The Fürstenzug (Prince's Procession) is a large porcelain mural in Dresden, Germany. It tells the history of Saxon rulers throughout the ages.
One of the best places to visit in Dresden. Also if you want to catch the moment you need to wait.

Truly a spectacle. 🌟 The intricate details behind this artwork is enough to stop you in your tracks and simply appreciate the workmanship for a good 20-30 mins. 🙌🏼
Plenty of tourists typically walk along this street, so don't waste an opportunity to get a clear photo when there's nobody around! 📸

Wonderful mural but it would be best to visit it with a guide since there is a lot of history depicted there which you could entirely miss otherwise.

Absolutely stunning artwork. Definitely must see place in Dresden!!

Loved it! It is the best and at the same time simplest way to enjoy the history in Dresden. Walk through the history of Saxon simply by walking by this piece of art.
I cannot put it into words how interesting it was, especially if somebody plays some nice music in the background.
It's also located at the heart of Dresden with very easy accessibility to a lot of restaurants and Frauenkirche.
It'd be great to take a walk in the area every morning and have a headstart every day.

The fact that something this impressive just casually exists in the center of Dresden is just incredible. Fürstenzug is absolutely a must-visit in this city - luckily, you don’t have to travel out of your way to see it. It is located right in the center of town, near many other famous sights in the city. If you visit in wintertime (like I did), you’ll find half a dozen Christmas markets within 5-10 minutes walking distance from Fürstenzug. It is an amazingly intricate and beautiful mural that puts pretty much any others I’ve ever seen to shame! Check this out next time you’re in Dresden - you will be amazed!

This Procession of Princes dates from the 1870's and it is a mural showing all the rulers of Saxony. It can be reached in about 15 minutes if you walk from the Main Train Station. A must!

Reigning Monarchs from 1127-1873. This is portrayed outside of palace wall in Dresden and painted on porcelain. This porcelain was the only thing that withstood the burning heat from 1945 allied bombings

A beautiful wall, completely painted with the story of the Saxon princess back from 1870s. Very detailed and marvellous art work full with history. A must visit if you are in the area. This can be combined with Dresden palace and the famous Frauenkirche.

As a woman who recently had the opportunity to admire the "Procession of the Princes" mural, I must say that it was an unforgettable experience. This stunning work of art, stretching over an impressive 102 meters, masterfully captures the history and grandeur of the Saxon rulers. The intricate details and vivid colors of the porcelain tiles create an awe-inspiring visual journey through the centuries. Standing before this magnificent piece, I felt deeply connected to the past and gained a newfound appreciation for the craftsmanship and artistic talent that went into creating such a monumental masterpiece. The "Procession of the Princes" is undoubtedly a must-see for anyone interested in the rich cultural heritage of Saxony.
The Frauenkirche Dresdens rebuilt after World War II is a stunning example of baroque architecture and offers guided tours. Bach played an inaugural organ concert in 1736, and the church dedicates many concerts to his music.
A unique, magnificent view of Dresden that takes the tiredness of climbing up individual steps and narrow corridors to that church. To be loved, to be admired. This baroque style church, which remained a war memorial for fifty years, fascinates with its magnificence.

The Frauenkirche in Dresden is a beautiful church. This impressive building is very beautiful to look at from the outside and inside. We even had a guided tour with interesting information and backgrounds
The city that suffered the most from the destruction of World War II, demonstrates the strength of reconstruction and its beauties!

Like all buildings from Dresden, this wonderful cathedral has been completely rebuilded and finished 60 years after the bombing from '45. The baroque style respect every details from the old cathedral and it looks gorgeous. Do not miss to get inside, it is overwhelming.

The Church of “Our Lady”, which withstood the cannon shots of the Prussians, as well as the air raid of the British army. It fell only due to the melting of the sandstone by fire, rebuilt. Incredible work

Beautiful church to visit. Cost is free to go into the church. You can ascend to the dome for 10 euro. Well worth it. 70 meters high (221 ft) to viewing area. I counted 304 stairs descent with 300 meters of spiral climb (non steps)

We visited the nearby bridge to witness the colourful new year celebrations. If you don’t eyewitness it you won’t be able to feel the ambience as well. Few photographs have been captured to have a look later, however, which is not sufficient, I believe.

Beautiful church in Dresden. Rebuilt after WWII. Stunning on both the outside and inside. The altar is amazing and so is the Dome.

Beautiful church in the baroque style with some elements of rococo. As of 2024, it’s 10 euros to go up and it’s definitely worth it.

What a marvelous church and rich history that comes with it. It was bombed and destroyed during WW2 by ally forces and left in ruin during the communist rules. Then, the church was rebuilt in 8the 1990s and stands firm as a witness of history.
The lady staff holding an album of the historical photos near the front area was extremely helpful by explaining its history to visitors. Highly recommended!

A beautiful church located in the middle of Dresden's old city centre. It's a must-see when you visit Dresden. The church was heavily destroyed during World War II but has been beautifully reconstructed. Admission to the church is free of charge. The interior is also breathtaking.

Iconic and historically significant, the church feels light and cheerful. I visited for a baroque music concert and enjoyed the acoustic and atmosphere.
Located on the remains of the ancient city fortifications, Bruhls Terrace offers lovely views of Dresdens impressive architecture as you stroll along a tree-lined promenade. The terrace is perfect for sunny afternoon strolling and is located at Schlossplatz, just steps away from the historic state ministry.
Breathtaking scenery of the Elbe and the other side of Dresden-Alstadt. The chilling breeze make your heart go wild and calm at the same time. Lined by the Academy of Fine Arts of TU Dresden, this is a place to relax.

We were brought here after dark one weekday evening recently - by the city dungeon keeper! We were on a walking tour to discover the macabre side of this fascinating city. Anyway he brought us up onto the terrace and we had a chance to both gain a wonderful night time view of the river and to listen to the various medieval methods of effecting punishment of the villainous inhabitants of this fair city all those years ago.
That evening it was quite busy and it is easy to understand why. The views are fantastic.

Worth to visit any weather and any time, but ''golden hours'' preferable. Take a walk to end of promenade: nice views, Elba, historical buildings, monuments, etc.

I have less than 24 hours in Germany, so Dresden is my choice before going back to Czech Rep. As expected, the spots are beautiful and walkable, especially the terrace. Hard to believe they rebuild this place from scratch because of the bombings that took place in the war

This beautiful place stretches high above the bank of the river Elbe. You can go there for free, have a sit, and contemplate that amazing view from "the balcony of Europe". It is close to many other touristic points and the Neumarkt square.

As a woman who recently visited the Brühl's Terrace, I was utterly enchanted by the stunning views and elegant atmosphere it had to offer. Often referred to as the "Balcony of Europe," this beautifully designed terrace provides breathtaking panoramas of the Elbe River and the historic cityscape of Dresden. The meticulously landscaped gardens, ornate sculptures, and majestic architecture create a truly romantic setting, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a moment of quiet contemplation. It is no wonder that the Brühl's Terrace has become such an iconic symbol of the city's charm and resilience. I wholeheartedly recommend this delightful spot to anyone visiting Dresden, as it will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on all who experience its beauty.
Pravčická Archway, a stunning natural sandstone formation, is a popular scenic site that requires a 5km uphill walk from the paid parking or bus stop. The entrance fee is around 4 EUR and credit cards are accepted. The area offers good amenities and breathtaking views, making it perfect for a sunny day excursion. However, it may not be ideal during windy or rainy weather due to its exposed location.
Very beautiful place, even in winter time, quite easy to reach even for kids. Absolutely amazing view and very interesting geological case, plus you can get a coffee right under the gate. A small gallery, where you can find impressive photos of the place in different seasons of the year is worth of visiting too.
Daridis Gwarifarlad — Google review
Long uphill walk of about 5km to get there from the paid parking or bus stop. Good condition needed. About 4 EUR to get in (credit card accepted). Good amenities. Still somewhat reasonable prices. Don't buy sugary drinks; the wasps will enjoy it ... You probably not. Stunning views around, so allow for over half an hour once inside to get to each of them and enjoy the view. Great for a sunny day. Likely not for windy days with rain, as the views are really out in the open.
Erwin Kerstens — Google review
An excellent spot for some walking! The place offers a beautiful nature and the building itself is also interesting. Plus there is a lot of small paths on the top of the hill so a person spends some time there. The entrance ticket to the top of the hill and actually the building costs about 100 Kč so it's more like symbolic price and I gladly paid it to keep the place in a good shape.
If there is normally some restaurant at the place, it was closed. Instead of that, there was a food window outside with the some snacks, but also with warm meals. I appreciated that, since the weather outside was still cold at time of my visit and it was very handy to eat something warm. Another thing that I appreciated was that the menu was both in Czech and German, as the majority of tourists speak at least one of these two languages.
It's real shame that the national park burned down from a big part in the previous year. Fingers crossed that the nature and the trees regenerates over the next few years.

It was a 1.5h hike for me, but the view was totally worth it!! Very unfortunate that some parts of the forest got burnt some time ago, but the arch and the rest of the view were breathtaking. Highly recommended :) the ticket was 80czk for adults and 40czk for students (show isic) They closed at 4pm. The restaurant up there was very reasonably priced as well surprisingly, considering that the place is very touristic and very high up on the hills
Vaykimlyta Ouk — Google review
Impressive hike to do specially during the winter. Being reward with the largest natural arch in Europe is certainly worthy the difficulty to park at the beginning of the hike.
The whole hike was pretty stepped to do but nothing extraordinary.
There's a Restaurant at the top, on a very nice building but it closes too soon during winter time, so we couldn't get something to eat. What makes sense because it's pretty difficult to come down at nightfall.
The arch itself is pretty beautiful to see and I advise to go to the highest viewpoint to have a good sight not only of the arch but also of the amazing landscape surrounding you.
Carlos Pimentel — Google review
A very nice place, beautiful views, although after the fire the landscape in the area was quite apocalyptic in places. The path to the entrance is rather simple, anyone can manage it.
Apolinary Szuter — Google review
It was a great sight, however there was a very strong smell which you could not ignore. If you are anywhere nearby (even Germany or Poland) I definitely recommend u stop by or you can plan your whole trip around it. Definitely worth it. You can make a whole day hiking day out of it or just stop by for 2 hours. It is not wheelchair accessible and if you do not like walking uphill this is definitely not for you.
Matilda Kraft — Google review
Nice place to reach at the end of a hike through the forest. Beautiful sights, a place to rest and grab a drink or eat (if you get there during the opening hours). It could get crowded on weekends. Best to leave early from the parking and have time to continue the hike to other parts of the national park.
Mihail Minchev — Google review
Although parking is 3.5km away, most of the climb up is beautiful with stunning landscapes. At the end is the arch, more lookouts, cafe and an amazing old building.
There is a charge to enter the top part.

This is a very beautiful getaway from Prague / Dresden. Not much visited, because there is very little information abou how to reach there etc. I drove to the base and looked for the shortest walk. My tip: drive to parking Soutěsky. This is almost the last parking before start of the trail. Try driving further and you may save another 500 mtrs. of walking if you find a parking spot on the one of the last parking. All parking have same price of Euro 8.
Total walk from this parking is about 6 Km of which you walk about 2 Km along the highway as there are no parkings directly at the start of trail. . Walk is quiet easy and surrounded by beautiful terrain.
Take plenty of water with you on a sunny day, there are no water streams on the way and you can only buy a refill at the destination. The area was under fire some years ago, so expect no shade.
Plan a day, the place is really beautiful and the walking up alone takes easily about 2 Hrs or more unless you are fighting fit.
Dinesh Singh — Google review
What a beautiful place. Totally worth the effort and the entrance fee of 4 €.
Food and drinks were also great.
A big thank you to the owner of the restaurant for rescuing my phone from the edge of the cliff without excepting any money <3
Michael Stampka — Google review
Beautiful hike with some of the most scenic nature in Czech! The hike up and back took about 1.5 hours, not including stopping to take photos and grabbing a snack at the top (there is a small restaurant).
As of April 2022, a wildfire devastated the area, but as of April 2023, the top remains largely untouched.
Christopher Yandell — Google review
The walk to the top was intense, but maybe that's because it was 33 degrees in full sun and we already walked and climbed for 10km before we started this specific trail.
We parked our car at Na Hájenkách (Indiánská vesnička Rosehill) where there is a small free parking place.
Then, we walked to Mezní Můstek and went right, to Divoká Soutěska and bought a ticket for the boat through the river, which took about 18 minutes. During the boat tour, the tour guide will explain things in a humorous way regarding the river area.
Then we walked to Mezná, which is a rather intense continuous climb, and continued to Tři Prameny, the starting point for the trail to Pravčicka Brána.
Its advisable to bring plenty of water in these temperatures and bring sun protection. Our total hike was 12km and took about 4 hours, including breaks. We consumed 2,5L of water each.
When we got back the crossroad Tři Prameny, we took bus line 441 back to our parking spot in Na Hájenkách. To our surprise, the ride was for free!
Tom Albers — Google review
We visited as part of a hiking tour. The walk up is moderately demanding but the last section would certainly challenge anyone with mobility issues.
It is a long steady climb through a valley of trees devastated by fires in the last few years. As such it feels beautiful but slightly bleak, at least until the end where you climb the steep steps and slopes up to the chateau. Sited alongside the Archway, the chalet style hostelry offers refreshments and toilets. Seating areas overlook the beautiful scenery below and a very short path under the arch exposes you to a breathtaking view from the edge. Another short climb takes you to a viewpoint looking across the arch, much used in postcards and the like.
The walk back down is a bit hard on the knees for those of us of a certain age, but feels easy after the climb up. The weather was good when we visited but I can imagine a strategic inclusion of layers and waterproofs is in order at other times.
A lovely and rewarding hike

Lunch with a view! 🤩 A lovely hike brings you to this beautiful place for stunning views and lunch with a view. I had the fried cheese with fries and coleslaw plus a coke. Can’t comment on price as I’m unsure of the exchange rate but it was a stunning view, fantastic service and overall really enjoyable day.

Wonderful experience, takes an hour or two from Hrensko. 3 Km from Hrensko to the starting point of the trail, then 2 Km hike.
If you come from Germany you can cross the border on a ferry from Schöna to Hrensko. (DB ticket works on it)
You can also experience the aftermath of wildfires last year.

Don't take this 5 star rating to be a rating that one normally gives out to other places. This is a death camp that has a very dark history associated to it. The 5 star rating is for the staff that has maintained this place. 60 kms outside of Prague, this is a must visit place. Especially for the WW2 history buffs. This place will stir your emotions.

The monument was originally built in 1790, during the reign of Emperor Josef II (who did not live to see it completed) as a fortress (a system of three fortresses that protected Prague). It was never built as a concentration camp and never served as such. During the Second World War, the fortress was used as a prison by the Prague Gestapo and thus became famous. From the first moment, if you have already visited one of the former concentration camps, you can see that it is rather a milder and "nice" place compared to the camps. Of course, I don't mean to downplay the brutality that took place here. I recommend buying at least a paper guide, there is a map on the ticket, but it is easier to go according to the numbers in ascending order. After visiting the small fortress, be sure to visit the city of Terezín and the large fortress that served as a Jewish ghetto + cafes and a hospital

My father and I did this the trip out to the concentration camp and the experience itself was quite eye opening just trying to place yourself in the shoes of what the people went though during this time. It was a humbling experience to say the least. The families lost, children that grew up never knowing their mothers and fathers as well as how the jews in particular were treated. The fact that this was allowed to happen and that people can do this is still something that is beyond me. A must do day trip if in Prague
The ŠKODA Muzeum is a museum located in a renovated production plant that showcases the history of the famous Czech auto brand through classic cars. It is an ideal destination for anyone interested in learning about Czech auto history as it offers an informative tour with knowledgeable guides. The admission rates are reasonable and there is a gift area for auto enthusiasts. In addition to the main museum, visitors can also request to see the depositary where raw gems are kept in a separate building.
Really nice place, very pleasant exposition. According to my opinion much nicer than VW museum (as that one is exposed in really heavy industry environment and seems like whole museum was forgotten in past years in Germany). Also we loved interactions possibilities. We want to visit it again, but with our 8yo son. Great job done Skoda!

Cute little museum with an array of cars on display. Admission for adults is 100CZK. There is a cloakroom, cafe and gift shop on site. We spent an hour there enjoying the exhibits. My only criticism is that I wish the descriptions for each display had more of an overarching narrative and a greater explanation about the design features and its evolution.

Very new and informative. I recommend to go to depositary also, there are the raw gems. But you have to ask to take you there, it is in a separate building. The tour in the museum itself is max. 2 hours. Child friendly with a few driveable toys.

Greatest part is factory. Walking along cars being made on your watch. Starting from metal sheets, ending as a ready to drive vehicle. One car made every minute. You won't see all process but certainly some interesting parts of it.

⭐⭐⭐ The Škoda's Temple ⭐⭐⭐
At the beginning I would like to thank the lovely 🇨🇿 Czeck girl ❤️❤️❤️ who works at the Škoda Museum and who lent me few CZK to buy a little souvenir last Saturday. Even I won't see you again 💔😭 I would like to thank you for your good heart and information you gave me about the company, historical L&K factory that burned out and places in Mladá Boleslav where Škoda produces its cars. Škoda Museum should be proud to have such fantastic employees. Good things come back! 🌈
The visit in the museum was a really outstanding experience. It presents the history of the brand starting from Laurin & Klement company producing Slavia bicycles 🚲 up to newest cars 🚗.
There is a glory wall for rally trophies collected by Škoda and its drivers 🏆🏆🏆 and a place that presents how old historical cars are rebuilt and turned back into live 🔧.
Unfortunately, the visit in the factory plant was not possible due to COVID-19 pandemic 😭
In my opining Škoda should introduce a tour with foreign speaking guide in Polish language. A strong minus for that. Poland 🇵🇱 is one of most important sales market for Škoda brand.
I would also recommend the museum to show how the cars are designed and produced nowadays by using amazing materials from Škoda Storyboard webpage with designers and engineers. It is a missing part of exhibition.
A Škoda fan

Skoda museum located in the premises of Skoda factory in Mlada Boleslav in Czech republic. It has very nice and beautiful collection of cycles and vintage as well as modern cars developed by Skoda brand. It's must see for automobile lovers and admirers. The entire collection is excellently displayed and proper information is also showcased.

Full of cars from very different years. Wonderful history of Skoda, worth visiting.

A great place to learn about Czech auto history on a day trip from Prague.
The admission rates aren't bad (check their website) and there tour guide was very knowledgeable. We were a bit late, so it got cut short but she still covered key points and let us see the inaccessible prototype gallery.
They have a nice gift area too for your auto friends.

You can book your in English as well by calling there. During weekend only museum tours are available but in the weekdays to can also have tours to the factory itself.

Skoda as a car manufacturer is well known in europe. Company has a great history and employees are proud of it. Skoda museum reflects it. During visit you can check, how Skoda became one of the most important car producers. From the old cars, through historical racings cars into the future concepts - everything in one place. If you are near to Mlada Boleslav, it's something you must visit.

Spilberk Castle is a medieval fortress located in the center of Brno, Czech Republic. It has been used as a royal castle, a baroque fortress, and as a prison during different times in Czech history. Today, the castle is part of the City Museum which hosts exhibitions on architecture, history, and art.
Beautiful castle - a highlight for any trip to Brno. Give yourself plenty of time for the visit as it’s large and there is a lot to see.
Lots for all the family to see and do.
Good food and drink options.
It’s surrounded by a beautiful park and has tons of viewing platforms to see all of Brno

Although the castle itself is not worth visiting, but the castle ground and surrounding is just breathtakingly beautiful. It is a perfect morning walk around the park, plenty of places to sit, there are view points almost every few steps, so get your camera ready. The ground and park is so well maintained and clean, while I was there I really relaxed and forgot about all the noise from the city. Perfect for a relaxing stroll.

Summary and caveats: not great for kids. Great for adults *if* you like 20th century art and/or photography, or early-to-late modern artifacts like old weapons, furniture, clothing, etc. Also, skip the first floor of the museum entirely, it was really not worth the time.
We spent several hours wandering through the museum and prison. The museum was delightful, aside from the first floor which is basically a tedious collection of historical illustrations with poorly translated explanations in English. Every other floor made up for it, especially the modern art exhibit. The prison was arguably something you could skip, though I personally enjoyed walking through the long dark spaces and reading about what transpired there. If you are short on time, it's very reasonable to cut the prison from your tour.

Pretty nice castle on the hill. I haven't bought tickets for the museum but I've gone around the whole castle and could see a beautiful view from the top of the hill. Also toilets are clean and free.

Great sightseeing spot to go to. It is right next to multiple sightseeing spots. On the top there is a bar with great bartender and the drinks are really nice. Right under the Castle is an nuclear fallout shelter also worth seeing. We did not get s tour but the public areas around the castle are really beautiful.

City’s big attractions aren’t appealing to me, but I’m so glad I walked up the hill to the Spilberk Castle. Don’t pay to go inside. Simply walk the trails finding views of Brno, waterfalls, and sculptures. Then walk into the castle’s courtyard and around to see the moat and more views of the city.

The view from the castle is amazing, and free.
There's also several very cheap guided tour options that allow you to enter the cast buildings. I did the "History of the Castle" tour, which I found very interesting. The tour was in Czech, but we were provided an English guidebook and our guide was also very happy to answer questions in English afterwards.
Included in our ticket was entry to an art gallery that is part of the Castle, which also gave a cool overview of some of the history of Czech art, especially in Brno.

Nice place for a family walk with a beautiful view of the whole city😊. From time to time there are some events organized there like the Witch burning event on the 30th of April that we were able to attend. There was a great opportunity to grill, try local Czech wine&beer and see the huge bonfire.

Great variety of exhibitions for the fare price of muzeum ticket. I was surprised and very enjoyed the muzeum on a rainy day. This castle is much better than Karlstein! I learned a lot of information and history, enjoyed the pictures and art, saw the prison and more. I highly recommend to spend here 1.5-2 h. It is worth visiting.

If you like castles, I definitely recommend visiting Špilberk! It is a huge castle with a lot of exhibitions, ranging from the makings of the castle over its history as a prison up to modern-day Brno. There is art and sculptures, you can see old parts of the walls and castle, there are interactive exhibitions for kids, rooms showing how the prisoners lived and torture methods, and much more.
It includes the MMB Museum, the Tower and the Royal Chapel, the Treasures of Armoury, the underground water tanks and the casemates.
You have to buy all the tickets individually.
I bought one for the Museum, the Armoury and the Tower and Chapel and paid around 15€.
Sadly, the water tanks were closed at the time I visited the castle.
How much time should you plan:
A whole day if you want to see everything the castle has to offer
3+ hours for the exhibitions in the Museum
20 min for the Treasures of Armoury
30-40 min for the Tower and Chapel
What I would have liked to be done differently:
All the rooms with exhibitions in the museum have detailed info panels in Czech. The translations for tourists are found in booklets hanging on walls or given out by the staff. The booklets only cover an overview of the parts that are exhibited. They are not detailed and for some things, there is no translation at all. You have to translate it yourself if you want to know more. Some of the signs for orientation were only in Czech, too.
The booklets are in English and German, only in some rooms they were in French (if I am not mistaken) and only in the Treasures of Armoury I found an italian translation.
The quality of translation could be better, the English was good, some of the German (in the Armoury) was pretty bad and the sentences didn't make sense, otherwise it was okay.
It would also be very helpful if the castle could offer an estimation of time for the average stay.
There is a Bistro outside of the castle. The park around it is beautiful, especially in autumn and ideal for walks. The view is stunning, you can see the whole city of Brno and the mountains around it. It is definitely worth a visit, but plan your time accordingly.

Amazing Castle, most beautiful view
The art displayed around the castle grounds does not go well with the style of the castle (plus it looks disturbing)
Service in the bar/restaurant is typical for Europe, long waiting time and if you don't call them to your table, you won't get served

Very beautiful place to stroll around and admire the entire city of Brno.
The Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul is a towering landmark in the city of Brno, and one of the most important sights in South Moravia. This gorgeous national cultural monument is composed of two 84 meter high towers, and features an impressive Romanesque chapel from the 11th century that was later rebuilt into a Gothic structure. The cathedral is well known for its noon bells which ring at 11am every day.
The outside is very beautiful, in Gothic style. The inside is OK. It's worth it walking up the bell tower for 2 eur and getting the views overlooking Brno. There are 2 sides to look at, so it's definitely worth it. Not too many steps to climb up.
Paul Heller — Google review
Known locally as Petrov, the Catholic Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul has a Gothic architecture and Baroque interior.
What’s fascinating is that the bells are rung at 11 o’clock instead of 12. Legend has it that in 1645, after months of continuous fighting, the Swedish forces had set themselves a limit to conquer Brno by noon on the 15th of August. Some clever locals and spies changed the course of the Thirty Years War by ringing the bells one hour before noon. In consequence, the Swedish army retreated.
Stefan Popescu — Google review
The cathedral looks the best from the outside. Inside it's just a generic catholic temple. The view point is also not the best (two little balconies on the opposite sides) but it has a very low price, so I shouldn't complain.
One special thing I saw which isn't often in christian temples is that between balconies, you go through the space which is between the ceiling and the roof of the cathedral.
Marek Górski — Google review
Beautiful cathedral - hard to get a sense of the scale because it has other large buildings right beside it

A beautiful cathedral which is free but if you go to the other side of the building you can go up and see the view from top. If I remember correctly the ticket was 60 krona which is almost £2. You can find a free toilet close to the cathedral but not inside.

After eastern France and the Wallone area of Belgium, I can't get enough of the churches in Czechia. They have all been so amazing and this one does not disappoint. It is beautiful, peaceful and a great walk up a hill. You can climb the tower too but I didn't have enough time. It is worth the walk up the hill to enjoy the peace
Wandering Auntie — Google review
The cathedral dominates the view of the city. The gothic structure has some very old ‘original’ gothic features in the choir. The interior is well preserved and you can feel that it is an active church as well. It is surrounded with terraces and some give a nice view of the surroundings. You can visit the tower as well. Some interesting features are the marble pulpit and the Holy Virgin statue inside, and the rather rare stone pulpit outside.

Really nice chatedrale and if you have time it's worth seeing. There is a chance to go to the tower or the beel or somewere the the top I think with of course some ticket.

This is a Roman Catholic cathedral located on Petrov Hill in the Brno.
The current cathedral was built in the Gothic style in the 13th and 14th centuries, and was later modified in the Baroque style in the 18th century.

Brno doesn’t have many tourist destinations but one of the most popular ones amongst them is the St. Peter and Paul cathedral. It is hard to miss when one is arriving at the city centre as it overlooks almost the entire city. It is easily accessible via tram and if you’re willing to take up an adventure, then hiking from Hlavni Nadrazi is also an option. It is very picturesque and isn’t overcrowded at all. Most importantly, it has free WC available in its premises.

A beautiful cathedral - more from the outside than the inside in my opinion, but still 100% worth the visit. The entry is free, you can then pay two euro to be able to climb to the tower. For a toilet you need to climb down the stairs outside and there's s free one.

Aqualand Moravia is a water park that offers a unique experience on the site of ancient Roman baths. It boasts geothermal water, saunas, and various wellness amenities. The complex has something to offer for families, couples, kids or groups of friends with its spacious layout and numerous attractions such as toboggans and sliding tubes. There are both indoor and outdoor pools available for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, the park provides entertainment with hourly dance activities and a cafe/restaurant on-site.
I really love this place and i try to visit everytime i am in the vicinity, I love their Romulus and Remus, I was impressed with their wellness area. Sadly, they don't have hourly rate any more; however definitely worth it to buy tickets online. This aquapark is smaller but it is clean, looks upkept, all areas are are well heated - always pleasant experience.

Bad things

2. In the end when we want pay all the bank terminal did not working and we must pay cash and we did not have enough with ourselves and so hard to manage and they did exchanges high rates for change Euro to Czech crown.
3. Water do ours eyes irritation and also so bad test
4. They have 2 parking one is in front of the swimming pool but the second one is far and you need to walk around 2 km.
Good things.
1. There are so many pools and activities inside and outside.
2. Nice view and water adventures, so fun.
3. Restaurant food is very good and high quality like outside restaurants.
Various food and so delicious and good prices.
4. Bar inside the pool had so tasty drinks and nice prices.

Great place BUT the kid’s pool is too quite cold. My sons had blue lips while playing in the water. I suppose it wasn’t just us who were cold because many kids used the 2 hot relaxing pools in the back area to warm up a little.
One more thing that I really didn’t like is the too much A/C in the restaurant and bar. When people go there with wet hair and in wet clothes, it really shouldn’t be that cold in there.
Ildik? Czegl?di — Google review
The park is nice, well built, a lot of things to do, but the fast track is ... There are around 5-6 normal rafts per slide and another 3-4 available as "fast track rafts" and because of that the waiting line is really long, if you want to go and use the water slides, just don't, we went with that in mind, after 5 hours in the park we managed to go 6 or 7 times... More than that we bought 2 fast tracks just to try the slides...
Indoor slides are bad, really bad, a lot of people got stuck in them (including me), the staff instead of supervising people are guarding the fast track rafts...

One less star for the restaurant unable to cater for so many people, by the time i queued for soup, hot food and then check out, the food purchased was cold.
Also it would be great if people could clean after themselves- swimming nappy left in showers is so not nice, but this is something the visitors should think about rather than the place having to deal with. Its all about people.

The museum is located on the Ringstrasse, and visitors can explore its endless galleries filled with incredible masterpieces. Some of the most renowned artists in history are represented, including Caravaggio, Tintoretto, van Dyck, Raphael, Rembrandt, and Rubens.
A wonderful museum! A wide collection of paintings with some of them famous. The Egyptian and Greek antiquities are also very beautiful. You can see statues from different periods, jewellery, mummies and many more. The entrance of the museum is very stunning and also you can admire the wonderful dome from there.

Wow, breathtaking architecture from the moment you walk in. The building was already set in itself. We haven’t even seen the halls yet when we were greeted by these intricate details from ceiling to floor… The indoor cafe was even more beautiful with the marble details and the gold accents! Plus, the high ceiling that stretched into a dome. We didn’t get to try it but it seemed to have a long line but just looking at it was already a sight.
Amazing collection of art pieces spanning from different eras. Below are some favorites that are worth your time! Make sure to find these incredible works.
There weren’t too much people when we went. Didn’t have to wait in line at all except for the washroom… but the museum was spacious and the flow of people was manageable so it didn’t feel tight.

What a breathtakingly beautiful and vast museum. The first hack you need to be aware of is that if you don’t buy your tickets online, there is a ticket office on the outside but just inside the entrance there are a couple of self service kiosks which you can use to buy the ticket and there’s no line. Take your time as this museum is huge and it covers a lot of history. Have 1 or 2 euro coins with you for locker storage. The building itself is stunningly beautiful. Definitely worth seeing

This museum offers a fantastic opportunity for photography enthusiasts while showcasing remarkable paintings and sculptures. Exploring all the exhibitions here can be time-consuming, and it's important to note that there's no option to leave for a break. Instead, you'll find a restaurant within the museum, albeit slightly pricier. The staff, on the whole, is friendly, although some individuals may come across as a bit rude. However, the food is delicious, and I finally had the chance to savor a Vienna schnitzel that lived up to its reputation. I am not really a big museum person, but this was a great and absolutely stunning museum! Even if you're not into art, it might still be worth a visit just to experience the beautiful building. I really enjoyed the Roman, Greek, and Egyptian sections of the museum. We spent about 2 hours there, but if you're interested in art, you could probably spend a lot more time.
You're not allowed to bring bags inside the museum, but there is an area where you can store your bag for a €1 or €2 coin, which you'll get back when you retrieve your bag.

But it was a lot of fun to walk the ancient Egyptian exhibit and see all of the sarcophagus and the little green hippo, was adorable. All of the different sculptures were beautiful and then you go to the next floor and you get to see a bunch of famous artworks, which were just as stunning, so I was very happy that I ended up taking the time to go to this museum it was well worth it.

If you love art and historical significance of the art on the history then it's a must visit place. There are amazing paintings and coin collection also. But I think the most remarkable thing is how good they have maintained those painting even after so many centuries. You have to give atleast 2 hours for whole museum. But it really worth it.

It was one of the best museums I have done in Europe!
The architecture of the inside and the outside of the monument is a piece of art.
The first floor is amazing for all the people who love the mineralogy and paleontology.
The second floor is like an alive encyclopedia of the different animals living currently on earth.
My only critic will be :
All the explications and names are not translated in english on the second floor.
I think you will need minimums 3 or 4 hours if you want to visit the full museum (I have needed 5 hours)
(Full price 16€)

Really amazing museum in fine surroundings. The museum has a lot to offer. It is a piece of art itself. You need to have plenty of time may be all day to see the unique collections.

An absolutely stunning museum, one of my favourite I’ve been to in Europe. Highlights for me included almost all the paintings by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, the large painting of Marie Antoinette and of course what they had from Arcimboldo’s Four Seasons series and Four Elements series
We bought tickets while standing outside of the museum because there was a bit of a queue for the ticket office. We were in much faster than those waiting in line

This museum is worth visiting for sure! It is not that much about the artefacts placed there but more about the building itself. It is all made of marble, every room is a different colour, style and gives you a unique experience. From the expositions, I enjoyed the first one the most - Ancient Egypt. There were mummies, sarcophaguses, scrolls etc. The stairs are the star of the show.

Classical, gigantic, mesmerizing museum I have visited till now. Worth every penny. Apart from the collections, a big shoutout to the architectural beauty of this museum.
Please take at least 3-4 hours to visit this museum properly. And don’t forget to take instagrammable photos on staircase and the bird’s eye view of the coffee shop.

The museum has excellent design. You can tour the museum worry-free by leaving your valuables in the lockers. For a modest cost, an audio guide is provided. The experience of viewing exquisitely crafted objects was very remarkable.

Open till late, was such a nice experience as I had never visited a museum after dark. Lovely architecture with a resturant in the middle which looked nice (couldn't manage to book it).
Really cool historic pieces inside.

Absolutely and by far, the most interesting building and museum in Vienna. It consists of multiple exhibitions, divided by the time and geographical position of the given state, dating all the way back to a few thousand B.C. The exhibition comprises some Egyptian mummies, both human and animal, which were the most fascinating part.
Fun fact: In the Middle Ages, people believed mummies had healing powers, so they ate them, while aristocrats had unwrapping parties at their mansions.

The Vienna Art History Museum is a World Class Museum located in the Museum district of Vienna. Well designed and laid out for the different periods of Art with an emphasis on the great masters of the Renaissance and Classical periods.
Highly recommended! Great coin collection rooms also. Amazing place! This review DOES follow Google’s Policies!!!
The Hofburg, originally an imperial palace and now home to the Austrian president, is a vast and ornate baroque structure with extensive interiors. It features elaborate marble foyers and hallways, as well as lavish living quarters for the Austrian monarchy. The Kaiserappartements, once the official living quarters of Franz Josef and Empress Elisabeth, are especially stunning in their chandelier-lit opulence.
If you want to know more about the young Empress Sisi who has fascinated everyone, this is the museum you should not miss. We did the full ticket with audio guide and silver collection. The guide is well done and everything it explains is interesting, the silver collection is cool you see the ostentatiousness live of royalty but a quick look is enough. You can see the Empress's dresses and all the rooms preserved and decorated with the style of the time, her office, bathroom etc ... the truth is that it is worth it and interesting.

It is an impressive and imposing building that houses a variety of exhibits. I honestly can't understand the purpose of all these massive internal staircases that take up almost half of the palace. Finally, the Greek antiquities are as if they were simply stored there and not as if they were being exhibited.

If you like knights, royal horses, jousting and such the Imperial Armory is a must see! A collection of 125 suits of armour carefully catalogued by owner and circa. The museum/palace itself is work of art with grand halls, staircases and paintings. Take a peek at the elegance of long ago. The entrance and self-guided tour with audio was included with my Vienna Pass

This is a must-see in Vienna as it is more than thrilling and the history behind it is glorious. I suggest visiting it in the morning as it is less crowded. An interesting fact is that the president now lives in that castle.
It is truly a masterpiece!

The place is MASSIVE! It has so much history and so many things to see! From the silver museum to the library to the sisi museum to the imperial rooms! It's a lot of fun but the tour is really long (about 90 minutes or so). The audio guide experience is really good! I got to learn a lot of things about the history of Austria and about the royal family! Some criticisms are that we can't take pictures at parts of the place (like sisi museum and imperial rooms) and that we can't connect Bluetooth earbuds to the audio guide remote. The amount of things you learn there is so much worth it though and the place is very well priced! I had a lot of fun there.

The Hofburg in Austria is an absolute gem that takes you on a captivating journey through history. As an avid traveler, I have visited numerous landmarks, but the Hofburg stands out as a place that truly encapsulates the essence of Austria's rich heritage.
I was immediately struck by the impressive architecture and the sheer scale of the palace. The blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles creates a visual feast for the eyes, transporting visitors to a bygone era of opulence and grandeur. The attention to detail in every nook and cranny is simply astounding.
The Hofburg's location in the heart of Vienna adds to its allure. Surrounded by charming streets, delightful cafes, and vibrant cultural attractions, it's the perfect starting point to explore the city. I recommend taking a leisurely stroll through the Burggarten, a beautiful park adjacent to the palace, for a moment of tranquility amidst the urban buzz.
Whether you are a history enthusiast, an architecture aficionado, or simply seeking a taste of Austria's imperial past, the Hofburg is an absolute must-visit. It is a testament to the grandeur and cultural legacy of this remarkable country. Prepare to be enthralled by its timeless beauty and indulge in a journey through Austria's rich history.

This is also one of the iconic tourist attraction in Vienna.
Once a winter residence of former Habsburg dynasty but now serve as the workplace of the Austria's President.
Better to come here during daylight or early morning as you will see the magnificent beauty, the architectural structure and of course to escape from the throng of people.
At night, the lights will add to its beauty.
It was close when I come here.

Loved it the first time I came here in summer of 2019 and still loved it again after four years. I’d say I prefer the summer time for this type of visit because it’s a vast area of space that gets quite windy and cold in January. Otherwise, you’ll be able to explore all the vast options when the weather is good.
However, if you don’t mind the cold, the grounds are yours, albeit there’s not much to see except the museums. Perhaps this is when a tour guide would be most helpful.

Didn't go inside due to a tight schedule but the external architecture of this building is simply majestic and beautiful. So many amazing buildings in Vienna, but this is one of my favorites. It is simply overwhelming when you see it in person. Impossible to capture its awe with pictures, must be seen to be believed. I didn’t do the tours inside as I had a busy schedule, but I’m sure the inside is as beautiful as the outside. A must see in Vienna!
The historic city center of Vienna, known as Historisches Zentrum von Wien, is a magnificent sight filled with elegant buildings, baroque castles and parks. The 19th-century Ringstrasse boulevard is the highlight of the area with numerous incredible buildings adorned with fascinating designs, carvings and statues. The location is exceptionally clean but can be overcrowded during holidays making it difficult for taxis and cars to pass through.
A truly beautiful sight. There are several buildings in this location. All with amazing and intriguing designs, statues, patterns and carvings. The area is very clean. Taking pics and stopping to admire can be uncomfortable as the area is extremely busy(as it should be). So better go in the morning or early afternoon on weekdays. During holidays, the area is decorated beautifully. Taxis and cars will find it difficult to pass the streets here due to excess pedestrians. All in all, amazing place, definitely a most visit when you are in Vienna.

The area is very clean and has lots of opportunities for taking photos. The area is most busy in the evenings and nights when everyone comes out. During holidays the area is decorated beautifully and has many Christmas markets around the area as I experienced when I visited here. In my opposition from what I saw the best one was the large Christmas market near and around St. Stephens Cathedral in the historic city centre. The Gothic cathedral St. Stephan's Cathedral is located in the heart of Vienna and boasts an ornate spire, catacombs, and a treasury museum. It is a popular Instagram spot for panoramas of the cityscape from either the tower or the outside.
Very very stunning church in the heart of the city. Made it there during mass in the evening, but will definitely be going back today to get the feel of the place during the day.
Amazing architecture from both inside and outside. It’s jaw dropping. And it has such an amazing/positive/calming energy.
The is no entrance fee to the church itself but if you wanna climb the tower and its 300+ steps or to see the catacombs you need to pay. Will add an update after I do the tours today.

Totally worth visiting it's free to enter. We visited in the evening and it was almost empty likely because tour groups go in the morning. The amazing detail in these buildings is always amazing and something worth experiencing. You can enjoy it inside and out.

Beautiful church, most of the main parts are free to visit so I can't think of a reason to not visit.
There are some parts of the church which you need to pay to enter, I paid for the catacombs tour and recommend that. I also paid to go up the north tower, you get good views of Vienna and a good look at the amazing tiled roof, however I am not sure it is worth the asking price of EUR 6 - take a look at the photos below and decide for yourself whether you want to pay to go up.
You can only buy tickets in person at the church, you cannot buy them online in advance, also they only accept cash, no cards.

Be fit if you're going up the south tower worth it for the view. North tower little lift ride to the top great to see the tiled roof up close. The catacombs tour was good. I got out of the afternoon heat for half an hour, which is very informative. Highly recommended to buy an all-inclusive ticket

St. Stephen's Cathedral is an architectural masterpiece that left me in awe. The intricate details of its Gothic design, including the stunning stained glass windows and towering spires, are truly captivating. The interior is equally impressive, with its majestic altar and historical artifacts. Climbing the South Tower was a highlight, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Vienna. A must-visit for history enthusiasts and architecture lovers!

This was an incredibly interesting and beautiful place to visit. There are several options for tickets, we chose the € 20 all inclusive per person one.
This allows a visit to the Cathedral itself plus both the North and South towers. One has an elevator and the other over 300 steps.Even though we could access both, we went with the elevator.
The view was fantastic, both of the city and the rest of the Cathedral. Then we had a guided tour of the crypt, absolutely brilliant and a great tour guide. The tour was in German and English and highly worth taking.
I would highly recommend this tour and if at all possible, try to be there for 10 am at least before the crowd. This part of Vienna is incredibly busy with tourists..
Also tickets are not available online and must be purchased in person in the Cathedral. This is cash only, as is the gift shop.

Behold the majestic splendor of Saint Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, a timeless masterpiece that transcends mere architecture to embody the very soul of Austria's rich history and cultural heritage.
As you step through its ancient gates, you are transported to a realm where the whispers of the past mingle with the echoes of the present. Towering spires reach towards the heavens, their intricate facades adorned with intricate carvings that tell stories of triumph and tribulation, of faith and fortitude.
Inside, a symphony of light dances through stained glass windows, painting the hallowed halls with a kaleidoscope of colors that inspire awe and reverence. Each step unveils a new wonder: from the grandeur of the nave to the serenity of the chapels, every corner holds a treasure waiting to be discovered.
But it is not only the physical beauty of Saint Stephen's Cathedral that captivates the soul. It is the palpable sense of history that permeates its walls, the echoes of centuries of prayers and praises that linger in the air. Here, amid the hushed whispers of pilgrims and the solemn strains of organ music, one cannot help but feel a connection to something greater than oneself.
Saint Stephen's Cathedral is not merely a building; it is a living testament to the enduring power of faith and the indomitable spirit of humanity. It is a place where the past meets the present, where the sacred and the sublime converge in a harmony that transcends time itself.
To visit Saint Stephen's Cathedral is to embark on a journey through the annals of history, to walk in the footsteps of kings and queens, poets and peasants. It is an experience that will stay with you long after you have left its hallowed halls, a reminder of the enduring beauty and majesty of the human spirit.

I recommend you to take all in one ticket. You can buy it inside, go to the left and you will see the entry to the South Tower. Buy a ticket and go to the North tower. To get there, go out and walk around the church to the left side. You will see the entry to the North tower. It was not easy to get to the top, pretty narrow staircase corridor and long way up. The reason why you should go to this tower first because it closes earlier (see photo). You can observe night city from the South tower only.

I had the opportunity to go inside and check out this incredibly historic cathedral located in the city centre of Vienna. Both the inside and outside of the cathedral are stunning and picturesque. It is free to enter the church but there is also certain areas of the church that you need too pay to enter. I definitely could have spent more time in here and would definitely do it again when in Vienna and definitely recommend stepping inside if you haven’t at least once for a few minutes. At the time we we’re here it was mid November and there was a large Christmas market set up in the city center and we were wondering around on the evening when the area was most lively. Definitely wish to come back in the future.

Check times. Closed for tourists during mass. Free entry but pay for central bit and catacomb tour. Very busy when we went around 13.30.
It is truly subjective as it does depend on how much churches and cathedrals you’ve visited. We have visited too many I think especially the ones in Italy and even in England, hence this was a bit underwhelming. Gothic design. Tick. Ornate carvings. Tick. Not all of the outside has been cleaned which is authentic I think. We could see how history and time have affected it. Black soot/smoke from centuries gone.
One thing to commend it for being different - amazing roof!! That, I love. ❤️

Wow, St. Stephen's Cathedral is incredibly impressive, its size is breathtaking. The beautiful Gothic building is a symbol of Vienna. From the cathedral tower is a wonderful view of the city, but I warn you, there are 343 stairs to climb and it is very narrow, but it is worth it, I went up in June at 36°C outside 🤣

Wow. I'll be yet another person to add a 5* review to this magnificent church! Stunning in its exterior, the beauty manages to extend to its interior. We made it during a mass which was great to experience and then visited again in the evening. Ultimately, my only gripe is that they only accept cash for tours.

The church is beautiful! A must see in Vienna. I like that they have divided their tour into sections and prices and you can buy an all inclusive or just buy the ones that you want. We bought the cathedral and catacombs. Cathedral has a QR code tour on your phone that is very informative. The catacombs were amazing and a little scary. Must see. We wanted to go to treasury too but the timings didn’t work for us. Do check opening times because they seem to open and close for visitors throughout the day/week, depending on services and mass.

We loved St. Stephen’s! We decided to buy tickets to the catacomb tour and the South Tower and we felt that we saw plenty. I think we spent about 10€ per person total to see both.
We loved the catacombs tour. Our guide was very enthusiastic and gave us a lot of information about the catacombs. It was very in depth and in both German and English. You pay at the end of the tour in cash (they have change).
The south tower was quite a trek - not for the faint of heart or claustrophobic. The stairs are very narrow and you end up walking past people going the opposite way. It gets very hot as well, so I’m not sure I’d recommend going on a hot day. We went on a rainy day and it was cooking, but thankfully the windows at the watch tower were open with a nice breeze to cool down at. You pay for tickets at the entrance of the South Tower.

The construction began in 1137 and completed in 1578, however due to circumstances such as fire and WW2, it needs to renovate or reconstruct until to this time.
Anyway, this century old cathedral is one of the marvelous I've ever seen.
It is an iconic tourist spot located in the heart of Vienna.
The interior and exterior are jaw-dropping.
It is a free entrance and yet a long queue especially in the afternoon.
There is a portion inside the cathedral to purchase ticket entrance.
During my visit, a throng of people passes by and you can't concentrate nor roaming around.
It was such an honor to see, feel and experience a hundred centuries structural buildings.
Recommendable tourist spot but I prefer you to come here as early in the morning to avoid people.

Belvedere Palace is a museum in Vienna, Austria that contains a wide range of art from the Middle Ages to today. The collection has particular importance for its holdings of Gustav Klimt paintings, which are some of the most beautiful and iconic works in the whole of Austria. The palace and its gardens make for a lovely place to spend an afternoon, and it's worth visiting if you're interested in Austrian art.

The views of the hills around Vienna are wonderful.
You have beautiful water fountains to calm body and mind, and there's a lovely cafe at the Upper Belvedere where you can sit indoors / outdoors and relax whilst contemplating life in Vienna.
In addition, last, but certainly not least, you have the Gustav Klimt exhibition and the palace itself.
Time well spent, I'd say!

The complex of palaces and gardens Belvedere is just a masterpiece. Two palaces (upper and lower), a complex of fountains, landscape design, a huge square. Therefore, this place is always crowded. Gorgeous art exposition of Gustav Klimt, including his most famous works. If you decide to see the palaces from the inside and see a collection of paintings, then it is better to take tickets online (the difference is noticeable). On Belvedere it is necessary to have at least 5-6 hours. It's worth to see it by own

Some of them have sculptures and some of them just have park benches but you don’t know till you enter. The two main fountains are beautiful and super picturesque one side you can see the beautiful palace on the other side you can see Vienna making both sides beautiful in different ways. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the incredible collection of art housed within the castle. The Upper Belvedere, in particular, showcases an array of masterpieces, including works by Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele. These paintings are not only artistically significant but also culturally and historically important.
The beautiful gardens, with their meticulously landscaped design, provided a serene backdrop for the castle. The views of Vienna from the terraces were absolutely breathtaking, making it a picture-perfect spot.
The staff at Belvedere Castle were informative and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. Absolutely stunning palace. If you are short on time, do just the upper palace. Keep in mind entry is per the time given for your ticket. They don't take you in early and only give you a 20 minute window if you are delayed. The exhibitions are on three levels and it takes at least an hour to see each of them properly, 90 minutes for each level if you want to do justice to the beautiful paintings, sculptures and the rooms of the palace. The lower level has medieval and modern art if that's your thing. The gardens between the palaces are lovely too.

It's hard to put this in to words how much this is worth visiting. You need to like art and you need to have patience to walk around and enjoy the culture. It was spectacular to see Klimt's the kiss. The architecture is awesome and the grounds and garden are worth a walk. So much to do, just pay it a visit

We were fascinated by this incredible piece of Vienna’s history. Upon entering from the main gate you have this huge space with a lake and manicured flower beds.
At the entrance of the museum you must deposit your backpacks in a special room at the "bag storage" and you can choose which direction to take first. The visit inside the museum has no time limit, you can go inside for as long as you want. It really is a must-see tourist attraction. We recommend making tickets online so you can skip the line at the ticket office.

The place to see The Kiss of Gustav Klimt. 🥺🥺❤️❤️
Make sure to get to the Upper gallery for this. Get your ticket online to skip the queue. The first floor baroque art ceilings are just marvellous and I couldn't get enough of staring at them. U can also see other modern artists like monet. A lot of art to admire and a beautiful interior. I went there during a very hot summer day and it was air conditioned. Enjoy the visit.

Amazing palace!!
I visited here during noon. It has amazing view.
Not just the walk around, you can simply sit there and enjoy your time with family, friends or your partner.
It has very mesmerizing view. You'll definitely collect so many memories from here.
Highly recommended!!

The palace is really beautiful, and the gardens around it are nicely designed for a pleasant walk. They've arranged everything well. Just remember to check when the palace is open before you go. That way, you can enjoy both the stunning palace and the lovely gardens to the fullest. It's a great way to spend your time!

Massive Palace and massive garden area. The architecture was unique and the maze garden took a lot of effort. The gallery inside was so satisfactory, especially the Gustav Klimt exhibits. There were a lot of people but it was not really crowded. A must-visit place in Vienna.

Really enjoyed this museum. A diverse collection of styles in a beautiful setting. The Klimt exhibit gets a lot of attention especially The Kiss, but many of his other works are just as interesting and thought provoking. Easy to explore this museum within an hour to 1.5 hours. The grounds are a nice stroll around too.

Very nice place worth seeing in Vienna. The park/gardens around this place with number of fountains are amazing. You can have a walk, seat on a garden bench and relax. There is also a cafe if you want to drink or bite something. Recommended place on a Vienna tourist map.

This was a stunning museum I would really recommend visiting. Getting tickets online in advance is preferable however if you don’t you can have a lovely stroll around the gardens outside. We only visited the Upper Belvedere which was stunning in itself - especially for the amazing Klimt collection but I would love to visit the Lower part next time.

Wonderful Museum and art gallery in beautiful surroundings, not to be missed if you’re a Klimt fan! We only went to lower Belvedere and the Schlossgarten but enjoyed every moment. Go early to avoid the crowds. We did but it was very crowded as we left.

One of the must see places at Vienna. There is Upper Belvedere, Lower Belvedere and the gardens. The gardens are free to visit. There are spread tickets for upper and lower palace. The upper place ticket is $17, but you can get a 2 in 1 ticket for $24. The famous “The Kiss” painting by Gustav Klimt is on the Upper Belvedere. It’s a must see. The gardens and the small lake are beautiful and worth the visit if you don’t want to go inside.

We only visited The upper Palace at Belvedere as this has a great art collection in particular the works of Gustav Klimt and many other great works of art. The building itself is spectacular as it was built as a Palace and never occupied as such, now serving as an Art Gallery. It also has a very nice cafe which looks out onto the gardens and Lower Belvedere.
There is, of course, a gift shop where one can buy memories at all budget levels.
Joseph Ryder — Google review
Very impressive grounds and buildings - worth a trip just to walk around outside. Of course, the main attraction is Klimt's "The Kiss", but there are many other wonderful works of art. It's not as large as some other galleries and as such, it only took us about an hour and a half to look around. We went towards the end of the day and it wasn't too busy.
We had the Vienna Pass and couldn't see how to pre-book tickets on line, so went to the ticket sales on the day to find out we didn't need a ticket and to just show the Vienna Pass at the main entrance.

Totally cool place to visit and see the architecture. The statues were very well done and detailed. The cafe was busy but looked like they had good food. There were people also taking wedding photos here which I thought would be a nice background. A very cool place to visit with historical relevance.

Lots of art, with something for everyone. I visited Upper and Lower Belvedere, Lower was much quieter (and a better cafe) on a 2 in 1 ticket. You could also get a 3 in 1 ticket for their other site, but after two days walking around Vienna and its palaces my feet couldnt take any more!

A beautiful palace to visit. The sun was shining and the gardens were beautiful! I would recommend you book tickets in advance as it can get very busy! If you love art, there’s plenty of beautiful portraits/works of art to admire! We particularly like the character heads! The palace itself is fantastic to wander around too!!

Beautiful place surrounded by large gardens. A must visit for all art history lovers, especially if you like Klimt. It's impressive both on the inside and from the outside.

Lovely park to walk through and sit and enjoy the view.
Unfortunately we went during the time of year where the fountains aren't on which was a shame. Regardless a nice park to walk through and sit and pass some time.
Plus.... Some "interesting" statues!

We bought our tickets online for the savings and grabbed coffee at a Greek restaurant across the street to wait. This is a nicely sized museum and we were comfortably able to see everything in the upper Belvedere ticket in a couple of hours. The Klimts are gorgeous and well displayed. Make sure to not miss the historic religious pieces that are in a climate controlled room off the lobby!

A wonderful experience as expected. An amazing building in stunning park. Baroque windows. Paintings clearly described in English. It is here that you can see the Kiss and other paintings by Klimt. We purchased our tickets online, which do require picking a time slot. We could stay there all day.

Beautiful Palace- the art collection well worth the visit. Beautiful building. Some areas in the grounds a little run down/messy which was surprising. Get there early and you'll get to view the Klimt collection without the crowds. We got there for opening time and it was getting very very busy as we left.
Jo Teal — Google review
We bought tickets online and there was no waiting time. But there was a small issue, they were renovating the part where you can store your luggage, so it was an extra effort to take it back to the HBf, to store it and to come back. The online ticket was valid for one hour, so you need to be careful to not miss it. The museum itself is a bit overrated and 17€ is really too much for it.

You can see Klimt's ``The Kiss'' and ``Judith.'' It also has a wide selection of works by Egon Schiele and Klimt, making it a recommended museum in Vienna.
The garden is also very large and beautiful.
You can buy admission tickets in advance online.

Don't buy ticket. Just go visit the garden.
Well the palace is huge and is ticked. However, the garden behind it captures its essence is what I had heard. The garden is open for all for free. It has beautiful sculptures, a lot of flora, and fountains. The sculptures are unique and perfect for time travel. The garden is extremely well kept and has flowers like tulip and lavender. One can breath the fragrance in the air. A lot of tourists stop here and so should you!
You can sit around and take a moment to absorb the beauty.
There's a small cafe there as well which too is open for all. They seemed to have a decent collection but they don't allow takeaway... They are strictly "dine-in" only. We were in a rush so couldn't sit in, but if you have time - the desserts looked good

I loved the Palace itself, it’s so gorgeous it’s actually a little overwhelming. The view is breathtaking to the point I felt like I was not paying enough attention to the art displayed inside.
This is one of the best, if not the best overall museum I have ever been to. Unfortunately my visit has been a bit tainted by the way I was greeted at the entrance. I was told to use the lockers on the left hand side, to my surprise those required a €2 coin to be inserted, which I did not have so started panicking a little, understandably - this visit was the highlight of my trip and having spent close to 8 hours travelling to Vienna, tiredness started catching up to me. I saw no mention of this on the website. In fact, I checked the FAQ prior to my visit as I contemplated heading to the hotel first, having been on the move since I arrived in Vienna earlier in the morning. For those interested, from Belvedere website: Yes, you will find lockers, free of charge, at all Belvedere locations.
How come was I directed to paid lockers? I can only imagine this was an attempt to get even more money from those visiting. Extremely disappointing and distasteful. I eventually headed to the cloakroom, where I was able to leave my backpack indeed free of charge.
I am the kind of person who always visits the museum gift shops to have something to bring back the memories, however on this occasion I decided not to purchase anything, purely because of the locker situation.
The Prater amusement park is a large public park in Vienna that has been popular with generations of Viennese. The park has a long history of hosting recreational activities, including a landmark giant wheel from 1897. In addition to its recreational value, the Prater is also home to Vienna's biggest stadium, the Ernst Happel Stadium. The area is huge and provides plenty of space for sport enthusiasts as well as shade for picnickers and strollers.
Really fun place, right outside the train station. We came by sunfall and enjoyed the beautiful lights after it went dark. The good rides cost at least 5 euro for person.

Great amusement park with a large variety of rides and activities. Not too crowded, waiting queues are small or rather nonexistent.
Good option for a date, family day, or some old fashioned adrenaline rush.
Ferris wheel is particularly charming during the sunset. It can get a bit windy and cold at the top depending on the season.

Love it, always a ton of fun! A bit on the pricey side, but keeping in mind this is an amusement park in the middle of Vienna, open basically every day, it makes sense to pay per ride. Fun for a quick trip, 2-3 rides and then off to grab something to eat.

I didn't expect much since we got the same attractions in Prague twice a year for several months, but the atmosphere is really great. And it gets even better after sunset with the bulb lights. I recommend going on a Booster and the high carousel during sunset. The view is stunning.

It's more of an amusement park. You'll find awesome rides and fun activities inside.
There are tons of food joints where you can eat while choosing rides.
It is good for kids as well as adults both. Inside you'll find rides, houses, food joints, water rides etc.
Moreover, it'll take an entire day if you enjoy it completely.
Highly recommended if you're visiting Vienna!!

This one of most important attractions in Vienna, and probably the best destination,,
It’s an open amusement park, with roller coasters, museums, indoor games, restaurants and much more,,
You can easily spend a day there without being bored,,
Main disadvantage, there isn’t like an “all pass”, you must buy your tickets for each ride, ahead of riding it, most of them cost around 5 euros, and some are more expensive,,

If you like loud places where a lot is happening Prater is right for you. But even then it is rather expensive, a lot of the rides cost 5 Euro, it adds up fast, especially if you are there with children. Still it's a place with great tradition which is worth visiting at least once.

This is a very nice theme park in Viena, and the entrance is free. You only pay per ride. There are numerous shops and restaurants where one can sit down and relax and rides for everyone, from the easygoing to the extreme adrenalin junkie. On a very hot day, such as what we experienced, it really helps that there are water rides as well. This is a great place for the whole family or couples.

The oldest Ferris wheel is definitely worth a visit. The views of Vienna from the top are fantastic and totally worth it. The little museum at the entrance showing the history of the city with little models is fantastic. And as far as the rest of the park is concerned, if you have kids and have a day to spend this is the perfect place.

Nice place to visit and a must go when you are in Vienna.
However being "free" to enter is misleading. The rides cost so much per person for one ride (mostly 5€ per person per ride) that it makes wanting to do most rides a very expensive visit. However it is nice being able to walk round and look at everything for free if you are not a fan of the rides.
Great to see at night when lit up.
The prater swing ride is great for views.

Castle Lednice is a magnificent 1800s palace constructed on top of a Renaissance chateau and Gothic fortress. It was owned by the Liechtenstein family for over three centuries until 1945, and remains a popular weekend destination in the country due to its splendid interiors and extensive gardens. The estate boasts formal gardens, an exotic-plant greenhouse, lakes with pleasure boats, and even a mock Turkish minaret that serves as an architectural example of excessive nobility during the 19th century.
Place is absolutely breathtaking and i was there in the winter. I can only imagine what it’s like in the summer when all the flowers bloom. Definitely need to go and see the architecture.
Andrew Fox — Google review
First of all the castle is a beautiful piece of architecture and the inside is also nice. BUT there are many things you should be aware of. The parking is complicated and you need czech coins to pay for it. Then the inside can only be visited with a Czech guide, who only speaks Czech. The castle is divided in part and you need a group tour to visit individually each of those parts. So to visit everything it takes ages. It pretty expensive to see everything with friends or family. The park is quiet and nice. Around 3-4 km to see all of it and reach the minaret by foot and come back. The minaret is also nice and beautiful. But again you need a guide and need to pay separately to see this part. Overall it's a nice place but the way it's organized is not convenient or not turned toward foreigners...
Julien GUYONVARCH — Google review
I visited the park several times, and in February 2024 I visited the interior of the castle for the first time.
A surprising arrangement that is really worth a visit.
We had an excellent guide who was born in one part of the castle (interesting stories). Minimum 1 day to visit the entire estate.

4 stars only because it's not open during off season (only on weekends in winter months). So unfortunately I could only walk around gardens. However the outside castle and garden are quite stunning. Parking is closeby but need to pay with CZK only.

Lednice castle is a small palace in Czech Republic near the Austrian border. The castle itself is simple in design but ornate in fenestration.
It has a large designed garden with trees and shrubs shaped by topiary work and specially designed vistas terminating at various points, most prominent being minaret. They have a green house also.
The township around is small and quiet. It's a good picnic point.
If you are not carrying food you need to be very punctual. All cafes in the palace premises and gardens close at 6 pm and all restaurants in the town, except burger restaurant close at 8 pm. Burger restaurant closes by 9-9.30. No other option in any nearby town other than one or two fast food outlets at the petrol stations on the highway, at least half an hour away.

The Kroměříž Archbishop's Palace is an opulent chateau featuring rococo rooms, frescoed ceilings, and an art museum surrounded by formal gardens. A three-hour train journey takes you to the town of Kromeriz, where the palace natural park can be found just a short walk from the station. The park boasts a vast 60-hectare space with ponds and rivulets. The palace houses original furniture used by its inhabitants and gifts from royal visitors.
Very nice, the only downside is that you can't take photos, I wonder why? In the other places it was possible. 90 minutes of driving, in Czech. So the beauty made up for the fact that I couldn't understand a word

Very bad experience.
Before I bought tickets to residence I explained that I am with two kids 2 and 3 years old and i asked I that is in fact possible to visit residence with kids. The manager said - no problem. He didn't say that it will be a group 20 people with a guide what makes visit impossible as kids will not stand and listen. We spoke in English so there could be no misunderstanding. Sure that after 15 minutes on excursion kids started run and were bored. And of corse I was asked to leave the group. So I didn't see anything and there was no return of money. When I said that they mustn't sell tickets to women with such small kids because visit in fact is not possible the manager said "that's not my problem". So I have a feeling that I was fooled. Be careful! Make a lot of questions before you visit this place!

The guide was professional and knew a lot about history of the palace. There is also plenty to see in the palace - 3 tours through different parts of palace full of history and paintings, and the tower giving view over the whole town.
Especially if visiting with family, I'd recommend to take the risk of missing a tour at a particular hour and buy tickets on site, so the nice ladies in the ticket office can pick the best combination for you and your kids.
Afterall, there are plenty options to spend an extra time - one can visit the palace tower, palace gardens (there is even a small zoo inside) or have a coffee in one of the coffee shops at the main town square.
There are plenty of stairs everywhere in the palace, so wheelchairs and strollers might be in disadvantage. There are also no tours tailored for small kids and there are plenty of information in the hour-long tour that young children might find too boring to pay attention to.
Petr Svir?k — Google review
A there hour train journey to Kroměříž that is worth every minute. And no,you don't need to take a bus from the train station to the town center. Simply walk a dozen of meters and you will fond the palace natural park stretching down near the station. It's huge 60 ha space full of ponds and rivulets. Just make sure to leave it at 5pm as gates close for the night.
The palace itself offers all original furniture used by its inhabitants, and presents brought by royal visitors. And do go all the way up to the tower. On a fall morning you will see the mists gradually unvailing the beauty of the main square.

The Fire Tower is a noteworthy historical structure in Sopron, constructed during the 13th century. Its spiral staircase, consisting of approximately 200 steps, leads up to a balcony that offers panoramic views of the town and surrounding countryside. Once utilized as an observation post for spotting fires, it now serves as a popular tourist attraction with an entry fee of around 1200 HUF per adult. The ascent to the top may involve some caution due to narrow stairs.

I would say this represents the focal point of Sopron and with the great 360 degree views from the tower is definitely worth a visit. But you can combine this scenic experience with cultural interest by including the lapidarium which contains carved stone elements, some dating back to Roman times. Also if you go down to the basement you are standing on part of an ancient Roman road.

Definitely the symbol of the city! Indeed it is really a gorgeous monument, which can be seen from different parts of the city! Anyway, it would be literally amazing if you can even acces it to enjoy an amazing view of the city but I am not 100% sure this is not possible to do!

The biggest site in Sopron, the fire tower is a must visit. A former tower used to spot fires. You have to pay something like 1200 HUF to visit for an adult. There are only stairs to go up, but its not that many, and you actually do not go to the very top of the tower. Along the way are some visuals and descriptions that explain the history of the tower and the city. At the top the views are great, overlooking the entire city and countryside.

Wonderful place for family’s time spending.
A wide range of goods for different time of season. A big variety of shoes and bags.
You can choose everything for eating and dinking for any type of wallet.
Also, a big advantage is a location. All interests and conveniences for disorder people are taking into account.
Several times have been there and will continue choosing this place again.
Enough space for parking, a few hotels are around.
Little consumers have a lot of privileges. This place is an inclusive area for shopping!

Even though the outlet was crowded (especially for a Monday morning), it was a pleasant visit to this outlet. It is really impressive that everywhere there are boards leading you to wherever you want to go. This is perfect, especially if you’re only visiting specific stores. The parking is FREE! That’s a plus 😁

A huge outlet 40 km from Vienna. If you don't want to spend the whole day here, before arriving, choose the shops you want to visit and mark them on the map. Everything is clean, tidy, you can drink coffee, eat a sandwich, rest. The prices are much lower than in regular stores...

One of the best outlets in Europe. Quality shops and a lot of good restaurants and cafes in the complex. They have most of the popular brands here. Only down side the the commute to the area if you are staying in Vienna. Specially going back at night. Since the traffics can get bad at closing time. I suggest leaving 1-2hrs before closing. Pls also check their operation hours specially holidays and they are close on Sundays. Overall. It is worth visiting specially if you have a 3 or more days in Vienna.

The beautiful white box on a hill high above the Danube is Bratislava Castle, which is often overlooked because it's not a popular tourist destination. However, despite its lack of visitor traffic, the castle has some great sights to offer including fantastic views over the Old Town, the Danube and housing estate Petrzalka on the banks of the river. The castle also contains a history museum with many chambers that are underused but still worth visiting.
Really nice little town famous for its colourful church. The short but steep walk to the castle affords great views. One route is by many steps, the other by a steep slope, it can be a bit slippy underfoot

A landmark of Bratislava this castle is situated on a hill overlooking not only the city but Austria and Hungary as well. It has been reconstructed many times throughout history and it has well preserved gardens and yard. We did not go inside, maybe another time. It offers unique views of the city's bridges, the river Danube, the cathedrals and the old and new buildings. Apart from the tourists and tourist groups, we saw local people there doing sports, taking their dogs out or just going for a walk. It's a lovely place to visit anytime of the day and at night it can be seen beautifully lighted from many parts of the city.

It was a one in a life time experience for me and my family. The history was incredible, and the views were fantastic. If you ever decide to take a backpacking trip across Eastern Europe with a friend or family, you have got to stop and take your amazing pictures here! And go through the museum too.

Beautiful castle on top of hill. The views from there are amazing. There is also a playground there in the shade. There are chairs around for the adults. The grounds are free to visit, which is fantastic. The baroque gardens are well maintained and beautiful.

Beautiful Castle! We didn't spend much time here, probably 30 minutes. We were on a tour of the City, and we were only able to walk around a little bit before getting on a bus to visit the rest of the City. There are great views of the City and the Danube River from here. The gardens on the north side of castle are beautiful as well.

It is a very well maintained castle with beautiful gardens. But I feel like the 5 were missing. There is one panel at the entrance with details regarding the castle, but after this point, I couldn't find any other explanation. If you are bad with memory, like I am, you wouldn't know what you are seeing. Overall, the experience is nice and worth it. The views from the castle are amazing!

A nice Slovak monument, though, a place that could use a bit of detailed attention. It seems new but somehow falls behind similar places, missing soul somehow.
I like it the best at night when the surroundings are not full of people (you can, however, meet younger people drinking there at that time. Still worth seeing and walking in and around. Makes up for nice pictures.

The must-visit place in Bratislava, which written history begins in 907, can be seen from many places in the city. The castle offers panoramic views and a rich historical experience. A nice place to visit while in Bratislava. Honestly, for me it's just a castle 😅. But have to admit that you see a nice view of the city as u go up. It overlooks the UGO tower and city bridge. Plus u can see windmills in Vienna and there is also a beautiful meadow to relax.

Not the traditional castle looking, it’s rectangular building with towers at each corner. It’s historical and nice looking you can overlook Danube river. We enjoyed our visit. 2-3 hours requires to see entire building and surroundings.

I liked the walk up to the castle and the views of the city from the top. I didn't get to go inside because it was closed, but I still spent about 2 hours wandering around and absorbing the beautiful views of the city and the river.

We enjoyed the views from the outside and walking around the exterior of the Castle but the inside is very odd. It's not expensive but, there isn't much to see, it's all spread out inside so there's lots of walking and stairs and the architecture isn't very interesting. For some it might appeal but, we weren't very impressed.

Nice walk from the Old City but be prepared for steep climbs. Amazing views I’d the city and surround area. Didn’t go inside the castle but you can wander the grounds freely.

Very cute place. You can enjoy the views and gardens for free.
If you want to get inside you have to pay for a ticket, the museum was not very big and with different things not related to the castle such as more contemporary history and modern art. If you are not a big fan you could skip it and enjoy instead the views and take pictures from outside the castle

Nice castle and a fun walk through little streets to get there. The castle had been destroyed and rebuild so it looks pretty new and doesn’t have that typical castle feel. Fun to walk around it and enjoy the view and the garden without having to pay entrance!
It’s not a very big area, we walked around for about 30 minutes.

What a beautiful view to watch another leisurely day come to an end. Worth the short hike up. A must see for any tourist. The bathrooms were not open after hours when I visited though or I couldn't find them. The map was not helpful in that regard.

Castle is well worth the visit - and it’s free. The view is great. But, the museum costs money ….. however, it’s half price for seniors and students and it’s absolutely brilliant. I rushed around and that took two hours. It’s massive. Archaeological and History. Great icon art. It’s well worth a visit

We didn’t go inside the museum, but the grounds are beautiful and so peaceful! I was surprised how few people were in the gardens. I sat on an bench out there for a while, and it was very relaxing. It’s way up on a hill, but definitely worth the walk!

I really love this castle; it's so pretty, even when you're far away. Just a little climb from the bus station, and you'll be there. The view from up there and the castle itself are both incredibly beautiful. If you're into stunning sights and don't mind a short uphill walk, you'll be amazed by this charming castle and the fantastic view.

Definitely a must see in Bratislava! The rebuilt castle made an incredible impression on me. It looks fabulous from the outside, the gardens are also beautiful, and the interior of the castle is very elegantly decorated. It's actually a castle, but there is a large museum there that is really worth visiting! You can easily spend 3-4 hours visiting. the tower offers a great panorama of the city. A ticket to the museum costs €12.

Definitely a must see in Bratislava! The castle looks stunning even in the winter from both outside and inside, the gardens are also beautiful, and the interior of the castle is very elegantly decorated in white and gold, and red. A ticket to the museum costs €12 per person and I love the Christmas market outside in the yard, one of the best wines I have tried, I definitively recommend visiting.

This is a very basic caste on the outside and inside. The museum was minimal. On the first Wednesday of each month the entrance fee is free. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. The best part is the view from this location to the river and city below. There is a castle parking garage that has stairs that go up to the castle hill and it’s not a far walk to the castle entrance.
Travelbuff — Google review
Great views over the city and pleasant park. The castle itself is a cold, soulless rebuild from the 1950s, with empty and white interiors. Decent museum collection though. Can't miss it when here but not a must see either.

If you are in Bratislava, you must definitely visit its castle. The area that you see around the castle, as you walk to it, it's very nice and it's something different than the old town. The castle is quite big and located on the top, which makes it a great spot for photos and a view of the city. You can enjoy a walk around it, do some contemplating while your eyes run through the city and go down from the small roads on the rear side, for some mote exploration.
I read that the castle inside hasn't got much to offer, so I can't have an honest opinion, as I trusted the fellow reviewer and didn't visit sas well..
The captivating Old Town in Bratislava houses the stunning Bratislava Castle, which offers panoramic city views. Adorned with vibrant glazed tiles, the Blue Church is another must-see attraction. Medická záhrada park features numerous sculptures, while designer boutiques are located along Nedbalova street. Main Square is packed with clubs and cocktail bars, and dining options range from traditional Slovak pubs to vegetarian cafes and international cuisine establishments.
The unusual Čumil sculpture park is a must-see attraction in Bratislava. It's home to strange statues of all shapes and sizes, some with a point and others well and truly pointless. The most interesting are found in the wooded area outside the park, with great poses to take funny and cute photos.
Unique and special statues are around Bratislava city centre with a story behind them and great poses to take some funny and cute pictures

The ever famous statue of Cumil is well known in slovakia, especially in the old town bratislava area. Several stories were shared on how this came about, either he is relentlessly working hard due to nonstop work and he did this post to depict that even if he is tired, he is still dedicated. Another story goes that he is a slacker, and just rests the whole day. Either way, he is now a symbol of hardwork.
They say that you need to touch his head to receive goodluck. You can see this figure in tourist souvenir shops along with the other statues in the old town area.

This was a cute little figurine in the old town of Bratislava. We visited Cumil, clicked pictures with him and he bid us goodbye graciously. This was a nice addition to the trip. We also saw the #menatwork sign beside him to prevent people from falling down at night

a pleasant, creative monument, one of those that remain in the memory after visiting the city more than the huge monumental buildings!
Fiodor Kaloev — Google review
This is surely a quirky statue in Bratislava, the Capital of the Slovak Republic. His name is Čumil, the Slovak word actually means “watcher”. It only takes a quick glance at the face of the man at work at the junction of Laurinská and Panská Streets to understand why he goes by the name “the watcher”. The bronze statue, with a grin on his face, peeks his head from underneath a manhole cover in the Old Town and he is popular among tourists and locals alike. You cannot visit Bratislava without saying hi to Čumil! And make sure to take a photo – this is actually one of the most photographed objects in Bratislava.
Čumil is one of many statues in the Old Town of Bratislava. Other statues include Paparazzi, Schöner Náci, and Napoleon’s Soldier. These statues appeared in 1997, a couple of years after Slovak independence. This was at a time when the city was polishing its image after its Communist past. Čumil is the work of Slovak sculptor Viktor Hulík. The artist was born in 1947 in Bratislava.
As for Čumil, there are a couple of theories about his name. Maybe he’s resting after a hard day’s work cleaning the sewers or perhaps he’s a typical communist-era worker who works little and watches a lot or maybe he’s just trying to get a look under the ladies’ skirts.... Anyway, this sympathetic man seems to enjoy his surroundings.
There are careless drivers everywhere and Bratislava is no exception! The poor statue actually lost his head twice. Because of this, he was given his own road sign that reminds passers-by of the man at work.
Legend has it that those who touch the head of the man will get a wish come true – if they manage to keep it a secret forever.
How to find Him?
The best way to find this spot is on foot. Amongst the cafés, restaurants, and shops of the Old Town, you will find the statue. It is situated in the front the corner of Rybárska brána (Fishermen’s gate), at the junction of Panská and Laurinská streets. Just follow the crowds and as I already said, bring your camera! There’s often a street band playing in the corner as well.
Dinh Tuan — Google review
Just as Bratislava Castle is a symbol of the city of Bratislava, the bronze statue of Čumil (literally "the Gaper") is a symbol of busy streets in the center of Bratislava. Čumil peeks out of the canal, smiles, and looks dreamy into the distance. The bronze statue of Čumil enjoys great popularity among children and tourists from every corner of the world who are happy to take pictures standing next to him.
Čumil has been decorating the intersection of Laurinská, Panská and Rybia gates since 1997. The statue was made by Viktor Hulík. The statue was not based on any model and no ancient story is associated with it. In fact, it is the embodiment of the heart atmosphere of the historical center of Bratislava.
Tony G — Google review
A statue with absolutely no value and important history. Just there for the fun of it. Always crowded
Rose Direk — Google review
Funny man and cool story behind the statue. If you touch his head, you get a lifetime of good luck. But! If you touch his nose, you will get pregnant🤰 I will let you know in 9 months how it’s going!

For free and hard to miss in the heart of the city. One of the many sculptures on the road downtown. Nicely done and during day time there is a queue for taking pictures. If you stay overnight you may consider going in the evening or earlier morning. Consider to see some of the other spots as well and not only the ones marked in the maps. There are plenty around.

Difficult to find this, as its not a very huge sculpture. Please observe properly on the street and there is a pole beside that where Men in Work is displayed. Something very unique. Don't forget to rub his helmet before leaving the place. Have a great time and a picture is a must for a memory. Great place to visit anytime in a year. doesn't matter what the weather is .

Firstly, I didn't know about this statue. I just came across and saw it. I had a feeling that I needed to take a picture here. I was looking into details deeply. Translation of the word Čumil as “The watcher.“ The first rumour says that he is a typical communist-era worker who is not bothered about the work he’s presumed to be doing. According to the next rumour, he’s staring under the women’s skirts. This most photographed statue of old town. It also attracts many tourists at the junction of Laurinská and Panská streets.

In search of a unique identity, many cities in both Eastern and Western Europe have sought ways to make visitors remember the location. This is an example of effective communication. To some extent, the window, which appears (has appeared) in too many forms of souvenirs, on postcards when they still existed, in glass balls, ... It still attracts visitors who take photos in all possible and less possible and tasteful forms. Still nice and interesting. Two different recordings, two different occasions...

Čumil - There are two possible explanations for his name. One explanation refers to the worker resting at his work. Another explanation claims that the worker took advantage of his workplace and looked up the skirts of women walking past. A legend says that if you touch the man's head, a wish will come true. This is also one reason why the head is so polished. It’s definitely worth to see the sculpture. I can highly recommend it!
Alper K. — Google review
The statue's name, Čumil, translates to "watcher" or "looker" in Slovak, and it is thought to represent someone who enjoys observing the world around them.
It has become such a beloved figure in Bratislava that the statue's head has been polished shiny from the tradition where people rub its head for good luck.

Cumil, the iconic bronze sculpture in Bratislava, is a quirky and endearing landmark. This mischievous man peeking out of a manhole captures the city's playful spirit. It's a fun and photo-worthy attraction that adds character to the Old Town. A delightful symbol of Bratislava's unique charm.

You won’t have any difficulty finding this statue, very easy to find (old town, not far from the old National Theatre building). It’s a popular spot. Rumour has it if you touch the head it brings you luck, and for ladies if they touch the nose apparently a nice surprise in about 9 months lol

The Blue Church is a beautiful, baby-blue art nouveau church designed in the early 1900s. It's located east of the Old Town, and is perhaps the least well-known landmark on Bratislava's list. Architecturally speaking, it is a gem.
A one of a kind blue church. It has the same colour theme inside. It worth making the walk from old town to view this unique but beautiful church. Give a look to the opening hours before visiting as they are a bit odd.

One of the most unique churches. The blue color is so soothing. Very beautiful architecture and color. But unfortunately we couldn't go inside the church. Do check the timings before visiting. And I just wish people wouldn't park the vehicles exactly in front of the church, that ruins it's beauty.

Approaching the church, I was immediately struck by its exquisite Gothic architecture and ornate detailing. The towering spire and intricate stone carvings adorned the exterior, hinting at the awe-inspiring treasures within. The rich history and cultural significance of this sacred site were palpable from the moment I set foot inside.
Stepping into the church, I was enveloped by a profound sense of calm and serenity. The soft lighting, soaring ceilings, and hushed atmosphere created an ambiance that invited quiet contemplation and introspection.

We honestly didn't go inside as prayer was going on and we didn't wish to disturb. But I loved the exteriors of this church, reminds me of some nicely done icing on a chocolate cake! Doesn't it? We tried a lot of angles but wasn't able to capture its beauty. Would definitely recommend stopping here. It's a photo spot, the one where the real place looks better than what you would be able to capture for your reel!

A beautiful Hungarian seccessionist Catholic church by Odon Lechner from early 20th century, part of the equally nice high school right next to it.
Main altar depicts saint Elisabeth who is giving some bread to the poor, when accused of stealing the bread has turned to roses, hence plenty of floral motifs in the church.

Short review: there’s really nothing much to it.
Longer review: The Blue Church is a very beautiful and interesting church with its iconic blue color and architectural features, it makes an interesting stop by to take some beautiful pictures and admire the art, but that’s it, a quick stop. Given that it is separated a bit from the other attractions and it’s open at specific times only, you wouldn’t be missing out on a lot if you don’t make a stop here.

This was easy to find and in a walkable distance. This sits perfectly on the main road so no need for any tickets unless you want to go inside. We didn't get into the details. I really wanted to see this place for myself as I couldn't believe the images I saw prior to this. God, this looks like cake decor. So surreal. Many people stopped by to take pictures. This place had more disturbing tourists than anywhere else, demanding me to move out of the way of their pictures, although I was there before them and also took pictures, idk. Anyway passed by twice, there was always some girl or group taking pictures. Not that holy place anymore I guess. I really liked it. It would be so good if the castle was made in the same manner. The church is a gem, and so is the building right next to it. Not sure how it happened to be so modernistic, but I'm glad it did. Hopefully a lot of other places in Bratislava will get this makeover, as some are in dire need of such. Close by I recommend Medicka zagrada

The Blue Church in Bratislava is a charming sight to behold, with its distinctive blue facade and intricate details. Unfortunately, during our visit, we were disappointed to find that it was closed to visitors. While the exterior certainly catches the eye and is worth admiring from the outside, the inability to explore its interior detracted from the overall experience. Nonetheless, it undeniably adds to the architectural beauty of Bratislava's cityscape.
Nitra Castle, an imposing fortress constructed in the 11th century, boasts a cathedral at its core and offers breathtaking hilltop vistas of the surrounding area. This historic gem is home to a museum with collections displayed in an underground tunnel-like structure for exploration at a nominal charge. The bishop vestments are particularly impressive, and visitors can join guided tours to the top of the bell tower for unparalleled views.

Drove a long ways to get here, and it was pretty cool, but essentially it's just another church with part of a castle built around it. I get a lot of people get excited about churches, but to me they are a representation of some very dark times in humanity, to this day they still are. If you are driving and you want to see the city and you do want to see the church then I recommend it. But I think there's some other castles that are not far that I would recommend more than this one. It wasn't some thing that was like wow this was so cool. Trencin or Beskov are the real deal

Beautiful, historic and well worth the effort to go here. The collections on display are exhibited in an underground tunnel-like structure, and for a small fee can be explored. The array of bishop vestments is impressive as you join the guided tour to the bell tower. The view from the top is stunning. Take some time to go into the church.

This place is worth to visit. I mean if you visited Nitra and never got to the catle hill then you should not say someone that you were in this city. Go up there, it is just couple of stairs but beautiful view, historical building with cool coffee place.

It’s not very big and crowded. Entry is for a fee. There is a restaurant or coffee shop on the top of the wall. The church inside is functional and very beautiful inside. There is a monument for Roman Pope Francis. Parking limited and access to castle is not very convenient for wheelchairs.

I truly suggest to see this castle. It is small, but it is super nice. We parked 500m from the castle and that road up to the castle it is amazing. Unfortunately the museum was close, but still we spent there more than 1h.

You must visit Nitra castle if you are visiting Nitra. It has wonderful views, you can see far away. You can also visit the church& around the castle. There’s also underground space to visit. There’s a small fee to pay,but worth it. There are toilets & a am all souvenir shop. You can get there with a buggy but it’s a bit stoney &loads of steps. There’s loads of events organised here. Definitely worth visiting, love the view.
Pannonhalma Archabbey is a Benedictine monastery established in 996 that boasts of impressive Baroque and Gothic architecture. It holds immense historical significance as it was the site where Arpad, the legendary conqueror, expressed his delight with the beauty of his new territory. Visitors can explore St Martin's Basilica, a 13th-century crypt, and an exceptional neoclassical library with an audio guide.
great place for a family short journey. Parking is near the church, loacated at visitor center. Go up with the stairway, and walk around the wall, you can find the entrance. It makes us shocked that they have an audio guide in Chinese, which is quite good for us to better understand the history.

It is really a hidden pearl in this region. The abbey at the hills. A lot of possibilities to walk around. You can visit some areas inside the abbey, the most impressive for me was library.

This place is a Unesco Heritage site and holds a great meaning for the Hungarian nation as it is the first building of this kind in the whole of Hungary and played a major role not only as a religious centre but also as a cultural one, since there is also a school. The beautiful library has a collection of 4000 volumes and contains ancient documents where some words of hungarian language were firstly ever used in an official document

Applauds for the Benedictine Order for keep up this place and continuously developing it over a millennium! One of the first UNESCO Heritage sites in Hungary and definitely a place NOT to be missed.

Beautiful place you can spend whole day. Satisfying for those, who seek spiritual, historical and also environmental rest. Arciabbey with basilica, monastery, library, lavender and other herbs fields, arboretum, and down in the town - nice pizza, beverages places - this all is worth visiting. No problem with utilities - parking, toilets. Whole farm, parking lot & tourist centres are financed from EU funds so it is freshly new and modern.

The Abbey has a parking with cover and good price. Then you go on a pathway and get a ticket and access the place. The church, the cloister (only from outside), the library, temporary exhibition can ce visited. Family ticket is very good deal. The shop has lots of interesting products and items.
Veszprém Zoo has undergone significant improvements in recent years, transforming into a child-friendly destination with safari-style exhibits and ample entertainment options. The zoo now features spacious, modern enclosures for its diverse range of animals, including elephants, lions, rhinos, bears, giraffes, and monkeys. Visitors can explore attractions such as Chimpanzee World and Bobe Monkey's School Education while enjoying the 300-square-meter indoor playhouse Kid Jungle.
Perfect place to spend a day with family! The restaurant next to the gate is somewhat cheap, albeit sorta generic, nothing fancy. You can find a lot of places grab a bite thorough the way you walk through.
Andras Beck — Google review
We spent 6 hours there with two kids. It was a cloudy day with short spring showers, but there are plenty of shady places with branches as well if you come on a sunny day. Good for a whole day with lunch in place for a family. Don't rush. Sit down and let the place impress you!
Andor Bogd?ny — Google review
All of the ethical cons for zoos aside, this one has a particularly terrible ratio of employees and customers. There should definitely be at least one person with sheeps, forbidding terrible behavior (chasing animals with sticks, throwing object at them etc.) and teaching proper interactions with animals. The cage for guinea pigs is too small in size for all of the piggies, not to mention that you can't pet these naturally cuddly animals. While I understand they keep them as food for their reptiles, GPs still deserve to live in a nice, well-put together environment.
The little staff that they do have speak rather poor english, but are very very kind and patient.

The zoo is nice especially for children. Not too big with lot’s of playing, stopping and animal-feeding opportunities
Elkana Bronstein — Google review
Good place to spend 3-4 hours with/without kids, it is a bit pricey though. There are restaurants inside, but avoid the hot dogs, they are disappointing. Better just eat before you go. There are not too many shades so have sunblock on you.

This zoo was a very positive surprise for me. The animals has enough places, there are small and big animals as well, elephants, lions, rhinos, bears, giraffes, monkeys and so on. The big open dooms for birds was so impressive. There is wide, convenient routes for the visitors, the restrooms are so clean, there is big playground for the kids, so I definitelly recommend for families with small children. We put this zoo to our favorite tourist target lists.

The zoo was amazing but the service in the stores was terrible. It was 3 stores next to each other and the employees are sitting there with their phones. And when we choose what we want, she comes to us and is angry and screams like an angry bear that she has to serve us. I am disappointed.

One of our favorite Zoo. Huge plus for having a dinosaurus exhibition, kids activity corners and also a huge playground. So much fun things to do with kids there. Animals were beautiful and had so much space.
The hot dogs were surprisingly tasty and also Ok price comparing to other zoo's.
Definitely coming back.

This was suprisingly excellent zoo. Species which I not saw anywhere else. Even the place was crowded, there was enough space everywhere to see animals and chill out. Also the refreshment was good and delicious. I'm recommending to visit this place.
Jan Janku — Google review
There are many activites for children such as great playground areas and a big petting zoo with many different animal species. You can also purchase some food to feed the animals. It is clean and easy to get around. The Zoo doesnt have that big of a variety of animals but it is nicely executed and I highly recommend it to families with children.

Absolutely loved it, also I wasn't prepared for the size of the Zoo. It has a new and old part which you can tell from the age of the equipment.
Together it was a great time to see some rare animals.
You have options for food, coffee, plenty of toilets on your way.

We loved this Zoo. The animals, the nice shady walks and the whole experience. We had to come twice to see it all and make most of the playgrounds too.

This is a very nice ZOO, great enclosures for animals. Enough stalls with refreshment. There is also a dinopark and I must say it's the nicest one I've seen so far. The only thing is they don't give/sell any ZOO maps, there are just boards with them inside.

The Siofok Water Tower, located in the city center, is a historic structure that provides unrestricted views of both the town and countryside. Upon purchasing a ticket at the entrance, visitors can ascend to the top via one of several lifts and enjoy coffee and cake at the cafe before proceeding up some additional steps to take in panoramic views from atop this unique rotating tower. Overall, it's an intriguing building that offers more than expected for those seeking breathtaking vistas.
We got free tickets, because I am a wheelchair user and my brother, because he was my escort. Very nice and helpful staff.
We were able to see only the first floor, but it was interesting.
Its a shame the descriptions of the people there were just in Hungarian.
Otherwise a great sight to see :)

Was far better when the revolving floor was functioning. Where you could have a drink and have a 360 view from your seat. Now it's just a museum which would have been better situated in a ground building. Should have left it as it was..

Really nice plaza!
A tourist information office is directly below the tower. Tower was renovated this year to celebrate the 100 years. Came on the 2nd weekend of October and coincidentally there was a festival/fair with lots of food stands and live music. Close to the shopping mall and some nice restaurants around it. You can walk around the park that is in front.

The tower is an interesting building and I dare to say it offers more than I had expected. You must buy a ticket at the entrance, then take one of the lifts that bring you up and just enjoy your coffee and cake in the cafe at the top. There you can climb some more steps and enjoy the view and still have your treat of coffee there. The top of the tower is turning around slowly. Really amazing!

One star is only for the beautiful sunset over Siófok that we managed to see during our visit. Totally overpriced and the staff that works there turned out to be absolutely unfriendly and unpleasant: we had some misunderstanding because she didn't speak English well. Weird thing considering that it is a tourist attraction that is visited not only by Hungarian-speaking people
Veronika Köhl — Google review
Very central lookout point to see Siófok and the lake from a distance. It costs some to get in, but there's a little cafe and a spinning seated, windowed area at the top to relax and enjoy the view. One stair level down from the cafe is a terrace with open air view and walking space to see everything without windows.

The Basilica of Esztergom is a grand neoclassical church built between 1822 and 1856, situated on Castle Hill in Hungary. It is the largest church in Hungary, with an ornate interior, towering central dome that can be seen from afar, and a crypt. Jozsef Hild contributed to the final stages of its design. The original 12th-century church was destroyed by the Turks.
It is simply HUGE. Must visit from Budapest. It’s super close and the view from there it’s very nice. Also cross the border to Slovakia 🇸🇰 it’s recommended. There’s a small art exhibition at the entrance which was, surprisingly, good. All in all a great day trip

If you're looking for a really cool place to visit, you should check out the Basilica of Esztergom. It's a big, beautiful church that's super old and has lots of interesting things to see.
One of the best parts is the really tall tower you can climb to get a great view of the whole city. It's a little bit of a hike, but totally worth it for the awesome views. And don't forget to look up at the ceiling inside the church – there are some really cool paintings and decorations up there.
There are also lots of statues and artwork around the cathedral that are really fun to look at. My favorite was a big, shiny crown that's hanging in one of the rooms. It's super fancy and sparkly, and it was used by lots of important people a long time ago.
Overall, the cathedral of Esztergom is a really neat place to visit. I bet you'll have a great time exploring all the different parts of it. Just make sure to be respectful and quiet while you're inside the church part. Happy exploring!

TBF when I visited, there was a renovation going on so I'm not so sure I'll be able to rate it with %100 clarity. The basilica itself was great and it's so cool to see that nearly every part of the building is still standing. The remnants inside and the treasury were great. I'm not that into body parts being kept for viewers though. Still, it was pleasant. Suggest you visit it. And while you're there, drink a tea in Slovakia.

While the renovation makes it difficult to see the Basilica in its full glory, it is still an amazing sight to visit during a day out in Esztergom! The church interior is amazing and we were still able to appreciate it despite the work and drilling in the background…The basilica also offers a tour of its dome. It is a place full of history and is the biggest church in Hungary.

Must place to visit if you're in Budapest or you visit as a tourist . This is the oldest church and is situated in Esztergom where you can take a local train from Budapest. You can take a peaceful walk before the Church premises and we need a ticket to have a look from top view. We can see the Slovakian bridge from the backside of the monument. Treasure kept inside is worth watching and the relics of kings are kept safe.

Magnificent and holy. Although currently under renovation, which means the central dome cannot be seen in all glory, it is still outstanding and enormous. Blessed are those who have not seen, and believe.

Beautiful basilica, absolutely huge, dominating the skyline. It's best seen from across the river on the Slovak side or directly in front to see its true size. Can walk around the exterior for views of the river and Slovak countryside. Highly recommend.

Nice basilica, unfurtunatelly currently under reconstruction. The entry is free, you have to pay for the treasury and/or crypt only. However, the treasury is must see if you like treasures 😀 Parking is free below the basilica on the right.

Even with the construction site it is impressive. To see how they rebuild it is actually a nice extra.
To climb the stairs to the cupola is fun. Start from the Alley of Cats!
Well organized and clean.
It would be even better if there were no cars and parking directly in the front, cars just make the scenery ugly.
Prepare yourself with some history of Esztergom before visiting.

A great day out with family. The weather was perfect for a walk around the top of the dome. 400 steps up inside the Basilica and then a walkway around the outside, not for the faint hearted. I'm glad we went. The views were spectacular. It's worth visiting even if you don't want to go to the top. The treasury and crypt are well worth visiting.

It`s a must to visit if you have the chance. Second largest building in the country and very important one. Unfortunatly it is under renovation which will take up to a few more years so inside is a big of chaos, the statues are removed, a great part of
the pavement is picked up, there are just a few benches for the ones who attend the mass. The 80 m high tower however is worth visiting, there are guided turns every hour, must climb more than 400 steps but the view compensates all.

The building is wonderful achievement of architecture. The gardens are also very relaxing. The art was not in line with our tastes, too heavy paintings, sculpture also massive, but the collection was impressive nonetheless. No English panels or info, you have to go online. Ticket a bit expensive.

The castle was built by Jenő Bory (1879-1959).
Unfortunately, the manor house was closed, so many of us who wanted to see it stayed in front of the otherwise nicely decorated fence. However, the statues and sculptures that I saw from the outside arouse curiosity. these are definitely objects worth seeing. Next time.

A very nice attraction out of Budapest. The castle is worth to visit. A short train ride around 45-50 minutes from Budapest. The city itself is very nice. Once you reach the train station, buy the bus ticket from the machine for discounted price or you can also buy from the driver using cash for 400 forints per ticket. Take any bus that’s going to the castle such as bus number 32 and the bus stop is just outside the train station. The castle is pretty nice, beautifully designed and some interesting stuff to see inside the castle. Recommended if you want to see something outside of Budapest.

The biggest highlight in town, the castle does not disappoint. For 2000 Huf per person its definitely worth it. The lady gave us a folder with a description of the entire museum/castle in English.
