MAHAMAYA Gili Meno

Mentioned on
Hotel
Asian fusion restaurant
MAHAMAYA Gili Meno is a stylish resort located on the picturesque Gili Meno island, offering guests a relaxing seaside experience with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. The hotel features a beachfront restaurant serving delicious meals and snacks, as well as an outdoor pool with a bar. Known for its breathtaking sunset vistas and romantic dinner tables by the water's edge, it provides a top-notch dining experience in a beautiful setting.
Loved our stay here. What a beautiful location. Everyone was so so helpful and the food was delicious. We saw some beautiful sunsets, sea turtles right outside the hotel and made some wonderful memories. The statues in the sea are also a short snorkelling journey from the beach at the front of the hotel too. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend as either a hotel or restaurant. The only negative was that some of the restaurant portions can be fairly small, but maybe that was actually a good thing!

Amazing beach front restaurant! We booked here for our Christmas Day set menu and it was incredible (awesome gravy, roasties) and the cheesecake was the best I’ve ever had ❤️ staff super friendly and helpful and great price too. We loved it so much we came back the last night for dinner and we’re equally as happy with the venue :) thanks so much xx

Amazing hotel, with lovely staff and perfect location on the beach for snorkeling with turtles and the sunset. We ate there a bunch of times and everything was yummy. One day I found the chef on the beach buying freshly caught fish off a local and so I ordered it for dinner - it was honestly the best fish I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

We stayed here one night. It was a last minute stay as we had originally planned to stay in Gili Air this night, but after a problem at the hotel in Gili Air where the accommodations did not meet our standard we decided to head back to Gili Meno. It was a busy time in the Gili island b/c of the day of silence in Bali where many people leave Bali for night or 2 to avoid this holiday. The Meno house was booked where we had stayed 2 nights before so we booked here. Hotel was right on the beach. Breakfast was lovely. Chairs on the beach were comfortable. It was nice that they had a pool(s). We were a little bit stressed as we needed to catch a ferry back to Bali and the ferries were packed because of the return of many people back to Bali after the day of silence. In fact, an additional ferry was added that day but most people on the inland including the front desk at our hotel were unaware of this. It would have been nice if they had been aware of the extra ferry, not sure if the hotel should have done more research or the ferry company should have advertised better but that added stress to our vacation here. I actually do not recall our room much or our stay here but I think it was all fine for the most part but not as lovely as I wish it were. I remember I liked the Meno House better.

I am rating and describing only the restaurant. It was a delicious diner that We had in the beach hotel restaurant. The staff are good as well as the food. We took fish and chips as a main. Course and a toffee sticky pudding with vanilla Ice cream as desert ( we took first a pudding and pavlova but the last one was not good so has been changed and not charged) . The price are correct. I recommend to visit and had a dinner as they have a very beautiful beach view. May be I will come back to try the hotel on itself :) :)

Great welcoming and always smiling staff! They made our honeymoon even more special. Speed boat leaves you on the beach in front of the resort. Villa was tastefully decurated and it was facing the sea. Very good breakfast and restaurant with home made foods and fresh fish. Magic atmosphere at sunset! I definitely reccomand!

Came here to have dinner for my birthday! My husband arrange birthday cake also with affordable price and good cake! The appetizers, meal, and drinks were good! Services also good! All the staff even sang happy birthday when delivered the cake to our table!

Great place, the rooms are very nice, in a good condition. There are 2 pools with easy access from all rooms. The restaurant are fine, not fancy. The dishes they serve are well done. The menu is limited, and because there are not many options on the island, that is a problem. Breakfast is ok, but limited, and the same every day. Also a problem, because the are not really many alternatives. The staff is really friendly and all of them remember our kids name - that’s cute. We got picked up on the pier of Gili T, at the same minute we arrived from Bali, that was really great after a long day of traveling.

Beautiful location, great service and nice rooms. Food and drinks are also very fine. Altogether its a really nice hotel with value for money - our family would book again.

Amazing view with best food in the island. If you take private boat, you can dock right in front of hotel. I really liked that the hotel is newly renovated and quiet. The beach in front of the hotel is insanely clean too. There is dive shop only 2 min walk away from hotel so perfect for divers as well

Such a nice place! Great food, atmosphere and our server Aan and the rest of the crew were fantastic! We had a romantic candle light dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We can really recommend you to arrive just in time to see the sunset, which is beautiful from this place!

Enjoyed our stay at Mahamaya Friendly staff, good breakfast - possibly the most expensive place on Gili meno but you felt very well looked after! Premium on drinks /food if you want to stay at the hotel for the whole time you visit

The hotel is very exclusively placed on Gili Meno. If someone wants to have luxury stay away from hustle and bustle this is a great place. Their restaurant food is great as well, we got multiple vegetarian options here.

We had a comfortable stay at Mahamaya. A special welcome in our room to help celebrate our honeymoon was a lovely start. Room was clean and included unlimited drinking water and good amenities. The included breakfast was basic and nice, we ate elsewhere for dinners though for a little more atmosphere/food range. Beach-side service was good, but unfortunately the cocktails weren’t great. We enjoyed the complimentary bikes to explore the island.

Starting off with the location. Just awesome. Especially if you go there for dinner (with a reservation you'll get the best table) first row overlooking the beach and the beautiful sunset. The service was always on point and each one tried their best to fullfill all of the customers needs and wishes. I can recommend to each and everyone to go visit this restaurant

Really special experience. Located directly on beach with hotel’s loungers and tables, viewing the turquoise sea and neighbouring island. Loved the super king bed and outdoor shower. Ate every meal at the hotel and very impressed by the range, quality and presentation. Lastly, staff are attentive, available and very friendly!

We booked one of the two beach villas as a treat, it was lovely but if we stayed again I think I would book a standard room as all the rooms looked really lovely. Breakfast is good, only allowed one hot drink, but we could make more tea/coffee in our room. Only ate lunch once and it was very nice, restaurant was busy in the evening but we like to dine in more local places so can't comment on dinner but the setting is very romantic in the evening. Location - definitely best side of the island, good restaurants within walking distance, saw plenty of turtles either from our sun lounger or in the sea, close to the Bask underwater sculptures. Arranged a transfer via the hotel, which worked very well and meant we could arrive and depart from the hotel beach and not via the port on the other side of the island. Definitely the best midpriced place to stay on this beautiful and laid-back island 🏝
jane anness — Google review
My partner and I ordered the mixed seafood grill and steak from the restaurant. While the grill and steak was decent, we felt that the price was a bit too expensive for the quality of food. Given that there are plenty of bars/restaurants in the area, we would recommend dining at other places!

We had a good time. You can snorkel right around the island, but we saw most sea turtles and beautiful coral right in front of the hotel. Lunch was good as well as breakfast. The menu items are just a little bit expensive compared to the local areas. We had dinner at a local restaurant. You get free snorkelling gear and bicycles to tour the island with. That was all great. One downside is the room- although beautiful and neat- it is not very practical. The airconditioning in the room was on it's last life and did not really work well. The bathroom is kind of open area with an outside shower, so the outside heat and humidity lies here. The door between the bathroom and the room does not seal well so the little cold wind the aircon tries to give, the bathroom heat seaps through and takes away. In the end it was very hot and we ended up sleeping on the floor where the tiles are cooler. The room door kept hitting inside the doorframe and made such a noise, we had to put a towel underneath the door to prevent it. Overall we had a nice experience. Sad to say, if you look at the rooms, we didn't get what we paid for. Everything else was fine.
Chantel Cronje — Google review
They have tables in the beach and at night they are really nice! Make sure to make a reservation Food is pretty good, fresh squid was really good and the Nutella dessert amazing. A bit pricey compared to other restaurants in the island
Javier Pérez Diago — Google review
Friendliest staff of the planet, and the quality of the hotel is amazing, I wonder how they can provide such a high standard on an island that has basically only beach and some trees, no cars etc. So a little luxury wonder on an island of pure peace 💛

Gili Meno Sea Turtle Sanctuary

Mentioned on
Animal shelter

Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Gili Meno Turtle Sanctuary is located on the beach and cares for baby turtles, allowing them a higher chance of survival. The sanctuary has caretakers who look after the turtles and visitors can donate Rp 100k to help feed them by using the donation box provided. It's important to take care of the environment by minimizing plastic usage, not stepping on or touching corals, and using coral-friendly sunscreen. There is no cost to visit but donations are appreciated.
It seems they're doing good work. It's right on the open on the beach and you can donate to the donation box if you want. Take care of your trash, use as little plastic as you can, don't step on or touch the corals and use coral friendly sunscreen. Let's care for the oceans by caring for ourselves.
Karolis — Google review
Cute little sea turtle 🐢 sanctuary. No one was around when I passed by so hopefully they are being cared for. I am sure once things pick up on the island, the sanctuary will be back operating at full capacity.
Joe Landry — Google review
Went to walk by the place to try and check out the sanctuary. The turtles are still relatively young at 3 months old. They would need to stay for a couple more months and when they are 7 months old then would be able to release them to the sea. As mentioned by the owner when I went to drop by.
nata decocoa — Google review
We had a great time releasing the baby tirtles into the sea, it is a wonderful experience and was just magical watching the small turtle make its way into the ocean

Small little place with very devoted man running it!he is doing an amazing job trying to preserve these wonderful creatures as us humans are destroying their natural habitats!please donate when you get there!
Natalia Tomaszewska — Google review
Don’t go there!!! It’s cruelty!! These turtles will never survive!! They will all die!!! A sanctuary is for animals who are hurt, to release them if they are strong enough. The people there collect the eggs and put the baby’s in a pool for stupid tourists to make money!! It’s like a zoo! Worst! These turtles belong in the ocean!!
TheBrinsch — Google review
Pop in with no expectations for a quick 5 minute visit. Great to see the little guys being given a higher chance of survival. No cost but donations are accepted. Please note the hut is smaller than expected and could be easy to walk past.
Tricky Biscuits — Google review
Very small but felt authentic. The little baby turtles were so cute and some nice info about the conservation efforts. Asks for donations but no charge for the visit.
Scarlett Johnstone — Google review
Great place, for those saying it is non authentic conservation they are wrong, the organisers do not allow tourists to touch or pickup the turtles. The turtles a fed so they get to a certain size to minimise predation in the wild
James — Google review
A must-visit destination for nature lovers and those interested in marine conservation efforts. Located in Gili Meno, Indonesia, the sanctuary provides a safe haven for endangered sea turtles. Visitors can witness the rehabilitation process, learn about the efforts to protect these majestic creatures, and even participate in the release of rehabilitated turtles back into the ocean. The sanctuary is well-maintained and staffed by knowledgeable and friendly guides who are passionate about their work. The stunning scenery and crystal-clear waters surrounding the sanctuary only add to the overall experience. Highly recommended for a meaningful and educational excursion.
ole skov — Google review
This is NOT a sanctuary. This is someone profiting from ‘saving’ turtles. Keeping many baby turtles for prolonged periods in small, shallow pools teaches them nothing about the outside world and how to survive. They need to hit the sea as soon as, check back to see where they’re from and maybe someday they’ll find their way back. Most turtles hatch at night away from scorching temperatures so releasing them in the day also risks killing them in the heat. Sure, turtle survival rate is low out in the wild but these kids have no chance. Protecting eggs from predators so they hatch? Sure. But after that, stick them in the sea where the circle of life will do its thing.
Jake — Google review
It's great to see the establishment of this turtle conservation centre but many improvements can be done around the area to enhance the hygiene and system of that place. The staff said the baby turtle was to be released at about 3 months + but the notice board stated 7-9 months, which is inconsistent. They are charging 150000 Rupiah for 1 baby turtle release but it goes straight to the person working there but not the donation box, which may not directly contribute to the space improvement fund. But still, good to help the locals.
CC Lim — Google review
The sanctuary itself is small but you get to see baby turtles and that was nice. They accept donations and they are a stop on the snorkelling tours from Gili T.
Esteban Zanelli — Google review
Super cute turtles.. They seem to be taking really good care.. I don't understand much about what needs to be done and whatnot but they seemed to know what they are doing and everything was humane. You can release a turtle for 200k which is alot but they use that to help more turtles.
Fouad Adel — Google review
Mr Bolong know his turtles by heart and how to take good care of them. Protecting them from the threats of humans, of the nature, thank to him now there are lots of turtles in the sea around Gili Meno, which was not true 20 years ago. He is also very humble so you will not see him bragging about what he is doing, he's just doing it.

Masjid Agung Baiturrahman Gili Trawangan

Mentioned on
Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The Masjid Agung Baiturrahman located in Gili Trawangan attracts tourists to the island because it is a significant mosque for the 88% Muslim native population of Lombok. Despite complaints from some tourists about the noise from the mosque, it should be respected as part of Indonesian culture. Its beautiful design and daily call to prayer add to its charm, making it a peaceful place for visitors who appreciate listening to sholawat and adzan.
Beautiful masjid with very friendly and open-minded people who manage it. What’s interesting to know is that there is a remaining Japanese cannon from WW2 inside the masjid because the locals wanted to preserve history. Something that really bothered me after reading some negative reviews here were from people stating that Gili T is a party island and the locals need to adjust to that or that the prayers were annoying etc. I find that mind blowing and people need to know that first but foremost Indonesia in general is a Muslim country so anyone should be mindful and respectful of that. In addition to this, Gili T belongs to Lombok and that also applies to Gili Air and Gili Meno. The indigenous people from Lombok and the Gili Islands are predominantly Muslim, which again means that anyone needs to be mindful of that. The fact that people can party and behave freely in any of the Gili Islands shows that the local people are open-minded, promote diversity and encourage different customs and behaviours. In parallel, anyone visiting the islands should also be mindful of how the locals live. It shouldn’t be a zero sum game but unfortunately people have this feeling of entitlement to tell others what to do and that is where they go wrong. So, for anyone here who is planning to post another ridiculous review, ask yourself the following: “did I try to have a conversation with the locals or do some research to understand how they live?”, “did I try to visit the masjid to speak with the management and understand how they see things that are happening in the island?” and “am I really reasonable when I expect the locals to stop with how they pray and live their lives but I can still party and behave how I want until midnight or 1 am?”.

To all the tourists who complain about the noise of the mosque... the native population on the island is muslim like 88% of the indonesians. I live in France and i don't complain about the church bell so PLEASE try to be more respectful of the country you visit or take a flight ticket for BANGKOK 👋
Morgan HAMDAN — Google review
It's important to remember that when we travel, we are guests in another culture, and it's our responsibility to understand and respect their customs and traditions. In Gilli T, the mosque's call to prayer, known as the Adhan, is a significant part of their daily life and religious practices. Equating it to a song is a misunderstanding of its significance. As visitors to Gilli Trawangan, a predominantly Muslim island, we should be aware of their customs and appreciate their hospitality. The people here are known for their warmth and kindness, and they welcome tourists with open arms. It's important to show the same respect in return. If the Adhan is not to your liking, it's essential to remember that you chose to visit this island, and it's a matter of personal preference. It's not appropriate to impose our beliefs or preferences on others in their homeland. It would be similar to complaining about the cold in the North Pole - it's simply a part of the environment and should be expected. Let's strive to be open-minded and respectful when we visit other countries and experience their unique cultural practices. This will not only enhance our travel experiences but also help us grow as individuals.
Alonso Alfonso — Google review
The most shouting and noisy mosque ever((( Shouts for whole hour non-stop, VERY loudly(( not all people are muslim, and they need to sleep and enjoy their vacation, here impossible(( some take away their sound system, let them prey by only voice
Лина Раменская — Google review
Gili's economy is almost exclusively funded by tourists, the majority of whom are not Muslim and would prefer not to be woken up at 5am, or listen to 30 minutes of prayer on the beach 5 times a day. Barely anybody at the mosque, suggest turn down the volume, especially for early morning call to prayer, even by Indonesian standards this mosque is extremely loud.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Masjid Agung Baiturrahman in Gili Trawangan and perform Friday prayer. To be honest, I was not expecting to find such a beautiful mosque in a tourist spot filled with hotels, bikini shops, and alcohol vendors. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that many of the workers and sellers on the island are Muslim, and the mosque is a testament to their devotion. The mosque is well-built and can accommodate a large number of worshippers. Despite the hot and sunny weather outside, the interior of the mosque was cool and calming. I was particularly impressed to see whiteboards set up for learning Quran and Hadith, which shows that the mosque is not only a place of worship but also a center of learning. Performing Friday prayer in Masjid Agung Baiturrahman was an unforgettable experience for me. The atmosphere was serene and peaceful, and the sense of community among the worshippers was palpable. It was heartwarming to see people from different backgrounds and nationalities coming together to pray. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Masjid Agung Baiturrahman if you find yourself in Gili Trawangan. It's a great way to connect with the local Muslim community and experience the beauty of Islamic culture in a unique and unexpected setting

This mosk has one of the most annoying 'singers' of all time. Seriously makes me crazy!!! At 04:30 am prepare yourself to be waked by this singer at 120 decibels. I just can't take it anymore. Oh my god, it goes on for hours and hours!!! Not just a prayer here and there, NO! They feel the need to do 30-minute sessions of Allah Akhbar 6 to 8 times a day. Not trying to be disrespectful but this is just crazy, the island is 80% foreigners and tourists, yet they still continue like the island is full of hardcore religious people. I was curious and checked one of the prayer gatherings, barely anyone attends so why 'sing' for hours a day? It's a mistery for everyone on the island. Eventually it made me leave the island and go back to Bali after 6 days, i just couldn't take another minute of this. So happy now that i'm gone.

The Gili Trawangan Turtle Hatchery, located on the island's harbor, offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe and learn about these fascinating creatures. While there is only one swing nearby the hatchery, a more beautiful one can be found on the other side of the island. The island also boasts hotels with excellent customer service and picturesque sunsets.
Don't waist you time there to look for a swing nearby the harbour. You will find only one there, but the really nice one is exactly on the other side of the isle take the short cut or a 'taxi', the nice hotels are also on the other side of the Isle - beautiful sunset, very good customer service. They played some movies in the evening.

Gili Trawangan, the largest of the three Gili Islands, is a popular destination known for its WWII Japanese tunnel, hotels, and lively Irish pub. The island offers spectacular coral reef views that attract snorkelers and divers from around the world. While most visitors to its snorkeling spots are international tourists, the island also sees many domestic travelers. With frequent speedboat connections to Bali and mainland Lombok, Gili Trawangan provides more facilities than its neighboring islands.
The mountain view across the sea makes the scenery splendid. I loved the zero-emission transportation on this island. I think the must-see spot in this area, besides the beautiful coral, is the underwater sculpture. But, it might need some effort because of solid ocean currents over it. So, let's come here, everyone!

Beautiful island to visit if you going to Indonesia. Some points to keep in mind though, it takes pretty much the whole day to get from Bali to Gili Trawangan. You would start at 6am taking a 90min taxi ride to the harbour, then there's always a huge rush to get on the boat especially during peak season and it's poorly managed so even if you got a ticket early than someone else you might end up missing the boat, so you got push through to make sure you get on. You end up waiting on the harbour 2-3hrs then its a 2hr boat ride, so by the time you reach you will be exhausted. Another thing is the weather can cause cancelations, so always keep one day buffer while going and one day buffer returning. I saw many people who missed their flight from Bali coz they were returning the same day from Gili T and the boat got canceled. The best option I've found is take an inbound flight to Lombok directly or from Bali depending where you are coming from and then 90min taxi to the harbour and 10min boat ride to Gili. There's more number of boats and easier to get there. All in all it's worth the journey, the island is beautiful, people and friendly and it's very safe for tourists. Keep at least 3-4 days for each island else it's not worth it. The east side of the island is the party and night life and the west side is the quite romantic side.

Gili T, as it’s called, so much of hype about this place, cleanliness wise, it’s a zero. Rubbish is every where. The sea is only nice when it is high tide and when it’s low tide, you would see lots of rocks around it. Every 50m, you would come across a bar & restaurant with live shows which is too noisy. A plus point is the snorkelling trip.

Nice island with lots of things to do. Snorkeling, diving, party, welness, cycling etc. Keep in mind this is a party island. There are corners that are quieter but generally busy and lots of music in the night. Prices are cheap and ATMs available. Could not find a pharmacy on the island but doctors and supermarkets for plasters etc.. short trip over to meno and air. Nice place for sunsets and little cafes.

The island itself is fine, but the majority of those working on it are ignorant and rude. I am deeply disappointed. Not everyone, but most. Here's why: 1. Near the helipad, various banned substances are openly sold. While cycling, you're directly offered drugs. Drugs are illegal in Indonesia, so why does the police allow such open sales? 2. Beach vendors are also very annoying. You're trying to eat at a cafe, and they shove goods in your face. I go to a store when I need something, not to the beach where I want to eat and swim. 3. Abuse of animal rights. Poor horses stand without food or water in the heat. Why not use electric tricycles like in Boracay? Does Allah approve of animal suffering? 4. I've often encountered terrible attitudes from workers, ranging from simply mean to outright attacks. Ignorant, rude, and if given the chance, I'm sure they would literally tear tourists apart. Gili is a great place, but not because of its people. There are very few good people on the island. We came as guests! I behave more than decently, but that doesn't mean I'll tolerate rudeness from locals. The peak of their behavior is during Ramadan. Once, a man who sold me a boat ticket (which left an hour earlier without warning) yelled at me on the boat which I caught myself cuz I was not able to wait next few hours, that we whites came here and insulted us. We are insultes, me personally? Can you imagine? Is that normal at all? Fasting is your choice, if you can't handle it, stay home and avoid interacting with people. I wish more attention was paid to the locals' terrible behavior and rudeness. I'd like to see how they would react if tourism halted and no one visited anymore. A bit more, and soon there will be killings and robberies of tourists on the island.

I’ve been to some isolated islands in some countries and I can tell one thing that makes tourists unhappy or upset is the tricky tickets whether it’s harbor tax, unexpected entrance fee, or whatever people call it. I don’t mind to pay IDR 10.000 per person as an entrance fee but I don’t want to line up AGAIN just to pay that. The government should add that to the tickets from the harbor so the tourists don’t need to wait again after two hours in the boat and few hours delay. But this voice will not be heard by the government because all they want is the cash! The island is pretty. However still lack of waste management (as many part of Indonesia). I like the idea of zero motorbikes and cars but there should be legal regulations about how many hours the horses can work. And to be honest, some tourists like that information to be public so there will be some appreciation to the local people. I can’t say that for the next couple of decades this island will still be beautiful but this year 2022, you can enjoy the tranquil life here.

It’s a dream island. Love this place so much. It’s a fairly small island, life is very slow here and I enjoyed every second of it. Sunrise here is amazing, the sunset as well. It’s not hard to find good food here, some are vegetarian and vegan friendly. Local people are really friendly here. Riding bike around the island is very much recommended. snorkeling and island hopping are both recommended activities as well. if you’re lucky, you will get to see turtles at the turtle beach. ❤️ Gili Trawangan, I will be back!

Nice small island, you can only use cycles and horse carts for traveling. There is good part of the island near the harbour were you will find most people and there is a shady were you will not feel safe. There is a roadside market though on the other side of the island.

Nice and busy island. A lot of diving and snorkelling spots. Prices of food are good. Nice night market. A lot of young people. Plz don’t ride the horses over there. And enjoy the vibe up there. Always be nice to your staff of the hotel or bar Super friendly people and respect them Plz give them a tip or a little extra 👌🏻

The absolute best place. So beautiful and a must to visit. The island is a vibe, the nightlife is great, the people are amazing

Crystal clear beaches and live music in the evening. It is the busiest of the other 2 gili. Around Gili Trawangan you will find the possibility of renting fins, snorkeling masks and rock shoes or you will find people who will sell you snorkelling to see turtles. Outside the tourist area there is a lot of poverty. Unfortunately it's something that no one sees. The thing I didn't like is that they exploit the horses a lot. They didn't give him water or food all day. On the island there is the possibility to rent bicycles for little money, please DO NOT TAKE horse carriages. I heard them screaming in pain, they are exhausted. They cannot carry 40 kilos of suitcases + 100/200 kilos of people. If all tourists avoided taking them, this thing would end. Thank you.

Very cool island; stay at the west side, where it is less crowded and you can watch the great sunsets; do a snorkeling tour!

Gili Trawangan is like a dreamy island with beautiful beaches and clear blue water. It's special because there are no cars, only bikes and horse-drawn carts. You can explore the island easily and enjoy the relaxed vibe. If you're feeling adventurous, renting a bicycle is a fantastic way to discover the island at your own pace, taking in the scenic beauty and coastal breeze. The underwater world around Gili Trawangan is fantastic for snorkeling and diving. It's like a colorful underwater city with fish and corals. Don't forget to catch the stunning sunsets on the west side – they're breathtaking. People on the island are friendly, and you can try delicious local food in cozy beachside cafes. These cafes add a special touch to your island experience, offering a perfect setting to unwind with your favorite drink and enjoy the panoramic views. Fresh seafood, vibrant colors, and artistic decor make these cafes a delightful part of Gili Trawangan's charm. You'll find renting a bicycle is convenient, allowing you to explore the island's nooks and crannies effortlessly. Accommodations range from cozy huts to nice resorts, so there's something for everyone. Evenings on Gili Trawangan are peaceful, and you can enjoy a bit of nightlife if you're in the mood. The best part is that everything is close by, making it easy to explore. Whether you're into adventure or just want to chill, Gili Trawangan is a little piece of paradise where you can forget about time and make beautiful memories.

If you have time and money, visit this island at least once in a lifetime! lately, Gili Trawangan is very crowded and touristic but the beauty of this island isn't vanished. Just take a few hours to walk around the island, it's just a small island. If you don't like walking, stroll around the island using bicycles. You will see a quiet place, without any pollution and public transportation, with beautiful blue beaches along the road. Breathtakingly beautiful!

Gili Trawangan is a tropical paradise! The crystal-clear turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and vibrant coral reefs make it an idyllic escape. Snorkeling with turtles was a highlight, and the laid-back atmosphere of the island is perfect for relaxation. Enjoyed stunning sunsets and a diverse range of dining options. A must-visit destination for those seeking serenity and natural beauty!

Amazing island with plenty of things to do. Great for families, couples, or for the solo partier. Small island but big enough for everyone to do the things they like. Vibrant party vibe on the east, quieter on the western sunset side. Cidomo horse carts are the only primary transport for cargo, the rest is all about renting bikes, or walking. Spent most of our time in the resorts on the western side. Did some snorkeling. Hit up the full moon party. And the New Year's party. Did a lot of pool siestas and watched many sunsets on the beach with great beats provided by DJs and live musicians. Oh, and the mushroom happy juice. The perfect vacation!

Going back in time, where life is much less hectic than your average daily grind. Biking everywhere, great vibes and food, amazing shores for your vitamin sea needs. Whether you're into sunset or sunrise, both are easily covered in this island. During Sunrise (east) you'll get the view of Mt. Rinjani and sunset (west) you'll get the view of Mt. Agung.

Kayu Cafe and Restaurant is a beachfront eatery in Gili Trawangan that offers a blend of Indonesian and Western cuisine. The cafe prides itself on its environmentally friendly practices, using alternatives to single-use plastics. Its rustic wooden decor and chalkboard menu create a laid-back atmosphere reminiscent of independent cafes in British Columbia, Canada. The menu features healthy options catering to raw, vegan, and organic diets.
Amazing place to eat. You won't have to wait an hour for your meal!!! Service is really fast (considering Gilli T). Staff are nice and friendly and food is tasty and fresh. Pastries are home baked. Cinnamon rolls are delicious and breakfast is amazing. Air conditioned is a plus!! You can eat in the beach, ground floor in the Cafe or upstairs.

Came here for coffee. We got small latte and medium latte. Was good but too much milk / liquid for a latte. Couldn’t really taste the espresso part. I was expecting the size of a medium latte would be the size of the small that’s given. Would come back for food. Menu looks good for food. AC is nice here too. Nice vibe.

Best food we had on Gili T without any doubts ! We had 5 meals there, everything from smothies, food, deserts were very very good !

Amazing cafe for breakfast. It's right across from the harbor. We tried a Sweet and Salty Bagel with extra smoked salmon, and I've never eaten such a delicious bagel in my life. Coffee is also the best and don’t miss the banoffee cake. You have to definitely check it out!

Lovely little cafe close to the port. We came for breakfast and had the spinach feta omelette and a smoothie bowl. Both were really tasty and the iced coffees were BANGING! Nothing fancy but good food and chilled vibe. They also donate some proceeds to the cats and horses on the island and have lots of good vegan options. We’ll definitely be coming back whilst we wait for our ferry.

They're in my top 3 restaurants on Gili T. Can order extra vegetables. Fresh coconut with spoon for the coconut meat. For example buffalo cauliflower or jackfruit wrap very good. The only negative is the extra service, tax, and credit card fees. But you pay a little more for the quality.

Baguette for Banh Mi was really crunchy and nice, but filling.... 😡 Quiche, the base was good but again I don't think shitake mushrooms work for quiche. But quite decent, the portion tho... It's huge.

Thank you for the very nice service and atmosphere. Delicious food I was looking for a gluten free option and got a solid portion of Chicken Provnacale 😄 the wife had the Buffalo cauliflower salad. pineapple juice. and take out a gluten-free cake. a place worth recommending! Absolutely loved this cafe in Gili! We went there twice for brunch because the food was so good! The ambience is perfect to have a chill brunch or to even finish your work while sipping on coffee. Our favourite dishes were 1) the spinach English muffin 2) breakfast burrito beef 3) red pesto pasta chicken Ofcourse their iced mocha with oat milk was yum! Must visit when you are in Gili!

Visited this cafe because my friends recommended it. When I arrived at around 11am, the cafe was a bit packed because it was almost lunch time. Luckily we found some free seats outside, overlooking the harbor and the strait. I ordered sushi maki while my mum ordered nasi goreng. Price and taste are good. A friend of mine ordered a cinnamon roll and it was delish too! Because we loved the ambience and the food of this cafe, the next day we came here again fore lunch. This time I ordered egg ben and my mum ordered lasagna. Again, they nailed it. Would recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Gili Trawangan.

I highly recommend Kayu cafe as a very tasty western cafe to stop by when you are on Gili T. They offer a huge menu with super tasty coffee, food and pastries! Also, like in many spots on the island, the service is very good, staff is super friendly and polite! We especially loved our sweet Waitress - her name was Suryani and she was very sweet and courteous! We would love to return to Kayu cafe on our next visit !

We came here as soon as we landed at Gili for a quick juice stop. The Minty Skin Tonic has a very unique taste. Meanwhile, the pineapple and watermelon taste from Tropical Refresher reminded me of the juice I always drank in front of my school back in the day. Sweet and fresh!

This is the best place for breakfasts on Gili T. All dishes were delicious and, what is also important, they were fresh, big, quickly prepared, good, and with stable quality, like McDonald's. I ate there about 15 times during my long stay (3 weeks) and can say that I had no issues with the food or my stomach afterwards. They have an awesome smoothie called Green Mustache which is a jam! By the way, all breakfast dishes are worth trying. My favorite was avocado toast with real (not ham) bacon. The iced long black was also good. They also have delicious desserts! I ensure you that the lemon tart, banoffee, and chocolate tart are the best. If you like experiments, you should try the avocado cheesecake! It has a smooth taste with a small avocado note at the end. The fruit platter is also big and good to go with :) The staff is always kind, charming, and ready to help. Keep doing this!

Walked by and was captivated by the atmosphere inside and variety of pastries and food. Had a pineapple juice (orange not available), an ice tea and a bananoffee pie slice. Very friendly staff, very quick service. Bananoffee was good but slightly too much gelantine or other gelatinous binder. Ice tea simple and good, Pineapple juice same. Good experience, I'll be back.

Note: * +16% service charge on top of the price stated on the menu. Yet you have to queue on the counter & pay instead of having a proper table service. Other establishment such as Coffee & Thyme did not only have table service, but also already included tax+service charge on the menu. * +3% for credit card charge, no paywave, and only available for payment on the first floor. Second floor is for cash payment only. * if paying with cash, pls check your change. The counter lady 'forgot' to give me the right change. * Service: 4/5 - Beside stated above, other staffs are friendly. * Cake (lemon tart): 5/5 - Pleasantly delicious & have the right amount of sweetness. * Coffee (hot latte): 2/5 - Unfortunately below average :(.. the milk texture is lacking (taste like adding UHT milk to coffee). * Toilet: 2/5 - so dirty * Atmosphere: 3/5 - nice decor, but there are many flies even within the indoor seating on the first floor.

Great place to get some amazing food Vegan & vegetarian options available. Plus vegan cakes. The vegan snickers bar was great. Inside aircon seating as well as outside and upstairs. Avocado on toast was great

worst customer service and food I have ever experienced! The cream cheese spread and mushrooms tasted rotten and when I asked for extra bread to have the avocado with it they were angry for not wanting to eat my food and should've let them know to have the spread aside before ordering my food assuming it'd taste horrible!!!!!!! and charging extra for just a single slice of bread!!!! Make sure to check out the cafe next door which is called "Hello Capitano" for an amazing service, delicious breakfast, and tasty coffee. would NOT recommend this place.

I like coffee and desserts here. And their food is not bad. I came here often. but there is a big minus - its staff. There is a lot of people from staff, he stands behind the bar and talks loudly - this is not comfortable for the your customers, they has nothing better to do and when asked to take an order - they refused. Why so much staff if they can't even take an order? I hope owner or manager get it

I ate here twice in one day. The food is fantastic and incredibly fresh. For early lunch I got the avocado toast, breakfast smoothie, and vegan Snickers bar. All three items tasted delicious and were super flavorful. I was honestly surprised at just how good it was. For dinner I got the Kayu burger which was also excellent and their fried are thick and have skin on and were also SO good. The only thing that was kinda meh was the milkshake (it was too icy for me and not really creamy ), but I'm not deducting in the rating bc overall this place is great, clean, friendly staff, and really diverse and delicious menu items.

I only came for the coffee. I like to have coffee first thing and I found many of the cafes were not ready when they said they were open and plenty of them have bad coffee. I walked into this place at 7am when they said they opened, They were. I had a really good coffee and that was it. I like a piccolo - I know first world issue but this was one of the few places that understood and made a great piccolo. We went every morning from then. Very nice cafe inside and I saw the plates of people eating and the looked great.

I had lunch here at Kayu, the Halloumi Salad + side of smashed Tofu. Everything was delicious, well done, with flavour. Price was also OK, the place is beautiful but small so need to be lucky to have your space! It has wifi and good sweets also.

Good cafe to work a bit. Good AC. Not good that they charge you an extra tax when you pay. Not fair that is not shown on the menu. And like many places they charge you 3 % porcentaje extra for card payment. But not every place in the island is charging this percentage. So it’s two taxes that you were not expecting.

Casa Vintage Beach is a charming bar and cafe located in Gili Trawangan, Indonesia. The venue offers a unique experience with its focus on Jamaican cuisine and vintage colonial decor. Guests can enjoy the laid-back atmosphere surrounded by lush plants, large windows, and eclectic artwork while listening to oldies music. This beachside spot provides various activities such as beach soccer, hammock relaxation, and sunset watching.
I would definitely recommed you to spend an evening at this place if you have time. It is not just food but the whole experience. Johnny advises well on what to eat and pairs the main dish well with the sides. He really cooks with love and would never serve something that isn't close to perfection. It could take a while before you get your food because of it, but it is 100% worth the wait (we ate at 2 other restaurants on the island and they took long with not even half as good results and company). The salad was amazing with homemade Tzatziki sauce and served in advance, so that it was easier to wait for the beef stew, which was well spiced and the meat very tender (owner even asked how spicy we like our food and cooked accordingly). You have to try their homemade banana wine! You have to make a reservation a day before because the ingredients are bought fresh on the day and some dishes (like stew) take half a day to cook. Just text them or pop by the place. As students we try to stay on a budget, but for this place it was no issue at all to spend more.

Hidden Gem! Such a nice location. Especially if you manage to get a seat right on the beach for sunset. The food is great. We ordered the Jerk Chicken and the Yellow fish curry and both were very good. The smoothies and fruit wines were very nice too. We had the mango wine. The array of spices they have is pretty impressive too, they seem to grow, dry and pack them up for sale too. Such a nice relaxed vibe. The owners are from Jamaica and they were in the kitchen. The staff are very attentive but easy going at the same time. Highly recommended!

wow wow wow, this place provided a true taste sensation! Friendly staff and a chill atmosphere. It is surely one of the best restaurants on the island. The dumplings... where do I start... and then the chicken... It fell off the bone, so tenderly prepared, delicious! Oh yes, the Langos, definitely try it as an easy tasty starter. And don't forget dessert. They use herbs and ingredients from their own garden. They have a homemade wine with various flavors, very surprising and refreshing. We are curious about the other dishes, tomorrow we will go there again for dinner!

Wow, where to start with this little hidden gem on the Sunset Coast of Gili T. From the relaxed outdoor decor to the herbs and spices being laid out in the sun to dry, from the very beginning I got the impression that the food would speak for itself. Being from Miami, FL, I am very familiar with Jamaican cuisine and I did not know what to expect when I ordered the Jamaican style Chicken dumplings l, the casava chips, and the bold but delicious Jamaican chicken curry. All I can say was that it was an explosion of flavor and of course spice, that literally brought a tear to my eyes. The food was top tier and presented in a fashion of the likes of the high end restaurants of modern cosmopolitan cities like Miami, Sydney, London, Or Barcelona. I was left speechless in such a good way. Don’t even get me started on their home grown organic wines which included flavors like dragonfruit and pineapple. This is a Must go for anyone visiting Gili T. Bravo, to the chef and the wonderful staff who graciously greeted me as I paid for my meal.

Advice to make reservations, I saw the waiter turning away customer (you can actually dine at the beach ) there is table & chairs situated near the sunset beach , we prefer to be seated at the beach watching the sunset while having our dinner here . The ambience was lovely 🥰. One of the better restaurants around at Gili Trawangan . Jamaican inspire food , chicken , beef and fish was fresh and tender infused with flavorful spice and herbs .

I would say without doubt the best restaurant, including atmosphere on Gili T Food is great and the dining experience super. Can only recommend it, Indonesian with Jamaican influences or Jamaican with Balinese influences as you wish to put it. Nice presentation, great taste and good drink's... Lovely place, tasty food, large plates, portions are not too big though, I'd say standard for Indonesia, good enough for a small person. They have only 5 tables, so it quickly gets full. There's wine made of fruits like pineapple, passion fruit, strawberries... kinda weird but interesting. Not my favourite. The atmosphere is really nice, definitely a good place.

We had such a lovely and delicious sunset dinner here. It is absolutely gorgeous over here, and the food was fantastic The Caribbean patties were made from scratch and were better than any I got in the actual Caribbean. The jerk chicken was also absolutely delicious. The jerk flavor was more understated than what you'd find in the Caribbean, but it was all so fresh and clean. A delightful meal Oh yeah, and the bonfire 🔥

When visiting Gili Trawangan, it's important to be cautious about the local alcohol due to past issues with laced spirits. However, the island offers more than just parties and beer. The Trawangan Night Market is a popular spot for families and backpackers alike in the evening. It features open-air traditional food stalls offering affordable grilled seafood like crabs, king prawns, fish, and squid as well as local desserts.
It’s lil expensive but worth the visit. Shoutout to the guy who works at the very first store. He is doing his best. If you love seafood, I highly recommend black jack fish and spicy prawns. The fish was absolutely tender and the prawn was so flavorful. The inside of the market was super warm so I was literally sweating when I was dining that night.🥵 Overall great experience💓

Not so many options, the prices are quite expensive. 100K for medium-sized fish like Kerapu. 50K for half portions of green clam, which is not so fresh, and we ended up cannot eat it. Overall, the prices weren't on par with the taste. It's better to eat at the restaurant nearby. You'll get a better taste of food with the same amount of prices

Cool dinner place with plenty of fish & meat (mostly on sticks) to choose from. Various stalls have similar offerings and you get to chose side dishes with any sticks/ fish. We spent 200k IDR for a red snapper and 4 skewers (25k each) plus 2 side plates as well as 25k for desserts. Overall value for money could be better for being street food. Also heard other people getting way higher prices at the same stand

Our 1st stop for dinner at Gili Trawangan , we just walk here from our resort , place was smoky with the charcoal smoke , my friends who frequented this island told us to choose the 1st stall on my left hand side as the meat was fresher , we didn’t bargain much though , when you order the bbq meat , compliments of 3 till 4 types vegetables selection for you to choose , I choose brinjal , tofu , four angle beans and risoles , I like the vegetables from here . Yummy . Then we had fresh local orange juice and Nutella crepe as dessert . Ok for the experience

Ok but not cheaper Nice attraction for tourists who wanna feel a bit mir local, and only chance to get some dinner on the Island after 10 p.m. Quality seems ok and safe, variety is huge, prices are pretty much the same as in the restaurants at the beach. Might be worth to check out options in the back - surprisingly even beer had a different (cheaper) price there.

Great place if you want seafood bbq at night. I’ve tried several food stand but the tasty one actually located across the street. The one with blue tend and the price also lower than the food stand inside the market. Inside the market normally price for fish was 50k with rice, but the one outside the market will only charge you 30k. And don’t forget to try mie ayam ceker next to the night market, taste really good!

Place to enjoy your dinner in Gili Trawangan if you don't have much choices about where to eat. Open at night and they sell various kinds of seafood as well as green food (vegetables, beans, etc). Prices are varied based on what you order, so make sure to ask it first and what includes. I bought one big fish for 120.000 rupiah or USD 10 including rice and vegetables for 5 people. But it's not cooked well. Tell them to cook yours well when you order.

Bargain 60k per stick of seafood. Somebody mentioned the stall near the entrance is fresh & good. Free nasi campur when you order enough skewers. The sticks were grilled with a sauce which was very meh. The nutella crepe stall was delicious though..

Lovely food market from 6.30pm till late every evening - I’d recommend to try some Indonesia food! Produce quality is great and they cook it in front of you! Very very cheap! Tables and chairs are available to sit.

You should experience this place. They have a great range of fresh seafood and also skewers of beef, chicken and vegetable salads. They offer deals and tempt you to spend more... which is ok as it is still likely to be better value than most restaurants. It helps to get here early (before 7pm) and secure a place at a table and ideally one member of the group can anchor the space while the rest browse and choose. For the best seafood you may want to ask them not to use the standard spicy sauce. It seems an intense but worthwhile experience. Enjoy.

Loved the Tuna skewers but prices could be cheaper. I also think the meat should be protected from flies, maybe the food could be kept in containers, or with shrink wrap or a fan. Overall a nice experience but could be improved. Good assortment of sides with skewers.

Just a local experience here to have some grilled fish/seafood. Food is generally okay, some seafood prices are so high you might have to be very good at bargaining. I had the Grouper (ikan kerapu) for 150k (including rice and veggie), it’s so fresh and delicious. Tried the skewers (2 skewers of your choice Rp 50k including rice and veggies) and it’s a miss. But all in all, it’s a good experience!

I rarely like to leave poor reviews, but people need to know that this “night market” isn’t the best. I recommend going to enjoy the experience, but be cautious. Let’s start with the good things: fresh juice and desserts are safe and plentiful! The fish is pretty much the same at each stall and many are not on ice. The other foods you can get are room temp at best and the people working the stalls are constantly batting away the flies. None of this scared me away and we were adventurous… after sampling plenty of the ready made food, like mine goreng, tofu, tempe, samosas and spring rolls, we then ordered seafood skewers: octopus, calamari and mussels. They said they would bring them to my table, but didn’t so I went to ask for them and they were cold. They reheated them on the grill and we tried a bite of each (not much food to cause all the havoc we then endured). This is how we got Bali Belly in Gili T. I also want to clarify that my whole group is pretty adventurous and loves to try new food and we rarely have issues with adjusting to new cultures foods, this was a result of seafood not kept at a proper temp. So in all of this, enjoy the experience, but choose wisely. (If you end up like me, get the activated charcoal at the market, it will help!)

A real must if you are in Gili Trawangan. THE PLACE for dinner; satay and skewers, fish and seafood, made to order. All stalls have the same prices (arranged), so choose those you see best looking food. Usually the first one on the entrance from the sea, at your left, is the busiest and the best. If you are a group, send a friend to scout for seating, it's usually really busy.

Lots of people, not really crowded as in low season. Good food, still a bit pricey for locals but much less than a restaurant's price. Lots of options, and all have good taste too!
Cenna — Google review
The food here was great, you choose the type of seafood/meats you want, either on Skewers or whole, then they grill it for you fresh on the grill. This also comes with 5 different sides, which are all delicious also. The service was great also, all the workers were very friendly and helpful with ordering the food. They have crepe booths also and fresh juices, when you order they bring it to your table. The atmosphere is very lively, the staff in the booths are funny and friendly. There are also booths behind the food that sells other merchandise.

Great variety of fresh fish and other vegetarian dishes... All very delicious and tasty... A bit too hot and too much smoke from the BBQ, but absolutely worth a visit!!

Impressive selection of fresh seafood! Everything is fresh and cooked to order. Meals come with a selection of vegetable sides, sauces, and rice/noodles. Always negotiate the price beforehand to avoid surprises. The place is packed and vibrant - lots of people all eating together on long tables. Lots of energy around. Came here to get the king prawns and barracuda. Paid 300K for 2 prawns and 100K for 4 skewers of barracuda. Only bad thing was the guy mistakenly gave us an order of octopus which was sitting on our table for 5 minutes before he came back. I ended up paying 100K for it and no choice had to eat some of it despite being so full already. Nonetheless, this place is an experience.

Can't recommend this place at all. Shout out to the vendors who are doing their best but everything is just the same. The food is completely tailored to those who like bland food but think it's local. The fish is not fresh and usually covered by flies. You do get 5 sides when you order skewers but they're just cold and as bland as the rest of the stuff. Can find way better food elsewhere. It's just a tourist trap.

STAY AWAY!!!!!! Gilli T’s biggest rip off! Background: we’ve travelled Asia for a couple of months, last week in Bali we ordered a single stick for IDR 1,000 and on Lombok (in the top rated restaurant) a portion of 4 for IDR 20,000 We approached the stall, located front right corner as you face the beach, and looked at the menu. The server was chatty, very outgoing. We asked for chicken sate and the server immediately picked up 4 sticks (important to remember this), we then chose another 4 varieties and he picked up 4 sticks each time. The advertised price, as shown on the menu, was IDR 25,000 Food delivered, it was all ok, tasty, octopus severely overcooked but no dramas. Went to pay the bill, to find it was 4 times the expected amount! The server pointed out the cost shown was PER STICK, plus a COOKING FEE! My Wife asked where this was shown on the menu, and he laughed, and was very disrespectful. He pointed out (which we didn’t check) everyone does this. We asked for a receipt, which he got wrong, added extra we hadn’t had, and got the amounts wrong. Utterly terrible, staff don’t care, they want your money and want to rip you off. Total cost for the satay was €40! NEVER GO HERE!

Something you have to experience at least once. Good food, very cool atmosphere. Always ask the price before hand. Choose the ones that are a bit more busy so the food is more fresh. If you can't handle smoke from bbq's don't sit inside the big tent. Try some sweets for desert for sure!

If it were possible I wouldn't even give it 1 star. I ordered a lobster, price was very different on the menu than he LATER told me. I paid 50€ for a lobster that didn't even taste good. I told him that I didn't want the lobster anymore after he told me the price and he proceeded to tel me that he had already cut and cooked it although I saw the lobster in a water bucket. Then he quickly threw it in the pan in front of my face and told me to pay now. That's not even the worst part. The lobster was served with steamed rice and vegetables. I took one bite of the rice then when I stood up to go leave I saw them brining my rice plate which had other dirty plates stacked on top of mine back to the kitchen AND RESERVING THEM TO OTHER CUSTOMERS. Extremely disappointed, praying I don't get Bali belly, and almost got into a fight with the owner. DEF DONT RECOMMEND!!! Update: me and my friend both have explosive diarrhea right now. Do what you will with this information. Foto of the stall:

Karma Kayak is a tranquil dining spot nestled in the northern part of Gili Trawangan, located within a resort on the island. Guests can savor Spanish tapas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as indulge in bonfire BBQ. The restaurant offers a serene ambiance where patrons can dine on the sandy beach and even take a refreshing swim while waiting for their meals.
Such a stunning place! We were staying here for 4 nights and couldn't have chosen a better place to relax. Staff is absolutely brilliant, funny and friendly! Rooms are clean and spacious and food is delicious (vegan poke bowl, drunken pineapple; can't remember everything we ate). They also give you a big bottle of water you can refill for free. Lovely place to see the sunset, afterwards they light up lanterns and candles. It's also a short walk to another beach where we were snorkeling and saw a turtle. Thank you for making our holiday perfect, we will definitely be back!

The restaurant was close to our hotel, so we decided to eat there on our second evening on Gili Trawangan. The food was really fabulous and the waiters very attentive and friendly. They even have vegetarian and vegan dishes. We were so thrilled (great food, good value for money, friendliness, fast service, lovingly arranged food) that we went there again for dinner the next day. Really a great restaurant with a nice atmosphere right on the beach. Also positive to mention is that you can order water in a pitcher (and not in a plastic bottle) and the restaurant has not used plastic straws since 2017. Really a great restaurant and thanks again for the recommendations regarding mosquito spray 🙏

My stay at karma Kayak was nothing short of fantastic. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The staff were helpful and kind. And the food was some of the best I’ve had in all of Indonesia. the Asian chicken salad and the tacos were outstanding. If you are vegetarian you will have loads of options. My only regret was that I didn’t stay longer.

We have just had the BEST 3 days at Karma Kayak. It’s such a beautiful hotel with outstanding service from the friendly team, we travelled with two kids and the staff were so great with them. The rooms and restaurant are stunning, with great attention to detail and I love the colour palette. The restaurant is also a highlight. My husband says the hotel breakfast is the best he’s ever had and lunch under the trees on the beach has been a highlight every day, the crispy tofu and tacos and are so good! No plastic and a sustainable focus also help to make this an exceptional place to stay. Ending the day with sunset and a cocktail on the beach is perfect. We will be back!

Dining was fine and the atmosphere was fantastic. All of staffs were kind and always smiling except one staff. However one of staff was so rude to us. He used dirty slang to us to make joke. It was not funny and my wife upset for him. We will never visit again because of the staff. Because of the experience, I feel my whole day ruined!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but just had lunch on our first day and decided to come back for dinner the next day because we liked it so much. What did we like: - the very nice servers, always smiling and super helpful - the location: far from the crowd it is a very quiet and nice spot - the reef: if « swim » out you will have the best snorkeling experience on Gili T, you can swim to turtle point and the reef is beautiful on the way !! - I had the gourmet burger which was super good ! I highly recommend !

We came here for dinner and it was really good. I took the highly recommended bluecheese mushroom burger and it was super good. If you like it cheesy than you just have to take this one! Also the fries were good and they considered my wishes. My husband has the beetroot salad which was good but the meat was a bit chewy, sines goes with the burger meat.

Such a cute place, we had dinner here several times and it was good each time. Great sangria, delicious tapas and the staff is very friendly. Nice to sit for lunch in between snorkeling (spotted a few turtles just in front!) or during sunset.

If you have a structured plan and timing, don't visit the restaurant. Cannot say anything regarding rooms and actually unfortunately cannot say anything about food. We were planning to come here for a breakfast and when we just came they denied to serve us as the have fully booked rooms. The resto was quite empty. Like only 2 tables were there. So the excuse sounded weird. Even though on the menu it is written that outside guests are welcome to the resto. So if you have plans, don't come here. There is a possibility they will deny serving you.

Very nice hotel far from the noisy center of Gili trawangan. Friendly and professional service. Good position on the beach which is a bit rocky but with the rocks shoes you reach a beautiful coral reef with fishes and turtles. Nice swimming pool with sea water. Good restaurant and excellent breakfast. Nice rooms.

I've only eaten at the restaurant on the beach, but it was really good, great food served fast. Ordered the tenderloin, unfortunately the waiter did not know they were out of the tenderloin. So the owner came up to us and apologised which in my book shows humility and food service manner. Ordered something else which was great. But I'm coming back for the tenderloin another day! Update: Been there 2 more times now in 2 days. Both for lunch and dinner, tenderloin was back. And it was great! Go for it! Also the seared tuna salad - amazing

I’ve stayed at Karma Kayak in September and after all these weeks I can’t but think about how happy I felt there. Imagine you wake up and wherever you see people smile at you genuinely and you need to walk just a few steps to a beach where turtle greets you by peeking on the surface and you sip coconut water. This place became my happy place where I go to in thought when outside is grey and -3 degrees. Seriously go there. Now.

We ate a late lunch here and it was perfect. The small seating area has a cool looking design and the two servers really make an effort to make you feel welcomed. Food was fairly priced and I can recommend the tofu curry. They have vegan options available.

In replying of what the owner said: dear lady, as I told you, when we arrived the umbrella next to us was empty. I moved my sunbed to get the shade from the umbrella I had rented. if the beach is small it is normal that you will find people next to you, come on! the sun was turning and we would all have moved: if you don't want it to be like this, cement everything and fix the beds to the ground with nails. I repeat: nowhere in the world I have been scolded for moving a bed. you turned accusingly and told us we weren't “kings of the beach”. By the way, there were three of the people you rented the cot to and they occupied double the space occupied by us, but maybe you just had a little anger to vent with some customers (I read from the other negative reviews that you're not new to these behaviors). oh I forgot: the two boys you so lovingly saved from our intrusiveness ate at the restaurant next to yours, then you rented two sunbeds for a coconut or so. It's Karma baby! We had a very bad experience with the owner, a very rude woman (not Indonesian, Indonesians would have been much more polite) who came to us without even introducing herself and accusing us of having moved our sunbed under the shade of our umbrella and in this way of annoying the people next to us. She accused us of coming and throwing our stuff on the sunbeds and doing what we wanted. She canceled the bar order for our two drinks (obviously her bill). when we moved away from the sunbeds she took our stuff and moved it giving way to other people. nowhere in the world have we ever had problems moving a sunbed under the shade, absurd. I'm sorry to give this negative review because the guys on the staff, unlike her, are very kind.

Came here several times to eat while on Gili T and the food was fantastic. Great mix of local cuisine and more western food styles. Everything we had was so tasty and to have it right on the beach as the sun goes down, so wonderful!

We have stayed 3 nights here and it was a very pleasant experience. Rooms are spacious, very clean, a beautiful garden. The hotel has the restaurant directly on the beach, in the sand, under the trees and it is lovely to have there meals because it is shadow and you have water on your feet. Staff is very friendly and helpful and they rent us also bikes and help us also with laundry. Very good quality for the money we had paid.

Im judging just the restaurant, I haven’t stayed there. Best burgers in the island! Both, beef and chicken. Cocktails were also delicious as well as pineapple crumble. The ice cream added to crumble were to die for. :) Staff was super friendly, every one of them. :) the best part was watching the sunset lying on sunbeds at the beach the restaurant provided and moved closer to the water. Highly recommend stopping by

We were here to eat and drink. The food was good. We enjoyed the kofte, sate and pineapple dessert. Because we are European we could really taste the authentic taste of the dishes. The owner was friendly and took the time to answer some questions despite being busy with the construction of a new roof. The staff was also working hard taking orders and not standing still and doing some cleaning on the beach area of the restaurant when there were no orders. Awesome food, awesome service, thank you Karma Kayak. Olaf.

We had classic burger and beer at this place. The location was nice near the beach. And calming. The food was not very special. And the price for the area and that food a little high. I payed with card. They outed 3% on top, which is not very unusual in Indonesien. The connection from the Automat didn’t work very well and they were very rood. They acted like we don’t want to pay the food till they understood the connection of the Maschine in not working. Disney even apologised. I give a 3 star because the location. But recommend to chose the other restaurants in that area 😅🤷🏽‍♂️

I wish there were 10 stars to give! The staff was really welcoming, always helpful and kind. We even received a welcome drink and wet towels as refreshment, which was really a nice gesture in the hot weather. During our stay my wife was a bit sick. The owner was really helpful, she even offered to call a doctor if needed. Thank you again so much!!! I am just sad that we couldn’t stay longer there.

For a touch of opulence, I suggest Ko Ko Mo, an exquisite dining experience by the ocean. With melodious classical tunes playing gently in the background and serene waves harmonizing with the music, this eatery offers an unforgettable dinner. The chef, Matthew Blundell from Sydney, showcases his creativity through dishes that enhance Indonesian flavors alongside Western delights.
Came here for my birthday meal. We were set up under the bamboo on the beach where the table had a little more to it with flowers etc. this was a nice touch which we did not pay any extra for. The food itself was incredible. I had the steak and my partner who is veggie had pumpkin soup and a vegetable curry which she said was fantastic. This place has got my 5 stars for their service. The waiter was very kind and smiley. At the end of the meal all the staff came out and sung to me with a complimentary chocolate lava cake which said happy birthday on it. The cake was also incredible. The owner/manager also came out to greet us. Great touch by all

This restaurant was an absolute delight! The food was fantastic - we started with the avocado bruschetta, which came on unique, house-made bread that really added something special. We then both had traditional Indonesian mains, which were delicious and authentic. But the real star of the show was the orange creme brulee - it might be the best I've ever had! Beyond the incredible food, the service was excellent. The staff were attentive and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable. But the best part might have been the location. The restaurant is right on the beach, and we were lucky enough to snag a romantic table on the sand. It was the perfect setting for a special evening. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. If you're looking for a delicious meal, great service, and a beautiful location, this is the place to go!

Delicious food with views to the beach! I had ayam taliwang, the portion size was perfect and it was very flavourful. I would also recommend the beef rendang which is similar to the ayam taliwang, my brother had it and claimed it was great! The rest of my family had sashimi-grade tune which was very fresh and a very generous serving for its quality and price, they also had the prawns which were cooked to perfection. Overall the staff were very friendly and kind and helped to make our dinner as comfortable as possible.

Came here with my partner only a couple of nights ago for an early dinner and from start to finish this restaurant didn't disappoint. The staff here went above and beyond to dress the table and they explained the menu to a tee. They were prompt with the food service, and the flavours, as well as the presentation were outstanding. Yes, they were a little bit pricey for the island, however, well worth every cent. Would recommend!

Absolutely amazing, our waiter Rizal was so attentive making sure we had everything before we could even ask, the atmosphere is perfect, we chose to eat inside as we had been out snorkeling all day but the tables on the beach are absolutely stunning with the sunset back drop, but inside was nice and cosy just what we wanted. The food was perfect in every way possible from the fresh produce to the presentation, the serving size it was beautiful and the BEST on the Island if you want quality fresh healthy food. To finish off a wonderful meal we shared a creme brûlée and it was the the best Ive ever eaten in my life. If I could give this place 10 stars I would

Service and atmosphere were not bad. Just that the food was below average. Ordered pesto pasta and it was disappointing. Had to add salt on my own to bring out the flavor. Unsure about other food on the menu! My friend ordered fish and chip and it was average, I guess this can’t go wrong. Generally many things on the island were expensive. The price of their items were slightly more expensive than other restaurants.
