Kozhikode

Kozhikode is a coastal city in the south Indian state of Kerala. It was a significant spice trade center and is close to Kappad Beach, where Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama landed in 1498. The central Kozhikode Beach, overlooked by an old lighthouse, is a popular spot for watching the sunset. Inland, tree-lined Mananchira Square, with its musical fountain, surrounds the massive Mananchira Tank, an artificial pond.

While the beach is nice, the lack of maintenance poses challenges, especially at noon. Urgent attention is needed from the corporation to provide essential facilities like chairs, sheds, and proper cleaning for visitors.

This is a dirty and crowded beach, almost black soil mixed with plastic pieces. But the sea and waves are fabulous. Do visit this beach if you happen to travel nearby.

Kozhikod Beach is Good beach and always busy in the evening because of street foods and refreshments. Beach usually brings back wonderful memories for me, however these days it's crowded, hard to get parking, and families are gathering here fearlessly late at night. Tea Snacks Kallumakkaya Original You’ll find Here .Pickles and sweet-and-sour crushed ice are well-known here, and the street food from the coastal area is excellent.

Additionally, witnessing stunning sunsets further enhances the experience, making it a delightful spot for both relaxation and occasional entertainment.

The best beach in Kerala. Lengthier, the largest and most hygienic beach, has lots of resting areas, good restaurants nearby, a lot of local foods, public toilets, etc. This makes Calicut beach far better than any other. It's hard to find clean beaches nowadays. I'm not sure how long it will remain like this, but now it is. Families, kids, friends, everyone can spend time here. I suggest going after 5 p.m., as during this time the shops and street vendors are active. There is not much space for parking if it's very crowded. There are a few pay-and-park facilities nearby, but I'm not sure if we have to prebook them. I recommend everyone visit here if they ever visit Calicut.

The beach is crowd free and generally clean. A huge arch like structure made of stones welcomes tourists, it is also home to some marvellously sculpted rocks India Kozhikode is not a famous tourist attraction, and there are very little attractions. Beach is there

It's something else to see the endless sea stretch out to the horizon. There are good amenities such as a Starbucks along the top. Nice place to relax.

One of the best beaches in Kerala. Heavy crowded place in the evening and it was still very clean. The ambience in the evening and night is unmatchable. The food and view is totally mesmerizing.
Abhin K — Google review
The beach is buzzing with life – from families enjoying picnics to kids building sandcastles. You can grab tasty local snacks from the stalls or take a peaceful stroll along the shoreline.
Sarath MK — Google review
Kozhikode Beach is really nice compared to other beaches in Kerala. It has a straight section of beach for public to relax and enjoy the evening. Cleaning is challenge but it is considered ok as per Kerala standards. Lack of sewage treatment and dumping untreated raw sewage to the sea is really disgusting. The staunch smell is unacceptable. Well, that is your God's own Kerala for you!

Kozhikode Beach, also known as Calicut Beach, is a picturesque destination along the Malabar Coast in Kerala, India. Kozhikode Beach is a serene and beautiful stretch of coastline that offers a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or to simply unwind and enjoy the breathtaking sunset views. The beach required more clean, making it ideal for picnics and sunbathing. This is a great place for kids. It is a centre for recreation and knowledge. There is a park for kids. Many stations are there where scientific laws are applied in to games. There is a model of pslv rocket in front of main building. The main building contain planetarium, a marine world model, astronomical museum, a 3d theatre, small aquarium and lot more. Highly recommended

Planetarium Calicut is the best tourist attraction of the city especially for students. 3 D Show is not perfect. Clean and neat some machines are not working properly. Staffs are professional. Need to add more facilities for children. Even we enjoyed it.
Saleem Ck — Google review
I visited the Regional Science Centre And Planetarium in Calicut recently, and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. It's clear that they are not maintaining the facilities well. The exhibits were outdated and in poor condition. It's a shame because the potential for learning and exploration is there, but the lack of upkeep really detracted from the experience. Apart from this The Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Calicut—one of the most visited places in Calicut and one of the most active science centres under the umbrella of the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Government of India —is home to more than 15,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits designed to spark scientific inquiry and creativity. This place presents a plethora of facilities to delight all people of all ages by its diversity of themes. Facilities PLANETARIUM Planetariums are hemispherical domed theatres that project images of the starry sky and countless objects we find in our universe, creating educational experiences that teach astronomy and related sciences. Planetariums educate people about the objects in the sky, their relative movements by simulating the night sky of a particular place at a particular time. Calicut Planetarium and the programmes it runs gives you a unique experience. 3D THEATRE When we visit the 3D Science Show, we will experience an out of the world immersive experience in which the near realistic visuals come out from the static screen right in front of our eyes.

A wonderful place for school and college students to come face to face with scientific facts and its progress. The exhibits are well documented and explained in both Malayalam and English. The 3D show was OK OK, but the show in the Planetarium was wonderful. The commentary was quite informative and entertaining. There were a lot of school children, as is absolutely necessary in such institutions, and their comments and wonder were quite a revelation. A nice place to spend a couple of quality hours.
Suresh Menon — Google review
A great place for kids to come for a field trip, you can learn some science stuff here and the planetarium show is also a must visit program It's a visual treat about the stars, solar system and orbit It was a good experience, and there is a 3D show, I found it a dissapointment, all the stuffs are old, nothing like the progress The changes according to the era should also be brought here, and some improvements should be made in terms of new technology .
RiYas AŁi — Google review
Very very poor maintenance. Planetarium not functioning. Entry ticket 60per head waste. I don't think why central government is functioning this much worst. Equipments are not working condition. Only few little bit working. Government or concern ministry should consider this one. Mirroring effects are all nice. Keeping photo's and Flex is not much useful. For that children can see it from video or mobile. There they simply wasting space, time and money.. Calm place. good parking and rest room.
6B01 AATHEESH — Google review
Popular and fun. Some things need maintenance but overall, it was educational. Good place to take kids to. The planetarium was a bit dull compared to the other planetariums I have seen. And the 3D show (about 3 flies going to moon with Neil Armstrong & group) was okay though.
hsihdbs sbcj tzksk — Google review
A place which is for kids and school students. Maximum portion of this center is closed. But you can spend 2 hours with your kids and enjoy the science projects and game. Note: - Please don't take tour of Planetarium, one of the waste of money. Most of the science games which are in park is not working. Galaxy room, mirror room, sea and water room are awesome.
tufail kutty — Google review
It will be an interesting place for school children and the adults who still keep that childish interest in science😃. Go with a friend who can enjoy the magic of prism, mirrors and miniatures of solar system, it will be a great experience. If you wish to attend the planetarium show, then better take ticket in advance.

Museums
The Pazhassiraja Archaeological Museum, formerly known as the East Hill Bungalow and renamed in 1970, is dedicated to showcasing the works of local artists and collections of historical relics. Situated on East Hill, it bears the name of Pazhassiraja Kerala Varma, a renowned figure from the Kottayam Royal Family who led the Pazhassi Revolt against British imperialism.
The museum is located in the East Hill locality of Kozhikode. It has the largest collection of Hero Stones after the museum in Egmore, Chennai. The staff are very helpful and photograpy and videography is allowed. The maintenance of the premises is excellent and it's worth spending about 2 hours to know about the region of Calicut. The lower portion of the building used to be a dungeon/ jail. The museum describes the development of the region of Calicut into the superpower city during the medieval times. Apart from the trading viewpoint, the development of script, temple art and architecture and daily life of the people in general is also displayed and covered sufficiently. Kudos to the ASI for the work they are doing.

The museum has been renovated and has got a facelift. Artefacts are well kept and the building in which the museum is housed itself is pre-independence. The items held are mostly stone carvings from various parts of Kerala during the time it was under various Kings. Along with the museum is an Art Gallery and Krushna Menon Museum. Due to renovation works going on the art gallery wasn't fully functional. The park outside the museum is a real good place to spend the evening with children

A good place with collections from stone age. Stone axe, tools , iron weapons, burial urn, etc are displayed with descriptions. Well knowledged staff members help us and answers politely for all our doubts. Out side the museum, tables are placed under the trees which are good for relaxing. The museum and art gallery is named after King Pazhassi Raja, known as the 'Lion of Kerala'. Pazhassi Raja Kerala Varma, who belonged to the Padinjare Kovilakam of the Kottayam royal family, resisted British colonization by resorting to guerilla warfare in the hilly areas of Wayanad. The museum honours the memory of this great freedom fighter who was killed in the beginning of the 19th century. The building was constructed in 1812 and was then known as East Hill Bungalow. It was used as the residence for the British Collectors of Kozhikode. Malabar Collector William Logan, author of the Malabar Manual and H. V. Conolly, the District Magistrate who was killed inside the building by four leaders of the Moplah Revolt, also lived here. Even after Independence, the bungalow was used as the office of the District Collector till 1976, after which it was converted into an archaeological museum. The first few exhibits here were brought from the Thrissur archaeological museum. Later, it began to display various relics unearthed from different parts of Malabar. In 1980, the bungalow was renamed as the Pazhassi Raja Museum. The museum, presently managed by the State Archaeology Department underwent major renovation in the 1990s. The Pazhassi Raja Museum, situated at East Hill, about five kilometers from Kozhikode, is a simple but elegant structure built according to the Kerala style of architecture. The neatly manicured lawns and the sprawling compound make for a tranquil atmosphere. Must visit 🫶

Situated near Kannur Road, it is a popular choice among travelers visiting Kozhikode.
We had a good experience in the restaurant. It was excellent in terms of quality, taste as well as service from the staffs. Got to say delicious food is the highlight of this place. The chicken biryani served is my absolute favourite one, especially the pickle served along with it is beyond description. The restaurant was crowded when we visited on Sunday night. But they have ample parking space available. Overall it was a pretty great dine-in experience.

Had to wait in queue for almost 45 mins before we finally got the chance to get a table. The waiting area is hot and overcrowded and there is no crowd management. When you finally get in though, it is like going from purgatory to heaven. Inside the AC seating area it is cool and not at all crowded. You can order at your own pace and eat peacefully. The food is amazing and tasty. Almost worth the wait.

Oh man. This was really good. Heartfelt and tummy full food. Biriyani felt like it was out of this world. The best was appam with fish mango curry. It was really good-gasmic.

Food is absolute yum... fell in love with Kerala cuisine after trying out food from here. But the AC seating has very limited capacity and with the temperature on the rise, AC seating would be a good respite. Wait time is high given the food quality and taste. Place is affordable and they charge around Rs.20 extra for the AC seating per dish basis. Dancing tea and fish mango curry were the showstopper for me

My first visit to Kozhikode as well as Paragon Restaurant. Truly enjoyed the experience, the food was yummy 😋 at reasonable price. The place is too famous and too crowded, makes you wait sometime for a table, but it’s worth a wait. Try Kerala authentic cuisine which are special and tastier. Not from this part of India 🇮🇳 so the experience was completely new too me and enjoyed the food as well.

Paragon Restaurant is an excellent dining experience that I would highly recommend. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The service was top-notch as well, with friendly and attentive staff that made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience that I would definitely return to in the future. If you're looking for a great meal in a welcoming environment, Paragon Restaurant is the place to go❤️

Mango Fish Curry was good but it looked like the fish in it was separately cooked. Combination with Appam was nice. Pompfret Taawa Fry was mild in spice levels but it was good. We missed the biriyani as we were late. Lemon Soda was just fresh and good. The coconut pudding was too good here.

Great experience, food and service. One of the best I have ever had in a long time. Everything is cooked to perfection and special call out to Mehboob who took care of us and explained each dish in detail and history in them. Thanks Paragon and team for the great culinary experience.

Paragon restaurant in Kozhikode is renowned for its delicious Malabar cuisine, especially its seafood dishes. The restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere and excellent service. Diners often praise the freshness of the ingredients used in their dishes and the authenticity of flavors. Some popular dishes include biryani, seafood curries, and traditional Kerala delicacies like appam and stew. However, like any establishment, experiences can vary. Some reviewers have mentioned occasional delays in service during peak hours or crowded periods. Additionally, depending on personal preferences, some may find the prices slightly higher compared to other local eateries, but many consider it worth it for the quality of food and overall dining experience. Overall, Paragon restaurant tends to receive positive reviews for its tasty food, welcoming ambiance, and attentive service, making it a popular choice for both locals and tourists looking to experience authentic Malabar cuisine in Kozhikode.

Dining at Paragon is an experience in itself. We went here twice in two days while in Calicut. Both days, we had to wait for around an hour before getting a table, and it was worth the wait ! There isn't anything at all one won't like here - the chicken biryani is smoking delicious with the famous dates pickle, the mango prawn and fish curry are the best I have ever had, and go so well with appam or Kerala parotta, their coconut pudding rounds up the meal with an amazing dessert option as well. The crab masala and other fish dishes are so so well prepared - truly deserves to be one of the most iconic restaurants in the world We would definitely plan more Calicut trips just for the Paragon experience !

It's recommended by the lodge owner where we stayed (Eshwari lodge). It's good but have to wait in the queue a lot. Good ambience, food quality and taste is good but the service is too bad. We waited almost 1 hr to get our food. We went for dinner around 10.45 pm and finished at 12.50 pm but still the restaurant was full.

Bring a vegetarian I was initially skeptical about eating here. But was pleasantly surprised with a decent variety of options in veg food. All the traditional Kerala dishes were awesome. Baked Desserts are not that good tho. Place is a bit small n dingy & service was slow but v. good. The complimentary salad with mango, carrot n chilli was just too good. Dancing tea is another different item tho the taste is like the normal tea only! That’s Another reason why place is always crowded apart from being a popular choice for many

I recently dined at Paragon Restaurant in Calicut and sadly, the experience fell short of expectations. The Chicken Biriyani and mutton Biriyani were not up to par; the chicken pieces lacked flavor, and the mutton Biriyani consisted mostly of bones with minimal meat. On top of this, the long wait of 30 minutes to get in made it a frustrating and time-consuming visit. I would rate my overall experience 3 out of 10, considering my experiences in other Kerala restaurants. I would not recommend Paragon Calicut, especially for families visiting from foreign countries to explore food in Kerala. Attached are pictures highlighting the disappointing quality.

Paragon Restaurant: Delicious Food, Expect a Wait! Paragon Restaurant is a must-try for anyone in Kozhikode looking for an amazing and affordable meal. The food is absolutely delicious - I had the prawn tava fry, mussels fry, and mutton biryani, and all three dishes were incredible. Each bite was finger-licking good! The staff at Paragon is friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. It almost feels like you're eating at home. Be prepared for a wait though! This place is popular, and there's a good chance you'll need to wait in line for at least 20 minutes. But trust me, the food is worth the wait!

Calicut Paragon is a renowned culinary gem in Calicut, known for its delectable dishes that showcase the authentic flavors of Kerala cuisine. During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes that left me thoroughly impressed. The porotta at Calicut Paragon was perfectly prepared, with layers that were fluffy yet crispy. It served as an excellent accompaniment to the main dishes. I also tried the paalapam, a traditional Kerala pancake, which was soft, fluffy, and simply delicious. The highlight of my meal was the fish mango curry, a signature dish at Calicut Paragon. The curry was a perfect blend of tangy and spicy flavors, and it paired beautifully with both the porotta and the appam. I also indulged in the mutton vazhatiyath, a flavorful mutton dish that was cooked to perfection. Apart from the exceptional food, the service at Calicut Paragon was outstanding. The staff was attentive, friendly, and ensured that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. In conclusion, Calicut Paragon is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the authentic flavors of Kerala. With its delicious food, excellent service, and inviting ambiance, it is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The food was really really tasty. Loved every bit of it. Waited about one hour to enjoy it because of the rush. The crowd coming to the restaurant is justifiable, as all the variety of food is delicious.

It was quite underwhelming considering the reviews and lores I heard about this place. Ordered a Lagoon Chicken biriyani and Fish mangoo curry. The chicken biriyani was such an underperformer with its taste and texture. Fish mango curry was decent and rich in flavours. I entered there at 12.15 PM , and it wasn't very crowded at that time. Would love to try beef and mutton dishes some other time.

I need not tell this but they are one of the top restaurants in the world. Frankly I didn't know that. I just happened to eat at this restaurant without any reference from anyone. In short, their food is one of the best I have ever tasted. The seafood platter had crabs, fishes, prawns, squids each one prepared in a unique flavour and taste. Tender coconut pudding was awesome and yummy. Though it is just a restaurant, they have maintained their standards as that of a star hotel. Anyone visiting Calicut must try this restaurant. Happy eating 😋😋😋.

Waiting Time - We did not wait much, it was less than 5 minutes wait time for us.... Seating - They have arranged good seating for all of us.... Ambience- Good, Quiet, Subdued dark. You concentrate only on your food and people and you don't see other things...Mosquitoes were the only issue as they keep on biting you now and then...Toilet was below average... Food - Tasty piping hot Mutton biriyani, chicken biriyani was served. Masala and flavour used in basmati biriyani was adding uniqueness to the dish. Pieces were tender, succulent and well cooked. Onion Raitha was without onions. Mint cooler was good. Vermicelli payasam, we asked was top notch... Overall, a good dine in experience....

Zain's Hotel in Kozhikode is a must-visit for those craving authentic Mappila cuisine. Run by Zainabi Noor, it's known for its signature Arikadduka - mussels stuffed with mildly spiced rice, steamed and fried. Located near Convent Cross Road, behind the Fire Station, this spot is perfect for enjoying Kozhikodian Biryani dishes or having snacks and coffee with friends.
Their savoury dishes and snacks are the ones that I would go back there for! Reach the spot by 5-6pm and you are in for a treat. While I had all the snacks they were offering (one of each), what caught my attention was a flattened egg dish. It was a boiled egg spiced up to perfection! Please do try this out. The eatery is a quaint little family run hotel. There is a very homely vibe to the entire place. It is very elegant indeed. Like all the other places in Kozhikode, parking is an trouble nearby. If you’re lucky, you should get a spot though! Auto/two wheelers are always recommended. Don’t forget to soothe your taste buds with their flavoured milks! As for lunch and dinner items, I ate there, but there are definitely better places around for a full meal as I think.

Preserving heritage with an exotic fare of snacks and classical 1980s construction, the restaurant is one of the oldest in the area. Had a wonderful array of snacks like steamed rice cakes, banana dumplings, steamed eggs, mussels pakoda and the show stopper was egg pathiri. Finally topped up with Suleimani chai and Cashew cups...!

I would recommend everyone to come with a empty stomach and try all of their snacks along with Milk tea/Lemon tea, wahh ! That will make your day. To try all the famous Malabar snacks, one should definitely come here and I don't think any other place offers much better than this quality and taste ( may be apart from some of the road side chaya kadas ;) Forgive the picture quality, was busy eating and forgot to take a picture in the beginning !! Could capture only with few snacks at the end, lol.

The key to get the best of all the snacks served hot is to walk in after 3:30 or 4. You can see the section getting stocked up and you can go ahead pointing on the delicacies you want to be served. Killer snacks, and during ramzan time the menu just gets extravagant. Close to the beach. Parking is very tricky. Sometimes you will have to wait to get seated in weekends. The ambience and service is very good. The chairs may not be too comfortable to sit for longer period to enjoy the meal.

This place is very famous in Calicut. The food here tasted fine, nothing worth repeating. The reason why I did not like the place is the cleanliness. It was very dirty inside and I did not visit again. Today while passing through the area I saw the hotel was under renovation. Maybe I will visit again to see how things are now.

The food they provided was good. But the tables and chair weren't cleaned while we were looking for a better corner to sit. All the food wastes and tissues in the floor, tables and chairs didn't impressed me at all. It was really disgusting. I don't know whether it was only my experience or others also felt the same. But the food I ordered was delicious and the porotta was very crispy. What I am specifying through this review is cleanliness. Also I felt it very bad, when the waiter brought those wet plates. Please correct all these flaws.

Five years ago, i gave this place a 5 star rating! Can't believe the place has regressed so much. I was surprised to find no crowd on a Friday lunch time. But realized the reason after tasting the food. Had mutton biriyani(as suggested by the waiter), Beef roast , porotta, a chicken delicacy and prawns. Apart from prawns fry, which was ok, everything was a total let down. Hope the place regains its lost glory.

I recently dined at this restaurant, unfortunately, I can't recommend it. The prices are high for what you get, and the taste is just ordinary..nothing like authentic taste 😔 ..Seafood dishes are particularly disappointing, with more onions and masala than actual fish or prawns. The service was also lacking, as we had to constantly ask for basic things like water. Overall, it's a pass for me. Plz check individual prices before u order. Especially snacks.

Bombay Hotel in Calicut has been a local favorite for 15 years, offering a mix of Indian fast food and Chinese dishes in a casual setting. While the decor may not be extravagant, the real draw here is the delicious food. Known for their flavorful biryani, including options like Mutton biriyani and Mutton curry, this restaurant also serves up tasty breakfast items, evening snacks, and cardamom tea.
Loved every dish ordered from here. Came here for breakfast. Orders Mutton kuruma along with Porotta and Noolappam. Those were amazing. So rich in flavours and mouthwatering. Then tried two snacks namely Chatti pathiri (ചട്ടി പത്തിരി) and Pazham Nirachath ( പഴം നിറച്ചത്). Both were super tasty. Satisfied with the customer service also. But there's maybe room for better Ambience and settings.

One of the very famous and popular restaurants in Calicut, it's a good spot for food lovers whether it's break fast, lunch, evening tea or dinner. Though Bombay is famous for Biriyani and many other dishes, I often go there for having evening tea and snacks. Their special tea is one of the best teas I have had from Calicut. They have wide varieties of tasty snacks and I have tried almost all their snacks at different times and their signature snack Elayada, Chemmeen Cake, Beef Egg Kabab and Pazham Nirachath, etc. are my favourites. This is a very crowded hotel near Calicut beach specially in the weekends and you'll have to park your vehicle finding a space anywhere near to this hotel.

Awesome food except for the biriyani which could have been better. I am rating it 1 star lower due to biriyani and willingness to serve snacks cold ( which are supposed to be hot . They do have a rack that can be heated to keep them warm ) . BDF was very good but quantity was a bit low. Chicken 65 was good I would have loved a bit more spice in it for sure . Tea was very good . Mutton cutlet and chatti pathiri were both very good but would have been better if they were at least kept warm. Mutton biriyani was very bland and the over usage of tomato in the rice reminds me of ambur style biriyani. But here the rice was mildly spiced and it doesn't go well with the tomatoes . And it was served cold 🙄. Service is very efficient. Plenty of space to accommodate a large number of guests. Both AC and non AC service halls are there . There is a free parking space near the restaurant for 4 wheelers. Overall a must visit restaurant

During my recent visit to the Bombay Hotel, I decided to explore their culinary offerings. I indulged in a couple of snacks and savored a refreshing juice. The one item that truly stood out among all was their Mutton Cutlet. It wasn't just good; it was extraordinary, leaving an indelible mark on my taste buds. The bustling crowd within the establishment was a testament to the deliciousness of their offerings. It was evident that the place had garnered a loyal following due to the consistently tasty food they served. I had also heard about their reputation for exceptional Mutton Biryani and Prawns Biryani. These dishes are now firmly on my radar for my next visit. The anticipation of trying them out is already making me look forward to my return. Despite the tantalizing food, finding the place proved to be a bit of a challenge due to heavy traffic in the area. Nevertheless, the taste experience at Bombay Hotel more than compensated for the minor inconvenience. In conclusion, my visit to the Bombay Hotel was a gastronomic adventure that left me craving for more. I can't wait to explore their diverse menu further and discover new culinary delights.

I have heard about this restaurant way back . Its an old restaurant. I went there to have their biriyani . We had chicken and beef biriyani . Actually i was not much satisfied with the beef biriyani . The beef was not well cooked . Chicken biriyani was ok . The rice had good flavours overall and ok biriyani. For the biriyani we had sides as chammanthi, salaad and dates pickle which nice but the chammanthi was little bit too salty . One of us also had chappathi and veg kuruma which was actually good 👍🏾. Rahmath Hotel, a modest Keralan establishment established in 1961, has gained popularity for its delectable biryani and refreshing milk sarbath. While it may appear to be just another railway hotel frequented by locals for budget-friendly meals, a closer look reveals its status as a beloved biryani destination in Kozhikode.
Visited the place for breakfast. The hype about the place is real. Amazing food. Has got some wide variety of snack options. That too tasty ones. Mutton stew was delicious with tender pieces. To add to that the porotta was crisp and hot. A must try place. Very near to the railway station.
Rameez Omer — Google review
Rahmath has earned its reputation for excellence in biryani preparation. We ordered beef biryani, chicken roast biryani, and prawns fry, accompanied by beverages. The Beef Biryani emerged as the unequivocal star of the show, with tender and succulent meat, expertly balanced spices, and perfectly cooked rice. In contrast, the Chicken Roast Biryani only achieved mediocrity, boasting pieces that lacked distinction and a paucity of flavor-rich masala, leaving a somewhat ponderous sensation after consumption. The Prawns Fry, albeit deep-fried, managed to hold its own due to the impeccable freshness of the prawns, which added a commendable dimension to its taste profile. The Mint Lime, served as a palate-cleansing counterpart, impeccably complemented the biryani with its revitalizing zest. What truly distinguished this dining experience was the Watermelon Juice, prepared without dilution, thus delivering an exceptional taste sensation that was nothing short of remarkable. Service was exemplary, characterized by both promptness and courtesy. It's worth noting that cash is the preferred mode of payment. In summary, our visit left us with an overall positive impression, primarily attributed to the outstanding Beef Biryani and the delightful Watermelon Juice, though other dishes left room for improvement.

Rahmath Hotel in Calicut is renowned for its beef biryani, and it certainly lives up to the hype. The beef biryani here is a delightful treat, with super soft beef that practically melts in your mouth. However, while it's undoubtedly delicious, it may not be the absolute best beef biryani you'll find in Calicut. Apart from the biryanis, the service at Rahmath Hotel is commendable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and ensures a pleasant dining experience. During my visit, I also sampled their chicken biryani, which was quite enjoyable, though not as standout as the beef variant. The ambiance at Rahmath Hotel is modest, yet comfortable, adding to the overall dining experience. It's a place where you can relax and savor your meal without any fuss. In conclusion, Rahmath Hotel is a great spot to indulge in some flavorful biryanis, especially the beef biryani. While it may not be the absolute best in Calicut, it's certainly worth a visit for its delicious offerings and excellent service.

I visited Rahmat Hotel after hearing a lot about this hotel. Beef Biryani and Kaada fry are the most famous items here. But for me, I don't eat Beef Nd Kaada fry was not ready at 12 Noon. Me and my wife tried Chicken Biryani & Squid Biryani. I really appreciate the taste. Since it's a very old hotel so in terms of service they are good and very prompt as they have a lot of guys to deal with any crowd. Also, this restaurant is spread over 3 floors. Visit here and have their famous Beef Biryani & Kaada fry. Environment wise it's good but ambience wise I don't suggest this place.

Just another overhyped restaurant in Calicut. I had been hearing such positive reviews about Rahmath Beef Biryani, so I decided to try it out. Yesterday, I finally got the chance to dine there. However, my experience was not as great as I expected. The restaurant was crowded, like many others in Calicut, but we managed to find a seat without much waiting. We tried the beef, chicken, and mutton biryanis. The beef biryani I ordered was average; it came with two beef pieces, one of which was very tough while the other was okay. The flavor and spices in the biryani were just average, lacking the rich taste I had hoped for. Overall, the restaurant did not live up to the hype created by the people of Calicut or food vloggers. Parking space is available, albeit a bit far from the restaurant. You need to deposit Rs. 100, which is refundable upon showing the bill. The rates are affordable, the ambience is average, and the service is good.

Ambience could have been better. There are a lot of dishes available including a lot of seafood items.

Food was amazing with authentic Malabar taste. Cooked with love to attain that special taste too. Tried their chicked & beef buriyanis. Mutton roast, Porotta, Spring chicken everything was nice.

Visited the legendary Rahmath hotel and it took me sometime to get a table for myself, busy as usual from what I heard and seen. I ordered a half portion of squid biriyani, which was the cheapest seafood biryani on the menu. The pickled onion salad that we get from here is something different than the usual buttermilk salad I am used to. Even the half portion was enough to fill my stomach and they gave a generous helping of the squid, I think I got more squid than the rice. Since this is my first experience with a seafood biryani, I think it will be hard to top this one.

Thank you Rahmath Hotel in Kozhikode for helping me understand the true taste of beef biriyani, an experience I had not encountered before in my life. Grateful to Kozhikode. With love from Kollam.

Simple Biriyani which helps you savour the taste of the main ingredients (the well cooked beef and the spices) and not the unwanted masala. The red snapper tawa fry was more than sufficient for 3 people. Good vegetarian selection too. Remember to end your meal with the lemon mint cooler.

Topform Restaurant Kozhikode offers a contemporary dining experience with a variety of Indian dishes and regional Malabar cuisine. Known for its Kerala Porotta, Beef roast, Beef curry, Chicken curry, and Chicken biryani, the restaurant also serves delectable Malabar biryani. The menu features delicious options like melt-in-the-mouth paneer kofta in a creamy onion tomato base. As a franchise, Topform is renowned for its quality across multiple locations.
Huge in seating capacity, spacious wash areas, quick and friendly service. Food was good in quality and quantity. We tried Chicken mulakittath, one of their specials for the day. It was really good. Fish mulakittath was equally good. Appam was soft and fluffy, Porotta was little hard. Overall a decent restaurant which still holds the goodwill from the old times

Topform has one of the best biriyani in Calicut. It is located in the heart of calicut town, opposite to KSRTC bus stand. The food is top class. We tried chicken biriyani and chicken kondattam. Chicken kondattam had a unique flavour. Has limited parking facility. Ac and non ac sections are also available. For lunch, try to reach early otherwise you may have to wait to get the table. Staff was also well behaved. However the prices are on higher side. One chicken biriyani is priced at 195 rs. Overall, a must try place if you are at Calicut.

Ordered Cream of chicken soup - decent 160/- Hot and sour soup - good 150/- an American Chopsuey - Horrible 250/- I've had CB here before and was good. But this times experience just killed that last ounce of hope.

Topform restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Calicut. This is located bang opposite to the KSRTC bus stand spread across the floors with first floor designated as AC. They have one of the best biriyanis in town and the service is very quick. Prices are reasonable. There is parking space available.

Tried Porotta, Ghee rice, beef roast, beef dry fry and tea... All are must try items 😋. Only issue is parking. If you are lucky, you will get a spot. Even though it's highly crowded, their service is good, also recommended for family. As its just oposite to KSRTC bus stand, crowd is , obvious!

It's a mess. Overpriced and overrated restaurant in the middle of Calicut city. Parking is a headache here. Recently I tried chicken biryani and it was too oily (or dalda). Don't go behind fame because at times quality gets compromised when quantity increases.
