Great venue for a function in the Max Schubert cellar. There were 25 of us and the menus were adapted as needed. The food and wine pairings complement each other nicely.
It's cool so a coat/ wrap is essential for comfort.

Wow what an amazing selections of wines in the wine tasting for $120 p/p the knowledge of the lady doing our wine tasting was amazing. We ordered a cheese platter, hot chips by QR Code.

Exquisite! Food was beyond excellent. Each of the 7 little snacks was out of this world. Our seven meal tasting was interesting and delicious beyond belief. Service was friendly, polished and impeccable! Ambiance was perfect and the wine pairing… Ooh La La! Thankfully, all prices include the tax and the service. Such a sensible system. Canada should wake up and follow suit! You might have to rob a bank to eat here but 100% worth the jail time. I have lactose intolerances and allergies to cod and strawberries and they have happily accommodated my issues. What a foodie experience! Kudos to the whole team! Check out the menu.

Awesome visit to one of the biggest wine producers in the world. We did the tour and had lunch in the kitchen, great day out and a must if you're in Adelaide 🍷

Incredible!
Absolutely love the grounds
We went on a Monday for a wine tasting.
Ivan at the cellar door is an absolute gem, so knowledgeable about all the ones, right down to the size and wood type of the barrel, each drop is made in.
All the wines were so delicious, we were craving a charcuterie board. Would probably have been best to go on a Wednesday through to Sunday as that is when the kitchen is open.
Other than that, it was a great experience!
Stand out drop of the tasting would definitely be the 2020 Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz

We joined a great 2hour tour called Ultimate Penfolds Experience Tour. The tour guide is a very knowledgable and passionate lady and she can speak Cantonese as well. We visited the house of the founder and the cottage. And finally we tasted a series of wines including Grange! We love the whole journey.

Visited Penfolds Magill for the Iconic Experience which included a tour of the estate, wine tasting followed by a set menu lunch at the kitchen. The tour and wine tasting was excellent. Sam our guide was knowledgeable and a great guide. No questions were unanswered and the wine tasting was not rushed. we could not fault this part of the experience. The lunch at the kitchen was not as great as expected. The food was average and the wait staff did not explain the meals that were being served and we were not offered a menu to tell us what we were eating. One waiter in particular was extremely rude and plates were plonked down in front of us. When questioned if this particular plate was the gluten free option he was even ruder still with his reply. This soured what had been a most memorable experience touring the estate and tasting some amazing wine. Would definitely recommend the tour and the wine tasting but pass on thee lunch

Undertook a tour with Lily on 02.07.23. Her knowledge was exemplary. Very impressive indeed. Partook in a tasting afterward. Divine wines and hostess was informative and allowed us ‘free time’. Not pushy at all. Enjoyed some snacks at our tasting lounge. So relaxing and stunning view! Quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend the cheese board. Delicious! We will be back! Great day out.

I had a couple of friends visiting from interstate so I shouted them the Penfolds Ultimate Winery Experience and tagged along myself - wow - what an incredible day! The tour was amazing and gave an in-depth understanding not only of Penfolds but of how south Australia became a wine Mecca! Enthusiastic guide and beautiful grounds, the morning was rounded off with a premium wine tasting - so good!

The food is so excellent. We order three main course, a porterhouse steak, 4+ Wagyu beef and a pork cutlery and kid meal. It is recommended to order the beef in medium rare and this can improve the tender of the meat. Also the portion of kid meal is so generous.

Great experience! The guide was just wonderful he entertained us with the Penfolds family anecdotes and explained very well how they make their wines, his positive attitude and passion was contagious.Actually, all the team was very professional, since you step in the winery you feel welcome. The wine tasting was very interesting, we had the opportunity to taste a very wide variety of wines with a deep explanation. The atmosphere is impecable as well, combining the old cellars with a modern area. I was travelling solo and I felt part of the group, I recommend 100% this tour.

We enjoyed a 1.5 hour wine tasting a couple of days ago and it was simply the best. Lachie was our guide and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, funny, efficient and accommodated my palate and our groups to give us a memorable experience. We were taken on quite the journey and the history behind each vintage was fascinating. Now I am not really a Red wine drinker but I thorough enjoyed every minute of our tasting and would recommend that you definitely go to Penfolds. The Red drinkers in our group were also incredibly impressed with the variety and depth of our tasting. We will be talking about this for a long time and recommending this as a must do to anyone going to Adelaide. Ask for Lachie and he was fabulous. Thanks again.

I had a wonderful experience here thanks for our tour guide Yuchen. He introduced Penfolds history and for the wine tasting, it was wonderful and my parents loved this part so much. He is professional, knowledgeable about the wine and we really appreciate his work.

The 2 hour $150 ultimate wine tasting experience was superb. The guide was knowledgeable. The place was beautiful. The tour took us to wine factory, storage and the historic buildings. Prepare to spend half a day at the estate to walk around and chill. The estate is only 10 km from downtown. Suggest to take Uber if wine tasting.

An exceptional experience all round. Staff serving us our wine were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The wines were superb, and the share platters we had from the kitchen were tasty, generous, reasonably priced, and came out in good time despite the fact that it was a very busy lunch time. The ambience of the tasting area enhanced the experience. A great way to spend a rainy Adelaide afternoon!

Cleland Wildlife Park is a zoological park in the Mount Lofty Ranges, close to Adelaide city centre. The park has exhibits of native Australian animals in their natural habitats, along with hands-on experiences and guided night walks. It is open during school holidays in the Adelaide area, and is also a good place to have a picnic.
Embarking on a safari filled with kangaroos and koalas was an absolute delight! These adorable creatures stole my heart with their irresistible cuteness. The kangaroos bounded gracefully across the vast plains, their powerful hind legs propelling them effortlessly. Watching them hop around with such grace and agility was a true marvel. And the koalas, nestled among the eucalyptus trees, were simply too cute for words. Their fuzzy ears, button noses, and gentle eyes melted my heart instantly. Observing them munch on eucalyptus leaves and cuddle up in tree branches filled me with a sense of joy and wonder. This safari was an unforgettable experience, showcasing the charm and beauty of these incredible animals.

Had good experience seeing native animals of Australia. It’s a good weekend getaway. I find tickets to be bit high but overall good experience. Bought Souvenirs, staff was very kind and supportive. Cafe is also really nice. For me feeding Kangaroos and watching Koalas was unique experience.

Don't miss your chance to get close to hundreds of kangaroos! You will be able to pet them, feed them, and see them as they are walking free in this spacious park. We also had a chance to pet Koala and get very close to Emu, but kangaroos impressed us the most. My favorite was a mama with a baby in the pouch. It was so special when both of them were eating from my hand at the same time.

I met a lot of various and strange wild animals there.
There I saw koalas, wallabies, emus, and Tasmanian devil for the first time in my life.
Also, the cute koala looked like a living cotton doll.
The staff were very friendly, and the place gave me the gift of a memory.
If there is another chance someday, I would like to visit again :-)
Kwangil Jeon — Google review
Good experience to see Australian native animals. You can go very close to them an feed them. There is also a option to get close up photos with a Koala, while petting one. It may be the reason for it high ticket price, given the number of variety of animals. You can meet a lots of Australian native animals if it is your first time in Australia, but will not be very different, if you have been other similar wildlife park in Australia. Overall the experience is good.

Well-managed, clean sanctuary. The well-maintained paths make it easy to get around. Signs are informative. Staff is friendly and helpful. Animals are well cared for and have enough space to be comfortable. The selection is great. I enjoyed every minute.

This is a great place to get close to many Australian animals and offer them food, not all of them were interested in the pellets - they really loved when people brought fruit with them. You can have your photo taken petting a koala for free (you're not able to hold koalas in SA). Make sure to catch some of the keeper talks - they were really interesting.

Such an amazing Wildlife Park! Was way bigger than I expected and has so many opportunities to get up close and personal with the Australian native animals. Was great to see the Echidnas feeding, but the highlight was getting up close and personal with the rock wallabies! They're usually always so shy and hiding at other parks/Zoos, but here they're so active!

My family took me to this place and I've seen a lot of animals that I've never seen before. Also, I got to pet and feed the animals. It's such a memorable experience! I highly recommend this place. 💙💙💙
Melody Parane — Google review
It is a nice place to take young kids or to see the local wildlife. It was a little expensive for us on the day. After paying, they said the koala show was shut due to heat, and when we walked around, all of the animals were sleeping or relaxing. Probably our fault for going on a 38°C day, but maybe they should have been closed.
Mycool — Google review
This was a great place to go as a tourist. We went mid day on a Thursday and there was hardly anyone there. The amount of animals you're able to interact with and feed is incredibly fun and entertaining. Great not only for children but adults as well. Be aware of the time though, we didn't know they closed at five and we were nearly locked into the car park! Our fault though, but I blame it on being able to get lost in the fun of the park.
Alex — Google review
The park is amazing for kids or adults trying to return to that innocence and just enjoy time with the animals. Highly recommend buying some food and feeding the wallabies, kangaroos, birds and potteroos (the last especially are surprisingly cute and very friendly).
Note: beware of big birds 🦢

Amazing wildlife park with all kinds of Kangaroos and a lot of other Australian animals. Buy some animal feed and you’ll soon be friends with most of them! A bit of a walk, and a little higher up in the hills so do not forget to bring a jumper.

A solid wildlife experience with a beautiful view of the city.
We spent around two hours enjoying everything this place had to offer, incl, petting koalas and feeding the kangaroos, wallabies and potoroos. The animals were friendly; the staff were courteous, genuinely cared for the animals and very well-informed :)

The Big Rocking Horse is a popular tourist attraction in Gumeracha, located just outside of the city. The Horse is also famous for its large rocking horse, which is said to be able to move at a speed of up to 12 kilometers per hour.
What a wonderful few hours spent at the Big Rocking Horse. Nominal fees to climb up the World's Biggest Rocking Horse and to enter the petting zoo. Beautiful fauna and flora small little walk with the kiddos.
We also had lunch at the cafe and enjoyed it. Kids finished mostly everything.
The Toy Factory has really nice wooden stuff and naturally made items. Superb to pick birthday party favour or just something quirky for your home.

Took the family out to their first time at the Big Rocking Horse at Gumeracha.
For $2 per person gains access to climb to the top of the Rocking Horse.
After that we went to the Cafe for lunch. Ordered a hamburger for Barbie and me, and the boys shared chicken nuggets and chips.
Next stop was the wildlife park for $3 per person.
Overall it’s good value and price for a family adventure.

Quite a nice little place to take your family out & about. $2 dollars to enter into the gaint rocking horse, there are many ladders to advance up, and elevate down. So make sure to wear the right shoes, clean cafe, and even a tourist house to buy souvenirs.

Highly recommend a family day out exploring the oldest wooden toys manufactured here.
Toilets are roomy and kept reasonably clean. Family and Accessible ramps into the toy factory and accessible toilets available onsite.

Plenty of parking, a playground, cafe, toyshop, petting zoo and picnic area. Could use some barbeques and a few extra tables and chairs in their grass area but all in all a good place for a wholesome family outing. Don't let the goats take your bag of feed.

After 5 years and a covid, the number of animals here seemly are not too many as before. But all animals in animal park are too cute and the smell is ok, not bad as i thought. It is only $4 for entrance fee and $2 for animal food. This is a good place to visit, relax and watch cute animals.

A great little gem to visit. Nice scenic drive. Cute wooden toys for sale. Nice sized animal enclosure to feed some goats, llamas, ducks, peacocks, an emu (who didn't want to take any food lol) and some wallabies to name a few. Give yourself about 1.5 - 2hrs here.
Also has a Cafe if you don't bring your own picnic. Heaps of parking, even for buses.
To climb the wooden horse, be ready to climb ladders. We mistakenly thought it was stairs all the way. It's not.
Roza Richards — Google review
We had a great time, the goats are very cheeky and cute, the kangaroos were great. We had a fun time looking at all the cool items in the shop and got some lunch in the cafe. Of course we climbed to the top. The kids had a great day out, and the new owners have made some wonderful improvements, we can't wait to have a chance to go back again.

The toy factory museum was amazing, It takes you to your childhood memor, I hope they keep the place open. There is a small animal zoo, the entrance is very cheap. There is a toilet and some food available on the site, and the parking is big. We also had a peacock 🦚 in the parking by our car. The young boy in the reception was super friendly and is doing a great job.

We were here on Sunday (23/07/2023). This is a place where kids and adults both can have a good time. The Big Rocking Horse claims to be the world's biggest of the sort! You can pay $2.00 to climb to the top of the Big Rocking Horse and get a certificate!! There is a small wild life park with a $4.00 entrance fee! Animal food bags you can buy for $2.00 each. There are a small range of animals but still good enough for a quick visit and to take photos with the animals and feed them. Snowy the Goat can be cheeky! There are Peacocks, Ducks, Wallabies, Kangaroos, Australian Alpacas, Goats and Emu. Not to forget the talking parrot! When we went to the park it started to rain so we had to go to the warm and welcoming cafe! Great service! Chips and gravy were so yummy on a cold and rainy day and the coffees/ chai latte were so good. Perfect temperature! When the rain stopped they let us go back to the park using the same ticket! All the staff at the souvenir shop, park and the cafe were so helpful and friendly! Souvenir shop got lot of interesting hand crafted toys and board games and a variety of souvenirs. A must visit place on the way to Barossa!

Great location for a family day out , or even a causal couples date. Heaps to do from climbing the rocking horse. A lovely cafe to sit for a meal or beverage, or you can even go in to admire the wildlife animals , fun to feed them for only $2 a bag of food which is plenty for the furry friends to enjoy you. They even have a great toy shop you can grab yourself a little momentum or purchase a hand made wooden toy 🧸
Lovely destination to seriously suit all ages and groups.
Equip with plenty of seating area and even a play space for the kids that is fully fenced.

An amazing place for the whole family to have fun, especially for the kids on weekends. The big rocking horse is quite scary for some adults because of its height but interesting for kids.
There is a toy factory and souvenir area with lots of pretty items. I have bought some magnetic and finger puppets as they're so cute.
The relatively airy cafe and bakery even sell ice cream and fairy floss. A simple zoo with gentle and friendly animals helps the kids get closer to nature. There is a small playground for children as well, with tables and chairs for everyone to rest in or a small picnic.
The parking lot is quite spacious and airy. The toilet is not so bright but clean enough.
Thanks!

It was a bit outdated , yet we had a lot of fun here.
$2 entry each to climb right to the top of the rocking horse , not advised for kids under 4 as the climb is up and down ladders. My 5 year old managed but was scary to watch from under her. However you also receive a certificate to say you climbed it. ( Great value for money.)
Also $ 2 entry each into the petting zoo and $2 for a bag of food to feed the animals .
Kangaroos , Goats , Llamas, Sheep and Peacocks !
We did this on a $10 budget for myself and one child.
Great value for money and some amazing pictures.
There is an on-site Cafe also the Toy factory which you go into to get to the animals.

The family-run farm shop, Beerenberg Farm, sells homemade jams and chutneys as well as strawberry picking in the autumn and winter. The farm is located in the Adelaide Hills and is a great place for kids to pick strawberries.
What a massive upgrade this place had. Love the modernised interior. Everything looks so posh now. They even expanded the ice cream section to include more flavours. Strawberry ice cream was so creamy and still the best. They even do shakes. But it was quite diluted. Strawberry farm for picking is just next door and they have very juicy and sweet strawberries.. Or you can just buy them right off the shelves.

If you like strawberry picking and jams, this is the best place to go. We have been coming here but this time is to get the jam for our families and friends who were just visiting Adelaide. They made a great revamped of the place as they added cafe for customers to enjoy the food and strawberries, made it bigger for the shop too. We loved the different jams like blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, blue honey, apricot and orange marmalade. Very delicious for a reasonable price. Worth it for giving gifts too!

Beerenberg is just beautiful. They have thought of everything in their renovations. The variety of products is extensive. The young lady who served our breakfast and then later provided us with tastings was friendly, knowledgeable and obliging. Breakfast was lovely although I wasn't a fan of the shortcrust pastry on the pie. My husband's rosti looked so good too. Can wait to come back with family.

This is a beautifully designed, and well appointed destination.
I'm so glad that we have something this worthy of a visit, not far from the city of Adelaide! I was wowed, thoroughly impressed by the renovations, since I was here last, while the cafe was under construction.
We spent an idyllic half a day here.
We started off with breakfast, then had our coffees, and desserts. Their house made ice creams and waffles, were a hit with the kids, and the plating really impressed me.
The kids had a lovely time picking strawberries. If intending to pick strawberries, definitely try to visit before the weather gets too warm.
After having our fill with the strawberries we picked by hand, we had lunch in the cafe.
The pies we tried, are touted to be made from the sauces, available for sale in store. They were bursting with flavour, A must try.
The staff were very polite, and helpful. They really made me feel at home.
I am sure SA is proud, to have such a quality establishment, that will be a pleasure for both tourists and locals.
Especially those with kids, who are looking for a lovely, fuss free, activity to entertain the little ones, for the school holidays.
I'm looking forward to come back again for the food, if not for the sweet freshly picked strawberries! 🍓
Well done, to the staff at Beerenberg!

It's part of the history how Adelaide started. 129 days' of sea voyage with 199 seasick German, led by a captain who needed to ask around on how to get there. Pleased to see the Paech family's success. The choc-coated strawberry is my top choice, truly delicious

Plenty of parking and a very well organised and beautiful experience.
We loved the scone with the botanical jams (we bought back the strawberry and rose) and the beef pie with beerenberg sauce was delicious. The teas are loose leaf and worked a treat with the scone.
You can buy the 30g mini jam jars for 90cents each... what a steal. I packed them into my socks for carry on purposes.
Would highly recommend visiting.

This is a tricky one. This is a place that you want to give a good review to as it has a lot of hype and it’s a cool place to visit.
The shop was good and it’s good to see all of the products that you can get. We bought some jams that you don’t see in the shops. So that’s positive.
However, the food and the dining experience let it down. The menu options are limited, there were no real dietary options and the food just didn’t taste as good as it sounds on paper.
It is also so busy, so expect a wait for a table.
On a positive, the staff were friendly and good to deal with. We will probably give this place a second try to see if this was just a bad day.

So. Much. Fun! The kids had such a great time picking strawberries and contests as to who could find the biggest! A lot has changed since I was last here and I love the new spacious cafe and gift shop. The food was great! We stopped at a playground on our way home so some of our strawberries were a bit squished, but just made some jam!

Such a good experience picking strawberries. Although late in the season, there were still so much to pick. Most of them were blemish free, sweet and juicy, and super easy to pick and fill the box in no time. Best tasting strawberries ever! Highly recommended.

Highly recommend this place. Near Hahndorf

One of the activities you’ll enjoy in Adelaide.
Strawberry picking. You pay an entrance fee and can eat strawberries as much as you want. You can pick your own strawberries and pay for them.
I love their jams, specially fig and cinnamon 😋

We had an excellent time here. The staff was accommodating and allowed us access to the farm, despite our late arrival near closing time. The strawberries were heavenly in taste. Exploring the mini museum and learning about the farm's history added to our enjoyment. Plus, there was a diverse selection of products available for purchase, perfect for bringing a piece of our visit home.

We headed over to one of our favourite sauce and jam place from Hahndorf. Fantastic to visit the place that produces all our favourite jams and sauces we buy in Sydney. The cafe was cool and busy we had scones jam and cream and the edible strawberry and chocolate pot with some good coffee too. The purchased some goodies to take bake to Sydney and a bulk tomato sauce yummo. Totally recommend a visit if your in Hahndorf.

I live in Queensland and have never been here before, I went to a lovely restaurant for breakfast in Brisbane and got some small little jars to take home, I had some of the blueberry jam on toast and oh my goodness! Absolutely beautiful! If I lived in SA I would be coming here everyday for your delicious jam! I will definitely be buying your jam online, I can’t wait to try the other sample jars I have, absolutely beautiful🩷

If you are ever in Adelaide, this is a must visit location. Perth needs a place like this.
Not only is this little town of Hahndorf the sweetest, but the Beerenberg farm is a stand-out location.
It was very hard not to buy everything as it all is so tasty. The Hahndorf hot mustard is yummy. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The chilli jam has got a good chilli 🌶 punch. And the jams are amazing.
The Devonshire tea with jam samples was amazing.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
For all interstate visitors, if you want to buy more of the delicious jams, sauces, meal sauces, jump on to their website to order.
Can't wait to order my Sri Lanka n fish curry sauce 😋

🍓🌿 Delightful Family Outing🌿🍓
If you're seeking a memorable outing that combines wholesome fun with delicious rewards, look no further than the Beerenberg strawberry farm. Nestled amidst picturesque Hahndorf German village, this farm offers an enchanting experience for families and friends alike. The $5 entry fee is a steal for the joy it brings. 🍓 Abundant, Juicy Strawberries!!! The star of the show, of course, are the strawberries themselves. Shiny, plump, and bursting with flavor, these strawberries are a testament to nature's bounty. At $11.99 per kilo, they're not just affordable but also an excellent value for their quality.
👩🌾 The best part? You get to be a part of the harvest! Pick your own strawberries straight from the bushes, with the freedom to indulge in a few along the way. It's an interactive experience that fosters a deeper connection with the food we eat.
After working up an appetite, head over to the on-site café for a delightful treat. Indulge in creamy, refreshing ice cream that perfectly complements the sweetness of the strawberries. It's the cherry on top of an already perfect outing.
👧👦 can have Kid-Friendly Fun here! our visit to the strawberry farm was an experience to cherish. It's more than just picking strawberries; it's about creating lasting memories with loved ones, savoring the simple joys of life, and appreciating the wonders of nature. We'll definitely be back for more berry bliss!

Beerenberg Farm is one of the oldest family owned jam , condiment and sauce in Australia.
Inside there’s a huge shop and cafe , they also offer a strawberry picking.
Please note that Strawberry picking is only available between November to April , start from 9 am to 4.15 pm.
This farm just one stop away by bus from Hahndorf Village ( German Village). We took a bus from city and it took around 1 hour to reach here.
Worth a visit when you’re around.

What an amazing place with variety of strawberry options. You may have a chocolate ice cream or dip your strawberry in sweet chocolate. Take their jam to your home if you like sweets in the morning. Even their chips taste different.
Thanks 😊

Had a really great time picking strawberries and they were really thick and sweet and great quality. Such a great activity to do with your partner or friend or family. Inside the building they have plenty of great little places inside selling fabulous produce. They have a lovely Cafe and lots of seating areas.

At first we didnt know this place, we stopped by just because we saw so many people picking something. So we stopped by and it was strawberry.
4 of us decided to go in and pick our own strawberry and it was the most sweet strawberry i ever eat. OMG it was really sweet like sweeeeett.
We end up bought 3kg strawberry for $12 per kg. 1 kg finished the same day, the other 1kg was not that sweet after over night. Dunno why. But we will come back again here, they have really nice and helpful staff.

Had an amazing time with my daughter and father strawberry picking last week. $5 entry fee for adults and children under 5 are free than $11.95kg. We went just before Valentine's Day and they had some many amazing red delicious strawberries 🍓
Definitely family friendly activity to do while they are open!!!
Prancing Pony Brewery has quickly become a prominent fixture in the local beer scene despite being only 10 years old. The brewery and restaurant, located just off the beaten path, offer visitors a chance to witness the magic behind their acclaimed fire-brewed ales. Recently relocated to a larger shed at 42 Mount Barker Rd, Totness, Prancing Pony continues to draw attention with its exceptional brews.
Popped in for a beer and some snacks. Cool industrial warehouse style brewery, with a few quirky design choices. Really tasty beer and yummy snacks. Introduced Dad to frickles for the first time!! Chicken was delicious too.
Rachael Angley — Google review
Our first visit to Prancing Pony Brewery promised an atmosphere of relaxation and culinary delights. Eager to sample their offerings, we ordered a variety of dishes, including meatball pasta, chicken tacos, and wings to share.
Unfortunately, the meatball pasta left much to be desired. Its taste was off, reminiscent of being reheated in a microwave, with dry meatballs and overcooked, mushy pasta. The chicken tacos fared slightly better but failed to leave a lasting impression.
The shared chicken wings were deemed average, lacking the wow factor we had hoped for. However, amidst the culinary letdowns, the saving grace of the evening was the Dizzy Donkey cider, a refreshing delight that stood out amidst the mediocrity.
As we washed down our meal with a less-than-pleasant cocktail, we couldn't help but regret our menu choices. The aroma of the pizzas being served to nearby tables only intensified our disappointment, as they appeared to be a more promising option.
In conclusion, while Prancing Pony Brewery offers a relaxed atmosphere and some standout beverages like the Dizzy Donkey cider, the food fell short of expectations. With regrets over our menu selections, we can't help but wonder if opting for the pizzas would have provided a more satisfying dining experience.

Prancing Pony is a beautiful brewery with a soul. They have a range from light and easy drinking to hippy and intense, and variations to satisfy almost every beer lovers palette. The service was friendly and while I didn't order any of the wood fired pizzas they looked very yummy!
Also some cows live right next door.

Went for a look see. Heard plenty about the place but never been before. Plenty of beer on tap. I'm a non drinker but my daughter tried out a few glasses. She enjoyed what was on offer. I tried it all as a sip but did nothing for me. It's nothing flash but I'm sure it would be a hoot and a holler on the night. They have quiz night on Wednesday and other things on given nights. It would be worth exploring. We did not eat there, early afternoon , but saw a few with take away and watched the end of the football between magpies and lions. Close game.

Only had drinks so can't rate the food.
This is my new favorite local beer brand expertly brewed near Hahndorf. Friendly staff will help you through a nice selection of German style beers. I love the Helles beer and the Weisse bier is pretty good too. A special edition minikeg makes a great social addition to a festive gathering.

Great little brewery just out of Hahndorf. We spent about an hour here for some refreshments after a walk and lunch in Hahndorf.
Grabbed some tinnies to take home after a beautiful day in the Adelaide Hills.

Brilliant food, even better beer, fairly priced, get a bunch of mates, order the wings, and enjoy quiz night on a Wednesday.
The apple cider is very good, made with 100% apple juice. The piper is also very nice.
I got to meet the owners a lovely couple who have made a great place for the local community to hang out.

We are tourists from Singapore, and our AirBnb host recommended Prancing Pony as being kid friendly and with good food.
We loved our afternoon 'tea' here. We had pumpkin soup, fries, and fried chicken fingers, all of which were excellent. The pumpkin soup in particular was outstanding - the pumpkin taste shone through, accentuated with a hint of herbs (parsley?), perfect for a cold and rainy winter's day
I loved the Piper West Coast ale as well - wonderfully hoppy with a delightful long bitter finish.
My kids couldn't stop devouring the fries and chicken fingers, both of which were tender inside and remarkably crispy outside.
Finally, service was prompt, professional, efficient, and always cheerful. Even the staff clearing our wiped-out plates did it with a smile. We regret we never got to know their names (feedback - give them some name tags?)
5 stars for sure, and we will recommend it to friends who pass through the area.

Came in today to celebrate 10 years of Prancing Pony. Was a great atmosphere, local radio outside ( games for the children ) Brilliant singer inside ( did not get his name ) Food was very tasty & plentiful. I had the wings for 1 & side of chips, had to bring some home was more than enough. Great beer as always also brought 4 tins home. Hope to be back in the New Year. Usually manage 1/2 a year but definitely more often, got to try the Pizza too

If you're out for some awesome beers and bites, this is definitely the place to be. Superb ambiance with friendly staff for sure. Many varieties of beer are brewed fresh on site. The best one would be the Indian red ale which has an outstanding flavor profile. Other types of beers like Zeppelin, Hopwork Orange and the Piper stand out closely as really good beers are best enjoyed ice cold. Suitable during the sweltering Australian summer. Chicken wings.. hmmm it really is out of this World. Do choose the honey soy or the spicy Buffalo wings. Finger licking good and the best compliment to the beer. There are many more food items on the menu worth trying as well. Pricing is quite reasonable for an awesome experience. Will definitely visit this place again in the near future.

Open-range zoo featuring animals like cheetahs, lions, giraffes & rhinos, with hands-on experiences.
This place has always been amazing and it's gotten even better with the new visitors centre. The food is amazing, the tour guides are fantastic and its just an amazing experience seeing the animals not in small tiny cages like you do at your typical zoos. They are looked after so well.
Laura Anne — Google review
Better to visit in the warmer weather, it's very exposed so getting out and walking in the permitted areas can be chilly if it's windy. Trips are conducted by bus because clearly, as an open range zoo you could end up being lunch for the lions or other carnivores. I was a bit disappointed because the bus was full and with everyone jockeying to get pictures, if the animals were on the opposite of the bus to where one was sitting it because difficult.
Pam Shirley — Google review
Amazing experience from start to end. We did the cheetah experience which also included park entrance. The experience was great, getting up close and personal and learning a lot about how these animals are looked after and the conservation efforts for them.
The park after that was just as good, with easy to navigate facilities and paths and informative guides on the busses and at the animal talks! Excellent all round.

What to say about this beautiful safari experience we had. Definitely once in a lifetime you should visit here. What a beautiful management and lovely staff out there. Without any queue we bought the tickets and went into the beautiful safari bus and we saw so many different animals in this safari

Amazing experience. It's a must go place in Australia🇦🇺. The volunteers were very informative. Safari experience was amazing you can see all the exotic animals in the habitat real close. It's like Jurassic park feel when gates open and close.Only negative thing is wait between the buses.
Overall very nice 👍👏😊.
Rishad tk — Google review
Pretty awesome to see the animals they have there.
I think if you took comfortable shoes and spent the whole day walking to see the animals instead of the bus, you might see the animals more clearly. On the bus they have it's hard to see over people's heads who are in the row over.
On the bus they have a man explaining things about the animals which I found interesting.
The three men who work on the bus were really nice. They even helped with putting my grandson's pram under the bus and taking bk out multiple times.
I enjoyed seeing the monkeys. They have such a big enclosure. It was actually snack time when we went to see them.
You can take your own food and drink as there are picnic tables to sit at if you don't want to buy food there.

This place brought me back to nature with an outstanding trail and wildlife environment. Actually we have 2 options : walking or sitting on the bus. I went on the public holiday so have to be in line for such a long time to wait for the bus in each station because if you choose the trail, there are 3 animals you cannot see. Absolutely will come back next time to enjoy a whole trail and revisit my animal friends.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Which is exactly what you expect from the largest safari park outside of Africa! There are so many different animals, each with a unique story that your tour guide will run you through as you drive through the park. The guides are knowledgeable and you can tell that they truly care about and have gotten to know the animals. We also saw emu's and an echidna walking around the park! This would be an excellent experience for any animal lover.

Great experience. The volunteers were very informative and enthusiastic. Only negative would be the wait between the buses (it was full from few stops so replacement buses had to be sent to pick up the passengers that were left to wait for the buses). Oh and the walking trails not friendly for prams, or any little ones that have only just started walking as it is uneven.

We LOVE the Monarto Safari Park ♥️ Thank you to the staff for all your hard work and efforts in maintaining the park and keeping the animals healthy and happy.
It's a fantastic place for long weekend walks - a unique opportunity to recharge your batteries while enjoying the scenic views and connecting with fauna!
I recommend walking and only take the bus when you need to. If you are not rushing, then consider you'll need 3-4 hours if walking and not making long stops.
There are two cafes but note they close at around 3pm on weekends.

What an amazing day! I HIGHY RECOMMEND doing the animal experiences. We did the rhino, giraffe and 360 lion. Unfortunately the lions didn't come up to the cage but Monarto zoo re booked us and gave us free zoo access. Seeing the animals in large open spaces was fantastic such a great life for them. I'm 1000% going back and do the giraffe experience again! It is worth spending the extra money! Tour of behind public access was good and informative! Can't wait for the 3 elephants to have their new happier lives at Monarto soon and very much looking forward to staying at the still being built Monarto hotel!
A must see for young or old!

Best to go on a day temperature wise, early to mid 20s.
Staff friendly, bus ride gets awesome views of the animals that you can't see from the platforms. Tour guide very knowledgeable.
Only critique is the first place to view was approx 20-30min walk. Should be closer so everyone is not waiting for a bus straight away.

An amazing experience especially if you have kids.
The tour guides are wonderful and explain the animals really well. The bus makes it perfect to get around as its 12km of walking. You can still get off the bus at certain points and back on if needed.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Monarto Zoo. The experience is like going on a safari.
We decided to walk to the outpost and catch a bus from there. The person serving at the outpost was extra slow, and it took over 30 minutes to serve us our hot chips.
Additionally, we recommend extra bus services as the buses were full and we couldn't get onto one. We had to line up at one of the bus stops for over 30 minutes before getting on a bus.

This park is relatively new with alot of potential.
You have a choice to either walk the trails of abt 12kms in total, bus it around or use the stops to your advantage. Courtesy buses run every 10mins from certain areas.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit i decided to trade in my daily pass for an annual pass.
Now i can go back and capture the animals at my leisure.
Worth the visit and the price.

The giraffe feeding and the carnivore display from the zoo keepers were sensational !!

Absolutely beautiful setting. We had booked an early Father's Day lunch last Saturday. We arrived to see a beautiful table prepared outside as requested. The grandchildren were welcomed by all staff. Everything was so clean and superbly presented. The seafood plate and pizzas were really good. The Dulcie sparkling and red blend Tamblyn complimented our food. Eva and her staff did an outstanding job. We will definitely return. One of our group joined the Wine Club while we were there ... he was so impressed with the quality of their wines
... particularly the reds. 5 stars all round. We really felt welcome and our day was made quite special by all at Bremertons.
Tip ... if you book in advance they will do all they can to be ready to welcome you.
David Freestone — Google review
Not dog friendly for those who wish to bring their dog. You can't have your dog at the seated table area outside, only on the lawn, and no barking!!. We weren't alowed to sit on the lawn in the shade with our dog because we were told that we had a table booked, so we had to sit at the table otherwise "walk ins" might think the table is vacant and they are too busy for that. We were also told that the lawn was reserved for another group (the staff yelled at us loudly in front of other customers to MOVE off the lawn because the other group were going to be there soon, no one showed up) This was the plan I overheard the staff saying behind the bar. Even though there was plenty of room, and the kids were happy playing in the shade, we had to move to our seats in the sun without our dog. Not very accommodating.
When standing at the bar to order, I could hear the staff talking loudly about me in an unkind way making me feel awful for even suggesting that we have a nice lunch on the lawn with 6 kids and 3 dogs.
Other customers watched in awe of the situation, and came up to ask if we were actually ok so that says a lot about the treatment from the staff.
We frequent the Langhorne Creek Wine region at least every two months and its not the first time we have been unsatisfied at Bremerton. The other wineries have 5/5 for staff service.

We enjoyed a superb afternoon of wine, gin & food here at Bremerton today. The cellar door area is just lovely, quite a large area all up, with indoor, covered outdoor & lawn options. The staff were all friendly, happy knowledgeable and prompt to serve us. We had the Mediterranean platter, Pâté and a pizza all were so fresh & tasty. They also did a gluten free pizza base with some garlic, oil & salt which was awesome. The Gin flights hit the spot with the ladies and we enjoyed the several wines we tasted (recommend the Sauv Blanc). Would like to have tried more wines but I was designated driver today!, will gladly return.

Probably one of the best known wineries in Langhorne Creek. Their range is incredible, and bespoke wines are amazing. A beautiful outdoor area, which is dog friendly, although we could only do tastings at the bar, so the dog owners remained outside and enjoyed a glass of Sauv in the afternoon sun. Definitely worth another visit!

Our family celebrated an 80th birthday here and we cannot fault the food, staff or setting. From our first enquiry, staff were quick to reply and very open to our requests for taking family pics prior to the meal and bringing in our own cake. The meal was paced out well and all were absolutely delicious. All staff were amazingly attentive and didn’t rush us to finish. Really cool getting to see the paddle boat run from the window in the women’s toot.
Even though my fish looked a bit sad it was still actually very yummy which took me by surprise because I wasn’t sure with how it looked but it was perfect and tasted delicious.
I was a little disappointed that the chives were dried and not fresh because that would have been visually pleasing and it would have added to the flavour more.
But overall a great experience!

It's a nice cruise up and down the Murray with an informative but not incessant commentary.
The lunch exceeded our expectations in quality, flavour and quantity - all efficiently served hot and fresh.

He had a great sense of humour and was very informative of the history of the Murray river and Murray bridge. Had such a good but relaxing time.

The Mrs and me had a great leisurely lunch cruise. The boat and facilities were great and the food and drinks even better. Maybe add some craft beers to the menu eh? The views along the mighty Murray as you cruise by at a slow pace are great to take in, and the informative commentary described a number of interesting facts along the way. Definitely recommend it for a feed and a nice relaxing day out.

Thoroughly enjoyable leisurely cruise along the Murray for Sunday lunch. Very friendly and attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Generous and tasty meals. Interesting commentary.
Highly recommended and good value for money. We'll be back!

Great experience.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The boat was beautiful and well maintained.
Food was like an average pub meal. Nothing special, but everyone finished theirs.
Loved the allocated dining seating. The high chair was available for the baby! And they even made him a meal, thank you.
Overall, it was a great day. I'm very glad we went.

Fantastic. Great boat. Excellent service food delicious. Staff went extra mile to accommodate special dietary needs.
If it is a step back in time you are after. Seeing how Australia was made to what it is today. Seen all the history was a great experience. The history was well presented a must see for all ages. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a great time just walking around have a good look at it all. Well worth the money

If you like old stuff and seeing how people of the past lived you'll enjoy this place. If you're into creative photography you'll like this place. If you're a family looking for entertainment go someplace else to be honest. Costs you $28/adult to go in for a look. I can see that it would have been fantastic at some point but sadly it would seem resources and labour don't permit proper maintenance and the place is deteriorating. A lot of history will soon be lost. It'll be an awesome clearing sale though! Go see it while it survives. Its elderly owner is doing what he can.

It wasn’t too busy or crowded when we stopped by so we didn’t have to wait to enter, although there was a school bus touring and only several others so it wasn’t overly crowded so we got space and time to thoroughly explore the village.
Give yourself at least 2 hours to get through the whole village and soak in all the information.
If you’re a bad hay-fever sufferer ensure to take your antihistamines beforehand.
We didn’t book in advance and paid $60 entry fee for a family (4) that included coffee and cake with an adult entrance. We did a self tour, no time limey, however if you’re wanted a guided tour, book in advance.
Bring your own backpack with drinks & snacks recommended if you have younger kids for the duration of time to explore the grounds.

What a place, please, everyone, you have to support this place as it will close down if we don't. So many interesting things to see, I didn't put half my photos on as I had to leave something as a surprise when you go there. If you have a tiny waistline, you can hire the outfits for $5.00 that they used to were in that era. There is tea and coffee and biscuits for sale and reasonable priced souvenirs for sale.
If you like my ratings, please follow me.

This place is one of a kind in SA, curating all sorts of history and allowing close up inspection / interaction with artefacts.
Unfortunately, it is in a state of decline, with countless rotten wood features, broken glass, termite damage, trip hazards, and spiders nests. Visit while you can, I'd expect it to be bulldozed within 20 years as restoration would cost a huge amount.
It was about 60% run-down exhibits and 40% junk.
A bit costly at $60/family for what you get.

My toddler and I loved it here and spent a good 3 hrs soaking it all in. My son was particularly interested in the old vehicles. We stopped in the old hall for a snack break too. I'm keen to go back next time I'm up that way.

For my wife & I this was our second visit to this Pioneer Village. It has grown in size since then & still a great display of how life was in the 1800 & 1900’s. In my opinion it’s a bit expensive for what’s there & disappointing it hasn’t been upgraded to accomodate wheelchair access & in fact anyone with bad knees etc will struggle to view a number of the buildings on display, with some paths presenting challengers. If they had Light & Sound displays similar to Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement & Ballarats Sovereign Hill to really bring the place to life would improve it immensely.
I still really enjoy this place & recommend it but it does need a few changers to make it sensational.

Great place to walk and around and check out history and how life once was.
Great selection of old buildings, vehicles, machinery and much much more. Well over 100 buildings with a lot accessible. Easily spent 3 hours soaking it all in, owner is lovely and loves a good chat.

Another one of them places we have driven past for years, and decided we might have a look,
We were not left disappointed, place is busting at the seams with old time memorabilia, if you like spending hours walking through places looking at they history of the area, old cars, trucks, etc, this place is a must.
Churches, barns, houses, dentist, doctors, bakery, mechanics, fire station, police station, cemetery,
Trains are just a few out of 100+ shops/houses etc from yesteryear
Well worth the stop, alow 2-4 hours,

Absolutely love this place! I used to go as a child and now I bring my own children here. They loved the old buildings, history and had fun exploring.
The people who run the place have been there since day 1!!!!
Unique and one of a kind!!!
The donations of buildings and items shows amazing community unity and they are always updating some of them with a fresh bit of paint etc.

While driving towards Adelaide saw in passing expected it to be old vehicle collection. On our return once again saw it pass by but decided to turn back and it was the right decision.
It's amazing recreation of an old town by brining in different old structures from various parts of the country. The recreation was not only structures but also the interiors to create realtime experience of those years. The collection was not limited to structures but the crockery, artifacts, furniture, appliances, vehicles, teams, train coaches and so on including a cemetery. Noel, caretaker and creator of the town was very enthusiastic, he provided information, and history and what one should not miss while walking around.
Overall an unforgettable experience and time we'll spent. Thanks to Noel & Peter.

Amazing Pioneer Town with streets and buildings furnished appropriately to the era. Period music plays as you wander round which adds to the atmosphere. Buildings and contents sourced from all over Australia and brought together to create this experience by the owner Peter Squires who graciously and proudly gave us a short tour as the attraction was about to close when we arrived. Well worth a visit and could easily spend couple of hours exploring.

Take the time to stop and call in, there's such an amazing collection of Australian history there. We spent 5 hours strolling around, don't forget to bring your lunch! I loved the old dance hall and the hotel, the buildings are original and have been moved to the village for your enjoyment. The railway signals and fire engine collection are incredible, not to mention the wooden speedboat collection, the facinating engines, an old Glenelg tram and the iconic Balfours pie cart!!

Such a good collection of antiques slowly going to ruin :( . It's a good place but has so much more potential to be something terrific it would be great to see someone or something step in and fund it's revival . Could easily be as good as a sovereign hill the basics are all there .

A great day out at Old Tailem Town today. So much history & can't begin to imagine how many years it has taken the owners to build/create and collect so many pieces from the past for everyone to enjoy. Unique, that’s the fitting word. Absolutely interesting to see all the tools and the lifestyle decades ago !
Could also imagine visiting this place for the nighttour, it‘s definitely haunting
Just went today and little bit dry out. Its a nice scenary and worth to stop for a while. Its difficult to take a picture to refect the pink color of the lake but you can enjoy from your eyes. A good stop along the way to Adelaide!
KYTwins — Google review
The lake wasn't pink due to lack of water. However, it was nice to appreciate nature.
Irene Tan — Google review
Well, it wasn’t pink. Guess we were too late into the summer when we visited. A month earlier would’ve seen some water, which I guess gives the lake its bright pink colour. The water had evaporated when we visited on Jan 20th.
We walked about 200 meters from the road onto the dry lake bed to try to get a good picture, but the soil was pretty damp, so our shoes got really messy. 🙂
There’s very little side-of-the-road parking. Probably for 4-5 cars only. Be careful while getting back on the road since cars are going really fast there and you’ll need to pick up speed really quickly to keep the flow of traffic going.
The drive’s pleasant if the weather’s good.
Rahul Rao — Google review
It's a lake with a pink hue. Pretty far back from the road atm and very thick and sticky mud underfoot this time of year, so probably not worth stopping until it's a bit warmer and the blooms are in full force.
Safely pull off the road on either side, signs saying no vehicles are saying "don't drive past this point" (Don't drive into the mud) not 'don't stop here' lol
James Armstrong — Google review
Pink lake was almost dried up when we stopped by. Still looks light pink, we wanted to get closer to the lake but it was muddy and smelly. Have a water to wash ur shoes.

Pink Lake (historically known as Lake Lochiel) is a small, circular, salty pink lake on the Western Highway just north of Dimboola in Australia. Granville Stapylton, part of the explorer Thomas Mitchell's 1836 expedition into western Victoria, reconnoitered Pink Lake on 20 July 1836.
Location in Victoria
Location Dimboola, Victoria Coordinates 36°25′05″S 141°57′40″E
Type Salt lake Basin
countries Australia
Max. length 2 km (1 mi)
Max. width 2 km (1 mi)
Surface area 45 ha (111 acres)
Surface elevation 250 m (820 ft)
The lake received its name from its distinctive pink colour. The brightness of the hue varies according to the level of rainfall. Until recently it was assumed that red algae created the pink hue; however, recent research reported by Australian Geographic describes the colour as result of a pigment produced by the Salinibacter ruber bacteria. A rest-stop overlooks the lake's basin.
Salt has been harvested from the lake since the 1860s and on average 20 tonnes a year are harvested by the Mount Zero Olive company working in conjunction with the Barengi Gadjin Land Council. Commercial harvesting stopped in the 1970s but was resumed after negotiations between the Victorian State government, the Barengi Gadjin Land Council and the Mount Zero Olive Company in 2009.

Great place to see some natural wonders in our own South Australian outback. Unfortunately it was dry when we'd visited in early January but still the lake bed was pink enough to enjoy
Ish Ahmed — Google review
Passing by on April 25th,
despite its pink signboard, I would still consider it a fake and not as pink as expected
袁明玥 — Google review
Easy to stop and look at the lake as you're driving into the Coorong. The water level seems pretty low at the moment, but still has a good pink colour. It's hard to take a photo of the pink lake because it's so flat, it's much better in person than the photos. Walking on the salt is fun, just be prepared to get your feet wet. I was fine in hiking boots.
Sad to see that people have left toilet paper, wipes and tissues scattered along the carpark. They take years to disintegrate and really spoil the environment.
Hannah B — Google review
Passing by the Pink Lake, the water appears somewhat pink under the evening sunlight. It's likely even more stunning on a sunny summer day. There isn't a large parking area here, so it's a good idea to slow down and prepare for parking in advance.

It was dried when i visited! It was good experience cause we were able to walk on it! It is really a nice peachy pink!
Ramla ANF — Google review
Beautiful Natural phenomenon - note : the lake appears true pink if it's clear skies and if the water is but more than your ankle height.
On the day we visited it was passing clouds and water level was quite low - even then look the photos for the beauty it beholds !
Guys, don't forget to collect some salt while you are there - it's the best :)

Today’s weather is not very well, and there are not much water in the lake, you can see the pink color with eyes but not very clear

Beautiful silo art in this rural SA town. Amble parking and possible to get great pictures from many angles.
The bakery down the street serves good coffee and pies, and there's public toilets too. Get here early on weekends before the caravans pulls up. It tends to get a little crowded.

Coonalpyn Silo Mural
Visited on 20/6/2019
After leaving Victor Harbor, we arrive at the site of the silos. We park across the road where the Coolnalpyn Uniting Church is, although there is a large dedicated parking area on the same side of the road as the silo.
These 30-metre silos belong to Viterra, and are fully operational. There are 10 silos, arranged in two rows.
They are painted in white, and used as the canvas for the large murals. The aim for the mural project is about "rural renewal through the arts"
The gigantic paintings depict five Coonalpyn Primary School children in various poses.
This is the first time I come across silo art. In my future adventure, I shall make an effort to visit other silo art sites.
Sin Fong Chan — Google review
Very, very impressive silo art and overall an accommodating rest stop. Collectors like me and most other visitors enjoy taking photos as well as just admiring them, so could the people who plan everything, try to not to have 101 bits and pieces in the way so we can get a clean shot? A rubbish bin, a wifi sign, a P sign, 2 "no entry" signs, a "no standing" sign, a pedestrian crossing sign and a "Proud supporter" sign !!!! I know its Street Art and all, but this is an indicator that people just don't think.

Silo Art I hadn’t seen before so a lovely surprise. Pictures of local school children. Town had a real sense of community. Only issue is why do they have big signs blocking some of the art. Apart from that it is wonderful

Brilliant. Lovely bush farm setting. Very spacious sites so it feels like you have the place to yourself, looking out over paddocks and bush.

Fantastic accommodation for families. Lovely hosts and facilities. Highly recommended staying here which had all the amenities. Highlight was having the wide open space for the children to safely roam and explore the animals. I don't know why we hadn't considered farm stays earlier. We used this as our getaway and to break up the Adelaide-Melbourne route.

The Naracoorte Caves National Park, located about 10km southeast of Naracoorte, is a World Heritage-listed site containing limestone caves that have preserved the fossilized remains of trapped animals for over 800,000 years. These caves feature unique stalactite and stalagmite formations and are home to 28 different limestone caves including Alexandra Cave, Stick-Tomato Cave and Victoria Fossil Cave.
Such a good experience. Did the guided tour for the Alexandra cave and just amazing! The effort the keep these cave preserved is a credit to the park.

We had the pleasure of a cave tour with Frank and it was an absolute delight! He is truly one of the best tour guides we have ever had. Frank is incredibly passionate about the history and sustainability of the caves and it showed in the way he shared his knowledge with us. He was able to make even the most mundane facts interesting and engaging.
But what really stood out was his sense of humor. He had us laughing from start to finish and made the tour so much more enjoyable. He was able to balance the fun and the serious aspects of the tour perfectly. He was also very attentive to our needs and made sure we were safe and comfortable at all times.
Overall, we felt very lucky to have him as our tour guide. He made the experience so much more memorable and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, passionate, and funny tour guide. This is a World Heritage Site. Well worth a visit. You can only access one cave without a guide. Tours are at 11.30 and 2.30 I believe. I would book a tour with a guide as they are very knowledgeable.

Lovely Winery, good tasting choices.
One of my top 10 favourite red wines, Black Label Cab/Sav and Shiraz are great value wines. Good mid term cellar potential as well.
You can become a member online and purchase direct, specials sometimes are better than Uncle Dans or other large liquor shops and they do free delivery as well, subject to purchase limit.
If you happen to be around the area give the folks at Wynns a try.

I have been a fan of Wynn's Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon for years. This is the first time I've visited the cellar door.
The tasting has a fee which is waived if you buy a bottle from the range you are tasting from. Ebony was a very hospitable host, going in depth into each wine she poured for me. I appreciated the background and the opportunity to get close to the very first vintage of my favourite Cabernet Sauvignon.
Thanks Ebony!

An iconic feature of the Coonawarra area, Wynns proved the limestone area would produce excellent quality wines.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Wynns Cellar Door in Coonawarra. It was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped through the charming entrance to the last lingering taste on our palates, every detail was crafted to perfection, as were the wines curated to a luxurious experience.
The knowledgeable and passionate staff added an extra layer to our visit. From the moment we walked in, they guided us through the extensive selection of wines with genuine enthusiasm. Their expertise was evident, as they shared insightful information about each varietal, making our tasting experience not only enjoyable but also educational.
One highlight of our visit was the personalized attention we received. The staff took the time to understand our preferences and tailored the tasting experience accordingly. It felt like a truly bespoke journey through the vineyard's finest offerings, leaving us with a profound appreciation for the artistry behind each bottle.
The ambiance, the wines, and the hospitality all culminated in an unforgettable experience. As we left, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to savor such exceptional wines in such a picturesque setting.
If you're a wine enthusiast or someone seeking a memorable outing, Wynns Coonawarra Estate is an absolute gem that deserves every one of its five stars. We'll undoubtedly be returning to indulge in the magic of their cellar door again soon.

Visited here last weekend and did the advanced wine tasting in a group of 4. Absolutely divine experience - Hannah took us through all of the history and the wine tasting and was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly! She absolutely made our trip to Wynns memorable and took us through the cellar.

Super friendly and helpful staff.
The old vines Shiraz are smooth and balanced, I bought a bottle of Shiraz 2013 and also order the same one online for my friend in Taiwan as a gift😇

We had the pleasure and luck of join for a tasting on New Years day. What a way to start the year. Whilst it seemed every person passing through Coonawarra was at Wynns – they staff we just as sensational as the Wines. We particularly loved the extra time and special attention from the team, who showed us a few extra wines – that are rarely available, whilst delivery and very informative tasting session.
We purchased 3 of the Luxury Packs (all premium and limited Reds – yum!) and can highly recommend the Pedro Ximénez for some special occasions.
Great wines, great team, great times!

Sensational. Thank you for the great experience. Just $30 to taste some of Australia's best, premium, award winning and exclusive wines. Best of all - if you buy 2 bottles from the tasting options, then you don't have to pay for the tasting fee.
Great knowledgable staff and ambiance. Will be back to see you again soon.
What can I say…
Driving down the driveway when the vineyard is turning the shade of the sunset…
Arriving at the cute cellar door and being greeted by a lovely lady who was super attentive and full of knowledge about not only Katnook wines but the surrounding region.
We were able to try all the wines and were also made a beautiful cheese platter for our family.
All the wines were unique and delicious!
We have been travelling around Australia for 2 years and this would have have to be one the best experiences at a winery that we have had.
P.S the previous review from the “wine professional” - what a flog!

Stopped here while driving through The region. The wine was good and we ended up purchasing as well. However, wouldn’t say we were welcomed with a smile. The lady seemed unfriendly and said there weren’t seats for children. Basically wanted us to leave the minute we stepped in. Good wines- poor hospitality!

Great experience trying wines and an excellent cheese board! Probably the best Shiraz we tried in the region (the estate).

Not worth a visit.. their icon wines are not available for tasting. The premium wines were average at best, nothing special. I am a wine professional, and the lady giving the tasting told us first thing she is actually a school teacher. The vibe was odd. She offered me to taste wine I was only interested in 2 of their wines (and the icons which I didn't get to taste). I wasn't impressed with her or the wines so after being there within 5 min I was gonna leave. Trying to walk out the door she says we charge $10 tasting fee!! Which was first of all not communicated since she offered the wine to taste. second, I only had 2 tiny tasting glasses. Everywhere else in the region, I tasted way more for free so it came unexpected. But all fine, I paid, but the way it all went down had us leaving with a very bad taste in our mouth. It's our least favourite visit in the region, not worth it, disappointing.

Went there for paid wine testing experience. While arrangements were made nicely, but explaining each wine details were not good. Wine were poured beforehand rather than giving experience per wine flavour. Cheese platter was bad. Mentioned local cheese but was provided only one cheese. There was rush from staff to complete the testing quickly despite no other guest in queue. Overall very disappointed.

Katnook has been my spiritual home for Coonawarra Cab Sav after I was introduced to Odessey about 20 years ago and I have been a happy consumer ever since. It was amazing to finally get out to the winery in person and my wife and I had a sensational experience on Sunday 29th. Andrea was a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome. The wines and the local produce platter were amazing. As was finding some new drops to take home that I wasn’t previously aware of. We cannot wait to return

Had not heard of Katnook Estate before, but we had Naomi review our wines with the platter for two. We learned a lot with what was a very personal and professional presentation. Well done crew and especially Naomi, your passion for your job was obvious. A wonderful experience and a delightful history lesson (and I'm not usually into history) but this was an exception. We would definitely recommend you to all our friends.
P.S. loved the wooded Chardonnay & Sav.Blanc, & the platter was magnificent. Dave & Sue, Victoria

An absolute gem in Coonawarra! My family and I did the chocolate and wine tasting which came with 4 wonderful pairings. The wine and chocolate alone were great, but our guide/host, Naomi, made this an unforgettable experience. She was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to talk to. We can't wait to come back!

Great tour of the wet caves! $15.00 entry and 30min tour. Great tour guide and very informative tour. You hear the whole history of how they were founded. These were the first caves wheelchair accessible in Australia. Awesome experience!!!

Definitely worth a visit!! For people like me, that have mobility issues, this is a must....it is one of a few caves Australia wide that are wheelchair accessible, so definitely put it on your bucket list! For those that enjoy a short hike, there is the clifftop loop trail which is about 500m long, mostly single file, but has sections that are challenging to climb. The caves themselves are stunning, well lit up, with clear designated paths. There are toilet facilities here, with the disabled one set in the side of the hill, the first I have seen like this! All facilities are extremely clean. Whilst there are no bbqs available, there are several picnic tables and seating spotted around the park. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable, providing a well informed tour. If I could give it more stars I would!

I arrived ten minutes late for my pre booked tour but the very friendly and well informed guide was still waiting for me at reception. From the moment she opened the door this spectacular cave hit me straight in the face with its amazing beauty. This is my favourite and I feel the most visually spectacular of all the caves in the area. It’s a small cave but well worth spending the time to look at all the details. The friendly guide explained the history and formations and even had a piece of broken off stalactite to show and handle.
When the tour is over there is an easy walk up over the cliff top of the cave formation with great views. Overall I really loved this tour and will drop in every time I pass by from now on. Is great value for money.

Fantastic caves and only 30 m deep. Wheelchair friendly paths. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Plenty of geological features in this compact cave, even got to see a cave spider and a cave cricket unfortunately they are fine limbed creatures and blend in the cave rocks so you have to be lucky or have a great camera to get a decent photo.
Kerry Ho — Google review
Definitely one of the most beautifully impressive caves in the region. The amount of sparkling stalactites and stalagmites throughout the chamber makes it almost feel as if you were in a dream, not reality. Worth going for the awesome photo opportunities alone. We were able to book online the day before to save time and were welcomed by our guide and taken to the cave promptly at 10 o'clock for the first tour. Our guide (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) was a lovely, quiet and very knowledgeable lady who told us a brief history of the cave before allowing us to explore the relatively small but very intricate chamber for ourselves. It truly is an amazing site to behold. A decent amount of souvenirs including some very reasonably priced crystals available back in the reception area. Good toilet block just adjacent to entrance. The 500m walk is definitely worth doing if you are able although may be a struggle for those with very young children or conditions of an arthritic nature. Overall Tantanoola Cave makes for a great outing and is an absolute must see if you are in the area.

Good if you're passing through....
Expensive considering the 'tour' is extremely brief. Cave is very small and whole experience and visit is over in 20 - 30 mins. Has toilets on site but no refreshments and nothing in the immediate vicinity. Kids would be pretty underwhelmed and might only entertain them for 15 minutes. Not something I'm likely to recommend to others .

A remarkable geological wonder that transports you through time & ranking among the most decorative caves in South Australia ⛰️
Externally, it might not seem like much, but you'll be pleasantly surprised by the abundance of offerings inside!
It's fascinating to consider that in the 1930s, a young boy stumbled upon this discovery while using his ferret to chase rabbits

1000% wow. A must. What a magical place. What a story. Makes you really appreciate nature and the natural world we live in. Perfect for wheel chairs too if needed. Don’t be expecting a massive underground walk, with not much to see. Expect to stand there for the entire time mesmerised in the beauty.
A huge sinkhole stands at the center of this landscaped garden with seasonal events.
Amazing.
The Cave Garden located within the middle of the town was a treat to be able to take a short stroll down and have a look.
It is an easy climb down as it is just all paved and straight forward in getting to. There are multiple informational displays for you to read and learn a bit about how this sinkhole was formed.
A must see with the family.

What a nice little walk around the gardens and down to the cave,it's a small cave but worth a look. It'd be better if the council kept the bottom area clean but worth a look. There was a bees nest on one side but seemed safe enough being there.

The place is in the center, surrounded by beautifully blooming gardens meticulously planted along the walking path. Intrigued, I went down to explore what was there—a way to showcase these small yet beautiful hidden attractions. The view is stunning. Despite its modest size, the presence of a wishful well and a charming garden around it made the place even more enjoyable.

Well, giving it a 5 stars for the hole it created millions of years ago. Need to wait for the rain to see the waterfall into the deep end, the brochure enticed me to go there, but when I was there, it's sunny and hot, I can see garbage down under. A quick note. The cave is in the city. So finding a car park can be tricky. Also, the building located beside the cave is the Civic centre. So if you want to know more about the Cave and Mount Gambier, head in to watch the documentary about it.

The place is in the heart of the centre. I wish I could go down to check what's there. But all good. Small place. Beautiful way to present this hidden secret attraction. If you are lucky, you will see the water is coming down. That's a beautiful scenery. But be mindful the place is very small, so keep a list of next place to visit.

The cave gardens is a nice little park behind the Mt. Gambier city town hall.
The cave is definitely fascinating. Such a shame that vandals gave thrown in supermarket trolleys, bottles, used glasses and good knows what else.

I love all the roses that blooms in this garden <3 There’s no access to the cave but seeing it from the top is better than enough.

This sinkhole garden in the centre of the town was disappointing. We had expected more. There is a viewing platform at the top and a walkway with steps to another viewing platform halfway down into the sinkhole. The waterfall was dry. Unfortunately there was rubbish littered at the bottom, including a shopping trolley. The entire area appeared neglected. It's worth a brief look, if you happen to be passing by, although parking is an issue. The garden would probably be more spectacular at night when there are coloured lights in the gardens and a light show on a nearby wall.

Located in the heart of Mt Gambier. Makes you realise the whole area is prone to sinkholes with one here! We walked around before grabbing dinner. It's so neat to have this here and accessible to the public, even though you can't go all the way down.

This hidden gem is nestled in the heart of the city center. I yearn to venture downstairs and uncover its secrets, but for now, it remains a well-kept, intimate sanctuary. The presentation of this locale is nothing short of exquisite. With luck, you might catch a glimpse of the gently cascading water, a sight of pure beauty. However, it's worth noting that the space is rather petite, so be sure to have a list of your next destinations at the ready.

Rose garden at the top is nice. But the sinkhole is really sad. No water flowing at the moment and lots of rubbish inside the cave, including 3 or 4 shopping trolleys. Garden looking pretty dead too. Could be beautiful but sadly we just wanted to get out of there.
Charlotte L — Google review
The cave garden is always healthy and lush on every occasion I've visited. My most recent visit, however, I couldn't help but notice that the grassed areas were a little worn from people walking all over it rather than sticking to the paths and apparently, signage was optional for some people about no dogs in the garden. Possums reside in the garden and are a regular visitor at night.
Dawn Harvie — Google review
Hard place to rate as it's beautiful except for the rubbish everyone leaves there. Talking to local's that care who say that you can clean it today and grubs will throw rubbish back down tomorrow. Could be such a beautiful place. Well worth visiting anyway.

The Cave Garden is in the heart of Mt Gambier. It's a beautiful Rose Garden around a big sink hole . Interestingly, to know that it was the original source of water for the early settlers to Mt. Gambier.
One of the major tourist attractions in Mount Gambier is the Blue Lake, a volcanic crater lake that takes on a deep blue color during the summer months between December and March. The lake's incredible blue hue is believed to be caused by calcite crystals suspended in the water that form at a faster rate during warmer weather. This stunning natural phenomenon draws visitors from all over the world who come to hike around its looping trail and take in breathtaking views from various lookouts.
Beautiful place. Its so blue. There are a few different lookouts around the lake. We visited it twice, the morning view with sunshine is more beautiful. Can be windy.

The best time to walk around the lake or take photos is during sunrise or sunset. The surface of the lake is often still and perfectly mirrors the sky above. The walk itself is fairly easy with paved path the whole way around with lookouts dotted practically every quarter of the journey

Amazing, beautiful volcanic crater Blue lake, located in the south side of Mt Gambier town in South Australia, is renowned for it's blue colour, which changes with the seasons. It's one of Mt Gambier's main attraction, this lake is also a source of water supply to this town. The water is filtered through the limestone layer which lies underneath the town, it's water quality is high, requiring only minimal treatment before being released for use.
There are several lookout point around the lake providing good views, a must-visit location when in South Australia

Full lap around took a little over an hour with plenty of exploring and stops along the way.
Fully paved footpaths all the way around and car parking adjacent each lookout. No way to get lost - the path is clear.
Fabulous view and easy walk with just a couple of hills.
Created in 1886, this sunken garden includes viewing platforms, benches, sculptures & walking paths.

This truly is a wonderful place to visit. Nature created the sinkhole & man has nurtured it to create a spectacular garden which cannot be missed. Watch closely on the steps heading down & you may see some possums walking along the wall edges. For this reason, understandably, no pets allowed in the sinkhole. Very busy when we went because a wedding was beginning and guests were beginning to pour in. The noise from the drone buzzing around for the wedding was super annoying & spoilt the tranquility of the garden. That aside, it's a place that must not be missed!

As a Mount Gambier local, I never really go out and explore what the town has to offer, but when we had relatives come down here for a holiday, we decided to go here.
The Umpherston Sinkhole feels quite surreal both from the top view looking down, and the bottom view looking up. The sounds are very relaxing from birds chirping to water trickling and trees swaying.
This place very well represents Mount Gambier and is probably the best spot to visit if you're a tourist, the Cave Gardens being a close 2nd in my opinion.
Don't be alarmed about the bee hives towards the back, they are very used to having people around and as long as you don't aggressively scare them, they'll leave you alone. If you're still worried, the bees only stick to one small part of the sinkhole, so you can just stay away from them.
The structures and signs are very interesting to look at, and tell a lot about the town's history. There is also a sign with a map, but I've added it to the images below so that you can use it while on the go.
In short, this is a quintessential tourist attraction if you're visiting, so make sure to check it out!

Such a tranquil and beautiful place with gorgeous lawns and facilities surrounding the sinkhole! So glad we were able to visit twice while staying in Mt Gambier. Umpherston Sinkhole is a truly spectacular and beautiful cave garden. There's convenient parking next to the park, making it easy to access. This is a beautiful place of geological wonder. You can take nice photos here. Our kids enjoyed running around exploring the nooks and crannies with a beautiful backdrop of ferns and flowers. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area or passing by.
Limestone cave in Lower Glenelg National Park with tours of its long stalagmites & stalactites.
You will truly enjoy the Princess Margaret Rose Caves. Even though the caves are closed, it is still worth the trip and the walk. Don't be shy. Love the Best journey ever, if you want to explore some more!

Closed but VIC Parks have taken over the campground. The camping is great but the toilets are a long walk, feels odd because it's all closed down, the camping fees were a little rip off due to the facility's issue

Hidden gem in the Nelson area. Shouldn't miss this cave.

Caves are closed and by the look of the office , permanently. We did go on the treks there but they’re not being attended to either and it was a real big disappointment. Was kind of a wasted time really . Could’ve done some other touristy thing.

This review is not about the place itself, which we could not visit, but rather its management - or lack of it. We drove there from Cape Bridgewater, only to find out the place was closed. Nowhere we saw any warnings of it.

Despite the caves being closed, this place is worth a visit to do the walking trail. There is the shorter one to view points on along the river but if you go further there is the 5km loop to Lasletts. Do it all the way to Lasletts camp ground with great views of the Glenelg River, it's definitely worth it😊

This place used to be bustling tourist hot spot , what is left is a abandoned disgrace run down buildings typical of Parks Victoria , damaged signs/ over grown tracks / paint pealing off everything , looks like they just up and left …….
Highly recommend NOT visiting this spot 👎

Princess Margaret Rose Cave is a beautiful little gem set in the Glenelg National Park Victoria, just across the South Australian border. I enjoyed the tour & learning about the formations, the history & how the cave was found. If you’re up for it there is a lovely hike near the caves with breathtaking views of the Glenelg River.
There is a tourist shop at the entrance where you can buy gifts but be warned, the stubby holders are $16! I was stung on the way out as there are no prices on them but I know the money goes to the parks so can’t complain too much.
All in all well worth a look.

Great day and a great adventure , very pretty place . It’s the same as other lime caves but a very enjoyable experience, on arrival you pay your money and walk down a large set of steps to the underground line caves. I suppose it’s very similar to other line caves but it is still very pretty and worth a look

It's the State of Victoria alright. This place has been totally abandoned. It's disgusting but typical of Parks Victoria.
MacKenzie Falls is a popular destination within The Grampians, about 25 minutes' drive from Halls Gap. It offers stunning lookout points like the Broken Falls Lookout and a refreshing walk to Fish Falls. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Reeds Lookout and Balconies. While swimming is not allowed at the falls, an observation deck provides a great vantage point for enjoying the cascading water.
Good place specially for family in summer and also have Steep walk with lots of steps. For fat people a little be hard to down and up and The signage says no swimming at waterfall (there's no phone signal at the bottom if there's an accident). We dipped our feet and hats in further along the path which was refreshing. A great walk.
Welayat Hussain — Google review
Absolutely stunning and only a small walk to see the main waterfall. If going to the lookout go left, the sign has been a stolen so can’t see and would lead you on a big loop otherwise. The actually waterfall is a steep but moderate climb, the views are certainly worth. There was a rock slide so some access cut off but can still do the massive walk to fish falls
Adam Chiarieri — Google review
Just 550mts walk down the hill to this amazing waterfall. The walk is easy while getting down and while climbing its a bit heavy ( not much - climbing strais).
Its good for a swim down at falls or you can just sit and watch the water running giving a calmer experience.
Good to carry a extra pair of clothes if you change your mind for a quick swim.

Haven't been here for 20 years! So much better in many ways. The paths are great and signage informative. The falls are their usual brilliant selves. Mid march and still flowing well. And yes we can confirm 260 steps to the bottom of the falls. Easy down but a struggle up. Lookouts were well placed.
RetiredAussies — Google review
Bit of a walk down the falls. Lookout points are accessible. Bottom of the waterfall has amazing views and the walk down the falls is wanderful, totally worth it.
Fun Fact : Largest waterfall in Victoria State

Incredible spot. Great views from the first look out above the falls. then a nice easy walk around to the look at that faces the waterfalls. Well worth doing. Then if you have the energy you must walk down the stairs to get to the bottom of the falls for the best view of the falls. Allow plenty of time to explore.
One time in the carpet we were greeted by a kangaroo. Another time an emu.

I experienced the majesty of Mackenzie Falls, and I still find myself thinking about it.
The hike down offers stunning glimpses of the falls, building anticipation for the main event.
Once at the bottom, the sheer power and cascading beauty left me speechless. If you love nature, this is a must-visit in Victoria!

Spectacular falls! Steep walk with lots of steps. The signage says no swimming at waterfall (there's no phone signal at the bottom if there's an accident). We dipped our feet and hats in further along the path which was refreshing. A great walk.
Chris Martignago — Google review
Can we feel how majestic this waterfall is! One of the largest in Victoria. Ya but you have to walk like 2km with return and you'll need to trek down 260 narrow steps to reach the base of the falls, so be prepared for a difficult climb back to the top.
You can go to Fish fall from here but I’ll suggest to from Zumsteins picnic area & Historical site, more easier.
Ummay Safa — Google review
This place is one of the highlights here in Grampians. I love the rainbow on the falls on a hot day. Easy to go down but the climbing back was tough.
The place has well maintained toilets that will refresh you after a hot day of hiking.
Leouel Jr Santos (Eleos Travel) — Google review
I recently visited the falls, and I was truly captivated by the mesmerizing water flow. The entire place exudes beauty and is a fantastic destination for a family outing. However, it's essential to be prepared for a bit of physical activity, as you'll need to descend and climb back up. It's wise to bring water or energy drinks, especially if you're traveling with kids.
I visited during a public holiday, and the crowd was quite significant. Nevertheless, the area outside the falls makes for a delightful picnic spot. There are comfortable seating options available, and you can also enjoy your meal under the refreshing shade of the trees.

The waterfall is really beautiful as you have to walk about 15 minutes down from the parking to reach this beautiful waterfall. The track might get slippery and the weather might be windy so proper outfit is recommended. Loved the beautiful waterfall as we took lots of photos for memories.

Such a beautiful waterfall!! Great walk down and good exercise back up 😀. Highly recommend a stop if you're around the area.

Beautiful area. Rushing water, a rainbow, and q blue sky!
I recommend walking down the bottom of the stairs as there's another great walk with river views toward the Zumstein picnic area.
The stairs can get pretty steep so make sure you hold the rail.
Plenty of parking, and restrooms.
Hayden McLachlan — Google review
Probably the most well-known waterfall in the Grampians, but is only accessible up close by descending down a long flight of steps into the gorge. There is another lookout on top of the gorge which offers more distant views and is at the end of a short flat walk from the car park, which itself is just a short drive off Mt Victory Road. It's quite popular so you will probably have to share the place with many others, unless you come early. There is a track which follows the gorge downstream and is less popular.
Rodney Avery — Google review
pretty little waterfall. nothing too spectacular, but the water spray put up a nice rainbow for us. the overhanging sandstone cliffs were stunning and formidable.
came as a tour so the stairs were pretty clustered at one point in time at the bottom of the mackenzie falls. stairs are pretty high on the way up/down too, so not for those with knee problems.
Yu Qing — Google review
About 25 mins drive from Halls gap and this is what awaits you. The place is one of my favourite place to visit while in Grampians. Beautiful place with great lookout points like Broken falls lookout which is about 180m walk from main entrance point. See photos for views from these points.
On the way you can visit Reeds lookout and Balconies, which is a bonus. Once you visit the falls, the trail leads further 2kms to reach fish falls. If you have time and energy, it’s a walk worth giving a try.
A bit of steep steps as you approach the falls, not recommended for people with joint issues. And slippery surface as well. Be extra careful no matter how good your shoes are.
Toilets and ample parking available. Weather can be teasingly wet, with slight drizzle and sunny. People with pram, might have to leave it in your car boot.

A beautiful place to go see, worth the drive from Mount Gambier. Dogs are welcome but must stay on their lead. An easy path to get to and viewing platform that wheelchairs and prams can go too. There's long drop toilets there, including a wheelchair access toilet. There's shelter and bbq areas as well as easy ample parking. Free place to visit.

Worth a visit.
The rock formation/layers that produced the overhang is so interesting.
Plus it's a waterfall... how can you go wrong (ok... if there is a drought and it hasn't rained, that could be a problem).
Peter Cornell — Google review
Beautiful area to view but the facilities, namely toilets are drop toilets in a building that is infested with spiders, the toilets clearly aren't cleaned with any regularity so the smell and the appearance as beyond disgusting.
It's far enough out the families should use the rest room before they leave, the elderly and children should take particular care.

Despite not being the volume of water previously seen in the last 12 months the falls were an absolute surprise given the rolling countryside. Take the 5 minute detour and the 2 minute walk and see an awesome falls.

Phenomenal falls to view... these and Nigretta Falls are both beautiful and easy to get to, with the viewing platforms being a few steps from the car parks. Highly recommend... maybe its because of all the rain lately, but both falls were full on - absolutely beautiful!

I just want to reiterate that changing timber seats for aluminium seats is not a great idea. Someone who travels and uses parks all the time. The cold alumini and seats on your butt are absolutely horrored .
They need to be replaced because then I'll be replaced with timber ones which would also be more aesthetic to the environment .
There's a community group that look after this area I just want to say thanks.
It's also nice the big oval for the kangaroos to have a safe place as well.
Thanks to the fellow for bringing over the Pinewood for the campfire.
No matter what anyone says This is encouraging bringing in people into an area even if they're not paying for accommodation in a caravan park that's only 5% of the money that they actually spend in the local community.
I understand they're doing update sheds to stop the wind that's really nice but I still think you maintain that mountain cottage fill with a beautiful red gum seat rather than replace them.
Timber has a nice feel whereas I've seen tables replaced in other parts with aluminium or plastic benches and they're really cold to sit on.
Anyway I just want to put forward a vote for keeping the old seats there's nothing wrong with them.
I noticed in the bin it's got hips and heaps of those recycled $0.10 coin cans and bottles and things One of those big mesh depositories are good because you can see all the cans and people don't just jump rubbish in them This would be a good way to do something environmentally conscious and raise a few bucks at the same time.
The nice fella Brian and his lovely wife Heather mentioned there were thoughts to open up the football field I kind of like it nice and open the kangaroos love it too but if you did want to do it and you were concerned about hoons doing burnouts and getting in there and that sort of thing what you need to do is put pine stump logs like you've got around the campground making a driveway in and then surrounding areas for campsites This way you won't get any hoons.

A must see when in the area. Although it’s not really a petrified Forrest like they say, it’s definitely worth a look as the formations are very unusual. Not too far to walk from car park and close to blowhole & seals if wanting to walk further.
Kylie Byrne — Google review
Beautiful spot, both the blowhokes and the "Petrified Forrest". Just the explanstion is weird. The holes are not solution channels, but degassing pipes from the early intrusing basaltic layer underneath (density is 3.3, while the sediments density is 2.7, that's why the basalt in intruding). The basalt boiled the layer above with high energy. Solution channels would be much less. The basalt shows typical hexagonal cooling structures, idenifying it as basalt.

Amazing structures! You try to figure out what could be their origin, beside petrified wood, and feel surprised by the current scientific explanation. Still some open questions remain...
Harro Schmeling — Google review
This area was totally intriguing. Even the car park had significance - once the vent of a volcano! The gravel paths were easy to follow through the rocky landscape. There were boards providing information about the formations. Spoiler alert: nothing to do with trees, but actually a collection of hollow tubes of limestone. The view from the platform to the blowholes was disappointing as we could see nothing more than a teensy bit of spray. Not worth coming here to see the blowholes.

such an underrated place, if you're on a great ocean road roadtrip, please come to this place even though it's kinda far, however it's a lovely drive here, with windmills in sight.

Cape Bridgewater is a gem of a town and a visit to the blow hole lookout and the petrified forest is worth the drive.
It is a great display of a petrified forest even with all the years of erosion. It is well protected and great paths to walk along.
The coastline is amazing and during our visit we spotted a playful seal just off the coast.
The walk is only about 500m and there is a car park that leads to the locations.
Warrick Middleton — Google review
An absolutely amazing place to visit the wind turbines are awe inspiring as you drive up then the rocky formations and cliff areas are just surreal and the blowholes area is just really beautiful watching the waves crashing. I was lucky in a way when I was there there were some whales in the distance spurting water that was all we got to see but still an amazing experience wasn't expecting to see them so it was a really nice surprize. Ended up being a spectacular day.
Meral Demirkiran Cerci — Google review
A really nice walk, and be sure to combine this with the blowholes walk loop too. Amazing scenery really great contrasts with the ocean blue and the rocky terrain. The petrified forest at the end is quite interesting, and well worth a visit. Very little (to no) shade on a hot summers day. Walk takes about 20-30 minutes return, when combined with the blowholes walk too.
Picturesque park with a tranquil crater lake & nature trails for picnicking, camping & bushwalking.
Visited as part of a caving trip with the Scouts Victoria Caving team. This national park celebrates the lava fields of a dormant volcano and contains hundreds of caves and crevices both discovered and undiscovered.
The camp ground is great it requires booking and payment via Parks Victoria.
If you are considering going caving please strongly consider taking part in a formal guided tour with reputable qualified and experienced guides, caving can be dangerous and must be treated with caution.

We went yesterday, it was a beautiful day. There was parking on the side, we managed to park out car and box trailer directly at the tram depot. It is 22$ per adult and the employees are all volunteers. The ride was nice and smooth. The lady gave us clear explanations while driving. We stopped at the water tower world war memorial for an hour and then caught the tram the following hour. I would definitely recommend to live a different experience.

The Portland Tram Depot is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, transportation, or simply enjoying a unique and scenic ride. The depot is home to a fleet of restored historic trams, which operate on a 7.4km route along the Portland foreshore and back again.
The tram ride itself is a lot of fun, with knowledgeable volunteers providing commentary on the local history and attractions along the way. The trams are also very comfortable, with plenty of seating and even a cafe car where you can purchase snacks and drinks.
In addition to the tram rides, the depot also has a small museum with exhibits on the history of trams in Portland. The museum is free to enter, and it's a great way to learn more about the city's transportation heritage.
Overall, the Portland Tram Depot is a great place to visit for people of all ages. The tram rides are fun and informative, and the museum is a great way to learn more about the city's history.
Here are some additional things I liked about the Portland Tram Depot:
The depot is located in a beautiful setting, right on the Portland foreshore.
The tram rides are very affordable, and there are discounts for families and groups.
The depot is wheelchair accessible, and there are special trams that can accommodate people with disabilities.
The depot is open year-round, so you can visit no matter what time of year you're in Portland.
If you're looking for a fun and educational activity to do in Portland, I highly recommend visiting the Tram Depot. You won't be disappointed!

Hop-on & hop-off tram running 3.7km along the cliff top adjacent to the town gives a great view & does a round trip every hour between 10am to 4pm.
It's run by volunteers who are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They give a running commentary as the tram runs along at a fast walking pace about the history of the town & things to see.
You can hop on & off as many times as you like for the day. There's a small museum about the tram & area which they stop at but we'd recommend the botanical gardens stop. We spent an an hour strolling through them & walked 19 minutes into town for a coffee & food at Bahloo Portland cafe.

We stayed in the sunrise and sunset cottages as a family.

So well serviced- after several days camping, the oven, the laundry were very much appreciated.

We stayed in one of the cottages as a B&B. Well modernised. Some things took some working out: to lock the door, follow same procedure as opening it; to turn cooker hood on, pull the front panel out; to start hob, touch and hold the power button. Breakfast provided was fairly basic. When we were there there was N-wind, about force 5, and the entrance porch whistled like a train.

We recently stayed at the Cape Nelson Lighthouse, Sunset Cottage. We were doing the Great South West Walk and treated ourselves to a night of luxury for the last night of the walk.
The cottage is beautiful and has been beautifully restored. We felt very welcomed, and the big bath was exactly what we needed after days of walking and camping out. The luxurious bed was the most comfortable we have ever been in! It was amazing and we had a great night's sleep.
Rob was very helpful and friendly and arranged with the cleaner, Desi, to take our heavy backpacks back to Portland, thus allowing us to do the last day of the walk without them, thankyou so much Desi!
It was lovely to be able to get lunch at Isabella's Cafe when we arrived, and take it to the cottage. Also very convenient was that we were able to order our meals for the evening to be delivered to us from Macs Hotel in Portland.
We had a lovely, relaxed and very restful stay at Cape Nelson Lighthouse, Sunset cottage.

Looking for Aurora - sadly too overcast & not strong likelihood - but would have been great place. Lived the whole station & lighthouse area tho.

Great little information centre with very helpful staff. The real highlight was the walking history tour with Glen. Being a retired school teacher, he was able to provide an informative, engaging, entertaining and educational history of Port Fairy. I was really pleased that the tour began with an acknowledgement of Indigenous Peoples' suffering as part of the history of the area. Very tastefully done. I only wish I'd been there longer to do the other tours that Glen leads as they would have been great but time didn't allow it. If you can put up with his dad jokes lol I highly recommend the guided tours.

The Visitor's Centre was so helpful to help us plan our weekend. Staff are very friendly and so knowledgeable. Nothing like personal recommendations rather than spending hours online researching things. Some local sourveniers as well. Can't recommend Port Fairy enough, such a beautiful town with so much to do!
We spent our morning on a history walk with volunteer Glen run out of the Visitors Centre and he was amazing! As a retired school teacher, he knows how to paint a picture and share information in such an interesting and informative manner. We were hooked for 2 hours. He runs two other tours which I'm sure would be equally as fascinating. Thanks Glen!

The woman we dealt with here was so helpful. She helped us hire bikes, pumped up the tyres, gave us lots of useful information, and managed to be warm and informative as well as efficient. She was terrific.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I have to say it seems crazy that I cannot review Port Fairy as a town and post photos from around the town. I think that would be a great way to entice more tourists in. Also, you should have a heritage trail as a separate Google activity that can be reviewed as getting the map to find all the historic buildings from the tourist centre was was just a punt. Get a walking trail on Google and allow people like me to review it shows there are other activities than just a lighthouse. I come from an Art Deco city and the city walks are such a draw card for tourists of all ages in our city. Maybe offer guided walks that can be booked too with info on the history of the beautiful old buildings. A great little part time money spinner for a local.

Let's face it, who doesn't like an I ? So helpful and probably run by volunteers. They must answer the same questions every day , but always with a smile on their faces. Usually access to free WiFi, usually lots of free information and leaflets , also gifts. Port Fairy is the best one we have visited along with McClaren Vale. Keep up the good work.

Griffiths Island is a picturesque island connected to the mainland by a causeway, featuring a nature reserve and an iconic lighthouse. The 20-minute walk from the bridge to the lighthouse offers stunning views of the bushy trail and rocky surroundings, perfect for capturing beautiful photos. This island is also home to a protected short-tailed shearwater colony, adding to its natural charm.
Lovely area to walk and see wildlife. If it's windy, take the rightward path to the lighthouse. You'll have the sand blowing against your back instead of in your face.

A fantastic place for some great scenes of the Southern Ocean and local fauna. Plan to take a circuit stroll on this Island both during Low and High tide. You’ll be surprised how the waterscape changes. The path from the rotunda to the Lighthouse is friendly for bikes and prams. Beyond that, it’s not impossible but there’s a few beach walks and some rocks that you have to weather. Found a lot of dead
Birds and was not sure why that was the case. All photos during low tide.

If you've got time to explore while travelling past Port Fairy, please stop and take this magnificent walk (it also helps stretch your legs from the car ride!)
Was phenomenal and exciting for all ages 😊

I visited this place with my friends and family with kids. It was a small walk of around 700m till the lighthouse. Walk was pretty nice with a bit of clear water walk and then a walk between flora . The weather was no AO great as it started raining as soon as we started to enjoy the view. The lighthouse was nothing spectacular but the overall sea view and a rainbow at back made it mesmerising. Sea waves were big and the rocks made them look magnificent. A must place to visit in Port Fairy. You also get a park near parking and a nice area to sit and have picnic if it’s sunny. 😊
Hope you enjoy your day .

A magical place to walk and see wildlife. We were delighted to see the wallabies who were just so graceful and elegant with their little joeys. We visited on a rainy windswept day but it was still a really nice peaceful walk to the lighthouse and along the beach. I would absolutely recommend.

A great place to visit. Beware, only the left side (1170m) to lighthouse is accessible to strollers (with a detour to a trail on right, before you reach the beach). We took the full loop, and tried to come back from the lighthouse the other way, and we regretted it. The signage could have been better.

Nice little island to hike to the lighthouse. Full hike takes an hour and it’s a mix of trails and beach paths and a nice little meander around this tiny island. Lots of birds to spy. Crashing waves off the Indian Ocean are very awe-inspiring and therapeutic.
