Notable street
Pl. de España is located in a charming village that celebrates its Moorish heritage and stunning landscape. The property offers great value with terraced rooms connected by tiled staircases and flowery patios, providing wonderful views. Vejer is a small town worth visiting for about 1-2 hours to explore its beauty, including the lovely Plaza Espana with a fountain and picturesque narrow streets leading to pretty flower-filled patios.
The most attractive square and fountain in town - day and night!

Nice and interesting church in Véjer de la Frontera. It is probably very late gothic with archs which are only slightly ojival. They are near semi-circular. The interior contains wonderful polychromatic wooden statues which are taken to the streets during the Easter Holy Days. Worth the visit.

Wonderful restaurant in a unique setting. Surrounded by the old fortified wall, under palm trees. The decor is very welcoming. The restaurant was very accommodating, found us a table without reservation. The food was amazing, we had some appetizers, tajines and couscous, and then some Moroccan pastries and mint tea for desert. Everything was delicious, perfectly balanced spices, cooked to tenderness. Even our kids ate without complaining, and said it was some of the best food they had. Great experience.

Had a wonderfull lunch. We were on a daytrip to Vejer and found this place on Google Maps. Decided to walk in and ask for a table. The kitchen was not open yet and most tables had been booked. Yet the friendly host managed to squeeze us in. What a treat! The food is impeccable. There is so much taste. I have no (negative) remarks on this place. 10/10 would recommend anyone. Just make sure you are on time, have a reservation and it’s a bit pricey (yet, not in comparison to what you get)

Castle
Perched atop the town of Vejer de la Frontera in Spain's Cadiz province, Castillo de Vejer, also known as the Castle of Vejer de la Frontera, dates back to the 10th and 11th centuries. This historic site was declared a National Monument in 1931 and is currently closed for renovations. The castle offers stunning views of the surrounding area and features a small ethnographic museum showcasing life in the town's past.
A spectacular Flamenco experience each Friday and Saturday. 100% recommended. It’s also very hard to describe so be open minded to appreciate such talent in a very unlikely yet beautiful setting.

The castle has a nice view of the surrounding town. There is a small ethno museum that shows life in the town in the past. We had a tour with a scout troop which was a cute idea for the castle to offer.
Adam Nash — Google review
When we entered the castle, there was a youth movement playing and the leader asked us if we would want to have a free guide. We said yes and before we know a little 10-year-old boy was guiding us in Spanish. although we didn't understand much of it, we could kind of understand what he was talking about, it was very funny. The castle itself isn't really special, it has a room that represents the living style from back then and it has a garden.
Manu Verbruggen — Google review
We were waiting until 6 p.m. as Information Office told us. As nobody opened the door, we asked to a child that was at the door. She told us, after asked someone, that today It wasn't open. This Castle seems a great place to see, but we couldn't and the feeling is that the organización is not as serious as It could be. I'm sorry, but this is only our experience.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurante Las Delicias offers a range of trendy global dishes, such as bao buns and ceviche, in a former theater with high ceilings. The meal is described as impressive, with incredible carpaccio and perfectly cooked spatchcock chicken accompanied by chimmichuri and garlic sauce. The sea bass skewer and pork are also recommended for their strong flavors and well-seasoned preparations.
High-quality food and drinks. Very tasty desserts. Good service, good location in a very special place. Private parking right next to this place. Every time we pass by Vejer we book a table here. We already miss this restaurant and want to come back.

Really impressive meal. Carpaccio was incredible and the spatchcock Chicken with chimmichuri and garlic sauce was perfectly cooked and delicious. Sea Bass skewer and Pork is recommended too. Strong flavor; well seasoned. Don’t expect the Tuna to be bursting with flavor, but a strong meal within its own right. Worth a visit.
Dan Barclay — Google review
I would give this place a -5. The waiters were rude, and unprofessional. They never apologized for spilling wine all over my husband’s shirt, and they managed to get our order wrong as well. The bottle of water we ordered had bugs inside, and all they said was it was the second time that had happened with a sealed bottle of water. The staff needs to be properly trained.
M H — Google review
This restaurant is unique. It’s a theatre turned into dining room using “pallets”, the 1x1.5m wooden structure used in Spain to transport and store materials, building and otherwise. The food is outstanding, which explains why it’s difficult to get a table in the most beautiful room (the main dining hall) in the same day. It really pays to reserve in advance, for the following day for instance. My favourite dish out of the three we had were the six squid croquettes, which were absolutely delicious. But the steak tartare was sublime and the starter, a ceviche that seemed a mixture of guacamole and ceviche, with a lovely flavour of coriander wrapping it up smoothly, was superb too. Indeed a place to try out while in Vejer.

Unfortunately we had a disastrous experience. We got put in an annexe room down the street, which did not have the same atmosphere as the main restaurant. For 2 out of 3 of us, the food was very disappointing and we did not eat it. Nobody asked us how our meal was and neither did the staff notice or care when finally 2 plates were full or nearly full when cleared. There was a complete lack of care or any management presence at the presentation of the full bill. The staff were threatening and aggressive when we requested the removal of the 2 dishes from the bill; they were unable and unwilling to hear any feedback about the food. Very disappointing. We would not return.

Incredible restaurant situated in what it used to be a theatre on the 19th century. Very good food overall the tortellini. We went for the grilled octopus, tortellini and some meat. Too full to order desert. The service was very good as well.

Do not go if you want to be treated with respect. Went at 9:30 pm and the restaurant was busy yet early for a Spanish dinner. Upon arriving and asking for a table the manager said that she could not accommodate us because there were no tables available. We mentioned that we did not mind waiting and having a glass of wine at the bar. At this point she said that there were many tables ahead of us and that the kitchen would be closing. Never heard of such a thing on a Saturday night in Spain. Do not go! Terrible service... Can't review the food, never got the chance to try it

The Caesar Salad was covered in sauce and the cheese wasn’t Parmesan. The burger I ordered was raw even though I ordered medium. The team spent most of the time talking to each other and the atmosphere was bland. Overall beautiful building food not so much.

If you like cat food on a bun, this is the place to be. Horrendous! The salmon tastes like deep frozen salmon, warmed up in a microwave. Don’t expect service, especially if you are a foreign tourist. None of the staff members speak a single word of English and they don’t care about you, at all!
Bernulf Jansen — Google review
We ordered the boa buns with chicken terriaki, it was clearly not chicken. When we asked the waiter if it was chicken (it clearly tasted like pork and had the structer of pork) he confirmed our suspicion that it wasn’t chicken but pork, then went to discus with his colleueges and came back to correct himself that it’s chicken 🤡 all we could do was laugh it was a great joke. Anyway it was drenched in terriaki sauce and was too salty. The staff all just stands around and watches you eat, and giggling amongst each other, they didn’t offer us any more drinks after taking our empty bottles, however the staff looked bored 😴. The atmosphere is honestly nothing special, really tall ceilings made from pallets? It’s a tourist trap , save yourself.
Kasia Waks — Google review
Absolutely horrible service from the waiters. We asked if we could stop for a drink when only one table was full. They all pulled a face and acted like it was a sin to request to spend money in their premises. With so many amazing options nearby I’m not sure why one would waste their time with rude and unkind people.

Restaurante la Castillería, situated in a charming treehouse setting, is known for its expertise in selecting the finest meat and skillfully preparing it over glowing coals. The menu boasts Retinto, a local breed of cattle that grazes near Costa de la Luz, imparting a distinctive saline flavor to the meat. Complementing this culinary delight are excellent red wines from Taberner and Luis Perez.

Excellent service and delicious food. A must if you’re in the area and would like to experience the extraordinary. This place is run by absolute professionals! We got there without any reservation and they quickly offered us a spot and made us feel super welcome. That’s going the extra mile considering they are normally fully booked. You need to plan your visit a couple of months in advance, but it’s worth it! The restaurant itself is beautiful and have a great atmosphere, and the service is really what will make you come back. The meat they serve is outstanding, and the starters are inspired (try the morcilla with poached egg and mushrooms, a highlight!) we also enjoyed the wine that the waiter recommended us. It’s not cheap of course, but you’re paying for the beautiful location, the extraordinary service and the delicious food, so it’s a reasonable price after all. Great place: very nice ambiance to eat (both outside and inside) and excellent steaks and other Spanish fine dining. Prices are relatively high for Spain but still reasonable. Great setting and wide choice of food available, although slightly more expensive than some other places, still offers really good value. The starters & Ottolenghi lamb curry main were superb; however, unfortunately, the steak that was ordered medium, was sent out completely rare, sent back once only for the same steak to come out again not noticeably any more cooked. We weren't asked again by anyone if it was ok, which was slightly disappointing and we didn't want to make a fuss a second time. Overall, a really good meal and would recommend if you're in the area!

With beautiful food, super friendly staff and stunning views, this really is a "must visit"! The croquettes and the lemon cheesecake dessert are two of my many favourites on this varied menu. ❤️❤️❤️

This is an amazing place we enjoyed a lot. The food to share - or not - is just amazing from tapas to desert. Advise on wines was also spot on. The service is personalized, attentive and so kind. It was a bit cold to sit outside in January, which allowed us to enjoy a lot the lovely atmosphere inside. Don’t miss it!

Amazing food, super attentive staff, lovely setting. Taking traditional dishes and giving them a super modern twist that works. Definitely recommend giving this place a go.

The chefs in our 5 star restaurant should really come here for cooking lessons! After poor food almost everywhere we went finally we found Corredera 55. Fabulous food at great prices and very friendly helpful staff. 10/10 - well done.

I don't normally gush when writing reviews but this restaurant deserves high praise. Located in (old) Vejer, a small historic town situated in the mountains, where all the buildings are painted white which makes it stand out on the drive to Cádiz. It has a cluster of cute little lanes with independent shops, restaurants and apartments. Owned and managed by a lovely Scottish lady, who had enough of the cold and wet stuff and decided to start a new adventure in Spain and found this town - Corredera 55 sophisticated but casual, decor is simple but classy and the menu is varied and (all) very tempting for both meat-lover and veggies alike. There is also an outdoor terrace with seating for approx. 30. Hosting by the owner/manager is first class, waiting tables is an all male crew and in the kitchen, local ladies with the hands of angels delivering a simply scrumptious menu. If you visit Vejer, I would thoroughly recommend you have a meal here.

Tavern
Garimba Sur, an exciting establishment opened by Javier Duenas in Vejer's main square ten years ago, has been highly successful for several reasons. This remarkable spot situated in Plaza de Espana offers a pleasant atmosphere and excellent cuisine. Guests can enjoy dishes such as tiradito de boquerones and mixed croquetas for sharing, while the Wagyu meat hamburgers make for a satisfying main course option.
Lovely tapas bar on the beautiful square in Vajer de la Frontera. Food was really excellent, as was the service. Prices were correct for the location and quality of food and service. Recommended.

Great place located at Plaza de España. Nice staff, and great food. We tried tiradito de boquerones and mixed croquetas for sharing. Wagyu meat hamburgers as main course. Apple strudel and pine nuts cake for dessert. Recommended place!

High prices for poor quality food in small portions. 13 euro for fried calamari, it was not very crispy, there were no dips or garnish, for 13 euro I’d expect more. My girlfriend had the chicken ravioli, warning, do not get this, it is not good. Waiters were very friendly at least.

Well that started off well. The outside seating was full but the inside was completely empty. Asked if we could sit inside by a window and the barman said the inside was closed. Humm! People waiting to eat outside about 5 or 6 plus my wife and I. Really you don't want the extra money from 3 to 4 more tables? Bad attitude. Won't be spending my money there. Recommend the Trafalgar next door. Friendly and great tapas!
