Perry Sandhills, located just outside the town of Wentworth on the VIC-NSW border, is an amazing spot for families to explore sand dunes and enjoy a day out. Visitors recommend bringing smooth plastic toboggans or boogy boards for sliding down the dunes and suggest packing water to wash out sand from kids' eyes. The area offers a great view of the sunset from the sand hills and provides toilets and under cover shelter for resting in the shade.
Beautiful Little spot, impressive to see the giant Eucalyptus growing amongst all that sand!
Sealed the whole way there up to the car park.
Good for all fitness levels

Great sandhills with interesting history! The god tree there is also worth a visit. There is some litter on the ground in places so please make an effort to keep this clean for everyone to enjoy!

Interesting place, a little unexpected given there doesn’t appear to be any other sand dunes in the area. Toilets and under cover shelter next to sand hills for a rest in the shade. Easily accessible.

we had a great time wandering around and took lots of pictures

If you are after sand dunes this place is OK. Parking is available and it's accessible by car/SUV. It was a pleasant walk along the dunes on a ~30 degree day. Tricky to walk with shoes, bare foot or trekking shoes suits best.

Kids loved rolling down the hill and playing with the finest sand while me and hubby were amazed by the beautiful sunset. What an amazing place and hidden gem!
Chelsea Zhong — Google review
A great natural wonder, their are toilets and a shelter with table and bench.
The god tree is a wonder.

Can walk over these & drive all the way around. Take some cardboard for the kids to slide down. No charge to enter
Helen Clarke — Google review
Great sight. Awesome for kids to run around in the sand. No tickets needed, it's free.

Awesome spot to take the kids to explore the dunes and slide down. Take a picnic and make a day of it!
I recommend smooth plastic toboggans, corflute sheets or smooth bottomed boogy boards.
I also recommend taking water to wash out kids eyes, as the more adventurous kids will no doubt end up with a face full of sand!

Awesome Sandhills! We did 4WD sand dunes as well. This place has interesting history of extinct animal fossils! Beautiful landscapes; bush melons are everywhere.

Perry Sandhills are amazing sand dunes eroded by wind overs the years and is located just outside the town of Wentworth on the VIC-NSW border. We went to see the sunset here and it was a great view from the sand hills. Would highly recommend if you are around Wentworth.

A very beautiful part of nature. Its definitely worth a visit. If you go there, I highly recommend to walk inside the sand dunes and not only explore the edges. Soo beautiful. There are lots of water melon growing. To my knowledge, they were originally planted as food for camels. Please do not destroy or eat them.
The Old Wentworth Gaol offers a glimpse into the past, where 8 years in prison was the punishment for stealing a horse and just 1 year for getting drunk and punching someone. The visitor found it to be a good historical trip, despite initially thinking it was closed. The reasonable entry fee of $8 makes it worth the visit, with an hour being sufficient to explore the small but intriguing jail.
Lovely old goal well maintained. Has lots of artefacts to look at. Staff very friendly. It is a self guided tour and you can take as long as you like. Park and toilets opposite goal . Town musuem is also across the road.
Gillian Cameron — Google review
You feel like you've stepped back in time here. It's a very interesting to learn the history of the gaol, what happened there and who was impressed. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Jessica Hulson (Jess) — Google review
Very cool. Informative exhibits. Allows pets which was great! The kids really enjoyed it. Very educational. The guy at the entry was lovely. Wasn't much to do nearby, but worth a visit.
Ness Harmer — Google review
Pretty good look at how things were back in those days. 8 years prison for stealing a horse. Wow, what changed
These days you only get 8 years for murder. Can someone explain that to me. If you got drunk in those days and punched someone you could have got 1 year goal. These days you can use being drunk or high on drugs as an excuse for committing crimes and get a reduced sentence because of it. Again can someone explain why we are so soft on major crimes these days. Ok the goal is a good history trip and the goal or jail while is small is worth a look at. All good Jim. Look

A great deal of information available during a self guided tour. Gift shop available. Public rest rooms across the road in a local park.
There is also the pioneer museum close by. Reasonably priced at $10 per adult.

Great place to visit to learn about a bit of the history of Wentworth and the stark reality of what prisoners lived in and the way they were treated. So well kept a credit to whoever is looking after this site.

If you like history this is worth going to. A lot of historical items on display. walk through at your own pace & read all about it. $8 per adult entry fee

The history of this place. One the most intact old gaols from the 1800s. Great indigenous history collection and display. $8 entry and an on-site antique store.
Elizabeth Smith — Google review
The Old Wentworth gaol is the oldest Australian designed gaol and was built between 1879-1881 and operated till 1927. The Gaol gives you a glimpse into how life was as a prisoner back in those days. It has a male cell block of 10 cells and female cell block of only 2 cells. Lots of information & stories are there inside to read about who were prisoners, gaolers and others in Old Wentworth gaol. Definitely worth a visit if you are around Wentworth or Mildura.
Nakul pisolkar — Google review
Paul was a gracious host on our paranormal tour and showed us around the gaol before leaving us to investigate alone in the dark. With a full moon behind us we explored for nearly 3 hours. This gaol is original and a great deal of care and attention has gone into its upkeep and history. We will be back!

Very interesting to see the building. Definitely built to last. Displays a bit of a mixed bag, but as it's run by locals rather than professionals that's to be expected. Displays were not offensive some just not particularly connected to Wentworth jail
Mary Coombe — Google review
Thought it was closed at first as I didn't notice the open signs in the office. Price is reasonable at $8, even $10 would be fine.
You can easily do this place in an hour even if you stop to read everything. Worth the visit.

Fascinating place to visit for a bit of penal history. Lots to see and learn about.

Our family loved this old gaol. Such a great experience to be able to have some insight into how hard things were back in the early colonisation times.
Possibly not very accessible for people with walking disabilities or wheel chairs due to steps.

We'll worth the trip over to see the goal.
You can take your time walking around it, dog friendly as well still take doggy bags with you. Just a few of the photos that I took.

My partner and I recently visited Orange World and it was a fun and educational experience. Mario is a gem of a human and makes everyone feel welcome regardless of age or culture. He is a true story teller and his tour is highly recommended.
Nerissa Nicholson — Google review
Such a fun time at Orange World. Mario is a delight, and we were warmly welcomed with a glass of delicious fresh orange juice.
From there, we had the introduction, the orange peeling demo, the orange harvesting demo, then it was all aboard the farm train for a tour around the farm. As we visited in January, most of the oranges were small and green on the tree, but it was great to see them, as well as the huge avocado trees, and the special citrus Avenue for those classic photos. The tour was a great balance of humour and information.
After the tour we bought a litre of orange juice (yum!), and took fun photos with the set up out the front. Highly recommend!
Jesse Lovell — Google review
A family owned orange farm for almost 50 years, Maria & Mario are super friendly.
The train tours are must do. Very interesting and engaging train tour for kids and those who are kid at heart. Mario shares a lot of information along the ride.
The freshly squeezed and bottled orange juice is a must buy. The cafe also serves Dutch pancakes and waffles to satisfy your sweet tooth. Only tip will be to pack your lunch or get a take away if you are going for afternoon train tours and good thing is the train tours are spaced an hour apart, so plenty of time to get a feel of the place, take photos and prepare for the tour.

What a great experience. Mario ran a great tour and he was very dedicated. Tour felt very personal despite tours running three times a day. Our kids(3 and 5) enjoyed it too. Thanks Mario!

This was such a fun tour of the orange farm with excellent commentary from Mario. The shop has a wonderful selection of marmalade and also orange themed souvenirs. We got some good tips for growing an orange tree from Mario too.

Mario runs this tour on his farm, and is a hoot, great conversationalist.
Oranges themselves are only mildly interesting, but the kids loved the tractor ride. Wear a soccer shirt for extra points.

Very interactive tour. Mario the owner and tour guide was extremely affable and gave a great experience for the kids.
The pricing was slightly more than I wanted to pay, but it was a better tour than many.

A little hidden gem. Family run business. The owner Mario is very friendly and lively to run a tractor tour. He provided many interesting information running a orange orchard. The blood orange ice cream is very distinctive.
Thean Sim — Google review
Mario was an engaging tour guide and really ap-pealed to us. The tram was also a neat idea to allow tourists to explore the farm comfortably seated all the way. Appreciated the complimentary orange juice before the tour.
Only downside was that we could not step off the tram and walk around the farm to see and feel the fruit trees up close.

We were lucky enough to visit Orange World on Boxing Day and it was fantastic! This family owned farm is well worth a visit, not only are the staff friendly and welcoming, but their orange juice (included with the tour) is THE BEST. The tractor farm tour is very engaging and informative. Our guide was Lynton, he was such an outstanding presenter and was so kind as well. The farm shop has lots of produce, honey and home-made goodies. Make sure you take a stop here if you’re road-tripping through the area!

We had the pleasure of visiting Orange World during our Easter holiday and had the best experience. The very kind Mario and Maria and also informative Linton who took us on our tractor/train ride. What a wonderful experience. Best thing we did!!

We had a great day at orange world. Whilst waiting for the tour the kids enjoyed the sandpit. The adults enjoyed exploring the souvenirs, I couldn't go pass the mandarine and mimosa scented candle and the honey.
Mario the tour guide and owner was great entertainment, funny and informative, he had us laughing and interacting. It was a lovely start to our day. Thank you Mario.

Great place to visit when in Mildura. Host Mario & staff are very friendly & accommodating. So nice to have a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice while you wait to go on the orange farm tour. Such a pleasant experience, very cute that Mario gives prizes out. The kids play area outside is small but homey feels. The train ride is fun and really interesting what you learn about orange's . Best to book a head as you may miss out if you just rock up, it's a chance you take. The gift shop is cute. Overall a great activity for young & old. Keep up the lovely customer service and orange farm experience. Have been here a few times now. We tend to bring family & friends to orange world when we visit Mildura.

Orange World was a highlight of our trip to Mildura for Country Champs Basketball. Mario was hilarious, such a great host and tour guide. He got to know every single person by name on the tour and made us all feel incredibly welcome. Interesting tour, delicious fresh juice, great gift shop and hilarious host. Thanks from the Morwell Magic boys and families!

Absolutely fantastic, and a real hidden gem to go and visit! The owner was really friendly and made the tour very fun and special. Our dog was allowed into Orange World too which was great, and even sat with us on the tractor ride. Booking is essential, particularly during the holiday period. We spent about 1.5 hours here, and definitely recommended the orange cake at the end of the tour.
Kerbray — Google review
It was one of the best tour experience with the best tour guide (Mario) in Orange World by far!!! Though it was actually my first time visiting the spot and Mario was the only guide there. 😉
I was not really expecting much as we were just mainly looking for a place to drink fresh orange juice but when we arrived there, Mario was very welcoming and accommodating to offer us the train tour even though there were just 5 visitors at that moment. Before going for the ride, Mario gave us the most awesome freshly squeezed orange juice that I have ever tasted my whole life!
The tour was really an unexpected gem that we accidentally found. Coupled with the knowledge and entertainment that we had recieved from Mario, we had a blast! Please support locals and visit the place when your in the area.

We visited whilst on our houseboat holiday in the region. Where we moored was a 1.5km walk to orange world. Mario & Maria were very friendly & welcoming. We did the 10.30am train tour with Mario which was very informative & enjoyable with all of Mario's jokes included. You get a complimentary glass of freshly squeezed OJ & also pick your own mandarins from the tree included in the tour. A big thanks to Mario for specially picking a Cara Cara orange which weren't ready yet for us to taste & for me to give to my friend in Melbourne who had specially requested it. We had Maria's orange syrup cake after the tour which was delicious. We bought lots of the variety of small jars of marmalades & some choc dipped orange slices, orange chocolate block & remember to buy & take some freshly squeezed OJ home also as available for sale. We loved this tour & highly recommend it.

Beautiful walking trail around the Island.
Good for kids.
Difficult for wheelchair after the dam.

Easy access, you can walk across the lock which is something that cannot usually be done. The island is on the other side, not much to see there but it is part of a working lock so really a marvel of engineering.

One of our friends introduced Fossey's Gin to us and we loved it so much that we decided to head to Mildura from Melbourne (600kms!) just to try all the rest of their Gins during Easter weekend.
Luckily for us- it was an absolute worthwhile trip...what an amazing experience! First of all good old 'all smiles' customer service, really yummy food and ofcourse the heavenly Gins...everything was just amazing. We bought so many Gins (we better don't put it here how many...) and did lunch plus dinner there that the owner Steve came over to say hello to us during dinner :) we were so touched with that gesture... Lovely family of Fossey's.
By the way they also do 2 amazing Whiskies- their single malt is really really good...highly recommended.
Luckily for us in Melbourne they are opening a store in the Lygon st soon(June/July 2022)..so for the 1000s of their fans here they will be able to experience the same Gins and Whiskies soon without having to travel 1200kms but Mildura experience will always be unique....the lovely setup they have there will stay unique and Mildura itself was such a lovely town that I would recommend everyone to visit there at least once :)

Such a great place to catch up with friends and family. Beautiful outdoor seating under gorgeous grape vines. The cauliflower florets were absolutely to die for. Super crunchy, slight curry flavour, just the way I like it. The cocktails were a generous size with good garnishing. I have been here plenty of times and I definitely will be back. The wait staff were so attentive and helpful, good knowledge of of the menu

What a find! Cherie, one of the owners, looked after our boisterous group and made great food and drink recommendations - everything was perfect! The amazing gin menu made selecting three on a tasting paddle a little difficult, but everyone was able to choose their three individually. Perfect! The group was more than happy and a few bottles were purchased to take home. Thanks Cherie and team, you made our visit exceptional 😀

Haven't had the pleasure of visiting either venue in person but the team at Fossey's are so amazing and helpful while offering high quality, delicious spirits. Big thankyou to the tall, young dark long haired lady that served us (sorry didnt get her name). Very imformative and went above and beyond to ensure we had a place to sleep on our spontaneous weekender away, which happened to coincide with the busiest weekend in Mildura where all accommodation was full, even in surrounding towns.

Just after breakfast on our first day of touring, we always visit the Mildura Information Centre.
We have been to this terrific centre many times over the years and it always delivers.
The friendly staff go above and beyond to provide any information that you might be looking for. For example, I asked about the history of the world's longest bar (formerly at the Working Man's Club) and they found some information and photocopied it for me.
The displays here are well organised and spaced out so that you can walk around and appreciate Mildura and the surrounding regions focussing on key themes in a logical order.
There are lots of brochures about attractions, food and accommodation in Mildura and beyond. There are even brochures about other parts of Victoria and other states in Australia.
It's also a terrific place to buy postcards and other souvenirs.
If you are a new resident in the region, there's also loads of relevant information.
There's a cafe next to the centre if you want to stay a bit longer and grab a bite to eat.
In short, this place has everything!
We always enjoy stopping here and staying up-to-date with the latest information. Keep up the great work :-)

So there's two, and the entrance is a tad confusing. Don't take the one right next to the train track, or the one next to the house next to the tracks. Take the one after opposite the park. I had a good sit and enjoyed my pie from the pub.

Local couple Geoff and Merrilyn Horman are depicted in this work by Melbourne artist Rone. Unfortunately the work is faded and poor Merrilyn isn't at all visible. Meals and accommodation available at the Minapre Hotel which also boasts a milk bar and coffee shop. Nearby is the Stockman's Hut Gallery which charges $5 admission and this includes complimentary tea or coffee. The gallery and grounds make up for the disappointment of the silo art.

A bit difficult to make out as the colours are similar to the silo and depending on how much sunlight there is. Still worth going to and seeing it.
Absolutely lovely spot to camp for as long as you think you need. Very popular especially at peak times.

What a fantastic find.
Lake Lascelles, is a great place not only for your fur friends, but the whole family. Lake Lascelles is in the town of Hopetoun, in the southern Mallee region.
The towns folk are the friendliest people only to happy to assist in any way.
Make sure it is on your bucket list.

These GrainCorp silos were built in 1939 and are now decommissioned.
Artist Guido van Helten’s, finished his artwork in 2016, depicting four female and male farmers of the Wimmera Mallee region.
The Brim Grain Silo's were the first to be painted, and its success inspired the establishment of the Silo Art Trail.

Was a great day going to see the art work.....we made it to 3 of them and wished we did the rest but will do on the next trip up....well worth a visit though.

Great silo art! Brim maybe a little out of your way, but with a little forethought it's easy to work into your trip plan.
Andrew Osborne — Google review
The father of all silo arts in Australia! This mighty silo art started the chain reaction of silo arts across Australia. It was painted by the Brisbane Street artist Guido van Helten in 2015. This is now one of the 6 silo arts in the 200km silo arts trail from Melbourne. I am so proud of our great artists, bringing out the souls of the very village they represent - the many many remote little towns and communities that adds so much depth, history and meaning to what the huge Australia continent is all about! Little little places where big crops grow, providing food to Australia and beyond! I just love getting out there, giving them whatever support aiming for a self sustaining Australia!
Great place to come on a drive and sit down and relax and have a bit to eat or just look at the great artwork painted onto the silos.

STUNNING this was my 2nd favourite silo art so far. Beautiful story and colours what a stand out.

The drive to get here is through farming areas with narrow roads. Slow down for any traffic. Look out for motorcycles. Many wind turbines to look at around this area. The painted silo's are very well done. Disused rail line behind silo's. Great for taking pics.

Worth the small detour off the 'main' road, the colours are vibrant, the art is breathtaking.

Our favourite of 3 silos visited. The drive through the towns is well worth it for architecture of buildings and what would have been bustling little towns in times gone by. Unfortunately not much happening nowadays which is sad. It needs more visitors!!

My favourite silo art! I’ve seen some other ones but when I saw the Graincorp Sheep Hills Silo Art, I was overwhelmed with the scale of the silo and the colours were breathtaking. This artwork is great for photos too 📸 it was worth driving all the way from Melbourne!

Truly one of a kind artwork, the elders and the two children, the generations of people who own the land. A landmark to celebrate the land, the stars, the beauty and the beliefs. The artwork is respectful about the past, hopeful about the future and will transcend the generations to come. The color selection is awesome. What's even more wonderful, is the day expressions on the faces.

Large-scale mural of 2 figures painted on a pair of grain silos by artist Julia Volchkova.

Lovely art.
Read the literature available in the small shelter directly across from this silo and you will learn about other attractions this small town has to offer.
There is an art trail on the perpendicular street to this silo, which we walked along as well. That street also houses the local IGA and clean public toilets.
Patrick Silveira — Google review
Closer to Horsham and Murtao, it's the smallest of all the silo arts, but a more special one in retrospective. It's easier to draw on a blank canvas. But blending into the background color, coming up with such a realistic piece of art, is not an easy task. The faces in the painting are so relatable. It's well informed along the route and easier to find. It's a small town but a beautiful one.
I would suggest, starting from your trip from this one.

Not quite the same impact as others on the silo art trail, but none the less impressive. The overall detail to scale is amazing. Worth visiting if in the area.
An 8-acre landscaped garden dating back to the late 1800's with rose gardens, picnic & play areas.
Staying next door and had a leisurely walk when the rain stopped. Lovely garden. Look well maintained! Double thumbs up to the care taker👍👍😃
Very clean, neat and tidy👍👍. Free entry to the garden. Some of the plants starting showing changing colour, when they fully changed, it would be more beautiful!

Horsham Botanical Gardens
An excellent example of what a Botanic Gardens should be. Beautiful and educational. There hasn’t been much water so the park is struggling but considering it’s in great shape. The gardens is not only educational In the way of plants but also of the people of the Horsham district both past and present. The park is completely wheel chair accessible with something to see in every season and has plenty of different kinds of seating. Adjacent to the gardens is a good playground with BBQs I imagine that the gardens are popular for weddings and parties, anything really. The lawns are so perfect with large and small trees

A must see place in Horsham. For that matter you can't go past this beautiful botanical garden without noticing it (if driving towards Anzac centenary bridge, Weir park, etc.) A well manicured, well maintained botanical garden with variety of Flowers, shrubs, plants, trees etc makes for an enjoyable walkabout. There's also a children's playground and barbeque area with toilet facilities etc towards the rear side of this botanical garden. Overall, it's a Good place to spend some time in Horsham.

This is a hidden gem of a place to visit. We stopped in here for a quick look when Google maps took us on a shortcut and I'm so glad we did. The frontage gives no hint to the extensive collections and displays hidden in the labyrinth of rooms behind.

What an amazing place to be. Harrow Cricket museum is the real mecca of cricket, this is where it all started in Australia in 1868. Harrow is a small sleepy town with lovely people and a rich heritage. Harrow Discovery Centre is open all days and a must visit for anyone with love of cricket and history. You can spend the whole day in the Harrow Discovery Centre, and then visit the local pub just across the street. Lovely place!!!!

Wow,
The best cricketing museum in Australia. Pulled over to stretch my legs on a Colac to Adelaide drive and was blown away by this nondescript little treasure. I walked inside and was immediately impressed, 5 minutes later, I had to pick my jaw up off the ground then surrender myself to the fact I will be visiting Harrow again in the near future and spending an entire afternoon within these historic walls.
A real delight for young and old.
Prepare to be enlightened, entertained & engaged.
Great experience. Cameron gave us the full instructions, and you could tell he has had years of experience. He managed to turn a few beginners into congident riders in just two hours. Horses were great, tailored for the different levels in the group. Does not matter what your level is, if you want to ride, this is the place for you!
Stijn van Oorschot — Google review
During our trip around Australia for the last 6 months I've been keeping a keen eye out for a trail riding experience that would engage my husband despite his disinterest in horsemanship and this place jumped out at me. Cameron is an amazing trainer and taught the group on how to control his beautiful horses as well as how to trot (3 ways) and canter (2 ways). We always felt safe but there was an element of freedom that my husband really took to and he was soon out trotting and out cantering me. I asked him if he liked horses now and got a resounding "they're alright". I also asked if he'd be happy to go riding again in the next 6 months and he said yes! It's taken me nearly 10 years to get him on a horse so I'm absolutely stoked. Thank you so much Cameron for a beautiful ride and for your knowledge and help.

If you are planning on visiting the Grampians, I would highly recommend Cameron and Sandra’s Grampians Horse Riding Centre, just a wonderful experience.
Cameron and Sandra were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I advised them I can’t call as my partner is right next to me, so we just messaged on FB, and they went above and beyond and found us a suitable spot. I surprised my partner as she loves horses and she loved it so much, it honestly made her day.
Cameron genuinely knows what he is doing and the horses are well looked after, I might be a bit biased, but Alfie was the best horse.
The views and terrain were amazing, definitely recommend this for anyone visiting the Grampians.

Where to start... beautiful scenery, beautiful well educated horses and an awesome experience. Our guide Cameron catered to our every need and made it fun for everyone as we had experienced and beginner riders in our group. If you're after good quality horsemanship, up for learning something new and having an absolute ball... book 10 times over. Because I would go back in a heart beat.

Don’t miss this one…
Cameron & son Angus were knowledgeable, friendly and approachable hosts. Imparting horsemanship also giving much needed confidence to our young ladies (12yo) one, being a complete novice and the other an intermediate pony club rider.
Both riders were able to enjoy this ride at their respective levels and come away with smiles for days.
An intimate group of 5 riders only plus Cameron & Angus allowed the girls to go independently without us parents nagging.
Purchase their ‘first for horses’ book complied and written by Cameron as it has a wealth of knowledge for everyone.
Highly recommend, we will return when in the area.

Fantastic! Cameron will teach you everything you need to know to be confident horse riding. We enjoyed the complementary overnight camping in the beautiful remote location the night before the ride. Highly recommend!
alixx ackland — Google review
This is more than just your average trail riding centre. If you enjoy well educated quality horses then this is for you. Safety is always a priority but balanced with fun engaging exercises. Cameron respects his horses and expects you to do the same. He has a wealth of equine knowledge to offer if you're willing to be educated and is not afraid to keep you in check or alternatively allow you to ride ahead if capable. The scenery is magic and you will come away refreshed and more confident in your skills.
We had a group of four riders from absolute beginner to rusty old keen 'wanna be' and all thoroughly beamed after our ride!
Can't wait to have the privilege to ride with you again Cameron. Good luck with those non equine ventures and hope you have recovered from those renovation induced injuries;).
Linda Blackwell — Google review
Trail leader Cameron has an enormous wealth of knowledge to pass forward through the connection between human and horse. He has a genuine interest in teaching you how to effectively connect with you horse in order to improve your riding experience thus inevitably improve your life experience. He expresses himself beautifully and the teachings he gives you is worth far more than what you'll pay. The horses are cared for to a triple gold star standard which shines through on your ride with them. They are alert, independent thinking animals and show a zest for life that is unmatched at other trail riding facilities. I rode Sailer just recently and he was so kind and patient with me, allowing me to lead him and in turn leading me where I failed to understand, effectively teaching me on the go, what a gracious animal. He was not the most affectionate horse, politely asserting his unwillingness for cuddles before and after the ride while still affording me a chance to show him I have what it takes to lead him through the grampians bush. I hope he was half as impressed with me as I was with him. It's safe to assume I have love and gratitude that this facility operates and hope to see it's continued operation for decades to come.

MacKenzie Falls is a popular destination within The Grampians, about 25 minutes' drive from Halls Gap. It offers stunning lookout points like the Broken Falls Lookout and a refreshing walk to Fish Falls. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Reeds Lookout and Balconies. While swimming is not allowed at the falls, an observation deck provides a great vantage point for enjoying the cascading water.
Good place specially for family in summer and also have Steep walk with lots of steps. For fat people a little be hard to down and up and The signage says no swimming at waterfall (there's no phone signal at the bottom if there's an accident). We dipped our feet and hats in further along the path which was refreshing. A great walk.
Welayat Hussain — Google review
Absolutely stunning and only a small walk to see the main waterfall. If going to the lookout go left, the sign has been a stolen so can’t see and would lead you on a big loop otherwise. The actually waterfall is a steep but moderate climb, the views are certainly worth. There was a rock slide so some access cut off but can still do the massive walk to fish falls
Adam Chiarieri — Google review
Just 550mts walk down the hill to this amazing waterfall. The walk is easy while getting down and while climbing its a bit heavy ( not much - climbing strais).
Its good for a swim down at falls or you can just sit and watch the water running giving a calmer experience.
Good to carry a extra pair of clothes if you change your mind for a quick swim.
Vivi — Google review
Haven't been here for 20 years! So much better in many ways. The paths are great and signage informative. The falls are their usual brilliant selves. Mid march and still flowing well. And yes we can confirm 260 steps to the bottom of the falls. Easy down but a struggle up. Lookouts were well placed.

Bit of a walk down the falls. Lookout points are accessible. Bottom of the waterfall has amazing views and the walk down the falls is wanderful, totally worth it.

Incredible spot. Great views from the first look out above the falls. then a nice easy walk around to the look at that faces the waterfalls. Well worth doing. Then if you have the energy you must walk down the stairs to get to the bottom of the falls for the best view of the falls. Allow plenty of time to explore.
One time in the carpet we were greeted by a kangaroo. Another time an emu.

I experienced the majesty of Mackenzie Falls, and I still find myself thinking about it.
The hike down offers stunning glimpses of the falls, building anticipation for the main event.
Once at the bottom, the sheer power and cascading beauty left me speechless. If you love nature, this is a must-visit in Victoria!

Spectacular falls! Steep walk with lots of steps. The signage says no swimming at waterfall (there's no phone signal at the bottom if there's an accident). We dipped our feet and hats in further along the path which was refreshing. A great walk.
Chris Martignago — Google review
Can we feel how majestic this waterfall is! One of the largest in Victoria. Ya but you have to walk like 2km with return and you'll need to trek down 260 narrow steps to reach the base of the falls, so be prepared for a difficult climb back to the top.
You can go to Fish fall from here but I’ll suggest to from Zumsteins picnic area & Historical site, more easier.
Ummay Safa — Google review
This place is one of the highlights here in Grampians. I love the rainbow on the falls on a hot day. Easy to go down but the climbing back was tough.
The place has well maintained toilets that will refresh you after a hot day of hiking.
Leouel Jr Santos (Eleos Travel) — Google review
I recently visited the falls, and I was truly captivated by the mesmerizing water flow. The entire place exudes beauty and is a fantastic destination for a family outing. However, it's essential to be prepared for a bit of physical activity, as you'll need to descend and climb back up. It's wise to bring water or energy drinks, especially if you're traveling with kids.
I visited during a public holiday, and the crowd was quite significant. Nevertheless, the area outside the falls makes for a delightful picnic spot. There are comfortable seating options available, and you can also enjoy your meal under the refreshing shade of the trees.

The waterfall is really beautiful as you have to walk about 15 minutes down from the parking to reach this beautiful waterfall. The track might get slippery and the weather might be windy so proper outfit is recommended. Loved the beautiful waterfall as we took lots of photos for memories.

Beautiful area. Rushing water, a rainbow, and q blue sky!
I recommend walking down the bottom of the stairs as there's another great walk with river views toward the Zumstein picnic area.
The stairs can get pretty steep so make sure you hold the rail.
Plenty of parking, and restrooms.
Hayden McLachlan — Google review
Probably the most well-known waterfall in the Grampians, but is only accessible up close by descending down a long flight of steps into the gorge. There is another lookout on top of the gorge which offers more distant views and is at the end of a short flat walk from the car park, which itself is just a short drive off Mt Victory Road. It's quite popular so you will probably have to share the place with many others, unless you come early. There is a track which follows the gorge downstream and is less popular.
Rodney Avery — Google review
pretty little waterfall. nothing too spectacular, but the water spray put up a nice rainbow for us. the overhanging sandstone cliffs were stunning and formidable.
came as a tour so the stairs were pretty clustered at one point in time at the bottom of the mackenzie falls. stairs are pretty high on the way up/down too, so not for those with knee problems.
Yu Qing — Google review
About 25 mins drive from Halls gap and this is what awaits you. The place is one of my favourite place to visit while in Grampians. Beautiful place with great lookout points like Broken falls lookout which is about 180m walk from main entrance point. See photos for views from these points.
On the way you can visit Reeds lookout and Balconies, which is a bonus. Once you visit the falls, the trail leads further 2kms to reach fish falls. If you have time and energy, it’s a walk worth giving a try.
A bit of steep steps as you approach the falls, not recommended for people with joint issues. And slippery surface as well. Be extra careful no matter how good your shoes are.
Toilets and ample parking available. Weather can be teasingly wet, with slight drizzle and sunny. People with pram, might have to leave it in your car boot.

Barely 2 mins from the car park, super accessible but do mind the kangaroos when you drive towards the Grampians National Park as there will be tens of them on the road, crossing the road or just chilling out

Great spot for sunrise/sunset depending on time of year (sun sets on other side of the mountains). Wheelchair accessible paths straight to the viewpoints. Be wary of massive potholes on the road up to the lookout, starting immediately off Mt Difficult Rd, some are big enough to sink a wheel, and kangaroos jumping into the road at dusk. Metal barriers now in place.
Quite isolated in that there's no other sightseeing spots on this road, so good only as a photo op.

Two lookouts in one area, short walk from the car parking. Good for prams and wheel chairs as flat and cemented walking paths. Beautiful scenery overlooking Grampians on another angle. Few car parking and could be busy during school holidays. Drop toilet only.

Out of many look outs in this area, this is the one you shouldn't miss. Breath taking view. Very close to the car park. Families with small kids can visit without any hassle.
PULKIT KOTHARI — Google review
Fantastic high lookout in The Grampians National Park where you can see Hall's Gap & the surrounding country. Once at the carpark the two viewing platforms are easy to access & the views are stunning. Good place for photography.

On a clear day, you get a fantastic perspective of Halls Gap township. We were there Australia Day weekend so it was absolutely rammed. Recommend visiting early or in non holiday season:
Maws — Google review
Great view for the sunrise, literally a 1 minute walk to the lookout from the carpark that faces the lookout. There are 2 lookout spots next to each other too for slightly different angles
Katia Lam — Google review
Let me tell you, the hype about Boroka Lookout is real. I wasn't expecting much, you know, just another scenic stop. But wow, was I wrong! The walk from the carpark was a breeze, even with my dodgy knee. It's a short, paved path that winds through some beautiful stringybark trees.
And then you reach the lookout platform, and BAM! The whole valley unfolds before you. It's like a postcard come to life. I could see Halls Gap nestled down below, Lake Bellfield sparkling in the distance, and the mountain ranges stretching out forever. There's something incredibly calming about seeing such a vast landscape.
I spent ages just soaking it all in. Snapped a few photos, of course, but they just don't do it justice. This is definitely a place you have to experience for yourself. If you're ever in the Grampians and looking for an easy stop with a magnificent view, Boroka Lookout is a must-do.
Thanh Hảo Lê — Google review
This is one of the best lookouts in the Grampians, with views along the valley to Halls Gap, Lake Bellfield and Mt William. Unlike other vantage points in this national park it doesn't require any physical effort to get to - just an easy 20 minute 15km drive from Halls Gap via Mt Victory Road then Mt Difficult Road.
Rodney Avery — Google review
Just few minutes drive via Mt Difficult rd. Lookout very close to parking. Toilets available. Ample parking spots, pram and wheelchair friendly. Well fenced off lookout view points. Scenic drive to the lookout. Have a look around and see if you can spot few rarely seen birds. If you start from Halls gap it takes roughly 20 mins (few waterfalls on the way back as well. Visual treat guaranteed. Highly recommend for family with small kids and elderly members.
R D — Google review
Really stunning and breathtaking views. We actually think that the Boroka Lookout was much nicer than the balconies as there are more things to look at. It’s a short walk from the car park and toilet is available nearby. Would recommend.

Magical sunrise.
I imagine the photos from the professional camera would be rather more spectacular than my phone snaps...
Raelene K — Google review
Very accessible as the lookout is right next to the large carpark, with toilets on site.
Stunning views of Halls Gap and the lakes! Do not try to take a caravan up there whatever you do - there are warnings about this but we saw a van trying to get up anyway. The road is absolutely not wide enough for that, with many potholes and twisty bits. Fine for a car though!
Danielle Kindleyside — Google review
Stunning view of Halls Gap from the top. Lookout is just next to the carpark and is definitely suitable for young kids
Low-key hotel offering rooms & cottages, some with whirlpool baths, plus a heated indoor pool.
We stayed with family for 2 nights at room 7. Excellent service from the owner Mathew, very cozzy room and well presented and clean. Nice charming personality. He looked after me and my family very well. We enjoyed our food at Black Panther which was just 10 second from my room. Highly recommended.will come back next time.

The whole complex seemed to be run down. The grounds were untidy with long grass everywhere and grass growing out of the gutters. The rooms we had were very run down with old furnishings and furniture and original bathroom and kitchen. It would be great if we could at least say the bed was comfortable but it was the hardest bed we had on our whole two week trip away. As a positive it is centrally located and so an easy walk into town etc.
Margaret Hutchings — Google review
The room size was good, the location is amazing, this place has so much potential but is run down and disappointing. Every time we turned on our kitchen tap it made a sound like a ship coming into harbour. Have covered over the indoor spa, advertised indoor heated pool (the reason we booked here) only to discover they were only heating it to 22 degrees - way too cold (stop being cheap and turn up the temp). They advertised reception being open 8-8 but numerous times they weren’t there, the pool was meant to be open to 8 but the lights weren’t on. The rooms weren’t that clean. Everything is outdated and looks neglected. The service was way too relaxed, not attentive although the people were kind. Time to invest in the business and renovate!
Jodie Turner — Google review
This was a cheap hotel. So for the price it was excellent. Location is A+. Being in the centre of town was super convenient. Views were spectacular when you step outside the door and the sight of kangaroos grazing outside our window in the morning a real treat. The room was very dated and needed a good spring clean (walls, carpets, drapes cobwebs etc) however, the bathroom, kitchen and spa were very clean. Spa worked a treat after hiking all morning. Comfortable bed, but sheets were so crisp, they were actually noisy.
Shell Belle — Google review
Location: excellent, right behind the shopping strip and cafes
Surrounds: Nice. Kangaroos all over the place and they don’t mind leaving their droppings anywhere and everywhere. Kids love them though.
Rooms: roomy but in need of sprucing up and very ancient. TV wouldn’t work, reportedly the signal fault the management says.
Other establishments seemed to be ok.
If I came back here to visit I doubt I would choose this motel
PETER BURQUEST — Google review
Fairly good accommodation, rooms are old fashioned which isn't a massive issue. The location is a 10/10 with a minute walk from the door of your room to the main street of Halls Gap. There are offered discounts for a restaurant nearby which is good as well. The indoor pool is fairly busy and small but is nicely heated to suit the cooler temperatures.
Shaun Reed — Google review
Accommodation is very basic, out dated and dirty. Our toilet leaked and we had no hot water in the shower. Thankfully we had a spa bath, which had hot water so we were still able to wash. Management offered for us to move to a smaller, more budget room but refused to refund the difference in price.
The only positive thing about this place is the location, right in the heart of the main street and restaurants.
Kate Sincock — Google review
This is a review of my opinion of the room I stayed in (Room 9), as other rooms might might have a different experience
Check in was ok, no problems and staff member was nice. Also warned that wifi might not be stable.
Room was clean and has that old australian motel small to it. Which was nice in its own way.
Couldn't connect to internet at all, tired multiple times with multiple devices.
Bathroom showered leaked, so had to put towels on the floor.
There's a sign that mentions no room cleaning service and please clean up after yourself. Which was easy enough.
Great location, right behind and walking distance (2 minute walk) from the main shop areas in Halls Gap

This place is situated right in the heart of Halls Gap, and the scenery is truly captivating, with mountains enveloping the area. Our group had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday party here, and the manager graciously provided us with the event room at no extra cost. Furthermore, I needed some extra rest due to illness, and the manager kindly extended our check-out time to accommodate. The price is pretty reasonable.

Great location, big rooms, Free parking. Kanguroos everywhere which was magical. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was delicious at a good price. It could have been a bit cleaner (spider webs and spiders everywhere) but I would visit again.

Reasonably priced accommodation. Central location, really close to Halls Gap village and a short drive to the various National Park carparks. The room was warm, comfortable, and clean. You are required to clean and dry your room's dishes before departing which would've been easier if a tea towel had been provided.
Callan Bird — Google review
Very poor service, check in was at 2.00pm we arrived and our room was not even cleaned the bedding was not changed from previous people and bathroom still had wet towels, the rooms are old and haven’t been up-kept.
I complained and had my room cleaned but the manager was very rude !!! You have to wash and put away your own dishes and you can’t sleep on the doona as that requires washing and you will be charged an extra $20.
The grounds are disgusting no maintenance has been done.
The only great thing is the indoor pool which I must add had to much chlorine so our eyes stung all night ! Definitely won’t be returning!!!!!
Olivia Walker — Google review
Older style, but large rooms, comfortable bedding etc, clean & tidy rooms, centrally located right in midst of shops etc. Paths & driveways are all gravel & were pretty muddy & puddles which you had to walk through from car to room. Always kangaroos around, reasonably priced.
Bob McGuire — Google review
Our stay was very comfortable, with plenty of space, good heating, including electric blankets on the bed (required when we stayed) and a well stocked kitchenette with large fridge. Although the accommodation is old, it is very well maintained and extremely clean.
Location was fantastic, with centre of town and all that it offers, only a 2 minute walk away (if that). Very, very quiet as property is filled with magnificent trees (and the birds that frequent or live in them), lawns and garden, with a couple of bbq and seating areas. Units are well spread out, in separate blocks surrounding all this. Not least is the fantastic view through the trees of the Grampians. Pinnacle Holiday Lodge is definitely a place to return to for us.
Jane Bolding — Google review
This accommodation was in a great location with only a very short walk straight through an alleyway from the lodge to the Main Street shops and restaurants.
As much as room was very spacious and well appointed that was as good as it gets. It was relatively clean but the kitchen left a lot to be desired. The drawers and cupboards were filthy and sticky in places. There was not dish cloth for cleaning the dishes and wiping down surfaces. Considering this room could accommodate at least four people there was no where near enough crockery and cutlery to serve more than two. The hairdryer in the bathroom whilst it worked, was almost in two pieces leaving it a very dangerous electrical appliance. The bed was very dated, hard and uncomfortable, as also were the pillows.
Julie Watkins — Google review
We spent two nights at the Pinnacle Holiday Lodge and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were large and comfortable, and it was fun watching the wallabies hop through the grounds. We enjoyed the location and it’s easy access to the Grampians and nearby restaurants/shops in Halls Gap
Cara Clayton — Google review
Arrived late on motorcycle trip. Expected rooms normally ready by 2 pm, but at 3.30 not ready.
Staff laughed it off. 2 rooms still not ready at 4 pm. Staff giggling as though nothing was out of place.
Then the room. Very run down, cracked and damaged air conditioner, very untidy, flouro in bathroom flickering.
Booked an executive room, sent to what looked like a back packers double roomed dormitory.
Grass all dead, unlike the appearance 12 months previous.
Pitiful, such a pity for a great location and a Business which was so good last trip.

This motel nestled close to nature offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle. Surrounded by scenic beauty, it's the perfect retreat for nature lovers. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and breathtaking views – what more could you ask for? Highly recommend for a rejuvenating getaway

The location is great.
We stayed there about 3 years ago and it wasn't too bad, this time you could see how much it's being neglected, the freezer was not usable as it was one big blo k of ice, hasn't been defrosted In years.
The bbq is not usable either, it was filthy.
The windows had thick cobwebs.
Yes it's a cheap place to stay but it's no excuse to leave it so dirty.
Marie Brincat — Google review
I only stayed one night, in late October. Primary advantage is central location, just behind the main shopping strip in Hall’s Gap. Our room had seen better days, carpet was quite worn and the walls needed a bit of a wash with sugar soap, seemed to be a bit darkened from soot from the gas log fire (the ceiling & walls around the fire were quite dark). The log fire itself ignited easily the first time we used it, couldn’t start it a second time. The hot tub spa & split cycle heater worked well though. The coffee table was propped up against a chair as one of its legs had fallen off. I only paid $162 for the night, whilst my expectations weren’t high for that price the room really needed a renovation to bring it up to a modestly reasonable standard.
Philip Johnston — Google review
Brilliant location.
Please get the carpets and furniture in each room professionally steam cleaned, they are filthy.
The indoor “heated” swimming pool is not heated. The playground is old and too dangerous for small kids to play on. The WIFI didn’t work in our room and we needed to walk outside closer to the middle of the “lodge” to get reception.
This lodge definitely requires some money being spend on updating the rooms, pool, wifi strength and play equipment.
Nestled at the base of the stunning Grampians mountain ranges, Halls Gap Zoo offers an enriching experience with over 160 species of native and exotic mammals, reptiles, and birds. This regional zoo is perfect for families, featuring animal encounters and endangered species breeding programs. The wheelchair-friendly 2.
Our family had a fantastic day at the Halls Gap Zoo. The zoo offers great experience with seeing many different kinds of animals! The animals are well looked after and they are very adorable! And if you buy the bag of the food, you can feed the animals like deer and wallabies! Happy experience for me to interact with the cute animals! Highly recommend to visit!

Excellent zoo. The animals are all really well cared for with well maintained enclosures.
Pathways and gates are accessible and well maintained. The walking is easy, even for people with mobility issues - there are plenty of places to rest along the way, too.
You get to see the animals better here than at Melbourne Zoo. The keepers are friendly and volunteer lots of great information.
The animal encounter experiences are excellent — super enjoyable and very informative.

We loved it here. What a great zoo!! There’s just something about being in a zoo where the animals appear more in their element. Definitely a must see if you’re visiting the area. Perhaps a tad expensive for entrance fee as it might deter other families from going to see and visit. There is no food facilities inside so make sure to bring some drinks and snacks.

Amazing place and so much to see this zoo will impress with it size amount of animals and how well kept and clean the place is. All the staff were super friendly from the staff feeding the animals to the coffee and food kart. Rhinos and giraffes were a surprise and really like the well placed play and rest areas for a lunch break. There are even bbqs for people to have a great time. Thanks again.

Great experience. The zoo is much bigger than expected. Expect to spend at least 3 hours here if walking around to every exhibit. Cute deer and really up and close experience with the cheetahs and giraffes. Quite unique and we think this is comparable to any of the major zoos like Werribee open range or Melbourne Zoo.

Absolutely love zoos and this was also amazing.
The staff were fantastic, we stopped a few of them to ask questions about the animals and each of them were friendly and told us alot.
We seen quite a few of the animals being feed which was fascinating..
Unfortunately the wallaby's and the kangaroos didn't want to come get the pellets today but that's ok we all have lazy days :).

Beautiful animals, and the staff were all absolutely wonderful. It was great to see them interact with the primates, it's clear they love and care for them so well.
It was difficult to see some of the animals in enclosures that were clearly too small (looking at you, crocodile), but there are plans to extend, which is great.
The day was HOT, do the lack of shade along the property was pretty noticeable.
The primates were so freaking cute and my wife and daughter had a ball in the meerkat experience. Definitely be going back💙

Had a great time! Deer roam free and eat from your hand unlike other animal attractions where kangaroo and wallaby are the norm. Nice variety of animals including a recent addition of Asian otters (on Good Friday 2023)! The enclosure for the otters is well done with a great viewing area of their swimming area. There are 2 playgrounds where the littles can release some energy. The swamp area maintained from an ancient spring is so natural you can imagine being transported back in time. The entire zoo is easy to traverse with prams or mobility equipment with exhibits having low viewing windows so everyone can enjoy all the animals. The zoo is growing and great things are happening. Will return often!

Such a cute little zoo!!! We got to pet lots of animals. It was just amazing, and not so many other people too.
So many different animals, and they are all so friendly and come right up to you. We loved the free-roaming deer ❤️
Lots under cunstruction, but totally worth the visit!

Amazing place! Recommended to do an animal encounter. They take high quality photos and email it to you included in the encounter price. Easy to get around for wheelchair user. Majority of the grounds are flat and accessible! The viewing of animals are great. Set up well! Buying tickets online didn't make much of a difference when entering zoo. But it was hardly a line when we entered , sunday morning 11am

Having grown up in Halls Gap when I was much younger, I don't think I knew this zoo existed back then. Imagine my surprise when I moved back into the area and heard about the zoo!
In what is a wonderfully spread out and quite open zoo, the interactions with a number of animals was absolutely lovely and wonderful.
I'd gladly go back again. The animal experiences are quite fantastic too. I had a lovely time with the dingos! Hoping to experience the Meerkats next!

Highly recommend the Zoo, wear comfortable shoes as you will get your steps up. The zoo is well maintained and the variety of great animals is impressive. The deer run wild in the common areas, which you can feed with pellets that you can purchase when buying your tickets.

Been to a few zoos travelling around, we also got the personal rhino encounter which was awesome, staff were great, animals just wandering around that you can pat (deer), a very natural Australian bush feel with more of a up close and personal approach to looking at and learning about different animals....if you love the wild.... Come to this place.... 👌👌👍

Had a great day at the halls gap zoo. $50 meerkat experience was brilliant value, and I’ve never been so close to rhinos. Great for all ages, friendly staff, interactive for kids and just a bloody good time. Better than most city zoo’s by far.

Lovely place to visit, all the animals are so cute and staff are lovely :)
The deer that roam around are very friendly but make sure you have a good grip on the treat bags, they have a habit of tipping the feed all over the ground
Jessi — Google review
Gorgeous zoo based at the foot of the Grampians that allows you to wander at your own pace through the exhibits. Very up close interactions with the animals who are well taken care of with plenty free roaming that you can feed. Brilliant staff who are super friendly and helpful.
Emma newton — Google review
What an awesome wildlife zoo!! Zookeeper was super friendly and happy to chat/educate us as she was feeding the animals. It was quite hot when we went so we didn't see some animals as they were hiding and keeping cool (which also meant we didn't get to see the baby capuchin monkey!) The deer were ravenous for the food and I wish we had gone for more than 2 packets as we got through it so quickly and one specific deer kept gnawing at my shirt to get more food 😂
The best part was feeding the wallabies as they are so gentle and sweet but not all animals are food focused so don't be sad if one ignores you. Lots of animals roaming around and you will definitely get a good amount of steps in. If it weren't so warm, we would have gone around twice again.
The souvenir shop was great and I was a little indecisive but the staff are great and I don't mind splurging a bit more since it's going to a zoo. Great selection of stuff!

Always an amazing experience to visit Halls Gap Zoo. I went specifically to see their baby spotted tailed quolls and was not disappointed. Their staff let me know when to expect feeding and their most active times and the keeper who did the feeding was incredible.

Zoo Keeper for a Day - the most AMAZING experience!!!
My husband and I did the Zoo Keeper for a day Experience for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. This is an experience that is well worth the money and a must for anybody that enjoys being at a zoo. Our Zoo Keepers for the Day were Tara, Jules, Lilly, Marcus and Steph. All of the Zoo Keepers were magnificent and full of knowledge and energy. Each Zoo Keeper answered our questions and made us feel a part of the Halls Gap Zoo Family. From Meerkats, birds, wombats, wallabies, rhinos, donkeys, lizards, dingos, giraffes, red pandas and cheetahs just to name a few the Halls Gap Zoo has a wide variety of animals and is privately owned. We went into our experience without any expectations not knowing what we were going to experience. By the end of the day we were so thrilled with the day that we had we wanted to recommend this experience to everyone! Do yourself a favour and head to the zoo you will not be disappointed! Make sure you say hi to Jale, Tara, Jules, Lilly, Marcus and Steph they are all so amazing and such an asset to the zoo.

Unsure to what has gone on here in the past or what the future plans are. the place has so much potential yet it would appear to be on hold/paused/mothballed …. just not sure. 🤔 Worthy of a walk around.

The original building which has been here for years is closed sign says it’s going to be renovated. The information centre has little information available which I was very disappointed. There is a gift shop but was a bit expensive. Was hoping to get a good map with clearly showed all the wonderland and surrounds walks. There doesn’t seem to be one available anywhere in Halls Gap. inside there is also a cafe which was closed, possibly effected by covid lack of staff. It has a lovely outside eating area. So when that is open as I assume it will be at some point or maybe only in peak times it would be a lovely lunch spot. There is a couple of walking tracks but not much to get exited about. Lots of parking.

I remember when this was being built and although it still looks good, some of the displays are getting tired, although the information is still good.
Located just outside of Halls Gap you can walk or ride along well made paths.
Inside is a small cafe where you can dine on fresh food and refreshments.
Outside are some excellent interpretation boards that give a history of the area and the life prior to white settlement.
The retail shop is extensive with lots of interesting items.
There is plenty of parking under the shaded gums. The place is wheelchair friendly and in fact you can motor on your wheelchair from town to the centre.
Very kid friendly with lots for the little ones to do.
I would say you could spend at s minimum and hour here. There are tours available as well.
Enjoy.

Staff seemed completely disinterested in even beginning to assist with explaining the layout of the place when you walk in. From what I could gather from wandering around, it is supposed to be an educational centre, but all the different buildings were closed and the grounds were all overgrown and dilapidated looking. I was hoping to learn some information about the indigenous people of the surrounding area, but there wasn't really anything informative there. Pretty disappointing for something like this in such a high traffic location like Halls Gap.

The staff are friendly, welcoming and full of knowledge that they are happy to share.
The artwork and items for sale are all authentic Indigenous, which is really important for integrity and for the artists creating such beautiful items. Lots of choices for fabulous gifts here!
There is a good range of books to extend and deepen one’s knowledge — there is always more to learn— and lots of free information for visitors and campers in the area.

The Brambuk the National Park & Cultural Centre is an excellent information facility located in Halls Gap to visit. It is in quick walking distance from the town centre along a well designated path. Staff are knowledgable and friendly, offering good advice on the features of the region. Maps for the various parts of the park and walking trails are available for purchase. Within the centre, the outline of indigenous history in the area is respectful and informative. The designated walks within the park and fairly easy and many forms of wonderful flora and fauna are to be seen. Brumbuk is well worth a visit if in Halls Gap!

There’s a little walking trail here but nothing special. Better off going to Halls Gap Botanical Gardens if you’re looking for a nice easy stroll. I was in and out of the centre for 2 mins. One of the most under rated Cellar's I have been to. Bests is the second oldest winery in Australia and the Cellar door has been preserved from the time it was the original Wine Cellar building. The journey up the driveway is a real feeling oof going back in time. The tasting is a really fun experience and the staff are well trained and knowledgable. Make sure you do the little tour into the old cellar.

We stopped by this Winery out of pure random chance and how glad we were that we did. The self guided tour through the original underground cellar was awesome and we spotted so many really old wines in there. What an experience and story behind the winery. Best of all, they make really good wine. I've never had a red bubbly before but that was interesting. I'm a port lover and I loved the full range of port wine they offered. The premium tasting was so worth it and we're going to be ordering more bottles once we've been through the stash we bought. Thank you for the great service!

He told us so much about the Seppelt history in such an engaging way that you would love to know more about this place. Everyone should try this place out for different experiences like staying here, want to have dine ỉn experience, underground tour and want to book Seppelt hall for upcoming big gatherings. We did the 3pm tour. It was informative and interesting. You get to see the original old tunnels and equipment. We finished off with the premium tasting which was worthwhile. Even bought a couple of bottles. A great addition to any Grampians holiday.

The highlight was the tour and our tour guide Ricky who was extremely enthusiastic and funny. Very interesting and unique tour of the cellar. I highly recommend it as it's really impressive.
The tour is $22 including tasting. It lasts 1h.
Unfortunately the sparkling wine wasn't really good for my personal taste.

A great experience and insight into the history of the Seppelts Winery. The underground cellar tour was amazing. Ricky our tour lead was great and communicated the aspects of the sites history very well.

Very interesting tour of the underground wine cellars. Very knowledgeable guide. Great ground available for picnics. Lovely little cafe with a range of wines and related products to try, cheese platters available as well.

Fantastic and must-do Tour of the Underground Cellars, a very unique experience. Colin was a great storyteller and very knowledgeable. Wines are excellent and we’d love to return for the underground dining experience. Highly recommended!!!

My husband, and I thoroughly enjoyed the underground tour. Our guide Ricky was personable and very knowledgeable. So much history attached to this site! We are still enjoying our sparkling purchases.

What an exceptional tour. The guide was fantastic, funny and adaptable. My wife has bilateral cochlear and he kept checking in to make sure she could hear and was next to her most the time. The wine tasting was great too. Those tunnels have more history than you might think. Be aware there are stairs into cellar they are 2 flights of 10 ish stairs. And nowhere to sit on tour after initial talk.

The underground tour at Seppelt Great Western is really incredibly interesting and very well led by Ricky. They have 3 kilometres of underground tunnels (called drives) which were dug over a period of 60 years, mostly by gold miners who were no longer finding gold. The tunnels were used for housing 3 million bottles of sparkling wine! These days the bottles are stored elsewhere and the tunnels are part of a museum. They also do dinners in an underground dining room which would be awesome.
The tasting following the tour was great - - it included 4 different styles of sparkling wine. Personally I loved the sparkling Shiraz. Additionally you can taste other Seppelt wines for $10 or a premium tasting for $25
It is a magical thing to do, full of history in a wonderful little Victorian town, called Great Western. It’s only 2 hours & 20 minutes from Melbourne. Well worth the trip.

The tour was such a gem. Our tour guide Ricky was a great character, super nice and friendly. The winery has such an amazing history and such a beautiful cellar (the biggest in the southern hemisphere as we found out). Highly recommend!

If you are in the Grampians region this is a must do.
The tour of the historical winery was so interesting.
Our tour guide Ricky, was so friendly and helpful. He made the experience informative and fun. His knowledge of the history of the winery was amazing and his ability to speak to the group was incredible.
Thank you Ricky for making our large group tour such a memorable experience.
The tour is $22 and goes for about 1 hour and you will be guided through the historically underground cellar tunnels and wine making facilities.
It includes a tasting of some of their most famous wines and the sparkling Shiraz is truly unique.
The deep dive dinner includes 3 courses served in the cellar tunnels with unlimited wines. Delicious food and such friendly service. Thank you Ricky. You made our experience at Seppelt truly memorable. 😊

We had a wonderful time on our Underground tour today with friends and with our wonderful guide Colin who had a great knowledge of the history of Seppelt Winery. The tunnels were amazing and the whole tour was much better than we expected and would even had wine and champagne tastings at the end, included in the price. A wonderful day and would do it again

I had the pleasure of visiting this winery, and Ricky was truly exceptional. His knowledge and personal touch added so much to the experience. Learning about the region's history and the winery's inner workings was fascinating. Ricky's expertise truly elevated the cellar door visit. The underground tunnels were truly awesome, you can truly feel the history down there. It's definitely worth a vist. My only suggestion would be to seamlessly blend the old-world charm of the tunnels with a more modern cellar door/venue. This place has all the elements to become a world-class venue. The staff, the wines, and the rich history are fantastic. Hats off to the family leasing the cellardoor.

Went to Seppelt on a Tuesday and we did a wine tasting and tour with our amazing guide Ricky. Ricky was engaging and funny as well as very knowledgeable! We really enjoyed our day. Thanks Ricky and Seppelt! Regards Kate and Eddie 🍷☺️
Awesome looks you get up there! But be careful when driving up the hill, our 2wd Camper overheated.

I recently visited the One Tree Hill Lookout in Ararat and was absolutely captivated by the breathtaking views it offers. Perched atop a hill, this lookout provides an unparalleled panorama of the surrounding countryside.
The journey to the lookout itself is an adventure, with well-maintained trails and easy access. If you don't want to walk, the lookout is only a short taxi ride away from the town. Upon reaching the summit, I was greeted by a sweeping vista that seemed to stretch on forever. The sight of Ararat township nestled amidst rolling hills is nothing short of picturesque.
It can get very cold and windy during the colder months. Please do layer up based on the weather.

Very good views, worth the drive especially for sunrise!

Definitely worth the trip up as the views of the surrounding area are magnificent Overlooking the township of Ararat and the wind farms to the east, and the majestical ridge line of the Grampians to the west. There are a number of picnic tables and lots of grassed area to sit and enjoy the views.

I got scared about the steep drive and didn't go the first time in Ararat but when I came back I tried it and it wasn't that bad plus the views are incredible and the photos never do it justice! Stayed up there for a while soaking it all in, does it get cold!

Quick drive up a sealed road to this 360 degree lookout. Can see the Grampians, the town of Ararat and the wind farm in the distance. A few more picnic tables wouldn’t go a stray. Lovely spot though
Though you might not expect it, Cavendish's unassuming Bunyip is easily the best dining experience in Victoria.
All the produce is fresh, the food thoughtful, simple and constantly-changing to best make use of what is in-season and locally available.
This time around we had croquettes, tempura-battered stuffed zucchini flowers, duck galentine with plum sauce, cold tomato soup, slow roasted pork shoulder with a pavlova and nougat parfait for desert. All were stellar.
It's made even better by the atmosphere. Easily the least pretentious place you can experience food of this quality at. Your might be between an insufferable marketing executive and a local bowls club. Between an artist and four guys on their way back from a rabbit shoot.
It's all helped along by the lovely wait staff (Hetty and Olivia, in this case).
I couldn't recommend it enough and will be back in another few months.

The Bunyip has what the restaurants in Melbourne attempt to recreate but just can’t - authenticity. Great food, amazing hospitality and genuine charm. We always love the Sunday Chef’s specials. Well worth a visit if you’re in South West Victoria.
Chris Piggott — Google review
This place is legendary and for good reason. We booked the chefs table lunch on Sunday and were so impressed with the quality of the food and service. Every meal was utterly divine. The exquisite mushroom and cheese croquettes, hand cured salmon, pork belly and brisket cooked to absolute perfection. And to top it off a sublime lemon tart that was really more a citrus creme brulee in tart form. The chefs table changes week to week so I can't wait to go back and try it again!

We had a fantastic night at the Bunyip (helped along by a delicious bottle of local Bochara Pinot) Stayed the night and enjoyed the 5 course chef's selection. The food was beautiful, the atmosphere enchanting and the staff made you feel like one of the family. A Thursday night, the bar was full of locals and the dinning room drew people from far and wide. They have definitely done it right and got the city/country balance perfect. Well worth the detour on our way home from SA and we will be back for a longer stay in the future. Put it on your "to do list" and visit the Bochara winery while you are there.

Excellent meal of amazing flavours and quality, bbq brisket on perfect mashpaired with crispy fried Brussel sprouts that complimented very well. Thanks for the fantastic tucker!
A beautiful place to go see, worth the drive from Mount Gambier. Dogs are welcome but must stay on their lead. An easy path to get to and viewing platform that wheelchairs and prams can go too. There's long drop toilets there, including a wheelchair access toilet. There's shelter and bbq areas as well as easy ample parking. Free place to visit.

Worth a visit.
The rock formation/layers that produced the overhang is so interesting.
Plus it's a waterfall... how can you go wrong (ok... if there is a drought and it hasn't rained, that could be a problem).
Peter Cornell — Google review
Beautiful area to view but the facilities, namely toilets are drop toilets in a building that is infested with spiders, the toilets clearly aren't cleaned with any regularity so the smell and the appearance as beyond disgusting.
It's far enough out the families should use the rest room before they leave, the elderly and children should take particular care.

Despite not being the volume of water previously seen in the last 12 months the falls were an absolute surprise given the rolling countryside. Take the 5 minute detour and the 2 minute walk and see an awesome falls.

Phenomenal falls to view... these and Nigretta Falls are both beautiful and easy to get to, with the viewing platforms being a few steps from the car parks. Highly recommend... maybe its because of all the rain lately, but both falls were full on - absolutely beautiful!

I just want to reiterate that changing timber seats for aluminium seats is not a great idea. Someone who travels and uses parks all the time. The cold alumini and seats on your butt are absolutely horrored .
They need to be replaced because then I'll be replaced with timber ones which would also be more aesthetic to the environment .
There's a community group that look after this area I just want to say thanks.
It's also nice the big oval for the kangaroos to have a safe place as well.
Thanks to the fellow for bringing over the Pinewood for the campfire.
No matter what anyone says This is encouraging bringing in people into an area even if they're not paying for accommodation in a caravan park that's only 5% of the money that they actually spend in the local community.
I understand they're doing update sheds to stop the wind that's really nice but I still think you maintain that mountain cottage fill with a beautiful red gum seat rather than replace them.
Timber has a nice feel whereas I've seen tables replaced in other parts with aluminium or plastic benches and they're really cold to sit on.
Anyway I just want to put forward a vote for keeping the old seats there's nothing wrong with them.
I noticed in the bin it's got hips and heaps of those recycled $0.10 coin cans and bottles and things One of those big mesh depositories are good because you can see all the cans and people don't just jump rubbish in them This would be a good way to do something environmentally conscious and raise a few bucks at the same time.
The nice fella Brian and his lovely wife Heather mentioned there were thoughts to open up the football field I kind of like it nice and open the kangaroos love it too but if you did want to do it and you were concerned about hoons doing burnouts and getting in there and that sort of thing what you need to do is put pine stump logs like you've got around the campground making a driveway in and then surrounding areas for campsites This way you won't get any hoons.

A beautiful destination, but would suggest to come down during end of winter or during spring season.
A pleasant, peaceful park to walk around. Path around and across the small lake. Wood carvings near the old Sawmill. Great views to the Grampian mountain range.

Nothing really dramatic but a nice area for a walk, stroll or a picnic. Nice little bridge looking over the wetlands and some lilypads. Nothing really impressive.

This is a very encouraging project, with the goal of having yes from all around the world. They have a wide selection of plants, all nicely labelled. It's rare to see an arboretum in it's early days - most trees are still in their youth - but in years to come this week be magnificent. Big lake there too, with several types of frogs; you can press a button to hear the sounds that they make.

I have given 4 stars for this Aboretum as I admire the work involved both in creating and maintaining this project. You are able to drive through, sit by a beautiful pond, picnic under shady trees with kangaroos or walk for exercise. No fee fir entry. Well done Dunkeld I will return.

A very relaxing and peaceful place to get away from it all.
Impressive. The fellow who designed these gardens was also the conservator of the Melbourne botanical gardens. His influence is evident in the flowing lawns and beautiful specimen trees.
Gorgeous place to wander or sit for a while. There were a few people having picnic lunch when I was there.
Love that the bridge has been rebuilt like the 1920's one.
The bandstand has it's history recorded and it's worth walking down the North West for the historical elements including an oak planted in 1880.

What a great place to stop and explore. We love botanic gardens so we wanted to check this one out when we found it on the map, there was heaps of parking for our caravan at the front. There is a variety of different sections in the garden to see, it was very green and pretty. It’s an easy stroll around and toilets are available here.

Beautiful gardens with some lovely historic aspects.
We visited in winter when many trees were bare, but the gardens were still lush, green and varied.
However, some of the paths are poorly maintained and pose a significant tripping or falling hazard to anyone who, like me, has mobility issues or is unsteady on their feet.

Picturesque park with a tranquil crater lake & nature trails for picnicking, camping & bushwalking.
Visited as part of a caving trip with the Scouts Victoria Caving team. This national park celebrates the lava fields of a dormant volcano and contains hundreds of caves and crevices both discovered and undiscovered.
The camp ground is great it requires booking and payment via Parks Victoria.
If you are considering going caving please strongly consider taking part in a formal guided tour with reputable qualified and experienced guides, caving can be dangerous and must be treated with caution.
