The Sea Cross Overlook

Beautiful sea scenery. If you stop by Umagase, it's a good place to visit together. You can see sea water flowing between cross-shaped rocks that are said to make wishes come true.
Sona — Google review
Beautiful scenery. Know it from my friend's recommendation. You can see the cross symbol created by the combination of the rock and the ocean. They believe, when you pray here, your wish will come true.

Interesting seascape and formation from this overlook. Small parking lot with limited spaces
Gus Chan — Google review
Offers a very good panoramic view of the coastline but I think the more picturesque area is Sanpo, just about a minute drive from here (South-Southwest). Still this is a good place to stop for a good view.

We went earlier in the middle of the week and it was pretty empty. We were on the way to Aso from Miyazaki and this made for a great rest stop. We stopped at a house and were greeted by the friendliest obachan (grandmother) who showed us her family home that has been preserved and explained the decor and how things were constructed and why. She was so friendly and patient in answering our questions. The whole town was cute and we wish we went when everything was open.

Beautiful place to take a little stroll around. There are a few cafes and gift shops scattered around, but you have to be willing to pop your head in because all the buildings look like someone's house 😂 We visited Min, which was a Cafe and gift shop, and Mimitsu Ken (?) which was... an old ladies house 😂 She showed us around her traditional style home which had an interesting layout complete with a hidden treasure room. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area.

So quiet at late afternoon. Traditional Japnaese houses.

(Translated by Google) I visited for the first time, but first I didn't know the parking lot. The overall explanation is about a signboard and there is little guidance on the parking lot, so I think that the first person has no choice but to stop properly. Overall, there are only a limited number of small things to see. If there is a more detailed pamphlet, I think I can go around while checking the materials. I didn't enter the building due to time constraints, but I think the locals who support it were good.
