Masjid Terapung Kuala Ibai is a serene and pristine mosque that appears to float on the waters of Kuala Ibai Lagoon. Its stunning white architecture with domes can be accessed via bridges, adding to its allure. The entrance has security guards in place, and the facility is well-maintained with clear labeling and signage throughout. Women's prayer areas are located downstairs and upstairs with cleaned telekungs available for use.
It always gives me a sense of tranquility to visit this mosque which is built over the Kuala Ibai Lagoon. Best of all, the mosque is kept extraordinarily clean and kudos to the management of the mosque!

Really old mosque, so called the first floating mosque... Met a very nice n friendly pakcik that bring us around the mosque n show us the inside (we see it from the outside) even thou we are not properly dress... They do have a Aircon prayer hall thou... Could just sit outside the mosque to "appreciate" the "peacefulness... Actually do not need to visit the "inside" ...

This beautiful floating mosque situated along the East Coast Federal Route 3, serves as an enchanting photo spot. Adjacent to the beach, there is a park where visitors can enjoy an even better view of the mosque. During my visit (school holiday), many people were picnicking at the park, creating a lively atmosphere.
Upon closer inspection, I noticed some dirty marks on the white facade of the mosque. However, from a distance, the mosque still retains its beauty and charm. It serves as a picturesque landmark that adds to the overall charm of the area.

Beautiful surrounding. Great place for photo shoot.

A beautiful and majestic mosque built in the water that appears floating. The surrounding area is serene and peaceful. Nice scenery, well maintained and clean. There is no shoes shelving. Places are very well labeled and signage. Men and women toilets are located on the left side. Women prayer areas are on the left, located at ground as well as upstairs. Opposite the mosque is a wide beautiful lagoon for leisure, recreation activities and picnic for the local residents and visitors.

A beautiful and majestic mosque built on the edge of a lake. The surrounding area is serene and peaceful . Opposite the mosque is a wide beautiful lagoon for leisure, recreation activities and picnic for the local residents and visitors.
Ty lee — Google review
The mosque is also known as the "floating mosque" of Kuala Ibai. The bright white structure contrasts with the dark waters of a lake which surrounds the mosque. When the waters are calm, a mirror image of the mosque forms under the actual mosque. It isn't often that you can see that happening. To enter the mosque, you can walk across one of two bridges that connect it to the mainland. The mosque is located within a park by the Ibai River estuary.
nazif JT — Google review
Very, very serene place. I sat from a far across the lake near maghrib and i get why there are people who sit bawa foldable chairs/ picnic kecil-kecilan. Area across the lake very well mantained. Mcm nak live there pun ada. Especially when call to prayer, masa azan maghrib. Sunset dia sangat cantik.
Liyana S — Google review
With the concept of floating mosque, the view is just majestic. although the mosque do not allow any non muslim to go inside, view from the outside is more than enough. Lake surrounding the mosque is artificial, but still it is beautiful lake. You can but RM 1 fish food since there many fish in the lake waiting for food. There are also a nice park nearby when you can picnic too

Pantai Batu Buruk is a popular beach destination that offers activities such as kite flying and horseback riding, along with local food stalls. This clean and well-kept three-kilometer stretch of beach is ideal for jogging in the morning or afternoon, although it can get crowded on weekends. The friendly crowd adds to the atmosphere of this picturesque location which also boasts some Instagram-worthy spots. Very good sea breeze. There are few people selling kites and bubble toys. Beach a bit dirty but overall nice.

Seems like local people don't swim in this part of the ocean. Many drown. Just read the news, a man ( tourist ) died there, got swept off by the strong current. Stay vigilant. Also consult with the locals if it's advisable to be in certain areas as signboards are not always placed where they're supposed to be.
But there are fun activities at the beach and places to makan², so if you're going there enjoy the views, fly kites, go horse riding, eat some yummy food.
Just DON'T GO FOR A SWIM.
Bluey Bleu — Google review
Seeking for a peaceful mind? There you are. Sad to see that there were many litters thrown all over the beach. 🙁

Pantai Batu Buruk has been synonymously regarded as one of the most prominent beaches in Terengganu, even appearing in the famous hit song, Blues Ganu Kita sung by Allahyarham Saleem. A place bustling with hawkers and street vendors, Pantai Batu Buruk is a good place for relaxing and recreation. Families can come here to enjoy the sea breeze and play kites with their children, and the youths can hang out with their friends and take pictures. Despite being a famous local attraction, the beach is quite unkempt; driftwood and trash are abundant and these items ruin the good image of the beach. Hopefully the authorities will take care of this problem soon.
Muhamad Nurlutfi — Google review
Batu Buruk Beach is famous for its white sand and casuarina trees that grow abundantly along the beach. It became a mandatory destination when I returned to my hometown. By looking at the waves and the comfortable atmosphere it can bring back the memories of my childhood.

Pasar Payang, also known as Pasar Besar Kedai Payang, is a bustling central market located on the banks of the Terengganu River in Kuala Terengganu. This indoor market offers a modern shopping experience and features a wide range of traditional handicrafts such as batik cloth, silk products, gold brocade, and brassware. Visitors can also find fresh agricultural products and local delicacies like chips, pottery, and salted fish.
Love it, how could you not, it is after all the center of attraction in Kuala Trengganu.
Tourists made the bulk of patrons here, but locals throng here in droves too.
Prices are fine and affordable, there is a RM2 nasi lemak sold here 😅 try beat that miss rahmah 😋
Awesome spot but please to tourists and locals alike, do not litter, use the garbage can.

There's a saying 'shop till you drop'. Got some beautiful batiks for ourselves and headed on to other outlets. An eye catching place indeed but we did not stay for long due to the crowds thou strictly with SOP....
Nora Abdrahman — Google review
A big shopping place for shoppers. There are more than 200 small stores with few sections.. Batik section, Dried food section, wet food section, toys/soft toys section, food court and many more!
The good thing is you can bargain up to 20% of the total price. If you don't agree with the price, just say thank you, smile and walk from the store.
Make sure you remember the store name collection because all stores have the same store design. They also have a food court facing the sea. Warm & calm.. There are tonnes of food for you to try. Dont forget to try their noodle soup. One of the best in Kuala Terengganu.
Overall, worth the experience. The tendency for you to shop till you drop is very high!
Dont forget, come after 9am coz most ofbthe stalls open around that timing
======
Memang terbaik. Boleh jadik pening if datang sini. Rasa semua nak beli. Makanan dia.. Batik dia.. Mwmang terbaik.kualiti. Ngam dengan harga.
Must go tau if korang datang Kuala Terengganu & make sure datang lepas jam 9. Baru banyaak kedai bukak..

kosita butrattana — Google review
Is a one storey building with many stalls selling snacks, clothings, fruits and vegetables. However stalls are selling the same products and price is the same, yet still can bargain in order to get the cheapest. At the back entrance is the waterfront.

This place is big.. with many small small store. After you have bargain and check the price with the store owner remember the store location, if not you will facing hard time to recall which one is the best price store..
Jack Chin — Google review
Market conditions are quite crowded due to the holiday season. There is not enough parking to accommodate the arrival of tourists from the state. The price of the sale items is quite moderate and some sellers are kind enough to offer low prices or give a little extra on the purchase.
射线Mr R — Google review
Great place to shop for batik, souvenirs, or local delicacies. The food at the food stall, which was located at the back of the market, was average, and you could find better options elsewhere. However, the sellers were polite, friendly, and accommodating.
My family and I bought bekpang (rice crispies), kuih gulung (love letters), cashews, and some other tidbits, after our nasi dagang breakfast. We also got a pair of clothing sets as souvenirs for our family members. Alhamdulillah.
NikIqa Ghazali — Google review
Visited during a rainy day. But still loads of tourist and visitors. They are divided into a wet section and dry section.
Alot of kuih, kerepok and sweets on sale.
Row after row of clothes, batik clothes and shirts. Quite repetetive as all stores are selling the same things.
Theres a small row towards the toilets where we stumbled upon a few vendors selling rokok daun (rolled tobacco).
Kim Guan — Google review
This place got a lot of foods (please give a try to terengganu's traditional food😉) , clothes, souvenirs and others. You might love this place if you're a shopping maniac🤭
Besides that there are also a lot of stalls selling fast food and drinks outside the pasar. All of it looks delicious and appetizing🤤
Its a little bit hard to find the nearest free parking towards the entrance. But u can still park ur transport at the rm2 parking beside the pasar with a little bit of walking.
Masyitah Radi — Google review
A local market must visit to get local snacks as souvenir.
Must buy ~ keropok lekor@lesong.
You can also find famous local unique cloths here ~ Batik. However, not all stalls can bargain.
J-Ho S. C. — Google review
The new arrangement is not really friendly. Previously, we loved the specialty made for each floor and more organized. We understand that this is just a temporary setting while waiting for the new building to be ready. Overall, the vibe is not the same. Can't wait to go again in the new building.
Bob SR — Google review
My friend said he had a very good mee sup celup at the Pasar Payang entrance. He said it was savoury with the added lime juice on top.. and I just knew that the new business centre will be open beside it just in the corner. I really can't wait..
Aiman Fazdil — Google review
A must visit place when you are traveling to Terengganu. The wide path way becomes narrow just because the vendor put all their stuff in front & outside the outlet. This causes the difficulty of visitor movement & jammed. So many things are sold here such as souvenirs, clothing & traditional food. Busy during school holidays.
E-g Romaizi — Google review
Pasar Payang in Kuala Terengganu is located by the Terengganu River. It opens daily from as early as 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The new Pasar Payang which is more comfortable and spacious is expected to be open later this year.
The market houses hundreds of shops selling traditional handicrafts such as batik, silk, songket, handmade crafts, as well as fresh produce.
Your visits to Kuala Terengganu are not completed without shopping at Pasar Payang.

I wish I can give it more stars than this but I think someone either the council, tourism board should put a hand into upkeeping this stretch of road. The walkways are almost impossible to walk on. The old architecture of the buildings here are worth keeping for the coming generations. It's actually quite as beautiful as those in Melaka and Ipoh. The alleyways are almost all being done up and fascinating. Wall murals, educational and cultural information. It's really a good day out for families and tourists. A handful of cafes and kopitiams... Enough to quench your thirst and hunger pangs.

Great place to learn Terengganu uniqueness in Chinatown. Surprisingly here got lot foods that will surprise you. Nyonya food here different from melaka and penang, really got terengganu taste and uniqueness. If you love to take photo, here is great place for you spend your time.

Masjid Kristal, a magnificent mosque situated on the manmade island of Wan Man in Terengganu's Islamic Heritage Park, is a popular tourist destination. The opulent structure is made of steel, glass and crystal and boasts an enormous chandelier. Unfortunately, it is currently closed for repairs or construction until April. Despite this setback, there are plenty of other attractions to explore in the area.
One of Terengganu 'killer', a must visit place all time! Place is awesome, well maintained, clean, and importantly still beautiful even at day or night! At day got many visitors, can try to visit at night which is less visitors come.

Redang Island, located in the Terengganu Marine Park, is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. This stunning island offers white-sand beaches and is renowned for its biodiversity conservation efforts. The best time to visit is between April and October when visitors can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, diving, and island hopping. As one of the largest islands in Terengganu, Redang Island attracts both locals and tourists with its crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life.
Absolutely beautiful, with snorkeling & diving exp. Bring your gears & gopro so you won't miss the beautiful scenes.
A bit far from KL, i took a bus to get there & arrived early morning ~ 6am, but well-worth the trip.
They have 1-day tour for a quick visit
But can absolutely stay longer - 3D2N if you love the beaches & marine life.

Location of accommodation is very important. We stayed at the Redang jetty and there was a lack of any restaurant/bars nearby. There is one road to the other side of the island with a beautiful beach but nothing else there. Long beach is a great place to stay but when we tried to get a water taxi there none of them would give us a good price and said we needed to rent an entire boat for 600RM even though we were just 2 people. Island is not necessarily ready for backpackers.

Some of the beaches here
▪︎Taaras Beach (best beach on Island)

This island has been too commercialised and always crowded during weekend and public holiday.
The coral reefs in Pulau Redang are rapidly declining due to climate change and

This COULD be a beautiful, restful, relaxing island but they have ruined it! There is trash EVERYWHERE. It's not up to American standards or European standards at all. The smells from their public restrooms are nauseating and there is a constant smell and pillows of smoke from trash being burned directing behind the different resorts. The sand is soft but littered with lighters, bags, cigarette butts and bottles. It's not worth your hard earned money!

Please take note, best date to go to Redang Island is on Mid of March (10th and later) until End of September .Redang Island is CLOSE from October until February because of northeast monsoon winds. Redang Island for me is in Top 10 list best & beautiful & must visit island in Malaysia. It takes around 1 hour 30minutes maybe from Kuala Besut Jetty to Redang Island. From Marang Jetty to Redang Island only takes 30 minutes. Don't forget to bring Ice Box Storage 10L or bigger with ice cubes inside with drinks if you are about to do snorkeling, swimming & diving journey to some places with boat captain. Place your Food and Baverages on the boat. You may get hungry and DEHYDRATION because of water activities. Bring your own snorkeling goggles for best experience. Boat captain's provided snorkeling goggles, but i think their goggles is little dirty and not be clean up properly. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is WEAR YOUR SAFETY LIFE JACKET CORRECTLY and PROPERLY!! Enjoy your holidays~. #Visit Malaysia , #Cuti-Cuti Malaysia , #Terengganu Kita , #Ganu Kite

Redang Marine Park not only offers crystal clear water but an amazing view of the sea and the hills. The island is located just 15 minutes away from Laguna Redang Island Resort by boat and it is highly recommended to visit.
Redang Marine Park is an ideal place for snorkeling with many colorful fishes and corals to explore. There will be snorkeling equipment available for rent and visitors are allowed to feed the bread to the fish.
The speedboat ride to the Marine Park was very relaxing and enjoyable as the surroundings offers beautiful views.

A very systematic and organised hotel that could accommodate large crowd without a mess. Registration process was smooth and efficient.
Room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Only basic stuffs were provided. Foods were served in quantity, not quality, enough to fill your tummy.
Snorkelling trip was safe as few life guards followed along and using big boats. However, the snorkelling spot under package was not interesting. Coral was not nice and nothing much to see.
This resort is very suitable for family vacation where you plan to bring elderly and kids for snorkelling. Overall,it is still a nice and cozy hotel.

Very nice scenery. The best part is watching sea turtle. It is very nice because the sea turtle have their own freedom. They are swimming freely in the ocean not animal in the cage. I think watching see turtle is the hilite of the trip. I feel really happy to see that.

Lang Tengah Turtle Watch (LTTW) was my first time volunteering on a turtle conservation project and it was memorable. From the moment you arrive to Turtle Bay and then walk into the stunning camp this is an experience I will never forget. The camp is basic jungle living but I knew this already and what I was expecting, and it allows to you move away from modern life and get back to nature and really 'live' in your surroundings. There were pristine warm waters all around with beautiful corals and marine life, a lovely beach and lots of places to explore.
Throughout my two weeks here I learnt a lot about turtle conservation as well as many others aspects of marine conservation and wildlife. Turtles came to nest on the beach regularly throughout my stay and to see these amazing creatures in the wild was a humbling experience and gave a great sense of satisfaction that a project like this is working and really helping. We also had nest hatchings in my time, watching as hundreds of baby turtles made their way to the sea and start their life.
Patrolling at night to ensure poachers are kept away and to look for turtles landing on the beaches was tiring but totally worth it for the reasons mentioned above. I had two weeks of learning new things, getting a better understanding of conservation work, seeing some incredible natural sites and living/working with a great bunch of staff and other volunteers in an environment and camp that takes you back to nature and reminds you of all the good things in this world. I would recommend this to anyone!!!

Volunteering in my own country! Dear fellow Malaysians, worry not because this place is really amazing for you to volunteer with!
"Life changing! My first volunteering experience with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch at Lang Tengah Island is absolutely rewarding and fruitful. The days are always filled in with chilling activities like snorkelling, jungle trekking, beach cleaning to adventurous journey like cliff jump! There are no rooms for boredom here in the camp because free time mean reading a book with a cup of coffee, sunbathing on peaceful beach or simply just do nothing and enjoy the serenity of Lang Tengah Island.
Sounds tempting? I have not told you yet, that you’ll be part of the projects and get hands on experience in turtle conservation and coral restoration. I am blessed to spot a green sea turtle with another volunteer, Lina during our night patrols and named her “Sarah-Guo”. We had the chance to watch her lay eggs and relocate the eggs to our nesting beach site, Turtle Bay. Besides, I also had the chance to get involve in coral nursery projects both by snorkelling and diving with the amazing research team.
Special gratitude to Jordan, LTTW camp manager who was always there guiding me and watch me grow from a lifejacket swimmer to free swimmer and to a diver! I am deeply appreciated to the LTTW team and fellow volunteers for being so helpful and cheerful all the time, making such great progress to the conservation projects on this island!"

In search for an escape, I found myself volunteering with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made.
I would have never imagined myself learning how to cook in the middle of a jungle, but it was fun experimenting and cooking up meals for everyone with the other volunteers. While learning about our coral reefs, I also had the chance to dive to help with coral conservation efforts by cleaning coral nurseries and building coral castles in efforts to restore the reefs around the island.
The highlight of the trip, is definitely the turtles. I became a mini turtle expert in a matter of days, from picking up facts about these magnificent creatures, seeing them upclose as they dragged themselves to shore, catching the eggs as the mother laid them, then reallocating the eggs to Turtle Bay. 6 nests in 2 weeks was just such a surreal experience!
It ain’t just about the work, but also lotsa fun, with at least one snorkel a day around the island. We learned about reef fishes, which helped us in identifying fishes during our snorkels. All of this, in the beautiful island of Lang Tengah, where you get clear waters with amazing visibility.
The past 14 days has been so fulfilling and enriching, and it went way beyond my expectations. No doubt, it’s definitely one of the best things I’ve done in my lifetime! Thank you Jordan, Seb, Gilles and Alex for an amazing experience. Two weeks went by pretty quick, but I’ll be back again to see some hatchlings next!

If you are considering volunteering here, definitely do it!! The people are amazing and the work they do is so important. You will spend the days snorkelling, playing games, going on hikes and going cliff jumping. We would have a big family style dinner then at night we would patrol the nesting beaches and learn about the turtles and hatchlings. Amazing experience, would love to come back sometime!!

Lang Tengah is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen . From the moment I stepped off the boat on to Turtle Bay I didn't stop smiling all week. The turtle watch team are so passionate on the work they do making sure that each individual has the best time they can while on the island . The volunteer program I would recommend to anyone helping to be part of the team saving the turtles from extinction is such a life changing experience.
I will definitely be returning to Lang Tengah Turtle Watch in the future.

Don’t know how to start
Probably one of the best experience. An amazing staff, on a amazing island with everything you need. Constantly learning about conservation and marine life and with opportunity to get involved with a lot of project.
If you are looking for a volunteer program about turtle, definitely one of the best you can get
Lorenzo Dubois — Google review
If you are looking for a volunteering project where you actually get to see results, Lange Tenga Turtle Watch is outstanding. Living in the jungle while only a few steps away from a paradise beach, you really do have it all. What a fantastic experience we had learning and contributing towards something so worth while - coral restoration and turtle conservation. You don’t need to look any further, you’ll enjoy this experience for sure.

Pulau Lang Tengah, 21020 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia
One of the nearer to Kuala Terengganu waterfalls. Very well planned estate although most of the chalets are too old. Hve to park outside the estate gate and pay RM2 to enter ( kids pay RM1). A very rustic and back to nature experience. The distance from the gate to the waterfall is about 1km but it may not be advisable to at where the actual waterfall is to swim or soak. The warning sign reads certain parts of the water basin is as deep as 7m and the the water velocity is quite great. An alternative place to soak the cold clear water would be where the old hanging bridge is near, some mid distance from the waterfall. Will certainly want to return!

Visiting this waterfall was one of the best experiences in my life! Honestly would recommend everyone to try it.
It is so relaxing to be so close to untouched nature.
It is so jaw dropping to see such a big beautiful waterfall in real life. Subhanallah!
It is sooo fun to swim in the streams, stand under the waterfall and get a back massage from the falling water and really fun to jump from the rocks. This is a life experience I would really recommend.

Hutan Lipur Sekayu, 21700 Kuala Berang, Terengganu, Malaysia
Turtle Beach, located in Pulau Perhentian Besar, is a serene and picturesque spot where visitors can potentially catch a glimpse of turtles. The beach offers crystal-clear blue waters and soft white sand, making it an ideal location for swimming and snorkeling. While the surrounding area may lack coral reefs, snorkeling near the rocks on the right side of the beach provides opportunities to observe various marine life such as fish, stingrays, and even baby sharks.
Wow wow wow. This is such a secluded and beautiful beach. It is the perfect setting for a beautiful picture, and is sooo secluded that it feels like a private beach.
Mahak Sharma — Google review
Really pleasant spot for chill. There is also a chance to see the turtle, however it’s not very easy. I’ve seen 2 turtles and it was absolutely great! The surrounding is not particularly interesting - there aren’t any corals around, only some sort of sea grass, which is eaten by the turtles. I would recommend Mimie’s shop to book a trip to the turtle beach. They know how to find a turtle. Overall, great experience!

The water here is sparkling blue and the beach has soft, fine, white sand. We stopped here for a break while island hopping and it was very relaxing to have a splash around the shallow water. Unfortunately there aren't many fishes to see here since there isn't any coral reefs nearby.

The best beach in Pulau Perhentian Besar. We have the beach fto ourselves for a while. The sea is blue and crystal clear. I did snorkel and I could see a different kind of fishs, even a Napoleon wrasse. Also there are some small sharks and rays. The sand is so small and feels perfect if you only want to swim. The best hour for pictures is between 11 to 15, as the sun makes the water look more turquoise.

Gorgeous, untouched beach in Perhentian - best beach on the island in my opinion. The beach is secluded and it’s like a slice of paradise, the water is an unreal shade of blue.
Snorkel around the rocks on the right of the beach to see lots of fishes and coral, even saw a stingray and baby shark!

Beautiful place. Best beach in the perhentians. Ample shade and a playful monkey. Grab water and a snack before you get there because the beach has no shops.
The Perhentian Islands in Malaysia are a marine paradise, perfect for snorkeling and diving. With vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine species, it offers an unforgettable experience. The islands consist of a big and small island with crystal-clear waters and soft sand, making it the best place to get some vitamin sea. The best time to visit is from mid-March to the end of September. It's recommended to bring your own alcoholic drinks as they are hard to find on the islands.
Best spot for a short getaway with your friends! A lovely view that just gives off healing vibes. Went for a short trip before my group of friends got married and we all had such a great time!

I can’t say enough magical things about this island. The fact that you have to take a bus and ferry here makes it feel remote in all the best ways. I spent a week on Long Beach at Oh La La and for a whole month spent in Malaysia, Perhentian’s was the absolute highlight.

Best place to get vitamin sea. There are 2 islands in this place, one is big and one is small. Both island also with crystal clear water and soft sand.
The best time to visit the island is around mid of march until the end of September. Also, it's hard to get alcoholic drinks at the island, you need to prepare and bring yourself to the island. Besides, If you need a better night life, i recommend to stay at the small island, The big island doesn't have much night life and entertainment.
Things you can do at the island.
-Climb the small island hill and visit the wind mill point
-Have fun with Water sport
-Scuba diving
-Snorkeling and island hopping
-Enjoy local food
-Watch the Fire show (night time)
-watch sunrise and sunset
Last and most important, please bring more cash because not all places accept e-banking or e-wallets as the payment.
Terengganu, what an incredibly gorgeous country that is overflowing with breathtaking beaches and picturesque islands.
The 2D1N trip to Perhentian Island was truly a remarkable experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tropical getaway. From the Jetty, it only takes about half an hour to reach the island. However, if you want to avoid the crowds, I suggest planning your trip during the weekdays.
The island is an oasis of natural beauty, with crystal clear waters, lush vegetation, and coconut palms everywhere you look. The atmosphere is truly tropical. Perhentian Island has something for everyone.
Snorkeling is a must-do activity, and I highly recommend bringing some food and mineral water with you on the boat to stay hydrated during your time in the water. The marine life is abundant, and the fish are sociable. Unfortunately, we didn't have any luck with the turtles during our visit, but I'm sure we will have better luck next time.
If you're on a tight budget...fear not! You can still have an unforgettable experience on this island without breaking the bank. Try buying some food or snacks on the mainland before you go, or consider staying in Kampung Nelayan, where prices are more manageable (or camping!)
I can't wait to plan another trip to this island, and I'm sure you won't regret adding it to your own bucket list.. So pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and prepare to be transported to a place of true natural beauty and wonder

One of the nice beaches to go to.
You can either take the bus or plane. When we went, we took the bus going (around 7hours), then ferry to the island and then plane back to KL.
We went to the big island, no parties at night (not sure if due to COVID). They said that the parties are in the small island.
A lot of tours are also available there.

Please take note, best date to go to Perhentian Island is on Mid of March (10th and later) until End of September .Perhentian Island is CLOSE from October until February because of northeast monsoon winds. Perhentian Island for me is in Top 10 list best & beautiful & must visit island in Malaysia. It takes around 30minutes maybe from Kuala Besut Jetty to Perhentian Island. Foods and Baverages are quite expensive in Perhentian Island.

Great trips and professionals at work. The dives are relaxed and they take time o help you around. I would recommend the divesides on the outer ring of the island over the once at the canal, but in the canal there is more microbes to see. Overall good dives and a very pleasant diveschool, the instructors know what they do and take it seriously.
Special shout out to Stefen! If you dive with him please during your safety stop do the game: rock paper siccors. He loves that ❤️

The most relaxed, easy going, service minded and helpful people work at this place. They live for your experience and will do everything in their power to accomodate you. They are well equipped and well organised. We got our PADI here (My 12 year old daughter and I). They had all the materials in our native tongue and the practicalities were expertly (and very safely) taught and explained by our diving instructor Jay (see picture) who has an angel's patience and much flair and a sense of humour, a trait all of the people working there seem to share. If you care for a dive or get your PADI on Perhentian Islands, I would DEFINITELY recommend these guys!! I really hope to meet up with them again. They made the stay on Perhentian magical!

We booked this place because we had a accomodation next door (Suhaila Palace) and it has a good rating on Google. We did 5 dives in 3 days. The first impression of this dive shop is reliable and professional. The staff is really professional, very friendly and fun! Thanks Akmal, Arman, Jay, Gabby and the rest of the wonderful staff such as the captain (sorry forgot the names). The equipment is good and looks/feels well maintained. We saw sharks, big turtles, moray eels, groupers, snappers and many many more! I will come back for sure!

I did my open water with these guys and would 100% recommend them to anyone from new to experienced divers. The team are so friendly, incredibly professional and you immediately feel at ease there. I was fortunate enough to get one on one instruction from Gabby, who really calmed all the nerves I had and made me feel so safe underwater. Leaving them at the end of the week was a little heartbreaking! The instructors know the dive sites really well and are able to find all sorts of different fish and animals. We saw so many different types of fish, as well as plenty of turtles, sharks and sting rays! Diving with them was a wonderful experience.

My daughter and I did lots of fun dives as well as my advanced open water qualification with Universal divers. I can’t stress how amazing they are. They are polite, patient and kind. They keep dive group sizes to small numbers so you get individual attention. We dived with every instructor and they were all lovely; we felt safe and informed the whole time. Anyone visiting the Perhentian islands needs to book some dives with Universal Divers. Big thanks to Steven who was great with my daughter, who needed to do a refresher and was a little nervous. The beach was so beautiful and quiet. Water is so clear and sand is soft. You have to walk quite far though to be able to swim. I spent 2 hours here all by myself. Season is over. I’m staying in Perhentian islands 29.10.-1.11. and 99% of places are closed. It’s nice to get all the beaches ans attractions to myself. But it’s very difficult to find a place to serve food or even drinks😁

The beach is beautiful and clean. Sea water is very clear and you can see many fishes.
The waves is not strong, I would say quite calm here so it’s quite safe to swim/play around in the sea.
The beach sands are white and feels good to walk without slipper.
Many food stalls selling food and drinks at a reasonable price.

Very clean beach, but too many boat anchors to avoid when walking along the shoreline and swimming. Sadly, coral reef near the rocks around the perimeter of the bay is 98 percent destroyed and gone. Plenty of colorful marine life fishes to enjoy while snorkeling.

An important advice is to stay at a place thats far enough from the fire show(10.30pm to 2am), near pit stop cafe. The loud music makes it difficult to sleep.

Wonderful experience as you get to have most soft sand and a slow slope so that you can walk into the ocean for waist high water and see lots of fishes around. This beach is the best place to be at night as you get to have multiple options for dinner and have a stomach full of yummiest food !
Make sure to visit this place as you can get a good bargain for the island hopping tours too !

The beach is relatively calm and soothing. You can easily stroll around the beach for hours. However it is less happening and bustling compared to my last visit. Perhaps it’s due to Ramadan month currently hence no local performances around in the evening at the long beach. Some eateries are not operating as well.
The boat master recommends us to visit coral bay instead as more performances and activities are running and being organised there which is about 20 minutes walk from the jetty. Perhaps we could venture there one evening.
Plenty of scuba diving and snorkelling options available so do give them a visit and make sure you’ve deal a fair price before signing up as the pricing differs a lot in between them. Keep a watch out for those who charges additional fee for equipment rental as we nearly fall into that. I mean come on. We are taking a package for snorkelling and diving and how is that possibly not wanting the equipments along and requiring additional payment. Make sure to ask about what’s included and what is not.
You can easily sign up for one around the island generally or the day before and do take note of their departure times. Snorkelling day trip around RM70 (4hours) generally excluding lunch and basic diving for first timer ranges around RM190-250 (3.5 hours)
A return Ferry transfers trip to the Perhentian Kecil from Besut ferry terminal costs RM35.
And do bring cash as not many accept cards or local digital wallets.
Have fun and enjoy the serenity at the beach! Will definitely be back to this lovely island.

Our lodge is located in Kampung Nelayan, so we took a water taxi here. This is the most well-known portion of the island, and it is quite amazing. You are welcome to eat outside and take in the breathtaking view of the sea while being accompanied by the refreshing wind of the ocean and the sight of coconut palms all around.
Because we visited during the weekdays, the place was much less busy. Hiking windmill and watching a firshow are just two of the activities you may do in while in the area. Although the fireshow is not as extensive as you may have anticipated, it will nevertheless keep you entertained throughout the night. It was fun.

Staff were super friendly and had such a wholesome family vibe. The people you meet are all having the same goal of exploring the marine life. The marine life was lively and stunning. Hands down the most life changing experience.
Big shoutout to Azwan for being a patient, informative and fun instructor throughout the course. The skills may get a little overwhelming but you are very safe in his hands - literally the best. We had the pleasure to do a fun dive with Yaakub as well - a very relaxed, reassuring and chill dive at the Pinnacle.
The people and diving left such a great impression on us, we are already thinking about doing our Advance soon!

Had a lot of fun diving with the team at Turtle Bay Divers. They are based on Long Beach, Perhentian Kecil. I did 4 dives with them, including a night dive. We dived in small groups, with ratio of 1-4 divers per guide. I was travelling solo, but everyone was so friendly and I didn't feel lonely at all.
For this dive trip, I had a very specific goal in mind - to practise deploying SMB. I mentioned this during the first dive briefing and everyone was very supportive and helped me to achieve my goal. They were all very patient when I messed up, dropped my spool and did all sorts of funny things. Thank you eveyone!

Great OWD course experience, thanks to all the staff (Edwin, Aniq, Azwan, Koci) for teaching and looking out for me and all the questions I had :) groups are small and the instructors prioritise safety and clear explanations above all. They are also really funny and pleasant. Will definitely come back!

We did 8 fun dives with Turtle Bay Divers - diving was great, not much current and plenty to see! Our guide Nick and the manager Edwin took care of everything for us, the crew were wonderful!

We looked at a few dive shops up and down long beach and it was an instant decision as Turtle bay divers made and instant impression on me and my partner. Very attentive, very friendly, professional and had a sense of humour, (it was a no given decision to do our dive with them.)
We originally just wanted to experience diving with discovery scuba, we continued to complete our scuba diver certification and finally upgraded to our open water PADI; the team didn’t force us or were pushy to sell or upgrade us and let us make our our decisions when we were ready, Which I really appreciated.
I was anxious to dive to such depths, but left feeling super confident and wanted to dive deeper. ;)
Our dive instructor Aniq, was amazing, highly experienced , professional and still made us laugh during our course and I always felt comfortable in his presence in and out of the water.
Yakob,(the owner) is so humble, hilarious and gave us all the time in the world, he really made us feel comfortable.
We also did a fun dive with Nick & Azri , once again couldn’t fault them,
They too deserve heaps of credit, for their professionalism, experience and left us with best memory of The pinnacle ( temple of the sea ) dive sight ( which I highly recommend.)
When I think of Turtle bay divers I think instantly of family, you can tell the team really looks after each other and it’s guests, I’ll always remember and cherish the memory of completing my Dive padi with this crew!
Can’t thank them all enough!

We had a fantastic time diving with Turtle Bay doing our AOW! They're based on Perhentian Kecil's Long Beach which has tonnes of great restaurants. Yaakub was our instructor who was very patient and helpful; he explained everything thoroughly before our dives. The dive centre is great, with all the equipment you need to borrow, and everyone is very friendly. We did five dives on the AOW and then an additional three fun dives, one of which you get for free after completing the AOW. All of the dive locations are amazing, no more than 20mins by boat; we saw turtles, sharks, moray eels, rays, cuttlefish and lots of different fish which Yaakub helped us identify after the dives, plus there are a couple of great wrecks which have incredible schools of fish and other marine life. I recommend diving at the Pinnacle (Temple of the Sea). Like other dive centres in the Perhentians, the dives are really well-priced, and we felt super safe diving with Turtle Bay. Although we stayed at Ombak Resort in Coral Bay, there was an easy 10min path to reach the dive centre, and they were easily reachable via WhatsApp. If you're planning a dive trip, the Perhentians are very easy to reach by a short flight to Kota Bharu (from KL, Penang etc.), from where Turtle Bay can organise the bus and boat transfer for you which is what we did. The water is crystal clear, there are so many stunning beaches on both Kecil and Besar and loads of places to rent SUPs, kayaks etc. and Turtle Bay lets you use snorkel gear for free. I highly recommend diving with Turtle Bay, whether you're diving for the first time, doing a course or just fun diving!

This is my first ever diving trip and had my 3days open water training with Matahari Divers at Perhentian Kecil.
I wanted to thanks my love, B for introducing me to the Diving World and let me got the chance to explore myself to this beautiful underwater world with Matahari Divers. I’d really enjoyed this diving trip to the max. 3 days definitely not enough for me. Really had fun with them, special thanks to my instructor, Rizal who taught me every useful skills during the training, I felt safe and comfortable while diving with him, he is a caring instructor and also an experienced & fun diving buddy.👍🏻
I am sure I will come again to dive with them or taking my Advanced course later or sooner. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

I highly recommend Matahari for the PADI Open Water! 990 in around 3 days:
- Great energy, thanks to the experienced and easy going instructors, shout out to the Bestest Nicole and Wise Aslam (3k+ dives)!
- Clean premises and diving gears, easily accessible from Long Beach
- Newbie friendly and welcoming, thanks to the amazing receptionist Damien who did a great job at introducing Matahari.
Overall unique diving experience, but not
only:
- The staff is part of the Fire show on the island (they are the cool kids!) and made sure to include the students to the party!
- Jeng, who is in charge of Matahari, was literally born on the island and is highly knowledgeable about pretty much everything that you could need, from medicinal plants, to private island hoping or money exchange!
You won't regret spending time with the Matahari family! (Plus they provide amazing t-shirts upon completion of the PADI)

Got my open water diving license with Matahari. This is my first official diving lesson and despite that I don’t really have a lot of reference to compared to. Yet I wanted to say that I had the most wonderful diving experience with Matahari. I dived with instructor Rizal, who was very willing to share his knowledge and experiences, his assistant Rais who make sure our equipments are all good to go and last but not least hawk-eyed boatman Nain. It was a memorable diving experience and turned me into an addict. So whether you’re taking a license or doing fun dive, recommended to go with them.

Excelent place for diving courses and fun diving. We did PADI Open Water. The instructor made the whole learning process effective, easy and fun. All the staff working in this dive center were kind, friendly and always ready to help. Their prices are really competitive.

Myself and my partner completed the Open Water and Advanced Open Water PADI courses with Matahari and had the most amazing experience.
Shelby and Adam were really quick to respond to us and made booking the course very easy. They were both really welcoming to us and do a fantastic job running the dive shop.
We had two fantastic instructors in Rais and Saho. Both of them were really friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They made sure we understood all the concepts and could perform the required skills. They made all of our dives lots of fun and showed us beautiful reefs, cool wrecks, and plenty of interesting marine life. You couldn’t ask for two better instructors.
I also have to mention Mat Jeng who runs the guesthouse. He’s one of the nicest people you could hope to meet and made us delicious pancakes for breakfast each morning.
For anyone considering coming to the Perhentian Islands to dive, Matahari should be top of their list. From start to finish, everything was brilliant. Thanks guys. We hope to be back in the future.

My boys for the 1st time breathe underwater and it was really amazing how kids could adapt easily to such environment. We were assisted by professionals and fortunate enough to have Kak Nur as an Instructor for the DSD. With strict confidence in her, handling the boys was a breeze. It was a truly amazing experience for them and I am sure the journey has just began. Well recommended if you wanna do DSD and fun dives. We have been diving with Anti Gravity Divers for the past week and it has been a great experience. My three children have done the Open Water course. I would like to highlight the professionalism and friendliness of their instructors, but above all the responsibility for safety during the course and the dives we do. All the equipment was new and gave you a lot of security. I am sure we will come back to dive with them one day. Thank you very much to Anand, Azman, Joy and Susi.

Went there 3 weeks ago with my buddy and had an 8-day fun dive straight with Anti gravity. Did not regret at all to have chosen them over the many shops.
The website is clean and easy to navigate. Their Facebook is with educational content on top of the fun/sales stuff. That was one of reasons I contacted them.
The contact with Sue for booking is smooth, efficient and fun.
The place is designed so nature/space-lover-friendly.
All the people there are professional, friendly, helpful. Probably not only by everyone's nature but also the owner has done a great job in organizing and leading the team. (I also happen to have witnessed procedure refreshers conducted for all crews during my stay).
The dives were of great experiences thanks to not only the consideration of the dive sites (since we are there for quite some time) but also to all crews who helped when we went out diving and came back, and of course to all the guides. - A special thanks to Joy who we dived the most with.
Thank you Anti Gravity team, for everything you helped us with, for all great experiences you brought us

Amazing experience diving with Anti Gravity Divers, highly recommend!
My wife and I did four fun dives with them and our friend did the same plus a refresher.
We planned it all over email and WhatsApp before arriving to the island.
They offered free pickup and drop off to our accommodation at the beginning / end of the day which was much appreciated.
Everything seemed very well organised and professional. They gave each of us a dive computer for free (the first time we have experienced this in SE Asia). Special shout-out to Anna for her really thorough dive briefings - they made me feel 100% safe and confident and meant we could enjoy each dive to the max as we knew what to expect and look out for. Nico was also very helpful.
The dive sites they took us to were all great and very varied. We especially enjoyed the San Choi wreck dive - the sheer number of fish was staggering!

Diving with Anti Gravity Divers team was a great experience. I was a little worried taking my 3 kids for first time dive but AGD, Anand gave me a great confidence and showed me the best way by engaging friendly Joy as our instructor. Wonder how many Diving center will have this kind of support. My three kids and I did Open Water course successfully. As others mentioned, Joy is a nice strict instructor with great patience. I would like to highlight the professionalism and friendliness of Joy as an instructor. Talking about equipment, we were a little worried on the cleanliness and even brought our own mouth piece. But it was a waste because AGD maintains good cleanliness and most of it was quite new. I will definitely come come back to dive with them one day. Hope AGD can also do some free services by taking a few underwater photos for 1st time divers on a complimentary basis. We stayed at Ombak, nice place and a very expensive. You can also check out Senja Bay, our next Hotel facing the sea. Food you can eat at Ewans 50m, very cheapo and nice compared to the ones at the coral beach. Food at Long Beach also nice and reasonable. Thank you very much to Anand & Joy. Nur who came last day of us also seems to be a another friendly Instructor. She is fierce but extremely friendly.

Will definitely recommend Anti Gravity if you are looking to do your OPW course ✨✨

Mikele was our dive instructor for 4 of our fun dives - we couldn’t ask for anyone better. The equipment was very good and well looked after. Nice open space to get ready for a dive.

Great diving school! The dive masters & instructors are kind, welcoming, patient and above all skilled and professional. The standard is high, this goes for the gear (they even give divers without their own dive computer one to borrow for free to increase safety!) the briefings and the debriefing of dives. I did 6 fun dives and even a night dive with them, awesome! Would definitely recommend (start) diving with them!

Also, there are just so many beautiful places to dive on Perhentian!

If you’re looking for a dive centre in Perhentian, look no further. Anti Gravity is one of the best dive centres we’ve ever been to. Our son just turned 10 so we gifted him the junior open water certification for his birthday. We were meant to choose another dive centre nearer to our accommodation but didn’t feel any good vibes with them so we tried anti gravity out and have zero regrets! They are very professional, patient and fun and it’s a perfect place if you want your child to start their diving journey at. Mikki was my sons dive instructor and she’s just gem of a person. My son loved every bit of learning from her and she’s just unbelievably patient with kids. Everyone at the dive centre was amazing as well, a special shout out as well to Sue, Anna and Joy for the incredible experience we had. Not to forget the boat guy as well (we forgot his name) but everyone in this centre was PERFECT! Thank you so much guys! We will definitely be back.

The sanctuary keeps orphan elephants safe. Although sad to see this is happening but happy to see many healthy orphans are well taken care in nature landscape. The walk around the whole area is about 1km+. Follow the schedule if you want to see elephant shower, elephant show or interact with them.
The staffs that are taking care of the elephants seem like Thai so explanation is a problem here. If you are here to learn more about each elephant, that part is hugely missing. But spotting a group of elephants aren't a prob here.

If you want to come here, book the whole day for it and arrive early. Wear walking shoes as the place is huge and a lot of walking is needed. If you get there in time for the elephant bathing session, it would be a cute activity to see with your group. You can also feed the elephant but you must pay per bucket. The tree top walk is tiring but the view is worth it. We came during weekdays so it was not crowded at all

I want to highlight that you have to make you are wearing your proper and comfortable clothes bcs it can be really hot and u gotta walk around a lot. Got many staircases too. Be prepared okay. The tickets were very affordable and by the time we came, they told us to hurry if we want to watch the elephants bathing. According to their schedules it started at 2pm and it will end at 2.30pm. We were lucky we got to watch it. But if u miss it there will be another elephant bathing session at 4pm. Before coming here, be sure to check their information. Take note of the schedules. It was a pleasant experience. Overall i really do enjoyed it. The elephants were extremely adorable. Its nice that we can get super close to them.

The place is big, clean and well maintain. The facility is good. But unfortunately, i can only see three elephants along the top tree walk journey. I also hope that the company can give opportunity for the tourist to bath the elephants together. The foreign worker have a difficulty in giving explanation and cannot communicate well. But it is an enjoyable memory for people who love nature and animals.
The ticket price for Malaysian adult is RM25 per person.

Lovely place n a good home for the elephants. The mahouts are Thai & communicate well with these gentle giants. The canopy walks are fun & non strenuous.
Fees are affordable for locals & a lil higher for foreigners.
Medusa Hiss — Google review
Value for money. Affordable for a family trip. Good and clean facilities. But be advised to use baby carry instead of a stroller because there's a lot of steps.
Hafiz Hardy — Google review
Canopy walk by itself has made the ticket prices worth the RM25.00 (adult) & RM12.00 (children). Nature at its best! Can see lots of hardwood e.g. meranti, cengal, merbau etc & also abundance of palas (licuala palm) along/under the canopy walk (approx. 1KM in length & approx. 100m in height). There were 17 elephants on 01 March 2023, but we only saw 12 (other 5 were kept in their huts/enclosure).
Please note that this place is 10x better than a zoo as the elephants are roaming freely most of the time (with their mahouts, none were using sticks or the sharp goad, didn't see mahouts whacking/beating the elephants). When we were there, only 1 young bull was chained to the tree because his mahout was on leave. Other elephants were walking freely, taking bath in the river, being fed etc.
You'll see lots of negative comments about this place by righteous Mat Sallehs in Trip Advisor. Mostly saying the elephants are under duress, stressed up, being chained, beaten up etc. Well, they know the 'best' as they have plenty of 'happy' elephants in their zoos 🤭
Worth the visit, suitable for children, will definitely visit again!

Located in Terengganu, Kenyir Lake became one of the most magnificent tourist spots in Terengganu as well as in Malaysia. Kenyir luxurious forest is located in the district of Hulu Terengganu, which lies at a longitude of 102 degree 40 minutes and 4 degree and 40 minutes in latitude. It is believed that the rain forest is the world oldest tropical rainforest. The forest also serves as a part of Malaysia National Park.
Tasik Kenyir (Lake Kenyir) in Terengganu is the largest man-made lake in the country. According to Tourism Malaysia, it spans 209,199ha. It was formed from 1978 to 1985 by damming the Kenyir River. The valleys and plains behind the dam filled up with water and the hilltops and uplands remained to form islands, some 340 of them. River fish soon adapted to their new environment and today this freshwater lake has become a challenging spot for anglers to try their skill.

The scenery is simply stunning, and visitors can spend hours exploring the lake's various nooks and crannies, from hidden coves and waterfalls to serene beaches and rocky outcrops.
Beyond its natural beauty, Tasik Kenyir also offers a wide range of exciting activities for visitors to enjoy. Whether you're interested in fishing, boating, kayaking, or even jungle trekking, there's something for everyone here. And if you're looking for a more relaxing experience, the lake is surrounded by several comfortable resorts and lodges where you can unwind and take in the stunning views.
Overall, I would give Tasik Kenyir a 5-star rating for its unparalleled natural beauty, diverse range of activities, and comfortable accommodations. It's truly a gem of Malaysia, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure in the great outdoors.

Nature Vs Man.
The beach suffered so much erosion from the monsoon season, and it is now so different from its former self. A real pity as this beach used to be one of the famous ones during its hay days.
Nice place to do some kite flying, and the place is lined with small food stalls selling local seafood and delicacies.
Guanny G — Google review
Embarking on a weekend getaway to Kota Bharu, my wife, two friends, and I decided to unwind with an evening stroll at Pantai Cahaya Bulan. A scenic half-hour drive from our hotel in Kota Bharu brought us to this popular beach destination.
The beach was abuzz with locals, and an array of food and toy vendors lined the shore. Stalls offering local dishes and batik merchandise dotted the promenade, creating a lively atmosphere. Along the beachfront, we discovered restaurants catering to various tastes.
However, the overall cleanliness of the beach left something to be desired, with scattered trash marring the natural beauty. It is my hope that visitors will collectively contribute to maintaining the hygiene of this area.
One notable aspect was the prevalence of stray cats, some appearing healthy while others seemed in need. Cat enthusiasts may find joy in their presence, but for others, it could be a mixed experience.
The moonlit evening cast a beautiful reflection upon the sea, adding a touch of enchantment to the ambiance. While the beach lacks the infrastructure of prominent hotels, its natural charm and local vibrancy make it a worthwhile visit for those seeking a genuine experience.

It's a nearest beach from the Kota Bharu town. It will take 15min to 20min journey. For my advice, please choose wisely for the restaurant and it's bit pricey for local and term of cleanliness, it's a bit frustrated in regard of the beach or the restaurant. I hope the will keep improve the cleanliness. But still, it's a nice escape.

Siti Khadijah Market is a traditional and multi-level indoor market that features fresh produce, street food, clothing, housewares and other retail items including sarongs, shoes and toys. It is one of the largest and well-organized markets in Malaysia with an extensive range of products for normal household usage. The market has a colorful and airy design that makes grocery shopping a pleasant experience.
A local market which suitable for local and tourist to come and enjoy shopping, eating or just for leisure sightseeing. Great ambiance for shopping local items and taste the great local dish. Bring extraoney is a great advice to give 😂.. Near to mosque and heritage attractions at the city centre. Public transport also easy to get.

This is a very interesting market to visit. Most of the stalls are managed by women. You can buy many local stuffs here from daily necessities, clothes, food, fruits etc. Interestingly, some of the things here are quite cheap.
It's a one of the must-see places when in Kota Bharu

Really great local market and tourist friendly too. Anything from wet groceries to clothes and even exotic food can be found here. Got local traditional goods sold here. You can haggle for lower price.

Interesting place but in terms of cleanliness is not satisfactory. I first went to Pasar Siti Khadijah Kota Bharu. In my opinion this place is not suitable for tourists. Only suitable for buying daily wet goods. I hope the State Council can upgrade this market to attract foreign tourists.

💢 This is a must visit place if you are tourist as this is one of the iconic of Kelantan. Come early in the morning to witness the bustling of the market. Came late but still operating. There are lots of sections. For this photo spot, you may go up until level 2 to capture this shot. Go to the center of the circle.

Only have few premises selling local items.
Please negotiate before buy anything here.
Old building, the management did not maintained the maintenance.. sadly to see now.
Try to avoid friday, mostly shop closed on public holiday.

One of the last few places we visited in Kelantan was the Pasar Siti Khadijah Market. We always say that the food selections available in the market always reflect the destination’s culture and way of living. True enough, after visiting Pasar Siti Khadijah Market, I can attest that the food and culinary offerings of this place clearly tells us that the culture and traditions of Kelantan are very much colorful and interesting.

A very beautiful combined wet and dry market with all other kinds of retails like the sarongs, shoes, home accesories, toys and etc. It is easily one of the biggest and organized market in Malaysia, where u can get almost everything for your normal household usage. Some of the items are really nostalgia, reminiscent of your childhood time.
The design of the market is colourful and airy to make you have a better grocery and household shopping experience!

This market is a must-visit for first-timers in Kelantan, almost serving as an iconic location. Whether you're interested in shopping or photography, it offers a unique experience. While the market is old and hygiene standards may not be high, the sellers are extremely friendly.
We couldn't resist purchasing some keropok ikan and a pack of Thai fragrant rice 😆 to take home. In terms of pricing, we attempted to negotiate, but most stalls had fixed prices. Unlike other wet markets I've visited in different countries, there was no starting with a high price for bargaining purposes.

A must place visit to shop many kinds of needs from wet food, dry food, vegetables, kelantan special spices, foods like nasi kerabu, nasi dagang, laksa / laksam, kueh mueh such as jalanmas, buah tanjung, taik itik and many more. To the woman accessories, batik, songket and men’s batik shirt. The most important is the price very reasonable.

Building is too old, crying urgently for an upgrade! Not stroller friendly, need to carry from a level to another. Didn’t notice any elevator. So I gave up Not forgotten the stench🤮🤢, and the heat🥵🔥but the foods & goods are cheap & authentically kelantan. Too bad the environment do not serve a comfortable ambiance for tourists to shop👎

Siti Khadijah Market is a vibrant hub of activity located at Jalan Buluh Kubu in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This market is a treasure trove of delights, offering everything from fresh produce to hardware and gifts.
Not a highlight of my visit was the wet food section, where you can find an array of fresh fish, chicken, and more. I always seemed to enter the market through the fish stalls, which added an unexpected splash, and smell of adventure to my shopping experience! LOL.🤣
The market also boasts numerous fruit stalls, tempting you with their colourful displays. Upstairs, you'll find a variety of food stalls offering delicious local cuisine that will tantalise your taste buds.
Overall, Siti Khadijah Market is a must-visit destination in Kota Bharu, offering a lively atmosphere and diverse goods.🤗🤗🤗

As the daughter of a Kelantanese man, it is utterly sad to see how unkempt, dirty, half-empty, and dark this market has become.
I brought my non-Malaysian husband here, and I felt ashamed to show him this, but he insisted on coming to see the market that has been named after the first wife of Rasulullah SAW. Even Siti Khadijah RA would be embarrassed to have this market named after her.
Please, local government, do something. Stop bringing bad vibes to the religion.

Embarking on a weekend journey to Kota Bharu with my wife and friends, we eagerly delved into the local experience at Siti Khadijah Market—a top-rated destination for authentic products. Nestled in the city center, the market's vastness was immediately apparent, surrounded by ample free parking. Despite parking a bit farther due to the morning rush, the journey proved worthwhile.
The market's diversity impressed us, featuring sections dedicated to fruits, vegetables, hawker stalls, desserts, traditional clothes including batik and fabrics, a wet market, herbs and spices, as well as cafes and restaurants. Our exploration stretched for a delightful half-day, during which my wife's enthusiasm for shopping was commendable—I had to intervene to prevent an entire day spent in retail therapy! 😆
After our extensive tour, we opted for a brunch featuring Kelantan's renowned dish, laksam. Recommendations led us to Cek Yoh Cafe on the first floor, where we relished a generously portioned bowl. The laksam's flavors were delightful, especially the rich soup and well-prepared vegetables.
While transactions leaned towards cash, with some offering interbank transfers, e-wallet usage was relatively low. The market, in general, appeared somewhat humid and less pristine, possibly deterring international tourists. However, as locals, we found the atmosphere acceptable. Enhancements in cleanliness and ambience could undoubtedly elevate its appeal, making it more welcoming to tourists from around the globe in the future.

Interesting......the food area some folks may seem slightly assertive to come and eat.at their stall but actually they are very nice. Prices too change. If you merely asking prices are high once you say ues i want to eat prices go down. Cleanliness has dramatically improved from the last time i was here precovid.

The Handicrafts Village in Kota Bharu, Kelantan is a museum showcasing locally made handicrafts such as embroidery and silverware. The museum can be found on the upper level of a wooden building styled after rumah panggung. On the lower level, there are souvenir and food shops along with plenty of cats roaming around. Visitors interested in purchasing a keris should check out the corner shop offering intricately carved handles as well to avoid airport security issues.
Lovely space, i mostly come here for the nasi ulam cikgu

Informative and well presented.
The museum in the Handicrafts Village of Kota Bharu is one of the places worth visiting while in Kelantan. It gives a very good overview of Kelantanese Batik, its particularities and different patterns.
As Malay custom requires, one needs to remove its shoes before entering the museum. The ticket price is very affordable and we feel money well invested.
The main part of the museum is about Batik and its various patterns. The place showcases batik costumes as they would have been worn by different members of the society.
Apart from Batik to museum showcases traditional Malay objects and artifacts.
We spent about an hour in the museum and the adjacent buildings and found the place being informative, clean and well maintained.

My first time coming here and I like it. RM2 fee if you want to enter the museum. Not that big but sufficient information to know about batik and songket. If you wish to try drawing the batik, you pay RM10. There are few shops selling souvenirs with reasonable price. There is also a restaurant selling food which is famous in Kota Bharu, Restoran Nasi Ulam Cikgu. You should come here if you are visiting Kota Bharu

A very informative & interesting village.
You also can learn history of Kelantan Batik handmade. Even, you can get a great experience to learn batik paintings here. There also Kampung style buffet lunch with affordable price. A lots of ulam.
The variation of fried food such as chicken, cat fish, quail - everything was tempting, even the omelette. Easy access to the location.

Nice old buildings and worthwhile to just wonder around. Went around 10 am and only few shops open selling tourist souvenirs. Batik shop seems to take biggest space but only opens by 11 am. Museum is at first floor and no shoes allowed from staircase onward. Strange caution to carry your shoes around for safety. Staircase was dirty, therefore did not want to go up.

Nice place to visit to chill and get food. The Handicraft Museum is quite small on the upper level of the rumah panggung styled wood building. Lots of cats, some sparse souvenir and food shops on the lower level. Take a look at the Keris shop in the corner if you would like to bring a Keris home, or even the intricately carved handle if airport security issues are a big worry.

Istana Jahar Museum is a historic building constructed by the Sultan in the 1800s, which now houses valuable royal artifacts of Kelantan. This palace-turned-museum boasts displays of antique weapons and traditional attire worn by royalty. The iconic structure remains unchanged over time and includes a royal balcony that offers visitors a glimpse into the past while observing British and Japanese invasions.
It is a Royal palace I visited with my fellow colleagues who participated in a workshop in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. As everything else in Kota Bharu, this palace is no exception; very interesting. We can't go inside though to see up and close. The palace is well built and nicely decorated.

Wonderful place to visit in Kota Bahru if you have the time. It's a small Istana for the Kelantanese Royalty, built in 1887 under local architecture. Originally built for the Baginda Long Kundor, the Regent who succeeded to be the Sultan. Beautiful Malay carvings throughout with cast iron circular staircase and a magnificent anjung. Now housed a museum of Adat (culture) of the Royal family with well made descriptions. 2 ringgit entrance fee. Also houses a separate weapons gallery behind the main building. You can also see a Royal Boat, a gift from King Chulalongkorn to the Kelantan Sultan on his visit.

See brief history of Kelantan royalty at this museum. Artifacts on display include royal dresses, ceremonies, weapons etc.
A decent sized museum, you may see all in less than 2 hours max.
Healme O. — Google review
It used to be a royal palace, then became a ceremonial palace. And that's what the exhibition inside is all about. Entry is RM2 for adults and RM 1 for children. Foreigners pay double price. Nice to see inside the architecture. But unsure whether the different rooms originally existed or are just built up to showcase the different ceremonies. It's rather hot in the museum with only a few fans. Wonder how they can preserve their exhibits under such conditions. The english explanations are in red on yellow background, which is more difficult to read. Moreover they are lowly placed so one has to bend over all the time.
There is not much to see in Kota Bharu and so this place is one of the wortwhile visits.

The first floor is dedicated to the memory of the Second World War since Kelantan is one of the two entry points for the Japanese force and the first to fall. At the same time you have an opportunity to see the sunrise which is scenic and awesome.Remember that if you want to see the sea of mist you have to wake up at 4.00 am. Great place. Enjoyed it very much.
For those interested to visit:
1. Need to either drive or arrange transportation to bring you to the ascension car park.
The journey takes approximately 45 mins from your Betong hotel.
Most people will start off between 4 to latest 5 am to reach Aiyerang to eatch the sun rise.
Tut-tut cost about Thb 1,500 return.
Cars Thb 1,800. Vans Thb 2,500.
From the ascension point, the park rangers will arrange your transport up to the building with the overhang bridge.
Normally the park tut-tut charges Thb 30 per pax one way. You can arrange for a private 'charter' by informing the park rangers and paying the full sum of Thb 360. This way, you will have not only a more comfortable ride up, but also a express ride without having to queue with everyone else.
There are clean toilet facilities up where the building is, along with a cafe serving coffee and cakes.
You will need to purchase a pair of wrap-on covers for your shoes. This is to prevent your shoes ftom leabing scratches on the glass floor panels of the overhang bridge.
These cost Thb 30 per pair. You need to inform the lady whether it is for guys or ladies as they have 2 or 3 different sizes.
A hint - you can go straight to the lady while your partner helps to queue up fir the entryintk the building, to purchase the wrap-on shoe covers first.
This will help smoothen the procedure.
Once inside the building, you will put on your shoe covers, followed by a short filling up of your particulars - name, nationality and phone contact.
You will then need to decide - take the stairs or the lift (normally available to the disabled and elderly).
The tower building has 6 levels with each level having a viewing deck.
The overhang bridge with the glass floor observation deck is on Level 3.

The hot spring is located nesr the Piyamit Tunnels. The large pool spring looks a little dried and a little unpleasant to the eyes.
There is a hot pool where where hot spring water is channeled from the hot spring. You could soak your feet for relieve after having a long walk in Betong. Water doesn't seem to be very clean as people do not clean their feet prior to soaking in the hot spring water.
There is a bath area for you to clean your feet before and after soaking in the hot spring.
Also there's a place for you to soak and prepare soft boiled eggs.

Nice place to relax in Betong. Entrance is free. Do bring along a towel to dry yourself after soaking in the pool

Visited on a Saturday afternoon, and there was plenty of parking available. The hot spring had free entrance and was quite crowded with many tourists. However, the hot spring was not hot at all. It was just room temperature. Wouldn't recommend it.

Beautiful place. Can cook eggs while strolling. But the pool is only one that people could bathe and it is shallow. If they have 1m pool, would be better.

Another place to visit in Betong. Wasn't crowded during weekdays. Main pool water was more like warm rather than hot. Toilets and bathing place available. Plenty of seating places to relax with shady trees landscaping. Most people seem content just to dip their legs in the pool rather than soaking their whole body. The warm water seems to be good for larvae in the pool.

Free entrance. Parking in front of souveniers shop. Have toilet and changing room.
Absolutely interesting historical place. You pay 40 baht at the entrance then 15 walk into thick forest before you reach the tunnel. There is a short video presentation about the tunnel and Chinese/Malaya communist party. Then the custodian, a former communist member himself will guide you to the very well kept museum before you enter the tunnel itself.
Don't forget to stop by the 1000-year old fig tree on the way to the exit. There is a small cafe to chill out before heading back to Betong.

A small bit of history. Built by the Malaysian communists starting in the late 1970s. Tunnels appear to have been plastered likely to accommodate tourists. The most interesting part is at least some of the workers/guides were among the communists who lived and hid there. The displays of equipment used is also interesting.

Entrance fee is 60 baht for non citizen. A historical landmark nice to visit but not suitable for old citizen because need to climb stairs .The place is clean.

Piyamit Tunnel is at Ban Piyamit 1, Tambon Tano Mae Ro. Take the same route as the Hot Spring for four more kilometres. This area is the village of the Thai Development Participants and was once the base of Malaya Communist Division 2. The tunnel was built in three months in B.E. 2519, winding through the mountain for about one kilometre, about 50-60 feet wide with multiple entrances. It was used as the air raid shelter and food storage area. At present there is an exhibition about its history including the way of life in the forest. It is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Located about 16km from Betong, it takes approximately 30mins to get there by car. There is a 50 baht entrance fee which you need to purchase at the entrance. It takes about 20 to 30mins to walk to the main gallery (depending on how many times you stop to snap a photo) where you will be greeted by a custodian, who would eagerly brief you on its history of the tunnels. Within the compound there is also a museum and a small temple. Don't forget to visit the Millennium Tree which is another 20mins walk from the tunnels. A majestic fig tree worth the walk and to appreciate the wonders of nature.

When you come to Betong, Thailand, you should visit this historical place. It’s about 30 min drive from Betong, entrance fees is 50 THB. To reach the tunnel, you need to walk 30 min in the forest. There is a museum before entering the tunnel. There is video show and explanation by a staff. The tunnels were used by the Malaysian Communists as hiding place who moved to Thailand after the World War II. On the way back, there is The Pyamit Millennium Tree, a huge tree with a big hole in the middle of the tree and a golden monkey statue at the side. Worth going!
Beautiful and cool weather. Entrance at thb100 for adult and thb50 for children. Inclusive of tram ride. Lots of places to do photoshoot. Musolla available.

Various flowers blooming. Perfect scenery for a short family outing and perfect to get good pictures. Good place to bring eldest and children. Better to visit in the early morning to feel the cool morning breeze. This place also has parking area, convenience store and accommodation, in case anyone want to spend the night in this compound. Entrance in May 2019 is 60 baht per person for adult and 30 baht for children. Worth it. The only minus point is the journey to the place, it was steep road uphill so do drive carefully within speed limit. But the journey, though quite long, we enjoyed the mountain scenery along the road.

No change since I last came here... It's situated at the highland where you can book homestay to enjoy the cooling weather at night... As the name suggest, there's flower here... But nothing special about it... If you are not staying here, entrance fee if thb60

I forgot to ask the operators about the background of the place. Was there on Xmas 2023 from 2pm to 3pm. No crowd. I expected the place to be bigger.
We took a tram after the purchasing the ticket. There was only 1 stop. The next time we took the tram was to pass by their vege planting n back to the entrance again.
Enjoyed the garden.

Have a great and relax time to be here.
The Garden was fulled with various type of beautiful flower and framed by a hill. Besides, the workers mostly previously from Malaya Communist Army background, have a great time with them to know more about the history.

Due to poor signals from the telcos provider, we lost direction on google maps and arrived almost at closing time. This place closed at 5.00pm, we couldn't get access into the park and managed to linger around, snap a few quite shots of the place. Surrounding looks pretty quiet probably was closing time, noticed nothing much, only a souvenir shop, a cafeteria, a large pond with lots of tilapia fishes and a garden. There are accommodations available for rental, no other attractions that warrant your stay unless you would like to have plenty of peace and quiet within. It's located in the middle of nowhere miles away from Betong town, the road here is very winding with quite a number of steep climbs and decendings. My personal opinion as regards to visiting here, am rather disappointed and not sattisfied with what was on offer. Nothing thrilling noted, would bored you to death unless you are the quiet type that does not need any form of entertainment. Not for me, payment required to gain entrance into the park. If you like flowers maybe it will suits you fine. Me, I am off to another find.

Avoid going during afternoon time as it's really scorching hot. But overall experience is great and lovely to see flowers everywhere.

It is under major renovation now. Nothing to visit and it costs 40 baht. Highly Not recommended

It's a nice and cool weather place to stay. In the morning, a walk to view the flower garden is recommended. Rooms are big and spacious with hot water for bathing. Unfortunately for me, I had to change three rooms before settling in. The first room was still under cleaning, the second room located at the corner, lights started to flicker and the fan went dead despite resetting the ECB. Gave us a creepy feeling. The third room was right.

free entry. nice place to have a picnic and getting wet in the streams. parking is good but not unlimited, as it can be full during weekends and holiday.
there are limited places to put your stuff while you play on the water, so on busy days, it will be hard to find suitable spots.
changing room and toilet is ok, not great. when we were there, the lights were out, but even if it was a bright day, we were left wanting for more illumination.
overall a great experience to nature lovers and for dipping in the river streams

Scenic recreational area! The river is long and have a lot of spots to enjoy with area suitable for kids to small to medium waterfalls combined with deep pools. Certain areas are not allowed for swimming for safety reasons.
There are amenities such as air-conditioned chalets, roofed camping sites, open hall and bins. The washroom were closed during my visit. However, there is a petrol station five minutes away as a backup.
There’s parking spaces, pathways with railings and hanged bridge too. Free entry if you just wanna get wet. Permit application required through website for overnight stays as well as booking for amenities.

Perfect place to chill on a hot sunny day. Free entry too. Many gazebos available. Plenty of parking but on PH can be full. Toilet and changing rooms, surau are ok. However last time I went, there were 4 pcs of used diapers scattered nearby the river. PLEASE DO NOT LITTER. Use the bins given or take your trash home. Lovely place honestly, we just need to be mindful and civic minded to preserve the area <3

Calm & peaceful place! Waterfall is just 20-30 minutes of a slow walk from the entrance.
Reached there at around 7.30am - The place was empty and I was able to make multiple stops to enjoy the scenery & take photos. Wouldn't have had a chance if the place was crowded, since the waterfall viewing areas are quite small.

All the basic amenities are there. Hall of timbered-floor elevated camp area with electricity and running water but please check with the park office for the working conditions. There are chalets ready. Good parking space. Water is cool fresh and clean. Waterfall is another great feature. Toilets are provided too. The park also tags known trees so we can learn while strolling along the stream to the falls.

Elevated steel bridges form a canopy trail above a tropical rainforest with resident monkeys.
Had a lovely walk on this tree top walkway with my 2 kids aged 4 and 7. It is highly recommended. The structure seems well maintained and safe. Those afraid of height may find it challenging at first but its one of the best way to overcome the fear as you would be busy enjoying the views and quietness of forest. It took us around 50 minute to complete the tour. Parking was plenty at the park entrance and you have to walk around 200 m to the tree top entrance. Can just ask around the park operator. Overall, we really enjoy it.

Beautiful and serene space for de-stressing. Accessible for strollers.
The Tree Top Walk is all together with the nearby camp sites and river goers so the parking space is mainly occupied by them. Minus 1 star because of poorly manage parking space.
Toilet is superb clean, available before the entrance to the Tree Top Walk.
The entrance may look a bit "hill-y" at first, but its all a smooth walk from there till the exit.
I would definitely come again 👍🏻

Great experience. Entrance fee is rm 10 for adult and rm 6 for kids below 7 years old. Better go there in the morning as it will be less crowded and easier for you to find parking. While you on the bridge you can see tons of trees, flowers and waterfalls from sedim river system. I got lucky and able to see hornbill flying over the blue sky into the tree line. It was a relaxing and healthy activity for my family. P/S: since the tree top walk is just walking distance from sedim river and waterfall, you may want to bring your camping gear while you there just to enjoy the nature and to cooling off in one of best waterfall in kulim area.

Its good for science based learning project. Your children can learn about parasites tree and the symbiosis process. There are signage explaining on certain significant tree.
Nice for short visit, you can enjoy the waterfall after the visit.

This Canopy Walk is interesting but not for the faint hearted people. The atmosphere is fresh and cool. Sound of 🐦 bird chirping and the flow of the Sedim river makes the environment tranquil. Parking is available but need to pay. RM4 per entry.

Interesting experience to be able to walk high above the forest floor among the canopy and tree tops. However, it was rather quiet and disappointing as I expected to hear or see forest birds. In fact, there were more bird activities at the car park area where a pair of rhinoceros hornbill was sighted. By the way, staff should be more punctual instead of taking their own sweet time to open up the Tree Top Walk. Also, car park area is too messy, full of fallen leaves and uncollected rubbish. It looked more like an abandoned facility. Simply don't understand why collect money for parking when nothing is done for maintenance?

Pros : the top walk have breath taking view when reach the highest .
It's the most longest Tree top walk in the world base on what I know .(925m)(25000m tall)
The walk is on a thin metal like surface where it became very extreme to walk on if it's for people that are scare of high
Beside tree top walk , below also have flying fox ( need to booked ) , kayaking ( need to book ) , paintball (need to book ) jungle tracking ??? ( need ask local )
Con : below the walk , there was a river , on the shore , there were a lot of rubbish , and burning rubbish , and food waste , even the management didn't done it properly.
A lot of activity are not mention on booking or location , we follow the instruction on the activity board where kayaking is located , and we didn't manage to find it , and the path leads toward into the jungle (we cant find where it leads to , due to its too long ,and we head back )

Quiet place. A different view of the trees, being in the canopy top. It is sturdy and strong. Just a bit careful of moss, since this is a rainforest, high humidity.
Entrance fee for Malaysian RM 12, which is very reasonable considering there is a need for constant maintenance.
The gallery is also full of information of the walkway and some info of birds for avid birdwatchers.
