How long is the drive from Dumaguete City to Bacolod?
The direct drive from Dumaguete City to Bacolod is 137 mi (221 km), and should have a drive time of 2 hrs 48 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Dumaguete City to Bacolod, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like Dumaguete Divers and Lake Balanan, or the ever-popular Malatapay Livestock Market.
The top stops along the way from Dumaguete City to Bacolod (with short detours) are Oslob Whale Shark Watching, Kawasan Falls, and The Ruins. Other popular stops include Tumalog Falls, Rizal Boulevard, and Pescador Island.
Malatapay Livestock Market in Dumaguete offers a unique cultural experience where farmers gather to trade pigs, goats, cows, and water buffalo. In addition to livestock, the market also features fresh produce, second-hand clothing, handmade machetes, and freshly cooked lechon. Visitors can also arrange affordable snorkeling trips from the port and enjoy activities like auctions and access to fresh seafood and local produce.
For any tourists who want to do a day snorkeling, you don't have to buy 3000+ pesos tour from Dumaguete town. Just come to this port in the morning, there are so many people wants to share the boat with you. Go and back all together. If you one to stay overnight you can come back the day later or any day you want to pay 500 pesos extra on the return trip. Price sharing is already in my post. You can pay extra 300 per person to get a snorkeling guide and snorkeling equipment. The guide are extremely expert. I am a diver and I have seen so much,

We went there because it was recommended as a place to buy fresh fish and have a local restaurant grill it. Much cheaper and more adventurous. It must have been the hottest day on our trip. Just standing I was sweating bullets. Not as many fish stalls as I thought and the pedestrians had to fight for walking space amongst the large trucks passing by carrying poor bulls to their slaughter. It was ok. But I did enjoy the fish!!! Yum.

I am very amazed when I visit this place. The people are doing an auctions it is full of activities. You find also here fresh fish's, pork. Veggies. Fruits and many more and they are cheaps. It's also docking access if you go to Apo Island diving.
It is a small dive shop with a cafe. It has one of the cheapest price packages around with super friendly staff. They were willing to pick us up from our resort, provide us with breakfast, and take us to the boat that will bring us to the dive site. We did the 3 dive package which was decently priced at $100 per person including food, gear, transportation to and from the dive site, and our dive master (dive master to diver ratio 1:3). The dive master was very conscientious of our skill levels and did his best to keep everyone safe but also providing us with as best of an experience as possible.

My first trial dive since an unpleasant experience 30 odd yrs ago on the Australian barrier reef. The instructor Roy was the penultimate professional. Calm, measured and experienced.
Enjoyed a fantastic experience! Will be back again.

Took twelve people to Apo for a snorkel only trip to Apo Island. Excellent chicken and rice was served along with fresh fruit. Three people did not swim and they were given good life jackets and taught to snorkel in the shallows at beautiful Apo..

World class diving at Apo Island. When you go underwater you will see beautiful coral reefs in every direction. You can’t go wrong signing up with Dumaguete Divers. Simon, the manager of the shop, will personally reach out and work with you to customize your diving experience. Matthew is also there to make your experience a great one. Our dive master Zaldy was knowledgeable, helpful, and very entertaining. Huge shoutout to our boat captain Maloy for getting us to and from Apo safely. And if you’re hungry or want a cold one, they serve everything you need for food and drinks. An overall great experience!

Bodies of Water
A 62-acre lake surrounded by lush tropical forests, waterfalls & mountains.
Enchanting place. The last time we went here was about 18 years ago. It had way more visitors and was booming back then. Now, it has sort of become an abandoned place and needs a lot of renovation here and there after several typhoons went by. Still stunning, nevertheless. The road going there was also unpaved and very bumpy. I hope they fix some of these things.
JG Cell — Google review
Quite and peaceful place away from the city.

And we are back again here in Lake Balanan, the last time we came it was raining heavily and we did not manage to have a walk around but this time we went up to the tree house, the zip line station and to the waterfall, it is about 30 minutes walk from the other side across the water using the floating raft, there are some areas that the footpath had collapse just be careful and do this adventure with your own risk. Also wear a proper walking shoes as you will be walking across a drive river and along the river bank if going up to see the waterfall, it is best to visit the waterfall days after it rain to see more water flowing and also water will be crystal clear.
This place is an hour drive from Grandview only.
Highly recommended to all adventurous people.
Also you must try there fresh crayfish dish that can be order at the kitchen restaurant, We had some in our previous visit and it was so good I mean super good, very tasty with full of different kinds of spice. That was the best crayfish dish I tasted ❤️🇵🇭.

Very nice and stunning place. Be aware of the rocky, bumpy road to get there. I highly recommend having a SUV, with normal car you can stuck!

Balanan Lake was formed in 1925 when an earthquake with a 6.8 magnitude on the Richter scale caused massive landslides in both mountain ranges. The landslide created a natural dam right across the southern end of the Balanan River and the water rose to become a figure 8-shaped lake.
I have to rate it 3 star cause it needs some renovation and staff. The Government should promote this place cause its so enchanted and natural.

Worst road I have ever driven, do NOT go here with your own scooter. Loads of rocks that really damage your vehicle, goes on for many kilometers. Hitchhike or get a tricycle, unless you have a 4 x 4 or an off-road motorbike. The place itself is nice though, 50 pesos entrance fee, has a pool, nice trail around the lake, raft you can use and some waterfall in the end.
But Jesus Christ the road...

Place is far from dumaguete but it's all worth the trip. One of the best places to enjoy nature. We enjoyed swimming in the pools, boat riding and hiking to the waterfalls.
Rizal Boulevard is a picturesque seaside road in Dumaguete, Philippines, known for its historic landmarks and stunning ocean views. The quarter-mile pathway is adorned with old-fashioned street lamps and benches, making it an ideal spot for families on picnics or power walkers. The promenade also boasts a great selection of restaurants, bars, and food stalls nearby. While the food options can be limited and expensive, there are plenty of eateries across the street to choose from.
We enjoyed walking at night here, and we had street food too.
Sayaka Kondo — Google review
Nice boulevard of dumagette but is so dry now in summer the grass is dead and should look better with some greenery
xavier Miloud — Google review
Nice, breezy place with benches to sit on. Food is expensive and limited. Though there are restaurants across the street. Better eat there than spend as much on street food that does little to fill the stomach. Beautiful at night.
Cathy Sphere — Google review
A nice place for jogging or just walking while breathing fresh morning breeze as will as the evening breeze that gives a a relaxing feeling doing your morning exercise routine or anytime to unwind or sitting on the bench watching the sunrise and the sunset at its best. I also love watching the boat that passes by from time to time.
Desiree — Google review
This long stretch has wide walkways and stone benches with trees and ornamental plants. Numerous food shops, accommodation, offices, homes and schools concentrate the area. Anyone can free exercise, chill, eat and drink anytime of the day. At night 'Balut' kiosks use a portion of the boulevard for people to enjoy the delicate savory food. I can say it is a safe place to visit.

Shannen Angelique — Google review
Very nice place to walk in the morning or to chill under a tree during the day. In the night, the boulevard lits up and there are a few street food sellers as well as other activities.
Nice people, great moments to be had. That said, the sewage smell in some days ruins the experience and the coastline is very dirty, so that's something to keep in mind.

Will always be the most beautiful public place in the City of Gentle People, and the foremost reason why I love Dumaguete. Here you can even notice the progress of the sun rising up, while feeling the cool breeze of the morning air. The newest addition, the Pantawan, is so nice, spacious, and beautiful. Hopefully the entire strip going north to the port will be widened and expanded in the future.
Pol John Bartolome — Google review
This is a must when you are in town. There is a place for everyone whether you just want to sit or have a bit of fresh air while jogging

Clean and spacious. Nice place to just sit down and contemplate the meaning of life.
Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park is a picturesque forested area with two deep crater lakes, boasting magnificent volcanic landscapes. The journey to the top offers breathtaking views, but it gets noticeably cooler up there, so be sure to pack a jacket. Visitors must pay a small entrance fee at the gate to access this serene location. There is an on-site restaurant, albeit understaffed due to Covid restrictions and limited travel.
The place was so serene and beautiful. Combine with a relaxing boat ride with an exquisite sightseeing. Perfect getaway from the stresses of Manila and definitely never missed out when you're in Dumaguete.
Mervin Bryan Lising — Google review
This place feels like a hidden gem because it was quiet when we went. I'd advise to bring a jacket with you or something warm because it can get a little cold in this mountainous area. Beautiful drive to get there and a good place to walk around also
Amanda — Google review
Be prepared! It's a steep climb going down to the canoe station and back up to the entrance to the reserve. Great workout! Instead of going to the usual observation tower, we went to see a small waterfall. It was worth the 10 minute additional trek going and coming. They also have a small cafeteria there too. We ordered turon, mountain coffee, shrimp balls and fresh coconuts. The best were the coconuts. It's not really a foodie place, more like a stopping point to get something to drink or rest. They had some native chicken on offer but we didn't try them out.
Angie Harper — Google review
Nice tree-lined zig-zag cemented mountain road motorcycle ride to Twin Lakes. Enjoyed a breakfast of brewed coffee (Mabinay beans), native chicken adobo and pako salad in a fantastic backdrop of lake, mountains with a symphony of bird tunes.
Martin Misa — Google review
Great natural place in the mountains. The drive in a scooter/motorcycle is nearly the best part. A 13km scenic route driving bending roads with postcard views over the bay and mountains.
The entrance fee for 2 people including motorcycle parking was 170php (oct.22)
There is a restaurant there where they have food and coffee. The prices are very good and not blown up.
By the lake you can rent a boat with a boats man for 250php for 1 hours sailing, for up to 4 people.
A great trip, but be aware it is very steep walking down to the lakes and can be slippery. Where good hiking shoes.
Christian Hunter — Google review
Really beautiful park! Chances upon many types of spiders and grasshoppers. Not too many birds when we were there. Kayak rental was also suspended for unknown reasons.
Recommended to check out the really underrated Kabalin-an pond right next to the ticket office especially in the evening (4pm) when the weather cools and the fog sets it. Really ethereal and presented a more breathtaking view than the twin lakes combined.
Motorbike ride up and down the reserve is now 500php per pax.
D Lo — Google review
The most peaceful place I have found in the Philippines so far. Although not easy to spot, there were many different birds singing their songs. We spotted 2 eagles flying high above as well. The rock steps are a bit slippery, so watch your step. The road going there is in reasonably good condition. It’s quite steep in a few places and there are a lot of curves, making it a fun ride. You do have to pay a fee to enter, and an additional fee for the boat ride. I believe the fee for park entry was php 100 and the boat was php 300. Take some time to just chill and enjoy the tranquility.
J Hunt — Google review
Very scenic. The drive up there is also very scenic. The weather up there at the top is much cooler so take a jacket. There is a modest entrance fee paid at the entry gate. The restaurant up there is not well staffed. I think there was only one lady up there who took our order then also prepared the food. They food was reasonably good however they had a number of things that were unavailable on the menu. Must be a side effect of covid restrictions and lack of customer travel up there.
Rob&Rose TogetherForever — Google review
Its a must place to visit. 100% worth it the 13KM trip to the park. its serene and majestic. I will give it a 5 if they keep the restaurant & toilets clean and maintain.

I wasn’t originally planning on visiting the park, but i’m glad I did. Take a ride on the boats in the lake, very peaceful.
Lucas Gregorich — Google review
No swimming, just take pictures, nothing to do really.
But the lakes are peaceful, if you want to feel nature and serenity then try it. Boat ride is expenseive
geh dee — Google review
We took the trail instead of taking the boat, but it’s not very well maintained and pretty slippery so be careful.
A group of idiots were shouting to each other from across the lake, and the guides weren’t telling them to be quiet. Some people don’t know how to behave at a natural reserve.
Maybe that’s why we didn’t see a single bird except the common sparrows.
Patrick Dussault — Google review
Pretty cool place to visit however be careful when it’s wet. The roads are incredibly steep and going up and down on motorbike was unbelievably scary even for our driver. If possible, take a car. Tricycles will not even attempt going up to the lakes. Also beware of the motorbikes at the bottom offering to take you up. They charge extortionate prices. Try and organise one before. We paid 700php both ways and also paid for the entry fee to the lakes. Once you get to the lakes there is a small walk to visit both lakes. If it’s raining the path is extremely slippery however well worth the walk!
Sarah P — Google review
Perfect half day trip. To fly a drone is prohibited in the whole area around the lakes. In the entrance area is a restaurant with fair prices and a good choice of different local food. The boat trip to the hidden falls is a must for nature lovers
Phil — Google review
Nice place, enjoyable, peaceful and quiet. Lakes were a little murky and not as clear as I had thought. Steep narrow roads getting up to the national park, exercise caution.
Pete P — Google review
Went early to have some hot chocolate and breakfast while we watched the fog go down the mountains. The boat ride to the watchtower showing both lakes was definitely worth it! There were some trekking involved but nothing too great. The whole place had trails you can go around to see the birds and other wildlife. We saw an eagle flying in the distance it was a very humbling experience. Giving 4 stars only since mom insisted there should be more activities to be done but I myself reassured her that this is a nature reserve and the point is to keep its purity.
If you want a calm retreat to have some time to think for yourself, or if you want some sort of adventure to hike around the reserve and look for birds, this is definitely a spot for you to experience!
Visited AJ's Place twice and can definitely say that this is the best place to stay if you are planning a trip to Oslob. The amenities are high-end and the service is great. They also have the most comfortable bed. They personalize your experience and even suggest other nearby places to explore. Will definitely come back to this place with my in-laws in the future.
P.S.
Thanks for the wonderful stay, AJ's staffs!

I’m so impressed with staff trying to make things the best. Hot humid climate and no fridge to keep cold drinks. The staff said they would keep cold drinks in reception fridge. So I need to walk up and down the stairs and walk to the reception to get a drink. Every place has a mini fridge except AJ’s. You have to walk next door to go dive with whale sharks so just stay there. This is way overpriced at 4000 pesos.

Perfect location for whale shark swimming and monkey habitat. The accomodations were extremely nice

Wish they’d be more compassionate to the local animals. There’s a poor old dog that is emaciated and has a broken leg on the property. I had to go to the next door restaurant to order food and feed it. It’s a shame that even a table scrap can’t be spared for an animal in obvious need.

Tourist trap, do not stay here!
We booked on Agoda where the payment was held, however when we arrived they insisted that we pay in cash. They did not have a card machine for payments so we ended up paying an extra 5% on PayPal (initially they made us pay the 5% by cash).
They also charged us a 1,000 pesos for a 20min drive to Oslob centre (our 2hr drive from Moalboal was 2,300 for comparison).
Although the rooms were nice, the staff’s unwillingness to help made the stay super unpleasant.
Natalie Yip — Google review
Beautiful little resort in a perfect location in Oslob for the whale shark experience.
The only resort in that stretch that had its own beach which was lovely.
A simple breakfast was also supplied and the staff were very welcoming and super friendly with great English.

5 stars for facilities, 1 more star for terrible staff training and management.
Be prepared for communication issues, operational hassles, and overpriced services during your stay:)
Ann Liao — Google review
Fantastic resort. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. The staff had our nine bags in our room before we made it to the front desk. The owner walked us to the nearest restaurant and made us feel so welcome. The staff got up at 4:30 to get a reservation for whale sharks and helped us get onto a boat right away. We saw six whale sharks that swam by one after another - so wonderful.
Michael Hunt — Google review
Beautiful place with helpful staff. We arrived early in the morning around 7 am for the whale shark, managed to put our bags in the resort first. They gave us a locker to put our stuffs in and settle down while they managed our whale shark ticket. Good facilities around including showers and changing rooms.
Great hospitality
Oslob Whale Shark Watching is a popular tourist attraction in South Cebu, offering the opportunity to swim with these gentle giants. Located in Oslob, it is quite a distance from Moalboal. Despite some controversy surrounding the activity, there are various tours available for visitors to enjoy the company of these fascinating creatures. The experience typically lasts around 30 minutes and allows participants to swim alongside the whale sharks as they are being fed.
One of most amazing experiences and were so bliss to swim together with the whale shark that wasn’t crowded.
We arrived 7:30am Monday, only few tourist were there and was greeted by the friendly staff.
J-AR DIO LIN — Google review
So amazing to see these beautiful sharks up close. When we arrived the place looked really busy but it ended up being very organized. Each group had their own canoe(s). They will supply you with life jackets but you are not required to wear them if you can swim. Our group was all scuba divers so we brought our fins masks and snorkels and had a fantastic time being able to swim freely with the sharks. If you don't swim or simply don't want to get into the water, you can observe from your canoe. I highly recommend if you plan to be visiting Cebu or any nearby island.
You can also scuba dive with the whale sharks. We went on our off day from diving - the day before we left the Philippines - so we snorkeled.
Michelle H — Google review
A must do activity for local and foreign tourists. The whalesharks are breathtaking, and the locals who take care of these creatures are more amazing. The experience will absolutely be pleasant as you go down memory lane.
There is an orientation before setting out to the sea to make sure that no mishap happens. It's very important for the safety of both tourists and whale sharks, so make sure to pay attention.
You'd have to set out wearing a life jacket, but since it will keep you floating, it's hard to take a photo under the sea. You can remove the life jacket, especially if you're good at swimming, while it may take a lot of courage for those who do not know how to swim.
Additionally, do not put on a sunblock, they will order you to rinse to get rid of it. Apparently, the chemicals contained in the sunblock are harmful to whale sharks.
Crystallene Grace Ragot — Google review
We only stayed overnight in Oslob and this worked out as we were picked up from our hotel at 4am for the first boat out at 6am. We waited an hour and a half but the waiting area was okay and they do safety briefing prior to heading out. Interesting experience, half an hour with the whales that will go by very fast.
Janette P — Google review
Great experience. There are several whale sharks that you can swim with. Recommend it. Donna and Crislade were the best tour guides.
A few tips: Don´t bring anything on the boat as the bottom is full of water. Also, rent a Go Pro from the tour agency for the best content. The boat men are top photographers and will take the best photos and videos.
Also, keep in mind that Oslob is far from Cebu city. It took me 3 hours to go but 6h to come back due to the heavy traffic. However, the experience is 100% worth it.
Petar Chomakov — Google review
I'm visiting this place for the first time and was surprised to see so many people early in the morning. I joined a snorkeling tour to see the whale shark, but unfortunately, it was too crowded to fully enjoy the experience. Additionally, the whale shark was not as huge as I had expected; it was quite small. However, the price of the tour was very reasonable and a great bargain.

I reached there at 5:10am and found that many people were waiting in queue already. It took 1hour for waiting time (registration and payment for 500p). The waterman are so skillful and helping me to take videos and photos with Whale Sharks. Really enjoyed seeing a lot of Whale sharks so close.

Stayed overnight in Oslob. A local resident said that the lines would start before 5:00 am. Swimming with these gentle giants is an opportunity you shouldn't miss. Give the whale sharks some space, make sure you take some photos or better yet use a water-proof camera. You can rent a GoPro at the spot. Worth doing again.

One of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had. Didn’t know what to expect but it was even better than I could have hoped. Up close and personal with these amazing creatures. The staff in the boat could not have been any more helpful. They made sure we knew where the sharks were and when to dive. They used my GoPro and got the most amazing pictures and videos. If you get the chance to experience this you really need to go for it. Go early!!

The whale sharks are well worth seeing, Very cool experience. There are lots of people every day and check in is kind of disorganized. We got there at 4am, waited in line to get a number. That only took maybe 30 minutes, but then told to come back around 7:30am. We went and had a few coffees and returned about 7am. Sat through the orientation and finally got on the boat around 8am. You'll spend about a 45 minutes in the water, and it's amazing. They have small boats throwing chum to bring the sharks right beside you. I would have to say the only downside is the wait to get going. With the driving to and from Oslob from where we stayed it was easily an 8 hour day.
Brian Johnson — Google review
You have to wait 2-3hours to your turn. Somebody have to come around 3-4am to be the first people go swimming with whale sharks. This is the 3rd I come here, 2 times ago I don’t have to wait so long like this ( the tourist I think is same with last time I visited). But anw this is a amazing experience you must try

This was one of the most amazing experiences I had, ever!
We were a group of 11 going from Cebu city to swim with whale sharks in Oslob, followed by canyoneering in Kawasan falls, all booked with Highland Adventure Tours Cebu (highly recommended!!! You can see the rest of the review there)
The whale shark swim was spectacular, we were right next to them as they were being fed. The experience lasted a good 30min, that might seam short, but was just right, half our group was already back to boat pretty tired.
We had breakfast there, which I would recommend on skipping, just grab a coffee and sandwich to go, to save time, but get there all the souvenirs you want, they are super affordable.
The organization seamed pretty good, starting with a safety briefing, the gearing up. Included on the price is the lifejacket, goggles/mask and short boat ride to where the whales are being fed. Once you are ready to get in the water, you can remove the lifejacket (if you are a good swimmer) to allow you to dive with the whale. Snorkel is not included (due to covid most likely), which makes the whole experience a bit more tireing than it would be if you had one.
ana minuzzi — Google review
A lot of people talk about the zoo like feel of this experience but these are free roaming giant creatures who go where they want. The folks there have just created an environment where the whales want to stay. The experience of swimming next to these general giants was amazing and humbling. I predicted there might be few small whale sharks here to watch but was utterly taken aback when several of the whale sharks were nearing 30 ft long. Breathtaking. The zoo on shore was worth the time and wait. I recommend going on a weekday as the lines and waits seem slightly shorter.

The Oslob whale shark experience in Cebu City provides a captivating chance to swim alongside these magnificent creatures. (And yes it was really an awesome experience!!!)
The presence of knowledgeable guides and staff enhances the experience, ensuring safety and offering valuable insights.
However, it's crucial to be mindful of the concerns surrounding environmental impact and overcrowding. Visitors must approach the encounter with respect, keeping in mind the well-being of the whale sharks 💖
Xeng — Google review
Let's talk whale sharks. They're over 6 meters of something that looks between a shark and a catfish. The rules are simple. Stay 4 meters away from them. No touching but they can touch you. Basically strip club rules, only fishy. However, they come much close to you and you realize that mouth can suck down gallons of water along with you. Yeah, they're that big.
Getting to where you swim with them is an exercise of controlled chaos as there are as many locals as there are foreigners.
Before this review gets blasted by Peta or some other animal rights groups, I feel that the whale sharks are properly respected because the cattle prods have less voltage. Just kidding. There is no netting and the whale sharks are there in the morning only then swim away in the afternoon. The staff keep a very close eye on the swimmers, making sure the fish aren't molested in any way.
The experience itself is for 30 minutes and costs 500 pesos, which as of this date, is less than US$9. Absolutely worth it.

Wow, that was seriously the most epic experience of my life! I mean, I've never laid eyes on anything like those enormous and graceful whale sharks. I had an absolute blast getting up close and personal. Huge thanks to everyone involved – you guys rock! 🐋🦈😄

I recently visited Oslob Whale Shark in the Philippines and had a fantastic experience. The staff on the island were incredibly kind and fluent in English, which made communication easy. My husband and I had the unforgettable experience of scuba diving with the whale sharks. Additionally, we rented a GoPro, which allowed us to capture beautiful images and videos of our adventure. The organization was top-notch, although the popularity of the place was apparent due to the large crowds and long wait times.
A highlight was the affordability of the experience. The price for normal watching from the boats, where you can snorkel or swim with the whale sharks, is very reasonable. This accessibility adds great value to the experience, making it a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts. However, be prepared for a busy environment due to its touristic nature.

We arrived at 525am on a Wednesday and there was already a lot of people there. We stayed in Oslob the night before and rode of scooter to the area. We did not pay for parking, I do not know if that is normal or not. We were group #93. We did not get onto the boat until 0752. So I suggest getting there no later than 0530 and know you will wait a long time!
We paid 500P each for “whale shark snorkeling/watching”. This does not include transportation cost to the area. This consisted of waiting until our number was called then getting on a small boat with 8-10 other random people. The guides paddled out into the open water where there were 10+ other boats of tourists and a few boats of workers chumming for the whale sharks, this makes the sharks stick around, guaranteeing your chances to swim with whale sharks. You are supplied with goggles and no snorkeling breaking piece, there are plenty of places to rent from if you want a breathing piece.
The actual act of swimming with the whale sharks was so amazing and I had a blast! I would definitely do it again, although I do not think I would go here again. It is cheap but it is very touristy, busy, a lot of people in the water swimming with you. Also, it did feel unethical to me the way they were chumming for the sharks.

Nice place to come and enjoy watching whale sharks. Better to come early as the crowd will grow with time. Reached at 4 in the early morning and still the token said 25. The people are friendly and experienced for you to enjoy the experience. Sunrise is beautiful.

It is huge touristic factory. We woke up about 3:00 and it was already hundreds of people in line. I understand people find this business not ethically moral. However decided for that so cannot after everything be negative speaking. I knew more or less what is expecting me. Whale sharks were amazing beautiful and we have seen also turtle between them. I just hope those animals are not being hurt by people, boats or anybody and they feed them with something healthy.

Although I was fortunate to be in close proximity with the whale sharks, it was not worth the time, money and effort to come to this place. Pickup time by the tour was at 3am, which basically means I had to forego my sleep. The queuing process took a total of 3 hours (5am to 8am) before my number was called to view the shark. Overall, this activity only applies to people who are willing to sacrifice their sleep and are patient enough to wait for their turn to watch the shark.
Blake Seal — Google review
You are rowed out a short distance offshore where whale sharks gather to be fed, you can snorkel alongside these huge creatures so you can claim "I swam with the whale sharks" and rent an underwater GoPro so you can do the FB posts. To protect the sharks no sunblock is allowed and touching is prohibited.
Many environmental groups will point out it's generally unwise to feed any wild animals yet this is a vital source of income for the people of Cebu province. We spoke with some locals, their kids have three shifts a day up until midnight at the elementary school as the government can't afford new buildings or teachers, so this seems to me to be a harmless way to get some tourist dollars for their essential needs.

We arrived 4AM and the line was already long even on a weekday. Registration is one line then you wait for your number to pay for the fees (P500/person for a joiner tour). Frankly, they just buy a manual ticket machine with payment options and/or an online registration for convenience of tourists and efficiency of the process. The ones in charge will not issue the ticket unless all tourists are at the site. Separate fees apply to rent underwater gear and cameras.
Orientation was around 5:30 on DOs and DON'Ts during the 30-minute experience. We got on a boat at around 6:45AM. You will not miss the chance of seeing or swimming with the sharks since they are in the feeding area. They are very gentle creatures and seem to be accustomed to seeing people swim with them.
TIP: Go on a weekday and be there as early as 3AM. Book a place close by so that you can still go back and rest a bit after you secure your number. Releasing of number do not start until around 5AM

Really busy. Lots people queuing from early. Our guide took us at 8am and we saw the whale sharks in the water about 10. Finishes at 11am. Still pretty hectic with 300 people on 30 boats when we were there on a Sunday. So no need to go super early if you don’t like early morning like us.
Rod Gray — Google review
Pure chaos. Regret going, part of a tour my friends booked and I had talked myself into thinking they were at least being good stewards of the whale sharks. I was completely wrong, they bait them in and then continue feeding them and luring them straight into crowds of people. Don’t I struck anyone to stay away. People were jumping right next to them and I’m sure on them, witness people touching them.
Even that aside, it’s a terrible experience. You wait forever and ever, then when your number comes up you wait on the beach for 30 minutes to load up with 10-12 strangers and then head out into a little area they have chummed the adolescent whale sharks into.
Whale sharks are all majestic, but these are quite small little adolescent’s still so they’re not very big yet.
With that said, how traumatizing it must be for them to experience this after being groomed to rely on it for food as they grow.
It’s a horrible thing that has begun, but since it has why not be good stewards at least? Pretty unbelievable how poorly this is run honestly.
Regret going, and do not recommend.

A very crowded venue, I've been here two times.its getting better.if you have a private driver he will get you registered and on the boat right away .both times the water was cloudy .but still had a great time .

What a great experience, whale sharks are so huge, and you just drift near them as a little leaf. That was a very special day, and the staff really helped us to see sharks after a long bus ride, cause the bus was running late, and we got there almost at closing. So staff made one last boat just for us from that bus, and we all really enjoyed this swim with those gentle giants. One of them hit me with a tail, so maybe not very gentle 😄
Actual price was 500+150 pesos. And another 200 you can get fins and for another 500 - an action camera.
Tumalog Falls is a picturesque tourist spot nestled in the midst of jungle surroundings. This popular destination boasts crystal clear waters and a pool perfect for wading. Visitors are treated to breathtaking views of mother nature's majesty upon traversing a steep road. However, caution is advised as the water level may sometimes be low or replaced with mud, which can be verified by consulting locals beforehand.
Beautiful waterfall! But you have to ask some local about the water level before you go there... Sometimes there's no water, only mud...
Highly recommended place!! :)

A beautiful waterfall with a great swimming hole. Lots of people around, but the place didn’t feel crowded. A short walk down (and up) from the road, with motorcycles to ferry you if you don’t feel like walking 15 mins each way. There is a pool with fish that nibble your toes when you dip them in the water.

Nice waterfall and not crowded. Water is very clear. Get your feet in and have little fishes clear them off dead skin.
The walk up the hill is a bit of a climb, but it's definitely worth it.

Nice waterfall lagoon with huge green wall. You can swim here too. Entry fee is 50 pp. From entrance you can take a walk or motorcycle ride. It's quite steep but fairly easy and short to walk.
A lot of visitors (we were here on weekend around 9:30)

Tumalog Waterfalls is very beautiful but I recommend that you go there as early as 6 or 7 in the morning. It gets too crowded by 8 to 9am. The entrance is P50 per person. There's about a kilometre walk down the steep and windy road. Or you can take the motorbike for P50 back and forth. I did both: walked on the way down and took a motorbike for P30 on the way back.
Lorene Sian — Google review
Incredible views! Definitely worth to spend a few minutes here. The water is pretty cold, and is not a hike to get to as compared to other waterfalls I’ve been to. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday morning, so for better (less crowded) photos, I suggest going earlier/on a weekday. You can swim or get your dead skin nibbled on by the fish on the lower bank.
You have to ride a motorbike to get there, which is only about 2 mins. Once there, the staff are pretty friendly, and the place itself is very clean.

Tumalog Falls is undeniably pretty, but my experience left me with mixed feelings. The falls are beautifully crafted for tourism, but the overwhelming tourist infrastructure takes away from the natural charm. The site seems more designed for mass tourism rather than preserving the uniqueness of the falls. While it's worth a visit for the picturesque scenery, if you're seeking a more authentic and less commercialized waterfall experience, you might want to explore less tourist-centric options in the area.

Nice falls. You got to challenge yourself walking on a steep road to get to the majestic view mother nature offered and another challenge walking back. You can take a local ride back and forth - for a price.

Pay 50 pesos to enter. The walk to the waterfall is really steep downhill, though paved. Get ready for an exercise getting back to the parking lot from the waterfall.
Such a beautiful waterfall! I was told that the government had closed the area but it was open on the day of our visit after the whale-shark-watching. The fresh water was unexpectedly colder that I had expected. It was refreshing to have a dip in there. Give it a try!
There were people who offered to take pictures and videos of us. They know what they are doing. Let them help you and give them a small tip!

Great place to see... easy access nice new roads, and they scooter you down an back up for 100p, well worth it...
Bring your water shoes if you plan on getting in the water because there are small rocks that can hurt your feet, also bring a camera, Hero, Go pro, that can handle water b/c the spray from the falls are intense if your up close. The water was lil chilly but you get use to it and not more then a meter deep. over all great experience with easy access.

Second time going here, just as beautiful as the first! This time though, they had staff available to take photos and videos near the falls! They don't ask for a set amount of money to do so, only what you feel comfortable giving. They do a great job though! Man's made my video look like it was filmed in slow motion with a drone using only his hands!

Good place for timeless photography and videography. Nice clean water with sand in some places. Drones aren't allowed due to work performed by locals called "human drone". 50peso for motorbike one way up or down the trail. There's also a free fish pedicure pool at the base of the waterfall.

Tumalog Waterfall is like nature's own water show – seriously, it's a jaw-dropper! The way those falls dive down into the pool is like magic. Plus, the whole place is so green and chill, it's like a secret paradise. If you're into good vibes and stunning scenery, Tumalog is the spot!

Amazing waterfalls. I came here because this location was a part of the itinerary of an organized trip. From the entrance you can walk to the falls, which I do not recommend if you are short on time or you have knee pain because the road is very steep. The other way to get there is by motorbike. It is fun, very fast and helps the local economy.
The place is magical, not too crowded during my visits. Water is a bit cold and there are some rocks on the bottom but it was a great experience.

The trip to Tumalog Falls was added quickly to the plan after realizing that this is only a few minutes away from the Whale Shark watching area. Effort was not wasted after the uphill/downhill drive, twist and turns plus the short motorcycle ride downhill to the spot. If you don't like riding the motorcycle, you can take a short downhill hike. Check if you have your camera and swim wear if you want to take a dip at the cold and refreshing pool right at the foot of the waterfalls. Go and experience the adventure yourself.

Went here on our 3rd day tour trip at Cebu. Upon entrance, you will be welcomed by their staff with motorcycle to assist you onto the main entrance of the falls. Take caution of the very steep road ahead. Service fee costs Php 50.00 and the entrance fee also Php 50.00.
There were plenty visitors during our visit. The place is clean and well maintained. Staff are very approachable to our inquires and are hospitable, too.

Quite beautiful waterfall but also very very touristic. You should definitely walk downwards from the entrance to the waterfall (5-10min) and maybe take the moto for the way up.
People form very politely lanes to take pictures from the good spots. It's probably nearly impossible to get a picture alone in the water, but Googles/Android magic eraser tool can make the magic happen ;-)
We were there just 20min, didn't see any reason to stay longer.
Aguinid Falls in Samboan Municipality, South Cebu, offers an exhilarating mini-canyoneering experience with its multi-tiered waterfall. The trek to the falls involves wading through refreshing blue waters surrounded by lush canyon walls. The limestone formations make the trek safe and manageable. Visitors can also explore the seven levels of Aguinid Falls with a guide, spending 1-2 hours on this activity.
For me this is the new canyoneering in Cebu South. But the fees is not that reasonable. for Php 300/head you will get a canyoneering gear set and a guide.
During our visit we got an issue with one of our guides. She is not that good in entertaining guest, not welcoming at all and doesn't answer some of our questions.
5 star just for the place it self but for overall experience I will rate it as 3 stars

Fee for entry with the safety gears including helmet, life vest and nonslip shoe, and a vehicle pick up when you are done with it is 350peso. Mandatory to take 2 guides with optional tips. Very nice and organised and really nice. Only felt a little rush and well, could t take a nap listening to the waters. Must go!

It was an A+mazing experience! There were not so many people when we visited. When we reached the 2nd level, we had the falls to ourselves. It's beginner friendly(not slippery at all) and our guides were very helpful. Please remember to tip generously. The gears (life vest, water shoes and helmet) are required and are included in the P300 fee. I recommend bringing your own water shoes if you have one as they sometimes do not have your size. Overall, I think Aguinid waterfalls are underrated and are really worth a visit.

If you're looking for an adventure, this place is for you. It does not look challenging but wait til you reach the highest level. If you extra cash, please give a tip to your guides. They only get a small portion of what you're paying at the entrance. Support local!!

The two stars are for the waterfalls. They are breathtakingly beautiful and there are opportunities to also stand underneath the smaller ones or enjoy a swim.
But it’s a quick tour. You could spend more than an hour but tour guides are kind of pushy to continue. They make sure you are safe but that is it. It felt like we were disturbing their lunch break and they didn’t want to show us around(but guides are mandatory)
The entrance fee was 350p (including guide?!!) but then once the tour is finished the guides start begging for a tip saying they don’t get any wages as a tour guide
After paying a tip (we did 150p per guide, is it too much?) believing the sad story in that moment (later realizing nope it was a lie) you will finally have to pay another 50p for parking
They see a tourist and are happy to see a cash cow, would’ve been nice to be at least treated like a guest and not an annoyance

The Aguinid Falls experience is superb! I have tried it twice already, but this time I have to make a review due to the experience.
First, the fee is cheap. For 300 pesos, you get a 1:1 guide. The place is very accessible from the highway.
Second, parking and cottages have a fee.
Third, please do not order any food. A shake is 185 pesos. What the hell? The food is too much—700 pesos per course. It was huge, but what the hell? It is overpriced, but I get it. It was fresh fish, and they have to get it from the market. Just do not order and find another place, perhaps.

Overall not special waterfall, and experience/tour even worse!
It all started when we arrived that a lady warned us to leave valuables in the scooter because of thieves.
Then we went to the ticket office and ticket was 350 p.P (actually it is a lot of environmental fees).Quite expensive if you consider the guides are not included and they expect tips afterwards!
Then because it is dry season the first 3 levels of the waterfalls were closed (but no discount on overall entrance fee), but we just got informed when we already started the tour!
Then there was a high jump (12m) and the guides said it is deep enough to jump. I touched the ground and my girlfriend even got injured because the water was too low.
The guides just said she did not jump where they told her to!
Whole experience is about 1h but we also waited for other groups because it was quite busy on public holiday!
Maybe better experience in rain season!

Aguinid Falls is another epic multi-leveled waterfall located in the Samboan Municipality in South Cebu. Here, you’ll find five levels of flowing waterfalls, each with the opportunity for swimming and jump into the crystal-blue Cebu jungle water.
Went for a quick visit here and it was truly the highlight of our Day! There is an Entrance Fee of Php 300 per Persons (inclusive of Entrance Fee, Environmental Fees, Guide Fees and Safety Gears (shoes and helmet) and I think it was worth the price. The falls was until 8th Level and I can say each level was a true combination of adventure and beauty. Our Guides (Kuya Mark and Ate Cora) were very friendly and supportive.
It's not as touristy as other waterfalls for sure but for an introverted office worker like me, the Aguinid Falls course is just right. I loved being among the quiet lush greenery. I'm always in the city so to see greenery instead of buildings and cars was very refreshing.
Aguinid Falls is unique because it is not a single waterfall. Rather it is a system of waterfalls that runs for a couple of kilometers along Tangbo River. Since it was promoted as an eco-tourism destination, locals and foreigners have witnessed this one-of-a-kind, multi-tiered waterfall system.
We didn't expect to be climbed that way, we took 2 very nice guides with us.
The rocks we climbed some are very slippery (especially the black rocks) need to pay attention and be careful.
I would recommend taking a guide as there is a guy they tie a rope with and need to climb with him.
The climb itself was amazing and the water there is very pleasant.
Lack of parking space. The trash bins are minimal. Toilets and shower rooms are dirty and not hygienic.

Entrance i think it was 20pesos each. Amazing water, but the beach like almost all of them its a trend with dogs making poopoo on sand, plastics on sand and water, people still not understand the real extension of the plastic and animals problem in the philipines and there is no recycling. Often turists ask each other about beach conditions and the cleaniness its the best factor.

Recently visited this sort of private beach since, it incurs a fee to use the facilities. Quite a wide beach area although not much beach leading to the sea. I have no idea about the tide but, at 11 am and, 5pm tide was the same. Plenty locals taking advantage of the beach. Recommend that parental guidance for children because, the depth of sea advances fairly quickly. At about 15 to 20 metres the sea depth is about 1.2 metres ( 4 feet) deep. The safe swimming area is marked by a series' of bouys probably 50 metres out. Should imagine the sea at that point too deep for novice and, not strong swimmers. Overall a lovely beach but, adhere to my warning. There is no lifeguards just be careful and, have a nice time.
There are facilities for a table, and chairs should you like to have a picnic 🧺. That's what the locals do. Once again, there is a charge but, probably worth it because, they will clear away any rubbish. There are a few sari sari stores on the beach as well as local vendors selling a variety of local good's. There is some parking close to the beach area . Off road parking. Never saw much in the way of restaurants , so take some food and, drinks with you. Have fun 😀

Plus, you can bring your own foods and drinks without a corkage fee. They also have cottages for 300-500 rental/ day. Just avoid the weekends though as it is really the go to place for Cebuanos who are looking for a cheap escape for a first class white sand beach experience.

Went there during a weekday and I had the beach all to myself. Although quite popular during weekends, it's actually a very small strip of beach just beside the national highway. It has a white sandy shore but built area is kind of disappointing. The beach is clean though but I would prefer a more natural beach area unlike this one which has lots of structures so close to the shore. I had to cross the road looking for a place to take a bath as there was no fresh water shower available (shortage of water).

Bais Dolphin Watching and Manjuyod Sandbar Tours offer a delightful experience for travelers. The sandbar, located in Bais but accessible from Dumaguete, is a paradise with fine sands and shallow waters during low tide. Visitors can enjoy water sports activities like banana boat rides while taking in the sea breeze. The area also offers dolphin watching tours, providing an opportunity to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Amazing place to watch dolphins , 3700 peso boat rent , 7 am-8 am mostly right time to explore .

SCAM! They charged us a sandbar + dolphin watching package even though there was no dolphin watching that day due to strong currents. We only learned about this upon arriving at the sandbar. I should’ve gotten suspicious when I saw the boats from afar which were all around one spot. Make sure that they will take you to the dolphins before you hand over the money. It’s also strange that I didn’t get a receipt. My own fault, note taken. Don’t make the same mistake. The sandbar is nice. We had a fun time walking through it in knee-deep water first, and after the sandbar surfaced as well.

We were able to see some dolphins from afar. They easily disappeared most probably by the noise that the motor boats produced. Even though it was already a little early before the sandbar appeared, we opted to go there and just spent some quiet time watching and observing people who were riding Banana boats. The food served in the boat was delicious. Hope they can do something in crafting the tour package in such a way that there would be no lull moments in between itineraries.

We haven't experienced the Dolphin watching when we had our travel last February 2020. But we enjoyed the Manjuyod sandbar so much. Fine sands and sea breeze were very much a delight for us travellers. We also did banana boat with my friends which add up the fun and adventure of our Negros Travel.

First time seeing dolphins jumping on sight, until noon then go back to where the sand bar would be visible.

Kawasan Falls is a popular tourist attraction in Cebu which comprises of three waterfalls that can be accessed through jungle trails. The largest waterfall cascades 15m into a massive, milky-blue swimming hole, although this has been spoiled by overdevelopment and weekend crowds. Visitors can still explore the second and third waterfalls which are more peaceful and less crowded.
Kawasan Falls is honestly one of the most beautiful waterfalls we have ever seen. The reason for that is mainly the incredibly turquoise blue water. Even if today the Kawasan Falls is very famous and can get quite busy we highly recommend to visit them. In this blog post, we share our tips about how to experience the falls for yourself and the best photo spots.

A perfect place to cool down during hot days and best for looking an adventures! The water is super cold, its good idea to bring with you a good foods. However, this falls is kind of overrated and overused by the tourists, i can feel Kawasan is kind of exhausted of serving huge number of people every single day, but good thing, pandemic gives it a chance to recover!

I advise you to take a waterproof camera, a waterproof bag, and some snacks. Barbecues in the canyon itself cost about 50 pesos.

Once you're here, it's obvious why everybody tells you to visit. The place is gorgeous, serene, and just wonderful to explore. You MUST swim to get through the whole thing, and be ready to jump into deep water with a life vest. At the halfway point is a rest area with food stands. Food is cheap too, but you pay at the end of the trip. Highly recommend going here

One of the musts (if not the top must) of things to do in Cebu. Although the trip is quite far away from Cebu city (if you are staying there) - takes at least three hours, you enjoy during most of the day and have time to rest in the ride back. Pescador Island is a small island situated in the Tañon Strait, which attracts divers due to its reef and underwater cave. The island is surrounded by crystal-clear waters that allow for snorkeling around various coral types, including thriving schools of fish species such as 'Dory' and Parrot fish. Although turtles are known to visit the area, they were not spotted during the recent visit of May 2020.
Ive been snorkling to Boracay, Bohol, Bantayan, Camuigin and more, but this is the best snorkling experience I had. You can see the beautiful paradise under the sea here. 🌊 that feeling that you dont want to leave the island. Trully recommended and a must snorkling in Moalboal. My camera cannot capture the real beauty of the place, so magical and colorful, I hope they can preserve this beauty and hopefully the corals are safe when I can come back.
Marivic Yacapin — Google review
Be forewarn of the coral has been destroyed after typhoon Ursula. Now it was just couple of rebars at the murky bottom to attempt to grow some corals. No Dory and Nemo down here. Be sure to check with the locals before renting a bangka here

This place is a very good snorkeling place. My and my family had gone and do snorkeling to this area. We saw a lot of things like the sea turtle that are very huge and amazing fishes and a school of fishes swimming around under the sea. However while we are swimming around the area. We got itchy and and got a lot of red marks around our skins. Because as we don't know that there are jellyfishes that are swimming around the water. Hence, it is quite difficult to swim due to the jellyfish stings. But, overall my experience here is great
ELIAS — Google review
This place provided me such wonderful experience. The locals were so friendly, guides were considerate and very helpful. I love the part when the local tourism provided a mini orientation about the place, they oriented us about do's and don'ts during the snorkeling; they encouraged us to not only enjoy the place but to help them preserve the beauty of it, tourists are prohibited to touch any creatures during the snorkeling and even during the turtle viewing. I felt safe when we were riding the boats going to Pescador Island, guides were strict about tourists wearing life jackets. The view was exhilarating, approaching the small island bring exuberance and thrill. When we reached the place, local guides reminded us of safety protocols, they were with us while we were enjoying the underwater view, it felt safer knowing they were there watching us. Guides did not only kept us safe, they were giving us tips on how to do snorkeling more fun. As a first timer, I really enjoyed the experience, I know all of the tourist there did. By the way, you can rent an underwater camera to the local guides if you don't have one, and please do rent one, those guides were the reason why I have such awesome underwater photos, they were the ones who took it. Amazing.

Terrible place to do snorkeling. Way too many jelly fishes. The bottom of the sea is super average and the shore as better view. They charge you 1000 php to get there + sardine run and tortoise watch. Those can be done by yourself for 100 php from the shore. Big rip off

A nice little island that you can snorkel around and see all the different types of coral.
There are quote a few fish around including 'Dory' & Parrot fish.
We were taken acrossto the island on a small boat and stayed there for about 20 minutes exploring. The sea is beautiful and clear. But we did not go on the island itself as there wasn't any access to be able to do this.
There has been known to be turtles but we didn't see any here.

First, map marker is wrong. The beach is about a kilometer north.
The marker shows a false strech of beach that is infact just big rocks as seen in the pic with the hut roof in the water.
Second, 10 peso entrence fee. The beach is very crowded, with those small identical stores you find everywhere in the Philipines dotting every square meter at the end of the beach sand opposite to the water. Basically a wall of stores.
Lastly and worse, the sand is rough and filled with sharp dead coral and plastic. And the sand in the water has plastic and wood planks(?) in addition to rocks.
Also ice cream vendors that walk around with a bell they constantly ring.
If you look like a foreigner they will come to you and keep asking if you want to buy ice cream for the kids. Random local kids.
Would not recommend.

The beach in itself is quite nice. As the name itself says - it is a white Sand Beach. I came here on a weekend, so I really could not say much about how it is during the week. But when I was there, it was relatively full - locals and tourists. I prefer Lambug Beach over this place. .
Jamie — Google review
Important: For some reason, the marker for this place is located in the wrong spot, about 805 meters or 0.5 miles off from the most southern-most point of the beach. Please get this marker corrected Google Maps team.
There are two main beaches in Moalboal. Locals calls it basdaku (big sand) and basdiot (little sand), the world knows it as the White Beach and the Panagsama Beach respectively.
The White Beach or "basdaku" of Moalboal, as both its proper and local name suggests, is known for its pristine white sands and the huge area it covers - its a really big beach! Even when there are hundreds of visitors around, it doesn't feel crowded cause you can always find your own spot.
It is known as "white" beach and not "fine white" beach. If you're expecting its sand to be as fine as that of Boracay, Bohol, or even Bantayan, then you are up for a disappointment. Though it may not have the finest of sands, it does offer the most captivating of sunsets.
Tip#1: You can charter a tricycle from the town plaza to get here about P150 for the entire trip (ask the tourism office for update of fare). It would take about 15 to 30 mins ride.
Tip#2: To access the beach, you can drop by at the entrance of HK Resort. There's no entrance fee. Beware of scammers.
Tip#3: Google Maps marker is misplaced. Best to ask the locals for direction.

Overall, it's a good memories with family❤️. 10 Entrance fee and for Van it's 50 pesos.

White Beach in Moalboal is a serene paradise, boasting stunning white sands and an impressive coral reef ideal for snorkeling.
The beach is relatively uncrowded in early January, offering a peaceful retreat.
A unique experience is sipping coconut water, reasonably priced at 90-100 pesos, while enjoying the tranquil beach view.
However, the area is not well-developed in terms of food and drink options.
Although there's a convenience of a nearby shop for essentials like beer and ice cream, visitors might find the lack of diverse dining choices a bit limiting.

The beach is really beautiful and the water is so clear. The experience is not so great when there are lots of people especially in the weekends,it can be super crowded. If you want to experience just a calm and relaxing beach day I suggest you go there on weekdays, there are less people going to the beach. Also when it's a low tide you can see big rocks on the ocean so not really a pleasant sight.

Recommended for people who loves nature🥰 Crystal Blue Waterfalls, cold breeze air to enjoy with. Lots of stairs going down the Falls is exhausting though 😜 Adult Entrance fee of 50 Pesos(inclusive Swimming in the pool and Falls) Just bring your own food to save money and you’re good to go 🤗👍

Nice place to stay and bond with family and friends. Overnight rooms and cottages can be rented. Can also bring your own tent. Some of the cottages do not have functioning lights. There is no quiet time so be prepared for the other groups that decides to drink all night and talk loud with no regards to the other people who are trying to sleep.
The pool water is spring water and just flows in and flows out a spillway on the other end.
The main reason I gave it 3 stars is for the lack of noise discipline and enforcement which should be quiet hours.

It is good to be here with your family, especially if you have an event. janitors or care taker, are responsible and good people. they are disciplinary when it comes to trash to provide the cleanliness in the place. the vibe was good especially when you came early, like in the morning because it is cold and good for coffee.

If you're a nature lover, this place is a must-visit. The location is easily accessible via a well-paved road from the highway. Once you arrive, you'll find a variety of accommodations, including cozy cottages, a beautiful spring-fed swimming pool, and numerous picturesque spots to snap photos.
But the real highlight of this resort is the stunning waterfall below, which is truly breathtaking. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can cross the fallen giant tree bridge and have a fantastic spot to take some incredible pictures.
What's more, I appreciated the attention to safety at this resort. Handrails are installed in the waterfall area, which make it easy and safe to explore the site.
The only downside is that the phone signal is a bit weak, but the piso Wi-Fi stations available throughout the resort make up for it.
All in all, my stay at this resort was a memorable and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful natural setting.

A simple paradise with fresh water falls and mountain views. If you need a place to get away and relax, come early and try to find a day/time when it's not so busy. The only downside is that some of the pools/falls are not so accessible for the young or old. Need to be nimble and watch for slippery rocks.

Me and my family enjoyed our stay here, super relaxing, and staffs are very friendly. place is pet friendly as well. my dogs enjoyed the beach. food is cheap, we even bought from the fishermen directly and had the staffs cook it. will definitely go back to this place.

There is a bar with stage for live music. It’s nicely done, clean and well maintained. Pretty setting in front of the beach. One of the patrons accidentally broke a glass and we were surprised they were asked to pay 200 pesos for it on top of paying for the drink already. It was a quiet evening when we visited, which we enjoyed.

The place is renamed since the pandemic. It's funny enough not possible to go there by car. The owner hopes that the last 100 yards will be finished soon so that you can come until 50 yards of the facility. Owner is very pleasant. Good bed and good bathroom. No complaints except the wifi is real bad and no other datareception possible in the room.

Dishonest owner and a terrible place. Don't stay here!!!!
Edit: I stayed here for a short time in 2019 with my then gf. The stay was bad enough that we left halfway through, requested a refund, were promised said refund and subsequently not refunded the correct amount. Yhetd was no watef and nk services provided while we were there. What was supposed to be a ten night stay was cut short after two nights. The owner then threatened to have me assaulted in Bacolod when I complained to her directly. So I'm not unposting a bad review. Maybe you should keep better records.

Way overpriced for facility. Excellent service from the one and only staff. It's an unexpected adventure just to get there, aim to check in before 3pm... A long tricycle ride from Sipalay, then a boat, then walk a mile on the beach.... Carrying luggage.... Beach is polluted with plastic... So many places to stay without the hassle, and better value.
Maybe they should drop the
Price. It's a good place to stay a few days or more... If it were cheaper.

Amazing location set on sugar beach, very simple accommodation and laid back. Behind the resort you will find the local population of sugar beach and a few sari sari stores. Got a great tour of the area with a local kid. The manager was super helpful with our check in, finding us local beers and bbq.
Yes no t.v, WiFi, hot water... But I would stay here again in heartbeat for the amazing Filipino hospitality on hand

Danjugan Island is a 43-hectare protected oasis that boasts sandy beaches and dense rainforest, as well as a diverse range of wildlife. The island embodies the principles of intelligent ecotourism, with well-maintained pathways providing access to idyllic deserted beaches, sea-eagle nests and a screeching bat cave. Visitors can observe pythons feeding at the entrance to the cave during evening exodus of bats.
Beautiful place. Great people. Food was amazing, we were fed every two hours maybe lol... Very comfy room was luxurious given this is not a resort. Little touches like scented candles when we entered the room. A guide is assigned to us for our entire stay letting us pick the activities (there are lots!) we'd like to do or you can just chill. The only place where you can see both spectacularly sunrise from one side of the island and watch sunset at the other side. I'll be coming back. Photos speak for itself...
Rein S — Google review
Only tried the 3-hour tour but it was enough for me to experience what the island has to offer both under the water and over. The marine sanctuary was teeming with aquatic life. Too bad I forgot to bring an underwater camera. My guide took us around the island as well. We visited the turtle hatching site, the tabon hatching site, a bat cave, and a lagoon where we did some kyaking. The island is well worth an overnight, which i plan to do on a future visit.

Danjugan Island allows everyone a safe refuge from everyday life's wear and tear. The island is a love letter to the future generation - it is a gift to our grandchildren and a reminder of how diverse, beautiful and full of adventures our planet is. It is also a reminder to take care of our environment so those yet to be born can still see the wonders.
The perks:
It is only a few hours away from Bacolod and is easily accessible through public transport
You can get to the island by boat and the ride there is already part of the tour
There are rooms with complete amenities for rent
Food is excellent and delicious
Service is topnotch
The island is beautiful and you will never run out of activities to choose from
Swimming, kayaking, trekking, sightseeing, diving, snorkeling and of course eating delicious meals are juat some of the activities you can enjoy
The downside:
If you plan to work or spend your time on social media, don't. There is no signal in the island. You have to walk a few hundred meters to get a signal
This is not actually so bad as you can enjoy the island without being annoyed by the outside world. This is also a reminder that there are adventures away from the screens of our phones and outside of social media
Jared Mark Lagahit — Google review
Went there October 2018, the place is beautiful and since the island is a private property, there is a fee going there but it is all worth it! Included in the said fee were boat service to and from the island, food (AM/PM snack, Lunch), snorkeling gears and a tour guide since you will be exploring the island for the whole day. You can also stay there since there are cottages in the island.
Daniel James Reyes Mabilangan — Google review
My Danjugan trip was by far the most satisfying overnight vacation I have experienced in recent memory. The island offers trip packages for your convenience and you will not be disappointed. For a fixed fee, you can already stay on the island for a night complete with amiable accommodations and superb food. The food can be compared with no less than the best restaurant you can find in Negros. It is also not your regular one viand meal but a fully prepared set meal that is sumptuous and delightful, you will be surprised with the quality and the taste. The scheduled activities are fun and insightful, your payment already includes unlimited use of any of their gears to snorkel, to trek, and to kayak. And the activities are endless since the island boasts of numerous diving and snorkel spots. The island also features a bat cave and several beaches and a handful lagoons for your amusement. This is one place that you should definitely visit in Negros.

Foremost of all, the conservation effort of the entire team is commendable.
Do not miss the opportunity to dive / snorkel at the Coral Garden and be prepared to be amazed at the schools of giant colorful angelfish.
The sunsets are stunning.
Moray Lagoon, named after the many resident moray eels (do not dip your fingers), is an eye-catching aquamarine color, and it is good for kayaking for those who like this activity.
It is full-board (accommodation, 3 meals, a morning snack, and an afternoon snack). There is so much food. Needless to say, it represents excellent value for the amount that you paid.

Eco-tourism at its best. It isn't a resort but the service is exceptional. It's a good place for reconnecting with nature and learning how to take care of the environment more. It's rich in marine life and it proves to be a healthy habitat for all living things. Danjugan provides two types of accommodation options; the open air and mud-hut cottages, each of which has its own charm. There are so many things to do here but my favourite is watching the sun set at a quiet beach facing the Sulu Sea.
Mount Canlaon is an active volcano located on an island, with hiking trails leading to its summit. It is the highest peak in the area and can be seen from a distance during flights. Mt. Kanlaon is the 3rd most active volcano in the Philippines located at the central-northern part of Negros island. There are two main entry points to the volcano: the easier and more common trail is the Guintubdan while the more demanding is the Wasay trail. Both are considerably a major climb that will last for 2 days.

The Guisi Lighthouse is a historical landmark located by the beach that was constructed in the 18th century by Spanish colonists to guide mariners passing through Iloilo and Guimaras strait. The lighthouse can be accessed via a light trail, which takes around 15 minutes uphill and offers breathtaking views of the beach. At the top of the hill lies an old Spanish-colonial outpost, as well as decaying remains of the metal lighthouse structure.
Remnants of an old Spanish time built lighthouse. It offers spectacular of Panay Gulf. The light house is perfect for old world pictorials. Has an old well that's serves as a wishing well.
Hire a tricycle or motorcycle to get to this destination. Entrance is free.

Lots of great places for picture taking. The history of the place was interesting as well. There were souvenir shops near the place as well. It was a short trek up to the light house but the path was already cemented so it was easier.

The Guisi Lighthouse is an 18th century Spanish-colonial lighthouse built beside the beach. It was built to guide mariners passing the Iloilo and Guimaras strait. The lighthouse can be reached by following a light trail. The 15-minute uphill trek to the Guisi Lighthouse also provides a great view of the beach. At the top of the hill are the ruins of a Spanish-colonial outpost and the rotting remains of the metal lighthouse structure. Although the condition of the old lighthouse is already in disarray the Guimarasnons take pride in having the second oldest lighthouse, next to the old lighthouse in Aparri, Cagayan.

Located at the island of Guimaras, Guisi Lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse in the Philippines. It was built to light the Philippine seas and channels in order to guide ships to and fro Manila, Iloilo and Cebu. You will have to take a 15 minute uphill trek to reach the lighthouse wherein you can see the beautiful ruins and stunning nature views. After visiting the lighthouse, you can opt to relax and unwind at the Guisi Beach.

Located in Brgy. Dolores, Nueva Valencia Guimaras. The Guisi Lighthouse was built in 1894 during the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines. It offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, including the nearby islands of Negros and Panay. And as you can see, best spot for sunset.

The second oldest lighthouse in the Philippines. The structure is made of prefabricated metals from France, the "tisa" from Portugal and the cement from England. Personally, I don’t know if it’s worth visiting, considering you need to take a one-hour drive just to see this and just this, nothing more 🫣. Maybe it will be worth it if you’re a fan of lighthouses.

I love historical stuffs and so when we went here I am so amazed because I didn’t know anything and thought it’s new light house. The vines and the flowers growing through the cracks and at the walls of the station gave the place another pint of bliss ✨ The lighthouse itself is already deteriorated and people are not advised to even go in or too close to its body to avoid total collapse. 🗼

Arrived here at 5pm and witnessed the beautiful sunset. The rusty remains and walls with crawling vines add to the romantic vibes of the place. There were also Sinukuan charms which you can buy at the souvenir stalls outside.
Relaxed resort with quirky accommodations, ziplines & outdoor pools, plus dining & a spa.
The resort is very far from the main city and there is no access to public transportation unless you're gonna hire/rent a car. However, the place is amazing! My family and I went there like 3 times for a year as the kids love all the displays there and their swimming pools. I would highly recommend this resort but you should have your own means of transportation.

Ones upon a time….
Yeah, one time this must been a fantastic place, a lot of efforts put in to make this a very enjoyable and exciting place for family and kids.
But like in all good companies, if management is not correct and knows the value of keeping the assets fully maintained, then it will slowly fall to piece’s.
Don’t blame Covid!, maintenance is a choice you make, and to keep the place tidy and maintained don’t take a lot if you do it from day one.
It’s a pity, cause the place is great and all work put in here and all details are very good.
Rojoso — Google review
Especially with kids, this place is brilliant. Pools, rides, playgrounds. Just never ending pleasure for kids. The rooms are schizophrenic. The outside is stunning, be it teepee or hits or sleeping inside a dino or a gorilla... But where the outside is amazing, the inside is quite basic. The choice of foods is also quite basic, experienced locals bring their own supplies. A place which you should not miss if you have (grand)children. Especially if the seaside towns are too hot, this place has a lot better atmosphere.
The views of the mountains are also stunning, but I have the impression that people come here, have different priorities.
Paul Holtslag — Google review
The place is Good and relaxing, I would recommend visiting this place for just a day visit and swimming, but I would not recommend staying there for an overnight stay. Based on my experience we had a bad experience of not having a water supply for our bathrooms the whole night until morning .. which is so troublesome. They had only limited staff during night.. they had no telephone lines if you asked for assistance. . We also encounter an issue, with the ticketing of entrance fee, this is just my hunch but I think there is an anomaly in some of your staff assigned in that area , which leaves a mark of bad impression on their part.
Kevin Bretaña — Google review
The resort overall is a great place to have fun and kids will enjoy for sure. However, I will not recommend it for family who wants to stay overnight. Rooms are not well maintained, dusty and windows are not even wiped/clean for a long time, very cloudy and lots of small dead bugs.We stayed in the mamoth room. On the stairs on our way up to the room, there’s a dead cockroach. The room itself smells stinky as well especially the washroom and the shower room. The washroom door is also broken and staff came to have it fix but only temporarily. Their shower room is not clean and there is nowhere to hang your bathroom towel/clothes, not even a single hook which makes it very inconvenient especially for a family room that caters 9 people and a room situated in front of a pool. So after swimming, we ended up having wet slippery floor and not very safe especially for kids. Public washrooms are also left uncleaned. After swimming, you will be left with no choice but to shower with very cold water. Day trip will be perfect for family and there’s a lot of great areas to take photos and large pools to swim too. I hope management will focus also with the cleanliness of the resort which is very important and not just building additional structures. Staffs are nice and accomodating.

The place is perfect for family outing. Every age group will have somewhere to enjoy whether a calming area, an activity, or a pool. The kids really enjoyed the bubble shower and the wave pool.
Although we're a little bit disappointed with the service as well. All cottages were marked with 'reserved' and will force the visitors to occupy a table in the crowded canopy area when in fact some marked/reserved cottages will remain unoccupied until the end of the day.

I would say it's a good place for a vacation. There are lots of rides and spots to visit, and they have lots of cottages for lots of people as well as rooms to stay overnight. The only thing I dislike is the scorching heat of the sun and having to go from place to place over such a long distance.

Campuestohan has been part of my childhood, I remember the 1st time we went here for a Family reunion. I was 6-7 y/o at that time, I still remember the excitement, the joy in my eyes, those were the days I was so happy and amazed at the same time to think that how much more this world could offer. Life has been so beautiful at all time, we just had to find the right place to spent at.

It's such a nice place at the mountains, fresh air, but OMG it's dirty there. There's no one t9 clean, the trash can be there on the floor for days. I want to think it's because of the pandemic, but still, it's a children's place and everything is so dirty. People who visit this place are mostly people who can afford it, it's only 200 pesos, so mostly any one and with that I mean the park should take more responsibility in making sure people don't litter and follow the rules. Also the dinosaur park was under construction and there was no one to avoid kids from coming in, super dangerous! My kids enjoyed it so much, I didn't, was grosses out most of the time making sure my kids wouldn't get a disease.
Erick V?zquez — Google review
A nice resort to visit especially if you have kids. They have multiple pools (wave pool, swimming pool, water park, foam pool etc.). Wave pool was closed when we were there. But other pools were opened. The water coming down from two buckets on top of the waterpark could be harsh for little ones and there is no barrier between the main pool and the pool surrounding the main pool. It could be hazardous for the little kids without supervision.
There are plenty of spots to take pictures as well, and the scenery around the resort is gorgeous! Recommend to take some photos at sunset if you’re staying overnight.
The resort provides breakfast for visitors staying overnight. You get rice (steam or garlic), one meat item (beef, pork, or fish), and one drink (coffee, chocolate, or juice).
The bed was spacious and good for four family members in our cottage. It has kettle for hot water but they don’t provide coffee. Recommend to bring your own instant coffee if you are a coffee person, or you can buy coffee or other drinks at the resort. We tried the pizza there and it is delicious! It was freshly baked with wood fire.
There are also a lot of things to do at the resort like zip line, hamster wheel, etc. Plus they have emergency medical assistance center and vehicle. Overall it is a great resort to visit but recommend adult supervision for the safety of your kids.

Included in our Bacolod tour and had low expectations. I was surprised how "fun" the place was in general despite the tackiness. Had a few unique attractions despite what you may think. General surrounding environment was quite beautiful and cool. Upkeep of place is surprisingly good.
Key issues i had were poorly located smoking areas where kids pass by, and general value for money of food where you get cafeteria food at restaurant prices.

Stayed here for maybe only 1.5 hour but I liked it for the cooler weather and beautiful views of the mountains behind and the sea and lowland on the other side. There are lots of tables/cottages or you can also dine in in the restaurant where food is okay. They have a zipline, hanging bridge, pools, swings. It's also clean and you can see they really provide trash cans everywhere. It's good for families and groups.

We went there last year for the birthday celebration of my son. The place is a bit far from Bacolod City. But once you get there the view is really nice. They offer lots of activities in a reasonable price. We also like the big slides and the wave pool. They also have a restaurant and food stalls where you can buy food. What I don't like about our experience was the room where we stayed overnight. It was quite pricey the room is not worth the price. We booked a dino room good for six people. The room only have a small window it feels like you are trap inside a cave. The room was dusty and the pillows have yellow stains on it. The size of the blanket they gave us is good for 5 year old kid. We did not like the toilet and shower area as well. We hope they can improve it. All in all it is a good place to visit especially for kids. The weather there was cold even during summer time.

We’ve been here 2 days ago for a family relaxation but it did not meet our expectation.
Rooms: Poor, not well clean and amenities were incomplete. It was good for 6 but they provide only 4 items for each .The locks of the cr and rooms were rusty and others are broken.
Safety: some of the electrical wires of the post with lights were open and not safe for children who are playing
Spots: not maintained and not clean
Safety: No cctv camera esp. in the entrance area, one of our phone was lost and we did not recover it
Note to the owner:
Please double check all the needed areas to be renovated or atleast do daily or weekly cleaning of the spots esp. the water on the bridges, rooms and also find time to do something about the security and safety of the tourist.
Ps we came all the way from a far place but go home unsatisfied .

San Sebastian Cathedral is a well-known 19th-century Catholic cathedral located in Bacolod. It features elegant architecture dating back to the Spanish times and holds historical significance as recognized by the Philippine Historical Committee. The cathedral's airy interior with chandeliers adds to its charm, and visitors can also explore the Bishops Palace within its grounds. The structure is made of stunning adobe blocks that have stood the test of time, making it a must-see for history enthusiasts.
It's a very solemn place for contemplation, prayer and for worshipping. Good place to visit for your pilgrimage and a nice stop over on your visit to the city.

Service is quite slow and cluttered. Could definitely be improved. When you pay you have to go to the main capitol building. And the employees of the booking office needs to get a hold of the flow in booking.

Terrible hotel experience, rooms are way overpriced, payed so much and there was no wifi, no towels (need to pay extra for towels) no mini bar and no blankets, only one little sheet for two people to share. No restaurants! The only option is to order room service but they close at 7:00 pm so you stay hungry all night. The staff is unorganized and unprofessional. And you need to pay extra to enter the resort, so the hot springs are NOT included in the room price. And we were charged another wired resort fee, just felt like they were milking us for everything they could.
Hot springs are amazing and beautiful but that’s the only good thing about the place. Better to just come for the day and NOT stay overnight.

The resort offers a wide range of activities such as swimming, camping, trekking, zip-lining, and boating. Visitors can also enjoy the natural sulfur hot springs and mud pools which are believed to have therapeutic benefits.
Apart from the natural attractions, the resort also features various accommodations, restaurants, and souvenir shops for visitors to enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the stay at the resort a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Overall, Mambukal Mountain Resort is an excellent choice for tourists looking for a unique outdoor experience in the Philippines.

My family had a good time. Me, I didn’t get to see anything. I tried to contact them for 2 weeks to check if we could get a cabin to sped the night. No one would answer their phone. When we got there, there was over rowing, no secure place to park and no security for parked vehicles. So I had to stay with the car while everyone else went to have fun.
The staff at the location was less than helpful. They didn’t seem to care that we traveled there at a pretty good cost, since there was a lot of people in our group.

This place is impressive for they have a lot of stuff going around it. When we got here I didn't expect something like bats are in here that is pleasing to my eyes and several tourist attractions that we experienced. I only thought it is a good public pool that we can go and swim on. But there are a lot of things you will see here. There are also rivers and high valleys that you will go through. It is a fantastic place for a vacation. But my favourite part of this place is the ofuru or the hot spring that is sulfur. I only had seen those stuff exist on anime, and trying to bathe on it is great. But, as a first timer it is quite hard to bare and stay at because the water is so hot, so you had to cool down first before going in the hot spring. so yeah there are a lot more things that you will see here and I highly recommend people to go here.

Was very hesitant to go here as I'm not a fan of publicly accessed pools. But I do love hot springs and there isn't really much to do around Bacolod. Came as early as we can as we went on a Saturday and I did expect for crowd eventually. One of the kuya was helpful enough to show which pool came with the entrance and showed which had extra payment. Of course we went for the Japanese dipping pool cause it was only an extra 100php and that time there was no one else. We were lucky enough to have it to ourselves for at least 45mins before others started picking up that it was better than the public access one. We left soon after. Do note that there is a shower area in it but shampoo, wash etc. Its all bring your own. And shower water is cold. @trina.rxs

Northwing, Old Capitol Bldg., N Capitol Rd, Bacolod, 6100 Negros Occidental, Philippines
The Ruins is a popular tourist spot in Bacolod, showcasing the remains of an elegant Italianate mansion that was destroyed during WWII. It boasts of a restaurant and well-manicured gardens, making it a must-visit destination. The best time to see this attraction is around 5 pm when visitors can witness the stunning view of both sunlight, dawn and nightfall. Visitors can take advantage of the picturesque surroundings perfect for taking photos with loved ones while enjoying the serene ambiance.
It is a must see when you are in Bacolod. The best time to visit is around 5 pm. So you will get sunlight as well as the dawn and nightfall. Absolutely stunning. Extraordinary place to take pictures and just to chill and relax. I really enjoyed coming here a lot. I love the pictures I took. And it is not that expensive to get I too.

The place is very nice. The entrance fee you'll be paying is worth it for the nice view and place. We visited the place at around 10am onwards which is there are no too much tourists in the place. Highly recommend during early lunch if you're wanting to have less contact with other guests and maybe for the view at around 4pm to 5pm. The entrance fee for adults are 150 pesos and for students and seniors I think it's 120 pesos and free for those kids under 3 feet.

Beautiful place with interesting history. You could easily spend hours wandering the grounds. There is a gift shop, restaurants, juice bar, and great spots for taking photos. Not too crowded with available parking.

An amazing tranquil environment. There is so much nature here that you feel an instant calmness. If you ever need to take a breather or relax with a peace of mind, come here, walk the beautiful park, then sit down in the cafe, face the ruin and enjoy a cup of wine.

An aesthetic building with great history!
Don't forget to try their fresh sugarcane juice after strolling around the area! You can really see and taste the great quality of the sugarcane here in Negros! It's not that refreshing even tho it's cold, but it's really good!!!

We went here during our unplanned trip to Talisay, Negros Oriental. The place is magnificent outside. You can appreciate its aesthetic scene and have a memorable experience in The Ruins. It has a resemblance to the story of the Taj Mahal. Perfect for taking photos with your loved ones.

We visited the place at 6:00pm on a Friday. There was only 1 visitor here aside from us. I remember I visited this place back in 2017 at noon and the place was a bit packed. There was also a lot to see in the Ruins at that time. The place is still beautiful, but the old fixtures ans other displays were placed in one room, probably to protect them from the rain. There are still a lot of spots to take a photo of, namely, the ourside of the building, the fountain, and the trees where lights are hung. If you like history and would love to hear the story of this building, this is for you, if that's not your cup of tea, then there's not much for you to do here aside from taking photos. There was a man inside an area entertaining guests, who I believe could share the background of this building.

This historical site features the ruins of a mansion house of a prominent figure in Negros Occidental. The tour guides there are very informative entertaining. They recommend to visit the place during the afternoon, around 4pm for best experience (and to avoid the heat of the day). There are a lot spots in the place where you can take good photos.

The place is great. I enjoyed the tour guide. He is really funny and entertaining. He has a good shots for photo and souvenirs. The best time to visit the ruins is sunset.

I think it’s best to visit the place at night because it’s not too crowded and not too hot. It closes at 9PM. The only way to get there is via private vehicle. Very close to the airport. There is a restaurant there but be prepared to pay more since it’s a tourist spot. At least you get to eat pizzas with a view of the Ruins.

Good to know it's now being recognized to be one of the best ruins in the world (as per Roger the tourist guide) :) The place improved a lot compared to my last visit 6 years ago. The Souvenir Shop has more items, the garden is greener and cleaner, the restaurant has more available food & drinks, there's even a live acoustic singer... a great place for picture taking esp during sunset. I also like the otherside park with mini lake and swans.
Drake Hogestyn — Google review
The ruins itself was preserved nicely. The place was clean and garden fairly well-manicured. My comment is just the tacky design of the coffee/resto shop and the entrance. When building structures around a historic site, use the same design as the main building.

We rented some bikes and took a ride to The Ruins. It didn't disappoint with the scenic garden. You can't take the bike inside where most people are though, but there's a parking lot just after the ticket entrance.
The tour guide says the pillars/walls were made from Grade A cement and egg whites and were constructed non-stop, to which the marbly finish can be attributed (even though it was intentionally burned down one time to prevent Japanese occupation during WW2)... I don't really buy that, but the guide is really funny with his jokes (I am not a local, but I can understand a bit with the gestures and context) so I forgive him lol.
The higher levels of the ruins are not open, but the ground floor is. There's a souvenir shop inside too.
There's a reflective table which can take pics that are seemingly taken from a lake's or pool's surface for extra effect but the queue can get long.

First time visiting this beautiful place. So much history!
Coffee at the cafe is good as well. SERVICE IS SUPERB.
There's loads of people when we were there and it's not even a weekend. But happy to report that the guests are all respectful and are not noisy.
We stayed until 8pm, waited until they closed the lights so we can shoot the house with the stars. Definitely should visit when in Bacolod.
Entrance fee is 120 each. Loads of parking spaces. Visitors can enter up to 730PM. But best to visit before sunset.

My visit to The Ruins in Talisay, Negros Occidental was truly enjoyable. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the majestic skeletal structure that stood before me. The architectural details and grandeur of the ruins left me in awe.
Exploring the surrounding gardens was a delight for the senses. The lush greenery and well-manicured landscapes provided a serene and tranquil atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a leisurely walk and a moment of reflection.
The historical significance of The Ruins added an extra layer of fascination to my visit. Learning about the mansion's past and its connection to the region's history gave me a deeper appreciation for its beauty.
The Ruins' picturesque views, particularly during sunset, were simply breathtaking. The golden hues cast over the site created a magical ambiance that made my visit even more memorable.
Overall, my experience at The Ruins was delightful. It offered a perfect blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty. If you're looking for a captivating and enjoyable destination, I highly recommend visiting The Ruins in Talisay.

This tourist spot is just few mins away from the airport. You can literally just take a Grab ride or a tricycle from airport to your first tourist destination if you are a backpacker. Entrance fee is at Php150, tricycle at Php30. There is a restaurant inside which is quite pricey but tasty. They also have a tour guide inside who will tell a bit about the history of the place. The interior has lights already and it has a beautiful garden which is usually rented for special occasion. So, some find it difficult to get there, if the place was exclusively rented. You just have to comeback the following day or days and try your luck.

When visiting Bacolod, this place is a must.
It is like you are transported to a different country. There is much history in this location. Sprawling grounds. You can relax and walk around. You should enjoy the breeze and sit down.
There is a souvenir store, a small cafe beside it. Fresh sugar cane juice and ample parking.
Check the weather if you are going. We were lucky that it was not too hot and it was not raining as well.

We enjoyed our time in the ruins and a lot of it is because of tour guide Mars. He is a fun guide and takes very fun photos of our group. Best to go there early about 5 mins before 9am so you can avoid the crowd. Cool remnants of the house with great stories told.

Nice place, beautiful so easy to take pretty pictures. We went on a weekend as it's quite close to where we live (sadly I dressed like a bum) many people there taking engagement photos, group photos and family photos. Very cool looking place, the gardens are nice and well taken care of. The history is quite interesting and overall I think we'll go back just to wander around the gardens and enjoy a nice day (plus next time better pictures as I will at least wear nicer clothes, my bad) will also go back on a weekday when I think there will be less people and have lunch at the cafe.

The place is situated within the plains of sugarcane plantation. It is secretly hidden by tall walls and trees at the front part because the parking space is at the side and the entrance to The Ruins is at the back part. We went there at 6pm and we enjoyed the night view of the mansion. By watching the video we were able to understand and educate ourselves about the history of this mansion. All the architectural designs are beautiful and worth to see. The place is so quiet, peaceful and calm. I highly recommend to visit this place when you are in Bacolod.

Heard from our tour guide that the ruins was constructed as a testament of his love (Mariano) for his wife, Cora. Remarkable architecture however, it was later set aflame in 1942 to prevent its use as a military office by the Japanese Forces. Worth visiting just take note that the best time to visit is during sunset.

Embarking on a day tour at The Ruins in Talisay City offered a captivating journey through time and architectural grandeur, with the added convenience of walk-ins being welcome. Tickets, however, could only be procured on-site, adding an element of spontaneity to the visit.
Choosing the day tour proved to be an ideal option, allowing me to soak in the rich history and intricate details of The Ruins at a leisurely pace. The imposing structure, bathed in the warm glow of sunlight, stood as a testament to a bygone era, and the decision to explore during daylight enhanced the visual allure.
Upon arrival, the option for walk-ins made the experience accessible to impromptu travelers. Purchasing tickets directly at the venue added a sense of immediacy, enabling me to seamlessly begin the exploration of this iconic historical site.
One notable feature of the day tour was the availability of a museum tour guide. This knowledgeable guide brought The Ruins to life with engaging narratives, unveiling the tales of love, tragedy, and architectural brilliance that defined the mansion. Exploring the site with these insights added a profound layer of appreciation for the cultural and historical significance of The Ruins.
The museum tour guide highlighted intricate architectural details, sharing the stories behind the mansion's construction and the tragic events that shaped its history. The lush surroundings and well-maintained gardens provided a serene backdrop to the journey, creating a harmonious blend of nature and history.
Strolling through the manicured gardens, I discovered hidden corners and picturesque vantage points that added to the charm of the experience. The day tour's relaxed pace allowed for unhurried exploration, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the ambiance and capture the essence of The Ruins.
In conclusion, the flexibility of walk-ins, the recommendation for a day tour, and the availability of a museum tour guide made The Ruins in Talisay City an accessible and enriching destination. The convergence of historical narrative, architectural splendor, and the personal touch of a guided tour crafted a memorable and immersive exploration of this cultural gem.

A nice place to visit, very relaxing with the nice views. We went there during lunch time so we decided to avail the 400 each entrance fee which is consumable at their restaurant, We were happy and satisfied with our food, all in all it is all worth it! A must see if you enjoy architecture! Although you are looking at a bombed out building but he name Ruins does not do justice to this place. Very beautiful architecture. Best I've seen in the region. If you are in the area well worth the visit. We paid 150p for entrance and very little to walk. The cafe is very nice with a majestic view! A nice stop!

The place is romantic except that it has many visitors.
The lights they installed in the structure give life to the ruins.
We visited this place for dinner, and also to witness a portion of history in Bacolod. This place is recommended for couples, they have good music here.
You can book a Grab taxi for the most convenient ride to go here.

I came here with my partner and daughter.
It was an interestingly old place, hence being called the Ruins.
There was an entrance fee but once inside you can explore, the grass is well looked after, green and great for a picnic.
There are food stores onsite and also a gift shop.
If you'd like to explore what Negros Occidental and the wider Philippines has to offer, I certainly recommend a visit to the ruins for a family day out, whether you live in the region or you travelled all the way from Australia to be here.
Tours are offered at this 1897 home of a sugar baron, outfitted with period fixtures & furnishings.
This was a really nice part of Negros Occidental history. The house is almost exactly the same from when the sugar baron made it. The floor and walls really speak of history and tell you a lot about the lives of the people that stayed there.
There are guided tours and they can speak English.
A lot of the things in the building are donated from other families. So there is a small part of the history missing.
There is a museum shop too.

Moment of History in a Jiffy. If you're in a hurry or have little time to spare but want to know more about the Negrense history, do visit this quaint house. The house offers a glimpse of life decades ago, with portraits, preserved furniture and personal items of the ancestors. There's an impressive family tree mounted on a round glass table, which is regularly updated. There were artists creating masterpieces in the house when we visited last March 11, 2022. There's a small souvenir room, too, with various items for sale (key chains, costume jewelry or accessories, paintings, etc.)

Worth it ang 170 pesos paid sa entrance. Unli tablea hot choco and you can spend the entire afternoon chilling with your friends. Before you enter, they will let you watch a five minute recorded video of one of the owners sharing about the place's history. On the way up, someone will share info with you as well.

Frankly speaking it's quite unimpressive. I have visited ancestral houses in other places in the Philippines and they were way better preserved and way cheaper. It is basically a restaurant now which only allows dine-in for a group of minimum 18 people. The house doesn't belong to the city so the money you're spending here goes to the family. The entry is 200php/person including a very short tour with a guide who speaks so fast it will feel like they are late for an appointment. But comes with unlimited hot chocolate. That part is good nonetheless. Hence the 2-star review.
If you have nothing to do in the city and have some spare cash to spend then it's for you. Skip it otherwise.

If you like exploring ancestral homes and enjoying local delicacy, then this should be in your list if ever you visit the province of Iloilo. People can walk-in to enjoy a guided tour of the ancestral home. The Php 180 fee (~$3, as of August 2023) includes unlimited hot chocolate drink and homemade biscuits that you enjoy by the former living area of the house at the end of the 10-minute tour. They also serve Pancit Molo (famous delicacy in Iloilo) but you have to reserve a day before your visit since the dish is prepared fresh and only for those who reserved in advance.
The hot chocolate is superb in taste, thick and not too sweet. Dipping the biscuits in the hot chocolate is truly divine.
For PWD, there is another area where you can enter since getting into the upper floor of the house means climbing a steep staircase.
You can buy the homemade biscuits at Php 40 a pack (less than $1). You can choose between the buttery biscuits and the more savory option.

A very nice ancestral house in Iloilo! You will be welcomed by their shop upon entrance where you can buy tablea and other souveneir items. You have the option to just shop or do the heritage tour.
We availed the heritage tour for 150 PHP per person inclusive of a batirol (hot chocolate) which you could request for a refill as much as you like. The tour is not as informational as I expected aside from the vudeo played at the start. Still, I enjoyed the amazing pieces of things inside the ancestral house.

Neo-Gothic colonial church, built in 1831, with a white-coral facade & statues of female saints.
A popular tourist destination. The Molo Church or the St. Anne Parish Church is a Neo Gothic Church built in 1831. It is known as a feminist church owing to the 16 female saints found on the columns of the church. National Hero, Jose Rizal, visited the church in 1886 on his way to Manila from Dapitan.

I never saw the church was open.
I think its interesting to see itz one time from inside.
But outside a lot of cars and bike parking. You will see from outside of the church is very old because of the color, but the beautifulness of the church never disappeared.

Molo Church is one of the oldest Church in Iloilo and has a magnificent Gothic and Romanesque architecture. Also, there are several Masses on Sundays, both in English and the Ilonggo dialect, which can fulfill a Catholic's Sunday obligation.

Visited on a Sunday, and there were plenty of church goers. I didn’t have the chance to take a peek inside but the exterior facade itself, was enormous, beautiful and captivating.

We were out for a morning stroll and Molo Church was nearby our hotel so we thought that we might as well go to the church and pray. We thought that it was closed (there was an event). Luckily, we were allowed to go inside and visit the church.
It was currently being renovated that’s why the entrance door was closed.

Relaxing late afternoon and early evening in the walk/hangout at MOLO Plaza. Cleaned open space shared by the locals and visitors. Food stalls are abundant from side street vendors to home grown Filipinos restaurants brand.

A very beautiful church. There were many statues of female saints inside. The altar was spectacular and the Christmas decorations suited the place. We also got bibingkas outside and they were yummy. The Molo Mansion was just in front of thr church.

We visited the place at 4pm and it’s the best time to chill here. There is a Molo Playground infront of the church and plaza were you can hang out.
At night time, there are mini bibingkas infront of the church that are affordable.

The mall also features numerous dining establishments to choose from. Visitors can enjoy free wifi for an hour while they shop or relax with friends and family. Probably the best mall in the city. This place has really transformed into an international standard mall from what it was in the early 2000s. I was real impressed to see more international brands and upgraded areas such as the cinema as well as a new wing to the mall.

Haven't been here in forever! It changed so much since 11 years ago. The middle center is where we used to perform during school's dance competition! What a memories! It felt surreal to be back!

This place DO operate pretty well despite of the pandemic. Regulations are strictly implemented and timely since they allow digital registrations for log-ins. The staffs are well taught with discipline. Foods are fantastic and clean. Despite the numbers of people in it, it's not crowded and can maintain good distance.

I'm not a fan of any SM. Not that there a bad place just so big and I can think of places I would rather be but I have arranged to meet a friend here for lunch. Shakey's seemed like a good place to meet here.

One of the biggest Malls in Iloilo, and it was super crowded, even on a weekday. Maybe kids were having vacations, could see almost all stores full, except the expensive eateries.
Wasn't very impressed with most of the stores inside either. Like the employees itself seemed rude or not bothered.

They're like a SM City Bacoor or Fairview.. but this time, you'll see a lot of Ilonggo products, accessories and fashionable traditional attire. And it's just across our hotel! It's heaven!

SM city is a popular mall here in the Philippines. Lots of different restaurants and shopping opportunities. Great place to escape the sweltering heat.
The photos are of a lechon restaurant I liked called Lechon Haus. Located on the basement level near one of the malls exits

First time in SM Iloilo. We had problems on parking and language. The service in Kuya J here is the worst. Every request takes 30mins! We requested for service water where it has to be served first when u arrive and waiting but not here we had to request and the water arrived 30mins later. We had to request for spoon and fork. Had to request for the order that was lacking. Had to wait for long to process payment and all these requests. Very poor customer service how did this city become a city of love?

Lots to do while hanging out. If you travel here in Iloilo City, this has always been a nice site to visit with your family and friends. There are several fast food restaurants and dinning establishments. In their South Wing and North Points, there is moreover a snack kiosk. In general, the Mall is enormous, and the cinema underwent a fantastic comprehensive makeover.

Guimbal Church is situated by the highway of Guimbal, Ilo-Ilo, and can easily be recognized because of its unique façade. After my visit at Miag-Ao Church, I traveled around 30 minutes to Guimbal. According to my research, Guimbal Church or St. Nicholas of Tolentino Church doesn’t have any record to when I was erected or established, however, it was completed between 1769 and 1774 under Friar Juan Campos. In 1893, it was further enlarged but later destroyed by fire during the Revolution in 1896 to 1898. 07/2013

Guimbal Church is one of the oldest churches in Iloilo. It's also known as San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish Church. The Church is facing the beautifully landscaped plaza and adjacent to the national highway. It's located in higher ground that elevates the Church from the plaza. It has a yellowish color sandstone that standout from the rest of the neighboring modern structures like the town hall. Inside the Church, its center aisle is made of marble mosaic pieces. A beautiful Church indeed.
