Diocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph (Bamboo Organ Church)

The Saint Joseph Parish Church, also known as the Bamboo Organ Church, is a Catholic church located in Las Pinas on the outskirts of Metro Manila. The church features a school and gift shop, but is most famous for its bamboo pipe organ which was built between 1816 and 1824 by Spanish priest Padre Diego Cera. The organ is considered a national cultural treasure and contains mainly bamboo pipes due to limited resources at the time of construction.
15APR2022 5 STAR 7:52am It was starting to get hot and we are on the third Church for our Visita Iglesia 2022. The was beautiful, it's a very old Baroque style church that was built in 1816. The parking are is small but there's a male giving assistance to visitors so they could park. I like the interior as well as the exterior of the church. We started our prayers with ease. After 30mins we took off.

Attended Mass in Las Pinas to see the national treasure Bamboo Organ. It's great to see especially knowing that it was completed in year 1824. You can hear it played in Sunday Mass (i attended the 6pm mass schedule). The church is also an old heritage church. The sound of the organ is, for me, similar to the more current metal organs, so it's amazing to know that it's made of bamboo. There' also a museum beside the church that one can visit for a fee.

I went here during Bisita inglesia, but sadly I didn't get to see inside because a mass was held adjustcent to this building. After the mass then they will open this place with a procession.

This isbthe site of the first and the only bamboo church organ in the Philippines and is considered a national treasure. It is well preserved and it has been used in several concerts before the pandemic.

Beautiful church with bamboo organ. Next to the church you'll find the interesting bamboo organ museum. The lady guide knows a lot about the church and the organ and gives you a nice tour through museum and church!

It is a beautiful historical shrine, displaying an unusual functioning bamboo organ built over 100 years ago. The church is beautiful and you can get up close to the organ. It produces beautiful sound. You can also visit the museum that explains the history of the site and the organ. It has a nice courtyard to sit and rest in.

After arriving to Las Piñas in 1795 Father Diego Cera started to build the church made from adobe (volcanic) stones in the Earthquake Baroque architectural style. In 1816, when the stone church was almost complete, he started building the organ made of bamboo and completed the instrument in 1824. The church was destroyed by three earthquakes in 1829, but was quickly restored. Between 1971 and 1975, the church was restored again to bring back the 19th-century look of the church.

Mary Immaculate Parish Nature Church, located in Levitown, is a serene and peaceful place that offers daily masses. Despite its proximity to the city, the church provides a sense of tranquility and heritage. The open-air design allows for a refreshing breeze and a connection to nature, making it an ideal location for contemplation or even weddings. While some visitors note the smell from the nearby creek, many appreciate the unique ambiance and distinctive lighting within the church.
If you want a garden feels Catholic wedding, this a good option in the south. It's breezy and its a plus that its an al fresco type. Highly recommended this Pandemic 💖

First time to hear mass here near my daughter's home. An open air church. Nice place.
Eric Reonal — Google review
We went to get some documents. Staff and security was great and very accommodating. The place was very quiet and I would have loved to stay and just enjoy the peace, specially at the chapel. The only downside was the smell of the creek, but I guess it can't be helped.
Lorenzo Hernandez — Google review
When you enter the church, a cool breeze envelops you, followed by a sense of peace and quiet as the traffic and surrounding city noise fade into the background. This church is where my relatives grew up so this place has a lot of heritage and history and is a returning beacon for those of us who are far away. A very beautiful church and is worth a visit if you're in the area.

Multi purpose cathedral... nice spacious and well lit and ventilated all- ocassion place. Lots parking spaces and shops/restaurants/mall/hotel nearby. Built in consonance with the Golden Haven Memorial Chapels/Park.

Great place to pray! You may visit and pray, especially through the intercession of St. Ezekiel Moreno (who became a Parish Priest before of St Joseph [Bamboo organ]). His 1st class relic is located at the altar, which could be venerated. He's the patron Saint for the impossible cases and cancer patients. The Church itself has a beautiful altar, very high ceiling, steel pipe organ at the choir loft, glass windows, heavy power ceiling fans, wide pews, clean area and the like. They also have a columbarium below. Since it is located at Villar Sipag complex at C5 Extension Las Piñas, it has a lot of available parking. There are also nearby food outlets and restaurants for a post-activity bonding with families and friends.

1st time playing here and I feel like their court was big (it was for me 😅). We rented a court for 400 pesos an hour fee. If you will do rent a court, just make sure that you have a shuttlecock so you can play on the hours you have rented. 😊 Also, there's queuing every afternoon till night every weekend as per my friend living there close by. Just don't know the court fee if you'll be on queuing. 😊 Overall experience: Satisfied! 👍

Nice place to play badminton. The regulars are very friendly. Although the courts are with tara rubber, some of them are not level.
Bung Tiaoqui — Google review
Thank you Playground for standing the test of time. When badminton game reached its popularity in 2004 then waned through the years... and many badminton courts/gym began closing: PG here in Almanza remains operating and didnt even increased their rates until just recently. This has been the home badminton court of BPO offices in Alabang/Las Pinas and the game venue for metropolitan and various tournaments. They have 8 courts, wide pathways and seats, and most of all great ventilation. We do hope they improve soon on the water supply in their shower rooms though. They also have free parking space. This is the home of WWGB Academy and the United Colors of Badminton/BadPeeps/ABC. 🏸🤩

SM Southmall

Mentioned on
Shopping mall
SM Southmall is a lively retail destination that houses prestigious retail chains, specialty stores, dining options and an entertainment center. The bustling shopping complex features renowned brand-name department stores and boutiques offering a wide range of merchandise to cater to various preferences. In addition to the shopping experience, visitors can indulge in delicious food at the mall's eateries or catch a movie at one of the cinema screens available on-site.
This is a mall which has a lot to offer. There is a variety of clothing stores as well as restaurants to choose from. It has an arcade, a karaoke hub, an Imax theater, a mini-ferris wheel, a train which goes around the mall, a bowling alley, a billiard hall, etc. I just can't give this a perfect score because some restroom cubicles have bidets but they were just put there for decoration and not working at all. The airconditioning is just right, I would say about 25 degrees. I think it's awesome that the salons are at the lower ground floor, not the usual SM setup where they are located at the top.
Trixie Dauz — Google review
Good place for kids and family and friends to shop, have fun and a lot of food options too. 👍☺️
Jomar Nobleza — Google review
The mall is very busy but the mall is clean and very big. Easily located and easy to travel. Bus, jeepney, car are the mode of transport. Hardly takes 20-30 pesos through busses and jeepney. Lot of parking slot is available.

Southmall is the 7th largest SM Supermall in the Philippines.  Opened in 1995. The second SM Supermall to open an ice skating rink after SM Megamall. Known for its center atrium which is used for events like concerts, presentations, and product launches. While shopping is the main feature of the mall, it also offers world class dining and entertainment experience. Food court makeover also amuse me with it's superb good ambiance. Indoor and outdoor parking with minimal fee of 30php for 4 wheels fix fee.

The feeling is worth nostalgic bringing the past 20yrs were I used to spend my time strolling this place. It is an upgrade scale were it maintained numerous brands of necessities. Tho parking is not free, SC & ♿, should have at least the same accommodation from SM Molino, just saying.
Merwyn Gloria — Google review
Lots of parking. Government services wing is consolidated in one area. Spacious and not as crowded as most SM malls.
Booie M — Google review
This is the mall we loved to go to. We always had a lot of fun. It's easy to find stores that we like esp Blue Magic, Papelmerroti etc. and it has a lot of parking space☺️
Jorlyn Furo — Google review
A 4 flr. mall where you can dine, shop, have fun and stroll. Not that big as I expected since its SM, but you can definitely find the things you cannot find in other stores. The mall itself was clean but the comfort rooms must be cleaned and freshen more as it was used by many. Also, by the way, open parking fee here is only at 30 pesos and I was shocked to know of it. 😅

I happened to be a guest in one of SM condo and had to use the Southmall parking. My Overnight parking experiences are the worst ever. Very expensive. Very manual. Too many inefficient employees. From security guards to parking attendants, all of them don't know anything. Too many security guards whose purpose is just to be in uniform & talk on their walkie takie. The majority of them are so bored that they only focus on picking their noses & faces. They don't know the policy of overnight parking. So, each security guard comes up with their own procedures. They moved so slow. They took my personal information...from the OR, CR, driver's license, phone number, signature, reason for overnight parking, my payment, and many more to add on the list. They made me fill up releases and waivers and made me make a statement like I'm some kind of a prisoner. One security guard told me to go inside the mall to customer service to fill a  waiver when the mall is still close. I needed to go to work and they want me to wait for customer service to open? The other security told me he had a waiver. What kind of system is this? They give me irrational instructions and want me to do the run around. All my private informations were manually written to a dilapidated log book, with so many loose papers that could fly away if wind decide to take a blow. Log books that are passed to many hands and are tossed anywhere. All my private info so carelessly handled and open for everyone to steal. A total negligence and disobedience on the so-called Data Privacy Act. The whole process could take 20 to 30 minutes just to provide me a receipt and let me out of the parking lot. Some people are okay with this manual, archaic, corrupt system. But this kind of treatment is basically a humiliation to any paying customer. They treat you like someone stupid and an offender. They robbed me of my money, my time, and most importantly, my private information. I won't be surprised if this system is happening in the majority of SM malls. I'm glad they are not the only malls that exist.

Upscale mall with a good selection of massage, facial, and nail care facilities at the bottom level of the mall. The electronics selection is very well organized at the third level. The cinema includes some American movies as well as other international films. SM mall does a good job of including holiday decorations.
