It’s a very nice and clean beach. No entry/parking fees and has a good vibe to simply sit on the shore or go into the river. Best time to visit is around evening after 3. There are multiple food trucks nearby during evenings. Water is clear and sunset is beautiful!! Very calm and relaxing place to be.

This my favourite beach. Whenever I visit Karwar. I comes here atleast thrice in a week. The sunset scene is always good. The bad part is the cleanliness. You can see a line of litters all over the beach. Boat ride and Jet Ski are 2 water sports were available. Most of the people visit this place on Sunday. You can also find Kulfi and peanut sellers.

Very peaceful and clean beach. Simply loved my visit here, could spend an entire day without any disturbance. Though it was bit too sunny last Tuesday (20th Dec). The view was simply serene and the waves were not rough at all.

Neat and clean beach. Excellent place to spend the evening and witness the sunset. You could also get to experience the INS Chapal Warship Museum which is right next to the beach at a walkable distance. They are also installing the model of a fighter aircraft, which is yet to open.
Also try to visit the Warship Museum located right next to the beach.

Beautiful beach, not so crowded and easily accessible from the Hotel Amrut Aura.
Visited twice. Once during high tide and the other time during the low tide. We noticed to be a lot cleaner the first time but the reality was revealed when the tide turned. It is littered with so much plastic, packaging, bottles etc.

Not much happening at the beach .
The beach needs to be well maintained in terms of cleanliness , scattered vendor shops , no pathways to walk as street vendors have occupied it .

The beach is nice and long with gentle waves. As good or in some ways better than most Goa beaches. Unfortunately, it lacks maintenance. If more effort is put to clean it and maybe open access points from the beach to the rock garden and warship museum it can be as happening as Goa beaches, if not more.
Dr. Deya Roy — Google review
The beach was pristine and pleasantly uncrowded, situated at the northern tip of coastal Karnataka within Karwar town, the district headquarters. It's a must-visit beach in Karnataka. Nearby attractions include an aquarium and rock garden, close to the Goa border. The gentle waves and the captivating sight of the sun setting behind the hills are memories of Karwar that I'll cherish.

This is famous beautiful beach situated at karwar city. A very nice, natural beach, clean and peaceful. You will love the sunset here..!. You will find some crowd at evening after 5 pm, you can walk, relax on the beach with your family and friends.
Key points:-
1)You can experience boating here.
2)Parking facilities for two wheeler available inside.
3) Some good cafes ,chats centers and resorts are available
4) visit Warship museum near beach
5) Toilet facilities are available
The INS Chapal Warship Museum (K94) is a beachside history museum housed in an old warship that showcases the Indian Navy's past. The displays include a video and exhibits, including missiles used during wars in the 1970s. The well-maintained museum features the officers' suits, workstations with old monitors and machines, and their living quarters. Visitors interested in history can learn about the ship's stories on display on its sides.
Very good place to spend some time exploring our rich history.. can have a real time look into full warship which was once protecting out nation. Entry charge is 15 for adults and 10 for children. Sad to see its not maintained well, movie room was not available no guidance or details mentioned in each section.
tousif ahmed — Google review
It's just next to the highway, but in dilapidated condition. There are layers of paint dropping, severe corrosion, everything tied with ropes. Looks like there is no active maintenance. The ship itself has a great history and gives a chance to see what life on a warship is like. Worth the visit but take care and be safe. Only cash accepted for tickets.
Sourabh Parsekar — Google review
We visited this warship museum recently. It's informative and nice way to learn about the 1971 war and Navy's role in the decisive victory. Views of the Arabian sea from the ship deck are amazing. The ship premises are generally well maintained but pandemic seems to have affected the housekeeping a bit. The place closes at 1pm which is a bit disappointing. The ship deck would make for a nice sunset view point of it remained open at evening. Overall a pleasant experience.
Karthik Jois — Google review
Place was good even though the maintenance could be improved. The warship had several places where it was rusted and posed a danger to the kids and the old. If there was a little bit more explanation as to the chambers and the engines it would help kids and elders to understand a bit more about the functioning.
Ramya SG — Google review
Great place to visit to look back into the great contributions of the Indian Navy. Gives a great proud feeling of pur Indian Navy. Didn't go inside, but I felt the vibes of Indian Navy. Near to the beach. Great experience. Next time, I will go inside and write a review about it.

Visited last week on a sunny day to karwar. We had a very wonderful experience at this museum. Seeing the warship from really close is a great experience. Karwar is a hidden gem of India in terms of tourism and it's mesmerizing beautiful and clean beaches. Especially the tagore beach,om beach and tilmati beach.
And what makes karwar stand tall among all coastal cities is the India's largest navy base under construction known as project Seabird (INS Kadamba).
It is also famous for its seafood which is available throughout the year.
What makes the city top attraction is it's beautiful beaches and proximity to goa and other coastal cities. It is easily accessible from all parts of Karnataka. It has bus route connection from all cities and the road connecting to the city is good.
Sanaulla — Google review
A great spot to get the inside view of warship. Entrance fees was 15rs. The place was not crowded in the morning. Located very close to Rabindranath Tagore beach. This along with the beach will be a good couple of hours visit. Will get the best beach view from top of the ship.
MIDHUN T P — Google review
The ship war museum, although not impeccably maintained possibly due to limited funds, is worth a visit, especially if you're traveling with family and children. Situated conveniently next to the coastal highway passing through Karwar, it provides insights into the history and details related to the navy. Karwar itself holds significance as one of India's prominent naval bases. While the actual warship is on display, its upkeep could be improved. Offering an official guided tour for tourist groups would enhance the experience. The entrance fee is a mere Rs 15. I appreciated the staff's gesture; despite a power outage during the day making the interiors dark, they warmly welcomed visitors back in the evening when power was restored.
Harsha Anjanappa — Google review
I love visiting historical places, actually this is not a historical place but a place with great history,it was the warship used in wars in 1970s,it was well maintained.
Everything is been maintained properly here, starting from the entrance to the exit, even the suits used by the officers, their rooms with separate old monitors and machines work stations , everything was maintained properly.
If you're a history lover you must vist here, the stories about the warship were displayed on the sides ,you can go through it,
There was also missiles which was used in the wars,
Overall ,must visit place if you're a history lover,I loved this place,it was also attached with Air-coolers to pamper visitors.
Kavii Nila — Google review
Certainly a must visit if you want to see what the insides of a warship looks like. Ship maintenance could be better but nonetheless it is what it is. Garden is maintained really well.
Sanjay — Google review
A frigate which saw action in the 1971 war serves as the museum. Somewhat in a state of disrepair but still gives a very real sense of how navy ships are, cramped, packed with machinery, and did I mention cramped? Worth a visit. Plan for around 30 minutes.
Arun Tanksali — Google review
Must visit place in Karwar. Though the technology and building style of warship have changed a lot, but you will get an idea of how it was in olden days. This is a real warship used in 1971 war.
It's near to Ravindranath Tagore Beach. Timing 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Lovely piece of history preserved over time. The newest addition is the the TU-142 bomber of the Indian Navy. The warplane is set to open for public from Dec 16, 2023
Vijay Kumar — Google review
If you have never been on a naval ship before, this is a great chance. As some passages and entry/exit points have steep staircases and are narrow, it might inconvenience the elderly. However, not impossible to navigate through.
Being in the ship shows how difficult the conditions can be especially when this magnificent beast might have sailed through the rough seas fighting enemies.
The fighter jet wasnt available for visit at the time we went. Ample parking is available under the flyover opposite the Museum. Worth a visit to see the history.
Denzil D — Google review
It’s not often that you get to see Navy ships from inside in India. Fascinating insight into life of a sailor.
Ticket is ₹15 for adults and ₹10 for kids.
Should take about 30 minutes to complete
Saurabh Bhargava — Google review
Amazing place adjoining the Highway, overlooking the Ravindranath Tagore Beach and next to the Rock Garden, the warship museum is a must visit if you come to Karwar.
The INS Chapal Warship is said to have been an active warship with the Indian navy during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. For an Armed Forces enthusiast, like me this place is a must see as you can actually experience the feel of a Naval ship from inside.
The latest addition to the museum is a Tupolev Tu-142 aircraft which is as big as the warship, if not bigger. Though, due to open in 2020, it still remains closed. The grounds are nice with some shade and a few places where the elderly can sit.
Inside the ship is cramped and not well maintained so people with claustrophobia and disabilities need to take care.
The view from the top deck is amazing. There is Ample free parking under the flyover opposite the gate.
Would have given it a 5 ⭐ but for the lack of maintenance.

Loved this museum.. one must visit to understand the naval army’s life, difficulties and their commitment to protect us from the enemy! Jainhind

It was the best experience i had in recent times. There is a lot to say about this place. Rs 15 per person. You can carry your food there. The best time to visit is during the evening. You will get a lot of space for parking below the National Highway bridge. For children they have less fees. Must visit. Like and follow my profile. Here i will help you to visit better places. Thank you.

Not maintained, especially when it is referring to Indian Navy. They do not allow to see the Fighter jet.
We had high hopes but, were left utterly disappointed.
Indian Government or Indian Navy should take more interest in maintaining and keeping this place as a major tourist attraction in Karwar.

Karwar Beach is a serene and peaceful location perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and taking long walks. It boasts of being the cleanest beach in the area and offers breathtaking sunset views. In addition to its natural beauty, visitors can also enjoy street food stalls selling delicious snacks, sodas, and ice cream. The surrounding areas include public places such as rock gardens, warship museums, an aquarium, and drive-in restaurants all easily accessible from the beach.
One of the most scenic beaches of coastal Karnataka. Located just before south Goa is this unique beach. The mountain at the back drop adds to the charm. The beach is clean and well maintained. There plenty of benches kept facing the beach for families to sit. there ample parking. To sum it up a must visit place.

Very clean and quiet beach. Very less crowded on week days. This beach is not commercialised like other beaches of Uttara Kannada (Gokarna, Murdeshwar etc) . The views are great.
Easily accessible from highway.
Kids can enjoy a dedicated kids play area, war museum and rock garden. However, the aquarium seems to be closed now.
My photos may not be that good as we took photos during a cloudy and rainy day.

I can't say enough about the stunning beauty of Karwar Beach - it's hands down the most beautiful and cleanest beach you'll find in Uttara Kannada district. What's more, it's incredibly family and kids friendly, with regular beach cleanings and available water sports at reasonable prices. This is a wonderful place to practice yoga or go for a leisurely evening walk. The beach tends to get crowded during sunset and in the morning with fitness enthusiasts. If you're traveling from Mangalore or Hubli to Goa, I highly recommend stopping by Karwar Beach for some rest or lunch. Trust me, the beauty of this beach will stay with you for a long time.

Om Beach is a popular destination in Karnataka, known for its sandy shoreline that curves and bends for several kilometers in the shape of an Om symbol. The beach is situated amid wooded hills and can be accessed by road. It attracts both partygoers and religious pilgrims alike. The beach features numerous beautiful coves, with wide expanses of sand interspersed with smaller areas perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
A really beautiful beach with rock formations on the coast that makes it special!
The sea would be very rough during the monsoon time , hitting the rocks at full force.
There is parking nearby the beach , but it would be very crowded , as the roads are extremely narrow all around Gokarna. Better to come here on a two wheeler or by walking.
Vikas S — Google review
One of the best beaches in Gokarna, very clean and crystal clear water. There are lots of big rocks at the seashore that are the attraction point and enhance the beauty of this beach.
Here the sunset view is very peaceful, romantic shades of red and orange across the sky.
Just wanted to clear few things when you go to I’m beach with your own car so be careful at the valley because there is no specific parking place available here peoples are just park the car along the one way road and since the road is very narrow and steep slope it’s very difficult to turn the car and forward in a steep slope you my suggestion is only park your vehicle in a flat surface road don’t park on slope otherwise you will stuck or high chances of accident.
Second thing also careful from local vehicles “travellers” they drive very roughly and they haven’t stopped their vehicle even on pass or horn.
So my road experience was very bad.
Once you park the vehicle you have to trek around 500m for the beach point through stairs.
Only one cafe shack is available “Namaste Cafe” which is very good and you can enjoy the drinks and beverages here.
I have clicked few snapshots you can see the natural beauty of oh beach.

One of the best beaches I have ever been to!
The beach is fabulous and clean.
The stone structures add to the beauty of the beach.
One of the best places one can be to witness a wonderful sunset.
There are certain photographic points where the waves rise high because of stone structures.
The water is clear.
There are eating outlets available near the beach.
There is a staircase from the main road to the beach down. Some of the steps might be steep for some people.
To get a good view of the beach be there at least 1 hour before sunset so that you could witness the beauty of the beach and sunset.
Happy Traveling!!

Om beach is huge. When you reach the entrance (near the parking lot) you must trek down to reach the beach. There's a very clear step path to trek down so nothing to worry about.
We had taken a road-trip from Bengaluru to Gokarna( 500 km approx) and I must say the drive was beautiful, though at some places road construction for road-widening is in process currently. Hopefully, in few months that wont be a menace.
Once you reach the beach you will start to see many vendors and ferries. Namaste Cafe is right at the entrance.
The first half of the 'om' is the crowded one as it is right at the entrance. To reach the second half of the 'om' you need to walk along the first half and reach the other side.
We visited first on a sunday evening, and the beach was so crowded that it disappointed us. Even then we went and found a spot on the rocks to watch the sunsets but soon after the crowd started to gather there as well.
If you visit on a weekday, however, the crowd is limited and you can experience the fun of the waters.
The water at OM beach is dirtier than other beaches in gokarna. But the sunset is absolutely spectacular.
Ferries run on this beach which transport you to other beaches such as - paradise beach and half moon beach.
You can even trek to paradise and half moon beach from om beach.
There are also water activities which are conducted here, but their availability varies with the strength of the tide in the waters too.
If you choose to drive a bike till om beach then beware of the roads as they are broken in some parts. The road is also narrow and has several turns and bends making it hard to know if another vehicle is coming from the opposite side. Nonetheless, the drive till there is absolutely stunning and you'll even get to see OM beach from the top at a very well known sunset point
The sunset was worth a watch. The road leading to the beach is also very well laid with greenery all around and the view point which is quite away from the beach gave a spectacular view of the same.
Being one of the most prominent beaches of Gokarna, it gets a little crowded during the peak hours. But one can get a real escape to the nature’s abode watching the mesmerizing sunset and the clear waters splashing against the rocks.
Please carry shades and a hat as it gets really sunny. Carry an extra set of clothes. There are changing rooms and washrooms also.
You can rent two-wheelers for going around.
For cars, the roads in Gokarna are too narrow, but we somehow managed.
There are good places to eat only along the beachside.

One of the beautiful beaches in this belt. You can enjoy the sunset either by sitting on the rocks or any of the shacks. If you opt for a shack, preferably go to the farthest one. The view is amazing from up there. The food or beverages are not the best but manageable in this shack.
The quite walk on the beach is so relaxing.
The shape of this beach is in the form of 'OM' from the top, hence the name.

During the last week of March, I visited the beach, which tends to be crowded on weekends. If you're traveling by car, it's advisable to park along the way as there isn't a designated parking area, and the narrow road can lead to congestion. The beach itself is stunning, and there's a charming café called Namaste, offering a great atmosphere. Accommodation options are limited, so it's wise to plan ahead for stays.

We parked the vehicle at the cliff-top parking ('Kudle Beach Jungle Parking' in Google Maps) and walked to the On beach. It took us 10-15 min through the rocks, jungle, and stairs to reach the Om beach entrance.
While going, it was early morning, so the path was enjoyable, but returning post-noon was a slightly challenging walk.
Om Beach is the most beautiful place in Gokarna. We spent the most time here. There are ample options for food and drinks on the beach. We walked till the end of Om Beach and had lunch at the Sunset Point restaurant.
Butterfly Beach and Half Moon Beach can only be reached by boat or by trekking through the cliff. We took a boat from Om Beach to visit those. Being in between the cliffs, both are very beautiful. There was some tent-type accommodation visible on these beaches, too.

Hello All Travel Lover 💞
One of the most popular beautiful beach in Gokarna,.
It's looks like Hindu Om structure.
Local shops are there for food, snacks and dress.
Another main attraction is Namaste Cafe at Om Beach.
Parking is available.
Thanks for your support and love ❤️😘

This is a rocky beach in the shape of Om, hence the name 'Om' beach.
This is one of the best beaches in gokarna for bathing as sea current is quite low and you can enter deep into the water as there is shallow water.
You can enjoy water sports activities as well.
There is a beach wear shop on the beach that provides good clothes at reasonable prices, balls, slippers etc.
There is Namaste Cafe on the beach that serves good food.

One of the best place to visit near gokarna. I soent my evening there and absolutely loved it. The walk was a bit of struggle but it was worth. There are not many restaurants. The place is bit dangerous coz its slippery, needs to be careful when walking around, especially on the rocks

This is One of the best beaches in Gokarna, the beach is bit crowded mostly on weekends so its difficult to get the place for parking.
The shape of Beach is as its Name is "OM"
Best time to visit is Evening as You can enjoy the sunset either by sitting on the rocks or any of the shacks.
Need to walk little while going to the Beach & its Quite relaxing
Gokarna Main Beach is a lengthy sandy shore that offers picturesque sunset views and attracts both locals and pilgrims. It is an ideal destination for vacations, holidays, or honeymoons during the off-seasons when there are fewer crowds and a peaceful atmosphere. However, it's recommended to avoid visiting during festive seasons due to overcrowding.
Its a nice beach, less crowd as its a long stretch! Amazing shops and restaurants near by. Also they all face towards the beach, so evening and nights awesome place to dine or party! Enjoyed a lot! At night the beach looks amazing. Do visit.

I visited the beach once in March and once in monsoon in June. It has its unique beauty in both the seasons. Obviously it is less crowded during the monsoon and most of the time you won't be allowed to go near the sea but the beauty is mesmerizing. However, don't expect the beaches to be clean in monsoon because the rains drain away the dirt from the hills to the seashores. But you won't regret it. I had awesome experience and I would love to go there again in some time.

It will pretty nice if you visit sunrise. Or sunset. We went almost while it's getting dark. So just enjoyed colours of sky. That's it.
Anyways i am from visakhapatnam, pretty daily visitor to beach here. so i didn't paid much attention to beach visit this time due to tight schedule.
Shall visit next time.

Less crowded and decently clean beach. Loved the vibe here. You can walk through the sea shore for a very long distance. The beach is open full day and night. People here are very friendly as well.

Gokarna beach is a very silent and secluded beach. There are plenty of beach shacks available as well. The beach is very clean and tidy. There are plenty of hillocks which surrounds the beach makes the beach even more mesmerizing. There sunset is a real eye treat, the rocks which adore the beach is superb. The green covering over the hillocks is very natural, during the monsoon season it will be much more greener.

Gokarna Main Beach is a serene coastal gem with its endless stretch of golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and a tranquil ambiance that sets it apart from the bustling tourist hubs. This slice of paradise offers breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, a spiritual touch with the nearby Mahabaleshwar Temple, and the chance to savor fresh seafood and coconut water from local vendors. Whether you're a backpacker or seeking luxury, Gokarna Main Beach accommodates all, making it an essential destination for those yearning for natural beauty and tranquility along the Karnataka coast.

Compare to kudle beach not pretty good This might be the longest beach in Gokarna and is situated a bit far from the other beaches. It is however closer to the Mahabaleshwar Temple and hence you can see many pilgrims taking bath there before offering their puja. The part directly in front of the temple is extremely crowded and is frequented by pilgrims so it might be little awkward for youngsters (particularly ladies) to bathe here in their swimming costumes or shorts. But you can easily skip the crowd if you go a km or more inside the beach away from the temple. Here crowd is also very less, the shacks are also present and you can just leave your things behind in the shack and go and take a dip in the calm waves. We went to this beach near the evening just before taking the return bus and enjoyed a beautiful pre-sunset. Unfortunately we could not wait till the sunset due to lack of time but I am pretty sure the sunset here would have been awesome.

I had a great experience but no beach is clean. Everywhere you will see the garbage. More than beach, I personally liked the trek from OM beach to Paradise beach. Paradise beach is an over-hyped place. Trek was good till that point, but not the beach.
If you are reading this, a gentle request please try to keep clean the beach. Please don't throw plastic or any other belongings.

A road touching beach. Very peaceful and soothing waves. Having a sea view hotel for a stay gives best vibes. The other side has fishing boats. A lot of people come here. An underrated but in a way it is best to avoid overcrowding. Nice beach. Do visit.
No waiting, no entry fees.

An excellent beach area to spend your vacations/holidays/honeymoons on off-seasons due to less crowd and calm place. Kindly avoid the visits during festive seasons unless you are really want to enjoy the crowdness. I suggest to not take cottages very close to beach due to high cost if you have a budget constraints else you can go for it. My recommendation is to take resort which are little far from beach (just 100-200 mts) away from seashore to save up to 50% on your room rentals. The best part is that the beach is full of sea views restaurants to enjoy your meal or snack with hot ☕ or cold drinks 🍻.

**Title: Gokarna Main Beach - Where Tranquility Meets the Sea**
Gokarna Main Beach, a pristine stretch along the Arabian Sea, proved to be a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Here's my take on the captivating beauty of Gokarna's flagship beach:
**Serene Shoreline: 5/5**
Gokarna Main Beach boasts a long and serene shoreline that invites you to unwind amidst the rhythmic melody of crashing waves. The clean, golden sands create a perfect canvas for leisurely strolls and moments of quiet introspection.
**Spiritual Vibes: 4/5**
The beach is flanked by ancient temples, including the famed Mahabaleshwar Temple. The coexistence of spirituality and the soothing sounds of the sea adds a unique charm to the atmosphere, making it a holistic experience for visitors.
**Sunset Spectacle: 5/5**
Prepare to be mesmerized as the sun gracefully dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The sunset at Gokarna Main Beach is nothing short of a visual spectacle, creating a serene ambiance that lingers long after the sun has set.
**Cafes by the Coast: 4/5**
Quaint beachside cafes offer a delightful culinary experience with fresh seafood and local delicacies. The laid-back vibe of these establishments makes them perfect for unwinding with a cup of chai or enjoying a sumptuous meal while gazing at the endless sea.
**Cultural Encounters: 3/5**
While the beach is a melting pot of cultures, I wished for more cultural activities or events to truly immerse visitors in the local way of life. Nonetheless, interacting with vendors and fellow beachgoers provides a glimpse into the community's warmth.
**Water Adventures: 3/5**
For adventure seekers, Gokarna Main Beach offers opportunities for water sports and activities. However, the options are relatively limited compared to some other beach destinations. Nevertheless, a boat ride along the coastline is a must-try.
**Cleanliness and Maintenance: 4/5**
The beach is generally well-maintained, with efforts made to keep it clean. Visitors are encouraged to be mindful of their waste to contribute to the preservation of this natural haven.
**Accessibility: 4/5**
Gokarna Main Beach is easily accessible, making it a popular choice for both solo travelers and families. The approach road, though not luxurious, adds a touch of adventure to the journey.
**Overall Oasis: 4.5/5**
Gokarna Main Beach, with its serene ambiance and natural beauty, offers a welcome retreat for those seeking solace by the sea. Whether you're a sunseeker, a culture enthusiast, or simply someone yearning for a tranquil escape, this beach has something to offer every soul.

The sand is soft and fine, with very few shells or pebbles. The water is warm and did not have any seaweed to speak of. The guest rooms and restaurants along the beach are numerous and the staff are all friendly and helpful. As an American in India for the first time, I found it a wonderfully peaceful place in a country that can be stressful and sometimes overwhelming to foreigners.
Katherine Gagne — Google review
Gokarna Main Beach, located near the Gokarna Main Temple, offers a suitable spot for taking a refreshing dip in the water. However, due to numerous food stalls on the beach, cleanliness can be an issue as it tends to be trashed. Despite this, the overall experience is good, allowing visitors to both seek blessings at the temple and enjoy the beach directly.
A note for temple visitors: If visiting during Maha Shivaratri, expect an unimaginable crowd. Personal experience indicates long queues, with a wait from morning until evening for darshan. Therefore, adequate preparation is essential.
For those planning to stay overnight, there are plenty of accommodation options available. For beachside stays, consider affordable tent stays located about 3 kilometers from the temple, such as Bluefin Beach Stay.

Loved it, the water was very clean, i could actually see my feet and the sand at the bottom, it's a very long beach, so you can always find space. But it's too crowded. So you might not get the pictures you desire to capture but that's okay as long as you enjoy it.
Suraj Niyogi — Google review
Gokarna main beach is famous for the Mahabaleshwar temple around and the big market full of shops. Majority of shops are selling tea, spices, incense rocks etc. You would find restaurants and hotels.
The place overall is dirty as most of the places around temples are which is an irony in itself. If you are driving and coming to the beach, the roads are very narrow and you would feel that the road doesn’t go to the beach, but it does right to the beach.
The place is crowded. Doesn’t give the beach vibes but only religious vibes.

The Sri Mahabaleshwara Swami Temple Gokarna is a significant Hindu temple complex made from granite and constructed in the 4th century by Mayurasharma of the Kadamba dynasty. This highly spiritual temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has multiple shrines, including a central tower that dominates the complex. The inner chamber houses Shiva's lingam, while outside the complex stands a gopura or gateway tower.
Had a wonderful experience visiting this fabulous place. We can get the blend of spirituality and fun here. Water adventures and boating takes our trip to the next level of joy. Beautiful beaches filled with spirituality and fun. A great place for all age groups.

One of the holiest sites in South India. It is the site of the temple of the Atmalinga of Lord Shiva. The line leading up to it gets long and wait times typically range in the 1hr+ range. Men have to compulsorily remove the shirt and baniyan while entering the holy sanctum along with leaving a lungi. The road leading up to it is very narrow and sometimes I wondered if we were even going on the correct road. It gets pretty crowded and hot here, so prepare accordingly. The ground can also get hot while traveling barefoot. Overall blessed to come here and visit the temple.

There is a very strict dress code for this temple , all men must wear traditional attire (Lungi) and must remove their shirts when entering inside.
The roads leading to this temple are extremely narrow , better park your vehicle a bit far and walk towards the temple.

Shri Mahabaleshwara Swamy temple is the holiest place in Gokarna. People all over India do visit this temple as per spirituality. Must visit with family. The temple and its surroundings were disappointing in terms of upkeep and maintenance, with a noticeable lack of effort from the authorities.
Despite the temple's renowned status and my global travelers, I didn't find it welcoming. It's crucial for the authorities to prioritize expanding the road width and maintaining the premises regularly.
If you plan to visit, it's advisable not to bring a vehicle larger than a hatchback due to road leading to temple/parking is narrow. Better take an auto. Otherwise, if you manage to get in - you should find dedicated parking at walking distance from the temple.
Be mindful about the dress code 👈🏼

The temple houses a 6-foot-tall Shiva Linga, referred to as the Atmalinga, which is worshipped fervently. Crafted from granite, it stands as a splendid representation of Dravidian architecture's elegance. This temple finds its mention in the revered Hindu epics, Mahabharata and Ramayana, holding significance comparable to that of Kashi.
There's a stringent dress code in place: men are expected not to wear shirts, while women are encouraged to don traditional attire.

1. No Foreigners are allowed.
2. Men are allowed with lungi as attire (no jeans, pants or shorts) - It can be bought outside from markets in around 70 bucks.
3. Women are allowed with traditional Indian attires like saree.

The place itself is beautiful and our guide was incredible... at one point, even being able to flick between Hindi, English and Israeli when discussing the spices for all people on our tour.
The service was fantastic and the food was out of this world. Such a great experience and would 100% recommend working this into any trip if you are visiting this area of Goa.

Our experience was the most peaceful, rejuvenating, and much needed. Chinmayi was excellent as a host along with his wife. The food was delicious, with everything homegrown and super healthy. I bought a lot of spices and food items from them to bring back home. If you want to explore another side of Goa that's in the forests rather than the beach, do visit. Loved it ❤️

Absolutely one of the highlights of our Goa trip. We were served a delicious, healthy lunch and then learnt so much about spice farming. It was also great to be able to purchase the spices directly. Would definitely recommend visiting!

Our family had a great day at the Tanshikar Spice Farm, in March 2023. It took about an hour to drive here from Patnem beach, where we were staying. Lots of beautiful scenery on the drive. The Spice Farm helped us arrange a guided hike through Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary, which was a highlight of our vacation. Our guide was great! Then we had a delicious meal at the Spice Farm. Our boys were tired out, and we didn't finish the tour of the farm, but the farm was beautiful, green, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was great to see some of rural Goa, away from the bustle of the beach towns. Highly recommended.

This was one of our highlights while travelling India. The host was so knowledgeable and informative and we learned so much about the local herbs and spices that Indians use to keep healthy. I 100% recommend taking a visit here if you are staying anywhere nearby

Me and my husband did the spice farm tour and lunch at the restaurant. The lady that took us around was extremely knowledgeable about the history and characteristics of each spice and came up with some really interesting facts. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We even got to view her family’s mud hut house which was a privilege. The quality of the food and the cacao drink we had was excellent and yummy. We bought some essential oils from the shop. Good value day out. We drove from Agonda. Beautiful drive out.

Regardless of if you are an Indian or a foreigner, this place is a must visit. The host was so calm and absolutely not rushed. She also gave us a glimpse of their ancient mud home. We are very thankful for that.
It costs RS. 600 and you are given a tour of various spice plants and are explained about their growth and harvest. The price also includes a home cooked meal which was delicious. This was my fourth visit to a spice plantation and I am always intrigued to know more. An absolute photo fest for the enthusiast.

We had a nice day at the farm.
We did the Tour with the owner, He explained everything very well, everyone was super friendly.
The food was very good.
We also bought some Spikes for reasonable prices.
I can truely recommend this place!
We did not stay overnight, so I cannot say anything about the rooms.

This is a wonderful place to visit with the owners taking you on a tour of how the different spices are grown in the middle of the jungle using each plant and the natural support system provided by the other plants and the environment to create a natural ecological system for growing spices. The guide was an expert in his subject and his English was excellent and his Hebrew was pretty good too. Also recommend the delicious lunch they serve and the friendly atmosphere. Not to miss if you are in South Goa

It's a well maintained family run spice farm and worth the visit specially during the rainy season. The host is very informative and will give you many facts that one may not know. Local buffet lunch was served which was decent.
Remember they aim for a self sustainable lifestyle so for some who put down negative comments probably expected luxury.

My husband and I stayed overnight at the spice plantation and had a wonderful time. The staff were very kind, friendly and attentive. We went on a trek through netravali and enjoyed the spice tour very much. The food was excellent and we loved the little bungalow we stayed at. It was surrounded by nature and was very romantic. Would definitely commend what chinmay and his staff are doing and recommend it to anyone who loves nature.

The Spice farm is located about an hour’s drive from the south Goan beaches and well worth the trip. The buffet style food is wonderful and varied. Let them know if you want non-veg in advance.
A group of us stayed for a couple of days to celebrate a birthday. The rooms are clean, and some have air-conditioning. There are quite a few different houses/rooms ranging from a traditional mud house with four rooms to more modern huts/houses. There is a lovely spring fed pool to swim and cool off in as well, so bring your bathing suit.
I took the tour of approximately 1 ½ hours with Chinmay, the 3rd generation owner of the spice farm and a fountain of information. The love and care he and his family put into this organic spice farm is evident. It is wonderful to see and learn about many of the spices that we may take for granted in our kitchen. I recommend either a day trip or a stay.

Had a guided 1.5 hour tour of the farm plus vegeterian lunch for 600 INR.
Recommended!
The guide had much knowledge and provided very interesting information (he's a member of the family owning the place - maybe other guides who are employees are not that good but he was reaaly top).
The farm is really impressive. We were also offered a visit to their traditional house.
The meal was OK - indian buffet style.
A local shop offers spices and products at tourist prices.

Chinmay Tanshikar is a humble, gentle and friendly soul who heads this spice farm. He gives you a tour of the entire spice farm. Further, you get to enjoy yourself with a good lunch and lot of items to shop.

We stayed for one night at the farm and did all the activities: tour of the spice farm, E-Bike ride, trekk to the waterfall, and all were very well organised with very knowlegeable guides. The tour of the spice farm is incredibly interesting, I never had the opportunity to see how vanilla, cocoa, coffee, cardamom, pepper, nutmeg, etc grow. The trekk through the jungle took nearly 3 hours, and one can see many exotic birds, monkeys, snakes, lizards, and a beautiful waterfall.
The food at the spice farm (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was excellent!!!!
The accomodation is simple but clean and spacious, and there is a fan and A/C. It's very relaxing sitting on the verandah looking at the jungle.
The staff is super friendly and helpful, many young people from the area who do anything to make your stay pleasant.
Defintely a highlight of our stay in Goa!

One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.
Truly a wonder that this place exists.
The journey to this place is itself so scenic and beautiful that it takes you on a joyride through the coconut plantations and the hills. The roads too are in pretty good condition making it lovable to drive, even a rented scooter!
I was in for a surprise when I first saw the mountain with the black rocks. Must visit once in your life.

Yana is an adventure of itself , i would recommend people to go with their friends or families to have a good time . Seeing the rocks itself amazes you , the treking part is better , you find a temple beneath the rocks. Totally recommend.

We went to Yana Rock Caves during the month of April. It is almost a km to the top and with a 40 degree average elevation for climbing. Good trekking/hiking shoes are recommended, slippers are a bad idea. There is a temple in the bottom area of the caves. Things to carry with you before you go ahead with the climb during April and subsequent months: 2 L water bottle, light cotton clothes, good grip shoes.
Best months to visit: Not April, May. Everything is dry and heat is real hurtful..

Nature's rarest beauty
Natural rocks black in colour pleases the eyes after a tiresome trekking from the base.
A steep hill to walk and few steps to walk,
Beware of leeches
Parking fees for cars is 40 rupees
No entrance fees
Have to pay if you carry plastic bottle
Totally in control of forest department
Line soda available near the caves .
Footwear should be left near the temple below the caves
Small springs can be seen inside the cave
At present the entrance and the exit to the caves is same.

Lovely experience of rock formation. It is so huge and experiencing it that near makes it one of the most memorable moments in the trip. Although you might have to be ready for a short hiking trip as it is literally in the forest. Monkeys are there and lagoons and they will torture you if any you feed any food to them. Please be careful not to feed any wild animals there. No network will be available. Be ready with cash for refreshments with some extra cost.

It's a nice getaway for weekend. I visited during July. Around 5-6 kms road was terrible condition. Have to be very careful during this season. The rush was minimal. No entry fees. I took my pet 🐶 along with me. No restriction for that except u cannot enter the temple. Except the condition of road it's nice to visit once.

Amazing place to trek in forest area, it's difficult for aged people. The moment you see the beautiful and elegant rocks don't remember how difficult it was to trek all the way. Worth visiting the place.
Plastics are banned here and they collect deposits for each bottle carried, a good initiative to prevent plastics. Sarcastic part is they have allowed shops to sell water condiments etc close to the temple and rock where visitor eats and throw plastics/garabe wherever they feel.

Visited Yana rocks on long weekend. One of the popular place to visit in Sirsi, Karnataka. It has 2 ways to reach at yana rocks parking from Sirsi. If you go through Devimane ghat, then you will see Yana Caves board on right side, then approx 16km you need to reach parking. But by this route, you have to walk more with some ascent and steps- approx 25-30 minutes to reach at the top. So, avoid this route if you don't want hike, you can go by another way from Sirsi, you will reach directly to top side parking. From there 10 min descending walk to reach the rock. Nice place to visit once. These are 2 massive rocks called Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and Mohini Shikhara as per history. There is a temple in which self manifasted Linga over which water drips from the roof. Place is surrounded by jungle, best time to visit post monsoon or during monsoon when rain is less.

Yana caves offer a thrilling adventure, perfect for a memorable outing with friends and family. The mesmerizing rock formations leave you in awe, and the trekking experience is truly rewarding. Don't miss the fascinating temple hidden beneath the rocks. For a well-rounded visit, opt for the south entrance to explore the temple and caves, while the north entrance leads to Vibhuti Falls and more caves, as they are not interconnected. A must-visit destination for nature and adventure enthusiasts!

I recently visited Yana caves during the last week of March. The weather was quite hot. There are two routes to reach the caves: one from the Mirjan side and the other from Sirsi. We chose the Mirjan route, which involved a 1.5 km walk. It's advisable to carry cash since there's no network and all tickets require cash payment. The main cave entry is through the temple, where you need to purchase another ticket, each priced at 10 rupees. Additionally, if you want to carry a bottle, you have to pay a deposit of 50 rupees.

Beautiful cave structure that looks unreal at the first glance, there is no network there so keep cash with you, also the bhajiya shop near the entrance is really nice and serves very good bhajiya and Maggie.
There is also a little trek of around 1km from the Parking.

Yana: An Unforgettable Experience with a Caveat
Yana boasts a truly remarkable and unique geological marvel: a breathtaking natural rock formation unlike any other. Witnessing this wonder in person is an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
However, it's important to note that accessing this natural wonder requires a moderately challenging trek, making it unsuitable for individuals with limited mobility or older adults.
Overall, Yana is a must-visit for those seeking an unforgettable natural spectacle, but be sure to come prepared for a physically demanding adventure.

Unchalli Waterfalls is a breathtaking sight, located on a stepped cliffside and accessible by a moderately difficult 5-km hike. The falls are spread out beautifully and there are four view points along the way. The total number of steps to reach the last viewpoint is around 400 and there are walkways in some parts. A rainbow can be seen alongside the falls if you're lucky. The waterfall is well maintained with rest points available every now and then.

Unchalli Falls isn't just a waterfall; it's a symphony of nature played out on a grand scale. From the moment you arrive, a sense of wonder takes hold. The knowledge that this majestic cascade plunges over 50+ meters is enough to set your heart racing with anticipation.
The journey itself becomes part of the experience. Leaving the car park behind, you embark on a roughly 500-meter descent. The anticipation builds with every step as the lush greenery thickens and the distant rumble of the falls grows louder. It's a sensory awakening, a prelude to the awe-inspiring spectacle that awaits.
Then, as you break through the final stretch of foliage, the sight of Unchalli Falls takes your breath away. The sheer power of the cascading water is mesmerizing. The mist hangs heavy in the air, carrying the sound of the falls like a constant, rhythmic melody. It's a symphony for the soul, a moment of pure, unadulterated beauty.
Be warned, the trek back is no walk in the park. The return path, a steep climb, will test your legs. But even this challenge becomes a badge of honor, a testament to the beauty you've witnessed.

Unchalli Falls is a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike. What makes this waterfall truly special is the way River Aghanashini gracefully drops 116 meters, creating a magnificent cascade of water that is simply breathtaking.
There are two ways to experience the magic of Unchalli Falls. You can either admire it from the viewing deck, where you can take in the panoramic view and capture some stunning photographs. But if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, you can also hike down the steps and get up close and personal with the foot of the waterfalls. Exploring Karnataka....at Dandeli...... The famous monolithic granite.....Syntheri Rock.....
At a distance of 31 km from Dandeli and 16 km from Ulavi, Syntheri Rock is monolithic granite structure with a height of 300 feet, which is located in the dense forests of Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. It is one of the top Dandeli tourist places to visit.
Syntheri Rock is a huge, massive limestone rock formed due to volcanic eruptions some million years ago. It is named after an English lady called Ms. Cinthera who is believed to have discovered this place in 20th century. River Kaneri passes along the side of this rock. Owing to the flow of the river from the vicinity, erosion has resulted in the rocks getting hollowed. The corners of this rock cave are inhabited by numerous pigeons and honeybees.
Entry to the venue is controlled by forest department. The site can be reached either by jeep or by walk through the dense forest from the entrance. At the entrance visitors need to pay nominal entry fee and vehicles can go up to the parking area from where visitors need to climb down to reach the base.
There is a 15-20 minute walk from the vehicle parking to the rock. A flight of 200 odd steps downwards lead you to the base. The steps are very steep and various types of rocks found in the forest are displayed along the steps.

A must visit place if you're in Dandeli.
You can park your car in Syntheri Rocks Hebbagilu.
From there you can either choose to walk from the entrance for around 10-15 mins or take your vehicle. There's an entry fee.
Second part of the journey you'll have to go by walk where you might have to walk around 200 steps which is quite slippery during Rainy season, so be careful and hold onto guard rails.
Once you climb down the steps you can view the rock formation and water gushing.

Shri Marikamba Temple in Sirsi is an ancient Hindu temple renowned for its stunning Kaavi murals. Erected in 1688, it reveres the goddess Durga and draws an enormous crowd of devotees during its biennial fair held in March. The fair is one of Karnataka's most significant events. The temple is open from 6 am to 9 pm daily, with Tuesdays and Fridays being ideal times to visit.
Easily, the most synonymous of the landmarks with the town of Sirsi.
The huge temple looks very pleasing to the eyes with those red murals, of Konkani architecture, adorning on the white background of the walls.
The current day building was built in the late 17th century. The temple courtyard can hold hundreds of pilgrims at given point in time.
The town of Sirsi is one of the cultural and heritage centres of Karnataka and this temple is the centre stone of the town.

While photography is prohibited in the inner sanctum, I took the liberty of using a 10x and framed this.. For reasons beyond my comprehension, I found this place one that I will remember for eternity..
Beautiful... Peaceful.. Neat and gives you all those moments of oneness with the Diety

Beautiful temple with lively deity. The energy in this place is noticeable. Local people have a very deep belief in this deity and every alternate year Jaatre is organised at Holi time where there is a massive feast
One of Karnataka's biggest fair is organised which runs over 10 days and is visited by more than 2 lakh people. Must visit. People are polite and helpful.

Shree Marikamba Devi is a very powerful Goddess of Sirsi🙏🏻
You can experience the powerful positive vibes here.
The architecture and paintings of the temple is unique and graceful.
As per the people,In ancient days bull was offered to Devi at the time of Sirsi Fair as per the ancient customs. Once Devi was not ready to come to her place of fair called 'Gadduge' , Bhagavan Shreedhar Swamiji came into this place , the devotees prayed to calm down Devi , So Swamiji Sprayed the Teertha and Devi beacame calm and she came to her Gadduge' easily after that process.

An awe-inspiring gem of history and spirituality, the Marikamba Temple in Sirsi, built in 1688, exudes an irresistible aura of devotion and culture. The captivating idol of Devi Marikamba, resembling her presence in the very room, leaves one speechless. While cameras remain stilled by the sanctity within, the temple's grandeur and intricate wall art create an experience beyond words. As I wandered through its ancient corridors, I couldn't help but feel the weight of time and tradition. The temple's significance stretches far beyond its breathtaking architecture; it was here that the buffalo sacrifices ceased thanks to Mahatma Gandhi's intervention, marking a turning point in our culture. The biannual Jatra, attended by countless devotees, underscores its importance as a spiritual epicenter. The contrast of the modern exterior against the timeless interior adds to its mystique, a subtle reminder of the passage of time. To experience this haven of divinity, secure your puja tickets in advance, for the temple buzzes with life within. And as you exit, don't forget to embrace the tradition of not looking back after praying in the smaller adjoining temple. A visit to Sirsi remains incomplete without paying homage to this sacred sanctuary that encapsulates centuries of reverence and transformation.

Sirsi Marikamba Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Marikamba Devi ( Durga Devi ), located in Sirsi, Karnataka, It is also known as Marigudi, It was built in 1688, Sirsi Shri Marikamba Devi is "elder sister" of all Marikamba Devi's in Karnataka. The temple's façade, a 19th-century addition, is painted blue. After one enters through the façade, there is courtyard in the middle, which has cloisters surrounding it. The cloisters are filled with images of deities from the Hindu epics. The changes made inside the temple have hidden any evidence of older structures. The sanctum sanctorum has the central image of a fierce form of the goddess Durga, multi-armed (eight shoulders[6]), riding a tiger and killing a demon. It is believed[by whom?] that the 7-foot-tall (2.1 m) image was retrieved from a pond on the road to Hangal. The temple has very special paintings of murals in Kaavi art, an art form which was popular in the coastal Konkan region of Karnataka. In this art form, now extinct, the top plastered layer of the mural was first dyed with a red pigment, which when removed revealed a lower white layer of plaster over which the murals were created. The main priest at the temple belongs to the carpenter, or Vishvakarma, caste.[6][8] Mahatma Gandhi visited Sirsi in 1934 but he refused to visit the temple, as animal sacrifice was a prevalent ancient practice at the temple; the sacrifice was in the form of offering of he-buffalo as a sacrifice to appease the goddess.[6] A he-buffalo was specially bred for offering as a sacrifice to the deity during the biennial Rathayatra. Following the protest by Gandhi, there was a social movement in the town to abolish animal sacrifice, this movement was spearheaded by Keshwain, chief trustee of the temple, in association with Vitthal Rao Hodike, a teacher and dedicated Gandhian of the town. objectives of this movement were fulfilled.[The Sirsi Marikamba jaatre (chariot procession) of the deity is held every alternate year in the month of March and taken through the town. It is attended by a very large number of devotees. It is also most famous and biggest fair (jaatre) of the South India. Devotees from all around the state participate in this enormous event indulging themselves in the procession. Amusements for children, circuses, variety of shops, dramas and plays and many such things are set up for the people. It depicts the story of the goddess killing mahishasura.

I recently visited the Sirsi Marikamba Devi Temple in the serene town of Sirsi, Uttra Kannada, Karnataka, and I was captivated by the profound spiritual ambiance that enveloped the temple grounds. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the temple's architecture is a testament to rich cultural heritage, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant colors.
The sanctity of the temple is palpable, providing a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The priests' devotion is evident as they conduct rituals with utmost sincerity, adding to the overall spiritual experience. The deity, Goddess Marikamba, exudes a divine presence that left me feeling a deep sense of peace and connection.

Sahasralinga is a Hindu temple located near Sirsi, known for its intricate carvings of Nandi bulls and hundreds of Shiva Lingas. The site serves as a pilgrimage destination for followers of the religion and features a hanging bridge that adds to its allure. Visitors should exercise caution when swimming due to the presence of whirlpools, but can also enjoy natural fish spas in the cool surrounding waters.
This is a Hindu religious place of attraction as well as worship. The significance of this place is the numerous stone lingas are placed over flowing water along with Nandis as well. History says this was done by the local king to please God for getting children. There are stairs leading to the water and there is a priest who offers Pooja as well.
The place also has a hanging bridge adjacent which connects to the other side and people to walk over. The hanging bridge gives a different view as well to the water flow as well as this magnificent place.
Coming to the location, well connected by good road (when we visited), and there is a parking fee of ₹20. Ample parking space. There is a small shop serving tea/coffee and light snacks, however, not maintained well and not clean.
Overall a must visit in this area and totally worth it.

Amazing Place.
A river with all the Shiva Lingas makes it mesmerizing to view. There is a nearby hanging bridge which has an amazing view of the river as well.
Place does get crowded on weekends. People come and cook food there to enjoy it as a picnic. But please don't pollute the place and throw waste here because it's detrimental to the surroundings and the river.
There is ample parking at the point but even then at times it gets full but you can park a little early if the near parking is full.
Overall an amazing place and worth visiting.

We have been visiting this place from a long time, this place was very much beautiful which was given by Mother Nature. Now the crowd makes it more filthy in this area.
Place when less water can see Linga and Nandi on almost all rocks.
The new hanging bridge also added beauty to this place.
Parking fees is collected but they should control people making this place dirty.
Small hotel where you get few snacks and beverages in this place. Avoid public holiday time this place would be crowded.
Request to visitors is to avoid dirtying the parking or the river.

Sahastra means 1000 in Sanskrit. The place is known to have 1000 Shivling.Sahastralinga is a pilgrimage place, located around 14 km from the Sirsi Taluk in the district of Uttara Kannada of Karnataka state in India. It is in the river Shalmala and is famous for being the location where around a thousand lingas are carved on rocks in the river and on its banks.Sahastralingeshwara temple located near sirsi and is situated on the banks of the river shalmala, where a thousand lingas are found. The story goes like: After Kurukshetra war, Krishna suggests Pandavas to get "Pushpa Mruga" to hold Rajasooryadwara Yaga. Bheema dashed to "Mahendragiri" to fetch it. On the way he meets Hanuman taking rest, which is stretched on his way. Bheema finds it difficult to cross the tail of Hanuman and requests to remove the tail. Hanuman asks Bheema to lift tail but he struggles and fails.Later both realised that both are divine powers. Hanuman learns the purpose of Bheem's journey and offers him hair from his tail for the protection. Bheem, after reaching Mahendragiri meets pushpamruga and it agrees on a condition that it would follow him only a "manovega"-speed at which mind moves. Bheem agrees trusting the tail hair. While leading the animal, whenever Bheem finds he cannot keep the pace with the animal, he drops a hair. Strangely a "Shivalinga" appears just on the spot and Pushpamruga proceeds only after worshipping the linga. This gives Bheem sufficient time to adjust his speed. When they reach the place called "Uppinangady", Bheem finds difficult and drops remaining one thousand tail hair. A thousand lingas appear and by the time animal completes worship, Bheem safely reaches Yagamantap. Thus it is believed that a thousand Lingas are found in the temple vicinity. One out of those Lingas found in the middle of the river sand becomes visible in the month of February.
The lingas in Uppinangady are under the river and are naturally formed, not carved. The Shiva Lingas were built under the patronage of Sadashivarayavarma, king of the Sirsi kingdom (1678-1718). It is also possible to see many Nandi (vehicle of lord Shiva) which are carved in front of the Shivalingas.[1]Linga is a symbol of worship of the Hindu God, Shiva. On the auspicious day of Mahashivaratri thousands of pilgrims visit Sahastralinga to offer their prayers to Shiva

Sahasralinga is situated 15 kms from Sirsi on the Sirsi Yellapur road.
This tranquil place is situated amid Shalmala River valley. This site is a a Hindu religious place with hundreds of "Shivalingas" carved out of rocks in the middle of river Shalmala. Thousands 9f people offer their Pooja here during Shivarathri. The place is thankfully cleanly maintained.
Ample parking place with a fee of Rs 30/- available close to the river bank.
A few steps takes you to the river. Steps are somewhat small and please watch your steps. Also, beware of monkeys.
Water appears to be calm but exercise due caution when venturing into the water at unknown places.
There is a small canteen selling tea and snacks. Just next to the canteen a small road leads you to a hanging bridge, which adds to the charm of place.
30 minutes to one hour is the recommended time in this place.

I visited banavasi for this very temple alone. Was fascinated by the history of banavasi, and this temple is a key component of that history. As old temples go, this temple is relatively small. The main road leading towards the temple is huge and makes it easy to visualise the surroundings when it was built in the 9th century. The inside of the temple has retained that 1000 year feel and grand you. The Shiva Linga is unique, and the stone slab on which the idol is placed caught my fascination... Is extremely modern-artly. The other idols are quite old worldly as well. Very beautiful carvings on all the walls. It is an absolute must do for temple and old world structure lovers. Go visit it.

Always wanted to visit our Kannadiga's known first dynasty capital place from long time and blessed to witness more than 1800 years old temple.
It was first established by early kadamba rules and later kadamba , chalukya and most recently Vijayanagr-Sode family kings have developmed this temple.
Even after 18-19 centuries from its first construction temple still stands good and carvings, pullers are so fascinating to watch.
Lord Mahadev is medication guru and this temple this one of the made suited for very uniue Madhukeshwara (Honey colored lingha)
Temle premises makes an absolute bliss 😍👌
Note:
Temple is little inside small town Banavasi so doesn't expect high values restaurants . But there are small shops to quench hunger thirst.

If I could give one feedback that would be not to use animals for the sake of activities and entertainment. Bullock cart and camel rides are used by villagers since they don't have alternatives, using them here would not be fair in my opinion.

In the era of nuclear families, the themes like Agadi Thota come in handy to spend time with entire family including siblings, cousins, etc. There is no fun of you go with your spouse and kids. You have to visit these types of theme parks in group and will definitely enjoy the company.
You will get a complete treat of authentic north karnataka cuisine and culture. You will have enough of breakfast, beverages, lunch and snacks.
Games for kids, variety of rides, artificial rain, magic show, pottery making and many more activities.
Overall a good place to spend a day with your close ones.

I would like to call this "Nature retreat camp".
A private farm very well maintained with descent options for refreshment which includes authentic, classic style or you may call it ethnic style recreational activities.
For 650 rs you'll be served best in the class North Karnataka food (lunch), dosa for breakfast, and some snacks in the evening. All these are unlimited.
Horse riding, horse chariot, boating, circus, puppet show etc are some of the activities to name.
If you want to go for 1 day outing especially for the people looking for orthodox style retreats then this is the place.

The experience was quite nice. It's a good getaway for those living in South Karnataka, but those in North Karnataka might feel this to be a very mediocre thing. The overall ambience, atmosphere and rural setting was amazing, but the food was very forgettable. During Summers, eating should be a pleasant affair, but it turned out to be tiring. Also, the rain dance arena could have been a little more closer and better with areas dedicated for kids, women and men separately. The music for the rain dance was also not very kid-friendly. Music played at such loud volume could cause some serious damage to little kids who just want to enjoy a little dance in the rain-like atmosphere. Rest, there's a lot of scope to improve the environment.

Agadi Thota was a novel experience for us. The place served tasty North Karnatakan food and had various activities to keep you engaged throughout the day. My daughter loved interacting with the animals and seeing things like goli soda, barbecued sweet potato, bullock carts, hand-juiced sugarcane, napping chairs, etc. which one doesn't see much of, nowadays. Would advise anyone to reach as early as possible to enjoy maximum.

Unkal Lake is a popular tourist spot located on the outskirts of Hubli, known for its large size spanning across 200 acres and scenic beauty. The lake boasts of a waterfront park where visitors can enjoy boating and watch sunsets with family and kids. Additionally, it features Swami Vivekananda's statue situated in the middle of the lake.
At a distance of 6 km from Hubli Junction Railway Station, Unkal Lake is a stunning lake situated at the Unkal locality of Hubli. It is one of the must include places in Hubli Tour Packages.
Unkal Lake is a beautiful picnic spot and a major source of drinking water for the twin cities of Hubli & Dharwad. About 110 years old, the lake covers an area of nearly 200 acres. This site is renowned as the 'Karma Bhoomi' of Shri Siddappajja, who was born in 1859. He eloped from his home at the age of 14 to find a Guru and resided in Unkal Mailarlings Temple. Shri Siddappajja died in 1921 and since then a 'Jatre' is organized at this site.
This picturesque water body is surrounded by a lush garden that mesmerizes travelers coming here in search of peace and serenity. This is among the most popular places to visit in Hubli. Most people visit this lake during evening times as it offers an enchanting sunset view. Another attraction of this lake is the statue of Swami Vivekananda that has been placed in the middle of the lake. This is a famous family picnic spot where the locals are found strolling in the park and enjoy boating in the serene waters of the lake.

Great place for walkers and jogger’s . We could only make 1/4th round of the entire lake . According to the security of the lake the entire periphery of the lake is about 6.5 kms . The lake closes at 07:00 pm . If you are planning to cover the entire round then have ample time before you take the full circle.
The lake is just next to Hotel naveen . The pavement have been well laid . There are lights out along the track so that the move may be smooth . There is a sun set view point at the enterance at a heightened location . There is an eatery/restaurant at the entrance where you can grab snack before you set out for walking . Entrance fee is 10/- and parking fee is also 10/- . If you are in Hubballi and not sure where to go in the evening then this is a good place to explore .

I am a resident of Jaipur and have been visiting lake for long walks ever since childhood. I have seen people from all walks of life come to lake for morning and evening walks. I like to walk the talk here with friends and family. The environment of the lake is very conducive for deep introspection. Watching the sunrise or sunset gives me an exhilarating experience and makes me feel one with God and Nature. Of late you can see the water shimmering like silver if you go around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and makes the whole area look so calm and serene and beautiful. At the other end of the lake there is now a Buddha Park with a very beautiful calm and serene statue of Lord Buddha in sitting pose. At the entrance you will find the lake club, restaurant, lots of vendors selling eatables, and a big play zone for kids where you can enjoy with kids. Also, there are ducks in the lake which you can feed or go for a boat ride. There are plenty of things to do here. It has become an activity centre for people. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Nrupatunga Betta is a scenic hill in Hubli that offers breathtaking views of the city. It is a popular tourist spot with a well-developed park for children and a casual restaurant serving delicious local food. The hill provides an ideal location for morning and evening walks, offering stunning sunset views. Although the view from the peak is not very clear, it's still worth visiting as it's one of the most favorite places in Hubli.
🌄 Nrupatunga Betta - Summit Serenity and Nature's Embrace! 🌿🌅
Embarking on the journey up Nrupatunga Betta is like ascending into the sky, a communion with nature's heartbeat. The panoramic views unfold like a masterpiece, each step a breath-stealing revelation. Reaching the summit is euphoric, a dance with the wind and a front-row seat to the sky's changing canvas. 🎨
Embraced by lush greenery, the hill offers a tranquil escape from the bustling world below. It's a sanctuary where the breeze whispers and leaves rustle, creating a symphony of serenity. Sunrise or sunset, the spectacle from Nrupatunga Betta is a dazzling symphony of colors, an awe-inspiring display of nature's wonders. 🌅🍃
Now, brace yourself for the adventure. The trek is a thrilling dance with the terrain, rewarding with breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment. However, let's talk about the 6 pm closing time and the rock-strewn approach road—a challenge like no other. This road isn't just rocky; it's a rollercoaster of bumps and jolts, demanding nerves of steel. It's not for the faint-hearted, but those who brave it will find the beauty atop well worth the rough ride. 🏞️💪🚧
Despite the bone-rattling road conditions, Nrupatunga Betta is an ideal spot to chill, especially during sunset. The mesmerizing hues and serene ambiance create the perfect setting for unwinding. It's not just a hill; it's a wild ride into nature's embrace, conquering both the challenges and the breathtaking views. 🌄🌇

It's a nice place. But somehow huballi has failed to maintain it. They take an entrance fee of Rs.20. So they should be maintaining this place well. Cleanliness is fine. But aesthetically the place has to be made more attractive. I hope they would someday improve this. It's filled with couples everywhere on almost every single day. Hence all those who are single, just walk and look straight 😜 you will not feel left out.

Agastya Lake, located in Badami, is a significant pilgrimage site with a rich history dating back to the 5th century. Considered sacred for its healing waters, the lake is surrounded by notable landmarks such as the Bhootnath temples and the cave temples. The Bhootnath temple on Agastya lake is situated near the Badami cave temples ( opposite ) . Magnificent sight and one can spend long hours during late evening / sunset hours for superb pictures . The stone temples get their own multitude of hues in the golden hour . Absolutely enjoyed the day experience
The only grouse is that google maps points you to take a very very narrow road where cars can barely enter, through slum areas where people / animals still live - this infrastructure needs to be improved / alternative road to be developed OR vehicles should be banned with maybe carts / auto allowed only .
Avinash Venkataraman — Google review
The Agastya Lake is a holy lake bounded to the south by the Badami Cave Temples and to the north by the Badami Fort. Legend has it that the lake is water brought by Garuda from the water pleasure tank of God in Vaikunta, the celestial abode of Vishnu.
From afar, the late looks very picturesque. Up close, you can see the locals using it as a place to wash their clothes. The water does not look clean, though that doesn’t seem to stop the locals from taking a swim. Located on the eastern shores of the lake is the Bhootnath Temple.
The hygiene notwithstanding, Agastya Lake and the area around it is very picturesque and that along is worth visiting for.

Near Badami caves. Nice bird's eye view from the caves. Gets dried in summer but full in monsoon. Beautiful temples all around. Bhootnath temple is quite good with smaller ones and large stones with carvings. There is a small temple on a large stone with no visible way to reach there.
From Badami caves, across the lake, there is a one of its kind Archaeological museum with Govt staff, better to carry change if you want to visit it. On both sides of museum, nice places to visit with moderate climbing. Right side there are old scribes and left to museum, mountain with beautiful temples and nice view of Badami.
Enough parking space if you can figure out how to reach there! Hardly any drink, snack or water available nearby so carry yourself and try to visit early morning or late evening.

We got a bird’s eye view of the Agastya Lake when we climbed the hill where the cave temples are located. The waters looked very calm and serene in the early morning light when we visited the caves.
The lake is next to the Bhutnatha Temple and we got another mesmerising view of the lake from the banks. There were steps leading down to the lake, like a bathing ghat. We sat on the steps for a while as the sun was setting, and enjoyed another aspect of its beauty.
The lake water is considered to be holy and have some healing powers. But we found the water to be murky and greenish in colour, so we did not risk taking a dip in it. The approach to the lake is through some narrow roads of Badami town.
The views of the surrounding hills and the Bhutnatha temples and the caves on the opposite cliff against the setting sun make for a magical experience. Not many people visit this place, so it is very calm and quiet. It is very soothing to sit by the lake and meditate for a while.

Banashankari Devi Temple (or Banashankari temple) is a Hindu shrine located at Cholachagudda near Badami, in Bagalkot district, Karnataka, India. The temple is popularly called 'Shakambhari' 'Banashankari or Vanashankari' since it is located in the Tilakaaranya forest. The temple deity is also called the Shakambhari (Kannada: ಶಾಕoಭರಿ), an incarnation of the goddess Parvati.
The temple attracts devotees from Karnataka as well as the neighbouring state of Maharashtra. The original temple was built by the 7th century Badami Chalukya kings, who worshipped goddess Banashankari as their tutelary deity. The temple celebrates its annual festival called Banashankari jatre, in the months of January or February. The festival comprises cultural programmes, boat festival as well as a Rath yatra, when the temple goddess is paraded around the city in a chariot. Banshakhari is a form of Maa Shakambhari Devi whose real, main and ancient temple is located in Saharanpur District in Uttar Pradesh. It is also known as Shaktipeeth Shakambhari Devi. There are statues of Bhima, Bhramari, Shatakshi and Ganesha along with mother.

Sree Banashankari Temple is located near Badami in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. It is a Beautiful temple and we had our Darshan of Shree Banashankari Devi during the month long temple festival in Feb 2024.
It is very ancient temple (7th Century AD temple, built by Chalukya kingdom). The large temple tank is dry now and the surroundings are not so clean now. The upkeeping and maintenance of the temple is not up to the standard.
Hope the Hindu organization will take up the challenge to clean-up the surroundings and redevelop the area in consultation with the local authorities.
But seeing the idol in the Sanctum Sanctorium is mesmerising and will give you an electrifying positice energy.

This is such a beautiful architecture . Big temple complex and the place has lot of history. They have 3 headed nandi which was destroyed so ASI has placed 3 different Nandi to denote 3 times Pooja of Lord Shiva. You can do darshan very easily and temple complex has a elephant which goes by the name Lakshmi. She will bless you once you give some offerings. The inverted shadow of the gopuram is beautiful.

Very good feeling to visit this temple in the morning, low crowd and great experience. Lots of monkeys though around and it’s good if you carry some bag if you want to feed banana to the elephant as monkeys won’t let you carry it till there. Place for shoes is properly placed and parking is well designed. Also note to buy the ticket at entrance if you want to go inside and near to the statues.

Hampi is a jewel of Karnataka, rich in history and serenity. The map of Hampi was designed by various rulers from the Vijayanagar empire. Almost every step leads to a temple, each with a unique architectural design, significance, and story to tell. Known to be a hippie’s paradise, Hampi’s only dry point is its climate.

What a surreal and do one experience visiting this iconic temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
I visited Hampi for 2 nights during my recent solo motorcycle ride to Karnataka and this was one of the most unforgettable highlights of the ride.
I visited this temple very early morning at 6 am while it was still dark and the temple looked absolutely gorgeous shining and shimmering.
I had an absolutely fantastic Darshan of the Garbha Griha and was also fortunate to watch the Mandir Elephant going back to her shed.
I spent almost an hour inside the temple admiring the beautiful architecture of this temple.
Words aren't enough to describe my experience I had here but I still tried.
This just can't be missed.

During our visit, we went to Virupaksha near sunset, and the experience was magical. The place was bathed in golden light, creating a beautiful ambiance. Make sure not to miss Lakshmi, the elephant, inside the Virupaksha temple. She graciously accepts offerings and blesses you, adding a spiritual touch to your visit.
Be aware that you might encounter monkeys, and they can be quite playful, sometimes attempting to snatch your offerings.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Pampadevi, this is the only temple here that is still used for worship. Parts of the temple pre-date the Vijayanagara empire. The temple, with its nine storied gopuram, towers above the other structures at Hampi. The ceiling of the Ranga Mantapa is beautifully painted with scenes from the epics and Puranas.

There's 11 Elephant's stables. All of them are interconnected with each other. There is entry fee of Rs.40 per Indian adult. Inside this complex there are plenty of historical monuments.
The whole building looks symmetric with respect to this central hall. The tower of the central hall resembles (though mostly destroyed) more like that of temples. However the five pairs of domes on either side are of Islamic in style. They are better preserved and of alternating patterns. Metal hooks (used to tie the elephants) on the inside roof can be seen. At the rear of each hall are small manhole type openings for the mahouts to enter the elephant compartments. It's one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site
A big Lawn Area to sit and relax, fresh air it was awesome experience.. Try to visit in the morning or evening.

One among the few least destroyed structures in Hampi, Elephant Stable is a major tourist attraction. This long building with a row of domed chambers was used to ‘park’ the royal elephants. There are 11 domed tall chambers; some of them are inter- connected. The center one is specially decorated and big. Probably the musicians and the associated band troupes had been using this during ceremonies involving elephant processions.

They have parking available and buggy service available too, buggy is 20rs per head for two way and it will take you near to the main temple. It is fair way for the price.
Entrance ticket is 40rs which can be used for lotus mahal as well. We have purchased our ticked at lotus mahal which have been used for entrance here.
Main attraction was the stone chariot & musical pillars.
The ruins are beautiful architectures , few spots definitely needs restoration in order to save our ancient history.

Beautiful monument and temple. Booking tickets online will save you money and time. Try to make it to the temple early in the morning especially during summer months, not a lot of shade and it gets very hot from noon till 5 pm. There is a 1 km walk from parking, or a shuttle. The shuttle is not sufficient for the crowd, so might end up waiting up to an hour depending on the crowd, one shuttle transports 9 people and they have 3 shuttles running. Once you reach the actual temple a nominal fee of Rs 40 is charged per head.
It is worth taking a guide if you are really interested about the glorious history of the place. You find certified guides around the temple. They charge around 500rs to show the temple around. But knowing the history really adds value to our visit, which otherwise would end up just as a selfie destination.

You need to understand that touring hampi is not a days job. It will take 3 days to see all the spectacular sites. It hurts to see so much destruction done by humans in the past. Imagine these over 650 yrs old and still standing. The natural damage is way less than damages done by humans.
Every where you go there will be a cluster of things to see and you can see them one by one.
All maybe listed as different places in maps but you have to understand that they are different architectural marvels but located within the vicinity of a major grand structure.
It’s always good to explore self rather than blindly believing the reviews posted by amateur like us.
Visit HAMPI once in your lifetime for sure.

Ballari Fort
Sights & Landmarks
Fortress
Hilltop remains of a stone military fortress, founded in the 16th century and renovated in the 18th.
First we felt it waste of time and money but after reached top approx 400 steps the view was amazing and beautiful… at that movement no one has there… the movement was captured… there best time to visit this place is morning and expect summer…. More history was hidden in this place…. There is no architecture in this place but should learn how to construct…this is one of the best monument… should visit and save it…. Entry fee Rs25 and just 2km from Ballary station….easy transportation….

A great marvel to visit. I wish people would not litter and spoil the beauty of the place. You need to climb allot so be prepared for that

A must visit place if you cross or go to Ballari. Forts are always a sign of culture and ancient living. Will make the place better if they have written boards placed everywhere describing the details of why when & purpose for building it, importance of the fort and what took place there. Will help and be easy for everyone to know the history of that place.

Historical place Devi Nagar Karnataka Bellary Fort ("Bellary Kote") was built on top of a hill called the "Ballari Gudda" or the Fort Hill. It is situated in the historic city of Bellary, in the Bellary District in Karnataka state, India. It was built in two parts namely, the Upper Fort and the Lower Fort. The Upper Fort was built by Hanumappa Nayaka, a feudatory of Vijayanagar Empir but the Lower Fort was built by Hyder Ali in later part of the 18th century.

The place has only less visitor and feels haunted. A must visit as we can understand the statergy made by the king's who ruled here. The whole city can be viewed from over here. There is a lower fort also which is non functional. Early mornings and evenings are the best time to visit the place.
Ns Gamer — Google review
It's good in construction. But as per tourism point of view nothing in that top port. Not even any evidence of war instruments used. After reaching that much height only you can see the entire city.

This is our favourite fort for multiple reasons and one of that is it empty during weekday and less crowded on weekends. Other reason is that it has amazing rocks here to climb on and extremely picturesque. The only thing that Is upsetting is the litter. You find plastic bottles and chips packets and chappals thrown here and there and it's too sad. Next time we go, we will take our friends and try to clean it up a little coz it's a favourite spot.

Very historical place, natural stone formations, can be maintained better.
Lights are totally vandalized & only light boxes are there.

Beautiful fort but not maintained great by the government. The view from top is beautiful and the path is quite tiring for people who don't exercise but not too much. Must visit while in and around Ballari.

Bellary Fort, a historic marvel nestled in Karnataka, boasts a rich tapestry of tales dating back to the 16th century. Originally built by the Vijayanagara Empire, it witnessed successive rulers, including Hyder Ali and the British. The fort's strategic location atop Ballari Gudda hill offers panoramic views of the city below. Though weathered by time, its towering walls and bastions stand as enduring testaments to its storied past, inviting visitors to explore centuries of history.
PRALAY — Google review
Bellary Fort is a historical site with more than 3000 years of history. It was constructed at the time of Vijayanagar Empire by Hanumappa Nayaka. The fort was captured by Hyder Ali back in 1769 and was then remodelled by a French engineer. The fort is situated at the Ballari Gudda hilltop.
One of the major reasons for its attraction is the fort being built on a monolithic rock. The fort is divided into Upper and Lower fort. It is a polygonal fort with only one entrance. There is a citadel of 1976 ft. and includes structures like pools, cisterns, temple and cells. The tunnel is believed to have link to the cities of Sriragapatna and Mysore. The top can be reached with a single rocky way.

Good view of the city from the fort which is on a hilltop. Built in 16 th century this fort with 5.6 kms long walls offers a good hiking trail in Ballari , entry fees 25₹, no guides available and no information about various sites in this fort available except for a board showing the history of the fort

Sri Raghavendra Swami Vaari Matham is a sprawling temple complex situated along the riverside, dedicated to a Hindu saint. The temple boasts of magnificent stone carvings and hosts daily rituals. Visitors can contribute to Annadanam and buy prasadam as well. The temple provides ample space for devotees, with many lodges available in the vicinity for accommodation.

The temple is good, but management is worst. People will be fighting for everything to move in line for dharshana, prasadham, and for food, management will never control all these problems even people complain to the authority to solve. Totally it's Very poor management.

A place from where you think of never returning to your home. A place where you can come again and again but still will feel that vibe and connection with god. On the clean bank of Tungbhadra river this temple is must visit in south india. One of the best ever. And also the great historical place.
Chirashri C S — Google review
I visited the temple today 15.5.2022 with my sisters. Had a peaceful darshan though there was rush. We contributed to Annadanam. Finally we came to buy prasadam. Prasadam per pocket is Rs 25/-. I gave 50 and the lady sitting in the counter asked me rudely to get change or make way for others. We come from far of places to see Raghavendra God. But I was upset as she shouted at the top of her voice. Please post people who help and understand the devotees. My other experience in the temple was very good.

Sacred temple. Well maintained. Would love to visit anytime to seek the Guru's blessings. Temple will be crowded on Thursday, Saturday, Sundays and on long weekends as well. These days hotels charge very high amounts which is not worth spending. So better book Mutt accommodation in advance and plan accordingly

We visited both day as well as the night time and it was really soothing to visit this temple. The vibe and music and people playing bhajans everything calms you down. The architecture around th temple is beautiful depicting many stories and incidents in Sanatani culture. One must visit this place had a really good experience.

Temple is built very good half day sufficient for a trip if planned correctly. The main thing is about cleanliness in the temple and the premises could definitely have been better. Looks messy not clean in main areas.

Just a divine feeling and experience, I visited this mutt for the 1st time in my life. I felt welcomed with both arms and this comes with miracles one after the other. Overall this was the best experience of my life and thanks to my mother's friend who planned this temple tour. Totally blessed.

Temple is having vast space and its good. There are lot of lodges available near the temple to stay. But some temple staff are little rude while responding to people

This place is loaded with posative vibes. I had a very lucky and quick visit to this temple site. Blessed to have visited and got the darshan of this place. Very well maintained place. Has a large courtyard and a majestic walkway to the temple. The river flowing behind the temple adds to the beauty.
The museum next to the temple is very interesting. It gives you an insight into our religions well as the vast cosmic universe . The various Lords / God and Goddess explained. Children should be exposed to this. Found meaning in why we say a prayer prior to meal, how to, and like. The body as a whole and its system too explained from religion point of view.
Lot of visitors. Has multiple options to stay and eat.
Must visit and get blessed once in a lifetime .

Magnificent at night with lighting..don’t miss in the evenings.
Temple is just adjacent to banks of Tungabadra river. A small walk takes to the ghat and shopping area.
Dress code for men #No Shirt/tshirt allowed beyond the main chamber. No restrictions on type of dress until the main chamber.

Absolutely divine feeling, avoid visiting during weekends n public holidays. Huge crowd is expected during those days. If SRS Mutt rooms are filled then you will end up paying huge amount for private rooms. Even 1* rooms are charged similar to 5* hotels. Also most of them are 12hrs checkout.
Naveen Rg — Google review
Very good place.. But heavy rush during holidays and Thursday.. Parking is not planned properly... All the hotels will be changing huge amount and you have no other choice.
Total collapse during week end... You need to plan your trip only in week days...

Well maintained and organized. The place is very big and peaceful. Overall a good experience and divine feeling. Just that the Tungabatra river is not maintained properly with bad smell and it requires to be cleaned.

He is actually Guru of Madhwa community but his blessings reach beyond leaps and bounds to protect his devotees. A Seva for one day will keep you pious for the rest of the year. Vibes we get are extraordinary.
Large riverside temple complex with stone carvings & daily rituals, dedicated to a Hindu saint.
Very divine and very powerful devotional place for Hindus. You will feel very positive and energetic in the atmosphere. The wishes will be fulfilled once you wish here. Rooms are very near to the temple. The only thing is that the tungabhadra river cleanliness is not proper. Lots of plastic waste is found, no proper maintenance.

Sacred temple. I had booked accommodation from the temple website and also the seva. Good time to sit in temple is evening. Behind temple is the river where a dip should calm down. You also have a camel ride available near to temple. Private hotels charge randomly based on agents/auto driver people so better to book online through temple site.

Just awesome place to visit. Very good service in terms of darshan, food arrangements for devotees, prasadam distribution.
The road network needs to be improved a lot along the Bellary - Raichur stretch leading to Mantralayam.
Must visit for Sri Raghavendra Swami devotees.

This place can’t be explained but can only be felt and experienced. A divinely place one must visit at least once . This place has been improved a lot compared to years ago! People and the office staffs in the mutt are kind enough to guide the devotees!
The system where people can join their hands to volunteer and serve Parimala Prasada is something unique and the best part! Never availed room service as it was a day visit so not sure about that, but quite lot of places seems to be available nearby. There are other places nearby to visit for one day short trip

I suggest people to visit this place during night times because the cool weather and the lighting adds up more beauty to this temple. The river flow is just normal now. Devotees take bath in this river and go for Darshanam. No entry fee is required here. The ambiance is great. It’s one of the best places for devotees.

Peaceful and good place to worship and relax. They have annadanam facility also. I don't know whether any restaurants are available nearby. On the whole, a place worth visiting.

The Brindavana of Raghavendra Swamy: A Must-See for Any Visitor to Andhra Pradesh
The Mantralaya Temple is a resplendent and tranquil temple dedicated to the saint Raghavendra Swamy. The temple is situated in the town of Mantralayam in Andhra Pradesh and is a popular pilgrimage destination for Hindus from all over the world.
The temple complex sprawls over a very large area and encompasses a number of shrines, halls, and gateways. The most arresting feature of the temple is the Brindavana, or samadhi, of Raghavendra Swamy. The Brindavana is a vast, white marble structure that is encircled by a garden.
The ambiance at the temple is tranquil and spiritual, and it is a fantastic place to experience the rich culture of Andhra Pradesh. I would certainly recommend the Mantralaya Temple to anyone visiting the region.

Very lovely location along the Tungabadra River's bank. It borders Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The rainy season is the ideal time to go. It will take ten to fifteen minutes for Darshana. well-run temple. A large gathering. There is a traffic jam and auto drivers are rushing to get their passengers in. They obstruct traffic and prevent pilgrims from easily accessing our location.

Beautiful Divine place. Lodging available around the temple budget to high level. Restaurants also available.
Temple is crowded during weekend and special occasions.

We wanted room on 5th April 24, it’s a off-season, many rooms were empty but we were told that it’s completely filled.
We agreed for theirs rules and abided accordingly.
But when we visited the building STM
Corridor wasn’t clean
Rooms were also dirty, it was left as is which was used by other pilgrims
This should be taken care because we travel from far, we pay for rooms and it’s not offered at a free cost.
I have also attached photos for proof

I am talking about the floor ...it's too slippery especially with older people who must be more careful ..I don't know why they are using granite stones / any other which looks shiny..
But when it comes to safety ...not bothered 😕
Any way elders, heavy weight people , poor slippers/ Sandals/ shoes .
Especially when there is a water on floor / raining time / or not visibility..

We took AC suits which were on the 3rd floor and there was a frequent power cut, no proper UPS service we use to climb 3 floors most of the time.
I suggest the management should have an alternate power source in case of a power cut.
Overall the rooms were so clean and well maintained.

Had been visiting since 20 years and I used to love its simplicity but now it's too fancy and as I grow up, all I see is few pujaris arrogance and ego. Praying to God and then be extremely rude to others, not to forget the dogmatic rules.

The place is located in the prime location near to the temple but the booking procedure and the staff are not cooperative and not done with ease.
Very rude and unfriendly behaviour which is very irritating.
And also the place is not maintained well even though it is newly built the cleanliness is not maintained. The bathrooms are not cleaned properly.
They charge as much as the private places but definitely not worth the cost.
Be prepared for the unruly people and unclean rooms.
Located remotely from city hustle this temple is the only temple in the world there Padmanabha Swamy is in standing position. Must visit if you are in vikarabad area. Prasadam was good. Ladoo and puliharaha is 10rs each. Temple has very long back history. Very serene and peaceful place. We visited this on our way back to home from our cottage stay in Jungle Camp.
