(Translated by Google) Visited in January, 4th year of Reiwa. A location in the mountains of a heavy snowfall area After purchasing the admission ticket, he said, "Please open and close the entrance door yourself as a measure against snowstorms." If you go through a rugged and sturdy iron door that you can't think of as a tourist spot, you can see the old tunnel itself. Since the average temperature inside is 13 ℃, it is warmer than the outside, but there are quite a few leaks, so be careful. (Translated by Google) It is a very old mine site. Now that the mine is closed, it's like a theme park where you can learn about those days. You can buy a ticket to enter the mine site. It is not possible to ride on a trolley, etc., and the tour is on foot. There are two types of mines, a standard course and a special course, but the price is the same. The standard course is a simple course where you can only see the mining site, and the special course allows you to see various things such as rest areas, trucks, and elevators. The special course is overwhelmingly recommended, and I think the quality difference is such that if you don't see this, the meaning of going will be halved. The inside of the mine is only 13 degrees Celsius, so it is very cold in summer, so it is better to bring a jacket. Also, the humidity is abnormally high and it smells like mold, but if you don't like this, I think you should be careful. After looking at the modern mines, continue to the Gold Mine Exhibit. In terms of volume, the former was overwhelming and powerful. It was a wonderful spot that I would like you to stop by if you come nearby.

I went during the Obon holidays on August 14, 2023, so I saw a fair number of customers. However, I was able to enjoy the view at a leisurely pace, and it was a different experience than the limestone caves. There's also a souvenir shop and a gold panning experience, so I think it's fun for families with children, but the temperature inside the premises is 13 degrees, so don't forget to take precautions against the cold. It was so cold that I thought I was going to catch a cold. It was so good! Walking inside the mine, which is constantly at 13 degrees Celsius, I was able to understand the hardships that people had to go through to dig holes 1,000 years ago, even though this is a job that humans can do with their greed. It may be an industrial heritage site, but the excavated remains of the 15-step ore vein, which stretches endlessly and you cannot look up or down, looked like a limestone cave. Well done, you've dug this far... It's worth going. It's a free facility, so I think the budget and labor costs are tight, but it's great. It is located along the Hachimantai Aspite Line. Onuma is across the road. The first floor is a large toilet and the second floor is an information and museum. Please refer to the detailed information such as the weather on the day and the appearance of bears. It is a pity that there is an exhibition corner that was deleted by the corona whirlpool inside, but in the back there is a theater room where you can taste Hachimantai with images, and you can see the images that you can taste Hachimantai from among the four. In the exhibition corner, animals, behaviors, meals, etc. are actually exhibited, and the mechanism and state of peat at the nearby Goshogake Onsen are also exhibited, which can be used as a reference when walking on the promenade at the back of Goshogake Onsen. Of course, it's just a restroom break, but when you come to Onuma or stop by, please go inside. Goshogake Hot Spring Hotel

Sights & Landmarks
The Goshogake Hot Spring Hotel is a serene establishment that sits on the slopes of Mount Hachimantai in Towada-Hachimantai National Park. This low-key lodging offers guests indoor and outdoor soaking tubs, as well as a tranquil restaurant. Additionally, there is a separate hot spring bath available to both staying guests and non-staying daytime visitors for an affordable fee.
We’ve been to over 10+ Ryokan during our time in Japan. The overall experience of this Ryokan is hard to beat. The nature trail that’s right next to the entrance is an awesome 40 minute hike where you’ll see all kinds of volcanic activity such as bubbling mud pools, boiling water, steam, etc. We are a family of four with a 6 & 8 year old. The Onsen was amazing. The steam room is natural steam fed from the earth, and it’s hot! Top notch Onsen. The food was very good. No complaints about breakfast or dinner. I will find a way to come back to this Ryokan. Such a great place.

Gokake Onsen is an ancient hot spring located in Yakiyama, Akita Prefecture, Hachimantai, surrounded by the majestic nature of Hachimantai National Park. The winter snow season is the most enjoyable time to go to Gokake Hot Spring.

It is a good and confortable ryokan in an exceptional location. Service was very good overall and the food was delicious. The onsen was good and there is a mud bath. The outside bath is forgettable though. The room was clean and felt newly refurbished. Hovewer it had no view. There was a wall in front of the window like in the center of Tokyo. At that price point and this location, it was disappointing.

Immediately felt the “omotenashi” when we arrived. The staff and owner welcomed us, took our bags and placed our shoes on a shelf. All of the guests names were on signs, which was unusual for me, but felt quite special. The whole building is very warm and comfortable, with heated floors and clean, beautifully traditional rooms. Anyone looking to experience very traditional Japanese culture should come here. Meals are both delicious and healthy, being made with local ingredients and cooking style. For dinner, a hot milk chicken broth was heated over a flame and we made a soup by cooking pork, scallops and vegetables with it. The local mountain vegetables were a delicious treat. The natural beauty here is incredible, and it is clear why this area is a national park. Overall I felt we were very cared for while staying here. It did not feel forced or exaggerated, but like they genuinely cared for us. The owner takes a lot of pride in this Ryokan, and wants to share that with the guests. It really is a remarkable, relaxing and historic place.

This is an amazing place. There are gray muddy hot water little hills bursting out. There is a Japanese style hotel at the parking area. Another hot spring bath we went was Goshogake Onsen (後生掛温泉, Goshōgake Onsen). It is a hot spring on the slopes of Mount Hachimantai in Towada-Hachimantai National Park. There is also a Japanese inn with bathing facilities that can be used by staying guests, as well as by non-staying daytime visitors at a relatively reasonable fee. The hot spring bath has separate gender bathing facilities and feature multiple, attractive wooden indoor baths, steam boxes and an outdoor bath. There is also a corner where you can try applying the goshogake(black mud) on your skin. It was the first time we try applying mud on our skin. A foot bath is located outside and can be used free of charge.

We flew from New Zealand and took Hayabusa bullet train to Morioka. Hanawa line from Morioka and the Inn has pick-up shuttle around 4pm at Kazuno Hanawa station. Authentic and traditional Inn in Akita, this is a hidden gem. Everyone along the way was just so helpful and kind, hotel staff showed us genuine welcome that you can feel without doubt. Travelling and holidays can provide you with that crucial time to reflect on life and your own personal journey. You can also assume new aspects of your personality as you become influenced by your surroundings and various cultures. This is the perfect place to do that...

Oyu Stone Circle Museum offers visitors a warm welcome, along with an educational experience sure to invigorate one's love for the Jomon period. I throughly enjoyed browsing through all of the artifacts which had been collected in the area and watching the interactive display that simulated the sun's movement and how it plays a role in the use of the site. The museum also offers a range of workshops, such as crafts and hands on learning. There are guides in multiple languages and one guide even speaks quite good English! Entry is very reasonable and they also have a gift shop. It is definitely not a site to miss! Plus, there is the Oyu Onsen nearby and the new Michi no Eki which offers a footbath and Jomon ice cream!
