Arboretum
Nature & Parks
Arboretum from the 1800s featuring formal landscaping & lakes with waterfalls & fountains.
Incredible please is really worth seeing. There are many forests, lakes and fountains there. You can take a boat and swim in the lakes. Moreover there are some caves and if you want you can have an excursion underground. Next to the park there is a hotel you can stay there. The best time to visit is spring and summer.

Great place for all family members to be all day. Strongly recommend to book a tour and only for you and your family! After some time you will understand that you are not interested in making a few photos, because you listen only stories.

Historical Arboretum with more than 2000 local and exotic plants. Fair entrance fee (100 UAH for adults, so ca. 3€). Really worth to visit!

Most beautiful park I visited so far. Includes more than 200 types of roases, inumerous species of shrubs, trees and other plants, statues of greek gods and philosophers, drinkable water fountains, and great views! Expect to be there exploring for at least 3 hours to get to know the main spots, as it's a really big park. Definetly coming back there once I have another opportunity.

Great park. Get a map to make sure you see everything. Good for 4-6 hours especially if you rent boats or bring a picnic.
The underground river boat ride was nice.

Very beautiful arboretum! The better time for visiting is early morning at 9.00 am when nobody there and enjoy the amazing nature and silence

Park is beautiful, there may not be many attraction, but just walking between old trees already a good one. Entrance is not free, but it was cheap. My favorite part is oak's woods. And as for me the best attraction is underground river, excursion is on Russian/Ukrainian but you can find everything online.
Imposing, well-preserved 16th-c. Ottoman fortress with walkable ramparts & several museums.
This has been massively renovated the last 10 years and it is worth seeing the photos near the entrance to see the before and after. It is now shiny and new. You can walk outside grounds and gardens but to get into the fortress you pay 50 to get in. There is a few museums inside including a torture museum.
Robert Cooke — Google review
We liked this place and the surroundings, but haven't been inside. There's a gravel track around the fortress and at the end, there's a nice river. From here, the view is a beautiful one as well.

Unlike Chisinau, where for the first time it felt like I was trying desperately to find something to take a picture of, Transnistria, with all its monuments seemed more interested in welcoming foreigners, which is logical, considering that this part of Moldawian territory tried to secede from the rest of Moldowa and identifies itself more with Russia. We had a tour guide who showed us some of the most important landmarks and monuments of Transnistria. Of course, this tour would not be complete without visiting Bender and its fortress in particular. Although they were almost ready to close, they still allowedus to enter. The only downside was that they did not have any English or German speaking tour guides and I could not speak any Russian at that time. Luckily, my travel companion was Russian, so I could still understand at least some of the insights the tour guide gave us.

Beautiful and very interesting castle located in Bender, Transnistria. There is a lot of fortifications where there is a lot of fortification, it is very interesting and beautiful, the only thing is not to walk in places with a high troy and where there are no people - there are a lot of ticks.
Максим Ивонин — Google review
History that's old as well as modern industry all together :) surprised about how well preserved are some parts of the citadel, while Russian militia is protecting it from going to ruin. Too bad a while back some guys built some industrial barracks on citadel's walls. Nice views from the walls. If not from Transnistria, a big tax for using their roads infrastructure and prepare to spend 1h at the border control.
Dragos Grosu — Google review
What a wonderful fortress with a Baron von Munchhausen connection. Walls, towers, cannons, Moldavian militiamen practising their riot techniques, what more could you want? The fortress is in good condition and all the walls can be walked along safely.

Oh what a beautiful and peaceful place. The air is so relaxing and the birds sing in tour ears. I think Autumn is the best time to visit. The colored leaves make the experience even more exceptional. I love this place. You can rent bicycles and and electric scooters at the gate.

Incredibly beautiful park, especially in the autumn, during the Indian summer. Very big, one of the largest (if not the the largest) parks in Ukraine, so if plan to visit it and to see every of its corners, be ready spend all your day on it (the park is open till 10 PM, but it lacks the lighting, so don't stay there till it gets dark). There are many buses connecting Kyiv and Bila Tserkva (departing from central railway station and Lybidska Kyiv Metro station), some of them go directly to the park. Entry tickets are valid for a day and are bought at the entrance.

A very beautiful fountain with a fantastic evening light show that features fairy-tale story segments. Frankly, the graphics and storytelling of the fairy-tale aren't very impressive — however, the light show itself is mesmerisingly beautiful and definitely deserves your time of day. It's a good spot to visit with kids and family members. However, note that the show tends to attract a large crowd — so it'd be a good idea to bring your masks or try to find a spot where you can watch it from a distance. Overall we've had a great experience watching the show, and recommend to come see it at least once :)

(Translated by Google) In the year of its opening, the Roshen fountain was perceived as a miracle, which in its steepness could only be compared to the creation of the world by God.
In fact, the abandoned and barely cleaned embankment came to life and turned into a place of pilgrimage for people from all over Ukraine and beyond!
I remember the first time I was waiting for the show and was somewhere in the sixth-seventh row from the fence) there was nothing to speak of about seats in the stands: people lived on dry rations for three days and then on Day X occupied the best view seats at 7 in the morning.
Over time, the fountain's glory has passed for both Vinnytsia and Ukrainians. Today it is a modern walking area, which adds comfort, but no longer arouses such admiration. And the fountain itself often turns into an agitation platform :)

(Translated by Google) There were still when the Fountains and shows were working. To be honest, at one time, it’s only impressive for the first few minutes, and then it just feels like a projector out of water. And the show about baobabs itself was not interesting, I hope after the war the repertoire will be changed)). But of course this is a calling card, so you can come in.
(Original)
The Sergei Pavlovich Korolyov Museum of Cosmonautics offers a variety of exhibits including space suits, gadgets, and satellites, as well as films and lectures. It is located in the town of Zhytomyr and provides visitors with an impressive insight into the history of the Soviet Cosmology program. The museum emphasizes Ukraine's crucial role in the development of the space program and its ability to provide design for NASA and the European Space Agency.
We we're visiting this place as part of our visit to the town of Zhytomyr. Mayor of Zhytomyr invited us for business visit and we olbliged. We had very qualified guide for one hour tour . What a gem! Made a detour of several hundred kilometres to visit this place and were nearly denied entry due to early closure on independence day. Fortunately the kind staff showed sympathy and let us in on the condition we were quiet and didn't disturb the talk on mushrooms (?!) being given in the museum. Thank you! Loads of very cool stuff including a real Soyuz reentry capsule that successfully made the trip...

It's great. Lots of animals and shops everywhere. Very acessable too
Sofia Sho — Google review
It's a beautiful little zoo which is built into the woods. That's why you feel the connection to nature and the animals are a little more in their natural habitat.
There are quite many different animals, but generally the space for each animal could be bigger.
Also to go into the very small terrarium you have to pay extra and enter through separate entrance. The terrarium's animals really have only little space, e.G. snakes which only barely fit in their cage. Therefore one star less.
Additionally there is a little playground for children to play, with attractions. The use of the playground is included in the base price, but the attractions again cost extra.
Tl;Dr;
All in all a nice zoo with many different animals and a nice atmosphere. Children will have a good time here, due to a nice playground and the connection to nature.

Visited August 2017. I'm not a fan of Zoo's in any country and this is no exception. I dislike the small cages/confines the animals are kept in. That said, this is slightly better than other zoo's I have been to in Ukraine. It seemed cleaner and less smelly. Nice cafe, good seating placed within so you can take a short break if required. This is a place to take the kids.

Large park with lot of space for animals thus providing more comfortable conditions for keeping. Good variety of species, and terrarium area provides access not only to reptiles and insects but to some specific mammals like bats, fennec fox, armadillo, etc. So consider it as a must see addition. The park itself is a good place for family visits. Large recreation area alows to plan even picnic weekends.

(Translated by Google) A true gem of the glorious hero city of Ternopil. Why is this lake so great? Firstly, it fits extremely harmoniously into the urban appearance of the city. Secondly, there are very few such landscapes (a lake in the center of the city) around the world. And in Europe it is only Geneva. Thirdly, there is a huge selection of ways to relax, which the lake gives to Ternopolyans - walks or runs along the beautiful embankment, sunbathing or swimming on two beaches. Fourth, enjoy food and drinks in several excellent restaurants and bars right on the coast. Fifth - boat trips with extremely beautiful views. Sixth - fishing. Seventh - sports and entertainment on the water.

Castle with 16th- to 18th-century Ukrainian icons & other painting, sculpture, furniture & tapestry.
The castle is not very large and fascinating, but still, there are some things to see. It is kept well and the entrance fee is low. It is surrounded by a beautiful Park, where you can stroll and relax. It is good to go there for a couple of hours, as it is not far from Lviv. The territory of the complex isn't crowded even on weekends.

Great views from the wall and windows instead. Some very interesting artwork inside although none of the art is original to the castle, but it is the oldest castle in Ukraine and has seen it's share of conflicts and tragedies, like a large earthquake in the 1800's so you can't expect perfection.
The restaurant serves great traditional food and the staff were very friendly.

Paweł Kubalewski — Google review
Since the 1500s, Lviv’s most prominent figures have been laid to rest at this 40-hectare cemetery that has now been recognised as a national reserve.
Lychakiv Cemetery is the equivalent to Père Lachaise or Highgate and is treasured not just for its prestigious burials but the quality of the art that commemorates them.
Laid to rest here are Polish and Ukrainian members of the clergy, politicians, military leaders, scientists, architects (like Zygmunt Gorgolewski), soloists, aviators, surgeons and painters.
For Poles the cemetery is poignant as the burial place of the Lwów Eaglets, young militia members who were killed during the Polish-Ukrainian War in 1918-1919.

The church is a beautiful and peaceful place with an impressive history. It was originally built in 1378, but underwent a number of renovations during Soviet rule. After Ukraine gained independence, the church became the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
This is an amazing church, you can feel the power of God. When you walk in, your eyes have to process the splendor. In combination with the silence it gives you goosebumps…

The architecture of the building is beautiful. Impressive is this construction of the former Dominican Cathedral.
This is one of the visiting cards of the cultural capital of Ukraine.
External and internal design is collected in a unique ensemble.
The church is built in the late Baroque style on the Western European model. Stone, in plan it depicts an elongated cross with an oval central part and two bell towers on the sides. The church is glorified by a huge elliptical dome. Massive double columns support galleries and lodges decorated with wooden statues by Lviv sculptors of the second half of the 18th century. Above the galleries are drum columns supporting the dome. Under the bath of the church is a quotation in Latin from the First Epistle to Timothy: "Soli Deo honor et gloria" ("Honor and praise to the One God"). I recommend to visit.

Very beautiful! It is like a forest inside the city. I suspect it was a really forest in the past. A lot of squirrels, that you might to feed. Very green, clean and fresh air!

Totally wasted place. It cries for renovation at least for last 20 years. It's a shame to have central park of major tourist site in such a disastrous state.
Most of the park trails have asphalt remains, that remember iron boot of soviet regime. You simply cannot pass there with baby stroller, on a scooter or wheelchair for that matter. Stilleto shoes are also not an option. Funny enough some of such trails has signs for Nordic walking.
There's no public restroom of any kind — at least i could not find any or even a sign to it. But there's plenty of... hm... indication of lack of WC under some trees and bushes.
Small and abandoned stream runs through the park, carrying foul smell. But there's small puddle-like pond with couple duck, if you're into that kind of thing.
Bottom half of the park actually has some renovation happened but nothing impressive or even worth mentioning.
Summary: awful place, shame of local government and business, not worthy of visiting, but you probably will, bc there's nowhere to go for a walk in the town anyway

I love this place! It's a beautiful, spectacular, green Park and it has numerous paths for hiking.
Zamosc is very old city and its City Hall as well which was built at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries according to Bernardo Morando’s design.

Quite an impressive city hall. You can go up the stairs to take a better look at the Market Square which is rather colorful and cute and full of cafes. There is a tourist info center on the side of the building that will give you a lot of interesting info. You can also hear the musician playing from the upper part of the building at certain hours. The town itself is very nice and truly worth visiting. By the way, there are a lot of events organized at the Market Square

Zamość Town Hall is a beautiful and well-preserved Renaissance town hall. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the town. It is a large and imposing 16th century building with a richly decorated facade. The interior of the town hall is also impressive, with its high ceilings, grand staircase, and ornate chambers. The beautiful murals and frescoes on the walls are quite impressive. I highly recommend visiting this gem!

Old Town Café is highly recommended to anyone who enjoys delectable salads and casseroles. The recent restoration has only enhanced the beauty of this place. Additionally, they have undergone a change in name and menu, now offering delicious Thai cuisine. It is definitely worth trying their excellent food at prices comparable to those found in the old town. The chef's culinary skills are exceptional, as evidenced by the mouthwatering soups and the exquisite duck served on a bed of vegetables.
Very tasty, home-style food at attractive prices

(Translated by Google) A revelation: quiet, slightly in front of the market square, i.e. peaceful, without overcrowding compared to what's happening in the restaurants on the market square, and most importantly, delicious food for reasonable money, with a nice atmosphere and wonderful service. I was there twice during my stay in Zamosc, once alone because I was the only one hungry, the rest ate earlier in the pierogi shop, which I didn't like, and I ate salmon soup and pork chop with fries and salads, I left feeling as full as a meal and everything was fresh and delicious in a few days. again we were wondering what to eat and where, so I took my family to this particular restaurant, everyone left full, we didn't spend a fortune, it was delicious and nice, again I ate salmon soup, I really recommend it, it was a finger licking sensation, and the kids had chicken soup, spaghetti and pancakes, and my wife and everyone had dumplings with groats. satisfied and everyone liked it. If we are ever in Zamość again, we will definitely come for dinner. Greetings ladies from Old Town Cafe

Excellent place to calm down. Great views, raw nature. The mountains are not very high so you can enjoy it even if you are not a highlander type. The people are very helpful and friendly. You can always find great restaurants with cold beer and tasty regional food at down the mountains. There are plenty of agroturistic location's where you can stay at night. Also hostels, hotels and safe places.

It seems to have everything you need. Cons - it's a bit loud, but that's normal, because it's in the center. The biggest minus - there was no bed for the sofa and the child had to sleep with us, and the bed is not very big and strong. Also, the door to the toilet does not close and all the doors are a bit old

A very relaxing train ride, about 45 mins long. The train stops at the end and you get half an hour to walk in the forest (and cross over to Slovakia), have a hot drink / snack from one of the stalls, or visit a Slovakian shop (try the Studencka chocolate :-) ). An absolute must for Beksiński fans. A large portion of its best pieces are here, along with the entirety of his varsovian studio. The museum is a bit weird as prehistoric remains, sacred icons and modern paintings are shown together with Beksiński operas, making for an unsettling switching from a period of art to another.
It is possible to skip any parts so if you just want to see Beksiński paintings, studio and photographers, you can.

The area educates you on the buildings of our ancestors from around the world. Allowing you to look inside and even speak to more knowledgeable people especially with the mountain rescue building.

Marcin F — Google review
I love coming back to this castle. It's one of the most beautiful ones I've been to in Poland. This time I came with my friend from abroad so they could see this cool place. Unfortunately, we have been split - they went with the English group and I had to stay behind for the Polish one. That prevented me from telling him all the interesting facts I learned during school trips or answer their questions regarding Polish historical contexts. Moreover, the audio guide was played in the actual rooms not on headphones, which in big rooms like long corridors and the ballroom was hard to hear due to the distance and bad acoustics. Unfortunately, I found the staff to rush the groups through the rooms, not allowing for closer inspection of wonderful works of arts scattered around the castle. In the coachhouse, the member of staff also patronisingly was telling me which coaches to look at, even if I was visibly interested in the ones not described by the audio guide, as if being interested in something else than what you're being told was something bad.
I find those changes to negatively impact the experience, which I remember much much more fondly when the audio guide was in headphones, groups weren't rushed nor divided, and you could spend as much time as you wanted admiring the furniture, design and the works of art. I also wish all the paintings and sculptures had little plaques with the name and the author, in case you like something so much and want to look it up online afterwards.
Dominick Haider — Google review
Great park and palace to visit, with friends and family. There is huge English park around with a lake, and close to the palace there is smaller Italian garden with fountains and flowers. Palace is well maintained. One big minus it is hard to get in. At May holidays they said that all tickets sold out to see the exhibition inside of the palace. And on the website I couldn't find an option to buy online. That was very upsetting as we came from far. And tickets are for a certain hour, eventhought they said 20 visitors per 10 min, till closing there were no spare spots. In this case we could just enter the Italian garden for 2 zł per person, and Orchid garden, for 10 zł, which actually is super small as part of it close se for visiting. This part I would not repeat. Recommendation is to find a way to buy ticket earlier.
Olga Klein — Google review
A very beautiful palace. If you are nearby, you can spend a day at this picturesque location. Sightseeing tours available in English. Visit the website to find out before visiting about guided tours. Extensive grounds, very large palace, cheap entrance fees. The guide was very competent, interesting and funny. It's best to visit it on warmer days. There is a cafe / restaurant and gift shop on site.

Lovely place I visited by accident. Absolutely not planned affair resulted in wonderful time spent walking in the shadows of very old trees and enjoying views. Entrance to internal gardens is not free, but the fee is minimal. There is a cafe inside, so you can get refreshment drinks or some basic dishes. Couple of hours of great time is guaranteed, strongly advised.

Definitely worth seeing the castle and outbuildings however I would suggest offering visitors their individual headsets with audio guiding so they can tour in their own pace

This must be on your time-line when in Łańcut or in nearby area. Fully recommended this attraction. Interiors of the castle are really nicely finished and renovated. Some of the rooms are original since few ages.

A beautiful Renaissance castle located in this small town. The castle is surrounded by a moat and a park, and the exterior is very well-maintained. The castle is furnished with original furniture and artwork, and it feels like stepping back in time. The gardens are also very well-maintained and there are a number of sculptures and fountains to admire.
The Rynek miejski w Rzeszowie, a charming square in the heart of the city, is surrounded by bars and cafes. It hosts an annual holiday market and various other events throughout the year. The Town Hall, resembling a small castle from a fairy tale, adds to its picturesque appeal. This old town market square shares similarities with Lviv's square and offers a delightful atmosphere with numerous restaurants and bars. Notable features include statues, a unique monument, and even a playable piano.

History of Market Square in Rzeszów dates back to the 15th century but the current look of the market is much different from its original form. It is the result of a great fire which broke out in the 19th century. No matter what it is nowadays beautiful as well especially during early morning or evening.

Krzyżtopór Castle
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Expansive, ruined, 17th-century, fortified castle, built in the Italian palazzo style.
A ruins of Krzyztopor castle is another must go venue to go and learn, enjoy and appreciate history. There is a car park nearby for your convinience, trails are easy marked, you cand spend a good few hours walking and exploring. We certainly enjoyed every minute ate the place for sure.

Beautiful castle. It has a real "castle" vibe with it's dungeon and medieval music at some points. I loved it, totally worth visiting. There's free parking as well.

Best castle ruins I've visited in a long time, 5 marked trails to take you around the castle. Beautiful scenery and historic location is definitely my cup of tea!

Quite interesting place. The fact it's not restored is rather positive as it creates the atmosphere

This is incredible ruins of castle, once being majestic. You can feel the power being here, taking look in every crevice and hall, even basement.
When visiting in windy weather make sure to wear a jacket because wind rushes through the open aisles and halls making harsh streams of cold air.
They have small restaurant inside, where someone can have warm coffe with something sweet

Amazing place to visit, it would be 5 stars if it had more information about the castles history in English. The opening times are really good usually museums close around 17.00 to 18.00 but this one is closes at 20.00. The visit took us a little over 2 hours There is lot to see and I would recommend visiting the castleruins

Quite an impressive castle, in ruin, but well preserved. Many accesses to various areas. Audio guide available. Recommend to have a look if you're nearby.

Great place for families and all others who like to visit old castles. It is well preserved and from year to year more parts are restored. There is also a lot of space for picnic.

Great little caste to walk around and have some souvenirs and nice coffee in the cafeteria. 13 zloty is the normal ticket for adults. Worth to be outside and have walk around the castle, nice place nothing extremely special worth to stop.

We touch the traces of history from the ruins of the castle. The Polish nobles had a great dream more than 300 years ago. He built his castle in time. Including four buildings in the year. 12 rooms about 12 months , 365 windows because there are 365 days in a year. It's wonderful!
Ruins of a hilltop 13th to 14th–century castle with remaining towers & walls & Tatra Mountain views.
The castle is an amazing piece of history, views from the towers are spectacular. The staff was dressed in old world clothing, which took you back in time even for just a moment.
There is a long walk from parking and up and down many stairs in the castle. So older handicap may not enjoy. But for all others it is well worth a day of fun.
Make sure to exit out the castle not the way you came in. Out the back and down the hill are statues of all the past kings.

the environment is very quiet and peaceful if you visit in the morning. there were a lot of tourist buses driving in while we were leaving. there is a nice cafe/restaurant down the hill which offers delicious food. free parking is available.
prepare for some uphill walking and the stairs. but the view is worth it 🙃

A beautiful ruined castle located on the top of a limestone ridge overlooking the Świętokrzyskie mountains. A spectacular place to visit, two towers are climbable with great views, and parking is easy at the foot of the hill.

The castle is an old medieval fortress that served also as a residence for Polish monarchs. It hasn't been inhabited for a few centuries but has nevertheless kept most of its walls. It doesn't have to offer any fancy interior but has a very nice view, given it stands on top of a lonely rock on a relatively plain terrain. Multiple souvenir shops have very inexpensive though quality stuff to buy. There is a parking almost on the very top from which the castle is about five minutes to walk. The uphill isn't too steep.

Site of my childhood travels in the 90s is now revitalized and renovated for tourists, definitely change for the better. In the castle from early XIV century, preserved as a ruin, you can visit 2 towers (view from castle hill is quite beautiful), small trasury and dungeon, embankements filed with items of exposition. Tourist coverage is mostly targeted at children and casual travellers, rather than medieval history buffs, but they can find something to their liking as well. QR-code based guidance is available in Polish and English. Neighboring tourist infrastructure is also developing. A lot of progress has been made by local Chęciny Community to preserve this important heritage site despite limited funds.

Lovely castle, well worth visiting. You can scan QR codes located throughout the castle to listen about its history (incl. English). Not suitable for prams - quite a lot of stairs.

Very cool castle. This is one of those hidden gems that you find in Poland. You will park in the parking lot pretty far down below. There's a little bit of a hike to get to the castle from the parking lot but it is a beautiful Forest and Trail. Once you get up to the top there's an entrance and you will pay the fee to get in. There are two towers that you can climb all the way to the top and get a panoramic view of the whole Countryside. My recommendation is to take the tallest one and just go up that one because the views are pretty similar. There are all types of things to see and to visit once you are in the main part and I just think that this place is beautiful.

Very nice place, a reconstructed castle with many attractions and places to take pictures. Lots of informative signs. Be prepared for an abundance of steep steps, especially to the top of the round tower. The view is amazing

One of our favorite places to visit! The kids love this castle everyone we go. We loved getting to see and try on real helmets and shields of the past. Beautiful views of the surrounding area

We loved the castle! 700 or more years old it has been recently renovated. Park at the bottom and take the steps or path up. There are benches if you get tired. Fantastic views from the towers and fun wooden statutes on the path. There are history notes on each that can be read by your phone. This is a hands on fun must see. Short drive from major highway.
