Enormous range of quality and affordable wines to taste and buy. Could not find a dud among them. Very informative, especially if you are lucky enough to meet Andrew himself.

What a marvellous winery with great wines. Thank you for a lovely afternoon of tasting and the 4 dozen bottles of wine we are taking home
Clive Coogan — Google review
Absolutely love Andrew Peace Wines the staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable, we never miss the opportunity to go in to the cellar door when in northern Victoria. We appreciate the Covid safe standards of the staff and winery and understand why they keep the standards so high. We have just returned to S.A after a family funeral and are currently in home quarantine, thanks to Andrew Peace Wines we have just enjoyed a relaxing cheese platter with a Tall Poppy Merlot. Many thanks to Pam for her assistance and patience while we put our selections together.

I visited this amazing family-owned (3 generations if I’m not mistaken) vineyard many, many years ago when I was staying in rented accommodation in Sydney and took a walkabout to the Murray River region in Victoria. I’ll never forget the warm reception I received, and today, Sunday 30 July 2023, two weeks before my 77th birthday, I relived the occasion by finding a bottle of Andrew Peace Shiraz, this winery’s signature wine, in a Co-op shop in the small town of Nelson in Caerphilly County in Wales, U.K. My only regret is that I should have bought two bottles, and this being the Welsh Valleys, the weather is true to form: it’s pouring cats and dogs, and it’s a bit of a hike to the shop. Plus the wind’ll turn my brolly inside out before I can say “South Australia.” Go to this winery if you get a chance. It’s an amazing operation in a stunning location on the Murray River, and you’ll come away feeling really good about life, and saying over and over again, “No worries, mate!” I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

Dropped in Saturday afternoon and the lovely lady who meet us in the tasting cellar had excellent knowledge of the wines we were tasting. Spent sometime here as there is plenty to taste and plenty to talk about. We purchased some lovely wines and we will be returning before we leave to go home.

He uses his stuff out of the vats to water bays and he has heaps of seeds etc that he lets smoulder.
Emma Faulkner — Google review
Been buying wine from here for a long time. Very friendly and helpful staff. They used to have some amazing wine. However, the wine quality has dropped and so seemed to have the wine knowledge of staff.
There are two types of wine drinkers. 1. that likes to relax with a glass of something comforting, relaxing and prestigious
2. That drink wine to get drunk.
This winery seem to now focus on the later crowd. Sad to see that

Fantastic experience and top notch guide service from German. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
He kept us in the loop throughout the process as our tour was almost cancelled due to bad weather. We ended up going and was treated to the most beautiful view of Walls of China (German likes to call it his office :p).
We are very happy with the whole experience and would highly recommend Outback Geo Adventures for anyone who would like to visit Mungo National Park, particularly the Walls of China.

Herman was a wonderful tour guide who went out of his way to ensure we has a memorable day out in the Mungo National.Park. Well worth the trip.
Michael Di Vincenzo — Google review
Fabulous day out with German (pronounced Herman). He made a long drive short with regular stops to peel back the layers of the outback and show us the diversity in plant and animal life in Mungo National Park. Walking on the dunes was a special experience under the massive skies and continually changing cloud formations. Awesome! And lunch was good too.
Richard Booth — Google review
Lucky enough to experience Mungo National Park with German, his knowledge of Mungo and local Flora and Fauna is outstanding.
German is always ready to stop for us to take that not to be missed Photo opportunity and to stop at an Outback Pub on the way Home was a view into the past.
Prickle Downs — Google review
German is a great tour guide with a wealth of knowledge that he shares with the participants of his tours. German took my husband and myself to Mungo and it was fascinating how much history German imparts on this tour. The site is so special to tour and to undertake a tour with a guide who is so passionate about the site is quite an experience.
Couldn’t rate this place more highly - delicious cafe (steak sandwich was outstanding), very clean restrooms, and a welcoming info centre well stocked with tourism brochures - don’t drive past!

Shear outback is a must stop while visiting hay.
The history, the views, the live sheep shearing demonstration, the Beautiful couple that runs this place. Everything about this place is amazing.

Absolutely love it, was so interesting to see how hard a shearer has to work to earn a decent day's pay, ever the cook has it though. Also a must see is the shearer ine the old woodshed shear a sheep.

A phenomenal place dedicated to sharing the untold stories of Australian shearers. The facility includes a range of items displaying the intriguing life of a shearer, cook and variety of other workers at a sheep shearing shed

What a great place this is. The Shearer, Jack, was very informative and entertaining. He told us some of his experiences as a shearer over the years and how the industry has changed. Excellent.
The museum has a number of exhibits which are really interesting. The cafe had the best carrot cake made by Mandy and Ricky and the Receptionist were so welcoming. Great experience
Fantastic, at $5 a head to go in and visit the museum on a self-guided tour, you can enjoy the history of the prisoner of war camps of Hay at your own pace. The train station and platform is a gorgeous architectural building and the tour will expand your knowledge on the POW process during WW2 and timeline of Hay. In the background you can see the show grounds which also played the part of the camps where POWS were housed . Its beautifully set up and the Dunera museum is just one of the many historic sites you can visit in Hay. It may be a small town and looks like a blink and miss it town, but this little town has a lot of hidden gems in it. visit the information centre and go on a journey into the past and present of Hay.
The museum is accessible by wheelchair and wheelie walkers as there is a ramp onto the train carts.
I don't recall seeing toilets on the premises.
Sara “HandleyFamily Adventures” Handley — Google review
Well displayed bit of history about the internment camp/s in Hay during WW2! A must see if coming to Hay. You'll need a good hour or more to read the stories and to see the history of what went on in these camps!!
The train carriages are wheelchair accessible, the inside of the carriages are a bit tight but we managed to get my wife's wheelchair around!
Matt Thompson (Aussie Athiest) — Google review
Please pay your entry fees in the donation box of the second carriage. No one to physically collect it from you. Carry loose change or notes.

Very interesting and great display. $5 donation.

Very light on in information. Why not play on infinite loop the Dunera Boys movie? Get info from the national archive and arrange in the exhibition. What did the Dunera Boys reflections What's Japanese & Italian POWs got anything to do with the Dunera Boys.
Jon Hornstein — Google review
Very interesting about interment camps in museum
Diane Swain — Google review
Very historical place. Must visit place in hay.
You should carry some cash, entry fee you have to deposit in donation box which is located in second train box. This place all about how they bring prisoner from Europe and leave them in hay area for farming and for other work.
sanjay — Google review
Not worth the 5 bucks . Nothing to see . The building is a radio station now and the museum is in two train carriages out the back . Nothing to see very disappointing. Wouldn’t waste my time . Go to the Goal worth 4 bucks for sure .

The museum is actually behind the Historic Railway Station in a couple of Railway carriages. Lots of reading.
one of the best lifetime experience! I went there today with my family and it just bring joy to my eyes! It was so beautiful and truely amazing to learn and see most beautiful kinds of animals! Learning to facts too. This is probably the best wildlife parks / zoo's I've been too. Thanks Altina Wildlife Park 🦓🦒🦁🐅

I returned for another fabulous visit to Altina today. The young Emily guided our tour. She was amazingly knowledgeable and very informative. We also did a behind the scenes tour which was an exceptional experience for our visiting family.

Was pouring rain and we still had a great day. Very close access to wild animals.
Great preservation of endangered species programs.
I paid extra for the meerkat experience which was absolutely wonderful. My ranger/guide was such a lovely person. Lots of great knowledge and took the video of me.
Deborah Goodwin (Silasozzie) — Google review
Altina is a hidden treasure on the Sturt Highway and a conservation haven for so many species in the heart of the Riverina. The animal encounters are delightful with utmost care taken that the animals are comfortable with visitors. Every visit has new experiences and we go back at least yearly.
Hannah Blackburn — Google review
Altina Wildlife Park is definitely worth a visit! This is without a doubt the closest and most personal zoo tour I think you'd be able to get! For about $140 for two adults and two children we had a horse drawn tour of the park. We arrived at 8.45am for the 9am tour and spent half an hour in the park's "cuddly zoo" where we saw monkeys, meercats, wallabies, red pandas etc before our cart departed. You also get to walk through their taxidermy museum which is wonderful. Jordan was our guide and Lawson our trusty steed. The horse tour walks through the park with the guide discussing the animals and another keeper offers the animals a snack if they come over and see the visitors. They have trained the animals to let them check them over when they do this which is very impressive and makes the tour even more personal! They have lions, hyenas, zebra, African wild dogs, rhinos which unfortunately weren't out, camels, caybara, heaps of deer, bison and much more. The horse cart is more expensive than the motorised cart but likely more personal without as many people. If youre visiting in Summer the 9am timeslot is advisable because of the heat. Sit on the left if you'd like to be in the shade. Bookings as essential as you cannot wander the park. Highly recommended! Great for kids. Thanks for having us!!
Jessica McInerney — Google review
We did a tour on the 11/6/23.
It was an amazing experiance for the whole family we loved all of it, from the horse and cart to all the amazing animals.
I love that as you go around they feed the animals so you get to see them up all really close unlike other Zoos you see them sleeping from a distance (mostly). Tour guide (Rebecca) was so patient with the kids questions and comments they learnt a lot while seeing and loving the experience. They have already asked if we can do it next weekend.
I would reccomend this to everybody it is a MUST SEE 10/10 !!!
Anna Lang — Google review
Absolutely fantastic, our guide Cat was amazing at answering all our questions and letting us have a good look at the animals but most importantly the animals look happy and adored
As the tours are guided you will have to wait at the main gates for the park staff to open them, which won’t happen until about 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time so if you are really early bring some water and snacks.
Such a heartwarming experience to see the animals so happy and healthy.
Nicole Andreazza — Google review
Took my partner to Altina for a surprise tour for his Christmas present and as a second surprise, he got to feed some giraffes. I really wanted to make it a double surprise by the initial surprise being the tour and the second surprise being the giraffe and zebra feeding which would happen after the tour. Becca was fantastic and gave us our tour on the horse drawn cart and really helped make the surprise the best it could be and helped me keep the second part of the surprise a secret until it was time to feed the giraffes.
Once we moved onto the giraffes we had Allie. Allie was wonderful and super knowledgeable about giraffes and zebras. We had such a great time feeding the giraffes and zebras and Allie made the experience such a fun and friendly one. It was so special to be able to feed these amazing animals and learn so much about them. Allie was also kind enough to take some really nice photos of us with Shaka (the best giraffe ever!)
Thanks so much Altina!
Ash Keighley — Google review
Good experience. We were there during summer, and it was so humid, definitely recommend going during the cooler months. It also gets really sandy as the cart/horses manoeuvre, so bring along a hat and sunnies.
We paid $45 per person for motorised cart.
It was disappointing that light afternoon snack wasn’t provided despite stating it on their website upon booking confirmation.
There were other animals outdoors and a small air conditioned mini museum you could take a look while waiting for the tour to start, but many of us were just in the AC room due to the weather, it was about 43 degrees celsius that day.
Our tour guide seemed to be rushing, we only had a few seconds view of some animals or just drove past them which was a pity. Our cart was overtaking all the other groups who had different guides.
I believe this would’ve been a better experience with different tour guides, nevertheless, it was a unique experience for us.
cheryl — Google review
I took my son who is 4 today, he loved it and so did I. We did not go in the horse drawn carriage instead just opting for the basic seats on the back of the Ute. It was pretty cool. There was plenty to see, we arrived at 12:45, with gates opening at 12:50 for our 1pm booking. We could then park inside the park. From the parking we moved into the gift shop to pay and then on to the little walking track here we got to see some monkeys, mear cats, crocodiles and alligators. We had 30 minutes to roam around before boarding our ride around the park. The ride went for about an hour and half. All the animals seemed to like the attention and came up to the viewing areas, some with a little coercion of food from the guide lol. It was a great day out. The kids could move around the carriage while stoped to get a better look, all in all I would recommend Altina wildlife park. Bookings are essencial on their website.

There is no other experience like it absolutely amazing and educational.
Not like a normal zoo it's a guided tour we took my step father who has mobility issues they were accommodating and helpful and he got to take the grand kids and experience something new with them as a 58 year old man who has been to many zoos he was overwhelmed with the experience

Honestly one of the best wildlife parks my partner and I have visited, and we have been to quiet a few, you book in advance online or can call up to see if there are availabilities. We had booked 3 of the animal encounters and they were able to organise a fourth for us when requested, all the staff we very helpful, nice, and knowledgeable about their animals. The animals were well cared for and well socialised, with lots of room to roam. The monkey's and meerkats we interactive and happy to take food and climb all over you if you were quiet and respectful towards them. The rhinos we're happy to come in for some treats and let you have a scratch. The lion encounter were our highlight, feeding them was an amazing experience, just keep you fingers to yourself because they are wild animals. Our tour guide, I believe her name was Sonya, was lovely, she made sure to point out the different animals and gave us plenty of time with each encounter. 10/10, we will be visiting again!

Massive kudos to all involved.
The ukulele group that was here, was excellent entertainment.

It is one of the tourist attractions in the town worth exploring upon visit. It gives the feel of life people have led in the past living there. Reflections of irrigation and farming tools, local shops, mecial facilities and local culture can be experienced here. There is a section of the museum which is dedicated to portrayal of Italian migration along with the trade skills that came in.

Loved the experience and had a great day out. Loads to see and do.
Only downside was that, by buying tickets online, it was advertised as "beat the lineup" or similar wording, but we still had to wait in a very long queue behind people who were buying tickets- also a very convoluted ordering system. Would not buy tickets online again.
Everything else was spot on.
Volunteers were happy, friendly and informative. Well done to them.

Griffith is the town of my birth and teenage years.
I returned to holiday after a long absence in 2015.
The Pioneer Park Museum bought back many memories especially the Post Office where I worked on the Griffith Telephone Exchange before it became automated.
So many of the restored shops of yesteryear on display.
My interest in the Italian Museum (within the complex) was also memorable as my parents were immigrants who settled in Griffith in 1929. Many artefacts on display from every region in Italia.
Prepare to spend at least half a day to visit (longer if you have time) and see how this 'dust bowl' became the thriving City it is today.
Gloria Velleley — Google review
Arrived late in the day and the woman at the desk said if we didn't have enough time and were free the next day, just drop by with our names and we would be allowed in for free. We spent two hours on the first day and another one on the second day at this incredibly fascinating site. Beautifully presented by volunteers and full of marvellous information about the pioneering families and people of the Griffith region. A little more on the indigenous heritage would have been much appreciated but other than that - full marks for a brilliantly brought together collection of relics, buildings and technologies.

A well established site which gives a great feeling of a pioneer village. Give yourself a good couple of hours.
A hiking trail with views leads to this shelter inhabited from the late 1920s to1952 by a recluse.
Great place to visit and learn a bit about the Italian immigration to the area. It is not always easy to follow the numbered walk as some numbers have been pulled off and the walk defined dirt paths do tend to deviate all over the place. If it is cool enough you could walk from the Junction all the way up. Obviously used by mbs as well by the track evidence. Some amazing scenery as well as views. Be mindful of grass seeds, rotten things. Dog friendly, some climbing, paths narrow, watch for broken glass as obviously a local drinking spot, bins at carpark
Jacqueline Leorke — Google review
I really liked it... a lot of the negative reviews probably want pristine trails, and boardwalks so they don't have to get dirt on their shoes or burrs in their socks.... It's a really interesting little rocky outcrops with multiple trails throughout, they are a bit rough, and there is a bit of rock scrambling to do, and the single-track trails are in places very primitive, and some along the bottom of the cliff faces are almost indiscernible after it's been rainy (as the grasses and plants have grown). But it's very close to Griffith which is in view from almost all vantage points, so there is no way you will get lost.
I walked from the Quest hotel in town, up Boonah St, and followed the trails parallel to Rememberance Dr, up along the ridge, following the trails across the top (next to Scenic Dr) until the Hermit's Cave. You have many trails, and lookouts that you come across, and then there are primitive rock stairs that go down to the Hermit's Cave and bottom of the cliffs. There are a smaller trail along the bottom of the cliff, which is a bit harder to follow, but for the less adventurous there is a new wider graded trail/dirt road a bit further down the hill towards town that also travels all the way along back to where you start.
It was a real gem! a total surprise that it was this close to town, I have been to Griffith before and never new there was a great hike SO close! pretty easy to do if you are of moderate fitness, and 2-3 hrs to spare! highly recommend!

Found this experience interesting but sad to see this man's hard work now.. overgrow, graffiti and rubbish scattered amongst his pristine home.
Signs are all pulled off in area's.
Volunteers and a working bee from the council would make this site more appealing than the false pictures on the website.
Angela Jayne Temponi — Google review
Would suggest reading the Wikipedia entry about the hermit before coming up. The signage and paths are not well-maintained and there is rubbish around. But if you know the story of the hermit it is still an interesting place to visit, and there are good views of Griffith. We parked on Scenic Drive and walked down the stairs to the cave. Not tricky for fit people but kids / elderly people should be careful with unsteady ground and some shifting rocks.
James B — Google review
Good place for a little trail walk and climb over some rocks. Great look out over Griffith the hub of NSW food bowl.
Jonathan Dearing — Google review
Could be a great local attraction but unfortunately, has not been maintained. We enjoyed checking out the view and exploring the site but faded signage and syringes and rubbish lying around took away from the experience. Hopefully council or whoever is responsible can give it a bit of a tidy up for future visitors.
Tim Drough — Google review
Griffith residents and council should be very ashamed of this place!! To say it's disgusting would be too nice! There is broken glass everywhere so looks like the locals or local yobbos use it as a hurling place. Unless you are a mountain goat 🐐 with boots on Dont even bother!! Such a shame as it could be a great tourist spot with loads of TLC and maybe some sort of surveillance . Very disappointed Griffith. One star is too many for rating
Linda Eyles — Google review
What a weird and wonderful place to visit in the hills along the Griffith scenic route.
Learn about the home made in the caves, walk through them to see how Hermit lived back in the eay 1900's.
Views are great from carpark. The 1.2kn walk is moderate, and signage warns of dangers when wet, and steep areas.
I did the extended walk of 5km, which walked top, along the bottom, & back along road to carpark.
Worth visiting if visiting Griffith.
Raelene G — Google review
Well worth a visit but you need to do a little research on Wiki “Hermit’s Cave” first so it is more meaningful. Learn about Valerie Ricetti first. Path is a little overgrown and some rubbish had blown in from locals who park up there. Info centre in town will give you a map that is helpful.
Bryce McLean — Google review
I started the trail at Hermits Cave car park. It is an easy walk although the trail is not marked well and I lost it on more than one occasion and eventually just continued bush bashing back to the top however I missed many of the points of interest. No big deal as your orientation is easy to where one is so you will not get lost. There are numbered markers but the info pamphlet from the tourist info kiosk in town does not include what they are in reference too.
I would have given this trail over 4 stars if the trail was clearly defined which it was not and the place is not used as a dumping ground for the public to scatter rubbish. I was disgusted and disappointed with the degree of rubbish here to the point that I cut the walk short halfway in. It appears to be coming from the cliff tops where people toss it over the edge.
The saving grace was the trail along the ridge line on my return which is parallel to Scenic Drive. This section was a very easy walk with Rock hopping, stunning outcrops and fabulous views.

Very interesting. Very overgrown and un doable track when we visited in mid Feb.

This is not your normal site to visit. It's a hiking trail to visit a few landmarks. You can't spend money. You can't get a drink. Bring good shoes. Don't fall.
Brad Horne — Google review
A good place to glimpse some history of the area. Signage helps you find the cave and chapel and there is a walk - not for the faint hearted or clumsy of foot though - lots of stone steps to negotiate. Worth a visit.
Martin Brown — Google review
It was different place to visit. Such a pity people have to deface it. The Griffith Shire needs to get up there and give it a clean, especially get rid of the German Swastika from the roof of the cave.
OurWanderingWays — Google review
Could be an excellent tourist attraction. The story is fascinating unfortunately it has not been maintained. Not well sign posted. The paths are overgrown and are hard to distinguish. Listed as one of the towns main attractions it was disappointing to see the lack of interest by council to give this place its proper due.
Some amazing rock formations and good views of the town
Elizabeth Scalzo — Google review
Great place to visit if interested in having a look at the entire Griffith town from above. Its a relaxing place on the outskirts of the town not too far from pioneer park museum. It can be too dark in the night time as there are no street lights and driving should be cautious due to the kangaroos casually roaming around the roads. The sunset and sunrise view from here looks and is totally worth it.
This was the residing place of Vileri Ricetti during 1930-1950s. It has about a 1km of walking trail and some features like rock shelters to look at.

This Art Deco theatre is coming back to life in the safe hands of the Marketing & Cultural Services Co-ordinator at #leetonshirecouncil She and another council member took us on a highly informative tour today. The theatre requires an upgrade and the council have submitted an application for a grant for all people of the world to experience an expose of diverse cultural and local events. Wish them well!

Great silo art done on 3 connecting silos looks great in my opinion

The silos are very easy to access and perfect for photographing. Weethalle is a very very small town with only a few businesses present. The old train station is no longer being used and is sadly falling into disrepair. Lovely little old closed bank building here as well. I did not see any businesses open when I went so unable to give any feedback on them. Well worth the silo art trip

Aviation museum featuring a number of historic military craft & regular flying displays.
This museum has been on my bucket list forever! Finally got there a couple of weeks ago. A five star affair, where every aircraft in this museum flies. You've probably seen them in action at various airshows. They have a big warbirds one coming up in October here at Temora. Fingers crossed I can get back down for it.
Rod Howarth — Google review
Great display of ex military aircraft. Great to see them being restored. Only have three stars as woman on front desk rude, didn't even tell us where to go to for display etc. To keen to take our money and get back to her phone call

Temora Aviation Museum is the most impressive aviation museum I have visited. The staff here are welcoming and wonderful. The collection of warbirds is wide-ranging, each of them meticulously maintained and presented. The biggest highlight however, was our tour guide, Malcolm. Malcolm was a breath of fresh air with a deep and profound knowledge of the planes on show and beyond. Malcolm conducts tours every Thursday and I cannot recommend seeking him out, enough. Thank you Malcolm and thank you Temora Aviation Museum for making our experience so brilliant. P.S. Malcolm, the Ryan is for you.

Always a great place to visit.
Even better on showcase days with spectacular flying in some iconic aircraft.
Two flying Spitfires, Hudson, Vampire, Meteor, Dragonfly Tiger Moth, 2 Ryans, Canberra, Cessna O2A, Bird dog, Boomerang and Wirraway!
Some rare aircraft in brilliant condition and people around more than willing to provide any info you need.
Love this place.
Now has 3 flight simulators as well. Spitfire P51 and P40. Well worth a visit.

I heard the history of the war. Louis, Yasmine and all the staff were always nice and friendly.
Each plane has a detailed explanation with a video. It was interesting to be able to see an airplane with a history up
I heard the show goes on 16 September, and I'd like to join again.😘😘

Truly a national treasure 🙌
A combination of incredible history through the age of flight, amazing tourism backed by local dedication, and military support in the air and on the ground. When you combine this with Warbirds Australia, you have a seriously impressive experience, which is nestled on the outskirts of a beautiful country town..
This museum is guaranteed to impress, no matter how old or young you are and the kids will love it too. Oh and if you are not the kind to buy souvenirs, good luck with that, there are so many choices.
Absolutely stunning ❤️🍻

Went to one of their aviation show days. Happen every few months. As a museum it's very well done. Good explanation panels and planes right up close. On show days plane's are up flying with a terrific MC giving you a running history of the individual plane. The pilots can be quizzed directly after landing. It's great!

Rural museum was very nice. It took over 2 hours to walk the whole thing. So many things to see. Id recommend 3 hours for the whole thing thoroughly. Lots of stuff the turn of the century. Toilets on the way. Id recommend taking a snack or two a picnic on the way. Our favourites were the ambulances and fire trucks. also the fossils, stones and shells were all pretty special too!!! Oh watch out for the crocodile he seems very scared!!!!

As a newly arrived resident in Temora, I wanted to explore my new world. A beautiful day yesterday, so decided to go for a walk and ended up at this stunning site. Never have I seen such a stunning exhibition of early country life. Extensive indoor and outdoor exhibits in appealing grounds, all well-labelled with explanations. There is even a little old church and an extensive rock, mineral, fossil and shell exhibition. The attention to detail is most commendable. Expect to spend a chunk of time here and enjoy.

Very non-discript from the outside but they have acres of museum exhibits out the back. You could spend a whole day there. That's how big it is. It's very neat and tidy and well kept. The staff are frienly and very helpful with loads of knowledge. I am definately going back. Once a year they have a working day when you can see things actually running. A must see when you go to Temora.

Very well presented and great variety. Lovely owner always has time for guests coming to his museum. Friendly staff, always helpful and available to help. After visiting the Henry Parkes Centre my interest in Moat House was piqued. I was going to England and so went to find the original house. The replica house at the Centre is really a true representation.
I hope you like the photos attached. Unfortunately it’s now a private residence but amazing to think that it’s survived since before 1840, so no internal photos.

There is also the coach of the first reverse cycle air conditioned train, the Silver City Comet.
Cool sight! Very recent mine, from 1996 to 2001! Amazing feeling looking down into it. Only 100m-ish from the carpark and the walk was easy. Facilities are clean too, nice flushing toilet and hand basin. Came here in the late afternoon and it was all still open

Very interesting old gold mining history. Worth the walk to the first viewing platform but the mosquitoes nearly carried me away on the walk around to the other much smaller open cut mines.

This attraction is free. There's enough parking as it wasn't very busy and the parking available is suitable for caravans (a few vans at least).
There's a couple of walks to do and several lookout points. Some of the track includes an include. It's a gravel surface track and there are lots of ants around so be careful where you stop for photos. We ended up with dozens of large ants walking all over our shoes as we didn't look down when taking our first photo.
I think it's worth having a look if you're interested in this type of thing or you happen to be passing by and it's convenient to stop. I wouldn't go out of my way again to visit it though.

Peak Hill is a little gem located midway between Parkes and Dubbo. The old open cut mine is very impressive - there are a couple of walks to do, best is the longest away from the car park. Toilets available and audio (located to the left of the entrance) pod gives you a run down of the mines activity and life. Decent presentation of the mine site, easy parking and walk to view the mine for disabled and wheelchair bound visitors.

Great lookout to see the old disused open pit gold mine. Information about the mine is on an under cover sign board. It has an interesting history. Fascinating place and quite intriguing walk back in time. Hard to believe that back then Australia played such an important and leader in worldwide communications. Coffee shop food is expensive, BUT remember where you are... In the middle of nowhere! Enjoy.

Great stop for either the casual tourist or space buff. Plenty of information with all of the exhibits, including the control panel that was recreated for the movie - a nice little "fact vs fiction" panel about the contents of movie too. Great to see that credit is given to Honeysuckle Creek and the roles the two stations played during Apollo 11.
A lot of the exhibits are about how the telescope is used today - Parkes isn't a communications telescope, it is a radio telescope. There's a lot to learn if you have ~45 minutes to read all of the information there.
I really enjoyed the exhibitions on how objects look in radio spectrums vs how they look in visual spectrum only. The large display that had the galaxy being surveyed as a small circle (visual) surrounded by an absolutely massive web of radio signals was both pretty/artistic and informative.
The gift shop is really well stocked with everything space related. I didn't get an opportunity to watch the 3D movie that was playing due to time constraints. The café service was very quick.

I am glad we stopped here and had a look at this magnificent facility.
Just outside if the main entrance are two dishes setup approx 10m apart through which you can communicate to each other. Fascinating.
We even arrived just in time for the 3D movies. They show three short movies which explain the purpose of the dish and the history of our universe in a child appropriate way.
The kids had a ball on the playground outside and the interactive displays inside. There are lots of little puzzles around the place that kids as well as aprrbt slikr to get their teeth stuck on.
Fantastic gift shop with great science games for kids and and interesting book selection. Of course, you have to get "The dish" stubby cooler while you're here.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The toilet block immaculately clean.

Definitely worth the visit to see this beautiful part of international history. I was amazed at how beautiful this observatory is. Excellent information on its history is available. Coming from Cowra there is about a ten km unsealed road but if your car is not too low it can definitely be driven on( just a slower drive.

What a fantastic achievement for Australia. We were so thrilled to visit this wonder of the world and the staff in the information centre and cafe are fantastic. While we there we actually got to see the Dish move and what an experience. Both of us had this on our bucket list and anyone in the area would be crazy to not go and visit

Been to the Parkes Observatory a few times and it's usually been a quick stop look at the shop, see the printed explanations around the shop, have a bite to eat, go to the toilets and leave. But, there is more to see. You must see the 3D movies, they make the visit worthwhile. They aren't just for kids, they are informative and give you the explanations you will miss if you don't see them. Sure they cost money and at the same time you get (borrow) some 3D glasses to see the movies. They are simple to understand and a worthy accompaniment to the displays. My wife and I drove up from Sydney just to see them. A visit is highly recommended.

If travelling through Parkes in New South Wales it is worth taking a detour to view the radio telescope near Parkes. It is located about 20km North of Parkes. It has been at this site for many years and has been involved in many important space activities such as the Apollo 11 moon landing and become well known through the movie The Dish. There is a visitor centre that contains exhibits and displays of equipment as well as a shop where you can buy souvenirs and space educational items.

We stopped here on our way back from Dubbo to Adelaide and were pleasantly surprised. Yes it caters to the kids but there is a whole lot for the adults to read and learn too. We did not see the movie but the free experience of watching the telescope was worth it. The gardens and toilets were under maintenance so be mindful of that. Definitely worth a visit.
A brilliant experience with a ton of history. I could sit for hours and just watch The Dish turn and work. Staff is super friendly and I'd come back anytime.

Fascinating place and quite intriguing walk back in time. Hard to believe that back then Australia played such an important and leader in worldwide communications. Coffee shop food is expensive, BUT remember where you are... In the middle of nowhere! Enjoy.
Allan Jones — Google review

Seasoned hikers can enjoy some short-long rugged and immersive walks. The walking tracks here are not for beginners or the unfit. However it's an easy (albeit long) walk along the road to Mt Nangar, shortcut via the link track but that's rocky and harder. Definitely the place to go if you want some harder and more natural hikes (no boardwalks here!)

Quiet camp by running water. Had problems finding walk tracks, all grassed over, so walked along the roads. Interesting old Orchard and sheds at Cassey farm.
4WD track to lookout Mt Nangar worth doing.

This is a great place to visit. It has some great views and lots of history and wildlife but the track to the top is quite rough. there are toilets at the campground and a few viewing platforms like the one at dripping rock
All in all i loved the place and would recommend camping there.

Beautiful national park, just beware that the roads are often fire trails, so some low vehicles need to go very slowly. It is absolutely gorgeous in spring, particularly after the rains, the green hills and wildflowers are unbelievable! It was very striking red dirt too, the Nangar Lookout walk is highly recommended, but I would also love to take advantage of the camping grounds and picnic areas too.

I think this would be an excellent pit stop for children. The exhibits themselves are interesting for all. There are lots of different activities aimed towards primary school aged children. This museum also has a peaceful and interactive outdoor area, with more interactive exhibits and large painted board games.
It is $10 entry per adult and they currently accept the NSW Discover vouchers.
In my very personal opinion, I've given 4 stars as we don't have kids and thought perhaps we could have given it a miss.

Great information for young and old, definitely worth the trip to Canowindra (pronounced Canowndra). Its story started when an excavator for a new road noticed some unusual markings on a slab of rock. A local bee keeper agreed and contacted the Australian Museum, who confirmed the find as a great set of fossils from the Devonian period - basically a range of now extinct fish from 400 million years ago, most likely trapped together in a lake or Billabong that dried up. The exhibits target the full range of children and adults. There are also picnic tables, toilets and a shop. Entrance is reasonable. And Canowindra is an attractive town.

This cemetery houses the remains of Japanese people who died in Australia during World War II. The gravesite of the 234 Japanese POWs, who died during the ‘Cowra breakout’ in 1944, are located here. The remains of Japanese airforce personnel, who were killed during WWII raids on Darwin, are also located at this gravesite. There is no admission fee to this location. You may also be interested in visiting the former prisoner of war camp - it is located about a kilometre away from this cemetery. I wish I had visited the gardens a lot sooner instead of just driving through Cowra. It is a healthy walk around the grounds which are immaculate, and there are golf carts for hire for those who need them.
The staff are friendly, the walking paths don't have cracks or unevenness, the elevation change gives fantastic views, and the river, lake and waterfalls are tranquil. Take a picnic and relax on the ample grassed areas.
The grounds are quite open, so be careful on really hot days as you'll be in the sun a bit.

I was amazed by the history of the garden, the garden was very beautiful and it was well taken care. My favourite was bonsai and those fishes Nd ducks, feeding them was satisfying. Upabove the garden, the environment and atmosphere was serene. The cultural heritage gallery was one way to know the history of the garden. Really beautiful and awesome.

There just aren't enough stars.
The gardens are exceptionally well kept and there are hidden vistas around most corners.
Wonderful exhibitions, gift shop and manicured lawns and shrubs.
The gardens are just beautiful.
Unfortunately we left the cafe until after we had seen the gardens. It was supposedly closed for a function but not all the inside tables, or any of the outside tables, were set up. Even so, no room for two people who just wanted a cuppa and a treat.
Maybe next time some signs telling other patrons that the cafe will be closed might be insightful.
The cafe non-experience didn't detract from the gardens.
One piece of advice. Two bags of duck/fish food won't be enough!

On arrival, the team member in reception was lovely. The gardens were fantastic on generally a gentle undulating hill. The stroll through them was relaxing and peaceful with many photo opportunities. Although this was purely a sightseeing visit, as a Marriage Celebrant, there are some beautiful places here a couple could choose for their wedding ceremony. Checking out the various Bonsai was interesting and the variety of wild Australian native birds were gorgeous.

We made the decision to detour via Cowra to specifically see this garden. We were not disappointed. This garden is stunning. It is set over quite a few acres and is beautifully set out and manicured. Very reasonable entry fee. It is also worthwhile to visit the site of the prison camp and the war cemetery to complete the story behind the garden.

Fascinating and beautiful not to mention pristine. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit although being in a wheelchair the undulating footpaths and bridges gave my carer quite the workout. Lol

A beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The gardens are astounding and well kept. And the story behind the gardens themselves is interesting as well. We had a Japanese POW camp here at Cowra, and there was a break out of the prisoners, during the escape and the search, 200ods Japanese and three Australians were killed.
Though they were enemy combatants the locals buried them with great respect and honor. After the war this became a Japanese war cemetery and made inroads to a fellowship with the Japanese people.in the seventies Ken Nakijima a landscape architect designed the gardens and with help build and planted the place. After his death, his ashes were even interred here.

If you like Japanese style gardens, you will love these. They rival some in Japan, I've been a lover of Japanese gardens since visiting Japan in 1975. These gardens are stunning and beautifully designed. We intend coming back this way on our way home to visit again. Can't recommend them more highly. We also had lunch at the gardens Cafe and it was pretty good too. The best chips we've had in ages and a delicious quiche, cab thoroughly recommend the Cafe as well. And by the way the meals are very, very generous, we shared the quiche dish and it was plenty for lunch. All up a fantastic place to visit. Just do it.

Beautiful and well maintained park. Feeding koi and ducks (and ducklings) are fun for kids and adults. Feeding food is at $2 per bag. Flowers and all plants are beautiful. The view from the lookout point is awesome. If the weather was better, I'm sure it'd be even more stunning view. We came when it's raining and they provided umbrellas for free to use for strolling in the park.
Walking path is easy for young adults and kids, perhaps some elderly who has trouble walking might find it a bit challenging to go up to the lookout point.

A beautiful and tranquil garden that is a must visit on a trip to Cowra. Lovely stream all the way through the gardens and lots of wildlife to see.
I was lucky enough to visit when there were ducklings and chicks around. It was great for wildlife and still life photography. I could have easily spent a while day wandering around these gardens.
There is also a bonsai house with lots of bonsai tress that are many years old. This was a peaceful area and lovely to see.
There's a cafe on site, quite expensive but lovely cake and tea. The gift shop offers some unique gifts as well that are from Japan.

Absolutely beautiful! We visited early on a day that was forecast to be 40 degrees yet the grounds felt lovely and cool. We ate at the cafe which was delicious and marveled at the waterfalls, the ducks and Koi, the architecture is so well designed. The bonsai were magnificient and it was nice to cool down inside afterwards touring the artworks and the zen garden. You can finish in the gift shop which has some unusual items for sale. This is definately worth a visit. Opposite the car park is a sculpture garden and place for the kids to run around before taking off on another driving adventure.

Well worth the visit. Beautiful, tranquil gardens. Kept in pristine condition. Smooth walking paths, with some managable hills and slopes for those a little walking challenged.
