Okotanpe Lake

Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
Okotanpe Lake is a secluded and enigmatic body of water, surrounded by lush mountains. Its distinctive feature lies in the water that changes color depending on the weather, adding to its mystique. Although it requires a 2km walk to reach and fallen trees may obstruct the observatory viewpoint, the journey is well worth it for those seeking an unexplored natural destination.
(Translated by Google) When I was taking a short tour to Lake Shikotsu, the gate was open, so I decided to proceed. *The road will be closed a little further past the observation deck, and you will not be able to go all the way to Bifue. Observatory? From the observation deck, I was able to see a beautiful lake, although it was a little far away. (Translated by Google) The weather was sunny, but maybe it has something to do with the season or time of day? It looks pretty good in the photo, but to the naked eye it doesn't look blue at all, and it wasn't beautiful at all. There are also very few places where you can see the lake surface due to the trees. There is also no well-maintained observation deck. Please note that if construction is currently underway in front of the area where you can see the lake, you will not be able to pass through. Walking 2km would be a complete waste of time. There are also bears in this area. Maybe now isn't the right time to go. Haku Sen No Taki is a well-known waterfall located in a serene and picturesque setting in Hokkaido, Japan. The area is part of the "romantic bus service" that tours three waterfalls in the region. During autumn, visitors can witness the beautiful sight of yellow and red leaves contrasting with remaining green trees. There is a viewing walkway available for tourists to enjoy the calming and relaxing scenery, along with a souvenir shop.
️ I think it's a surprisingly powerful waterfall⁉️ Although it is not a very famous waterfall, there is a considerable amount of water and a large drop, and the way the water flows is interesting! ️ Autumn leaves🍁It's sure to look great during this time✨🤗🎶

Beautiful waterfalls. It's calming and relaxing. Just a nice site for a quick visit to feel closer to nature.

One of many beautiful natural sights in Hokkaido. This waterfall was part of our "romantic bus service". Apparently this is one of 3 waterfalls in the region. During this time of the year you can see the leaves turning yellow and red. The contrast with few remaining green trees makes this waterfall sight to behold. If you are lucky to have the whole day to explore the area. You should walk and explore all three waterfalls in nature. Be sure to get warm cloths as it can get cold during October.
Miky Kanazawa — Google review
A few beautiful waterfalls. Excellent with autumn leaves. Multiple places to view from if there are a few other sightseers there at once. Easy parking. Toilets and a vending machine. When we were there a small mobile coffee cart was also there.

Beautiful waterfall with multiple viewing points. It's probably the nicest out of the three waterfalls on this road. There's toilets and a small cafe as well. Worth a detour.

(Translated by Google) If you go when the water level is increasing, such as after rain, you can see the beautiful roaring sound of the flow. Midsummer is good, but spring and autumn are recommended. The second photo is Ralmanai Falls, which is right near Hakusen Falls. (Translated by Google) To be honest, this is a waterfall that could be found anywhere. It's a spot where you can take a quick photo and go home in about 10 minutes, so I think it's a good idea to stop by if you're passing by. There are toilets, but there are no shops or anything. Also, since it is out of service area (au and SoftBank), If you're planning on going next, I recommend researching where you're going next or downloading Google Maps.

(Translated by Google) It was a powerful waterfall that felt like a waterfall. Three-tiered waterfall, Ralmanai waterfall, and this Hakusen waterfall are recommended in Eniwa City? It looks like a waterfall. By chance, I went to see the three-tier waterfall in order, so I was disappointed by the third-tier waterfall (ah, the bridge piers...I want you to see it in person and experience what it looks like lol), but I was disappointed with the Lalmanai waterfall (advertisement photo) I'd like to take a photo of it from the street, but it's not possible. Are you using a drone? I'm really glad I came, if I didn't think about the time I wasted trying to find a way to take pictures of Ralmanai Falls in an impressive way. Foreign tourists were coming here and there (I didn't see them at all at the other two waterfalls lol). Do not cross the fence and approach the river or waterfall (at your own risk). Let's take a closer look. In addition to the cracks in the rock that peel off horizontally in the bedrock beneath our feet, there are also cracks that look like they'll split vertically and turn the basin of the waterfall upside down (that was scary). In addition to these three types of waterfalls, I had planned to visit some minor waterfalls that were off the route, but when I tried to open the map app, I realized that they were out of range...unbeknownst to me.

There is also a slope, so it is safe even for elderly people. From the glimpses of the river, I had imagined a gentle, feather-like waterfall, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a wild, vertically falling waterfall! The water in the river is absolutely beautiful, and the gradation created by the depth of the waterfall basin is a refreshing touch that soaks into your eyes. However, in the extremely hot weather, I wanted to get some splashes from the waterfall (negative ions), but I ended up looking at the waterfall from above. You can only feel the cooling sensation with your eyes, but you cannot feel it directly with your skin.

Murakami Farm

Mentioned on
Dairy
Sights & Landmarks
The dude ranch Murakami Farm offers a unique dairy experience where guests can milk cows and make their own butter using fresh milk. The process involves shaking the milk in a bottle until the butter forms, which is accompanied by energetic music to keep guests motivated. Apart from this, visitors can also indulge in ice cream making, which is both entertaining and delicious. The staff at Murakami Farm are friendly and accommodating, ensuring an unforgettable time for all who visit.
Very fun for families, especially for the kids! The cow milking and butter making experience was very fun! The host/facilitator also gives everybody bits of knowledge about the farm business and about the animals they take care of. Everybody gets their turn to have their pictures taken and milking the cow, you can pet/feed baby cows while waiting your turn. Note though that each person who are allowed into the cow-milking area are the ones who registered and paid(company who go there just to take pictures aren't allowed to enter) and they're quite strict with this policy. Also it's a farm so expect it to smell like a farm. There are plenty of other activities that can be done here like a tractor tour around the farm, bbq, camping and feeding/petting other farm animals aswell. Food is great too! The freshly made butter was so creamy and silky and the ice cream, milk sold at the cafe was mind-blowing and fresh! Coming here by car is best since the place is a bit far from the nearest train/bus station. Some come here by taxis too, going home wont be a problem since you can call a taxi from the cafe.

Murakami Farm, located approximately an hour drive from Sapporo, is a cute little farm that offers enjoyable farming experiences. We experienced milking the cow, feeding the farm animals, and churning the fresh milk to make butter - ¥2,000 including the entrance fees. There are additional activities you can add, e.g., ice cream making at additional costs. It’s a good family and couple activities spot, located 15-minute drive away from Ecorin Village. The staffs are able to communicate in English and present entertaining workshops. We were pleasantly surprised with the menu from the small cafe. The dishes looked very good and homemade. Be sure to try out the soft serves - they’re definitely a hidden gem and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a farming experience nearby Sapporo. Please extend our regards to Tori-chan if you’re making the trip!

We visited this farm in May 2023 and it was an incredible experience! The highlights for us was making our own Hokkaido butter and milking the glorious Hime-chan <3 And of course, trying the delicious ice cream at the on-site shop! I was a little apprehensive when making the reservation as I wasn't sure if they would be able to accommodate English-speaking guests, but that turned out to not be an issue at all. Everything is extremely clear and we even had a lovely member of staff translate/explain everything to us and guide us through the farm, and even the non-English speaking staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Hokkaido!

Wonderful place for kids. The online booking system was easy and user-friendly. Although their tour is guided in Japanese, hussle-free for english speaking visitors as they would show you a booklet with translation. Wonderful experience. You can also feed the animal at the farm next to restaurant. Wonderful experience for kids.

What a wonderful place! If you go, you HAVE to try the dairy experience set…not only do you milk a cow, you make and eat your very own butter!!! They give you a clear bottle with a small amount of milk squeezed fresh that morning, and you shake it until the butter forms. Since it takes an estimated 3000 shakes to make butter, the farm team blasts inspirational cardio-type music to help encourage you to shake. UNFORGETTABLE!!!
