Very interesting short walk in the close vicinity to Agnes Waters.
I went there after the rains so the water was right up to the boardwalk and at places an inch higher.
The paperbark trees make a very interesting backdrop to the boardwalk experience.
Be careful when wet as there is a good chance you might mis a step and land up in the water .
Ample parking.

Lovely board walk with stepping stone type feature.
Picnic area at the start of the walk which the trail loops back too.
The walk makes for lovely photos.
Not a trail walk for wheelchair bound
No toilet facilities available however the trail is not far from the town.
Worth dropping in for a look.

A lovely place for a stroll through some nature an a paper bark tree Forrest, the pathway is flat an its only some 400mtrs long, most the walk is on a cpl raised planks not far off the ground an the short places with raised steps can easily be walked alongside for the people that aren't to stable.
steven robson — Google review
Short and very lovely walk.
400 meters long, so it will only take around 5-10 minutes max.
It looks like something from some magical books.
The trees are so beautiful.
Well worth it !!
Giulia — Google review
The paperbarks and climbing maiden hair ferns are stunning. A beautiful short walk. The narrow timber walkways and "stepping stone" pillars are a refreshing change from the typical imposing boardwalks.
David Bonnell — Google review
Beautiful place to stretch and seeing something different. Highly recommended! Its a loop track, either way is just the same fun. Better in the dry season.
Wak Julet — Google review
I've been here a couple of times both in the wet and dry season. This place is stunning anytime but the novelty of taking your shoes of and experiencing it in the wet season is a must. A easy, stunning walk if you have balance. There's pillars and narrow board walks so not ideal for those who need any kind of assistance.
Jenny Filipov — Google review
Amazing little walk, only short and great for young kids
Aussie Painter — Google review
Easy 400m walk through a small section of forest including paperbark, climbing maidenhair and palm. Rated as a level 3 walk due to raised stepping stones.
Anita B — Google review
400m of a flat walk along boardwalks, sandy trails, and fun round cement steps.
The paperbark trees are mature and confident in their place. Lots of ferns cover the forest floor and hug the base of trees.
The light shifts constantly here with the wind allowing rays of sun to cast through to the lower forest below, an ever changing natural lightshow.
Highly enjoyable easy walk.
Jennifer H — Google review
Very worth the short walk. Feels lush and almost other-worldly. The narrow boardwalk and the occasional raised step-treads were fun features. I had never seen climbing maidenhair fern before!

Wow, randomly stumbled across this little gem. Just a very short walk around the loup and track. My partner helped a lady across as she was a bit unstable on her feet. It's an incredible little hidden beauty. Highly recommend.

Great day and awesome staff. Such a wonderful place to visit and the crew made the day better. Make sure you take seasickness tablets as the bar crossing can be rough. Highly recommended this trip if visiting 1770/Agnes area.

What fabulous day out. The crew were great , so friendly and helpfully. The reef snorkeling was amazing , so full of sea life every were you looked. I highly recommend taking this trip if you are in 1770.

Awesome tour. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Travelling with 7 grand children. Yep and one got sea sick on the way in. Staff were on hand to assist.
Food was great and having fresh fruit on the way in was a treat.
Snorkeling was the highlight. We are blessed to have such a place in our back yard. I am from Brisbane.

The ocean was rough but we made it! Lady Musgrave Island is gorgeous. Snorkelling was amazing lots of sea life and corals. Food was okay. Except mechanical problem and 3 hours delay at the end of the tour, we had a fun day and staff made it great. Thank you for smiley faces and friendly service.

Scuba diving with turtles was the best thing I've EVER done! Absolutely loved this experience, and we picked the PERFECT day for it too. Sunshine, low winds, high visibility, and loads of green turtles. I will never forget this experience, and especially the last minute booking for scuba diving. I was a little nervous because it was my first time, but our guide was so easy and helped us learn the basics. I got to enjoy the best 45 minutes underwater of my life, swimming alongside clown fish, turtles and the most incredible reef/corals. The crew were very polite the entire time, very knowledgable and wanted us to get the most for our money/time possible. They certainly went the extra step to allow us the freedom we desired, and I felt very safe with them the entire time.
Sam Young — Google review
Totally amazing day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Saw lots of turtles, fish and coral. Including a live turtle hatching making their way to the water. Provided plenty of flexibility to prioritize activities we wanted, but we did the set program.
Chilli dog (Chillidog) — Google review
What an awesome day trip. Definitely take some sea sickness tablets as the trip out there is long and rocky. I highly recommend this trip if you like turtles because you will see heaps of them. The island was pretty but if I go again I’d more likely snorkel and dive the entire time as it’s just beautiful. Highly recommend doing the dive getting up close to the reef is like nothing else you will ever do.

This tour/trip would have to be up there with one of the most amazing days we have had. The crew were absolutely awesome, the food was delicious and plentiful. Saw the most amazing underwater scenery while snorkeling. Lady Musgrave is majestic. Would definitely recommend doing this trip.

Awesome experience! Snorkeling in clear water surrounded by hundreds of fish, turtles and sharks is simply amazing. Seen large turtles on the island tour, and whales on the way back to 1770. Boat stopped and turned to let people see the whales, great service!
Maarten Veerman — Google review
Highly recommend using this tour group ,not only did we observe their ethical and professional conduct,we had an absolutely amazing snorkel and tour -great food and fun.
Take your sea sickness tabs …as it can be rough !
Unfortunately the same could not be said with another operator tour company that we watched a crew member walk over the turtle nests in a critical time of Turtles laying.

We loved every part of the tour..... Except a bit of sea sickness. But the day itself was magnificent. I was petrified to get in the water but I did it and I loved it.the turtles were right there in the water while we were snorkelling.... Special memories of this moment

Amazing day! The staff and crew were fantastic throughout. Lady Musgrave is a phenomenal location for snorkelling and such an easy trip from 1770. The ride out was a bit bumpy, so recommend taking travel sickness tablets if you suffer from seasickness.

Amazing 👍👍👍👍👍
Kev, Neil the skipper (and owner) and the team behind them helped make our day out on the Paradise Tour absolutely unforgettable.
Knowledgeable crew who are real cheerleaders for the area, fauna and flora, helped make it a highlight of our holiday.
Give it a go if you're up that way, (and make it a destination if you're not) you will not be disappointed.
Great guides, incredible landscape, amazing wildlife, fantastic food, transport like you won't believe, sand dune body boarding, swimming in creeks, dolphins, eagles, haunted lighthouses, murder - mystery and mayhem!!!

We did the 1 hour tour, really enjoyed it, looks of knowledge on the history of 1770, local wild life and the history of the LARC.
Neil was a great guide, good humor and dad jokes.
There is a great array of business’s around the marina to visit while you are waiting to jump on the LARC, fresh fish and chips, cafe, little bar on the waters edge, have a massage our buy gifts in the boutique shops.
Next time we are down will return to do the day tour up to the lighthouse - this would be a good group activity.

We did the full day tour. Very highly recommended. A unique experience is definitely the best way to describe this adventure. Beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife, knowledgeable guides that are actually funny. Lots of history and even fun activities. Highly recommend the sand boarding 50m down and into the water...

Epic day with legends Ant and Kev on Easter Monday. A lot of information and entertainment, with a ripper lunch after the lighthouse tour.
Sandboarding was a treat, unfortunately the bruises won't last forever to remember it by.
Excellent day on the whole.
Reuben Stead — Google review
We had a fantastic time on the hour-long afternoon cruise (that magically coincided with sunset!).
The cruise itself was wonderful and smooth (considering the pink *giant* we boarded), enjoyed with a couple of soft drinks we were allowed to take onboard.
We managed to stopover at the Eurimbula National Park across from the 1770 sand flats to catch the golden hour, search for shells and bird watch with the help of our tour guide. It was fantastic!
But what really topped off the experience was our tour guide (Jess?) - they were incredibly informative, witty and interactive with the passengers onboard to round off the 10/10 experience. Their parking was exemplary too.
If you're in 1770, get yourself on a LARC tour!
Jethro Harrison-West — Google review
Such a great time! Information on the tour was interesting, was fun to be able to transition so easily from land to water. Will have to come back for a longer cruise, we just did the afternoon one.

Sophie Hall — Google review
We did the full day Paradise tour and I'm so glad we did. At first I was a little worried that the day was going to drag because it was cold and overcast and it seemed a long time to be doing a tour but it was awesome. Kev was the funniest, liveliest guide who seemed very passionate about his job but also about the area and history. The way he spoke made the tour and learning about the history and location so enjoyable. The skip was awesome also. Thry made a great team. The larc is cool to ride in, something a bit different. The lunch provided was delicious. The tour of the the lighthouse was interesting. Everyone loved the sand tobogganing to warm up a bit on the cold day. We had a group of young children, teens and adults and everyone loved it!

We didn’t have good weather, but we had the best tour guide and skip to make the day memorable regardless! Highly recommend doing this tour, it’s one of the best I’ve ever been on!

Had a nice walk around. The different groupings of trees were interesting. The information centre and kiosk were closed (no explanation or sign why). Everything was very well maintained and accessible otherwise. We did a part of the loop walk up the mountain but only didn’t do the full walk due to the heat.
Popular waterfront park with play equipment & a spray ground for kids, plus BBQ grills.
This place is awesome! Something for absolutely everyone! Great amenities, BBQ,s play areas, toilets, and undercover free gym/exercise area...well done Gladstone top spot!.

Had last visited Gladstone in 2000 and arrived here in early 2024 to find this excellent waterpark and expansive landscaped waterfront parkland. We couldn’t access the lookout as it was under redevelopment but when finished it too is sure to be magnificent. Several restaurants in the precinct make this a must visit place in Gladstone.

Gladstone eastshore is the place to visit on a hot dry day with the children. There is plenty to do for the little ones or for that matter the big ones. Sit in the shade and enjoy the cooling breeze as the children play under the water fountains. Tried to get as many pictures to give a dramatic effect but doesn’t do it justice. Bring some food and drinks with you and enjoy. Cheers big ears

A well maintained area with plenty of play areas for children, BBQ facilities for budding chefs, a wet area for budding mermaids and fitness facilities for upcoming athletes. What a great place this was. As first time visitors to Gladstone we were stoked to stumble upon east shores. So much to explore! The kids loved the splash park and the shaded areas to sit. The playground options were great - would be a great place for kids birthday parties. Plenty of toilet and change facilities, open spaces, marine museum and the boardwalk. Very cool.

The East Shores is a delightful water park, this small area offers small kids a place to cool down and get wet. Although a warm day the cool breaze was coming through the second you were wet you would cool down. The park has a great space for parents to sit, a public toilet and ample seating. Afterwards we even stopped at the connected playgroud to dry down in the sun. Lovely day, enjoyable for most with a great view of the gladstone shores.

Went while visiting Gladstone because it was supposedly dog friendly. No poop bag dispensers seen, and not many bins when trying to offload poop bag.
Spinnaker Cafe on site had excellent wraps.

Great Board walk remembering the ANZAC's The singing ship was humming today along with beautiful weather to spend at the Capricorn Coast😊
Susan Little — Google review
A very inviting and intriguing sculpture with a great view.
We enjoyed an easy walk along a short stretch of coastline and up to the Singing Ship. The music is surprising and beautiful. I would have appreciated a plaque or board nearby to explain how it sings and maybe the reason it was created. These are things that we can mull over on our own, but with kids in tow it's always nice to throw a bit of science and learning into the experience.

Emu Park is a lovely little town, singing ship monument is different & the Anzac walk is good to. Easy to get to for little ones & the elderly.

Beautifully designed monument with spectacular views. A must visit

Beautiful park, walk and gardens around the singing ship. We heard the ship singing. The boardwalk around is beautiful with stunning scenery. The Anzac memorial absolutely gorgeous. Well worth visiting.

I visited this spot 40 years ago. The council has done a great job with landscaping, partners, viewing decks and information boards. Best view on the coast across to so many islands. Well worth the stop.
Rob Cosgrove — Google review
So engaging with the RSL boardwalk and to hear the chimes when the wind is higher was a good way to enjoy Emu Park township. The video couldn't pick them up very well. It means you'll just have to go and see for yourself.

This is an amazing experie3. The first time I visited, there were strong winds and as a consequence strong sounds from the pipes. The next time there was just a light breeze and the sound was so different. I loved both.

Such a lovely location to have the Singing Ship and it sounds so good. The RSL memorial display and walk is quite emotional, very well done. Well worth a visit.

This is a beautiful spot to visit. The views are magnificent overlooking the beach and out towards the kepples. The foot bridge links with the rsl memorial walk. A must to see when in the area.

It was very windy when we visited and it was good that it was making noise but definitely, make it a day when it's not blowing like crazy.

Very good,we saw a whale 🐳with our binoculars from the lookout 👀

It's a lovely view although the sound of the singing ship has been replaced with cheap plastic that doesn't make the heavenly sound it originally had. God bless
Amazing!!! Great tour guide!! Easy on the eyes too 😉 all jokes aside, great value for money. Very informative! Get to see croc feeding straight through the fence a couple metres away! AND you get to hold one!! You should arrive an hour earlier so you can try crocodile in the cafe!

Great experience with the family. Guide was knowledgeable with all aspects of the farm as he had hands on experience in each role. Closest I have ever been to a crocodile and it's unlikely will ever find another place that lets you get that close. We had lunch there as well which was tasty and good value, I thought the help yourself salad and sauce bar was a great idea which other restaurants should do. Daughter loved patting her first baby croc.

Two 1hr 30min tours per day, 10.30am and 1.00pm,
Must book.
Was an amazing excursion with guide being extremely knowledgeable, professional and humorous.
These are very impressive animals up close.
Also this farm is a 100% conservationist set up run by an Aussie family with a great story.

What a great place to take the kids! Incredible hosts that are not only passionate about what they do, but very entertaining! My kids loved every second of the tour, especially getting up close and holding the little crocs.
I really love the naming plaques of each enclosure.. really describes the personality of the Alligator (?) In them. A lovely restaurant setting with a kiosk and souvenir shop.

Had a great time at the 10am tour. Guide was funny and made the tour entertaining with his knowledge and stories about specific crocs on the farm. Didn’t try the food, but looked pretty tasty and fresh. Really friendly staff.

Visited the crocs on a weekday so it wasn’t too crowded and went along on the guided tour. The guide was very knowledgeable about crocs and delivered the information in an engaging manner. Overall an interesting experience as you also get the chance to touch and hold a baby croc.
We also tried the crocodile meat as pictured in the kebabs and the laksa. Very juicy and tasty meat, would have loved to try their pies too which is a supposed popular recommendation.

What a great experience! Loved seeing the crocodiles and alligators. Would have loved to see more of them even.
The level of knowledge that the hosts have is mind blowing. I could have asked questions all day.
And loved that I got to taste crocodile flesh for the first time.
Holding the baby croc was also a highlight.
Thank you for a great day!

Great experience. Very informative and the owners/hosts goes out of their way to show their interest and lifestyle.
The couple with us in the group had a 2 year old. He was picked up and enjoyed it all as well.
It was my first time trying crocodile and I enjoyed the skewers from the kitchen.

Excellent! 6 stars. Great informative tour. Loved seeing all the crocodiles being fed. Very friendly guide. We also stayed for lunch and loved the food. Happy to contribute any way we can to support their endeavour to save crocodiles and to promote healthy awareness about crocodiles' behaviour.

We visited Koorana crocodile farm today as we were on holiday not too far away In Yeppoon family of 4 ages 4 & 13. We had a marvellous time the tour was both entertaining and informative and the children were fascinated with these incredible creatures as was I and my partner and we even got to see a crocodile hatch from an egg. The tour guide Adam was extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend you visit

First time here today, and what an amazing experience to encounter these prehistoric creatures. Everyone should come here not only to learn about these beautiful creatures but also every dollar helps toward the conservation. We need crocodiles 🐊 and everyone needs to respect them and their habitats. After all, this is their surroundings. It's awesome to see the original founder of this park still interacting and just as passionate about his vision and his love for crocodiles. The crocodile we got to hold was sick at birth so john hand fed the croc for a month to make it eat to survive. Amazing man

Friendly family atmosphere - wealth of knowledge and experience, and love for the crocodiles. Loved being part of the experience of the egg harvest for Wart and Princess. Our meals were all enjoyed, and the chili-coconut milk sauce with the kebabs was so good! Conner and Lisa did a great job of guiding us as well as waiting on everyone at the till.

Absolutely great experience for young & old. Connor, the guide, knows his Crocs! From watching a baby croc hatch to croc feeding, holding a baby croc & trying crocodile meals. This place has it all! So many HUGE crocs! Well done, guys!! Best place to visit hands down!!

Had a great morning tour today. Tour guide (the founders son) was incredibly funny, knowledgeable and welcoming. Great information passed on about the amazing creatures with a nod to the past and continuing conservation effort for salties. Saw two gators which they had rescued from being pts, lovely creatures. All staff were polite and friendly, food was good too. I really appreciated the emphasis they put on making people aware of the dangers of crocs, and how to handle them rather than just using them as a quick but costly ‘photo opportunity’. Would very much recommend for all.

Great place to visit. All a little run down but worth it, tried eating croc for the first time, very nice, just like chicken just a bit firmer

Enjoyed checking out the croc farm! Very interesting stuff, lots to learn about and quite neat how you can get close to everything compared to some other places and you just watch from a distance.
We had Connor running our tour, he was friendly and informative, made it a great time, even when some of the crocs were being a bit cheeky!

Jacob led our tour after some time off and told us he was a bit rusty and that he hated public speaking…. Well if that’s him on a bad day we are coming back to see him on a good day and we’ll pay double because it was worth every cent! Both Jacob and Connor were amazing tour guides, very informative, friendly and funny and happy to answer any question asked. We learnt more than we were expecting and got up close and personal with some amazing creatures!!
Very beautiful and clean great for all ages. Fully fenced playground for little people.

Such a wonderful fun family day out. Crew were great informative (knew the area well and were able to answer any questions about area and marine life), yet relaxed and made it a great day.
You were given plenty of time for snorkelling and were not rushed. Boom netting amazing experience, our 11 and 13 year old daughters still talking about it.

Snorkelling was amazing and the staff were extremely helpful and talkative and didn't make us feel like a burden even though there were only 2 of us. They still cooked us lunch which was delicious!

Punctual, friendly and safe ferry transfer to the island!! Couldn’t really fault this service for a $50 rtn day trip. Thanks to the lady at the counter in the green office for the friendly service and the tip on prepaying for the lunch voucher.

Nice trip but could improve on couple of things like more signage to find their trailer and maybe offer some map or some instructions to newcomers and tourists. We prepared ourselves ahead so there was no dramas but we’ve seen many people stranded on the beach for good half hour before they realised they have 4 bars of 4g and found their way home.

Absolute joke! (Don't use Kepple Dive) (also got food here half a chicken burger they must've been running out! Pic below) Arrived on the island for our prepaid snorkeling tour and transfers to be told sorry we don't have any snorkeling gear left! We had two small kids in toe really excited for the day, when I asked the manager at the snorkeling shack if that was it as in do you have a solution? he just shrugged his shoulders and said its not his fault or problem ( he couldn't care less that two small kids were standing there disappointed by their poor management) We booked with get your guide ( don't do this there based on Germany and impossible to get a refund from) after losing my cool they sent me to reception at the hotel who told me she had a solution, the solution being that I could go to another provider pay for the snorkeling gear hie myself then try to get a refund from get your guide!!!! WOW and it was nobody's problem and nobody's fault!! Hey guys some simple business management count how many tickets you sell and count how many sets of snorkeling gear you have in stock! Your welcome!!! What a shower of useless companies!!!

Best value and excellent service. The crew is helpful and despite tourism still very friendly. The journey is smooth but it can be very hot inside (like any boat in summer). One thing to be aware is to try to board first in sunny day if you want to be inside and protected from the sun as sear are limited and outdoor seatibga are full sun without shade.

Our trip to Great Keppel Island on Keppel Konnections was fantastic!
We snorkeled and swam in magnificently clear, warm water seeing fish, coral and sea cucumbers. Lunch on the island was tasty and the staff helpful and friendly. The wind had changed direction on our trip back to Yeppoon, so the skipper did his best to make the boat ride as comfortable as possible. Would recommend!

Our Ferry home got chaged they didn't tell us until we got to the ferry. Was told by the lady it's because a staff got a 3rd warning and didn't show today. Then was told what did I want a call at 630 am (yes we might of had other things planned thats why we booked that ferry home). paid extra for the dogs and lunch. Got here, signs says no dogs in bistro area then was told don't worry about the sign. Does this apply if I bring my own beer because the sign also says no byo?
waited 50 mins for food and the only reason something was done is because I asked then was told they had run out of pizza.
Then was offered ice cream to fix it. Never again will I use these guys. there are more then enough ferry company please do yourself a favour and speak to the others first before you book from this place.

Exceptional! This is a spectacular day trip and exceptional value for money.
I was always under the impression that you needed to fly to Cairns and on to Port Douglas to experience the best of the Great Barrier Reef. Not so!! A mere 30 minute ferry from just outside Yeppoon and you can step directly onto the white sandy shore of Great Keppel Island.
And what better way to experience the best of GKI than with a KeppelKonnections package. Our day trip included return transfers, snorkel hire for the day and choice of lunch and beverage.
The quality of the meals was excellent- one of the better fish meals I have had in Queensland, for sure. The staff were all lovely.
The island itself was a delightful surprise. White sandy beaches - clear blue waters, with really great snorkeling. No stingers! The reef off Monkey Beach was, in my opinion, so much better than the big commercial pontoons offered further north.
The walking trails are not well marked, but the tracks are worth the effort to emerge from the bush onto a deserted beach.
We added kayak hire to our day. GKI is quite hilly, so after a big hike it was nice to paddle our way to Shelving and Monkey Beach rather than walk again. Did I mention the snorkeling was excellent?
Next time we will stay on the island for a couple of nights and really get amongst it.
Thanks Keppel Konnections for a wonderful day. 10/10 for value, experience and satisfaction

Went for day trip to great Keppel with snorkelling and lunch included skipper boat and staff where good although found booking process poor selecting times for departing to island and returning wasn't clear at all i can understand boats get full although you should be able to book a certain time and keep it was looking at a 2pm return and was allocated a 4:45 pm time slot only getting told that on the day should be able to book available time slot and keep it. lunch was good although ordering at 1pm was told it would take an hour there was no way of knowing when meal was ready was told to come back near window in a hour and they would call name out stood there for nearly fifteen minutes wondering if name had been called or how much more wait time there was so many easy improvements could be made
Make sure you do the short Nurim walk which is easy as it is mostly boardwalk or similar. It leads to a fantastic unobstructed view. This is important as where you first arrive on top of Mt Archer, the view is obstructed by trees.

Spent over 2 hours at Mt Archer, which allows you to take in the views of Rockhampton and the Fitzroy River. Fantastic views! Great Boardwalk! The road to the top is tarred. There are picnic tables and bbq’s. There are heaps of Grass Trees (black boys) Great place for a family day out! Staying around for a wonderful sunset is a must!

Excellent lookout; well worth the drive. But don't stop at the "main" area (where the Kiosk bldg is), check out the "Nurim Circuit Elevated Boardwalk" which is about 100m away. But (IMHO) do NOT do the walk to Sliepner Lookout!

Love Yeppoon, absolutely gorgeous place. My first visit, I spent an hour or so looking for Yeppoon Lagoon, thinking it was a natural lagoon! 😂😂 It’s actually a swimming pool right on the beach!! Really nice and a very beautiful pool. Perfect postcard, congrats to the council for this investment.
Kids seem to enjoy it. Must be a dream in the off-season. A bit too crowded in peak summer, but it is expected. Still very enjoyable.
The choice of food is classic and limited. The Rock Health bar has been moved to the Rock cafe, but all the menu disappeared in the process, so you are stuck with the classic nuggets, chips, and burgers. Kind of disappointing as they still use the health bar to promote their business but cut the cost there. What is frustrating is that the owner uses the original spot of the health bar for storage. That could be an opportunity for more food choices, but obviously, they own or rent the full building, so they can eliminate competition by doing this. Not the best for the public...

Excellent beach front, resort-style pool. It’s definitely chilly in winter but if you’re after the view, then the cold won’t stop you. A bit disappointing that you can’t go in for a sunrise swim because it’s unpatrolled, as that would be a spectacular view from the pool.
Amenities are great, kids would love it and it’s a great addition to the town of Yeppoon.

Sadly who ever designed this building need firing and reflect on their careers. The workmanship is well below any standard. The roof inside looks like a 2 year old crew did it. .far to open spaces for only 90 pieces with 3000 pieces on offer.
What a sad place. A few peices of art I would paint over as its not real art it's poor done. Doesn't show any thought or talent. 36.5 million dollars for. Pos

Such a beautiful gallery especially for Rocky. We visited while staying in Rockhampton for a couple of days and were pleasantly surprised at how well presented this gallery was.
A great selection of artworks were on display upstairs even though the ground floor was closed for the installation of the next exhibition, and there were even street artworks being painted out the back of the gallery while we were there.
Looks like there are some excellent workspace rooms too, will have to come back and do a workshop next time to try them out.

This is a nice little country museum. Although a little heave on racism for its main display at the moment, it was good, and second, on the suicidal side, there was a nice small room off to the side that was neutral. The staff were welcoming, and they did let us know it was a little on the triggering side of displays at this time, which it is. So currently, if you prefer to have neutral showings, don't go until they change their display.

The new building is well designed and thought out, very open roomy feel. The permanent collection is ok, I'm not arty so your experience may differ. I was in and out in a half hour. It is free so worth checking out, you have nothing to lose!

Spent some time at the Rockhampton Museum of art. Overall this museum had some lovely peices, although i did not agree with some of there are telling people who were born in a coutry to leave, but art is art. I would recommend, but not for everyone, kid sensative material, racial material and sexualised material could trigger the weak. There is some beautiful peices and should be worth a look.

Best part was the gift shop with local artist products! Incredible earrings and ceramics and pin badges. Friendly Swedish lady at the desk was lovely. Only few galleries as maintenance going on but would still recommend having a look

The recently opened Rockhampton Art Gallery was a pleasant surprise. The current exhibitions are free, diverse and high quality examples of a range of Australian local, indigenous and internationally reknown artists. The layout is spacious and colourful with informative labelling. They have educational spaces, the Hummingbird Cafe, a small retail shop with a good range of quality pieces and good disability access throughout. We spent two hours looking around the gallery and would highly recommend a visit.

Such an asset to our community.
The gallery has an amazing team who go above and beyond to bring exhibitions and other experiences to our local community.
My favourite experience is by far the artist in conversation sessions. I make a habit of reading little into the artist and their works and go along without a preconceived perception of their works and always leave enriched with a depth of understanding and appreciation for the artist and their works.
The passion and knowledge the staff bring, along with a strong acknowledgement of country and our first nations people ensuring that cultural sensitivity and appropriateness are awarded, is an absolute credit to the team.
With benefits for members, well priced tickets for paid experiences, and accommodating opening hours, what's not to love.
Enjoy every experience.

A seriously impressive gallery. The range of works on display is wonderful, the architecture of the building impressive and overall experience excellent. Loved the retail store, great collection of local artists creations to take home. The gallery cafe looked pretty good too.
Rockhampton Botanic Gardens is a verdant sanctuary located south of the town that showcases tropical and subtropical rainforest, landscaped gardens, lily-covered lagoons, a Japanese garden and a small zoo with various animal species. Visitors can enjoy a tranquil atmosphere in the Japanese garden and relish local delights at the cafe. The well-maintained zoo houses several animals including koalas, wombats, dingoes and monkeys along with an aviary.
Always amazed to visit here. Love that it's so well kept. Animals all so healthy looking and gardens so well kept. The shop offers great food, with lovely happy staff. Nice souvenirs.
Mandy Purdie — Google review
The day we visited was very hot, so most of the animals were deep in the shade. But fortunately for us they slowly came out when the carers came to give the food . The Merecats , Chimps and Cassowary were my favourites. The family of Chimps played and the baby was sticking straw into the fathers mouth then pulling it out, very playful.
The zoo is a great size.
We don't get up to Rockhampton often but this zoo is a must see. It's free and only asks for donations.
Jane Head — Google review
Please pay a visit you won't regret it. Zoo is free, it's in a lovely scenic setting. It isn't a full zoo but knowing this before we went did not build up our expectations. The chimps were funny to watch and it is worth sticking around for their feeding time and chimp talk at 2.45pm. There are other feeding times for the other animals too. Be sure to pick up a brochure at the entrance to see the feeding times.
Please support the zoo by making a donation to the donation boxes dotted around the zoo.

One of the most amazing gardens you'll see. Some parts of it feels like a rainforest. Some very large trees grow here. The playground is nestled under all these large trees creating natural shade for the all ages of children to play. The playground itself is also amazing!! Definitely worth a visit.

This place is definitely worth a visit by anyone looking for a cool spot. Free parking available and plenty of walks available. We went up one end which had the waterfall. This was amazing as there were plenty of turtles and fishes to be seen. There are also amenities and playgrounds at this place. Perfect for all ages and all needs!!!

Very odd bunch of trees. Still loved it. They have a tropical fruit section. Seems a bit unloved in places and has a strange layout. Trees from all over the place! Even arabica coffee is growing. Lots of birds. I even saw two chickens haha, assuming they escaped from close by housing. Not very busy even on a Sunday, most people hang around the playground or the lagoon.

Great botanic gardens to visit. A good variety of exhibits from Japanese gardens to Asian fruit trees, a cenotaph and a lagoon with all kinds of bird life. It’s right next to the Rockhampton Zoo so allow at least a couple of hours if you want to see both. Nice little cafe where you can get a coffee and cake or an ice cream and sit and watch the bird life all around. Lots of Rainbow Lorikeets will come over while you’re eating and probably try to scrounge some food, but feeding them is discouraged.

Loved the tropical fruit tree section. Japanese garden has no water due to maintenance. Lots of shade. Kiosk with plenty of shady seating.

The kids love to see the koalas, kangaroos, Emu, crocodiles and the apes. We didn't have enough time to walk through the garden and zoo but the little we saw are memorable. Hope to go there some other time.

A very beautiful place to visit with kids or without for FREE.
The Japanese theme section was pretty calm and relaxing .
All the grounds were maintained properly with lawn being mowed. They do had covered bbq areas and a big play area with lots of equipments for kids to enjoy.
The cafe serves easy quick meals and souvenirs too.
A must visit place while you visit Rockhampton.

Rockhampton Botanic Garden is undeniably beautiful, and I enjoyed strolling through its lush landscapes and diverse plant collections.
The garden's well-designed pathways took me on a delightful journey through a wide variety of plant species, each more stunning than the last. The colorful blooms, lush greenery, and well-tended landscapes made for a picturesque and relaxing experience.
One of my favorite spots was the peaceful lake, where I could sit and unwind while enjoying the natural surroundings. The garden offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Rockhampton Botanic Garden is not only a beautiful place to explore but also an educational one. The informative signs and exhibits provided valuable insights into the diverse plant life, making the visit both enjoyable and enlightening.
However, I must mention that the area housing the bats was a bit of a disappointment.
The overpowering stench from the bat enclosure was a significant drawback to an otherwise pleasant visit. Additionally, I noticed some cleanliness issues in that particular section of the garden.
While I understand that bats are an essential part of the ecosystem, it would be beneficial for the management to address the odor and cleanliness concerns to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Aside from the bats' area, the rest of the garden was well-maintained, and the variety of flora made it a lovely place to explore. The garden's peaceful ambiance and educational exhibits were definite highlights.
I hope the management takes note of the feedback and works towards improving the bat enclosure.

This is a nice museum with amazingly preserved pieces of history. Nearly in the heart of Rockhampton, inside the railway station you will discover how the trains of the area operated over the centuries and what it meant for the growth of the town.
Staff members looking after the place are always smiling and passionate about this important place. Enjoy taking a look at what the inside of the carriages used to be and get a fantastic photo of sitting in the train driver's seat! Lastly, have a ride on the tram cart that travels through the town, lots of fun for the family.

Absolutely lovely experience, so calming to walk along and take in the beautiful views. Walkways are extremely well kept, clear and easy to navigate. I wish those electric scooters didn't exist though, so annoying having people riding along the trails, forcing you to step aside for them to speed past, especially on the narrow parts.

Fantastic place to visit of you're in Rocky. The volunteer staff are very helpful and the $5- entry fee is awesome. There's a lot of past history and you can browse at your own leisure and time. I would highly recommend a visit for history buffs. Keep up the great work.

Had a really great experience at the Rockhampton Heritage Village today! Entry is only $5 and we started with a little tour in an old Jeep with one of the very kind volunteers. After dropping us of, we could make our way through some very well kept buildings and machinery. What a fantastic place that shows and preserves the way of life of bygone times. We got a ride in a lovely 1925 car and then walked around looking at the various buildings which include a hospital, a school, a church and residential buildings. Only slight negative was the piped music which was never ending and unnecessary.

Could take our time looking at and reading all the different stuff they have on display.
The Donkeys and Shetland ponies came over too see if we had any treats, they only got a scratch on their ears and head.
The magpies lined up for some treats as well at the Cafe, didnt get any, while we enjoyed a cuppa.

The historic houses feel very true to the era, and the vintage vehicles, clocks, hospital, school , church, firehouse are so fascinating to look at and learn about.
This is a great day out for the family, possibly older kids may enjoy it more as they may have greater appreciation for what they are looking at.
The staff are also super friendly and even dropped us off to the far end of the park so we would have time to look at everything before it closed.

Great collection, great history. Especially loved the hospital items and the old cars. We ran out of time. You def. need the whole day to explore. The tickets are very well priced, so if you love history, make this a MUST.
Very friendly staff at this tourist destination. This location includes ample parking, seating for either own or purchased food and drink, and relaxing after a hard day of thunder egg hunting. Would recommend getting in early to beat the line for cutting the eggs. Some of the gems in the shop are a bit over priced, but there is some nice pieces to choose from outside.

Had a lot of fun, could easily have spent the whole day here. The owner was really informative and showed us how to search for thunder eggs. I would recommend going on a dry day as it makes it a lot easier to find thunder eggs in the dirt, but we went on a really rainy day and still found some amazing gemstones with beautiful colours! The owners were really happy to help and cut open the eggs, well worth the experience.

We stayed over night in a powered caravan site $25 for 2 adults. Beautiful sunsets.

What a great place to dig in the dirt. Beautiful location with plenty of space. Basic amenities but who cares when it's do cheap to camp and you can look for pretty rocks anywhere you walk. At $30 the fossicking experience is definitely worth doing. I found some nice thunder eggs snd they cut about 6 for me. Very happy what I found.

Our family stayed here for one night and had a fantastic time. Site was powered, with a beautiful outlook and gorgeous sunset views and staying there meant we had time out of the heat of the day to go fossicking.
Don was extremely kind and patient with our son and took the time to explain what to look for and carefully go over what he'd found to see if there was anything worth keeping.
We went home with a few Thunder eggs to remember our time there and a beautiful piece of rainforest jasper to display in our home from the lovely shop. Next time we would stay a night or two longer to really soak up the atmosphere.

A really nice place to stay. The showers are are basic but Hot. Toilets are roomy and clean. Not a lot of available spaces so booking is a good idea. None of the above is why you stay here. You've come for the Thunder Eggs. Fossickin is very easy. They literally bring up the raw dirt for you to sift through. They provide all the tools and are more than willing to offer all the advice you need. You will get a few free cuts of your stones and will have to pay for any more you want cut. Capricorn Caves is a well-liked destination that features an intricate network of underground limestone caverns, including a natural cathedral. The site is located 24km north of Rockhampton near the town of Caves and offers visitors a unique auditory and visual experience. A popular one-hour tour involves listening to classical music while admiring cave coral, stalactites, fig-tree roots, and possibly spotting insectivorous bats.
Stayed overnight at the nice campground and did the Explorer Tour the next morning. Everyone had lots of fun, including the children and teenagers. The tour guide was knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic. We saw an owl and bats. The caves were interesting and the tour just difficult enough to really be exciting for the kids and teens. Winding through sometimes narrow and sometimes low passages, the Explorer Tour was tricky for the grown-ups but well worth it.

We had such an epic experience with Capricorn Caves. Our Adventure Tour Guide Hudson was so supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable about the caves. We were very nervous after looking at the first tunnel & Hudson explained to us exactly what to expect - we were still nervous but she made us believe we could do it. There was no fuss if a tunnel was too small, an alternative was offered. I'm so happy we got to experience the beauty & fun of the caves. Hudson is a legend & anyone on her tours is in for a great time!

I visited the caves, it was about 30 minutes and the guide was friendly and informative. I would recommend to come here if you have never been to a cave before. I would return with others if they had not been here. The cave walk was easy, a few stairs and the option to exit via the 'adventure' route. Its not hard but if you are on the bigger side or have a problem bending then it might be tricky. I barely squeezed through, the average healthy person would have no issues, unless you are claustrophobic.

The tour was great and some information was supplied in german for my parents. We were able to get a free entry ticket with a companion card which wasn’t accepted anywhere else on our trip yet. Nice little selection of local made gifts. Friendly staff and nice food in the cafe.
This was our second time visiting and it was still interesting. Bummer we didn’t hear the bats anymore from 3 years ago but a tourist took a picture with flash and the bats disappeared. If you visit, please try to think about the wildlife.

This was a lovely quiet place to stay. The cabin was very spacious & clean. A lovely deck with a bbq & a friendly bush turkey. There was also a short walk through the bush. We took the Cathedral Cave tour while there. The entrance to this cave was just like a movie set. Just stunning. Our guide Rory was very knowledgeable & enthusiastic. We saw some bats & their sound was just like running water in the back of the cave. Seated in the pews in the Cathedral Cave as the lights dimmed & the sound of “ Hallelujah “ played was just so beautiful. Thank you to everyone at the caves for their hospitality. Well worth a stopover.

My partner and I booked onto the adventure tour, we really did not know what to expect but were absolutely blown away by our experience. We had booked in for the 19th but unfortunately due to an accident on the Bruce highway, were unable to make it in time, but they were happy to give us a refund. We still wanted to do the tour so they booked us in for the next day! For the tour, there was 5 of us in total which was a perfect number of people to keep the tour moving and ensure health and safety. Our guide, Hudson, was absolutely fantastic. She was so engaging, knowledgeable about all aspects of the caves and clearly a skilled caver. We are both beginners but felt very safe in her hands. It certainly was a work out but we were rewarded by seeing interesting nature, historical facts and gorgeous views. It was also very good to know that the costs of the tour helps fund the important conservation work that is carried out on the property.

Our family (2 adults, 3 kids under 12yrs) visited in September 2023. We did the 2hr Family Adventure tour. The kids loved it! “Amazing!” “Adrenaline rush.” “A little bit scary, but fun.” Our guide Candice was great. There were some small holes we had to commando crawl through. I'd recommend wearing older clothes, perhaps something to cover your knees.

We did the 90-min Explorer Tour and that was just perfect (we were so glad we didn't settle on the 45-min Cathedral Tour). It was only slightly challenging, with a bit of ducking down and using hands to help get up and down certain places. Best to wear non slippery shoes as it can get slippery down there during the rainy season. Jackson was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. Looks like he's found his vocation in life as his passion for the caves and speleology definitely rubbed off. I highly recommend this tour (I'm also glad we didn't do the 2-hr Adventurer Tour as that would have involved crawling on all fours in tighter spaces).

What a fantastic experience, cannot recommend this enough. We signed up for the adventurer tour and it fully lived up to its name. We went with the expectation of just venturing deeply into the caves, but this offered so much more. Expect to crawl, climb and squeeze your way through passages you don’t think you’ll fit through (only if you want to)!
Our tour guide Beth was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and personable, and the perfect guide to this brilliant adventure tour. We learned about the bats and the rock formations as well as a bit of history of the discovery of the caves. This is all whilst pushing yourself through these caves into the different passages/rooms.
Don’t wear clothes you care about, including shoes. It had rained the day before our trip so there were lots of puddles and mud. Luckily we were prepared and felt like it added to the experience but just a bit of warning to people planning to do this!
I think this is such good value for money for the experience we had, and will definitely be recommending to people we know. Thanks again.

We didn’t stay but we did a guided tour of the caves. I have had two knee replacements and still healing but I had no trouble. Paths and steps very accessible. Our tour guide was very informative and helpful. We hope to visit again and stay at the cabins next time. I didn’t cat your tour guides name but it was Kieran.

Amazing tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and mindful of everyone’s level of experience. It was great learning about the geology and natural history of the area, and the caves are beautiful. The only thing I can think of to improve the experience is adding the significance of the caves to the traditional people of the land.

Such a fantastic experience! Kids loved the cave walk, & we spotted a few tiny bats. Guide was very informative, & the cathedral at the end was amazing! Definitely would love to come back & did the other tours.

Absolutely amazing.
We were lucky to have Sarah both of our tours the Cathedral and Explorer. She is very informative and our 2 girls had the best time up the front with her. So happy I pushed my self out of my comfort zone to experience the complete package, even though I was covered in mid by the end.
Well worth the visit.
We will be back when the girls are older to do the Adventurer tour.

What an experience! Once in a lifetime opportunity to see such an ancient and beautiful natural masterpiece. Hudson the tour guide was incredible and made the experience one to never forget.
Aboriginal national park with rainforest & limestone caves teeming with rare little bent-wing bats.
Such a cool thing to do ! Amber loves her job and she transmitted her passion all the way through the caves, we loved it !

Very good experience! I went on a scout camp for these caves and I had a very good time! Most of the caves are very open so people that get claustrophobic easily don’t have to worry. I went through 3 caves one cave we had to abseil into. There is a big walk involved but it’s worth it. Definitely would like to go there again.

The picnic spot was great, needed some shelters though as every table was in almost full sun on a very hot autumn day, but well maintained, quiet and pretty. The 600m self guided walk is awful, don't bother with it! Surrounded by weeds and fallen trees, just a mess and ugly, and the signs are so old most cant be read. That section needs a major overhaul.

The walking track is well marked, but I am not sure if the rangers have been clearing and burning, but it seems all of the "noted marks" on the path have died, or been killed off. Very strange. The markers describe a specific tree or plant, and that is dead. I hope it is not an act of vandalism.
The cave entrance is sealed and out of bounds.
I actually walked the rangers 4WD track, and was more impressed with the stands of trees and lush natural areas away from the self guided walk.
The facilities at the main start point are well kept and of a high standard.

Went with the Scout's and it was exhilarating. Some nice little challenges which kids fly through an 8yr old. A 9 yr old and a 13yr old alll managed with ease.
