This blue old medina was a marvelous experience. You gonna have to climb a few step and by a few steps I mean all the way. Everything is painted blue and white which is actually a color theme that you'll see all around the north of Morocco.

Best Surf School in Zahara de los Atunes & Tarifa Area!!!
I was with my kids (7 & 11 years old) for 2 weeks in Zahara Surf School. The time we spend was awesome. Jon is an excellent surf instructor and we have improved our surfing skills. The surf lessons were done in German language - English and Spanish as well possible. The surf equipment was in excellent condition and the prices are fair.
We have had an excellent time and when we are back in Tarifa area we will take the next lessons.
Many thanks to Jon and Natalie

Impressive set of fortificarions, built in the 1540s by the Portuguese.
Michiel Belmans — Google review
We recently enjoyed a 10-night Western Mediterranean Cruise on the MSC Lirica sailing from Alicante (cost £420 each in January). The sixth stop was Ceuta and from the port there was a short walk to all the main attractions including the Murallas Reales de Ceuta (Royal Walls of Ceuta). The Royal Walls is a well maintained fort that dates back to the 16th century. At the fort there are lots of artefacts including cannons The fortress walls are divided by a moat that connects both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. From the top of the moat there are fantastic views of the port, Mount Hacho (mountain) and the beaches Playa de la Ribera and Playa del Chorrillo.
The Royal walls are surrounded by the historical city of Ceuta that has beautiful fountains, monuments (Hercules, Escultura Pedro Meneses, Escultura de Enrique el Navegant, Escultura del Alcalde Sanchez Prados and so on), gardens and squares including Plaza de Africa and Plaza de los Reyes.
There are also a number of museums including the Military Museum of the Legion, Fuerte del Desnarigado fort and museum, the Museo del Revellín and the Museo de la Basilica Tardorromana. Other attractions include the Triumphal arch, the casino, the Cathedral, the House of Dragons, Puerto Califal Fort, Ceuta Park Mall, the Shrine of Our Lady of Africa, the lighthouse Faro Punta Almin, the food market Mercado Central and Park San Amaro. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ceuta, because we felt relaxed, the people were very friendly and there was so much to do and see We would definitely recommend a visit to both Ceuta and the Royal Walls.

The explanations, in German for us, were very helpful and expert in understanding the connections between bull breeding, bullfighting, the cultural landscape of Dehesa and working with the horses. Afterwards we got a guided tour through the stables and saddle room. From our point of view, the rather high entrance fee is fully justified. Thank you for a great morning.

We enjoyed the kind hospitality offered by A Campo Abierto staff throughout the duration of our visit to the ranch.
We were greeted by Patricia, a member of the Donec family who was extremely helpful and informative throughout the visit. Patricia provided a comprehensive commentary in fluent English and addressed our questions in full.
An arena was used to demonstrate dressage skills followed by viewings of cows, calves and four year old fighting bulls. We learnt so much about the people, livestock and the natural environment. Being from a farming background we appreciated the stockmanship and care necessary to breed the cattle and horses.
The demonstrations and visit to the museum enhanced our understanding of the role of bullfighting within Andalusian culture. The visit has inspired us to further explore Andalusian culture during our next visit to Spain.
We thoroughly enjoyed this spectacular visit which concluded with a welcome sampling of A Campo Abierto sherry. Thanks to all the staff at the ranch, but especially to Patricia who is a very competent, knowledgeable tour guide and affable host. John & Roberta.

Europa Point is located at the southernmost point of Gibraltar and features a lighthouse, visitor center, and stunning views of Morocco's north coast just 21km away across the Straits. On clear days, visitors can see the Rif mountain range, including Jebel Musa peak. The site is also home to Harding Battery, Mosque of The Custodian of the Holy Mosques, and Nuestra Senora de Europa chapel.
Amazing experience. The tip of Europe from which you can see Africa. It is so close that the phone finds coverage from Morocco 😉

It is a must see place though I did not see the rock properly and did not have time to go and play with those amazing funny but also a bit disturbing monkeys. The rock went on and off hiding in clouds and emerging again like playing a game with me beckoning me to come again. And I surely will. It is worth it. And it is so very British there at the very south of my beloved Spain. Also very impressive views are there not only from the famous lighthouse. If you are lucky enough, you can see the Africa which for me has remained misteriously shrouded in fog. You can sit at a bench watching birds breath the breeze and just be.

Views of Africa and Spain alongside views of the rock. Lighthouse, play area, sports stadium and battery all within the area. Battery itself has a room underneath which gives some wildlife facts and some history of Gibraltar. To get there is about 15 mins on the bus and its bus number 2 to get there.
We went on a windy day and to note it did blow us about!! So maybe don't go on a windy day😂

This is a really nice place, located on the south point of the rock. Stunning views over the straight of Gibraltar. Really clear views of the North African coast. Was quite windy and rainy when we visited but nonetheless.. it was visually stunning. Go there when it's sunny. Pictures say it all.
St. Michael's Cave in Gibraltar is a remarkable geological attraction composed of intricate limestone formations. The cave features a series of chambers and tunnels, with drops up to 148ft and depths reaching up to 200ft. It was formerly used for defensive purposes by the Moors and Spaniards, as well as prepared for use as a hospital during World War II. Today, it serves as an occasional concert venue where its stunning beauty is showcased through colorful lights.
Astounding caves located an easy enough walk from the cable car station.
Remarkable to find and known about since the roman times.
Impressive drops and lightshows.
David Belch — Google review
The cave was impressive and the light and sound effects really cool. It's wet inside, so we really needed to watch our step on different stairs but I liked the experience a lot. Since in our case it was part of a one day trip (and the 1,5 hrs mini bus tour up the mountain), we didn't have enough time to enjoy the stay to the fullest unfortunately.
Ines K?hler — Google review
This really is an incredibly beautiful cave.
The stalagmites and stalactites are epic in size!
The only distractions are the green and purple lighting and continuous light show which are tacky and distract from the natural beauty of the cave.
Luckily, there are reprieves between these shows when white lights illuminate the walls, providing an opportunity to take great photos.
Michael Kelley — Google review
I visited St. Michael’s Cave on March 2024 and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. The natural formations of stalactites and the carefully orchestrated light show created an ambiance akin to a natural cathedral. The cave’s acoustics enhanced the experience, especially during the live concert event. While the beauty of the cave is undeniable, I found the signage leading to different sections could be improved for better navigation. Overall, St. Michael’s Cave is a must-visit attraction in Gibraltar, offering a mesmerizing blend of nature’s artistry and human creativity.

The best cave exhibition and a unesco level experience. The lighting of the caves makes the experience so beautiful and tranquil and makes your head spin. It is gorgeous and stunning and the cave itself is very energetic and beautiful. Would recommend if you’re visiting Gibraltar!
You can also see the monkeys just outside the cave, they are very friendly! Recommend buying your ticket in advance to avoid long lines

A beautiful cave with an interesting light show. The crowds make it less intimate. There is no guide and Montour is available, it's simply a walk through.

Very nice, interesting new experience. We, on Slovakia, can say nothing with our caves against this one. Beautiful structures, very fancy lights, which gave the right atmosphere. The cave cinema was awesome. Probably we were lucky, but there were not many people today. If you weren't there, I really recommend coming, it's a great once in a life experience.
Patrik Bukovsk? — Google review
Great place with a fantastic atmosphere. At the entrance to the cave you can buy something to eat and drink. The cave is very clean and cool but wet. No one should have a problem with reaching the cave because the road is well marked and easy. However, you should take care of good protection against UV light ;)
Suafus — Google review
Small cave with a gift shop, sounds boring, right? 🙂 Nope. The lights & sounds show inside is MAGICAL, and I don't use that word often. All the small info boards and historical notes are just the cherry on top. Would visit again and I sincerely hope I will.
Tom Hejl — Google review
I did not actually go to visit the caves but went there to see John Bishop live, he was very good and funny, the caves as a venue is great, only thing some areas were wet due to water scraping in and getting out as we were in front row took ages as there is only one entrance and exit, but what I saw of the caves looked good and may go and visit it again normally. The event was well organised with shuttle buses leaving the midtown car park taking you to the caves and bringing you back when the event had finished.
Stephen Ravenscroft — Google review
Absolutely loved it here! It has such special, pleasant vibes that I'd love to feel more often. Music and visual effects are nicely produced in the cave environment and it was such a nice surprise!

A shift from the sweeping vista of the Pillars of Hercules, this cave offers a cool break from the higher temps outside. A well developed cave, with plenty of space (it's a local musical venue). People with disabilities or trouble walking may have difficulty with the stairs. A common hang out for the famous Barbary macaques, awaits you at the gift shop exit (be careful, seemingly tame, these are wild creatures). Also, a common tourist destination, so try to time your visit at off peak hours to enjoy the music and light display.
Matthew Richardson — Google review
Amazing! This is a fantastic place to visit if you are on the rock. Plan your day well as a wrist band will get you in to all of the attractions (check the band you buy).
Give yourself time to really enjoy the caves as these are spectacular!

Very simple but super cool. And a great place to see monkeys! The cave itself is pretty awesome. The angel in the cave doesn’t require an exaggerated imagination - it really does look like an angel. The cave itself is beautiful and they’ve done a great job using lights to accentuate the beauty. I really love that they cycle through the lighting effects to all white lighting so you can also see the natural beauty of the cave. And we saw lots of monkeys outside there as well. A very enjoyable experience!

I recently had the opportunity to explore St. Michael’s Cave, and it was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Nestled within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve in Gibraltar, this network of limestone caves stands at an impressive height of over 300 meters above sea level1. Here’s why I believe it’s a must-visit:
Natural Beauty: As I stepped into the cave, I was greeted by a breathtaking sight. The stalactites hanging from the ceiling and the stalagmites rising from the ground created a surreal landscape. It felt like being in a natural cathedral, with each formation telling a story of thousands of years of geological history.
Light Show: The cave features an enchanting light show that accentuates its grandeur. The play of colors against the limestone formations adds an otherworldly touch. It’s no wonder that St. Michael’s Cave has become a popular venue for concerts, plays, and even fashion shows2.
Historical Significance: St. Michael’s Cave has a rich history. Neolithic artifacts, including a bowl, were discovered here, indicating that prehistoric humans were aware of its existence. Additionally, cave art depicting an ibex was found on one of the walls, dating back thousands of years3.
Legend and Lore: The name “St. Michael’s Cave” is derived from a similar grotto in Monte Gargano, Italy, where the archangel Michael is said to have appeared. Whether you’re a believer or not, standing in this ancient cavern evokes a sense of wonder and reverence.
In summary, my visit to St. Michael’s Cave was a truly wonderful experience. If you find yourself in Gibraltar, make sure to explore this natural wonder. It’s a testament to the Earth’s beauty and the mysteries that lie beneath our feet.

Very likely the best cave exhibition I ever saw. Not the largest but an amazing overall experience of light & sound show coupled with amazing stalactites & stalagmites. A must see when in Gibraltar!
Tips:
-wait for the white light before taking your photos. It comes for around a minute every 7 minutes. It's worth it!
-when you get to the auditorium, find a seat (plenty available) and wait for the show! Don't miss it! It's not the usual lights and relaxing sound, it's a light show and dramatic music combination. It happens every 7 minutes (followed by the white light which you should be using to take photos inside the cave ;) )
Hope this helps and enjoy!

A must visit for any visitor to Gibraltar. Saint Michael's Caves form part of a tour up the Rock where you can take in The Pillars of Hercules, the caves, the Sky Walk, the tunnels, see the monkeys and more and you get to experience the amazing views on a clear day. I would recommend you take a tour with one on the taxis who you will find either in Casemates Square or up the high street or if you are feeling very fit and adventurous then you can take the cable car to the top and walk but it's not for anyone who isn't used to alot of walking and who can walk up steep inclines. The light show in the caves is fabulous to see and really helps bring the caves to life. It takes approximately 8 minutes to watch and there is seating within the caves to watch it. There's a shop and a cafe/restaurant at the caves, where you can get refreshments during your tour and the caves provide a great stop off point on your trip up the Rock. There are also many other things to see on your tour, so please leave a good couple of hours or more to complete your tour if going in a taxi and a whole day if you plan to walk.

What a spectacular cave!! Stalagmites, stalactites, cave curtains; it had it all. And it’s spectacularly lit. It was used historically. It was first written about in 45 AD.

This was hands down the best part of the whole cave experience for us! It's so magnificent that pictures don't do justice. Don't miss the show at the auditorium played every 7 mins or so.
There's also a small cafe at the entrance serving a variety of small bites and drinks.

Very beautiful 😍!
Sadly enough we had only 20 minutes to be there because of the tour we had. And it's not enough in my opinion! The music with the show at the end is so beautiful with the combination of lights, it's magical! They really did a great job on the light work 👏 😍 and at the end of the cave there was a monkey sitting at the exit! Very nice surprise 😍
The Gibraltar Cable Car provides a mode of transportation for visitors to reach the peak of Gibraltar's Rock, with stunning panoramic views along the way. The cable car ride offers a cozy snack bar and access to St. Michael's Cave as well. While not elevated too high off the ground, it allows for a comfortable journey up without any rushing or physical exertion.
We just wanted to go up spend half and hour looking around and come back down and for that it's absolutely fantastic. Takes just a few minutes to get up see the monkeys take some photos have a cocktail up there and back down again within 45 mins. Perfect. There are a lot of tour options if you want to see more of it

Easier way to go on top platform. Tickets from 30£ (from 13yrs up).
Awesome views from all terasses, nice caves, lot of monkeys (watch your belongings), suspension bridge walk recommended.
If you are a fan of walking, buy only one way ticket, as you can walk from top in 30 minutes to the city center(Main street) combined ticket cost only +2£, when you are elderly, recommended.

To the top of the rock in 6 min! We bought the return with nature reserve. If you plan on seeing a lot of the rock, you naturally make your way down. The more of the Rock you see, the closer to the city you end up. So you may not need the Return ticket- we wouldn't get it again. You have to go back up to take the cable car back down again. We were there in the summer and it was very hot! Had to wait to board up and down. Up was longer at about 40min. Only about 7 min to come down. We also had young kids, and they had a blast. Highly recommend a trip to Gibraltar and the nature reserve.

It was fortuitous that we were waiting for an hour but then due to winds, closed for the day. Instead, found a van tour company right outside that entrance. The driver and guide-Ryan- not only spoke English and Spanish but was a delight and very knowledgeable. Take the cable car if the waits aren't too long but if you can get the right driver in the van tour, many times more fun and informative. Find Ryan!

Exciting and thrilling day out.
Paid the £34 to get free entry to everything, it’s one way so you can explore everything coming back down. You can pay the £37 two way but seems pointless.
If it’s hot like in the 30’s you must consider the heat and your fitness, it’s a tough long walk and will push the limits so take care.
Whilst legs were aching etc, it was worth every minute. The views the monkeys the caves etc all amazing and wonderful.

The ride to the top is definitely worth it! About six minutes in total, it goes very quickly and the views at the top were breathtaking. Even though we went on a cloudy day, we could still see Africa and it was so much fun to see all the monkeys. Overall, it was amazing and one of my favorite things we did on our trip. Highly recommend!
Amanda Wagner — Google review
We took the cable cars to the top, and walked down visiting all the stops. This gave us time to experience the beautiful views and monkey. We saw a group on a tour and the guide was rushing them so we were glad we took the cable cars. So we could explore by ourselves.
The Hike down can still be a lot. We enjoyed the hike but would recommend taking the cable car both ways if you don't have good shoes, have an injury or a small child.

Loved the ride up. The view is excellent. Best place to stand is on the water side. If you are planning to walk and explore the while rock... you will likely walk down so no need to purchase the 2 way fare.
Craig Storey — Google review
Think it’s def something you should do, but remember it arrives half way between a lot of the features. Monkeys were well behaved, basically only at the cafe area. We walked down so we could see a few of the things - it’s a long way!

You have to queue for 1 hour at least in the soaring heat ... better take a mini bus run by Rocky Monkeys just outside the cable car station... it's the same price 45€ and they DRIVE you everywhere and explain things! Ask for Dominic- he's a great guide!!

Nothing fancy. Just a small cable car to the top. Not very friendly staff around and on the cable car. But....... a visit to Gibraltar will certainly be worth your while. Start early en make sure to have enough water with you and good shoes. Roads can be steep and the stairs are just killing......

You can save some time by purchasing the tickets online. The waiting time was not very long once you pass the ticket office. It is windy and somewhat cold so please prepare longsleeves.
* 5/10 Bus : Return ticket is much cheaper than one way!
Jaejin Chung — Google review
The lineup for the cable car is way too long! We end up using the same amount of money to do the minibus instead. It actually is quite nice. Make sure you pick a good and polite driver though, the first one we talked to is rather aggressive and rude! Luckily, as we walked back to town, there’s another one on the way and turned out to be a remarkable experience seeing the monkeys and Africa from a distance across the sea
James Ling — Google review
Get here nice and early for opening as queues form instantly with up to an hour and a half wait in line. Be sure to buy tickets in advance to skip a section of the queue and make it onto the cable car sooner. If you're not on one, check for cruises coming in on the morning as this will make a big difference to how busy it is! Journey up to the rock takes about 6 minutes. Return ticket recommended as it's only £2.50 difference and the walk back down will be pretty tiring after a long day!
Craig Bennett — Google review
Definitly worth going up there. Dont miss to get access to the nature resort where you can see a lot of monkeys and also a great cave with a spectacular lightshow.
You are not allowed to touch the monkeys but the monkeys didnt seem to know, so they came close which was funny and lovely.
I left the car in spain and did walk to the cable car (30minutes)
Jonathan Werner — Google review
Got cable car to the top and paid the full price the attractions at the top. Glad we paid for the nature reserve bit else you just go up to one area. However, the walk back down is extremely demanding. Best tip is to wear suitable footwear like trainers or walking boots and definitely not sandals or flip flops like other people had on. Some of the paths down are quite rough under foot.
Jamie Sherwin — Google review
The ride is nice, obviously in a clear day the view is fantastic. The car is really small, I reckon we were around 12 persons in the ride. Get there early because "it's 6 minutes to climb 412 meters" but the waiting time in the heat is much much longer!
About the car park, we either didn't notice or there's no clear signage which bays to use. The yellow ones are for locals only, the white ones are free (there's no chance to get one) and the blue bays are payable. I'd say it's about 60% yellow bays and 40% the other two half and half.
Leo Chapalos — Google review
Very good service and lovely to see the Gibraltar from above. Tickets can be quite pricey.
Only downside is the nature reserve has to be bought all together. We wanted to get tickets just for the caves but it’s all included in one ticket which makes it expensive. Maybe they could also offer option for individual tickets.
Hela Lopez Mitchell — Google review
A great and effortless way to reach the tip of the Rock of Gibraltar. The ground level station is about 10 minutes on foot from the Southport Gates end of the Main Street.
A combined ticket with the Upper Rock Nature Reserve is highly recommended. The ride only takes a few minutes and gives you a great view of the Bay of Gibraltar as well as all the built-up areas on the west side of the city.
If you have the energy, you may consider buying the one way ticket up and walking down the trail on foot so that you don't need to walk back the same path specially if the Cable Car Middle Station is not opened.
Samuel Leung — Google review
Exceptional views and a quick ride up. Pretty good value for the money ($19 euro round trip). The monkeys at the top are cool as well. Not a ton of parking but if you’re patient you should be able to find a spot. Check the cable car out if you’re in Gibraltar because you won’t find these views anywhere else.
Manny Fuller — Google review
Cable car is bit expensive but worth it. The line were not so bad so we decided to wait it took 20 minutes. Up on the hill you should visit the Cave!
Kristjan Malva — Google review
Buy tickets in advance.. it saves time when you get there. We had so much fun with the monkeys.. they jump on the cable car at the top and they get very close. Do not wear anything on you that you are not willing to loose.. for example glasses, hats, hair scrunchies, etc. The monkeys will grab them and jump off the cable car. It's fun but be careful!

The easiest way to visit the Rock and enjoy the view and attractions.
The ride to the top takes about 6 minutes and the round trip is 19 GBP or 37 GBP if you purchase the Natural Reserve access too.
The cart is not large but it runs every 10 minutes. If you plan visiting all the attractions on the Rock just get the one way ticket.
Also check for maintenance days, booking tickets online is also an option. Limited parking options on site.

We used the vable car both ways. It takes 6 minutes 1 way. We arrived around 11 am early march and there were no queus and no upfront tickets. We went immediately up.

Not worth the $$$ or wait. Take one of the taxis outside. Price is comparable but experience is so much better. If you take gondola up, you need to walk down the side of a mountain to get to the tunnels and they are so worth seeing.

Free cable car if you have a restaurant reservation at mons Calpe.

The Great Siege Tunnels are an extensive network of tunnels situated within the Rock of Gibraltar, which were initially dug during the 1779-83 conflict as a means of installing guns to defend against French and Spanish attacks. Governor General Eliot ordered their construction towards the end of the siege, which contributed to eventual victory over its assailants. These tunnels were created with manual labour and are considered an engineering masterpiece.
Really long tunnel, lots to see, lots to read and learn about the history. Enjoyed the visit very much, thus would recommend for everyone. :)
Tip: recommend buying the Gibraltar Nature Reserve ticket to visit many places for the same price :)

It is incredible what length people went to in order to keep Gibraltar in their possession. It’s hard to imagine over 40km of tunnels being dug by hand through solid rock.
The different cannon locations and the stories behind them are amazing and you could easily spend hours exploring the rich history.
Make sure you leave yourself enough time in order to take in the entire experience.
This is a must do when here, even if you don’t care for history that much.

Totaly more than 50 km tunnel in the Rock. The Great Siege is ca 1,5 km. Its a Good walk in the Rock with a lots of information and cannon holes with wonderful view.

Fantastic. If you are short on time, do the great siege tunnels and skip the WW2 tunnels / Moorish castle. Well maintained, informative and fascinating history - as you walk through, just remember, this was all done hand, and so very quickly!
Soroush K — Google review
Really interesting place. You will not see some significant leftovers from the ww2, because in this part of tunnels all stuff was unmounted a long time ago, but just to walk there and imagine how people were living there, and hiding from bomb shelling is very interesting activity. Plus there is access to one of the balconies on really huge height. So I recommend visiting it. They have toilets. You need to buy ticket with access to all attractions on the mountain that costs around 19£ or ~20€.

We enjoyed the walk through the tunnels. The story boards were well done and informative. Very interesting historic site, literally in the Rock of Gibraltar.

Highly recommend for history buffs 🙂. The Tunnels were very important to Gibraltar's history. There are many chambers, signs, audio stations, original cannons, and more to explore. Entry is included in the Upper Nature Reserve fee.

Fascinating! Enjoyed the exhibits with informative signage along tunnel walls. Learned a lot about Gibraltar history and the tunnel construction in the 1700s. Great views from the cannon ports. Long walk inside the caves. Path was well lit. Admission is included with the Nature Preserve ticket.

I had the incredible opportunity to explore the Great Siege Tunnels in Gibraltar, and it was nothing short of a mesmerizing experience. These tunnels, carved into the rock during the 18th century, are a testament to human ingenuity and determination.
The historical significance of this site is awe-inspiring. Walking through the labyrinthine tunnels, I couldn't help but imagine the bravery and resourcefulness of the soldiers who built and defended them during the Great Siege of Gibraltar. The audio-guided tour provided a wealth of information, making the history come alive with vivid details.
The views from the tunnels overlooking the bay are breathtaking. It's the perfect spot to capture some stunning photographs and take in the strategic importance of Gibraltar throughout history.
The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, adding to the overall experience. I highly recommend visiting the Great Siege Tunnels to anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply seeking an unforgettable adventure. It's a historical gem that shouldn't be missed when in Gibraltar.

Very interesting, informative write-ups throughout the tunnels. I think any history buff would enjoy this. Very well done displays. Generally, mannequins are some of the most realistic I have seen in a historical site.

Is far more tourist orientated than it was when we lived and worked here in the 1980's, but the boards do provide excellent background information for anyone who doesn't know the "story" of the tunnels. Must be on the tourist trail for anyone interested in history and, obviously, in Gibraltar.
The Rock of Gibraltar is a well-known limestone promontory that boasts a nature reserve, an intricate system of tunnels, and stunning sea vistas. It is among the most popular tourist destinations in Gibraltar, and can be reached by car, taxi or cable car. Visitors can bask in the breathtaking views from the top of this towering rock structure that overlooks miles of scenery.
Visited this place in March 2019, we stayed for 4 nights.
Rock Of Gibraltar if full of history.
It's definitely worth visiting Gibraltar 👍
To get ti the Rick of Gibraltar.
At the ticket of office you can purchase a ticket for the cable cars.
Or next to it you have people with tours by car.
We took the tour by car, which I would highly recommend.
Our driver Stefano was awesome 🙌💯
He was cool, had a lot of knowledge.
We managed to see all the main attractions up there.
By foot, it is alot to walk inbetween each attraction, so you might not see all of it. So bear that in mind.
All the main attractions are amazing.
And the views are just some else when you see it for yourself.
Be careful of what you wear around the macaque monkeys.
As we were entering back in the car, my wife had a fur coat on and one if the monkeys started grabbing it 🤦♂️😂😂
Make Gibraltar a place to visit on your list 🙌💯

Worst tourist map and sign/labeling I have ever seen. The view from the top of the Rock of Gibraltar is amazing. Rest of it don't worth the afford. They give you a tourist map at the entrance of the cable car. That map totally useless. You take the cable car to the top of the rock then you start walking around the natural reserve. There is no label or sign shows you where you are. If you find a place with a name on it you feel you’re lucky but not really because that place doesn’t show on the map. I recommend, after walking around a little bit take the cable car back from the mid station. If you choose to walk all the way down, I recommend don’t do it. Because roads and steps are too steep. Your map won’t help you to find your way. If you’re late after 6 pm, local teens are drinking and partying on the way around the historical places. It might be disturbing.
Numan K — Google review
First of all, if you are going to explore any of the rock, you need to be reasonably fit. It's all steep steps, long slow climbing hills and you still need to get back down at the end of the day.
The views are amazing, the Nature Reserve full of ruins and caves, and on the other side, other things to do aplenty.
Take enough food and water for the day as there are fee places to buy and they are crazy prices. £2 for a can of coke!
It can be cold and windy so dress accordingly. And wear good shoes. The paths can be sharp stone. Flip flops or heels could cause real issues.
To come to Gibraltar and not visit the rock is like going to a restaurant and not eating. Just be careful and plan ahead.

ATTENTION: All routes up are on a ticket based entry. Which are around 20 euros.
Knowing this it is well worth going up the rock.
If you up for it take te Mediterranean steps either up or down. Or the cable car for the relaxed adventures.

The tour around the rock is not for the faint-hearted. It is very physical and energetic and this comes from 2 people aged late 40s with average fitness. Some of the paths and steps are very overgrown and uneven, so you have to be very careful where you walk. This said the views are fantastic and watching the monkey's is very funny.

Me and my family went there with an amazing guide from Morocco. Was worth it and we went there on New Year’s day and it cost to go there 25€ per person and I would definitely say it was nice. I loved the monkeys and you can get amazing photos with them when they jump on your back! Not a common experience would definitely recommend. But I definitely don’t recommend going up there by foot its too tiring plus the monkeys can steal something from you while walking there so if you decide walking be careful.

We hiked up and down the rock, £19 for admission to all the exhibits felt fair…. Cafe at the caves is a bit of a rip off though. Definitely would recommend descending the Mediterranean Steps - but only with decent fitness, appropriate footwear and a head for heights.

Did a full day on the Rock on foot. So, in order:
Got no2 bus to Garrison Gym, walked up Windmill Hill Road to Jew’s Gate, then walked up the Med Steps. Then on to O’Hara’s Battery. Took the Douglas Path to the Skywalk, then carrying on to the Ape feeding station. Back down to St. Michael’s Cave. Then the Queen’s Balcony, taking shortcut path down from here on to the Royal Anglican Way. Windsor Suspension Bridge. Joined Old Queen’s Road to the Ape’s Den. Up the first section of the Charles V wall to join the Inglis Way carrying on until its end at Bruce’s Farm. Then joined Queen’s Road all the way to the Military Heritage Centre (currently closed). Walked up to the Great Siege Tunnels. Back down to City Under Siege exhibition. WW2 Tunnels. Moorish Castle to finish. Bus no 1 from the Tank Ramp stop & back into town.
I got off bus 2 around 9.45am & was walking down the steps of the Moorish castle around 5.15pm.
A full on day & you need to be at least reasonably fit, I’m 50+ and managed it ok.
I think I got my £16 worth!

The view is incredible! You can visit taking the cable (and pick the package you want) or a few tour options you will find before you climb the rock. A lot of walking will be involved but super worth it. The views from all the sides and levels are amazing. Many natural stops that you can purchase to visit, such as: caves, tunnels, bridges and castle.
Cecilia Gillhouse — Google review
I have wanted to climb the rock of Gibraltar ever since I first heard about it years ago. So for me, my visit was highly anticipated. The Rock did not disappoint! There is a term called a “numinous experience” which describes the psychological phenomenon of feeling connected to and influenced by a higher power (think looking up at the night sky or gazing over a giant canyon). Now I’m not a religious person by any means, but I had multiple of these today.
The vistas were immaculate, and the sheer epic scale of the Rock—its caverns, its cliffs—truly stunned.
£18 gets you total access to the nature preserve, the caverns, war tunnels, and all the stairs you could ever want. Definitely worth it.
Mind the monkeys! They can get handsy if they see an abandoned bag or open food.
IMPORTANT: I hiked from sea to peak and it is not for the faint of heart. I’m 26 and in good shape. I had to push myself. It is steep and it is persistent. There’s more than one way up (and down), however. If you’re less inclined to hoof it, there are plenty of taxis, buses, and even a gondola that will take you into the nature preserve.

Took a Taxi tour in a 8 passenger van up to the top. The driver was great. He narrated all the important parts and answered questions in 4 languages. He stopped several times allowing us to get out and take pictures, stretch, walk around. Each stop was for 15-20 minutes.
The total cost of the 2+hour trip up and down the rock was 25 euros per person. The day my daughter and I took the tour the weather was unbelievably great. 10 out of 10.
Easily could see Tangier & beyond.
The next day we took the ferry over to Morocco and spent half day walking around Tangier, Beautifu
city with its white plaster home & building architecture and the unique blue waters of the Mediterranean as a backdrop. And every one so friendly & gracious, too. Highly recommend visiting, even for half a day-Well worth the time & money. Auto-ferry was under 40 euros round trip, per person, and took about 45 minutes each way crossing the strait. Last ferry returns for Gibraltar at 9pm.

For me personally, visiting & getting to the top of Gibraltar was a life long dream, on par with my climb up to the summit of Uluwu (ayers rock) in central Australia. And trekking the full length along the edge of the Cliffs of Maher in Ireland.
The Rock of Gibraltar stands as a sentinel at the gateway between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. This iconic limestone monolith, soaring to 426 meters, is steeped in history and natural beauty, offering visitors an unparalleled experience.
A journey to the Rock is a journey through time, from the ancient Phoenicians and Romans to the strategic military role it played for the British during wartime. The network of tunnels carved within it tells the story of resilience and ingenuity. The Upper Rock Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, where the famous Barbary macaques—the only wild monkeys in Europe—roam freely, adding a unique touch to the visit.
The summit provides breathtaking panoramic views that stretch across to Africa on a clear day. St. Michael’s Cave, a natural grotto turned into an auditorium, is a geological wonder with its stunning stalactites and stalagmites. The Moorish Castle and the Great Siege Tunnels are testament to Gibraltar’s turbulent past, while the flora and fauna showcase its softer side.
Visitors can ascend the Rock via cable car, offering an aerial view of the city below, or for the more adventurous, the Mediterranean Steps offer a challenging but rewarding hike. The Rock of Gibraltar is not just a tourist attraction; it’s a symbol of endurance and a crossroads of cultures, making it a must-see destination for anyone visiting the region.
In essence, the Rock of Gibraltar is a microcosm of natural splendor and historical saga, offering an experience that is both educational and awe-inspiring.

Very nice view spot if you can do hiking, cause there are lots of stairs & trails if you want to see main attractions on the Rock of Gibraltar.
There is an option to get here by cable car (19 pounds one way and 36 both ways per person).
If you decide to hike, there are entrances to the Gibraltar National Park (18 pounds per person, includes all the attractions on the Rock of Gibraltar: suspended bridge, tunnels, sky walk above the cliff, ex. batteries).
The wheelchair accessibility is possible only by cable car, and still you will not be able to see much, cause all the attractions are far away from each other, spread all over the cliff.
There is an option to come here by car too. Your own or organized by the service instead of cable car (25 euro both ways per person).
Besides the prices, the view over the city & Atlantic Ocean is not too picturesque cause there are only multi stored buildings, the view over the Mediterranean sea is very beautiful with high cliffs, but you need to hike to see it, no wheelchair accessibility.

I drove into the island, passing border control. Finding parking was hectic also pricey. At one point, I found a parking lot on a hill near a packed restaurant. Then I walked to a shuttle stop. It would help if you took their tour bus to get to the rock. Otherwise it was a long steep walk. It was a beautiful experience. There were lots of monkeys doing their thing on the top of the rock. The view was spectacular. It was a little chilly up there. It was a Sunday; everything else was closed except the rock. At the bottom, the island was filled with restaurants, shopping centers, and souvenir shops. They use British currency.

Plenty of restaurants for a pleasant evening in an attractive setting. If you go near sunset you see the sky change from bright though brief twilight to dark. But I suppose that's what a sunset is.

Puerto Deportivo de Estepona, Torre de Control, 29680 Estepona, Málaga, Spain
The picturesque waterfront promenade, known as Paseo Marítimo de Estepona, is a charming destination with a variety of dining establishments, bars, and shops. Adjacent to the popular beach called la Playa de la Rada, this palm-lined walkway offers visitors the opportunity for leisurely walks or invigorating activities such as cycling or jogging. Numerous benches are available along the pathway for resting and various vendors sell refreshing hot and cold beverages.
The promenade of Estepona is located along the beach of La Rada.
It is the longest and busiest beach, next to the town centre with a total of almost 2.5 kilometres.
It has large, spacious pedestrian areas and gardens and shelter from the sun.
We enjoyed walking along the promenade, stopping along at some of the food places located along the boulevard to enjoy coffee, and ice-cream.
We noticed they have playgrounds set up for families, which is so nice.

This area of the town is gorgeous, is about 2.5 km long, clean, upkeep, plenty of sun, enty of shade, clean water, clean bathrooms.
One side has the beach with over 100 meters of sand and the other side has stores and restaurants and bars.
Gorgeous flowers displays and gardens.
A must to visit and stay few days.

Now completely pedestrianised, is an amazing seafront promenade for families and children to enjoy.
Beautifully landscaped with mature trees and an attractive array of flowers is an enjoyable space to enjoy the outdoors and the beach.
There are plenty of places to sit, drink and eat. No shortage of clean public toilets.
Well done to the council for creating this traffic free space for people to enjoy 😊

P.º Marítimo Pedro Manrique, 29680 Estepona, Málaga, Spain
Plaza de las Flores, located just a short walk from Plaza de las Flores, is a stunning stretch of shoreline with immaculate golden sands and clear turquoise waters. Unlike its more famous neighboring beaches in Marbella, Fuengirola, and Torremolinos, this beach remains relatively unspoiled by tourists. If hunger strikes, there are numerous chiringuito bars along the coastline that serve excellent beer, tapas, and seafood.
One of the most beautiful tourist squares in Estepona.
Its typical andalusian decoration is simply inspiring, with several bars & "tapas" plus restaurants around it.
I always have a tour guide here(start point) every Friday. Been 2 years I have been visiting Estepona and never seem to have enough of its attractions.

Such an iconic little square to feel you are really away from home (in a good way) and can sit back and soak in the atmosphere of southern Spain. But not for too long because your pre-teens are getting bored. Wish I'd had more time to enjoy this place.

The Plaza de las Flores is in the heart of Estepona old town. It is a beautiful square with a lovley fountain surrounded by flower gardens and cobbled streets. Various bars and restaurants give it a fantastic atmosphere. I particularly like the bar which is self service, the owner has collected money from all over the world and set them in the bar top and picture frames. Relax and soak up a traditional Spanish town.

The Centro Histórico de Estepona is a beautiful historic landmark in the city of Estepona, located on a pedestrian street lined with flower pots. It is home to many murals and cultural pieces, as well as quaint eateries and cafes. The old town is well worth visiting for its charming aesthetic, and it is also a great place to explore the city centre.
Very pretty part of Estepona. We enjoyed strolling around in the little alleys, viewing the beautiful flower arrangements on the buildings. Many nice restaurants in the areas. The old town is well worth visiting. It’s a beautiful piece of an otherwise not-so-spectacular city.

A lovely place to be! Oozing charm, and speckled with some excellent Tapas Bars and restaurants. Estepona is looking great, and the recent addition to the Garden Atmosphere on the Seafront is both tasteful and forward thinking, and really add to the Charm of this town! It has a real pride of place about it, clearly its inhabitants love their town! and so do all visitors by the looks of it..
The contemporary botanical garden in Estepona features a collection of orchids and various other flowers, showcased within three glass domes. The venue also boasts a captivating waterfall. Scattered throughout the town, Estepona showcases an array of impressive murals created by different artists on different buildings' exteriors in various neighborhoods. These unique artworks, of exceptional quality and originality, enhance the appeal of Estepona for both locals and tourists alike.
Visited this place many times. It is beautiful. Really gives you this feeling of being in the tropical garden somewhere in Thailand.
Last night this has it open for the museum night and as there is no artificial light we felt like we ended up in a jungle at night. Great experience. I highly recommend

A small but beautiful place...very fitting for a town that clearly loves flowers and adorns itself with them on every street. Even in mid-december there was plenty to see for those who love plants and have a keen eye. Part of it was closed and I still really enjoyed my visit

What a little gem, we learnt a lot about the different species of Orchids thanks to Alba and Ana who took the time to show us round and point out orchids that we would never have known were Orchids! It was great to understand that every month there will be different flowering orchids, around 130 varieties each month. The entrance fee is only €3. We will certainly go back to see different varieties. Thanks Alba & Ana for taking the time to talk us through the species you made it very interesting 🥰

Even in November there was plenty to see. Look for the little and tiny ones. Deep inside the building is a secret tropical oasis hiding. Very enjoyable visit. I was hopping to buy few different orchids but no sale shop or gift shop provided 🤔
Gabriela Green — Google review
A fantastic place, small but beautifully formed with a wonderful waterfall. With over 50 species of Orchids obviously its impossible they will all be in flower at the same time but at 3€ entry it's hardly breaking the bank.
It might be an idea to include a photo next to each flower of what a flower would look like.
A nice way to spend the morning :)

Amazing place if you like orchids. The only minus that part of it was closed for some construction works.
Will be definitely back in different seasons to see other species in bloom.

Definitely should be on your list of places to visit in Estepona, such a beautiful building and the orchidarium is absolutely fantastic! It was only €3 per adult and took roughly 30-60 mins to walk around. So many varied species of orchids as well as other plants and thoroughly enjoyed, does also have a ramp and lift for disabled access.

Great place to spend an hour or so with kids, cheap entry price 3 euro for adults and a euro for kids. There is underground parking nearby offe Calle Mallorca, just a couple of minutes walk, a bit closer than the beachside underground parking. Recommend it to anyone visiting Estepona

Amazing place, definitely a must! We came down from Marbella to visit it and definitely worth it. Only 3 euros for entree too. Not all orchids in bloom at the moment, but plenty of other plants to look at. It's 1 way system so take your time looking around.
Jovita L. — Google review
Delightful, charming, the right side for this kind of thing.
But it needs more information, there is very little. They say they can’t give more info because the orchards change so often.
We had to figure out that the orchards were growing on fake trees, it doesn’t give basic information about what an orchard is.
Walter Finch — Google review
Wow! And I'm not a fan of plants. My mom and other plant and orchid enthusiasts would just move in if they went there, I think. Lovely.
We did this hiking walk from El Bosque Town to Benamahoma. The entrance was not well signposted on the El Bosque town side if you are a tourist in the area, but we asked 2 local ladies who gave us ample instructions. This is a walk that you must not miss if you are in the area. The nearer you got to Benamahoma, the more beautiful the river became. The walk is fairly simple, although some areas might be more tricky if you have mobility issues. It was supposed to take about 2 hours at a comfortable pace, but we stopped several times to admire the areas and the beautiful birds. On reaching Benamahoma, there are public toilets very clean and well kept. Restrictions in the area are no swimming in the river or putting up picnic chairs, etc.
Annabelle Codali — Google review
We loved this short route. We did it by road bikes (bad idea, we had to carry them most of the way) but it's a medium difficult path on foot. And the possibility of cooling yourself in the brook is exceptional! Just please take your garbage with you!
Viktor Kaposi — Google review
Awesome trail along the stream (officially a river) from Benamahoma to El Bosque, about 10 km round trip. The trail is shaded along much of it's route which helps keep it cool even on a hot day (is was 30+ degrees when we walked it but with the shade it was fine). There are some rocky sections and stone stairs so you need to be in reasonable shape but in general an easy trail.
Dave Chapman — Google review
Nice easy walk. Lot's of shade cover. Avoid at the weekends as it can get very busy.

Dave Gerke — Google review
Great hiking trail along the river. Quite easy, though some of the areas were slightly challenging (steps).
Clara DV — Google review
Great route, but start early to enjoy it on your own! The route indicates that it is 5km each way and takes 2 hours each way. However we completed the 10km in roughly 2h45 and we don't walk fast.
We started the route at 8:30am on a Saturday, and I would recommend anyone to do the same. By 11am all the large groups of walkers were out, and that ruins the tranquility, on a Sunday this would be even worse.
Start at Benamahoma, walk to El Bosque, have a coffee in the cafeteria at the end of the walk in El Bosque, then head back to Benamahoma and the bar at the end opens about 11:30am.

Avenida del Mar is a lively walkway adorned with palm trees and scenic sea views. It is a popular street that connects the old town to the sea front, featuring an entrance through a beautiful shaded area with fountains and seats decorated in colourful Andalusian tiles. Visitors can also find unique sculptures by Salvador Dali along the way, making it worthwhile to stop by and take a closer look. The street is well maintained, offering various seating areas for visitors to relax and enjoy the view.
Avenida del Mar is a modern pedestrian street that leads to one of the more popular beach spots in Marbella. In the land of overdevelopment, this street sets an example for others that try and fail to be attractive and modern at the same time. There's a series of sculptures in the middle of the street that are mostly attributed to Dali. Whether they are by or inspired by the artist is a minor debate or a major controversy, depending on who you ask.

I spent one week cycling in Ronda with ACE in September 2022. It’s an amazing experience: beautiful landscape, smooth paved roads with rolling hills and climbs, white villages in mountains and valleys, olive and chestnuts groves, national parks covered with acorn trees, AND kind and patient drivers who respect cyclists!
Communication with Ashley of ACE was easy and effective. Drew, the guide, was fun to ride with - I just wished I could climb as well as him!! Accommodation in Ronda is centrally located and convenient for everything needed by a traveller.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves cycling!

I had a great week with Andalucian Cycling Experience. Decent hotel (hotel Polo) with very friendly staff and a great breakfast buffet. Road biked for 4-6 hours every day in mid-March 2024 doing up to 96km and up to 2,000 meter of elevation gain. Definitely challenged my abilities at 60 years old. Beautiful landscape and villages, great routes and Ashley, Drew and the rest of the team did an excellent job organizing and guiding us. The rental bike was great. I highly recommend ACE and will for sure return.

We just finished a wonderful cycling adventure with Andalucian Cycling Adventures(ACE) through the Andalucian “white villages”. Great new bikes, fitted before we started, carried us along challenging, yet stunningly beautiful, planned routes on our self-guided tour. The hotels were excellent and accented by proprietor-operated personal attention. Generous breakfasts, cultural stops and info about where to dine was all part of the package. We’re coming back and highly recommend this operator.

What a great holiday, I took my grown up daughter on a 6 day trip with Andalusian Cycling Experience. The trip was very well organised; Ashley, the owner, arranged our itinerary to suit our needs. The transfer from the airport to Ronda was on time and Drew from ACE gave us lots of information. The bikes were new, and set up ready for us, one hybrid and one electric. We had chosen the White Village Tour, going from village to village with our bags transported each day. The bags arrived at each hotel before us and the directions for each day were absolutely spot on, easy to follow and very detailed. The directions also mention places to stop en route, favourite cafes, and tapas bars. Each day the route was on very quiet roads with hardly any traffic, great views and superb surfaces. The few cars that did pass were very considerate and gave a wide berth, better than any other location I have cycled.
My daughter had not cycled much, and the electric bike was perfect, she could ascend all the hills without trouble. My bike had a massive range of gears and performed impeccably. We had chosen to upgrade our Ronda hotel at the start and finish of the holiday, this was excellent, great swimming pool, super views and great staff.
A wonderful holiday, and I thoroughly recommend Andalusian Cycling Experience. Thank you Ashley, Drew and Claire.

Everything about my holiday with ACE was five stars, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great cycling experience. This was my first cycling holiday as I am new to road cycling. Ashley and Drew were extremely helpful and supportive. They orangised the cycles each day based on my abilities and went out of their way to ensure I was having a great experience. They cater for everyone so if you are looking for an active holiday on two wheels in beautiful scenery then ACE is perfect for you. I stayed in Hotel San Francisco which was perfect - great breakfast and wonderful location. Ronda is a great spot to be based - lovely food and lots of things to see/do. Really good value for money too. Can't wait for my next trip back!

Outstanding Rental!
I've been working in the cycling industry for ten years so I feel as though I can tell a great shop apart from others. This is one of those great shops, as well as some of the best roads I've ever ridden.
The bike I rented was perfect and the ride recommendation was no different.

Fabulous time cycling. My wife and I had a great two weeks with Ashley and Drew at Andalucian Cycling Experience. They took fantastic care of us. Some days we rode with the group and other days they gave us GPX routes. They gave us structure when we wanted it and an opportunity to explore when we wanted that. All the rides were beautiful, fantastic roads, well curated and well thought out. They provided short and long options. Very responsive. Set us up with a great hotel (Catalonia Reina Victoria in Ronda) and made our trip outstanding. Really liked Ronda as a location to be based, the drivers are courteous, and the roads are amazing. I would recommend without hesitation.

I had an amazing week's road cycling around Ronda with ACE. My whole trip was well organised so communication, transfers and accommodation were all excellent and I was well supported by my guide Drew who ensured I got the most out of my week. Stunning scenery, great roads and wonderful coffee stops. I can really recommend ACE and hope to return.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ashley & Clare. They did an amazing job putting together a three & a half week custom, self guided road cycling tour for us. Communication was always prompt. Bikes were in excellent condition. The routes were easy to follow. I always felt safe. I had a long list of what we wanted & did not want - ACE delivered. I have now cycled in 29 countries & this trip is certainly in the top 3.

Me and a friend had an incredible week cycling with Andalucian Cycling Experience. The routes picked out by Ashley and the team were amazing. Accomodation was also great. We travelled with our bikes but next time we would probably rent from ACE. Honestly cannot reccomend enough!

I had a fantastic experience with Andalucian Cycling Experience. I am an amateur road racer in the US and wanted a week of training before the spring season to improve my endurance and climbing skills (and of course to ride in gorgeous southern Spain). I rode with Andalucian Cycling for one week with Ashley. There were three other riders who signed up that week and we were able to choose from two pace groups each day. Ashley took us on a different route every day with lengths around 80-100 km and provided a great pace that wasn't too aggressive but also challenged us (he is an incredible cyclist who seems to never get tired!). We had one rest day in the middle of the week and all of the rides included at least one coffee / toast stop. I had such a great time on this week of riding and felt like it helped me become a stronger rider, especially on long climbs. I rented a Wilier road bike, which was comfortable and fast. Ashley also set me up with housing in Ronda, which was a beautiful, newly-renovated apartment within walking distance of the historic core of Ronda. Ronda is such a lovely town to stay in and has great food options, beautiful surroundings and few tourists (at least in the winter). I will absolutely return to ride with Andalucian Cycling Experience again and 100% recommend it to other cyclists who are looking to enjoy beautiful scenic rides, improve their fitness and become stronger racers.

I've almost finished a perfect week's Gravel biking in Ronda. I'd recommend this family firm who are professional and can tailor the distance to your needs.
The transfer to and from Malaga airport was seamless, the accommodation was clean modern and only a 5 minute walk from the bike shop. And the rides and gravel were great!

Cycled with Ash and Drew in the Algarve, Portugal last week. Great trip through our cycling club (TCR). Happy with the routes, coffee stops, top notch rental and all. We had a 55 km group and 80+ km group.

This was our first cycling holiday but won't be our last. We went on the leisure cycling experience in a small group of 6. Ashley was a perfect guide, responsive and very helpful and accommodating. We both started on hybrid bikes but my wife was able to upgrade to an e-bike for 3 days. Some of the cycle rides were to and from Ronda but we also got taken a bit further by van to get out into some beautiful countryside and mountain villages. The accommodation was perfect for us at the hotel San Francisco with a comfortable bed, a hearty breakfast to start the day and a sunny roof terrace to relax on at the end of the day. Thanks Ashley and Claire for arranging an amazing holiday!
Bioparc Fuengirola is an animal park that focuses on animals in naturalistic enclosures. It has a recreated jungle clearing and a kids' play area. The zoo was not always a pleasant place for the animals, but in 1998 Rain Forest took over the zoo and made it into one of the best animal parks in Spain.
"In the middle of it all, still enjoyable."
I usually don't like zoos (for obvious reasons) but this one had a charm and a caring beyond the rest.
Totally recommend. Good price (both entrance and indoor snack/drinks), amazing "shows" and nice staff.
If you are in Fuengirola and like/love/adore animals. Do go here 🦁

An absolutely beautiful zoo, well worth the visit.
Plenty of animals in beautiful, spacious surroundings. The zoo isn't large, but you can easily spend 2 - 3 hours in here. Plenty variation of animals (birds, gorillas, tigers, monkeys, hippos etc.) in lovely surroundings. Good facilities and you can bring your own food and drinks into the zoo.
It never felt too busy and we really like the animal enclosures. It just felt really peaceful. There also was plenty of shade in the zoo, necessary when it gets very warm.
Parking is available in the parking garages next and opposite the zoo and you get a 50% discount when you validate your ticket on exit of the zoo. We paid 3 euros for a 3 hour visit.
Book online and check Groupon Spain as they sometimes have discounts. Definitely worth a visit!

The best zoo I've ever been to! The animals have plenty of space and hiding spots, but they're easy to spot. Even walking around the zoo is a big part of the experience, such beautiful plants and decorations. We were lucky to find coupons so the entries were only 15€ pr. person, super cheap.

Second visit here and it just gets better!
Amazing amount of animals, can see them close up without wire fences in the way!
Cafe has nice food/coffee.
They are extending it so will be back to visit when that is complete.

First time here was 2008. Now the 2nd time here with kids. They loved it and so did I. I even saved around 20€ with a promo poster I found on the door of a nearby store. I just had to take a photo of it and show it at the cashier's.
I think the place is well designed for the amount and comfort of the animals. The grounds and details were spot-on.
Some seemed a bit stressed but it's understandable.

Bioparc Fuengirola is a must-visit destination for animal enthusiasts and families alike. While the entry fee may be a bit higher these days, the experience is worth it. The park offers a wide variety of animals, and I was pleased to see that all of them were out and visible during my visit.
The naturalistic habitats provide a fantastic setting for observing the animals, and the views are simply stunning. It's a great opportunity for both kids and adults to learn about wildlife and conservation.
For families with children, this place is a winner. The kids will be thrilled to see so many animals up close and will surely have a memorable and educational experience.
In conclusion, despite the slightly higher cost, Bioparc Fuengirola delivers an enjoyable and enriching outing. I recommend visiting this park for a fun-filled day with a lot of animals and beautiful views.

Very nice! A bit expensive for a zoo but you can find discount vouchers here from leaflets and stores so you don’t have to pay full price. 25€/ adult or 18€ / pensioner or child. Animals were mostly sleeping in the shadows but its understandable because of the heat. Nice experience and very well taken care of park. I would definetly recommend visiting if you are going to Fuengirola.

Really good afternoon out did cost a bit much to go in about 85 Euros for a family of 4 but lots of animals inside. We saw crocodiles, hippos, flamingos, tigers, gorillas and lots more. They show was great kids loved the birds flying over their heads. Great park but the gorillas were their fave the baby interacting by the viewing window made their day

Such a beautiful little zoo. Pretty, lush surroundings with large, well thought out areas for the animals. A very peaceful place tastefully and thoughtfully designed. Many different species of birds, fish, animals, plus a cafe and gift shop. Easy to walk round and wheelchair/ disabled friendly. Highly recommend. Ticket prices often discounted. Check their website.

Nice food. With child menu there is additional giraffe mask. Toilets are clean. There could be more animals, but anyway a lot to see. Visited show with birds and small animals. Spent 4 hours.

This zoo is really something different in the middle of houses, buildings, the town and the road running past. You wouldn't expect it to be where it was and it was incredible inside.
The enclosures and environment for the animals were clean, fresh and felt like home for the animals.
They had a variety of animals and some I've never seen before in my past zoo visits elsewhere. I've attached a map to show you the idea of the type of animals you'd see. The Tigers and leopard were my favourite but also enjoyed the baby orangutan!
Wheelchair accessible and pushchair accessible. Toilets. 2 cafes. Play area. Gift shop.
Can either buy tickets online, information points or on the door.
There is also a hop on hop off bus/train available

This zoo is first class. The animals look fit and well in their fantastic enclosures. Clearly there has been a great amount of thought into making the zoo good for animals and customers alike. There is plenty of shade and set on numerous paths to enjoy the experience. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Thank you for a great time..

A great zoo experience with interesting animals. The zoo was tidy and there was no limit on how long you could spend there so you wouldn’t feel as if you were being rushed. They had lemurs and birds able to roam free and come up to you which was really cool definitely would recommend a visit

I am not a fan of animals in captivity, however, this was an excellent experience with magnificent buildings and well maintained public and animal enclosures. The entire concept was brilliant. Lovely cafeteria with plenty of seating, and what appeared to be a restaurant. I, along with my daughter and another family member spent four hours there. Easy underground parking within metres. The discount coupon made the parking pleasantly cheap. I highly recommend this place, and it is a wonderful day out. I would go again at a moments notice.

I’ve visited loads of zoos across the UK, this was up there with one of the best I’ve visited. It is a small zoo, having a good look at all the animals we spent 3 hours and saw everything (except the shy leopard)
The enclosures are very well designed, several species share the same space to make for a very natural experience. Don’t miss the shows they are fantastic, much better than the ones in the uk.
Only thing I would say is that for the experience it is quite expensive.

This was the most impressive kind of zoo I’ve ever visited. The animals don’t look caged and looks like well treated. We saw many workers going around and taking care of things. Nice description next to each animal place. Really enjoyed it! You can easily spend there 1,5-2 hours without feeling it!

So pleased we came across this gem. Was so much better than expected, we could have spent hours however turned up an hour and a half before closing. Just managed to get around, although missed a few animals due to them going to rest. Every enclosure is unique and lends it's self to the animals habitat, the enclosures house more than one animal making it more natural. Just beautiful, I hate visiting somewhere that puts money making before the animals. This place is definitely putting the animals first 10/10. Would come to Spain so see this again.

I had the pleasure of visiting this small zoo park, and it turned out to be a delightful and cozy experience. Despite its modest size, the park has a unique charm. One of the standout features is how various animals coexist harmoniously, creating a wonderful sense of synergy among them.
Participating in the Lemur feeding session was an absolute highlight. Getting up close to these charismatic creatures and sharing a moment with them was truly special. Additionally, the bird performance was captivating, showcasing the intelligence and talents of these feathered residents.
The inclusion of a restaurant and a kids' playground inside the park is a thoughtful touch, ensuring that visitors of all ages can have an enjoyable time. It's a great place to spend a day, appreciating both the natural beauty of the animals and the convenience of on-site amenities. If you're seeking a cozy and entertaining outing, this zoo park is certainly worth a visit.
Laimonas Guiga — Google review
It was a beautifully presented zoo. Very clean and every enclosure had shade, trees and water, some with waterfalls, the sound would help to reduce the noise of the visitors for the animals. A small area where you could walk thru the Lemur enclosure. My only concern was the tigers and apes didn't have a larger area to run around in.

Amazing place , yes it isn't massive ,but the variety of Rare animals will leave you speechless. I have always dreamed of seeing Arapaimas , or Cassowaries and guess what , they have them out there ! On top of that Gorillas , Orangutans , Chimps , Tigers and a real Komodo Dragon. Lemurs watching at 11am daily , is a must see , as they are so funny and charming. The kids were very happy, and amazed. It's a really lovely charming place , The coffee in the restaurant tastes great , and the toilet's facilities are clean and modern. Also the location of this garden in the centre of Fuengirola, makes it easy to access , it's open from 10am and you will need about a half a day to view it all and you still manage to hit your dinner in the hotel at 3pm :). Great Day out.

Both were at the back and had fantastic views, either on a nice little plaza with a fountain or over the roofs to the sea from a nice terrace. Nothing to be said about the service, the help for luggage, the cleaning or other services. Susanna, the lady owner is the most charming host you can dream of. The bus stop Teleférico Benalmádena is a great place to get out and see the city from up high. The ride up the mountain is an amazing experience, with great views of the coast of Malaga, Gibraltar, and the African coast.
Omg, one of the best but scariest things I have ever done. The journey up was terrifying for me, my kids loved every minute. The journey down was not as bad. My only criticism is that you need proper shoes when walking around the top. The views just stunning, the staff really pleasant. The journey is not for the faint hearted but worth every penny. Highly recommend.

I found the cable car to be an excellent experience, The views from the top are definitely worth seeing. However I found experience to be very expensive, Especially as at the top only one of the three views is accessible with wheelchair or pushchair. The cable car in yourself needs repair, it is very difficult to see outside the windows.
Jit S Johal — Google review
Hugely enjoyable ride up to the top, especially for kids.
There’s limited you can do at the top apart from hiking (not ideal with young children) and the birds of prey show, so it may be worth timing your trip up to coincide with the show.
The show itself was great. It costs £5 per adult extra but well worth it. Very impressive performance and we would definitely recommend it. Our 2 year old was gripped!

We went on a windy summer day this June and it was perfect. There were four of us which was just right for one cable car. The views were breathtaking. The cafe was already closed by the time we finished our hike up the vista point. We took a later time so as not to be too hot. A must see when in the area.

Amazing! you have the feeling that you are climbing the mountains, riding in a taxi))) you are a little scared of the pickup truck, where the car stops))
Was wonderful the feeling of climbing a big mountain over 2500 meters above sea level, if I'm not mistaken, by taxi))). By the time we got to the top, we had stunning views across the coast that beckoned to catch the sun from multiple vantage points. A variety of activities, such as the bird show (which I saw was), horses and authorized for stargazing, because these places open until 11 at night i believe , more In short, a very good experience, especially would be good as a hike! that would be wow!! It is a Must! Love this type of walking!❤️

Loved this. Cable car ride is amazing, it goes over an abandoned theme park, over a motorway and finally up a sheer cliff face.
After that you can climb to the top and take photos. Mind your step, some of the rocks can be skippy.
Took in the bird show, this was great and a fun way to spend our time at her top.
Then it was back down to earth. Awesome half day excursion.

Great experience, from the beach you can walk 30 minutes or take the bus 103 to Teleférico. We bought the tickets from a tourist office and was a little cheaper. In 15 minutes you are up and there you have metal stairs up and down. There is a falconry show twice a day, we saw the one at 1 pm (you enter with the cable car ticket).
dan ruget — Google review
This is a must when at Costa del Sol. The ride is great, the view is fantastic and you can top it all with a cold beer up there.
Morten Andersen — Google review
Highly recommendable. Comes with a Falcon show as well which is not included in the cablecar ticket ( show costs 5 euros for adults, 3 for kids), shows are always at 1 and 3pm. So, if you have kids, chose your time around the shows since small kids won't be able to walk the interesting but small and somehow tricky pathways around the mountain.
Daniela amritha — Google review
Great 15 minutes ride to the top of the mountain in a cable car, then just a few minutes walk to the very top. Amazing scenery on the way up and even better views at the very top, 360 views. Staff very friendly and help you in and out of the cable cars. Great experience, highly recommend
Ian Beckly — Google review
The cable car journey to the mountain's peak is a captivating experience that lasts about 15 minutes, offering breath-taking panoramic views throughout. The vistas from the top are nothing short of spectacular, making the ride worth every moment.
Upon reaching the summit, a café awaits, providing a delightful spot to unwind and soak in the stunning surroundings. For the more adventurous, there are hiking paths that offer fantastic sea views, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the visit.
While the cable car ride itself is a treat, the extra cost for the Prey bird show might be a consideration for some.
Nevertheless, the overall experience is a fantastic blend of natural beauty and optional adventure, making it a recommended excursion for those seeking a picturesque escape.

Fantastic park with wildlife and well maintained/ heavy-duty exercise equipment. Beautifully manicured. Children will love the playgrounds.

Aqualand Torremolinos is a large family-focused water park with lots of slides, rapids, and a surf beach area with wave machine. It's one of the larger aquaparks on the Costa del Sol and is located just ten minutes from the center of Torremolinos.
What an amazing day we had.
I would recommend getting the fast pass on arrival though as you get to go on 3 times the amount of rides that you would without it. Quite pricey but so worth it!!!
Bring your own lunch as the price of food is extortionate 😅🤣I wish I had known this before arriving.
Also the ground is hot so it's worth bringing water shoes that you can wear all day 👌👍

Variety of slides and pools for all ages.
I didn't find the floor smooth enough and all family had painful feet at the end of the day.
No water fountains. We've bought the fast track option as otherwise you will spend too much time queueing. Please bring some food - sandwiches, chocolate bars etc and drinks. Food available in snack bars is rather disappointing and expensive.
You will need change for sun loungers.
I would come back.
Enjoy.

Had a fun day. The rides that were open were fun. Lifeguards where very strict, but that is a good thing! Overall it was clean, but this could be better. Not so good were the prices. You pay for park entrance, parking, a small locker (6 euros!), 7 euros for a longer and if you want a picture (which was taken professionally) its 10 euros for 1 picture. Better bring your own food. We had a quiet day and did not wait for long. If it is a busy day, i think the queues are long. Except of course if you....pay extra.
All together fun, but very commercially driven.

Disappointed ☹️ the park is good with a lot of slides, but they want you to buy fast pass so you can play more with no waiting, the normal one is very limited and you can’t get it easy. Very bad experience, we just stayed for two hours, and we left. The tickets are not cheap 30€ for adults and 22 for children. Not worth it at all.

Had a really nice time, rides were very good and a mixture of thrill rides and family ones. Lockers are 6 pound but you need to give 5 deposit. Sunbed use also costs more and fast pass is 18.00. The fast pass system is odd but works, there are more fast pass floats and mats meaning no queuing at this stage but it doesn’t get you to the front competent just missing a very large portion.
The restaurant was a real let down, expensive and such slow service food was cold before we could pay. The queues were out the restaurant for the food but staff just shrugged their shoulders.

Not a cheap day out.
Good slides. Shady places to rest.
Lockers €5 refund.
Arrive at 10, get Fast Pass. Do slides first thing. Don't bother with pass after midday as you have to push past other users which is awkward.

Everything is dirty and half of the slides aren’t even open…out some slides you see plants growing out and the stairs are very old, rusty and dangerous!! The parc is to overpriced (€32 each). And for a locker you have to pay €6!! If you want to sit you have to pay another €5!
This parc is not good and I do not advise you to come here…when we said all of these to the owners and they where very rude to us and didn’t pay us back!!!

Came at the end of April on Friday. We were there at 10 am. Best choice ever. No queues, no need to pay extra for fast passes and so on. BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS!!! We weren't sure if we could rent or what. But you need to buy one if you have none. If you want a locker fornyour stuff - €11 in total (gives 5 back when you bring the key back and locer size you can fir a school bag in it and a pair of shoes, that was the size of them). Sun beds from €5 per bed. Bring your own food unless you wanna spend a fortune. No alcohol allowed. A lot of people were smoking where they were sitting, and it seemed like it was allowed. We did have fun even tho water was a bit cold for 10 am, but it was worth it.

Overall a five star rating. Some good advice when going though:
When you get there we couldn’t find any maps, so we spent ages walking around to find the lockers, turns out that they are at the front gate just to the left as you walk in, inside the toilet block.
You pay for the lockers at the shop straight in front as you walk in. Lockers are €11 but you get €5 back at the end.
When you first enter the park the white slides immediately to your left (there’s a pair of them only short) do not go on this ride with bare skin, the shoots are so rough, like sandpaper, me and my son both had scratched and bleeding backs from it.
Sun loungers were 5 euros each, you just pick one and sit on it, the people come round every now and then and take the money for them and put a sticker on the back to prove you’ve paid.
We went on the first day of the season and it was very quiet so didn’t need fast passes, almost everything was open, we had a great time and I highly recommend visiting, yea it’s a bit expensive to get in, but we were on holiday so didn’t care. Staff were all very professional and helpful.

Great day out. I think 34Euro for the ticket is a little overpriced as you have to pay for a sun lounger when in 7 each and food was dear, 40 euros for a pizza and salmon poke bowl and 2 drinks. Service is quite good you just help yourself as they fill the shelves with freshly cooked food. I had a good time going down some of the slides but did queue for 30 mins or so for the popular ones. Even people with fast pass bands seemed to be in our queue until the top where you split into a quicker one so that doesn’t seem worth the extra cost as you don’t save much time. Our 1 year old had a good time and there’s some nice pools to chill out in, in the heat. Would go back when she’s old enough to go on some slides.

This water park was sadly the worst that we've ever visited. There was no organisation of the rides or where to queue and which floats were for which ride. A few times we queued to be told that we had the wrong inflatable for that ride, frustrating when 1/2 and hour before we used the same inflatable ring.
This park has a premium price tag for something that is seriously outdated. Definitely not worth the entry fee.
We visited during Easter holidays which should be busy for them. There was nowhere near the number of staff required to supervise and manage the slides. At one point we were given the go-ahead to go down a flume when we could hear people in it shouting that they were stuck in it.
We will not be back and feel cheated out of the €108 entry cost for three people.

Great slides. Lots to do for all ages. Paying 5eu for a sunbed was unexpected and the fast food kiosks are expensive and not very good. Bit pricey to get in so go for the whole day and take drinks and snacks. Also no spectator option

We had a really enjoyable day here and all the rides were in operation from what we could see! We got in early and the first hour the queues for rides were fine and then after that it got pretty busy and long waits so we did buy a fast pass (in years gone by we have 4 kids and could never afford this, but we are down to just having the youngest with us) so with only having to buy one it did make it much more enjoyable for him, it was €18 to buy in the park and I'm pretty sure online it was around €12 so maybe check that if your thinking of going down that line!!! Plenty of shade and sunloungers but again had to pay to rent each one €5-€7 they varied in price! We took a pack lunch, There is food & refreshments there but they are expensive €12 for 3 cokes so if you're prepared for these extra costs then you'll hopefully have a great time

Good selection of rides with a a big area for kids and toddlers, however you have to buy a fast pass ticket to jump the long queues which makes it double the entry price €30 entry and €28 fast pass each. No fast pass required if you only have toddlers. Lockers are very small so can only fit small bags. Food is a bit pricey but as expected in such venues.

Went with family for a day out, tickets are quite pricey at €34 for adults and €26 for children.
Once in you’ll have to buy a sun lounger which will cost you another €7 per bed.
You can also buy lockers inside.
The park itself is good but is extremely busy and you can cue for a longtime for your term. (You can buy a fast pass for €12 which speeds some slides up)
If you’re going to visit I suggest taking your own lunch, snacks and drinks in cooler boxes.
The food is way too expensive, we paid €20 euros for a burger with a drink, pizzas are the same price.
The very best fun on four wheels - EVER! Such an amazing adventure, we've done two different tours and the guides were both fantastic. Can't recommend this enough!

Definitely a experience not to be missed. Sue and Darren's expert knowledge of the surrounding areas coupled with their friendly and relaxed approach make these quad bike tours something to remember.
Your safety is at the forefront at all times but not to the detrement of enjoying the amazing quad bikes, which after a quick but thorough tutorial, you're in total control of.
Once you set off and your off of the main roads the tour really comes into it's own, taking in the stunning views of the mountains and lakes and really experiencing rural Andalusia.
Cannot be recommend highly enough.
