I went here a lot bcause it's about 15 minutes away from my grandmother's house. It's a very nice and clean beach, a lot of accommodation such as bench, toilet, food stalls. Even tho the sand kinda rough n have many shells, so I suggested not to walk in barefoot on the beach😂 on the day I went, it was cool and strong wind starting around 7pm along with light rain. The food price are also very reasonable. There is no menu or sign food so there were some of traditional food that for me it's a first time to see. The food stall owners are so considerate in helping explaining foods.

Worth a stop if you have the time. Nice beach and water. Not many locals here swimming , so please be careful of the waves. There is a good Warung selling cheap n reasonable local nasi dishes. Just that it doesn’t have a proper signboard or name.

Air Terjun Sekayu Waterfall

Waterfalls
One of the nearer to Kuala Terengganu waterfalls. Very well planned estate although most of the chalets are too old. Hve to park outside the estate gate and pay RM2 to enter ( kids pay RM1). A very rustic and back to nature experience. The distance from the gate to the waterfall is about 1km but it may not be advisable to at where the actual waterfall is to swim or soak. The warning sign reads certain parts of the water basin is as deep as 7m and the the water velocity is quite great. An alternative place to soak the cold clear water would be where the old hanging bridge is near, some mid distance from the waterfall. Will certainly want to return!
buck low — Google review
Visiting this waterfall was one of the best experiences in my life! Honestly would recommend everyone to try it.
It is so relaxing to be so close to untouched nature.
It is so jaw dropping to see such a big beautiful waterfall in real life. Subhanallah!
It is sooo fun to swim in the streams, stand under the waterfall and get a back massage from the falling water and really fun to jump from the rocks. This is a life experience I would really recommend.

Pavilion housing an ancient granite stele with Islamic inscriptions in the Malay language.
1. Far from city.
2. Worth it if u like to know more about the history of Batu Bersurat
3. As a point for u to stop along the way to Terengganu
Aus Zain — Google review
The stone inscription is a significant historical artifact that gives us a glimpse of the past. The inscriptions on the stone are fascinating and tell a story about the spread of Islam in the region. It's like a tangible piece of history right in front of your eyes.
The memorial itself is well-maintained and the surrounding park area is serene and peaceful, making it a great place to relax and contemplate. The information boards are also very informative, providing context to the stone and its inscriptions.
The staff there ( bro Joe) are friendly and knowledgeable, ready to answer any questions you might have.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend a visit to the Kuala Berang Stone Inscription Memorial. It's not just a piece of stone, it's a piece of history, and it's worth taking the time to appreciate it.

Masjid Terapung Kuala Ibai is a serene and pristine mosque that appears to float on the waters of Kuala Ibai Lagoon. Its stunning white architecture with domes can be accessed via bridges, adding to its allure. The entrance has security guards in place, and the facility is well-maintained with clear labeling and signage throughout. Women's prayer areas are located downstairs and upstairs with cleaned telekungs available for use.
It always gives me a sense of tranquility to visit this mosque which is built over the Kuala Ibai Lagoon. Best of all, the mosque is kept extraordinarily clean and kudos to the management of the mosque!

Really old mosque, so called the first floating mosque... Met a very nice n friendly pakcik that bring us around the mosque n show us the inside (we see it from the outside) even thou we are not properly dress... They do have a Aircon prayer hall thou... Could just sit outside the mosque to "appreciate" the "peacefulness... Actually do not need to visit the "inside" ...
KiM BooN LeE — Google review
This beautiful floating mosque situated along the East Coast Federal Route 3, serves as an enchanting photo spot. Adjacent to the beach, there is a park where visitors can enjoy an even better view of the mosque. During my visit (school holiday), many people were picnicking at the park, creating a lively atmosphere.
Upon closer inspection, I noticed some dirty marks on the white facade of the mosque. However, from a distance, the mosque still retains its beauty and charm. It serves as a picturesque landmark that adds to the overall charm of the area.

A beautiful and majestic mosque built on the edge of a lake. The surrounding area is serene and peaceful . Opposite the mosque is a wide beautiful lagoon for leisure, recreation activities and picnic for the local residents and visitors.
Ty lee — Google review
The mosque is also known as the "floating mosque" of Kuala Ibai. The bright white structure contrasts with the dark waters of a lake which surrounds the mosque. When the waters are calm, a mirror image of the mosque forms under the actual mosque. It isn't often that you can see that happening. To enter the mosque, you can walk across one of two bridges that connect it to the mainland. The mosque is located within a park by the Ibai River estuary.
nazif JT — Google review
Very, very serene place. I sat from a far across the lake near maghrib and i get why there are people who sit bawa foldable chairs/ picnic kecil-kecilan. Area across the lake very well mantained. Mcm nak live there pun ada. Especially when call to prayer, masa azan maghrib. Sunset dia sangat cantik.
Liyana S — Google review
With the concept of floating mosque, the view is just majestic. although the mosque do not allow any non muslim to go inside, view from the outside is more than enough. Lake surrounding the mosque is artificial, but still it is beautiful lake. You can but RM 1 fish food since there many fish in the lake waiting for food. There are also a nice park nearby when you can picnic too

1010, Jalan Batu Buruk, 20400 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia
Pantai Batu Buruk is a popular beach destination that offers activities such as kite flying and horseback riding, along with local food stalls. This clean and well-kept three-kilometer stretch of beach is ideal for jogging in the morning or afternoon, although it can get crowded on weekends. The friendly crowd adds to the atmosphere of this picturesque location which also boasts some Instagram-worthy spots. Visitors can enjoy the excellent sea breeze while purchasing kites and bubble toys from vendors on site.

Seems like local people don't swim in this part of the ocean. Many drown. Just read the news, a man ( tourist ) died there, got swept off by the strong current. Stay vigilant. Also consult with the locals if it's advisable to be in certain areas as signboards are not always placed where they're supposed to be.
But there are fun activities at the beach and places to makan², so if you're going there enjoy the views, fly kites, go horse riding, eat some yummy food.
Just DON'T GO FOR A SWIM.

Seeking for a peaceful mind? There you are. Sad to see that there were many litters thrown all over the beach. 🙁

Pantai Batu Buruk has been synonymously regarded as one of the most prominent beaches in Terengganu, even appearing in the famous hit song, Blues Ganu Kita sung by Allahyarham Saleem. A place bustling with hawkers and street vendors, Pantai Batu Buruk is a good place for relaxing and recreation. Families can come here to enjoy the sea breeze and play kites with their children, and the youths can hang out with their friends and take pictures. Despite being a famous local attraction, the beach is quite unkempt; driftwood and trash are abundant and these items ruin the good image of the beach. Hopefully the authorities will take care of this problem soon.
Muhamad Nurlutfi — Google review
Batu Buruk Beach is famous for its white sand and casuarina trees that grow abundantly along the beach. It became a mandatory destination when I returned to my hometown. By looking at the waves and the comfortable atmosphere it can bring back the memories of my childhood.

Bukit Puteri, also known as Princess Hill, is a popular tourist spot in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Situated along the Terengganu River, it provides stunning panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. Is this place permanently closed to the public? I always wanted to see this place especially because of its historical background and the local's legends but unfortunately ever since i learnt about its existence (which is also recently during the national's Covid 19 PKP) it has been closed down. Ive been to KT before but since I traveled with public transport, it was hard to go around the City from the budget hotel i stayed because taxis and local town public buses were hardly around unless youre near to the bus terminal (no taxi will stop if you hailed from the roadside). Hopefully during my next trip, the City already has the Grab service for tourists' easy access to many interesting places.

Bukit Puteri or Princess Hill, is located just a few steps opposite of Central Market (Pasar Payang). This 173 year-old 200m hill only came to known when the Sultan Baginda Omar turned it into a defensive fortress in 1831 during his reign period. To perform the function of a protective fortress, a few units of cannon and a bell was placed. The bell served as an ‘alarm’ whenever there are enemies were detected. It was also the residence for the Sultan during the early days of his ruling.
Today stairs are properly built for people to climb to the top. Most of the cannon had taken back by the Siam during the period when they ruled Terengganu in 1843-1845. Remaining there are a flagpole, a few left over cannons, a bell and a lighthouse. The bell, however, is still performing its function but no more to alert the existence of enemies instead a breaking fast reminder during the fasting month.
Best time to visit the fort in the morning or evening time when temperature is not too extreme. From the platform at the top, you can see fishing boat coming back home after a hard day. To the other side, you have a panoramic view of Kuala Terengganu.
Palie Massa — Google review

The waterfront Tian Hou, 1800s Buddhist temples, eateries serving stir-fries and red lanterns add to the classic China ambience of the place. I wish I can give it more stars than this but I think someone either the council, tourism board should put a hand into upkeeping this stretch of road. The walkways are almost impossible to walk on. The old architecture of the buildings here are worth keeping for the coming generations. It's actually quite as beautiful as those in Melaka and Ipoh. The alleyways are almost all being done up and fascinating. Wall murals, educational and cultural information. It's really a good day out for families and tourists. A handful of cafes and kopitiams... Enough to quench your thirst and hunger pangs.

Pasar Payang, also known as Pasar Besar Kedai Payang, is a bustling central market located on the banks of the Terengganu River in Kuala Terengganu. There's a saying 'shop till you drop'. Got some beautiful batiks for ourselves and headed on to other outlets. An eye catching place indeed but we did not stay for long due to the crowds thou strictly with SOP....

A big shopping place for shoppers. There are more than 200 small stores with few sections.. Batik section, Dried food section, wet food section, toys/soft toys section, food court and many more!
The good thing is you can bargain up to 20% of the total price. If you don't agree with the price, just say thank you, smile and walk from the store.
Make sure you remember the store name collection because all stores have the same store design. They also have a food court facing the sea. Warm & calm.. There are tonnes of food for you to try. Dont forget to try their noodle soup. One of the best in Kuala Terengganu.
Overall, worth the experience. The tendency for you to shop till you drop is very high!
Dont forget, come after 9am coz most ofbthe stalls open around that timing
======
Memang terbaik. Boleh jadik pening if datang sini. Rasa semua nak beli. Makanan dia.. Batik dia.. Mwmang terbaik.kualiti. Ngam dengan harga.

Market conditions are quite crowded due to the holiday season. There is not enough parking to accommodate the arrival of tourists from the state. The price of the sale items is quite moderate and some sellers are kind enough to offer low prices or give a little extra on the purchase.

Great place to shop for batik, souvenirs, or local delicacies. The food at the food stall, which was located at the back of the market, was average, and you could find better options elsewhere. However, the sellers were polite, friendly, and accommodating.
My family and I bought bekpang (rice crispies), kuih gulung (love letters), cashews, and some other tidbits, after our nasi dagang breakfast. We also got a pair of clothing sets as souvenirs for our family members. Alhamdulillah.

Visited during a rainy day. But still loads of tourist and visitors. They are divided into a wet section and dry section.
Alot of kuih, kerepok and sweets on sale.
Row after row of clothes, batik clothes and shirts. Quite repetetive as all stores are selling the same things.
Theres a small row towards the toilets where we stumbled upon a few vendors selling rokok daun (rolled tobacco).

This place got a lot of foods (please give a try to terengganu's traditional food😉) , clothes, souvenirs and others. You might love this place if you're a shopping maniac🤭

A must visit place when you are traveling to Terengganu. The wide path way becomes narrow just because the vendor put all their stuff in front & outside the outlet. This causes the difficulty of visitor movement & jammed. So many things are sold here such as souvenirs, clothing & traditional food. Busy during school holidays.

Pasar Payang in Kuala Terengganu is located by the Terengganu River. It opens daily from as early as 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The new Pasar Payang which is more comfortable and spacious is expected to be open later this year.
The market houses hundreds of shops selling traditional handicrafts such as batik, silk, songket, handmade crafts, as well as fresh produce.
Your visits to Kuala Terengganu are not completed without shopping at Pasar Payang.

Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin, Kampung Tanjung Kapur, 20200 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia
Masjid Kristal, a magnificent mosque situated on the manmade island of Wan Man in Terengganu's Islamic Heritage Park, is a popular tourist destination. The opulent structure is made of steel, glass and crystal and boasts an enormous chandelier. Unfortunately, it is currently closed for repairs or construction until April. Despite this setback, there are plenty of other attractions to explore in the area.
One of Terengganu 'killer', a must visit place all time! Place is awesome, well maintained, clean, and importantly still beautiful even at day or night! At day got many visitors, can try to visit at night which is less visitors come.
We come on December 2022, maintenance was done at that area. Thumbs up!

A beautiful mosque that stands majestically by the river . It is popular for the local Muslim residents and visitors to come and pray. The surrounding area is vast and peaceful. There are some stalls selling drinks and food near the car park. Good place to visit and admire the beautiful mosque and rest at the nearby park along the riverside.

Wonderful display of unique architecture. The mosque has a reflective surface making it glitter in the day and beautifully lit at night. Right on the water and offers a spot to take photos. You can enter the mosque too for a full cultural experience.

Good tourist attraction. Nothing much to see other than the Mosque which is beautiful in its own way. Some eateries outside to cater for your hunger needs. There are horses and scooters for rent or ride as well. It's not made of crystal the only part of the Mosque that is crystal is the part of the pillar near to the peak. The rest are glass.

We could only took pictures from the outside... The river that it "float" on really need some cleaning even the "park" outside it need a really bad "clean up" ...

As you embark on a ferry journey to Redang Island, you will be fortunate enough to witness this stunning masterpiece once again, this time from the serene view of the river.

So beautiful place specially the lighting is so decoratively attractive... Kids enjoyed a lot... Lovely place.... Plenty of parking available

It was once a glory place to visit. Today we make our way here. We took both , river cruise and the outdoor park of Taman Tamadun Islam.
Not many visitors, to be precised we were the only visitors at that time. Walking around with not many people around and with the monumens looking shabby and the surrounding not well kept, it gives us a creep sensation. Determining ourselves to finish the tour, we did it in 1 hour. Some of , the monuments were not worth while to be photographed, sorry to say.
River cruise is quite informative with Hadi as the tour guide. Crystal clear voice explaining everything along the way, a good tour guide indeed. However the scenery is not so welcoming, since its just after flood so the river is yellowish mud colour.
I do hope they will really put an effort to maintain if not to upgrade the Taman Tamadun Islam since its a brilliant idea to bring all the well known mosque to us.

Pretty sad actually. They have the vision and mission to be an excellent park yet their dream seem to be vanished and abandon the most crucial part which is - maintaining the facility. This massive park has everything to be success. The location, the attractions, the volume of visitors coming in. To be fair, it definitely needs a boost on redefine the purpose of this magnificent park. Work on maintaining is a must. Put more effort on this. Several sites seem dismal and out of place. Top attractions but neglected the jewel itself.

But the landscapes are beautiful though.

Interesting replica of the Islamic Architecture around the world. Historical facts and information is what you can expect besides the long walk and interaction as well as photography.
There's tram service which cost around RM6. The entrance fee is RM20 for adult and RM15 for kid. Excluding Rive Cruise.
Parking is quite spacious. In the end there's souvenir shop which also sells food and drinks.
Shaik Nazirrudin — Google review
Honestly, this place is good to visit but from my observation there are a lot of things to improve in terms of maintainable & house keeping. Most of the replicas are neglected, landscaping & show rooms do not maintain well. It is really inconsistent with what I paid. Sad but i got to be true. Maybe this place was affected badly by the long COVID-19 period. I hope the management will look into it soon & this place will be a great place again.

Basic Ticket for foreigners is 15 RM per head, you can buy mini-train ticket or book a ride for buggy inside starting from 8 RM for person. Pulau Wan Man Losong PanglimaPerang, 21000 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia
The Terengganu State Museum is an impressive museum complex that showcases the history of Malaysia through traditional house-inspired architecture. The main building offers a range of cultural attractions, but visitors may enjoy exploring the individual cultural houses on electric bikes to make the trip less tiring. Each house features unique handmade souvenirs and exhibits that provide informative insights into Malaysian history.
The main building offers a wide variety of attractions on Terengganu’s culture. However, I enjoyed going to the cultural houses more. I would suggest you to rent an electric bike, making the trip to each houses more fun and not as tiring. The houses were pretty far located to one another. A lot of pretty handmade souvenirs were sold within the houses exhibition compound.

The best museum I've visited in Malaysia. The main building is peak Malay architecture and is a joy to look at. The exhibition rooms are air-conditioned and extremely well maintained. Exhibitions range from weapons to royal family heirlooms, and history of their craft work. Highly recommend visiting if you're around.

A good place to start if you are interested in the arts and culture of Terengganu. The impressive museum complex houses a large collection of items that are interesting for historical buffs. However, there is some maintenance work being carried out while I was there. So, some parts of the museum are not open. For just RM5 per visitor with free parking, it is worth the trip. Furthermore, you can continue to the Islamic Civilisation Park to fill the day later.

Beautiful building. Feel like we are entering the old Malay palace. This place is huge. Cheap entrance ticket. Yet to improve at some part of this place like lighting to fix, some house keeping works to be done, & yet i still gave this place 4 stars because i like the building design. Also we can see there is one area like a culture village with an entrance ticket too. Overall this is a good place to visit.

I visited this museum after more than two decades. The museum offers excellent explanations of its antique and historical items, making it a worthwhile visit with my daughter. The crowd was average since I went on a weekday during a school holiday. The ticket prices are reasonable, with adults at RM5, children over 7 years old at RM2, and free admission for children below 7 years old. Foreign tourists have a different pricing structure.

superbly worth the RM5/adult ticket. Location is huge ! Easily 1-1.5hrs within the building. There’s a lot to read if you really do go to each section for it.
Else just by walking around, is plenty enough. There are some section still under renovation. So to be expected the museum tour to cut short slightly !

A majestic building. Magnificent architecture will be an understatement. However the content of the museum doesn't do the justice to this monument. Poorly taken care of. A lot of sections were closed down. Poor lighting and not disabled people and senior citizens friendly. There are elevators but I don't think they r functioning. Unfriendly staff. I do love the Dapor Mok Kite exhibition. Very creative and refreshing to see and learn the history of local delicacies. I would give a 10/10 to this beautiful museum but only 3/10 for the contents. They need to do more to attract people. The ticket is cheap only RM 5, but that doesn't make it okay to have below par performance. All in all, worth a visit to witness such beautiful place it's just that the authorities must play the role la.

The tickets were very affordable and by the time we came, they told us to hurry if we want to watch the elephants bathing. According to their schedules it started at 2pm and it will end at 2.30pm. We were lucky we got to watch it. But if u miss it there will be another elephant bathing session at 4pm. Before coming here, be sure to check their information. Take note of the schedules. Value for money. Affordable for a family trip. Good and clean facilities. But be advised to use baby carry instead of a stroller because there's a lot of steps.
Hafiz Hardy — Google review
Canopy walk by itself has made the ticket prices worth the RM25.00 (adult) & RM12.00 (children). Nature at its best! Can see lots of hardwood e.g. meranti, cengal, merbau etc & also abundance of palas (licuala palm) along/under the canopy walk (approx. 1KM in length & approx. 100m in height). There were 17 elephants on 01 March 2023, but we only saw 12 (other 5 were kept in their huts/enclosure).
Please note that this place is 10x better than a zoo as the elephants are roaming freely most of the time (with their mahouts, none were using sticks or the sharp goad, didn't see mahouts whacking/beating the elephants). When we were there, only 1 young bull was chained to the tree because his mahout was on leave. Other elephants were walking freely, taking bath in the river, being fed etc.
You'll see lots of negative comments about this place by righteous Mat Sallehs in Trip Advisor. Mostly saying the elephants are under duress, stressed up, being chained, beaten up etc. Well, they know the 'best' as they have plenty of 'happy' elephants in their zoos 🤭
Worth the visit, suitable for children, will definitely visit again!

Located in Terengganu, Kenyir Lake became one of the most magnificent tourist spots in Terengganu as well as in Malaysia. Kenyir luxurious forest is located in the district of Hulu Terengganu, which lies at a longitude of 102 degree 40 minutes and 4 degree and 40 minutes in latitude. It is believed that the rain forest is the world oldest tropical rainforest. The forest also serves as a part of Malaysia National Park.
Tasik Kenyir (Lake Kenyir) in Terengganu is the largest man-made lake in the country. According to Tourism Malaysia, it spans 209,199ha. It was formed from 1978 to 1985 by damming the Kenyir River. The valleys and plains behind the dam filled up with water and the hilltops and uplands remained to form islands, some 340 of them. River fish soon adapted to their new environment and today this freshwater lake has become a challenging spot for anglers to try their skill.

We organised a snorkeling trip for a family of 4 adults a child and a toddler. The trip was the highlight of our holiday we had an amazing afternoon snorkeling around Redang island, we swam with sharks, turtles and snorkeled inside a cave and shipwreck. Jo was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional, he even went in the water with us to show us sharks as we couldn't spot them. He snorkeled with us inside cave. He really went above and beyond to make our snorkelling experience very special. My brother also dived with Jo on two occasions and he really enjoyed it. We would highly recommend his services. I stayed at Taaras for 7N/8D. During my journey, meeting Zan was the best thing ever! I’m a retired PADI diving instructor and this time, because of pregnancy, I could not dive but, my husband dived with Zan. He is very professional and has a heart of gold who you can trust totally.
My husband also dived with taaras several times diving but they didn’t go out further than northern Redang island where they are based in. Frankly saving, most hot dive spot of Redang is southern part where Zan took my husband to dive with very reasonable price. Zan runs his dive shop in Redang as a 1st and only one Redang local. he knows everybody and the island. I fully support his dive center and will comeback and definitely dive with him next time!

A 207, Kampung Baru, Pulau Redang, 21090 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia
Redang Island, located in the Terengganu Marine Park, is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. This stunning island offers white-sand beaches and is renowned for its biodiversity conservation efforts. The best time to visit is between April and October when visitors can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, diving, and island hopping. As one of the largest islands in Terengganu, Redang Island attracts both locals and tourists with its crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life.
Absolutely beautiful, with snorkeling & diving exp. Bring your gears & gopro so you won't miss the beautiful scenes.
A bit far from KL, i took a bus to get there & arrived early morning ~ 6am, but well-worth the trip.
They have 1-day tour for a quick visit
But can absolutely stay longer - 3D2N if you love the beaches & marine life.
Set no expectation & mother nature will revert to you 🌈🌈
Pls bring your own bottles & protect the environment 😢

Location of accommodation is very important. We stayed at the Redang jetty and there was a lack of any restaurant/bars nearby. There is one road to the other side of the island with a beautiful beach but nothing else there. Long beach is a great place to stay but when we tried to get a water taxi there none of them would give us a good price and said we needed to rent an entire boat for 600RM even though we were just 2 people. Island is not necessarily ready for backpackers.

Beautiful sea, crystal clear water. little shark Thousands of coral reefs and big turtles that are worth a visit this time. It is an island that offers privacy. For friends who like privacy I recommend you to come here. I can give it here. Both beautiful pictures Both water exercises as well. And here they have a restaurant to sit and chill for us as well. For anyone who wants to come and relax here I recommend that you have to come.

Pulau Redang is situated off the coast of Terengganu, in the South China Sea, Malaysia. One of the largest island in the east coast measuring 7km× 6km.
It is about 18nautical mile of Merang jetty. Merang jetty is about 40km from Kuala Terengganu. There is also boat service from Shahbandar Jetty, Kuala Terengganu. The distance from Shahbandar jetty to P.Redang is 32 nautical mile. There is also domestic flight from Kuala Lumpur to this Island.
This Island has been a
popular destination for diving, snorkelling and other beach activities in the sandy beaches and crystel clear waters. Pulau Redang, is also gazetted and protected as Marine Parks.
There are more than 10 Dive centers and more than 20 dive site here.(2 ship wreck)
The sea here offers you with diversity of fishes like Bumphead parrotfish, barracudas, jacks, snappers, napolean wrasse, fusilier, turtles and black tip shark.
You can also find soft and hard coral, sponges, whips ,
sea fans and nudibranch.
Some of the beaches here
▪︎Taaras Beach (best beach on Island)
▪︎Long Beach
▪︎Teluk Dalam Beach (besar and kecil)
▪︎ Mutiara Beach
This island has been too commercialised and always crowded during weekend and public holiday.
The coral reefs in Pulau Redang are rapidly declining due to climate change and
local human activities.

This COULD be a beautiful, restful, relaxing island but they have ruined it! There is trash EVERYWHERE. It's not up to American standards or European standards at all. The smells from their public restrooms are nauseating and there is a constant smell and pillows of smoke from trash being burned directing behind the different resorts. The sand is soft but littered with lighters, bags, cigarette butts and bottles. It's not worth your hard earned money!

Redang Island for me is in Top 10 list best & beautiful & must visit island in Malaysia. It takes around 1 hour 30minutes maybe from Kuala Besut Jetty to Redang Island. From Marang Jetty to Redang Island only takes 30 minutes. Redang Marine Park not only offers crystal clear water but an amazing view of the sea and the hills. The island is located just 15 minutes away from Laguna Redang Island Resort by boat and it is highly recommended to visit.
Redang Marine Park is an ideal place for snorkeling with many colorful fishes and corals to explore. There will be snorkeling equipment available for rent and visitors are allowed to feed the bread to the fish.
The speedboat ride to the Marine Park was very relaxing and enjoyable as the surroundings offers beautiful views.

A very systematic and organised hotel that could accommodate large crowd without a mess. Registration process was smooth and efficient.
Room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Only basic stuffs were provided. Foods were served in quantity, not quality, enough to fill your tummy.
Snorkelling trip was safe as few life guards followed along and using big boats. However, the snorkelling spot under package was not interesting. Coral was not nice and nothing much to see.
This resort is very suitable for family vacation where you plan to bring elderly and kids for snorkelling. Overall,it is still a nice and cozy hotel.

Very nice scenery. The best part is watching sea turtle. It is very nice because the sea turtle have their own freedom. They are swimming freely in the ocean not animal in the cage. I think watching see turtle is the hilite of the trip. I feel really happy to see that.

Lang Tengah Turtle Watch (LTTW) was my first time volunteering on a turtle conservation project and it was memorable. From the moment you arrive to Turtle Bay and then walk into the stunning camp this is an experience I will never forget. The camp is basic jungle living but I knew this already and what I was expecting, and it allows to you move away from modern life and get back to nature and really 'live' in your surroundings. There were pristine warm waters all around with beautiful corals and marine life, a lovely beach and lots of places to explore.
Throughout my two weeks here I learnt a lot about turtle conservation as well as many others aspects of marine conservation and wildlife. Turtles came to nest on the beach regularly throughout my stay and to see these amazing creatures in the wild was a humbling experience and gave a great sense of satisfaction that a project like this is working and really helping. We also had nest hatchings in my time, watching as hundreds of baby turtles made their way to the sea and start their life.
Patrolling at night to ensure poachers are kept away and to look for turtles landing on the beaches was tiring but totally worth it for the reasons mentioned above. I had two weeks of learning new things, getting a better understanding of conservation work, seeing some incredible natural sites and living/working with a great bunch of staff and other volunteers in an environment and camp that takes you back to nature and reminds you of all the good things in this world. I would recommend this to anyone!!!

Volunteering in my own country! Dear fellow Malaysians, worry not because this place is really amazing for you to volunteer with!
"Life changing! My first volunteering experience with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch at Lang Tengah Island is absolutely rewarding and fruitful. The days are always filled in with chilling activities like snorkelling, jungle trekking, beach cleaning to adventurous journey like cliff jump! There are no rooms for boredom here in the camp because free time mean reading a book with a cup of coffee, sunbathing on peaceful beach or simply just do nothing and enjoy the serenity of Lang Tengah Island.
Sounds tempting? I have not told you yet, that you’ll be part of the projects and get hands on experience in turtle conservation and coral restoration. I am blessed to spot a green sea turtle with another volunteer, Lina during our night patrols and named her “Sarah-Guo”. We had the chance to watch her lay eggs and relocate the eggs to our nesting beach site, Turtle Bay. Besides, I also had the chance to get involve in coral nursery projects both by snorkelling and diving with the amazing research team.
Special gratitude to Jordan, LTTW camp manager who was always there guiding me and watch me grow from a lifejacket swimmer to free swimmer and to a diver! I am deeply appreciated to the LTTW team and fellow volunteers for being so helpful and cheerful all the time, making such great progress to the conservation projects on this island!"

In search for an escape, I found myself volunteering with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made.
I would have never imagined myself learning how to cook in the middle of a jungle, but it was fun experimenting and cooking up meals for everyone with the other volunteers. While learning about our coral reefs, I also had the chance to dive to help with coral conservation efforts by cleaning coral nurseries and building coral castles in efforts to restore the reefs around the island.
The highlight of the trip, is definitely the turtles. I became a mini turtle expert in a matter of days, from picking up facts about these magnificent creatures, seeing them upclose as they dragged themselves to shore, catching the eggs as the mother laid them, then reallocating the eggs to Turtle Bay. 6 nests in 2 weeks was just such a surreal experience!
It ain’t just about the work, but also lotsa fun, with at least one snorkel a day around the island. We learned about reef fishes, which helped us in identifying fishes during our snorkels. All of this, in the beautiful island of Lang Tengah, where you get clear waters with amazing visibility.
The past 14 days has been so fulfilling and enriching, and it went way beyond my expectations. No doubt, it’s definitely one of the best things I’ve done in my lifetime! Thank you Jordan, Seb, Gilles and Alex for an amazing experience. Two weeks went by pretty quick, but I’ll be back again to see some hatchlings next!

If you are considering volunteering here, definitely do it!! The people are amazing and the work they do is so important. You will spend the days snorkelling, playing games, going on hikes and going cliff jumping. We would have a big family style dinner then at night we would patrol the nesting beaches and learn about the turtles and hatchlings. Amazing experience, would love to come back sometime!!

Lang Tengah is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen . From the moment I stepped off the boat on to Turtle Bay I didn't stop smiling all week. The turtle watch team are so passionate on the work they do making sure that each individual has the best time they can while on the island . The volunteer program I would recommend to anyone helping to be part of the team saving the turtles from extinction is such a life changing experience.
I will definitely be returning to Lang Tengah Turtle Watch in the future.

If you are looking for a volunteering project where you actually get to see results, Lange Tenga Turtle Watch is outstanding. Living in the jungle while only a few steps away from a paradise beach, you really do have it all. What a fantastic experience we had learning and contributing towards something so worth while - coral restoration and turtle conservation. You don’t need to look any further, you’ll enjoy this experience for sure.

Great trips and professionals at work. The dives are relaxed and they take time o help you around. I would recommend the divesides on the outer ring of the island over the once at the canal, but in the canal there is more microbes to see. Overall good dives and a very pleasant diveschool, the instructors know what they do and take it seriously.
Special shout out to Stefen! If you dive with him please during your safety stop do the game: rock paper siccors. He loves that ❤️

The most relaxed, easy going, service minded and helpful people work at this place. They live for your experience and will do everything in their power to accomodate you. They are well equipped and well organised. We got our PADI here (My 12 year old daughter and I). They had all the materials in our native tongue and the practicalities were expertly (and very safely) taught and explained by our diving instructor Jay (see picture) who has an angel's patience and much flair and a sense of humour, a trait all of the people working there seem to share. If you care for a dive or get your PADI on Perhentian Islands, I would DEFINITELY recommend these guys!! I really hope to meet up with them again. They made the stay on Perhentian magical!

We booked this place because we had a accomodation next door (Suhaila Palace) and it has a good rating on Google. We did 5 dives in 3 days. The first impression of this dive shop is reliable and professional. The staff is really professional, very friendly and fun! Thanks Akmal, Arman, Jay, Gabby and the rest of the wonderful staff such as the captain (sorry forgot the names). The equipment is good and looks/feels well maintained. We saw sharks, big turtles, moray eels, groupers, snappers and many many more! I will come back for sure!

I was fortunate enough to get one on one instruction from Gabby, who really calmed all the nerves I had and made me feel so safe underwater. Leaving them at the end of the week was a little heartbreaking! The instructors know the dive sites really well and are able to find all sorts of different fish and animals. We saw so many different types of fish, as well as plenty of turtles, sharks and sting rays! Diving with them was a wonderful experience.

My daughter and I did lots of fun dives as well as my advanced open water qualification with Universal divers. I can’t stress how amazing they are. They are polite, patient and kind. They keep dive group sizes to small numbers so you get individual attention. We dived with every instructor and they were all lovely; we felt safe and informed the whole time. Anyone visiting the Perhentian islands needs to book some dives with Universal Divers. Big thanks to Steven who was great with my daughter, who needed to do a refresher and was a little nervous. Pulau Perhentian Besar, 22300 Besut, Terengganu, Malaysia
Turtle Beach, located in Pulau Perhentian Besar, is a serene and picturesque spot where visitors can potentially catch a glimpse of turtles. The beach offers crystal-clear blue waters and soft white sand, making it an ideal location for swimming and snorkeling. While the surrounding area may lack coral reefs, snorkeling near the rocks on the right side of the beach provides opportunities to observe various marine life such as fish, stingrays, and even baby sharks.
Wow wow wow. This is such a secluded and beautiful beach. It is the perfect setting for a beautiful picture, and is sooo secluded that it feels like a private beach.

Really pleasant spot for chill. There is also a chance to see the turtle, however it’s not very easy. I’ve seen 2 turtles and it was absolutely great! The surrounding is not particularly interesting - there aren’t any corals around, only some sort of sea grass, which is eaten by the turtles. I would recommend Mimie’s shop to book a trip to the turtle beach. They know how to find a turtle. Overall, great experience!

The best beach in Pulau Perhentian Besar. We have the beach fto ourselves for a while. The sea is blue and crystal clear. I did snorkel and I could see a different kind of fishs, even a Napoleon wrasse. Also there are some small sharks and rays. The sand is so small and feels perfect if you only want to swim. The best hour for pictures is between 11 to 15, as the sun makes the water look more turquoise.

The Perhentian Islands in Malaysia are a marine paradise, perfect for snorkeling and diving. With vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine species, it offers an unforgettable experience. The islands consist of a big and small island with crystal-clear waters and soft sand, making it the best place to get some vitamin sea. The best time to visit is from mid-March to the end of September. It's recommended to bring your own alcoholic drinks as they are hard to find on the islands.

I can’t say enough magical things about this island. The fact that you have to take a bus and ferry here makes it feel remote in all the best ways. I spent a week on Long Beach at Oh La La and for a whole month spent in Malaysia, Perhentian’s was the absolute highlight.

Best place to get vitamin sea. There are 2 islands in this place, one is big and one is small. Both island also with crystal clear water and soft sand.
The best time to visit the island is around mid of march until the end of September. Also, it's hard to get alcoholic drinks at the island, you need to prepare and bring yourself to the island. Besides, If you need a better night life, i recommend to stay at the small island, The big island doesn't have much night life and entertainment.
Things you can do at the island.
-Climb the small island hill and visit the wind mill point
-Have fun with Water sport
-Scuba diving
-Snorkeling and island hopping
-Enjoy local food
-Watch the Fire show (night time)
-watch sunrise and sunset
Last and most important, please bring more cash because not all places accept e-banking or e-wallets as the payment.
Terengganu, what an incredibly gorgeous country that is overflowing with breathtaking beaches and picturesque islands.
The 2D1N trip to Perhentian Island was truly a remarkable experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tropical getaway. From the Jetty, it only takes about half an hour to reach the island. However, if you want to avoid the crowds, I suggest planning your trip during the weekdays.
The island is an oasis of natural beauty, with crystal clear waters, lush vegetation, and coconut palms everywhere you look. The atmosphere is truly tropical. Perhentian Island has something for everyone.
Snorkeling is a must-do activity, and I highly recommend bringing some food and mineral water with you on the boat to stay hydrated during your time in the water. The marine life is abundant, and the fish are sociable. Unfortunately, we didn't have any luck with the turtles during our visit, but I'm sure we will have better luck next time.
If you're on a tight budget...fear not! You can still have an unforgettable experience on this island without breaking the bank. Try buying some food or snacks on the mainland before you go, or consider staying in Kampung Nelayan, where prices are more manageable (or camping!)
I can't wait to plan another trip to this island, and I'm sure you won't regret adding it to your own bucket list.. So pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and prepare to be transported to a place of true natural beauty and wonder
.

One of the nice beaches to go to.
You can either take the bus or plane. When we went, we took the bus going (around 7hours), then ferry to the island and then plane back to KL.
We went to the big island, no parties at night (not sure if due to COVID). They said that the parties are in the small island.
A lot of tours are also available there.

Very clean beach, but too many boat anchors to avoid when walking along the shoreline and swimming. Sadly, coral reef near the rocks around the perimeter of the bay is 98 percent destroyed and gone. Plenty of colorful marine life fishes to enjoy while snorkeling.

Wonderful experience as you get to have most soft sand and a slow slope so that you can walk into the ocean for waist high water and see lots of fishes around. This beach is the best place to be at night as you get to have multiple options for dinner and have a stomach full of yummiest food !
Make sure to visit this place as you can get a good bargain for the island hopping tours too !

The beach is relatively calm and soothing. You can easily stroll around the beach for hours. However it is less happening and bustling compared to my last visit. Perhaps it’s due to Ramadan month currently hence no local performances around in the evening at the long beach. Some eateries are not operating as well.
The boat master recommends us to visit coral bay instead as more performances and activities are running and being organised there which is about 20 minutes walk from the jetty. Perhaps we could venture there one evening.
Plenty of scuba diving and snorkelling options available so do give them a visit and make sure you’ve deal a fair price before signing up as the pricing differs a lot in between them. Keep a watch out for those who charges additional fee for equipment rental as we nearly fall into that. I mean come on. We are taking a package for snorkelling and diving and how is that possibly not wanting the equipments along and requiring additional payment. Make sure to ask about what’s included and what is not.
You can easily sign up for one around the island generally or the day before and do take note of their departure times. Snorkelling day trip around RM70 (4hours) generally excluding lunch and basic diving for first timer ranges around RM190-250 (3.5 hours)
A return Ferry transfers trip to the Perhentian Kecil from Besut ferry terminal costs RM35.
And do bring cash as not many accept cards or local digital wallets.
Have fun and enjoy the serenity at the beach! Will definitely be back to this lovely island.

And to top it off, a stunning fireworks display at night would make the experience even more magical. It would indeed be a wonderful place to visit and create unforgettable memories!

Our lodge is located in Kampung Nelayan, so we took a water taxi here. This is the most well-known portion of the island, and it is quite amazing. You are welcome to eat outside and take in the breathtaking view of the sea while being accompanied by the refreshing wind of the ocean and the sight of coconut palms all around.
Because we visited during the weekdays, the place was much less busy. Hiking windmill and watching a firshow are just two of the activities you may do in while in the area. Although the fireshow is not as extensive as you may have anticipated, it will nevertheless keep you entertained throughout the night. It was fun.

If you love nature and looking for a great sea view of Perhentian Island, this is must visit place. 20 minute easy hike up the hill bring you to a very nice view area. But too bad the place is not well maintained (as at 1 Feb 2022). Please watch your step while walking along the stairs.

This is my first ever diving trip and had my 3days open water training with Matahari Divers at Perhentian Kecil.
I wanted to thanks my love, B for introducing me to the Diving World and let me got the chance to explore myself to this beautiful underwater world with Matahari Divers. I’d really enjoyed this diving trip to the max. 3 days definitely not enough for me. Really had fun with them, special thanks to my instructor, Rizal who taught me every useful skills during the training, I felt safe and comfortable while diving with him, he is a caring instructor and also an experienced & fun diving buddy.👍🏻
I am sure I will come again to dive with them or taking my Advanced course later or sooner. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

I highly recommend Matahari for the PADI Open Water! 990 in around 3 days:
- Great energy, thanks to the experienced and easy going instructors, shout out to the Bestest Nicole and Wise Aslam (3k+ dives)!
- Clean premises and diving gears, easily accessible from Long Beach
- Newbie friendly and welcoming, thanks to the amazing receptionist Damien who did a great job at introducing Matahari.
Overall unique diving experience, but not
only:
- The staff is part of the Fire show on the island (they are the cool kids!) and made sure to include the students to the party!
- Jeng, who is in charge of Matahari, was literally born on the island and is highly knowledgeable about pretty much everything that you could need, from medicinal plants, to private island hoping or money exchange!
You won't regret spending time with the Matahari family! (Plus they provide amazing t-shirts upon completion of the PADI)

Got my open water diving license with Matahari. This is my first official diving lesson and despite that I don’t really have a lot of reference to compared to. Yet I wanted to say that I had the most wonderful diving experience with Matahari. I dived with instructor Rizal, who was very willing to share his knowledge and experiences, his assistant Rais who make sure our equipments are all good to go and last but not least hawk-eyed boatman Nain. It was a memorable diving experience and turned me into an addict. So whether you’re taking a license or doing fun dive, recommended to go with them.

Excelent place for diving courses and fun diving. We did PADI Open Water. The instructor made the whole learning process effective, easy and fun. All the staff working in this dive center were kind, friendly and always ready to help. Their prices are really competitive.

Myself and my partner completed the Open Water and Advanced Open Water PADI courses with Matahari and had the most amazing experience.
Shelby and Adam were really quick to respond to us and made booking the course very easy. They were both really welcoming to us and do a fantastic job running the dive shop.
We had two fantastic instructors in Rais and Saho. Both of them were really friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They made sure we understood all the concepts and could perform the required skills. They made all of our dives lots of fun and showed us beautiful reefs, cool wrecks, and plenty of interesting marine life. You couldn’t ask for two better instructors.
I also have to mention Mat Jeng who runs the guesthouse. He’s one of the nicest people you could hope to meet and made us delicious pancakes for breakfast each morning.
For anyone considering coming to the Perhentian Islands to dive, Matahari should be top of their list. From start to finish, everything was brilliant. Thanks guys. We hope to be back in the future.

I took my PADI Open Water here 2 years ago and ever since I've been coming back here every year! I was treated like their family from the very first day I step foot in the dive shop right until today! Professional instructors and Divemasters and also the owner Jaeng are well knowledgeable about the scuba diving world!

My boys for the 1st time breathe underwater and it was really amazing how kids could adapt easily to such environment. We were assisted by professionals and fortunate enough to have Kak Nur as an Instructor for the DSD. With strict confidence in her, handling the boys was a breeze. It was a truly amazing experience for them and I am sure the journey has just began. Well recommended if you wanna do DSD and fun dives. Super friendly team & professionals in Coral Bay, Perhentian Kechil. Keep-it-up👌

It was an awesome experience. Super competent diving instructors. I am super sad, that I couldn‘t stay longer and learn more! (Miki, Sue and Nick were awesome (I hope i wrote the names right 😂))
Prices are also very reasonable! And Perhentian is a paradise not only for diving but in general!

We have been diving with Anti Gravity Divers for the past week and it has been a great experience. My three children have done the Open Water course. I would like to highlight the professionalism and friendliness of their instructors, but above all the responsibility for safety during the course and the dives we do. All the equipment was new and gave you a lot of security. I am sure we will come back to dive with them one day. Thank you very much to Anand, Azman, Joy and Susi.

Went there 3 weeks ago with my buddy and had an 8-day fun dive straight with Anti gravity. Did not regret at all to have chosen them over the many shops.
The website is clean and easy to navigate. Their Facebook is with educational content on top of the fun/sales stuff. That was one of reasons I contacted them.
The contact with Sue for booking is smooth, efficient and fun.
The place is designed so nature/space-lover-friendly.
All the people there are professional, friendly, helpful. Probably not only by everyone's nature but also the owner has done a great job in organizing and leading the team. (I also happen to have witnessed procedure refreshers conducted for all crews during my stay).
The dives were of great experiences thanks to not only the consideration of the dive sites (since we are there for quite some time) but also to all crews who helped when we went out diving and came back, and of course to all the guides. - A special thanks to Joy who we dived the most with.
Thank you Anti Gravity team, for everything you helped us with, for all great experiences you brought us

I did my Open Water here. I stayed a few more days for a couple of fun dives.
Joy was my instructor. He's both professional and cheerful, so I had a good time learning the OW with him. The whole team has a good mood, making it a fun place to be around.
Whether you're looking for training or fun dives, I can recommend Anti Gravity Divers.

Amazing experience diving with Anti Gravity Divers, highly recommend!
My wife and I did four fun dives with them and our friend did the same plus a refresher.
We planned it all over email and WhatsApp before arriving to the island.
They offered free pickup and drop off to our accommodation at the beginning / end of the day which was much appreciated.
Everything seemed very well organised and professional. They gave each of us a dive computer for free (the first time we have experienced this in SE Asia). Special shout-out to Anna for her really thorough dive briefings - they made me feel 100% safe and confident and meant we could enjoy each dive to the max as we knew what to expect and look out for. Nico was also very helpful.
The dive sites they took us to were all great and very varied. We especially enjoyed the San Choi wreck dive - the sheer number of fish was staggering!

I had a great time diving with Anna, Mikele, Kieran and Sue.
They're a fantastic and friendly team who really care about the happiness of their divers.
The dives themselves are great value, and the team were really flexible with me changing my dive dates constantly due to food poisoning!

Up the water is your heaven but under the water is fish heaven. Respect nature.
Diving with Anti Gravity Divers team was a great experience. I was a little worried taking my 3 kids for first time dive but AGD, Anand gave me a great confidence and showed me the best way by engaging friendly Joy as our instructor. Wonder how many Diving center will have this kind of support. My three kids and I did Open Water course successfully. As others mentioned, Joy is a nice strict instructor with great patience. I would like to highlight the professionalism and friendliness of Joy as an instructor. Talking about equipment, we were a little worried on the cleanliness and even brought our own mouth piece. But it was a waste because AGD maintains good cleanliness and most of it was quite new. I will definitely come come back to dive with them one day. Hope AGD can also do some free services by taking a few underwater photos for 1st time divers on a complimentary basis. We stayed at Ombak, nice place and a very expensive. You can also check out Senja Bay, our next Hotel facing the sea. Food you can eat at Ewans 50m, very cheapo and nice compared to the ones at the coral beach. Food at Long Beach also nice and reasonable. Thank you very much to Anand & Joy. Nur who came last day of us also seems to be a another friendly Instructor. She is fierce but extremely friendly.

Went there for my Open Water. We got Sue as our instructor. Amazing amazing instructor. She’s one not to give up on her students, so be assured that you’re gonna survive and dive no matter what 😆. Above all, safety always comes first.
The space itself and the equipments are clean and well maintained. The other dive masters, Joy and Mikele are amazing and friendly too. Same goes to the director and the boatman.
Will definitely recommend Anti Gravity if you are looking to do your OPW course ✨✨

My partner and I have had an amazing few days diving with these guys! Such a lovely dive family and chilled out atmosphere. Mikele was our dive instructor for 4 of our fun dives - we couldn’t ask for anyone better. She is very passionate about diving and very good at spotting marine life (especially smaller creatures like Nudibranch).
The equipment was very good and well looked after. Nice open space to get ready for a dive.
We booked with ease through emailing Sue, she was very flexible with our plans and offered good advice for our trip.
Thanks to the whole team at Anti Gravity Divers! We will be back some day :)

Great diving school! The dive masters & instructors are kind, welcoming, patient and above all skilled and professional. The standard is high, this goes for the gear (they even give divers without their own dive computer one to borrow for free to increase safety!) the briefings and the debriefing of dives. I did 6 fun dives and even a night dive with them, awesome! Would definitely recommend (start) diving with them!

Returned to this dive shop where I got my open water and advanced cert five years earlier and still loved it! All the instructors and dive masters I’ve dove with have been very knowledgeable and helpful, explaining everything when I have questions or any uncertainty. Also, there are just so many beautiful places to dive on Perhentian!

If you’re looking for a dive centre in Perhentian, look no further. Anti Gravity is one of the best dive centres we’ve ever been to. Our son just turned 10 so we gifted him the junior open water certification for his birthday. We were meant to choose another dive centre nearer to our accommodation but didn’t feel any good vibes with them so we tried anti gravity out and have zero regrets! They are very professional, patient and fun and it’s a perfect place if you want your child to start their diving journey at. Mikki was my sons dive instructor and she’s just gem of a person. My son loved every bit of learning from her and she’s just unbelievably patient with kids. Everyone at the dive centre was amazing as well, a special shout out as well to Sue, Anna and Joy for the incredible experience we had. Not to forget the boat guy as well (we forgot his name) but everyone in this centre was PERFECT! Thank you so much guys! We will definitely be back.

Absolutely mind blown how amazing getting my open water at Turtle Bay is.
Staff were super friendly and had such a wholesome family vibe. The people you meet are all having the same goal of exploring the marine life. The marine life was lively and stunning. Hands down the most life changing experience.
Big shoutout to Azwan for being a patient, informative and fun instructor throughout the course. The skills may get a little overwhelming but you are very safe in his hands - literally the best. We had the pleasure to do a fun dive with Yaakub as well - a very relaxed, reassuring and chill dive at the Pinnacle.
The people and diving left such a great impression on us, we are already thinking about doing our Advance soon!
To those who are debating where to do your course, Turtle Bay has been operating for many years and have super professional instructors. Their social media may not be as active, but they are very much extremely busy. Highly recommend!

Had a lot of fun diving with the team at Turtle Bay Divers. They are based on Long Beach, Perhentian Kecil. I did 4 dives with them, including a night dive. We dived in small groups, with ratio of 1-4 divers per guide. I was travelling solo, but everyone was so friendly and I didn't feel lonely at all.
For this dive trip, I had a very specific goal in mind - to practise deploying SMB. I mentioned this during the first dive briefing and everyone was very supportive and helped me to achieve my goal. They were all very patient when I messed up, dropped my spool and did all sorts of funny things. Thank you eveyone!

We had an awesome experience at Turtle Bay Divers doing our OW course! Edwin was super helpful and supportive answering questions leading up to and during the trip.
Azwan, the instructor for our course, was extremely patient and professional with a great sense of humor. He helped us through any issues we had during the dives, was an amazing teacher and made us feel comfortable and safe.
I had issues with my ears and equalising. Azwan made sure we descended as slow as I needed each dive which really helped. The team at Turtle Bay Divers also showed support and provided advice on how to address my ear issues.
All round the place feels very welcoming and has a relaxed atmosphere. It feels like a family, and the whole team knows your face and name.
We definitely recommend Turtle Bay Divers!
Thanks again to the team for such a wonderful experience!

Took Open Water Diver Course with them last week.
Before taking the course, comprehensive information including schedule, fees, accommodation, boat transfer and so on was provided. It made me feel comfortable and hence decided to go for it.
In overall, everyone I met there was super friendly. I can feel the positive vibes the moment I met them. Great people, clean and comfortable place, excellent course, transparent pricing and more. I was comfortable with the team and felt safe with them, so I decided to take additional dive with them after the course.
Special thanks to Sue, Yaakub, and Joey. Sue was assigned as my instructor and she was exceptionally great. Big kudos to her! Yaakub and Joes were the dive masters for the following dives. They were professional and fun to dive with. Thank you for everything.

We sussed out 5 dive centres on Long Beach and decided on Turtle Bays for our OWC. Why? Because the people there. They were so much better than the other 4 dive centres.
They spoke fantastic English, took time getting to know us, weren’t pushy, had humour, banter and great personalities. And so glad we did our OWC here as it was the highlight of our Malaysian trip and will forever have a special place in our hearts.

We looked at a few dive shops up and down long beach and it was an instant decision as Turtle bay divers made and instant impression on me and my partner. Very attentive, very friendly, professional and had a sense of humour, (it was a no given decision to do our dive with them.)
We originally just wanted to experience diving with discovery scuba, we continued to complete our scuba diver certification and finally upgraded to our open water PADI; the team didn’t force us or were pushy to sell or upgrade us and let us make our our decisions when we were ready, Which I really appreciated.
I was anxious to dive to such depths, but left feeling super confident and wanted to dive deeper. ;)
Our dive instructor Aniq, was amazing, highly experienced , professional and still made us laugh during our course and I always felt comfortable in his presence in and out of the water.
Yakob,(the owner) is so humble, hilarious and gave us all the time in the world, he really made us feel comfortable.
We also did a fun dive with Nick & Azri , once again couldn’t fault them,
They too deserve heaps of credit, for their professionalism, experience and left us with best memory of The pinnacle ( temple of the sea ) dive sight ( which I highly recommend.)
When I think of Turtle bay divers I think instantly of family, you can tell the team really looks after each other and it’s guests, I’ll always remember and cherish the memory of completing my Dive padi with this crew!
Can’t thank them all enough!

We had a fantastic time diving with Turtle Bay doing our AOW! They're based on Perhentian Kecil's Long Beach which has tonnes of great restaurants. Yaakub was our instructor who was very patient and helpful; he explained everything thoroughly before our dives. The dive centre is great, with all the equipment you need to borrow, and everyone is very friendly. We did five dives on the AOW and then an additional three fun dives, one of which you get for free after completing the AOW. All of the dive locations are amazing, no more than 20mins by boat; we saw turtles, sharks, moray eels, rays, cuttlefish and lots of different fish which Yaakub helped us identify after the dives, plus there are a couple of great wrecks which have incredible schools of fish and other marine life. I recommend diving at the Pinnacle (Temple of the Sea). Like other dive centres in the Perhentians, the dives are really well-priced, and we felt super safe diving with Turtle Bay. Although we stayed at Ombak Resort in Coral Bay, there was an easy 10min path to reach the dive centre, and they were easily reachable via WhatsApp. If you're planning a dive trip, the Perhentians are very easy to reach by a short flight to Kota Bharu (from KL, Penang etc.), from where Turtle Bay can organise the bus and boat transfer for you which is what we did. The water is crystal clear, there are so many stunning beaches on both Kecil and Besar and loads of places to rent SUPs, kayaks etc. and Turtle Bay lets you use snorkel gear for free. I highly recommend diving with Turtle Bay, whether you're diving for the first time, doing a course or just fun diving!

Ombak dive resort is a wonderful place to spend a nice vacation. The girls present at the reception are always kind and smiling and ready to satisfy any need and solve any problems. We had a room on the second floor, equipped with every comfort, we found it spotless, air conditioning, fan, hairdryer, coffee set, toiletries and scented towels. In the evening in their restaurant they show a children's film as entertainment first and then films for all ages! The breakfast is international with a station for freshly made eggs of all kinds. We made use of their diving. What can I say, the Ombak pleasantly surprised me and I will recommend it to everyone! a plus is certainly also the proximity to the pier for returning to the mainland.

Rooms are well equipped with aircon and hot shower, reception staff are lovely and so helpful. Included breakfast is varied and nice enough. We didn't use the dive school so can't comment on that. Food in the restaurant was pretty good, the only thing I'd change is they have a movie night in the restaurant every night from 7.30, which stopped us eating dinner there because you couldn't really chat. Maybe they could make the movie night a bit later.

I had the best time here at Ombak Dive Resort. The place is incredible. Located at Coral Bay, nice and quiet place. If the sky is clear can see the sunset. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. No issue with water and electrical supply. The foods which included in the package were okay. On my last night, I decided to order from the menu and the food was delicious! If you want to go to the Long Beach, it takes about 10 mins walk through the forest to reach there. The wifi connection was a bit slow but hey, are you here to enjoy the island or playing internet inside your room? 😂 Go out and explore! But if you really need to use the internet, you can just go to the cafe and have a drink or meal there. The wifi is faster at the cafe. Anyway, I had a lovely time here. Highly recommended for everyone 👍🏼

I stayed 10 nights there.
The place itself deserves more than just two but reasons why I gave it two stars only
- diving center changed their price and had hidden (tax fees) and weren’t helpful nor truly friendly.
- receptionist and manager were nice to us and tried to help us but it wasn’t enough. The staff were rude must of the time.
-breakfast was pretty boring and basic we had to ask to change it.
- the restaurant was expensive and wasn’t that good quality even. They use annoying loud music at breakfast you can’t even sit there.
All in all our room was clean and tidy but sometimes we needed to inform the staff to clean everything as sometimes they happen to forget cleaning the bathroom or add shampoo.
Tareeq Deebs — Google review
The dive centre is wonderful and the staff there are first-class; can’t fault them at all and would recommend anybody uses them for their diving licence.
However, it’s the restaurant staff that knock this rating down. The service was really poor, you have to try so hard to get their attention (even when you go to the counter yourself) and even then it felt quite dismissive. They give you such short time slots to use your food vouchers in the package you buy that there’s a good chance you’ll miss a meal when diving; I tried to order my breakfast one morning and he said “sorry, you’ll have to come back in 2 minutes”, which was so pedantic. I asked the person behind the bar whether they sold beer or not, he said they didn’t, which wasn’t a problem at all, that’s common in Malaysia. That was until two girls the next day asked for the same and were promptly served two cans of beer. I guess if they don’t like the look of you they won’t serve you alcohol. The food is OK.
Otherwise, the room was decent enough and the location is great.

The Ombak Dive Resort on Perhentian Kecil offers good accommodation, very friendly and supportive staff and a full-service diving experience. Our room (Superior) was equipped with a bath room (hot water), a fridge, air-condition, fan, hair dryer, a large television, mosquito repellent device and mosquito net for the bed. Outside of the room you find hangers to dry your clothes and water to clean your feet from sand. The beach at the hotel is very nice and has calm water. There is a path from the resort to long beach, where you find additional restaurants and shops. For breakfast, lunch and dinner we visited the Ombak Café, which also offers a few vegetarian options. The diving center offers many options and if you want to snorkel or do free diving you can also borrow equipment here. I can fully recommend this diving resort to everyone who wants to enjoy a nice island and the fish and corals under water.

The rooms and the location of the hotel are quite good. The staff of the reception is friendly. However, the restaurant is a real disaster !!! First you have to wait 45 minutes to get attention because they’re talking with each other. Once you ordered you have to wait 1 hour to get a disgusting cold plate ! During the breakfast, they even served us old bread with a spoon of scrambled eggs. Everything we tried at the restaurant was not good at all. Even a simple orange juice was difficult to get ! The only stars you will see are on the screen of the projector 📽️ (this was a nice plus btw)

A truly magical holiday with Ombak Divers. Farah the receptionist is so easy to deal with and will handle any requests you have. We wanted a clean room with a working shower and air-conditioning. We got it all and Farah even got someone to carry our luggage to the dock when our trip was over! She knew we were tired and made sure we were well taken care of.
The food was great,a little pricey but the ingredients were fresh and the cook did a good job so, well worth it. We were provided breakfast for 3 days which was fantastic! There was a good assortment of food to choose from and there was even someone who'd fry your eggs anyway you like them. My gf absolutely loved the pancakes and cheese omelettes! Electricity cuts out once a day and comes back on in less than a minute. Wifi is good and there's room cleaning provided.
Last but certainly not least is the wonderful time we had with Ombak Dive centre. Mr Sam and his lovely group of divers: Miki, Alif , Mo and Shabi were the most amazing dive instructors you could ask for. They managed to get my gf who's afraid of water, to dive down to 9 meters on a discovery scuba dive. Mo made me feel comfortable in a scuba suit again, he took us out for a shallow dive which got me ready for my dive with Miki, who literally made me love diving again, and Alif, who ended our trip with an epic dive! was a truly magical experience. We felt safe and were constantly checked on by our instructors. Even the equipment is top notch! Scubapro and Aqualung gear, and it's really well maintained.
No words can describe the happiness i felt diving again and it was handled so well by Ombak. We made a booking with another PADI dive center but they were snobbish and almost ruined our whole trip. Thankfully i booked a place with Ombak because their SSI dive centre saved me the whole trip and again, made my experience magical. You can look them up on the SSI app "Ombak divers" they are legit 5 star. Even If you already have a PADI licence, you can still dive with SSI or do courses with them so, don't let the branding deter you from choosing these guys because they are awesome!
Thank you so much Ombak divers. You will always have a special place in my heart. I am so grateful to each and every one of you for making this an unforgettable experience. Till we meet again.
Sincerely,
Terry.

Excellent location. Just right next to the Coral Bay Jetty and easy access. Perfect spot to catch the sunset. We had a room which is equipped with mosquito nets, hot water shower, kettle and fridge with basic tea/coffee servings.
Takes about ten minutes to reach long beach to catch sun rise at the opposite side of the land.
Serves simple breakfast but sufficient.
They do offer diving and snorkelling packages as well tho we did not get to try it as we’ve booked others.
Delicious bbq right next to Ombak Resort called Amelia bbq. Go early before they run out of fresh seafood.
One of the reception staff is truly amazing! Very detailed explanation and helpful. Cheerful at all times and serve with a smile which makes your stay very pleasant. She definitely deserves a raise in this!

We had an amazing time in February at Ombak Dive Resort. It was the very start of the season so the island was completely empty and quiet.
We got our SSI Open Water certificate at the Dive Center, the instructor was competent and the prices were very reasonable for the service.
We loved the movie nights at the cafe, the selection of food and drinks was decent and the receptionist Farah was absolutely lovely!
All this on top of the location itself which is simply stunning and pristine.

Perfect place to start your diving career! Amazing resort perfectly located, with nice airconditioned rooms and really kind staff. The diving package is perfect for starting divers, as the diving instructor is really experienced and takes you to nice shallow reefs to start of and end with a cool ship wreck dive! Amazing experiences all around. Good food, good breakfast, no complaints.

Had a short 4D3N holiday at Ombak!
Great service and friendly staff. It's a short walk to the resort from jetty so do ask for bellboy service before arrival if u hv heavy baggage.
The resort is a small quaint resort on Perhentian Kecil Coral Bay. So they are well protected from the monsoon and can open the resort/ diving season earlier than others. Waters are calm at this bay so we did snorkelling across the whole bay and pass the small cove to get to Romantic beach.
Rooms are as expected but clean and well maintain. The resort staff cleans daily so all the paths are also clean.
They hv movie night every night and happy hour too. The food is okay and can be improved but having said that, if u take a full board package you wont be hungry!
Overall a nice lovely gateway with my family and i really had fun!

A beautiful resort near Romantic Beach, and withun walking distance of Long Beach. Lovely staff, great service at the restaurant and a delicious breakfast. We took a three day diving course which was great for beginners. Overall a great spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Had a great time at Ombak resort. Farah at reception is lovely and very helpful. Dave at the dive center was a great instructor, and helped us get our SSI diving license. Great location, so peaceful. And the movie nights at the restaurant are a great extra perk.

These beaches offer a variety of activities, such as swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and water sports. They are also popular for seafood restaurants and resorts.
In addition to these popular beaches, there are many other beautiful beaches in Malaysia. Some of the lesser-known beaches that are worth a visit include

Terrible place. Dirty. All of the facilities are not functioning - start from the door until the toilet. The surrounding with broken pipe. With the bau kepam. The toilet is so bad! DIRTY. Not worth the money

Please skip this place if you are afraid of cockroach. We were attacked by ants family too! The entire place isn’t well maintained. Shower facility has spoilt and not able to hang on the wall. One most important thing, they don’t provide toilet paper! No hair dryer. With the amount you paid, you deserve for better place. Please reconsider

It was a kind of a bad experience during my vacation at this particular resort.
The place had weak internet signal, bad swimming pool cleanliness, no security guard to keep watch of the visitors that is using the pool and others who do not obey to the rules that says "no eating" in the swimming pool! I mean it's common sense and it shouldn't of been told in the first place.
The room was nice but it was a little unmanaged judging from the amount of dusts in the room that makes my foot feel uneasy to walk on. Bathroom had no issue so that's great. I had a glance of the playground and iirc it looks a little rusty and very dangerous to let your kids play on.
Finally, the service wasn't good. As I said before, no security guard at the swimming pool and checking in took some time that we almost considered getting one deluxe room to speed up the process.
Overall, I suggest not going here but if you have no other choices, it's not the worst place you could of ever imagined to have your vacation on. Also, pardon for my bad English.

This resort is a bit deserted but actually a very huge resort. Many room type to choose and we stay at family deluxe. With 1 Queen bed and double single bed make the room large enough to accommodate a small family with the kids. Just since this resort an old resort, so nothing special with the room.
Near to the beach but still need to ride a car to reaching out the beach. You can fishing at the back your chalet. So near to climb Bukit Kluang too.
The best thing about this resort is, they got very huge swim area. 3 big pools and 1 small pool to accommodate a huge visitors at one time. Thus, this many pools is made for the kids. 2 big pools for kids, 1 pool for adult and 1 small pool for small kids. And lastly the best part is the water is always warmth.

we checked in during raya so there wasn't many rooms so we were lucky enough to actually get 1. but advised to bring your own towels because each room get 2 towels and an additional one will cost rm5. other than that, the place is very beautiful !!

The resort is old with old amenities and old rooms. My family deluxe room was at the end of the resort. somewhat quite far from the pool and restaurant. We have to walk a bit. But the pool was huge. I think they were the best pool around the area. You should try it. The Ombak restaurant served a good meal. We didnt take the buffet but order few dishes and it was delicious.
As for room i was disappointed because it didnt have any secure lock. The bathroom also didnt have lock. When i first arrive the room was missing one light. Luckily, the staff was quick tu fix it.
Good place to stay aside from the room.

Lively public beach with standard facilities such as food kiosks, a parking lot & toilets.
I would jog in the morning, but I didn't expect this tremendous beautiful beach during the afternoon.

Great beach to have a picnic. A place that is great for photo shooting and gathering with family and friends. The beach has a nice shoreline. The water was clear and warm. Sandy beach facing South China Sea. Very relaxing and tranquilizing. Nearby can find hotels and accommodation.

Suitable for taking family picnics and leisure in the evening. The beach will be full of visitors on the weekend so we will be able to see various family activities and various types of food and merchandise sales around the beach.

The beach has a nice shoreline. Excellent beach for a picnic. Fortunately, we avoided visiting on a weekend when the area would have been crowded with locals and tourists. The clear blue water is pleasant to look at.
Min House Camp is a rustic retreat nestled in the midst of nature. This riverside resort offers basic yet comfortable accommodations and group activities such as kayaking, traditional games like congkak, and an opportunity to learn about honey production. The lush surroundings are a visual treat, and the staffs are friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, fireflies may not be visible during your stay.
I love this place♥️
Please do visit with your loved ones, and family here!

It's a great place for activities and seeing nature up close. They make their own compost for the vegetation. They offer variety of activities like kayaking, archery, firefly sighting etc. One interesting thing is you've to clean your used dishes here.

Great spacious room, just i expect more of cleanliness of the room and the cafe in front of our room, the canopy at the cafe dirtied with bird poos, i would tolerate if not much but that massive, might consider natural attraction :) unfortunately eating place, the kind of sight shouldnt be highlighted

A secluded collection of huts and relics in a mosquito infested compund overgrown with thickets and bushes.
A tourist trap perfect for hippy kwailohs and clueless ang mohs.

A place with greenery and the staffs are friendly! Can do kayaking, play traditional games(congkak), get to know the production of honey etc..It's worth for visit! Too bad can't see the firefly due to the unforeseen reason.

I went to visit the famous and viral wooden bridge around the river on 7th April 2022. But, unfortunately the wooden bridge was totally in a bad condition. I didn't have a chance to explore the bridge at all. I've asked the villagers and they said the bridge was destroyed by flood. I don't even know when will the bridge be reconstructed by responsible authorities.
