Anogi is a modest eatery in Imerovigli, Santorini that offers a variety of local dishes such as moussaka, seafood, and meat along with a selection of wines. The restaurant provides an unassuming dining experience for visitors to savor authentic flavors. It's located in close proximity to other popular restaurants and attractions in the area.
5 stars and would give 10 if we could. Wait staff friendly and attentive who share all these stars with the flavorful, authentic Greek dishes. Best grilled octopus ever, lamb’s shank tender and seafood orzo perfectly cooked. Must make this one of your stops!

Amazing restaurant that was recommended to us by our hotel owner. I was tired of paying for mediocre food just because a restaurant has a view. Do yourself a favor and go here for a fantastic dinner then find a place to watch the sunset. Strongly suggest you make a reservation in advance. We showed up at 7PM without one and we were lucky. They gave us the last table they had. Servers are fantastic and make for a fun experience. Food was delicious and service was prompt. They even gave us a small dessert on the house. We had the lamb shank and it was so good we contemplated ordering a second portion. Fried calamari was nice as were the grilled vegetables. Prices were reasonable for the area. Highly recommend this restaurant for a memorable dinner.

This place has to be booked or be prepared to have a wait. Thou we did see the owner service those waiting with a small drink… The place had some amazing food. We opted for 4 appetites,as we could decided what not to have. They happily accommodate them arriving in two batches. The grilled octopus was the largest I’ve ever had and simply melted in your mouth. We didn’t have the lamb shank, but many did so can only assume it was good.
Pesh — Google review
The best meal we had in Greece. Tried the fried calamari, seafood moussaka, and the baby rooster. The service was excellent. Kudos to all staff working there. Make sure to make a reservation if you dont want to wait!
Kai Kun Ong — Google review
Amazing dinner. Definitely order the grilled octopus. My husband wished he had ordered 2. We also got the fried calamari which was awesome. Then main course was Lamb shank with crispy fried onions with rice and pork shank with potatoes. Both were great and huge. Reasonable prices. Staff was friendly and prompt. Best service we've probably had anywhere. It was clear they were happy to work there.

a cute little restaurant with gorgeous food. The calamari with the house sauce was to die for. we also had the duck and the pork steak. so amazing!!!
Leanne Morrison — Google review
Had the best food of the island here! 6/5 world recommend Anogi! Service and staff are superb. Everything taste amazing with good portion. Fresh seafood, taste like they’re fresh out of the ocean. Very tender lamb shank, rice is perfectly seasoned too. Shrimp pasta is rich in flavours - A must if you like seafood. The orange cake is not overly sweet like the other Greek desserts. Book ahead as the restaurant is usually crowded.
Chevelle Ng — Google review
We came for dinner since we stayed nearby and it was recommended. It was great and affordable. I found the calamari a bit too oily at the bottom. It would be good to drain more or have oil sheets to absorb. The seafood risotto was my absolute favorite. I highly recommend!

We wish we had visited Anogi earlier in our trip so we could have come again. Managers Lampros and Hara orchestrate a wonderful dining experience. We didn’t have a reservation (highly recommended), had ~20 people ahead of us, and we were seated in about 40 mins. The food is traditional with enough of a twist to add even more interest and flavor. Our lamb shank and chicken souvlaki dishes, and Anogi salad beforehand, were delicious and affordable for the island. You won’t get a sunset view, but you will have a memorable night.
Emme — Google review
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever had especially for the price point. Service was really good as well with friendly waiters. Grilled octopus, sea bream and lamb shank were all seasoned and cooked amazingly
James Lee — Google review
Very nicely presented food. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to sit us. We found it good value in the area when we stayed here. The service here is great extremely attentive. The food is traditional and tasty. We also got complimentary orange cake with our bill which is a nice touch.
Niall Smith — Google review
We managed to get a great spot without booking but it was very busy so we were lucky. All the staff were so friendly which always makes a difference. We asked for recommendations and had the lamb shank and sea bass which were delicious. The meatballs and Greek salad to start were also fab. No view but the setting is very pretty and you get the sky sunset colours anyway.
Hannah Lucas — Google review
By far the best authentic food we’ve had on the island. We dined here twice during our stay in Santorini. Beautiful presentation but the flavours said it all. Nothing short of excellent!! The service was fantastic with friendly staff and the owner treating you as if you were eating in his home. A definite must try!! We’ll definitely be back when we visit again!!!
Stefania Di Mambro — Google review
The food was delicious, average priced for the location. Service was outstanding, friendly and happy staff. We came in without a reservation and were able to sit down within 15 minutes.
Diana Jimenez — Google review
Such a cute place in Santorini! Loved the service, food and patio! the owner beans and Christopher made the service and experience one that's unforgettable. The food here is delicious and the restaurant itself is very clean. I highly recommend the fried feta, pork shank and grilled chicken.

I don't know how this establishment isn't a 5-star restaurant. I recently celebrated my honeymoon in Santorini and treated this island as I always do with any new country - dine with the locals and establish a connection to the culture. When I stumbled onto Anogi earlier in our trip, it was quickly crowned as the BEST - so much so we set a reservation for the final night of our trip before we even finished our meal. The service, from runners to manager/owner, was impeccable. They made you feel as if you walked into their home and the quality of food helped that case. Everything tasted home cooked with the freshest of ingredients. They put a lot of work into each plate and it showed. Not sure what you want? Ask and let them build the experience for you! I could honestly say, I'll forever be scarred to eat Greek cuisine back home because the bar was set high. I'll miss the island, but most of all, I'll miss Anogi. TIP: Set a reservation! The first time we tried to eat here, the wait was almost an hour.
Bruno Silva — Google review
Went to Anogi on the advice of a local, and what a great restaurant! I'd suggest making a reservation though, otherwise there was a line for dinner even in October. The food was great with typical large greek portions. The food was also delivered quickly and the staff were all friendly and attentive. We knew we were off to a good start when they offered a free glass of nice red wine for having to wait in line for dinner! No view from the restaurant, but great food, good prices and nice authentic greek feel to the experience.
Damien Weber — Google review
Our experience here was wonderful. I got the orzo pasta with shrimp and mussels and my husband got the veal, both were 10/10. Orange cake for dessert was delicious. Such a warm and welcoming environment, highly recommend visiting.

Greek restaurant
Ouzeri is a casual restaurant located in Fira, offering classic Greek dishes and unique cuisine with a twist. The restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere for guests to enjoy small plates, pasta, and risotto on its patio. It is conveniently situated just off the main walkway, close to Santorini Bus Stop 10 and the Museum of Prehistoric Thera.
This place is so under rated the food is so tasty and authentic, we came back twice just to try more of their incredible menu! The staff is incredibly inviting and friendly! Hands down the best food we had in Fira!
Ryan Persaud — Google review
All dishes are delicious! The service is also superb- everyone is so nice and helpful here! Definitely a real gem! The tomato fritters are the best- they are so delicious that we came back the next day ordered two orders! The orange cream filo is awesome with super crispy filo and fragrant orange cream. Definitely the best meal we had at Santorini!
Qian Zhang — Google review
This place was recommended by a friend to visit. Ouzeri did not disappoint. The staff greeted is quickly and situated us at a table. We placed our order and the food came out extremely quick. We were really surprised by the speed they were able to provide service. We loved all of the dishes we got, especially the meatballs. Wouls definitely come and eat here again.

Visited for lunch, friendly staff. Prices are quite good for a restaurant in Fira. Food was OK although partner found pork chop a little tough. But overall ambience and view was nice. Service was very attentive but not over the top. All done quickly and with a smile.
LM D — Google review
The place had a nice vibe when we were there. The boss and staff were friendly and professional. The service and food delivery was fast considering the amount of customers. The food and drinks we had were really good. We had no complaints at all and would come back if we are in Fira again.
Lynden Worrall — Google review
We've been in Greece for 5 days (Santorini for 2 days) and this was the BEST meal we've had so far. The Lamb Shank was perfect. The staff was incredibly nice and brought us out this stunning dessert. Thank you so much for an amazing night.

This little hidden gem is such a perfect place to have a quiet meal, preferably dinner, then take a stroll through the markets for some night shopping. The staff are so very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend ordering something from their specials menu on the chalkboard
Daniel Kouzan — Google review
we were recommended by our hotel reception. This is a nice restaurant just off the square in fira It is run by a little old lady who really looks after her guests. At first we were shown to a table in the back of the restaurant however it over looked an area where children were playing so it was a bit noisy the staff were happy to move us to a quieter table. The food was excellent and not too overpriced for where it is. I would recommend booking in advance as they do get busy just after sunset.
T. Mason — Google review
Located in the heart of Fira, I would highly recommend anyone looking for a delicious meal that’s decently priced and doesn’t mind not having a view of the caldera. A cozy restaurant with the most friendliest waiters! We had the best greek salad, the tomatoes and cucumbers were so vibrant and fresh, linguini with 4 huge prawns, grilled whole seabass, fried calamari and crispy potatoes. They were a little stingy with the feta and the calamari were not as big as I would have hoped. The linguini is still something i think about because it was THAT good!
Stefania D'Alessandro — Google review
One of the only places on the island you can find good, ACTUALLY authentic Greek food (coming from a half-Greek who has eaten it at home my whole life). Nice place to sit too. We really enjoyed our meal.
Anna Reck — Google review
Service was very fast and friendly. Food delicious. Only reason to reduce by one star is that portions are smaller compared to other restaurants and prices are little higher. Anyhow we would definitely recommend to come here.
Stefan W. — Google review
We visited this restaurant due to the positive reviews. We had the tomato keftedes, fava with pita bread and stuffed calamari with cocktails. Fava with warm and soft pita bread was really good. Tomato Keftedes were new to us and it was a great choice. Stuffed calamari was so-so. Not sure if the cheese really goes well with it. As with the other restaurant we visited in Santorini, we were informed that the bill excluded tips during payment. So we rounded up the bill and paid 50 EUR. Note that there isn't any sunset view from the restaurant even though it is a short walking distance to the viewpoints.

The Greek restaurant Μεταξύ Μας is a popular choice for those looking for fresh and authentic Santorinian and Cretan cuisine served with friendly service. The menu features a variety of local and Cretan dishes, making it a great choice for both locals and tourists alike. The taverna also offers delicious raki drinks.
So happy to get a late lunch at 2:30 opening today without a reservation. We were told best food on the island and I agree. Might have been the best lamb shank I have ever eaten. Fabulous service. The complimentary bread/olives/cheese and cheesecake were a lovely surprise. The patio and view were lovely. Only disclaimer is the walk down the hill road is steep for anyone that might have hip or leg issues.
Sharon Burkholder — Google review
The food is good but we didn't find it amazing. We had dinner here on two evenings as it was right next to our B&B. The service on the first evening was very good but the second day was average. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and worth visiting. The dessert which was a home made cheese cake was the best part of the meal.

Great food and great service! We had the baked asparagus, lamb shank and grilled octopus. All EXCELLENT! Service was cheerful and brisk. Atmosphere was casual and fun. We sat inside coz we didn’t book early enough - outside had beautiful views. I had an amazing experience overall! If you are in Santorini make sure you make your way here! Make a reservation though. And don’t walk - it’s at the top of a hill and a good uphill climb, arrange to get driven!

Amazing view during the evening, sat outdoors. Very good food, super friendly staff. Love the pork nugget we ordered. 4 of us ordered 5 dishes, it was very filling and scrumptious. Definitely would recommend this place.

Small place, owned by two brothers from Crete, Chania. The place serves Greek food with Cretan influences. People are friendly and the service is swift. The food is absolutely delicious making this one of the best places to try out Greek cuisine. Definitely will re-visit! Access: you will need to park on the main road and then walk a small distance to reach the restaurant. Book before you go!
Georgios Teriakidis — Google review
The best meal we had in Santorini. So good that we went back two days later! The asparagus dip is a must, same with the cheese rolls. The mains are massive and incredible. They provide complimentary shots at the start with a small plate of cheese and olives, as well as complimentary cheesecake at the end which was beyond delicious. I'm still dreaming of it 🤤
Natalie Abayof — Google review
The place is amazing! The service is great, they know their food and drinks, gave us the best recommendations ever!!! And the price is so economical, we have 7 people ate at least 8 main dishes and 4 wines, we spend bout 300 euros. We loved this place so much!

Amazing drive through the winding roads that lead up to the top of the mountain where this gem is hidden. Park at the church parking and walk down the big white stairs to the restaurant. Don’t walk the rocky path as it’s slippery. The view, the food and the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Call ahead to get a table with the view. I was able to get a table under the covered area as I called a few hours before. They are accommodating.

Ok, I cannot tell you, as a native Greek, I am very skeptical of the sort of the nouveau type of Greek cuisine, doubly so a place that can provide global level tastes and service in a small, provincial package, AND YET! Metaxi Mas was something special, really! From the fact that they actually had and honored our reservation, to the timely seating, to the exemplary, swift and helpful service, it was really a special and perhaps unexpected experience, ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that we arrived just as the place was peaking and was slammed with all its tables full. The food spoke for itself. All the presentations, temperature and portion sizes were fantastic. The tastes were certainly familiar Greek, but with that extra twist that elevated them to another level. House wines were great as well. Further, they went out of their way to make my wife's gluten free requirements and didn't even blink to our questions or requests. And did I tell you that the prices were amazingly fair? We left wondering how we wound up so full and the check reasonably light (I should not complain!). In any case, this place is so very great, and such a great opportunity to leave the beaten path of the island which is overrun. My family dinner will likely not be forgotten and will remain the top memory of Santorini and for this, again my thanks to all the staff at Metaxi Mas!

Our favourite restaurant in Santorini and the only one we came back to for lunch after we’ve had dinner a few days before. Food is excellent: can recommend the pomegranate salad and the beef fillet. Prices are fair, not excessive like at most other places on the island. The only minor inconvenience is the service: Waiters were very friendly but the place seems to operate in a special island time, it took us 2 hours to have a starter and mains over lunch. So if you are in a hurry with a tight schedule, maybe not your place. Otherwise, strong recommendation to visit!

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, but I’ll start with the most important…the food. Every single dish we ordered was delicious and full of flavour. Service was friendly and location was perfect too. It was my favourite meal in Santorini. There were locals eating there too, which is always a good sign. Reservations highly recommended.
Adrian Rymszewicz — Google review
So grateful for the nicest waiters we have met on the island. The food was also exceptional, we loved the mussels and the pork belly. Heavenly cheesecake on the house to close the amazing dinner. It couldn't have been more perfect.

Came here with my family and had an amazing time. The view was beautiful and the food… the food was amazing. We ordered 3 starters and 3 main dishes and split it all of family style. The food was delicious and I can’t wait to eat here again before our trip is over. Grape leaves with the yogurt. The cheese with asparagus, and the pork with feta sauce were my favs.

Wow, the best restaurant we went on our trip. The food was amazing, every single dish from salad to meat was so good that we almost cried. You could taste the good ingredients and the love. Besides the view out of the world and the location super romantic and lovely. PS. Very nice service staff who are always open for a good chat and do recommendations with a warm smile and a lot of charm. We liked it so much that we went twice in a row.
Maja Steinle — Google review
Service was warm and friendly. Complimentary offerings of medze and local alcohol as well as dessert of cheesecake which was good and they offered this to us without prompting us to order desserts- which was rather generous of them. Food quality was good and pricing reasonable for Santorini. Quaint traditional feel and I think probably good views of seated outside but we arrived when it was too dark to see the views
Eileen Wee — Google review
All the locals recommend this restaurant and it’s not difficult to understand why after we tried the food. We ordered the lamb shank and the baked asparagus. The asparagus was baked with local cheeses and tasted heavenly. The lamb shank was the best lamb shank that we have eaten. The meat fell off the bone so easily that we did not even have to use a knife to remove it. The restaurant also provided us complimentary cheesecake after our meal.

Food here is absolutely amazing! Went for lunch and liked it so much we went back for dinner. Grilled Octopus, Sirloin Steak, Chickpeas Stew, T-Bone Veal Steak, Pomegranate Salad and Kataifi Cheese and Jam were all winners. I highly recommend eating here, Google doesn't have enough stars for this place!
T Roberts — Google review
We absolutely loved this restaurant. Beautiful open door environment and amazing food. We tasted the katafi cheese rolls, what an incredible surprise, they were delicious! Also the broccoli soufflé, the baked asparagus and beef with vinsantos wine. The cheesecake was offered by the restaurant and it was also superb! Trip date: 14 April 2024

The kind of places that Google should have 10 stars for. Food, atmosphere, attentive staff… this was a memorable meal in whole Greece. We were planning to go back but couldn’t make it unfortunately. Eggplant salad (day special), fava bean spread and octopus were amazing! Please do not give hostess/waiters a bad time with “table with a view” requests, trust me, food is as good in the whole restaurant!
Victor Estrada — Google review
The definitive best Greek cuisine in Santorini, in fact our favourite meal in the entirety of our 3 month Europe trip. Everything from the views to the food and service were executed flawlessly, and at a great price for Santorini to boot. Service staff were attentive and friendly, and provided us with complimentary spirits and cheesecake. We will be thinking about the grilled halloumi and octopus until our next time at Metaxi Mas!
Fiona Wong — Google review
Rustic, well cooked and delicious all around. The kataifi cheese rolls (4 types of cheese) served with jam is not something you commonly find and is a must. We were served complimentary cheese and olives, raki and cheesecake. Definitely a top dining spot with foods that will not disappoint and views of the nearby hill and countryside of Santorini. It comes highly recommended but also known for difficulty in securing a seat for dinner so would suggest calling few days ahead. Got lucky in securing a table calling earlier in the day and came before general dinner time (17.00) but the terrace seating area was already packed and as such, the waiters seemed overwhelmed and it took substantial time and for taking our orders and checking the bill.

Pros: Nice staff + Welcome shot with tapas + Super delicious free Cheesecake as dessert + Tasty fried potatoes + Blanket is available if you feel cold Cons: Lamb with yoghurt sauce was okay, nothing special + Do not go there without reservation + Santorini baked white aubergines was almost tasteless; it needs more cheese and salt + Moussaka was less than okay
Hossein Abbasi (Drjacky) — Google review
This was recommended to us by Nick White during our island tour with him (reviewed). It did NOT disappoint! We had the pomegranate salad, grilled shrimp, shrimp saganaki and some pork nuggets dish that was our favorite. So freaking good! They also brought us some free cheesecake that was heaven. We sat on the terrace under umbrellas and enjoyed the view. There were two cute kittens walking around the tables getting some love, which is so Greece and pretty adorable. We highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Greek food that is super delicious!!!

Recommend from local. Delicious food with good vibes, we sat outside enjoy our dinner with the beautiful view. They have heater to keep us warm as well. I really like the linguini , seafood is so fresh and also the grilled chicken is so juicy! Only steak was a disappointed, it's kind of chewy, wish we should order lamb shank instead. Price is reasonable with wine and we had a great dinner, we would come back on our next visit.

The Athenian House is a top-rated restaurant on the island of Imerovigli with stunning views and amazing food. The service is exceptional, and the waiters are attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is calming and inviting, perfect for a romantic dinner or an outing with friends.
Food was delicious and creative, with really lovely service. We decided to opt into the tasting menu, and it blew us away. And the sunset and view is unreal; the best view we had our entire stay (1 week) in Santorini. Yes, it's expensive (as are most things in Santorini), but personally think it was worth it. Our server, Daniel, was really great - he was fun, attentive and very friendly.

We have been there when they first open in 2016, we are exciting about the opportunity to visit during 2021 October, unfortunately the entire restaurant since change to upscale pricing without upscale their food to go with it. Most the dishes are blend without much flavor. Just some fancy plating. Majority of dishes or just zucchini and tomato base that's about it. The service and the view are good, that's the only reason they get two star s

View is a 10 out of 10. The service was great at first but they seemed to have forgotten about our table with more than a 30 wait between second and 3rd courses and did not bring our bottle of wine without having to be reminded. The pacing of the whole meal was incredibly slow, even for Greece. Portions were very small (fine dining) so do not arrive hungry. Food was good but not great for the price.

Really disappointing experience - booked in advance for my honeymoon, paid deposit and was excited for this to be one of our top meals in Santorini. Parking was non-existent, finding the restaurant was like going through a labyrinth, and once we got to the restaurant, we were met with an expensive imitation of a fine dining multi-course meal. We tried two out of three menus - sad to say we had more uninspired dishes lacking flavor than not. Two stars only because the views and service were good - otherwise this would be a 1 star review.

Great innovative tasting menu. 3 tiers with one of them being a vegetarian tasting option. Service food and view are all top quality. I read in the description that the chef has earned 3 Michelin stars. I am not sure if it is at this restaurant or previous establishments but what I can say is I understand why. I particularly enjoyed the calamari gyro. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it far exceeded anything I could of imagined. Drinks were on point as well. Owner came over numerous times to check on us and explain some of the thoughts behind the dishes and drinks. It is a small place so make a reservation early. The view is beautiful. Oh, a heads up they give you instructions on how to get to the restaurant on their website. Look at them closely as it can be a little but tricky. Yes, speaking from experience lol

The Athenian house is a on of the top 50 discovery restaurant’s in Santorini. It over looks one of the old Venetian castle ruins into the Aegean Sea. Since it faces west the sunsets are amazing to watch from your dinner table. The menu in this restaurant changes by season and highlights local ingredients to create delicious meals. The restaurant takes reservations through their website. There is no calendar to pick dates and time just yet but a email requesting a date and time is the best way to reserve your table. A deposit of €100 is collected during the reservation and is applied to your meal when you visit. Our visit to Athenian house was very memorable as it was our last day in Greece celebrating our honeymoon. We picked from the Ala carte menu since it had the most accommodating dietary options. Initially we had the wait staff bringing wrong dishes to our table - which the restaurant promptly addressed. Following this we had a wonderful time (laughter, conversation etc) with a couple sitting next to us and our maitre d'. Giving a 3/5 stars because - 1. service issues - wrong food items & not being attentive to cutlery 2. The food that was served wasn’t as extraordinary for the price. Expect to spend ~$400. The salads - summer bouquet & ruccola & strawberry salad both didn’t hit the spot for us.

We had our 8th Anniversary dinner here Saturday night and it was an experience. If you like chain restaurants you can find anywhere, this is not the place for you. The food was so well thought out with real attention to details with presentation and the order in which you eat your meal. Having a fixed menu helps with quality control, but it also allows the chef to master the menu and it was masterful. Everything was perfection. The wine was great, service was top notch, and the views were stunning. So glad we grabbed a reservation months ago for this, since it totally lived up to its reputation as being the best on the island.

Perfect spot for a romantic dinner with an unforgettable view. We got engaged in santorini and this was our first dinner afterward! 💍❤️ Make sure to book reservations as my partner got the help of our proposal organizer to make our 6:30 pm table happen. 6:30 was a perfect time where the sun was just starting to set and we could have the perfect sunset view. No matter where you sit outside you’ll have an amazing view. The ambience was lovely. Beautiful music and kind service. The view is unbeatable! So happy for the full plant-based menu option. Went with the origins menu which used vegetables in such unique and interesting ways. Loved the pasta dish on that menu, the summer pasta. We also had white wine which went really well. This was one of the most perfect and romantic dinners of my life. Thank you so much!

This is going to be a loaded review. I’ll start with the view, the view was amazing! You are 100% paying for the view and service IMO. We arrived just before sunset and had some good time in the sun and then were able to watch the sunset and stay for dessert well after dark. It’s a great place to see the views from the cliff side and see the cliff side lit up at night. Second, the service was incredible. Waiters and waitresses do an amazing job making sure they explain how it works and what each dish is. The night started trying to find the restaurant. The paths and streets on the cliff side wind and drop and climb, which is amazing to experience, but it does make it difficult to find where you need to go. I would recommend just stopping at the first restaurant you see and ask them where to go as Google walk is not the easiest to use on those awesome paths. Now for the food. Personally, this was not for me. The food did not taste great, as expected at a fancy restaurant, the portion sizes were small, the food was puréed and shaped to the way it was wanted. The best part for me was the strawberry salad and then the dessert. The rest of the food really was sub par and I’ve had better food for way cheaper at other places in Santorini. So if you’re going for the best tasting food at a lower price or even moderate price, I would skip this one. However, if you are okay with the higher prices, want an experience with the view and service and consider yourself a “foodie”, then this would be the place for you.

After being very excited for our reservation, dinner was a disappointment. We paid $100 ahead of time to reserve the spot but were not informed until we sat down that each person would spend $155-180 without drinks. Our bill was $450, and while the food was pretty good, that was simply not what we were looking for. I wish that had been disclosed ahead of time. We left feeling a little upset about we were pressured to tip well. The service was ok - they were unable to make my husband’s favorite cocktail, and at that price-point, they should have been switching out our silverware every course. The servers were all nice I think the place itself just isn’t run very well and we were left feeling a bit like we were scammed, especially since we made a non-refundable deposit on the reservation without being told how WAY above average the meals would cost. The food was decent - not worth the price (we’ve had just as good at small local restaurants) but interesting if you’re looking for a tasting. Of course, we didn’t know we were going to a tasting. I will say that the restaurant was nice enough to switch around our day for us, but that honestly just did not make up for the experience. The view, though, is amazing. If you don’t mind spending and are looking for an incredible view and a really upscale atmosphere then this will work for you.

This restaurant is on another level. There are hundreds of restaurants in Santorini, but this is the number 1, best of the best. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent too. Shout out to Daniel for going above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable night. Only warning -if you're in a group the likelihood is you'll be sat further from the end of the balcony, and there are big umbrellas that might obscure your view of the sunset.

Amazing. I live in Chicago where we have 24 Michelin rated restaurants… this tops most of them in regard to quality/tasted of food. I read some negative reviews and was skeptical about coming, I am SO glad I ignored them. We went for my boyfriends birthday and it was perfect. The views were incredible. The staff was first rate. And the food was the best in Santorini. The manager moved us to a table with a better view of the sunset which made the evening and they made sure to bring out abs extra dessert with a candle- its the little things. Don’t pass through Santorini without dining here.

It's about as close to perfect as any restaurant I have eaten at has gotten. Everything was innovative, and the service was impeccable! This was the summer 2023 menu, so full disclosure the menus I posted will likely be different with each visit. It was 6 courses including desert and bread. Each course is captured in my pictures, and I don't have a single complaint. Strawberry salad with goat cheese was amazing and refreshing. The main course was filling and flavorful with a perfect mix of spicing. The view was a 10 out of 10 for sure. The staff was welcoming and tended to our every need. Special shout out to the team and Prodroryos for making the first night of our honeymoon in Santorini special. Would highly recommend this experience for anyone in the area. Overall, I give The Athenian House a 5 out of 5, a must visit.

Beautiful food, amazing service, and innovative delicious food. It's a tasting menu with a five or six course option. Prodrouos, the maitre d', and the entire team was great at explaining all the dishes. Give yourself extra time and patience to find this hidden gem as Google walk isn't the best in the small cliff side steps.

Fine dining restaurant
Selene is a Michelin starred restaurant on Santorini that has been in operation for over 40 years. The menus focus on lunar-inspired dishes with a seafood emphasis. There are also a few a la carte options.
The dinner at Selene was chilled and pleasant sitting in the Garden area on warm Greek summer evening. There were a couple of hiccups of the evening but the staff was wiling to improve their service and food was delicious but the portion of the pre-dinner dishes could be slightly smaller and in general we enjoyed the experience. When the higher management learnt about our initial experience of the evening at Selene did not succeed our expectations, they were very willing to work out the way to improve our experience and make the effect to make up for us. All in all, I recommend visitors to visit the beautiful building and enjoy their hospitality.

We are fans of chef Botrini (as evident from rating his Athens restaurant with 5/5). The Santorini restaurant's ambience is wonderful. There is attention to detail and the overall feeling is high end. That said, I highly regret dinner for 2 at Selene: it costed almost as much as a pair of Louboutin heels, minus the joy of owning and wearing them. Upon arrival we discovered the menus were not the ones displaying online but instead just a choice between a 3-course a la carte (of sorts), at 125 euro per person, and a bigger tasting menu at 210 euro (!) per person. We went for the "cheap" option. Each course featured 3 choices, expect 1 of the 3 was not available (and not substituted for) at the firsts section - completely unacceptable. The food was good (and very good looking) but not exquisite - there was a sense of "good enough for tourists" about it. The service was friendly but overly aggressive. Wine glasses were refilled after every couple of sips and we basically finished our bottle before the main course arrived. Subsequent suggestions were in the neighbourhood of 45 per glass (we succumbed). Despite ordering the "economy" menu we managed a 520 euro bill (prior to the tip) for 2. We take no issue with the amount per se, but when one negotiates at this price point one expects a certain level of satisfaction. This was nowhere near value for money. Crucially, immediately after the five hundred* euro dinner we went for drinks and ordered mini burgers and grilled prawns too. Not coming back.

Visited this place on May 27 2023. The atmosphere is really nice. It's a beautiful place with outdoor seating. The walk In is lined with cool historic photos. My opinion of the food was that it wasn't that good. i didn't like the mains. the first few courses were strong, and desert was good. Had two very poor experiences with Service. First the waitress pouring our wine misoperated the Coravin wine pouring device and spilled half the glass of wine onto the table. After cleaning it up, she did not finish the pour into my wife's glass. paid full price for less than half a glass of wine. Second issue was the waiter failed to let us know that replacing an item on the menu would incur a significant surcharge. Even if both these experiences had not happened, i did not feel the meal would have lived up to the cost of the meal.

VERY luxurious, in an old-school luxury kind of way, with white tablecloths and proper service. Not trying to be hip or edgy and it works for them. Beautiful space, great food and wines, good service. You get what you pay for though; it is very expensive.

My daughter and I made our reservation at Selene well ahead of our trip to Greece and very glad we did. From the moment you walk in you know you are in for a great experience. The restaurant is in an old monastery and the ambience is spectacular and very luxurious. From the minute you are seated, the service is spectacular and there is no detail left out. We had the tasting menu which consisted of more courses than I can count and each one was equally amazing. The service was awesome and all the staff were helpful and friendly and really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The restaurant is not in the least pretentious or stuffy. It was very pricey but in all sincerity, it was well worth the cost. If I was able to, I would definitely rate at 5+ stars. Highly recommend!

An Exceptional Fine Dining Restaurant. A memorable experience. We selected the Chef's tasting menu. Very tasty food and each dish build up the preparation for the next plate to come. The 230 Euro per person is well worth the spending. A must to eat.

The atmosphere and the history of this restaurant is worth the visit. Additionally the service was exceptional by all the staff. The only downside was some dishes which we expected to be better but the staff welcomed our review when pointed out.

One of the top 10 meals I have ever had in my life. The service was impeccable and prompt. The ambience was very nice - you could be in the center of things if you wanted , or more secluded. The way the tables and furnishings were set up, guests had choices. And the food was incredible. Many dishes had stories tied to the local lore and culture (eg an old fishermen's lunch wrapped in paper, earthy mushrooms from the forest, lava salt from the isalnds). The colors and richness of the dishes were exciting and the flavor, particularly the umami dishes, were nice. Dessert for me ran a little long - we had 3 or four courses of desserts, and a few of them had multiple bites. On the other hand, it's really good value for how many plates you get. There were so many standouts... one was the custard that was both hot and cold (how do they do it?) and had crunchy corn element and warm spinach cream. Another was the zucchini quiche that looked like it was out of a Hollywood movie. Also - the espresso martini here... best I've had in my whole life. It hits exactly where it needs to, and it's just alcoholic enough. The flavor is intense and rich, so luscious. Would go here again next time I'm in Santorini.

Selene offers an absolute top notch dining experience. It was the culinary highlight of our Greece trip. Foremost, the food is authentic, and incredibly creative. We elected to do the ‘a la cartel’ option - which is served in a prefix menu format, but you’ll have options for each course. Highlights for us included the vegetarian carpaccio, various fish based main courses, and outstanding desserts. The bread is also the best we’d tried in Greece. Second, the atmosphere perfectly complements the food. Located in a monastery (which is still partially in use); the courtyard is beautifully appointed and incredibly charming. Finally, it was apparent that the staff deeply cares , and each went out of their way to elevate the experience. Service is top notch across the board. We look forward to returning one day - as this was a highlight from the trip.

Selene deserves 5 stars based off of the Google categories. The food was phenomonal and the servers were attentive. The stories behind every plate make the experience enjoyable. This was my favorite restaurant I visited outside of Botrini. If you have time to dine at both I highly recommend it. Don't shy away from indulging in the olive oil they serve either!

We came here for dinner based on Google and to be honest, wish we had read the reviews closely prior to attending. The restaurant ambiance and staff were great. Walking into the restaurant you definitely get the feeling of high end. The staff are friendly and welcoming. That gets 5/5 However, the food did not live up to its hype. For two, our bill came to about 700 euros and we still had to order room service when we got back to our hotel. I’ve been to many other restaurants that are Michelin stars or have Michelin-star chefs and I enjoyed them much better. I didn’t have an issue paying the bill but, for 700 euros, I expected a certain level of satisfaction which wasn’t there. Wouldn’t be on my recommend restaurants.

Last night, I dined at Selene restaurant. Before going, I had reservations due to the mixed Google reviews I had read. However, I prefer forming my own judgments, and I'm delighted I did. Having spent the past two weeks in Santorini, with a background in the culinary and hospitality industry, I relish experiencing local cuisine and fine dining options wherever I travel. Prior to my visit, I knew Selene was known for fine dining, so my expectations were high. Although finding this hidden gem along a cobblestone alley from a main road was a bit challenging, the beautiful building's entrance welcomed me. The hostess escorted us to the main restaurant, sharing its history as a former monastery still partially in use. This unique blend of old-world charm and modern artistry immediately captivated me. Stepping into the main dining area, a stunning courtyard with a Moroccan ambiance transported me to a different Santorini. Seated by a serene pond, surrounded by palm trees, birdsong, and a well-curated soundtrack, the ambiance was exceptional. When it came to the gastronomic journey, I was pleased to have three options: a tasting menu, a vegetarian version, and an à la carte selection. Despite concerns about portion size in previous reviews, each dish from start to finish was exciting, meticulously crafted, and bursting with flavor. The staff's knowledge was impressive; every team member could eloquently describe the dishes. Opting for the wine pairing, I was equally impressed by the exceptional wines that flawlessly complemented each course, generously poured throughout the evening. The service and food preparation were impeccable, earning another perfect score. In summary, Selene is not your typical Greek taverna or budget-friendly eatery. It's a hidden fine dining oasis, and such quality comes at a price. If you seek a breathtaking view of the caldera, you won't find it here. However, if you appreciate world-class cuisine and impeccable service, this restaurant exceeds expectations. I left Selene still savoring the exquisite meal, and it's a rare experience to be this satiated the next day. I wish the restaurant continued success and believe people should exercise caution when posting online reviews, as they can unfairly impact businesses. Selene is a testament to a restaurant that truly cares. A perfect ten out of ten.

I will fly from Texas again to eat at Selene! (Oh, and Greece was nice too ;) Truly incredible ‘mnemes’ experience with around 20 courses total— almost every bite was amazing and had to be savored. And the staff was incredibly hospitable too. Great job, team!
