Went to get car detailed because of sand and decided to eat breakfast. It was across the way while my car was done. Let the kids play in their mini park.

Great shopping time with my family. We found clothes, accessories, toys and food. Even our toddler enjoyed the facilities.

Just like in the states but a smaller version of it, been there since they first built it and it's well maintained, sadly some stores has closed but its happening on every mall on the island, at least the majority of the stores are there especially some stores that has been closed on other malls. The food court is very limited but there's other options around the mall, the parking is good also security, it's a great place to shop or window shop.

I loved this mall has a lot of shops and other small kiosks it has pretty much about anything in this place also it has a park so it's kid friendly to say the least

Great place to shop. Has stores for every style. Also very close to the major expressway so it’s easy to get in and out. There is a movie theater nearby and even a few pharmacies. The exterior looks really nice and reminds me of the Orlando Premium Outlets.

This outlet mall is one of my favorites due to they always have unbeatable prices, when it comes to their NIKE store! I live 45 minutes away & think it's well worth the drive. A pair of $200 Nike Zoom sneakers for only $37!!! You can't ever beat that! Awesome selection at Adidas as well. ALL Stan Smith's <green back -Obama's> $25 on sale! Then to top it off, at Adidas when you spend more than $50 you get a pair of Reebok Classic's for FREE!!! <week I went, please ask if offer is still available>

Great prices and easy to access from the highway! A plus for me, people and merchants are very friendly 😊

There are lots of stores here, the area always looks clean and well taken care of. The bathrooms were also taken care of. There are a lot of places to shop here, like shoes stores, clothing stores for women and men, perfume shops, the cell phone covers and keychaing kiosks you see in most malls. There's also a food court in the mall where you can grab lunch, dinner, a snack, and even some ice cream when it's hot outside.

Love this place. Had some great cappuccino and did some shopping.

Good variety of stores, ample parking and great bathroom facilities, very clean. Several stores actually had really good deals. Food court has many options to choose from.

Nice outlet mall in Puerto Rico. Good amount of stores to select from. Offers a nice day destination to shop, eat and explore away from San Juan. We stopped in many stores and there is both Spanish and English speaking folks to assist you. You can find some good deals, just have to look. Pricing is not significantly better than in the US so if you have luggage space a good stop.

Absolutely one of my favorite malls to visit including the continental US. Wonderful shopping, decent prices and a splash of color. The experience is like no other, something you can’t miss when visiting Puerto Rico!

Nice shopping place
Great place to shop for kids and find them unique items not available everywhere else. Military discount available in some if not most stores, just ask or look for a star with flag colors inside. Food court restaurants are not all back but four are available along with the others in the common areas at the end of the buildings. Comfortable shoes, sunglasses, hat and sunblock recommended if staying for a long time. Benches, charge stations, restrooms available at certain locations. Park smart and enjoy!

Great to come here. There’s a lot of shopping stores most of the main ones from Premium Outlets. Lots of parking and the people were really nice. There’s a few local shops where you can get something to eat and a good coffee.

Reserva Natural Cueva del Indio is a prehistoric rock art site located in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. Managed by the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, it contains the largest number of cave drawings in the region, dating back to the Late Ceramic Period from 1200 to 1500 A.D.
Awesome day at the beach and hiking along the rocks, cliffs, and into the ancient caverns. Here’s a tip, don’t park in the tourist looking parking lot. The people who own that land are now charging $10 a person for you to park to see public land. I was willing to pay the $5 a person but now it’s $10 each, no way. That would’ve been $40 for us. Instead, continue down the road about 45 seconds to where there’s a little pathway on the left side of the road (where locals may be seen entering to go to the beach). The tourist parking lot is at about mile
post 7.9 and this spot is about milepost 8.3. You can just park on the road (you’ll see all the locals park there too). See my photo of where to enter just past a long white tall fence and at a red spray painted sign that says SUYO. Walk about 2 min on the path to a gorgeous beach and leave your stuff if you want and then to the left are the same rocks just started from the opposite end to explore. We spent about an hour on the rocks and then went to the beach and into the pools of water to cool off. Explore for free and then use the $ you saved to buy lunch and drinks at one of the local kiosks on the road.

Amazing ocean views and crazy caves to climb around. But please watch your step there are legit craters you can fall into. I did not attempt to climb into the cave although I saw many people coming out. Not a fan of close quarters. The view from atop is amazing. Way high up. Some of the holes in the rocks are super big and could be dangerous. Pay attention up there.
BKLYN NYC — Google review
Beautiful place, amazing view of cliffs and caves overlooking the ocean. However if you can, use hiking boots. Extremely rocky (literally walking on rocks) and rugged terrain. The rocks are sharp and even though sneakers can hold to some degree hiking boots are preferable. Ladies, please avoid using sandals or flip flops or you will have a really hard time walking around and the point here is to enjoy the trek through the beautiful place. Bring a bottle of water with you because you will get thirsty and hot although the sea breeze helps, but water is essential you will get tired. There is $10 fee per person as well as a nice parking spot. I believe kids 10 years old and under are free(I think).
I had a great time and it's an awesome spot for pictures. At times you will want jump in the ocean, but it's because of how beautiful it looks from up there. Just be careful and don't get too close to the edge especially the kids, and watch your step because if you fall/trip while walking on the rocks you will get cut/hurt.

This is such an amazing place! The views are phenomenal!! There are few places on the planet more spectacular!
But…the hiking is treacherous. Have good shoes, not sandals or flip-flops!

Beautiful place to visit. Need to be careful walking around the area (kids can go but I do not recommend the little ones, if you take them keep an eye on them!!! There’s a few holes where they can fall 10 to 15 feet high. To get to the natural pool inside the cave you need to climb down rocks which is challenging. It cost $10.00 per person Breathe taking arch as well. Everything was worth! Second time visiting and will be back.
Sheila Calder?n — Google review
Great views! Just make sure to bring sturdy closed-toe shoes because it’s all eroded rock. Also there is a scammer at the front entrance that will try to charge you $10 for a tour but will then show you a photo album and not take you anywhere. It’s public property! Don’t get tricked into paying for it!
Joey Ostroff — Google review
Really spectacular place. It's expensive to park right there next to it, but there are a few other driveways with $5 parking signs directly opposite one of the access trails. They may look sketchy, but the people there were super nice and helpful.
Matthew O (Hat) — Google review
Fantastic views and gorgeous beach. Wear good sandals or hiking shoes to climb on the rocks. If you want to avoid the $10 per person parking fee, which is collected by the owners of the parking lot abutting the main entrance, just parking along Route 681 for free (or in one of the $5/car lots) and walk on a footpath to the beach just east of the entrance parking lot. In that case, you can arrive and leave whenever you want -- the Reserve is open 24/7. Note: you do not need a boleta (ticket) to enter the Reserve. That's just a ruse by the owners of the parking lot. We visited on a cloudy day and it was very pleasant, not hot at all.

Good shoes.
Strong will.
$10 per adult (no kids in our group, so not sure about their cost)
Incredible views.
If you bring kids, be very aware. There are holes in the rock along the way up and plenty of ways to die.
Be aware of your surroundings and its incredible.
Chris Riddle — Google review
The views are quite beautiful. Unfortunately, the climb up is quite rugged and not very simple. Also to enter the cavern you will need some upper body strength & some hops as there is no ladder which makes it difficult. If you can't get into the cavern, the $10 per person isn't worth it.
Anthony M — Google review
Spectacular! $5 per person to get in. The hike is mild but rocks are sharp. I don’t suggest wearing open shoes, you’d be asking for trouble. Hunting for petroglyphs is fun as was climbing down into the rock formations. And then there are the view. Simply amazing.

Hello loves. It is beautiful sight. 🏞️ The day I came here Google maps took me through an area that is "private property". As soon as you are on that road you will see a building with an orange and red gate with that color fencing, but if you go through this way you have to pay parking plus $10 for each person just to pass through that property. It is the closest route to the caves if you don't want to walk a lot through some where else. I did not know this and when I walked in thinking nothing of it since there was no signs no nothing saying that it was "private property". The guy was so rude and told us to leave because it was "private property" and to walk down the street to find another way to the caves. We did walk, but couldn't find a way in because there are other houses around. We payed and the hours are until 5pm to be able to pass back through that property. Finally, was able to see the beach with the caves. Unfortunately, was not able to go down to the actual cave area it was very high tide. We walked on those cliffs as long as we could and went further and further down. We even found a memorial for someone that passed away on those cliffs. RIP. Be very careful walking along the cliffs the rocks are very sharp.🪨 We did came across a trail back to the main road and had to walk about 10 minutes back to the little gas station where we parked. There are other ways to get in there without having to pay it is just further down the road. 🌅

A spectacular place, full of energy. Incredibly beautiful views to make the perfect photos, a hot but super beautiful sunset. Parking is free but the entrance fee is $10 per person. An amazing and unique experience, you can go down to the cliff but with great caution, people come to fish and you can enter and go down to the cave through a small hole, that if they wear comfortable shoes to be able to explore the place well. To the right of the entrance, about 5 minutes walk away, beautiful photos are taken where you can see the monument to Cristobal Colon in the distance.
A. Mutis — Google review
Favorite part of my sons trip. He loves climbing rocks so he was in heaven. Free parking. Ten dollars to enter. We saw lizards, crabs, and hermit crabs on our journey. Hike is not to bad but some parts in full sun. We climb down into the cave. It was tough but well worth it. We also saw bats in the cave!
Brent Duvall — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience. This area is gorgeous and definitely worth the trip. Some advice:
-First, as many people have mentioned before- do not fall for the scam that you have to pay to enter the park. We parked around mm 7.6 where there is a staircase down to the beach. We walked along the beach, then there was a clear path up to the rocks at the end
-Second, the rocks are very sharp and you'll be doing a lot of climbing so wear sneakers
-Third, the cave is very difficult to get into to see the petroglyphs. Several people got stuck while I was there or chickened out. I drew an arrow to the hole you're supposed to climb through, and included a picture of some people trying to shimmy through. But if you're strong then it is SO WORTH IT.
Good luck!

Bring cash for tickets, $10/person. Wear closed toe athletic type shoes. Definitely worth it to climb into the cave if you are reasonably limber - it was a bit terrifying and you do have to legit climb to get in and out but there's a guide to help you and tell you where the hand and foot holds are. And there are bats in the cave! So cool!
Sarah Carson — Google review
We drove for 2.5 hours to see these caves that are so highly talked about. Apparently, there used to be a ladder with which to shimmer down into the caves, but is no longer. It would have been nice to post this change on your page. We were able to see caves at a distance however surface. It wouldn't have killed the land overseers to mark the area either to ensure us folks are in right area.
Karla Schaefer — Google review
Unbelievable views and landscape. One of our favorite excursions! Worth the drive, not to be missed!!! Be sure to weather solid shoes like hiking or sneakers, very rocky but easy for most to scale.
Susan Owen Brown — Google review
Breathtaking views!! I highly recommend stopping here. $10 cash per person unfortunately, but the experience is well worth it. There are beautiful views from the cliff sides, and also a cave you can climb into. However the ladder into the cave has since broken, so you have to climb up the side of a rock into a small crack. Behind the crack is a steep drop off. Not for the faint of heart, it's a difficult process and you'd likely need help unless you are very experienced with rock climbing and caving. Unfortunately the cave is just not accessible to all, but still worth the trip. Definitely watch your step. Lots of holes that are hard to see, that could lead to your death.
Jonathan Roeck — Google review
It free and they have someone ticketing an entrance. If you pass the said entrance and go down a block or so, you will see a sign $5 Parking sign in someones home, pay for parking you can cross the street to the said reserve. They got me for $40-$10 per person. Great place to hike and enjoy the smashing waves.

Stunning nature Site!! Absolutely worth the visit! Don’t worry about the 10$ entrance fee, you won’t regret it. Take your time to really immerse yourself in the energy and power of raw nature! We stayed around 2 hours and could have stayed longer. Bring some water and a snack and enjoy it at the sea. 🤗👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

One of our favorite places to visit in PR! The views are amazing but be sure to wear close-toe shoes (as I broke my toe here 2 years ago). Take plenty of water and be prepared to see some phenomenal views. Watch your step, though!
Arecibo Lighthouse and Historical Park is not just a lighthouse, but a cultural theme park that offers displays, demonstrations, and exhibitions showcasing the island's history. Situated atop a small mountain, the lighthouse provides stunning 360-degree views, making it an ideal spot for photographers. The park also features modern amusements such as pirate ship replicas and a splash pad. Additionally, from January to late March, visitors can enjoy whale watching from this vantage point.
Was exactly what my 7 y/o nephew needed after hours of traveling! Very kid friendly and nice for a slow paced day. Great water park for the kids, a few farm animals, small aquarium, pirate themed adventures, tons of history, and of course...a light house. The light house is overlooking a beautiful view of the ocean.
Joy Proctor — Google review
I would give 3.5 stars if that was an option. The lighthouse / aquarium was neat to see but it was just ok. I say if you’re in the area and don’t mind paying $12, then make the stop. This place is probably great for kids 7 and under. There are wooden boat structures the kids could play in and and a small splash pad area. The view from the lighthouse was nice but not much to see inside.
Mindy Ramirez — Google review
Not worth it, not even close. Outdated, run down, obvious deferred maintenance. It's like they built this in the early 90s and just left it as is, no updates, no maintenance.
The aquarium is more like some larger fish tanks, the indoor pirate cave was leaking from the rain. The water park area was really no better than many public splash pads. The pirate ships and African guys were more like outdated displays than anything for kids to interact with. Can't go in lighthouse and lighthouse museum was very small and underwhelming.
I don't often leave poor reviews, but sorry to say this place deserves it in its current state.
** Edit per business reply - I've been to many, many parks, museums, educational centers, themed attractions. Unfortunately for you, my review is a very educated review from a seasoned traveler with children.
Jason Stackhouse — Google review
Had a great time. I did find the area where the pirate ships are a little littered. The views from the lighthouse and the boardwalk are amazing.
My daughter had a blast in the water park area.
The food was not expensive and the alcapurrias were really good.
Definitely an affordable place for a family fun day especially if you have small children.

After a weekend getaway at Playa Crashboat, my husband and I decided to stop in Arecibo on the way home. January thru late-March welcomes migrating whales. Arecibo Lighthouse offers wonderful vantage point for whale watching. Of course, you aren't guaranteed to spot a whale. However, Arecibo Lighthouse and Historical Park has plenty of activities to keep all ages entertained. $15 admission fee for adults. ((Sorry‐I do not recall cost of child's fee)) Park closes around 6pm. As you enter the well-kept grounds you're greeted by a young Taino spear fishing in shallow water. Wooden ships dot the landscape. Climb the ladder and take pics from the deck of one of these ships. From this vantage point it's easy to imagine the wondrous awe of sailors discovering the magnificent island for the first time. The view is beautiful, especially if seen at sunset. The park has recreated lifelike scenes with painstaking detail. Continue up and onwards towards the lighthouse on wide, cement pathway. Wheelchair accessible to the observation deck. WHAT A SIGHT! The lighthouse is amazing and provides a generous view of the Atlantic and beyond. There are plenty of spots to observe navy blue water crashing against rocky, jagged cliffs. If I was a whale, I couldn't ask for a better place to observe humans. The lighthouse interior displays artifacts from the past: a large anchor claimed by the sea near the Hatillo coast, maps, flags, an old dive suit, a PR coat o' arms. Need to cool off? There's a small waterpark for youngsters. Public restrooms and a concession stand can be located near the waterpark.
We didn't spot any whales while visiting the Arecibo Lighthouse...but I sure enjoyed keeping watch. It was worth the time and money. Go early so you can enjoy all the park's amenities. Parking is free. Parking is also available along the beachside.
*MASKS ARE MANDATORY AT ALL TIMES.

You get your money's worth if you go swimming. The kids loved it. The view at the lighthouse is beautiful.
Not much food but the basic concession kind. They had quite many fish to see.

Absolutely beautiful! I visited this location for the 1st time in May & the views are amazing. You can even see people surfing while the sun is setting. There’s also a little restaurant where you can get some finger foods and drinks. The coconut mojito was delicious! Can’t wait to go back next time in August (a little birdie told me that mating season for whales is in august and it’s a must see.)

Visit the place for the sunset, grab a pinacolada and enjoy the beautiful views of the sunset or just walk onto the beach from behind the bar outside. Just a 5 min walk onto the beach. Definitely a place worth visiting for sunset or just in general
rakesh reddy — Google review
It's a nice place but it looks like it's not taken care of the way it once was. It's a little bit pricey for the few things they have but as long as the kids have fun then I guess that's what matters. It's a good place to visit on a Monday or Tuesday because it's less packed.
Michael Ortega — Google review
Fantastic view from the top of the lighthouse! There's not much to do /see inside the lighthouse, but the outdoor balcony, cafe, the cafeteria (food court), wooden pirate ships, and the children's play areas will keep you busy and entertained! We ate the chicken empanadas from the covered canteen and brought a few to take home! The cost for entry is $12 for adults, and parking is $3.50 per vehicle. It is okay to continue parking in the lot while we swim at the beach, which is accessible to the public from an area of parking. The beach is an open area and has a few coconut/ native trees- a great shade to relax on the beach!

The Arecibo Lighthouse Beach is a beautiful and picturesque destination that attracts visitors from near and far. With its stunning views, soft sandy shores, and crystal-clear waters, it is no wonder why this beach is a popular spot for families and tourists looking to relax and unwind. However, one of the downsides of this beach is the fact that swimming is restricted to only a few feet out from the shore.
While the Arecibo Lighthouse Beach may offer a tranquil and serene setting for sunbathing and enjoying the scenery, the restricted swimming area can be a disappointment for those looking to take a refreshing dip in the ocean. The limited swimming area may be due to safety concerns, such as strong currents or underwater hazards, which could pose a risk to swimmers venturing further out into the water.
Despite the restrictions on swimming, there are still plenty of activities and amenities available at the Arecibo Lighthouse Beach to keep visitors entertained and engaged. Families can enjoy picnicking on the beach, building sandcastles, or simply soaking up the sun while listening to the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Additionally, the beach offers opportunities for beachcombing, birdwatching, and exploring the nearby lighthouse and surrounding grounds.
While the restricted swimming area may be a drawback for some visitors, it is important to remember that safety should always be a top priority when enjoying any beach or waterfront destination. By adhering to the rules and regulations set in place by the beach authorities, visitors can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for themselves and their families.
In conclusion, while the restricted swimming area at the Arecibo Lighthouse Beach may be a downside for some visitors, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy and make the most of this beautiful destination. Whether it's lounging on the beach, exploring the lighthouse, or simply taking in the breathtaking views, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this picturesque beach. So, next time you visit the Arecibo Lighthouse Beach, be sure to embrace the restrictions and make the most of your time spent in this idyllic and serene setting.

A fantastic experience! The Arecibo Lighthouse offers stunning ocean views and a glimpse into Puerto Rico's rich maritime history. The park is well-maintained, educational, and perfect for families. Highly recommend for a blend of history, natural beauty, and fun.
Jimiao Zhang — Google review
There's really not much here to justify the admission price. Some radio controlled race cars and jet skis, which I did not see running a zoo consisting of two donkeys and some static displays of African influence in Puerto Rico and pirates. There's a man- made tunnel in a man- made hill that has tanks of fish which are a good display, except that one has a crocodile or alligator with no eyes and a rotting off snout. I would not have given the place even three stars if I wasn't factoring in the covid influence.

This is a beautiful, big, beach. With lots of road side food options. Great lighthouse also
Les Neely — Google review
The aquarium advertised sharks and sting rays but didn't have any. The tanks were not well kept, dirty, and overcrowded. The lighthouse had one room to go into with very little to see or read about. The "mini zoo" consisted of one tortoise and two donkeys. The whole park was in disrepair and needs updating. Not worth the $12 adult admission price.

A hidden treasure! Great experience specially wanted a place that will show some history to my kids in a fun way. Did not disappoint. Kids (5+6 yo boys) had a blast. They learned about the blend of cultures that made el Jibaro Puertorriqueño: Taino, Spaniards and African. They loved the pirate cave and the pool. The views are spectacular. Service was excellent. Even though the entire facility is wheelchair accessible the staff helped transfer my disabled mom (and wheelchair) up to the lighthouse. Only sad thing was that the little bistro by the light house was damaged likely by Maria, still the facility is being repaired in different areas. Don’t know if it was because of the season, but not a lot of options inside to eat still Outside the premises different places to eat. It is worth every penny and again if you have little kids is a must.

The views are quite nice and ambience is very tranquil. However, the trail to the lighthouse was overgrown with very high bushes and seemed very risky.
This historic former railroad tunnel leads to a scenic white-sand beach with rough waters.
Super cool place to visit, we went on a Saturday and there were a bunch of food vendors setup. I've also been on a weekday and it was pretty much deserted but it was super nice both times.

Beautiful historic place. There was a train that circled the island and it used to go through that tunnel. Lovely walk to admire the big beaches, take some amazing photos or just have a nice family day. Make sure to bring water or food cause there are no food carts. No littering!!

This beach is another great place for some amazing views without an arduous hike. When you enter, there is parking on mostly dirt, but some areas have quite a dip, so be aware if your car is low. Just before the tunnel, there were several vendors propped up selling handmade items or Puerto Rico swag. There was even a food truck. This place is brightly decorated with many a photo op available. It's fun walking through the tunnel which has a plaque providing you with info about it, but it was quite dirty - shoes strongly recommended. After the tunnel, it is a dirt path through thick forest and small rock cliffs. It opens up to a narrow trail with full view of the ocean. At the other side, it's wonderfully calm listening to ocean, but not swimmable as there are many rocks and rough waves, but a great spot for a picnic!

I've always enjoyed going there. It was nice to be able to walk all the way down the old track to the beach. The water is rough, I wouldn't swim there, but it's beautiful. There are food vendors, artisans, and other vendors. They have a little "train" that gives you a ride into the tunnel. I do wish people would clean up after themselves, though.

A place where nature take back whatever belongs to her
You can see the formation and what is the island is made of
The difference layer of sea life incrusted in the walls of the area, the island was under the water for thousands of years.
This area is not for swimming, kayaking, surfing or peeing or smooshing with your girl friend boyfriend or a partner around the beach and is not a joke matter, Don't Risk It. Puerto Rico have a lot of beautiful beaches where you can do that, not here, and you don't want come back home in a aluminum box.
Buy souvenirs all week, Bring kids over the weekend, do a cook out, take back all your B's with you, not litter the environment
If you want taKe picture inside The tunnel and you dont have a pro camera set the phone camera to a pro function, adjust the ISO to a higher number and you will have nice pictures
Enjoy wile you are there

Stunning views. Enter the tunnel and continue towards the end, passing a ledge, then continue thru the rock formation. Once u get to the end, walk down the hill and there u should find the beach u saw when looking down from the cliff.
Warning: If you bring your pet, there are loose dogs in the parking area. They have some type of MANGE. These dogs are super aggressive in a sense that they will come up to you for food.
My cousin put down a trash bag which contained food and the dog with MANGE immediately grabbed it and ate its contents. I was super happy that the food didn't go to waste.
Just make sure you secure your pet and it doesn't mingle with those dogs because the MANGE is contagious. I put my dog in her stroller so she wouldn't walk where they had.

Seeing this historical site and walking through a piece of history is always a great experience for the kids and the adults. The location is beautiful! Just contemplating the beach, the waves, the sky, the beautiful blues and whites, it's a view like no other. There are vendors in the premises and a kiddie train that takes you through the tunel and back. The ride is $3 per person, and it's not that much, but the little ones will enjoy it. There are some murals and spots for pictures and two swings. They have added signs with historical facts and pictures of the tunel and the train, very educational. But it's a shame people are trashing the place. There's litter everywhere. There is a lot of broken glass from bottles, empty plastic cups, and cans. Other than that, it's a great spot to stop for pictures and appreciate a part of history.

The place offers a fascinating glimpse into history with good accessibility. This spot boasts a beautiful beach nearby, providing an excellent backdrop to the historical site, offering insights into Puerto Rico's historical and cultural heritage. There are food stands nearby, providing a chance to savor local flavors. The availability of these stands adds a convenient touch to the visit. Beautiful place! A must spot to make a stop during your family vacation. I had one of the most delicious lemonades I've ever tried on a cart just at the tunnel entrance. There are many other food and drinks offerings. There is also a spot where you can buy typical candy and some local artisans selling their creations. I highly recommend visiting the area in your next trip to the west of the Island. ❤️

I never had such a great time here. The Beach view is beautiful and it is labeled as not for dipping, but it makes for other great experiences. The Tunnel is rich in history and beauty. They have artistics murals great for pictures. And great a great kiosks (a small bandwagon) of coconut with sweet and fresh coconut water.

Such beauty surrounding this place. Rocky beach area and strong tides, but the river connects here also, so you can swim in that part. Best beach, so for taking in the beauty of nature.

Túnel Guajataca, food, pony/horse rides! Enjoy the details of the tunnel and the beach. Keep in mind to use the bathroom is $1. You will also find a few artisans where you can buy handmade jewelry and decor. The only thing I noticed it's that every empty spot in the walkway is filled with garbage on our way to the beach. We should be keeping our island clean at all times.

El túnel is a historic place. A beautiful part of Puerto Rico. I visit every single time I'm on the island. What's incredibly sad and leaves me scratching my head is the sheer amount of trash. How is it that people travel here to experience the beauty but can't comprehend the damage they're causing. You walked in with it, drank it or ate it but you can't be bothered to walk out with it? What can one say about this that hasn't been said? No shame either. They'll do it without an ounce of guilt, right in front of your face and dare you to say something. I carefully take pictures as to avoid the trash in the shot. Reluctantly I did include one in my review. If one single person reading this review decides to walk out with trash that they may have otherwise left and maybe even break the cycle by teaching children better, then it's something. It is a beautiful place to visit.

Its remarkable historical place with the beach. Surrounded with some rocky beach. Location is kept clean by the locals. Have few food trucks for drinks and foods. They got movable restroom which cost $1 to use. Its safe for family and kids to visit there.

Be sure to wear sneakers and be careful if it rained previously as the leaves and rocks may become slippery.
Fantastic views, nice moderate hike (considering age), and wonderful photo ops. I got a chance to learn about my family, who once worked for the railroad. Gorgeous experience!!!
Oh, and if the lemonade cart is just outside of the tunel, give it a shot. I purchased the lemonade/parcha, and it was out of this world!!!!

This location provides a captivating view of history, easily accessible. It features a picturesque beach in close proximity, enhancing the historical site and offering a window into Puerto Rico's rich heritage. Nearby food stands allow a taste of local flavors, adding convenience to the visit. No need to get tickets it’s free no need to make reservations.

The view is spectacular the path thru the tunnel to the beach is amazing It's just sad that people can't clean up after themselves because the place is gorgeous i suggest you get there early to get a parking spot because it gets full fast and be careful because you can get stuck in the sand in the parking areas

Love this area so much! On the weekends it gets really packed with street vendors and food trucks. The place offer many wall art around its area and there’s tons of parking spots. The history of this place going by where the train used to passed and see the beach it’s just so wonderful.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL went during the week. There were very few people. The hike is very easy in dry conditions and with proper footwear. The views are stunning. The sound of the ocean is soothing. Would love to visit during the weekend when vendors are there.

The tunnel was very dirty this time we went. The smell was also a bit intense, accompanying the appearance. There is also an area after the tunnel that is not accessible still. Great views though and awesome family time spent.

The Arecibo Observatory is a renowned research center and observatory that houses the world's largest radio telescope, measuring 1,000 feet in width. It is often referred to as El Radar by Puerto Ricans and has a unique appearance resembling an extraterrestrial spacecraft. The observatory was featured in the 1995 James Bond movie Goldeneye due to its saucer-shaped dish and antennae.
FACILITY I FULLY CLOSE FROM ABOVE A YEAR!
Don't go there. You only can see close gate. Better go to the beach or for a lunch.
Ed Mat — Google review
I was so sad to hear and see that the telescope had collapsed and was destroyed! I did not know about it. It happened in 2020. I remember going in 2006 for the 8 millionth time to see it and it was always a marvel. I’m just sad that I finally got to take my wife and kids and it wasn’t there! The tour guide was great and the place is still worth going to.

Very informative. Knowledgeable staff who answered all our geeky questions. Sad to see nature taking over & not being maintained but definitely worth it! Great little space museum! We enjoyed our visit.

The learning center was amazing and the people working there were VERY helpful and informative. Very glad we made the drive up

At about 1 and 1/2 hrs from San Juan, and going up steep and narrow roads, the observatory is open and welcomes everyone to visit. The visitor center is open and you can see the dish. It is a sad view if you love science, but it's also a must as it puts things into perspective. Also it's so massive, and no picture will ever do the honors to it. A must if you visit PR and love science.
Elvis Quintero — Google review
I was surprised to see the visitor center open and in great shape. Yes, the big scope is broken and mostly removed, but there is still science going on there. Honestly, the story of the place is more interesting now more than when it was whole. Definitely worth the visit, and the next time you watch Goldeneye, you can say "been there".
David Dunstan — Google review
Went to the Observatory in the early 2000s. It was spectacular. It wasn't very touristy back then. Too bad the cables broke, but an article reported they turned it into an educational destination.
However, the ride back to San Juan was just as interesting. Imagine before GPS or maps on a phone. Drove through what looked like Jurassic Park the highest mountains on the island without the dinosaurs. Not sure what road we took back, but the views were amazing. Then, driving through all the little various towns with a bar/restaurant and dogs on the way down the twisting road. Found help at a gas station after driving quite a long time. That was also an adventure. Luv PR.
D M — Google review
While it will never be repaired again it was still incredible to see the once largest ground satellite in person. It is NOT stroller friendly as you can see with the stairs but we were fortunate the observatory staff gave us a lift up the hill. Very knowledgeable staff on all things about the satellite.
Zachary Tasler — Google review
It's a shame that the radio telescope is no longer functional, but the facility is still an active research institution as well as offering an engaging and informative visitor center. The selwction at the gift shop was a bit disappointing, but the visit was very much worth the journey. Some of those back roads to get there are steep and narrow, but it's all smooth and paved.
jim p — Google review
Awesome place to visit even though the big radio telescope is damaged. The little museum inside is small but we'll maintained and the staff is very friendly. There is a very nice visitor presentation about the site's history in the auditorium.

Honestly a pretty sad place to visit since the telescope collapsed a couple of years ago. They really should be allowed to rebuild. Very educational with a great gift shop, but the climb up can be strenuous.
Playa Jobos is a picturesque sandy beach renowned for its crystal-clear waters and the striking rock formations surrounding it. It is a well-liked spot for surfing, offering exciting waves to surfers of all levels. Visitors can head 33 miles north to Isabelas Playa de Jobos and enjoy dining alfresco at Ocean Deck Beach Bar Bistro with breathtaking views of the beach. Parador Villas del Mar Hau provides comfortable accommodation in close proximity to Playa Jobos.
Love love ❤️❤️ this place. The water is soooo cool here, the mountains help divide the strong waves for the surfers and the people who just wanna chill I'm the water. Once in the water you can be in a foot of water then walk up all the way to your neck and back to your ankle. It's super chill here, it gets packed and parking is a nightmare but worth it. Husband was able to surf while we played in the water. The sand is SUPER hot so I would recommend water shoes or else making runs all the way from shore into the water. We will definitely be returning here next time we visit PR. This is now one of our favorite beaches to surf and chill.
Mercedes Sereno — Google review
A very popular and lively beach on the east end where the water is shallow and still. The crowd is young and vibrant with many locals from the town of Isabela. Jobos becomes quieter and unoccupied heading west where the waves break closer to a much steeper part of the beach.

A great gem and hidden find. The huge body of a rock makes a great for swimmers and novice surf riders to enjoy the waves of the island.
All while enjoys great music and food hosted by restaurants near by. You can use the trails and or beach to walk around or even bike!
Beautiful area to get a away and enjoy the humility the Ocean has to offer!
We are looking forward to stop by again.

Beautiful beach and water, beautiful rock formations along the right side too. Not much for swimming though. It is incredibly rocky and shallow and the current is enough to take down even the strongest swimmer. I personally wouldn't want to spend the day here, but I'm fairly certain there is no such thing as an ugly beach in Puerto Rico.

There is also some restaurant and bars near water that you can dine in or drink something.

This is my absolute favorite beach in all of PR. We came back here twice just to watch the sunset with a pair of chairs and enjoy the crashing of the waves on the giant rock cliff structure overlooking the water. It has it all: fun beach to swim, the views, a nice hike to the other side, alcohol, food, and plenty of shops. Only problem is parking could be hard to find on a busy weekend. Parking lots charge $10 but if you're lucky to find street parking I recommend you park on the street instead.

The Jobos beach is amazing!!!! Absolutely kid friendly with the shallows extending out pretty far. It is a hub for beautiful fish and sea life so snorkeling is a must when you visit. We saw tangs, schools of fish, parrot fish, squid, and our highlight was a sting ray with a beautiful fish floating above its back.
This is a must visit!

This is a one of the many beautiful beaches located on the north. It gets very crowded specially on summer months. Tides can be a little rough so always pay attention. Parking is 10$ but if you go early you can park inthe street for free. There's a nice boardwalk if you feel like having a walk or you can rent a bike.

Playa Jobos is a beautiful beach to go to especially during sunset. The beach was basically empty and we were able to enjoy it as the sun went down. The water was mild at this time of day as well. It would also be beautiful to visit in the morning time.

THE BEST BEACH TOWN in the NorthWest. Jobos beach is most beautiful during the week as it is not crowded at all. DO PAY ATTENTION TO THE STRONG CURRENTS where the surfers are. Some parts are rocky and others clear of rocks for the perfect swim. Get there for Sunrise and listen to the waves, breezes and birds chirping a beautiful sound all at the same time! So many restaurants with fresh seafood and magical views. So much greenery and mountains surround this beach town. Its family chill vibes here. If you like photography you'll definitely be inspired. After the beach go to Jobos Food Trucks next to the Gulf Gas Station with plenty of food and drink options. We visited here for the first time in April 2022, and have been back 9 times! It's truly paradise. Come for sunrise and stay for the sunsets!! Come with no plan and enjoy your day one wave at a time!

This is a very nice place to visit. I think there are other better places to spend the day, but it was good. Make sure you dont go too far on the sea as it gets very strong after a certain point and hard to swim back, kids should only stay very very close to the sand.
The Parque Nacional de las Cavernas del Río Camuy is a 268-acre park filled with underground caves that are home to light-shy wildlife including bats, crabs, and tarantulas. Visitors can take a tram ride down to a 180-foot high cave where they can explore at their own pace. However, guided tours of the Arecibo Telescope and Camuy Caves can also be arranged by calling ahead or booking through tour companies such as Countryside Tours.
A must see place just a bit over an hour west from San Juan. If you arrive with a small group by 9 you might be able to get a small tour but even the tour with twenty or so is pleasant.
The guide was very knowledgeable of the cave system, history, of the flora, and the fauna.
If you walk the whole thing, the tour is about 90 minutes. It’s easy going down and hilly coming up so be prepared with good walking shoes with grip. Your essentially in a rain forest going into a cave system.
The caves themselves are impressive and beautiful. They’ve been here for millions of years before us and will be here for millions of years after us.
Hurricane Maria destroyed part of the cave trail, and that part is closed off. But the rest of it is intact, minus lighting. Be sure to bring a flashlight 🔦 or use your phone 📱 as a flashlight. Charge your phone before you go because of that and all the potential pictures.
Joshua Rivera — Google review
Bring a flashlight! This was a wonderful experience, but Hurricane Maria wiped out all the lights inside. There is no illumination inside the cave except for cell phone light. It is dark and slippery. Not recommended if you have any fear of darkness.
Also, the trolley is not functioning. There is a 20 minute walk to and from the cave. I would recommend for older children (above 7) and physically fit adults.
We brought a 10 year old, 13 year old and 16 year old. They loved the caves, but the 10 year old had a hard time walking back. The cave spiders were amazing to see! Our tour guide was great… fluent in both Spanish and English.
Kerry Mendez — Google review
Be prepared to walk, up hill... about a mile to the entrance. They do have a golf cart to take you down to the entrance if you have difficulty walking. Wear nonslip shoes... nothing white... slippery in some spots for a moment. Toward the end, do not hold the rail, guano, bat poop!
Hard walk upward back to where you started... pavilion.
BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!

Fun attraction that could've been a lot shorter. I felt like we spent a lot of time waiting on people who had no business walking around on slippery underground surfaces. The tour guide was great though and the caves are very open. Overall a good experience.

The experience was excellent, shocking to see the beauty of nature. The caverns are really magical, a place you should visit. However, the facilities of the complex are deteriorated. The staff hopes that the private entity that manages can improve the facilities and be able to open the other caves that are closed.

Beautiful. Your guide was amazing and knows how to take good photos
Only a portion of the park is open. Still recovering from Hurricane Maria
FYI- it is very slippery, wear the right shoes bring a mini flashlight bug spray and hand sanitizer.

What an adventure. A lot of walking so be prepared. Take some good shoes, with grip. It’s VERY SLIPPERY in there. Let me repeat, VERY SLIPPERY. many people in my group slipped. There is railing but people don’t use it until they slip, then it’s too late.
Tour guide with good. Informative, tried to be too funny, would have enjoyed more info. Can be dark in places. Take a flashlight if you have one.
$18 for adults. $4 parking. Not bad. Didn’t expect this type of adventure in Puerto Rico

Our tour guide Jose with Local Tourist LLC was the best we could have asked for. He was great with my daughter and very knowledgeable and well spoken. The cave system is a real spectacle and a great adventure out of the heat. The walk down is very relaxing as you can feel the heat being drawn out of the air

Incredible! Go see this, it's $18 to get in and $4 to park. The guided tour takes roughly 1 hour and you will remember it forever. Just make sure to wear closed toed shoes. There are hand rails but it's still very easy to slip.
sonicdeatheater — Google review
Get ready for a long walk down and up from the caves. It's well worth it. Very nice views. Just remember they have times for the tours so you might have to wait a little in between.
U. Soto — Google review
The park is nice. Unfortunately the caves were damaged due to hurricane Maria that passed by the island and flooded the caves killing 99% of the bat population. The tour can only take you to a certain point thru the caves. The path was cut short and closed off because of what looked like a mudslide or rocks that tumbled onto it. In my opinion, the use of some lights would accentuate more of the rocks formations. It looks like there was a light system in place from before but the lights were out. The tour guide brought some lights and we were able to use the lights on our phones. Come with a full battery. In general, the experience was good, the vegetation is beautiful and the tour is very informative. It’s safe and good for older kids. I recommend to make a reservation or you might have to wait a couple of hours.

So glad this is open again. Best to make reservations via email and be prepared for a hike to the caves n back up. Wear proper hiking shoes and bring a water bottle. You WILL need it. If you do have an issue making it back up the hill your guide will call for a ride if need be. Helps to be in shape 😀

No reservations under 20 people. Got here at noon on a Tuesday and it was at capacity. Told to come the next day early. Showed up at 9am on Wednesday and got a ticket for 1pm entrance. Come hydrated and bring water. Walk down isn't bad. For the walk up, hitch a ride on the cart. Check out Tainos Ice cream either before or after.
Jenn C — Google review
Wish the reservation/ticket system was a little more organized. You'll likely show up and be given a ticket to return in an hour or two, which is a little inconvenient. There really needs to be a way to reserve a tour spot online.
Otherwise, a pretty impressive cave system and a good, safe experience for those with kids or who don't want to adventure too far outside their comfort zone. Be sure to stop at Taino's Ice Cream just north of the park entrance. Their food and ice cream is very good and they have some awesome unique flavors!

We had a great time. Be early, we went before 11 am and we got a spot for 1pm. Our tour guide was excellent. Wear comfortable cloth and shoes. It's very slippery (inside the caves) and at the time we went was very hot and humid. You have to walk a lot to go down to the caves and back. Although they have transportation for people with any health condition or small kids. The caves are beautiful. You need a flashlight, we forgot that and no one told us to have or buy one. You can pay cash or with debit or credit card. Wish, more areas were opened. The tour guide explained to us that only a 15% is open due to shortage in employees due to the government economic issues. Overall is a great experience with nature. Our kids love it!

This attraction has seen better days. It needs to be revamped and allotted some resources to make it what it once was.
First the good; EXCELLENT guides. These people know all about the flora and fauna and wildlife along the path down to the cave, as well as the history of the local area and wildlife around. They're polite, mostly bilingual, and extremely friendly.
Here's where they need to devote some resources to: This used to be a ride down in a trolley to the cave. It's now a walking tour, which is easy on the way down, but the way up, not so much. It's evident as you walk along the paved path and down into the cave system that it's a bit run down and needs some improvements. Additionally, there used to be a whole other cave you were taken to, but this is no longer the case. As I understand it, this is because of the damage from one of the hurricanes that ravaged the island years ago.
It's still a fascinating tour and the scenery is incredible, but it really has HUGE potential to be much better, and I really hope to see it improve.

If you like caves, come here.
We arrived around 9am and had to wait until 11am to get in. Apparently, you need closed toe shoes or they won’t let you in. Audio guide was helpful and the tour was just the right amount of time. Safe and lots of history. Glad we went.

Amazing place. Truly a gem of Puerto Rico. The cost is 18 dollars. They have timed entries however I don't remember seeing it on the website. I arrived at 10:30 am and had to wait for the 11 am spot. Not a big deal since I was with my friends.
Things to keep in mind:
1) bring a headlamp, they are not provided
2) wear boots or shoes with grip
3) it's 100% or so humid in the cave
4) the only restrooms are portable
5) the ice cream is tasty

This was one of the most breathtaking experiences I’ve ever been a part of. This is a must do when visiting Puerto Rico. They don’t provide you with a flashlight so remember to bring one or a head lamp for the helmets they provide. There is a lot of walking so keep that in mind. They do accommodate people who have difficulty with long walks, just make sure to call them in advance. Overall the experience was amazing and I will definitely be coming back.

The cave and the walk down to it are beautiful, but it could very easily be a self guided (and cheaper) tour since they give you headphones anyway. Tours start on the hour so if you get there at five minutes past, you have to wait for the next tour. I do wonder where all of the entrance fees are going because the facilities are in quite a state of disrepair. No cave lighting since the hurricane seven years ago.
Mark Edson — Google review
Absolutely worth the trip, the cave was stunning and the walk to get there was beautiful.
That said, be prepared to walk to the cave, it's about a ten/fifteen min trek down since the grounds no longer have trams. They do however have carts for the disabled/children.
Bring a little flashlight but be cognizant of those around you, it's dark and slippery, lights can be blinding.
And please, be respectful. When the guide says "don't touch", don't. There's a reason these rules are in place. Keep these places as pristine as we can. People in my group didn't and it's tourists like them that will ruin things for everyone else.
Enjoy, tip your guides!

Having been to a few Cave Systems outside Puerto Rico, these truly disappoint, especially if you are going out of your way to visit.
Cons:
1. Tours are big in size (our tour might have 30 people or more)
2. The tour guide is too loud to my liking (it can't be helped considering the size of the tour)
3. It's a long walk to the Cave (a bit steep at certain locations)
4. Honestly, the Cave itself isn't very interesting
Having said that, there are certain things that we did like.
Pros:
1. The walk to the Cave is beautiful (it's still a long walk though). You can hear the birds chirping.
2. Sun rays coming from the Cave opening were just mesmerizing during sunset. We were lucky to be there at the right time.

If you are visiting P.R this is a cool place to check out. Be ready to walk don’t wear sandals please you might slip. I witness 2 people fall. They where wearing flip flops and sneakers that are not meant for that environment. Prices $20 per person, parking $4, seniors $12 and children $12. Plenty of parking we didn’t have to wait to go in. Bathrooms are outside ( porter potty) they where clean. Bring hand sanitizer you will have to hold on to handrails in some spots. There are 9 stations (9 stops) to admire the views. They tell you don’t touch the rails in station 8 and 9. Please don’t touch the rails there’s bat poop all over the rails. If you don’t have a flash light or your phone light on you won’t be able to see the mess and touch it. I love nature I enjoyed the tour.

My exp:
1) There was no delay, I reached at 12:50pm and our tour started at 1. But if you reach after the tour starts, you might need to wait for an hour.
2) Very nice and humble staff. Radio is useless. Head protector and earphones they provide is shared by many tourists and good luck with that sweat smell.
3) Bat poops and no light inside cave turned to be true. You can’t avoid both as it’s slippery inside cave and by the time you realize you were holding the rails, it will be too late.
4) I took my 3 year old with me without stroller. It wasn’t that hard as I had to pick him up in few places and mostly he was able to walk. Few parents who got strollers were struggling to push it in those steep roads.
5) If this place was in USA, they would have made it like another Grand Canyon kind of location. I feel very sad for the people there who have so much beautiful locations around and terrible local govt who doesn’t maintain any of these places.
6) Toilets were modular and too bad.
If you can live with all the bad and have a hunger to experience the beauty, this is one of the most beautiful places there is in PR.

I had been here when they first opened and it was spectacular. Now like many other things in Puerto Rico, they have let it run down. They don't have any lighting in the caves anymore, but they want to sell you a flashlight for $8. They no longer have a trolley to bring you to the entrance so you have to walk and the guides ask for tips. Which they never did before.
Orlando Bodon — Google review
There is no other park like this one in the USA, in my opinion. The combination between caves and tropical forest makes this place unique. Be prepared to walk about 30 mins from the welcome center to the entrance of the cave system. A golf cart is available for children and people with disabilities or walking issues. The parking costs $4 per vehicle. The entrance to the cave includes tour guide, helmet and audioguide, for $18 per person. Totally worthy! All ages welcome. Get there early bc the last tour of the caves starts at 3pm and each tour is about 3 hours long.
The Narrows water hike in Zion National park was my favorite until I took the Tanama River tour with Edgar Gonzalez. My family and I were all amazed at the beauty of the mountains, river, caves and suspension bridge. The Kayak ride through the caves was definitely the most amazing part which other tour companies don’t include. While we were all apprehensive of the early start, it was all worth it. The passion and love Edgar Holds in his heart for the town, mountains, caves and river quickly became contagious. We all left with this new found love and a yearning to return. We HIGHLY Recommend!! DO IT!!!!! Memories will be cherished for years to come

We did a hiking and cave tour. We followed the guide to a remote parking area in our own cars then hiked through the forest for a bit. His English was great and he gave a lot of great information about the plants and rock formations we were passing by. The highlight was kayaking through a cave and seeing the formations inside. There was an opportunity to swim after and due to a miscommunication, we didn't get to complete the rest of the river hiking tour. I was incredibly disappointed but the experience up until then still earns this 4 stars.

What an amazing adventure and definitely one of the highlights of our week-long vacation in Puerto Rico. I cannot say enough positive things about our guide Edwin. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and did an excellent job leading our group of 2 families (4 adults & 4 teenagers) up the Tanama river. Our trip consisted of a decent down into the river canyon, hiking up the river which required short swims during a few sections of the river, kayaking through an approximately 1000 foot long cave, and a suspension bridge river crossing on the return to the van. Along the way, Edwin discussed the history, geology, vegetation, and animals present around the local area and Puerto Rico. I would highly recommend this trip! You will need good water shoes and plan to get wet.

Edwin was our tour guide and he was amazing. You can really tell that he loves his job. We learned so much from him and he answered all our questions. We had such a great time with breathtaking views. I would definitely recommend a waterproof bag and water shoes. You get 100% wet. Also I wouldn't recommend kids. My kids are 12 years old and I'm glad that we didnt take them. It was a little scary for children. My fiance and I had a great time. Definitely a once in a lifetime trip

Went on a kayaking and cave tour for about 4-5 hours. Met our guide Edgar at the site (pretty easy to find) and he drove us to where we began our hike. We hiked down, kayaked through a cave, and then continued the hike on to the second cave. We were in and out of the river quite a bit and the hike itself was fairly intense. Edgar was great, gave tips for getting through challenging and slippery areas. We had a lot of fun. You will get soaking wet so dress and plan accordingly! :)

This was well worth the money. You must be in good physical condition to do the long tour, lot of climbing and hiking and trekking the river. Wear waterproof hiking shoes and bring a wet bag for your phone and keys etc. Perfect day!!!

My family had a great time on the caving and river trek. Our guide Edwin was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure we had a safe, fun and unique experience. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Puerto Rico.

The cave and kayak tour was my favorite day of our week-long trip in Puerto Rico. Edwin was the main guide and it was interesting to see all that he taught us about the flora, fauna, and caves that we experienced. This area was his childhood stomping grounds where he went with friends to swim, catch crawdads, and picnic on the banks of the river, so he knows the place intimately. He greeted the locals that we passed by (one man that was using a machete to harvest some taro in his yard, another was an elderly lady). The bridge crossing, kayaking in the cave, and drinking the spring water was amazing, but floating down another section of the river to a larger cave was even cooler. We took our 12, 10, and 7-year-old kids. The 12 and 10 year olds loved the exploring and adventure of it all and felt totally safe the entire time. Our 7-year-old was in a kayak with me in the cave and was fine and enjoyed the experience. When it was time to float in the river she was very nervous, but between us wearing life-jackets and me holding onto her, she did great and ended up enjoying it a lot. We floated through 2 sections of the river, each time being in the water for only about 5 minutes or less. My kids are pretty strong hikers, so the hiking and climbing over rocks wasn't an issue for them, but it might be for younger kids that aren't as experienced. Edwin was cheerful, professional, patient, and encouraging with the kids and we felt like we could ask him questions and he would know the answers. I would highly recommend this tour and would even do it again if we ever return to Puerto Rico.

Our hike with was the highlight of our week in Puerto Rico! What an indescribably beautiful place to explore, and both Edwin and Omar, our guides, were fun and knowledgeable. Everything from hiking up and down to the river, walking across the suspension bridge, kayaking through the cave and hiking through the river to the next cave was wonderful. The only thing that could have been better would have been a longer adventure; even after 4.5 hours we could have spent all day!

We took the hiking/kayaking tour with our three grandchildren, ages 9-15, who live in PR. We are 69 and 71 years old but in good shape, and our grandchildren frequently hike mountains with their parents. The sites through the caves and forests were ethereal and breathtaking. The hike is a bit challenging over rocks near the river and can be muddy on the steep forest trails, but if you are in good shape and have good shoes, it is not to be missed. Our water boots were perfect as we could hike and swim in them. Omar, our guide, was knowledgeable, informative, patient with the kids insistence on exploring a little further, and very attentive. When we asked about places to eat, he suggested La Familia Pizzeria, a small family restaurant about a mile east of the Batey office. We filled the kids up with pizza and spaghetti before our long drive back home. The entire experience was one of our best in Puerto Rico.

Really awesome tour. Our guides were super helpful and very patient. We had a 10 year old with us and I’d say the hike and kayaking was totally fine for a family with kids. The cave was so amazing to kayak through and the river was so pretty. I will say the hike down to the river is a little uncomfortable if you’re afraid of heights so just prepare yourself. It’s doable though!

We had a wonderful experience hiking, learning about the local history, fruits and trees, kayaking through the cave, climbing rocks, getting natural clay face packs, drinking spring water, and jumping into the river! Jorge, our kind guide, was most knowledgeable, patient, adventurous, and fun! Our kids and teens had a blast! Most recommended adventure! We'll be back. 😊

We took the rice cave kayak tour, amazing. Perfect for length for kids. Easy hike to the water, short distance to kayak through the cave. Enjoyed a spa facial. Tour guides were excellent, showing off lots of nature and history.

This was a perfect excursion! Our family of eight ranging from 14 years old to 45 years old all loved it! It was beautiful, a little challenging without being very hard, and just so much fun thanks to our two wonderful guides! Omar and Edwin made us feel safe, educated us on many things, learned all of our names within minutes, which must be so hard to do, made us laugh, and made the whole experience one of our favorite things to do in Puerto Rico! I would honestly recommend this tour, and especially Omar and Edwin, to anyone looking for a great excursion! Thanks guys!

Our cave kayak guide, Edwin, was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. Both Edwin and Omar were excellent guides and made the adventure so fun. When I got in over my head in water, Omar was quick to take my backpack so it wouldn't get wet.

Terrific! Vigorous hike up and down- roots, rocks, dirt. Suspension bridge, kayaks and a few in tubes thru cave tunnel. Fresh spring water and clay masks from the earth plastered on the face for a few minutes. Puerto Rican toady bird, many cool trees and plants pointed out. Jorge and Denise generous with time and info. Our group 13 fit people ages 13-56. Sweaty on the way to the river, pleasantly wet so not as hot on the way back. The drive also beautiful and zillion up- down curves. We recommend the whole thing!!

River Caving Tour - This is hands down one of the best things to do in Puerto Rico. Highly recommend Batey Adventures.
Our tour guide Edgar is Amazing!!
If you are driving from San Juan or Arecibo, try taking Road 10. The drive is beautiful!
Pack light and atleast carry a waterproof pouch for Phone, Car Keys etc. If you don't have one, they are available for purchase at their office. Be prepared to get wet. It's the best part :)

The 4-hour (actually closer to 5) River Caving Tour was an amazing adventure!
Edgar was a joy to get to know and provided so much info on the vegetation and history. The journey consists of slippery rocks, mountain paths, some rock “climbing”, and river trekking (you will absolutely be in the water). As the description of the tour alludes to, being in moderate physical shape will truly make your experience better. We suggest to be as “light” with what you wear/bring as possible. A WATERPROOF bag for phone for pics (there is no service), water, and a light snack is really all you need. You might consider leaving car keys with your car.

WOW what an amazing experience! I’ve been coming to PR my whole life and this was one of the best things I’ve ever done! My family and I did the River Caving Tour with our guide Edwin. The sights and kayaking were so unique and beautiful. What made this truly exceptional was Edwin. He knew so much about all the vegetation, made sure we were all safe, and was cracking jokes with us the whole time. He also didn’t rush the tour and let us truly enjoy it all. Could not recommend this tour enough! If you can, do it!

Tanama River Adventures is a top choice for families seeking an unconventional adventure in Puerto Rico. This renowned tour company offers a range of activities, including invigorating hikes and thrilling river rafting experiences. The river itself originates in the central region of Puerto Rico and provides a significant portion of the island's water supply. Was I scared? Maybe.
Was it worth it? Definitely.
Super safe and lots of nature. You don’t need a waterproof bag but either a waterproof case for your phone or belongings you don’t want getting wet. Proper footwear, snacks and water a must. Road is a little windy so if you get car sick, be prepared. Butterfly tour is recommended and nice that it’s only half a day. Guides are easygoing and knowledgeable. Recommend if you have the time and aren’t too scared of heights.

We had an amazing half day trip with Tanama River Adventures. Marielle was our guide and she was fun and knowledgeable. We hiked, river tubed in one long cave, hiked and swam down river to another cave and then climbed a waterfall on the way back. I would highly recommend this tour...there is no way you could find it or access the area without a guide!

Awesome trip. It is definitely a good hike.
All terrain shoes a must. Waterproof bag for phone and snacks and water a must. You will be wearing a hard hat and a life vest the entire time. Just FYI. You should be fair shape physically.

Amazing trip through the Tanama River! Our group of 8 had an awesome time with our guide Mariel. Google maps brought us right to the pick up/drop off location and after a few minutes checking in we were off on our journey. We were taken to caves, and learned all about the geology and animal life that makes them unique. After a few minutes hiking the beautiful mountain side we arrived to the river and enjoyed a relaxing swim. We were taken deep into another cave and saw hundreds of bats and experienced total darkness and silence as we shed our headlamps. Make sure you have good water shoes! If your looking for a physical and fun activity to do outside of old San Juan, definitely check out a tour with Tanama River Adventures!

A very memorable experience! The drive down the mountain and hike into the valley reveals some of the most beautiful views on the island.
The tube ride through the cave is amazing and almost surreal - walls make of what looks like an alien structure.
Our primary guide, Kevin, grew up in these lands - along with his family for generations. His enthusiasm in sharing this bit of paradise was infectious, and his knowledge of the flora and fauna was extremely informative.
We highly recommend this excursion!!!
PS Your feet will get wet!!! Be prepared with the right footwear!

We did the cave tubing tour. The trip through the mountains to get to the river was beautiful. The hike down to the river and up from the river is strenuous. It is worth it though.
The river and the pools are secluded and peaceful. Our tour guide did not rush us and let us enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Tanama River Adventures was amazing! I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and the tour/scenery was incredible. Wear good supportive close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that can get wet… because everything will get wet. The only thing we wish we’d done differently (additionally) was book the repelling tour. 5 stars - would recommend!

This was an amazing experience! Fernando and Mariel were both knowledgeable and overall excellent guides. Being inside the cave and swimming in the beautiful, clear Tanama River were two highlights, but the tour is full of awesome sights. You will hike through very slippery terrain but just follow the instructions on the website for what gear to have and you will be fine.
Gozalandia, situated on the western side of Puerto Rico in San Sebastian is a scenic waterfalls and bathing ponds series in a forest setting. It is easily accessible and makes for an ideal family day trip. The trail leading to it is paved and there's ample parking space nearby. Though it can get crowded with tourists and locals alike, arriving early could help avoid crowds.
Definitely a must do. The hike to the fall was easy. Railings are a little loose but watch your steps. Most of the trail is paved. Once at the waterfall you can truly enjoy the surroundings. It was fun to watch families enjoy themselves. Water was cold but felt great once in.

Wonderful day trip! The falls are a must to see! It was fun watching people jump off. The path to the falls is concrete and an easy walk. There is an additional smaller falls to see. Also note that coolers are not allowed. We stopped at the bar/ restaurant for a beer. The pond had quite a few turtles. It was a fun day.

Beautiful place! Easy to get to, refreshing water and lots of fun for everyone! A bit of a walk to upper falls and lots of stairs to get to lower falls for my elderly mom but totally worth it! I think we paid $10 to enter the park which we were happy to do to help maintain it!

This place was by far one of our favorite places we visited in Puerto Rico! The waterfall is amazing! My fiance and 2 sons jumped the falls, and 2 of them jumped from the taller waterfall! What an experience we will never forget! If you're thinking about going, go!

I recommend this stop if you are anywhere near the area. We were driving from the north side of the island down to Sondra Farms coffee for a tour which was amazing. When we arrived, we were charged $10 to park from the restaurant that is nearby. We would have received our $10 back. Had we eaten at the restaurant. We did not have time to do so on this day so we lost our $10 for about 30 minutes of waterfall viewing.
There are 2 big falls. One is very close to the parking area down a lot of steps and extremely easy to get to, and to view. There were around 20 people climbing up and jumping from the falls as well as children wading and cooling off with their parents.
We did not go to the second set of waterfalls because we were warned. It was a very long hike to get there.
Overall, if you enjoy seeing waterfalls and taking in the natural beauty, I do think this is worth the visit. You can bring your towels and make sure you’re wearing your bathing suit already as there is nowhere to change.

I loved this waterfall! You didn’t need to hike to get to it. Just go down some narrow and steep stairs but nothing crazy. The waterfall was awesome, highly recommend if you don’t like to hike but still want to go to a waterfall. There are hiking trails if you do like to hike though.

Beautiful place, with one main waterfall, where you can jump from different stages into a deep pool, and a series of small cascades. Food and beer at the top.
It is a very steep set of stairs to get down to the main waterfall, so if you have mobility issues, you might just want to go view from the overlooks.

The casacadas are a great half day trip for the family. $10 parking charge and then you are off. Make sure to bring water shoes as this is your best bet to protect your feet and ensure a firm grip on the slippery rocks. Please visit both waterfalls and enjoy some of the pooling along the river. If you're feeling adventurous, take a jump off the rocks. After enjoying the falls take the trail back to the restaurant and enjoy some good food.
Reginald Clark — Google review
What an amazing place! Lots of parking. It rained very hard before we got there so we were not able to go in the water, but everyone says that is so much fun. Just seeing the waterfalls flowing with all the rain water was incredible. The bar and restaurant near the parking lot is a great escape if it rains. The food and drinks were excellent and the staff was nice. Definite a hidden gem of a place that you have to visit.
Tim Cocchia — Google review
It's absolutely stunning! Make sure to bring water shoes and be very careful -- walk slowly. The rocks are full of algae/moss, which make for a potentially dangerous situation if you are barefoot or moving too quickly while walking on the rocks. Also, there is a rock shelf available for you to sit in the largest fall. Beyond that point, the water is very deep and has a ton of rocks.
Please take the small hike to see all the falls on-site. They are completely worth it!
P.S. My dad and I went on a Monday morning during the off-season, and it wasn't full of visitors. Perhaps you may experience the same or similar advantage. Amazing activity!

Such an amazing experience. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The Waterfalls themselves were breathtaking and refreshing. You didn’t have to do much walking to the first waterfall but the stairs are pretty steep if you have any physical challenges. Overall this was 10000% worth the trip.

Breathtaking!! Beautiful!! Its a place for the whole family. There are two ways to reach the waterfall, one has 110 steps the other 82 steps. Bring a cooler because once you are down, you don't want to come up to get anything you forget. There are rest areas for people who cant go down. There is a restaurant on the premises but you can bring your own food. Parking/entrance fee $10.00 per car. I suggest you wear water shoes since it's slippery. Have lots of fun!!
Artesanias Tull — Google review
This was amazing. Our teenage boys loved it. There is a path leading from the restaurant to a set of stairs leading down. It is a good amount of stairs that can be slippery, so go slow. It was $10 to park but free entrance. There is a restaurant on site, but we didn't eat there. We packed food and left the cooler in the car. There are bathrooms as well. It is very deep in parts, but this allows people to jump off the fall. Some parts are shallower for little ones. It is packed during the weekends. Recommend going during the week. We went on Friday around 1pm, and it wasn't too crowded, however. If you are not swimming, seating is limited to rocks, and that too gets packed by onlookers. But this is just to prepare you for your visit. If you get the opportunity, do not miss out on seeing this. It was breathtaking.

What an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PLACE!!! If you want to see something extraordinary and absolutely beautiful Gozalandia is the place! In 3 short hikes you’re able to see 3 absolutely amazing waterfalls. They also offer camping over night and walking sticks for your hike. You can save a lot of the hike by paying $5 and a Trolly get you much closer to all 3 attractions.
Tony Vega — Google review
We chose to walk through the stream, but there's also a path next to it. You can either go left at the fork which takes you down to view a massive waterfall, or take a right at the fork to go up the stream (or trail) to get to another big waterfall. The $10 parking fee was worth it. There's also a bar next to the parking lot which was very convenient.
Mitchell DeBo — Google review
If you're in the area and are looking for a wonderful waterfall with incredibly scenic views, look no further. This place has come a long way, you are able to drive right up to the falls now. Parking was $10 and it was a short walk down some paved walkways/stairs. There are several vantage points, but the real fun is down below. Plenty of places to put your bags while you swim. The views are great! Climb the waterfall at your own risk, there are plenty of places to jump into the deep pool below

Amazing experience. I went in January, so not too many people. Water is great for swimming and you can jump off (if you're a dare devil) the cliff from the waterfalls. The restaurant is amazing. They do charge $10 for parking, but if you park on the side of the road before getting to the restaurant, you won't have to pay but you have to hike just a tiny bit.

A very scenic and popular waterfall with places to hike and swim. Many people come here for professional photos, too. The paths are well maintained, but the stairs can be wet and steep.
If you are planning on being here, remember to bring $10 for parking, good hiking footwear, and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Highly recommended.

One of my favorite spots in the Westside of the island. Took the kids for the first time and they had a blast. Good parking, bathroom, and easy access between waterfalls via a concrete pathway. Definitely a most if you are in the area.

We heard about this waterfall from some locals in Rincon. Excellent day trip and neither of the falls disappointed! The lower falls was the best place to swim and the upper offered some amazing photo opportunities. The upper fall is a little bit of a hike, but it is easily accessed with a concrete path. The last fifteen feet or so is a little bit of a scramble but all ages were doing it. We want to go back early in the morning for less people and better photos!

We had such a nice time visiting this place. The drive there from San Juan took us about an hour and a half, a bit winding, but luckily the day was really nice that day. We paid $10 at the entrence, there was plenty of space to self park. The place has only 2 small waterfalls which are perfect for a nice little refreshing swim. Luckily the walk to the waterfalls is very doable, meaning that even children and adults with any disabilities would be able to walk up and down the steps. Because it had been previously raining, it was really slippery walking barefoot, but I would recommend having water shoes. I also recommend stopping by the restaurant/bar which surprisingly has some really good dishes that were rather good in my opinion. There are restrooms, but sadly there aren’t any designated changing rooms (at least that I know of). We spend about 3 hours there altogether.

This is 1000% worth it! The hike is only a quarter mile or so to see everything and it’s all incredible. The water is fresh, not salty. The trail is all cement and very well maintained. This is a must-see if you’re on the west side of the island!
It costs $10 to park, but we arrived early before they got there and they didn’t ask us to pay.
Be very careful on hwy 446 though, it’s very narrow, especially to the north.

Crash Boat Beach, located in Puerto Rico's Rincon area, is a beautiful sandy beach renowned for its clear waters, festive atmosphere and diving dock. While the west coast of Puerto Rico is famous for big waves and surfing culture, Crash Boat Beach offers smaller waves that are ideal for swimming. The beach also has excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities around the reef to the north of the pier and bridge.
Very clean beach with beautiful scenery. They have picnic tables, garbage cans, dock for fishing. Some of the tables are broken, but the beach is exceptionally clean.

Matt- Jesus is the Savior! — Google review
Crash Boat is a beautiful beach that is visited by locals and tourists alike. Crash Boat was coined and has kept this name from when the US military back in the day would race from the shore on an emergency rescue crash boat to a downed plane or some other emergency out in the ocean. The name just stuck.
The beach has some showers to rinse off the sand and some tables folks can use. The parking in the lot on peak season can get scarce and may need to park in the street. There are areas in the street where you may get a parking ticket, so be mindful, ask a friendly local or look for signage.
The bathrooms, however, are not very well maintained, and portions of the restroom floor may be wet and pose a slipping hazzard.
This beach has snorkeling and scuba to boast, and old piers where swimmers can jump off. The shore can be enjoyed by youngsters as it is not too rough while brave swimmers can jump off one of the piers.
At one point, some time ago, there was a skeleton of a ship close to the beach and made the namesake fitting. However, that is long gone and has been claimed by the sea.
Sunsets are so beautiful here. Find some trees where you can tie up your hammock, slow down, and enjoy. Grab a drink on me.

Well kept beach. We got lucky as it was pretty empty compared to typical tourist beaches. Water was pretty clear once the sun came out. Good food spots nearby and parking lots nearby. Definitely worth the visit.

The most popular beach in Aguadilla and one of the favorites on the west coast for residents of Puerto Rico. There’s a little bit of everything at Crash Boat, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing pier, great sunsets, dancing pelicans, cheap local food, and plenty of parking. During the winter months, the west end of the beach becomes a playground for surfers. Beach volleyball is a popular pastime for young locals during sunset. Crash Boat Beach is one of the best beaches to experience the authentic local Puerto Rican experience, simple, relaxed, friendly, and always fun.
The beach was probably named Crash Boat after all the colorful fishermen boats that “crash” on the shores of the beach. If you love photography, Crash boat is a great spot at sunset.
The water is beautiful, with various shades from crystal clear, baby blue to cerulean blue tones. There are some spots best for swimming where the water is calmer, if you’re visiting for the first time, feel free to ask a local, swim where you see families with children, or be sure to get in the water before your children to check out the depth and conditions.
The cool thing about Crash Boat is that in one location you get 3 different beaches, each appealing to a specific group, one of the reasons this beach is so popular among locals.
The south end of Crash Boat typically has fewer crowds, you tend to see more people just chilling with a book and enjoying a good show from surfers during the winter months.

Beautiful beach, had a great time here. I suggest getting here early to make sure you find some parking, as it tends to fill up quickly. As with any beach, there was some trash around, which speaks volumes of the people who go there, but more trashcans wouldn't hurt either. If you are in the area, it's definitely worth a visit, even if it's only to watch the sunset.

One of the BEST beaches in PR! Water is clear, snorkeling under and jumping off of the pier is a BLAST, and the services (food, drink, chairs, etc...) are great amenities.
Parking is tricky if you arrive late. We saw a bunch of cars with tickets. Talked to a cop. You need to park above the wood viewing platform if parking along the side of the road.

During our 2 week trip to Puerto Rico we visited many beaches all around the island and Crash Boat was my favorite beach. The waters are the clearest we found, the beach sand was fine like baby powder, great spot for snorkeling and seeing fish and many kiosk options for food and drinks.

Best Beach of Puerto Rico there’s no doubt on that water is so clear you can see fishes by the bridge and people dive into the water by throwing themselves from the bridge. There’s Many food options to choose on pizza, pastelillos, pinchos, lemonades, piña coladas etc…there’s also a restaurant on site if you’re looking for bigger portions. The only thing you gotta get there early cause it gets packed and parking space could get to capacity and you’ll have to park far away.

It’s amazing for kids, picnics, the whole family ordeal. Good place for snorkeling, swimming and suntanning. There is a bridge you can jump off and the whole place is like a dream. 10/10

Best beach in Puerto Rico. The waters are so calm and clear it's almost unreal. Great food nearby. The sand is gorgeous.

Beautiful. Went when there was big waves and rip current. Not a great day for swimming and snorkeling. Will try again. But, the reason for the 5 stars is the sunset. Go for the sunset and you will not regret it.

Beautiful beach with clean and clear water. Food trucks and beach food vendors created a great experience. Loved it. Went a few times.

Great beach with a pier you can jump off of. Beach has plenty of amenities. Food, water sports, jewelry, chair rentals and much more. No one hassles you to purchase anything. Beach is reasonably clean. Would suggest going to the far right where it's a bit quieter and away from the crowds to enjoy sunbathing in silence. Parking, can get full quick, so get there early. Beach is perfect for sunsets.

Great beach, but it is a little dirty. There's various places to get food and drinks.
Definitely get here early to get parking or you'll be parking along the road up the hill!

Beautiful clear beach. To get good parking, you need to arrive early, or you will end up on the side of the street and really far from the beach.

Great beach! Clear water. There are chairs and umbrellas to rent and has a lot of food/drink options!
Hacienda Buena Vista, a 19th-century coffee plantation turned living museum, offers tours of its scenic grounds and restored machinery. Visitors can explore the property's various buildings and learn about Puerto Rico's history as a coffee exporter. The tour provides in-depth insights for history enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. English and Spanish tours are available, with comfortable footwear recommended for walking on different surfaces.
Nice demonstrations of restored 19th and early 20th century mill. Short trail hike through forest showing coffee, cocoa and other early agricultural commodities in their natural setting and tour of farm/mill buildings associated with production. There are 2 different sites that offer their own experiences. We chose the one closer to Ponce.

This Hacienda is beautiful with lots of history behind it. The tour is about an hour long which shows you all it's surrounding including the house where they lived, the river with the waterfall and all the antique machinery which up to day still works. They demonstrate the working machinery in front of you, it's awesome.

What a great tour! We learned so much. Our tour guide, Ana, was so full of knowledge it was unbelievable. The only criticism I have is that I wish the would do the tours in English and Spanish.

Website is in Spanish and very difficult to navigate, but miraculously I was able to complete our online reservations in advance. Arrived 30 minutes early. Guard made us wait outside the gate for almost an hour while a large aggressive dog barked at us the entire time. Tour guide was uninspired and did nothing to engage the group. I will admit that the mid-1800s mill machinery is impressive. The most disappointing part was that they didn’t let us sample the coffee. WHAT? Oh yeah but you can pay almost $12.00 for a tiny 4 ounce bag in their gift shop. Don’t waste your time with this place.

Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. The organization that operates and owns this place is fantastic. They do a great job of preserving the history and conserving the land. I was extremely impressed with the gentleman who gave us a tour. Fortunately I cannot remember his name now but he had a history degree and was extremely knowledgeable and a quite likeable guy as well. I would highly recommend taking a visit to this place.

Ana did a superb job as our group guide. I visited 25 yrs ago. Anyone wants to know one of the thousands of stories about the 19th century history of the over 1,200 coffee haciendas that produced a coffee so excellent that became the official coffee of the Vatican, this is the place to go. The tour takes around one and a half hrs and for a $10 entrance donation is a truly a bargain. Thanks Ana for your service and excellent delivery and documentation.

Hacienda Buena Vista has great, friendly staff and the grounds were beautifully kept when we visited. The tour was very informative for history buffs and the casual visitors alike. The price for the tour is quite reasonable.
Be aware: there are English and Spanish tours available but English tours run only once a day, twice for Spanish. Bring comfortable shoes with grip since you'll be walking on various surfaces from slick concrete to loose gravel. Also, bring a rain poncho or umbrella just un case. Unless rain is very strong or there's lightning in the area, the tour WILL go on as scheduled!! It just adds to the experience, in my opinion. A very recommended experience overall!!

Gilmarie was the best tour guide! Super knowledgeable and friendly, she made our time at this Hacienda incredible. She really went above and beyond with our time at the hacienda, she answered all of our questions, about the architecture, trees and machinery presented. All of the machinery is from the 1800s and works with the power of the river water. It's incredible to see it working. The river, waterfall, and forest are amazing, along with the tree diversity, it's a beautiful place for kids and adults alike.

It is the very best tourist attraction in Puerto Rico.
I have taken dozen of visiting friends, mostly sailors, to this impressive, interesting and beautiful place.
Last week I visited Hacienda Buena Vista and the last and best exhibition, was close due to restorations. Hope it opens soon!

Hacienda Buena Vista was a top-ranked activity by our family (two teens, two adults). As primarily English-speakers, we were disappointed that all tours during our week visit were offered in Spanish. So, we signed up for a Spanish tour. It turned out there were bilingual staff that were able to accommodate us on that day. Friendly, super well-kept property, and interesting.

Very nice! Your guides were very knowledgeable about about its history and what is currently growing/harvesting on the property which is kept in very good conditions. My family enjoyed it even though it rained a bit!
It would be great if the place had more advertising!
It would be nice if a you included a coffee machine (even a coin operated one)☺️. 👌

Tried calling days in advance and no one answer the phone.
Drove to the place and when we arrived at the gate , the lady was extremely rude and said that were closed due to it being a day of training for staff. I asked her if they had a bathroom for us to used and simply
Said no and closed the gate in our faces .
We drove well over and hour .
Was very sad about the encounter since I was looking forward to the experience.

Simply amazing and a must visit for anyone interested in the History of Puerto Rico (particularly the history of Ponce).
Ruins of plazas, ball courts & burial sites from pre-Columbian cultures, plus a museum, cafe & shop.
It was a pleasure. But sad we were the only ones there. The staff was extremely friendly and informative. Admission is fee. I guess the government is doing something right by keeping this preserve open. History is important.

This is a great place to visit to learn about indigenous cultures, not just in Puerto Rico but around the Caribbean. It's free to visit and there's an awesome guide dog he took us to the indigenous site and was kind enough to wait by the bridge for us and lead us along the path and then bring us back to the main building. Don't know if he's official or a trained but it was a nice touch. If you're looking for something nice to do that won't cost you any money. This definitely will be a great place for you to check out.

We had an amazing experience. The gentleman at the front desk was fully bilingual and extremely gracious. There is a small gallery with pieces made by a local artist. The main museum, while small, is packed with artifacts excavated from the site. Signage inside the museum and along the path to the site are in English and Spanish. We highly recommend it if you are in the vicinity of Ponce.

Awesome to see and learn how "Tibes" was discovered after a hurricane in 1975. The history, the artifact and the culture of multiple islands accross the caribbean where the Tainos left their legacy for us to enjoy today.

Very friendly staff. Very clean. It was not crowded that was perfect.
They have an unique and important collection of Caribbean archeological discovery. Also they have a lot of different plants and trees natives of the carribbean.
The travel through the park is mindful, relax and go back to the past.
It is a place for everyone.
I hope in the future they can provide a place to eat and a park place for the kids can play a little bit. As well more attractions for kids. Its a great place to learn whole family specially the kids.
My daughter is 7 years old and she enjoyed the visit.
Also I will like to see a giftshop that can sell water and souvenir.
I would to see a theater with a short movie and probably someone that dress up like a taino can be fantastic.
Well it is my recommendation.
I had a pleasant experience with my family. I recommend and I definitely visit again.

This is a great indoor/outdoor museum to learn more about Puerto Rico's rich Taino history (and free!). When we first arrived, a resident dog, known locally as a self-taught tour guide, greeted us at our car and walked us all the way up to the entrance of the museum itself. There are two small areas to visit at the entrance, both filled with a lot of great information, portraits, and artifacts of the Tainos. From there, you can walk down a set of steps towards the ceremonial plazas after crossing a bridge above a stream. The tour dog will lead the way and wait for you if you take too long (he just watched me while I took photos, lol, like why are you taking so long). The tour dog runs about the property while you walk on a dirt path through beautiful trees, many of them Higueras, until you finally see the plazas. The area is grassy, but not tall. Even though it's in busy Ponce, it's quiet and calm. It's perfect to sit down and just enjoy the peace and how close you feel to the ancestors that once lived there.
The resident tour guide dog walked us back, but not after coming back for me when I stepped off the trail. He will definitely make sure you are safe and coming back! Once back, we spoke to a gentleman who told us the story about how the dog taught himself to be a tour guide as he watched and joined the actual tour guide during all the school trips. Know that he does not demand pets or jump on you. He will just rest while you enjoy the museum and scenery. This is truly a beautiful place and worth the visit!

Very educational visit. Displays are in two different rooms then you go to the botanical garden and post it, to the excavated area. There are various tenants of stone structures but no explanation panel, because archaeologists are not sure what each structure was meant for. Smoke parking, visit is free, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We felt personally and warmly welcome.

Great experience! The staff/tour guides were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the land and it’s significance. Such a beautiful and significant location to visit to learn more of our culture.
Museo Castillo Serrallés, a former 1930s palace transformed into a museum showcasing local history, is surrounded by intricate landscaping. Even if you miss the museum's regular operating hours, it's worth driving to the entrance to experience navigating steep hills and blind curves. The daytime offers breathtaking views all the way out to the ocean.
This one of great places to visit. Local historic castle. All tourist guide is lovely and friendly. what i like most inside the castle was the first time i able to see made in gold dining ware from 1930’s. Also, the interior design and furniture was stunning. Must see it in person, since photos are not allowed during the tour inside the castle. For me its all worth it. The price for tour was cheap too.
Also, They have souvenirs shop and bar that have a lot of choices.

Nice view overlooking the town. Drive up was a bit different, the neighborhood around the lower part of the hill almost seemed abandoned but once we arrived, the mansion and the grounds were very nicely kept. Road is curvy. Purchase tickets up the hill, before parking, $15 for the interior tour, $10 for gardens only. The tour was thorough and began with a film featuring the history of the property and the founding family (film in Spanish with English subtitles). Interesting and worth the drive if you're into historical architecture.

This is a historical home for the area that is very well maintained. The Don Q drinks are available for purchase and the prices seemed very reasonable. The guided tour was very fascinating and lots of really nice pieces inside that are up to 400yrs old. The dining area inside is really beautifully preserved and decorated, so worth a walk through. If in the area definitely make this one of your most stops. Tour only took about 30 minutes

Beautiful house with so much history to admire. Really good that it is being maintained after all these years. Natalia was a very good tour guide, very knowledgeable. You cannot take photos for most of the tour but they let you know when you can. Bit backwards to buy tickets as you have to go into the grounds and into the gift shop whilst the people who you are with wait with the guard at the entrance by the side of the road. Would recommend buying tickets in advance to save the hassle. Also, tours are at set times and last roughly an hour so you have have to wait but whilst you wait you can visit the Jardín Japonés or Torre de Observación El Vigía which are both close by and the $15 admission allows you into all 3 places.
Christian McCulloch — Google review
Very beautiful piece of history. I do recommend buying the tickets online since doing it in person is very backwards. They make you go into the gift shop and have the rest wait with the guard. The point of sale for tickets would make more sense at the entrance with the guards. Not allowed to do photos in many parts of the building. They do let you know when you can take photos. The employees are very knowledgeable, and the old video is very interesting to watch.

Whow! We were sceptical at first but the tour through the castle was absolutely amazing! We had a great and enthusiastic tour guide who took 90 minutes to lead our small group through the castle in Spanish and English. Stunning place and fascinating history! Definitely a must see!

If you miss the Museums regular operating hours, it’s worth the drive to To the entrance, if for no other reason then to see if your car can make it up the steep hill and around the blind curves. It’s especially worth going during the daytime so you can see the great view all the way out to the ocean.
And if you’re into Christian religious monuments, there is a huge six story cross on the top of the mountain, which you can go into and take a view from the observation deck inside of it.

Really cool part of Ponce's history. Worth checking out for the view alone. Its location and altitude overlooks most of the city. During the days it's nice, offering tours of inside and the medium sized (.5 acre?) Garden areas. It has a Cafe and gift shops, and Don Q tasting areas. At sunset and at night, it's pretty gorgeous. Absolutely worth the trip if your staying in Ponce.

It's an exceptionally beautiful place full of history; it has an aviary, but it's a little small and not too populated. The surrounding attractions are interesting, but the main focus is the castle/mansion, would definitely recomend as a place to visit. If it's not on your bucket list, then add it, it's an experience to remember.

Pretty cool place to tour as a pit stop. Feels a little like marketing for their rum than an actual museum but cool to see. Cost was $13/pp and it includes the Castillo, Gardens, and cross observation. My family and I really enjoyed it.

Not sure how I feel about this place. Another story of settlers taking over and using our people, land and resources to build their empire. Love how some of it is in its natural state with its original appliances. It's gorgeous but we can't take pictures. Idk the rican in me was thinking about how we were treated with this company taking over.

What a beautiful and amazing place this is, way up in the hills overlooking Ponce. We did both the Don Q and the Historic tour, and both were great. The house itself is immaculately done, and there is so much to admire and embrace. The story of the Serralles family and the history of the sugar making and rum production are front and center. For an extra $10, you can explore the grounds and the Cruceta Del Vigia, which are so enchanting in their own right. You get to make two drinks during a mixology class, get to sample aged Don Q rum, and are greeted with a delicious frozen rum drink upon your arrival. Shout out to our guide, Rina, who had us entertained and laughing the whole time. This is a can't miss activity for anyone visiting Puerto Rico.

We went for the rum tasting tour. It was such a great experience to taste the local and historical Don Q rums and then make mixed drinks with it. I will say this experience is not for people who do not enjoy hard liquor. The first rum we tasted, straight from the barrel, was 65% alcohol! I do feel that we did not get to tour as much of the property as we were hoping for. The actual tour part through the castle was very short and most of our hour and a half tour was just tasting the alcohol. Our tour guide was amazing as well! She did a great job of engaging everybody into the experience. The views on the back patio overlook the whole city of Ponce as well as the southern coastline of Puerto Rico and a beautiful garden, part of the castle property.

It is a three part area with seperate tickets. It has the Japaness Style Garden (beautiful spot) a tower and the castle. The castle tour includes the other two. I'll go by each part.
The tower is impresive looking and you get an an amazing view of Ponce. Sadly I wish I could say this is from the top of it, but the top part out of security, and of course protection from the wind, the windows are in a V shape with enforce metal and is hard to get a view from there. Now the elevator ride is another thing, is glass all around and you can get an amazing view as you go up to the top.
There is a bar/restaurant on the bottom which also has an amazing view, didn't get to taste anything though.
There is the japanese garden with really great peaceful scenary, great for pictures and to really relax overall. Is a really nice experience.
The last part being the castle tour, it also offers some amazing sight of the city and beautiful garden. There is no pictures or videos during the tour except in one specific area just for those interested in going for picture experience, is still a nice piece of history and the tour guide was helpful.
Is truly a uniqur experience that I do recommend.

A must-visit during your time in Ponce! Museo Castillo Serrallés offers a captivating immersion into the history and culture of Puerto Rico. The exhibits are fascinating and well-presented. However, I recommend taking a few minutes to rest after the tour before hitting the road again, as the experience can be enriching but also a lot of Rum testing. Parque de Bombas is a historic structure in Ponce, Puerto Rico, which was the island's first firehouse and later transformed into a museum in 1990. Located in the downtown area, it is part of the main hub of activity and surrounded by popular tourist destinations such as Plaza Las Delicias and Catedral Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe.
This is a wonderful little place to visit in Puerto Rico and a MUST see if you're in Ponce. It's located right in the central Plaza surrounded by great little restaurants and shops. The Parque de Bombas is a tribute to the original firefighters in Ponce. There are photographs of the units from the 1890's and early 1900's, memorabilia like uniforms, trumpets and bells that used to alert the townspeople that there was a fire and even a old firetruck that supposedly still runs. The museum is free, and the volunteers that care for the space are super friendly and have a wealth of information to share. They will even help guide you to fun things to do in the area around the plaza. We had a wonderful little experience there.

A little building full of history. We where assisted by local friendly police to cross the street and get to the front of the Parque de Bombas. Then a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide gave us the welcome, and began telling everyone in the party the history of this place. She was able to engage the attention of the little ones and explain everything in a way everyone could understand. Kids made questions and she answered them all. It doesn't take long to hear and see everything, 30 minutes tops. But it's a place you want to go visit and learn about Ponce's history.

Parque de Bombas in Ponce, Puerto Rico, is a quaint firefighter's museum that has a lot of history to offer.
The museum provides a history of the fire service in Puerto Rico, mainly fire service in Ponce.
There is an antique fire engine in the main floor and memorabilias, old tools that were used back in the day, and head gear, just to name a few on the second floor. There's also a space where patches from other Fire Departments are displayed along with patches from other civil services, like EMS and Police.
The museum staff are helpful and attentive.
All had a great time at Parque de Bombas museum.
Thank you for the brave men and women and THEIR FAMILIES of the volunteer fire service for all that they do. The families of these men and women also sacrifice.

Head on over to the town square of Ponce Puerto Rico! There you will find el Parque de Bombas. Red for fire and black for ashes are the color of this fire station in center square of Ponce Puerto Rico. It is known as the Parque de Bombas. “It is a historic former fire station in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is one of Puerto Rico's most notable buildings, with some considering it "by far the most easily recognized landmark in the Island." It is located at the Plaza Las Delicias town square, directly behind Ponce Cathedral.” You will learn the history of the eight hero’s who saved the town from a fire. There are volunteers who will tour you in the building. If you are a firefighter bring a patch and donated it to their wall of firefighters patches from around the world. Then you can head over for some ice cream at King’s Ice Cream shop and go gift shopping. Blessings 💕.

Very beautiful beach. This is not a safe beach during surfing season of your not a surfer o experiencia diver etc..
The waves are very strong during surfing season which is winter time is year. It is good for bodyboarding, surfing, windsurf.
During the none surfing season it's great clear waters and warm waters a great for sun bathing and snorkeling.

What can I say... another beautiful beach to visit. We stayed a block away and decided to do a morning walk. Only a handful of people were out enjoying the waves and sun. It was perfect for a romantic morning walk as we enjoyed our last day of in the magical island. There is a surfing rental spot so if you want to catch the waves it’s the perfect location.

Loved it. Some locals were swimming but we were fine just walking and enjoying the cool water. It was our first stop for the day and we spent at least an hour, possibly two discovering, taking pics and just soaking up the vitamin sea before heading on down the crazy road of life. The tiny life you find if you take the time to look is so worth it. And if you're looking really close, you might find a bit of something you wouldn't expect. My husband found a padlock that was becoming a bit of coral. A bit of warning, the rock shelf along the edge of the beach gets super slippery with algea, even if you have on shoes. Safety first peeps!

We went here twice while staying in Rincon. This beach was the nicest for swimming and laying on the beach in the area and was very scenic with blue waters. There is a small parking lot that fills up late in the morning. We visited on weekdays both times at the end of May. We felt almost like we had the beach to ourselves. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid too much direct sun and for easy parking.

Beautiful beach to catch sun or some good surf. It’s a beautiful place with tons of options nearby for food and drink. Highly recommend it for anyone trying to catch a day off or their first real wave as a surfer in the Rincon area of Puerto Rico.
Great for surfers, not so much for swimming. Still had fun playing on the beach and on the swing. Beautiful turquoise water... and the lighthouse was just up the street.
Aubrey Carter — Google review
Was an ok beach in our opinion. There was lots of seaweed in the water and on the beach. And be careful because lots of sea urchin shells with the spikes still on them mixed in the washed up seaweed. Our kids mostly enjoyed a swing there. There is parking down lower by the beach, but it might require 4WD.

Beautiful beach with amazing views. There are a lot of reefs before getting into the water, so take some water shoes. You can collect a lot of sea glass here. There is a bar that has great Mojitos! On the weekends they have a market with various vendors.

Beautiful place to enjoy with the family or alone.
Faro Punta Higueras is a picturesque lighthouse that dates back to the late 1800s and is located in a scenic oceanfront setting. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the nearby beach, watch surfing competitions or simply relax in one of the many seating areas available. The elevated perch provides an excellent vantage point for observing the sunset or taking pictures. Local vendors selling crafts may be present on occasion, adding to the charm of this historic landmark.
Very nice lighthouse and park. Lots of areas to seat and/or just admire the beautiful beach nearby. We were lucky to see whales!!! Also, there was a surfing competition the same day we were there, so it was nice to watch it for a while. There were local vendors on the parking lot selling crafts. I'm not sure if it is always there or just because of the surfing competition.
Anyway, nice place to stop by, take pics and enjoy the views!

This was a beautiful place to stop at and enjoy the view. When we went there was a surf competition at Domes. We loved visiting this place and even had a sangria before we continued our trip. There were artisans and even and ice cream stand like the ones you would find at the beach.

Beautiful location with food and drinks! Descend to a surfers beach or casually watch the surf and sunset from the elevated perch.

Absolutely beautiful. The best location in PR for sunset lovers. This place is well thought. There is a walkway around the lighthouse and over the cliff with great views, no matter where you stand. Food and drinks are available at the restaurant or you can bring your own. Plenty of parking. Drone friendly. No fee. Access to the lighthouse not possible. No reservations necessary. Short walk from the parking to the lighthouse. Best sunsets ever!

Wonderful Views and Experience.
If you are visiting the West Side of Puerto Rico, you have to make a stop on each of the lighthouses of the West. But the most impressive of them all, is the Punta Higueras.
The view from this place is spectacular, you can see the Mona Island from the place and also, you can enjoy the nature’s view and scenery around.
There is also spots where you can enjoy with family and friends and have a good time while enjoying your surroundings.
Very amazing place.

Great lookout point to enjoy some breathtaking views of the ocean. If you really want to indulge yourself visit for a sunset. There is food/drinks available and Domes beach is just a short walk away.

Puntas beach next to playa domes is absolutely gorgeous! Was about a 3-5 min walk down the beach and some light climbing over a few rocks to get to but was a very secret beautiful beach! Tons of landscape that’s pretty and the waves sound amazing. While walking down beach could see some tents in the tree line of some campers so seems like a great relaxing unofficial camping spot!

We enjoyed it a ton! And just incase you can’t see the video down below here is what we had to say!
“Get ready for a journey through time and beauty at the Punta Higuera Lighthouse, just a quick 9 minute drive from Container Coquí. It's that perfect place to hang out and watch that amazing Rincón sunset. Grab a drink at the restaurant on site and stare out at the surfers riding the waves in Dome's Beach. There's no lighthouse quite like this one.”
Jesse Colon — Google review
Beautiful views, the visit is less about the lighthouse although it's an interesting relic. There were humpback whale breaches spotted from the boardwalk bar. A very easy and pleasant beach path with multiple access points. Wonderful way to spend a couple of hours

Spectacular spot to watch the sunset! We were on a tour which stopped here- it was truly an amazing sunset. Wish we had more time to explore. Some folks in my group also loved the ice cream being sold at the entrance to the deck of the lighthouse.

Beautiful historical light house, and the ocean very is peaceful. While we were there we spotted two humpback whales in the water. 🐋
We watched the sunset on the horizon. It was a great way to spend the evening.
There is also restrooms inside the park and a small cafe with a bar as well.

It is deeply troubling and disheartening to hear about cases of animal neglect and abandonment, particularly in places like zoos where animals are supposed to be cared for and protected. Such incidents are not only cruel and inhumane but also a violation of the animals' basic rights and needs.
Neglect and abandonment can result in severe physical and psychological harm to animals, such as malnutrition, disease, injury, and trauma. It is unacceptable for any institution or organization that is responsible for animals to fail in providing proper care and attention. It is important to hold those responsible accountable for their actions and take necessary actions to ensure that such incidents do not occur again in the future.
Furthermore, it is essential to create and implement robust laws and regulations to protect animals from neglect and abandonment. This should include regular inspections and evaluations of zoos, wildlife parks, and other animal sanctuaries to ensure that they comply with established standards of animal welfare. There should also be penalties and consequences for institutions and individuals who fail to provide adequate care and attention to animals under their care.

Plaza Colón, a small city park situated on the west coast of Puerto Rico, is a historical and culturally rich attraction. It boasts a beautifully crafted fountain surrounded by monuments, as well as a church and various establishments like cafes and restaurants. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll around the plaza while admiring its intriguing architecture and sculptures.
One of the best small town plazas anywhere! They keep it clean; the sculptures are great, and the whole square is very interesting.

Very nicely lit plaza for Christmas. Few food trucks and kids rides nearby. The beyond a few businesses around this central plaza there aren't many hang out spots here. 🤩 🌻 🤩 Finca El Girasol is a must see destination. The fields of sunflowers are absolutely stunning. My group spent about 2 hours walking around the grounds, enjoying the beautiful scenery and backdrops, taking pictures, and purchasing fresh cut sunflowers from the store. We were there in June. It was hot, so be sure to bring water with you as you’re walking around. There isn’t shade except near the entrance and store. Love this place and can’t wait to return! 🌻🌻🌻

The nicest owner & workers who chatted with me for a long time and who helped me take pictures because I was alone.
$2 entry fee is so worth it.
There are more flowers in February.
Not busy at all.
They sell flowers and fruits for reasonable prices.
Beautiful experience!! I recommend coming here.
Cheryl Monson — Google review
Free parking, $1.25 to walk around the flowers, $3 to buy a cut flower. Absolutely worth it. Sort of magical to walk around so many blooming sunflowers and fruit trees. They sell bottles of water, flowers, and some crafts. Porta-johns bathrooms are clean.
Aaron Shaull — Google review
I was not impressed with the few flowers we saw, but this might be because it's not their season yet. We still saw some. There is a big parking area, but note that the road inside the farm is not paved, it's a dirt road. Accessible with all vehicles tho. We paid $2 entry fee per person. The place is pet friendly, no entry fee for the pet.
Beatriz Nieves — Google review
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Like any other garden or farm and although we are in a tropical island, this place has its seasons as well.
The place will always be open, but you can really see a lot more at the last months of the year.
Now, La Finca de Girasoles is a beautiful place when is fully bloomed.
Keep in mind there's a fee per person when entering.
Prices varies at times and seasons, have some cash on you.
You can also buy some of the fresh from the garden veggies they have and besides looking at the marvelous view, you can also buy some Sunflowers once you're ready to go.
Amazing place for family and friends.
The Guanica State Forest is a vast nature reserve located on the southwest coast of Puerto Rico, known for its subtropical dry forests and diverse wildlife. It has earned recognition as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and features 12 trails where visitors can spot exotic birds such as the Meseta Trail with breathtaking ocean views, or take on the more challenging Fuerte Capron trail, leading to a fort overlooking Bay of Guanica.
Very quiet and secluded; the drive will be difficult if you have a wide vehicle (but the road was in good shape in April 2022.) Bathrooms were clean, but limited services otherwise. Park ranger was there at 830am on a Tuesday; make sure to visit with them before setting out. Bring tons of water and enjoy the views!
Dean Lederer — Google review
This is a review for a short (one hour) visit since we arrived almost at closing time. You can very well spend the entire day exploring the many trails. This is a fantastic natural escape that's easily accessible with ample parking. The forest offers stunning views and various trails suitable for casual walks or more adventurous hikes. The heat can be intense, make sure you take plenty of water to drink and communicate the ranger where are you heading to. The forest reserve is a biodiverse hotspot, showcasing Puerto Rico's rich flora and fauna. Exploring the trails provides an immersive experience into the region's natural beauty and ecological diversity. It's not just a place for nature lovers; it's an educational opportunity to appreciate and understand Puerto Rico's ecological significance and conservation efforts.

Planned my trip around going here only to get here and it be closed. A lady came down to the gate as I was about to leave and I asked her why it was closed and she said they're only open Wednesday to Sunday.. nowhere anywhere online or even at the gate can I find anything that says that so it would be nice if somewhere they put that information. So my review is not on the place itself I'm sure it's awesome It's more on the people who run it and don't do a very good job imagin that. Got to love how there's people in charge of when we can hike and enjoy nature on our own land.
John W — Google review
Absolutely 💯 hiking. Bad thing you have to keep in mind this is a place we're you might see couples doing their things. Also, some people use this area to celebrate spiritual rituals. I recommend going during the day. Bring water since this is a dry forest. If you might want to help the nature.
Cons- Please take your trash... there is plenty on the beach 😪.

Unfortunately the hurricane destroyed a lot of the area as well as a part of the road to get there. The parking is a little further so it's a nice walk through the area to see all the beautiful places.

Roads towards the parking are good and the local people are nice as well.

No stars actually as we made the 40 mile drive only to arrive at a locked gate. Website and Google says it should be open today. Have found a lot of these kinds of inconsistencies here in PR. Similar experience in the rain forest; many trails remain closed from Hurricane Maria which was 7 years ago. Disappointing trip overall.

Close at 4pm...This is so early for tourists and locals alike! It opens at 7.30am, why? Who is ready and at the gate at 7.30am during their vacation? Open at 9am but then close at 5.30pm, it will be much better for everyone.
We had to make the tenuous drive for about 3km until we reached the parking lot where an employee told us we had to leave...we could not even get to the view for 5 minutes, we had to go, great.
Jean-baptiste Guillemot — Google review
What a cool place, a hidden gem in Puerto Rico. I highly recommend visiting here. The main visitor center was destroyed in an earthquake a year ago (according to the park ranger). At first we didn't really know what to do here since the park ranger was at lunch and there were only 2 other cars in the parking lot. We ate a picnic near the visitor center and used the clean bathrooms nearby. By the time we had ate, the park ranger was back and told us about the trials. There's only a handful of trails and he recommended the trail that makes a loop and has an option to go to El Vigia view point. If we do this trail, I highly recommended going to the view point, it is only about an extra 15 minutes and is absolutely stunning. The main trial is 45 minutes (without the view point detour) and doesn't have a ton to look at, though the whole hike is nice, easy, and interesting considering you are in a dry forest on a Caribbean Island.
Definitely check out the cave nearby the picnic area, that was really cool too!

First time here. Heard very good things about the island,44 but I'm thinking that was before Maria. The staff is very rude. No customer service. They don't smile and acknowledge the customer. They gave us a menu for food without explaining that you have to order before you get in the boat. The water was clear and warm but the surroundings are awful. The bathrooms were nasty and they smelled. When we got back to the pier, we mentioned that there was telephone number indicated to order food and we called over 30 times and no one answered. Imagine if there's an emergency, the person would be in big trouble. No way of getting an emergency call. We mentioned we were not satisfied and were going to make negative comments in their page. The staffs response was "do as you want" PR is in desperate need of resources like tourism but these individuals are hurting the island with their rudeness. We were a big group from NY and we will never come back to Gilligan's Island.

I was fortunate enough to be able to dive at this shop for 30+ dives last year. Every dive was incredible. The rental gear is incredible. The staff is incredible. The shop is incredible. Pedro is very laid back and friendly. His family and home are beautiful (I highly recommend staying in one of his cabins). The dives are superb. We went down just days after a hurricane came through that impacted visibility, however it was still good.
Pedro's expert guidance in swimming with Caribbean Reef Sharks cannot be understated. It is an experience I will never forget. Go do it.
The wall is amazing. I recommend taking a light for peeking in crevices and obviously watch your depth. It is so easy to get distracted when swimming with several sharks around you.
After your dives, lounging at the mangrove covered beaches below Pedro's cabins is nice. The locals are friendly and there are nice beaches, food, and drinks readily available and almost everything in walking distance.

Had a great time diving with them at La Pared, located at Palgüera, in Lajas Puerto Rico.
Trip included 2 dives, first one escorted by total of 6 sharks at the end (not scary, it felt safe and were not too big) and the second dive on a reef.
My daughter and I had a great time have to say...
They even change dive gear into a fresh tank in between dives and that was a plus!
Thank you guys!!

Amazing people and dive sites! Pedro was great to dive with and made everyone on the boat comfortable and relaxed even with the varying levels of experience. I've dove with Island Scuba now a couple of times and they are the best. Both Nayda and Pedro are awesome guides -- kind and friendly, super knowledgable of the area, the wildlife, and the best dive sites in Guánica. On my most recent dives, we saw so many Caribbean Reef Sharks, many different species of fish and invertebrates, stingray, and even dolphins. Unforgettable dives every time! Can't wait to dive with them again.

This is my second time diving with island scuba, absolutely stunning. Team is always professional and accommodating! Nayda always greets you with a smile and makes sure you are fitted with the proper gears. Pedro is one of the coolest and most knowledgeable divers I’ve met! He has a magic to call sharks for you :) And he pointed me to lots of fun creatures on our dives, including funny looking conchs with their alien looking eyes, and king crabs fighting against each other! Captain always helps you on the boat to get geared up and ready to go! Although if you have not dove for a while, I recommend to get a refresher before you join, Pedro’s dive is for people who are “ready to go and enjoy”, not a “try dive” for beginners.

Parque Nacional Balneario Boquerón, located on the southwestern coast of Puerto Rico in Cabo Rojo, boasts a stunning three-mile golden sand beach lined with almond trees and coconut palms. The area is known for its coral reefs and abundance of sea shells.
This is the first time I’ve been to this beach and the weather right now it’s so good. The entrance cost is $4.00 and there’s enough parking. Lots of palm trees and it’s very clean. There’s life guard on the beach and they are very attentive. I would recommend going to this beach. The ocean is very calm and right now there’s no seaweed on the coast.

Plenty of space to spread out, shade and tons of parking, fyi no public restrooms or shower, and no food vendors, lifeguard is not on duty Mondays and Tuesdays but parking seemed to be free those days.

What can I say? It is beautiful. I went here as a kid every summer when I stayed con abuela and have great memories. There is a huge parking lot with a $4 fee. There are beach chair rentals and water bikes too. Get there early to get a picnic table. Lots of coral reefs and sea shells across the beach. Head over to the local strip early in the afternoon and get all types of seafood delights and some cold brews! This is still by far my favorite beach! 🏝🇵🇷✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽

I love this place. It is a huge, beautiful beach with swim areas, toy rentals such as kayaks and paddleboats, cabana rentals with more to come! We just cleaned several sections up that were closed after Hurricane Maria 6 years ago, and there will be dozens of united ready to go soon! Just a short walk down the beach in town, there is music, great food, drinks and souvenirs, island wear to browse. There is always something fun happening here!

Is way due for a refurbishing. Still one of the most stunning beach in Puerto Rico

The best beach with coconut tress and benches. Plenty of space for parking (4 $). Excellent place for the whole day itinerary. Just one problem that the bathrooms are always flooded with water.

This is a nice area for sunbathing. Theres no parking. I wish i wouldve taken my snorkel cus most of the area underwater is seaweed. No waves is normal. Lots of small parrots and iguanas. Well manicured beach family friendly area. Plenty of benches to sit and eat at. Showers and bathrooms. A lot of green grass area. Alot of palm trees. Watch your head for falling coconuts.

One of my absolute favorite beaches on the west side with the calmest waters and great views for sunset. Bring mosquito repellant for when the sun begins to set. Bring snacks/ foods/refreshments. I parked on the street outside the gates and walked in.
Playa Sucia, also known as La Playuela, is a stunning and isolated sandy beach located in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. It offers breathtaking views of a lighthouse perched atop red limestone cliffs. This all-day adventure destination is surrounded by natural attractions such as hiking trails, salt flats, bird sanctuary, and offshore fishing. The beach itself boasts white sand and clear turquoise waters perfect for swimming.
One of the best beaches I have ever been to! Gorgeous white sand with turquoise waters. It's also very secluded and was not overcrowded at all. I would absolutely come back here!

The last time I visited Playa Sucia was about 10 years ago. It’s was very beautiful with pristine white sand, and calm, crystal clear water. The drive to the parking area nearest to the beach is best done in a SUV or truck with high clearance, as the unpaved road is extremely uneven. Although, there were a few smaller cars making the adventurous and bumpy trek. Unfortunately, we decided not the stay as there was a substantial band of washed up seaweed between us and the water. At points, the seaweed seemed to be 2-3 feet high and 6 feet wide. Sadly, there was only one other family walking along the beach. I hope this is only temporary and will be able to enjoy Playa Sucia again in the future.

Plan a short walk into a beautiful beach. Lots of seaweed on about 50% of the beach. But the water color is beautiful. Took a hike up the cliffs, saw a sea turtle and fish. Beautiful vista views, turquoise waters, very calm water for kids with a gentle slope. No waves! Lots of shade trees up on the beach.
Hermit crabs were fun to see and lots of birds.
This is a nature.preserve so don't expect any amenities. Pack in and pack out trash. Keep it clean!

A few things to see here: the lighthouse, el puente de piedra (natural rock bridge), and the beach itself. We arrived early for the sunrise at 5:30am, and then walked to see the other things. Wear bug spray for the walk to Puente de Piedra! We came at low tide and didn’t actually get to swim in the water because the shore was full of seaweed, but the view is beautiful.
TLDR: extremely bumpy road, if your car is low to the ground just park and walk. Apply bug spray for the walk to Puente de Piedra. Sunrise/sunset are beautiful.

Hiking around here Is fun. The walk from where the cars could be parked to the beach was about maybe 20-25 minutes. Bring lots of water to hydrate! No vendors out there. And take all of your trash!

The road to the beach has a lot of potholes - still okay to drive though, just need to be slow. The beach itself is not great, there's tons and tons of seaweed. The landscape is scenic and would've been picturesque without the seaweed. There are hiking opportunities close by but we came with the intent of chilling on the beach. If that's your intention too, go elsewhere for now.

Honestly, it's the best beach I've ever been to. I lived in South Florida for 2 years, and this was 100% better than every beach there. Not crowded at all, beautiful beach with white sands and clear warm water. I hate swimming but I actually went for a Swim here for the first time in 9 years. I will return to this beach everytime I'm in PR.

Pretty nice beach, well protected, but the road in is poorly maintained.

Beautiful beach with very nice hiking trails near by. Awesome views. The beach with lots of seedweed but with nice spots in the water. The parking is a little walking distance away. No bathrooms or things to buy.

Playa Sucia in Cabo Rojo is a special sandy beach circling a bay jutting in from the Caribbean Sea. The sand is soft, fined grained and comfortable to walk on while the water is clear, cool, blue-green and with small waves and ripples along the shore. The shallow waters and small waves make it relatively safer for children to play in. There are fish (small and slightly larger) darting around, we even had a rayfish swim right up ! The scenery makes Playa Sucia a delightful getaway for the whole family.
Note: there is no commercial activity or restrooms in or immediately around the beach.

Most beautiful beach I been too on the island so far. Road to get to it is a little beat up, need SUV to get all the way to the beach parking, there's a big hole on the road on the way, but very much worth it. There's tree coverage all along the beach, it's a little seaweed because it's kept as natural as possible.

Very pretty beach! We had a small suv and easily made it over one of the worse parts of the road. We saw smaller cars than ours make it easily as well. We did read that it can be harder if it’s just rained. Once you make it through the initial bumpy parts, you can park close to the beach, about a 5 minute walk. follow the signs! We went a bit later so that parking might fill up. Beach was nice and remote and the water was beautiful. There was some seaweed but still worth it.

Nestled along the coast, Playa Sucia offers a serene escape with its pristine sands, tranquil ambiance, and breathtaking ocean vistas. The higher salt density enhances the swimming and floating experience, adding to the allure of this coastal gem.
Regrettably, the lack of public amenities, including bathrooms, showers, and parking facilities, detracts from the overall experience. The unpaved approach road presents a challenge for drivers, particularly in the final stretch, which may deter visitors seeking convenience.
Furthermore, the limited temporary parking, available only until 5 pm, poses an obstacle for those wishing to linger and witness the sunset from the watch house. This limitation can be frustrating for travelers seeking to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.
While the beach undoubtedly boasts stunning scenery, its remote location and accessibility issues may render it less appealing, especially for vacationers residing in San Juan or the Eastern side of PR. With a lengthy (but scenic) drive of two and a half hours, potential visitors may find the journey outweighs the destination.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ are only for the beach, ⭐️ for everything else.

We almost skipped over this hidden beach and I’m so thankful we didn’t. What a beautiful place, tucked away in a nature preserve. Great to lay out and relax, go for a dip, or go for a hike up the cliffs on either side of the cove. There are no amenities, so stock up before arriving!

Nice beach. Light sand, and very calm water like a pool. It’s like natural cove with cliffs in the end, creating a spectacular view. No amenities, so stick up on water. Also bring your SUV. Right near the entrance there is a sink hole. Small cars have to stop right there and then it’s a walk of around a kilometer. If they fix that, it is a great beach for all.

Very scenic white sand beach with plenty of shady areas under the trees. A little busy on the Saturday we visited, but there was room to space out from others, and few people blasting music unlike most of the other local beaches.
Unfortunately there is a lot of trash around especially along the road if walking from the bad spot in the road. The beach wasn't too bad but I did pick up a few plastic bags.
We didn't take our little Toyota Corolla rental through the pothole. Possibly it would doable but there were a lot of scrape marks on the ground where low cars had bottomed out. Including a picture for others to judge. It was a hot 1.5km walk but that only made the dip in the ocean more enjoyable.
Cabo Rojo Lighthouse, also known as Los Morrillos Lighthouse, is situated at the southwest tip of Puerto Rico. The lighthouse offers an observation deck with stunning views and features interesting photos inside. Visitors can interact with park rangers to learn more about the area. The cliffs outside the lighthouse provide a breathtaking view of the sea, but caution is advised when walking near the edge.
Perched atop 200-ft. cliffs, Faro Los Morrillos is a prominent lighthouse that offers an all-day adventure with nearby attractions and natural activities. Visitors can explore hiking trails, salt flats, a bird sanctuary, and enjoy offshore fishing. Playa Sucia, located on a nature reserve, provides stunning views but lacks facilities so visitors should come prepared for the day.
Amazing views! It is windy and hot and no bathrooms so come prepared. If you have little ones be careful as there are no guardrails. The dirt road in is quite bumpy so be prepared. After you see the spectacular views go take a dip in Playa Sucia, know as one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches here. There was a lot of seaweed when we went but it was still great

Beautiful scenery with clear blue water. Loved the wild/less explored feel of this beach. You can spend the whole day going around the area discover cool spots.....
There were some stray dogs that looked dehydrated and hungry....not sure how they got there.😥 We gave them left over food so make sure to bring something good for them.

2024 Update: This place is beautiful and you should totally do it BUT it hasn't been opened or operational for years. I called the City Hall and they said "We haven't opened that place for years for cars or anyone. If you want to go in it is up to your own risk. Oh and put on some good shoes, you gotta walk like 20 minutes." And he wasn't kidding. We walked for 20 minutes before reaching the lighthouse and it was worth every single moment.

Gorgeous views of the ocean and the cliffs! It's very windy up there so avoid loose caps. The lighthouse itself is alright but the view is what's spectacular and makes it worth the visit

Beautiful lighthouse and place. The view from the cliffs are amazing. It's pretty windy, watch your hat and also your steps.
The walk It's about 1.5 km to the lighthouse from the road where you can park your car.
The view it's spectacular, well worth the walk.
Along the was you can see the last hurricane's destruction.

By far, this is one of my favorite places in PR. The beach Playa Sucia is just beautiful. Waves are not too big to make it a dangerous beach. Yet, big enough to have fun with the family.
One thing that's not great, tho, it's the vehicles access area. The road and the parking area has been abandoned. Therefore, it hasn't seen any maintenance since 2019. It's best to park the car at the very beginning of the road, then walk to the lighthouse and beach. Otherwise, get ready to entirely destroy your car's shock absorbers. Really, it's that bad.
Apart from the road, the beach and other areas are still worth it.

Still a great place to visit. Be sure to drive a vehicle with high clearance... road is bad.
A Yellow Warbler decided to attack the reflection on the car mirror. An unexpected treat!!!

We went there a Monday, Google maps said it was closed, but we were able to get to the place with no issues, be careful when getting to the parking area thought, the roads aren't maintained and it could become a challenge if you bring an small car, you can still make it, but it is a bumpy road.
The views are amazing!

Breathtaking views. Free entrance. Part of the road is not paved, driving an SUV is recommended. There is a 10 mins walk from the parking to the lighthouse that, although is not extremely difficult, is not suitable for wheelchairs or bycicles.

The views are gorgeous, so that alone to me makes it all worth it!
**Don’t expect an easy going experience.** NOT even exaggerating, there’s an extremely rough dirt road getting to the lighthouse. You'll need to go slow, and you’ll be fine.
You'll come to an area to either park/walk trails, or to continue left down the road. I did not go left, so I'm not sure what's down there. But I did park/walk the trails. Make sure to wear sneakers, as there are a lot of rocks on the walk to the lighthouse.
Like I said though, definitely worth it for the views!

It is worth going up to this beautiful old lighthouse!
The view around it is gorgeous.
I recommend wearing comfortable shoes, bring a light jacket. If you don’t like the wind, it was drizzling lightly when we were heading up to the lighthouse, beware of your hat, flying away as well.
It was about 20-25mins to get up to the top, but worth it.

Absolutely gorgeous views! The lighthouse was for sure a hike, a mile and half of walking but was sooooo worth it! So many gorgeous views along the way and a pretty beach on the other side of the lighthouse! The water is extremely salty so forewarning and definitely bring a bottle of water and sunscreen lol you will not regret the hike!

Gorgeous spot. Area - especially the salt flats- looks like it was hit hard by hurricanes and places where cars seem to have parked that were close to the light house are not open. So the walk up feels long in the sunny hot conditions. Views are lovely.

Stunning Views!!! Cliffs are beautiful. I just wish the city or natural resources will take care of the “El Faro” structure to ensure it is well kept. I also wish the road to get there was a smoother ride. Overall is a must place to visit!!!!

Faro Los Morrillos offers stunning views from an abandoned lighthouse, but our experience was hindered by a flooded bridge. Opt for an AWD or larger vehicle to navigate the terrain effortlessly and fully enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Despite the unexpected hike, the captivating vistas make it a worthwhile adventure.

It’s a good 15 minute hike, but totally worth it. The views on the edge of the lighthouse are pretty rad. It was closed but you will have no issues going up there and checking everything out.

Great place to visit if you're in the area with stunning views. Only complaint is that we had to hike approx 1.5 mile each way which we were not prepared for because the gate was closed at the entrance.
Tiger Bhai — Google review
You will need a SUV if you want to get to the closest parking lot…otherwise you will be walking more than a mile to just get to the base of the lighthouse. There is a ditch that took out the front bumper of a car that tried to navigate it.
Once you get pass the ditch you will be on a very bumpy dirt road for at least a mile to get to the last parking lot at base of the lighthouse.
The climb from the parking lot to the lighthouse is moderate and short (~10 mns). However, the star of the show is not the lighthouse rather the cliffs that surrounds it. There is a short hike to the natural stone arch and caves. There is no shade so sunblock and lots of water is recommended. The area is definitely worth a visit!!
After the hike to see the beautiful sights just go to Playa Sucia (it’s a short walk from the parking lot) to cool off in one of the better beach in the western PR.
I recommend brining a cooler with a few frozen water bottles plus some sandwiches, beach towels for after the hike to relax at Playa Sucia.
