The trekking starts from meen mutty waterfall . Tickets cost 2860 rs for 5 persons which includes guide fee also if any extra person with us we must pay 413 rs for each .
After finishing all procedures from ticket counter we can start the trekking with our guide .
( Try to reach the point as early as possible , normally trekking starts @9 am & need to carry enough water and food )
Kannan is our guide such a nice fellow ❤️
We started @ 10 the trail through shola forest were little difficult due to leaches so taking salt is better to avoid leach bites. Apply little salt powder on leaches when it bites. After the forest the greenish meadows will begin, and we can see the mesmerizing views of bhanasura hills . A hut 🛖 made for resting. From there the trail become straight . At the end the trail split in to two one trail to bhanasura reservoir view and the other to the banasura peak. First go to dam view point and then to the peak .
We summited at the top most point of the peak .
Guide told us that we were the first team reached that point because it was that much difficult. If he lie or not our team is very happy to be there.

Banasura Peak Trekking.
Wayanad is a paradise for trekkers, however one thing that makes Banasura Trek unique is the view of Banasura Dam. The ariel view of dam and its catchment area is stunning.
Kattukunnu is a small peak enroute. Trekkers can enjoy a closer view of the Dam and surroundings here. Once you climb up, this can be seen from a higher altitude.
Other than initial short stretch, the entire trail goes through grasslands.
Beware of leaches, especially in monsoon.
Banasura is one of the highest peaks in wayanad at an altitude of 2000M+.
Carry enough water and snacks.
Don't miss the Meenmutty falls, it's right behind the ticket counter.
Varambatta is the base, Padinjarathara is the nearby town where you can find accommodation, ATMs etc.

We went after the rainy season.
There was greenery all around.
6 kms of one side trek.
Initial 2 km of trek goes through dense forest. It is a little steeper, after that it's easy.
Do carry liquid sanitizer spray, in case you get leeches on you!
Overall, it was a wonderful experience with breathtaking views.
Trek cost was a little pricer compared to treks in Karnataka.

It is a really beautiful place. We will feel trecking is till "thavala paara" (frog shaped rock), but the trekking starts after that. The mountain itself is beautiful, the view from the mountain is amazing. Trecking finishes at pond encircled by a thick forest. It is a must go place for one who loves trekking. The guide we had was really friendly.

Bansura Hill offers a breathtaking natural retreat. The lush greenery, diverse flora, and serene atmosphere make it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts. The trek to the summit is challenging but rewarding, providing stunning panoramic views. The highlight is Bansura Sagar Dam, nestled between hills, creating a picturesque setting. While basic amenities are available, it's advisable to pack essentials for a comfortable visit. Overall, Bansura Hill is a haven for those seeking tranquility and a connection with nature.

Great place for trekking. There are multiple locations where you can start trekking from. But, the best starting point is from Meenmutti waterfalls, you'll get tickets for trekking and Waterfall entry from the same office. Other entry points are difficult to find. The staffs in the Meenmutti waterfalls entry point are very helpful and like minded. The only problem is that sometimes some guides insist to go fast to complete the trip. I'd recommend everyone to not to rush if there is no disturbance from wild animals

This looks so dam beautiful, the sight from the roads. The roads are good, in order to reach tot he banasura hill or to start to the treking point please proceed to waterfall way and speak to the gorest officials. I have heard they charge like 3500rs for a group of 5. I would recommend to park your vehicle's in the initial entey part, the road is bit slant and it poses a challenge if a biginner is driving. Even you can visit waterfall from the same point.

There is nothing like it, there is no old taste, the building has been constructed and the taste is known. It is also a decision to attract people. They just buy cash. There is no taste. There is not enough to show them to the children. There is a concrete building being built. There is also a small train everywhere. So not good, very bad. Buy a ticket and just watch

Ooty Lake is a picturesque gem nestled amidst the verdant hills of Tamil Nadu, India. Its serene waters, encompassed by lush greenery, offer a tranquil retreat for visitors seeking respite from urban bustle. Boating enthusiasts revel in leisurely rides on pedal boats or rowboats, soaking in the breathtaking scenery. Surrounding the lake, vibrant flower gardens and towering eucalyptus trees add to its charm. However, the lake's popularity can lead to crowds, particularly during peak tourist seasons, detracting slightly from the serenity. Overall, Ooty Lake captivates with its natural beauty, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking tranquility amidst nature's bounty.
Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in Tamil Nadu's Nilgiri Mountains, standing at 8,652 feet above sea level. It can be accessed via a scenic road on the Ooty-Kotagiri route and offers a spectacular view of Ooty from its peak. The mountain peak also boasts a forest preserve and telescope observatory. However, visitors should note that the entrance to the peak may be closed due to poor road conditions at times.
This place is best to visit on winter mornings...
I visited in the first week of January.

Try to avoid this peak during weekends or holidays. Too hot and too many people. Though it looks mesmerising during winter covered in clouds , compared to it in summer it doesn't look that good but still is beautiful.
Peak is completely net barricaded. The way to the peak is beautiful, surrounded by trees.

It was quite crowded, had to wait in line for many kilo meters before you reach the spot. Its not because of too much crowd at the place, but its mainly due to poor parking arrangements to handle a moderate crowd. If you are going on a busy day better avoid to save time. It is just a view point. The telescope house have nothing operating there.

It is situated at an altitude of 2,637 meters (8,650 feet) above sea level.
Timings- From 8am Onwards till 6pm
Entry fee - 10/- (On the way there is a toll gate where you have to pay 20/-)
Caution -
NO plastic is allowed here. It's better to avoid carrying plastic items.
Shops -
On reaching the peak, there are 2 shops which sell hot tea, lemon tea and coffee and various kinds of fried snacks-chilly bajji, noodles, dal vada etc.
We, two people, drank 1 cup of lemon tea (20/- per cup) each. It was delicious. It was around 8AM (01 Aug 23), temp was around 14°C, with cool breeze flowing, the hot lemon tea with basil leaves was so refreshing and warming.
While returning from the top, we enjoyed peanuts masala (cost - 30/-) at a shop downstairs which was also tasty.
First floor -
There is a telescopic aerial view available on 1st floor on climbing stairs. Since it was foggy, we didn't go there as nothing would have been visible.
From the Top -
Its a scenic view which people go to click some photographs. Other than that, the mountain top gives you beautiful landscape views of the surrounding hills, including Chamundi Hills, grassy plains of Mysore and Coimbatore including Karnataka border. One can even see the forests of Bandipur National Park from the top.

The parking area is small and gets filled soon on public holidays. So either reach early in the morning hours or on week days. It is usually crowded in weekends. Otherwise you mayn't get parking space.
Way Up -
On the way up from the junction to the peak, the view is beautiful with tall trees on either sides of the road. The city view is also available where we halted and took some photographs. The weather was so chill and foggy, we went inside the jungle on either side of the road, not too far, clicked pics.

Edakkal Caves, located on Ambukuthi Hills in the Wayanad district of Kerala, are an ancient archaeological site featuring Stone Age petroglyphs and breathtaking views. The caves were formed by a large split in a massive rock and boast the world's richest pictographic gallery of this kind. Visitors must trek 900 meters from the parking area and climb steep steps to reach the entrance. However, it is not recommended for elderly people due to its strenuous nature.
The best example of ancient life on earth. The cave is full of ancient inscriptions and it’s beautiful to look. Gives us the glimpse of past. The best part is the hike that we have to do to reach the place. It’s almost 1.5 km of steep slope and stairways. Will not recommend to people with heart disease as it will be extremely exhausting to get to the site. It’s the most amazing experience that we can have in our life. The top view from the cave entrance is amazing and beautiful. If you ever visit wayanad, you must see this place.

Had lots of time in SultanBattery and decided on the visit. Plan for 9 AM to 3 PM to really enjoy the trek and place.
1st check point is the parking ticket entry barrier, 40 per car, they give you parking lot number, you need to park there. Was low crowd, so no hassles.
The 1.5 km trek from park to cave is moderate and will need OK fitness. On the way, the way side shops solicit all types of business, we just just smiled and say NO. You need to carry water to drink, knee braces, if you are used to it.
We went slow n steady, reached the ticket place, 20 per person and they check for plastic bottles. You ho up granite steps, then steel steps, well made. The climb is steep in sections, goes up 300 steps into a cave. Just a cave, but what makes this special is the engravings of about 6k years ago.
Local guides appear magically, unofficial, you can pay them nominal fee. They explain well too 👍 Exit is clean too..
A good work out and an OK activity to do.. History buffs would love it!

I recently had the opportunity to explore the caves, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The natural beauty and geological formations inside the caves left me speechless. T
The caves were well-maintained and well-lit, allowing us to appreciate the stunning stalactites and stalagmites that adorned the caverns.
The atmosphere inside was surreal, with a cool temperature and an otherworldly ambiance. It felt like stepping into a hidden realm right beneath the earth's surface.
I would highly recommend visiting these caves to anyone with an interest in geology, nature, or simply adventure. It's a memorable experience that allows you to appreciate the marvels of our planet and feel a sense of awe at the wonders hidden beneath our feet.

Edakkal caves are popular for its historic significance , place is believed to be 6000 years old with paintings and scriptures inside it. There is a medium to difficult trek to reach the caves depending upon person's stamina but I would say it was mostly medium. This place is not suitable for anyone who need wheelchair accessibility and not suitable for young children. From parking to ticket counter there is 1 km trek then there are around 380 steps to the top of the caves. View is breathtaking and steps are breathtaking too. But place is must visit. There are multiple outlets available on way to caves that you can easily find snacks and drinks.

Those who go there can experience a little trucking. You have to climb through rocks and steps to reach the top where the cave is located. The top of it has a very nice view of the Ambalavayal area. In the cave you can see many ancient architecture, drawings and writings. And also you can see the reason for the name of the cave 'Edakkal'.

To get straight to the point. Don't Climb up if you are not up for a Km Trek to the top of the hill in a steep angle. I would not recommend this place for the elderly. The views from the top are good though. I am attaching a few pictures with this. It's a pre-historic site which ignites a thought, as to how and why these carvings were made here.

Many years ago, my family and I had the privilege of visiting the Edakkal Caves, and it was an experience we will never forget. Located in the Western Ghats, these ancient caves are a natural wonder that will leave you awestruck.
As we began our trek to the caves, we were surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of birds chirping. The hike was moderately challenging, but the scenic views of the surrounding hills and valleys made it well worth the effort.
Upon entering the caves, we were struck by the stunning rock formations and ancient carvings that adorned the walls. The caves are estimated to be over 6,000 years old, and the carvings depict scenes from everyday life, including animals, humans, and abstract symbols.
The most impressive aspect of the caves was the natural light that filtered through the cracks and crevices, casting an ethereal glow over the entire area. It was as if nature was putting on a show, and we were the lucky audience.
The views from outside the caves were equally breathtaking, with the rolling hills and valleys stretching out as far as the eye could see. We spent hours exploring the caves, taking in the history and natural beauty of this incredible place.

It is one best heritage caves we have in India, this has history to tell, the carving on the stones on the top of a hill tells a story of early Man , this is before the Indus valley civilization. The way to go on the top of the hill is covered with forest and you would love the chirping of birds and the green atmosphere, please be careful not to take any eatables in hand as there are lots of monkeys and they can snatch it from your hand. Also try to go early as possible , do not go on weekends as there will be a lot crowd and you will not be able to enjoy the whole experience.

Very beautiful caves. Long trek, about 1 km. Steep height. Wear good grip shoes and be energetic. Beautiful scenery. Cave is at top. To go there, climb stone steps. Very crowded area. Very long wait times to buy Cave tickets. Costs 50₹ per head.

The trek was quite tiring but the view at the top was worth it. Not suitable for aged people especially those with disabilities. The people who visit inside make a lot of noise and spoil the ambiance. Better to visit on a weekday when it is less crowded. Also try to visit right before closing hour which is at 4.30pm so that on your way down, you get to hear the symphony of nature that starts at sun down.

The view from the top that this place offers is breathtaking. There is a trek that's needed to reach the top, which is not so simple, but it is definitely worth it. Once you reach the top, this place is a beauty! The caves have thousands of years old carvings.

It is a nice place to visit. The walk from the parking spot to the cave can be difficult for people having walking issues or who have breathing problem. They should plan well and should ascend slowly. There are many shops for taking breaks.
Although the main cave is not that big you should keep your expectations accordingly. The old rock carvings are clearly visible but if you want to understand them better, you can opt for guides who are available inside the caves.

Nice place. It has bit long trek. Like 5km up and down from the parking lot. First 1-1.5km is through the road around small shops. Then you will reach the ticket counter. 50rs is the entry fee. Then steep steps made up of iron or steel for 1km max. Finally you will see the cave with historical symbols by the early humans.

Visiting Edakkal Caves is interesting, but buying tickets can be a hassle since you can't pay online. Still, the guides are friendly and explain things well. You might spot some cool birds on the way. It's easier to get around now compared to before. But, the shops along the path can be annoying sometimes.Overall, it's worth a visit if you like history and nature.

You need to walk for 900 meters from the parking area. After you reach the entrance of the cave you have to climb a lot! Steps are provided but it’s very steep. By the time you reach the top of the cave you will be dripping with sweat. I suggest that old people not to take this trek as it will be too tiring for them.

Its initial hike is tough till the ticket counter and then it becomes less easy comparatively. Coming down is easy.

A place with an immense amount of historic remains. Eddakal caves, located in Wayanad is a proof of Neolithic settlements that date back to 6000 BCE. There are engravings on the walls that are pre historic in nature and make us to realise how much human hand evolved over time.
A must see place for anyone visiting Wayanad. If you are coming along with senior citizens, it would surely be a struggle as there is just a lot to climb and most of it is extremely steep. But it's worth the climb!

Reaching Edakkal caves is simply completing a trek on its own. Starting at the base of the hill, you need to climb steep slopes to finally reach the base point, from where you climb the rocks to reach the caves. But the experience was mesmerizing. The climb, though, might be challenging for older people and those who are less experienced with going on treks. Still, for regular trekkers, this could be easily done.
From the base, you need to start climbing the stone steps. One needs to, though, be careful as the initial steps are simply cut out of the stone, and there is no support to hold onto except maintaining your own balance. Once you reach a certain level, there are railings to guide you. Post the railing, you must squeeze between rocks to get to the first cave structure. It is mesmerizing to see how big the structure is from the inside compared to the small entrance on the outside. A tiny well-like structure is also made inside, which still has water. After coming out of this cave, from the other end, a steel staircase needs to be used to reach the top.
For many people who are tired, there is also an option of going down using the same staircase from the halfway point, while others can continue climbing. The view from the top, though, is absolutely fantastic and soothing. It shows the entire expanse with lush green forests and hills facing the horizon in the background. Also, the calm wind blowing at the top is soothing. To the left from this viewpoint is another staircase leading to the second and main cave.
Here, across the maximum area, you could see ancient hieroglyphics written. The information board states that this once was the home during the Neolithic period. Various drawings and other symbols are carved onto the stone, and it is interesting to see that these have stood the test of time over several thousand years. At the end of the cave is a slit from which you can see the valley from the top of the mountain.
Once done viewing, you can start climbing back down using the same steel staircase, which takes you directly back to the base from where the climb starts. Overall, the place is a part of ancient human history and, though a slightly difficult trek, gives you the most amazing views.

Ticket price Rs 50 for cave(it was only cash when I visited ) n for parking Rs 50 . The natural cave is maintained well n great place to get acquainted with our History. The place was truly amazing! Different parking slots were available, and a nominal fee of 20 rupees for bike parking was required at the entrance. After parking, there's about a kilometer journey to reach the assigned spot. From there, it's a challenging trek to the top where the cave is located – not for the faint-hearted. The entry charges is 50 rupees per person, advised to carry cash. The terrain is tough, and sturdy shoes are advised due to slippery roads. The descent poses a challenge with steep stairs, which could be dangerous.
However, the overall experience is worth it. The cave offers a unique visit, with lots of shops along the way for essentials. The adventure may be tough, but the scenic beauty and the sense of accomplishment make it a great experience.

The Government Botanical Garden in Ooty is an incredible botanical garden with a huge variety of plants from all around the world. It's a popular tourist destination with visitors able to explore different sections of the garden that have been meticulously trimmed and shaped into stunning forms.

Climate is very cool.
Best time to visit here is during summer. when the flowers are in full bloom. According to locals they say not to visit in winter. The entry ticket for adults is ₹50 and ₹30 for children. Four wheeler parking they charge 100Rs.
The garden is so neat n beautiful.
The place is huge with few green houses, carved trees, bushes and shrubs. It has a variety of rare plants and flowers all well preserved.
They have a wide variety of cactus n succulents, they even sell few plants n succulents at reasonable prices.
Overall it was a good and memorable experience.

Lovely garden, well maintained and has huge varieties of rare trees, shrubs and unique flowering plants. Though it's heavily crowded on weekends and public holidays, owing to its huge area cover, you won't be running into others that much. Though sanitary workers take so much of effort to maintain park neat and tidy, it's really disturbing to see few visitors throwing away waste and leftover foods just like that. Humble request to all people who read this review to encourage themselves and people around you to keep all public places anywhere for that matter, neat and clean. Please find a bin and throw waste.

Very well maintained.
A quick walk , glancing through the exhibits and the flora would need about 45 minutes.
Even 2 hours might be less for a detailed visit !
( PS-A café and a nursery shop are also there inside )
Private car park is just 1 minute walk away from the main entrance.

Govt Botanical Garden is such a beautiful garden that fills your heart with joy. I went there last in 2008, and had the pleasure of visiting it in 2023. The glasshouse had the choicest collection of flowering plants, and succulents. The fern house looked beautiful but was closed. The huge trees that surround the paths of the garden are a sight to behold. There is a lovely store where you can buy a whole range of plants at super affordable rates. The price range starts at 10Rs.

It's worth the visiting. Easily it takes off 1-2hrs of our time. Try going in evening time or in morning time to take good photos. We can assume it more as a normal park then the botanical garden. Theme n designs are good. If you are short of time as tourist better to skip as to watch in hurry.

Well maintained, very neat and clean.. one of the must visit in Ooty.. Covid protocols are strictly followed in the entrance.. flower show in April month of every year and dog shows are popular events here.. road side shops outside the park are excellent for shopping - prices are reasonable and good products.. small indoor cactus plants sold at 250 rupees in other cities are sold for just 50 rupees..

Best time to visit here is during spring when the flowers are in full bloom and lush greenery. If you come in the Winter season (December/ January) there is nothing much to see. Because during the winter season they start to plant flowers so you can't enter to the grassland. The entry ticket for adults is ₹50 and ₹30 for children. They charge around ₹80 for four wheeler parking. The garden is good and vast. The place is huge with greenhouse, sculptures trees, bushes and shrubs. It has variety of rare plants and flowers all well preserved.Overall a good experience and can explore variety of plants flowers and huge old trees.Best place to visit with family and friends.

Established in 1848, it occupies an area of more than fifty acres, and is home to a wide variety of flora, many indigenous to the area. Reports suggest that it took about ten years to complete the garden, as a portion of jungle and swamp had to be converted into a garden.
There are lots of visitors and some of the flowerbeds and flowers, specifically inside the glass house have been very tastefully displayed.
Well worth a second visit...

Good place to hang out. Lots of varieties of trees are there. There are small ponds and small flower gardens also. The entry fee is 50/- (We visited on 31st Jul 23). You can click pictures and enjoy the calmness of this place. Scenic beauty of Ooty can also be seen. You can hang out in the garden as well.

There's variety of plants and flowers on display is impressive. It's a perfect spot to spend some peaceful time in nature. However, I would recommend avoiding weekends as it tends to get overcrowded, which can take away from the tranquil experience.

Now this is not the peak season. But still the garden maintaining well. It will look far more beautiful if you are visiting while season of March to May. Expect crowd always. Try to visit before 3 pm to spend your quality time with the beauty of flowers in the beautiful background of the well maintained garden. Please keep in mind the sun light may fade early due to cloudy/ rainy weather. Ooty climate is unpredictable at times, so keep an umbrella handy. If it rains it will take time to reach to exit and spoil your experience, so better be prepared.

The place is a delight to be at and you definitely want to spend more time here especially in the evening. It shuts down at 6:45 pm so please plan accordingly. There is a ticket to get in but the place is amazingly well maintained and clean. They do have a wide variety of plants and trees and it is planned in a very thoughtful manner. Please do not litter and spoil this place. It is perfect for a picnic. There are plenty of stalls and shops outside the garden and the traffic at the chowk is also well transitioned.

I went there on 20th Jun. 2023 and it was raining. The garden was beautiful and well maintained as well. Lot of different kind of flowers and trees. Lot of benches to sit and relax. You can feel tired easily if you will explore more as there are slant paths to walk. We went to the top of the garden up to the staff quarters. It is definitely a place for nature lovers only.

The place isn't that well maintained.

It's crowded at all times and many places are closed so you cant have a close look.

Big and huge garden. Well and cleanly maintained. But nothing much to see. It’s a quite sit out place. Enjoy fresh air, lay on cool green grass, with gentle sun rays morning at around 11:00am to 1:00 pm to take fresh sunlight.

Too crowded which actually spoils the beauty of the place. Well maintained garden. All the glass houses were closed when we visited.
Monkey puzzle tree( monkeys cannot climb this tree), Fossil Tree trunk etc were some of the attractions.
There is a small shop run by Thoda people at the main exit gate. Price seems to be bit high but not sure though.

Will visit again next month during the Flower show.
Entry ticket is ₹50 and car parking is available on the either side of the garden.
Raj Bhavan is located inside the garden and got a chance to see the Governor leaving the garden along with his convoy.

The Botanical Garden in Ooty offers a vast expanse, but our visit in March, supposedly peak season, left much to be desired. Disappointingly, the garden lacked the vibrant blooms expected during this time, with only a small gallery showcasing flowers or flower shows. Maintenance seemed lacking, with dried-up foliage prevailing throughout. However, the garden does provide a serene environment for relaxation and enjoying nature's tranquility. While it falls short of expectations for a botanical garden experience, it serves adequately as a spot for casual gatherings and snacks. Perhaps timing plays a crucial role, but based on our visit, it didn't quite live up to its botanical reputation.

Kuruvadweep is a verdant and pristine island located on the banks of river Kabini. It offers seasonal access for leisurely walks, hikes, and bamboo rafting excursions. The island boasts of lush evergreen forests that are home to rare species of birds, orchids, and herbs. Visitors can enjoy the tranquility of nature's beauty while walking through water flowing amidst rocks that lead to other islands separated by rivers.
I was thinking how good its going to be in the beginning after reading about the place in the internet. But after visiting there last week, I felt totally refreshed. It will definitely be worthy if you love nature. Kabini river flows though the island and it's in the jungle you will have to walk in to reach the river flow. The rocks there are slippery, so take care while climbing. There are many forest guards posted nearby for the rescue. Enjoyed the day a lot and the visit here means you will be spending your whole day here so plan wisely on your schedules if you are running out of time. On the way from the Island, there is a tribal museum which is also worth visiting. Must strongly recommend this both places. The staffs are very friendly and they do their works efficiently. Claps for their hardwork🙂👏👏👏

Lemme give a clear description.
Per day the tickets to island are given 575. There are two entry gates you can choose as per your stay and nearest one.
If you want to go to island(on the bamboo raft, they will leave to other side of water)
Reach by 7am to get the tickets and counter will open by 9 am.
1. If you have not been to any nature place like forest, greenary, hill station then it excites you definitely otherwise you don't find anything interesting.
2. The entry fee is 94 rps to island and bamboo rafting is 100 per head
3. After getting entry to island, there will forest and you need to walk for 1km to reach the end destination which is Kabini River.
4. Guards will be there to help you through out the way.
5. You can experience forest feel through the walk and water is not that clean but if you are interested, you can bath also.
6. Dormitory rooms, cloak room and toilets are available. The Snack shops are less but you can get home made chocolate, spices etc.
7. If there is no entry to island after the 575 tickets, go for Bamboo rafting which is worthy.
8. On weekends, the place is very crowded and you don't get tickets easily.
Overall : Good place if you have not seen any forest or greenary places. Can spend atleast half day.
Please follow wanderlust_shruthi on insta for more details.

A pure natural place to visit. It has its own beauty in everywhere. Water flowing through the rocks so we can walk through the water and reach the next island. There are many islands are seperated by rivers.
Bamboo river rafting was also there but it is not that much adventures.

Visiting this island was such an amazing experience, and the best part of our Wayanad trip. During peak times, the queue for the ferry to/ fro the island would be huge, hence take the back entrance, and start early in the morning, if you do not want to waste time in the queue.
The island has beautiful waterways, wooden bridges, mangroves, and good spots for bathing. Walking through the wilderness, itself, gives you a great experience. Not suitable to elderly people though.
Simon Thomas — Google review
It's almost 1000 acres of forest land surrounded by the Kabani River. No roads to this island, and it is maintained by the Kerala Forest Department.
As per their own billboards, they claim only 575 persons will be permitted to island daily. Entry is restricted with tickets and they provide bamboo rafter to cross the river.
Walking through the forest island will be a good experience, but during rainy season, they don't operate and no entry for public.
Vinod Lall Aryachalil — Google review
The island is only accessible by boat, which adds to the thrill of the journey. Once you reach the island, you'll be greeted by a lush green forest that's home to a variety of rare and exotic flora and fauna. The trees are so dense that the sunlight barely filters through, creating a cool and soothing atmosphere.
There are several walking trails on the island that take you deep into the forest. You'll come across small streams, waterfalls, and ponds that are perfect for a refreshing dip. The highlight of the island, however, is the bamboo rafting experience. You get to glide along the river on a bamboo raft, taking in the beautiful scenery and spotting some rare birds and animals.
The island is well-maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. They provide you with all the necessary information and equipment to make your visit comfortable and enjoyable. The only downside is that the island can get a bit crowded during peak tourist season, so it's best to visit early in the morning or during weekdays.
Safeer Shahul — Google review
Average place. Not up to the hype. Entry fee is 110rs for a person. Plastic deposit is 20rs they will give after you return the plastics. I have to wait for a bamboo boat. Then once you get into the island then you have to walk like 1-1.5km on one side to reach the stream.
Shreevathsa T — Google review
Just a hike of 1 km inside the Forrest, you can enjoy kabini river. Chance of encountering elephants as well. We encountered elephant passing. The tickets are limited to 575 person only. There is an alternative 2nd gate as well you can try if you did not get the tickets at the main entrance.

Kuruvadweep is a popular tourist spot in Wayanad district. The boat ride and island visit are amazing experiences. However, the staff's behavior towards visitors is rude. We booked a 30-minute boat ride with an island visit at a reasonable cost. But they didn't provide the full 30 minutes on the boat and rushed us to leave at 4:30, even though we wanted to stay longer.

Hi,
I am at beach today 25dec23. Reached at 7am. Standing in queue till 9:30am, tickets counter starts at that time. Only limited 575 tickets will be sold, so if you are planning to travel on weekends then don't come after 9am, you will not get ticket.
Will edit review again once explore area today.
New updates:
River drafting is not good, I suggest try banasura Sagar dam, it has speed boat, and different types of boating activities, too famous.
So basically they take you from one side of river to other(small river) and then u need to walk for 2km inside jungle, till you reach at other end of jungle where again river u can see and play in water sometime. Going through jungle is good journey, if ur true nature lover, big trees and locations for photoshoot.

A protected conservation area and biosphere reserve in the south of Karnataka, adjoining Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It straddles a National highway and significant volume of traffic passes through on a daily basis. However, you would do well to stay in jungle lodge and enjoy the jungle safari (included in package). It would enable a leisurely visit to deeper areas of the forest and witness flora and fauna in natural settings.

The Sri Chamundeshwari Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Chamundeshwari, an incarnation of the goddess Durga. The temple is located atop a hill in the city of Mysore and offers panoramic vistas of the city. Many rulers have contributed immensely to the temples development and given valuable ornaments to Goddess Chamundeshwari.

This well-known tourist spot in Mysore is a must-visit for those seeking goddess blessings. The temple's charm is delightful, although it can get crowded on weekends and Friday mornings. However, for a small fee of Rs 100 or Rs 30, visitors can opt for fast entrance or special entry, respectively, ensuring a smoother experience. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the nearby nature paths and enjoy the fresh air. While parking is available for a fee and a short walk away, it adds to the overall convenience of visiting this sacred site.

Review Date (28-6-23): Chamundeshwari is called by the people of Karnataka as Nada Devi (ನಾಡ ದೇವಿ), which means state Goddess. It is situated at the elevation of around 3300 ft from the mean sea level.
--> It is believed that Goddess Durga slayed the demon king Mahishasura on the top of this hill which was ruled by him. The place was later known as Mahishooru (Place of Mahisha). The British changed it to Mysore and later Kannadized into Mysuru.
--> The Chamundeshwari Temple is considered as a Shakti Peetha and one among the 18 Shakti Peethas.
--> The worst thing here is management of queue line for Dharshan. The Rs.100/- or Rs.30/- or d free Darshan has almost no difference bcz it took 2½ to 3 hrs for Rs.100/- nd all queue lines got mixed at almost same time.
Toilets r there but some less maintenance.
--> Flowers, coconut stalls people say to keep footwear for free but we should compulsory buy at them. But infact there is a plenty of Footwear storage for Rs.10/- for 2 pairs. So no one need to leave their footwear at stalls..
Monkeys are quite more so don't keep banana type eatables directly in hand.

Temple is really divine but crowd management is worst. Please ensure that people enter the temple in single line so that elderly people and people carrying babies don't feel suffocated. The push and pull mentality doesn't let one have a peaceful glance towards the goddess. The management must take care about queue management properly.

Once inside the temple you don't have even 3 seconds to join hands and pray. That is the part is didn't really like I was told to leave as soon as I got in.

The Chamundeshwari Temple is a Hindu temple located on the top of Chamundi Hills about 13 km from the palace city of Mysuru. The temple was named after Chamundeshwari. It is built in Dravidian style, consisting of the main doorway, entrance, Navaranga Hall, Antharala Mantapa, Sanctum Sanctorum and Prakara. There is a beautiful seven-stage pyramidal tower at the entrance and a small tower on top of the sanctum sanctorum. Chamundeshwari is called by the people of Karnataka as Nada Devi, which means state Goddess. It is situated at the elevation of around 3300 ft from the mean sea level.

Sri Chamundi Temple is for all spiritual seekers. Temple is on a beautiful hill located just outside the city, offering breathtaking views of Mysore from the top. The highlight of Chamundi Betta is the Chamundeshwari Temple, dedicated to the goddess Sri Chamundeshwari.
The temple is a significant religious site and attracts devotees from all over. Don't forget to take some time to explore the surrounding nature trails and enjoy the fresh air.
Now there is new, specious dedicated parking area to park vehicles.
There is general line, special line and fast line for free, rs 30 and RS 100 respectively.

Another well-known tourist spot in Mysore that is highly recommended to obtain goddess blessings
The temple itself is lovely as usual. In case you plan to visit during the weekend or on Friday morning, prepare yourself for a large crowd. Fast entrance and special entry are available for a minimal fee of RS 100 and 30Rs, respectively.
Ensure to spend some time soaking in the fresh air and exploring the nearby nature paths.
There is plenty of paid parking available, although the temple is a short walk from the parking lot.

The Mysore Palace, an Indo-Saracenic palace completed in 1912, is one of India's most splendid royal buildings and the second-most-visited sight in the country. It served as the seat of the Wodeyar maharajas and was rebuilt after a fire devastated the original structure in 1897. The extravagant interior features a vibrant array of stained glass, mirrors, and bright colors.
One of the mouth struck experience. Mysore palace is must visit place, still the heritage of the city is well maintained.
If you plan by evening around 4pm. You can both visit palace & light show starts at 7pm.

A very well kept palace worth taking the time to visit. Lots of local tourists, too.
The architecture is amazing. Lots of photo ops. The rose garden was in bloom and we could admire it from afar.
The upper sections will attract viewers who have to walk through barefooted.
Security checks at entrance and bags have to be screened. The personnel handled the crowds well.
On Sundays and public holidays the palace is lit up spectacularly from 7pm to 8pm making for good photo-op.

Mysore Palace is a majestic architectural marvel that showcases the grandeur of Indian royalty. The intricate detailing, stunning domes, and beautiful courtyards leave visitors in awe. The palace is steeped in history and cultural significance. The highlight is the breathtaking night lighting, where thousands of lights illuminate the palace, transforming it into a magical sight. The play of colors and the reflection on the surrounding water creates a mesmerizing ambiance. The lighting ceremony is a must-see, as it brings the palace to life in a captivating way. Inside, the palace is equally captivating, with opulent halls, intricate artworks, and a glimpse into the royal lifestyle. A visit to Mysore Palace is a journey into the past, and the enchanting night lighting adds an extra layer of charm to this iconic landmark.

Exploring the impressive palace was a captivating experience, featuring a vast array of rooms showcasing fascinating artifacts. The palace's charm is further enhanced by a beautifully landscaped garden, where occasional glimpses of elephants and camels contribute to the overall allure.
While the visit provides a fascinating insight into royal life, it's important to note that limited wheelchair access may restrict exploration of certain areas. Despite this limitation, the palace remains a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, offering a rich and immersive journey into the regal past.

Amazing place to visit, we had the luxury to visit at the time when there was minimum crowd so clicking pics was fun and easy. Palace itself is mesmerizing with such a view and space, there are plenty of space around palace too for taking leisure walks.
Inside of palace is also very nice, the condition it is in well preserved and all items are stored very safely.
Only if they could've added a small brief on the items we are seeing would've been cherry on the cake.

The Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens is an animal zoo located adjacent to the Karanji lake and has been in operation since 1892. The zoo is home to a diverse range of animals, including exotic species, and is highly popular with tourists. The gardens are well-maintained and feature large gardens with a lake.
I had visited in end Apr 2022 on a Sunday. Very good and well maintained zoo. ₹100 entry fees for adults, if children are below 5 years age no need for entry ticket. ₹100 if you have separate camera irrespective of type. Walking distance is around 3 km it will take around 3 hours if you want to see all birds, animals. Battery car is also available for which you need to take ticket after getting entry ticket. On entering zoo, you need to pay refundable deposit of ₹10 for every plastic bottles you have and they will label it. On exiting the zoo, show these bottles and get refund. Most of the people get exhausted at exit, so probably we won't go back to the place for refund. Good thing is that the exit gate is leading directly to car parking. So you can easily go to your van or car at the parking lot. Most of hotels around the zoo are vegetarian. this is the only drawback. Since it was a holiday time for kids, the zoo was very much crowded. Due to this during lunch time you hardly get seats at the nearby restaurants and will not have much varieties to order. Hotels nearby serve mostly rice plates during this peak hours.

Mysore Zoo, also known as Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, is a popular tourist attraction and one of the oldest and most well-maintained zoos in India.
It is home to a wide variety of animal species, including many endangered and exotic animals.
Visitors to Mysore Zoo can witness over 150 different species of animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceros, orangutans, and various types of birds and reptiles. The zoo also has a separate enclosure for nocturnal animals, where visitors can observe creatures such as bats, owls, and hedgehogs.
It has successfully bred several endangered species, including the Indian rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger.
The zoo also offers several amenities for visitors, including a battery-operated vehicle for sightseeing, a food court, and various information kiosks. It is open on all days of the week except Tuesdays and offers a unique opportunity to get up close with wildlife in a safe and controlled environment.
Overall, Mysore Zoo is a must-visit destination for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts, providing an immersive and educational experience for all ages.

It's always good to visit this zoo with good varieties of animals and birds. New animals are also filling the place as the old ones are expiring.
Maintenance has increased tremendously with good focus on customer experience and safety.
Glass barricades are a good addition but it has to be cleaned occasionally.
Feels that animals are well maintained with good flow of adoptions in the recent days.
No special value for animal adopters (which is seen in other zoos). Even a small gesture like a returnable ID card would also attract more people. Even adoption boards for less than 20k amount are not put.
Parking space, entrance and other amenities are increasing day by day, which attracts more and more tourists.
Overall, a fine place for 2 to 3 hours of time.

Wonderful experience especially if you are with kids. The animals look healthy and well taken care of though in captivity. However, the enclosures are big and give the animals a lot of space to move about.
The electronic buggy shuttles make it easier to see the entire place for those who may have knee problems or maybe tired.

1. Very Big zoo. It will take 3-4 hrs to cover entire zoo.
2. The zoo was very crowded in weekend.
3. The management is very concern about the environment but the proper execution and co-operation from public can be better.
4. There are lots of birds and animal, I didn't find in another zoo.
5. Dedicated parking is available for both 4 wheeler and 2 wheeler. 2 wheeler parking charge : Rs. 40 /bike. This is only applicable for 4 hrs parking. If you are extending this time they'll charge you more.
6. There are drinking water and toilets available in zoo at many places.
7. You can also finds few shops for snacks inside zoo.

The Mysuru Zoo is one of the cleanest ones you'll see in the country. The animals are always seen in a hygienic environ. And you have a large variety of them including Gorillas and Giraffes which are hard to find in most zoos. Children will have a memorable time although the zoo lacks a safari ride. They have golf Cart rides but these have long wait times so that part needs to be maintained better. Walking through it'll take at least 2 hours so please plan that much time.

Mysore Zoo, also known as Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, is a must-visit destination in Mysore. The zoo is well-maintained and provides a great opportunity to observe a wide variety of animals. Visitors can see endangered species like tigers, elephants, and giraffes up close, making it an enriching and educational experience for both adults and children. The zoo's lush greenery and serene ambiance create a peaceful setting for a leisurely stroll while admiring the diverse wildlife. Overall, Mysore Zoo offers a fantastic wildlife experience and is definitely worth a visit for nature and animal lovers alike.
Mohammed Saheer — Google review
It is hard to rate a zoo because it is essentially animals trapped in a cage for the entirety of their existence but if you put those sentiments aside, the zoo offers interesting facts of all the animals on the boards in front of the cages, regarding what they eat, how endangered they are and where they are from.
Most of the cages were well maintained however the lions looked very malnourished, or could possibly be old age. It was sad to see. The water in the ponds were not refilled so the tiger had nothing to lie in to cool down.. the zoo can be doing a lot better to take care of these animals considering the amount of people visiting each and every day.
Nevertheless, the gorillas and chimpanzees were a sight to see as they made moves for us all and tried to make us laugh..the gorilla is extremely endangered so it makes sense they are preserved in a zoo..
When you visit, make sure to not feed the animals or tease or scare them. They have feelings too. You also have options to donate to the cause by adopting the animals..

We lived the zoo. They have so many varieties of animals, birds, and plants and are well maintained. The zoo walking area is around 3km, if want a ride, you can get a battery car for 200rs per head. The path is well covered with trees so help from direct sun.

Mysore Zoo is a delightful destination for families and animal lovers alike. The variety of species housed here, from majestic elephants to playful monkeys, provides a fascinating glimpse into the diversity of wildlife. The zoo's spacious enclosures and well-maintained facilities ensure the animals' comfort and well-being. However, some areas could benefit from additional shade and seating for visitors, especially during hot weather. Overall, Mysore Zoo offers an enjoyable and educational experience, perfect for a day out with the family.

The best zoo in India and one of the best in the world as of today. The zoo is very big spanning across 157 acre and a walking of distance of around 3.5km. If you cannot walk there are golf carts available for some extra fair. The number of animals and species is just astounding. There are more than 562 mammals, 748 birds and 103 reptiles. The variety is quite big and animals and tress from all around the world can be found here. There is a lake, called Karanji which i wasn't able to visit as it required a ticket of its own but it wasn't mentioned anywhere near the ticket counter. There are souvenir shops, a restaurant and a Mysore sandal shop inside the zoo too. Don't miss the bird enclosure as it has many birds moving freely and is really beautiful.
An advice from my side: there are many places with free drinking water where you can fill up your bottle, but if you don't have a bottle and buy one from the restaurant, make sure to keep the bottle with you till the end and there will be a counter where you can give the bottle back to get Rs10 back per bottle.
(going to upload only some photos as i didn't take that many photos)

A really nice place to visit for animal and nature lovers. There are a huge variety of different animals that you can see.
The whole path is around 3km which might be difficult for some.
There is strict checking for plastic items like bottles, chips, etc. You'll also not find any snacks or beverages along the way except at one point. If you are bringing snacks, make sure to bring them in paper/non plastic bags.
Also be sure to carry water, hats and cooling glasses since it is extremely hot and sunny.
Plan to go early in the morning to avoid the afternoon heat.

Mysore zoo is very good place to visit with family.the place is crowded during weekens and public holidays. if you are with children then you can book electric vehicles. It will be better. Zoo is clean and wall maintend. Ro water also available inside the zoo. Nice experience to see giraffe closely.

It's a nice place but in the summer season every animal is struggling. We can see that. If they provide extra water to every animal they may feel chill.
Maintaining good and clean. The restroom and child care room are also there in lots of places. Drinking water is good.
The entire zoo will take 4 hours to cover.
Inside some little shops there to buy, eat but the thing is expensive.

I was surprised to see it so clean and neat during my second visit recently.

It's a really beautiful garden decorated with flowers and water fountains.
The architecture of garden is amazing as it gives the feel of terrace with stairs with flowers all around it. You can see different kind of flowers spread across the garden.
During nights, there is light and water show in the garden.
For entry you can get tickets at the entrance and food stall and small shops with snacks are present in the garden but they will charge a little more.
Boating facility is also available in the garden.
Dam side view is also amazing. A good place for chilling out.

I recently visited a tourist garden that had once held promise but now languished in a state of neglect. While it was evident that the garden had seen better days, I couldn't help but appreciate the natural beauty that still managed to shine through. Though the maintenance was lacking, making it a less-than-ideal destination, the lush greenery and scenic surroundings, particularly during the monsoon season, made it worth a visit if you're seeking a temporary retreat.

The park is good for time pass and a few photo clicks. Both the gardens are the same. Don't fall into the trap of different gardens. There's no light and music show since the last few months and will be operational after 6 months. The ticket counters (both entry and boating) will not intimate you about this. Recommended for verification before purchase of tickets.

An amazing fountain show experience here!
Initially we took a lot of time to find the place since Google maps wasn’t showing the right path! We went on a weekend and it was completely crowded and had difficulty walking amidst the crowd!
The musical fountain show was extremely amazing. Lights were really good too. It lasted only for 10 minutes. There are shows every 30 minutes interval.
Overall a good experience!

One of the best places to hangout and spend peaceful time in the gardens. have a family time. The bridge toll and parking fee is a total of 100rs and the ticket amount for adults above 6 years old is 50 rs and the rate for children 3 to 6 yrs old is 10 rs. The area has a ramp for the stroller and wheelchair. The garden is filled with many small fountains and good lighting and a lot of trees with small plants.
The garden is the down side of a dam. Where the spill way of the dam is flown in between through the garden. We can cross the spillway using boats and there is a small bridge to walk across.
Every evening there will be lighting and musical water shows available in the brindavan gardens. A lot of people can watch this wonderful show together from the gallery provided.
A boating facility is also available here. Different types of boats are available here.

The gardens and fountains are well maintained. Of course one can still find many things broken or not working. Nevertheless it's worthy of a visit. They have a musical fountain on the north side of the garden. There are places to sit and enjoy. The musical fountains are in action between 6:30 to 8:00 for 10 minutes every half an hour. Children would definitely enjoy this place.
But very touristy especially during weekends and holidays.

It would be great if the equipment for the water fountain is maintained properly. Not a good idea to visit in the first half of the day. I visited Brindavana Gardens long back and the experience was ok but this time it took a 180 degree turn and can be easily considered excellent and exceeded my expectations. From the start, ample parking space, decent snacks and chat stalls, garden grounds and fountains were maintained extremely well. The light and sound fountain show was very good. The only issue is public urination due to non availability of ample clean toilets.

This is famous by name but in current condition Nov 2023 there is nothing in good condition. Only part of the first row fountains are in working condition. Not maintained at all. Beware from pickpocket specially in musical show time and when cross the walkway bridge.

A real mixed bag. The gardens are really big and unusual, Italianate in part. Large lake below the dam, fountains are great. However some areas are quite neglected and need to be better cared for. Start early, so that you reach the place 'gaganachukki' . You can spend sometime there watching lush greenery and fill your eyes with Milky colour of water falling from mountains. You can smell the aroma of water flow.
From there, around 12km drive where you see the 'shivana samundra' check dam. no water activities are allowed but swimming with own risk.. the water flow is very high during mansoon reason, till oct.
Drive another 1.5km from here , actually you see the gaganachukki back sight see, from Durga side
Drive another 2.5km from there and you reach the 'barachukki'.
This is even marvelous.
So, you should visit all the 3 places to complete the shivana samudra a day trip.
You can visit hydro power plant if your are interested.

Great one time visit spot. Please check recent reviews to determine if water flow is sufficient or not. Experience is entirely subjective to water flow and weather
The Shettihalli Rosary Church, a Gothic structure constructed by French missionaries during the 1860s, can be found in a picturesque waterside location. Road access is decent; however, some sections of the road are uneven and require parking one's vehicle on the side of the road and walking for roughly five minutes to reach the destination. The best time to visit is in the evening when you can enjoy stunning sunset views and refreshing breeze.
Since it is not a proper commercialized tourist spot, the road reaches around 300m away from the spot. From there, you can take your vehicle off-road or walk. There aren't much things to see inside or out, the church itself is a treat to the eyes.
Recommended timing: Mornings or evenings
There are no shops close by except maybe one or two sugarcane juice carts.

Road connectivity is good, roads are not too good there are some patched,
once you reach there You have to park your vehicle on the road and have to walk for 5 minutes to reach the destination
Try to visit during the evening, you can see the colorful sky and feel the cool wind.
There is not much to see but a good place to take some photos.
Usually fishermen come there to ask for a coracle ride for 100 or 150 rps, i prefer to avoid that, because they are not permitted to take you on the coracle as well there is no life jackets, they come there to make some small money but be cautious about what you choose, I'm writing this because I have took that ride for 150 rsp but didn't felt safe

It's a Gothic church in ruins frequented by mostly photographer community. The construction of the dam and reservoir makes it unique with the surrounding areas (and also the church in rains) under water. You can take a detour from Hassan and visit it on the way to other parts of Karnataka. Will not recommend it as main attraction . Looks better in pictures than actual (Alas it's a prey to those lovebirds with an innate zeal of proclamation and no sense of heritage or architecture). Good for testing your framing skills though.

Nice place to visit once. Good to visit during the afternoon and early evening time. Might get spooky during the late hours. No houses or colonies near the location. Seems to be a place to wonder about its origin, civilization and the history around it.
There are few vendors, who sell water, juice and snacks in portable vehicles. Saw a party having their pre Wedding shoot.
Can go there by car and bike. No tickets necessary. Maybe they should recognise it as a tourist spot and maintain it.
It's just a beautiful wreck which is not monitored by authorities and is abandoned to go unnoticed by the majority.

Ample car parking space. Small shop is also available for water and cold drinks but I recommend take your snacks and drinks along with you.
Well connected to road vehicles go right next to this place. No tickets required.
Can see lot of plastic bottles and covers thrown out. Please avoid dumping waste here when you visit.

Beautiful photogenic place situated at the backwater of Hemavathi reservoir. The road leading to the place is not in good shape. So drive carefully. When the Hemavathi reservoir is full, the church gets submerged in water and will not be accessible. The best time to visit would be when the water just starts receding, it provides a wonderful backdrop to the church.

Shettihalli Church is located 200km from Bengaluru in Hassan Karnataka. Built in the 1860s by the French missionaries in India, the church is a magnificent structure of Gothic Architecture. After the construction of the Hemavati Dam and Reservoir in 1960 the church was Submerged under water due to the dam, It has since then become a famous tourist spot where people flock to see the half submerged church during monsoon. It is also known as The Submerged Church and The Floating Church.. These ruins are best visited once during the dry season and again during the monsoons. Its a great site for a photo-op.. ⛪✨

If you are planning an sakleshpura trip, this is a must visit place. If you are visiting this place during the rainy season then you can see this church submerged but if you visit this place during summer you can go inside the church and enjoy the place but the worst part is no maintenance here people come and throw all possible things. And there is one more hidden temple in this place and is not visible to the naked eye, if you are carrying a binocular then if you view the point towards the dam you can sear the top part of the temple tower and again it can be seen only during summer.

No one says you are in Karnataka. Just beautiful Gothic charm Despite the decay, the church exudes a sense of history and mystery that is truly mesmerizing. It's a place where time seems to stand still, inviting contemplation and reflection amidst its fading grandeur.

Ruins of an old church. Large parts of the structure have collapsed due to constant flooding and no maintenance and many of the walls are defaced by visitors. However it's still nice to visit. You can ride all the way up to the church on cars or bikes. There's ample parking. When the water levels are down, you can even ride into the church ruins. There is also a nice view from the bridge across the reservoir. The approach roads from Hassan highway are scenic, but pass through villages, so you need to ride carefully. No stalls available near the spot, so need to bring sufficient water along

It's a nice place to visit if you are nearby or visiting areas around. It is a remote location so don't expect any shops or other amenities in the near vicinity. You can easily spend 2-3 hrs looking around and appreciating the beauty of ruins/remains of this ancient structure. And can spend some time near the lake shore. It has some excellent silhouettes and will definitely be intriguing for the photographers as it provides a perfect backdrop for photoshoots. Also roads leading to this place are well maintained so shouldn't be a problem reaching there. Try to visit in the early morning or evening as sunsets and sunrises are definitely something you would love to watch.
Would have given 5 stars if it could be a little cleaner or maintained.

Came here for Bike Ride.
Over all journey was excellent, once we enter from main road to this church village road, we don't get any shops for snacks or other. Recommending to buy water and snacks in advance. Go to this place, enjoy bird sound and never throw any waste in the spot.

Shettihalli Rosary Church – Shot on Samsung
This is one of those very rare French Gothic architecture that we can get to see in Karnataka, A fascinating ruin, a romantic shoot location for a few while for some localites of Hassan do believe it to be still haunted! Haha.. Built by French Missionaries in 1860s was unfortunately submerged with the construction of Hemavati Dam & Reservoir.
Bangalore – Hassan road is a feast to ride on, it’s about 25kms from Hassan & once you deviate from NH 75 you shall enter narrow country roads which are pretty well maintained & it’s a short ride of 20mins or lesser before you reach the backwaters to this so called haunted yet enigmatic ruins.
Have fun & ride safe comrades..

This church deserves to be one of the top tourist spots in Karnataka. The church though in ruins look very majestic. Just like the historic ruins seen abroad. It's an excellent picnic spot as well! The location is very calm and serene. Would recommend to carry drinks/eatables as there are none nearby. Hope this will be preserved by the government.

If you are nearby Hassan or in that way then you might take this decision to visit this place.
Just a relaxing place and nothing much there.
No traces of complete history of the church, infrastructure completely shattered.
One can visit this places two time a year- monsoon and post monsoon.
During monsoon the church will be submerged in water to some extent and post that one can roam around the church.
This church is near a water body and next time to visit is during sunrise or sunset and the view is amazing.
No stalls available, no washroom or anything there.
Good place for photo shoot.

Really nice place and great church ruins. it could be made up really good tourist place! the church is more than 100years old. such structure should be protected and atleast boundary marked so as to not find beer bottles and plastic all around it. A little care from locals, tourist and tourism department can protect the structure and nature around it. Very peaceful location.

No words can describe the beauty, magnificence and sheer craftsmanship of this temple. Whatever you say falls short to the beauty that you witness here.
You should definitely visit this place if you haven’t already. Just look at the work here and you will be left baffled. What they did 1100 years ago, we cannot achieve it today even with the all the machinery that is present today.
The boldness, the imagination, the intricacy, the efforts that the sculptors of that era have showcased here is inexplicable.
Very easy to locate, it has a huge parking space available. Opens at sunrise around 6:30am and closes at 6:30 in the evening. There is no entry ticket. You can just enter the temple and enjoy the art.
There are guides available for 500₹. They will tell you of some of the important artworks there and legends behind those.
Highly recommended. Please do visit this temple to get amazed by our heritage and culture.
It is situated at a distance of 17 km from Belur.

There is a Shiva lingam inside the temple and it's still active.. there is no entry fee, and the place is well maintained with huge trees and lawn. You can spend atleast one hour looking at the temple or you can hire a guide and know about the history of the place in detail. You need to remove your footwear while entering the temple premises and there is a footwear stand and they collect rs.5 per pair. Try to visit in early morning or evening otherwise it'll be hot in the noon and can't walk with bear foot. There is a small museum inside. The Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebidu, Karnataka, India, is a mesmerizing masterpiece of ancient Indian architecture. Constructed during the 12th century under the Hoysala Empire, this temple is a testament to the architectural brilliance of that era.
The Hoysaleswara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu and stands as an outstanding example of Hoysala architecture, characterized by its intricate stone carvings. The temple complex comprises two shrines, one for each deity, and is surrounded by a large courtyard.
The exterior of the temple is adorned with an astounding array of finely detailed sculptures. These intricate carvings depict scenes from Hindu mythology, stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, divine beings, animals, and intricate floral motifs. The level of detail is breathtaking, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship and artistry of the Hoysala artisans.
One of the remarkable features of this temple is the lathe-turned, star-shaped pillars. These pillars are known for their precision and elegance, with each one boasting unique carvings that are remarkably well-preserved despite the passage of centuries.
The temple's architecture follows a trikuta (triple shrine) plan with intricately carved shikharas (spires) on top of each shrine. The intricate design and careful symmetry of the temple are awe-inspiring.
Intricacy and artistry are not limited to the exterior; the interior of the temple is equally impressive. The hall leading to the sanctum sanctorum is adorned with ornate pillars and finely carved ceilings, creating an otherworldly ambiance.
The Hoysaleswara Temple stands as a living museum of ancient Indian architecture and art. Its detailed carvings, symmetrical design, and overall grandeur make it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, art aficionados, and spiritual seekers. A visit to this temple is a journey back in time and a remarkable experience that leaves visitors in awe of the architectural genius of the Hoysala dynasty.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site the the temple is well deserving. It was amazing to witness the creation and its sculptures so closely. Breathtaking experience and worth visiting if you have a couple of hours to spare. Although, it is suggested that the heritage site should be preserved and cared for as well as one would expect it to be, which is currently lacking.
Wonderla Amusement Park, Bengaluru is a popular destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. The highlight of the park is its unique reverse looping roller coaster, a one-of-a-kind attraction in India. In addition to the adrenaline-pumping activities, visitors can also enjoy musical fountain shows, laser lights, and a VR experience.
Amazing place. You can't have any regrets whatsoever if you visit this place. We stayed in the in premise resort for 2 nights. Seemed 2 days weren't enough to explore the entire park. However, if you take fast track tickets, you can complete all the rides in 2 days for sure. Rides are awesome, safety measures adequately followed, sufficient and courteous manpower everywhere. The park has lockers, food courts, restaurants, stalls, music, petty shopping and few more amenities apart from rides. Every facility/feature is useful. The resort is fully loaded too... Kids room, Gym, activity room, bar, restaurant, swimming pool, banquets, business room, huge parking, etc etc... You name it and the resort has it. The best part is regarding the view of the park from the resort rooms at night with all the lightning. To add to the fun, it rained everyday and we enjoyed the rides while it was raining. Not suitable for elderly people or for kids younger than 6 years. In totality, a place that must be visited once in your lifetime..

The park is really nice with a lot of rides be it for the water park or the amusement park. For all the blood rush that you want, there are great rides to make your time worthwhile. There are lot of food places in here. Food might not be that great but quite doable. Weekends are quite busy so head over on weekdays if possible. If on weekends, try to complete the water rides first and then the land rides as the crowd shifts the other way.

We went on a Wednesday, a normal working day so that we could beat the weekend frenzy and it was worth it. There was little to no waiting time for all the rides, including the high thrill ones which are usually of more demand.
There is no need to buy a fast track ticket for weekdays as it is just a waste of money but it is highly recommended that you buy the tickets online, giving you a minimum 10% discount. It is also advisable to buy the meal coupons before hand but it is up to you.
Please keep a set of synthetic/ polyester clothes for water rides as Cotton based clothes are not allowed in the water. The staff is also very generous and the changing rooms+ washrooms are very well maintained.

An amazing place with ample numbers of fun rides. The best part of it is the water rides like the lazy pool; the wave river; and few others.
If you are going there you definitely shouldn't miss the rain disco which is open only till 5:30.
You can enjoy visit the rides as many number of time as you wish just that on weekends it's overcrowded so the waiting time is extremely long. So it is far better if you could go there on some week days if you are free. On weekends you have to be there by 10:3/11 or else might not be able to take all the rides.
There are few rides like recoil which might take you on a good toss so be careful with it. But even if you skip some of the daring and dangerous rides, yet the place is worth the visit because of the extremely good water rides. You can spend the entire day only on the water rides.

Queue on all the rides are long so I recommend to get fast track ticket to avoid long wait for the rides and save time. Both dry and wet rides are accessible with the same ticket. Its big park so covering everything in 1 day is not sufficient with the amount of crowd gathering there. So fast track ticket is highly recommended. The swimming costumes is sold near the park and it is recommended to take buy it from there as it will be cheaper. The musical fountain show is not so good and can be skipped if you have seen anything like that before. Overall great place to spent a day with friends or family.

➡️Best time to go is on Wednesdays and Thursdays, because will be some less crowd compared to weekends. During weekends there is a huge crowd at every ride.
➡️ Don't miss wave pool and Rain dance.
➡️ Both in wave pool and Rain dance boys will be seperated to another side if there is no women partner to him.

This was the one the best water park you can visit in India.
I went on Christmas day. As expected it was bit crowded on that day. There was huge queue for each ride and did not get chance to ride all of them.
My suggestion would be to go on weekdays and even if you planning to go on weekends try to enjoy water ride first and in the noon try dry rides and enjoy the hustle in the evening.
Few mandatory things to carry
1. Towel & Undergarments
2. Synthetic Cloth for Water Park (they also sell starting 150 for pant and t shirt)
3. Sunscreen & Make-up
Do not carry food they migh not allow.
All the common packet items are available to eat and drink like chips, juice & soft drinks.
They are many veg and non veg restaurant inside the park.
Do not forget to go to top floor and enjoy big wheel.
Attaching some pics for your reference.

You don’t have to wait in insanely long queues on fast track. And you don’t have to miss on some rides. You will get enough time to complete all the rides and with more time to spare.
PS:- don’t miss the roller coaster ride. It is by far the best ride here.

Important thing to note, if you are planning to go during summers and if it’s a weekend, I highly recommend you to take the fast track tickets. It is double the amount compared to normal tickets, but trust me it’s worth it.
You don’t have to wait in insanely long queues on fast track. And you don’t have to miss on some rides. You will get enough time to complete all the rides and with more time to spare.
PS:- don’t miss the roller coaster ride. It is by far the best ride here.
Enjoy! 😎

I had an amazing experience there! The rides were so thrilling and exhilarating. I couldn't get enough of the water slides and roller coasters. The park was beautifully maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I had a blast with my friends, laughing and screaming on all the rides. The food options were great too, with a wide variety of delicious snacks and treats. Overall, it was a day filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. I would definitely recommend Wonderla to anyone looking for an exciting and enjoyable day out! 😄🎢🎡

Great place for a family fun. Lots of rides for all ages. To maximize the fun reach early so that you can do most of the rides. Waiting time can vary depending upon the crowd and holiday season. Water park was good and well maintained. Staff were also quite helpful. The park is also well maintained.
Would definitely want to go back again for another round of rides that i missed. 😁

*In Wonderla Theme Park At we get an amazing experience. This was located in Bangalore. It is a lot of fun and thrilling experience. So if you go with family, choose weekdays because it will be better to go with friends. Couples choose weekends because it will be more fun.
*Then, coming to the rules. If you're going to attend water rides, you should definitely wear a swimsuit and the material should be made of nylon or polyester or otherwise. Before entering, you can buy these clothes in the wonderful shops on the roads or in theme parks.
*If you're a student, while booking a ticket, get 20%off. Moreover, there was a Fastrack, which means you can get onto each ride more quickly, but it was double the amount.
* provided storage and the cost was 350rs, while returning the key they would refund 100rs.
*Coming in the morning, 10 AM, the amusement park will open and in the evening, 6.30 PM, they will close all the rides. Visit this place and get ready for the fun and more thrill😊...

A wonderful spot to spent with family and friends. Have both normal rides and extremely scary ones. So please read the instructions before entering each ride.
Food is a little bit expensive inside. And we can't bring food from outside. Other than that a really fun spot. Really loved it.

Amusement park and water park are best, went on a busy day so waiting time was little longer, large group of people will enjoy to the fullest.
Food inside is not charged exorbitant. It's pretty much reasonable.

I recently visited Wonderla with my friends, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much from an amusement park. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the incredible experience it offered! Despite the entry ticket being priced at 1300 per head, it was completely worth it. From 11 in the morning until 5 in the evening, we were thoroughly engaged in a wide array of thrilling activities. I highly recommend Wonderla for anyone looking to have a blast with friends and family. The water and dry games were absolutely fantastic, and it was a day filled with unforgettable memories.
While the park itself exceeded my expectations, I would caution against shopping or dining there, as the prices are quite steep. However, when it comes to fun and excitement, Wonderla delivers beyond compare. I can't wait to visit again and relive the excitement!

Soaring mountain peak known for its temples, sacred sculptures & sweeping views.
Moderate to difficult trek. You might feel exhausted during the trek. But you will experience its worthiness when you reach the peak. Morning 6 to 10 is the best time to trek and see some foggy views. (Visited in july)
Trek time: 1:15 hr
Best time to visit: 6AM to 10AM
Please don’t throw plastic. Use dustbins.

It's a Religious place more than trekking.
Trekking length and difficulty is good but crowded.
Avoid going there in January for trekking because of crowd.
View is great from the top.
There are 4-5 temple in trek.
Very high Religious significance of that place arround locals.

One of the best Trekking spot for mid-level trekkers. Never forget to take a stick with you to keep away monkeys.
Final peak trek is a bit difficult because of steep and very narrow steps. If you have any back bag or food item then, beware of moneks they ll come anytime to pickup.
There are shops to have snacks and buy drinking water.
Binny gan — Google review
Suitable trekking spot for beginners, one can easily get to the peak around 60 minutes. Be careful about the monkeys around, it’ll always try to snatch your backpack looking for food. If possible, try not to carry any backpacks, as it is food stalls are available at various check points through the ascend.

Nice hill, with intermediate stops in between. The uphill time is 3 hours and the downhill time is 1.5 hours approx. There are enough refreshment shops available till the mid-hill, and one shop at the top. But the trekking is strenuous during summer, unless started very early in the morning. There are good village type hotels at the entrance.

Overall: Fantastic and very much exciting trek.
Difficulty:Between High to Very High. Not recommend for kids, senior citizens and people with knee problems. Wear trek pants or half pant(recommend for trek) so that your knees are well supported.
A proper trek shoe is must along with other accessories such as sun glasses and hat. You can’t manage an umbrella there as you have to climb by holding the railings. Be careful of monkeys and they are the most smartest creature you will find there. They put hand inside your pocket and take out the mobile, wallet, etc. Even they open the backpack zips to check.
Each one would need 2 to 3 ltrs of water. Not to worry as you have plenty local shops up to the top who supplies all needed item to hydrate your self.It is advisable to carry one bottle of water always. If you are starting early, you wouldn’t find many shops open, so have back up plan.
Start time-I recommend you start climbing early by 6-7AM. You should be back by 11AM. Wear you shoes while you start entering the temple as the steps starts from there and you have to take a diversion after climbing 100 steps. It is allowed up to go to the point and take left from there. Else again you have to come down to take the shoes.
Pulak Das — Google review
Awesome trekking place near bangalore, the climb across different levels of the hill is exciting and the surrounding scenery is breath taking. The trail is straightforward and well marked with proper steps. The last stretch climb is a little steep but rails are in place and its not too difficult.
Parking near the temple can be a hassle as the day progresses but there is ample parking space nearby where you can park and walk back. Vendors with food stall are available along the trek route as the day progresses but not if you start very early in the morning, but atleast on the way back you will have something to drink or munch on. At the very top, monkeys are a menace, dont leave anything out or in their eyesight or it will disappear. I saw 2 folks lose their bags as the monkeys carried them away.
Overall its a good and enjoyable trek that can be enjoyed by all age groups. Would suggest to avoid during summers as it can get really hot, ideal time would be after monsoons when the landscape is lush green.

I was lucky to be submerged in fog even at 12 PM. Such a lovely place. There's a stretch where the stairs are too steep and be careful around the monkeys if you've any eatables or bag.

This was my first trekking experience ,the first half of the track was easy but the second half was bit challenging for me.
If you are nature lover and also love to do something challenging then this place is for you .

Fantastic place to visit and spend some good time. Trekking is not that hard. Try to reach the place as early as possible to experience awesome views on top of the hill. And please maintain cleanliness. 🙏🏾 I saw there is so much garbage thrown here & there which literally killed beauty of this place.
Note: Beware of monkey’s. :)

Complete the trek challenging yourself. Do not litter. Trek level is moderate.
Start as early as possible to avoid burning sun.
Park vehicles in reserved parking to avoid blocking roads or getting damaged to your vehicles.
Ample parking space is available and it leads to temple entrance.

Excellent trek just outside Bangalore. Awesome view during monsoons...though it was very breezy ..but thoroughly enjoyed the solo trek...thankfully it didn't rain that time.
Monkeys were in abundance and few of the supporting rails are broken so be aware of monkeys snatching any items resembling food...n be careful esp after mid point as slope gets steeper.

Moderate Trek, Good grip shoes are a must.
Carry a selfie stick or a regular stick to save yourself from monkeys.
They always try to snatch your bags.
If you are lucky you can have annaprasadam at temple.

Best place for one day trekking from Bangalore... It will take upto 2 - 2½ hrs to claim the mountain... 1 hr for comeback
Only when you have 20% to go to the top of the hill will you feel a little strained
You can enjoy it if you are going with frds...
Warning :
1. water bottle is mandatory.. else there you can buy a little huge amount
2. Be careful from monkeys... Don't show there that you are a pet lover... Some of them lost their mobile phone or bag backs... Don't keep anything in your shirt pocket

Heres my complete experience today on a saturday hope it helps to guide. It was a wonderful trek worth it the top view, took around 2 hours to climb and much faster while descending back down 1hr 45 around. Try to start the trek accordingly so you finish it and are back down by 5pm before dark and atleast enjoy good 20mins on the peak. The trek is quite simple easy, could see many grandmas reaching the very top you just need to have the zealth to reach the top and om namashivaya, you'll reach there. Only one part will slow you down the steep ascend with small steps just watch out not to slip. Good thing there are rails for support through out the trek making it better and safer. On the note monkeys here are clever but not mad attackers they're fearless and will try to snatch covers away from you even climb on you to inspect your bags for food so yeah don't be scared and never be dumb to hit them try to tackle. Stick with a group or best carry a water bottle and ditch the bags you'll find snack shops throughout the trek (prices are slightly higher). The top of the very mountain has a superb view, 2 temples and two stambas one big nandi. Some have a belief if you through a coin and it lands right on top of the stamba your wish may come TRUE check out the video. There is a spot on peak behind temple that is much more peaceful most people miss it out check out the pic and video. Spend quality time on top enjoy and be back before dark I just laid down on the top. I find the trek is worth the top view and the journey to the peak itself.
Decide and becareful cautious on whether or not to trek on rainy days dunno hows its on rainy days safe or not to trek. It's not challenging like savanadurga you can make it but always look into your current situation you may win a battle if not be back strong to win it again. It's easy trek only bro don't worry. Check them pics and videos out. If your planning to visit just go it's nice.

A great place for 1 day hike. Has stairs all the way. Includes continuous climbing but has railings which help. The last stretch is quite testing and not for the fainthearted. During summer, recommended to visit in the early hours
At the entrance, you can hire a good guide who will explain the history -- highly recommended.
You will have to pay entry fee of rs20 per person. This has been made online by scanning a QR code and then filling the form.
There are guards who will assist you in this.
Cafeteria is available inside for snacks and cooling off the heat with cold water or juice or butter milk 🥛
Do note: flying drone is restricted here.
They will not allow you to carry it inside.

Amazing place. Can spend a whole day here if you are interested in exploring each and every bit of the cave.
Most places have a brief information board next to it. Having a guide is subjective. He will tell you a few more points and significances which isn't there at the display board. Climbing to the top of the rock is not a very easy task, can go at your own risk. View from top is amazing!
Entry ticket ₹25 can be purchased at entry gates.
Place is clean and we'll maintained.

Photography lovers will love this place. Adding some pics below.
It's marvelous to see how they build the walls with such big rocks, which are aligned beautifully. It has some 7 big doors kinda entry.
I guess, the place looks more beautiful in a cloudy day than a rainy one.. we can spend 2-3 hours here and definitely a good walking exercise 😀
It gets crowded after 10-11 AM. Suggest to enter in the morning..
parking is free on the roadside..
There are some local vendors if need any snacks or drinks. Mayura would be the only option if need a proper meals..
Overall great experience.

Beautiful fort maintained normally but efforts should be taken to make it far better. The way to fort is so narrow to reach and parking is small. Weekdays are mostly free while comparing to weekends it’s almost little crowded. You can opt for guide with multilingual skills and may charge you around 200-1000 it’s not a fixed one as the trust has not taken any actions. It takes approximately 1-4hours to explore the entire fort, it’s vastly spread with more details. Best for students to explore and experience the old civilisation. There are proper dustbins placed in all places where we can keep the fort near and clean. Also fresh refrigerated water dispenser in most places and toilet facilities for both genders. A must visit place for people who wants to explore new places and learn history of India.

The Lepakshi Nandi temple features a striking granite sculpture of Nandi, the sacred bull of Lord Shiva. It's located two hours from Bangalore and is best visited during the day due to safety concerns at night. The road leading to the temple is well-maintained and free of potholes. Visitors can explore the open park-like setting beyond 6pm but should refrain from climbing on the statue.
Simply awesome...one of the largest monolithic , single stone Nandi in india....this is about 400m from the Lepakshi veerabhadra temple ...it supposedly looks straight at the 7 hooded serpent in the temple who guards the shiv ling...a must visit place just for the magnanimity of the architecture

This is a good place to visit, especially for those from Bangalore since it is hardly 2 hour journey (including traffic/rainy weather). Best way to plan is for a morning to afternoon visit and return before it gets dark. The route is not safe during nights especially when we want to drive a car at high speeds. The roads are well maintained though and we saw almost no potholes along the lepakshi road from the big arc. This bull statue is open beyond 6pm as it is an open place. It feels more like a park and many people were trying to climb it.

The temple is very beautiful. The temple is around 500 years old and is a pure ancient architectural beauty. The place is just 2 hours drive away from Bangalore. We can very well make a one day plan to this place and return by afternoon if we start by morning 8. There is a garuda statue at the entrance. But were not allowed nearby for reasons unknown even after paying them to see the place. The parking and restrooms are pricey. 10 Rs. Just to enter the toilet irrespective of what you do inside. There is enough parking space. Would have been better if the management improve the temple instead of being money minded.

The Lepakshi Nandi, a monolithic bull statue, stands as an iconic symbol of artistic finesse and cultural significance in India. Carved from a single granite rock, it resides in the town of Lepakshi in Andhra Pradesh. This massive sculpture measures about 4.5 meters in height and 8.23 meters in length, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and detailing.
Believed to represent the vehicle (vahana) of Lord Shiva, the Nandi statue is adorned with intricate carvings, displaying various mythological motifs and ornate designs. Its posture exudes a sense of grandeur and devotion, capturing the essence of Hindu mythology.
Legend has it that the statue was constructed during the Vijayanagara Empire's reign in the 16th century. Apart from its religious significance, the Lepakshi Nandi serves as a testament to the architectural brilliance of that era.
Pilgrims, history enthusiasts, and art connoisseurs flock to witness this marvel, appreciating not just its size but also the cultural heritage it embodies. The Lepakshi Nandi remains a revered and awe-inspiring testament to India's rich artistic and religious legacy.

This is well worth a trip. The temple itself is beautiful and well cared for, but there are also plenty of souvenir stalls outside. Don’t miss the biggest Nandi (bull) on the way in and the new bird perched on the hilltop. The story behind the temple is fascinating and you can see the footprint left by the goddess - or made by something else… it is beautiful and you could happily spend a couple of hours in the area.

One of the biggest nadi statute and this one is quite different one, as we can see face is slightly upwards due to a sense of Maga Shiva linga in front of it.
This is located right next to main road which is goes towards lepakshi town/village and around 300-400 away from the main temple.
Basic amenities are present inside premises like drinking water , restrooms and small green garden and amole seating benches.
People can sit here and enjoy viewing the statue after coming from temple and near by jatayu park.

At a distance of 500 m from Lepakshi Bus Stand and 500 m from Sri Veerabhadra Temple (Lepakshi Temple), Lepakshi Nandi (Bull) is one of the main attractions in Lepakshi and a well-known landmark for the tourism of Lepakshi. It was built during Vijayanagara period when the main Veerabhadra Temple was built.
The Lepakshi Nandi is made out of single granite. The monolithic Nandi sculpture is said to be the second largest monolithic structure in India after Gomateshwara in Shravanabelagola. It is 20 feet in height and 30 feet in length. The Nandi statue is decorated with a necklace, muvvalahara, a bell chain with small horns.
It is noticeable that the head of the bull is held aloft at a higher angle than usual. In addition, the expression of submission, which is typical of Nandi before Shiva, is not seen in the statue here.
This big granite bull is situated on the main road beside AP Tourism Haritha resort. It has been positioned such that it faces the 18 ft Nagalinga in Veerabhadra Temple Complex.

Beautiful temple with awesome architecture. A must visit place. Lepakshi main temple is entirely made of stone which is worth a visit. It has one hanging pillar. All the idols are made of curved stone. But avoid the afternoon time as it is very hot.

Beautiful place. One must visit if you are interested in ancient architectures and sculptures. You'll find good / decent restaurants on highway. But there aren't any good restaurants off the highway. At least I didn't find any.

This old temple is inside a village and a divine representation of Indian culture, religious values and mythological history. A beautiful place to spend a couple of hrs. The stone carved structures and pillars are admirable. The only point of resentment is the paintings on ceilings are being worn out by time which should be preserved and restored. The govt should maintain the temple and cleanliness. It's not that we get to see such valuable pieces of our history often.

Neatly maintained Nandi temple next to the road. A parking facility is available right in front but the reason for existence is not known. Monolithic structure and amazing planning the detail is so clean. Salute the sculptor who enabled carving this out.

The Lepakshi Nandi statue is truly mesmerizing. Carved from a single stone, it's a magnificent piece of ancient art. The intricate details and serene expression make it a must-see. A symbol of devotion and beauty, it's a captivating sight that leaves a lasting impression.

Nandi statue It is one of the largest single stone Nandi figure in India and it is said to be that it is largest of its kind in India. It is just 0.5kms from Lepakshi main shrine. Perfect spot for one day trip for Bangaloreans. Summer time is not recommended since it will be too humid.

This is easily visible before you visit the main temple..either you can visit before the temple visit or post temple visits.. parking is mostly on the side of the roads.

In the enchanting town of Lepakshi, where every stone whispers tales of history and devotion, stands the awe-inspiring Monolithic Nandi Statue—a colossal masterpiece that beckons visitors into the heart of artistic brilliance and spiritual grandeur.
Situated a mere 200 meters away from the temple, this gigantic statue of Nandi, affectionately known as Basavanna, commands attention with its regal presence. The seated bull, adorned with a resplendent necklace and a garland of bells, gazes with unwavering devotion towards the Nagalingeshwara sculpture inside the temple, creating a sacred connection between the divine entities.
What sets this statue apart is its sheer scale—standing tall at a height of 15 feet and stretching an impressive 27 feet in length, it proudly claims its status as the largest monolithic stone Nandi statue in the country. As sunlight dances upon its exquisitely carved form, the Nandi exudes a timeless charm, inviting visitors to witness the perfect harmony of nature's canvas and human craftsmanship.

The perfectly-proportioned body, the intricately carved ornaments, and the smooth contours tell a story of skilled artisans who breathed life into stone. As tourists stand in awe before this colossal creature, it becomes more than just a sculpture; it becomes a living testament to the artistic prowess and devotion that define Lepakshi's cultural heritage.
Photographers and art enthusiasts alike find solace in capturing the essence of this monolithic marvel. The interplay of light and shadow on the Nandi's finely crafted features creates a visual symphony, offering a moment frozen in time that transcends the boundaries of history and art.

Nice calm place where you can relax your mind. Even you are not a follower of Baba, you will feel good about him and his works after you visit this place. He had done a lot of good works to the people in Andra Pradesh. Probably this is the most peaceful place I have visited in Andra Pradesh.
Foods and accommodations are really cheap inside. Devotees and the working staff are really friendly. Not recommended for a quick visit. Better stay for few days and relax your mind.
Negative: Most of the washrooms were not properly maintained. Some says they were better when Baba was there.

If one is travelling from Banglore towards Hydrabad after almost 100 kms towards Hydrabad, the signage takes one to this magnificent temple & Samadi Palace of SatSaiBaba Ji. After covering 45 kms of neatly mettled road one reaches SatSai District as it’s called. With multi floral natural decoration on both sides of the road it’s a very serene & peaceful temple Ashrama. For rupees 15 & rupees two one can have a full meal with tea. The temple has a huge number of volunteers to guide the new entrants. One can also book a stay within the temple premises. During noon the main shrine remains closed and only opens in afternoon. So one needs to plan accordingly. If one is later headed to Hydrabad there is an alternate shorter route via Anantpur.

Belum Caves, located on the Indian subcontinent, offers a remarkable experience with its vast underground cave system adorned with geological formations and artificial lighting. The site boasts the largest and longest cave system open to the public in India, featuring long passages, galleries and spacious caverns that occasionally contain fresh water. Visitors are advised to bring a torch or headlamp for better visibility as sticky mud may cause footwear loss. Additionally, one should carry water bottles due to stuffiness inside causing excessive sweating.
A very well maintained cave. It has sufficient lighting and oxygen inside and has directions that are clear so that one doesn't get lost inside the cave. Has ventilation ducts at few places to keep the air circulation at a good pace. The place is very neatly maintained and no plastic waste was found inside the cave. The formation of the rocks and everything looks so good and interesting if one is willing to explore and learn more about it. A good place to play scary house with your friends of course :) Important to take water bottles before going in as one would sweat a lot and feel thirsty in their journey. All in all a good place to visit to spend some quality time.

People who love adventures and rock formations, would certainly love to go to this place. Such a natural beauty. The cave is so deep, wide and long. It absolutely amazes you at every part with its deep trenches. There are places within the cave which are so narrow and the rocks are porous as the water keeps dripping through these rocks.
Please make sure to have nice footwear (sandals or gum boots) as you have grip and not hurt your feet. The whole tour would approx take 2 hours. You'll drain all your energy by the time you are back as the terrain is tough, long and, very suffocating. You end up profusely sweating. Carry some energy drinks and food to keep yourself hydrated and keep your energy levels high.
The sad part is about the maintenance by the governments. Though we have blowers and lights inside the cave, most of them are out of order and not functional which makes the journey tiring.

This is a natural cave and opened for the public in 2003.
Before going to this cave:
must carry an adequate water bottle. in the cave there is a lot of humidity so wear some light clothes and also for footwear, must have anti skid like shoes as there is some slippery clay like miss are present in the track.
there is a very small waterfall present in the cave. Must visit

Superb experience. The Buddha statue outside the cave is really calming. The walk inside is out of the world. Really scary in few places. Be careful with your footwear as few places the mud is really sticky and many have lost their footwear. Carry a torch or headlamp for better visibility. There are lights inside. Carry a water bottle as it gets stuffy inside and you sweat a lot.

Ancient and undiscovered place. Very magical feeling once you go more and more inside. The air vents were not working at some places. Wearing shoes is advised as the pavement is uneven. Take your own water bottle and don't leave empty bottles. Basic Telugu if you can read it'll be helpful although all the exit are written in English. l

Underground caves miles and miles long !
Amazing shapes and structures formed naturally over thousands of years by erosion, deposition, transfer of minerals by water, etc.
A must-visit place for many reasons, but one is rarity.
To make the best of your visit, be sure to take a very powerful torch because your phone LEDs are insufficient to see the details.
And wear well fitting shoes, because slippers/sandals are very dangerous for the terrain.
Carefully note or photograph every junction you pass, most have no English signs, and you can't phone for help as there is insufficient signal underground.
Not an enjoyable or safe place for naughty children or aged people though.

We traveled to Belum caves on a Saturday afternoon. The place does get a lot of tourists as it was quite busy Saturday.
The ticket is priced at ₹70 adults and ₹50 kids. They were surprisingly only accepting cash payment which is quite inconvenient, they should start card payments/UPI.
The caves are well maintained, have good air ventilation, well placed signs to follow. I wish the AP government authorities would keep dustbins inside the caves as people do carry water bottles and tend to throw them randomly. Do carry water bottles if possible it can can get quite humid and sweaty inside.
Belum caves are 3229m long and are the second largest natural caves in Indian subcontinent. Definitely recommend visiting it.
Improvement-
* Even though it’s mentioned Staircase is damaged people were still climbing on it. Please do fix the staircase as it’s not safe.
*Washrooms are are in a pitiable state! Requesting the authorities to take action and upgrade the facilities.
*Beautification of the overall place can be done too.
*Besides the caves the place was looking quite dull and make it more scenic with plants and good facilities.
* need good restaurants facilities also

Plus points : A magnificent creation of Nature worth visiting . The stalactites , stalagmites, courses and caverns were created over a period of millions of years , by an ancient flow of water through limestone and quartz . This is the second largest subterranean cave system in India .
Depth goes from 80ft to 120 ft . Air vents are provided at regular intervals . Photography is allowed .
Minus points : Being a Protected Monument under care of the State Government , more thought and sensitivity should have gone into its maintenance .
The garish colored lights are an eyesore marring the natural beauty of the rocks . The spiral stairway to get to the low point is shaky . Names of caves and Exit signs are painted directly on cave walls instead of on boards .
Fact file :
Entrance ticket : Rs70 per adult . Carpark :Rs20
Guides ( Telugu,Hindi,English) available .
Kids playground , basic toilets, a snack kiosk in premises .
Recommended : Carry water . As it gets very humid and sweaty inside, carry a hand towel too. Good walking shoes , to walk on uneven surfaces . Visit during cooler hours of the day and in dry , non-rainy season .
Reportedly, crowded on weekends .
Please do not break off stone bits to carry as souvenir . Please do not scribble/ scratch your initials on those ancient rocks . Please don’t litter . It was painful to see some tourists doing such things , during my visit.
Lets learn to respect shared heritages .

An amazing cave experience. Recommend every visitor traveling to city of Kurnool or Nandyal in State of Andhra Pradesh to take some time out and visit Belum Caves.
An advisory would be to carry Torch-light as there are zones which are very dim lit corners. A to Gaurav Buddhas statue adorns at entrance. The Caves are very well planned and our appreciation to the Team behind the concept and execution too.
The overall maintenance of Caves leaves a lot to be desired. A few zones had no AC and the places were hot and perspiring too. There were broken equipments like AC parts and broken light consoles that were lying in open and had not been moved out.

It was different experience to be in underground caves. Rock formations inside caves are really beautiful. Main drawback was feeling too much hot inside the caves due to more crowd.
