Sinaia Monastery is a 15th century Eastern Orthodox building located in Sinaia, Romania. The complex includes a museum, a church and a tomb. The monastery's architecture and interiors are truly stunning and worth a visit.
The monastery has a powerful spiritual energy. If you are a Christian it's a bit touching. Anyway I would recommend to go to see it even if you don't believe. The monastery has an excellent architectonic value. Keep in mind that the first photo is from the original monastery goes as back as 300 years! There are some activities to do. For example light 🕯️ a candle, pry 🙏, wash you face and drink holly water 💦.

There are actually 2 monasteries here, a really old one (tiny, but cool…) & a bigger one built hundreds of years later.
The museum was unfortunately closed when I came (Covid? Winter? Not sure…but maybe check ahead…), but the setting (gorgeous snow-covered mountains) & the monasteries themselves are certainly worth the visit.
Apparently built as a sort of “tribute” to the holy men who helped hide one of Transylvania’s exiled leaders while he was on the run. When he regained power, he funded the construction as a “thank you”.
Built on the site where one of the priests/ monks apparently had a holy vision. Interesting & historic spot!

Beautiful monastery and something I didn't really plan on seeing when visiting Sinaia (did a day trip from Braşov to see the Peleş Castle). If you are coming from the Sinaia train station, the bus that goes to Peleş castle also passes by this monastery. I highly recommend you stop by this place too, it's such a tranquil place with a small but pretty garden. I wasn't able to go to the museum though, it had closed by the time I visited. So I just saw the main church and grounds but enough for some beautiful photos!
Daryl Kayanan — Google review
It’s an unmissable visiting opportunity if you are in Sinaia. Mainly it’s about the old and new church, the tomb of Take Ionescu, Romanian PM after WWI, along with the old walls and ongoing enlargements of the court, park etc.
Octav V — Google review
It's a lovely monastery and there's parking right outside. It's also very near the castle so it's basically a 2 for 1.
Waving Tree Farm — Google review
A beautiful sacred place, to visit, to meditate, to find a few minute of peace of mind.
The sacred place where the Romanian Royal Family used to come to pray
Sorin Ciocan — Google review
Really quaint monastery with a few monks still present and working the courtyard gardens. The original, smaller church and the larger new one are both very interesting to look at in their own right to see how religious art has evolved and become more sophisticated in the past few hundred years
Chris Bowman — Google review
Rainy day didn’t help the place but it was calm
and tranquil. The frescoes are amazing, shane it was very dim inside the main church.

3 stars. And this is why: The interior is nice. But from start you have 2 beggers that will contact you when you go in and out. One of them surely was under drugs. If they bothered me, they will bother others also. Clearly somebody from administration knows they are there. Second, inside the monastetry there is a red cord that is ment to stop you to go further. When a church does that, is not a church. So you can do what i did, walk in, take photos where you like, feel sick and get out. Amin!
Octavian — Google review
Quiet place. You can visit inside the old monastery and surroundings. There is also a museum inside the church grounds.
Radu Gabriel Nastase — Google review
Skippable. Unless you’re here for a religious visit, the monastery doesn’t offer much as a tourist attraction. Peleş Castle is definitely a better use of your time in Sinaia. The monastery is much like other smaller monasteries in Bucharest with little description of its historical significance.
Manu Rathore — Google review
There is little information on site regarding the monastery and its function, ditto for the description of the various works inside, I suggest you equip yourself with an online guide so as to better appreciate the visit. don't ignore the excellently restored old church
Giuseppe Castello — Google review
In this place the God is more closer than u think. I ntimacy with God can happen right now if you want it. A closeness you can feel, a goodness you can taste, a reality you can experience for yourself.
Oana Roska — Google review
It's really place you see the history and beautiful buildings, new church and old church and museum And the grave of Ex Romanian President
The Galourious Determination — Google review
Historical and well maintained 16th century church. The sacred place is well-patronised by the locals. The church buildings are adorned in beautiful murals that tell biblical stories. Worth a visit especially if a practitioner of the faith. Easily accessible on foot from Sinaia town centre with road access to the front entrance.
Peres Castle is a neo-renaissance royal residence in Romania, located in the mountains of central Transylvania. Completed in 1873, it was commissioned by Romanias first king, Carol. Today it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Romania and features hundreds of paintings, sculptures and objets d'art.
A must see when in Romania. Magnificent Palace in the middle of wonderful nature.
Nice history as well (although shortly lived) and the decoration inside is brilliant. I liked the main hall with the great combination of marble, woodwork and carpeta. Also, the huge mirrors are pretty impressive for their time.
I only did the short tour (no extra rooms) but I think it was sufficient.
Nawras Taleb — Google review
A must-see for any Romanian or foreigner! The way the furniture was decorated/built shows how seriously the art of sculpture used to be taken. Props to the architects and carpenters! It's a marvelous building. Unique and breathtaking. It takes about an hour to visit the entire palace. Very nice staff, they let us visit the top floors despite being slightly late! Thank you for a memorable experience!!

As an architect I really adore this castle. Nearly every room embodies a different historical style, one could practically teach architectural history by touring it. The outside is gorgeous as well, with a well decorated garden and excellent mountain view. Strongly recommend.
Federico Chiavegati — Google review
The Castle is preserved in good condition.
Interiors are interesting and there are a lot of items to explore.
If you are visiting during a weekend or a public holiday prepare to spend a lot of time in a queue, even if you have bought tickets online in advance.
There are no guided tours as far as I know, only audio guides.

This is definitely the most amazing and castle in Romania. It's a must see if you visit this country.
It has a lot of beautiful details and furniture.
The downside is that some rooms are not open like the theater room which is amazing in pictures, and the fact that most descriptions are not translated in English and other languages
Traian Mihalache — Google review
A very disappointing experience.
After we bought a parking permit for 5 Euros and received no ticket or other proof of payment, we walked up to the castle. A long way with no resting places, no benches, or other possibilities to sit down and rest.
Outside the castle, in the surrounding area, some buildings are better looking than others. You can immediately see that the restaurants and cafes are somehow limited to price, offer, and space.
Positive: it is a national cultural treasure built by the Romanian nation, now re-owned by the former royal family who used to rule the country.
Negative: the administration of this place with all the sides and effects of such lousy management.
Suggestions: the entry ticket should include in the price the entire castle and not just a part. You have to pay more than double to visit the other sections, which is wrong.
Recommend: it depends! If you haven't visited it before, yes, you should see it. If you did, don't mess up your good memories.
Adrian S. Urdea — Google review
It is a magnificent Castle with its surrounding buildings and Garden. They charge a separate fee per floor to visit the castle. I'm warning you in advance. Don't waste money on the top floor (floor 2). I'm uploading the photos of all floors. Please check. The other two floors (I mean option 1 ticket) are more than enough. The castle closes at 17.00, but ticket sales end at about 16.00. Check out the photos I've uploaded regarding ticket prices and hours. Parking is 30 lei.

Seriously like a fairytale. Magical place to visit, if you can ignore the thousand tourists. Some really amazing pieces of memorabilia inside, and of course the castle and it's surrounding are just superb. The only reason for the one star deduction is the 50 Lei that we were charged for parking and the rude attendant charging it. Absolute scam
Jarrod Hunt — Google review
Wonderful and beautiful place. The territory is cleaned, there are many places for photos and in general the atmosphere is excellent. The castle itself is impeccable, the interior is richly and beautifully decorated. Beautiful furniture, chandeliers and mirrors. You can pay separately for visiting the first floor, or two, or the entire castle at once. Children really like this place. I hope to return.

Beautiful castle, outside and inside. Perfect location as well, natural place, nice promenade to the castle. Luxurious piece of architectural and historical jewlery. Be careful and leave the area before the night comes, as bears might appear, there is forest all around and brown bears sometimes come lured by the trash bins.
Deea Di — Google review
Beautiful place, with interesting story. But does not look like Romania, looks like Bavaria, but it worth visiting. From my point of view Bran’s Castle is better, it really looks like a medieval castle.

We visited with a group and a tour guide and we didn't regret it! The castle is truly amazing and it's definitely worth paying the ticket to see it from the inside! It was a great experience. everything has been preserved so well, it's impressive! I definitely recommend you visit it! Probably buy the ticket online if you're not with a group. We were there pretty early and also with a group so we didn't have to wait long, but I imagine already having a ticket will speed up the process !

One of the most beautiful castles I have ever been to. The king lived here in the beginning of the 20th century, and that really shows! The interior is worth a visit for sure - there are exquisitely preserved rooms, with a fantastic range of styles.

Great castle. Loved all the wood throughout and the mixture of cultures seen throughout the art and furniture pieces. Not a huge castle, can get done in 15-30min. I would recommend bringing a student ID card even if you're coming from overseas, the discount is a great deal.

The beauty and scenery of this place is truly breathtaking. Of course it was absolutely PACKED with people and so busy. It’s interesting to hear the history of this place and later grab a coffee (pricey) with the view of the castle.
Definitely worth going!

The Peleș Castle is truly awesome and makes for an amazing day trip when you're visiting Romania with your family. It's worth planning an entire day for this visit because there's so much to see and do.
First, you'll need to walk up for about 20 minutes, especially if you're unlucky and have to park your car farther down. However, this uphill walk through the forest on a cobblestone path is quite pleasant. Once you ascend, you can grab a snack like boiled or fried corn and apples in a sweet red syrup, so you don't need to worry about skipping lunch.
Pro tip: When you spot the castle, you can take a shortcut by crossing the grassy area leading to it. Not many people do this, but it saves you time, and you can overtake those following the predefined road. Upon reaching the castle, you should get your tickets, and they don't mind whether you purchased them online or not; everyone goes through the same line. The prices are 59 for the first floor, 100 for the second, and 150 for the third. We opted for the first and second floors, which proved to be more than sufficient. Consider bringing your student ID as it may get you a discount. The castle is stunning and incredibly interesting to explore, well worth the money. However, by the end of the second floor, you might start to feel a bit tired, and you'll notice similar things, so it's perfectly fine to stop there.
The castle's garden is also exceptionally beautiful and offers plenty of photo opportunities. Additionally, there's a souvenir shop on-site.
Pro tip:
• Make sure to use the shortcut to the castle
• See two first floors
• Bring your student card
• Wear comfortable shoes

A truly magnificent and picturesque location. The grounds are immaculately maintained, with ample photo opportunities and an overall enchanting ambiance. The castle itself is nothing short of resplendent, its interior adorned with opulent and exquisite décor. Exquisite furnishings, lavish chandeliers, and gleaming mirrors adorn the halls. Visitors can opt to explore either the first floor, both floors, or the entire castle at their leisure. Children will be particularly enchanted by this enchanting site. I eagerly anticipate returning to this gem.

Incredible castle. The detailed craftsmanship in each room is just astounding. I loved seeing the different styles in each room. We went with a guide and had limited time but if I went again I'd add on the optional second floor to see more. We also went to Pelisor, and recommend doing that - it can be seen quickly if you have limited time.

Peleș Castle is an architectural gem in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. Built in the neo-romantic style, this impressive castle exudes a beauty rarely seen. With its exceptional architecture and intricate details, Peleș Castle captivates you at first sight. Among the fascinating historical facts, it served as the summer residence of the kings of Romania and as a meeting place for famous personalities from around the world. Its construction began in 1873, commissioned by King Carol I, and was completed in 1914. I heard an interesting saying about King Carol I, that goes "The greatest Romanian was German".
Personally, I have never seen a castle quite as impressive. Every corner exudes a unique elegance, and its richly decorated interior transports you to another era. Peleș Castle is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful castles in the world and an unforgettable destination for anyone passionate about history and architecture.

Vulcanii Noroioși Pâclele Mari is a hidden gem in Romania, boasting small volcanoes created by mud and natural gas eruptions that lend it a lunar landscape. The reserve offers an interesting experience for a nominal fee of 1 euro, with plenty of opportunities for photography. Although there is no public transport available to the reserve, visitors can stay overnight at the nearby camping site.
What a place! Absolutely hidden gem of Romania. I went to see this place in October 2021 and I want to come back! Very local place, there is a camping next to it so you can stay overnight. Unfortunately not public transport, so I got a train from Bucharest to the closest town and then hitchhiked. Off the beaten path if you travel around Romania or do a city break in Bucharest

One of the best location from Romania. Mud Volcano 🌋 is special spot from Europe. The access is little hard but when you arrive there you will never regret. The deep of volcanic mud is 3 kilometres. I see this place from first time in my life and it was automatically nice.

Bring a cap and put on some sun lotion 😁 Nearby you have a place where you can eat traditional and healthy food. You have to pay at the entrance 4 lei for adults, there's free parking, there are magnets, honey and palinca.
Lilly Pad — Google review
Is it nice? Yes it is. However, as with so many places in Romania, it's quite a detour and the roads are bad. I can back with a punctured tire. So if you're in the area, by all means go. But don't go out of your way to get there.
Frank de Groot — Google review
This was such an amusing place to visit, and the surrounding countryside was breathtaking. The volcano was very strange, and not at all what I had imagined, but it’s so fun to walk around and it really seems like the kind of landscape that dinosaurs just walked out of. I really recommend a visit, just watch out cause the larger bubbles can splash you, one splashed my legs!

Of course it's beautiful. I like to imagine I'm walking on a dragon, and he will just stand up and start flying. It deserves 5 points for the beauty of it. There are numerous parking spaces on the spot and a restaurant close to it. There are public toilets installed.
What I dislike is that the access road is long, filled with holes and beggars. Much can be improved. If it were in another country, I'm sure it wouldn't look the same.
Karina Adriana — Google review
This place is good, but not as good as the volcanoes just a km or two south of here.
The mounds are big, but there’s far fewer vents and the area they’re over seems smaller.
The deep gullies on the west side are very cool, but do be careful if walking near them as the sides can crumble.
Prices are 4/2/1 RON pp and it’s possible to buy postcards at the ticket office here. Large car park opposite.
Mike RC — Google review
Interesting experience for a small fee, 1 euro. Can get crowded by afternoon the best time to visit is early morning or at sunset. Plenty of opportunity for photos.

Worth visiting while in Buzău. The entry ticket costs 4 RON with parking included in the price. You can find a lot of facts and information in the area written. Wouldn’t suggest to touch the mud as they are toxic.
??? — Google review
Went there on the 1st of May with my family.
The road leading there is ok, with some potholes and segments of the road that are gravel instead of tarmac.
There are some porta toilets right next to the parking lot, however they didn't seem to have been cleaned or emptied for that matter for some time, which made the smell pretty bad.
The volcanoes themselves are ok. There isn't that much to see there, to be honest, as you can see in my pics.
There's also a canteen-like restaurant, however we were disappointed to find out they're not taking any card payments, which is very frustrating, so we didn't buy anything.
This may be a good trip for a family or educational reasons, but for tourists we were left disappointed mostly due to lack of facilities.

On a road trip around Romania, I had the pleasure of exploring Vulcanii Noroioși Pâclele Mari, a lesser-known but absolutely fascinating natural site. Nestled in a tranquil countryside, this place is home to small mud volcanoes, a geological phenomenon that is both rare and intriguing.
I was captivated by the lunar-like landscape. The mud volcanoes, though small in size, created an otherworldly atmosphere. It was fascinating to watch as the mud bubbled and spewed from these natural structures, offering a glimpse into the dynamic processes taking place beneath the Earth's surface.
The site is well-organized, with clear signage and pathways that allow visitors to navigate the area safely while getting up close to the mud volcanoes. The surrounding landscape also offers some picturesque views of the Romanian countryside, perfect for those who appreciate both geology and scenic beauty.
Visitors should be prepared for a bit of a walk from the parking area to the volcanoes and wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can get muddy. Also, there aren't many facilities like cafes or restaurants nearby, so it's a good idea to bring water and snacks.
A fun fact about Vulcanii Noroioși Pâclele Mari, several scenes of the Netflix show "Django" were filmed there. As a matter of fact, the entire series was filmed in Romania.

After seeing the big volcanoes enjoyed the short hike up to the small volcanoes from the campsite. Didn't bother going up close to small ones as if a group of people spread out in front (even if only 6 or 7) they sort of ruin the experience & view (in my opinion). We could have waited 10 minutes to be the only ones, but it was similar to the mari volcanoes - so didn't bother. A neat natural phenomenon. Definitely worth it if you're in the area!

A unique and spectacular lunar-like landscape; due to the soil being very salty, there is no vegetation. The gas erupting is mainly methane so it's flammable, don't think about playing with fire around the craters.
This is a rare natural phenomenon, it's worth the trip.
Aurelia Ghenuche — Google review
I prefered the Mici ones at the south of the campsite. More diverse, more cones, bigger area, better for photos (no buildings in the background, easier to hide from other visitors). And not much smaller, despite the name. These Mari ones have one thing better, the few explanatory panels. Both have cold beer providers nearby.
Old Town Café is highly recommended to anyone who enjoys delectable salads and casseroles. The recent restoration has only enhanced the beauty of this place. Additionally, they have undergone a change in name and menu, now offering delicious Thai cuisine. It is definitely worth trying their excellent food at prices comparable to those found in the old town. The chef's culinary skills are exceptional, as evidenced by the mouthwatering soups and the exquisite duck served on a bed of vegetables.

(Translated by Google) A revelation: quiet, slightly in front of the market square, i.e. peaceful, without overcrowding compared to what's happening in the restaurants on the market square, and most importantly, delicious food for reasonable money, with a nice atmosphere and wonderful service. I was there twice during my stay in Zamosc, once alone because I was the only one hungry, the rest ate earlier in the pierogi shop, which I didn't like, and I ate salmon soup and pork chop with fries and salads, I left feeling as full as a meal and everything was fresh and delicious in a few days. again we were wondering what to eat and where, so I took my family to this particular restaurant, everyone left full, we didn't spend a fortune, it was delicious and nice, again I ate salmon soup, I really recommend it, it was a finger licking sensation, and the kids had chicken soup, spaghetti and pancakes, and my wife and everyone had dumplings with groats. satisfied and everyone liked it. If we are ever in Zamość again, we will definitely come for dinner. Greetings ladies from Old Town Cafe

Quite an impressive city hall. You can go up the stairs to take a better look at the Market Square which is rather colorful and cute and full of cafes. There is a tourist info center on the side of the building that will give you a lot of interesting info. You can also hear the musician playing from the upper part of the building at certain hours. The town itself is very nice and truly worth visiting. By the way, there are a lot of events organized at the Market Square

It is a large and imposing 16th century building with a richly decorated facade. The interior of the town hall is also impressive, with its high ceilings, grand staircase, and ornate chambers. The castle has been recently renovated and converted into a museum featuring displays about the life and times of the Radziwills. Inside, visitors can find beautifully restored interiors with over 120 items to learn about through an audioguide. The castle also houses an eatery and souvenir shop. Its reflection in an adjoining pond creates a magnificent sight similar to that of Disney's castles.

Interesting renovated castle in Belarus, good for a day trip. Kids will love the uneven steps and small passageways that take you to the top of the towers, older adults less so .
Good exhibitions on the history of the castle, including its time as a concentration camp for Jews who were almost all sadly massacred.
Rather bizarrely you can stay here overnight as a small hotel has opened in one small area. It certainly would be an experience, but one I am happy to miss :-)

This castle complex was by far my favorite tourist attraction in Belarus. It has been meticulously restored and the ticket covers entry to all aspects of the complex including the museum and cathedral. The signage was good and the personnel were friendly. The nearby Radziwill castle could learn about customer service from this castle. You could spend as much time as you like here and enjoy the beautiful parks surrounding the complex. I recommend at least one night in Mir to see the castle illuminated at night, at sunrise and at sunset. If I had known you can book a room in the castle I would have done that!

(Translated by Google) How could you not think so about visitors? The presence of a cafe on site is, of course, good, but who in their right mind would put a barrier in the form of a fee of 35 rubles just for entry? Do drivers have nowhere to spend time when they have to wait for several hours? Nothing to breathe but greed? The idea of moving the cafe outside the paid zone seems so obvious - people could relax, drink coffee, without worrying about having to fork out money because of it. But no, let's make it harder and squeeze some more money out of them, right? No, this is complete nonsense and a huge minus for the organizers. Think about people, not just your pocket!

Every year the complex becomes more and more interesting. Its main advantage is people: enthusiasts involved in their work, mini-guides in thematic sections (pharmacy, dressing shop, weaving, collegium, etc.). An amazing restaurant that offers the best flasks in Belarus in my opinion! Definitely "recommended" for tasting!!!
Of the minuses:
1) everything is as before - access roads !!!
2) a seller-guide in a cheese factory/bakery: yes, we are not the first time and we come here purposefully for kravt bread/goat cheese, and, perhaps, we are already recognized/remembered, but... still about one of the most interesting locations complex, you should say a few words, offer to taste the products, and not the ubiquitous principle "no naseru, no dzyakui ...

(Translated by Google) The place is interesting, a large well-kept area, many locations, the opportunity to buy souvenirs and have a snack. But work with groups of tourists is organized disgustingly. I consider the situation when a group arrives at the agreed time (!) and waits for the start of the excursion under the gate for 2-3 hours under the sun, in the dust in the middle of a field, where there is no opportunity to sit down, to be unacceptable. People sat down on the grass and stumps. They explained that more than 70 groups/buses arrived on one day, which is why there was such a long wait. Sorry, but if the capacity is not so great, if there are not enough guides, if you are not able to provide the stated services, then why do you sign up so many groups for one day? Thank you that there is at least a toilet outside the perimeter and the opportunity to buy water.
Last year we didn’t encounter such a problem, but yesterday’s trip discouraged us from visiting the park as part of a group. I advise you to take individual tickets without the services of a guide. Or take blankets with you so that you can sit down while waiting and not on bare grass. I also recommend taking alcohol and some snacks from home - prices there are 2 times higher.

The Island of Tears is a memorial located in the center of Visrochi, dedicated to fallen Belarusian soldiers who lost their lives during the war. It is an artificial island connected to the shore by a bridge, featuring long-standing monuments and a large bronze memorial. While I've been here, I felt sad , this place is a man made island attached to the historic Trinity district of Minsk by a footbridge, dedicated to the soldiers who perished in the conflict involving Soviet forces in Afghanistan .Built at the end of the war in 1988, the island's focal point is a small chapel surrounded by statues of those who were left to mourn the dead - widows, mothers, sisters. Inside the names of over 700 Belarusian soldiers who died in the war are inscribed. You'll also find a statue of a young guardian angel who continues to literally shed tears for those lost in violent conflict worldwide.

This is a memorial for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Soviet war with Afghanistan. The war lasted for nine years and the Soviets eventually lost. Hundreds of soldiers died in the skirmishes and this monument seeks to commemorate them. It is located on an island created in the Svislach river. The main structure here is shaped like a chapel and is open on all sides. Surrounding this monument are statues of women and children in mourning, said to represent the families of the soldiers who died. Inside the monument, the names of the martyrs are engraved in the walls. This is one of the few monuments in the world that was built in a country that lost the war commemorated by the structure. There is a statue of a crying guardian angel in the memorial complex that is said to be disheartened as it failed to protect the Belarusian soldiers. If you look closely, you will see water dripping down from the figure’s eyes into the pool below. Overall the atmosphere here is quite serious and nostalgic, but it is worth a visit to spend some quite time in Minsk.

One must see place in Minsk. A memorial for Belarussian soldiers who were died or hurt during Russian war with Afghanistan. It's a man-made island on the river, across Trinity Hill. There's a tiny chapel. The island can be visited free of charge.
The island is like a little park, with willow trees, flowers, greenery, and benches. Lovely.
It underwent a major renovation when we're there.
Keluarga Pelancong — Google review
In rememberance of the fallen soldiers, the wounded and the handicapped in Afghanistan this monument is erected in 1996. It started ten years ago as more than eight hundred Belarusian soldiers died in Afghanistan and the berieved mothers cry is symbolically represented here. On the niche of the stone boulder the icon of Blessed Mother Mary and Child Jesus is depicted. This island is artificially created in the Svisloch river. This is monument that cries for ending all armed conflicts.
The National Library of Republic of Belarus is a contemporary and distinctively designed library that boasts an extensive collection of books. Its unique building, shaped like a rhombocuboctahedron, stands at over 73 meters tall and features an observation platform accessible by panoramic elevator. Visitors can enjoy views through binoculars with 30x magnification.
Amazing visit to a cheap price. Great view of the city on a sunny Minsk day is incredible. Highly recommend

Although far from the city center, the library is an easy ride on the metro (even for someone who speaks no Belarusian, like me). It’s completely worth it, as around the back of the library you can pay to go up to the 35th floor to see the surrounding view of the city. Beautiful!!!

I would said nothing about place where is the library located . Because there is metro station just few hundred metres out. I wouldn't said nothing about how massive is the building . Because it's really big but looking nice ... Good luck !!

WWII museum with bunkers, trenches & Soviet tanks & fighter jets, plus immersive experiences.
This is undoubtedly one of the greatest museums and historical landmarks of The Great Patriotic War! Worth a visit for everyone if you happen to pass nearby.

A must-see even for non-history minded tourists.
Museum already rightfully glows in reviews. Ditto to that.
I'll add two specific points of appreciation that perhaps seldom get recognized.
First, HUGE thank you for English! Well-written, proper English. It's not an afterthought, it's a first-class citizen throughout, and that makes museum accessible to mainstream audience.
Second, thank you for so beautifully presenting less sexy, nuts & bolts hardware that doesn't usually get attention. Corrugated steel chambers, bridge layers, trench diggers, reinforced vehicle maintenance structures. And you don't just have these items sitting out back unlabeled, you've taken care to identify what they are and what they do. Wow.
One request next time placards are revamped: Please add year & location of manufacture if possible.
Thank you for so competently preserving this important history.

Amazing chance to visit a place of great historical importance where so many lives where sacrificed during WW2. You can also admire the best military technology of the Soviet era. An added touristy bonus is the possibility of firing (blanks) with some weapons and riding a tank!

A lot of stuff to see and touch for real, from bunker machine gun to turret to tanks, lots of tanks, radars, jets, helicopters. It is possible to fire blanks with AK, mosin, Maxim, dshk and even anti-tank. Autobus direct from the Minsk train station.

The unique historical and cultural complex of the Great Patriotic War. Be sure to come with the kids! Very interesting. You can take an excursion, which guides in the form of soldiers and officers from the Second World War will conduct for you. And you can bypass everything yourself. Fortifications remained - trenches, bunkers of those times, weapons from which, by the way, you can shoot for a nominal fee. There is also a technique of the post-war and Soviet period. On holidays, performances in the open. And in the local souvenir shop you can buy home souvenirs.

An unusual place.
It is difficult to describe the atmosphere and all the feelings when you are among these monuments of human cruelty. A special sensation is causing by the bells ringing for the deads.
At the same time there is some kind of harmony here.
This place is definitely worth a visit.
The entrance is free.
IVTALA — Google review
The first thing you need to do is go to the museum (kind of unnoticeable on the far left of the parking lot) and buy a $2 book that gives the history and significance of all of the memorials (book is in English and Russian). There is a museum that shows photos of past memorials and photos of construction of present ones. It also has stories and photos of survivors from Khatyn and other villages--only in Russian though.
The whole complex is very harrowing, but so worthwhile. Very well done in typical Soviet style (concrete).

The imposing 11th-century cathedral, marked by dual spires, boasts an impressive pipe organ. The centerpiece of attraction is the elaborate dome of the Saint Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk, showcasing masterful statues that exemplify exquisite craftsmanship. Conveniently located in the city's old town, this breathtaking place serves as a cultural heritage site with a rich history. The magnificent sound of the organ playing Bach adds to its allure.
If I'm to use one word alone to describe this place, that will be "breathtaking". I don't remember crying in a cathedral while travelling abroad before, because I see them as cultural heritage and that's it, but my God, the sound of the organ in this cathedral is magnificent. They played Bach, of course. There is so much history there, don't miss this place if you happen to be in Belarus.

The Svyato-Uspenskiy Kafedral'nyy Sobor is an enormous Orthodox church with a captivating backstory. It was constructed on the grounds where a Uniate bishop was tragically martyred, highlighting the remarkable transition from one religious establishment to another. From its square, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking city view. This magnificent temple boasts Belarus's largest bell, weighing 5.2 tons and standing at a height of 2 meters.

(Translated by Google) The grandiose cathedral is located on a hill, offering a beautiful view of the city and the confluence of two rivers. Built in 1743-1777 as a Uniate church. During construction, the Basilica of San Carlo al Corso in Rome was taken as a model. Since 1799 it has been an Orthodox cathedral. Blown up and destroyed to the ground in 1936 and completely restored from 2001 to 2011. There is a staircase leading from the embankment to the cathedral; there are many steps, but it is worth climbing. You can see a beautiful sunset

The museum showcases manuscripts, letters and portraits of the beloved poet and his family.

The Svyato-Troitskiy Kafedral'nyy Sobor is a stunning example of 17th-century Orthodox architecture, featuring an ornately decorated interior and a golden dome that can be seen from miles away. At the entrance we were given phones that told us more info after scanning at a given exposures which was really helpful (texts in Estonian, English, Russian, Finish and Latvian).
The architecture and the design of exposition was very interesting and interactive, however, the navigation in the museum was a little bit confusing and we got lost few times ( and I guess we did not see it all 😅)
The overall tour was great and you can also see beautiful views from there, worth to visit!

I was born in Narva, but I left Estonia when I was around 18 years old. So, it's been around 12 years since I saw Hermann (=Narva) Castle (the white tower)! It is the most beautiful place in Narva in my opinion. It stands on Narva River which divides Estonia and Russia. When I was a child, I remember that the Castle had extensive collection of artefacts and items from various periods of time to showcase the history of Narva and the castle itself. I also remember that it was quite hard to climb upstairs for me! However, when I visited castle now, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they got elevator! The exhibitions are now skillfully curated to show different moments of Narva's history. It was great to see physical objects, 3D animations of the life in the medieval Hermann castle, 2D story of how life has changed over many centuries, and old movies of Narva. I loved the views from the top of the Castle!
Apart from that, you can explore the yard of the Narva Castle, see various crafts displayed (you can buy them also), and gift shop. There are usually various craftspeople from Estonia and around the world in the summer time, but I missed them because there was preparation for a concert in the yard. I grabbed some traditional drink, kali (or kvass), which was poured in lovely mug. I had to drink it fast because I noticed swallows flying around, and I managed to photograph their chicks on the Castle's wall!
The area around the castle is lovely for a walk. You can pass it and see "clock" scupture, for example. There's lots of swallows and seagulls flying around. If you fancy to explore seaside city called Narva-Joesuu, you can go to the port near the Castle and catch Caroline.
Overall, if you have just a day in Narva, you definitely should visit this place. The history of Narva is really remarkable.

The Great Gatchina Palace is a palace in Gatchina, Leningrad Oblast, Russia. It was built from 1766 to 1781 by Antonio Rinaldi for Count Grigori Grigoryevich Orlov, who was a favourite of Catherine the Great, in Gatchina, a suburb of the royal capital Saint Petersburg. The Gatchina Palace combines classical architecture and themes of a medieval castle with ornate interiors typical of Russian classicism, located on a hill in central Gatchina next to Lake Serebryany. The Gatchina Palace became one of the favourite residences of the Russian Imperial Family, and during the 19th century was an important site of Russian politics. Since the February Revolution in 1917 it has been a museum and public park, and received UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1990.

Empress gave this palace to her lover who killed her husband, the emperor. When lover died she gave the palace to her son, who hated her and loved his killed Emperor father. Son became the emperor himself and build a brand new palace-castle where he was killed by his men.
Do you still need the GoT if you have real history of Russian Empire?

A very beautiful place. A bit underrated. Tourists skip this destination.
Dvortsovyy Park is an extensive lakefront recreational area that showcases lush botanical gardens, a charming amphitheater, and sprawling grass lawns perfect for picnics. The park boasts an array of plant life, including vibrant daffodils blooming in the bushes. Although some areas may have been under reconstruction during visits, the overall beauty and tranquility of the park remain intact. Visitors can also enjoy boat rides on the serene lake.
Absolutely love the park. Been there twice with 1.5 years interval and both visits revived my mind and body. Royal landscape designers did know how to do their job.

(Translated by Google) The park is beautiful. We spent several hours in it, not the first time, and not the last. We live nearby. But! I was surprised by the uncut, even neglected lawn, with bald patches of dandelions. I’m not talking about the lawn throughout the park, but where it usually was ideally. The park is not friendly to visitors. Entrance is 150 rubles and there are also paid toilets. 30 rubles each. The toilets themselves are not ideal; there is not much water in the tap or paper to wipe your hands. In a cafe where I bought tea and coffee several times, the saleswoman literally told everyone, why are there so many of you... And this was on Saturday, when in reality there were not many people. Ducks, swans, carps, pigeons and mice are beautiful.

(Translated by Google) Nice beautiful park. A great place to take a walk with children. The park is quite clean. The area is large, so it will take a whole day to get around it. The Gatchina Palace itself is also very beautiful - it’s worth visiting. And be sure to visit your own garden. Huge carps swim in the Carp Pond) In the park there are tame squirrels - they run up to get the nuts themselves. The only negative is that admission is usually free, but on children’s day they made it paid, thank you for at least letting the children in just like that. Well, the lake is not cleaned - it’s dirty. I understand that money is needed to maintain the park; perhaps the management should think about paying a minimum entrance fee on weekends (as in the Central Park of Culture and Culture), and not on Children’s Day.

(Translated by Google) The park is beautiful, but when we were there, many locations were under reconstruction. We wanted to visit the palace, but the website says verbatim - You can take an excursion to the palace without excursion service 👀👀👀.
And so, everything is clean, cozy, I really liked the grass clearing and the daffodils blooming in the bushes).

(Translated by Google) The landscape is very beautiful, ancient oak trees and ponds are impressive. But! There are very few benches, you still need to look. Probably all the money went to the rolled lawn, as indicated by the signs under every tree. Accordingly, you cannot walk on the lawns. It’s impossible to even stand up to draw and choose a favorable angle. Disappointed.

(Translated by Google) very beautiful park. It’s a pity that it is being restored slowly. Much was destroyed during the war. I think this is the most beautiful park in our suburbs.

The Menshikovskiy Dvorets is a large palace and park complex in the suburbs of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was originally built between 1714 and 1730 for Field Marshal VI Ivan Muscovite Menshikov, one of the most powerful men of his age. The palace now houses the Museum of Russian Art and contains several art galleries, as well as an extensive collection of sculpture.
Im Vergleich zu anderen Vororten weniger interessant. Dennoch besuchenswert.
