Nature & Parks
Rizal Park is a sprawling complex of gardens, lawns and monuments in Manila, Philippines that honors Dr. Jose Rizal, the nation's national hero. The park features Chinese and Japanese Gardens as well as the National Museum of the Filipino People, among other attractions. It has been a popular tourist spot since its inception in 1912.
I love the dancing fountain! The place is nice and clean, though not much of social distancing was observed, but not one area was crowded. Nice place to hangout with friends and family. Though some parks like the Japanese park is still closed.

It was a very nice and spacious park. The breeze coming from Manila bay keeps your mood cool even in a hot sunny day. At night, the dancing fountain entertains the visitors. A lot of historical attractions and monuments can be found and take photos here. This park is both relaxing and informative It is perfect for educational field trip, family bondings, and soul searching.

This is a very memorial palace for the history of the Philippines. A very must visit place for every Filipino. Since it is my first time visiting here I am already amazed with the view. Very historic place and it didn't fail to emphasize the history of the Philippines which is the essence of having a historical park. In weekdays we can really enjoy the place since there are only few people walking around, but on weekends I think there will be more people. I love the availability of alcohols in every corner which are important to maintain health protocols. The place is well guarded and it is nice to see post guard standing besides the monument. The park is clean and well maintained, you can also grab some foods in the stores located outside the park. You have a flexible budget you can hire authorized photographer in the area, they are very friendly and capture nice photo of you. Please be reminded that you should keep off the grass and careful not to damage any sculptures. I hope you will visit the place and support our local historic sites, vendors and business enterprise. If you are concerned if there is any restroom, I don't know but I think there is, you can just ask the guard or other tourists.

A large clean park in the centre of the city which offers a great location to escape the bustle and noise of the city. There’s plenty of seating throughout and lots of things to admire, from the main monument to the Chinese garden and market stalls. Covid restrictions mean you can only enter / exit through designated gates, with the need to have your temperature checked, but it’s no hassle and certainly a place I’d recommend wandering through on a visit to the city.
Steve Bintley — Google review
A very beautiful park. With some lovely views and stunning fountain. It was very enjoyable to walk around. There are some food stands close by Rizal monument and some beautiful side parks. Great place to have a small picnic with friends and/or family. Please clean up after yourself. Also there are horse and carriage rides to other places like Manila beach. Take your time when you are at the park and enjoy the view.

Good place to unwind when life gets busy. We went here during the night to watch the dancing fountain. Some of the lights by the water were busted, nevertheless still spectacular. Seating by the fountain is very limited, so we sat by the grass. They advise that visitors use cloth as picnic blanket. There are vendors that sells/rents them ranging from 50 to 70 pesos should you forget to bring one. There are regulated food stalls around the park, but expect premium price since they are situated in a tourist destination. There are a lot of peddlers, especially flowers who are extra when they see you as a couple. The park is generally clean. Thanks to the frequent patrolling trash pickers. There are few trash bins around if you need. There is no fee to enter the park. Visiting the themed gardens however will incur a minimal fee. Parking with car is easy, with a standard fee of 50php for 8 hours.

Fun lively place to spend time with your loved ones, the dancing fountain at night was a treat. So colorful. So many people doing their fitness routines and families just chilling everywhere. Must see attraction.

still an amazing view...reminiscing your childhood, best place to breathe fresh air. Safety protocols are still practicing. Highly recommended for family to get their little bit of dose of history of our beloved national hero, Jose P. Rizal

One of the country's historical place in the city. Beautiful sculptures, gardens, and a nice sight for families' or friends' picnic and bonding. Though lots of people went here and it's in the city, it's a serene and calm place to be. Aside from this, there's a lovely musical dancing fountain everyone can enjoy to watch.

A beautiful space dedicated to the Philippines' national hero, Jose Rizal. As a Filipino, I felt compelled to come learn and pay my respects to Tito Juan, a man who sacrificed everything for the freedom of his countryman and the love of the land his blood comes from. There is his monument and the space where he was executed, both places serve as reflective points. Then there are other parts like the dancing fountain, Chinese and Japanese gardens, and a LACMA light pole installation. It makes it nice for people come to to and enjoy the space and I'm grateful they don't interfere with the area which honors Tito Juan. For Filipinos, it's a must come. For everyone, please enjoy all this space has to offer!

Beautiful public park. It is also the largest public park in the whole metropolis. It is the burial site of one of the nation's most famous heroes, Dr. Jose Rizal. It is an open space with lots of trees and green areas with some features such as the largest relief map of the Philippines, national museums, library, gardens, monuments, fountains, statues, etc. The "kilometer zero" marker is also found here.

What a beautiful park! There are lots of cool statues and gardens with tons of historical information. Visit and you won't be disappointed!

In the evening, they host a captivating fountain show, providing a fantastic experience. The place is bustling with tourists and residents, making it a delightful spot to bring friends and family, especially during the evening. Additionally, photographers are available, offering printed photos for just 50 pesos.

Nice area to stroll, away from traffic. Eat lunch. Ideal for families. Plenty of seating areas with some shade. Theme of park is independence and freedom fighters. Music played throughout park via speakers
Claire Tyrrell — Google review
I really wanted to go at night to see the lights/music shoe at the fountain but unfortunately we finished this area earlier in the day and it wasn’t worth going back just for that. It looks neat from what I have seen though. The park itself is nice and spacious so therefore relaxing.
RnV Marty — Google review
Large park with lots of activities and monuments acknowleding the many national heroes. A great location for people to socialise and connect. We went during the day, but I would say attending at night would be more spectacular. There was music, but without the fountain activity, and food stalls to eat and drink. The Japanese area has many spaces for people to rest and enjoy the space. No entrance fee, just security screening.

The National Museum of the Philippines is a vast and comprehensive museum with collections of Filipino fine art, archaeology, botany, natural history & more. The museum is conveniently located in Manila and houses various galleries such as the Spoliarium which is home to Juan Luna's 1884 gold winning painting, The Oil Painting. In addition to its permanent exhibits, the museum also operates various museums throughout the Philippines including the National Museum of Natural History which is set to open later this year.
One of the best places to go when in Manila. I love how cultural and highly educational this place is. Every turn is so picturesque and beautiful. I visited the Museum of Anthropology to have several insights on our ancestors and their way of living during their era. I was simply amazed of how organized the showrooms are and that every room will always leave an impression to visit again soon. I learned a lot from this trip and a definite way to enjoy the weekends with family especially kids to get them well-oriented of how rich the Philippine History is. This place will allow us to explore all branches of learning giving respect to our culture and values that will truly make us proud of our heritage as time progress throughout our way of living. I highly recommend that you must visit the National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Natural History, National Planetarium, National Museum of Anthropology. One day will not be enough to visit these places but it is possible when you start early until they close. The best time to visit is during the weekdays to avoid any type of crowd if applicable. Make sure not to forget bringing your camera or phones so you can take a piece of history with you when you go home. It's been a while since I visited the museums but would like to share my piece of adventures before the pandemic.

I enjoyed my visit here. There is no entrance fee. Big bags need to be surrendered to the baggage counter. Not a lot of people when I went on a Saturday morning. I was mesmerized by the art and it was honestly relaxing and inspiring. Great place to visit and would definitely go back. Hopefully they have some audio guided tours in thr future.

They're free so there's no hassle in buying the tickets, the security is also nice, if you guys bring big bags (like backpacks), the staffs will asked to store the bags in the entrance area of the museum (small bags is allowed). They're housing many beautiful art works that indeed pleasing to the eye. Recommended you guys to visit this museum while visiting Manila.

I really enjoyed and appreciated this museum. It is large in terms of space but not overbearing in terms of content. I still can’t believe it’s free. Thank you Philippines for that. The current exhibit regarding Magellan’s voyage, I found fascinating, well done, and worth the visit. The museum collection beyond that was also very well done and maintained. I recommend visiting this place.

This is a very interesting museum, specially for those interested in the impact of the european colonization in Philippines. It's amazing that the country promotes the national art at 0 entry fee. I give 4* because yelling crowds destroyed the mood. Lots of security around, but only worried about the bottled water I carried for my pregnant partner instead of for those who were hanging out in there like if they were in an outdoor park. Loved the artists selection, highly recommended!

We severely underestimated the number of hours we will spend in the place. I thought my friends and I could check everything out in 4 hours but we ended up spending 8 hours of our time there! Beautiful paintings and sculptures. I kept coming back to the Spolarium. My only complaint is the eye searing block colors of the rooms in the 1st floor and better lighting. Some parts of the place are so dimly lit, you can barely see the strokes of the paintings. The place is free to visit but I wish there was a donation box or a tip box so we can help in the maintenance of the place.

A beautiful and majestic place. Perfect for date and family bonding. All the historic paintings, centuries statues, crafts, arts, heritages, history lies in this museum, I can describe it the history of the Philippines from pre-colonization and to contemporary. Such a treasure and must be protected at all cost. Aside from that all the staff are friendly and accommodating, we really enjoyed it, such an unforgettable experience and we learned a lot. ❤️

Hands down, one of the best destinations in Manila, and it's free! I was blown away not only by the huge collection of art from the country's master artists, but also by how well-maintained the facility was. It can properly compete with other renowned museums in Asia, at the very least. Right as we entered, we were greeted by Juan Luna's world-renowned "Spoliarium", which was such a sight to behold. The museum has four floors filled with paintings, sculptures, and other piece of art from artists from different eras and art styles. It takes a whole day to fully and properly take in the all sights the museum has to offer (we spent almost 4 hours in the museum but only managed to explore 2 floors). Visiting National Museum of Fine Arts is a great activity that promises to provide a visual treat and make you get in touch with the Philippines' rich history. Very much recommended.

It's a wonderful museum where you get to see artworks of such great Filipino artists as Luna and Hidalgo and much more. The entrance is free, even for foreign tourists (remember to bring your passport). What a nice gesture to make these works accessible to all at no cost, no matter what nationality! Thank you.

The Philippines National Museum is an absolute must-visit! This cultural treasure trove offers a captivating journey through the nation's rich history and diverse heritage. From ancient artifacts to contemporary art, the exhibits are thoughtfully curated, and the museum's architecture itself is a sight to behold. An enlightening and enriching experience that should not be missed.

Truly a National Treasure!!! Everyone should visit this museum!!! Be immersed in the rich history and culture of a proud nation and there’s no excuse because thanks to a generous grant, admission is free. The collections are truly world class, wonderfully curated and housed in a building patterned after old US congress architecture. I’m truly proud of this place. !!! May I recommend adding a cafeteria in the patio grounds. (Very common in major museums) People may want to take a break, eat and talk about their museum experience with their friends and a cafeteria would be the perfect complement to a museum visit.

I would definitely call this one a hidden gem! This museum surprised me with the amount of beautiful original artworks! Entrance is free, all you need is one valid ID to enter. I wish i would have dedicated more time to see it.. 2 hours were not enough.. I would recommend 5 or 6 if you like to really explore each and every artwork. And maybe 3 or 4 hours if you take a faster look. A thing that made me a little sad, is that the artworks don't look like they are being well taken care of.. some are ripped, color less, dirty and so on.. really a shame.. Also I could not enter with a pencil and notebook witch was a little odd🤔 Here are some of my favorite paintings:

Such a great museum! Free admissions, the workers are definitely approachable. For the first time I visited a museum (in my lifetime), it was really a great experience! The highlight of it was the "Spoliarium" by Juan Luna. The artifacts, preserved paintings, sculptures were also displayed and each information was posted and explained well.

Free entrance which caught me by surprise.  It displays work of arts by the most famous national artists. It has 4 floors dedicated to all art genres. From sacred art to modernism, sculptures, paints, foto-oleo, you name it. If you have a back pack you will need to leave it at the security desk ,free of charges.
ana tavares — Google review
We were not expected by the queue but everyone moved in an orderly and prompt manner. Was really impressed by that because there were no designated lines for that. The museum is free, you use need a valid photo ID per party. Also, if your bags are too big, you will have to place them at a bag deposit in exchange for a card. The place is very huge, with multiple floors. The reason why we came was to see works by VICENTE S. MANANSALA. We would have walked for a longer period but the female toilets were closed for maintenance except for one, so we didn’t stay for long.
Jennifer Yeo — Google review
That was an amazing experience. I spent hours going through the art collection of different eras of the Philippines history. The place is well organized and admissions was free. There was a waiting line outside, but it moved quickly and I was in in a few minutes.

Wonderful museum. The National museum definitely presents the best exhibits out of the other museums in the area. I particularly enjoyed the Guillermo Tolentino exhibit. His sculpturing is unmatched in Filipino art. The building itself feels a bit run-down on the interior side, but the quality of the exhibits makes up for that. The free entry also makes this a must-visit in Manila.

The Fort Santiago is a 16th century military defense fortress located in Intramuros, Manila and it is one of the most important historical landmarks in the Philippines. The fort played an important role in the national hero Dr. Jose Rizal's imprisonment and eventual execution. The fort also houses the Rizal Shrine, which features various exhibits related to Rizal's life and work.
Fort Santiago is a very famous tourist spot in Manila City. The place is significant due to its historical value. It was an old Spanish fortress built to guard and protect the old city of Manila from invaders. It was also used as arms storage and a sort of barracks. Today, some of its ruins were restored or reinforced to allow guest and visitors a chance to see and appreciate the colonial architecture and history during the Spanish occupation period. The place is very spacious and there is sufficient area for walking, picnics, and biking. There is also a museum inside in honor of the Philippines' national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. It is a must see for anyone interested in history, the culture of the Philippines, or just to go out and bond with family and friends. It is very accessible by private or public vehicles. There is an entrance fee of about 75 pesos.

Such a nice place to visit in Metro Manila, a place full of Philippine history. The last days of Rizal's life were preserved beautifully; a place of learning and reflection of the Philippines great history and culture. Fort Santiago in Manila is a captivating historical site, and visiting in the evenings offers a unique and enchanting experience. The interplay of lights brings the fortress to life, casting a warm glow on its storied walls and pathways. Amidst the ancient structures, the illuminated flower trees add a touch of natural beauty, creating a tranquil atmosphere that perfectly complements the rich history that Fort Santiago holds. The evening visit provides a delightful blend of history and aesthetics, making it a memorable exploration of this significant cultural landmark.

I enjoyed our visit to this historic place in Manila. Great to see Jose Rizal’s (National Hero of the Philippines) shrine and museum. Entry fee to Fort Santiago is 75PHP which is around 1.35 USD. They accept cash only. It’s a huge compound to walk around. At the back of the complex, you can go and check out beautiful river view. Most of place doesn’t have a shade and it was hot, please bring a hat. :)

An amazing and peaceful place inside the city walls. Almost across the cathedral it has paid entrance.  Be advice that they don't accept card or foreign money. Don't be fooled by the guard at the entrance.  He offered to pay the entrance with local money but charged us 4 times more in dollars than the real cost The entrance is around 1,5 dollars per person. Inside you will visit several buildings dating the 18th century, such as the iconic gate of the Fort, and areas dedicated to the national hero Jose Rizal. What impressed me the most were the dungeons.  They were used back in the time of the Spanish and Japanese occupation. Most of the city buildings were destroyed by the end of World War II and inumerous civilians died in the dungeons. You will have amazing views of the old and new parts of the city.  There are small cafés and gift shops (not expensive) inside and also bathrooms. Totally worth the visit.

It's like a walk in the past though there are a few spaces that they already closed, like tunnels. But Fort Santiago is really nice, a few museums inside. There are benches you can idly sit by to adore the place. Though bring water with you. Wear mask and keep safe.

We had our first visit and we really enjoyed it. It is the best place to visit if you are a history buff. It offers historical insights and you can see so many really cool things. Give yourself at least about 2 hours to be able to see everything. Visiting Fort Santiago is like going through the different phases of Philippine history. Just enjoy walking around with friends or family and not necessary to book a tour.

One of the sites that you shouldn’t miss when you’re visiting Intramorus. The place gives a unique experience of history. Several sections were closed that day, maybe because of the rain. There are areas that are slippery too.

This was a really fun experience for me, due to the fact I have been to similar forts such as Castillo San Marcos located at St.Augustine FL. This was just another amazing piece of history that I was so lucky to visit, and even has deep roots of Philippine history with their national hero Rizal. While this place is a pact with such history, a lot of dark history. Which is mentioned, but not to full detail, in which some of that history is pretty deep. Which I get it, some of the pictures alone, especially those in the dungeon are rough to see. But it's incredible, and to me one of the must sees if you are coming out to visit. Yes there is a small price to pay to see it, but it’s definitely worth it.
Curtis Shelton — Google review
Bit disappointed by our visit there. I can understand Filipinos being captivated by the history, but for me it just didn’t live up to expectations as there wasn’t a lot of interesting things to see. Didn’t expect to see modern girders holding up a number of walls. In fact the highlights for me were watching some Tik Tok videos, the bridge over the water and a few attractive trees. Probably better to visit in the evening and get more atmosphere with the lighting. 75 pesos entry fee and an optional tour for 1000 pesos. A discount can be negotiated when the fort is not busy.

One of the tourists attractions in Manila that located in Intramuros area. Totally love the architecture of this fort. Fort Santiago basically full of historical buildings in one area, there's many remains old buildings that really beautiful and maybe usually used as photography object. I visited during evening till nighttime (since going there on hot sunny afternoon is basically burning yourself alive). Totally love the experience and definitely recommend this place to be visited while in Manila.

Visited Fort Santiago on a Saturday. It costs 75 pesos per person; 50 pesos for senior citizens. Not a long wait, however, you may get approached by vendors in line offering a guide service. So, if you require one at the last minute, that’s available. The complex is large and you can wander at your leisure. Lots of spaces to explore and lots of history to learn - the constant struggle for independence, destruction of the city and atrocities. Located right in the city centre and next to the river. You can get something to eat and drink by the entrance and a map from the information centre. Value for money.

Last year I went here twice! Last July and last December. Last July was pure photo shooting. Last December, there was a fund raising and we got a tour guide explaining and telling stories about things around Fort Santiago. Aside from the nice view and spacious venue, there are things that are preserved well that tell stories. Also, the guards wore the old type of guardia civil uniforms, they are refreshing to see!🤩 There is so much stories to tell. I hope Fort Santiago will be one of the tool in learning our History, students will also enjoy while learning.🤘

Great historical Manila landmark The grounds and fort open at 9 am. Allow 1- 2 hours Entrance fee is a reasonable 70 pesos , 50 for seniors and disabled. Grounds are expansive and situated along the river. There are plentiful signs and placards 🪧 with give brief explanations of the various sights on the Fort Santiago grounds. Grounds are well cared for by attendants. The fort complex is located in central Manila and is about a 45 minute taxi ride from the airport which should run about 300 to 500 pesos ( depending on your negotiation skills ). Restrooms are limited. Handicap ♿️ doable but there are several places where stairs are optional. There are pedicabs and horse carriages available for hire. Guides are available. Parking can be a challenge. Final take....recommended

It was good, paying for the entrance though wasn't too good at all. I understand that they need funds for the upkeep of the place, but I think the government should be handling that stuff. It can be crowded during Sundays (we went there on Sunday), but it was still manageable. The place was overall good and beautiful. I defo recommend it for people who have an interest in Philippine history.

Fort Santiago is the unmissable part of intramuros, It's a good experience to walk among the ruins while learning about the local history, especially of Jose Rizal. The park is well made and has a few stores and cafés. I hope they continue to improve and do their best to preserve and restore as much as they can. PS: Waiting time might be long during busy days, so I advise you to buy tickets in advance if you can.

Great and humbling place to be. It is amazing to to see what humans are capable of. They but an amazing structure with limited tools and a ton of hard work. There is also a lot tragity that took place here that is important to never forget. That is one of the things thst keeps us in check with our own ideas belifes of what right and wrong is. Without these events being keep alive in our memory we could be tempted to make similar dicisions. Even in our small lives we could be tempted to abandon our selves or others to runin not fully m understanding the consequrnces of our actions. We do not have tobtake the life of another person to leave a lasting imprent in their lives. I pray that that empression may always be a good one.

Very large and historical place to visit. Entry is cheap and quick. The site is very large so there is no crowding whatsoever. There is a lot of great history about Jose Rizal and Manila in the fort. After you enter there are a few shops selling souvenirs and refreshments that are comfortable and fairly priced. There is an interesting Lego exhibit of the old churches and buildings that used to be in Manila that were most destroyed by the Japanese when they invaded. There is also access to the prison where many people died and a mass grave so be respectful when in those areas. (There is signage to remind you) I spent about three hours here and loved every inch of it.

Well maintained place and affordable entrance fee since there's a student discount. The infrastructures a well preserved and some of them are structurally enhanced for safety since all of them are decades old. Lots to learn historically.

As local traveler who is an enjoyer of anything related to Philippine history (or at least the places i visit), i am rating this 5 out of 5. Although i would want to cone visit here again soon, by myself, so theres no pressure of me getting to know each area and reading things that happened on that exact area years ago. I was with friends and family during my visit and i honestly enjoyed it still. But it was more on strolling rather than truly understanding and learning new (old) things. You pay 75 for entry (regular) and 50 for students/seniors. The fort has restaurants/snack shops inside. My cousin says they have good mango shake. You can play at the grounds, have picnics and just bond with your loved ones. Theres also guys who plays acapella in front. Its your choice if you wanna give cash or not. Guided tours are also available, it says you can book via klook in advance. Around the back part of the fort, the pasig river view is waiting for you

If I hadn't visited Intramuros, my trip to Manila wouldn't have been complete. Every place has a unique history that you will genuinely respect and value. The architectural structures inside this walled city remained constant over time and were kept in captivating condition. Undoubtedly an antique charm.

Worth visiting! So many historical sites to visit and structures to check on. It was drizzling when I visited, but it did not stop me to tour around this walled city. The traffic is concerning, the LGU should find a way to control it as it negatively impacts tourism.

Really amazing pace to visit if you’re in Manila. This fort holds so much of the Filipino culture and their life, their stories and struggles during the war. There are plenty of museums to visit, parks to relax in and food to buy. There is a must see UNESCO cathedral that you can enter. Dress respectfully, nothing above the knee, no sleeveless or crop tops. Don’t chance it, because The church staff will deny you entry. The roads have the Spanish architecture and influence. The walls and along the fort oversee the golf course and surrounding roads. The history and architecture of this hidden area is just marvelous. Intramuros makes for a good and fulfilling day trip. Apart from the old day charm, there are plenty of rooftop restobars and lounges to enjoy.

Has to be the most interesting area of Manila if you're a tourist. Easter is very busy but that adds to the atmosphere. There isn't much else open during Easter so we spent a lot of time here exploring. We walked from Chinatown, it's not too far.

Fort Santiago, a 16th century military defense structure, stands witness to the valor and heroism of the Filipino through the centuries. Adaptive use of this famous historical landmark makes certain areas ideal for open air theater, picnics, and promenades. The Intramuros Visitors' Center gives an overview of various attractions in the Walled City.

One of the most historic places in Manila. I went here at night and was not disappointed with the views. If you want to avoid the crowds and the heat, it's best to come here in the afternoon or evening. I also recommend the tour guides in Intramuros especially Kuya Allen. He interacts well with the guests and especially his photography skills.

A beautiful site to visit, we came right after mass so it was not busy. Very beautiful biblical artifacts , and they have a great gift store as well, all the proceeds go towards the church so it was a win win. Just be ready to go through the security check points before you enter. Had a great time, and would definitely recommend this site to visit.

The church was amazing. The architecture takes you right back to the Spanish heritage and the Spanish influence that took place in the Philippines. The surrounding area is filled with rich history from the Spanish regime to WW2. I highly recommend visiting this site.

We rented bamboo bicycles and had so much fun exploring the fort and the church. We only had a half day, but it would be nice to have a full day so you could take your time.

My family booked a tour here, so much history, and so sad that this country's own history is not taught in its schools. The battle of Manila was devastating to the Filipino people.... and nearly no one knows how brutal the locals were treated. Beautiful architecture, amazing history. Go here. Book a tour. Share the history.

Great historical location in the heart of Manila. It is a must if you come to Manila. Traffic can be discouraging but when you get here you will be rewarded. Lovely coffee shop and restaurant to enjoy a good meal after the visit! I really liked the cathedral I felt like in a South American square. Great atmosphere!

Historical landmark with many places to see: churches, museums, classic Spanish buildings from 19th century. Place is restively safe, you can see guards on some streets. There is usually a lot of tourists. It’s difficult to order taxi (Grab) in Intramurous, although cars are allowed there, so I assume you have to go outside the area to get one. You will find here a lot of vintage cafeterias and restaurants.

I grew up in manila but it was my first time here 😝 my friends and i had so much fun! we rented bikes 100/person/1hr and it was soooo worth it!! the museum got knocked down from wwii and was rebuiled in 1981, all furniture was donated by old elite families in MNL.

Visiting Intramuros is like stepping back in time, a reminder of the rich and diverse history of the Philippines. It’s a serene place, where the cobblestone streets and the remnants of Spanish architecture bring stories of the past to life. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for a peaceful place to wander, Intramuros offers a unique and enriching experience. The area is well-maintained, and there’s a palpable sense of pride and respect for the heritage it represents. The local eateries offer a taste of traditional Filipino cuisine, adding flavor to the journey through our history. A day spent here is not just enlightening but also a proud reminder of our vibrant culture and past.

Step back in time to the old walled city - a city within a city. Established during Spanish colonial times 1571 till the American (1898) and Japanese occupation of World War II. Upon arriving you will be doing a lot of walking best to avoid the rainy (June - Oct) and hot seasons (April, May) November to February is probably the best weather to be site seeing. Lots to see like historical buildings, churches, plazas, Manila Cathedral, Rizal shrine, museums and the fortifications of Fort Santiago.

Intramuros is the name of the heart of Manila's old city. It was established back in the 16th century and almost complete destroyed  by the Japanese at the end of World War II. It is inside the city walls and there you will find the most important city's buildings such as the cathedral, San Agustin Church and convent, Fort Santiago and its Gate. Not to be missed.

Great walled city of Manila. Took a guided walking tour - awesome way to see the historical sites and learn about this great city. So much history it’s amazing to see it all. Afternoon at 4pm tour started and went until after dark. Finished with Kalesa ride around perimeter back to car. Great time!

An absolute must for any tourist visiting Manila. The old walled city gives a real insight into the local history with some prominent older buildings and landmarks. Take a long walk along the top of the wall which has some great views.

A must visit when you are here in manila. It was great to learn about the Spanish reign from this walled off city and there are a lot of interesting historical places inside the intramuros to visit. Hired an electric scooter to go around the place. Thought it was ok for the price paid as the driver acts as a guide too. The rude took us to places where we might not reach on foot. After that we explored the places of our own interest in detail. Entry to most places are free. Some places charge a very nominal fee only. The place is walkable and there are a lot of places to eat and rest . Spent almost the whole day here and I think there are cultural shows in the night time. Saw a lot of street vendors in the alleys which might be active in the night.

The Manila Ocean Park is an oceanarium and family-friendly destination with a number of attractions including a musical fountain, an aquarium, and live shows. The park has become one of the Philippines' leading attractions for families with children, and its variety of activities make it an ideal spot for all ages.
Went with my wife today Jan 24 2023. We both really enjoyed the tour. The variety and size of attractions was cool. We saw fish, sharks, penguins, snakes, spiders, and lizards. Feeding the penguins was a bit expensive but it was still nice for the photo. ❤️
Brian VanHarten — Google review
The overall experience was great. Me and my family enjoyed a lot. Attractions - 8/10 - The air-condition was great on all of the attractions I've been on. The issue I noticed are: some parts are empty or under maintenance; long queue; QR code scanning is a bit of hassle. Signs and Directions - 7/10 - They can improve more on this part. There a lot of confusing arrows and one might get lost. Food - 7/10 - I only liked few of the food stalls they have inside. I hope they offer more. Hope they have water fountains as well since visitors might get exhausted from walking. Parking 9/10 - We went on a Sunday, we were expecting a crowded parking space but we were able to find one quickly.

Online ticketing was easy and entry at the ocean park was easy with pre-booked tickets. The whole place is hot as if it doesn't have AC, most of the attractions are not what I remember when I visit a few years ago, it's so bad now. The sea lion and bird shows were interesting and entertaining but short and the audio was really bad, you could barely understand the host. The place is huge, there's so much to improve in the place hoping the management will consider maintaining and enlivening the place to make the price worthy. I think it's time to have a major cleanup to have its glory back. Overall, it's only worth it if you have small kids who will not nitpick and instead will really get excited with the animals.

The Oceanarium, located inside Manila Ocean Park, is home to 14,000 fishes which are around 277 species, all found in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. It is one of the world's best public aquariums. The Oceanarium is a stunning walkthrough of the ocean featuring seven sections and containing 3,000 cubic meters of seawater. At the center of a 55-meter journey is the main attraction - a 220° curved walkway tunnel with a spectacular underwater view of amazing sea creatures swimming overhead. The water source for the Oceanarium is filtered water from Manila Bay. A special process is done to ensure that the seawater is suitable for marine life. It has an educational activity area, unique function rooms for special events and bi-level shark and stingray viewing facilities.

Place is well maintained. My kids had fun. Lots of animals. Very very kid friendly. Lots of fish! Lots of food options inside also. We spent a good 3-4 hours here.

Buying tickets in advance saves you a little. You can only go to one attraction once. They will also measure your kids and two feet and above, regardless of age, will be charged. I guess they should also consider age like two or one and below should automatically be free of charge. I brought my infant daughter who appeared tall and they want her to stand up so she can be measured. Can't blame them as most people who go there are families with small children. Such a bad way to earn more money. Well, they need the money as the place needs more attractions and you have to temper your expectations. Still, a good place to visit with your family.

3rd time visiting. What happened to this place? Looks poorly maintained now and it was so hot in some areas. Corals are in a poor condition, they were actually painted, crazy! Glass is full of scratches, making it hard to see. It wasn’t this bad the last time I visited. Only thing I liked about this is the jellyfish show thingamajig. Not a lot of food choices. But I’m sure kids will enjoy it.

The place is clean and well maintained. I do hope all the animals here are well and taken care of. Many things to explore on this trip. Also the sea lions moved me. They are so cute and witty.

The only place of its kind in the metro, Manila Ocean Park is a treat for kids and kids at heart. Unfortunately, about half of the attractions are closed when we visited, most probably because of the pandemic impact. The theme park has a potential to be the top go-to place for fun and enjoyment. Sadly, there are parts that aren’t well maintained. For the shows, I wish they don’t let guests enter the venue once the show starts as it causes distractions. Regardless, I’m amazed by their set of animals. I hope the management takes great care of them.

For us, Manila Ocean Park is a great place for families. To bond, to take photos and to enjoy seeing aquatic animals, they also have repltiles, spiders and snakes. When we went here last December 2021, there are lot of people but the safety protocol were followed within the area, also, December is discount month :). I really enjoyed the fishes small and large.

Underwhelming I had an online deal which is ₽650 and was very excited but left with disappointment. I visited on a public holiday and there were A LOT OF KIDS, that's not the problem, it's the ventilation. The aquariums are decent, but after that, I got splashed with cold water since all my excitement got drained down by the underwhelming attractions. The penguin attraction is cute but the glass is foggy with scratches from inside and outside. Sad. Was really hoping for this one to be good, but it just seems that the whole place needs a revamp and better maintenance.
Envy Zafe — Google review
The experience during our visit was okay. So many people coming in and out. I had fun watching the bird and sealion show. However, there are some areas that were under maintenance like the shark diving. For the Penguin area, the line to get up close to them was too long. Also there's a room that supposed to be like a snow or winter area but there's no real snow or real ice sculptures - all fake and plastic. All in all, the experience was okay. So many areas that need to be improve on.

Honest Review: Animals - 10/5, we really enjoyed the bird and sea lion show. Please take care of these lovely animals. Other attractions - 2/5, it’s like an abandoned park. The aquariums weren’t maintained very well. The other attraction with the superman is like very old. The ticketing svck, 0/5 they asked to pay 750 ticket for a baby who slept most of the time because the height is 2 feet, regardless of age — what kind of management do they have. I could see some foreigners visiting this park, it was a huge disappointment. I feel bad for the animals and the caretakers. They deserve better.
Jomar Bernasol — Google review
All kinds of different pretty fish with funny faces! And some other friends as well. :) As a Serbian, I've never seen most of these on video, much less in-person. I was simply amazed with the beauty of life at every step of the way! Even though it was fairly crowded, with a lot of kids running around and pressing their faces on the aquariums, I didn't feel like it was overwhelming. I could get a good view of everything without a problem. People were courteous and let each other have some alone time for photos and videos, or just for the viewing enjoyment. Waiting lines for buying tickets and entering different areas were minimal. As for non-attraction facilities, there's a food court and food stalls scattered around. There's also a toy shop. Don't worry, these aren't in areas where our water buddies are. ;) It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to get through the park if you want to take a good look at everything there is to see. So go, have a nice stroll, absorb the ocean's bounty, and return as a richer person!
Nikola Vukosavljević — Google review
The aquariums and the shows were the best part of visiting Manila Ocean Park. There was a wide collection of fish that seemed to be healthy. All the aquariums were clean and appeared to be properly maintained. Albeit some of them seem cramp, as I saw a few of the bigger fish swimming in fast circles around the perimeter of the aquarium. There was an owl in the Creepy Crawlies section that had a too small enclosure. It made me and my companion sad to see it in those conditions. The reptiles and arachnids also had small terariums. We sped through Creepy Crawlies because the animals looked sad in their too small spaces. They look weird, sure, but they're still animals! The show was entertaining. The birds only did 1-3 tricks each, but if you sit in the proper spot (leftside of the bleachers if facing the stage) then you can get the experience of the birds flying close to you. The sea lions were wonderfully trained, showing off dancing, swimming and retrieving balls during their part of the show. The trainers were also pretty good. I've been wanting to visit Manila Ocean Park since moving to Manila, but I was deterred by the price, the distance and the crowds. I would say it was nice as a novel experience. During my visit, it was Holy Week. There was a lot of people there. Mostly, the guest behaved orderly so it wasn't an issue. If there were rowdy people though, it would have potentially been problematic because most of the rooms didn't have an usher, a guard or a staff member to intervene.

A good place to visit. Fun and educational. We're really excited to see marine life, specially the sharks. The whole park seems gloomy though, and there's definitely a lot of things to improve. I do hope they're taking good care of the animals.

I'm normally a food reviewer but because the experience was nice, here I am. There is a Bird and sea lion show every 12:30pm which I truly enjoyed. The kid in me was in awe in seeing the Birds of prey fly over us as part of the show. Also, the performance of the sea lions were astonishing. They have a variety of animals inside as well including snakes, spiders, lizards, turtles, fishes, and penguins. Though the sightings were nice, the restaurants inside were expensive for its quality. Better to eat before you go in. Took us half a day to finish the park

Bit crowded when we came, but my little brother's had a great time seeing lots of animals that they usually see on screen. The highlights of our visit was the bird and sea lion performance. Best to take kids there if you want to give them some time off in gadgets.

I really loved the park, there is lots to see and even an aquarium where you can put your hand in the water to let the fish touch you. Unfortunately I missed the sea lion and bird show due to rain, but I'm not complaining about that The pictures that get taken by the employees are of affordable price for everyone and of high resolution. Besides that you get a printed version and can get a digital version via a site, which is awesome. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to see and do everything, but I just wish there was a little bit more to see. They earned the 4 stars without a doubt .

My son's Birthday wish is to be here, since we had great stories and photos we told him about this place on our previous visits. To our surprise, there a lot of attractions that is close, open attractions are accessible though it's obvious that there are a lot of ongoing repairs. It might be better to close the site for a while and finished renovating. This should be our son's memorable birthday turned to disappointment.

Manila Ocean Park is a great mid-sized Aquarium. It has many exhibits of wonderful sea life, a beautiful rain forest, and a penguin exhibit where you can have you picture taken inside their habitat room. In addition, you can view a beautiful jelly fish exhibit, and a "Creepy Crawlies" exhibit with snakes, spiders, lizards and more. To finish the day, we enjoyed an outside show with trained exotic birds and sea lions. It was an all-around fantastic day.

Visited Manila Ocean Park nearing its closing time, so really glad that we have this ocean park by ourselves. But there's some disappointment, the staff near big aquarium holding camera (I think their job is to get a picture of us, so we can buy it later at the exit gate) is totally disrespectful and disturbing our moment by intentionally standing right in the middle (so they're totally in the picture that we snap). Hopefully they could trained their staffs to be better. Other than 2 individuals, other staffs is really nice and let us enjoy our time there. Their collections is very little compared to another aquarium in another ASEAN countries that I've visited. However, it's still a pleasant experience visiting Manila Ocean Park.

Housed in a charming heritage building, it offers a romantic setting with antique decor and lush surroundings, making it popular for tourists and wedding venues. Had a memorable dinner with my friends. We were serenaded by the three uncles while eating their famous paella. We had beef with it and to balance the tasty paella and beef, we added cheese croquet. For dessert, we satisfied our sweet tooth frozen brazo de mercedes which is actually a slice of brazo de mercedes on top of cheesecake, and its infamous sampaguita ice cream. First taste of the ice cream and i was brought back a memory of my childhood in the province with my cousins, with us stringing together sampaguita flowers for Mama Mary. Another taste brought memories of elementary graduation. It also felt like i just got out from the church😅. I want to commend their staff who are all all polite and accommodating.

The place is incredible. It is situated in the middle of Intramuros and you can really feel the old Manila vibes with the wooden flooring, windows, and structure of the place. The food, awesome! Their paella was to die for! We really loved the Filipino-Spanish cuisine. The wait was long but when the food arrived, it was all worth it! Their dinner roll, which we took home two packs, was the best dinner roll we've eaten! And their chocolate cake, which we ordered for our child companion, was delicious; we all took a bite! In terms of the service, it's impeccable! It is our first time eating here and the staff accommodated us despite the fact we didn't have any reservation. They were friendly and fun throughout the service. During our check-out, they forgot to punch-in the discount in our bill so they gave us a free slice of cake. We truly appreciated the gesture because their chocolate cake is so good.

Illustrado is located in the historic old quarter of Intramuros Manila. We sat outside under a tented area. We ordered the Kambing (goat) kaldereta, kare kare, paella illustrado, and rellenong bangus (stuffed milkfish). Unfortunately none of the dishes had much flavor to them. My 3 stars indicates they were ok, not bad, nothing special or memorable. The paella was especially disappointing since it seems to be the signature dish. The amount of seafood was lacking, no clams/mussels or squid, less than a handful of bay scallops, and 2 prawns. Take the disappointment from the paella and just apply to the other dishes. Expectations were higher but not unrealistic. Not worth it and would not recommend.

Let me tell you about this hidden gem I found in Manila - Ilustrado Restaurant. Tucked away inside the historic walled city of Intramuros, it felt like stepping back in time. The restaurant itself is a converted old Spanish house, and the whole place oozes with charm. Antique furniture, muted lighting, and those high ceilings - it had this sophisticated, old-world vibe that instantly relaxed me. But Ilustrado isn't just about the atmosphere. The food here is what truly impressed me. They offer a mix of Spanish and Filipino cuisine, and I opted for a selection of tapas to try a bit of everything. Every dish was bursting with flavor - fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. I could tell they used high-quality ingredients, and the portions were generous. The service was another highlight. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they were happy to explain the different dishes and offer recommendations. They even helped me navigate the menu a bit, considering I wasn't familiar with all the Filipino specialties. Overall, Ilustrado was a fantastic dining experience. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion or just a romantic evening out. If you're looking for delicious food, impeccable service, and a unique historical setting, then look no further!

Probably the best restaurant in Intramuros and definitely a contender for top restaurants in Manila. Absolutely delicious Filipino and Spanish food, everything we had was good, paella, eggplant, and fried chicken dishes were stand-outs for me. Drinks were good as well, definitely recommend the mango daiquiri, they have a very wide range of cocktails which is always good. Service was great and atmosphere has a very old Manila vibe (seeing as it is in Intramuros) which was wonderful. For the taste and quality of the food, everything was fairly priced, I would 100% recommend this restaurant if you are around the area. They also have their own parking lot next to the restaurant which is great as Intramuros can be a hard place to find parking. Overall, this restaurant is amazing and definitely lives up to and deserves all of its many rewards. Would definitely recommend you try it if you can!

Had a great Friday night dinner at this place! Food is a bit pricey but the ambiance and the service more than make up for it. Dining staff is attentive and pleasant to talk to. The whole experience is personalized and they were nice enough to accommodate the flowers I ordered for my girlfriend when it came hours earlier than our reservation. Portions are good and very delicious! Selection is good so whether you're looking for Filipino, Spanish, or Western cuisine, they all have it here. Bagnet Sinigang and their Spanish chorizo is highly recommended. Ambiance is really noteworthy as the main dining area is quite small so it gives the sense of home dining. A three-man band also delighted diners including ourselves with some music as we enjoyed our meal.

This restaurant, located in the back of a beautiful courtyard, is a great way to eat fresh and tasty food in a delightful atmosphere. There is a small terrace and parking area within the courtyard, so it's quite practical.

I found this place several months ago when I was looking for a place for my mom's birthday. The ambiance and the food in the photos of their socmed were so convincing, so I made a reservation with them and got a response within the day. The ambiance was really nice, it feels like an old Filipino ancestral house. It gives me a feeling of dining at my late Lola's house. For the appetizers, we ordered the grilled squid salad and croquettas. The salad serving was surprisingly big and definitely flavorful. The croquettas have this melts in your mouth feeling. For the main dish, we ordered their signature paella, Illustrado paella and Bagnet paella, and the Kalderatang Kambing and Sinigang na Salmon, which i had no photo of as it was consumed immediately. The paellas are both good. I'm very particularly with the taste of paella, and these two hit all the right spots in my palette. The meat in kaldereta had the right amount of tenderness and is very flavorful. The sinigang, oh my God, the sinigang has the perfect kind of asim I long for in a sinigang. We also odered their cheese cake, and it has the right amount of sweetness and buttery taste in it. The servers were also very accommodating and even sang happy birthday for my mom. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back!

Illustrado continues to be the most romantic fine dining in central Old Manila. Beautifully located in Intramuros, they maintain a high degree of service and quality in their offerings. Spanish - Filipino, they prepare with the best ingredients and have highly trained, knowledgable and truly professional service staff, something of a rarity in Manila these days. For that truly special night, dinner at Illustrado followed by a romantic stroll in the old city can't be beat. The only drawback are the customers who would prefer to watch videos or loudly play games on their cell phones like they were in Jollibee, completly oblivious to the experience. Cafe Adriatico, located in Manila, was once a humble eatery for taxi drivers but has since become an iconic cafe. The owner transformed it into a welcoming space for everyone. It's situated on one of the busiest streets in the capital, making it perfect for people watching while enjoying local favorites like pancit palabok, suman sa lihiya, and ensaymada with tsokolate eh.
Staff is kind & accommodating. Food was great! 😊 we really enjoyed the cake & callos. Though sometimes the music would get too loud. Will definitely return 🤍

Unfortunately, most of the beef selections were unavailable during out visit. This made selecting food from the menu a bit annoying when told that they were unavailable. But thank God the food was great. The Chicken a la Kiev I ordered was very juicy and filled with flavor.

Spanish omelet (325₱) was with coffee. A little pricey, but worth it. The atmosphere of the shop is also very good. While I was eating, people who seemed to be TV crews came into the store with equipment. It must have been an interview with a famous store.

Had their filipino breakfast. Garlic rice was good, the meat was alright. However the fish cooked in vinegar was amazing. Tender meat with a sour note but it wasn't overwhelming.

Great food and comfortable place. Cozy inside and outside and packed with history. Took a while for food to get served though. When it got to us, we were so hungry we forgot to take photos. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

One of the iconic restaurants in Malate that still serves great food and provide amazing ambiance. Their food is really tasty, especially Lola Ising's adobo rice, and the serving is quite big. The ambiance is cozy and laid-back. The staffs are accommodating and attentive. The cakes are also perfect to cap off the meal.

Old but still gold is how I would describe this place. As soon as you enter, you will immediately notice the dark ambiance, old furniture and old decorations. I ordered Farmer's breakfast complete with tocino, eggs, rice, coffee and turon as dessert. I'm glad to say that they have maintained both the quality and taste since the last time I ate here 4 years ago. The tocino was perfectly charred and sweet. It's glazed which I prefer over the saucy type other restaurants offer. Sadly the portion was far from the picture on the menu. The turon or banana fritters was good but not Savemore good. By the way, the parking slots are very limited in front of the building and there is a 50 peso fee that goes to the city.

I would just say - overrated. Atmosphere is the best part of it . Not good choice for vegetarians. Mostly sandwich type of food. Meat lover would like it I guess. Pricey… for the type and quality of the food offered. Interesting place to visit.

My go to place whenever I’m in the area. Lovin’ the ambience of the place — especially night time. Rider friendly location too! Staffs are accommodating. Heavy meal or a quick coffee stop? They got you covered 🤭 Tip: If you like taking photos, checkout their 2nd floor and sit near the window — best viewed around 6-8pm 🤭

Adriatico is one of the OG establishments in Remedios Circle, so it commands a certain amount of attention in the area. The food is a bit on the pricier side (especially if you're Filipino and this is something you can cook at home for way less), but it is decent. It is the atmosphere I think that makes it the best place to sit back and relax. It has that classic homey feel to it that compels you to just take it slow and enjoy your breakfast with good company.

The Harbor View Restaurant has been in business since 1985 and provides an overlook of the Manila Bay skyline. The menu features both western and Asian dishes, but the seafood is the star of the show with offerings such as baby lobster sa taba ng talangka, lechon Kawali, and steamed live lapu-lapu. Prices for a meal range from PHP 700 for two.
Feeling the sea and the best food from Manila. Since long time didn't eat like this kind place. At Manila everywhere is the big building 🏢,but at here u will really fell u still alive. Nice food and also the price is not high. Will back again. Go and fell the food life.

The place is good except for the way going inside the restaurant since its messy and the car park has kids roaming around asking for food. The food was definitely great but the service time is so bad. I even cancelled my ordered soft drink due to so delayed service. We even settled our bill at the cashier directly. Serving size and taste is great so value for your money especially if you dine with a group. Except for the serving time.

Really good, my driver said the best place in Manila, and I took a chance - best choice of the day 🤩 Not really fine dining, but the taste is really there, and the atmosphere setting at the pier makes it worth it! Had the house white wine, some salmon-scrimp pasta (noddles, but pasta) and some garlic scrimps on the side 🤯 amazing.

Really nice place to watch the sunset over Manila Bay. Broad array of seafood cooked on Filipino and Asian style. There is some more simple dishes though (it's not all super exotic). Service was good although sometimes a little bit casual. The entrance is messy and the waiting area has a sewage odour (that thankfully does not continue to the tables area). Price of food is high-ish, but not fine dining high.
Mathew Sams — Google review
The food here was great. The lobster was soo tasty and doused in butter and garlic. The spicy prawns were a good size and also delicioso. The cucumber lemonade was fresh squeezed and tasted natural. The view was amazing and the atmosphere was very relaxing and quiet. The only downside was the service was a little slow and lacking but im not sure if that is normal for this part of the world. Anyways, i would gladly come back just for the food, even if it does take a little longer than average to get service

If catching the sunset in Manila Bay is on your must-do list, Harbour View is a gem you shouldn't overlook. Imagine savoring fried scampi with tangy vinegar dipping sauce, indulging in squid ink delights, all while sipping on a few cold beers and witnessing the magical descent of the sun. It's an experience that truly stands out. What's particularly impressive is that no matter where you choose to sit, you're treated to an amazing view of the sunset. The staff at Harbour View is not only helpful but also incredibly attentive, making sure your time there is delightful. Seafood is fresh out of the sea and you can literally taste it. Surprisingly, the prices are reasonable, adding to the overall satisfaction. While the surrounding area might not be the most secure, taking a cab to get here is a wise choice. Just stay alert when stepping out, and you'll be able to focus on enjoying the stunning sunset and treats that Harbour View has to offer. This is one of my best dinners I had so far in Manila.

The food was tasty, but the service had its ups and downs. It seemed extra attentive to foreigners, yet less so for Filipino customers. Ordering was a bit of a challenge, as we had to signal four different staff members. In contrast, foreigners only needed to flag down one person for quick assistance. It'd be great if the service could be more consistent for everyone.

Food was soooo good! Baked scallops, garlic prawns and pancit…YUM Also the coconut water is to die for and love that it comes in the coconut. Unfortunately the service lets them down. It was hard to get attention of the waiters and the wait time for food and drinks was quite long. But of course the food made up for it. Just go and be patient and enjoy. Recommend going at sunset, the venue is stunning and right on the water! It was tricky finding the place as we were walking around, more signage would be helpful

We had the kangkong with pork and a sizzling roast pork with rice. The two dishes were quite decent in person size and sufficient for two people. Quite tasty but a little on the salty side. We also had the baked scallops for starters - the scallops varied quite a bit in size. This small dish was rather $$$. The mango calahmasi slushie and calahmasi (aka lime) slushie were very refreshing. It was lovely sitting along the long pier side of the restaurant over looking the city lights in the evening. I did feel mossies trying to get me though. Next time it will be long pants or insect repellent for me. We didn't stay as long as we might have liked because of that. The bill came close to 2000php for 2.

Cafe Ilang-Ilang, located in Manila, is a top buffet restaurant that reopened last September. It offers an all-you-can-eat menu featuring a wide variety of dishes including bread, pasta, sushi, dumplings, and traditional Filipino cuisine. The buffet spread includes international cuisines such as Korean and Mediterranean, as well as station choices like grills and shawarmas.
I had my breakfast buffet I checked in alone as a bday gift for myself ha ha and their breakfast buffet was great it's like they serve lunch or dinner buffet. Lots of food choices. Taste great.

Maybe the best and quality buffet in the Metro. The food are all excellent and flavourful. The steak and grills are really great (for a buffet). The only reason it's not 5/5 is because the selection for beverage are not many.

I always look forward to waking up to hotel breakfast buffets. However my experience here last week was unlike any other. Each of the food stations now has a glass wall in front preventing people from getting food on their own. The only way to get food is to point what you like to eat, give your plate to the server then wait for your plate back with the food. To me, this is probably the most disruptive safety measure I have ever experienced. This took away the fun and excitement of trying new dishes. I'm just so thankful that Manila Hotel still serves one of the best varieties of food including my local favorites like danggit, tocino, longganisa apart from the usual bacon, cereals, dimsum, pastries, salads, cold cuts and others. They also have halal station with yummy indian breads. I'm also glad that all their staff remain well trained and we'll mannered in guiding people of the new safety measure.

There was an assortment of food to choose from the breakfast buffet. For a breakfast buffet..the selection was vast. There were Chinese, Italian, Filipino, American sections...bread, fruit, cheeses, pastries. However, while choosing in the cheese section, I saw a small cockroach crawling on one of the cheese plates. I informed the female waitress / cook (she was wearing a white hat) about it. She took the plate out. No apologies... nor did I see her inform anyone. No disinfection was done nor the other plates taken out. I have a background in Health and safety...so I was really disturbed. So I called for the manager. The manager apologized and then proceeded to instruct them to disinfect. This incident made me lose my appetite...so I didn't eat much after that. Drank my coffee, finished some food I got and left.

We were there Thursday. It was expensive, but worth it. Kinda difficult to gauge the value since overall price was high per head. All I can say that they were consistent with the variety, and the cleanliness of the resto. Things to note tho: - Prime rib is originally served rare, you'd need to ask the chef to further grill it if yiu want it medium- well done. - freshness of sashimi varies from time to time, but this time it was good - made to cook shrimps were okay, but was kinda mushy this time. But was huge and cooked well. Freshness issue I suppose. - must make room for desserts. They have a lot from halo halo to 10 flavors of ice cream to pastries to crepes and so on. - steaks are generally heavy to the stomach, but there are a lot of varieties and sauces in the 'churrasco' section. - make sure to have your post meal coffee and tea to help with fullness. Note 1: check for promos like bdo cards. You can get up to 35% off. In our case, it was dinner priced at 3500++ it went down to 2300++ Note 2: minor rant on the servers because it's hard to quantify on how much food they should scoop for you. Be loud and clear when asking for a dish. And yes, it's not self serve yet, still need to ask them to serve you portions per dish per section. Overall 5/5 with discount price, ambience, and consistency of the buffet.

Came here for the Filipino highlight on Ilonggo dishes of Chef Tibong. His dishes were actually a mix of Filipino-Spanish. Everything tasted great especially the Lechon. From the Chinese section, I particularly enjoyed the Peking Duck, which is my super favorite. Ran out initially and had to wait for it but it was worth it! First time to try the curacha crab. It was tender and tasty. The shrimp was really fresh and baked mussels cheesy. The dessert station had a variety of items. Had the La Paz Batchoy Ice Cream, which surprisingly tasted good. Had the native chocolate drink which tasted like what my Lolo used to make. Of course, I enjoyed the bread, cheeses and cold cuts which are my favorite food. Washed down all the food with apple juice and hot tea. Couldn’t try the other dishes anymore. Was so full! On the service side, had to follow up on requests a few times but overall, quite a good dining experience.

The breakfast buffet was a good experience as you get to see all kinds of Filipinos here to dine, in addition to hotel guests. The best part was the service in this iconic hotel. You will feel the Filipino charm and hospitality here. The quality of the buffet food was more like typical average cafeteria buffet at an average hotel. There are American, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, and Indian/halal sections in addition to bakery, fruits, deli sections. The Filipino section was the best. But I would rather go to Aristocrat for tastier Filipino breakfast. We tried all of them and nothing tasted bad. But nothing tasted that good either. There are Italian and Japanese sections, but they are available only for lunch and not for breakfast. I gave two stars for the food as I needed to factor in the price. Nevertheless, it was a good experience.

My favorite part of this buffet experience is the cochinillo. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender and flavorful. The liver sauce makes it even better. The food selection is wide (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Italian, Steaks, Seafoods, desserts etc. but not overwhelming. It is impressive that each dish is of quality and is worth trying. Another pro is that food is served plated and garnished which makes dining more convenient and less messy. I was hesitant at first since it is less popular than other hotel buffets but surprisingly, I had the best time. I also commend the staff for being attentive and accommodating to everyone.

Breakfast buffet was included when we booked our room at The Manila Hotel. Outside guests are welcome to experience their breakfast buffet worth 2000 pesos per person. They offers dishes from different cuisine like Korean, halal, Filipino etc. I been in different hotel in the Philippines that offers filipino breakfast food. I expect too much about their Filipino breakfast food. I didn’t try anything but just Filipino breakfast. I got champorado, fried dried fish, fried rice, sunny side up egg, beef tapa and hot coffee. About the taste, nothing speciaL that makes me eat them one more time. Although I tried their ensaymada ( not a fan).

Locavore is a laid-back and relaxed restaurant that offers a fresh and unique take on Filipino cuisine. Their restaurant favorites include Kare kare wings, oyster sisig, and sizzling sinigang. Locavore has been around for only 2014 but already has garnered positive reviews for its bold flavors courtesy of the owners and chef's signature French techniques.
Tried the Octadobo which is new on the menu. It was good but I thought that the fish skin chicharon would remain crispy even after mixing it together with the paella. But overall, it was worth the try. We also had the our go-to food which is the Mac's Boneless Fried Chicken. For our drinks, we had Choc-nut Shake and Buko Pandan Pinipig. Both tastes good.

In general 3.5/5 good food, high price, slow service speed. location 4/5 in three contral mall, very easy to find and see, also able to access other shop like watsons/ the market place near around. decoration 3/5 no comment flavor 4.5/5 very good flavor food with cute looks. not enjoy the pork sisig very much but for the rest they are good, delicious. price 2.5/5 too expensive in my experice, for example the lechon belly, it asks for 650 PHP, but only 5 little piece of pork, each only enough for 2 bites. check my photo you will know how much are they, usually it only sells around 200 PHP in the normal local restaurant. service 2.5/5 there are a lot people in the restaurant, so i understand the waiters are going to be very busy. and yes they are very busy, they don't even have time to take a glimps of our order, everybody there is waiting for the serving, in this situation why not hiring more people to make the waiting shorter ? to have the proper service water instead of asking need us to asking and waiting.

I usually enjoy the food here at Locavore. Their bestselling Sizzling Sinigang, Oyster Sisig & Sugpo Mayonesa are my personal favorites. For this afternoon visit, I ordered the Chori Burger. It was a disappointing sandwich. The bun was too densed. The consistency is similar to the ‘putok’ bread you get from your local bakery. The chori patty is sauced very well and quite yummy but it was too densed as well. So it’s like eating a brick of a sandwich. Probably best to just stick with the bestsellers when I come back.

Locavore in Makati! One of the tasteful dining places along the streets of Valero (inside Three Central building). Although this place is usually full-packed at lunch time, it is still good to try here once in a while to get an acquainted comfort food or meal. This is our first time having dinner here because we usually eat brunch. The place has tables outside so we can bring our dog. The atmosphere is friendly and quiet. We tried their Beef Pares, and it was delicious. The meat was tender enough, and the sauce was superb. We did take home the remaining sauce because it was perfect. My wife had a freshly-squeezed lemonade, and it was refreshing. The serving is enough for two people, so I guess the price was a bang for the buck for a resto like this. They also have cocktails and beers, so it is a great place to celebrate with your office mates and friends. Of course, it is perfect for family gatherings as well.

Visited here on a weekend, and it was easy to get seats. Granted it was a late lunch but it was great to get good seats on a weekend. The crew was quick to assist us. We had the sizzling sinigang which was as good as we remembered from the Kapitolyo branch, and was served very quickly. We didn't have to wait very long for the food. The server was also very attentive and refilled our water without being asked. Overall we had a great time and left happy and full.
