Beautiful well preserved. Be prepared for bugs around the marsh but the beach was okay.

Beautiful bronze sand beaches with crystal clear blue water! I went with family end of August and it’s the most beautiful place i’ve ever been. It reminds me of Outer Banks 🌊

Beautiful trail with lots of wildlife. The marsh was pretty serene.
The beach at the end of the trail is nice and sandy with lots of birds and butterflies.
The current in the lake is pretty strong.
Bring bug repellent! There are tons of black flies!

Beautiful woods for a walk: hiking trails, observation decks for birds, beach
Cara R-N — Google review
Very cool location, lots of interesting Carolinian species of plants and animals. Quiet beaches and a nice hike down to the end of the point - which is the southernmost inhabited place in Canada.
Patrick Jackson — Google review
The trail needs some maintenance but it only took me 10 minutes to get to the beach. Part way to the beach there were little flags leading through the bush that takes you to the easy part of the beach to walk out to the point. Not much parking either.
Jan Frech — Google review
The trails have been pretty much destroyed due to rising lake levels. If you are looking for an easy walk through the forest this is not the place for you. If you are outdoorsy, have long pants on and bug spray proceed. There is only on trail option as the beach trail is under water. When you get to the big red flag turn right and follow the little flags on the forest floor.

Had a great guided bird walk with Rob Tymstra. Walked to the point via west shore beach. Start of the annual migration, so lots of different birds.
Vernon Taylor — Google review
Very beautiful and serene. Seeing the great egrets was so amazing alongwith the raw beauty of the entire place. I want to go back when everything is in full bloom and really witness the flora and the fauna.

Nice little walk through the trees! Take a right following the path with the little orange flags to get to the point ! Then a long walk along the beach! Lots of beautiful big yellow butterflies 😍
Paige Kosik — Google review
A great place for a short but scenic hike. The trail brings you through a forest that borders on breathtaking marshlands, & finally out onto the beach. The point is beautiful!! Beach is sandy for lounging, but rocky shores so bring water shoes if you plan to swim.
What a hoot! Seeing Pelee Island by golf cart is definitely the way to go. This wasn’t in our original plans but when we found out that only pedestrian passage was still available on the ferry we thought “why not?”. The staff are attentive and you get a simple orientation before you start. This is a test market for the use of golf carts on roadways, and everyone on the island seems to want this to succeed. Big smiles from the very few vehicles we encountered.
Gordon Smith — Google review
We called several times with no response. Left a voicemail or two and had no returned calls. Disappointing since there is literally no way to travel the island realistically by foot.
Michelle Amborski — Google review
This was our first trip to Pelee Island. We booked ahead and we were met.at the dock and taken to our accomodations. We then went on a tour of the entire island and learned about the history. It was surprising what rich historical past the area has and it's very interesting. Then we took a hike at Fish Point and then we went to dinner .the shuttle was there the whole weekend for us. The island is bigger and more remote than we imagined and we were thrilled we pre booked this service.
Marcy Berg — Google review
I went with my wife and another couple and we had a great time. We brought our car on the ferry and it was so easy to explore the island. We had a great time at the winery on the island. We wanted to go to the Taco Shack but ended up at the Stonehouse 1891 and had some delicious beers and food.
Alex Milosavlevic — Google review
Not really a cab service, we read online that we could get a cab anywhere on the island for $20 flat rate, we went there expecting to have this service as a source of transportation aswell as our bikes. Horrible customer service, she sounded annoyed when we called on the phone, and were not able to got a ride in 3 days despite calling multiple times.
Amber Fabok — Google review
Great people. They don't typically do a cab service, but helped out our group of 10 get to the ferry in time 😁 $5/person for the trip

What an amazing and affordable way to see the island and learn about the history of the island! The tour guide was very informative and took us to spots that you would miss if riding a bicycle for the day! It was a great way to see the entire island. We made many stops at unique spots where we were able to get out and take pictures and learn more about the area. I brought my husband, mother, and mother-in-law and we had such a great time. They finish off the tour at Pelee wine pavilion where 3 free tastings are provided and a wine tour if you would like. The tour bus will come back to pick you up if needed to be back at the ferry on time. It was only a short walk so we walked back to the ferry and had time to stop at the Old Stone House for lunch before heading home! Thank you for a great experience! We will definitely be back! Also a very special thank you to the new owners who honoured a free tour for two that I had won from the previous owners! It was very much appreciated! Keep up the great work!

Beautiful, small park with a short boardwalk / trail to the beach through wetlands. The beach is a mix of pebble and sand, bordered by gorgeous mature deciduous trees and thick undergrowth to the west and lake Erie to the east. At the end of the beach (about 800 meters from the trailhead) is the lighthouse. We were delighted to see five (5!) large snakes in the bushes near the lighthouse, only one of which seemed at all disturbed by our presence. This would be a nice beach to linger on for a while (but note that there are no facilities nearby).
Sara Supple — Google review
A view of Lake Henry to the west as you enter the Reserve. A new path with a short walk through the woods to one of the island's prettiest beaches and it's iconic lighthouse.
Catherine Miller — Google review
I visited Pelee Island after season and basically the entire beach was just for me. I was at the lighthouse more than an hour all by myself, which was great since I had the time to take pictures without rush.
If you are near Detroit area o Windsor, ON., this is a great plan for the weekend. The trip on the ferry was awesome and the views... just wow.
Visit the Lighthouse and parking is free, but getting to the island is around 40 usd with your car included.
Jonatan Rueda — Google review
It's a good half a kilometre walk from the designated parking area so be prepared for a good walk through some dense marshlands under a broadwalk

What a fun place to see!! Short walk from where we had to park the bikes but was enjoyable to see!
Heather Deal — Google review
If you're afraid of snakes, walk along the beach to get to the lighthouse from the parking lot. The trail has many snakes and turtles to see, which is great if you like wildlife. Saw a few people scream and run back along the trail, which just disturbs the wildlife.
Terence Pais — Google review
About a 10 minutes walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse. There is a nice beach to walk along before you get to the lighthouse. It's locked so you can't go inside.

Beautiful walk up the beach to the lighthouse. Mind the water snakes coming up the shore.
Point Pelee National Park is a small but scenic area located at the southernmost tip of Canadian mainland that features numerous beaches and opportunities for observing birds and butterflies. The park's location on a migratory bird path makes it an ideal spot to view various species of winged creatures, including Monarch butterflies. Visitors can stroll along boardwalks in the marshes, climb lookout towers for breathtaking views, or relax on sandy beaches.
Went for the 2022 birding festival. It was amazing. Park is really well kept. There are active conservation projects ongoing within the park, which is nice to see. All the staff were amazing. It's about 9$ per person to gain access for the day. 2 shops. They sell small snacks (chips candy etc) and cold drinks, so you need to pack a lunch for yourself. Nice clean bathrooms. Our guided tours for the birding festival were AMAZING. The tour guides were so so friendly and knowledgeable. Would 100% book those again.

Amazing park! Marsh and trails full of cute frogs and turtles, pretty water lily and lots of birds. Great for bird watching, make sure to bring binocular. Another spectacular site is the top of Canada, surrounded by water from 3 directions, almost feels like at the edge of another dimension. Really worth visiting. Great restaurant nearby for fresh water yellow perch, and definitely recommend spend a day in the park. Amenities are clean and very convenient, free shuttle bus to the tip is frequent. 5/5!
Susan Wang — Google review
The Southern-most point on the Canadian mainland is worthy of a full day trip. The marsh boardwalk is amazing and best enjoyed when the sun is not overhead. The "tip" is fascinating and a great place to watch the sapphire water and lots of birds. And if you can stay late, it becomes a star-gazers paradise.
Amit Walia — Google review
Great weekend getaway!! It is the Southern most tip of Canada. Spent almost half a day here walking around and enjoyed the fresh air.
Shuttle service is available to the tip and is frequently operated for every 10 to 15 minutes. Well marked trails. The Tip tower is closed for some reason.
A lot of bird migration happens here in the park and it is a birder’s paradise.
Serene and peaceful National park and would definitely go back again.
Rajesh Sudi Reddy — Google review
This is the southern most point of mainland Canada, with beautiful beaches, trails, and a marsh boardwalk. And there’s so much to do, it’s the perfect place for kayaking, bird watching, trail hiking, having a picnic in the summer, or just going for a drive. For me summer is always nice to enjoy the fresh air and the scenery.
Henry Brandt — Google review
Park is huge. There were webs of caterpillars scattered throughout the park ,blanketing the trees. It was very strange to see the density and quantity in the park. Very beautiful greenery. Arrived at the visitor center, very fun viewings and exhibits. Free shuttle to the main attraction of the Ontario 'tip'. It was a short walk to the point where you take a pic and move on as tourists are in a constant rotation.
I loved the park, the extensive shoreline and beach scenery but I absolutely hated one major thing: the flies, the swarming insects that bombard you like they are protecting the park from human intruders. It was so bad ,no amount of repellent prevented their never ending attacks. Had to cut the trip short around that area. Still worth the trip. There are other park spaces to explore..one area in the marshes was very nice.Lots of birds and you can rent a canoe in groups or solo. Won't return but I am glad I experienced the park.

One of my favorite parks! This park never disappoints. Travelling by bike is a great way to see it all. Lots of parking options if you are driving and looking for hiking routes. Birdwatching and photographers love coming here too. There is something for everyone! Plan to spend the whole day to enjoy it all. If you want to avoid the crowds, come in the morning.
Louis Cormier — Google review
Loved every bit of it. The lake looks marvelous, and the lakeside wind will definitely put a smile on your face. Refreshing and soothing. The beaches are nice, too. There is a marshland where you can do a boardwalk. One downside is that you won't have a great signal once you are around the visitor center. But it's fine in other parts of the park.
Anurata Hridi — Google review
Beautiful National park. Rented Kayaks at Peele Wings shop. Very friendly staff. Lots of trails for hiking ( very easy trails)…biking or driving around. You pay at the main gate and drive in. To get to the tip you need to walk ( about 1km). Spotting Bald Eagle was very cool at the marsh area.
Navin Beharry — Google review
We were really lucky to get the best weather in August 2023 as Canada got the majority of rain during the summer months!
We drove right up to the visitor center and took the mini train to "The Tip." The train ride is not only cute but super scenic 😍
It's around a 10 - 15-minute walk (depending on your speed) right to the end, and yes, it's truly nature's wonder seeing blue waters on both sides as you walk the stretch of sand. The west waters are more aggressive, while the east side is calm. So if you stop on the beaches marked along the way, choose the one on the east side.
Once back at the visitor center, we were able to catch the snake show at the auditorium. They have a cute little gift shop in there and a small discovery center for kids to explore around. The washrooms are clean and well maintained. A must visit for all!!

Very beautiful park. I went there last summer, and it was worth it. It’s very peaceful and we actually saw a deer! There is a diverse variety of plants, and the beach was awesome. The museum was also very interesting. Clean bathrooms. Took some great pictures at the tip. 👍 recommend

Great park to visit. Lots of spots to have a picnic or lay on the beach and gaze across the horizon. The 'tip' is the main attraction but was a great family and cycling destination too. Also go for a quick stroll through the Marsh.

Great way to experience nature.. wonderful marshes and natural landscapes. The marsh boardwalk has benches along where one can enjoy different facets of the flora and fauna.
Pelee point itself is cool being the southern most tip of the country.
Would love to go back to do the trails the next time

What an absolutely beautiful national park! 100% worth visiting. Unfortunately I could only stay for a few hours, but I could have easily spent the entire day here. There are hikes (I don’t think they’re very challenging), picnic areas, swimming beaches, and lots of other activities to do. I loved going to the tip area, and the scenery was just incredible. I also love the range of sceneries you can get at this park, to Sandy beaches and rough waves to just kilometres of marsh (highly recommend the marsh boardwalk, by the way). If you’re ever in the area BE SURE to visit!!!
Tristen Huang — Google review
Great place to visit and must see to put in bucket list, we had a great time, we were 5 so we paid parking and group day pass for 16 dollars,. We drove until the visitor center. Ride the bus to go to the tip, it runs every 15 minutes or you can hike to reach the tip. There are clean washroom and lots of picnic tables.

Magical Lake side park location and one of the most beautiful yet most underrated parks in Ontario!
It's a large park with many small destinations for you to look for, varying from camp sites to beaches to nature reserves. And the nature reserves (wetlands) area is a must-go! It features a long floating bridge/track to walk into the wetlands and enjoy what it has to offer. Because it's a nature reserve, you can see birds, swans, insects (not the ones that bug you). There's also an observation deck to check on the whole area, amazing!
The other famous attraction from the park the the point of course, which is where the park get its name from. So I heard it has a nickname "Ontario's Maldive". I'd say it definitely live up to it (aside from the fact that you cannot get into the water because of generous tides). Taking the park's own tram takes you to the southern most pit of Ontario, which is already a pleasant experience. You'll get the best view to Lake Erie and the shiny sand, all of which give you the vibe of Maldive and tropical scene.
Highly recommended!

We visit Point Pelee once a year and it never disappoints. We go during the week in September and its never too busy. We can always find a spot on either side of the peninsula on the beach to chill with our dogs. The trails are always well groomed and all the facilities are clean. Dogs are welcome (on leash) and the cost for the day is excellent, $7.50 per adult, much better than most conservation areas and tons more to explore. Youth under 17 years of age are Free!
The boardwalk Marsh walk is also very nice and an easy walk for those that may struggle on the trails.

Point Pelee National Park is a natural gem with diverse ecosystems, stunning views, and abundant wildlife. The "Tip" offers breathtaking panoramas. Enjoy birdwatching, serene walks, and canoeing. Don't miss the Marsh Boardwalk. The park's flora is impressive. The Visitor Centre is informative. A must-visit for nature lovers! It’s a long drive from Toronto but totally worth it
Ahmad Karim — Google review
Took a trip to Point Pelee for the day and spent about 6-7 hours here just walking around and enjoying the fresh air, also reading all the historical signs and donated benches from families who have been enjoying the park for generations. It was absolutely beautiful, we did take a moment to dip our feet in the water but of course NOT BY THE POINT!! We found out that it’s actually really dangerous to go anywhere in the water towards the point because of the rapid currents and you can definitely see them from land. I definitely want to come back but with bikes this time! (If it’s not the middle of the summer season bring a long sleeve or jacket, it tends to get really cold and breezy)
Avery Gulecki — Google review
Point Pelee National Park is the southernmost territory of Canada, at about 42th parallel latitude. This is a place with various of plants and animals, especially birds. I saw dozens kinds of birds, even if I visited here in March, I can imagine how exuberant here in summer time.

Got to enjoy Point Pelee for the recent solar eclipse! Awesome park! The staff we're very friendly and they had a great ability to handle the large influx of crowds that day. The park itself is pretty large so we were not able to explore the entire thing, especially with the crowds, but what we did see was beautiful!
Can't wait to visit again to explore the rest!
Matt Borsuk — Google review
I have visited this place for almost 3-4 times and I can't get over it. The most southern end of Ontario at Point Peele is adventurous and thrilling experience where two sides of the same lake meets and creates beautiful waves. Winter conditions might affect hours and view point but its still worth going to observe natural ecosystem.

Have visited here 3 times now and will keep coming back. Shuttle to tip is fun, frequent and pet friendly. The walk back to the visitors center is nice walk. We did three trails that day. Walk to the tip, marsh trail and woodland nature trail, all were well marked and beautiful on a fall afternoon.

We camped this year! We believe we missed the height of the birds this year. It was still a lovely time. We mostly hiked the trails between Camp Henry and the Tip. We have so much more hiking to cover between the gate and the camp!

A great place. Really cool. The southern most point of Canada. It was gorgeous. The staff were friendly. Washrooms were clean. Cute little gift shop. Great museum like space. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because the awesome observation tower at the tip was closed.

Estate winery with varietals like Chardonnay & Merlot, with hands-on tours, food pairings & a shop.
I don't even know how to begin except by saying this experience took my breath away. First, our group didn't really know what to expect. We booked a reservation for 5 through Opentable and was not disappointed. We signed up for a wine tasting and experienced a sensation of flavours. The hostess (Beverly) was extremely kind and enthusiastic. Beverly was very helpful and gave us a great assortment of tastings. From white, to sparkling, rose to red, this winery had it all and the ambience/service to boot. Overall, you cannot miss it, a MUST TRY experience.

We enjoyed live music and pizza in the courtyard.

No wine tours at the moment due to covid but we still got our free samples ! Great service, Michael the wine guy gave us a great explanation of the wines for the samples and he even lined up the wine flights with the bottles for the aesthetics (he knew I’m a shutterbug). Great selection of wines and a scenic picnic area to try the wines outside safely and responsibly :)

Went to the winery for their afternoon tour. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it exceeded all my expectations. For $10+tax, we got a tasting of their sparkling wine. We were able to walk with our wine through the cellar and filtering area. It was really cool to see the behind the scenes although being a weekend, not much was going on. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable of the wine, wine making process, the geography of the area and gave a great Mexican restaurant recommendation. We finished with 3 tastings, and since the bar area was full, we went downstairs and got to sit in a barrel booth which was an added bonus. The value and experience was excellent. Highly recommend. It's is first come, first served. I can comment on their busy season. First Saturday in April there were 4 people on the afternoon tour.

Our party THOROUGHLY enjoyed our visit here. Despite Michael (our fearless wine guide and leader) stating he was new on the job, his recommendations and descriptions were top notch. I told him what I enjoyed in a wine and let him choose all my mines for me to great success. 10/10 would come back again

We dropped by to pick up some wine, noticed the tasting table wasn’t busy so we took the opportunity to try a few before buying. The lady that served us was such a sweetheart. I forgot her name but i will call her chardonnay as that is the wine she recommended in the flight of white wines and she was spot on, we purchased it, amongst a few more. We did a white and res flight of wines and sat outside. This place is so pleasant, staff was great too. One helped me go down the stairs to the patio as i carried my flight of wine as i was nervous not to drop it 😂. We love Pelee wine and will come back. 💕🍷

My star rating is in reference to the food - The only thing I can complain about is the $30 charcuterie box.... I can't express the level of disappointment in this. It was the most expensive item on the menu and we assumed for $30 that should be a great choice for our group of 5 to share and pick at.. But what we got was a lunchable. Please change this, for $30 we expect alot more from this and for it to atleast be on a board of some sort and not a plastic lid..... Otherwise this would be a better review as it was a beautiful day, but all my group can talk about since Sunday was the disappointment in the charcuterie box. I do have to mention Troy though, he was amazing and deserves 5 stars on his own for how he went above and beyond to make our experience great!

Had the personalized pet labels made for 6 red and 6 white bottles. Emailed asking for the Christmas/holiday border themes and text (i.e. Merry Christmas) options to choose from and never got a response. Got the bottles today and they are literally just the photos I sent. Super disappointed. They look cheap and not at all suited for the holidays. Definitely not what the advertisement depicted.

This was my first real winery experience, and it didn't disappoint!! The tour is more than reasonably priced, especially considering you get a delicious sparkling wine to take with you for the tour and then a flight of 4 wine samples of your choosing. The tour guide was absolutely lovely!!!! Patient, knowledgeable and most of all a very simple, kind, down to earth person.
The wine was delicious. The grounds are pretty. The tour is informative without being too long.
I would recommend this experience, 1 million percent. Thank you Pelee Island Winery.

This was our absolute favorite winery that we visited in Canada!
We walked inside to very friendly staff members who were helpful with our questions. We chose to do the tour which also included 4 wine tastings for each person and a souvenir wine glass for $10 a person.
We had Beverly as our tour guide and she was an absolute delight. She was so friendly, informative, and enthusiastic the whole time. She takes you through the process of making and bottling wine, while showing you the barrels and equipment used. During the tour, we tried the empress sparkling Riesling, Lola rose cab franc, swallow tale Pinot Grigio, peele island gewurztraminer, stone and, and semi sweet merlot. We really enjoyed each of these-so much my wife and I decided to each do a separate tasting after the tour!
For their tastings, you are able to choose any 4 from their expansive list. It is $20-$5 goes towards their charity and you get a $15 credit to use in the store after. We chose empress orange gewurztraminer, unoaked Chardonnay, JS Hamilton Pinot Grigio, Vidal ice wine, bourbon barrel baco noir, Thaddeus smith, monarch red and the red ice wine.
We loved the wines so much from this place we ended up buying 9 bottles.
This is an absolute MUST! The wine is just too good.

Had a tasting here, and it was great! I also really liked how a portion of the tasting went to charity, and the remainder was given back as a credit to the store.
I have been a customer of Lee and Maria's for over 4 years now. I absolutely love the quality that they provide with all the produce.
The order process is so simple and the ability to substitute items or skip a week makes things convenient.
I am a fan of supporting local. I enjoy that they send a weekly flyer that provides details on where the produce is currently from, recipes, suggestions on how to keep the produce and fun things for kids club.
Although they have grown over the years, I still have not had any shipping/delivery or quality issues. Every year I look forward to the day my first box will be delivered and today was the day!!
I order the sprout box for my husband, toddler and I and it provides us with everything we need for the 2 weeks. These are the fruits we received this week and I can tell you the quality is much better than in any grocery store I have found.

Weekly produce deliveries are the best and you can do your own add-on's to your order, directly from their store. You can even easily make changes to your box through their weekly text "robit"!

I live next door to this place and they are the worst
Neighbours i have ever had. They let there garbage fly everywhere. They drive on our lawn and make pits with there heavy equipment. That makes me mess up my ability to cut my grass. The owners father tryed to fight me. Then wen he found out I learn to fight he called the cops and hide behind them and this a was at a bar up town. After that Kathy begged me not to say anything. But I’ve asked for a job many times and they said no but still asked me not to say anything. well Kathy I’m telling the world about your market and the people to run it. I expect an apology at least.

Very nice small farm market and local food store. Visited yesterday for the first time and even though it's out of season for produce they had decent offerings. Was more impressed and surprised with their other offerings of local prepared foods including things like, local roasted coffee, hand made gourmet pierogies, veggie burgers, some eco friendly cleaning supplies and many more. Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again.

Outstanding service. Needed green tomatoes for a canning recipe. There wasn't in the store but they were happy to help. They actually went to the field and picked what I needed while I waited. Where are you going to find that?? Thank you so much Lee and Maria's! I will be back

Windsor Riverfront Park is a beautiful narrow parkway that has been enhanced with various features to add to its charm. The park boasts of war memorials, picnic spots, paths for both pedestrians and cyclists, and stunning views of the Detroit skyline. It is an all-season destination as visitors can enjoy the unique beauty it offers in every season; from the superb views during summer nights to hearing the chorus of music created by ice floating on the river in winter.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
My family and I visited Windsor, Ont last summer (Aug 2021). The City did a great job beautifying the narrow parkway, adding little features such as war memorials, a water fountain rock garden with a superb views of Detroit skyline, and so on. Paths were wide enough for both pedestrians and cyclists to share. The best part was during the night.

The Windsor Riverfront treats visitors to magnificent views and extensive walking trails, perfect for enthusiasts. Convenient parking options abound, ensuring easy access. As the sun sets, the scenery transforms into a breathtaking spectacle, making evenings particularly enchanting. Be sure to take a leisurely stroll and fully appreciate the unparalleled beauty of the surroundings—you won't regret it.

Liked the beauty and calmness of the park alongside the Detroit river with a view of Detroit downtown! The best place for walking and cycling in Windsor or doing photography. This is connected to other parks like sculptures park and flowers garden. There are plenty of parking spots too, so you can put it as a destination in the city and go sightseeing!

The riverfront is an iconic spot in Windsor and one of the best spots to spend time alone or with family in summers. The Detroit downtown is beautiful and gives a terrific background for photography lovers. With the ongoing Windsor carnival there is a size-able moving crowd in the evening. We spent time taking pictures and just enjoying the stellar views. Parking can be an issue on busy days but it is also easy to find street parking in general.

It's a pleasant park along the river where you can see Detroit on the opposite bank. There is a fee for the closest parking lot from here.
It looked like it would be a good place to have a picnic when it gets warmer.

Beautiful spot in Windsor. Perfect view of the Detroit skyline. A long stretch of a walk but most satisfying. Place is pretty calm and not crowded when we visited but locals say that it gets busy prior to sunset as it looks like a nice place to watch it. Lots of spots/attractions along the stretch and perfect view if the Ambassador Bridge as well.

The hotel Caesars Windsor is a luxury property with modern facilities, such as an indoor pool and spa, a casino, and restaurants. It is located just across the Detroit River from downtown Detroit, making it easy to explore both cities on your trip.
Rooms are clean, modern, and a good size. the bathrooms have a separate tub and shower and are very nice! Beds are a bit soft so our sleep wasn't the best. But otherwise it was great. The common areas were lovely, clean, and staff were great (with the exception of one snarky barmaid....perhaps she was having a bad day). The casino is terrific - the slots are fun with plenty of new ones.

Honestly the rooms were great. The casino was fun. The only complaint I have, was that the main check-in desk was a long walk from the tower we stayed in. There was very little signage or information given beforehand on how to check in. I ended up lugging bags from a parking garage, through a casino, up stairs, then had to retrace my route just to go back to another tower to my room. Those issues were the only ones. The rooms were very clean. Great views. Elevators always came really quick when called. Comfy bed. My girlfriend loved the heat lamp in the bathroom. The casino has a calm relaxed vibe until about 9pm when the younger crowd comes in, so depending on what you're looking for, plan accordingly. Staff at the casino were super helpful and friendly. I will absolutely come back.

Went and stayed here with my sis. The room was really nice and newly updated. We stayed on the side with just adults (which was perfect). In the room we had a great view, it was clean and the check-in process with really quick. Now checking out was a different experience, the person that checked us out was kinda of rude, but overall, all it was a nice spacious clean casino. It is a mini version of the Caesars in Las Vegas. Nice restaurants and their restaurants that are walking distance restaurants.

We have stayed there twice. The place itself if beautiful. We stay for days when we go. Both times could not get room cleaned. First time they said we had to ask for it. Second time we asked they said they only clean it after 3 days. After 3 days still not cleaned. When I went to call the phone didn't work. It's really disappointing. I clean in myself both times. Had to catch a employee to get towels. I went through hopper the last time terrible view don't do that. The time before Expedia great view. The rooms are clean when you get there. And the place is really pretty.

We went to a show at the casino that our kids bought us tickets for for Christmas. Everything about it was great. We ate dinner at Spago's,went to casino for a while, then on to the show. We paid for valet parking that was so convenient and well run. The dinner was very reasonable and also the parking. We will watch for shows that we want to see and definitely book something again. Absolutely loved the whole experience.

Came here for a show at the Coluseum. Love the entry re entry if you want to go get food before a show. Guest services and security are all very helpful.
Bars move fast and have a nice selection.
Seats are set up nice to face the stage with 2 big screens to show the audience farther away.
I recommend express parking next to the valet and very fast retrieval.
Clean casino floor. A handful of food options but leave some time if you're going to a show.

I am not into gambling, but if I was, I would certainly look to go here. Very friendly and safe establishment and very clean and modern. Tons of machines and tables and best of all, you do not pay taxes on your winnings like in the USA. Love the fact that there is plenty of indoor parking and it is free.

Great clean hotel and room. Friendly staff. Casino and few great bars. Definitely, challenging parking: park and walk to the hotel to the reception on the second floor or use valet. Another minus is linked room to next door room; do not like to have that option and honestly would like to know in advance if the room is linked. Enjoyed my staff and will be back!

My family and I recently went to Casino Windsor for my cousin's 19th birthday party, and we all had a really good time! The casino had many games to play and lots of fun activities for everyone.
We stayed at a nearby hotel that had a comfortable and clean room. The food at the casino's restaurant was delicious, and there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Overall, Casino Windsor was the perfect place to celebrate my cousin's big day, and we all had a blast! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun place to spend a special occasion.

Rooms are clean and comfortable with modern furnishings. Nevertheless, the hotel is surrounded by casino. And casinos have little tricks to try to keep you on the gaming floor, for example, there are no maps of the premises, no pathfinding kiosks. The TVs in the rooms have a guide channel but they’ve left off programming info, they’d rather you not be watching TV. And you know they hide clocks on the game floor. Parking will fill up late on weekends. There are very few shops here, the jewelry vendor is most notable. And relatively few dining options in 2023. Still, I had a nice visit here, and will not hesitate to come back for shows and special events.

Can’t find the main entrance. The signage sucks. We checked in super late (2:30am) only to be woken up just past 9am by house keeping trying to clean our room. Knocked 3 times and I answered and she said I suppose you have a late checkout? I said when is checkout? she said 11! I said that’s in nearly 2 hours what are you talking about. She left after ruining my sleep. You need better communication with the front desk I think. I told the front desk and she didn’t seem to care. The phone in room didn’t work either. Was in charge but wouldn’t hold a charge to call downstairs so I had to use my personal device.

Booked 2 queen bedrooms on the Forum Tower (Luxury River view rooms) for the first weekend in August. Location was great since it was connected to the casino for a couple friends attending the poker tournament. Room itself was nice, large and spacious. Service level however, was disappointing. We requested rooms on high floor with nice views of the river but was assigned rooms on a low floor with a maintenance deck and a big smoke stack right outside the window blocking the view. We arrived and tried checking in just 10 minutes before 3pm (check in time) but was not allowed unless we pay an extra fee to check in 10 minutes early...doesn't make sense at all! To avoid paying this extra fee, we had to line up again after 3 pm when everyone was trying to check in at the same time. Also, when checking in, I asked if there were connecting rooms available (we booked 2 rooms) and was assured no problem and the staff confirmed we were assigned connecting rooms. Well, they were not connected at all once we arrived at the rooms. Anyway, we didn't bother to walk all the way back to Registration to clarify since we were only there for 1 night and simply accepted what was assigned. Honestly, I rather be told up front that no connecting rooms available than being reassured that they were and was assured the views are great but none of this was true when we got to our rooms. For the price paid for these luxury rooms, we expected to be better but somewhat disappointed with the service.

Visited from Detroit. Stayed on a Monday night for best price. Comfortable rooms. Was a bit of a maze to walk inside from the parking garage but when we were leaving someone tipped us that it's easier to just walk across from outside to the lobby rather than snaking thru the casino. One person in our party was 19 and had to show both his ID and US passport to security when going into the casino so make sure to have them both ready and on your person for that. Other than that our stay was a fun night and enjoyed the table games and some slots. Dinner at Legends was great too. Hope to be back soon.

Stayed here while we were in town visiting friends with our your son.
The rooms are beautiful and the beds are quite comfortable, we also had a panoramic view of Detroit which at night you are surprised by how nice it actually is.
when we came to put our son to bed though we we’re extremely disappointed to find out they no longer offer room service, nor are you allowed alcohol in your rooms.
You can go downstairs and get food and bring it back up to your rooms but not alcohol and they banned bringing alcohol from outside. So when the wife and I wanted to relax, wind down and just have a couple drinks and watch a film while our son slept we just couldn’t.
The TV’s also don’t have the ability to cast or airplay from your phone so unless you want to pay their ridiculous prices for rentals you are stuck with standard cable TV which was fine 15 years ago, but not quite what you would expect from a “luxury” hotel in a suite none the less.
Keep that in mind before booking or going upstairs for the evening.

Very fun place, the clubs are fun and the food / shows are good. I recommend playing digital roulette because there is no minimum bet, table is sometimes 25$ minimum.
- dress nicely or they won’t let you in
- bring 2 forms if ID, drivers license and health card works

Spent two nights there. The room was nicely decorated and clean. It was also very quiet and all the staffs we encountered were absolutely wonderful to us. We would recommend the hotel to anyone wishing a great place to stay. Only drawback it's proximity to the slots.

Just stayed our first night there and enjoyed it. Initially finding our way to the self-park lot was a little more challenging than expected, but I probably have to own that myself.
Once we got inside the building the staff was friendly and helpful, but not all that accurate, in helping us navigate to the various places we had to go.
Room was spacious, with a very large bathroom, and also had a great view of the river. On check-in we made reservations at Nero's steak house in the property. That was pretty smooth given that they were busy due to a Russell Peters show in the the building for the night in question. However, when we called Nero's to adjust the reservation we weren't showing up in their system. That lead to a few anxious moments, but they were still able to squeeze us in, in the end.
Enjoyed some time in their pool area too. Spa is currently closed (still due to COVID, I believe), so that was a bit disappointing.
Overall good experience though. Will return.

To be fair it deserves a 4.5 star rating taking into consideration the following. Most likely Caesar's Windsor is the nicest hotel in town. Our room was on the 20th floor and we had a nice view. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was also nice. I should have taken more photos. The town itself has little to do so I'm happy we opted to staying at the casino hotel. The parking is free but there is a resort fee. The service in the casino itself was a little slow to get a gaming card because they needed to amalgamate the card with other properties I had visited in Vegas so that's the only negative thing that happened. Not the fault of the employees, but waiting half an hour for a card is a little much. Food at breakfast was self service but the prices were reasonable and the food was good. The staff all over the casino were nice and helpful.

Finding the valet parking for the hotel was not easy. Hint…. Its the last sign that just says valet. But check in was fast n easy. The rooms are beautiful. The walk to the elevators though … I will be having them come get my bags. I think it was because I had river view. The river view rooms are spacious. Clean with the tub n shower separate. Super windy out so we stayed on site for dinner. Lots of options.

I was denied entry Saturday morning because I had a backpack containing my breast pump. I was told I would need to leave my bag in the car and pump in the parking garage. I ended up just leaving. My understanding is that this isn’t legal seeing how it is a medical device. Is this allowed? I would like to know for next time

I would only recommend this place if you have lots of money. Don't trust online booking, you get redirected to a 3rd party that adds another service charge of $139. I then was put in the wrong tower and while moved me to a new room they added $200 more to my credit card without telling me. And because I didn't want to be further gauged by valet parking I had to park off site and carry my baggage across the street. The rooms are basically just a cleaner version of any hotel with the same plastic cups. No closet even in the room I was in. I gave the extra star only because they were able to move me while still claiming to be fully booked.

The spa is my favorite part, the indoor pool with views of the river is great! Awesome gym, sauna and private showers, they thought of everything!! Highly recommend. Great for a one night getaway to a “foreign” country lol. They also have a list of awesome shows revolving through. Also the buffet is amazing and very vegan friendly with many Mediterranean options. Easy in and out across the border.

Visited to see the Tiffany Haddish show; booked 2 nights. Check-in took over 15 minutes based on some silly tiered member program.
Room was nice and updated, but a bit dusty. The view was good, however, our room had a conjoining door and we found the noise disturbing - called reception at 9:30 pm to request assistance, but the employee Chris refused to address the issue. As he stated that it was not yet 11 pm. By 1 am our neighbors were screaming profanities and asked to leave the hotel. We were woken again by 3:30 am. The hotel staff did nothing to remove these patrons, not address the noise complaint.
The food at Spage was delicious and the portions were generous. We found the resort very walkable, but staff are not well trained to address questions. Their overall service was far too casual. Don't allow the valet parking to convince you that self- parking is inconvenient; it's easy and leads directly to all amenities - save the $20 per day.

Hosts do not follow through with offers/accommodations, granted they left the company before we got there. Aggressive valet experience, filed a complaint, still no resolution. What was supposed to be a great weekend visit, turned out to be just not that. Lots of people holding machines with jackets/coats, one lady had 4 machines blocked and after multiple requests, nothing was done??? Will not revisit, regret going there.....zero resolution to anything....

Two towers with rooms. Right now (early 2024) Augustus Tower is nicer. The views of the ships on the river with the Detroit skyline beyond are great. The casino itself has everything you want. My one lament is the music, which is typical of the Buffalo-Cleveland-Windsor corridor: 1970s retreads (which the locals just can't get enough of no matter how many times they hear, apparently; definitely a regional thing).
Nero's steakhouse is worth getting a reservation or, if you luck out, you might score a seat at Nero's bar.
Outside, taking a walk along the riverfront is a great way to get some sun and fresh air while enjoying the views.
Parking is free and easy, but be prepared to walk because you have to cross the property to get to the Augustus Tower. Alternatively, the valet gives you the option of eliminating the walk (nice attendants and responsive service).

Desk assistant manager has a terrible attitude. We ended up canceling our room because she was so very rude. The hotel staff then charged our two different cards a debit card and credit card on file for the full amount. When asked about it they just said it would come back on our card. But we would be without those funds for 3-5 days is unacceptable. I will not be returning to this place and will spend my money elsewhere.

We visited the casino (our first time) and had dinner at Legends.
The casino is very clean and staff is very friendly.
Legends food was good. Prices were reasonable. Our waiter was super nice and efficient.
Edit: after looking at the reviews, I noticed the Casino only seems to respond to positive reviews and does not address the poor reviews. It's seems the biggest complaint is the check-in desk and housekeeping. I'm wondering if our planned return visit for a night may be a mistake. 🤔

Beautiful casino. Clean, stylish rooms. We actually had an accessible room (we didn’t know until we entered the room) and it was very spacious and had a walk in shower and a bathtub. We did not have a view, we where given an option, but we decided on a no view. No big deal to us.
The only complaint I have is that we entered the casino/hotel enter an e through the parking garage with suitcases, bags etc and we had to walk too far as in threw the casino up an escalator to get to the check out. Then back all the way through again. No big deal but luggage carts or something should be offered. Our bags were heavy and I can only imagine elderly people having to do the same.
But we are very happy with our stay and we decided to come back in a months time.

I can tell you that this casino has zero respect for their players. They don’t care how much money or trine you spend in their establishment. We are regular players (seven star) and even though we spend more time there than their staff, we get treated very poorly. I highly recommend going anywhere else, Detroit is minutes away… And they have 3 casinos that treat their players so much better!!! So steer clear of Caesars Windsor, and go elsewhere!!! Also found a dirty fork with cake icing on it in our room, next to the bed. Gross,
The Guardian Building is a seminal Art Deco skyscraper in Detroit that was completed in 1929. The striking interior features colorful inspirations from First Nations and Aztec cultures, leaning on an artistic vibe that's not always expected of a financial center. The building is a National Historic Landmark and one of the finest examples of art deco architecture in the world.
I visited on 2/11/22. The beautiful architecture makes this one of my favorite FREE things to do in Detroit. I'll be honest, when googling "things to do around Detroit" I didn't have this high on my list only because I didn't understand the appeal, but I soon found that pictures don't do it justice! This is a must see if you are in the area, and it is free!

This is an amazing building circa 1928 that’s still gracefully intact. Amazing architecture style outside. Inside the main hall is a beautiful full length wall painted mural including the demographic map areas of Michigan. On each lower side of the mural you’ll see painted depictions of the agricultural and industrial aspects of what Michigan was built from.
The entry atrium has amazing perfectly matched geometric colorful patterns. A must see building done in art deco; beautiful inside and out!

This is an absolutely beautiful building. From the outside to the inside. We happened to have fate on our side to arrive in the breathtaking lobby exactly at noon on Sunday - just in time for a free tour given by Melissa at CityTour Detroit which got my friends and I exclusive access to: the original boardroom which was really beautiful and so well designed. We saw the views from one of the top floors, which was an amazing way to see the city. Which I think they said is available to rent, which us genius because itd make an incredible venue. We were also given a tour of the original vault in the basement, which was super cool and creepy. Without the tour you only have access to the lobby and first floor which is totally worth the stop but if you're around on the dates the tour is available check the times and 100% do it that way. You can ask questions, and if you're like me and love architectural design, you can just take in all the intricate details and beautiful artistic interjections. It's like The Great Gatsby, but make it indigenous. 10/10

It is a perfect example of the Art Deco style. They are very accommodating in allowing you into the ground floor lobby. It's is amazing

After all the years of both being in Detroit and coming to Detroit, I realize that there are plenty of things that I still haven’t seen. I can now cross the Guardian building off that list. I actually came down yesterday to see the MLK statue. I ended up finding parking on Fort St, so when I walked down Griswold towards the water, I found myself immediately outside this beautiful work of art. I also was not aware that they host tours on Sundays. When I walked into the gift shop, the lady working told me they started a little bit ago if I wanted to join in, so I did. It was a nice little tour. I enjoy both history and old artistic construction. I highly recommend checking it out.
Andiamo Detroit Riverfront is an upscale bistro situated in the GM Renaissance Center, offering a sophisticated ambiance and stunning views of the river. This traditional Italian restaurant has been serving authentic northern Italian cuisine since 1989 and boasts an intimate dining space with a romantic atmosphere. Their menu features housemade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, fresh seafood, premium dry-aged meats, and indulgent desserts.
Andiamo Riverfront is my favorite restaurant. I used to come here with my dad growing up. The food is always free, the service is top notch, and the views are unmatched. I recently cane here this past holiday season with my extended family. They were able to accommodate all of us. All the food we ordered was delicious, and the area we sat was really lovely as they decorated it for the holidays. My favorite was the champagne, they have several available including my favorite. Overall, lovely experience.

Love this restaurant. I have been there before but this was my first time since the pandemic began. Food and services both are excellent. Recently went there for my birthday dinner and our server Z was really great . All the dishes she suggested were really great. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I went to celebrate my mom's 89th birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. Mike H. Is an exceptional server and made my mom feel special. My mom isn't easy to please when it comes to dining out and enjoyed everything. The chicken on the 5 pepper pasta could stand alone on a dish by itself. Very flavorful, I didn't need to add anything additional to my dish and that's the hallmark of a great chef.

This was our second time coming here and both times Alex was our waitress and she was amazing! She’s considerate and goes out of her way to make her customers happy and comfortable. The manager personally came out to check on us as well, which shows how much he cares about his patrons. The food is incredible and cooked to perfection and Alex just topped off the evening!

It takes special skills to ruin scallops but at Andiamo they did it! The Cajun-style blackening resulted in the worst scallops I have ever had. I made some frozen scallops at Trader Joe’s m, sautéed on butter with some lemon that tasted way better than this. All I could taste from Andiamo’s scallops was the weird overwhelming “blackening” seasoning that totally ruined the natural sweet flavor of the scallops. BTW The less desirably natural flavor of the escargots were similarly drowned by a garlicky buttery tomato sauce, but I didn’t mind that! But the scallops! RIP! The chefs should rethink their approach and bring the natural flavors out of their ingredients rather than imposing some conflicting weird seasoning on them. Especially scallops, the best-tasting seafood that is really hard to screw up. Here they managed to do it. Two stars because the mushroom soup was quite tasty!

Andiamo at the Detroit Riverfront is an Italian fine dining restaurant in the Ren Cen building. They have other locations in the suburbs as well. We’ve been to the Bloomfield Twnsp on previous travels and we were happy to see a location in the Ren Cen where we were staying.
Food is very fresh, delicious and pastas are made in-house. Jordan our server was friendly and offered excellent suggestions of specialty seasonal items that weren’t on the menu.
We started with the calamari that was accompanied by a homemade tomato sauce that had fresh cut basil chiffonades (mini julienne type slice strips). Our salads both house and Caesar were on chilled plates and tasted nice.
We then had the seafood Alfredo. Jordan recommended to have the seafood grilled vs sautéed as it would taste amazing. It was devine! The fresh grilled scallops were huge and cooked perfectly. The shrimps had a Cajun like taste and married nicely with the creamy Alfredo. The generous sweet meat lobster tail was accompanied with warm drawn butter. We also had the Veal Milanese which was lightly breaded, tender and flavorful with roasted potatoes and green beans.
We were so full and although the desert selections looked amazing, we wanted something light. I asked Jordan if they had spumoni ice cream. He didn’t disappoint! That was the best spumoni ice cream I’ve had in ages. Beautiful flecks of kirsch cherry, chocolate ribbons and other bursts of flavor was perfect.
Great place for any occasion or just to treat yourself. Authentic fresh Italian flavors abound! Grazi Andiamo for a beautiful meal!

A special event was being held the evening. We might have thought twice had we known as we had to eat in the back in a room with no windows, which was noisy. However, the food was excellent and our server made up for it. We enjoyed the pasta bolognese...and lasagna. We also had creme Brule and caramel cheesecake, both were thes best by far wr have had locally.
We definitely enjoyed our meals

I went and sat at the bar with my friend to have Happy hour specials. The best shrimp pasta I had. The calamari appetizer was on point too, as well as the cocktails. My friend enjoyed her lambchops as well. The bartender made delicious cocktails and always checking on us. I didn't have a high expectations out of a restaurant in the hotel but I was wrong.

Had dinner with two business associates last night and everything was spectacular. Our servers was Talesha and she was top notch. She knows the menu, inside and out, is attentive, obervant, and brings top notch energy. To start we went with the the sausage and peppers (Peperoni Ungheresa alla Rustica) appetizer. This was absolutely amazing. The sausage and peppers were cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavor. I ordered the 8oz filet cooked medium which came with green beans, Italian potatoes and their signature zip sauce. The steak was cooked perfect, tender, and tasted amazing. Each of us ordered dessert, which included their season cheesecake (peanut butter and jelly), creme brule, and cannoli. Let's just say we cleaned all three plates!! Even though this place is expensive, it's definitely worth it and we will be back.

I planned my mother a 55th birthday celebration here at this location. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Super helpful to make my mom’s day as special as possible. For larger parties, they do make you put down a deposit and you can only use one credit card per party. Everyone who came enjoyed themselves and live band was very interactive with our group. My only critique was our server. He was nice, but not very accommodating. I understand it was a busy night and we had a large party but they should allow him to take care of only one party at a time if it’s too overwhelming. He did not thoroughly explained the menu, and how the pricing work, which caused a lot of confusion but overall we figured it out, and the meal was great and experience was even better.

Greektown, situated in Detroit, Michigan, is a bustling commercial and entertainment hub located just northeast of downtown. It boasts a rich history as the settlement area for Greek immigrants in the early 20th century. Despite the community's relocation in later years, Greektown has preserved its distinctive character with numerous Greek restaurants and coffeehouses that continue to draw visitors.
Belle Isle is an island in the Detroit River and home to attractions such as the Belle Isle Aquarium, Conservatory, Nature Center, and Beach. In addition to its recreational areas, it's also a place where maritime history is remembered with exhibits at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. Named for Revolutionary War general James Belle, it was opened to the public in 1882.
This is the most amazing park. It's pretty large and I suspect that it is busy in the warmer months. We had gone in March. We had a wonderful time at the museums. There is a lot of room to find a good spot to hang out for the day. There are plenty of grills, picnic tables, and places to sit. The views of Detroit and Canada are very good. It's pretty easy navigating around the park. You'll figure it out after driving around for a bit.

Belle Isle has been a go to place for me and my family since childhood. Events there are spectacular, especially enjoy the kite festival, the beach, the driving range, fishing, photography, athletic fields, and so much more. If you’re ever looking for something to do, you can’t go wrong taking a couple laps around the island. Enjoy scenic views, soak in the nature. Experience a little bit of Up North right in our urban city. Since the state of Michigan took it over from the City of Detroit that has progressed by leaps and bounds.

Beautiful park and clean. I took a Uber to reach the entrance but you can also walk and crossed the bridge. It's 1h+ walking from downtown (let's say starting at Monument "The fist') You can rent a bike $18 for 2h (be careful of the sense of circulation) there is a beach where you can swim. I couldn't visit an aquarium and the garden.

The state has been working really hard to spruce this park up and it shows. They are adding more and more to the gardens each year, renovating the flower house, and other projects. It’s a fun place to picnic, watch freighters go by, or take a hike. There’s also an aquarium, a nature center, and a museum.

Good spot for family trips on nice days. Knocked off one star b/c often I smell weed in the parking lot near the playgrounds. It's not teenagers smoking, usually the parents. I don't know if the park can do anything about it (doubt it), aside from that it's a great place.

I honestly can't believe I've lived 30 minutes from here most of my life. I now live in Indiana and I was visiting family and decided to check it out. It was beautiful. Went during the week it wasn't crowded but everything was closed which kinda sucked but the beach was nice and we went for a nice walk. Bathrooms kinda gross though. Atleast at the beach.
Rondeau Provincial Park, an historic park featuring a visitor center, boat launch, and a dog beach alongside picnic areas, campsites and trails. The park boasts of a barrier-free trail that offers hikers an up-close look at the beautiful old-growth Carolinian forest with towering tulip trees and various rare southern species such as Sassafras and Shagbark Hickory trees.
Spent 5 days here in July. We loved that you can walk to beach from campsites or you can drive and park at entrances along the beach. Beach was very clean and has a long shoreline so you can easily find a spot away from people. We drove to the dog beach it is a little bit of a drive but we stopped at visitor Center along the way. Lots of rocks but it was empty and water was clean.
Visitor Center was a Great spot to take the kids to see a few turtles and learn about native wildlife.
Park store sells ice cream which is also walking distance from some sites. Kids loved walking to get ice cream as a treat.
Definitely recommend this park for camping with young children. Only downfall is that the playground was far from campsites and needs to be updated

Long beach with clean water and fine sands; camping facilities are clean and good maintained; even though the privacy of camp site not that good, I still like this park. Especially the long trail from camp area to Tulip Tree Trail, you can enjoy a such peaceful scenic route whatever you are biking, hiking or rollerblading. If you like more, you can keep going from Tulip Tree to South Point Trail(Friendly reminder, lots of hungry mosquitoes are waiting for you in this trail, make sure you are ready for yourself and family members (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و).

Peaceful and lovely park to camp on Lake Erie. Only a short walk to a long and beautiful sandy beach that has a large shallow area so suitable for young children, I like they have specify beach access for campers so is easier to avoid a big crowd. The comfort station and showers are very clean and well maintained. The only downside is we went there during rainy days . So the number of bugs and mosquitos were a little too much to handle compared the campgrounds we'd been to.

Our favourite Provincial Park, we were there today so we could watch the eclipse from the beach. We pre-booked a day pass slot, thinking it might be busy, and we were glad we did. The park was full and those without booked slots were being turned away. The line up to get in wasn't too bad, and the people on the gate were super friendly. Once in the park, I was surprised to find plenty of parking available, and although the beach was busier than I've ever seen, it takes a lot of people to make 12Kms of sand look full up so it was quite comfortable. There was a cold north easterly wind blowing which made it quite cold on the beach, but I guess I can't fault the park for that. A great day out, and I'm glad we went. The photo was taken during totality.

Really enjoyed this past weekend adventures at Rondeau Provincial Park. Our dog enjoyed swimming and playing with other dogs at the dog beach. The hikes were short and nicely groomed for a leisure stroll through the forest. 1st night the stars were absolutely stunning at the campgrounds. We were a bit early for the bird 🐦 migrations but did see a fair number of smaller birds. Well kept and everyone wore a mask before entering the washroom facilities. We will visit again next year.

Fantastic Park
We have visited this park a few times.
Many nice flat trails nothing strenuous.
Nice beaches! Dog beach is rough though very rocky and water is rough the day we went.
Other beach points are beautiful.
Beaches are quite always from campsites. Prepare for a long walk or must drive or bike.
My grand kids love this park. As it has beach on one side and Rondeau Bay on the other side. They like exploring close to shore looking for critters.
Most Campsites not very private, any of them.
Some in fact have absolutely no privacy, to say poor is an understatement, should say none.
But still they are nice and clean.
The birding migration in the spring was worth the trip. We didn’t go on the weekends so we missed some specific tours but we did follow a guide out one of first days which was very helpful. Next time I think another day would be good as we are newbies. He was very very informative. I had 10x50 binoculars to difficult to spot any birds. I have since purchased 8x42 ( on the recommendation of our guide ) and oh what a difference. Wish I had them for our trip.
You can rent canoes in the area which is a nice little excursions along the shore of Rondeau Bay especially since Marsh Trail is closed. We saw Green Heron, water snakes and many other birds. So peaceful.
The small Visitors center is fun. They have a few turtles and a wall of the different kids of trees the have in the park and a nice indigenous section. Informative.
The have programs too. Check website for updates on those.
A nice well kept clean park.
And a friendly and helpful staff!

Well maintained park with camping and cottages. Lots of trails, great for biking, and many beach access points. The wildlife museum is a must see, and there are shops (inside and just outside park) for items you forgot to pack, ice, household items and hand scooped ice cream. There's a fee for entrance into the park. Our family has owned at cottage here since the 1940s, when Rondeau offered horse stables, a dance hall, mini golfing as well as other activities (there is still a sailing club). But now it's more of a nature park that really doesn't change much from year to year. Always do a tick check when coming back from outdoor activities!

A beautiful park with well-maintained facilities and very friendly staff and campers. The area's hospitality is fantastic, and make sure to stop by the park store for some ice cream as they have a great selection. The restaurant is also excellent, with delicious strips, fries, and more. Don't forget to visit the Bayview Market outside the park, where you can find a small LCBO, lots of baked goodies, and a shop that sells last-minute forgotten supplies. Parking is conveniently located near the beach area and is easily accessible with plenty of space for your gear. However, it is advisable to bring lots of bug spray as the black flies and mosquitoes can be vicious. This is not the park's fault, though. The campsites are spacious but lack shade, so plan for a tent for shade. Overall, it's a fantastic park to camp with your family.

Rondeau Provincial Park is a hidden gem in Southwestern Ontario. The Lake Erie portion of the park offers beautiful beaches and sweeping horizon. The Rondeau Bay side of the park has sheltered water for water sports and fishing. In between is a wonderful stretch of unique land to discover native plants and animals, go birding, hiking, and camping.
The campgrounds are well-maintained, with clean bathrooms and excellent shower facilities. Walking/Biking paths connect camping to both bodies of water, the playground, and the camp store. In the center of the park, the Visitor's Center offers a wealth of information, as well as the chance to interact with local animals and fish.

If you are looking for beach glass you won't find much here, but the walk along the water is very calming. The water is clear on most days. Being able to experience a storm front on the lake is worth the price of admission! Lots of bike/walk trails throughout. Facilities are always clean and well stocked. There are family friendly pavilions to enjoy a meal together, boat launches, a well stocked retail space and friendly staff members everywhere! The venue is in the middle of downtown, and parking is very difficult to acquire. Accessible parking is at the back of the building you then have to go up the side of the building to get in(in the cooler weather or if it's windy the walkway is like a wind tunnel). The entrance is on an incline, and often, staff stands at the top to take your ticket, so if you have someone with mobility challenges or in a wheelchair the incline makes it challenging to interact with the staff and keep anyone with mobility challenges stable.

A fantastic little theatre downtown Chatham. Very friendly staff. Standard seating (may be uncomfortable for larger people, arm rests in between each seat). Ample leg space. Very clean throughout. I've been to a few shows and each time I have been fairly impressed. There is a refreshment bar, a tall can of Sona of Kent was $7 and a bottle of coke $3 (not bad in my opinion). I would recommend they not allow people into the theatre after a certain time. At the last show I attended it was hard to focus on the performance, as there were people still filing in, continuously for a good 20 minutes after the show began.

I went to the Choir! Choir! Choir! Fleetwood Mac show. About ½ of the seats were empty. It was cold in the theatre. The performers asked the audience to stand for far too long, so if you sat (which I needed to due to back pain) it was difficult to see past the standing people to read the lyrics projected on the stage.

My first impression of Kingston Park Chatham Ontario was that it is a water park extraodinaire. It has water spouts, water falls and a series of sprinklers that on a super hot day..you sit in the middle and cool off. They also have gazebos for out of the storm picnic areas that will sit 50 peeps easy. The park has real intriquit climbing equipment with soft landing pads at the bottom of slides and under swings..which they have plenty of. You really have to see it in person(see photos). At the top of the hill is a rest room area and an administration partition. That os one side of the park. The other side is more for adults. There is stainless steel exercise equipment and a series of path walkways, large green areas and benches all around(see videos). The only park that I've been to that is as impressive is East Park London Ontario. Kingston Park was made for every event and tons of summer time cool refreshing fun. You won't regret it for a moment. Luv Malcom💪😎💙Stay strong Chatham.

Born and raised in Chatham so I've seen this park transform over the last few decades. I love the walking path, splash pad, equipment (especially the stuff dedicated for disabilities), pavilions, hill...etc.
My kids have all enjoyed this park and as for the park itself I cannot find any faults except for this statue. All of my kids are really uncomfortable with it and it's not hard to see why.
The adult lion is holding a cub in its paw. It is a statue but the cub gives the appearance that it is lifeless and the facial expression of the adult lion appears mournful.
I don't know who picked this statue but it should be replaced. I know several artists in CK that would love the opportunity to donate their work so there would be no cost to the community other then removal and installation to codes.
I have spoken to a few other parents from the kids groups my kids have gone to and more then not this is the opinion everyone shares. A couple of them have stopped bringing their kids because of how upset it's made their kids. Other parents have done what we do, when we go we park away from it, avoid walking by it and don't go to the equipment around it. Even more upsetting a few of the parents that have rainbow babies feel triggered by this statue.
I truly hope CK parks can replace it. It's a know your audience moment.

Three different play areas with equipment for all ages. Playground is clean. So much room to play and run around. Covered pavillion, restrooms and a splash pad.

Kingston park is one of the few truly family locations in Chatham. With 3 playgrounds, a summer splash pad, an excellent walking track, a well-maintained collection of fitness equipment, and a lot of green space, there is space for everyone of all ages.
Parking is spacious. The picnic pavilions are large, with ample garbage disposal in both pavilions. The public restrooms are well maintained and centered in the space, so accessible from everywhere.

This park is great for family gatherings, social events working out among other activities. The kids love playing on the various playgrounds and in the splash pad and the washrooms/change rooms are generally very well kept for being a public place. 10/10

Great park with lots of different areas for kids to play. A bit on the larger side, so it can be hard to watch your kids if they move around a lot. The water park stopped around 2pm, not sure if they take breaks for the water, but it was a nice opportunity to cool down inside in the air conditioning. We will definitely go back again!

Awesome park! So many picture backdrops, gorgeous pavilions, arbors with wisteria. Play structures accommodate all ages! Lots of paved walking paths. There is even a natural water running area (dont know how to describe it and didn't get a pic), but the kiddos can play in the water (thats ALWAYS a win with my kiddos). Ill have many more pics/videos/updates as the summer progresses!

I absolutely love this park. It's gorgeous landscape the entire park is kept up and clean. Parking is a bit tight but it's worth it if you can't walk their to find a parking spot.

What a surprise. Lived here in Metro Detroit for 30 years but never knew about this park. Just beautiful. Very well maintained, and clean. Like an English park, with nice brick pavilions.

April 2023 - came here with family. 2 boys and my 2 daughters all under the age of 8. Kids had a good time. Big play area. Bathrooms. Swing set. Shade. Tables. Great area to run and we noticed two different people who got married. They did their wedding photos at the park. Only issue was the parking. Not a lot of spots and they need to create more. Overall a great park. Very clean.

This place is amazing for all sorts of activities. it is a little packed at times with wedding photography so feels like you can get pushed around a bit if they want the space but the play center is perfect for all ages and it has a long trail to walk if thats what you need. I take my kiddos all the time plenty of shade and space.

This park is great. It's usually clean and not too crowded. With the added parking that is on the way, hopefully, this doesn't change. Love the water feature, the bridge towards the back of the park, and the lush green grass in between my toes! This park is perfect for walking and photos. Restrooms were clean, and the playground equipment was all in good functioning condition.

Got married here. You could say I'm biased to the park. Has Wonderful memories. Take both kids still to this day. Great for the playgrounds, walk the length of the park, picnics, photos sucks ect. If you play Pokemon go or Pikmin bloom this is a great spot.

A park open to the public that is so polished and pristine people get married there. There are actual shade trees too, so you don't die in the summer heat. Great parking, and a nice pond to watch the ducks and turtles. Has clean working bathrooms too... Located in the very back.
This park is one of our favorites!
This multi-use park has a lake for boating activities, a large pool with waterslides, trails & golf.
It’s a very serene and peaceful environment that allows you to get in touch with nature nature trails are just amazing I wish you could use the beach more

I'm so glad I purchased a pass to enjoy the Metro Parks! This is one of my favorites. I tend to park near the spot where you can enjoy the Wind Surfers and walk over to the wetlands park - beautifully preserved and cared for. I saw a Gopher and a Crane enjoying the beautiful day along with me. Perfect natural reset... 😍

What can I say. I absolutely love this park. Everything about it from the nature trail to the walking trail. I love the amount of nature that there is. The fall colors. Even in the winter which I do not like winter. This park is very pretty. The bathrooms are always clean. The park is open in 365 days a year. Every time I’m here I always try to snap a pic of some thing. If it’s a turtle or a bird or the water or the sunset or the sunrise or the deer or a groundhog, there’s many things. I’ve grown up coming to this park. Over the last couple years I went to all 13 metro parks in Michigan. I do prefer this one the most. These are some of my photos

The pool was clean, a little cold, but clean. Not to busy for a Friday. Arrived@ 1pm stayed until 5-530 pm. Lifeguards were on duty. Waterslide was fun! There's also rock climbing in the pool. It's $5 per person to enter into the pool area. Bathrooms were decent. Cafe has good food. Definitely would come back.

This is by far one of the best metro parks available in Michigan. I found it by accident- a pool near me charged 36 dollars for my toddler son and I, so we went looking elsewhere. $10 to enter the park on a daily pass- $40 for an annual pass. We have gone so often that the employee in the ticket booth noticed I had a ton of daily passes on my windshield- which equaled $40 so they said I can now get the annual pass when I turn in all of my daily passes, without having to pay another fee. Pool is $5 to get in and free for kids under 30 inches of height. The beach is no extra cost after you pay a daily or annual fee. The beach is beautiful, the water has been warm too. There are concessions available as well. We go at least twice a week now. The splash pad is no extra cost either.

Had my son's 2nd birthday at shelter J. I visited in June and worried about the taller grass around which had not been pictured when I booked the sheltered. There were bugs everywhere, because, you know, June. We had the party at the end of July. It was perfect. There were still bugs but not nearly as many, we didn't have a problem with gnats. The shelter was easily accessible via shuttle and was removed from all the beach activity which could still be enjoyed if you simply took a shuttle back. Our guests loved it too. There was a clean restroom nearby, a slide with a couple of swings, plenty of space to run around for all the kids. I'm thankful we hosted his birthday there.

A sunlit haven for photographers and families alike!
I recently had the chance to visit Lake St. Clair Metro Park at sunrise, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The way the early morning light touches the serene waters, creating an ever-changing canvas of hues, made for some truly breathtaking photographs. If you're an enthusiast of capturing nature's beauty, especially the calm elegance of dawn, this park is a must-visit.
But Lake St. Clair Metro Park isn't just for those with a camera in hand. It's evident that the park has been designed with everyone in mind. Families will find it particularly appealing. The waterpark, which caught my eye, seems like the perfect escape for the young ones to cool down and have a blast on a hot summer day. It's spacious, well-maintained, and filled with features sure to elicit joyful shrieks and laughter.
And then there's the expansive beach! Stretching out invitingly, the sandy shores offer ample space for picnics, sandcastle building, or simply lounging and taking in the tranquil surroundings.
All in all, Lake St. Clair Metro Park serves as a delightful blend of recreational activities and natural splendor. Whether you're an early bird photographer or a family in search of a wholesome outing, this park will exceed your expectations. Highly recommended!

A wonderfully paved 1 mile cement circle will take you on a tour of the park and the view onto lake st Clair is obviously outstanding. Always clean. Basketball courts, kids area, water slide into a pool, picnic tables and grills can all be found here too.

Beautiful area with lots of walking paths and nature. Trails for great outdoors exploring, beaches and lakes for swimming or water sports. There's a nature center that has fish, turtles, and a snake and great information in animals around the area. They also have stuffed birds, owls, and animals from the area. Side note they have nice bathrooms too.
Just know that if you don't have a Metropark pass, it's $10/ day. Pack some lunch and snacks there's plenty to explore. Enjoy!

This is my favorite park in the metro Detroit area. The playgrounds are newer equipment that is well maintained, and clean. The bathrooms are the same. They're all heated and most are open year round. Great walking trails with the best views. Always full of smiling faces. A true gem of a place that's more than worth the price of admission!

They have done a fantastic job of renovating and improving the entire park!
The exercise equipment is great quality and all of the children’s play area is done with recycled tires! So they won’t get hurt whenever they fall!!
I’ve been coming here since I was a toddler.
They made the beach area much smaller and put in some wildlife areas! A great place to visit if you’re looking for safety and fun

The nature area though a little small is still a nice place for a walk and allows the opportunity to see deer, owls, nesting water birds, and the usual assortment of small woodland friends! The wetland boardwalk can at times be flooded after heavy rains so plan accordingly should you adventure with rain in the forcast.

I decided to take my baby to the beach. He absolutely enjoyed it. As you can see he jumped in the water for a quick swim. The water was too cold for him..LOL The park is beautiful, we walked along the boardwalk. We stopped at the playground where the kids were playing. In the playground they had a house with free books for the kids. I thought that was really nice, "take a book, give a book''. We walked around a bit people watching. Families riding bikes just enjoying themselves young and old.

Nice park with walking trails, beach views, and many activities for every season.
Par 3 golf, mini golf, pool, splash park, beach, picnic areas, sledding hill, cross country ski route in the winter, natural ponds for ice skating, lots of good spots for fishing.
There is a nice playground, with sections for children of all ages and an exercise center just outside the fence.
Lots of space taken up with parking lots however, and it can get busy on the weekend - especially during summer.
On a weekday or during other seasons it can be quite empty, and It’s almost like having the park to yourself

Great Zoo, nice experience especially for kids as their were lots of fun, interactive farm animals.
The small area with games kids enjoyed a lot.
Well maintained water splashes, it’s always over crowded by the kids they are really enjoying this place. Long weekends are really busy and weekends are not bad too, especially in the summer. Best time to visit is weekdays mornings. Parking lots are little bit tight here.
They have good collection of animals, the reptiles area is not clean and smells bad. The food shops here is bit expensive and quantity was also less.
Overall a nice place to visit with kids.

I went here with my family and we had a great time. You can purchase buckets of feed for the animals, play in the assortment of playground equipment together, there is a mini village( it needs a bit of work it seems to be falling apart), splash around in a splash pad, and enjoy a picnic lunch or purchase a meal at the restaurant. Fun for all ages. I do however wish there was some type of fresh water source for the animals, many had disgusting looking water. The big cats could also do with a small pool to cool off in and play in. Its an inexpensive fun day for families all ages.

Absolutely loved the place! The animals seemed so happy, the chimps and monkeys were all playing with their toys they had. It was a very amazing experience. Was so nice to be able to hand feed some of the animals, you can buy a bucket of food to hand feed the animals that are able to be hand fed! They have an amazing water park and huge park for the kids to play at, there was 2 full playgrounds, zip lines for the kids, and a huge air trampoline I'm not sure what it's called but everyone loved it! The restaurant food is very delicious and cheap! Definitely will be going back again!

We took our grandchildren here today. The price at the gate includes the zoo and adventure park. The pens were clean and the animals seemed healthy and well cared for. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, plus extras for the carnivores. I saw a few bad reviews before leaving, but the park was clean and well kept to us.

My family has been coming here since I was a young child. I loved coming to see the animals - feeding them and petting them was always an extra treat!
We recently took our one year old and we had such a fabulous day. It wasn't packed, the right amount of sun and shade and it was clean.
The animals were all visible - would agree that some of the exhibits are a little small - but that is something that could always be improved with future development. There is a great variety of animals.
There is a large playground, a splash pad and lawn space for picnics or a spot to dry off in the sun. Our daughter loved the ball pit.

Beautiful animals, we had a great time here! The reason I give 4 stars is because it looked like the bear was not happy; pacing back and forth along the fence line. Made me sad 😕 as well as there appeared to be no park rangers (or whatever they're called) to enforce no smoking in the park or control children when they decide to throw things at the animals.

Great place for families. We spent the whole afternoon there today sept 17/23.big variety of play equipment for the kids , a zip line and a splash pad . The play equipment is all maintained in excellent working order . Picnic tables spread all over in areas under shaded trees.
Very courteous staff running the restaurant and the ice cream counter .
Clean washrooms .
Animals looked healthy and well nourished .. The lions were sleeping under the afternoon sun seemingly quite content . This is my second time there with my 7 year old grandson . We will be returning !😁

Love everything about this place. I always bring with me veggies and fresh bananas. I also buy many bags of feed from the park to support. Animals are healthy and vibrant and lucky they have a caring family to look after them. Animals in the wild are being poached to extinction and their natural habitat is being ravaged to supply human demands. Places like these give people the opportunity to see these beautiful animals. The wolf enclosure is absolutely amazing. The lions can be lazy but they have plenty of room. Tigers are fantastic and also have plenty of room to stretch and play. I always bring different friends and family and visit multiple times a year. I just love being out there and the family the runs the place is great. After 8 pm they never kick me out and give me time to finish feeding all the begs I bought. Canteen has decent food too. Sometimes I read people reviews complaining about smells and what not. They are animals that use the restroom out in nature and the workers and family regularly clean and as often as they can. May God be my witness I’m not a personal friend or even know the family who owns this place that well. I’m just returning patron who loves the place. People who complain about space must have the wrong place reviewed. Did they visit a human prison? because that’s what they are describing the cages people sit in that other people put them in. These animals have plenty plenty of space. The wolf enclosure is massive with a major water whole at the centre absolutely beautiful. Lions naturally like to do very little if they don’t need to hunt and they have plenty of room. Gators grow in size according to their environment and are almost always comfortable doing nothing. It’s an amazing place.

Great zoo and park for the family and kids. Love that they serve food and treats here. I would recommend the chicken fingers! They are always a family favourite.
Ample parking, reasonable prices and lots of shade for hot days.
Lots of animals for the kids to see and a great playground and splash pad! The only annoying thing is that there are a lot of flies in the summer. Would highly recommend for a family outing especially for little kids.

We enjoyed the zoo. It’s nice to see that the new owners are improving the enclosures. My LO loved feeding the animals. I just wish they had more hand sanitizer or hand washing stations for using after you feed the animals, it was difficult lugging my toddler and all our gear to the bathroom every time we fed animals. The food in the restaurant was good, and well priced. The playground has lots to do. It was a fun day!

This place has come a long way since I was a kid! Not perfect but they have a good array of different animals. Small local zoo, great for half a day trip, animals look well taken care of, amazing park , splash pad is small, they have a restaurant and food prices are abit steep.
Some animals need better enclosures and more space but not worth a whole day.

We had a descent spot for our 44ft 5th wheel. Little gravel & grassy, pretty level. Only 30amp h/u, no water or sewer. Has dump & water fill station. When it rains the sites get pretty flooded & muddy. The mosquitoes are brutal. Dog walking & poop stations are good. Great biking trail. Views of river are great. There’s a shooting range there so you hear gunfire a lot. Very close to town for essentials. Had to pay $40 each for vehicle AND motorcycle for park passport, ridiculous! Oh and the roads & potholes are horrible! We would probably stay here again.

Nice park and friendly staff! This is a nice quiet campground and if you’re able to get a site on the river, you’re going to get a great view. If you are a boat nerd, this is definitely the place to be. Right now sites are just electricity, but I hear water and sewer are coming soon. The mosquitoes get bad at night, but that’s no fault of the park. My only complaint would be that the sewer area could be cleaned up and repaired a bit.

Just spent an incredible two hours at the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History. From the moment we walked through the door, to the moment we left, we were treated like family. Our 11 year old had a project to do for school so we made the 2+ hour drive and are certainly glad we did. Those hesitant to go with children, shouldn't be! Jackie provided an age-appropriate description of history and historical artifacts that was interactive and engaging. The gift shop had wonderful items at very reasonable prices. Our child will have an incredible project to present now! Thank you for a fabulous visit!

We had our first virtual tour of this museum today, and loved it! Since it is not possible to go to a place that is so far from our school, it was wonderful to be able to receive a tour over Zoom! The hostess explained everything beautifully, at the level appropriate for my students. They could ask questions and ask for clarification when needed. We were able to see all of the buildings on the property and felt as if we were really there!
Above all, it was totally affordable.
I highly recommend this to all teachers studying this time in history.

We are delighted that we decided to visit the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History. The museum impressively portrays Josiah's transition from slavery in the United States to freedom in Canada. One highlight for us was the timeline exhibit in the Center, which vividly illustrates the challenges faced by Africans in various historical events over the centuries. Additionally, we appreciated the well-preserved historical buildings on the site, including Josiah's house, the church, and the new settler dwelling.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that guided tours are available at the museum, which added to our overall experience. Special thanks to Morgan, who did an outstanding job as our tour guide!
We highly recommend a visit to this museum; it offers an exceptionally educational experience.

I had been wanting to visit this museum for a number of years and finally took the opportunity to come in, listen and learn, as well as pay my respects to Rev. Henson and family at the family cemetery. Jackie, Steven, and Whitney are wonderful ambassadors, and are truly dedicated in their passion to welcome guests, and share knowledge. I recommend taking a guided tour if it is available when you visit, as it will really bring history to life.
If you ever had a passing idea of visiting the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History, you must do so. Also be sure to spend some time perusing the items in the gift shop; from books to handmade items, you're sure to find something.

A busload of 40 women from the Bob Hayward Y in London attended the museum on June 27 2023, and were impressed, educated and delighted with the presentation by Jackie Bernard. Her passion about the subject matter moved us all, and brought to life the trials and tribulations of the freed black slaves. The “true” story of Uncle Tom’s cabin is one we should definitely hear!

I will return in 2024 for Emancipation Day and most likely again next Fall for a Teacher Workshop. In the U.S., the stories of the Underground Railroad end at the Canadian border and freedom. There is much more to be told!
Dave Bellamy — Google review
This hidden gem should be a destination spot for every Canadian, educator, history buff, and all around lover of people regardless of race. Learning who Josiah Henson was outside of being associated with Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beatrice Stowe was a paradigm shifting experience. As a Black person seeing and learning how 1 Black man was able to rescue his entire family plus 118 others from the evils of slavery, as a teen listened and memorized the bible because it was illegal to learn how to read to become a preacher and ultimately put Canada on the map as the only Black person to have an exhibit at Queen Victoria's world fair.
The ability to achieve that and more in the face of such adversity is what should be taught in every school and a visit to the museum a must as a school trip. It's not just Black history. It's our history - Canada's history.
Donna Cain — Google review
So let me start off by saying the sign on the 401 doesn't do this place justice. It's not just a historical site, but actually a history lesson in slavery and the underground railroad. There is an education centre, a short film and a historical timeline of significant dates in history. Then outside, there are actual buildings to go in plus the burial grounds of Josiah Henson and his family. You should definitely check it out.

Self guided it took us about an hour and half to see it all, but really we could have easily spent half the day checking it out.
There were descriptions posted with each vehicle, some had videos, and the volunteers were very informative.

Unbelievably great place. Far more then just classic cars. Check the web site and go. Free admission but make a generous donation for a man preserving so much history

What a fun and beautiful place to visit! So much history under one roof! So much to see and learn. Really had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who likes museums, old cars, and music.

Anyone who loves vintage cars, player pianos, pipe organs, older mechanical machines and a blast from the past will LOVE this museum! Bring the whole family-kids can see what it was like to live in America in the recent past and many will find treasured things from their childhood. Great for school trips, scouting groups and a good “old fashioned” family outing. The price is right-FREE (by donation). Check hours and days before coming.

A great place to visit.... over a dozen organs from early 1900s to 1920s.... live organ music..... so many cars. A wide variety, a 50s style dinner....a must see place....

My god this place is like a huge party when you walk in the door! A unique and beautiful collection of mostly 1900-1960 classic automobiles AND vintage music machines and organs. Too many things to highlight.....you gotta go there! Kids will love it. Very talkative and knowledgeable spirited docents will answer any questions. Only open 1 day a week for 3 hours so plan accordingly! Worth going out of your way to visit. And.....NO ADMISSION CHARGE. I left $$$$ in the donation box. A beautiful experience!

On my bucket list for 10 years. Why did I wait? The place is incredible. Loved the cars, and amazed by the musical machines. Blown away. The many docent volunteers were great. It won't be 10 years before I go back.

An excellent museum. Great selection of cars, some very rare. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic collection of unique vehicles in excellent condition. Many old cars from the early days of automobiles. There is also an amazing array of functional auto-playing musical instruments from violins to a Wurlitzer theater organ. Notice the open hours, they are very limited.

This museum is amazing! You don’t need to be a car buff to enjoy it (I am not and I was fascinated). There were so many amazing cars from the past and a roomful of calliopes and old music players of all types. The owner opens his collection to the public on a limited basis so check the times before you go but definitely GO! They even have a Tucker in the collection! There are a large group of very friendly, knowledgeable people who will tell you all you want to know about the collection and they play most of the music players for you! And it’s a free museum. It’s so kind of the owner to share this with the public.

Traveling from Canada, our car obsessed son has been gearing up for a visit to this place. Our visit here did not disappoint either.
We came the first weekend in December, and it was tremendous. They had a very good organist playing Christmas carols on their incredible organ.
The cars were so cool. Very unique kinds here too. Some that I've never seen or heard of. Truly an amazing collection. The gentlemen that volunteer here are so knowledgeable and helpful too.
Make sure when you visit to leave a donation as it's a free museum.
We'll definitely be back sometime to visit.
5/5.

The best selection of treats, the absolute best scones around, and love their beef pot pies, apple pies. The staff is friendly and very helpful

It's always a treat to visit PARKS BLUEBERRIES & COUNTRY STORE!
I haven't visited since October 2022, and the following noticeable changes have occurred:
1. Servings of lunch items are significantly smaller and more expensive.
2. No more added fresh blueberries on the plate or salad when ordering a meal.
3. No more asking if we wanted our pieces of pie heated or if we wanted whipped cream with the pie.
4. No more counter with utensils, cream/milk, or sugar for your coffee/tea. It makes ordering a hot drink awkward because I have my way of fixing up my tea or coffee. Now, I had to tell the server how much cream to put in my coffee until it had the right colour.
PARKS, please bring back the coffee counter and at least 1 free refill of coffee with the purchase of a meal.
5. By 5 p.m. there was only one salesperson left at the cash. She had to handle ringing through customers, go down isles to help customers, and handle a few price checks because items had no price tag on them.
PARKS, please bring back a couple of additional of your amazing salespeople! Have one on the sales floor to assist customers and answer questions and another at the till until closing time, especially on a holiday weekend.
6. I may be wrong here, but I was sure that Pumpkin Spice Muffins with Cream Cheese Filling were available in September 2022. I couldn't find any at this visit which was too bad. I hope they will be available soon!
7. On a positive note, we found a few unique and great items in the country store that we purchased.

Stopped by Parks Blueberries on our way home from camping. What a great little spot. There were a lot of nice home decor options and their desserts were spot on. The blueberry turnovers were my favorite. The sandwich counter at the back of the shop was a nice surprise if you're in need of a fresh sandwich or slice of warm pie. Prices were on the higher side of things but you can't beat a perfect blueberry and white chocolate scone!

Always a pleasure to visit! Lovely day trip, driving backroads countryside and picking out the quilt blocks on the barns. Gift shop is so unique. The bake shop is a must to bring home yummy treats. The restaurant offers homemade lunch and dessert offerings! Blueberries fresh or frozen are the best!!

We really enjoy taking a trip to Parks! All of the bake goods are amazing. My personal favorite is the blueberry lemon pound cake. I never come home with less than 4. They have an interesting store/gift shop to look around in as well.

The roast beef sandwich was excellent and enough for two meals. The egg salad sandwich was one of the best. Of course, had to follow with a dark chocolate raspberry scone and my partner had the mint Naniamo bar. Always a great spot to stop and pick up lunch for our travels in the area.

Best blueberries ever, I live over an hour away by car, but I will drive there just so I can make my muffins. It's only Parks Blueberries for me. Worth every penny. These are my fresh out of the oven, mouthwatering blueberries muffins.

Cute and well stocked little country store! Lots of unique kitchen items, as well as fresh baked goods. Frozen meat pies are excellent as well! The lunch counter is a nice addition, though the prices are high for the offerings. My $10 egg salad sandwich was bare bones (not even lettuce or a tomato slice). Definitely miss the blueberry tarts they used to have!
J. Shaw (Worms) — Google review
My family and I have been going here for several years. We enjoy having lunch and then picking blueberries. Unfortunately, Parks has priced themselves right out of our price range for blueberry picking. You have to pick at least 2 pounds per person and they're $3.75 (I'm pretty sure) per pound. With my husband and I, that's 4 pounds that we will never be able to use. Freeze them? We've done that. I just used up my last bag a week ago and they weren't that tasty. Lunch prices have gone up; as they have everywhere and the lunch staff were very curt today. The service at the lunch counter was far from friendly. So, with the higher prices, mandatory 2 lbs picking, I think we won't be back to Parks.

Foods great here, awesome store if you like country style decor! Pies for days! Lol also, I nice outing if you like picking your own blueberries. They have an amazing turkey club I get every time I stop there. Check it out if you're in the area, it's worth the stop.
Cnuk999 — Google review
Lovely place in the country full of gifts and food. The blueberries are ready to be picked you can pick or buy already picked. We went for lunch which is a cafeteria style where you grab a tray and order as you walk by. They have a good size menu of sandwich’s soups and even pizza. There are also desserts pie and other goodies. The best thing and the reason we go there is the scones. They are expensive but are the best 6 for 15.00. The scones are big, I usually cut them in half and freeze them. Thawing is quick or 30 sec in the microwave and they are good to go. If you need to get away for a little while try them out for lunch and a stroll through the gift shop and bakery. The scones are so good I’m glad I don’t live too close.

Always an amazing place to stop when you’re on the road any time of year. But it’s always extra special during Christmas season when you cut down your tree from Sloan’s right down the road & stop here for lunch right after. Their turkey dinner is absolutely outstanding. Oddly my favourite parts are definitely the squash & blueberry/cranberry sauce! They are both so well done I just can’t get enough of them! Highly recommend

Great experience for the kids. We went on the last weekend of the season and were able to get a nice pick done. Berrys were very tasty and the farm is nice and well organized. Their on-site store and bakery is worth the trip alone. The Pumpkin Creme Cheese Muffins are exceptional!!!
I have seen several plays here and I haven't been disappointed at all. As a matter of fact,I honestly enjoyed myself every time. I recently went to watch the Addams Family play and it was awesome. Even my 88 year old mom loved it. The performers did a fantastic job not only acting but singing as it was a musical. I can't say enough positive things for the Riverbank. It is a small theatre however they are working on a bigger and better theatre which has an expected date of opening in approximately 2024. I can't wait until my next play.

What a fantastic little theater!! It seemed to run very organized and professionally from the time we approached the back of theater (a sign said the door was open), to getting our seats, to exiting. The play we saw was outstanding. I've directed and produced small plays most of my life and this was top notch. I loved how the set moved. The cast was excellent. We will definitely be back and will bring friends.

I cannot speak highly enough of the Riverbank Theatre Collection (with The Snug Theatre) - high quality shows that rival the professionalism of other Detroit Theatres, brilliant direction, fabulous vocals, wonderful choreography, and friendly staff. There's no better way to spend your weekend than a night at Riverbank Theatre. You won't be disappointed ~

We saw Bonnie and Clyde the musical. It was great. This was our first time here. The theater is small but really nice. The rows of seats are sloped well so that your views of the stage are clear. The actors did a great job. We will be back.

I came here with some family members that live in the area. We bought tickets to watch their rendition of The Sound of Music. While it is a small theatre, the building is full of character, and you can just feel the energy. The seating was really well set up, and you had a clear view of the stage from any spot. I was thoroughly impressed by the Riverbank. As for the play...INCREDIBLE! Their singing was stunning, and they did a fantastic job keeping you locked into the story. It is a 3hr play with one intermission. You can purchase bottled water for $1 in the front lobby area, but I didn't see any snacks. Overall, this is an amazing little place to check out, I highly recommend seeing one of their many plays.

Had a great time leaning about the oil exploration in Southwestern Ontario. Both Oil Springs and Petrolia were large oil towns something that we are not taught in our Ontario Schools. The physical' museum was very interesting and do not miss the 12 minute film provided. The outside exhibits were great, I enjoyed the old Oil Spring Train Station the best. The working oil well was also interesting to visit.

The museum is great- recently renovated, exhibits are very informative, and the staff were great. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the whole place smells overwhelmingly like a chemical plant, to the point of being hard to bear. Which is a shame, because otherwise it's surprisingly good.

Enjoyed it, I thought the material was well presented, and I enjoyed seeing the old equipment, as well as the products made from oil. I wish the writing was not behind such a glossy finish, my boomer eyes have a hard time reading it. Also wish the interactive content didn't go into sleep mode while I was trying to read the screen.
Performing arts venue in an elegant, historic building with a cash bar & outdoor terrace.
Just got home from the Starbright Christmas Show and I’m still on cloud nine. What an amazing and talented group of musicians. The lighting, the variation of musical renditions switching between serious, comical and reverent was absolutely perfect . If there is anything I could even slightly criticize ,it got a bit too loud at times.
But otherwise loved ,loved loved it❤️

On June 7th my wife and I attended Where the Heart is and at the start of the performance a gentleman made a brief announcement about the play . At the end of his speech It was said -- I can't give you back your time but we can give back your money --- Well I am asking for reimbursement and so far am being denied. We departed at the intermission for reasons I have already given. Hope you have a change of heart. Thom Robinson

Great little outing for myself & my favorite Littles (aged 2 & 9). Pricing for touring the museum was very fair for the 3 of us. We learned a lot & we loved looking at all the animals- big & small- up close & personal. At the end of our adventure through the museum portion, we checked out the gift shop which had many unique & reasonably priced items.
One thing that would have made our experience even more enjoyable would be to have had a tour guide to help us take in all the information Stones 'N Bones has to offer.
All that being said, we are sure to be back in the future!!

They both love ALL stones and bones. Fantastic resource if you want to learn.
Honestly if my kids were still young I wouldn't bring due to him. My older kids I could explain how wrong his comments were. If he can be avoided this is seriously one of the best places around to visit. So much in such a small place!

This place is a hidden gem. Located in Sarnia’s bayside, the owner has amassed a tremendous collection of animal exhibits. Touch a beaver pelt, see fossils up close. Incredible examples of rare minerals. There are so many things to see. I’ve been there 3 times and I still feel like I haven’t seen everything. Often, the owner is there in person. The guides that take you through the exhibits are knowledgeable and overall lovely.

I'm visiting Canada from England and went here with my girlfriend today. One of my favourite museums I've ever visited :) Amazing collections and so much to look at despite the small size - I've never really been in a museum like it. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
The Blue Water Bridge is a stunning architectural marvel that connects Sarnia to the United States, offering breathtaking views of the sky-blue water and beautiful waterfront. This border community provides easy access to major markets in both Canada and the U.S., making it an ideal destination for travelers. The bridge itself may not be as visually striking as others, but its functionality and efficiency make it a popular choice for crossing between the two countries.
I always love making my way to the bridge. Not only is it amazing to have a border crossing so close to home for the purpose of travel. It's also beautiful just to see all year round.

Entry point from Canada to the US State of Michigan. Great view from the bridge. Very long wait for the people in cars. One single lane dedicated to cars. Towards the US end it sub divides into approximately seven lanes for border clearance. Post this , it all depends upon your luck how much of traffic you may face. Going either ways, it’s exactly the same story.
At the same time the Officials manning the respective posts are extremely cordial while performing their checks.

You have to except the bad traffic on some days and the great engineering of the massive bridge that crosses the St. Clair river. A beautiful area to watch the ship go down stream or enter the mouth of Lake Huron. French fries are available as well as a playground for the lil monkeys. Bring a light jacket for those cool evening visits. Also fish feeding is available at the Blue Water Fish Hatchery (not sure if that's the appropriate name).

One of the main bridges between Canada and the US.
We take this crossing a lot as we go to Toronto often.
The bridge itself is nice, not particularly pretty like the Ambassador bridge or Mackinaw bridge but it's very functional and moves fast.
The border patrol agents are all over. Some have been very polite and others are clearly on a power trip and looking for trouble but that seems to be the general vibe from all US government agents.
The fee is $3 for a car and is more than fair.
Crossing here is fast and most of the time an uneventful trip.

This has always been a go to spot for people that live near or around Sarnia to go to. It’s a great place to sit to watch the boats go by, in the summertime. It’s fantastic to go for walks with your dog or your family, and they are constantly doing work to improve it.

I recently visited the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia, and it was a breathtaking experience. The stunning architectural design of the bridge combined with the picturesque views of the river and surrounding areas left me in awe. The bridge is not just a functional structure but a true work of art. Whether you're there for a peaceful stroll or to appreciate the beauty of the St. Clair River, the Blue Water Bridge is a must-visit destination.

What a beautiful international bridge connecting the United States and Canada. The view from atop the bridge is gorgeous. The toll as of 2023 was $4.50 American and $6 dollars Canadian that was for cars

Such a beautiful place to visit! Fell in love with the community. The park is a beautiful place to gather for relaxation and exercise, picnic, sun, walk, ride or sit. It's awesome to watch the water activities and boats or chat up a fisherman on the bank.
Imposing lighthouse built in 1829 at Fort Gratiot to protect shipping at Point Edward.
I absolutely love taking day trips here. The gift shop is adorable, the lighthouse is perfect and the beach has the coolest rocks! It's so crazy to be there when a freighter is pulling out of the river or going into the river! Def worth checking out!

We came here at the beginning of December and the grounds were well-maintained! It is such a nice peaceful spot in the mornings!

Beautiful lighthouse and location! I visited in Feb with -6F windchill but it was well worth it. Although it had snowed earlier, snow was removed from the parking lot.
They also offer tours for the lighthouse for $10. It was closed in winter though.
Overall a nice place to visit with family/ friends. You can also add fort Gratiot beach to your itinerary, it's about 5 minutes further north.

A lovely day trip!!! The day was beautiful, Mike (our tour guide) was fun and very nice. I loved the little gift shop. Michigan's oldest lighthouse .....has some wonderful history behind it. A nice place to take family/visitors as well.

One of our favorite destinations when visiting Port Huron. The lighthouse is a well kept piece of history. My wife enjoys looking for beach glass and Petoskey stones along the shore, and we always find at least a few, though they’re hard to spot. Excellent views of ships and a perfect place for a picnic.

We took the tour of the property. It was great to learn the history of the lighthouse and to see where the lighthouse keeper and his family lived. Seeing the lake from the top of the lighthouse was breathtaking!

Fun park and historic information on the Light house, St. Claire River and Lakes. We only visited the grounds which was free, lighthouse wasn't open for tour, but that was an additional cost. We went when the lighthouse was seasonally closed at end of March.

Visited the lighthouse while on vacation. It was a nice break on a hot day in a park like setting. Buildings were closed when we visited, but the little gift shop was open. There's also beach access right next door with a playground. Love checking out Michigan lighthouses.

The lighthouse tour was great, and I had a wonderful, and knowledgeable tour guide. I was able to see the grounds, enter some of the buildings, and even climb the lighthouse tower itself. Excellent views at the top! Definitely recommend visiting this if/when you're in the area.

Had a great experience visiting the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse! The staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of the lighthouses history. We were able to go inside many of the buildings included to the top of the lighthouse. You are even able to rent one of the out buildings to stay overnight 💚💯💯

Not open, off season and cold. Great view. Worth coming back when the weather warms up.
Canatara Beach & Park is a picturesque destination on Ontario's Blue Coast that offers a range of recreational activities for visitors. In addition to its crystal clear waters, this Blue Flag Beach features a rocky shoreline that adds to its natural beauty. The park also boasts a petting zoo, BMX track and mini train ride for kids and families to enjoy. Canatara Beach is an accessible location that provides plastic mats for strollers and wheelchairs.
Nice beach . It's still early in the season and facilities are closed. The weather is starting to get nice, maybe summer will finally show its face. There is a ton of nearly kept trails, and the sunset / sunrise are gorgeous here on lake huron. I prefer the sunrises as there are very few people in the morning. Plenty of parking and benches to just sit and relax to enjoy the park. A note to dog owners, the beaches are off limits to them as the city has a bylaw in place, although I've seen a few people walking their dogs early on. Personally i have no issues with that as all the owners I've seen are responsible.

We always enjoy watching the Canada Day parade that passes through the park and hours of fun on the beach with the family.

Beautiful day - 17 degrees. Feb. 9/24 The sand was quite clean which made our walk enjoyable all along the beach. The park itself is quite large with many people out and about today, along with their canine friends. There was one brave soul who tested the water! I would guess this is a beautiful park for swimming during the summer months. A place to relax, take a moment, and enjoy the water.

Nice and Clean, Easily Accessible Park!
My family and I made a brief stop last summer (Aug 2021) at this place to have a glimpse of famous clear bluish waters of Lake Huron. Everything I read about was true. It's unfortunate we didn't swim because of time constraints and weather (very sunny but cool & windy). I marked this place on my itinerary for the next time we visit.

Spacious, lush with protected sand dunes & brilliant blue waters of Lake Huron. Secluded park & beach areas with adjoining amenities. Picnic areas, trails & footpaths located in the park, ideal for running, strolling or cycling.
Ample parking, no fees & easy access to park with varied areas.

Yes! Certain other communities could learn a lesson from sarnia ! Fabulous beach, sparkling water( a little rocky in the first few feet of the the water though). Loads of FREE parking right at the beach, so no stress about meters, ticket machines that don't work ( Port Stanley) limited spaces or having to park in areas to far to trek to and from with all the stuff we all haul to the beach . We spent a few days here , it was perfect.

Well, Canatara Beach & Park is like a magical escape! When I got there, the sand was soft, the sun was shining, and I could hear the waves crashing. The park was full of green trees and colorful flowers that made the whole place look amazing.
The best part was feeling so peaceful. I walked by the water and felt calm with the sound of the waves. And the sunset? It was like a painting in the sky, with beautiful colors that made me stop and stare.
I can say, this place isn't just a park—it's a place where you can make great memories and feel the magic of nature all around you. Whether you're looking for adventure or just a peaceful time, Canatara Beach & Park has it all!

Beautiful park and beach. We went on Labour day, and parking was no problem. It was also Free. There is chip truck near the beach area and washrooms are regularly being cleaned. Also no biting flies on this beach! Unlike all other beaches I've gone to this summer. The water is warm, with bearable waves for swimming.

Huge park with long Blue Flag Beach recognition. Lots of parking close to the beach. I only went to the beach area further into the park but the beach stretches for a long length. There was an icecream cart there and washroom facility (no showers) with foot wash station and charging plug for electric wheelchair. Washroom building opened from 8:00am-9:00pm. Building also houses a lifeguard station. There was lifeguard supervision in sessions of the beach as signage indicated. Beach was sandy with some pebbles. Monitored with video cameras. I enjoyed the beach, especially watching the water skiers and boats going by when I was relaxing and not in the water; however, I was NOT impressed with the litter people left on the beach...such a surprise! The beach closer to the entrance has showers and more facilities. As for the park itself, it is huge with lots of picnic tables and shady areas, trails, playgrounds, children's zoo, bike park with moguls. You can spend all day there if you want.

Canatara is a beautiful beach to visit. So nice many people from out of town come to visit. It is clean and roomy. Has about 3000 feet of beach. Go swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding etc. It also has long mats for easier access for strollers and wheelchairs. Canatara also 200 acres of park perfect for events, bbqs, picnics, family get togethers etc. There is also walking trails, a bmx bike, playgrounds, an exercise area, an animal farm. Also great for bird watching.... Perfect for a relaxing day...

Excellent, clean beach. The day we went, the sand was a little rocky but the water was very calm. It's a couple of minutes away from the petting zoo so makes for a great day out. There are family bathrooms with change table.

Went to the animal farm, it is incredibly cute and a great experience for younger children. You can bring vegetables to feed certain animals and there are a variety of animals. It is a free experience so worth a visit!
