Museum of Australian aviation with aircraft, artifacts & viewing platforms in a hangar-style space.
As a big naval aviation fan I was really looking forward to coming here and it did not disappoint! There was tons to see lots of memorabilia from ww1-now and everything in-between! Aswell as a plethora of aircraft especially helicopters, I really enjoyed seeing the sea fury and venom but unfortunately the main aircraft I came to see (A4 Skyhawk) is currently moved elsewhere. The reception staff are friendly and let you do your own thing and look around and the gift shop has plenty of awesome things! The simulator was also super fun, but the best part of all is that entry to see all this is completely free!! Definitely recommend to anyone interested traveling by the area!

Great activity for a rainy day. Free entry. A lot is on display here to see and learn about ranging from photographs and equipment through engines to trainer jets, fighter jets and helicopters from various times. Realistic helicopter flight simulator. Great gift shop. We had a great time here with family. Friendly staff was very helpful explaining how flying helicopters woks.
Petr Vavrinec — Google review
Really cool place with a bunch of aircraft placed in chronological order. It tells you facts about the aircraft as well as stories of people who've flown in them. Entry is free as well and it was not congested. Restrooms available and everything was clean.
Pranav Borse — Google review
A great place to visit to see historical Australian Navy aircraft of both fixed wing and rotary.
There are many boards with detailed information about the aircraft, their use and the shops they were carried on. There are cut aways of engines and weapons.
The Huey helicopter flight simulator is run and educational allowing one to experience flying that aircraft.
There is a gift shop also.
Soniqbuoy — Google review
A great place for history and military history enthusiasts! Especially kids! It is a place if you love to see real size war planes from World war to unmanned planes in display! The helicopter flying simulation was a real hands on experience of flying... My son loved it. It is free to all, accessible easily from princesss highway and some good collection of planes, scaled models of warships, gigantic parts of ships, old artifacts and videos of those times. If all this is of your interest, do definitely visit... Kids will love it...

I NEARLY DIED AT THE ENTRY COST . . . IT'S FREE 🤓😜😅👍
DON'T MISS A VISIT TO THIS IMPORTANT MUSEUM.
Cassandra on reception is fantastic very helpful and pleasant.
Displays were a bit dissapointing with a lot missing and others in the process of being moved,
I'm sure it will be great again when new displays are finished.
The facility really needs to have a cafe and refreshments DOWNSTAIRS AT (GROUND LEVEL).
During our many visits, I've never seen the cafe open and the steep stairs makes access impossible for many patrons.
Presentation of the displays is excellent and very professional, WELL DONE.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SMALL LOCAL BUSINESSES.

Very well presented with not a huge collection of aircraft but enough. Mainly post ww2 craft, helicopters and fixed wing. Nice models of battle ships and aircraft carriers. Souvenir shop sells quote a bit of navy apparel. Plenty of parking.

This is a fantastic museum. Entry via donation. Awesome models of ship planes from several wars. All well preserved. We’ll worth the visit

Great museum with various types of navy planes as well as a helicopter flight stimulator

One of the best air museums I have been. Excellent collection and presentation. Even better as it’s free. There’s parking at the site, don’t park 1st parking you see on left.

Had a blast today. Got treated with an “open day” for Navy and Army, so heaps more on offer. Even if the extra vehicles and gear wasn’t there it still would have been amazing.
Big shout out to the people hosting the stations and giving out free goodies to the kids. Such a great atmosphere and made the experience even better!

Was nice visit of RAN aircrafts from 30's to recent ones which RAN used in Gulf War.

Fun-filled experience, good knowledge for all ages, well maintained and free entry! One can easily spend an hour or more exploring all the displays. The simulator chopper is good one too!

Brilliant tribute. Spacious, well designed. An aviation/historic must-see. Now free of charge.

The museum has changed quite a lot since our last visit (back in the 1990s). Have always been impressed with aircraft and more so by naval aviators, so it is always good to read their stories and look at the aircraft that they flew.
Our visit was on a warm Saturday morning, earlier in February 2023. Entry is free, however you can make a donation on entry.
Easy to walk around on the ground level, although I didn't see a lift to the upper level for those who are less mobile... there may be one there, but I didn't notice it.
Recommended.
Big selection of fish and seafood. Highly recommend to stop in your way to Jervis Bay or going back to Sydney

Very Very fresh seafood at very cheap prices. I bought oysters, fish, shrimp, very delicious!

Well done Nowra Fresh!!!! Excellent service, smiles, prompt, well directed. Christmas Eve at 5am. I’m sure the staff are going to enjoy a well earned rest tomorrow.

I visit this shop weekly. The shop's name describes the best what the shop is. The delicatessen section staff is most helpful to cut and pack the way you need it to be done and the variety of product excels the variety of major chain stores. If you visit just once - you will visit again and again.
I was not impressed with the take-away fish and chips section that opened a year ago or so. Having the fresh produce fish is a bonus lost in the tasteless way it is prepared/cooked.
jansb — Google review
Top quality meats and seafood at a good price. Always a Fast and efficient service from the team. Kyla and Dave are always happy to go above and beyond (either treating the kids whilst in store or carrying our order to the car).
Alyssa Svoronos — Google review
Such a vast variety of fresh seafood and meats. I got a beautiful 750g deboned venison leg roast for a very reasonable price. I could've spent hundreds more but had to restrain myself!
Sam Hewitt — Google review
So last Sunday 9/7/23 I was in nowra fresh fish & meat market.
I brought nearly $200 worth of seafood and red meat.
I got 1kg of “apparently fresh Australian prawns” they weren’t fresh at all!!!!!
We have been in the meat industry for nearly 30yrs and when we got home, we peeled and tried your tasteless caulky prawns… they went straight into the bin.
How many times have they been frozen then thawed… I wonder!
They were disgusting and we’ll never be back
And we use to deliver lambs to you guys!
Lisa Gradon — Google review
We highly recommend their grilled barramundi, chips, salad, scalloped potatoes and seafood sticks. Great sized fish, tasty and fresh. Salad was very fresh too! We would buy here again when in Nowra. 10/10

Love this market store. Great range of vegetables and fruit and various consumables. Helpful and friendly staff. Great prices also.
Gaeline Newham — Google review
Went in to check it out. Looked like good meat. But premium price. I buy in bulk so no real drive . Will try something another time.
CamStans — Google review
I use both your stores because if the freshness and the variety I love good quality food the only disappointment is that there is no meat packs anymore. I understand the economy is bad but I personally would not mind an increase in the price to still have this pack available
Cathy Makdessi — Google review
4 stars to the meat market. Usually get all their fish and meat from there as it's always fresh. Unfortunately getting squid from there wasn't fresh. When I got home I seen the sticker label it said product of China. I thought this store was for local or at least Australian meat and seafood. We cooked it anyway and it was disgusting. We have caught our own before so we know what fresh and quality taste like. We spat it out. It was so mooshy. we even tried to over cook it a bit to he sure it was the quality. Very disappointed in not knowing it was from China as it didnt state behind the glass on display before i got it. For the squid options, definitely ask first where it's from first. Very upset the rest will be going to the dog Unfortunately :( but I do highly recommend this place for all other options. Especially the fresh fruit and veg market just below them.
Gracie Summerell — Google review
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Excellent portions and very well priced. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes but that came as no surprise as the queue was spilling out into the car park. We were warned of the wait time whilst ordering and i’m glad we did. Chuffed. Will definitely be back

Hidden adventure here for older kids!
Turned up after reading the reviews expecting a nice time but less excitement with teens.
However there are two "walks" that are much more adventurous than a paved path as you climb up through rock crevices, into caves, up and down ladders and it was great! Although not animal related it is a great extra to this entry. Definitely come wearing good shoes. Everyone loved it. Not suitable for small kids so perhaps why this hadn't been mentioned in other reviews.
The zookeeper chats were all fun and we all enjoyed getting to touch various animals.
Really worth a visit.

Picturesque, easy to navigate zoo with a fair variety of animals from around the world and domestically. Keepers were very passionate and were keen to share their knowledge and encourage guest participation during the regular shows. The zoo also has a modern Cafe and gift shop. There is a Treetops course in the zoo that looked fun as well as adventure trails that we did not have time to attempt. A great value family day out 🐒🐎🐖🐨

Came here with all my Niece's & nephew's during the school Holidays. Loved the Reptile show & Lion show they had. You can purchase animal feed to feed the animals they have here. Loved interacting with the animals & not bad pricing as well. I think I paid $30 something for entry & didn't regret it at all.

Amazing!! My son and I loved it. The instructors Ella and Joe were great and so friendly and helpful. They made my son, who was a bit wary of heights (9 years old) feel so at ease and completed stages of the course I don't think he would have if they weren't there. Check in was so easy as well as we had booked online. We will definitely be going again.

Lovely family zoo. Make the effort to attend one of the animal shows so you get an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the animals.....touch, hold and even have personal photos with the animals for $10 each animal or $30 for photos with 4 different animals. We had family photos with a baby alligator, koala, python snake and a small possum.

We were so lucky to find this place. No one around us knew this place and I wasn’t so sure about it. It was amazing!
Not too big and not too small for my kids, the age btw 5 and 10yo. The entry fee was reasonable plus we were able to use discovery vouchers. Some of parts were under construction but still a lot to see. It will be even more fun for tree top adventurers.
Glebe _Fever — Google review
I loved that unlike other zoos this one is not over crowded, a vast number of animals and a beautiful location next to the lake.
The place itself needs a bit of pampering, but the animals seem very happy and well looked after.
All the staff was friendly and the reptile show was educative and fun.

What a great Zoo. Such beautiful surroundings for the many animals. Wonderful koala, snake and lizard encounter. But make sure you take plenty of $1 coins to feed the tiny monkeys a nut. The zoo is situated in a very beautiful and natural setting. The adventure park next door looks fantastic. We had a great time here.
Linda Wilson — Google review
Great zoo with friendly and informative staff, easy to get around and lots of interesting animals. Particularly loved the lions, the monkeys (And the option to feed them a nut through the little dispenser) and watching them crack it open, as well as the petting zoo (baby bunnies) and the meerkats.
We were fortunate enough to see the keepers feeding, cleaning and interacting with the animals. All the animals appeared to be relaxed, clean and well cared for with big open spaces. The kids had an amazing time.

Hampden Bridge is a suspension bridge from the 19th century with a single lane for vehicles, made of wood and situated in Kangaroo Valley. Its construction resembles that of an English castle, complete with picturesque turrets and arches. The sandstone material adds to its beauty and has become a popular spot for photography. Additionally, there is a nearby small town where visitors can enjoy lunch. Overall, Hampden Bridge is worth the drive to see this stunning piece of architecture firsthand.
This picturesque bridge in Kangaroo Valley is straight out of ye olde England. Beautiful sandstone construction with turrets and arches you could be entering an English Castle. Worth the drive to see the bridge and you can get down to the river and get some really brilliant photographs.
Charles Cavalcante — Google review
One of the most beautiful sandstone bridges I’ve seen. It has a nice viewing area from which you can get a good look at the bridge and the lovely river below. Traffic isn’t too fast over the bridge so it’s somewhat pedestrian friendly too. A great piece of history

Lovely stop off point for us this afternoon. Broke up the long 3hr journey back to Sydney. Stretched our legs with a walk down under the bridge by the stream and had a paddle in the water. Next time perhaps if we have more time rent a kayak ($60) and spend a couple of hours exploring down stream. Great location just outside Kangaroo Valley.

What an amazing bridge. We took the time to drive across, stroll the beautiful walking paths beneath and of course gain a picture or two.
Carolyn Clairvoyant — Google review
I was really surprised how nice the town is and the bridge is a lovely piece of local history to see. The river below it is very pretty with sand banks and high sand stone cliffs. The pioneer village is just the other side if it too and worth a look

Magnificent bridge, over 100 yrsold in Kangaroo Valley NSW. There is a walkwY underneath where you can enjoy the river on a small beach. Car park and toilets avail.
Across the road is the Pioneer Village, excellent history of our pioneers with old buildings and a nature walk. Entry is $5 seniors.
moni lee — Google review
You can swim in the river, but the water is cold and there is a current. The bridge is suspended with a wooden deck, cars pass through it one at a time, and there is a lane for pedestrians.
Anastasiia Galiulina — Google review
One way, so thank goodness the traffic is light. Beautiful historic bridge and sweet at dusk.
Liam Payne — Google review
The only surviving wooden 19th-century suspension bridge in Australia, and it's completely original. What a great piece of history!
Traffic across this bridge is one-lane, and there's a small pedestrian path (not a lot of room). It's easy to walk to from the town of Kangaroo Valley (footpaths along the way)
❗ I've included pictures of the signage, great history!
🚻 Public toilets nearby on the Kangaroo Valley side
Stacey Trock — Google review
Beautiful old stone bridge a short walk or drive from Kangaroo Valley town centre. You can walk across the bridge just be careful to walk to the side and watch for traffic. Incredible the bridge still stands today, Go around to the side on the village side and down underneath to see the steel that has been added to strengthen it.

That the same bridge is standing all these years later is amazing. Pretty to look at and pretty amazing to marvel at it's early construction.
We stopped for an overnight stay in Moss Vale and saw a road sign to Fitzroy Falls, a top natural lookout site we visited many years ago. It was about 17 km away, so we decided it was time for another visit.
Despite being vaguely familiar with the place, it was a pleasure to explore the short trails and lookouts again. The views are terrific and the falls impressive given recent rain.
A chat with the duty ranger indicated quiet times give Covid impact, perhaps not a surprise, but also the park can get quite busy during popular periods.
Greg Tolcher — Google review
So very special and felt 100% safe on the strong & solid mesh viewing platform.
Interesting dioramas in the visitor centre: worth a look through.
An adjacent open space with gazebo and picnic tables were handy and was where a parrot visited with us for our snack stop.
With all the recent rains, the Falls were cascading beautifully.
Michelle Hulton — Google review
Beautiful falls. Doable with a 2 yr old toddler. There's an easy lookout above the falls just 200m from visitor centre and they recommended we walk to Jersey Lookout just an extra ten minutes which gives you the full view of Fitzroy Falls, it was an easy trek with kids and that was enough for us!
Nina Wei — Google review
We knew that after the heavy rain that the waterfalls would be flowing. And we weren't wrong. It was just stunning. Still ground water in some places, limiting access to all trails but it was easy access to view Fitzroy Falls. The sound was surprisingly loud, really showing the power of water.
The scenery is breathtaking and a reminder how beautiful natural Australia is. I would highly recommend a visit.

Pretty cool place, the walks through the national park are easy and refreshing. The driving tracks are one to be put on the bucket list.
Make sure to head to the bottom of the falls , oasis awaits

A very nice waterfall to stop at while heading south. There are plenty of parking spots which cost around four dollars at the time of the review.
There are toilets which are clean and available to the public that close at 4pm every day.
The walking trails are clear and marked with a lookout, which slightly overhangs the valley, providing a great view of the falls.
We were lucky at the time, because there was lots of rain going on, and the waterfall was very impressive.
I recommend taking the trails and having a good look around as the Bushland is spectacular providing a view back to the falls.
Souvenirs can be purchased at the gift shop, which is run by the National parks and wildlife Service.
There are also some relics to look at and some interesting information about the area.
Overall recommended to stop in and have a look if you’re headed down south.
Nigel Price — Google review
$3 for parking. Information kiosk closed when we were there on a weekday. The falls itself is a quick easy walk for a pretty sight to see. It had rained in the areas a few days ago so that definitely helped! Most people stop at the main lookout where the view is slightly at an angle and covered by bushes which makes it difficult to take selfie/good pictures of the waterfall. If you take another 5 min walk however, further inwards to Jersey Lookout, you'll find that the views there are much better!
Clare Yeh — Google review
Luckily there was heavy rainfall before arriving at the Fitzroy Falls so the water fall was in top form. Very nice indeed.

Beautiful trail, a bit wet, mossy and muddy in some sections. I would recommend walking poles.
I didn’t see anyone else on the track. I allowed 2.5 hours and stopped along the way to just watch.
I saw a peacock which was stunning. I wish I took my bathers for an ice plunge in the pool at the falls.

The hill is really bonny but some areas are steep. Easy to do in a half an hour one way.

Amazing but for parents! Don't go with a baby unless you have a carrier or ready to get very exhausted. The whole thing is one hour. You get to see the middle of the water fall and it looks nice . The steps at the end get very steep.

Beautiful location, located in the Southern Highlands.
I would highly recommend visiting on a day when the winds are not so bad,as parts were closed which was totally understandable due to safety.
We will go back as we never got down to the falls, however the trails we walked were great.
• Plenty of parking
• I would suggest visiting the Fitzroy Falls visitor centre in the National Park for advice regardless of your fitness level and check the National Parks website for all alerts and relevant information.
• And obviously pack the appropriate gear before heading off and wear the appropriate footwear !

Fairy Bower falls is a short, easy walk not far from the township of Bundanoon. The walk is mostly flat with a decline on the way there and some stairs throughout. The falls themselves are very close by the trail, making this a trail that should only be done in dry weather.
We were lucky enough to see a Lyrebird on our trek as one of the photos I have attached shows.
All in all its a wonderful, easy walk that you shouldn't miss!

Stunning place to visit! We had booked for lunch and had the most exquisite experience there. Loads of charm sitting amongst the books, near a stunning stone fireplace. This newly purpose built barn venue is packed with attention to detail that instantly immerses you into a great relaxing mood. Great wines and food to simply die for. We had the blue swimmer crab linguini with chilli and garlic and it has become one of the most memorable dishes I've ever had. I cannot recommend this venue enough! It's a must visit!

Unfortunately we didn't get to eat or have coffee here, as it was fully booked. There were no Reserved notices on the tables though which caused a moment of confusion for all.
The range of books is similar to the Oxford St location, I was actually expecting a fair bit more of the book barn. Overall though it's a very lovely location, and I always enjoy browsing at a Berkelouw.

Absolutely breathtaking. The atmosphere at this venue is like something out of a movie. The staff were so helpful in assisting me to find a book I'd been after for a while. The hospitality staff were super accommodating even though they had a wedding on at 3 and we arrived at around quarter past two, they found us a table and whipped up a delicious lunch. I can't recommend this place high enough. Well worth a visit!

Beautiful interiors where you can select a book to read while eating or drinking. We tried their desserts and all were interesting, albeit a bit expensive. There’s also an actual book shop you can purchase from which has a good selection of fiction and non-fiction books. Best to have a reservation as they really get packed on weekends.

I want more place like this! Beautiful country setting, a barn full of books and great food.
Initially I thought there’s a café there, not aware it’s a full fledged restaurant. We were told the dinning space is more like a cafe setting in the morning.
I wish there are more casual sitting space through the day just for coffee/snacks and book browsing.

Beautiful new and used book shop with attached restaurant on a lovely winery estate. Coffee was takeaway only when I visited which may be because they were prepping for lunch service and are usually fully booked.

Absolutely beautiful building and a wide range of 2nd hand books.
Food is very average but it has a lovely atmosphere. Wine was average too unfortunately.

The fries we ordered were worse than MacDonalds. The pork bao buns were awesome. The pav looked stunning but extremely subtle in flavors.
Staff not very friendly
The place looked great plenty of books.
Not somewhere I would return too.

Cutest little cafe. Perfect for a quick break for some delicious scones or cakes.

Wonderful store. We came for coffee and cake, but also got some wonderful jam. And saw lots of nice Japanese inspired household items. Super friendly owners, lovely atmosphere. Absolutely worth a visit if you are in Berrima.

Recently visited this establishment on my wife’s insistence when we were visiting Bowral for a holiday. It is an old house converted into a shop selling jams, multiple varieties of local honey and other food items such as pasta. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a little cafe on one side of the shop open for mostly breakfast and lunch. The variety of jams and chutney’s were very impressive. The food we sampled which included the ploughman’s lunch and a cheese souffle, was very palatable. If you are ever in the area I thoroughly advise you to drop in. You won’t be disappointed.

Gem of Berrima! Must visit for everyone. They opened the cafe portion just 6 months ago, but food was absolutely delicious! Scones, cakes are warm and tasty, the pesto spaghetti with smoked trout a treat and the goats cheese tart very well balanced. And then there were jams and honeys in the store. Wow just wow. Service is friendly and helpful, and we will definitely come back. Only seats 25 at most so come early and not in a big group.

The toasties were not bad. The staff.......
The shop was empty when my partner and I visited except for three staff members. I smiled and called out good morning to them but were ignored. They saw us but they didn't smile or greet us. We walked closer to the counter as we were not sure how to order our food, one of the staff said we need to sign in with the QR code and order at the counter.
There seems to be a lot of jam, honey and condiments in the store but we didn't want to browse as we felt unwelcomed.
We were there at 10am on a Saturday morning. Maybe they haven't had their morning coffee. Maybe we will be back but probably not.

We keep coming back here just for the atmosphere even if it's a detour. Love their jams and sitting in and having scones.

A very cute cottage filled with jam, honey, chutney and all sorts of condiments. Was meaning to go for scone and arvo tea. However at 3.30pm was told the scones have sold out! Best to get early to avoid disappointment. Purchased a few items from the shop, including a few jars of honey and Jam and flavoured salts, but when opening the salts the tin rusted inside them, which was disappointing but happy to support local.

My heart skips a beat when I find places like this that specialise in something so scrumptious! Especially while on a roadtrip. The store has alot of charm. Lovely & kind service, the most delicious scones I have ever had and jam was out of this world. Thank you! ❤️

We just finished a 500g jar of Fuzzy Box Honey which we had purchased on our last trip to the Southern Highlands. Delicious and highly recommended.
Visited again just this 15th January so we could buy their delicious honeys. Trying our a new one too - Citrus Blossom Honey, also trying the caramelised cherry balsamic vinegar.
What an amazing tourist spot! It offers an enlightening journey to the 1830s, guided by highly knowledgeable volunteers who shared the fascinating history of the Courthouse. The courtroom's electronic presentation was impressive. Set aside a few hours to visit before lunch, and afterward, explore the village where you'll discover various cafes and pubs catering to your dining needs. It's truly a fantastic trip from Sydney.
Sarath Muralidharan — Google review
Guide was friendly. They're clearly making their best effort with the history they have and putting their best presentation out there.
There's second-hand books here. So that's a very good reason to go as well.

A great visit to the courthouse in Berrima to see the mock trial and to see the artifacts on display. If you’re visiting the town of Berrima, it might be worth a visit to the courthouse.
Nerine Cummins — Google review
A man conflicted by nationality may approach you at the door to the ticket room/gift shop. “Where is your passport?” (I was born in Kogarah, my partner in Laguna province, my family migrated here rnd. 1870), which is mildly funny, however about 6 references to nationality later you wonder what the man’s point is — he decided I was English (?) finding information on the website is recommendable if your accent is broad and you marked “Australian” or “Anglo-Celtic” under ancestry in the census you’ll slip right through. Barriers for others.
Surely he’s going for charm. Perhaps, he’s well educated on this small part of whole that is the local history, which is important.

What a wonderful tourist attraction. An educated walk back to the 1830's.
Very knowledgeable volunteer staff presented a great history of the Courthouse.
The courtroom electronic presentation was very good.
More than happy to pay the entry fee. It's put to a good cause.
Put a few hours aside, visit before lunch and then wander through the village. You'll find a range of cafes and pubs that should meet your dining requirements.
A great day out from Sydney.

For a $10 entry fee you get to learn about the history of Berrima, the courthouse and its significance in NSW history. The tour was self-guided and pretty straightforward. The mock trial was a bit weird and tacky because of the old school technology but it was still quite entertaining.
Pipiena Hehea — Google review
Enjoyed a trip down Australian history lane. Was fascinated to learn about the importance of the Berrima court house and the part it played in NSW history. The gift shop is full of great books and souvenirs. Went for the tour which included a visual and sound display of a court case which was eventful. I recommend including this on your intinery when visiting Berrima. Takes around 30 minutes to complete and you will have a greater understanding of Australian history.

A gorgeous spot for an afternoon wine tasting with the sun streaming into the cosy room, and the most delicious cheese board. Highly recommend!

The staff there were super friendly and generous, wine tasting experience was excellent, less commercial touch like those bigger wineries, high-quality wines and well priced.
Jenny Yang — Google review
A wonderful boutique winery set in rolling hills. They do a delightful cheese and condiments platter to have with your wine tasting, all very reasonably priced. Their white wines are superb, very clean and crisp with lovely fruit overtones. The Chardonnay and fume blanc are subtly oaked, just how I like them. Didn't try the reds but if the whites are anything to go by they should also be great. Looking forward to next meeting.

Beautiful place with a calm atmosphere. I tasted both their sparkling chardonnay and Pinot noir. And they were amazing. The staff was friendly too.
But, I feel they can improve on some stuff, especially the food. When I have a glass of wine in a winery, I personally don't expect it to be accompanied by Vietnamese street food. Even though the food was tasty and good value for money, it's just not an great overall experience. I know they serve pizzas on long weekend Sunday's, but I'm sure lot of customers would love to have a slice of pizza with a glass of wine, on any fine day.
The furniture can def undergo an upgrade. Especially when you have three plates of food and glasses of wine, it gets really wobbly. We were afraid we might break the glasses.
I would love to visit the place again, cause the wine is amazing. But few things need a rethink.

A boutique family run winery. Great wine (particularly the reds and fortified wines) and better service for wine tasting than the larger wineries. If you're going to one winery in the region for tasting, suggest it's this one.

Constructed to honor the fighting men of WWI, this monument also houses a museum of the military.
Great views over the wetlands and Goulburn. The new museum is situated in a small garden of rosemary and native plants - very nicely laid out.
Interesting to see some of the explanations on the training facilities that were in Goulburn before the young guys got sent off to meet their fate in First World War. This senseless loss partly explains why the town has a memorial and museum on such an excellent piece of real estate rather than a hotel or church.

Only got to go up the tower, as the kids fell asleep in the car (Partner waited with them as I went up)
We didn't think the tower or museum would be open, as Google said they weren't, so we were pleasantly surprised when they were!

Museum and tower were all closed up at 11am today, during school holidays, which was rather disappointing. We found out when we arrived and a printed notice was up, after we'd looked on Google maps and found it should be open.
Good views from the base of the tower but we would have liked to see inside.
There are a couple of information signs outside to look at. One talks about Aboriginal history but seemed like more of a political statement.
A few walking tracks seem to exist around the hills coming off the road.
Accessible parking.
Edit: we returned and got a view from the top. The guy had just locked the door at 3:55 but opened it up again for us for 5 minutes which was great.

Did not go into the museum for time reasons, but enjoyed the memorial a lot. Thoroughly windy and cold the day we were there, so be warned. The views were spectacular. The stairs up the memorial strong and reliable but quite a few but worth it to look at the photos. An excellent experience and great activity.

The Goulburn Visitor Information Centre is highly praised for its helpful staff who take the time to assist visitors. They even allow unhitching of vans behind the center, making it convenient for travelers to explore the town and its attractions. The big Merino is in the corner of Hume and, Sowerby St, Goulburn NSW. Nicknamed "Rambo" by locals, the Big Merino contains a gift shop on the ground floor and a wool display on the second floor which it was closed at the time I visited the Rambo, not sure about the reason. The Big Merino, built in 1985. Standing 15.2 meters high, 18 meters long and weighing 97 tones at the time of construction. The complex was opened on September 20 1985. Normally it is not busy but the date I visited it was long weekend and school holidays which made it extremely busy.
Lots of restaurants and cafe nearby to dine in.
I loved the gift shop in the ground floor. The gift shop was full of good quality made in Australia specifically made in Goulburn items. I liked the wild Australian animals made with wool section.

Man, this is one big concrete sheep. I think it's concrete; I confess I didn't go up and eyeball it or touch it. If it is concrete, it is actually a pretty darn impressive sculpture, not merely for it's size but also it's visage. It's... a merino. The gift shop underneath it's behind is stocked with woollen items galore. I am a hankie guy and needed hankies and they had none (I know, I know, you don't get woollen hankies, Paul, and I know this, I was just... hoping because they do sell cloth items). Friendly lady serving me while another shopper admired handbags.

This is an amazing estate with excellent food. Having dined around midday on a Saturday, the staff were kind, the service fast, and the food had generous portions with great quality.

I've driven passed this place a million times and never gone in, what a hidden gem this place is.
It's just off the highway but feels like you're up at the Hunter or Mudgee with the vineyard vista with Lake George in the background.
The food is well prepared and delicious, attentive staff and some great wine.
We will definitely be stopping over again!

Booked in a lunch for our 10 year anniversary of dating to propose, and the day couldn't have been more perfect. The view, the food, the wine and the weather all lined up just for our special day. The staff went out of their way to make it even more memorable for the both of us and we're extremely grateful. We are already planning a return to this fantastic spot.

A really pleasant winery to visit for a long lunch or lazy afternoon away from Canberra. Not too far to drive. Wonderful and friendly staff. Food is absolutely fantastic. Whilst I don’t drink, the reports from my friends about the wine was that it is amazing. Highly recommended this place.

Great little spot for a quick wine as you’re passing through the area. It’s a low key winery, nothing fancy or pretentious. It’s family friendly, with lots of kids around.
The outdoor area could do with a revamp.

Dropped in on our way home to Sydney from Thredbo, we thought we’d just have a look but ended up doing a lovely tasting of all the wines on offer. Our host was Theo who was very friendly, helpful and had some great information and thoughts on the wines on tasting as well as their other reserve wines. The location and tasting room is lovely and the restaurant looks great. There’s a charge per person for tastings but it’s fully refundable on any wine purchases. They really do have some lovely and interesting wines especially the estate Chardonnay, Shiraz and a particularly good Syrah. We were there late on a non school holiday Monday and it was nice an quiet for us but it can get quite busy on weekends.

Stylish cottage in a vineyard for refined bistro dining on select days, plus a cellar door.
Had an amazing experience at Lake George Winery yesterday. We are lunch at the beautiful restaurant called the Westering. The view is absolutely gorgeous overlooking the vineyard and the restaurant space is very open and welcoming. The service from all staff was immaculate, particularly Suzie who we would like to thank. We decided to go for the the 3 course menu matched with the wine. All items were delicious, and the wine seriously impressed us! The serving sizes of each meal were very generous and we were seriously filled up with happy tummies. Can recommend the riesling wine and also the arancini for entree. We then went down to the cellar to buy some bottles of wine and little souvenirs. We had a very pleasant time and would return in a heartbeat!!! Thank you!

Booked and confirmed for lunch for 2, arrived and the lovely lady had no knowledge of our booking, she was very apologetic and seated us at the bar. Food and wine were lovely but the unexpected entertainment was both amusing and frustrating. Robyn was the only person servicing the cellar door area, she had 2 big parties of 20 plus people. Did an amazing job with no real assistance from either the very young lad or the gentleman who flited in and out, Simon?
If not for Robyn we would have walked out. She is a star.

The homestead stay is fantastic. Our extended family holiday was divine and we were all able to stretch out and enjoy the hot tub and stunning views. Waking up to the sunrise on Lake George was an amazing experience.
We enjoyed lunch and the wine tasting and were thoroughly looked after by all the staff. Thanks for making our family feel looked after.

This winery is amazing. I visit often which has included wine tastings, lunch, events and to stay in the tiny homes.
Sarah and the team are great. Attentive, food is delicious, and they explain the wine making process along with the tasting notes.

What an experience! I came here on Easter Day all the way from Sydney for a good lunch and just like their reputation, Lake George Winery have delivered once again! The pizza was delicious and the wings were exquisite. The eggplant was a standout and the lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection. The best of all, the customer service. The staff was extremely kind and caring and were trained to kindly communicate with a variety of consumers. I heavily recommend this place for anyone who is looking to have a scrumptious meal next to the beautiful scenery of Lake George!

We visited Lake George Winery and stayed in one of the amazing tiny homes on the property. This meant we could bring our dogs and they had room to run on a long lead! We woke up to the beautiful vineyard and walked down to the winery for a tasting. We were served by Matt and Suzy, both of whom were knowledgeable, personable, and lovely! We left with two bottles of wine and would recommend Lake George Winery to any wine lovers! We will be back.

An absolute gem !!
Absolutely mouth watering menu, French toast...Bircher museli...We had breakfast and lunch there. It was amazing. We stayed there overnight in Homestead accommodation. It is a massive house with beautiful views of the mountains and the lake. Kids loved the Jacuzzi. Nice accomodation with clean utilities and breath taking views of Lake George and the mountains. Must visit. 💕
My son & myself love this place so much. The cottage is nice and clean. It has everything you need during the stay. The activities we joined were great too, especially the horse riding. I never like to ride on a horse last time but now my view totally changed, instruction told was clear & the host will make sure everything is fine & safe before we set off. I feel good & really enjoy it this time. The farm is well maintenance and the farm pets are all loveable. And of course, the host - Pauline. She is friendly & responsive. She never failed to reply my queries every time👍🏻👍🏻. The only downside was we are unable to stay longer ☹️
Thanks, Pauline for making our short stay so memorable 😘

Very happy to meet owner Pauline and had her taking us to horse riding and farm tour. She is very kind that she rescued different animals and help them grow in the farm. Highly recommend. It is not only for kids, we and my parents also enjoyed it a lot. (Fireplace at night and gorgeous star night is a plus :D )

We stayed two nights over the long weekend in the two bedroom cabin. It was a beautiful experience for our family of five. The cabin was comfortable and simple. We even got to see goats, cows, alpacas, chickens, horses, camels, Pepper the Pig, Bear the Dog, and even an emu! Highly recommend visiting, now I know they do farm stays, we hope to visiting again using their accommodation and take their interactive safari tour...

An absolutely amazing place to visit. My family and I had visited Mayfield Garden during their autumn festival and the place is spectacular. Little one loved it as there's so much to see, and so did we. It's vast and as their recommendation, atleast 4 hours is needed to explore the entire garden. It was very busy today being Easter Sunday, so buying tickets online was ideal to skip the ticket queue. Although it was busy, because the garden covers 65 hectares, it was still very spacious despite the number of attendances. The garden is well maintained, clean and beautiful. All the staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The maze cafe and staff service was great, food and coffee was lovely. Our experience was amazing here and we're already planning to come back again this month.
Update: Came back a second time within the month for the Autumn festival. Despite the weather being a little gloomy and light showers, our visit was still enjoyable. There's so much more to see that we didn't get a chance on our last visit. Enjoyed a picnic lunch just sitting on the lawn with beautiful scenery. Had a great time. Thank you for staff and the owners.

Having seen Mayfield Gardens on social media platforms we decided to go for a day trip to visit.
From driving in the leaving the whole day was just breath taking. Such relaxing and beautiful grounds just makes you really appreciate the natural beauty and quietness that Mother Nature has to offer. The gardens are well kept and very easy walking tracks. The cafe food was delicious fresh and very tasty. I would just recommend to book a table ahead of your visit to ensure you are able to get seated.

Just happened on this place by sheer luck and what a absolutely great find.
One of the best gardens I've walked through, very well maintained and very scenic.
Walked around here for about 2 hours but I could have spent longer if I had more time but will come again as I had to skip the maze.
Highly recommend taking a day trip up to here if in Sydney or surrounding areas.

What a spectacular and magical place. Thanks to the summer festival, we had the chance to enjoy two gardens (Mayfield Garden & Hawkin’s Family Garden) in one visit. Such an amazing garden with amazing variety of plants. The maze is interesting and enjoyable. We spent nearly 4 hours in the Garden but still felt a little bit rush. Tips before you visit - have plenty of water with you, wear comfortable shoes and carefully protect yourself from the sun. We’ll definitely come back in different seasons.

It's a spectacular place to visit during autumn. Amazing fall colours tree and lush green garden looks like a portrait picture. so many beautiful picture-perfect spots for taking photos. It's a huge garden with many different themes, and the maze is one of the best attractions. A nice cafe is there at the entrance of the garden. We visited during the autumn festival and was awesome. Takes the whole day to see everything, and it's a lot of walking but worth it

Mayfield Garden was absolutely beautiful. We were in awe of the architecture and fine details put into the different areas of the garden. Even the pathway looked as though it was put together stone by stone, by hand. We will definitely be visiting again during Spring season when all the flowers and plants are in bloom. The experience we had was definitely worth every moment and every memory. I recommend to anyone who loves nature, water and serenity.

Mayfield garden is a beautiful and large garden with a variety of flowers, plants and lakes. The garden has multiple trails to follow for the different exhibits. On one of the lakes it is possible to take a rowboat out for 20 minutes. The garden also has a chapel and bird sanctuary. Around the entrance area there is a restaurant and some snack shops.

Three hours drive from Sydney. If you would like to hang with your family and friends, then I would suggest you to visit the garden specially during Autumn festival which is in April. I would suggest you to bring your own food as there are plenty of open spaces where you can arrange your own picnic. The garden is huge so defiantly suggest you to arrive as early as possible. Would love to visit again during Winter festival. Can't wait for it!

A fantastic garden with strong autumn colours coming through, an abundance of maple trees of different varieties, beautifully landscaped gardens for a reasonable entry fee. An absolute stunner and worth the drive in peak Autumn season. They are in the middle of Nowhere (Oberon) which means you shouldn't rely on mobile phone reception, yet somehow they keep busy with a fairly full car park. At absolute peak you might have to book your tickets beforehand, so pay attention. Looking forward to coming back in spring, and autumn again, then spring...

The best kept tourist secret in NSW. We went to the gardens after being recommended it by the Oberon Antique Shop owner. The gardens were a spectacular surprise with a WOW factor around every corner. Congratulations to the Hawkins family who created, own and manage this fabulous garden. It compares favourable with any European garden that I have visited. I loved the thousands and thousands of flowering bulbs Mayfield Garden was a delight and I will be back to see this wonderful garden in other seasons. Opened every day of the year with a delightful cafe, it was the highlight of our week in the Blue Mountains and the surrounding towns.

Museum displaying cars, motorcycles & other memorabilia related to Australia's racing history.
I loved our visit to the museum! While I've been a few times over the years, it had been a while and it was the first time taking my family. I always get a kick out of seeing Australian racing history on display and being able to view up close the race cars (and bikes!) I've grown up with was very cool. The quality of the displays and background information is fantastic and a big thanks to the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Without this museum, some of the greatest race cars in Australia wouldn't be seen by the public. Whether you're a die hard race fan or someone who watches once a year when the Bathurst 1000 is on, the museum is a must do if you get the chance!

A lot of fun to see the cars up close. Aptly priced and great location, if you’re driving up Mt you should definitely consider stopping in here. The location is nice and clean, friendly staff and good memorabilia. I would recommend having the collection coin machine checked however. When I was there it took my money and didn’t slot the coin. Highly recommend.

For those who are into muscle cars, this is a wonderful place to visit, you can buy beautiful souvenirs from there, it's not so expensive. Unisex toilets are available there. There's a dark room where they play videos on 3 walls of the past races, the sound wasn't great, it was fun for kids and for adults as well.

The NMRM is located at the entrance to the great Mt Panorama race track. It looks like a small building from the front, but has a treasure trove or racing memories and history inside.
Whether it's motorbikes (racing since 1938!) or cars (since 1963), there's something here for you.
As someone who has watched the Bathurst 1000 since the early 70s, this was a real trip down memory lane. It also provided a few surprises looking at the winners of the first seven or eight years of car racing.
All the major winning vehicles are on display (either replicas or restorations) and it's amazing to think about some of the early winners and they cars they drove.
There are also some cars that have participated in the 12hr and 6hr events, as well as many of the major motorcycle races over the years. If you're a speedway fan, there are even some of those on display!
Even if you're not a motor racing fan, this will still be of interest just from a local history aspect.

Very over rated, very much out dated. I mean the bike board ain't been updated since 1982. Non interactive especially the children's ay ground. They expect people to have a bbq in the picnic ground. The play ground is no good for children, no shade and quite frankly they could have at least made the ay ground an interesting, interactive kids area. One day they may get the idea of what a museum should be. There is much better out there but it depends on where or what you actually want to travel to.

Great place if you enjoy V8 Supercars. Although there are a few GT cars and open wheel cars. One thing to note is that the model cars for sale in the gift shop are pricey.

It's just like you were told as a kid ..you get to see dinosaurs and ancient animals . It's the last few days you can use your discover NSW vouchers and see something really marvelous. It's not a huge building so you will definitely have time to go through and read and really get to know about the artefacts. You enter through the gift shop into a sea of sparkling crystals..amethyst amber's and others crystals.. so many you could spend the day admiring nature's jewellery.. you walk through into the other room to be greeted by two huge dinosaur cast from original bone casts and recreated for display. Walking along the room you could experience walking through the meta million years of evolution from early signs of organisms to herds of hearing like unknown species to creatures and insects crystallized into tree wax to form into amber's .. you can see actual dinosaur bones and eggs too and find out types of fishes whose species are yet in named.. don't forget the mystery drawers of fossils. Once you have taken in all that you get to walk out of through the gift shop where if you want you can actually carry a fossilised history dating back to millions of years back home with you. .. it's really an experience.

The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum - Home of the Somerville Collection is located in the city of Bathurst in regional New South Wales Australia and was opened in July 2004. The collection is housed in a group of heritage buildings, the old 1874 public school buildings, in the centre of the city. Nearly 2000 specimens are on display from the internationally renowned Somerville Collection. There is an entry fee of $15 per adult. The main attraction for tourists and enthusiasts is the 10 ½ metre long and 4-metre high Tyrannosaurus rex (T.Rex) skeleton.

Small enough to see it all without getting bored, but big enough to see many different things. The exhibits were interesting, and thoughtfully composed.

A wide collection of gems and informative in regards to fossil and dinosaurs.
Home of the Bathurst 1000 event, this road-race circuit has uphill stretches with panoramic views.
Beautiful venue. The misty mornings add to the adventure and challenges for the endurance races. Worth having a weekend camping trip with friends and families. Plenty of spots to watch cars roar.

Best place in the world to watch touring car/GT3 racing. Great facilities and passionate crowd.
Adequate camping facilities located all round the circuit. Does need more big screens across the top to ensure you can follow the action.

Really nice to be on a real race track with your own car after playing all the driving games in my life. 🏁
Got some thrill from accelerating, couldn’t speed over 60 km/h however. 2x 30s fast-forward video of me on the circuit. 🚘
As captured- traffic police entering the area when I was exiting the circuit. This circuit is frequented by mobile speed cams. 🚔

So good to be back at this track this year. As always the racing runs like clockwork. I think the experience this year is better than any of the previous ones I've been to. And there have been a mixed bunch of 'creative' people up on the mountain..
Peter Howie (Surveyor) — Google review
Great place to drive around and absolutely stunning views around sunrise / sunset. There is a boardwalk which is worth walking along too but it is quite steep in sections.
Luke Zhou — Google review
This place is a hidden heaven. The top of the mountain at Mount Panorama is a great spot to just sit and chill if you are around. Although many peeps were jogging on the whole track which was quite impressive as its approx. 6 kms (inclined) but the whole place had a great vibe honestly.
And and and, you get to watch bunch of Kangaroos just roaming around the area too.
Will surely go there again soon, hopefully to watch a race on this amazing track.

Very clean. The drive is very nice with places to look left and right. Speed on conrod feels to slow they need to add an extra 20kph. Ticked off a bucket list it was awesome i highly recommend.

Absolutely breathtaking. We went in the early afternoon and just as the sun was setting. A beautiful, peaceful drive with stop points to view. Highly recommend. It was certainly worth the drive.
Do stop into the car museum as you exit.

Mount Panorama, the words instantly bring the roaring of supercars charging up the mountain and that same buzz of excitement is what you feel as you drive onto the circuit (even at 60km).
A motor racing iconic location, stunning scenery and views all around.
Will I be back, absolutely.
Rebecca Buchanan — Google review
Have a drive around this iconic circuit.
The bends coming off the top of the mountain are very steep and very sharp. Amazing how fast a supercar gets through this bit.
Then go around the other way, remember it's 60kph and two way traffic, but it shows how sterp and windy the track is
Timm Anderson — Google review
A truly amazing experience to be able to experience driving like a pro, however the speed limit is only 60km.
The views from the mountain is stunning and you can even park your car and have a walk at the top of the mountain.
Totally free, but just make sure you stick to the speed limit as cops just come out from no where.
Kim Nguy — Google review
One of the most iconic race track in the world. The panoramic views at the top of the mountain are surreal, and there are plenty of opportunities for decent pictures with no fence obstructing the race cars around the track. Great atmosphere too during the Bathurst 12 Hours.

Amazing weather, if you like cool misty mornings followed by warm summer days, nature, fields of green and gold, with mother nature's music surrounding you on all sides. Wether travelling for a day visit while passing through, or camping, glamping,, hotels and motels for special holidays, Bathurst's Mount Panorama race track is the one ultimate walk and must do and see from the pit lane straight all the way to the top to Mount Panorama's specially named Brock's Skyline and the view in all weather is both breathtaking and amazing in all directions.
Why not stop at the local wineries located directly on the 6.2km Mount Panorama track. For your night caps and gifts for family members special day.

Mount Panorama motor car racing circuit is up there with the best in the world. The size makes it great for action all the time, but the elevation of the Mount is amazing, something you will never see on TV until you are here. You can drive around too but ONLY at the speed limit LOL.

If you've never driven the track before, you definitely should try and get on a manufacturer's driving experience or professional drivers training day.
You definitely gain a better appreciation for the professional racing drivers who go around here for hours at a time.

Loved walking through this beautiful family home. So much to view and the grounds were nice to walk around, checked out the peacocks and peahens too. Furniture artworks and fireplaces were amazing. Enjoyed it for 2hrs+ Well worth the entry fee, will come back another time.

Very nice area with a vibrant house. The owner family still lives there and the people still work there as part of daily errands. So many exciting heritage and nostalgic items around the house and nice car collection.

We did the garden self-tour only, which was fine as there are plaques full of information.
Largest Scottish thistles that I have seen!
It must be very hard to maintain the original very extensive gardens without considerable funding. Gardens seem to need a more singular vision, and are in danger of becoming a mishmash of enthusiasms.
Peacocks were an unexpected highlight of this walk for me!
Siobhan Mc Inerney — Google review
Beautiful old house. Very cluttered inside feels like there is too much stuff inside not relevant to a house of that age. The owners were welcoming and are fixing the place themselves so doesn't seem to have government funding support etc. Small entry fee $15. Beautiful gardens

This place is full of amazingly gorgeous historical items from around the globe the house itself is an architectural wonder. They are always improving, renovating and restoring. Currently underway are renovations to include a cafe which will be wonderful. Also fingers crossed that the guide book with details of many of the objects will be finished soon. Looking forward to reading more about the house history and contents Christopher 😁

We visited the house during Easter holiday.
The entrance fee is $15 each and there are lots to look around.
Very beautiful garden and antiques in the house.
Highly recommended to visit!
* thanks for finding my lost wallet and sending it back to me*

The house has very interesting furniture but has dead animals skins. Other then that they can be suitable for animal lovers because of a cat named Wilson, a turtle called Henry/Hank, an unnamed tabby and many, many peacocks in the garden. Perfect for history lovers too! Sometimes, you can just have a look around the garden outside. There is a church, an antique store and many more! Also, you don't need a guided tour because there is many signs of information inside and out.

I really enjoyed my morning at Abercrombie house. Seeing a part of our history still alive and housing an Aussie family was wonderful, it's like its still breathing. And the staff member was lovely and getting to talk to the family members on the day I was there was fantastic also.

A beautiful mansion built in the mid 19th century. I was fortunate to visit on the annual Scottish Day. It was fabulous with lone pipers, a pipe band, singers and dancers.
The house itself is fascinating and nearly every room was open.
I will visit again.
Louise Walsh — Google review
This magnificent estate is well worth a visit. So much to see in so many painstakingly restored rooms. From the massive ballroom to the hundreds of authentic furniture pieces and a bewildering number of fireplaces. The grounds are also a sight to behold with all the lawns, gardens, stables, blacksmith quarters and other outbuildings. Friendly and helpful staff to answer all questions on the history of the place. Highly recommend at least a three hour visit.
Al Packer — Google review
This was cool, but a bit strange.
The house and historic furnishings and trinkets were lovely, and it was interesting to look around and imagine what life would've been like. It wasn't busy at all, and we were at our leisure to wander around at our own pace without getting in anyone's way.
The number of rooms and winding staircases and windows and balconies is just beyond anything we build today.
Although the renovations have been underway for literally half a century, they seem very haphazard and even the bits that are open to the public have extension leads running everywhere, visible fire extinguishers, filyhy patched carpet etc, and no information about what the room was used for, how it would've been decorated etc.
Every flat surface in the house is crammed with mis-matched bric-a-brac with no information about what it is or how it relates to the house. E.g. a Chinese vase is shoved next to an African wood carving, next to an ancient arrowhead, with some old glass water bottles stacked nearby.
Every wall is covered with random pictures and pieces of artwork, from military scenes to yachts to nude sketches to flower tapestries to family photos. Again there is no information about their time period, where they came from, how they were acquired, or how they relate to the house.
Yet there is a full A4 page dedicated to the pet turtle, and one for the yabby as well.
The gardens are not really maintained and are just "there"; not set out with seating to sit and enjoy. You can wander among the out-buildings, but none of them are open to look at and most of them have junk stacked under the verandahs etc.
The grounds do have some interesting and detailed information about the white settlers, the building of the house, the women who occupied it during WWII etc.
Overall, it's an interesting historical experience. There is plenty to see, and the family has obviously put a lot of love and hard work into it, but it feels haphazard and directionless.
Talia Kent — Google review
Abercrombie House is a magnificent looking house. The construction is a tribute to the builders of the time, as well as those who selected the materials for the building.
As the house is now occupied, not all of the rooms are accessible, but the house is so big, and there are so many rooms to visit, that this hardly matters.
We did find that the house was overly cluttered with souvenirs and mementos from the various family's travels and there was no pattern or theme to all the items in the house. It seems to be a random collection of items from around the world. It was a little more difficult to appreciate the inside of the house, the pictures of those who have lived or connected to the various residents of the home or how the house was home to various families in the time it has stood.
It's still well worth visiting for a glimpse into the early years of life in Bathurst and surrounds. The grounds of the home are beautiful and tell the story of how the more well to do lived in the past.
Abercrombie house is about 10 minutes or so from the centre of Bathurst, hidden away from the main highways and even the local roads.
Rick Power — Google review
Great to see a part of history is still here. Happy to pay the entry fee to contribute to restoration. The house definitely needs more maintenance and cleaning. The rooms open to public needs a lot of tidying up so it wouldn't feel like it's just random stuff piled up here and there. I understand that this would require lots of hard work and not to mention $$$. Funny to see the Christmas decos in July.
Jenny Hao — Google review
A time capsule sitting on the green.
The attention to details of the building's original design is amazing. The occupants of the great mansion over the years brought culture from around the globe back into their rooms and further enriched the visiting experience.
A recommended attraction on the outskirts of Bathurst.

Great little spot for wine tasting when in Milthrope, great wines and the lady that guided us through the tasting was amazing.

Went in for a tasting and they were some of the best Mediterranean reds I’ve had in a while. Their Barbera is to die for - very well balanced and smooth on the tongue. Best wine though for me was the Crossing Reserve Harriet. The atmosphere was nice and chill and the service was impressive as well. Highly recommend!

Wonderfully made, complex, interesting wines at fair prices. They have the Standards though also Italian styles perfect for our climate that you rarely see. Great cellar door tasting experience.

Amazing building. Perfect idea for a vineyard that's located a bit of a drive from town. Fully set up for all tasting. Amazingly accommodating, offering all 17 wines for tasting if you choose. The wines were overall exceptional. Staff were extremely helpful and could offer enough.

Wine was OK but service was so poor I was genuinely reduced to tears. The server who greeted us was incredibly rude to us when we entered and rolled her eyes at us when we asked if there were any bookings available. She then lectured us about “etiquette” despite us only asking if there were any availabilities. Did not enjoy. Would not recommended. 0/10

We loved the wine tasting at Angullong. Shayne looked after us and she is so Knowledgeable and charming (she even remembered us from months before). Make sure you book online and have plenty of time for tasting. They are so generous here and there are about 20 wines to try. I especially loved their reserve Shiraz, late harvest Riesling and Pinot Grigio (and walked away with a number of the reserve and late harvest - I still have last year's Pinot Grigio). They have all price and palate points covered, I highly recommend going to angullong.

We have been regular wine club subscribers for some time, and so when we were wedding planning we asked our venue to organise an Angullong Wines sparkling rose champagne tower for our special day. Angullong was completely accommodating to this request and were very easy for our venue to communicate with. Our guests loved the wine and polished off the champagne tower in no time at all!
P.s. in case you wanted to add a little extra theatre to the experience, the Angullong bottles can also easily be popped with a machete (under supervision :P).

Cook Park is a Victorian-era city park that offers a variety of attractions including an aviary, Begonia glass house, and fernery. The park is well-maintained and offers free entry with plenty of parking available around its perimeter. It's a great place to spend time with family and friends, especially for children who will enjoy the fountain, pond, swing and birds. Regular events are held throughout the year in addition to the seasonal Begonia display.
Loved this garden. It has many attractions such as an aviary, Begonia glass house and a fernery. Everything was well looked after and can easily spend at least an hour strolling across the gardens. Free entry and plenty of parking around the perimeter of the garden.

I used Cook Park as the background for a cake smash and it went fantastic. The grounds are beautiful - even in winter. The grass is green, the flowers are bright. There is a playground for the older child to play on while the baby had his photos taken, and the birds in the aviary were fantastic, both kids were obsessed.
There are an abundance of picnic tables, so there's never a shortage of places to sit and enjoy the scenery, and there is parking along all sides of the block so parking is a breeze.

first time I found this park when I'm driving around Orange. it's quite a big for a park with a lot of huge trees. when you have a closer look to the tree, it has a box of description about the tree. apparently some of them is USA origin.
It has aviary park, contain sleepy cockatoos (I really hope they can sleep well 🥺), and some other small colourful birds.
It has female and male toilet. on the way there you can see a water fountain with statue in the middle, some boys pouring water. and there is drinkable water fountain next to it (just a friendly reminder, don't drink from the statue) 😇.

Cook Park truly is a gem in the heart of town. It's amazing how a space so tranquil and peaceful can exist in the midst of all the hustle and bustle.
I particularly enjoyed learning about the history of the park while exploring the different sections, such as the Bagonia greenhouses. It's always fascinating to discover the stories behind these types of public spaces and to see how they have evolved over time.
The park is flat and easy to navigate for people with limited mobility or disabilities.
The stunning old trees are a highlight of the park and add so much character to the space. It's amazing to think about how long they have been there and how much history they have witnessed.
Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to Cook Park to anyone looking for a serene and informative outdoor experience. It's a great place to escape from the chaos of everyday life and connect with nature and history at the same time.

Very nice place to visit on a Sunday afternoon. I love the amount of trees and the shade they provide. Plenty of chairs and open space for play or to relax. A nice rose garden and a free bird enclosure there as well. Pkenty of duck ponds if you would like to feed the ducks and ducklings. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful medium sized park, with lots to see (much preferred than botanic gardens). Autumn colours drifting into winter browns.
Aviary (talking cockatoos, budgerigars, cockatiels, galahs) - seem happy enough for caged birds (cockatoo eager to hole punch a finger). Fernery and Conservatory (full of flowering Begonias) were shut, but could still look in the windows. Guild craft shop lovely to visit (especially if you like slices and jams / chutnies). Trees are magnificent. Roses wilting for winter.

When we visited the botanical gardens in Orange, we were initially surprised by the abundance of evergreen trees instead of the traditional autumn colours we had expected. However, we quickly realized that the lush greenery was just as beautiful.
One unexpected surprise was the number of fruit trees in the garden. We were delighted to see a variety of fruit trees throughout the gardens. It was a unique and enjoyable experience that we didn't expect to find in a botanical garden.
The garden's dog-friendly policy was also a plus, and we enjoyed seeing other people walking their pets. The park was peaceful and serene, and we appreciated the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.
Overall, while the botanical gardens in Orange may not have had the traditional autumn colours we were expecting, we found the lush greenery and abundance of fruit trees to be a wonderful surprise. It's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for a peaceful place to take a walk, especially if you're a dog owner.

Amazing wines!! Family business, excellent service and they use nice wine glasses for the tasting to make it a quality experience.
Nice deck area in summer and also a cosy indoor area which would be great for winter.
The wines aren’t sold commercially- only to certain restaurants so you need to buy from their cellar door.
Highly recommend De Salis Wines!

By far, my favourite vineyard in Orange. Anna and Ben made the experience super special as they took us on the most epic wine journey, magnificently explaining the notes for each wine. I'm obsessed with their Pinot's, and each one just kept getting better. Get me a case of the blue label. I'll be back!
Alicia Gilmore — Google review
The wine! The view! The wine! The view!. That's what your brain will be doing when you visit, and you have to if you are in orange.
We met Ben and tasted the Pinot noir at Pinot palooza before covid put a hold on everything. The wine and his incredible enthusiasm for what they were doing got us to the vineyard, finally, years later than expected.
This is one of those tastings that really highlights a winery that makes what the vineyard and their skills allows them too, and does each variety so well. There are no weak spots and the crew who walk you through them are exceptional. We were lucky enough to have Anna and on top of the awesome run down of the process to arrive at each of these delicious glasses, gave us a serious rundown of some technical aspects to winemaking as it applied to what we were tasting.
Yes the view is incredible but the wine holds its own and then some. It snows up there but I think winter would be another twist in our journey following what these guys are making.
Oh, Forte and Knox are two of the cutest vineyard dogs going round!

Some wineries do more than just tasting, they provide a memorable experience, and that is what Dr Salis gave us this afternoon. 10-star experience! Not to mention the wines. The 2021 Chardonnay & 2019 Pinot Noir were stand outs. Anna was astoundingly knowledgeable, and made the entire tasting a blast. If you only go to one cellar door in Orange, make sure it’s De Salis! (And join their wine club).

Outstanding!! I loved the very personal experience of this and the enormous passion that shone through. You can ask whatever questions you want!!. Personal thanks to Charlie for his time and knowledge sharing and willingness to field the questions we had. It’s evident Charlie and the family has made wine from a real love! I I observed everyone doing wine tastings and I believe every person would have had a truly special experiences. If in Orange, this is a must visit!!

One of my 2 favourite wineries in the region. I love the wines, the location, the service and their exquisite attention to detail. It is very well thought out yet not pretentious at all with a lot of little "hidden treasures" to explore around the winery. You can tell it is a family business and everything that is done here is done with love and passion. Excellent service, beautiful views, delicious wines, gorgeous Plumm glasses that really make a difference in the tasting and a welcoming, knowledgeable team/family. I will keep coming back and am happy to have joined the wine club.

The views and hospitality from Anna was priceless. Very chilled venue, perched quite high up overlooking the vineyards.
Anna was amazing from the start and very knowledgeable about the wines. She made it a very memorable experience.
Really enjoyed the sparkling wine.
Dog friendly.

De Salis is my favourite winery in Australia and I always love visiting the cellar door when we're in Orange. The Svensons are always hospitable, take the time to tell stories of their different wines and have a good chat. Loretta even brought out toys for my toddler to play with today, and while we enjoyed our wine tasting he had an absolute ball playing and making friends with the doggies. So great to see the family business going from strength to strength. Here's hoping 2021 brings a great harvest.
Here we are again in 2024 with two children in tow. Yet again we experienced wonderful hospitality and top notch wines. Plus we were fortunate to have a tour of the winery with Loretta and Mitch showing the kids some of their machinery. We really can't go past De Salis.
