The Red Brick Museum is a unique attraction located in a restored naval warehouse built in 1903, featuring exhibition halls and a restaurant. The museum showcases an impressive collection of bricks from different parts of the world, including some from significant historical sites such as Auschwitz. Visitors can discover the various forms of red brick used throughout history, ranging from past to present times.
They're awfully proud of being a museum that showcases bricks 🧱 and bricks only. Give it a chance and you'll see why. Whatever you thought you needed to know about bricks 🤔🧱, they have it. How bricks are made? Why bricks are important to civilized societies? Which famous architectural buildings around the world 🌎 feature bricks? Which famous Japanese buildings are made of bricks? Why bricks are the size that they are right now? What are the different ways to lay bricks to build a wall? What are the different brick related puzzles like tangrams you could play ▶️ with? All in all, a wonderful place to learn a whole lot more about this non-assuming item.

Interesting museum close to the harbor! It shows a lot of history about red brick buildings around the world as well as Maizuru as Naval Base City in Japan. Tips: buy a Maizuru One Day Pass for 1,000¥ and you can freely enter public places, including this museum, plus return by bus on certain routes.

Literally a museum about bricks from all over the world. Funny but not too interesting.

🧱🚢It's an interesting museum to visit, not as interesting as Yokohama Akarenga , but the space is large and beside anchored naval ships makes up the historical scene. If you're passing through the Kyoto coastline, it's an interesting place to visit.🚢😉

Nice museum, with a combination of architectural and local naval base history. The name of the museum is a bit too simple. Nice views of Maizuru bay from the second floor.

Unusual little find. We are from Portsmouth which is twinned with Maizuru as we donated a brick from Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. As we were in the area, we though it fitting to go and find this brick. Quite a quirky little museum, it has bricks from all over the world, and also from significant historical buildings such as Auschwitz. Would have stayed longer if we had time.

An oddly interesting museum in the coastal town where Japan's Coast Guard members receive their training. It has a showcase of famous historical buildings from around the world that used brick as a primary building material (with samples); well-known structures within Japan; and a collection of bricks from historical event structures like the Berlin wall, Auschwitz, Philadelphia Hall, etc. Better than we expected. Built in an old navy warehouse once used to store torpedoes. Other buildings on the grounds are being converted into shops and restaurants.

For small children and families, there are some things enjoyable with low cost. It was nice time to take my son at the age of 9 years to spend some relaxing time there. Especially cats house is good :) Be gently with them, please. I found that the owner would be a fan of healthy and National foodstuffs. I bought non chemical curry paste there, after I researched it on internet. It’s a great point for me personally. There is not so big, so for little children it’s enough.

(Translated by Google) I visited with my family during Golden Week. Admission is free and you can interact with the animals. There is also rabbit grazing, which is amazing to have inside. I haven't talked to the owner directly, but I think he has a good sense of humor. They are also conscious of reducing food waste from BBQs. It was impressive to see him giving advice on impossible orders (too many orders). I bought some souvenirs and ice cream for my family. It was delicious. (Translated by Google) I visited on a weekday in late February 2024. It was a very cold day, but the daffodils and plums were blooming. It's been a long time since I've seen sunny skies, and I had a pleasant walk around the ranch. It was an unfamiliar drive for me from within Kyoto, but I was energized by the delicious coffee I enjoyed while watching the fire in the magnificent fireplace at the restaurant. My daughter loves soft serve ice cream! That's what he said. It was rich but not too sweet, and the taste made me want to eat it again. Since it was a weekday, there weren't many people, so I was able to take my time and watch the rabbits, which was relaxing. Even though it's cold, they run around full of energy, stand on their hind legs in anticipation of food, and come over to show us their faces. You can buy carrots to feed them at the cafeteria and feed them to them, and the sight of them holding food in their mouths is adorable. There are kids chasing each other, kids sharpening their nails, and kids digging in the dirt, but they all move in different ways, don't sit still, and are so busy that I never get tired of watching them. We also toured the cat kennel. The dining room was the reception area, and there was a 100 yen fee to enter, and the rules were to have your temperature taken and to wear a mask. I think it's a very good thing because it's to protect the health of cats while there are a large number of unspecified people. Although I couldn't touch the cats, I felt at peace watching them relaxing in the warm room. Since the cat's name is posted, I wonder what this child's name is? I tried to confirm their names and who they were, but there were kids playing hide and seek behind the mini kotatsu, and there were others who looked exactly like them, so it was quite a challenge but it was fun. The cats were taken care of and I felt warm. The cherry blossoms on the farm will bloom beautifully in spring. Next time, I would like to visit around noon to enjoy the delicious grilled meat. thank you very much!

The soft serve ice cream that came with the set was insanely delicious! I was able to enjoy a very relaxing and luxurious time eating in the middle of a cherry blossom snowstorm. The children seemed to have a lot of fun playing with balls, playing with the goats, and riding the swings, and were very satisfied. It's a very nice place. I'm going to visit again. Then A windmill came into view, and it looked like a small Biei town in Hokkaido. It felt like a filming location for ``From the North Country''. My dog happily walks around the rabbit house many times. Thoroughbreds, sheep, and goats were also relaxing. It's hard to take care of. As you walk around, you'll see Heidi's big swing, doors everywhere, It is lined with cherry blossom trees and is probably a famous spot known only to those in the know. Roasted sweet potato (repeat because it was delicious) Yakiniku (although it was chilly, we were guided to the kotatsu terrace) The soft serve ice cream was also very delicious. The owner's wife and female staff are also kind. Next time, I'll bring my grandchildren and try the yakiniku course. It's a place that doubles as a tourist information center and a rest area, and there are several seats where you can sit comfortably. It has air conditioning, toilets, and vending machines, making it a comfortable environment.
