Gifu World Rose Garden

Mentioned on
Memorial park
Nature & Parks
The Gifu World Rose Garden is a vast green space renowned for its abundant spring flowers and May-blooming roses. Visitors can enjoy picnicking by the lake or strolling through fields of colorful blooms. The park boasts an enormous parking lot, but public transportation may not be available. The highlight of the garden is a large greenhouse and Tasha's cottage, although visitors are also wowed by the entrance area featuring real roses.
Gorgeous place, can easily spend a whole day here. Best time for roses is in mid-May, but the highlight for me was the huge greenhouse and Tasha's cottage.

見逃しました…(;_;) (Translated by Google) Autumn Rose Festival 2023 I was able to go on a weekday before the event ended. The weather is nice, the air is fresh, and you can see various flowers, greenery, and trees, and it's like you've come to another world...It's a soothing space. There were many people, both male and female, who came alone. One of the world's largest rose gardens with 5,500 roses of 17 varieties. As soon as you enter, you will be greeted by a large rose garden. There were still many blooms! ``Garden of Fragrance - Rose Corridor'' Take a tour around the world, Japan, and rare types of roses. More than half of the flowers had fallen, but the flowers were brightly colored and fragrant. The ``Moroccan Garden'' was decorated with Moroccan materials and traditional techniques, and the entrance was decorated with star-shaped art. There are also athletic and play equipment for children to enjoy. You can ride the road train for 300 yen. At the flower museum, there are several types of roses on display, where you can sample the scents and enjoy the differences, and there is also a shop selling rose accessories, souvenirs, and products. Cosmos and rose seedlings were sold at flower seedling specialty stores. It was a little past the full bloom period for roses, but autumn coleus, zinnias, marigolds, rosehips, and cosmos were in full bloom. Hydrangeas and celosia were also blooming, which I enjoyed. There are many photogenic spots, and the garden is very satisfying overall♪ It became a good memory ♪ ⚠When walking around the park, we recommend that you refer to the ``Rose Journey Map'' that you receive when you enter the park! ! It seems that cosmos were blooming towards the back of the park from around the end of October. I missed it...(;_;)

Eummmm!! You want roses, THATS the place you need to go!!! The most beautiful arrangements of roses I’ve ever seen in my life!😱 I got the early access on the weekends and I HIGHLY recommend it!!! You get to enjoy not only the intense smell of the roses in the early hours of the day (with early access you can enter as of 7h am) BUT take the most amazing pictures with the dew on the roses petals! Plus less people in the gardens!!! Absolutely worth getting up early and paying a little extra (2000¥ instead of 1300¥ I believe). It’s ABSOLUTELY a show stopper, worth the detour !!

(Translated by Google) Since it was not the best season, there were few flowers and it was not very impressive. But it was empty so I was able to take a leisurely stroll, which was nice. There are roses that smell great and are soothing. Also, the roses sold outdoors are in better condition than in the garden 😂 There are few places to eat and drink, and there are few take-out options. Is it fashionable for some reason? There was a shop selling Gohei mochi. I ate at a restaurant in Center Court, and I ordered Sangenton curry and rice, but where is Sangenton? ? ? It cost 1,000 yen just for the retort curry... Although there are a number of staff members, they don't seem to want to serve customers very much, which is a shame. It's a style where you order and then sit down, but instead of asking the place to order, it's the place where you order! ! This was said in a high-pressure manner. She was a young woman, but was she part-time? ? The impression was so bad that the beautiful roses I had been looking at were canceled out. There is a space where you can leave your dog near the entrance gate. However, there is only a fence, there are no guards, and there is no water container. I can't help but feel uneasy about leaving my dog here...it's better not to have space to leave it unless the dog is patrolled regularly. too scary.

I visited during the later part of May. The roses were absolutely stunning! I highly recommend visiting but be sure the flowers are in bloom. It was fantastic, there were a few performers here and there. The sweet aroma of the different roses mixed together making everything smell so beautiful! There's quite a few food vendors but also spaces for picnics. There were a good number of bees buzzing around, it being flowers and all, so be aware if you have any allergies. There were so many different types of flowers and they're all well marked so you can tell which is which. It was a great experience and I am glad I was able to see the roses before going home. Great park with interesting events and flower displays for all seasons. The best time to visit is definitely the late spring bloom of roses in May but be prepared for large crowds. Autumn also has a beautiful display of roses but not as spectacular, although maybe more fragrant. There are many other flowers on show throughout the park during the year with probably the best display in the furthest back corner from he entrance. There there is a field filled with different flowers throughout the year depending on the season, nemophila, sunflowers, and cockscomb have all been there at one time or another. Can’t recommend this park enough if you are in the area. Entrance fees change during the season, ¥1,050 per adult during peak times, ¥500 off peak, and free during the winter months. Children are free admission. A year pass is also available for ¥2,100.

Great for a day out. The park looks fairly recent, and well maintained. It's divided in small areas like little worlds within the park. You can get a 360 view from the tower, and take home rose trees from the shops inside. There's also a "family area" good for pic nic and kids playing with water. If you go by train, make sure to get off at Godo station. Then it's about half an hour walk (uphill) Google map might be sending you to the west of the park but there's no entrance on that side. You'll end up walking all the way around the forest. Speaking from experience. See map of the park attached for guidance. Enjoy!

This time, for 3 days only, we were able to see the kiln used by Toyozo Arakawa! (Normally closed to the public) The curator who was there gave us a detailed and thorough explanation of how Shino and Setoguro are made and about Mr. Toyozo. Thank you very much🙏 They also had tea, so I decided to get it 🍵 The matcha tea bowl from Shino was very tasteful. We also looked around Toyozo's residence, pottery making building, and stone monuments. This time, I enjoyed the materials and works from my hometown trip. From the museum, I went down and saw the pottery studio. Next, we went to see Toyozo's residence, and the stonework was stunning, resembling a palace garden that skillfully incorporated a stream. The house was built on a high foundation, similar to the masonry of a castle. The dirt floor and ceiling are also elaborate. On the day I visited, I went through the temple and met the chief priest at the gate of the grave, which had a new concrete retaining wall, and he kindly opened the gate and allowed me to visit. The Mori family's tombstones are located 2 to 30 meters up from the gate, inside a mausoleum surrounded by white walls, past numerous old grave markers. The mountain at the top has a steep slope, and a strong erosion control dam has been installed, which may have caused landslides many times, and the cold air from the mountain comes down from the top of the dam, giving the shrine an even more solemn atmosphere. When I went down to the temple after worshiping, I was greeted by the chief priest and his wife, who showed me about Kajo-ji Temple, the town, its history, and nearby sightseeing spots. I was very happy that the wife was able to welcome the suspicious-looking biker as she went up to the temple. Canitte Rest Area

Mentioned on
Toll road rest stop
Brunch restaurant
Canitte Rest Area, located on a rural toll road, offers a charming farmers' market selling locally grown vegetables and fresh wasabi. In addition to this, there is also a café that serves delicious soba noodles. This quaint spot provides handwritten receipts for their goods, giving it an authentic and personal touch. Overall, the rest stop boasts of clean and high-quality local produce at reasonable prices.
(Translated by Google) I thought what a wonderful roadside station it was when I looked at it as a whole. The parking lot is full at noon. There was also a parking lot for large trucks. There is a tented shop outside, and you can also buy Gohei mochi here. Inside, you can shop for a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruits, processed foods, and souvenirs. The inside of the store isn't very large, but it's packed full of charm ❗ Gohei mochi skewered dango getchu at a stall run by a friendly-looking guy ❗ (Original)

Kanitte was smaller than I expected. They sell fresh vegetables. Handwritten receipts are great.

It was a small place even though there was no facility like this around. There are few things related to the Taiga drama Akechi, and I thought it was a waste.

(Translated by Google) Towards the end, I went to take a restroom break! Local vegetables, fruits, processed meat, etc. There were matsutake mushrooms and beehives, and I was surprised to see that they sold whole beehives. Is it normal around here? ? There were many seasonal chestnut sweets. Kintsuba, kurikinton, and rice crackers. They looked delicious, so I bought rare apples, kurikinton, and chestnuts as souvenirs. It was a good price 😂 The downside was that the toilet was old and in disrepair, with toilet paper scattered around. However, that Toipei case is also very difficult to remove and I don't like it. Regular stainless steel is the easiest to cut, and it's more hygienic.

(Translated by Google) There are fruits on the mountain above. You can also buy some agricultural products grown in the surrounding area at very reasonable prices. However, it's not that cheap. There are also plenty of leaflets with tourist information in the area.

(Translated by Google) Visited on a roadside station tour The location of the stamp is difficult The big ones are in front of the cafeteria at the back of the store. The small one with the roadside station number on it is located in the information corner next to the outside toilet. When I asked the store clerk, she seemed busy, but she took the trouble to guide me to the location. Is there any point in separating the locations? I would like it to be unified in both The shop is full of locally grown vegetables and fruits. Side dishes and rice balls using them A roadside station worth stopping by that you can enjoy just by looking at it. Purchased Dodeka Onigiri (420 yen) and Imoten (sweet potato tempura, 130 yen) Keichan, a huge rice ball filled with chicken and egg. It was filling and delicious with lots of different flavors. Imoten is super thick and almost like a roasted sweet potato. It tastes a little like tempura if you put the batter in your mouth as well. For first-timers, it might be best not to think of this as tempura. The visit was on a Sunday afternoon and there were a lot of people. If you look at this product lineup and location, you'll be right. Naturally, there are many cars coming and going, and the parking lot is one-way. The shape of the parking lot is not suitable for people with a short temper. (Translated by Google) There are a variety of products, not just local ones, and the hand-painted POPs are perfect, so it's fun just looking at them. There is also an eat-in space in the back, so I wanted to relax there. It was also a roadside station that made me want to visit. I later regretted that I should have made the homemade gelato with ❛corn❜. I definitely want to try it next time.
