Museum of Australian aviation with aircraft, artifacts & viewing platforms in a hangar-style space.
As a big naval aviation fan I was really looking forward to coming here and it did not disappoint! There was tons to see lots of memorabilia from ww1-now and everything in-between! Aswell as a plethora of aircraft especially helicopters, I really enjoyed seeing the sea fury and venom but unfortunately the main aircraft I came to see (A4 Skyhawk) is currently moved elsewhere. The reception staff are friendly and let you do your own thing and look around and the gift shop has plenty of awesome things! The simulator was also super fun, but the best part of all is that entry to see all this is completely free!! Definitely recommend to anyone interested traveling by the area!

Great activity for a rainy day. Free entry. A lot is on display here to see and learn about ranging from photographs and equipment through engines to trainer jets, fighter jets and helicopters from various times. Realistic helicopter flight simulator. Great gift shop. We had a great time here with family. Friendly staff was very helpful explaining how flying helicopters woks.
Petr Vavrinec — Google review
Really cool place with a bunch of aircraft placed in chronological order. It tells you facts about the aircraft as well as stories of people who've flown in them. Entry is free as well and it was not congested. Restrooms available and everything was clean.
Pranav Borse — Google review
A great place to visit to see historical Australian Navy aircraft of both fixed wing and rotary.
There are many boards with detailed information about the aircraft, their use and the shops they were carried on. There are cut aways of engines and weapons.
The Huey helicopter flight simulator is run and educational allowing one to experience flying that aircraft.
There is a gift shop also.

A great place for history and military history enthusiasts! Especially kids! It is a place if you love to see real size war planes from World war to unmanned planes in display! The helicopter flying simulation was a real hands on experience of flying... My son loved it. It is free to all, accessible easily from princesss highway and some good collection of planes, scaled models of warships, gigantic parts of ships, old artifacts and videos of those times. If all this is of your interest, do definitely visit... Kids will love it...

I NEARLY DIED AT THE ENTRY COST . . . IT'S FREE 🤓😜😅👍
DON'T MISS A VISIT TO THIS IMPORTANT MUSEUM.
Cassandra on reception is fantastic very helpful and pleasant.
Displays were a bit dissapointing with a lot missing and others in the process of being moved,
I'm sure it will be great again when new displays are finished.
The facility really needs to have a cafe and refreshments DOWNSTAIRS AT (GROUND LEVEL).
During our many visits, I've never seen the cafe open and the steep stairs makes access impossible for many patrons.
Presentation of the displays is excellent and very professional, WELL DONE.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SMALL LOCAL BUSINESSES.

Very well presented with not a huge collection of aircraft but enough. Mainly post ww2 craft, helicopters and fixed wing. Nice models of battle ships and aircraft carriers. Souvenir shop sells quote a bit of navy apparel. Plenty of parking.

This is a fantastic museum. Entry via donation. Awesome models of ship planes from several wars. All well preserved. We’ll worth the visit

Great museum with various types of navy planes as well as a helicopter flight stimulator

One of the best air museums I have been. Excellent collection and presentation. Even better as it’s free. There’s parking at the site, don’t park 1st parking you see on left.

Had a blast today. Got treated with an “open day” for Navy and Army, so heaps more on offer. Even if the extra vehicles and gear wasn’t there it still would have been amazing.
Big shout out to the people hosting the stations and giving out free goodies to the kids. Such a great atmosphere and made the experience even better!

Was nice visit of RAN aircrafts from 30's to recent ones which RAN used in Gulf War.

Fun-filled experience, good knowledge for all ages, well maintained and free entry! One can easily spend an hour or more exploring all the displays. The simulator chopper is good one too!

Brilliant tribute. Spacious, well designed. An aviation/historic must-see. Now free of charge.

The museum has changed quite a lot since our last visit (back in the 1990s). Have always been impressed with aircraft and more so by naval aviators, so it is always good to read their stories and look at the aircraft that they flew.
Our visit was on a warm Saturday morning, earlier in February 2023. Entry is free, however you can make a donation on entry.
Easy to walk around on the ground level, although I didn't see a lift to the upper level for those who are less mobile... there may be one there, but I didn't notice it.
Recommended.
Explore the stunning Three Views walking track in Kangaroo Valley, offering a relatively easy 9.5km clifftop walk across Brooks Plateau that takes about three to four hours to complete. The track provides breathtaking lookouts showcasing vistas of the Shoalhaven River, Lake Yarrunga, and Tallowa Dam. Located in the north of Morton National Park, this trail features three cliff-edge viewing points with different perspectives of the surrounding landscapes.
Complete with my hat, water and a friend, this was a pleasant ridgeline hike to three easy to access natural lookouts ... a carpark on the opposite side of the road to the entrance is safe and convenient.
If you are staying in Kangaroo Valley, then this and the short drive down the road to the dam are worth the time and effort.
Mark Watson — Google review
Nice walking track. Very easy but not up there with the best.
Clara Folcarelli — Google review
Worth it for the views for sure. But the three trails itself are a bit boring compared to some other trails around. Still nice and especially the Shoalhaven river view is amazing, but not worth to do it again. Very easy 9k walk, which took us 2h15m to complete, very accessible for every level.
Guy van Bergen — Google review
It's all about the end view with these walks.
Beautiful open cliff edge rock platforms await at the end of the Lake Yarrunga View Trail - which provides the best views of the three trails here.
The dirt track is easy grade, wide and level however not as picturesque as the end views. There's also not much shade cover along the track so bring hats/sunscreen.
Tips:
- Entry to this trail is not sign posted. Look out for the '100' speed limit signage flanking both sides of the road. There is a small parking area to one side of the road and the trail gate is right opposite the parking area.
- Pack a bite and spend a lovely afternoon soaking up some sunshine on a rock platform.

This is a relatively easy walk. A little uneven, but I would think most ppl could manage it. Going out to the Lake lookout and the Tallowa Dam lookout, we were rewarded with fabulous views. Reminders of last year's bushfire are everywhere, but so is the evidence of nature's resilience. Looking forward to visiting again in spring.
Steve Amesbury — Google review
Beautiful set of three short walks, really flat and family friendly, clear signage, at track start (pictured). 9km if you walk all three tracks but great simple short walks on their own. Very open cliffs! Would be suitable for a off road pram
Coralie McC — Google review
9k combined easy walking- there and back for each view. Pretty exposed fire trails so be prepared if hot but the view back over the dam is worth it! If you have to choose one of the three I would choose the dam view as it was the best of the three (for me) - there wasn’t much water in river when I visited!
Kaitlin Kramer — Google review
Easy walk meandering through bushland that will take you to great views of the Shoalhaven river. Surface is sandy. Great to see bush regeneration after the fires earlier this year.
Hugh Ditchfield — Google review
9.8km walk in total. The track consists of 3 views: Shoalhaven river, Tallowa river and Lake Yarrunga.

Nice fairly flat track. Very nice view at the end. Recovering well after the fires.

My wife and I had lunch here for the first time on Saturday to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we were pleasantly surprised.
The service was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious! We ended up having entree, main and shared a huge dessert.
We can’t wait to come back again!

We always love going with a bunch of friends to Southern Highlands Winery for lunch because chef Marco Salvestrin and his staff (including Widia!) always look after us so well and the meal is always delicious.
We love that he makes everything from scratch. This time the starter of Fritto Misto (fried calamari, prawns, scallops, barramundi) was a big hit, as was the main dish Duck Leg served with roasted vegetables and caramelised onion. The selection of Traditional Italian Desserts included profiteroles filled with icecream and house made panatone.
Some of the girls say this is their favourite place to eat in the Southern Highlands! We will be going back again before too long, that's for sure.
Jill Dyson — Google review
Nice winery. We just stumbled in without any reservation. Got the last table available that was, unfortunately, a bit wobbly. Hard to say at the end if it was the wine or the table ;-)
Unfortunately, there was also nothing left to go with the wine as demand surprised the owners on the day. But enough complains. The wine tasting experience was great fun and, although we did not have the Southern highlands on the radar compared to the hunter valley wines, it ended up growing on us. This continued for the bottles we took home. The reds are a bit lighter, more like French reds, rather than my favourite Austrian, Spanish or Chilean that are more full bodied. But still we ended up liking it a lot. So overall: Great discovery!

Amazing winery!! Staff were friendly, polite, welcoming and generous. The cuisine was mouthwatering!! The wine was delicious and ambiance very nice. The Veal Saltimbocca was spectacular!! I want to know where you source out the potatoes. Are they from Robinson? I will be coming back again for sure. Anyone visiting the southern highlands must stop in and check out the winery. And the tiramisu…. OMGoodness!!! Yummmmm!!! Thank you. Bravo a tutti.

Excellent experience ! Food and wine was delicious and scenery was relaxing and lowkey. Staff were very friendly…. Was dog friendly for outdoor seating which we loved! Would recommend coming here for some nibbles and quality time with friends, family or a special one.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, having lunch there. It was a beautiful location, service was great and our lunch was beautiful! We will definitely return next time we visit the highlands.
Narelle Townsend — Google review
Southern highland winery doesn’t have the nicest scenery from the dining room because the vineyards is actually on the way in, but it did have beautiful yellow leaf maple trees. What the restaurant does have is delicious food and great service. We were 1 hour late, but they fully understand and still happily set our table up with a nice window view. As with all wineries, booking is essential and if no booking then you won’t get a table. The main dishes are large in portion and price is reasonable. The main thing is we were happy with the quality of the food. My recommendation would be the home made garlic bread, salad, lasagna and the mixed seafood pasta together with a glass of wine.
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a wonderful time we had at SHW on Saturday. Choosing the banquet menu was the best idea for our party. Each dish was delicious! Daniel went out of his way to cater for my vegan friends. The atmosphere was warm and caring. Some chose to indulge in a tasting before the luncheon. All in all we experienced an unhurried and satisfying time in a great setting.

Amazing! My favourite vineyard in the southern highlands. The staff are very friendly and Marco’s food is delicious! The Semifreddo Tiramisu is absolutely amazing same as the Fregola Marinara paired with the Oldbury Reserve Riesling. Can’t wait to come back for a cooking class!

The food here is amazing! The service is what really let it down. When my family and I arrived for our booking, it almost felt like we were an imposition to the staff. No smiles, no greeting, just “wait 10 minutes.” Throughout the 2 hour sitting, no check ins, or service. We had to wave to the staff to order, to receive the bill etc. I don’t think I’ve received such poor service for some time..
This garden is amazing. Make sure you allow time to wander gradually. There’s so much to see and photograph.

I have so many photos of this amazing hidden garden. It was exploding with beautiful Autumn colours. It was peaceful & delightful. Can’t wait to come back in Spring. There are a number of dogs there so if you are frightened of dogs take care, they were near the front gate as I entered. The ground was moist & muddy in some locations so take care walking around.

Toilets are out of service. Been like that for a while.

A very well planned, built and maintained garden. Possibly the best in the region and well worth a long visit to meander the various sections and admire the variety of plant life, manicured hedges, pretty flowers, ornate statues and tranquil pond and water features. Well worth visiting and entry fee, and worth returning to see it in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Beautiful garden! Lots of bees, flowers, statues. Kinda transports you to England.
Not pram-friendly so bring a carrier.
There’s also a pub nearby with decent food if you get hungry.
Heads-up - there’s an entry fee. Children don’t enter for free.

An absolutely stunning garden and a must visit when heading down to the Southern Highlands if you enjoy being mindful and taking in beautiful sights/gardens. My husband is usually not the type to appreciate a beautiful garden the way that I would but he actually thoroughly enjoyed the visit here and said it was the highlight of our trip down this way. There’s beauty to be found in every corner here.

We have been here before but that was a few years ago. I think that the recent heat has knocked them around a bit and they would have been better a few weeks ago.
They are still nice, and worth a visit but are not at their peak

Not only beautiful and soul-nourishing, the creators/owners are kind, humble and so skilled. It's a magical place. I came early Nov + it was heaven.

We had a great visit! This was well worth the money for entry, $15 adults / $10 seniors. Some very interesting garden rooms and obviously a great deal of work to keep it fresh. Was a quiet place, which made it even more special. It was a warm day, around 27°, but amongst the trees it was very pleasant watching the parrots and butterflies.
We had just had lunch a few kilometres north at the Southern Highlands Winery and wanted to work off some of the calories before getting back in the car for the return trip. This was a perfect place to wind down and smell the roses. We were really able to chill out and explore the beautiful surroundings in a very relaxed atmosphere and quiet location. I have never seen as many manicured hedges or variety of maple trees. Happy to have found this in my searching and would highly recommend if you appreciate the landscape design work. Would even be fairly accessible to impaired walkers but probably a bit harder for a wheelchair. We parked in the Red Cow Lane maybe 50 m north of the cottage.
Loveliest spot we had all day and we saw quite a few places in the Southern Highlands, great escape.

The Grape Escape all the way. Scott and Mira have tailored our wine tours, to us. They take the time to get to know the people who are going on the tour and tailor your needs, wants and likes. It IS SO PERSONAL. They are also so informative about the wineries and distilleries you visit and that was a definite plus for us. A great tour and well priced. Cant wait for the self guided version (hopefully in a couple of years). A lot to see and great work on conserving some of the buildings 👌. The tours only run a few times a year at present so get on their mailing list for notifications about when they are on. The distillery is open most weekends though and the cafe so still worth a visit

Hidden little gem with it's own distillery. Tour of the distillery and tasting was quite interesting. Staff/owners were lovely and knowledgable. They brew there own scotch, gin, ouzo and have there twist on a beautiful port. I purchased the port and ouzo to drink straight even tho I'm not an ouzo drinker. Scotch will be purchased when its restocked. Self guided tour of the heritage listed site was great fun and interesting to do with my son. Would be good to see guided tours down the track but that costs big dollars to set up and run. 1300 people lived her back in the early 1800's, mostly Welsh as they knew how to mine. Definitely worth a visit if you like to explore, alcohol tasting or understand a little of our heritage. Enjoy :)

No tours any more due to hike in insurance / local government laws etc , such a pity , a serene very pretty habitat , would definitely suit cabins to rent . however you can have a tour / talk in the Distillery , weekends only . Ve r y interesting / informative . Available for sale and tasting , Brandy , Gin , whisky , Ouzo and sherry . Toilet facilities , shelter shed , picnic tables ( only to use on guided tour and catered for by owners of land including historic town of Joadja .) . Joadja site was made by the miners who used the shale to make kerosene .
Well worth a visit , support an Aussie venture!!!

This was our 6th visit to the Ghost Town, such a wonderful place with the best hosts you could ask for. The food is truly excellent
Constructed to honor the fighting men of WWI, this monument also houses a museum of the military.
Great views over the wetlands and Goulburn. The new museum is situated in a small garden of rosemary and native plants - very nicely laid out.
Interesting to see some of the explanations on the training facilities that were in Goulburn before the young guys got sent off to meet their fate in First World War. This senseless loss partly explains why the town has a memorial and museum on such an excellent piece of real estate rather than a hotel or church.

Only got to go up the tower, as the kids fell asleep in the car (Partner waited with them as I went up)
We didn't think the tower or museum would be open, as Google said they weren't, so we were pleasantly surprised when they were!

Worth the walk up to the top of the inside of the war memorial building, quite a few stairs but worth it 👍

Brilliant place of history, it's on top of a hill and that makes it an even better place to visit. For someone really interested in first and second World War, there's so much here for you. Museum and tower were all closed up at 11am today, during school holidays, which was rather disappointing. We found out when we arrived and a printed notice was up, after we'd looked on Google maps and found it should be open.
Good views from the base of the tower but we would have liked to see inside.
There are a couple of information signs outside to look at. One talks about Aboriginal history but seemed like more of a political statement.
A few walking tracks seem to exist around the hills coming off the road.
Accessible parking.
Edit: we returned and got a view from the top. The guy had just locked the door at 3:55 but opened it up again for us for 5 minutes which was great.

Did not go into the museum for time reasons, but enjoyed the memorial a lot. Thoroughly windy and cold the day we were there, so be warned. The views were spectacular. The stairs up the memorial strong and reliable but quite a few but worth it to look at the photos. An excellent experience and great activity.

This light house and war memorial and museum has a large display of ww1 and ww2 artifacts, wepens, photo and Member billia. This like Uniforms, rifle Machine guns, and lot more.
A Must see if you or your family are in the Area. Recommend taking a look.

It was nice enough but the windows needed cleaning up at the top of the memorial.
It wasn't the nicest morning but I'm sure it looks nicer when the blue sky can be seen.
The photos on the walls were good.

Goulburn is an amazing town located between Canberra & Sydney.
Belmore Park is in the middle of the town & within walking distance of cafes, restaurants, shopping centres, The Soldiers Club, The Workers Club & other iconic places of Goulburn.
The park has something for everyone!
- a great playground for children
- magnificent gardens with hundreds of plants flowering
- large, huge & unique trees
- picnic tables & chairs
- public toilets
- pathway around the park… be mindful of some of the large tree roots have lifted small sections of the path ie if you have mobility issues and/or a mobility aid

Lovely park in the heart of Goulburn opposite the main street and Goulburn Soldiers Club. Lots of nice walking paths, toilets available and 45 degree angle parking. Nice playground for kids aged 2-10 with ample shade and benches. Playground has swings, seesaws, slides, train structure and a few climbing pieces. There is also a small greenhouse you can visit in the middle of the park.
Large ram statue standing as monument to the local wool industry, with an adjacent souvenir shop.
The biggest Christmas Baubles I have ever seen! Awesome monument to call by when heading through Goulburn. Amazing wee city for old school architecture too.

The big Merino is in the corner of Hume and, Sowerby St, Goulburn NSW. Nicknamed "Rambo" by locals, the Big Merino contains a gift shop on the ground floor and a wool display on the second floor which it was closed at the time I visited the Rambo, not sure about the reason. The Big Merino, built in 1985. Standing 15.2 meters high, 18 meters long and weighing 97 tones at the time of construction. The complex was opened on September 20 1985. Normally it is not busy but the date I visited it was long weekend and school holidays which made it extremely busy.
Lots of restaurants and cafe nearby to dine in.
I loved the gift shop in the ground floor. The gift shop was full of good quality made in Australia specifically made in Goulburn items. I liked the wild Australian animals made with wool section.

Definitely worth a visit.
An Australian treasure located at the southern end of Goulburn.
There is a big merino gift shop attached to him and from inside the gift shop you can access stairs which take you up inside the sculpture, which is actually hollow. At the top you can look out of his eyes over the town. On the way up, each level is full of the wool industries history.
Great gift shop with lovely staff.
Free parking.
Wheelchair accessible parking and entry
No toilet but you will find yourself right next to the servo which has toilets.

I have to admit that the Marino Possum is the best wool type wear I've ever had, no over heating like sheep's wool.
Thank you New Zealand possum for your fur. I will cherish my hat and gloves.

I got to climb the big Merino to the top and see through the eyes. The most famous landmark in Goulburn but I must say there’s much more and much better in Goulburn than the Merino.

It's huge. A fun little pit stop. The Little Shop is nice, just around the corner too.

The entrance up to the sheep is via the gift shop
The view from inside the sheep is a bit disappointing as you just see a Coles fuel station and a roundabout
Better to take a photo from outside with the sheep instead

You can see The biggest statue of a Sheep 🐑. Very nice place with facilities of gas/ petroleum, foods n restaurants.

One of the better BIG Things. A good selfie spot, front and back !!
Plenty of parking..

It's BIG! Not quite as famous as its other big things brethren, but definitely more useful items in the gift shop. Beware of the high traffic as a result of the petrol station, Subway and Trapper's across the road

You haven't been to Goulburn unless you have taken a photo of the big merino. There used to be a restaurant inside but now it's a gift shop as there are petrol stations and other fast food stores around.

Lots of sheep information in the Merino, enter through wool shop and up the stairs lots of stairs to look out his eyes. Staff in shop were friendly, shop had a lot of merino wool products.

Good spot to stop on way or from Canberra and Sydney. Fuel nearby. Good free wool museum in the body of the merino, head to the top for views out the eyes. Lots of good things to buy for yourself or as gifts in the shop.

We visited this landmark which is located at a rest stop where there are petrol stations and cafes. It is a very tall Merino sheep statue indeed and great for a photo momento.

Man, this is one big concrete sheep. I think it's concrete; I confess I didn't go up and eyeball it or touch it. If it is concrete, it is actually a pretty darn impressive sculpture, not merely for it's size but also it's visage. It's... a merino. The gift shop underneath it's behind is stocked with woollen items galore. I am a hankie guy and needed hankies and they had none (I know, I know, you don't get woollen hankies, Paul, and I know this, I was just... hoping because they do sell cloth items). Friendly lady serving me while another shopper admired handbags.

Exactly what it was meant to be.... a big merino, in all areas.
Good photo opportunity, stopped in too early and souvenirs shop was not open... maybe next time

Famous for the big Marino and home of fine wool. For a beautiful panorama of Goulburn, head to the tower lookout at the Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum.
A highly recommended stop point if travelling from South to North or North to South. Great township with great food, views, friendly people and a place to make or remember fondest memories.

This is an amazing estate with excellent food. Having dined around midday on a Saturday, the staff were kind, the service fast, and the food had generous portions with great quality.
The building itself was within a rustic vineyard, nestled in the hills, with an outlook of Lake George (which had water in it at the time of our dining!)
We had smiles all around after our time here, and we thank Lerida Estate for their hospitality. :)

Very pleasant lunch - indeed the squid was a great entree. The views are stunning and lovely to see so much water in Lake George. Main / salads were also fresh & lovely - though lamb & duck were a bit over cooked.

We loved out visit to Lerida Estate Winery. Absolute beautiful place to visit and the team were great. Highly recommend stopping here if you're driving past. Our wine tasting host, Jacka, was very great. He was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Everyone enjoyed their lunch, except me. I unfortunately ordered the Pork Belly, which I usually love, but it was like eating shoe-leather. Whoever cooked it doesn't know how. Such a shame.

A gem of a place to drop in for lunch and do some wine tasting. We spent a couple of hours here and had a great time. Alex was amazing at talking us through our tastings. And lunch was light and fresh and super tasty. Highly recommend the calamari. They offer some unique wines and the view out over the vineyards and Lake George offers great photo opportunities.

I've driven passed this place a million times and never gone in, what a hidden gem this place is.
It's just off the highway but feels like you're up at the Hunter or Mudgee with the vineyard vista with Lake George in the background.
The food is well prepared and delicious, attentive staff and some great wine.

Great little spot for a quick wine as you’re passing through the area. It’s a low key winery, nothing fancy or pretentious. It’s family friendly, with lots of kids around.
The outdoor area could do with a revamp.

Dropped in on our way home to Sydney from Thredbo, we thought we’d just have a look but ended up doing a lovely tasting of all the wines on offer. Our host was Theo who was very friendly, helpful and had some great information and thoughts on the wines on tasting as well as their other reserve wines. The location and tasting room is lovely and the restaurant looks great. There’s a charge per person for tastings but it’s fully refundable on any wine purchases. They really do have some lovely and interesting wines especially the estate Chardonnay, Shiraz and a particularly good Syrah. We were there late on a non school holiday Monday and it was nice an quiet for us but it can get quite busy on weekends.

Stylish cottage in a vineyard for refined bistro dining on select days, plus a cellar door.
Had an amazing experience at Lake George Winery yesterday. We are lunch at the beautiful restaurant called the Westering. The view is absolutely gorgeous overlooking the vineyard and the restaurant space is very open and welcoming. The service from all staff was immaculate, particularly Suzie who we would like to thank. We decided to go for the the 3 course menu matched with the wine. All items were delicious, and the wine seriously impressed us! The serving sizes of each meal were very generous and we were seriously filled up with happy tummies. Can recommend the riesling wine and also the arancini for entree. We then went down to the cellar to buy some bottles of wine and little souvenirs. We had a very pleasant time and would return in a heartbeat!!! Thank you!

Booked and confirmed for lunch for 2, arrived and the lovely lady had no knowledge of our booking, she was very apologetic and seated us at the bar. Food and wine were lovely but the unexpected entertainment was both amusing and frustrating. Robyn was the only person servicing the cellar door area, she had 2 big parties of 20 plus people. Did an amazing job with no real assistance from either the very young lad or the gentleman who flited in and out, Simon?
If not for Robyn we would have walked out. She is a star.

What an experience! I came here on Easter Day all the way from Sydney for a good lunch and just like their reputation, Lake George Winery have delivered once again! The pizza was delicious and the wings were exquisite. The eggplant was a standout and the lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection. The best of all, the customer service. Absolutely mouth watering menu, French toast...Bircher museli...We had breakfast and lunch there. It was amazing. We stayed there overnight in Homestead accommodation. It is a massive house with beautiful views of the mountains and the lake. Kids loved the Jacuzzi. Nice accomodation with clean utilities and breath taking views of Lake George and the mountains. Must visit. 💕
My son & myself love this place so much. The cottage is nice and clean. It has everything you need during the stay. The activities we joined were great too, especially the horse riding. I never like to ride on a horse last time but now my view totally changed, instruction told was clear & the host will make sure everything is fine & safe before we set off. I feel good & really enjoy it this time. The farm is well maintenance and the farm pets are all loveable. And of course, the host - Pauline. She is friendly & responsive. Museum displaying cars, motorcycles & other memorabilia related to Australia's racing history.
I loved our visit to the museum! While I've been a few times over the years, it had been a while and it was the first time taking my family. I always get a kick out of seeing Australian racing history on display and being able to view up close the race cars (and bikes!) I've grown up with was very cool. The quality of the displays and background information is fantastic and a big thanks to the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Without this museum, some of the greatest race cars in Australia wouldn't be seen by the public. Whether you're a die hard race fan or someone who watches once a year when the Bathurst 1000 is on, the museum is a must do if you get the chance!

A lot of fun to see the cars up close. Aptly priced and great location, if you’re driving up Mt you should definitely consider stopping in here. Highly recommend.

The NMRM is located at the entrance to the great Mt Panorama race track. It looks like a small building from the front, but has a treasure trove or racing memories and history inside.
Whether it's motorbikes (racing since 1938!) or cars (since 1963), there's something here for you.
As someone who has watched the Bathurst 1000 since the early 70s, this was a real trip down memory lane. It also provided a few surprises looking at the winners of the first seven or eight years of car racing.
All the major winning vehicles are on display (either replicas or restorations) and it's amazing to think about some of the early winners and they cars they drove.
There are also some cars that have participated in the 12hr and 6hr events, as well as many of the major motorcycle races over the years. If you're a speedway fan, there are even some of those on display!
Even if you're not a motor racing fan, this will still be of interest just from a local history aspect.

Very over rated, very much out dated. I mean the bike board ain't been updated since 1982. Non interactive especially the children's ay ground. They expect people to have a bbq in the picnic ground. The play ground is no good for children, no shade and quite frankly they could have at least made the ay ground an interesting, interactive kids area. One day they may get the idea of what a museum should be. There is much better out there but it depends on where or what you actually want to travel to.

This place is a hidden heaven. The top of the mountain at Mount Panorama is a great spot to just sit and chill if you are around. Although many peeps were jogging on the whole track which was quite impressive as its approx. 6 kms (inclined) but the whole place had a great vibe honestly.
And and and, you get to watch bunch of Kangaroos just roaming around the area too.
Will surely go there again soon, hopefully to watch a race on this amazing track.

Mount Panorama, the words instantly bring the roaring of supercars charging up the mountain and that same buzz of excitement is what you feel as you drive onto the circuit (even at 60km).

Have a drive around this iconic circuit.
The bends coming off the top of the mountain are very steep and very sharp. Amazing how fast a supercar gets through this bit.
Then go around the other way, remember it's 60kph and two way traffic, but it shows how sterp and windy the track is

A truly amazing experience to be able to experience driving like a pro, however the speed limit is only 60km.
The views from the mountain is stunning and you can even park your car and have a walk at the top of the mountain.
Totally free, but just make sure you stick to the speed limit as cops just come out from no where.

One of the most iconic race track in the world. The panoramic views at the top of the mountain are surreal, and there are plenty of opportunities for decent pictures with no fence obstructing the race cars around the track. Great atmosphere too during the Bathurst 12 Hours.

I love attending this circuit. Great track, good spectator areas. Camping here makes it a habitual experience.

Great circuit, local Council need to improve facilities up the top for spectators though.

Mount Panorama motor car racing circuit is up there with the best in the world. The size makes it great for action all the time, but the elevation of the Mount is amazing, something you will never see on TV until you are here. You can drive around too but ONLY at the speed limit LOL.
Richard Jagger — Google review
If you've never driven the track before, you definitely should try and get on a manufacturer's driving experience or professional drivers training day.
You definitely gain a better appreciation for the professional racing drivers who go around here for hours at a time.
The Bathurst 12 hour race is an amazing weekend!

Mountain Straight, Mount Panorama NSW 2795, Australia
1876 school-turned-museum with a renowned collection of fossils, minerals & dinosaur skeletons.
A great little museum with lovely staff. I would recommend between 15 minutes to 1 hour for most. Their gift shop is also a one stop shop for dinosaur themed gifts.
Micci Hatch — Google review
Good place to visit especially with kids. Lot's of collection of minerals and fossil along with its history. Kids were very excited to see dinosaur skeleton. There was 4 questions for kids with answers hidden in the museum and they received a free gift after submitting the paper at the reception. Small place but overall worth visiting atleast once.

Excellent museum for crystal lovers… you can see different collection of crystals.. worth visit if you are lover of fossils and crystals…unless you can avoid…car parking is available on road side… for us it took 40 mins to spend time in Museum… ideally took 1 hour approximately…

Great place especially for those with kids intrested in rocks and fossils. The collection of minerals is amazing. The TRex pet section is a wonderful for young and not so young. The youn man at the desk is a credit to the museum

It's just like you were told as a kid ..you get to see dinosaurs and ancient animals . It's the last few days you can use your discover NSW vouchers and see something really marvelous. It's not a huge building so you will definitely have time to go through and read and really get to know about the artefacts. You enter through the gift shop into a sea of sparkling crystals..amethyst amber's and others crystals.. so many you could spend the day admiring nature's jewellery.. you walk through into the other room to be greeted by two huge dinosaur cast from original bone casts and recreated for display. Walking along the room you could experience walking through the meta million years of evolution from early signs of organisms to herds of hearing like unknown species to creatures and insects crystallized into tree wax to form into amber's .. you can see actual dinosaur bones and eggs too and find out types of fishes whose species are yet in named.. don't forget the mystery drawers of fossils. Once you have taken in all that you get to walk out of through the gift shop where if you want you can actually carry a fossilised history dating back to millions of years back home with you. .. it's really an experience.

The moving dinosaurs were a huge hit with my 3yr old. We enjoyed using the kids interteractive building blocks and the fossil rubbings. There were alot of cool fossils and so many beautiful rocks and minerals.

Best mineral display I've seen so far. Fossils were unique and rare, including some from the burgess shale and green river formation. Beautiful trilobites also. I reccomend.

Absolutely must to visit if you’re in Bathurst! Great collection of minerals and fossils, lots of educational information, and some entertainment (such as microscope and fossil rubbing pictures.

Wow what an amazing place! It has an AMAZING minerals exhibition with so much information and laid out so amazingly! Then you step through to the fossil and dinosaur exhibition and you're in for another surprise. So many fantastic fossils laid out in chronological order with so much ieasy to understand and labelled information. To top this off, a fantastic T-Rex skeleton along with a few others. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Bathurst. Or even better, get.pass for all three excellent museums here in Bathurst and see them all! Minerals and Dinosaur, Train and Mt Panorama museums..(It's actually cheaper to get a pass for all three)

An informative museum set inside an old school in Bathurst. Describes the major classes of minerals and links it to the development of fossils and Earth's geologic history. The ticket price is $15 and the detailed and informative displays are well worth an hour or so of your time.

The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum - Home of the Somerville Collection is located in the city of Bathurst in regional New South Wales Australia and was opened in July 2004. The collection is housed in a group of heritage buildings, the old 1874 public school buildings, in the centre of the city. Nearly 2000 specimens are on display from the internationally renowned Somerville Collection. There is an entry fee of $15 per adult. The main attraction for tourists and enthusiasts is the 10 ½ metre long and 4-metre high Tyrannosaurus rex (T.Rex) skeleton.

Great little museum for both the young and old. A good display of fossils and minerals. The huge display of mineral is just mind blowing, so colourful and unique in its own ways. Great way to spend an and hour out two whilst in Bathurst.

The museum is a great place for an adventure, either by yourself or with our family. They have a great history of minerals and geology throughout Australia, an excellent section of fossils and skeletons in the dinosaur section, and a very awesome and informative video on the changes of earths geological history. The gift shop is cool and has a lot of variety.

Grand 1878 home with guided & self-guided tours & events such as high tea, jazz evenings & plays.
Loved walking through this beautiful family home. So much to view and the grounds were nice to walk around, checked out the peacocks and peahens too. Furniture artworks and fireplaces were amazing. Enjoyed it for 2hrs+ Well worth the entry fee, will come back another time.

Very nice area with a vibrant house. The owner family still lives there and the people still work there as part of daily errands. So many exciting heritage and nostalgic items around the house and nice car collection.

We did the garden self-tour only, which was fine as there are plaques full of information.
Largest Scottish thistles that I have seen!
It must be very hard to maintain the original very extensive gardens without considerable funding. Gardens seem to need a more singular vision, and are in danger of becoming a mishmash of enthusiasms.
Peacocks were an unexpected highlight of this walk for me!
Siobhan Mc Inerney — Google review
Beautiful old house. Very cluttered inside feels like there is too much stuff inside not relevant to a house of that age. The owners were welcoming and are fixing the place themselves so doesn't seem to have government funding support etc. Small entry fee $15. Beautiful gardens

This place is full of amazingly gorgeous historical items from around the globe the house itself is an architectural wonder. They are always improving, renovating and restoring. Currently underway are renovations to include a cafe which will be wonderful. Also fingers crossed that the guide book with details of many of the objects will be finished soon. Looking forward to reading more about the house history and contents Christopher 😁

We visited the house during Easter holiday.
The entrance fee is $15 each and there are lots to look around.
Very beautiful garden and antiques in the house.
Highly recommended to visit!
* thanks for finding my lost wallet and sending it back to me*
COCO Sung — Google review
The house has very interesting furniture but has dead animals skins. Other then that they can be suitable for animal lovers because of a cat named Wilson, a turtle called Henry/Hank, an unnamed tabby and many, many peacocks in the garden. Perfect for history lovers too! Sometimes, you can just have a look around the garden outside. There is a church, an antique store and many more! Also, you don't need a guided tour because there is many signs of information inside and out.

I really enjoyed my morning at Abercrombie house. Seeing a part of our history still alive and housing an Aussie family was wonderful, it's like its still breathing. And the staff member was lovely and getting to talk to the family members on the day I was there was fantastic also.

A beautiful mansion built in the mid 19th century. I was fortunate to visit on the annual Scottish Day. It was fabulous with lone pipers, a pipe band, singers and dancers.
The house itself is fascinating and nearly every room was open.
I will visit again.

This magnificent estate is well worth a visit. So much to see in so many painstakingly restored rooms. From the massive ballroom to the hundreds of authentic furniture pieces and a bewildering number of fireplaces. The grounds are also a sight to behold with all the lawns, gardens, stables, blacksmith quarters and other outbuildings. Friendly and helpful staff to answer all questions on the history of the place. Highly recommend at least a three hour visit.
Al Packer — Google review
This was cool, but a bit strange.
The house and historic furnishings and trinkets were lovely, and it was interesting to look around and imagine what life would've been like. It wasn't busy at all, and we were at our leisure to wander around at our own pace without getting in anyone's way.
The number of rooms and winding staircases and windows and balconies is just beyond anything we build today.
Although the renovations have been underway for literally half a century, they seem very haphazard and even the bits that are open to the public have extension leads running everywhere, visible fire extinguishers, filyhy patched carpet etc, and no information about what the room was used for, how it would've been decorated etc.
Every flat surface in the house is crammed with mis-matched bric-a-brac with no information about what it is or how it relates to the house. E.g. a Chinese vase is shoved next to an African wood carving, next to an ancient arrowhead, with some old glass water bottles stacked nearby.
Every wall is covered with random pictures and pieces of artwork, from military scenes to yachts to nude sketches to flower tapestries to family photos. Again there is no information about their time period, where they came from, how they were acquired, or how they relate to the house.
Yet there is a full A4 page dedicated to the pet turtle, and one for the yabby as well.
The gardens are not really maintained and are just "there"; not set out with seating to sit and enjoy. You can wander among the out-buildings, but none of them are open to look at and most of them have junk stacked under the verandahs etc.
The grounds do have some interesting and detailed information about the white settlers, the building of the house, the women who occupied it during WWII etc.
Overall, it's an interesting historical experience. There is plenty to see, and the family has obviously put a lot of love and hard work into it, but it feels haphazard and directionless.
Talia Kent — Google review
Abercrombie House is a magnificent looking house. The construction is a tribute to the builders of the time, as well as those who selected the materials for the building.
As the house is now occupied, not all of the rooms are accessible, but the house is so big, and there are so many rooms to visit, that this hardly matters.
We did find that the house was overly cluttered with souvenirs and mementos from the various family's travels and there was no pattern or theme to all the items in the house. It seems to be a random collection of items from around the world. It was a little more difficult to appreciate the inside of the house, the pictures of those who have lived or connected to the various residents of the home or how the house was home to various families in the time it has stood.
It's still well worth visiting for a glimpse into the early years of life in Bathurst and surrounds. The grounds of the home are beautiful and tell the story of how the more well to do lived in the past.
Abercrombie house is about 10 minutes or so from the centre of Bathurst, hidden away from the main highways and even the local roads.
Rick Power — Google review
Great to see a part of history is still here. Happy to pay the entry fee to contribute to restoration. The house definitely needs more maintenance and cleaning. The rooms open to public needs a lot of tidying up so it wouldn't feel like it's just random stuff piled up here and there. I understand that this would require lots of hard work and not to mention $$$. Funny to see the Christmas decos in July.
Jenny Hao — Google review
A time capsule sitting on the green.
The attention to details of the building's original design is amazing. The occupants of the great mansion over the years brought culture from around the globe back into their rooms and further enriched the visiting experience.
A recommended attraction on the outskirts of Bathurst.

Went in for a tasting and they were some of the best Mediterranean reds I’ve had in a while. Their Barbera is to die for - very well balanced and smooth on the tongue. Best wine though for me was the Crossing Reserve Harriet. The atmosphere was nice and chill and the service was impressive as well. Highly recommend!

Amazing building. Perfect idea for a vineyard that's located a bit of a drive from town. Fully set up for all tasting. Amazingly accommodating, offering all 17 wines for tasting if you choose. The wines were overall exceptional. Staff were extremely helpful and could offer enough.

Wine was OK but service was so poor I was genuinely reduced to tears. The server who greeted us was incredibly rude to us when we entered and rolled her eyes at us when we asked if there were any bookings available. She then lectured us about “etiquette” despite us only asking if there were any availabilities. Did not enjoy. Would not recommended. 0/10

We loved the wine tasting at Angullong. Shayne looked after us and she is so Knowledgeable and charming (she even remembered us from months before). Make sure you book online and have plenty of time for tasting. They are so generous here and there are about 20 wines to try. I especially loved their reserve Shiraz, late harvest Riesling and Pinot Grigio (and walked away with a number of the reserve and late harvest - I still have last year's Pinot Grigio). They have all price and palate points covered, I highly recommend going to angullong.

We have been regular wine club subscribers for some time, and so when we were wedding planning we asked our venue to organise an Angullong Wines sparkling rose champagne tower for our special day. Angullong was completely accommodating to this request and were very easy for our venue to communicate with. Our guests loved the wine and polished off the champagne tower in no time at all!
P.s. in case you wanted to add a little extra theatre to the experience, the Angullong bottles can also easily be popped with a machete (under supervision :P).

You could get lost in here for hours.. so much to see and read and the collection of artefacts and information around days gone by is amazing. Well worth a visit. Kids loved the mine and the ladder climb to get out... you can really imagine what it would have been like for the early miners. Fantastic value for $10 and you would be hard pushed to find better.

Nevill Inglis — Google review
We recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unexpected surprise visit to History Hill which turned out to be a fascinating journey through Australian and Gold history, even incorporating some Chinese aspects. The museum was a treasure trove of artifacts, exhibits, displays and rooms showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The museum also had an extensive collection of gold nuggets, coins, and other artifacts, highlighting the importance of gold in shaping Australia's economy and history. The exhibits provided a fascinating insight into the lives of the prospectors and the impact that the gold rush had on the Australian landscape and economy.
The museum had several exhibits that showcased the contributions of the Chinese miners, including their innovative mining techniques and their cultural traditions. It was eye-opening to see how the Chinese culture had influenced the development of the mining industry in Australia, and how they had adapted to life in a new and unfamiliar land.
Our unexpected visit to this local museum was an unforgettable experience. I was impressed by the breadth and depth of the exhibits, and the interactive displays made the history come alive.
We highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in Australian history, mining, or just looking for a fascinating and educational day out. Although it is looking a bit tired and dated, it is well worth going! But remember TAKE CASH! $10 per adult! But absolutely worth it! Seriously though, take cash. The whole town operates on cash (or gold if you're lucky enough to find it!).

Cook Park is a Victorian-era city park that offers a variety of attractions including an aviary, Begonia glass house, and fernery. The park is well-maintained and offers free entry with plenty of parking available around its perimeter. It's a great place to spend time with family and friends, especially for children who will enjoy the fountain, pond, swing and birds. Regular events are held throughout the year in addition to the seasonal Begonia display.
Loved this garden. It has many attractions such as an aviary, Begonia glass house and a fernery. Everything was well looked after and can easily spend at least an hour strolling across the gardens. Free entry and plenty of parking around the perimeter of the garden.

I used Cook Park as the background for a cake smash and it went fantastic. The grounds are beautiful - even in winter. The grass is green, the flowers are bright. There is a playground for the older child to play on while the baby had his photos taken, and the birds in the aviary were fantastic, both kids were obsessed.
There are an abundance of picnic tables, so there's never a shortage of places to sit and enjoy the scenery, and there is parking along all sides of the block so parking is a breeze.

first time I found this park when I'm driving around Orange. it's quite a big for a park with a lot of huge trees. when you have a closer look to the tree, it has a box of description about the tree. apparently some of them is USA origin.
It has aviary park, contain sleepy cockatoos (I really hope they can sleep well 🥺), and some other small colourful birds.
It has female and male toilet. on the way there you can see a water fountain with statue in the middle, some boys pouring water. and there is drinkable water fountain next to it (just a friendly reminder, don't drink from the statue) 😇.

Cook Park truly is a gem in the heart of town. It's amazing how a space so tranquil and peaceful can exist in the midst of all the hustle and bustle.
I particularly enjoyed learning about the history of the park while exploring the different sections, such as the Bagonia greenhouses. It's always fascinating to discover the stories behind these types of public spaces and to see how they have evolved over time.
The park is flat and easy to navigate for people with limited mobility or disabilities.
The stunning old trees are a highlight of the park and add so much character to the space. It's amazing to think about how long they have been there and how much history they have witnessed.
Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to Cook Park to anyone looking for a serene and informative outdoor experience. It's a great place to escape from the chaos of everyday life and connect with nature and history at the same time.

Very nice place to visit on a Sunday afternoon. I love the amount of trees and the shade they provide. Plenty of chairs and open space for play or to relax. A nice rose garden and a free bird enclosure there as well. Pkenty of duck ponds if you would like to feed the ducks and ducklings. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful medium sized park, with lots to see (much preferred than botanic gardens). Autumn colours drifting into winter browns.
Aviary (talking cockatoos, budgerigars, cockatiels, galahs) - seem happy enough for caged birds (cockatoo eager to hole punch a finger). Fernery and Conservatory (full of flowering Begonias) were shut, but could still look in the windows. Guild craft shop lovely to visit (especially if you like slices and jams / chutnies). Trees are magnificent. Roses wilting for winter.

When we visited the botanical gardens in Orange, we were initially surprised by the abundance of evergreen trees instead of the traditional autumn colours we had expected. However, we quickly realized that the lush greenery was just as beautiful.
One unexpected surprise was the number of fruit trees in the garden. We were delighted to see a variety of fruit trees throughout the gardens. It was a unique and enjoyable experience that we didn't expect to find in a botanical garden.
The garden's dog-friendly policy was also a plus, and we enjoyed seeing other people walking their pets. The park was peaceful and serene, and we appreciated the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while.
Overall, while the botanical gardens in Orange may not have had the traditional autumn colours we were expecting, we found the lush greenery and abundance of fruit trees to be a wonderful surprise. It's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for a peaceful place to take a walk, especially if you're a dog owner.

More like a huge park than a botanic garden with mainly Australian flora
Autumn would be the best time to go, as I'm sure the colours would be vibrant
Great place to relax and read

What a beautiful botanic gardens! We didn't have time to see it all, but I loved the thoughtful collections. I especially loved the rosacea collection, the apple and pear orchard with windmill and the weeping elm. I look forward to seeing more next time. Plenty of spots to sit and enjoy. Bathroom facilities and cafe nearby. Looking forward to visiting again.

Fast to get to and plenty of parking.
Not crowed out.
Swimming was great. Water was refreshing but not cold.
Swim platforms are anchored a short distance off the beaches.
There is clean sand and grass perfect for picnics.
A kiosk is available for coffee, cold drinks, snacks and ice creams.
The dam is perfect for swimming with the ducks.

Was so nice to find this lake. A little beach area on both sides of the lake. Everyone was there swimming, paddle boarding. Great walking area over the bridge and to the other side of the lake. Also a tea house was there. Had a good variety of choices of food and snacks.

This is a beautiful and relaxing place to go, whether it be to just sit and enjoy the scenery or going for a casual stroll on the well maintained walking track around the lake. If you want you can go for a swim or take in a bit of fishing.

Perfectly amazing! 🥰 Being the person who loves nature I should say it's a beautiful place to stay especially when you're upset or wants to recollect. A good place to relieve stress. Thanks to the one who brought me here for the first time 😊💕

Beautiful lake. When we visited it started raining so could not finish the walk. I saw people enjoyong BBQ and swim in the lake. Great play area for kids too.
Nice main cellar door within a rustic looking shed with good heating.
Great outdoor areas with sand pit and farm animals for kids to entertain themselves.
Cheese plate was good, might have been elevated a notch further with some truffle honey 🍯 accompanying zucchini pickles and fresh tomato relish from Franklin Road Preserves were used - fantastic. 👍
Easy booking on their website. Allowed “purchase” of tickets for non-drinkers (eg pregnant or designated drivers).

Really warm and inviting cellar door experience. Was pleased that Zac accommodated us at short notice. Good amount of seating inside and out. We had a table outside so glad they had the open fire pits going to keep us warm. Tasting was $15 a head for 6 wines which is on the pricier end. Very good wines although not my preferred in the region. Kids had a great time in the petting zoo and sand pit. Happy with the complimentary Tesla charging stations too.

Great wine tasting experience. Served by three legends Chris , Chewy and Lauren, made us feel so welcome, explained everything so well and were very patient with our questions:D , such excellent service.
Heifer’s Pinot Gris and Merlot were the winners for us.
Kids loved the animals at the farm. Highly recommended, especially if kids are accompanying you. You can enjoy wine tasting while kids are busy with lovely animals at the farm. 5 starts , will be back whenever visiting orange.

We had a lovely time with our family in the winery. Kids are allowed in the winery as they have a petting farm, sand pit for kids to enjoy while their parents taste the wine. 15$ each for wine tasting and the staffs were really good.
Divya P — Google review
Absolutely loved the rustic farm vibe of this winery, and it was very welcoming to the kids. It's the perfect place to get out with the family, for a relaxing afternoon with delicious wine and cheese platters. All while sending the kids off to run around, play in the sandpit or pat the animals. Their range of preserved goods is also fantastic, I highly recommend buying a jar of their Zucchini Pickles.
Its also extremely picturesque, so make sure to take some snaps!

Beautiful place to visit! We did a wine tasting while the kids had a mini lunch and got to see all the animals that are there. The atmosphere is relaxed and the grounds are amazingly kept, with some beautiful wines to try!

A beautiful must visit winery.
If you have children this place is a winner!
Farm animals for the kids to see, outdoor sandpit and games, plenty of room for them to run around while you enjoy a cheese platter and wine (and they even do kids platters!)
The best

We had an amazing experience doing a wine tasting with chewy as our host. He was super friendly and down for a chat to explain the local history of the area and vineyard. We were there on a rainy day and the vibe was very cosy and relaxing. The cheeseboard was also delicious! We’d recommend everyone put this as a stop on their tour if exploring different wineries in orange

Dom kindly let me through without a booking. Wines are nice, loads of seating with a sandpit / play area for kids. The draw card are the animals 100%

Friends recommended Heifer as must visit winery and we can see why. Very Instagrammable with friendly service, superb wines and even a farmyard animals, there was something for everyone. They even convinced me to give Chardonnay another go and I am a convert. It even came with EV chargers suitable for a Tesla or BYD which made our friends very happy to charge up whilst wine tasting 🍷

We shared a great wine tasting experience in the rustic building with the service and knowledge provided to be acceptable.
You’re best to visit whilst there’s no rain to ensure you can experience outdoor paddocks with the farm animals.

Heifer Station Wines in Orange is a delightful, family-friendly winery. It offers a wonderful setting for children to enjoy, allowing adults to savor a cheese platter and wine tasting in peace. The winery offers a diverse selection that even a novice can appreciate, highlighting the clear distinction between stainless steel and classic oak barrel wines. Accessibility is a highlight, catering to both wheelchair users and prams, with areas both indoors and outdoors. This place is highly recommended for a pleasurable visit!

Love every minute of this wine tasting experience. The wine makers were experienced and thoughtful when addressing her audience and was very generous in suggesting other avenues to explore. We had a wonderful time and will be back.
This is a family friendly place with a little petting zoo and some fun old school games to play!
Good times!!

A truly beautiful and cosy wine tasting experience. This cellar door was full of charm as was Chewy our wine tasting host. Stopping in towards the end of a day with a friend we were warmly met. The wines themselves were also poured with pizzaz and charm. We loved the cheese board so much we ended ordering a second. Thanks team for a truly beautiful destination to sample your story in a glass in great surroundings.

We were a group of six who enjoyed a very informative and fun filled afternoon …. loved the wine tasting experience and the cheese platter which was a big hit. Nice facilities including a welcoming fire place …. a very interesting winery with expansive grounds to explore. Had a lot of laughs with “hanson” “Chewy” …. a likeable and friendly lad, a bit cheeky with a good sense of humour who certainly knew his wines. A visit is highly recommended.
Hey Chewy …. Sharon thinks you’d be great on Farmer Wants A Wife 🤣
Not far from town. What a lovely place. There’s a variety of honey to taste before buying. Lots of varieties to choose from and there’s choc honey comb chocolate for sale as well. Small cafe in the front which sells honey flavoured ice creams. Car park available on site. Highly recommended.

This was a great surprise as I have never seen such a comprehensive display of honey related items. From the different pollen flavoured honeys, to therapeutics, to wines they have it all. It was also nice to be able to talk with the knowledgeable staff about the produce and their obvious passion for their products.

We were driving from dubbo back to Sydney and did a stop at honey haven. The store is beautifully presented and the lady was very friendly giving us a taste of all the honey. We got the banana flavored honey which we thought would go well with pancakes. The shoo also sells honey ice cream $5, has putt putt golf for the kids, coffee cakes and even honey wines. Heaps of chutney, sauces, oils, honey gifts,

Just 4-5 minutes out of town. Amazing array of honey products, not just for eating. Skin care exfoliator and moisturiser makes my skin softer than a baby's. Honey mead is not my cup of tea but must be good, the old boy bought 3 bottles of it. Small cafe for lunch or morning tea. Worth a look

Gorgeous selection of honeys and honey-related products: candles, mead, cosmetics; bee-themed tea towels, aprons and canvas bags and so on. Also a coffee shop offering good, sturdy coffee and various baked goods.

Great shop with so many products related to honey and bees wax. There’s a central honey tasting area, a sample of lotions and scrubs, and a cafe that sells honey flavoured ice creams which were delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful, always asking if you need any help. They’re quite funny too even when having problems with the credit card machines. Made for a nice little shopping trip.

I really like this place, you can taste different types of honey in here. They also offer wines and non-alcoholic drinks made from honey which are awesome! They sell souvenirs, skin cares from honey. One thing you must try is their honey ice cream! But the ice cream has egg ingredients so be careful if you are allergic to eggs.

Beautifully rustic with a vine draped balcony area, clustered outdoor garden seating on lush grass and a relaxed atmosphere. Platter board or easy to eat pizzas. The Rose was delicious. Perfect for a slow afternoon with your partner or a group of friends. Ample car parking on site.

Great wine and great food. We shared an antipasto platter that was made up from local produce. The 2 best wines for us were the Moscato and the Merlot. The wine tasting is a must and leads you through the history of the vineyard and what was behind the names of the wines. Great afternoon in the sun and thoroughly recommend.

Wasn’t the most personable experience unfortunately. Busy Easter weekend so I understood staff were stretched but the person servicing us was a bit short and forgot one of our tastings so we left without it. Beautiful setting however and we enjoyed the tasting platter

Being a wedding photographer and working at Burnbrae often, I knew I needed to get married here!
We chose Burnbrae, Not just because of their incredible wine and beer but because of the versatility. We really envisioned a wedding that was fully outside under the fairy lights and they didn’t disappoint! The fact that it also has an amazing wet weather option really made our decision final.
Dotty and the Burnbrae team were amazing to work with and made our wedding so much fun.
Nothing was ever an issue for Dotty and she was so helpful in every aspect of our day.
She literally made our wedding dreams come to life. All of our guests are still talking about how good the day was. We are so glad to have booked Burnbrae and it will always have a special place in our hearts.
Thank you so much to Dotty and the Burnbrae team. – Steph & Tom

Thanks so much for a really enjoyable morning!

My husband and I just had our wedding reception at Burnbrae and it was simply amazing. The venue, the staff, the finishing touches on everything - it was everything we could have dreamed up, and so much more. We also have had many of our guests sending us messages raving about the space and the wine. Thank you Dotty!!! You are the best event manager in the world!

We had a very nice visit, the staff were great to chat with, they explained everything and answered all our questions. We made a decent purchase of wine and they looked after us on price which was nice to see in these tough financial times post Covid. We have had many previous visits there to purchase the wines and our experience is always excellent. We can recommend this place, the staff support and their beautiful selection of excellent wines.

First time to Burnbrae yesterday.
We met with Loz who poured and put up with our jokes and Andy who was a wealth of information and good humour , both of which were super friendly and knowledgeable .
We were offered a really lovely selection to sample of both wine and beer and had few good laughs as well . We ended up walking away with a few bottles not even on the tasting menu yet which we will enjoy when we get back to Sydney.
Thanks guys !!

Went to Bunbrae Estate over the Easter weekend and they were just over booked. They ran out of the ingredients for the food, were handing out Greek yogurt buckets as ice buckets as they hand run out and had very long queues to the single male and female toilets. Nice winery but they need to reinvest in their facilities if they really want to service customers.

Wedding of our dreams!!
We can't recommend highly enough having your wedding at Burnbrae.
We knew from the moment we got engaged that we wanted to book a venue in Mudgee that "felt like home", as though we were hosting everyone in the comfort and welcome of our own backyard and that is exactly the atmosphere that Dottie, Trine and everyone at Burnbrae gave us from the start.
Our guests haven't stopped raving about how happy the day was, and that is was "so us", which was executed due to the kindness and effort Burnbrae puts into executing the day how you envision it, with the utmost authenticity.
Thank you all, we look forward to popping in many more times to come to keep enjoying the delicious wines and good atmosphere!

One of Mudgee’s finest and coziest wineries. Dotty is the perfect host and makes for such a welcoming experience. Not to mention great tasting platters and wines.
Beautiful organic winery set out a little bit from town with knowledgeable staff (the wine maker took us through our tasting). I really enjoyed the organic Chardonnay, the Muscat, the Shiraz and especially the block 10 organic Shiraz. A little quieter than the other wineries north of Mudgee (but that a good thing).

Fantastic organic winery. All 3 chardonay's enjoyed by all 4 of us. The wine maker was very informative and extremely accommodating. Thurston, the Jack Russell enjoyed the company again after covid isolation and has a collection of scarfs. Look for heart vine weaving

I'll be the first to admit that I'm generally apprehensive about "organic & vegan friendly" wines. However, as this has been my second visit to Thistle Hill... No preservatives usually just means it won't be set aside for the cellar and you'll probably have to finish the bottle the same day it's been opened. Never a problem at our house. James has been an awesome ambassador of the vineyard and their products. Seeing him twice in a row has been great.
A little hidden gem. Surprised that it wasn't well mapped out on Google maps. The entrance to the gardens is before the point set out on Google maps. Once you go in, it's mostly a self guided tour. Great place to go in and enjoy the serenity. Any SUV would be ideal to drive around the gardens. We drove around in our Camry, and it was a little tricky. The fern gardens were great! Would recommend
Lillian James — Google review
Great garden. We were the only ones there and while we only went to the Fern Gully route (due to time constraints), it's a great relaxing place and we would definitely come another time when we visit the area again and can spend more time here. Also saw a group of kangaroos speed past us while we were in the Fern Gully section.

I love this man made rainforest
Hopefully this place will be wheelchair friendly one day.
But new signage will replace old. The manager and staff are working hard every day to improve conditions.

This garden has an amazing collection of native species. Many are rare and many are very beautiful. The garden seems to be making a strong recovery after the drought two years ago. This season has seen lots of new growth. If you love plants this is worth a trip.

Great for people interested in plants, but also really good for bird watchers. Fern gully is a great spot for kids. Huge range of plants from around Australia. Keep an eye out for echidnas, kangaroos and emus.
Very interesting tour for all ages. Our tour guide Bec was lovely and catered the tour for old and young adventurers alike. There are also other activities besides the tours that are accessible for free including a bush walk with marked fossil sites and an information centre. An excellent day trip

Unable to prebook tickets. I arrived just before it opened and somehow it was booked out until 10:30am. We decided to wait around but unfortunately it wasn't worth the wait. The tour guide was amazing though. He was genuinely passionate about his job, loved sharing all his knowledge of the caves and was great with all the kids on the tour (even the bratty ones).

Good beginner caves for kids. Not super impressive if you’ve been to many caves before, but staff is really well trained to entertain and engage with the public and it made the experience really memorable. For only 1 cave, I thought the price was a bit high, though.

Our family joined the Cathedral Tour and it was perfect. From the moment we were arrived, we were greeted with friendly staff at the counter. Try to arrive earlier to check out the free exhibition in the centre.
We joined the last tour at 3.30pm on 28/12 and the guide, Bec (I think that's her name) was brilliant!! She shared so much information and plenty of Q&A.
Plenty of stairs to climb but it was broken down in sections so you won't feel too tired. So many fascinating sights and facts. Again, credit to the tour guide for her excellent story telling.
Definitely a must do attraction in this area.

Not great access for disabled. Over 100 steps after walking up a steep incline before being able to go to caves. I understand that they are caves and it is understandable that people with walking difficulty should forget it. There is a nice Japanese walk next to the centre and we enjoyed that. The staff in the centre were very friendly and we had coffees and 1 blueberry muffin between us! My sister in law’s idea as we don’t need the calories but the bit I had was delicious.

You need to book during school holidays. I only rated this 1 ⭐️ so this I for would come up.
The museum is small but has a great interactive video work and a great megafauna skeleton.
They also have a great free self guided fossil walk which is flat about 800m loop. 20 to 40 mins
Thirdly they have a Japanese garden which is free and good for 20min look around or a picnic (no picnic tables)

Great caving experience, with 2 caves to choose from, tours leave at different times and are limited to certain numbers of people, so best to check online for tour times before attending.
