Zoos
Nobbies Centre is a tourist attraction on Phillip Island that contains multimedia displays of wildlife in an extreme continent, Antarctica. The attraction includes a boardwalk with stunning views of coastal scenery as well as a blowhole, which can be experienced during big southern swells.
An incredible spot to check out while on the island. The boardwalk is positioned well and gives you so many great views and a phenomenal sense of scale. Informative placards give you insight into this geographically unique spot. Head there early to avoid the crowds, but definitely don't miss it.

Beautiful scenery. Cold and strong wind. Its one of the best place to see the unimpeded view of ocean. Its a walk you can enjoy on wooded boardwalk looking at the ocean, waves, sky, flying birds, occasional seal, shrubs, man made penguin nests. It’s a power spot!

If you're on Phillip Island, you've gotta hit up The Nobbies. It's one of the coolest places to check out nature! Imagine standing on a boardwalk with the ocean on one side and these epic cliffs on the other. And get this—there are actual penguins and seals that hang out nearby! Perfect for some cute pics or even a school project on wildlife. It's a super chill place to just take in the views and relax. Make sure to bring a jacket though, it can get a bit windy. Totally a 5-star spot!

A very scenic place! You must visit to experience it. The beautiful coastal view. The many many seagulls. The boardwalk. And so on. Btw, wear a windbreaker as the wind is quite strong. 👍👍👍

The centre was closed when I first came on evening of 7 Mar 24. I returned the next morning (8 Mar) after it was opened. Exhibits present Antarctica facts and stuff of previous explorations there. There's a giftshop and cafe, the cafe with a great view of the nobbies. Ordered a burger, which was great.

This is a beautiful lookout with breathtaking views. There are so many locations to take photos as much as you want. There are several types of birds, flowers, and the beach scenes are awesome. I very much enjoyed the visits. The outside lookout area is free for everyone, and there is a walking path towards the sea, which is so beautiful. If you pay some extra dollars, you could visit the Nobbies Centre.

Awesome views and fantastic walkways in amongst the penguins burrows. A beautiful place for a walk and to take some breathtaking photos of the rugged scenery. There are seals that live on the distant rocks though youll need a good pair of binoculars to see them. The visitor center is excellent with details of the local wildlife and a cafe, and sheltered views for when it gets too windy. An excellent place to visit. Highly recommended.

Do come during sunset where you can have an awesome view of the sea and setting sun, and spend about 30 minutes or so along the boardwalk. There are some interesting information about the place, where you can spend about 45 mins or so in there. Breeze is strong and do bring along a windbreaker even during summer. You can see lots of birds and wildlife. Encouraged to purchase ticket beforehand, online and can consider purchasing the multi attraction tickets should you be going to the penguin parade etc. Tip: plan your trip such that you arrive here before taking the small road to penguin parade which starts after sunset. That small less used road gives you another awesome scenic drive!

One of the most breathtaking spots in Victoria. The Nobbies boardwalk is a must visit spot when you visit Phillip Island. There are no entries or tickets required here. I also like to call it a mini-Great-Ocean-Road as the scene could almost rival that of the twelve apostles, but much closer from Melbourne. The Nobbies centre also as their own cafe which serves good food and coffee.
William Aung — Google review
Enjoyed great food at the Cafe, sitting next to the huge panoramic windows highly recommended. Watching the changing weather, then braving the windy weather, was rewarded by awesome huge waves at the Blowhole. A stroll along the board walk was great and easygoing, some steps in different sections.

Only did the walks outside this time. (Boardwalks)Spectacular views. Loads of Cape Barren Geese - spring is breeding season, so lots of babies too. Drive slowly along these roads! Definitely visit here.

captivating destination along the coastline. Known for its stunning ocean views and diverse marine life, it provides an enriching experience. The educational exhibits enhance understanding of the local environment, making it a worthwhile stop for nature enthusiasts and visitors seeking coastal beauty.

Stunning scenery as you walk along the Broadwalk. Worth a visit. Can do the penguin parade after you finish the Broadwalk. Better still, walk down from the Nobbies to the penguin parade. It is very pleasant and you will see many different animals along the way.
Elaine Quek — Google review
Great views, especially at sunset. The boardwalk is excellent and you can see a few penguins too. Can be crowded but not to the point of being uncomfortably so. A quick heads up that you can’t drive in any later than an hour before sunset but once you’re in you can stay as long as you want.
ryan yang — Google review
Fantastic view. If you're already in the area, it's well worth going. It can get cold down their however, and windy, so make sure you bring something warm to wear. It's only a short walk, but the time well spent comes from deciding to stop and take in the atmosphere around you.

Great experience here. Stopped by before Penguin Parade, glad we did. Unbelievable views of The Nobbies inside and out. And really great food! Excellent fish and local beer. Bonus: the info guy at the Antarctic Journey (terrific experience by the way, not to be missed) gave us the inside scoop on where to sit for the Penguin Parade. Overall excellent time, highly recommend despite being there on a very crowded day.

Amazing place to visit with family and friends. This was my second time here and the view is always breathtaking. You need to buy tickets for the discovery center and recommend buying it in advance.

The views and rock structures were incredible. We loved it. Good to have toilets nearby, though the cafe was out of action the day we were there. The cafe did have great views. Maybe a guide book about Philip Island for sale would be helpful.
Helen Callow — Google review
This was beautiful !!! We brought lunch from home and sat on the benches provided and ate lunch and had fun with seagulls diving for our food. We then did the boardwalk which everyone enjoyed. Very pretty, among nature and its beauty. This is a short walk and worth it. We went on a weekday and it wasn’t busy which we really enjoyed.

Situated on Ventnor Road Summerlands. Lots to see and experience with the Ocean Discovery Centre and miles of board walks on the bluff with views far out to sea. Whales and dolphins have been sighted and a colony of Australian Fur Seals on Seal Rock (better seen through a strong lens). Penguins in their breeding boxes and burrows, multitudes of Terns and Silver Gulls, Cape Barren Gees and the occasional Copperhead snake. View out to Nobbies surrounds is breathtaking. A restaurant and clean toilets available on site. Highly recommend and well worth the trip.
Peter Lindsay — Google review
Can't comment on the centre experience as we only visited here briefly for the views and the wildlife. Plenty of geese freely wandering along the windy entry road. From the walkways we got to see parents feeding their young, penguins taking refuge for the day and amazing views looking out towards Tasmania. We arrived around 9am and by the time we left parking was backed up so recommend going early if possible, you also can't be there too late due to the penguin experience etc.
Allan — Google review
Lots of wind and crowd. Do carry a jacket as it can get chilly. It was fun to watch sea gulls trying to face the wind to carry food for the young ones. We didn’t spot any seals though. Good place to spend sometime before heading for Penguin parade.

Stunning, one of the best places to visit. Board walk is a little shakey, could do with a refresh. Highly recommended view!

The Antarctic centre was closed when Google Maps said it should be open. We drove all the way out and were disappointed. We found the boardwalk though which was beautiful. Some great birdlife around and a peaceful and scenic spot to sit.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Phillip Island Wildlife Park is a 60-acre wildlife park located on Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. It features free-range kangaroos and wallabies, as well as koalas, wombats and birds. The park is home to more than 100 different species of native Australian animals, many of which can be seen interacting with visitors.
Worth every penny spend. Lots of friendly wallabies, kangaroos, emus, ducks , birds roaming around freely. Kids really enjoyed feeding them. Recommended to take some drinks as we would need to walk through lots of trails in the park. Would suggest to pick any days without rains to have a better experience. Koalas were exceptionally active😀 Staff were friendly and suggested to us various options to make the visit worthwhile. Must visit for kids and family to enjoy close encounters with few of Australian animals and birds.
Jibin Joseph — Google review
This is SO worth finding an hour or so to go see and hand feed especially the kangaroos and emus! It's just a delightful place if you enjoy interacting with wildlife. I'm from the US so this was a very rare experience for me. Parking is easy, entrance fee with pellet food is very reasonable. I laughed so much. The emu are big! I was the brave one to put out a handful of feed and they're aggressive but won't hurt you. I loved it! Great separate area for bigger kids. Plenty of other areas for the little ones, too.
Barb U — Google review
While I have mixed feelings about this place, it's still one of my favourite things to do on Phillip Island. Allow a couple of hours to walk around, but if your time is limited then at least visit the paddock where you can feed the emus and red kangaroos. The emus look intimidating from the outside but you should walk in confidently - once you're in there, it should be worth it. There's also a range of other Australian animals around the park, including koalas and Tasmanian devils. The animals seem generally well cared for. That said, it could all be so much better. The whole park needs serious upgrades and remediation. The wetland/lake area in particular looks unnaturally degraded. It's seemed to get worse over the years, and it can't be good for the wellbeing of the grey kangaroos and wallabies that hang out down there. I also find some of the smaller enclosures, especially for birds and reptiles, quite sad. The signage throughout the park is dated and minimal. I'd love to see the park keep the animal interaction that makes it so great, while also being brought up to modern standards, even if it means a price increase and more focus on the close encounters.
Paul Richards — Google review
Great day out for all ages. Wildlife are super tame and able to be hand fed. Please don't chase the animals, they're all beautiful. The reserve is bigger than expected. I'd recommend enclosed shoes. Entry cost is roughly $20/adult, includes a bag of feed. Additional bags can be purchased for $0.50 each. Family pass available for $50, 2 adults abs up to 3 children.

Fantastic day out at the Phillip island wildlife park. We had so much fun. It isn't expensive like the others, you pay to go in & you get two free bags of pellets to feed the kangaroos plus you can buy extras for 50 cents. Great place for a family day out. The little gift shop has some really good Aussie souvenirs that are very reasonably priced. The people there are lovely too.

Love this place!!!! I was amazed by nature and setting of the wildlife park which is different from other places I have been before. Kangaroos are super cute and friendly. They are clean and fluffy too! You don't need to learn boxing before go to meet them. Beware of the ghoose, they are a bit scary but you can calm them down by simply put a handful food on the ground for them (don't throw food on the ground since it's difficult for them to find and eat). Thank you Phillip island wildlife park's staff who take care of these animals and create this fantastic nature experience. 100% go back and recommend to others 🥰💚

Thrilling experience for a visitor . Vast park with lot of scope to walk around and see , go near , touch and even feed wild animals like EMU , Kangaroo. Several species of birds are in closed enclosures worth watching. As expected Koalas were sleeping. Dingo and Tasmanian Devil were in closed enclosures . It’s Kangaroos all the way , very friendly & plenty

This is a good wildlife park. There are kangaroos, emus koalas, Tasmanian devil etc. if you want to feed grey kangaroos you have to walk down hill you will meet them. Ticket is not expensive and including animal food per person that enough to feed them. Kangaroos is not aggressive it is quite kinds. and you also meet wallabies jump around the park.

We have driven past it countless times in my life and I finally decided to pay them a visit. It was a great day my family spent about 3.30 hours there and loved every minute ,it is a little rundown but all the animals are very well looked after. The relaxed atmosphere there gives you All the time you need and feeding so many different animals is a highlight.bags of food for 50 cents is a bargain.

An experience of a lifetime and one I will never forget. Watching the animals roam freely is such a beautiful and rare thing. Getting up close and personal with the Kangaroos, feeding them from my hand and petting them was the highlight of my trip to Australia so far - and it only costs $21pp entry plus $1 per bag for the Kangaroo food (you can buy as many bags as you like - we bought 6 bags between the 2 of us!). Not to be missed.
Helen — Google review
This place is amazing. It doesn't do the advertising that the Koala park does, but that's a politics-kind-of-thing, not a reflection on their quality. You can feed and pet kangaroos and wallabies (my personal favourite). Many of the wallabies have Joey's, as well, and you get to see them climbing in and out of their mom's pouch. The cost is very reasonable, and extra bags of food are only one dollar - so, you can feed 'till your heart is content. There are also other cool animals that you get to see (but not pet and feed), such as Tazzy Devils and Dingos. For the bird-fans, there are birds - not really my thing. This is a huge park, and you can easily spend all day here, and I would set aside at least a few hours, and that's if you don't linger too long... you can pretty much spend all day with these guys, if you want.

A natural rustic scenery this park offers an extensive range of Australian Wildlife. Easy to get around. The animals are close and some you can feed by hand and pat. You can walk around with Wallaby, Emu, Swans and Cape Barren Geese and lots more. The park has a large wetlands where you can enjoy watching wildlife in their natural habitat. Plenty of parking. A small gift shop. I highly recommend a visit. You will thoroughly enjoy.

This place has a wide range of Australian species, they are all domesticated so they are very friendly and not afraid of humans. One of the best experiences cuz I got the chance to come close to admire, pet, and feed them. The facility in general is clean and well maintained too. Love it ❤️

Excellent place for upfront encounter with animals. Kangaroos, wallabies, swans, wild birds, emus, snakes, reptiles, Eagles, owls, colourful birds, koalas, dingo, wombat, echinda and many more. No food, except for packages items. You get feed as part of your entry fees to feed emus and kangaroos. Children below 4 years don't need entry tickets.

Lovely animals, but RUDE staffs. While my friend enjoyed the acompanies the kangaroos, the animals suddenly started to flee and the birds flew all over the sky for unknown reason. To capture the moment, my friend run to take the videos when the staff stopped him. As much as he apologized and assure not to repeat, he was still asked to leave the park. And the staff used the word “stupid”. Later, we talked to the supervisor, the women at the reception. I don’t think she was open for any constructive discussion. On the contrary, she kept interrupting us and exaggerated our behavior (such as jail). I find her attitude EXTREMELY provoking. My friend’s inappropriate behavior was triggered in a very rare circumstance and not intentional. We normally expected a warning for this, instead of removal for good. Even if the decision cannot be overturn, there could have been better ways of communication, but we didn’t see any from either the staffs. And, we are Asian, not sure if it matters.
Ling0 L — Google review
Such a great place to walk around and see all the native animals. $21 for the entry ticket includes a bag of pellets to feed the kangaroo and emu. Be careful as the emu will try to steal the whole bag of food if they see it, I had to hide it in my pocket and the emu still followed us around for a bit 😂
Luke — Google review
Unfortunately, it was not a great experience at the wildlife park. I was there during high sun, so most animals were burrowed or hiding, but I'm sure some enclosures must have been empty, but no signs to say so. The first impression wasn't so welcoming on the ticket office, and the park has a feel of unkempt. The whole park feels baron, and with animal ID plates faded, hanging sideways or not present, it could do with a reboot. I'd be happy to share more directly with the park, as you can't improve if you're not aware.
Matthew Rose — Google review
I got in early in the morning so the kangaroos and wallabies were hungry and could be easily fed. By around 2pm they had been well fed by the guests and wouldn't eat from your hand anymore

Thick dense Fog greeted us as we drove towards the island, visibility became low, and felt like being inside a movie scene. So many tourists were there, parking was ok, millions of birds, everywhere, saw penguins 🐧, wallabies, wombats, big birds looking like from dinosaurs world, etc, very exciting 😀

What a wonderful experience to share with our little boy. All staff were professional and Tom was full of knowledge which was awesome. Do come early to get the best seats to watch the penguins stroll in, unless you've paid to view them from underground. The place is well maintained and managed to sneak a few pictures of the penguins. Great place for kids to learn about the penguins and conservation efforts to protect them. Highly recommended.

Our Go West tour was specifically for my wife and I to see the Penguins in their habitat and to watch the Parade. We were able take video and pictures along the boardwalk by the ocean. The boardwalk was safe for my wife to walk and we definitely enjoyed seeing the penguins; I mention this because it shows how important safety is to this organization for folks who come to visit especially if they are physically disabled or families with buggies. And seeing homes made for the little penguins and the well kept natural homes for them was amazing. When it was time to go to the visitors center we enjoyed an early dinner. May I say that with the number of guests eating at the restaurant the quality and plating of each dish we ordered was delicious and well presented. I observed your restaurant manager, Heni, take the time to look for guests whose food had been made but not picked up because they were sitting where the buzzers didn’t reach them. In all my time I’ve never seen that level of customer service before. We so enjoyed our overall experience of the penguin parade even with the rain and earlier then expected closure due to safety concerns with thunder and lightning. In addition, I am writing to let you know what an amazing group of people you have working at the Phillip Island Nature Parks. Every person we came in contact with was kind, helpful, and wonderful. Stephanie and others assisted my wife who needed the buggy down to and from the viewing platform as walking is strenuous for her; your staff assisted and made sure she had a place to view the penguin's waddling to their homes. On my walk back to the visitor center as my wife was on the buggy one of your orange vested staff shared information about the bandicoots and the story of their reemergence on the island (I’m so sorry I didn’t get your name, you were knowledgeable and friendly). And Steven, thank you for taking the time to speak with me about some of what I wrote here. Thank you all for your efforts and love for Phillip Island Nature Parks flora and fauna.

Great experience and suitable for older kids who can survive long journey in the mini bus. The travelling time is about 2 hrs one way. I joined Go West tour operator for a full day tour to Philip Island and went to see a few other places before heading to Penguin Parade at the end of the destination. Penguins are coming after sunset is down or around 6pm local time. These penguins are the smallest species among the other penguins in the world. They are super cute walking around the beach and climbs to the hills to find place to rest after hunting for the foods. It was amazing experience exploring the surroundings since the views are breathtaking especially in nice cold sunny weather.

Something you need to do at least once in your lifetime. Informative staff, adorable penguins, beautiful environment- what’s not to love? Pay extra for the premium seating/underground viewing- it’s totally worth it!!

My wife and I went on the Ultimate Penguin experience. We were provided with wet weather pants and jackets against the cold wet night. Then with a portable seat, earpiece (to easily hear our guide), torch and night vision scope, we walked about 1km to the beach and sat on the sand in the dark watching the penguins come ashore. It was awesome seeing them so close and watching their clumsy waddling and falling over themselves. The rain did not detract from the experience, if anything, it was perfect penguin weather. Our guide, Rachael gave us the perfect amount of commentary and information, pointing out things she wanted us to see on the way. Her passion was infectious, kudos++ to you Rachael, you have found your calling! On the walk back to the visitors centre in the dark, we saw more penguins on the road heading to their burrows. A great experience. The only thing lacking was a hot drink at the end of the night! Thoroughly recommend this, the small group (about 10 of us) made it all that more special.

Look at the right side or left side. Can’t see much at middle. Booking is essential. The underground viewing is good to try.

Penguin parade - do not miss this no matter what! Watch the penguins come out of the ocean after the sun sets, watch them gather in groups and then race up the beach. You then get to watch them waddle all the way to the nests in the hills to feed their babies- yes it is breading season right now. This is one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I cannot recommend the penguin parade highly enough. Don’t be the idiot that takes photos or video - no one wants to be that idiot. If you do nothing else on Phillip island, do the penguin parade!
Nathan Taylor — Google review
Definitely worth the visit!! This place is soooo nice and has a breathtaking view. We went there during winter/spring hence it was very windy and please bring a coat, jacket or blanket if you're stay for the penguin parade. Love to see the cute penguins! I would definitely come again if i have the chance to.

Loved the penguins here, do book ahead for for the seats and the tour. And make sure you are well wrapped up, it does get cold!
Matthew Fong — Google review
Breathtaking views and change in scenery as sunset transcended. The sound of the ocean waves crashing and the crisps coolness of the air is amazing. And the little fairy penguins are so adorable! The kids LOVED it! The experience is well worth paying for it, at least once 😆 We paid for the general viewing ticket. Coming during winter is good as the penguins generally come to shore when dark (around 5-ish pm). Suppose it’s better for younger kids so they don’t have to wait too long but got to rugged up for the cold. We wanted to get as close to the front row seats so we were here about 1 1/2 hours earlier before estimated penguin return time. And we did 😀 Recommend to wear sufficient warm clothing and bring snacks to nibble. A rug/mat as well if it’s a rainy day. As an adult it is surprisingly fun to watch the penguins waddling/running in to shore. I guess there is a kid in every one of us 😊 So cute to see how the penguins care for each other. They literally come in ones or pairs and they wait for their “small group” and then run in together as a team to their burrows. As you walk back on the boardwalk you get to see how the penguins interact with each other. So many different sounds they emit - be it playing, resting, fighting, feeding, resting or mating. Beauty of life and nature. It’s a pity photo taking aren’t allowed but it’s understandable. But it allows us to savour the moment 😀 They have information posters and few activities indoor. Good range of souvenirs (especially for kids…..parents $$$😅). There are food kiosk as well but did not check it out. Great work done for preserving this nature park.

Been here before and always enjoy walking with the wildlife. The sea breeze can make it a wee bit cool so bring a light coat.

An experience not to be missed if you are travelling around Melborn, this is also a small highlight to visit, actually you'd better book tickets a few day before, on the road 3-4 km to the park, we have seen the notice of "ticket sold out", and it had been so crowed in the park a few hours before the big show. Nice park to walk around, many different animals viewable from the road some including the geese tend to get on the road. The highlight is for sure to spot penguins in the burrows, at the beginning there was hardly a penguin to be seen, when most of them left (around 9:30 p.m.) then a lot of them came and it was just great! It's a big pity that it was forbidden to take photos and videos, but also understandable. You really learned a lot about penguins, e.g. that they go back into the sea about 2 hours before the sunrise. Recommendation to wear warmly, it is windy and fresh, but beautiful sunset.

Such precious, amazing penguins! How lucky we are to have the opportunity to visit them in their own habitat. Very easy accessibility for all, including disabled. Take a cushion to sit on, a blanket to wrap yourself in. It can be quite cold, especially if windy. Get there at least an hour beforehand for good posi if general admission. The Rangers are terrific and very informative.

Nature & Parks
The Phillip Island Koala Conservation Reserve is a wildlife refuge which offers views of koalas. The reserve is home to many different types of Australian wildlife, including kangaroos, emus, cassowaries and more. Visitors can enjoy walks along boardwalks that traverse the park's native bushland.
My family and I went here today. We saw lots of koalas. They are all very well fed. Many of them were awake which was a great thing to see since they sleep most of the day. Very recommended for family activity and educational purposes! The place was clean and shady.
Winwin Linus — Google review
As the entry fee is reasonable, I don't mind to help conserve Koalas. However most of the Koalas are older. It's hard to see younger ones as they live mostly at the top of the trees. However staff are friendly and I enjoyed the quiet natural beauty as well, though there was only one bench to sit! It was our third visit and first time we heard Koala's bellow! It sounds almost like the sound of a motorbike.
Rita Hasan — Google review
I visited in May and had a wonderful experience! The entry price was reasonable and the reserve well kept. A lot of care and effort went into minimising human interference and maintaining a natural environment. Volunteers were extremely helpful in pointing out the koala which can be hard to spot. The loop takes about 45minutes to walk, but if you are stopping to search for koalas and are busy taking pictures (like me!) then it could easily take 1-1.5hours. Will definitely visit again!
Brian Law — Google review
This was our first stop after a long drive and I actually enjoyed this more than the penguin parade. A nice tranquil walk through the reserve whilst looking out for wallabies, birds and of course koalas. I think we were lucky (or they’re more active closer to dusk) but we counted and saw most of the koalas that were in each area. Several were very close to the boardwalk rather than up in the trees. A few of the wallabies and koalas had babies as well. We drove past a more expensive koala park on the way that looked like it was going for the family theme park with koala vibe so if people have hyperactive kids this may not be for you. Would highly recommend this place and look forward to seeing how they develop with more spaces in the future.
Hayden — Google review
This is a great place to see and learn about koalas. And you can feel at ease knowing that the money you spend here goes to where it is needed. Every morning, rangers go around to find where the koalas are and put up signs around that area so visitors can more easily find them up in the trees. (On sunny days, it’s probably not the easiest to spot them without a bit of help!)
ARBN — Google review
One of the best Koala reserved. Place is so well maintained and you will be able to have close up view with the koalas. Great place to bring along your kids.
Melvin Chang — Google review
This was an unexpected highlight- amazing experience! We got to see 8 koalas in the trees - ranges are on hand to point them out high up in the trees. We were lucky enough to see one koala shimmy down the tree and walk along the walkway wooden railing, giving us a chance to see it up close. So super cute and cuddle (except for those long claws!) This was a so much better experience than seeing them in a cage-enclosure, or purposely placed on a tree stump where you pose next to them for a photo. Highly recommended!

Great experience for me and my family as this was the first sighting of koalas for us. Ticket was $30 per adult which is reasonable and worth. There were 8 koalas and lots of Wallabies and we were fortunate to spot all the koalas. Staff was friendly and helpful.

It was my first time seeing koalas and it was really nice. You can see koalas in their natural habitats. Shady place Each viewing point has a sign with the number of koalas on it. Made us feel like we were playing the game of finding all the koalas. It was really fun, even my parents liked it.
Nattinee Suwannatee — Google review
Great time, guaranteed to see koalas, not guaranteed to see them awake but we were lucky I think as was wet and colder last night so eating this morning. The boardwalks with fresh eucalyptus branches placed close by do encourage the awake ones to be close to visitors instead of high in the trees, so great viewing and photo opportunities.
Andrew F — Google review
Feeling lucky? Then come here to test it out, because one of these cuties literally walked a fashion show in front of us. We were actually every lucky because most of the koalas were awake and quite interactive. Customer service could improve though.

Koala conservation reserves Australia Being a cat owner, I have a knack for finding hidden kitties. However, I quickly realized that spotting koalas requires a different set of skills. These furry creatures can climb high up on thin branches and blend in with the eucalyptus tree trunks. I visited around and discovered that all the koalas were peacefully sleeping. It took me a little while to locate each one of them. The entry price was reasonable and the reserve well kept. A lot of care and effort went into minimising human interference and maintaining a natural environment. Volunteers were extremely helpful in pointing out the koala which can be hard to spot. The loop takes about 45minutes to walk, but if you are stopping to search for koalas and are busy taking pictures If I hadn't been pressed for time, I could have happily stood there, mesmerized by their serene slumber. It was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Additionally, I was lucky enough to spot some adorable wallabies during

The main visitor centre provides a lot of interesting information in a visually stimulating and interactive manner. The two koala boardwalks provide an opportunity to get close to the koalas and watch them sleep, eat and sleep a little more. The park is set out in a visitor friendly manner, with lots of space to move around and see the koalas from many different angles. Many opportunities to see other wildlife too, including swamp wallabies. We took our time, 3 adults and 4 children, and did everything the park had to offer in 90-120mins.

I really want to thank all the people who contributed to support this conservation center. Hats off for your effort. Really enjoyed the walk in the park. Sighted so many beautiful things in the visit. Friendly staff and beautifully designed sites for koala and other dwellers. Kids will love to see beautiful and majestic Koala.

Pretty good. Well maintained and staff available in the boardwalk area, should you need them. You can see several koalas and would be just about guaranteed to see one. They're fairly difficult to see in detail unless you have a good camera or binoculars but you can see them up in the treetops from below. Some interactive things/craft and colouring zone for kids or koala themed play equipment would improve the place. The potting up of seeds was a cool thing to do and there were interesting displays inside. The gift shop had a few soft toys and gift type items. Toilets were available but there was only one unisex toilet and one disabled toilet. They're located out the front on the deck.

A great place to get a close encounter with koalas without disrupting them too much. The rescued koalas are grouped into two colonies and some freelancers. The two groups are placed inside their own enclosed area with elevated walking platforms for visitors to see them up close. For the free roaming ones, the centre staff places signs on the ground helping visitors to spot them high up: after all, they are koalas so they will be there for most of the day. Some other animals are also present but we only spotted a wallaby. There are also conservation programs on some sea birds. If you are visiting Phillip Island for better known attractions like the penguin parade, consider visiting this as well.

A great little park, with 2 koala boardwalks, easy walking for kids & the elderly. We saw about 10 koalas. Volunteers and guides are there to give more information and answer questions. I also liked their giftshop, reasonably priced items.
Kyzia Morrison — Google review
An amazing experience, the Koalas 🐨 gorgeous. There are signs around the different walks that tell you that there is a koala nearby. They were quite active when we were there, and 2 had babies! The raised board walks allow you to see the Koalas much more easily.

Rachel, who we bought our tickets from, was incredibly helpful answering our questions and sharing her thoughts and suggestions. The koalas there were super cute and you get to see them fairly close up in a space that feels natural and healthy for them. It was a really lovely and serene space with beautiful birds to see as well. It took about 1-2 hours to see everything at a relaxed pace which was really nice. Would recommend The information center was also interesting to learn more about koalas and was a nice experience too.

I had a lovely time here, the staff were friendly and the koalas 🐨 were adorable. My friend and I got to see many native animals here and even got to see a koala eating their eucalyptus leaves! Would love to visit again.

Nature & Parks
Churchill Island is an island off Phillip Island with a heritage farm that features animal demonstrations and wagon rides. It is completely separated from Phillip Island by a single lane wooden bridge across Western Port Bay. The Churchill Island Heritage Farm features things to do like walking trails, views of the bay, and a cafe.
Leisurely exploring the Churchill Island farmstead made for a nice relaxing afternoon. The views of the rolling hills before the ocean were beautiful. There’s a small gift shop and the cafe staff were very friendly. The animals seemed well looked after and there was a big variety, the free range ducks and chickens were especially cute to watch.
Joseph Brak — Google review
I did a lovely walk on the North Loop. It's an easy walk with lots of spots to stop and soak in the views. It took me about 2 hours but I was taking it slowly. The track is well signposted. The history of this island marks its name as Millowl of the Boon Wurrung language group and gives a history of its first English occupant, Lieutenant Grant. There is a cairn that marks where Grant's first house was and information about the garden he planted (wheat, barley, corn etc). The French planted a similar garden on French Island. It was a beautifully windy day with sun and light rain showers so it was good to have layers, a wind proof rain proof jacket and beanie along with short sleeves for the sunny moments! 4 seasons in one day weather for sure! I stopped for a delicious lunch in the cafe at the end of the walk. It's in the Churchill Island information centre. Overall, a lovely day out.

Good place for families to visit. You can walk round the island in 1.5 hours. There are activities such as cow milking, sheep shearing, whip cracking etc.

Stunning, historical and cultural heritage all these adjectives you can use. What a mind blowing and refreshing feeling. We just tried to follow the beauty of the island. There were some events going on there. But we just jumped in one; which called " working dog". Had good time with "rip" the dog. We meet with neuville. That horse is too adorablevand also her two kids. But the best part of the island is Roggers cottage. This cottage will give you a feeling how Rogers family used to live there with their family and their workers. You can imagine their total lifestyle. Please visit this island at first place once you arrive phillip island. Strongly recommend.

Very underrated attraction in Phillip Island! Churchill Island has a very interesting 1800s house with many of the elements preserved. They also run sheep shearing, blacksmithing, dog heading and animal milking. There is also a Farmers Market first Saturday each month with much more than produce to see. Can be boggy in places in winter so be aware of that

Great place to visit and walk around , plenty of activities throughout the day so check before going. Food at the cafe was good offering plenty of views if it was raining like it was when we visited. We took a long walk after the rain and it’s such a great island. Please visit and support!

School holidays are the best time to visit the island if you want to see and participate in cow milking and whip cracking. Demonstrations of sheep shearing, sheep dog at work rounding up sheep and blacksmithing are some of the other activities. Entry tickets include the two historical well preserved cottages. You can see the paddocks and horses also. Beautiful views from the cafe. Most of the demonstrations start at 2pm. Hay rides are in the morning.

Great place to visit for the day. Heard about it from a friend. We went around 12pm which gave us enough time to walk around, catch a bite to eat and then go to all the demonstrations events that started at 2pm. Great little gem.

Great! Very nice restaurant. On the night we went was a casual vibe with the setting and locals in a mixture of shirts and board shorts, and some all dressed up. classy experience with nice napkins and very experienced staff. Meals were a step above standard pub fare, and if you're at a Brewery you have to try a beer flight! Would definitely recommend

First time here, waited for 50 minute for a sour serving of 13 chips plus over cooked dry chicken parma. Part of steak can't be bitten in to. Only decent part is the seafood pasta but still a slightly small serving for an adult male. Don't recommend if you're in rush for the penguin parade.
Steven Wan — Google review
We had delicious meals, somewhere between fine dining and pub which is perfect as you get excellent food, prepared to perfection and don't leave hungry. Prices were on point too. As a beer lover, I have to say great beers, the IPA is good and the Koala Pale is excellent. Staff were attentive and helpful.

I booked and we got there a little early. Not a problem. Ordered drinks straight away, they were promptly served. Our waiter was lovely and he took our order. I had the watermelon and feta salad, it was to die for. Partner had the grilled chicken and he said it was cooked to perfection and the taste was delicious. Beautiful ambience and saw the local produce for purchase. Love that. We will definitely be back. Had a great experience at the Rusty Water Brewery. 😊

The food here is great, especially the beef pie. There’s a great selection of beers (of course), including a sampling tray of four different beers. It’s dog friendly if you eat out on the balcony, which is our preference. The staff are really friendly. Have eaten here a few times, and will be back again in the future.

Great food, dog friendly and lovely staff! Had the barramundi and spaghetti marinara and thoroughly enjoyed both. Only complaint was that we ordered as soon as the kitchen opened at 12 when it was quiet but we still had to wait 40 minutes.

We came on a rainy day whole waiting to go to the penguin parade. Staff were nice. They let us charge our phones. It is a little expensive but all dishes cost between 28$ and 30$ so at least you choose a dish according to your liking and not the price. The Parma and seafood pasta where really good. So in fact a good value for price.

Stumbled across this place on our way into Cowes after 6pm on a Tuesday. We didn’t realised until after checking in at our motel that most places don’t open Mon/Tues so decided to give the Rusty Water a chance….. oh my goodness, I haven’t eaten such amazing fish in quite some time. The service was fast, the food was beautifully cooked and the my husband was raving about the chicken parmigiana! Definitely recommend a visit!

We had visited after motogp event. Perfect hangout place for a brunch / supper or for jst drinks. Great ambience. Staff were nice, we had no reservation but still got table for couple of times. Food is nice, not spicy though, expensive. However, totally worth paying. They also have different beers to choose from. Would highly recommend this place, tip reserve before going.

I rarely give a negative review but this place really deserves it. People like Neil ruins everything. Unfortunately, Neil's ruined all the great effort from his lovely staff, despite of the good food, people goes there to have a great time and Neil, with his bad attitude and service, he simply ruins the reputation of his staff and the brand of the place. He is lucky to have good staff that is not like him that hopefully, for his business, will keep the business afloat for a little bit longer. Stay away if you can, unless it is the last option for dinner.

Great place to eat, it was a relaxed but tastefully styled restaurant with amazing food. We were pleasantly surprised as we'd thought about going there for quite a while but felt it may be a bit of a bar type atmosphere that might focus more on beer than food but we were completely wrong... Would highly recommend this lovely restaurant. Friendly staff too.

Beach HQ is the BEST restaurant in Cowes. Their service is excellent and their food are Delicious 😋. Their salads are washed clean properly to my standard. Modern and welcoming atmosphere. I have eaten all over the island and this place is a must for anyone who loves good food. The Parma was juicy and delicious, the pork belly super tasty ,the only thing is I like big meals and this for me was a little small but still big enough for most I reckon. Same with the chicken legs.

We dined here twice during our four-day stay at Cowes and the staff were very accommodating on both occasions especially Ayta (not sure of the spelling) and the guy with the long hair at the reception, all restaurants close at 8PM but they were willing to stay behind and wait for us. Walked in with friends and kids, as it seems like a good place with a view.Table was set with a glass with a lipstick stain. I said it is not clean, and the manager he said that’s properly washed quite rudely, I pointed out the stain and he grabbed it off my hand aggressively, no apologies was quite shaken by this treatment. We were out after our meal, this is one of our usual holiday spots, won’t be going here next time. There’s good food spots with better service, and good variety in menu.

Phillip Island Winery is a family-run winery situated on the western end of Phillip Island. The wine is made from cool climate grapes and has been awarded 94/100 by wine guru James Halliday. The wines can be sampled in the tasting room which is a peaceful oasis in amongst the fields.
Yesterday, my friend and I visited the winery for the first time. I can honestly say the experience was one of, if not the best service we have ever received. The staff are genuinely the kindest, most beautiful hearted I'd ever had the pleasure of meeting, equally matched was the standard of food, drinks, and atmosphere. We can not wait to visit again. A huge shout out to the beautiful women who went out of their way to be kind, endearing, and uplifting, you are the essence of our experience 😊

Took a day trip to Phillip Island yesterday with the family, and booked lunch at Phillip Island Winery. The absolute highlight of our day! Deb took our booking and promised us a lovely table - true to her word, it was perfect for us. The food and wine were absolutely delicious - we had Grazing Board, Barramundi (melted in your mouth), Braised Beef Ribs (so tasty)....Pizzas. Yum. Every single waitress we came across was so friendly, attentive and we were made to feel welcome and at home. Such a credit to everyone there. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back!

Lovely setting with wonderful staff and excellent wine. However, the lamb meatballs we tried were tough, had a strong gamey flavour, and varied in temperature from one meatball to the next. Despite our hunger, it was somewhat off-putting for my wife. We also sampled the large harvest salad; it seemed to lack any vinegar or acidic touch, coming across as somewhat plain for our taste. Perhaps we misunderstood the menu’s intent. Still, we’re open to returning and exploring other menu options. Everything else was up to par, and the desserts sounded lovely, though we didn’t try them, looked tempting. We’re considering the pizzas for our next visit. Overall, a pleasant experience.

The Phillip Island Winery is a really nice venue for any number of occasions. We, unfortunately, were visiting for a wake. The facilities are excellent and the place looks great, especially when the sun is shining. There are some excellent wines and beers by the bottle available, but they only had one beer on tap. Food wise, the freshly made pizzas are pretty good, however the catered food is pretty average.

We were here during the summer of 2023, after reading some positive reviews of this winery on Phillip Island, decided to give it a try. It wasn't too crowded during lunch time. The food and wine was a tad underwhelming. Had the gnocchi and salad, food was average, wine was normal. Pricey too, $90 for our meal with 2 mains and just a glass of red. Slightly disappointed, expected better. Great views around the vineyard though.

We had a fabulous lunch with a group of ten. Staff were fantastic and the service was very good considering how busy they were. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The wines we ordered complemented the food. Had a great chat with the owners mum at the end, who was more than happy to talk about the vineyard etc. We had some extra time to try the wine tasting. On entering the bar area, there are lovely homewares for purchase. HOWEVER do not presume everything is for sale. I picked up a large wooden bowl with a sticker on only to have this snatched out of my hand and was spoken to rather rudely by the man doing the wine tasting. Apparently, this was for display purposes only, and the sticker attached had fallen off something else???. I was quite embarrassed, apologised, and walked out. Only to realise all my party had joined me for the same reason and could not believe his rudeness. Overall, a lovely afternoon in the sun with great friends and food.

Breakfast restaurant
Restaurant with panoramic views of the rugged coastline and Bass Strait, as well as beautiful tableware. Promotes regional Victorian producers with an emphasis on Gippsland wherever possible. Offers breakfast items such as ricotta and buttermilk hotcakes with poached pear, orange curd and vanilla mascarpone, or heirloom beetroot potato rosti with goats cheese and puffed wild rice.
Breathtaking views over the ocean & superb food. Book in advance to avoid missing out. The decor has been kept simple and neutral which allows the ocean views to be the focal point as you enter the bright, spacious and airy room. Service was friendly. Great menu with so many amazing dishes, it was hard to choose! All dishes were beautifully presented, and tasted amazing with a perfect balance of flavour. Grilled prawns were so fresh and succulent, and the baby squid (calamari) tender. The lamb shoulder and the beef fillet were both cooked perfectly and were delicious. The Eton Mess was sensational with the orange curd, but the White Chocolate & passion fruit mousse looked and tasted sublime! Such a beautiful setting and delicious food - highly recommend.

Great restaurant, but has been closed for a long while for expansion with absolutely no indication of when they are reopening. No website, social media, or any other form update for when they're back open. Pretty unprofessional to just drop out without any timeline to your customers.

Amazing experience. Really top quality food and service. You pay a little more than somewhere in town but what do you expect? The views are excellent and well worth a few extra dollars!

Yum a must go in the area Spectacular views and great setting lines a restaurant that is tasty, crowd pleasing. The service was a real standout today, we came at the end of thei lunchtime sitting at 3 and staff were super welcoming attentive and accommodating to two little ones. The food didn't seem too local or refined to what I thought the menu portrayed, either way was too quality and probably the best feed your find on the island. Book ahead and get an outdoor seat of the weather allows.

What a find! Having driven past this location for many years including its predecessor Shearwater Cafe, tucked away off the main highway, on the south side of the island, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast (9:30 sitting) for a party of 13. Staff were lovely, bacon and eggs excellent and the standout was the ricotta hot cake. Incredible views, nice shaded outdoor seating area and all round top experience. Can’t wait to return and looking forward to the new hot springs development under construction, which they say is opening by early 2022

Gorgeous views, I mean, absolutely beautiful. There's an outside seating area and you can walk down right to the cliffs edge. Unfortunately you can't actually get down to that secluded beach, but looking at the cliffside; if you were to get down there's very little chance that you can get back up. However, because of the space, it's also quite loud when there are more than a few tables. The food is good, although the portions are quite small. I got the big breakfast (I mean it's called something more fancy than that, but that's basically what it is), but a few others in the group got one of the more fancy sounding items which really left them wanting. The drinks were good enough, although a few ended up getting more than one coffee to cover their caffeine needs. Would go again but mainly for the view.

My wife and I really loved our experience here. After reading all the reviews after the last couple of months, from long wait times, to the lack of staff, we decided to give the place a go. Food was delicious, atmosphere was relaxed, service was friendly and on point. Only down side, as diners upstairs, we were left alone a bit too much and table settings weren’t topped up after last diners. A plus would be a waiter coming to check on us occasionally (“how’s everything going, can I get you anything else?”). However, I do highly recommend this place. It really looks like they read the reviews (from the last 3 months or so) and took them on board to pick up the challenges handed to us from lockdowns and staffing issues.

The food overall is incredibly delicious, with very fresh seafood, and the servers are very friendly. However, if you plan on dining in the evening, I would recommend getting a good night's sleep first. Otherwise, the lighting inside the restaurant may make you feel sleepy.

The service was horrible all because of one staff member who was rude with every interaction our table of 6 had with her. Also we were not advised there maybe a wait on food, no one came to apologise whilst we were waiting over 35 minutes for a burger, salad and a soft drink. The salad was served in what was described by my table as a ‘dog bowl’. It was really disappointing as the food was great. I enjoyed mine and the others who also waited 35-40 minutes really enjoyed theirs.

Lovely ambience, set right by the water. However, the food menu is rather limited. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious. Drinks are not cheap. Good service.

Great place for a casual bite and a few drinks. Great views and food is tasty. Wait staff are friendly. Dogs allowed outside, however you can reserve their outdoor tables. Child friendly with kids menu options available. Accessible bathrooms and entrance. There is an upstairs seated dining area as well.

This restaurant has one of the best woodfire pizzas ever!!! We started with one pizza and the fish tacos which were soooo goood and freshhh very delicious!!! The pizza was so good we got another one!!! The view with the water just made it even better and the price was very affordable compared to the quality and the amazing view. If you go to Phillip Island, this is the place for your dinner.

We had an early dinner tonight and what a great experience. Shared calamari and sticky wings and then a margaretia pizza. So good! Fantastic service from Chloe & Roman . More so the kitchen staff and chefs. Thank you so much. We will definitely recommend your restaurant and we will return.

Hi there came here on Saturday night for a dinner with my girlfriend and her parents. On arrival is was a very cool looking place next the water up against a pier. The place is very casual/dressy vibe. When we got the the waitress was nice and sat us at our table, she continued to tell us there would be up to a 45 minute wait on the food, we said no worries we understand. 1 hour and 15 minutes pass and our food arrives. We weren't exactly thrilled but it is what it is. We got the chilly mussels which were very good, very tasty needs more bread with it to dip into the sauce! Also got the fish tacos which were spot on. We also got a pizza and was a wood fired fancy looking and I was told it tasted great. So good was.great obviously but they lose half a star for the long wait. Short staffed or not you should be offering the customer something of value for the mistake you are running a business you have to respect the customer. All and all amazing food. Average service.

Booked 11.30am Sun morning and was really looking forward to this place with forecasted of sunny day. Arrived 11.30 and was easy to get a car park, was full when I left, noticed some had to park quite far. We were the first few in the restaurants and were quickly ushered to this indoor picnic table. Staffs were friendly, placed our order and food came quickly. Food was great, I liked the Parma and my daughter enjoyed her fish and chips too. We would love to sit longer and enjoy the desserts but we were not able to stand the heat any longer. The picnic tables were directly under the sun. There was no shade and we were indoor with no cool air circulating around us. I started sweating and my daughter’s face was so red till I had to put some sunblock. No doubt the ambience was nice but could have had the windows tinted darker or some really heat resistant films. Try to book non-picnic tables in the future as none of them were directly under the sun.

Food was good. Tried the Parma, seafood linguine, buffalo cauliflower, sticky wings and kids margherita. I'd probably only recommend the kids margherita but I'm keen to return to try the other dishes here because I absolutely loved the ambiance of this place - amazing water views, very chilled out relaxing vibes. Service was alright. There's also a little pier outside that's great for photos, with or without the San Remo bridge in the background.

Love the food at Saltwater. We ordered the mussels, fish tacos and the buffalo cauliflower. I couldn't decide which item i love most because they were all so delicious. I especially love the buffalo sauce, it was tangy and not overly spicy. The cauliflower was cooked perfectly and was not soggy. The flavours of the fish tacos were magnificent. Would prefer another piece of bread to soak up all the sauces from the mussels though. Overall, we love everything we ordered. Remember to make a booking as it can get busy. Would love to come back to try other items in the menu.

What a great find on a windy Sunday. Great staff who made sure we were looked after (Your boss should be so pleased to have such a great team of staff so friendly and welcoming) Good food, beer, wine & view. Thanks especially to Dale 👍

We did share plates for all. The mussels as I was told was the highlight. It wasn’t bad and the mussels was fresh. Other seafood dishes including the linguine was good as well. We also ordered the seafood chowder but it was very salt and more watery than the kind that I am used to - though the latter is a personal preference👍🏻 Booking is 100% recommended as it is a fairly popular place. I also recommend the saltwater brand beers including cider.

I wanted to share with you my recent experience at a local restaurant here on Phillip Island. Having been here once before, I knew that it would be a good experience, and I was not disappointed. During my visit, I decided to try some of their signature dishes. Firstly, I had their local fish and chips, which is always a hit. The fish itself was incredibly tasty, flaky, and had a perfect crispness to it. Paired with their paprika sea salt chips, it was a delightful combination. This dish was definitely a popular choice at our table. Next, we tried their seafood linguine, and I must say, it looked absolutely divine. The presentation alone was enough to entice my taste buds. In keeping with the seafood theme, we also decided to try their salt and pepper squid. While it was decent, it didn't quite meet the expectations set by the other dishes we had. However, the real star of the evening was their buffalo cauliflower with garlic cashew cream. This dish completely exceeded my expectations. The buffalo flavor was just the right amount of spicy, and the garlic cashew cream added a creamy and flavorful element to the dish. It truly hit the mark and left me wanting more. Of course, I can't forget to mention the stunning view of the water from the restaurant. It's always a plus to dine in a place with such a beautiful backdrop. It's definitely a must-see when visiting Phillip Island. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was delightful. The food was delicious, particularly the fish and chips and the buffalo cauliflower. Coupled with the picturesque view, it made for a memorable dining experience.
