Myouryuji (Ninja Temple), a Buddhist temple in Atami, Japan, is well known for its deceptive defenses, including trap staircases and concealed stairs. The temple also houses labyrinth stairs, lookout areas, traps, trick offering boxes, and more.
Awesome tour and English guide book! Excellent tour well worth seeing, make sure you call in advance and book. English guide book where you can easily follow along. Very interesting information and easy to follow and understand with the demonstrations and English guide book. Friendly and helpful staff. Lockers outside for valuables. No photos inside or during the tour. Leave large bags in the baggage room. Will definitely bring visitors here, very fun!

Very interesting temple sometimes visited by the feudal lord. Not really related to ninjas but has traps and secret rooms. Unfortunately, no photography allowed inside. Tour reservation is necessary.
Dan Davidson — Google review
Not a ninja temple but it's got a cool history and architecture. Tours are in Japanese but you'll be given an English guide to follow along. You must book beforehand. You can do this at the venue though. They have basic English when reserving but better to practice your Japanese. Not suitable for people with small kids or mobility issues.
Rebecca Powell — Google review
Please visit, if you like a ninja stuff.
Andrew Mathew — Google review
Worth visiting! Don't let the website or guidebooks deter you: you can show up the day if and ask at the shrine shop for a reservation and hopefully join the next tour! Tours are in Japanese, but an English guidebook with pictures explains everything in sufficient detail. No photos allowed inside, but you'll remember what you saw. Not wheelchair accessible.

Myouryuji Temple, also known as the 'ninja' temple, is a fascinating place to visit in Kanazawa. While it's not actually a temple used by ninjas, it does have a lot of traps and nifty hidden tricks that make it an exciting and unique experience. If you plan to visit, it's important to note that you must book a tour prior to coming to the temple. You cannot buy tickets right off the bat. Unfortunately, we didn't know this and arrived at 9am, but we were able to book a tour for 11am afterwards.
JJ — Google review
Ninja Temple, well not really a ninja temple. Just a place that a lord built to keep himself safe from attacks. It's called Ninja Temple because of all the contraptions used to keep the temple safe from attackers. Can get the tickets on that day by reaching the intercom near the temple as you are NOT allowed in without a guide. The tour is conducted strictly in Japanese with a English guidebook used as a reference so have to use your common sense to know what part your tour guide is talking about. Otherwise it is a nice place with interesting ways for a lord to keep himself safe. Will only attend again with others who haven't visited the temple. Overall liked it but wasn't very outstanding.
Aravind Sivakumaran — Google review
Very interesting and interesting designed Buddhist temple. We had heard of the secret floors etc to make temples more resistant to attack so good to see in person. About the tour itself, it takes about 40 minutes. You need to reserve in advance and it costs 1200yen per person. There are only Japanese guides but they provide a booklet with English descriptions that you can read at each stop. The tour guide we had was quite cold/a bit rude to my ears, not on par with the service we'd received in other places. Overall worthwhile to go if you have the time just don't expect a friendly guide.
Ollie O — Google review
I had read some good reviews about this place and gave it a chance. Recommend to book in advance, as they only offer guided tours in Japanese (I believe there’s some English translation book) for which you need to get yourself a spot depending on the schedule. We were very lucky that arrived just before a tour commenced and they had spots available. That’s the reason why it costs 1200 yen (which is high for a temple in Japan) but I found the tour quite fun and interesting. This was a temple used back in the feudal era in Japan and was built with some strategical passages and stairs to confuse enemies. The tour takes 40 minutes in total but it goes quite fast.
Juan Tomas Rodriguez — Google review
Amazing place, but don’t neglect that bookings are mandatory (especially if you can’t understand Japanese and need an interpreter) Well worth visiting, and has nothing to do with ninjas!
Simon Noreika — Google review
Definitely worth the visit to this very unique temple with its secret rooms and hidden staircases. We found it easy to to get a tour reservation - just head to the intercom speaker next to the small shop and push the button to ask to be added to the next tour. While the tour is in Japanese, they provide a booklet that explains each of the stops along the tour in English. It costs ¥1,000 per person with payment in cash at the start of the tour. No shoes or photography allowed while inside.
David Jiang — Google review
Worth a visit - entry is about 1000 yen, we were allowed to join the next tour with no reservation but I believe it is dependent on spot availability. We were the last group for the day so perhaps this is why there were spots still. The tours are in Japanese, but an English guidebook with pictures explains everything in enough detail to put one and two together. Note, if you can speak Japanese and you are going with someone that can't, it is advised that you are not allowed to translate on their behalf as this is very disruptive to the tourguide's explanations. No photos allowed inside. Not wheelchair accessible. You will be required to walk down and up some narrow staircases.
Kim — Google review
No translation at all except an English booklet was handed out. I am very impressed that they are making an effort to preserve the language. Well done. No photos are allowed. That's wonderful and showing respect.
Regu Pillai — Google review
40 min tour of the temple. Although the tour is conducted in Japanese but you’ll get an English folder which explains each station. Temple is not built for ninjas but designed to trick spies and enemies. You will need a reservation (not an issue getting one) from the charms/souvenir shop on the left of the temple.
LH Boey — Google review
Honestly, it's okay — not remarkable, not outstanding, just okay. Long wait time even when you're in, very little english material (in a small booklet that isn't super descriptive and the photos were atrocious, not really showcasing things properly!) The introduction was overly long and no translation It was just okay I only recommend it if you're around and reaaaaally love temples, otherwise you can skip it. It is also called "ninja temple" but there isn't really anything related to ninja — lots of hidden trapdoors and such but I've seen those all around Europe in castles and such too I wouldn't go back
Mαrc EC — Google review
The Ninja temple turned out unexpectedly to be my family's second favourite place of our trip. Although it is a temple, the visit focused on the intricate and ingenious design. Not to be missed. I would have given the architect a standing ovation! We didn't have a reservation and just walked in. Guide spoke in Japanese and we just followed along with the guidebook which was good enough. To get here, we took a local bus and just showed the driver our Kanazawa shuttle bus ticket because it is covered within the zone.
R Ho — Google review
Great experience. Tour with guide through old Buddhist temple plenty of secret entrances, deceptive defensive, etc -all in Japanese language but easy to follow with booklet containing description and pictures. Booked in advance recommended by phone or intercom located on the left-hand side of the temple. You might have to wait if you arrive directly at the temple without the booking. Pictures, shoes, and food/drinks inside strictly forbidden
Radosław Kwiatkowski — Google review
An intricate building that has some very interesting secrets and history - most of which I don't know because the tour is only in Japanese and the English guidebook available is an extremely abridged summary. 1200 Yen per person is rather steep for the lack of options for non-Japanese visitors and lack of ability to take pictures if you are so inclined but if you find the architecture itself interesting enough it's worth a visit. You need to reserve beforehand though. Bring some warm socks when it's cold since you won't be allowed with shoes inside.
Moloko — Google review
Just by looking from the outside, it is a normal and ordinary temple. However, there are various devices inside, and I could understand why it is called Ninjadera. The architectural style, the design of the interior, etc. are very profound. Currently, you need to make a reservation by phone to enter. The admission fee is 1,200yen.
Johnny Noriaki — Google review
We called and booked a time slot. From the start they make it clear that they only do presentations in Japanese. There is (apparently) a lot of interesting information provided in Japanese during the visit and which non-Japanese visitors miss out on. We have travelled all over the world, a language barrier can easily be overcome with technology e.g. earphones. We were disappointed that it wasn’t provided. Things that we found peculiar (1) its called a Ninja temple but it wasn’t designed or built by Ninjas (2) no hats or sunglasses allowed (3) backpacks must be carried in front it’s not allowed on your back (4) the guide seemed to be fluent in English and could have made it more interesting for the tourists (5) translation apps are not permitted, mobile phones must we switched off and put away. It’s an option on a rainy day else there are better ways of spending your time and money.

Inokashira Park, a 95-acre city park established in 1917, offers a serene escape with its picturesque pond, boating facilities, and scenic trails. The park is renowned for its cherry blossoms, attracting crowds to admire the majestic weeping cherry blossom tree at Rikugien Garden. It's an ideal spot for a leisurely date with attractions like swan boats, temples to explore, and opportunities for picnics.
Very beautiful place. Amazing place to spend time with your family, friends. You can also do boating there. Zoo is also available inside the park. It takes at least 40-50 mins to see all the park. I will highly recommend you to visit this park.

A lovely park to walk through and spend some time on a sunny day (mid October)! We visited on our way to Ghibli Museum which is we sign posted on the way. There is a shrine within the park which we stumbled upon that was very serene. I would highly recommend visiting this park to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to relax when its nice weather.

Sakura was in full bloom. Not too many visitors on a weekday. I enjoyed so much the stunning scenery there. The pale pink colour of the Yoshino sakura was gorgeous. Full bloom only lasted a few days. Highly recommend to pay a visit in the near future to avoid disappointment. Restrooms were available in the park. Easily accessible but unfortunately not that clean and smell a bit.

This is a very nice park to stroll through. There are also many good shops (especially second hand) near the park. You can’t rent out different kinds of paddle boats to ride in the lake. (I believe it’s 30 minutes) I really enjoyed the little coffee shop that was in a car. They also had an old fashioned TV on display there. They have hot coffee, tea, cocoa, and wine. I highly recommend this for a family outing or for a romantic date.

Ghibli museum is located here. Really a great park to visit if you come for the museum. It is a bit of a remote location so it is important that you plan the trip well.
Haluk — Google review
One of my favorite parks in Tokyo! It's usually not as crowded compared to other parks located closer to the Tokyo center so you get to fully enjoy it without meeting too many people on your stroll (except, of course, for cherry blossom viewing season). It ties together really well with the closely located Ghibli museum so I definitely recommend exploring this beautiful green space before or after visiting the museum~
Alice — Google review
Small but well maintained park with two lakes connected by bridges, outlined with sakura trees. Cafés and a Buddhist temple inside. There are public toilet and accessible facilities. Right now the sakura is blooming so it was very busy with picnicers, even during a weekday afternoon - I would avoid this spot at the weekends personally as it would be very overcrowded. The Swan boating lake looks pretty but much smaller than expected with way too many boats!
Alix — Google review
Beautiful park to explore Sakura but one should either come early morning during weekend or on a weekday. Weekend gets really crowded and it becomes difficult to spend more time in the park. The view is worth a visit though.
Nitika — Google review
Such a beautiful park! The cherry blossoms were beautifully bloomed while we were here. We initially came to this area for the Ghibli museum and I’m so glad we took the time to walk around the park afterwards. We rented a pedal boat and took a ride on the lake. Even if you don’t plan on going to the museum, this park is a must!
Avalon Nielsen — Google review
This park is really nice all year long and maintained very well. The row boats and paddle boats are very nice and fun. Also, there are lots of shops around the park, so if you want to have a picnic it is easy to get some food to take to the park.
Keith Wisdom — Google review
Love this huge public park! It has huge lake with duck boats, as well as zoo. The walking track is also nice and wide. During weekend, it can get really crowded, so need to be mindful. In the spring time, people do hanami by the lake at Inokashira. Recommended if you are looking for a convenient public park to stroll on!
Edwina Tjahja — Google review
Inokashira Park is well liked among the locals and not forgetting also tourists who enjoy a luscious green space. You will find ponds, recreational facilities, a shrine, or even hire a boat to row within the lake. Joggers and even dogs enjoy walking at the park as I bumped into few fur friends greeting one another.

We enjoy the serene, and tranquil environment. It's really beautiful in autumn also. There is a shrine and zoo also inside. You can ride boat too.
Sadia Noon Oishe — Google review
The park is incredibly beautiful, with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and serene lakes that reflect the clear blue sky. Majestic trees provide shade, while winding pathways invite peaceful walks. The scent of blooming flowers fills the air, and the tranquil ambiance makes it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Nature’s harmony is on full display, making it a picturesque and enchanting place to immerse oneself in the wonders of the outdoors.

Park was so lovely in autumn - lots of fall colors. Convenient and near to train stations. There are cafes in the park, too in case one is hungry and thirsty. Numerous paths for walking, biking and running. There’s a zoo and boat rentals during the warmer seasons. Lots of benches and clean restrooms.
Pam B — Google review
The park was very clean, and all dogs were leashed and properly handled. The atmosphere was peaceful yet lively with joggers, families, vendors selling handcrafted goods (average ¥100), birdwatchers, etc. There were bridges, shrines, and more to take memorable photos with loved ones, and regardless of the season, the trees and animals added to the beauty of the photos. Refer to the park map for the zoo & aquarium, but check for opening ours as depend on seasons and close earlier during the winter.
Muhammad 'Aqil — Google review
During a drizzly morning stroll at Inokashira Park, the landscape appeared quite barren with few trees. It wasn't until the end of our walk that we stumbled upon a small area adorned with a handful of blooming Sakura trees.
Tan. W — Google review
It’s a beautiful park easily accessible from Shibuya. The park looks amazing especially in the late fall when the leaves turn red. There are bunch of benches to sit and watch the scenery around the pond. A few cafes are available in the park.

中込農園is one of the best farms in Japan. I really enjoyed staying there. The farm have wide variety of fruits in premium quality including peach, apple, grape, nectarine, cherry, pear, persimmon and plum. Honestly the fruits are the best I've ever try in my life. Besides, the hospitality of Kazu san and his staffs makes the experience even better. It is especially suitable for family or friends gathering. The price of fruit picking is reasonable and there are plenty of car parking space. After fruit picking, it is always nice to take a walk in the downtown Yamanashi. I'm sure you will like it!

I love Nakagomi Orchard. At the end of July, my family and friends went there to pick the peaches. This is my first time to visit the peach orchard. There are so many peach trees, we can climb up the ladder to pick the top/good one which faces the sun that Cham told us. She also let us taste the golden peaches too. All the peaches were very delicious and juicy. Thank you Cham!

Would not visit this place again. Totally dissapointed with the service. we reached early around 1300 (our appointment is 1330) and we were at the right place but there is nobody to receive us. Thus, we thought we were at the wrong location as there is no parking lots at the specified location. we ended up going round and round for an HOUR to find the location. In the end, we called the host and found out that the fruit picking session is cancelled due to the rain. (We did not call earlier because we are unable to stop the car on one side and there was no parking lots) But on their website, they indicated that they will not cancel (unless it is a heavy storm) as their fruit picking farms are sheltered. It was raining on that day but clearly it is not a heavy storm. I understand that they have the rights to cancel the session last minute but it would be great if they can at least drop us a call or an email notifying us of the cancellation. Because of this, we wasted one whole day worth of time and money just to make plans to go to the farm (including car rental). Totally very disappointing. Definitely would not visit this farm again.

Great place with tasty and fresh fruits. There are plenty of space to sit and variety of fruits for enjoying. You can eat unlimited amount(食べ放題) Staff is very kind, friendly and also can speak in English. Looking forward to next visit.

If it is in season, this is a great place to go for fruit picking. We went for peaches on July 4th. Being the middle of the week, we did not need reservations. On the weekends, I would not think of it without a reservation. The people there are friendly. For the peaches, it was like most every other orchard I've been to. Either pick the fruit from the trees, or they have some in cooler. They speak English, so it is very foreigner friendly. Convenient enough to get to, but far out of the way at the same time. Can't wait for the grapes to come in!

I did my 1st volunteering farm work for about 10 days in Nakagomi Orchard. The farm works I did were fruits picking, weeding, trimming, packing, and putting down the silver sheet. Human efforts are much needed to produce high quality fruits. Kazusan talked about the farming knowledge as he was guiding me to do the farm work. I tried many sweet and juicy peaches during my stay! Besides, Yokosan cooked delicious dinner for the volunteers! The staffs in the orchard are friendly and willing to chat! A big thanks to Takasan, Marysan, Kennichisan, Kensan, Kazusan and Yokosan! I'm appreciated that I was given a chance to experience my very first farming in Nakagomi Orchard!

This is really a great place! They have multiple locations with different fruits. I went here for the grape picking and eating. It was about ¥2,000 for two hours of all you can eat grapes. That’s more than enough time to fill yourself up. They were so good! I ate about three bunches. They seat you at a table and give you scissors for cutting, gloves and a plate to put your grapes on. It’s very popular so I recommend going early in the season because if you want to take some home, you can’t if you go at the end of the season. As an aside it’s cheaper to go there in person and pay, reserving it on Jaran is more expensive.

There are many different kinds of fruit for picking from June to November. I visited Nakagomi Orchard in August 2019 for peach and grapes picking. Their fruit are so wonderful and delicious. It was really an enjoyable experience to enjoy such high quality of fruit at Nakagomi Orchard. Fresh air, friendly staffs of the orchard and beautiful fresh fruit on the trees that I will come back again for sure.

Mount Kita is the second highest mountain peak in Japan, towering at nearly 10,500 feet and is located within the Minami Alps National Park. The stunning views from its summit includes Mt. Had a great sunrise hike from the hut right below the summit. You definitely need good equipment and a good condition. The trails are steep and partly narrow. Sometimes you need to climb a bit. I would recommend to go further to the other summits in the Minami-Alps (Aino-Dake) and descend along the river to Naroda station. It’s a beautiful hike. There is also a hut on the descend where you can stay over.

There is also a rest house next to the first parking lot where you can eat light meals, so I think Lake Minami Inaga is very suitable for elderly people to stroll around. Even people with weak legs can reach the lake by walking for five minutes along a forest road at an elderly person's pace if they have a cane. When going down to the lake side, there are 6, 7, and 8 steps (or so?) with no handrails, but if you walk normally, you should be able to get down with the help of a cane. For elderly people using walking aid carts, the second parking lot may be better as it is closer to the lake. You can arrive at Parking Lot No. 1 without difficulty by walking down the public road at an elderly person's pace. The lake is also compact and can be toured around, with views of the emerald blue water, the red leaves of the trees, the popular swans, and carp swimming gracefully. You can breathe in the fresh air and feel refreshed. We arrived at the venue at 11:30 AM, ate our lunch while looking out at the lake, and took a leisurely stroll while enjoying the warm sunshine. We had tea at the rest house and headed home around 2pm. On a whim, I stopped by a day trip hot spring and felt warm. For good memories of autumn. (Translated by Google) I climbed from the Kenmin no Mori intersection and arrived at the site around 1:30 pm. 🏞 There is a traffic jam from the curve before the second parking. I have been going to Ecopa Inagako for many years regardless of the season, but I don't remember traffic jams. Is it the effect of the opening of the Chubu Odan Expressway, "Cheers to Tsurube", "Traveling through Japan", and travel discounts?! I see a lot of Mt.Fuji license plates and out-of-prefecture license plates. By the way, the OB of the company I met by chance said that he waited about 20 minutes to enter the first parking lot. 🚣‍♂️ There were quite a few cars that gave up and made a U-turn. I also turned back, but the side of the road where I went down a little was empty, so I parked there. Traffic congestion is expected to increase as the autumn leaves 🍁 progress, so it is recommended to check the available time slots in advance. The autumn leaves are beautiful, and it's also a spot where you can take photos of the swan and Nishikigoi that live here together with the autumn leaves. (Translated by Google) Although it is an artificial lake and a campsite, it is quite satisfying just to take a walk. It's nice to have a rest house where you can eat and drink, a forest science museum, an observation deck, etc. The contrast between the emerald green lake and the autumn leaves was the best in the prefecture! (Visited in early November with Lake Kitaina) (Original)

(Translated by Google) Although it is a small lake, it is a beautiful lake with high transparency. The colorful carp, the beautiful swans, and the autumn leaves were the best. My dog loves watching fish, so he seemed very satisfied. There was also Mr. Shiratori's baptism (lol) (Original)

Above all, autumn is famous for being able to take photos of the collaboration of autumn leaves and swans. (Original) 一定数観光客はいらっしゃるものの、比較的静かでゆっくり湖畔を散策出来ます。何より秋は紅葉と白鳥のコラボレーションの写真を撮れるのが有名です。
