchandise and bottles for purchase.
Highly recommend stopping at Woodford!

We participated in the food pairing and tasting. The tasting itself was fun and educational but the “food” provided was simple grocery store snacks- you get one tiny helping of each - nothing fancy. They also offered a masters collection option during the tasting that is sold out and not able to be purchased- so why offer it. The experience was good for only $25 per person. Their distillery was set up really nice and the bar across the street had some rare items that can be purchased as a pour but not an entire bottle ( double double) $65 per pour.

Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, KY is only a short drive East of Louisville; and ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! The tour last slightly over an hour, and had us hanging on every word! The facility is a national historic landmark; the structures, equipment, & process are absolutely impressive. To round off the tour, you not only enjoy a Straight Bourbon tasting, but also a crash course to becoming a sommelier!

Decided to go and visit Woodford Reserve Distillery while we were in town visiting a friend. Overall, i thought this place looked very modern and interior feel looked nice with a glass display of their bottle as decoration. Right across from their gift shop building, they also had a separate building specifically for cocktail bar so we decided to go and check it out. I tried their drink called "Spire" which was very tasty and didn't have an overwhelming amount of bourbon. With every cocktail purchase, you also get a free chilling copper cup to take home as well, which is very nice (u can also buy them at the gift shop)!
Definitely check em out if you're in town!

Our drinks came in copper cups which were nice we got to keep them great for doing mules in. I took the tour and tasting with my service animal, and our tour guide was awesome. I learned a lot and took some amazing photos. The shots you get at the end were a cool experience. You're able to taste all the different types. The prices in the gift shop for whiskey were so cheap. Being able to walk the grounds and see all the old buildings was a cool experience. The way you come in by the horse farms is a very beautiful drive. They have an awesome place for you to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. If you like whiskey, then you should take this tour and won't be let down. I will definitely go back again.

If you’re going to do one tour and want to see the earliest history of Whiskey/Bourbon in Kentucky this is the tour to go on. The original building where they actually make Woodford Reserve was built in 1838, the two buildings next to it in the late 1800’s. The visitor center is also very nice and has a lot of cool stuff. Didn’t find anything special in their Whiskey/Bourbon offerings available for purchase but very much enjoyed the experience.

On our Bourbon Trail visit we stopped at Woodford. The environment her felt very upscale. The grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting outdoors and having a specialty drink in their bar area. The only thing I noticed is the staff wasn’t as friendly here as some of the other distillery’s we visited. Still an overall 5 star experience.

One of the most beautiful distilleries around! I was not able to take a tour, but based on the apparent history around you as you walk around, it’s convinced me to want to come back again so that I can learn more about Woodford!
It feels like you’re driving around English country roads, everything looks very aged and historic, and the gift shop is stunning.
The only downside my husband and I experienced was the feeling that our kids weren’t really welcome. Especially compared to places like Buffalo Traverse, where kids are almost encouraged to learn and experience with their parents, that feeling did not exist at Woodford. HOWEVER, I mention that, and still give this distillery 5 stars because I still thought it was beautiful, and will gladly leave my kids home next time so I can come back and visit and get the full experience of the distillery.

My wife and I had a phenomenal time yesterday at Woodford Reserve. Or experience was highlighted by our tour guide Kathy. Her personality, charm, enthusiasm, and wit was so infectious and welcoming. Visiting the various distilleries give you a greater understanding of the history of bourbon within the walls and stories surrounding each one. Woodford’s historical past blessed with the youth of its bourbon today was an example of what it has to offer.

AMAZING!!! Woodford Reserve is a truly special place nestled in the hills of Kentucky thoroughbred farms. If the aroma of the mash doesn’t peak your senses, the architecture of the original buildings will. The entire team was super hospitable and Ashley was our guide through the experience. I highly recommend if you're going to do this tour and tasting to make it your last stop. We really enjoyed every tour and tasting we did but Woodford Reserve was the classiest place. They really put a lot of effort into elevating to a higher level. I did think the old Forester tour was better but this was the best tasting out of everyone we did. The small bites they give you is each bourbon and the educational and informative information during the tasting was top notch.
Large winery hosting a tasting room & tours, a lunch cafe, plus on-site bed-&-breakfast lodging.

Came here for a Valentines Day Dinner.
Way over priced.
Had to serve ourselves when it came to, drinks, making sure our order was being prepared even though we ordered in advance and had to pay in advance, and reminding them we were ready for each course even dessert.
On top of this, no one told us we had to do all of this. We kept waiting for a waiter or waitress. When after 30 min no one came to our table we went and asked questions. So you are your own waiter/waitress.
As far as the food, it was fine but nothing to brag about.
Also, the cost did not include any type of drink. So after over paying for food, you also had to pay for all drinks. Tea was not even included. There was no water on the table so you had to go get a glass of water yourself every time your glass was empty.
I do not recommend this place for Valentines Dinner.

For many of the wines the grapes are from other states but in Kentucky that serves to make them better. The Cabernet Sauvignon was very good; grapes from New York. The food that we had was very good. We had an excellent margherita pizza, one of the best I’ve had. The setting is very nice. It is adjacent to Elk Creek Hunt Club so there is audible skeet shooting.

For being a vineyard they have very few wines, service was so so. we were here two years ago for our god daughter’s engagement. They had a good verity of wine, to day they had only one red and two white along with some fruity wines. Tastings we’re over priced for what you got compared to other vineyards within a 50 radius. Would not drive two hours let alone a hour for a pour experience

The wine and food were great. You might want to do a special menu item more often just to have options. Also consider adding a veggie burger sandwich. You can store the veggie burgers frozen and don't have to buy them in large quantities-- one more menu option.

We found this winery on Groupon 5 years ago and fell in love with the surroundings, wine, and seclusion. We go back for an overnight date night once a year and decided to get married there 2 years ago. It's an hour and half from home and it's nice quiet quick getaway. The place itself and wine are great the only compliant I have is the food/menu is definitely lacking. The feel of the place is upscale and I wish the menu reflected that as well however we will continue to celebrate our anniversary there every year as it holds a special place in our hearts 💕
Quaint rooms, suites & cottages in a bucolic setting with history exhibits & farm-to-table dining.
We picked this destination out of curiosity more than anything else. It was the best decision we could have made. The whole experience was wonderful, calming, restful and the scenery is just gorgeous. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the meals were delicious and our room was lovely. We walked miles and took some wonderful photos. A truly memorable experience and we will go back!

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This site will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is the best rated in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be disappointed.
A great place for adding culture and history to any vacation in the area. Beautiful grounds to explore, delicious food to enjoy and tours that are all worth while. The staff is knowledgeable and are all required to do their own research on the shakers using journals kept by the shakers themselves. Super cool!

I did not stay over night. We enjoyed home cooked foods, chicken, burgers, catfish and fries, ice tea all superb. Not sure about wheel chair accessibility I to building. Definitely not front entrance 4 or 5 large stone steps with iron railing. Most areas are lined with sidewalks.

We attended the annual Craft Fair. All vendors on a gravel path with shade which made the warm day easier. Good variety, though some duplicates, quality vendors, ample room to walk along vendor row. Food vendors nearby though some were running out of food by mid afternoon. Plenty of picnic tables but most didn't have shade and luckily it was a cloudy day. Buildings were open for self tours. There were demonstrations during the day.
Parking was plentiful with staff to guide attendees. It was a long walk from our parking space, but we did get a ride from staff back to our car as we were leaving which was a welcome sight for an old fat man.
This was our first visit, plan to be back next year, and will be back to tour the grounds soon.

This place was incredibly beautiful and well maintained. My husband and I spent our honeymoon night in the "Family Wash House". Our room was so charming and it had the perfect mix of old and modern. My only complaint is that the buildings were not easy to identify. The signs were small and the direction placcards were kind of vague. The staff was very friendly. The prices of the items at their gift shop were pretty high, with most of the goods claiming to be handmade. I wish we could have stayed longer and maybe taken a tour or something, but to do so would take a lot of money. We got the feeling that this place caters mostly to older adults with higher incomes. This place is pet friendly, but we saw many "dog piles" throughout the grounds. Please pick up after your animals!!!! Our room had its own thermostat, which I thought was pretty cool. They didn't have like those generic wall appliances which many hotels have. We would definitely love to go back to maybe ride the horses or something similar. Overall it wad a wonderful experience.

Beautiful shaker village! Store is basically open 24-7 (check in there) walking tours and amazing restaurants with simple and BEAUTIFUL accommodations. Spend a few days here enjoying serenity. Excellent food. Winter Kitchen only in off-season, but food is great! Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Another peaceful stay with fine meals and excellent tours. Our dinner and breakfast meals featured local farm-raised products. The tour guides on Saturday morning were great story-tellers of the community's history.
This was our fourth visit, and we'll return again. The price of the room included tour tickets for the next day.

I really can't say enough good things about this place. The surroundings and history are magical and the food is to die for. As good as any fine dining in Lexington for a reasonable price. You're out the door for 120 with tip for two people including three alcoholic drinks. Great service (thanks, Devin!) and professional staff. Just make a date and go. No salt and pepper on the tables and there's a reason for that. You won't need them.

We attended the harvest festival today and had so much fun. There was a great mix of things to do alot of which did not cost anything. My three year old grandson loved his first pony ride. The day was gorgeous and there were some great food trucks there
I could go on and on. Will definitely attend next year.

We have been there twice. It is a very educational historical site. You can learn old trades, see the animals, how they built their buildings by using gravity and not nails. The place is filled with wonderful people who over working there and it shows!
The second time we spent the night. The room was clean with a good bed and nicely decorated.
The restaurant is like a five star restaurant. The food was hot, delicious and our server was great. Attentive, but not hovering. We will be going again for the experience and food.

My boyfriend and I kind of stumbled upon this place when we visiting the area. We were shocked for what we received for the affordable price. Room was clean, cozy and teleported us back in time (in a good way). The staff embodied southern hospitality. Our breakfast was yummy and they made a great cup of coffee. There were many walking trails on the grounds. This would be a great weekend get away for couples and families.

Fascinating story, well presented tour, and carefully preserved architecture that you can explore in a beautiful setting. Didn't try the busy finer dining restaurant but it's popular, get reservations. The grab and go lunch prepacks were okay. Did not stay in the overnight rooms but a companion had. They found it charging but also disturbingly quiet for urban dwellers!

Husband booked us in for just one night between meetings and visits we were doing in the area. It was so lovely. The grounds are wonderful. I’m still thinking about the bed and linens on the bed - it was perfection. I felt like the bed/mattress & sheets were brand new - it was a delicious nights sleep. The dinner in the restaurant was wonderful from appetizers to desserts. In the morning the breakfast was delicious & relaxing before spending the morning exploring the grounds. FYI no elevators as you might expect.

I went here with my husband and 5 year old grandson. The rail was very visibly marked and easy to hike for all three of us. We stopped at the shop first where grandson picked out a nature bingo game. He loved trying to find the items on the trail. Picnic in front of waterfall and a race back to the car… all of this led to a certain someone napping on the way back home!

My wife & I visited Shaker Village on a Tuesday and were there from 9 am to 5 pm and really enjoyed ourselves. We visited Welcome Center to buy our tickets and then took 10 am tour to introduce us to Shaker Village. Then we enjoyed a music presentation and then toured the village/farm/cemetery on our own. There are gift shops, a restaurant, bikes you can rent. Staff are very nice. At the end of the day we enjoyed a poultry parade and enjoyed feeding the ducks.

Shaker Village is a historic settlement and a great blessing to all of us who have had the privilege of visiting, lodging and or dining there.
Katherine and I stayed at Shaker Village over four years ago, and we found ourselves coming back to Kentucky (10/2023) and on our last day, made an impromptu stop at Shaker Village to eat dinner.
Reservations are definitely recommended.
The tomatoes, celery soup was outstanding and definitely a five out of five stars. The soup of the day that Katherine has was a garlic mashed potato soup and we both thought it was exceptional.
The creole shrimp was very good, but the type of spice and seasoning and broth was not my personal preference. I like more of a blackened shrimp with a Cajun spice and maybe no broth.
The portion of shrimp was generous and they were at least jumbo in size! The ciabatta toast points were very good with the meal.
We also have a beet salad and it was very refreshing and the sliced pear was a nice addition. They definitely could’ve used more beets though.

I took a little trip away from the noise of Lexington. Shaker Village was an awesome choice.
The location is beautiful with little traffic noise from the nearby road.
The buildings are historic and well kept. My room was very clean and comfortable. There was quite a lot of noise from nearby guests throughout the night, as they did not take into consideration other guests. With wood floors the sound sure does travel. Perhaps when guests check in, they should be reminded of their manners, to keep the noise down.
I had breakfast and dinner. Both meals were very good. Tammy and Devin provided excellent service.
The entire staff was kind and helpful.
I'm hoping to return in the winter.

We had Thanksgiving dinner in the dining room. As always, the atmosphere and the service was excellent. We arrived 15 min. before our reservation and we were seated early.
However, the food was not as outstanding as it usually is. The dressing was very bland, with hardly any seasoning, cranberry relish was very dry, and the chocolate cheese pie was overly sugary, almost a "gritty" consistency. I always love going to Shakertown for the holiday, but I was a little disappointed this year.

A wonderful historic venue. Our food was delicious. The pork chop was wonderful, but way too large for a single portion. Had I known how large, we would have split the entree. If we were home we could have had it for leftovers, but we were traveling and leftovers were just something we didn't want in the cooler.
The grounds and historical discussions were enlightening. The dossens were very knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend it to people who like history.
The Keeneland Race Course is a prestigious racetrack located in Lexington, Kentucky. It hosts various horse racing events throughout the year, including the prestigious Breeders' Cup World Championships. The track is also home to an impressive collection of equestrian-themed gifts and souvenirs.
Absolutely recommend this experience. What a gorgeous race track. We had so much fun. Highly encourage you to buy tickets well in advance. This place sells out quickly. Parking was great, no issues getting in or out however, we did stay until all races were done. Many people left before hand.
Get your race brochure when you walk in so you are prepared. So many windows open for betting and the people helped you if you are new to placing your first bet. After that, you'll be a pro.
Above all, we found the horse betting is a lot like March Madness, there is no crystal ball on who will win so picking your favorite name or cool color is definitely a strategy 😉

Enjoyed the park, beauty, hospitality - even in the off season they are open, let you walk and tour facilities on your own, see the track, box houses, go to stadium, tour beautiful grounds, see horses ( early in morn), see gift shop etc. It's all very clean, well maintained, quality painted, seems like nothing but the best everywhere. But the landscape, seems like thousands of acres of beautifully maintained grounds. I can't even keep my little yard half as good as they keep there's! Now the gift shop is exquisite too both that's both in quality too and the related prices.

Spectacular track! We were able to catch an early morning practice - which is free and open to the public. It was 29 degrees and sunny - which made for a magnificent experience.
We parked and walked track side and wee so close we could see, hear and smell the entire experience.
I definitely recommend calling ahead for hours and training location, this changes depending upon time of year.
Of note is the Track Kitchen restaurant which has an amazing breakfast special and is worth checking out after you watch the horses run!!

What a blast! I haven't been here for 30 years , it was amazing how it changed, I remember pulling up in the lot next to the Grand Stand. I was VERY happy to see the spittoons were gone! Also that people dont throw their tickets on the ground anymore.
The dress is a lot more casual than I remember. There were several people who took benches and moved them in a U shape to reserve them. The people behind us did that and never filled all the seats and also blocked the aisles making it difficult to get to and from our seat.
All in all it was a great day and we had a great time. Its a beautiful track.

Great time in the STAKES Room. Very nice atmosphere on 4th floor. Bar and food all included, and a betting assistance. Outside there is the balcony for great views and pictures. Food was excellent. Staff was superb. I asked about finding cheesecake and was told in the Phoenix Room and was going to get a slice after the current race, since the Phoenix Room faced the paddock. Within ten minutes some walked up with a slice of cheesecake and asked if i was looking for cheesecake... now that is service.

Most fun you can have in Lexington for $7. Parking is easy. Shuttles take you to the track. Each day has multiple races. $2 minimum bet. Get the program and pen for $5 They even have experts there to advise you if like most folks you have no idea about what is going on. See the horses in the paddock and then watch the race from the general admission area the view is excellent. You can bring in some small camp chairs if you need to sit. For food absolutely get the Ruben and for dessert the bread pudding is an unbeatable classic. Have a great day doing some People watching and enjoy all the outfits, dresses, hats, and fanciers. Once you put $2 on a horse to place another $2 on one to win and final $2 on a couple to show your invested and will find yourself yelling "come on 3 let's go!!!" And high fiveing strangers over your win. Or commiserating a loss. Really, if you have a free Wednesday to Sunday in this area in April or October you must visit for the culture the fun and just general pleasant vibes.

We visited the track early on a beautiful summer morning. No meets at this time of year, but we grabbed breakfast from the Track Kitchen and enjoyed it while waiting for the horses. Very fortunate to see training at the main track; watching them run is a sight to see.
Also drove around the grounds - gorgeous! - and really enjoyed our time here.
Definitely worth a stop even in the off-season.

This review is for the tours only. I’ve never seen the races so I cannot comment on those. However, I’m sure it’s exhilarating.
Our tour guide was Diane and she was absolutely fabulous. Keeneland is rich in history, beauty, and experiences. I would definitely recommend doing the tours if you are not familiar with horse racing. They have several different tours so pick which one suits you best. I believe tours are seasonal; call or look at their site to make sure. They also have so many events throughout the year so make sure to stay up to date on those!
Overall, just a great central bluegrass Kentucky experience. Definitely a must-do if you’re here during Oct and April. Thank you Keeneland for your hospitality, we can’t wait to visit again.

One of my favorite places! I love dressing up and attending either the spring or the fall meet. Definitely a smaller, more intimate, and a more beautiful venue. I love how the horses are walked in the paddock before each race! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong with buying tickets for the dining rooms - absolutely no lines for betting or drinks. General admission tickets are fun too

My favorite & most beautiful horse tracks in the US. Everyone is so fun & happy during the spring & fall meets. Get to see some of the best thoroughbreds in the world, with the most beautiful scenery in the background. It’s a bucket list item for any horse racing aficionado.

We were here today for an employee tour only. The day was rainy, but it was so incredibly beautiful. I learned so much from Paul, our tour guide! He was knowledgeable obove and beyond mere Keeneland history. You could tell he was a lifelong lover of the sport!
One of the points he continuously reminded us of was the desire for Keeneland to remain historically beautiful and maintain a glorious green space. They have done that so well. It was a highly wducational experience and I enjoyed every minute!
Races begin next Friday and I would love to go back!!

The weather for the opening of the 2024 Spring Meet season was less than ideal for our trip to Keeneland, but it did not disappoint in any other way. Keeneland is a beautiful facility, that is impeccably clean with staff at every turn to help make your visit a memorable one. There is nothing like feeling the rumble of the horses in your chest as you stand next to the track for the final stretch. We are from Illinois and have traveled to Lexington many times as we visited three of our children who have lived there while attending the University of Kentucky. We have taken friends with us on our last two visits and they too have fallen in love with Keeneland.

One of the nicest race tracks around! Beautiful grounds, well-run, clean and wonderful staff! Prices are reasonable at the vendor stands and plenty of choices for food and drinks.
Must buy tickets in advance to ensure you get in; races were sold out when we visited. General admission is $15 and get there early to get a bench. Good idea to bring a bag chair; no backyard to sit, no coolers, no backpacks.
Great experience!!

I was advised to go before 10:00 a.m. so I could see the thoroughbreds work out. It worked, delightful to watch.
Then was able to see November Breeders auction. Beautiful horses brought on the stage and bid on--most bidding done within 90 seconds.
Grounds are beautiful and relaxing. No costs to walk the grounds.

This is a race track, but also seems much more. Pageantry when the races are going is interesting, diverse and elegant. The mood of the place is festive, somewhat relax for the uninterested aficionado and exciting. Food and drinks seem to be in abundance. Staff is helpful and gentle. The place cater to all members of the family. Facilities seem impeccable. Definitely a good activity to do, if in the area and especially during the main race seasons (spring and fall).
The Kentucky Horse Park is a sprawling 1,032-acre destination that showcases the historic relationship between humans and horses. It boasts the renowned Smithsonian International Museum of the Horse, which traces the evolution of horse breeding and their diverse roles in society throughout history. Visitors can explore various exhibits, including those dedicated to iconic horses like Man o War. The park also offers captivating equine presentations and horse-drawn tours.
Even if you don't know anything about horses this place is great. It's a beautiful facility with many things to see and do. Learning about the history of man and horse was very interesting. You will learn much more than just the history of race horse's but that was great too.

Interesting to see the horses and the barns. Good amount of walking to get to it all. We went in fall which just was beautiful . The different buildings to see the history of different things was cool to see and read about.
We watched some of the shows withthe horses and that was worth seeing so pay attention to the time. My granddaughter enjoyed going on a horseback ride which is an extra cost for that but she loved. Worth going to and experience it.

We stopped at the Saddlebred Museum first, which I would recommend. You can buy tickets there for the rest of the park, and it's less busy. The staff was all very friendly, some with golf carts offering to help shuttle people from barn to barn. We missed the meet and greets, but still met a police horse and a draft horse named Gus (we were told he's a fan favorite and understand why). I was excited that there was a restart on site, but the food could've been better. Overall, we had a great time, and our kids (all ages) had a great time, too.

First time here at the horse park. What a lovely day to visit such a lovely place. We enjoyed a carriage ride by the two draft horses as the lovely tour guide explained the park.
This place is amazing. This park is so large it would take a whole day to see it all. We enjoyed the museum. It showed the history of horses, the racing trophies and the Derby clothes that people wore throughout the years.
We took pictures with Funny Cide the 2003 derby winner. Thank you to the officer who introduced us to her horse.

Lovely place to walk and enjoy the many horse breeds that are represented there. It is a beautiful park with pony and horseback riding available. Wonderful place to visit if you are in the least interested in horses. I visited for BreyerFest, an event for model horse collectors like me. Visited with husband and another couple who are collectors. I will say that in July you will likely be subjected to some pretty miserably hot conditions for most of the park, but the visitor center & other buildings are well climate controlled, including the Alltech Arena where many large events take place. Visitor Center has nice gift shop with something for everyone, including cold drinks & snacks. It also has nice clean restrooms. Leashed dogs are welcome nearly everywhere in the park, but be aware of your pet’s needs for cooling down in the Summer. There are fun things for kids to do, such as pony rides, opportunities to pet animals and a playground. I plan to return in nicer weather to experience some things that I missed, such as the museum & trail rides. There is a large campground with water & electric and also primitive tent camping. We tried to stay there, but waited too long to book, so RV sites were full. Next time I will book far in advance & go in Fall or Spring!

So glad we decided to go here! We had a great day. The gentleman in the Champion Barn shared some of his knowledge and brought one of the horses out for us to see. I unfortunately called this place after hours right before the sun was completely down. I don’t think I got the traditional experience, however I did walk around the property. I got to see some of the Hall of Fame horses relatively close, got to see the stables up close where they held some of the horses and learn some history about the sport.
This property was massive and seemed to be very well-kept. I don’t know too much about it, but it was pretty fascinating and I would absolutely love to come back another time during the day and get more of the traditional experience.
If you’re looking for a unique experience I think this is definitely a good place to go if you’re not from Kentucky. It seems there’s a lot of local heart poured into this sport and facility.

We enjoyed our visit. There is a lot to see. It was neat going in the different barns and looking at all of the horses. The shows through our the day are a must see so you get a glimpse of the horses in action and learn a lot more. The museums are very detailed and informative. They have a ton of reading. Be prepared to walk. It takes a bit to get from A to B.
Overall we enjoyed our time and it was well worth the stop. Overall we did expect to see more horses. With name we expected every paddock to have a horse. Horses were only in barns and there were some empty stalls. It was a cooler day when we visited.

The trail riding area was HORRIFIC. Over 20 horses left in a tiny pen with tack on for hours at a time. They were sad, looked sickly, some were clearly lame and one especially was so under muscled that you could clearly see its spine. Then they put a saddle on it that was way too far up the neck. Tack was dirty, saddle pads were ripping to shreds, and tack was ill-fitting. They loaded up the beginner trail riders and sent them into this packed pen full of angry horses kicking and biting horses with riders on them. They also physically tied a draft horse foal to its mothers halter, both were freaking out and stressed, posing a huge risk for mom and foal. The staff we met here (so far) have no idea what they are doing. The landscaping was not kept nearly as well as other farms we visited. Very disappointed. The stables were almost completely empty at 3:30 even though they said they close at 5:00. Absolutely ridiculous.

We have been going here for Southern Lights for years. It has become a traditional between me and my brother. The lights are very good, but I do have to say there aren’t many new additions. It appears to be the same scenes over and over. The walk through the park is nice and they seem to offer new vendors and attractions along with some of the traditional events. The food and drinks in the cafe are pretty pricey. You kind of have to pick and choose what you want to spend on without paying an arm and leg.

My fiancé took me here for my first Southern Lights experience, and it was absolutely magical!
They had so many different displays, a lot of which were seemingly animated (had lights flashing on and off to depict movement)! My fiancé said it is usually very busy though, especially around Christmas time, so it may be wise to buy tickets in advance.
Once we got to the park, it was really cool! There was caramel corn, cotton candy, and a free petting zoo. We got to go around the park itself, and see where the horse races happen. We also went to their gift shop to purchase a classic Blue Monday Chocolate, and some souvenirs for some friends. I definitely recommend this place for a winter festivity!

Coming from out of town, I was only vaguely aware of the importance of horses to Kentucky and Lexington in general, but learned quite a bit about equines and their history.
The negative I think of this is there is A LOT of reading in the museums, to the point where it becomes very hard to pay attention and retain everything.
Seeing the old horses in person and talking with their caretakers was very interesting.
A good time overall!

Wow!! This place is amazing. I imagine in the spring and summer it's rather busy. We went in late fall early winter, and it wasn't very crowded, which made for an excellent visit. We got to learn all about horses, see amazing pieces, and even pet real winners. Check out this sculpture of secretariat, zoom in on it, and all the metal is horse related shapes!! It's such a wonderful place with amazing staff!

A beautiful place, full of equine history! We went here for the Liberty Festival but made time to drive around the grounds to see the beautiful views. You must stop in and take the tour of the museums and barns. Lastly, we visited the final resting place of the great Man O' War and War Admiral.
Alltech's Brewing & Distilling Co. can be found in central Lexington and specializes in bourbon-barrel ale, offering on-site tours & tastings. It's perfect for those a little tired of potent tipples of whiskey, with many Kentucky Kolsch and IPAs on the menu. The trademark brew is the flagship Kentucky Ale, which has a glowing amber hue and smooth finish.
We came here with some of our agents from our local real estate company The Agency. Our guide Boyd was wonderful, very knowledgeable, and he didn’t mind answering our broker’s many questions. We enjoyed our tour and were happy to learn more about the brewing and distillery process, plus of course we enjoyed the tastings!

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Good tour, beautiful buildings.

Had a wonderful experience here and ended up with a private tour. Our tour guide was GREAT! The tastings were fun and educational. The tour was full of information and our tour guide made it fun. I recommend doing a tour here and definitely buy a bottle of the coffee bourbon! It's absolutely amazing!

I came here on a private tour and had such a great time! Our tour guide, Boyd, was fantastic. He was both personable and knowledgeable, and didn’t mind answering my endless questions. We had so much fun that our whole group wanted to be his friend. The facility was beautiful, and I highly recommend the later tours for the gorgeous view of the sunset.

Beautiful facility, easy to find and the tour was an hour which felt like the right amount of time. Also an opportunity to taste their offers from the brewery and the distillery. Great little shop too! Definitely worth a stop in whether you’re bourbon lover or not.

Nice tour and tasting during our visit to Lexington. Great tour guide who explained all of the different distilling processes. Beautiful facility with lots of history and interesting architecture.

Great tour with amazing connection to Irish whiskey and specifically the Pierce Lyons Distillery in Dublin. The tasting is nice with options for those who prefer beer over bourbon and even have a very nice selection of gin. This is the place to buy Pierce Lyons in the US and the 12yr is especially good!

Stopping by for the only brewery/distillery on bourbon trail. Their flagship Kentucky bourbon ale is awesome. The townbranch single barrel never disappoints. This time we got to try their maple syrup cask beer and bourbon, it’s heavenly awesome. Currently is slow season, so getting in wouldn’t be a problem. Tour guide was fun and educational. The place is very clean and inviting.

We had a great a tour and tasting at Lexington Brewery and Distillery. Maria, our tour guide, was fantastic. The tour consisted of a tour of the brewery and then the option to taste beer followed by a tour of the distillery and then the option to taste bourbon. Everyone is given four tokens for tastings and it is up to you how you want to turn them them - either beer or bourbon. The tour group size was small and felt very personal. It isn’t a 21+ distillery only, but I would suggest if you don’t have too - then don’t. There was a small parking lot. Restrooms where available in the gift shop only.

Came in for the evening tour and tasting. Small group so very intimate and personal. Guide/bartender was great. Good selections to pick from (choice of 2) plus a cocktail and special sample. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stopped here while we were passing through town and I am so glad we did! We posted up at the bar and split one flight of beers and one flight of the harder stuff. Our bartender was incredibly friendly and attentive, and we all shared quite a few laughs. The beers were all delicious, and I especially recommend the vanilla and orange ones. I was very excited to try the rhubarb gin, but am sad to report that it didn't taste as wonderful as it looked.
I love that they drew from their Dublin location for the decor and ambience. It definitely kept this spot unique and I'll be back anytime I'm in Lexington!

The tour was so engaging and informative! This was my third distillery tour but I still learned something new. The inside of the building is beautiful! I definitely recommend taking a tour (especially since you get 4 tokens to use for samples!), but there's also a nice sitting area outside that anyone can use.

Loved this experience at a smaller distillery. Smaller and also better! Tour guide Steven was superb. Tastings of the brews and the spirits were informative and fun. Loved the unexpected Bluegrass Sundown tasting...bought a bottle AND the awesome glasses to serve it in. So great to have a bottle of the Town Branch True Cast Bourbon too!

Family came in from Seattle and of course a distillery tour was a must. I've been to some of the other distillerys in the past, but let me tell you we enjoyed this tour way more than the bigger places. Beer, Bourbon, and Gin.. so something for everyone. Our tour guide (Adam) was so fun, and engaging, we were laughing and smiling the whole time. I would highly recommend recommend making this a "must stop" for anyone visiting!!

Fantastic tour of a legendary brewery and a distillery with rich heritage. Tasting tour included four samples of any of their beers or spirits, including an incredible 12 year Irish whiskey.
Tour guide, John, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. The facilities were fascinating, especially how they actually explained the similarities and differences between spirits and beer.
A must see on the bourbon trail.

Great brewery and bourbon tour, Augustus was great and all the spirit’s had a wonderful blend of flavor. Bought the Bluegrass
Sundown!

There's definitely a clear difference in customer service at all the distilleries. I think the attentiveness of the gift shop personnel can be worked on. Steven was a great tour guide enthusiastic and a great brand ambassador. However, I wasn't prepared to see fruit flies in a lot of the bottles at the tasting. On the tour we were told the bluegrass sundown was a visitor center exclusive and only able to be purchased there. I was just in my local liquor store and I see the bottle.

Tom, our tour/tasting guide was incredibly knowledgeable and informative! Enjoyed every minute! We could tell he really enjoyed sharing his knowledge, and interacting with his guests. Being given the opportunity to sample their brewed products, in addition to their distilled products, puts a delightfully different spin on this tour. THANKS AGAIN TOM!!! Your tour was awesome! - Much Love from Birmingham, Alabama
The Mary Todd Lincoln House, a charming Georgian brick structure located on West Main Street, holds significant historical value as the childhood home of the First Lady of the United States from 1861-1865. Originally serving as a tavern for early settlers in Lexington, Kentucky, it later became the residence of Mary Todd Lincoln. Today, this protected historical site showcases its well-preserved interior rooms adorned with period furnishings and photographs. The museum offers tours and hosts various events to honor its rich heritage.
This is a piece of our country's history. It's so interesting to see the actual home with period furniture. I was glad to talk to the dedicated guides who shared so many facts about Mary Todd and her family. There is a nice little gift shop in back with lots of books for people interested in the Todd family history.

Definitely worth a visit. Only takes about an hour at most to do the tour. They have note cards in each room to tell you the significance of certain items in that room. There are also pieces furniture and other items that belong to Mary's Niece Katherine Helm. Small little gift shop on site, it was a little pricey or at least in my opinion it was, 6.99 for a small magnet was a bit much.

I have been to several history houses and this place could have done so much better. We made reservations in the morning. Once we got in there, I believe Elizabeth, gave us a quick introduction of the house. She was very knowledgeable but then she finished and told us we could walk through the house with the self-guided tour. It would have been so much nicer if she could have walked around and explained things. I also never understand why every "history house" will not let you on the 3rd floor. They always seem to be storage or office space. Office space for what? They had 3 people in the house that wouldn't answer questions. I was also surprised that they had converted many rooms into a gift shop or bathroom or office space. Many of those rooms could have contained more displays. I do realize they need to make money but give me an awesome tour and you will probably get a tip.

Visited this place during my trip to Lexington, KY. Definitely a must go. I put this place in my itinerary simply because I love history and vintage houses. So here you go, enjoy these pictures:)

Provided a good history of the Todd family. $15.00 for adults. History buffs will find it very educational and interesting. Not recommended for young children. Stairs to the second floor.

I enjoyed the tour. I think the guy I talked to was Jacob, he was very knowledgeable about the place. There was a couple of areas that were not the tour, like the attic, but there was a sign there to tell you about it. The back yard garden was pretty neat too.
And there is a gift shop around back as well. I got some t shirts for the kids and magnet for the fridge. I wish in retrospect I would have gotten an pair of the Abe Lincoln socks they sold.

Really neat to see one of our 1st ladies homes. We need more women in history spots like this in America! Very informative, great overview by the greeters, self guided at your own pace which I loved. Beautiful garden out back.

We loved our tour today with Durbin. I am seeing Mary Todd Lincoln for more than just the wife of Abraham Lincoln. Durbin was so knowledgeable and we appreciate him answering all our extra questions!!!

We spent an hour here on a self-guided tour, exploring the rooms and reading the information provided. This was an important place for me to visit, as I have been fascinated by Mary Todd Lincoln since I was little.
I found the information on her formative years interesting, as well as the more current view of the contribution that enslaved Americans made during that time period.
I realize that it was her childhood home, but wish there had been more information about her later years, which are so interesting.
The staff were kind and happy to answer any questions.

Not a big place. But it gives a very good picture of the life Mary Todd had. Do note - there is some parking around the back side of the house. The signs are easy to miss.

My wife and I are both history nuts, so we both really enjoyed our visit. I liked that their is a tour guide but you can also explore the house on your own, beautiful house, very historic.

Well, it cost $15 bucks per person, and i went with my wife, daughter, and son in law . it is a self guided tour. It wasn't that fascinating to tell the truth. it was jaw-dropping. History in that era wasn't the best, but I like history, so we went . But in my opinion it was not worth the money at all. Note the people running it were very knowledgeable and kind. the man working the second floor was so funny. I'm sorry I forgot your name if you are reading this.

Easy to go by because I was expecting a small house. Mary's father bought a tavern in a foreclosure sale, and it has five bedrooms.
Well, it was preserved with many original artifacts from the Todd family.
First home preserved to honor a First Lady in the US.

interesting to see this. alot of information about different things from the era included in the tour. gift shop in the back in case you want a souvenir.

This is the house Mary Todd lived in as a teenager. They have done a nice job of trying to recreate the space she lived in. While it is a self guided tour there was a docent on both floors to answer questions. Very pleasant stop while traveling.

Learned something new today about Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln. Great little piece of history to discover here. Kind of over kill on the attention given to slave labor though. I think we all know by now it was a part of our dirty past. Sad, but a fact of life then.

Nice visit to the Mary Todd Lincoln House. Good historical facts and artifacts about and from the time period. Place was restored starting in 1976 and has the intent of the time when the Todd family lived there. Gardens outside with bathrooms. It's self guided but has experts onsite to answer questions. Two floors of fun. I appreciate the factual tributes and mention of the enslaved persons' contributions throughout the home. It was 1800s Kentucky....

You have admission but your self guided tour is very informative and they do answer questions asked and we enjoyed the garden afterwards to relax in on the way out. Worth the money. Another part of Lincoln's life to learn.
