Beach usually brings back wonderful memories for me, however these days it's crowded, hard to get parking, and families are gathering here fearlessly late at night. Lengthier, the largest and most hygienic beach, has lots of resting areas, good restaurants nearby, a lot of local foods, public toilets, etc. This makes Calicut beach far better than any other. It's hard to find clean beaches nowadays. I'm not sure how long it will remain like this, but now it is. Families, kids, friends, everyone can spend time here. I suggest going after 5 p.m., as during this time the shops and street vendors are active. There is not much space for parking if it's very crowded. There are a few pay-and-park facilities nearby, but I'm not sure if we have to prebook them. I recommend everyone visit here if they ever visit Calicut.

There is a model of pslv rocket in front of main building. The main building contain planetarium, a marine world model, astronomical museum, a 3d theatre, small aquarium and lot more. Planetarium Calicut is the best tourist attraction of the city especially for students. 3 D Show is not perfect. Clean and neat some machines are not working properly. Staffs are professional. Need to add more facilities for children. Even we enjoyed it.

I visited the Regional Science Centre And Planetarium in Calicut recently, and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. It's clear that they are not maintaining the facilities well. The exhibits were outdated and in poor condition. It's a shame because the potential for learning and exploration is there, but the lack of upkeep really detracted from the experience. Apart from this The Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Calicut—one of the most visited places in Calicut and one of the most active science centres under the umbrella of the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Government of India —is home to more than 15,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits designed to spark scientific inquiry and creativity. This place presents a plethora of facilities to delight all people of all ages by its diversity of themes. Facilities PLANETARIUM Planetariums are hemispherical domed theatres that project images of the starry sky and countless objects we find in our universe, creating educational experiences that teach astronomy and related sciences. Planetariums educate people about the objects in the sky, their relative movements by simulating the night sky of a particular place at a particular time. Calicut Planetarium and the programmes it runs gives you a unique experience. 3D THEATRE When we visit the 3D Science Show, we will experience an out of the world immersive experience in which the near realistic visuals come out from the static screen right in front of our eyes.

A wonderful place for school and college students to come face to face with scientific facts and its progress. The exhibits are well documented and explained in both Malayalam and English. The 3D show was OK OK, but the show in the Planetarium was wonderful. The commentary was quite informative and entertaining. There were a lot of school children, as is absolutely necessary in such institutions, and their comments and wonder were quite a revelation. A nice place to spend a couple of quality hours.

A great place for kids to come for a field trip, you can learn some science stuff here and the planetarium show is also a must visit program It's a visual treat about the stars, solar system and orbit It was a good experience, and there is a 3D show, I found it a dissapointment, all the stuffs are old, nothing like the progress The changes according to the era should also be brought here, and some improvements should be made in terms of new technology .

Very very poor maintenance. Planetarium not functioning. Entry ticket 60per head waste. I don't think why central government is functioning this much worst. Equipments are not working condition. Only few little bit working. Government or concern ministry should consider this one. Mirroring effects are all nice. Keeping photo's and Flex is not much useful. For that children can see it from video or mobile. There they simply wasting space, time and money.. Calm place. good parking and rest room.

Popular and fun. Some things need maintenance but overall, it was educational. Good place to take kids to. The planetarium was a bit dull compared to the other planetariums I have seen. And the 3D show (about 3 flies going to moon with Neil Armstrong & group) was okay though.

A place which is for kids and school students. Maximum portion of this center is closed. But you can spend 2 hours with your kids and enjoy the science projects and game. Note: - Please don't take tour of Planetarium, one of the waste of money. Most of the science games which are in park is not working. Galaxy room, mirror room, sea and water room are awesome.

Best archaeological museum I have visited yet. Informative placcards in each section. Sections are very well structured. Staff is receptive and is ready to explain something I have not witnessed at any other similar museum. Do go around the garden here its just an awesome place to sit unwind and relax.

The museum has been renovated and has got a facelift. Artefacts are well kept and the building in which the museum is housed itself is pre-independence. The items held are mostly stone carvings from various parts of Kerala during the time it was under various Kings. Along with the museum is an Art Gallery and Krushna Menon Museum. Due to renovation works going on the art gallery wasn't fully functional. The park outside the museum is a real good place to spend the evening with children

Well knowledged staff members help us and answers politely for all our doubts. Out side the museum, tables are placed under the trees which are good for relaxing. From here around 15kms there is Kappadu beach, where Vasco da Gama landed for the first time.

Had to wait in queue for almost 45 mins before we finally got the chance to get a table. The waiting area is hot and overcrowded and there is no crowd management. When you finally get in though, it is like going from purgatory to heaven. Inside the AC seating area it is cool and not at all crowded. You can order at your own pace and eat peacefully. The food is amazing and tasty. Almost worth the wait.

Oh man. This was really good. Heartfelt and tummy full food. Biriyani felt like it was out of this world. The best was appam with fish mango curry. It was really good-gasmic.

Food is absolute yum... fell in love with Kerala cuisine after trying out food from here. But the AC seating has very limited capacity and with the temperature on the rise, AC seating would be a good respite. Wait time is high given the food quality and taste. Place is affordable and they charge around Rs.20 extra for the AC seating per dish basis. Dancing tea and fish mango curry were the showstopper for me

My first visit to Kozhikode as well as Paragon Restaurant. Truly enjoyed the experience, the food was yummy 😋 at reasonable price. The place is too famous and too crowded, makes you wait sometime for a table, but it’s worth a wait. Try Kerala authentic cuisine which are special and tastier. Not from this part of India 🇮🇳 so the experience was completely new too me and enjoyed the food as well.

Mango Fish Curry was good but it looked like the fish in it was separately cooked. Combination with Appam was nice. Pompfret Taawa Fry was mild in spice levels but it was good. We missed the biriyani as we were late. Lemon Soda was just fresh and good. The coconut pudding was too good here.

Dining at Paragon is an experience in itself. We went here twice in two days while in Calicut. Both days, we had to wait for around an hour before getting a table, and it was worth the wait ! There isn't anything at all one won't like here - the chicken biryani is smoking delicious with the famous dates pickle, the mango prawn and fish curry are the best I have ever had, and go so well with appam or Kerala parotta, their coconut pudding rounds up the meal with an amazing dessert option as well. The crab masala and other fish dishes are so so well prepared - truly deserves to be one of the most iconic restaurants in the world We would definitely plan more Calicut trips just for the Paragon experience !

If you want to have scrumptious food, just step in to Paragon. Always likes to have food from paragon, as it is a years of trust that they will definitely serve quality and yummy foods. My favourites are chicken fried rice, biriyani, chicken lollipop, soups and desserts etc...

It's recommended by the lodge owner where we stayed (Eshwari lodge). It's good but have to wait in the queue a lot. Good ambience, food quality and taste is good but the service is too bad. We waited almost 1 hr to get our food. We went for dinner around 10.45 pm and finished at 12.50 pm but still the restaurant was full.

Bring a vegetarian I was initially skeptical about eating here. But was pleasantly surprised with a decent variety of options in veg food. All the traditional Kerala dishes were awesome. Baked Desserts are not that good tho. Place is a bit small n dingy & service was slow but v. good. The complimentary salad with mango, carrot n chilli was just too good. I recently dined at Paragon Restaurant in Calicut and sadly, the experience fell short of expectations. The Chicken Biriyani and mutton Biriyani were not up to par; the chicken pieces lacked flavor, and the mutton Biriyani consisted mostly of bones with minimal meat. On top of this, the long wait of 30 minutes to get in made it a frustrating and time-consuming visit. I would rate my overall experience 3 out of 10, considering my experiences in other Kerala restaurants. I would not recommend Paragon Calicut, especially for families visiting from foreign countries to explore food in Kerala. Attached are pictures highlighting the disappointing quality.

The food is absolutely delicious - I had the prawn tava fry, mussels fry, and mutton biryani, and all three dishes were incredible. Each bite was finger-licking good! The staff at Paragon is friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. It almost feels like you're eating at home. Be prepared for a wait though! This place is popular, and there's a good chance you'll need to wait in line for at least 20 minutes. But trust me, the food is worth the wait!

The food was really really tasty. Loved every bit of it. Waited about one hour to enjoy it because of the rush. The crowd coming to the restaurant is justifiable, as all the variety of food is delicious.

It was quite underwhelming considering the reviews and lores I heard about this place. Ordered a Lagoon Chicken biriyani and Fish mangoo curry. The chicken biriyani was such an underperformer with its taste and texture. Fish mango curry was decent and rich in flavours. I entered there at 12.15 PM , and it wasn't very crowded at that time. Would love to try beef and mutton dishes some other time.

I need not tell this but they are one of the top restaurants in the world. Frankly I didn't know that. I just happened to eat at this restaurant without any reference from anyone. In short, their food is one of the best I have ever tasted. The seafood platter had crabs, fishes, prawns, squids each one prepared in a unique flavour and taste. Tender coconut pudding was awesome and yummy. Though it is just a restaurant, they have maintained their standards as that of a star hotel. Anyone visiting Calicut must try this restaurant. Waiting Time - We did not wait much, it was less than 5 minutes wait time for us.... Seating - They have arranged good seating for all of us.... Ambience- Good, Quiet, Subdued dark. You concentrate only on your food and people and you don't see other things...Mosquitoes were the only issue as they keep on biting you now and then...Toilet was below average... Food - Tasty piping hot Mutton biriyani, chicken biriyani was served. Masala and flavour used in basmati biriyani was adding uniqueness to the dish. Pieces were tender, succulent and well cooked. Onion Raitha was without onions. Mint cooler was good. Vermicelli payasam, we asked was top notch... Overall, a good dine in experience....

Preserving heritage with an exotic fare of snacks and classical 1980s construction, the restaurant is one of the oldest in the area. Had a wonderful array of snacks like steamed rice cakes, banana dumplings, steamed eggs, mussels pakoda and the show stopper was egg pathiri. Finally topped up with Suleimani chai and Cashew cups...!

The key to get the best of all the snacks served hot is to walk in after 3:30 or 4. You can see the section getting stocked up and you can go ahead pointing on the delicacies you want to be served. Killer snacks, and during ramzan time the menu just gets extravagant. Close to the beach. Parking is very tricky. Sometimes you will have to wait to get seated in weekends. The ambience and service is very good. The chairs may not be too comfortable to sit for longer period to enjoy the meal.

This place is very famous in Calicut. The food here tasted fine, nothing worth repeating. The reason why I did not like the place is the cleanliness. It was very dirty inside and I did not visit again. Today while passing through the area I saw the hotel was under renovation. Maybe I will visit again to see how things are now.

Five years ago, i gave this place a 5 star rating! Can't believe the place has regressed so much. I was surprised to find no crowd on a Friday lunch time. But realized the reason after tasting the food. Had mutton biriyani(as suggested by the waiter), Beef roast , porotta, a chicken delicacy and prawns. Apart from prawns fry, which was ok, everything was a total let down. Hope the place regains its lost glory.

Good place to experience the kozhikodan snacks. Very neat and clean area. You can see the glimpse of the kitchen. You can try once if you like to try the kozhikodan vibavangal from a home food style. You dont feel like eating from a busy hotel.

I recently dined at this restaurant, unfortunately, I can't recommend it. The prices are high for what you get, and the taste is just ordinary..nothing like authentic taste 😔 ..Seafood dishes are particularly disappointing, with more onions and masala than actual fish or prawns. The service was also lacking, as we had to constantly ask for basic things like water. Overall, it's a pass for me. Plz check individual prices before u order. Especially snacks.

Zain’s hotel - popular snacks spot in calicut. They serve all varities of malabari snacks. I visited them post lunch so ordered their ela ada which is traditional kerala delicacy and chaiya. It tasted good and prices were affordable. I feel pity on myself for not trying their other dishes🥲 Do try them out if you’re looking for perfect high tea place.

This is probably one of the oldest restaurants in Kozhikode. We were pretty disappointed and let down by the taste of snacks. They do have a variety of snacks. 2 stars for the awesome tea and elanchi.

One of the very famous and popular restaurants in Calicut, it's a good spot for food lovers whether it's break fast, lunch, evening tea or dinner. Though Bombay is famous for Biriyani and many other dishes, I often go there for having evening tea and snacks. Their special tea is one of the best teas I have had from Calicut. They have wide varieties of tasty snacks and I have tried almost all their snacks at different times and their signature snack Elayada, Chemmeen Cake, Beef Egg Kabab and Pazham Nirachath, etc. are my favourites. This is a very crowded hotel near Calicut beach specially in the weekends and you'll have to park your vehicle finding a space anywhere near to this hotel.

Awesome food except for the biriyani which could have been better. I am rating it 1 star lower due to biriyani and willingness to serve snacks cold ( which are supposed to be hot . They do have a rack that can be heated to keep them warm ) . BDF was very good but quantity was a bit low. Chicken 65 was good I would have loved a bit more spice in it for sure . Tea was very good . Mutton cutlet and chatti pathiri were both very good but would have been better if they were at least kept warm. Mutton biriyani was very bland and the over usage of tomato in the rice reminds me of ambur style biriyani. But here the rice was mildly spiced and it doesn't go well with the tomatoes . And it was served cold 🙄. Service is very efficient. Plenty of space to accommodate a large number of guests. Both AC and non AC service halls are there . There is a free parking space near the restaurant for 4 wheelers. Overall a must visit restaurant

Today Visited this hotel second time, First time had their beef roast and Porotta and felt like normal and nothing WoW… but today tried some of their snacks items and it was really Yummy.. The real taste of (Kozhikodan Kadikal) Mutton Cutlet, and Beef Egg kabab, are the must try items… Loved it❤️.. More over the pricing also very reasonable..👍

I have heard about this restaurant way back . Its an old restaurant. I went there to have their biriyani . We had chicken and beef biriyani . Actually i was not much satisfied with the beef biriyani . The beef was not well cooked . Chicken biriyani was ok . The rice had good flavours overall and ok biriyani. For the biriyani we had sides as chammanthi, salaad and dates pickle which nice but the chammanthi was little bit too salty . One of us also had chappathi and veg kuruma which was actually good 👍🏾. The waiter and the staffs where good 👌🏾. They have a variety of snacks options which I will try next time🙌🏾. Overall I was not satisfied with the hype I had in my mind .

We went for snacks. I guess almost all the snack items were over and we had to try Pazham nirachathu, BDF, Samosa and kadukka fry (or was it Squid fry?). It was good, didn’t find any extra ordinary though! May be I didn’t know their signature item!

We came here for tea and snacks in the evening. And it was good. Particularly "pazham nirachath." "Unnakaaya" was equally enjoyable. Kallumakaaya Nirachath wasn't all that great. Everything was reasonable in pricing.

One of the better places in Kozhikode to have biriyani. They are quite famous and most of the times, there is a queue outside before you can enter the premises. It can be quite intense inside and the layout is designed to accommodate maximum people. The staff are friendly, fast and efficient. The food has great flavour and makes you want to go back for more.

Over rated...mutton biriyani was good, chicken and beef ordinary... compared with other biriyani specialists around Calicut. Tried Kallummakkai onion rost, too spicy not able to feel real taste of Kallummakkai. Mint lemon compensate the hotness.

(Unfortunately my experience turned out bad as the meat was not well cooked) I had the below and would rate them as Alfarm biryani - 5/5 Beef Biriyani - 2/5 Grilled fish - 3/5 Prawns fry - 4/5 Icecream (tender coconut)— 5/5 ( as they are natural with no additional preservatives or chemicals.

First time got the opportunity to explore the legendary Biriyani from Rahmath hotel, Calicut . I must say it was awesome , totally a very different flavour unlike our Kannur and Thalassery biriyanis . I like the flavour . There are many variety of dishes available . We tried spring chicken fry and it was so yummy 😋😋. We went on Friday and they will start by 1.00pm on Friday . There was huge rush and parking area was around 500m far from the hotel . Overall good experience and enjoyed the food 👍👌🏼

Visited again and amazed to see the thoughtful ways of customer support. They have enabled a parking area in walkable distance -and we were about to walk to the restaurant, they told to wait for auto which they have.. Parking is free- they will collect deposit and return if we get the seal from the payment counter.

I visited Rahmat Hotel after hearing a lot about this hotel. Beef Biryani and Kaada fry are the most famous items here. But for me, I don't eat Beef Nd Kaada fry was not ready at 12 Noon. Me and my wife tried Chicken Biryani & Squid Biryani. I really appreciate the taste. Since it's a very old hotel so in terms of service they are good and very prompt as they have a lot of guys to deal with any crowd. Also, this restaurant is spread over 3 floors. Visit here and have their famous Beef Biryani & Kaada fry. Environment wise it's good but ambience wise I don't suggest this place.

The famous spot in Kozhikode for biryanis is also a great breakfast spot. The tea is a must have item after your food. Its simply superb. We tried Porotta and Beef Masala. Porotta was too good, crispy and flaky just like it should be. The Beef Masala was very good and tasted homely. Its normally quite busy for lunch but do visit them for their breakfast as well.

Just another overhyped restaurant in Calicut. I had been hearing such positive reviews about Rahmath Beef Biryani, so I decided to try it out. Yesterday, I finally got the chance to dine there. However, my experience was not as great as I expected. The restaurant was crowded, like many others in Calicut, but we managed to find a seat without much waiting. We tried the beef, chicken, and mutton biryanis. The beef biryani I ordered was average; it came with two beef pieces, one of which was very tough while the other was okay. The flavor and spices in the biryani were just average, lacking the rich taste I had hoped for. Overall, the restaurant did not live up to the hype created by the people of Calicut or food vloggers. Parking space is available, albeit a bit far from the restaurant. You need to deposit Rs. 100, which is refundable upon showing the bill. The rates are affordable, the ambience is average, and the service is good.

Ordered the classic beef biriyani. The rich blend of beef portions and masala was an amazing feeling. The way they treat their customers, how delicious the dishes are here , everything is just wow. Ambience could have been better. There are a lot of dishes available including a lot of seafood items.

Visited the legendary Rahmath hotel and it took me sometime to get a table for myself, busy as usual from what I heard and seen. I ordered a half portion of squid biriyani, which was the cheapest seafood biryani on the menu. The pickled onion salad that we get from here is something different than the usual buttermilk salad I am used to. Even the half portion was enough to fill my stomach and they gave a generous helping of the squid, I think I got more squid than the rice. Since this is my first experience with a seafood biryani, I think it will be hard to top this one.

Simple Biriyani which helps you savour the taste of the main ingredients (the well cooked beef and the spices) and not the unwanted masala. The red snapper tawa fry was more than sufficient for 3 people. Good vegetarian selection too. Remember to end your meal with the lemon mint cooler.

Topform has one of the best biriyani in Calicut. It is located in the heart of calicut town, opposite to KSRTC bus stand. The food is top class. We tried chicken biriyani and chicken kondattam. Chicken kondattam had a unique flavour. Has limited parking facility. Ac and non ac sections are also available. For lunch, try to reach early otherwise you may have to wait to get the table. Staff was also well behaved. However the prices are on higher side. One chicken biriyani is priced at 195 rs. Overall, a must try place if you are at Calicut.

They have one of the best biriyanis in town and the service is very quick. Prices are reasonable. There is parking space available.

It's a mess. Overpriced and overrated restaurant in the middle of Calicut city. Parking is a headache here. Recently I tried chicken biryani and it was too oily (or dalda). Don't go behind fame because at times quality gets compromised when quantity increases.
