Probably one of the best restaurants here in Santorini. Great ambience, really good, traditional food and all for a very good price! Can only recommend it

Great food with very friendly service! We got the stuffed squid and our server even recommended we go with grilled over baked which turned out great! And we also got the fried cod which at first looked like cheap freezer fish and chips, but turned out to be an incredibly flavored fried fish. One of the best fried fish I've ever had! And the garlic sauce was super good! But beware, the garlic sauce is very very strong! So no smooching right after eating it unless you got really good breath mints! We also got the stuffed pepper which was different than the kinds we are used to back in the states, but was still very good!

Absolutely amazing. The spicy cheese spread is worth a trip across the world in my opinion. Lamb was cooked perfectly as well as the calamari and our server was great and very proud of the establishment and how far it’s come from where they used to be due to word of mouth.

Absolutely amazing local tavern with warm, welcoming hosts. Top 5 best tasting food we’ve ever had while traveling. Highly recommend! We went twice in two days and their hospitality was simply incredible.

Friendly service. It was a Thursday in very early April, place was packed with locals (except us) , live folk music being played. Service really good , friendly waiters took time to help with the menu and suggestions, and food was exceptionally good, and very reasonably priced. Couldn't have asked for better, we had a great evening.

We Had the Greek omelette over here and it was brilliant! Too many olives and that was the only negative. Maybe I'm biased because I don't like olives. The freshly squeezed orange juice was phenomenal! Must try! We went here for breakfast and I'm sure we'll visit again to have lunch or dinner, to try the amazing menu.

Probably the most "Greek local" restaurant we stumbled upon - gave us free starters, small bottle of alcohol and a small sweet treat at the end. Small plates were fresh and satisfying, reasonably priced. We got 6 dishes, drinks and bread and it came up to 70 euro (with 10% tip included).

This lovely restaurant will catch your heart! The atmosphere is very nice, and food is 100% worth the visit! One of our fav restaurants in Santorini!

Great food, from local ingredients. Portions could be a bit bigger. A bit too load music in site but when sorted outside all was fine. Quick and nice service. Great to find was suguck with cheese - one of best I ever had. It’s a great place where locals also go. This place is for food not for views as there are not too many views here. It’s located in city center.

The food was absolutely amazing with such affordable prices! Everyone served us with a smile and was so grateful we had a wonderful meal and experience! I highly recommend this restaurant especially since it is not on the hustle of Fira. Messaria has wonderful authentic Greek cuisine! Do NOT miss out on this restaurant! The owner even greeted us at the end of our meal asking how it was, and gifted us with free dessert. So generous!

The food is good but we didn't find it amazing. We had dinner here on two evenings as it was right next to our B&B. The service on the first evening was very good but the second day was average. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and worth visiting. The dessert which was a home made cheese cake was the best part of the meal.

Great food and great service! We had the baked asparagus, lamb shank and grilled octopus. All EXCELLENT! Service was cheerful and brisk. Atmosphere was casual and fun. We sat inside coz we didn’t book early enough - outside had beautiful views. I had an amazing experience overall! If you are in Santorini make sure you make your way here! Make a reservation though. And don’t walk - it’s at the top of a hill and a good uphill climb, arrange to get driven!

Amazing view during the evening, sat outdoors. Very good food, super friendly staff. Love the pork nugget we ordered. 4 of us ordered 5 dishes, it was very filling and scrumptious. Definitely would recommend this place.

Small place, owned by two brothers from Crete, Chania. The place serves Greek food with Cretan influences. People are friendly and the service is swift. The food is absolutely delicious making this one of the best places to try out Greek cuisine. Definitely will re-visit! Access: you will need to park on the main road and then walk a small distance to reach the restaurant. Book before you go!

The best meal we had in Santorini. So good that we went back two days later! The asparagus dip is a must, same with the cheese rolls. The mains are massive and incredible. They provide complimentary shots at the start with a small plate of cheese and olives, as well as complimentary cheesecake at the end which was beyond delicious. I'm still dreaming of it 🤤

The place is amazing! The service is great, they know their food and drinks, gave us the best recommendations ever!!! And the price is so economical, we have 7 people ate at least 8 main dishes and 4 wines, we spend bout 300 euros. We loved this place so much!

Amazing drive through the winding roads that lead up to the top of the mountain where this gem is hidden. Park at the church parking and walk down the big white stairs to the restaurant. Don’t walk the rocky path as it’s slippery. The view, the food and the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Call ahead to get a table with the view. I was able to get a table under the covered area as I called a few hours before. They are accommodating.

Ok, I cannot tell you, as a native Greek, I am very skeptical of the sort of the nouveau type of Greek cuisine, doubly so a place that can provide global level tastes and service in a small, provincial package, AND YET! Metaxi Mas was something special, really! From the fact that they actually had and honored our reservation, to the timely seating, to the exemplary, swift and helpful service, it was really a special and perhaps unexpected experience, ESPECIALLY in light of the fact that we arrived just as the place was peaking and was slammed with all its tables full. The food spoke for itself. All the presentations, temperature and portion sizes were fantastic. The tastes were certainly familiar Greek, but with that extra twist that elevated them to another level. House wines were great as well. Further, they went out of their way to make my wife's gluten free requirements and didn't even blink to our questions or requests. And did I tell you that the prices were amazingly fair? We left wondering how we wound up so full and the check reasonably light (I should not complain!). In any case, this place is so very great, and such a great opportunity to leave the beaten path of the island which is overrun. My family dinner will likely not be forgotten and will remain the top memory of Santorini and for this, again my thanks to all the staff at Metaxi Mas!

Our favourite restaurant in Santorini and the only one we came back to for lunch after we’ve had dinner a few days before. Food is excellent: can recommend the pomegranate salad and the beef fillet. Prices are fair, not excessive like at most other places on the island. The only minor inconvenience is the service: Waiters were very friendly but the place seems to operate in a special island time, it took us 2 hours to have a starter and mains over lunch. So if you are in a hurry with a tight schedule, maybe not your place. Otherwise, strong recommendation to visit!

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, but I’ll start with the most important…the food. Every single dish we ordered was delicious and full of flavour. Service was friendly and location was perfect too. It was my favourite meal in Santorini. There were locals eating there too, which is always a good sign. Reservations highly recommended.

So grateful for the nicest waiters we have met on the island. The food was also exceptional, we loved the mussels and the pork belly. Heavenly cheesecake on the house to close the amazing dinner. It couldn't have been more perfect.

Came here with my family and had an amazing time. The view was beautiful and the food… the food was amazing. We ordered 3 starters and 3 main dishes and split it all of family style. The food was delicious and I can’t wait to eat here again before our trip is over. Grape leaves with the yogurt. The cheese with asparagus, and the pork with feta sauce were my favs.

Really nice place to eat and enjoy a great view of the island towards the sea. Food was spectacular, very tasty and great portions!! Staff was very kind and service fast but very friendly.

Wow, the best restaurant we went on our trip. The food was amazing, every single dish from salad to meat was so good that we almost cried. You could taste the good ingredients and the love. Besides the view out of the world and the location super romantic and lovely. PS. Very nice service staff who are always open for a good chat and do recommendations with a warm smile and a lot of charm. We liked it so much that we went twice in a row.

Service was warm and friendly. Complimentary offerings of medze and local alcohol as well as dessert of cheesecake which was good and they offered this to us without prompting us to order desserts- which was rather generous of them. Food quality was good and pricing reasonable for Santorini. Quaint traditional feel and I think probably good views of seated outside but we arrived when it was too dark to see the views

All the locals recommend this restaurant and it’s not difficult to understand why after we tried the food. We ordered the lamb shank and the baked asparagus. The asparagus was baked with local cheeses and tasted heavenly. The lamb shank was the best lamb shank that we have eaten. The meat fell off the bone so easily that we did not even have to use a knife to remove it. The restaurant also provided us complimentary cheesecake after our meal.

Food here is absolutely amazing! Went for lunch and liked it so much we went back for dinner. Grilled Octopus, Sirloin Steak, Chickpeas Stew, T-Bone Veal Steak, Pomegranate Salad and Kataifi Cheese and Jam were all winners. I highly recommend eating here, Google doesn't have enough stars for this place!

We absolutely loved this restaurant. Beautiful open door environment and amazing food. We tasted the katafi cheese rolls, what an incredible surprise, they were delicious! Also the broccoli soufflé, the baked asparagus and beef with vinsantos wine. The cheesecake was offered by the restaurant and it was also superb! Trip date: 14 April 2024

The kind of places that Google should have 10 stars for. Food, atmosphere, attentive staff… this was a memorable meal in whole Greece. We were planning to go back but couldn’t make it unfortunately. Eggplant salad (day special), fava bean spread and octopus were amazing! Please do not give hostess/waiters a bad time with “table with a view” requests, trust me, food is as good in the whole restaurant!

The definitive best Greek cuisine in Santorini, in fact our favourite meal in the entirety of our 3 month Europe trip. Everything from the views to the food and service were executed flawlessly, and at a great price for Santorini to boot. Service staff were attentive and friendly, and provided us with complimentary spirits and cheesecake. We will be thinking about the grilled halloumi and octopus until our next time at Metaxi Mas!

Rustic, well cooked and delicious all around. The kataifi cheese rolls (4 types of cheese) served with jam is not something you commonly find and is a must. We were served complimentary cheese and olives, raki and cheesecake. Definitely a top dining spot with foods that will not disappoint and views of the nearby hill and countryside of Santorini. It comes highly recommended but also known for difficulty in securing a seat for dinner so would suggest calling few days ahead. Got lucky in securing a table calling earlier in the day and came before general dinner time (17.00) but the terrace seating area was already packed and as such, the waiters seemed overwhelmed and it took substantial time and for taking our orders and checking the bill.

This was recommended to us by Nick White during our island tour with him (reviewed). It did NOT disappoint! We had the pomegranate salad, grilled shrimp, shrimp saganaki and some pork nuggets dish that was our favorite. So freaking good! They also brought us some free cheesecake that was heaven. We sat on the terrace under umbrellas and enjoyed the view. There were two cute kittens walking around the tables getting some love, which is so Greece and pretty adorable. We highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Greek food that is super delicious!!!

AMAZING meal, I’d go back to Santorini just to eat here. I wish we had more nights to experience other dishes. Everything was perfect, service was so friendly, atmosphere is scenic and cozy, food is out of this world

Recommend from local. Delicious food with good vibes, we sat outside enjoy our dinner with the beautiful view. They have heater to keep us warm as well. I really like the linguini , seafood is so fresh and also the grilled chicken is so juicy! Only steak was a disappointed, it's kind of chewy, wish we should order lamb shank instead. Price is reasonable with wine and we had a great dinner, we would come back on our next visit.

We loved that place and ate there every night (our AirBnB was close). It felt authentic, simple, easy. Waitresses were adorable and food is amazing. Childrens playing and cat waiting for you to pet them. Great moments.

This is an out of the way homemade food style at a great price, I much enjoyed my meal, though I felt a bit bad for the begging cat to my side, but I was unsure if I should share or whether it was improper to do so. I needed a bit of salt and pepper for my dish which was an orzo pasta with a stewed beef and tomato's and parmesan for 12 euro. But that is likely the fault of my over salted palate, and I expect the few negative reviews on this location could have been fixed with a bit of salt and pepper.

Ran into this place while in the neighborhood and loved it! The waitress gave us some strong recommendations, and it was fairly healthy with several beans and lentil options that were delicious. Recommend the black peas with spinach, salad (forgot which one), and the omelette! The potatoes that came with the pork belly was actually more tasty than the pork belly.

Super homey place with great food and very friendly atmosphere. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. Food was excellent. Lots of vegetarian options too. The chickpea dish was delicious.

Stumbled across this place walking. A real find! Best food I’ve had on the island. And best food I’ve had in a long time. We got the belly pork and the chicken with peas and and a cretoan salad. The staff were amazing. Seemed a very local place and a far cry from the overpriced thira and Pyrgos restaurants.

My best meal in Santorini, and I have dined at the most appreciated by locals to fine dining. Attentive and fast service. Unique decor and Greek ambiance. Will definitely return!

Very nice place with home made dishes in very affordable prices, kind personal and outdoor terrace. Good also for spending the evening with a group of friends. Most of customers we saw were local what makes it even more authentic. We will come back there tomorrow :)

Authentic greek food as far as I know, there were lots of locals at the resturant and we kind of stumbled upon the place. I quite enjoyed the food and the outdoor seating area, lots of stray cats around as well.

We came with a stroller on a rainy Friday. The personnel was very polite and we had coffee and lunch. Cute space, although usually people sit outside. The music matches the cuisine nicely and the overall atmosphere is very relaxed - contrary to many places on the island nowadays.

The waitress was super kind and helpful from the minute one, she recommended us what to eat and did not disappoint at all!! The food was DELICIOUS and the ambie t was so relaxing and calm. 100% recommended, if I go back to the island for sure I'll be back!!!

If you want to avoid typical restaurant traps for tourists - this is great place to meed and taste local food in nice local atmosphere.

We've had three meals from this adorable Cretan/Greek Taverna that has delicious home-cooked, healthy meals with excellent veggie, vegan and meat options. It's different to other greasier takeaway places nearby on the island and has been perfect for us trying to rest up and eat well. Service is impeccable and I can't fault them. Would recommend their Cretan salad, black eyed peas and any specials they have on.. oh and also the ice cream!

Quality cretan cuisine in the heart of Santorini Island. It is located on a very nice spot with a view to the local square. Traditional ntakos salad was tasty, but the portion was quite small.

Great little cafe, food was delicious - had the Greek sausage with awesome cheese dip, and small meze (which was pretty big!) at very reasonable prices. Very friendly waiter gave some good recommendations. Nice view and music, chill vibe. Definitely would go back there.

Had brunch here, they have a bunch of cocktails and great platters, we loved it! The greek platter was great, loved the cream cheese in the peppers! We were a bit disappointed on the cheese with honey and sesame seeds, as we were expecting more honey and it was not very sweet :( but it was still great!

Delicious food, very good portion sizes and well priced. The staff were friendly and we really enjoyed the shaded terrace.

We went to Brusco for breakfast 3 days out of the 4 we were in Greece for our trip. 10/10 recommend. The cappuccinos and lattes were incredible along with the fresh food. The service was pretty quick. All of the food was amazing including the sourdough bread. The seating was great outside under the trees. This was our favorite breakfast spot while here!

We went here almost every day. It has by far the best coffee on the island. However, it is so popular, that you sometimes have to wait in line to be seated. The Greek salad is also really really good.

Let me start with the fact that the coffee was really good, and the barista was sweet and attentive. Granola was also delish. We were a group of 5, and the table was very small. We attached two small tables but they made us separate them though the place wasn’t full. We basically ate off our laps and chairs. The waitress could have been a bit nicer. Perhaps too tired.

We, me and my wife, had a Greek salad and a Greek platter to share. We have had several Greek salads during the years but this was the best. Some wine leads and capers did magic to the taste. And the Greek platter was awesome. A great mix of really nice tastes.

Good food and great place to absorb the village of Pyrgos. After asking for the check, flagged the waiter down after five minutes who said he forgot. Then, he processed our card while turned away talking to another table. Rude.

Brusco is a great choice on a cold or rainy evening as it has a covered area with heating. We ended up here on an unusually cold and rainy evening in April, on the recommendation of our villa manager, and we had some fantastic food, our only regret is that we weren't able to return. We shared a Greek platter and cheese pie. We long to return again some time!

Beautiful authentic local and fresh food. Plenty of dishes with local fava beans. Relaxed atmosphere with polite and generous staff. Great location. Alcohol available too. Popular with tourists and locals alike. Salads, fish, traditional Greek dishes, healthy and delicious, highly recommend.

First time in Santorini, I stumbled upon Brusco and absolutely loved it! The food was delicious. My server was Panos, and he was so sweet, and attentive and gave me great recommendations! I will definitely be back here again! 10 stars! (:

The breakfast and service was so good here we returned for lunch and breakfast the following 2 days. Far superior to other Santorini tourist traps. The food was fresh, well presented and great portion size. Thanks for the amazing service.
