It's just next to the highway, but in dilapidated condition. There are layers of paint dropping, severe corrosion, everything tied with ropes. Looks like there is no active maintenance. The ship itself has a great history and gives a chance to see what life on a warship is like. Worth the visit but take care and be safe. Only cash accepted for tickets.

We visited this warship museum recently. It's informative and nice way to learn about the 1971 war and Navy's role in the decisive victory. Views of the Arabian sea from the ship deck are amazing. The ship premises are generally well maintained but pandemic seems to have affected the housekeeping a bit. The place closes at 1pm which is a bit disappointing. The ship deck would make for a nice sunset view point of it remained open at evening. Overall a pleasant experience.

Place was good even though the maintenance could be improved. The warship had several places where it was rusted and posed a danger to the kids and the old. If there was a little bit more explanation as to the chambers and the engines it would help kids and elders to understand a bit more about the functioning.

Great place to visit to look back into the great contributions of the Indian Navy. Gives a great proud feeling of pur Indian Navy. Didn't go inside, but I felt the vibes of Indian Navy. Near to the beach. Great experience. Next time, I will go inside and write a review about it.

Visited last week on a sunny day to karwar. We had a very wonderful experience at this museum. Seeing the warship from really close is a great experience. Karwar is a hidden gem of India in terms of tourism and it's mesmerizing beautiful and clean beaches. Especially the tagore beach,om beach and tilmati beach. And what makes karwar stand tall among all coastal cities is the India's largest navy base under construction known as project Seabird (INS Kadamba). It is also famous for its seafood which is available throughout the year. What makes the city top attraction is it's beautiful beaches and proximity to goa and other coastal cities. It is easily accessible from all parts of Karnataka. It has bus route connection from all cities and the road connecting to the city is good.

A great spot to get the inside view of warship. Entrance fees was 15rs. The place was not crowded in the morning. Located very close to Rabindranath Tagore beach. This along with the beach will be a good couple of hours visit. Will get the best beach view from top of the ship.

The ship war museum, although not impeccably maintained possibly due to limited funds, is worth a visit, especially if you're traveling with family and children. Situated conveniently next to the coastal highway passing through Karwar, it provides insights into the history and details related to the navy. Karwar itself holds significance as one of India's prominent naval bases. While the actual warship is on display, its upkeep could be improved. Offering an official guided tour for tourist groups would enhance the experience. The entrance fee is a mere Rs 15. I appreciated the staff's gesture; despite a power outage during the day making the interiors dark, they warmly welcomed visitors back in the evening when power was restored.

I love visiting historical places, actually this is not a historical place but a place with great history,it was the warship used in wars in 1970s,it was well maintained. Everything is been maintained properly here, starting from the entrance to the exit,even the suits used by the officers,their rooms with separate old monitors and machines work stations , everything was maintained properly. If you're a history lover you must vist here, the stories about the warship were displayed on the sides ,you can go through it, There was also missiles which was used in the wars, Overall ,must visit place if you're a history lover,I loved this place,it was also attached with Air-coolers to pamper visitors.

Certainly a must visit if you want to see what the insides of a warship looks like. Ship maintenance could be better but nonetheless it is what it is. Garden is maintained really well.

A frigate which saw action in the 1971 war serves as the museum. Somewhat in a state of disrepair but still gives a very real sense of how navy ships are, cramped, packed with machinery, and did I mention cramped? Worth a visit. Plan for around 30 minutes.

Must visit place in Karwar. Though the technology and building style of warship have changed a lot, but you will get an idea of how it was in olden days. This is a real warship used in 1971 war. It's near to Ravindranath Tagore Beach. Timing 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Lovely piece of history preserved over time. The newest addition is the the TU-142 bomber of the Indian Navy. The warplane is set to open for public from Dec 16, 2023

If you have never been on a naval ship before, this is a great chance. As some passages and entry/exit points have steep staircases and are narrow, it might inconvenience the elderly. However, not impossible to navigate through. Being in the ship shows how difficult the conditions can be especially when this magnificent beast might have sailed through the rough seas fighting enemies. The fighter jet wasnt available for visit at the time we went. Ample parking is available under the flyover opposite the Museum. Worth a visit to see the history.

It’s not often that you get to see Navy ships from inside in India. Fascinating insight into life of a sailor. Ticket is ₹15 for adults and ₹10 for kids. Should take about 30 minutes to complete

Amazing place adjoining the Highway, overlooking the Ravindranath Tagore Beach and next to the Rock Garden, the warship museum is a must visit if you come to Karwar. The INS Chapal Warship is said to have been an active warship with the Indian navy during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. For an Armed Forces enthusiast, like me this place is a must see as you can actually experience the feel of a Naval ship from inside. The latest addition to the museum is a Tupolev Tu-142 aircraft which is as big as the warship, if not bigger. Though, due to open in 2020, it still remains closed. The grounds are nice with some shade and a few places where the elderly can sit. Inside the ship is cramped and not well maintained so people with claustrophobia and disabilities need to take care. The view from the top deck is amazing. There is Ample free parking under the flyover opposite the gate. Would have given it a 5 ⭐ but for the lack of maintenance.

It was the best experience i had in recent times. There is a lot to say about this place. Rs 15 per person. You can carry your food there. The best time to visit is during the evening. Not maintained, especially when it is referring to Indian Navy. They do not allow to see the Fighter jet. We had high hopes but, were left utterly disappointed. Indian Government or Indian Navy should take more interest in maintaining and keeping this place as a major tourist attraction in Karwar.

Small temple near Kajubag. Comes into limelight once in a year during the Narasimha Jatraa. This is the second temple, another being on the other side of River Kali near Sadashivgad. The main temple is at Kadwad, from where the diety is taken by boat to the Kudumgad island, and returns after the jatraa is over. Legend has it that Lord Narasimha, after killing the demon Hinankashyap, came to this island to cool down his anger.

It’s a very nice and clean beach. No entry/parking fees and has a good vibe to simply sit on the shore or go into the river. Best time to visit is around evening after 3. There are multiple food trucks nearby during evenings. Water is clear and sunset is beautiful!! Very calm and relaxing place to be.

This beach is pristine! The sand is immaculate, the water crystal clear, and the overall cleanliness is impressive. Kudos to the staff for maintaining such a beautiful and inviting environment. A perfect spot for relaxation and enjoying the natural beauty of the coastline. Highly recommend!

This my favourite beach. Whenever I visit Karwar. I comes here atleast thrice in a week. The sunset scene is always good. The bad part is the cleanliness. You can see a line of litters all over the beach. Boat ride and Jet Ski are 2 water sports were available. Most of the people visit this place on Sunday. You can also find Kulfi and peanut sellers.

Very peaceful and clean beach. Simply loved my visit here, could spend an entire day without any disturbance. Though it was bit too sunny last Tuesday (20th Dec). The view was simply serene and the waves were not rough at all.

Beautiful beach, not so crowded and easily accessible from the Hotel Amrut Aura. Visited twice. Once during high tide and the other time during the low tide. We noticed to be a lot cleaner the first time but the reality was revealed when the tide turned. It is littered with so much plastic, packaging, bottles etc.

Not much happening at the beach . The beach needs to be well maintained in terms of cleanliness , scattered vendor shops , no pathways to walk as street vendors have occupied it .

The beach is nice and long with gentle waves. As good or in some ways better than most Goa beaches. Unfortunately, it lacks maintenance. If more effort is put to clean it and maybe open access points from the beach to the rock garden and warship museum it can be as happening as Goa beaches, if not more.

Seafood is one thing that makes us Goan go weak in the knees. So we heard about this place and travelled 100k just for food. The hype didn't last long, we tried a variety of seafood and fish thalis, nothing came close to our expectations. Seafood was mostly deep fried, something we Goans detest. The thali was ordinary, nothing stood out. Bottom line it was a fail for our Sunday expedition. There are much better places in Karwar for Seafood, try Amrut.

We visited on public holiday yet we did have to wait even if it was occupied. They have this cool humidifier system in the dining area which activates every 10min. The food is awesome and service is also fast 10-15 min max. The owner is super friendly and goes to each table and talks to the customers and takes feedback. The roads are wide enough and you can find parking near the hotel.

One of the finest meals last week. Awesome seafood! Superbly well priced. A hugely busy place with a high turnover. Recommended by many of our friends it was truly worth it! Don't miss the Butter Garlic Squid!

Absolutely loved their crab ghee roast. Also very good prawn butter garlic. Other fish fries were also good. For fish and seafood lovers, take a regular fish meal and add on your fish/crab/prawn/squid fries, ghee roast etc. It becomes very crowded at times, quite cramped dining hall and you may have to wait for table to be free. Service is fast and place is clean. Price very reasonable, specially if you are coming from tier 1 cities. Highly recommended for fish lovers if you are around Karwar city.

I was recommended to this place by a local resident while I visited Karwar, so with a hungry belly and high expectations I headed to the restaurant and I tried their Special seafood thali. They also got an option to choose primary seafood for the meal (for example - Pomfret, Mackrel, Kingfish, and others depending on the catch), in my case I chose Prawns, maybe that was the call I got from some invisible forces. The taste was amazing and unlike a standard seafood meal where you get similar-tasting side dishes, they serve different side items along. For me, there were small bowls of shellfish dry, crab curry, dry prawns chutney, and french beans dry. Rice and Curry are the primary items you get along with any meal. In addition to this, I also ordered Squid fry which was also good. The service is also good and quick. I highly recommend this place while you are in Karwar.

What an awesome experience! The fish curry was just perfect. Taste flavour and spice level was just perfect. Shell fish preparation was too good as compared to what we get in Goa. I had more expectations from Prawns ghee roast. This was just good. Prawns Biryani is a must try.

So many people recommended this place , and to say the least it deserves all the hype. The fish here is really very very fresh and very well prepared too. There are hardly any restaurants which after eating make you feel good and definitely this is one of them. Must try items are tisre cutlets, mussels rawa fry. Fish curry rice . The service and the PPL are also nice and friendly.

This place looks very small and conjusted from outside. But once you go inside, it's maintained well but the place is still small. They have non AC section in ground floor and AC section in first floor. The tables are very small. Service is delayed as it is always crowded Food is delicious because of which all other cons can be ignored. The price is on higher side. Since we visited during new year. We had taken fish thali ( bangda and surmai). Everything was delicious. I recommend this place as a must go place when in karwar to try some authentic coastal food.

Waaaaaah…. After unplanned karwaar karnataka plan we found best place in karwar green road for lunch is swetha lunch home. Small entry big ambiance is the quality of this lunch home. This lunch homes entry is very small from outside but ambiance is very vast and cool. They use mist instead of air conditioning and that is very catchy. After that about food is too good. We ordered their veg thali, masala paapad, king fish thali and chonak fish thali. All items are authentic and too good in taste. We love their food. Atmosphere and taste is very good quality. Rassa and solkadhi is very mouthwatering. Love this lunch home. Overall awesome experience. Thank you.

Food is just awesome if you love to have sea foods. Not a very big place but it’s worth to have food at the first floor. They have different thalis with different types of fishes. Curry is really good. I even like the veg one which came in thali. Service is poor , very poor. We waited almost 50 minutes for thali. Surprisingly , ordered biriyani for kids that came at the end. I requested for lemon which never came.

Nice good being a veggie I was sceptical if the place would be stinky but the new 1st floor hall is done nicely and no smell of fish at all. All my fish eating friends enjoyed the taste.

Tried the Bangude fry, noglee fry, belunji fry, pomfret fry and savandale fry. All were great except the pomfret which was dry and not fresh. Taste and quality wise the thali is good. Serving size of fish in special thali is good too. Cost is reasonable. Overall satisfied with the visit.

I was a regular visitor here, whenever used to go to Goa, yesterday we went and ordered Fish Thali, the Bangda fry was horrible and all other items in the thali, including fish curry. Only the Clamps sukha was good. asked if the cook changed, they said yes. will not visit here again.

Looks like one of the oldest hotel of Karwar. Ambience is just ok. The taste of food is good. We ordered Silver fish fry, paratha, Chicken chilli and Chicken dum biryani.

Nice & Clean dinning place. The food gives u the traditional way and traditional taste of Karwar.

During our return from Goa we went to this hotel to have seafood since it was 2:30 p.m. we could not get many food options in the hotel. However We ordered and had seafood that is pomperate fish fry thali and complete thali was very good. One of the best hotel I have visited and the food worth the price.

Contaminated food.....delivered in swiggy... Chicken lolipop was like this when I ordered in swiggy.... I never seen lolipop this way in any restaurant in India... It was the worst... Parota was wrapped in a chemical news paper and it was half cooked... All the chemicals on parota only...... Worst service

This is an iconic restaurant tucked inside the busy streets of Karwar and has served delicious meals specially fresh fish over the years and is quiet well know among the locals as well as people coming to karwar for shopping from neighboring Goa. It's open through the week from 12-3:30pm and later in the evening from 7:30 onwards till about 10:30pm. The seating is quite adequate and has A/C seating available also. The fish is sourced fresh from the nearby sea so is tasty

This place is heaven for fish lovers. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's reading this and planning to have a good food. I'm from Mumbai, visited here in December '23. I was looking for a good place to eat fish dishes in karwar along with my family. We were not very satisfied from where we had our first meal in afternoon. We have been recommended to visit the "so-called" best place to eat fish (😮‍💨Amrut) by our taxi driver as well as by lodge, but we did not enjoy the taste. But in this hotel we absolutely loved the taste as well as the behaviour of the staff. Even though the place is small, but the taste is worth. Definitely 10/10 for taste.

Latest update today. Tried fish Thalis.The quality of rice was poor and curry had no taste. Regular fish Thali had mackerel which was too cold , priced at Rs.120. The Other Thali with Velli priced 180 had hot fish, Prawn fry Thali at Rs.300. But quality of rice spoilt the entire experience. Wouldn't recommend this place anymore. Simple and fresh fish , reasonably priced.

We stopped here for a quick evening snack and sampled various chaats like masala puri, pani puri, and coffee. The flavors were average. Finding parking for a four-wheeler was a bit of a challenge. Surprisingly, the standout item was the consistently good French fries priced at 60 rupees.

We ordered Veg biryani and Curd rice, the taste of Veg biryani is not as good as expected and the curd was very sour.

Mangalore buns are good and Dosa... Chutney and sambhar don't try... It's only watery..no taste..

We had a Paneer, pav, Bhaji masala and Panipuri. It was nice awesome taste

We had ordered parcel of french fried rice which was their special menu for the particular day(3-04-2024). They even wrote (note: not printed) they literally wrote with their own hands as "FRENCH FRIED RICE" but they gave us only "FRENCH FRIES" there was no rice. Although at one point of time we could say that it was only French fries then the special menu written on the board and hand written on the bill was the term "rice" "french fried rice". They shouldn't be cheating their customers. And more over they took the double rate of the actual french fries we purchase anywhere in the other place. When ever you take anything parcel make sure your not deceived by them. And also make sure over the rate they apply for you over a menu.

Im from bangalore and i found similar taste of idly, vada and sambar. They provide very less chutney of you are taking parcel. Ask them to provide extra if you need more.

Too busy and they kept us waiting standing for a table for over 30mins until some guest sitting on a diff table offered us a seat to share the table with them. Non- ac venue. We placed the order for our food it took 20mins and the waiter forgot to put through most of our order so we just ate what we got and left. We also noticed people around having the same issue where they were waiting to ve served or getting the wrong orders etc. Pav bhaji was average, gadbad ice-cream had raisins hard as stones.. eekk wouldn't recommend this place unless you have time to while away and just want some chaat food.

Here you'll get a unique kind of Sambar with a Dosa which is nice, not much of masal that we typically find, and Goli bajji is a must try, you'll get a decent Filter coffee here, didn't impress much with Lunch here had taken thali, chapati disappointed maybe you can try Poori.

I want to give a zero for the service they have provided us. The short waiter with the glasses did not provide us any service depsite multiple requests, he ignored us through out the entire time even when we wanted to place an order.

Taj food corner located in karwar, easy accessible located in karwar town. One of the best fast food restaurant in karwar.My all time favourite here is shawarma, but sometimes have to wait for a queue loaded with crowd, Except from momos and briyani, all other food items are great in taste.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Taj Food Corner and was impressed with its diverse and flavorful offerings. They have everything from chat options to shawarma, milkshakes to slushes, desserts, snacks & many more. We have been there thrice at this place and definitely its worthwhile eating at Taj for its amazing taste & super fast service. There isn't seating capacity but as we mostly have fast food, it's very easy.

This is one of the busiest food corners in the city. This place is always crowded, especially in the evening and on the weekend. They have a wide variety of menus like Chinese,🍜 tandoori🍗, biriyani🍝, shakes🍸, ice creams🍦 and many more🍔🥘. Taste wise good but u have to wait a long time to get food.

Had dragon fruit milkshake. It was pathetic. It was very watery with neither the dragon fruit nor the milk in it. For the cost they charge neither it gives a ambience nor hygiene nor taste!! Don't go there!

A one stop shop to satisfy most of your cravings in Karwar. Visited this place 4 times in our 3 day stay in Karwar. We discovered this place on the first day amidst sweltering heat and humidity. We were in a group of 11 people and we all took fruit juices and milkshakes which were well prepared, cool and refreshing. The following evening we also sampled some of their rolls and sandwiches. All in all a very good place to grab a bite!
