Art museum
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is a large and well-known museum in Birmingham, England. It has a wide range of exhibits, including treasures from ancient times to modern art. The highlight for kids is the Staffordshire Hoard, which includes some of the oldest pieces of Saxon jewelry ever found.
It looks like a very beautiful building, unfortunately we haven't been able to get inside yet. But you can look at the building too, it's quite beautiful, it's a pity that the works block some of the views.

The part of the museum that were open were hit and miss for me, I enjoyed the movie theatre section, but found most of the other exhibits a bit uninspiring, probably because the topics are not of interest to me. I would have liked to have seen the full collection as I believe there is better items currently unavailable due to the ongoing works. I must return one day and see the rest to give it a fair judgement.

Took my daughter to see an exhibition to be honest I can’t remember what it was but I was intrigued. The process of buying tickets online and the set up inside was impressive. It was nice to get a bit cultured so to speak and I’d like to go back again for future presentations. Ideally situated within the heart of the city with transport links giving easy access you can’t complain. Definitely a nice place and would recommend to visit if you have the chance

A bit disappointed for travelling a long distance to find out that the museum is closed for renovations till 2024. So only a small area of the gallery is opened. Look forward to its reopening.

Closed for refurbishment but Victorian Radicals exhibit (paid) is open. Very informative on the Pre-Raphael’s and arts and crafts movement.

Magnificent building which has just been refurbished. Only partially open (free entry), but has enough to keep you interested for an hour or so. Very inclusive exhibits about the people that made Birmingham and a really interactive exhibit on the history of the city’s cinemas. Lovely looking Edwardian cafe and large gift shop. Can’t wait for the rest of it to be finished! (Took one star off as I couldn’t read some of the descriptions on the walls, as many were too far away to read and the type was small.)
Paula Pardoe — Google review
I always enjoy visiting this museum. Unfortunately it is undergoing substantial renovations at present and so only a couple of galleries ok Plus gift shop and Edwardian Tea rooms are open Having said that, it is still worth visiting since there are some interesting exhibits to inspect. I found the short animated film Child of Empire to be most interesting and moving. There is also an interesting exhibition about cinemas in Birmingham which could well bring back memories. The museum will close in December 2022 and will not open again until 2024 when it is intended to have all of the galleries open

Can't wait to come back to see the completed renovation. The wilded front steps around the fountain were stunning. The exhibitions that were open were a great incite into the city's varied and colourful past.

This was a fascinating museum to visit, displaying much cultural artwork and pieces related to Birmingham! There are exhibits focusing on certain city aspects like clubbing, racism and film; the third was the most interesting with its section Wonderland. A special addition is the old cinema seats that visitors are invited to sit in, also a separate corridor shows museum objects from over time!

What fantastic afternoon, we spent there! Beautiful building, inside and out! Lots to see especially this week as it's half term. Saw stuff they were showing the children that were part of my childhood😁 my kids were bright eyed over the exhibits and were interested to see and hear what the staff was explaining to them. The cafe was absolutely beautiful, and tastefully furnished. The whole place was a joy to go through and the kids enjoyed it as much as me!😊there was lots of exhibits to see and some to interact with, they also had a room for the kids to play in. The staff were fantastic and enthusiastic! Thanks for a brill day!😀
Patricia Vallely — Google review
The building from outside is magnificent. It is well kept in the inside with Marple floors and stairway. 2 floors are currently open for public. I will only give 3 stars as this museum had very very few valuable or historic items in display. All what I could see was modern paintings, photos, portraits, few LED screens and TVs with repeating videos. This city has a very old worldclass history in industry, steel, military, innovation and others during the 17th to 20th centuries . I am sure you could easily find thousands of anient pieces that worth being displayed. The good thing that it was free to enter that day.

Brindley Place is the only spot in Birmingham that provides you access to everything you need to enjoy the city. The canal side entrance is probably the most scenic. If you are looking for a place to eat it is a good place to start as it gives you so much choice, and if you can't find what you want there, then just walk down the canal and even more choices are available. It is also a popular nightspot with various pubs and bars. It is 5 minutes walk up the canal to the Cube the Mailbox for some shopping and more restaurants. Just across the Birmingham Canal is the Symphony Hall and Convention Centre as well as the Arena Birmingham. There are additional cafes in the convention centre and on the other side is the Birmingham Library. Another 3 minutes up the canal you will find the National Sea Life Centre Birmingham. Brindley Place is great anytime of the year, but really shines when it is warm out. It is about 15 walk from Birmingham New Street Station. I found the quickest route is, walk from the station to the Mailbox. Walk through the mailbox and come out the other end. Walk to the Cube and then down the Canal. You are there.

Nature & Parks
National SEA Life Centre Birmingham is a fantastic aquarium with plenty of different exhibits for children to enjoy. There are play areas and group packages available, making it the perfect family day out.
Great day out. I would advise to take your time and enjoy every part of it otherwise you can end up being finished in a hour, but it's an amazing set up. The glass tunnel with sharks swimming around you is incredible. Having had some disappointing experiences with zoos last year, it was refreshing to visit somewhere that you actually see every creature easily. Also the staff are very nice and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
Dal — Google review
Really liked the penguins. I think this is one of the biggest aquariums in the England. The tunnel gave a really good experience. My one year old daughter was sleeping all the time since we entered the sea life centre, luckily she woke up at the end and we came back to tunnel and spent a lot of time looking at the turtle, jelly fishes etc.. The turtle was also active when we passed through the tunnel for the second time. Would suggest visiting this place if you are in or near by Birmingham. Suggest to book tickets online in advance. If you are close to city centre then you can easily walk to this place. Enjoy the experience and walk around the Brindley place for more enjoyment.

Nice place to visit. I do feel it’s a little repetitive with the same fishes just being in different locations and personally the time goes by really quick. There could be some more interactive things to do for children. However, it is a great place for families to come with their children. There are a lot of beautiful fishes and other animals such as penguins. Best part is the tunnel as it gives an immersive feeling in the sea!

A must visit place for a family day out, group activity or a date. Plenty of wonderful creatures to see, very easy to follow paths and guided viewing. Lots of information available. There's a sector to touch some star fish, apart from that there's not much interaction available. Bring a snack and water bottle with you. Not a lot of places to sit down so be prepared to stay standing. I'd definitely visit again.
nayha — Google review
Went on a date here. I hadn't been in a decade, but it was still very fascinating to see again as an adult. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the new otters showcased, was very fortunate to catch them on time but at the same time feeding was a little late but it was worth waiting an extra 10-15mins even if it was just a 5minute watch. Would have appreciated being able to see these promoted online or elsewhere as we ran into the posters by chance, and whilst waiting, we couldn't figure out if we were at the right place to watch. Fortunately, there was a staff member close by who was not only friendly but very informative. I heard she shares a name with one of the sea turtles in the tunnel. Was really glad to have seen her as we would've otherwise missed the otters. Staff were approachable and informative, I commend the staff working at the start of the sea life experience by the photo booth, he had an amazing energy, and his excitement was so contagious, really sets your mood of high and happy for the experience. A lot of walking but didn't mind as it is a rarity to see such amazing creatures in the city. Grateful for the accessible option of having an alternative route to the Ocean tunnel as it had a plastic/glass floor at one point and almost made me turn back till I saw sharks laying there and found myself in awe again. It was a fun exhibition, a quiet day on the weekday with the occasional family with young children and a small school of students on a field trip.
J — Google review
I absolutely loved this place. Brimming with sea creatures and filled with things to learn and do, it is an excellent place to visit for everyone. I would recommend visiting on a weekday if you can, as the weekend can become extremely crowded, however if you cannot you will still be able to see most things. The staff are friendly and informative, and the exhibits are absolutely exquisite. I think it’s well worth the ticket price and can’t recommend this place enough.
Olivia Williams — Google review
Great place to see some aquatic animals. A reasonably sized place and good variety. The walkways are quite narrow when others stop to look, causing a backlog or an uncomfortable place to be. Like most tourist attractions is down to them letting too many people in. Great for small children, but I would go first or last thing to avoid the crowds otherwise you will see more backs of human heads then fish. There's a tunnel at the end where the fish and sharks swim above and on the side of you, but this is awful when it's busy, it's impossible to move freely. Toilets are available throughout but small, hard to close cubicle doors as it's a tight squeeze. Staff are friendly, opportunity to touch a starfish and trails for kids to get stamps as they go round. Obligatory gift shop as you exit to buy sea life branded things. Worth spending an hour at.
Aaron Payne — Google review
My recent trip to the Sea Life was a very exciting one. I had booked a combo ticket where I could visit both Cadbury World and National Sea Life, and paid £35 for the combined ticket. The place is located close to the city centre so you wouldn’t have to pay much for travelling and there are plenty of buses that take you there. The place is huge and a fun attraction for children and adults. We got to see a variety of sea animals and could even touch a few of them. It was great and a nice way of introducing marine life to kids. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Mehnaz Alam — Google review
The best part of the National SEA LIFE @ Birmingham is the 360 degree water tunnel. It gives you so much real experience of being in the water watching fishes so closely. Penguins at the start also are active and seem to be interacting with the visitors. This was our 3rd visit (1st was before COVID). The reason for 4 stars is due to the removal of the 4D experience, which is replaced by VR experience, which is good but we really liked the 4D experience. Suggestion: if you are visiting on weekends or bank holidays, try to book early slots to avoid rush. Parking: if you are coming by car, Q-Park Brindley Place is the nearest car park with 2 min walking.

Came to the Sea Life Centre today and had a fabulous time. Staff friendly everywhere was clean and I’ve really loved looking at all the fish and different things. Thank you highly recommend this to anybody who wants to take their children somewhere over the bank holidays or the summer holidays it’s a lot of fun
adam life events king — Google review
Looks very beautiful and sea tunnel is amazing personal highlight was the sea otters. Only lost a star due it to not being as big as other sealife centres, and it was extremely busy. The walkways need to be bigger and get extremely blocked up with pushchairs.
Steven Moseley — Google review
It was good seeing all the different sea life. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday on a bank holiday weekend. You could easily get to the front to see all the fish and sea life on show. The tunnels were great for the kids and got to see the giant turtle swimming over. The only downside to the whole thing was it only took us 50 mins to do the whole thing even though others say it takes 2hr. We took our time to allow our kids to fully experience everything on offer. Don't think we would go again.
Kyle Macken — Google review
Wonderful experience for the whole family. The kids loved it. Slightly busy in some places inside. The staff are absolutely amazing. Bit pricey on the gift shop but it was worth it. Would go again in the future. Loved the penguins.

Nice place to spend with family and kids. Kids really enjoy a lot to see big fish, seahorses, jellyfish etc. Parking is nearby within 2 minutes. Can complete around 2 to 3 hours. 360 degree tunnel is very nice to take photos and get good views of fish seeing in very close.

Used blue light card to book tickets as was coming back at £50 for two adults. Had the 2 for 1 voucher too which didn’t work for some reason. No need to charge so much when your in and out within the hour.
SamAdam Court-Fletcher — Google review
Really tired, dingy and overcrowded. Probably the worst Sea Life Centre I've been to. The enclosures for the penguins and otters are so small, it's thoroughly depressing. The walkways are really narrow and packed full of people with pushchairs, meaning you can't get past. It was so full when we went you couldn't even see half of the exhibits as there are so many people there. We had to wait for 20 minutes to get near the otters as it was so crowded. It's looking really run down and dirty, and smells terrible in parts. It's in desperate need of a deep clean. It felt very claustrophobic on the walkways and tunnels, due to the amount of people packed in, and children screaming and running around constantly. We visited at lunchtime on a weekday, expecting it to be quiet, but how wrong we were! I think adults only evenings would really benefit this place. I'm sure a lot of animal lovers wouldn't mind paying a little more for a less crowded, more peaceful experience. If you like paying a fortune to be stuck staring at the back of people's heads and have screaming kids running around you, you'll love it here. Otherwise, I really recommend you avoid this place.
Fiona Price — Google review
Absolutely loved my time there! I went on my own and had so much fun. The place is really well prepared for the visitors and the fishes seem to be all in good health. I wouldn't recommend the VR experience since it's expensive and it only lasts for a few minutes but the rest of SEA LIFE is worth exploring! Leave some money for the shop at the end! They have some fun items and you can even adopt one of the penguins! Book tickets in advance. They have student discounts.
Gabriela Luz — Google review
Hugely disappointing. The whole place felt cramped and crowded with all visitors slowly shuffling along or completely stationary at times. The experience was contained within a dark warehouse type building with cables, wires and ducting pipes traversing the ceiling, with no daylight or fresh air. However, there was a brief moment of relief when you step outside before entering the VR area. For us the Penguins end Jellyfish were the stars of the show. The lone scruffy stuffed seagull hanging from the ceiling and a Lego Pelican did not impress, nor did the plastic palm trees and squawking seagulls sound track. I shan’t mention the toilets, just look at the photo. Needless to say, we won’t be visiting again. The whole place needs a re-think!
Adam Holliday — Google review
A very kind staff member called Jamie was very welcoming and inclusive, he showed us around and gave us a great tour, I reckon you should give him a pay rise. Both Dan’s were also informing and helping. Thank you for the lovely and fun-filled visit. Please show Jamie this- from the three musketeers; Bella, Ada and Sofia.

We visited the sea life for a day out. Lovely place to enjoy as a family. We liked the talk and feed of otters. It has family room for eating and rest. The tunnel and penguins were also so exciting.
Fateme Mohammadi — Google review
I pre-booked the tickets for the sea life centre so that I don't have to wait.It was lively. Got to see many marine creatures. The tunnel is the main attraction. There is also a small shop to buy snacks as well as toys, key chain etc. I am so happy that I got to spend good time with my friends there. Kids would love this place.
JINU JOICE — Google review
I love all aquariums and I was lucky enough to get to go here supporting someone with a disability so I got to go free as a carer. But I have to say I was a tad disappointed as I thought it would be bigger. There were lots of amazing creatures to see, and by far the best bit was the tunnel, but we were done after about 45 minutes. There's a couple of photo opportunities that want to charge you, but at £19 per person, I really couldn't justify spending anymore. Staff were friendly, and it's all set out very well. I kinda think it's a bit dated now as newer exhibitions in other parts of the country are much more interactive and less aged. I liked it but I don't think I'd pay to go again. The shop is cashless which was disappointing as the person I support didn't have a debit card and so he couldn't buy anything.
David Grimmett — Google review
We visited Sealife on a Monday of the Easter hols and it was busy from opening. I was glad we were pre-booked as walk in tickets weren't available. The aquarium was well laid out and there was a lot to see, but given the numbers of visitors it was hard to linger and several things we missed or had to move on from quite quickly. The underwater tunnel was lovely but quite short. My toddler grandson loved the little tunnel under the clown fish - the perfect height for him! Personally I was delighted to find sea dragons! The staff were excellent - engaged, friendly and knowledgeable, particularly the young lady with the penguin egg and the young man by the sea otters. We actually spent just under an hour in the aquarium, then we found ourselves in the shop and out! It all felt a little hurried, and while we enjoyed the visit and would like to return, we did feel a little flat.
Fi Redmond — Google review
We booked our tickets on same day and it costed us more but I would reccommed to buy it in advance as it might save a lot of money. It was a weekend so it was so busy, but entry time we did not wait, it was an easy entrance. We went with a toddler and a school going girl and both the kids enjoyed seeing the sealife. One main attraction was seeing sea otters which I could not see in any other sealife in UK. There is no cafe or place where you can sit and eat but this sealife is situated in a busy area and you could find lots of cafe and restaurent just outside this placd. Parking is also nearby so no need to worry about finding the parking too. I would highly reccommend this place to visit atleast once.
Monal Birds — Google review
Loved it! The kids loved it too! It was amazing to see so many types of sea creatures and learning facts about them. The environment is so relaxing and rejuvenating. It only took us an hour to go through it all with young kids so it's on the pricey side and would stop us visiting regularly sadly, so lost a star there. The Kelloggs codes help!

It's an amazing place to visit, especially if you have children! The only tiny downside is that it's a cashless site... My son was slightly disappointed when he wanted to spend his pocket money. Otherwise a definite recommend!

Tattu is a popular modern Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of dishes and cocktails. The interior is sleek and contemporary, with dim lighting that allows for great photos. The menu features everything from crispy duck to pancakes, and the cocktails are some of the best in town. The chinese restaurant is open from Tuesday-Thursday throughout February for special menus during the Year of the Snake.
What an experience! We were absolutely impressed by the service because we made a last minute reservation and they seated us in the main dining room so short notice despite us not booking it. We were here for our 1st wedding anniversary and they made it a night to remember. The food was impeccable 👌 truly mouth watering. The cocktails were flamboyant sophisticated and cool. The service was above and beyond, so quick and efficient. I dropped my knife a fresh one was on my table in less than 30 seconds (I didn't even ask). 100% COMING BACK!

Beautiful place, definitely great for a special occasion. The food here was prepared and served to perfection. Servers/hosts were polite and professional. Gentleman called Niko was looking after us (table of 6) did an amazing job making sure our wine glasses were refilled and check if there's anything else he could do to make our visit memorable. He was professional and polite, never intrusive. Will visit again for sure.

Amazing experience! Food is fantastic and full of flavor. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, fantastic for couples and dates. Relatively pricey food and drinks compared to other places but you get what you pay for in quality and service, 2 people cost £270 when I went.

I'll be dreaming about this food for a very long time. Everything was delicious and melt in your mouth, service great and so beautiful. Only reason its 4 out of 5 for service is because I had a long wait time at the bar ( over 45 minutes) Would definitely go back, prices so worth it with food like this.

I booked a table as it was my partner’s birthday and it was phenomenal. The starters we had were amazing and the mains were perfect. This is such a beautiful restaurant with beautifully presented cocktails and food but also the decor of the restaurant itself makes the experience 10 times better.

Absolutely loved our dining experience here. Everything was superb - the food, the ambiance but most specially the service. Our server was a very friendly gentleman who was extremely knowledgeable of their dishes and had his own recommendations of what to order. It's a shame I wasn't able to get his name. All of the dishes were superb but the duck pancakes was definitely the highlight of our meal. It was definitely the best one that we've had and that's saying a lot because we always order aromatic duck whenever we see it on the menu. I definitely recommend and we will be back for sure.

A very nice dining experience. The first thing you notice is the beautiful interior, but Tattu has much more than that - it offers a very nice and holistic dining experience. Food is perhaps best explained as a western interpretation of traditional Chinese food. This does not make it any worse, on the contrary it's excellent. Made of good ingredients, well balanced taste and easy to find a good menu. Tried myself the modern sharing menu, which is a very large meal all together. There are also many nice drinks on the menu. The real cherry on the cake is the service - the staff is excellent, very professional and very friendly. Highly recommend a visit and will be back someday!

We came for a very special occasion, food was all very tasty. The price is very top end £130 plus per person, but that’s okay for a treat. The half duck was more like a quarter, small portions for noodles, the lamb cutlets were over done, not pink but still tasted good. Our waitress was very accommodating. Overall something definitely to try,

Perfect all round experience eating exquisite Chinese food cooked to perfection. This place is truly 5 ⭐️ no better place in Birmingham. Menu reasonably priced for the quality of food served. Great selection of cocktails set in a wonderful backdrop of cherry blossom and ambient music. Highly recommended.

Really cool vibe place. Food was really well presented (the presentation is an experience in itself), and elements were amazing (dim sum and ribs), but some of the food just average in taste/flavour (the egg and sausage rice for example). Service was good but not as attentive as could have been for the price of the restaurant. Unfortunately the music was too loud for us to be able to enjoy fully as could barely hear each other talk too each other.

First time at Tattu, definitely won't be the last! As soon as we arrived, the staff were attentive, our waiter was excellent, we told him it was our first time at Tattu, he helped us with menu choices and explained the dishes too us. Food was plentiful, very tasty and very well presented. Cocktails were delicious also. There was no rush to get us out, atmosphere was good. It may not be the cheapest, but you get an amazing theatrical dining experience. We went to celebrate a family members birthday. A wonderful treat we hope to repeat!

Came here from a recommendation from our friend who came for valentines. Went for dinner on Saturday night for my boyfriend’s birthday, the atmosphere was great. Good music, nice vibes could see everyone was enjoying themselves there, quite nosy but that’s normal for a busy Saturday night. We selected the Yin side of the restaurant which was absolutely gorgeous. Our server (Charlie) was so sweet, very attentive and answered all our questions and did everything to make us comfortable. She took very good care of us. We ordered off the seafood section and the food came out quick and was amazing, looked as good as it tasted. The drinks came fast and were very nice too. At the end they even brought out a cute little birthday message which I think was a really sweet touch on their behalf. It was all definitely worth the price in my opinion. Would really recommend to anyone who has been thinking about going and will definitely be coming back! Thank you very much to Charlie once again we had an amazing night.

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. The food was amazing from start to finish, we had the calamari, the Szechwan rock shrimp(the best by far), the lobster and prawn toast and fried aubergine. The main was the Chinese barbecue chicken which was out of this world, perfectly balanced, succulent, spicy. The desert was the spiced cake, perfect ending to a beautiful meal. The service was quick, our waitress was so friendly.

Our server Sean was amazing he recommended some great food choices and cocktails and made our experience easy and enjoyable. We celebrated my friend's engagement and she asked me to be her maid of honour and he went out his way to make it special and took some great pictures of us . The food was really nice and filling we had the lunch menu where you pick 3 items and added rice and noodles . He recommended a Chinese dragon cocktail as we was celebrating it was so nice aswell as the tattoo twinkle couldn’t really taste the vanilla but was very nice . I hope he got a big chunk of the tip ! Will definitely be returning . Samantha Phillips

We went for our wedding anniversary dinner date and would highly recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience. The ambience and interiors are beautiful as shown in the pictures. We had starters and main course meals and everything was delicious and filled with flavour, special mention to the slow cooked beef ribs. All the staff are polite and friendly. Sean who served at our table in particular was delightful, accomodating of our needs and made it a memorable experience for us.

Excellent welcome, noting our special occasion and seating us in a beautiful booth without asking to be, which was a very nice gesture also later bringing out a birthday message. Delicious and very well presented food - everything was well made and tasty. Our favourites were the dim sum - our waiter suggested we have done of our dim sum with our main course which worked really well instead of how we ordered. Dramatic cocktails were fun and tasty. Atmosphere is incredible with the option of yin and yang - fantastic decor, murals and deep house music to further intensify the experience - love it here! Can't wait to go back. Thank you Tattu.

A beautiful restaurant in every sense. 5 stars for everything. The food is delicious. Server was attentive, polite, and professional. Food is probably the best in Birmingham or probably in West Midlands. It's the place for special occasions! Great experience.

The atmosphere and the service was amazing. The food was delicious. Many vegetarian and tasty options. Portions of main dishes are small though, I recommend getting a side. I got the mock chicken and noodles as a side. Cocktails were good too.

First time eating at a Birmingham Restaurant for my birthday and Tattu did not disappoint!!! We were welcomed at the reception by a Front Of House who made use feel comfortable and led us to our table for the night. The aesthetic atmosphere was unreal, the flowers, the decoration and lights made it have ambience and settling mood. We visited on a Sunday, the vibe was great. The food was mouth watering, it was an exquisite fine dining not the cheapest worth every penny. The seats were luxury and very comfortable! Adriana which was our waitress was really friendly, polite and patient. She explained the contents of each food and drink that we ordered, and even made some recommendations on what to order. We didn't feel rushed or pressured to order and overall I will be returning whenever I'm in Birmingham!

Highly recommend it is are looking for that discord all meal. I will call or that the price of drinks is a bit steep - a bottle of beer was £7

The ambience of this restaurant is amazing. We had the vegetarian tasting menu; it was all delicious and the portions were a lot more generous than I was expecting. The thing I was most impressed by was the excellent service. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the meal, without being overbearing or interrupting the dining experience. They made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we walked in until we left the restaurant.

Service is impeccable, beautiful decor too. They’ll explain all on menu, halal options too. I found the taste of the food to be nothing special though! I was expecting super dynamic flavours. Company 10/10 x

Tattu Birmingham is a favourite of ours and this time didn't disappoint. We were in Birmingham to choose our wedding rings and we thought it would be nice to go for a nice lunch at one of our favourite restaurants. As always, the food was incredible and beautifully presented. We wanted one of the sharing menus and there was a prawn dish for one of the mains that we asked if we could change. The waitress was so helpful and went to ask if we could change a dish which we were allowed to do. We also chatted with the waitress saying that we'd been to choose our wedding rings and then she went away and came back with a lovely plate saying congratulations on your engagement and a fortune cookie. It was a lovely gesture to add to a wonderful meal. We will most definitely be back soon to try some more lovely dishes.

Woooooow💃💃💃💃💃it was the best date night ever . I mean the serene, clean and romantic environment, staff and service . It was top notch! I have started to refer friends and family. Adam attended to us, assisted with food choices and all our needs also with taking pictures😊😊. Oh! what a night out in a fancy restaurant with great pictures. Ella, she was so nice and lovely. I will give the staff 100/10, there was also a surprise happy anniversary on the restaurant. I will definitely come here again. The sea food and angry woke bird was so delicious. Thanks to the team; you guys are awesome

We travelled up from London for a birthday dinner. We were an hour late and they were really accomodating and understanding. There was a little bit of a wait when we arrived, and they gave us some complimentary nibbles. Adam, our server really knew about the menu and was really attentive and honest. The manager Hannah was also really wonderful. Thank you for hosting us!

Booked to celebrate for me and my fiancé’s getting engaged. Lovely service from Christiana and Mo. Both looked after us so much! Did a lovely surprise for us to say congratulations. I would really recommend, had such a nice time. Christina was lovely and gave us some good recommendations and Mo was lovely for sorting out the surprise sparkler and fortune cookie!

Great restaurant, We went with the set menu as we wanted to try different foods to what we would normally pick (emperors). Food was amazing and the cocktails were really good as well. We were served by Izzy who overall was 5 stars. Will be going again and recommend to all.

Fantastic place!! The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, very cozy and elegant. From the moment we sat down we have been greeted by the most friendly waiter Mo, who has very kindly shown us through the menu explanation all we have to know as it was our first time dining at Tattu. Mo has given us the best service, making us laugh and enjoy his presence :) We will 100% return and recommend this place to all friend and family. Also the food tastes as amazing as it looks, very rich in flavour. I am looking forward coming again very soon! Drinks were aesthetically pleasing, taking a big part in the whole experience! Thank you Mo for the most memorable night :)

Went for a anniversary meal on a Saturday night. We had the emperors tasting menu and a bottle of wine. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was great. Unfortunately we initially were sat at a table next to the kitchen and had to asked to be moved as was a little disruptive. In general the staff service was great but we felt rushed through our meal and it ruined the experience. We were given a 1.5hr booking (standard on the site and only option) the tasting menu is quiet a undertaking but found ourselves been hurried though it. After the meal we had almost half a bottle of wine left and within 5 minutes of finishing the desert we’re asked for the table back. (We had also been seated 15 minutes late) Normally wouldn’t be a huge issue but the meal for 2 was just under £400 and we would have expected that if we wanted to relax through the menu this may have been managed. I ended up waiting for my partner but he toilets with a glass of wine as felt the pressure to let them clear down. This really let down what was some incredible food. If you go, be prepared to part with a lot of money and possibly not have a lot of time. If I was to go again it wouldn’t be on a Saturday night. Tattu need to consider booking lengths as it felt like profiteering asking guests to spend money but turn tables so fast.

We attended Tattu for the first time for a 21st birthday meal. The food was delicious with great presentation and the atmosphere was comfortable and elegant. The menu can be confusing to understand but our waitress Charlie was excellent and explained it all to us and gave recommendations, she was attentive at all times and added to the great experience.

Modern European restaurant
The Wilderness is a modern European restaurant that uses seasonal ingredients and serves in a calm space. It is unique in that it incorporates art into its cuisine and offers a sensory experience like no other.
What a wonderful birthday celebration. We had a lovely leisurely family lunch with extremely attentive friendly service and amazing food. Really unique cocktail and wine list too. Thank you Wilderness team. P.S. if you are wondering whether to go for the £75 or the £100 menu, as we were, go for the £100 one - no regrets!

Easily one of the best tasting menus I have ever tried. The portions, although small, unlocked flavours I didn’t know existed. Worth the slightly more expensive cost for sure. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, and the atmosphere is a real vibe. Would highly recommend, particularly for special occasions.

The Vendor name that will show on your credit card statement after visiting The Wilderness is ANOTHER BAD IDEA. Whilst you might think that when you get your next statement and have to pay for it, hopefully the memory of the food and the experience overrides that. Down an alleyway in the JQ, The Wilderness wants to be different to the other Michelin/tasting menu gaffs in Birmingham. And I think they get it spot on. The pop up that they had years ago near New Street was, from memory, a bit more ingredients focused (there was a pudding with ants on it) and had a tree in it. This place is dark walls, dark furniture, guitar music, but I think the food is even better. Every dish on Tasting Menu 2 (there are three in total) was incredible including beetroot ice cream, pig cheeks, mackerel, pigeon. Service was great, wine was a mix of stuff from £40 to a thousand (luckily I didn't succumb to that bad idea), and the whole night was fabulous for our 10th wedding anniversary. Loved it.

Not our first rodeo and always an absolute delight 😍 The food is absolutely DIVINE, the presentation is wonderful, the ambience is friendly and inviting, the venue is quirky and interesting, and the tastes are nothing short of SPECTACULAR. Don't wanna spoil the surprise but want to give you an idea of how great this place is, so here's just a couple of pics 😁 In short, it's 3 hours of total bliss and it's worth every penny in my humble opinion. It's like nothing else and is SO much more than dining out. Can't wait to go again 😍 Big love and praise to the team - keep doing what you do, it's AWESOME! 🙌🏽😁

We'd booked to go to The Wilderness a while ago but unfortunately COVID came along and ruined our original plans. We finally visited for lunch on Saturday and it's fair to say it was worth the wait. We decided to go for the ten course tasting with a couple of glasses each of the 'hacked' wines. Upon taking our seats we were each given a complimentary glass of Prosecco and water and our meal began. The mix of courses were fantastic; starting with crispy pig cheek with an apricot gel and taking in steak tartare, turbot and mackerel along the way. Highlights were a fantastic beetroot ice-cream served with a rich ajoblanco and a tremendous mushroom and 'bread pudding' dish which was like the best version of mushrooms on toast you could possibly imagine. Service was slick throughout, each course was delicious and the wines were great, particularly the Chardonnay 2.0 and the Vermouth. The meal wasn't the cheapest but the food, service, ambience and music made it all well worthwhile.

Not been for 5 years, but had an excellent meal last night. Only did the smaller menu, but thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Really excellent quality, flavours and little surprises. Some may not like the heavy music and darker atmosphere, but i loved it. Will definitely be back sooner this time. A great restaurant and superior to some of Birmingham’s supposedly more superior kitchens. Go!

Expensive, but totally worth it.

This small restaurant in Birmingham is spectacular. The tasting menu was outstanding with no uninspired dishes. Delightfully prepared and elegantly served with a smile. The background music was not obtrusive, though personally I would have been happy either way, as it was exactly what I liked. Wholly 100% recommend...

At Adam's Restaurant, fine dining is given a modern twist with innovative cooking that relies on seasonal ingredients. The restaurant has developed a loyal following in the city, and diners are eager to take to social media to share their reviews.
It’s hard to find the right words to describe how fantastic Adams was. It must be one of the most elegant & stylish looking restaurants I’ve been to. The food is cooked to a very high standard. Every dish was unique & creative. Then the amazing staff really enhances an already fantastic experience. This is a destination restaurant and is a must visit for food lovers.

Had a fantastic lunch here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As we were lunching we went for the seven course tasting menu and a carafe of white wine and a glass of red rather than having the wine pairing. Each of the courses, and indeed the snacks, were delicious. Real standouts were the quail and the pumpkin custard dessert. Each dish was a brilliant mix of textures and flavours and beautifully presented. Service was great and we even got a little bottle of syrup each to make calted caramel coffees. Another fantastic experience at Adam's and hopefully one we'll be able to enjoy again.

Bold flavours, artful presentation and amazing service! The chef is unafraid to experiment with tastes that ensures your buds are in for an unforgettable ride. The service has to be mentioned especially where the priority is a satisfied and happy customer. If you have dietary restrictions they are willing to try and cater to your needs. Definitely a jewel in the Birmingham restaurant scene!

Some people like an afternoon at Old Trafford. Or perhaps Edgbaston for the same money. I suggest you immediately consider being drowned in flavour and innovation at Adam's. I'm watching a particularly precise construction at the pass when a creamy pink sauce is poured before "service please" I'd called. I sat at the Chef's table last Friday and was the only vegetarian option of 8 for the tasting menu. It was sublime and I highly recommend the experience of both menus. Their venison, their skate and certainly their satisfaction makes me want to return. The details of the meal I had have been captured elsewhere as I took copious notes while being entertained. I recommend you do what you can and enjoy James Goodyear and his staff and his kitchen asap. Huge thank you to Kim, as well, who guided me enough to not make me feel as though I was ever at risk of being lost or forgotten.

We had a lovely meal at Adams. As soon as we entered the quality of service shone and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. That high level of formal, but relaxed service continued throughout. We threw in a couple of last minute dietary requirements and it was no issue. The food was of a high standard and thoroughly enjoyed by the whole table. I have to say though, for me the front of house staff really made the evening.

First time visiting and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the tasting menu, the food was not the best in my opinion, a lot of the dishes were very salty and raw. I loved the dessert, overall will rate them a 6/10.

I have visited Adam's twice and I was very impressed, especially during the second visit. The tasting menu was very well-designed, and the food had great flavour combination and balance. Ambiance was good and the service was excellent. In fact, I find Adam's to be better than some of the two-Michelin star restaurants that I have been to! I highly recommend Adam's and I fully intend to return in the future.

If you spend this kind of money you would expect to leave a restaurant full, satisfied and wowed. We left hungry, confused and I suppose full of laughter from what we experienced. Maybe we aren't used to this kind of dining but it overall was not a good experience. The food was pretentious and not up to standard. Presentation was great but you need to combine that with a really satisfying result.

Overall great experience. But my problem with Fine dining will always be the portion size. Unfortunately it's too little but everything that was served was delish.

We went for our wedding anniversary and was not dissapointed. From the service to the food, the experience was brilliant. We went for the 7 course tasting meal, as we do not eat certain foods, we requested our dietary needs which they catered for. As I stated we were coming for our anniversary, the sent me a special menu where you can purchase balloons, flowers or cakes, which was a lovely touch, the wife was pleased when the flowers came out. Of course, being a Michelin star resturant, the food was delicious, I would defo recommend coming.

Dec 23 Absolutely knock out service, couldn't fault a thing. Perfect attention to detail. Taster menu sublime, especially the rabbit and rum baba courses. A wonderful couple of hours, totally chilled, the perfect treat to mark the end of the working year. Thank you! (Dec pics and menu from image 11 onwards) Sept 23 4.5/5. Dined here last evening for birthday/anniversary celebration. Second visit in four months. The tasting menu was varied and interesting, see pic. They accommodated my OH who doesn't eat red meat or chocolate. I've only docked 1/2 point as both dishes for one course were served tepid (lemon sole/lamb) the lamb was also chewy. (I offered this feedback and was offered another dish which I declined). I'm also not a fan of unisex toilets. The service synchronisation was a little hit and miss such that the spacing between courses was inconsistent. Our aperitifs were slow to arrive which then cut into the wine time. All this does not detract from a lovely evening. But often its the attention to detail which makes the difference, especially for a high priced evening. Will definitely return however. Thank you for the greetings cards on the table.

I visited Adams yesterday (23rd April) with my wife for our Anniversary. We had the 7 course tasting menu. Wow. Just wow. What an incredible experience. We were taken on a journey with interesting, exciting dishes. The wine list is incredible, and Seb's knowledge of the wine is second to none. His recommendations were perfect. The service is the best that we have ever experienced. What a place. It comes with a price that you would expect, but you really are getting something that is second-to-none. We enjoyed every single minute and every bite. Thank you!

We had the 5 course lunch menu and it was a real treat. Each one had so much flavour. There is a 3 course option but the meals aren’t huge so that might leave you a little hungry.
Ian Tipton — Google review
While Adam's may tout itself as a Michelin-starred establishment, my recent dining experience left much to be desired. From the moment we stepped through the door, the atmosphere felt stale and lacking in any semblance of warmth or character. The décor was uninspired, resembling more of a corporate office lobby than a fine dining establishment. The service was equally disappointing. Our waiter seemed disinterested and rushed, providing minimal explanation of the menu and displaying little knowledge or passion for the food being served. Throughout the evening, we felt neglected and overlooked, with long waits between courses and an overall lack of attentiveness from the staff. As for the food itself, it failed to live up to the lofty expectations set by its Michelin star. While some dishes showed promise in terms of creativity and presentation, the execution fell flat. Flavours were often muted and uninspiring, with overly complicated combinations that failed to harmonize on the palate. Ingredients appeared to be of decent quality, but were overshadowed by poor cooking techniques and misguided flavour pairings. In summary, Adam's may have a prestigious reputation, but my dining experience left me thoroughly unimpressed. From the lacklustre atmosphere to the mediocre service and underwhelming food, it failed to deliver on its promise of a memorable fine dining experience. Save your money and seek out a restaurant that truly deserves its accolades. :(

We went for lunch in January and had a fantastic meal. The snacks and little deserts are always delightful at these kinds of restaurants and they were delicious here. Folium is a chic, modern restaurant in the city centres quiet Georgian Jewellery Quarter that presents elevated British cuisine in multi-course meals with wine pairings. The seasonally-driven, modernist dishes of Ben Tesh are united by their bold flavors and mature craftsmanship.
My second time at Restaurant Folium and it’s been absolutely amazing! My mother and I opted for the long-tasting menu and each dish was truly fabulous. All the food hosted such a dynamic array of glorious flavours which left you wanting more and more. The dishes were creative, unique and used the highest quality of ingredients. The service was absolutely brilliant and just added to the overall package. Going to Restaurant Folium is a true experience and one that you’ll remember for a while. Outstanding. This was our second time visiting Folium and we couldn’t have had a better second experience. We first visited some years ago and were so impressed at the time that we have not been able to forget about it and had to make a special trip back! The food is on another level. We cannot understand how they have not yet been awarded a Michelin star as some of the dishes they have created are equal if not better than some of the 2/3 Michelin star restaurants we have been fortunate enough to visit. I am sure that it must be on its way soon! We had the long menu, all of which was creative and completely delicious. (£120pp plus £15pp supplemental cheese dish) For us, the star of the menu was the Orkney Scallop with Ponzu sauce. It is an absolute explosion of flavour, beautifully cooked scallops, faultless in our opinion and one of the most memorable dishes we have eaten to date. A perfectly curated menu and as for the service - the most friendly, professional, attentive and knowledgeable servers in which they played a big part in making our meal so wonderful. We cannot wait to come back already! Thank you to the whole team at Folium, you are fantastic!

Exceptional. Food: Diverse menu, Imaginative, Creative, and a sensory adventure. Ben Tesh & his team offer Birmingham serious Foodies a treat for all senses. Drinks: The wine flight adds another dimension to the food, bringing out subtle flavours and experiencing the wines change with each mouthful. Service: Staff were extremely attentive, friendly & knowledgeable about the menu, including where all the produce was from, including wines. Atmosphere: Exactly what you would expect with a fine dining experience, Clean, Crisp, modern dining, a bright restaurant with Minimalist decor, clean bright toilets with nice soap & Moisturiser. All the dinnerware, Cutlery & glass wear was tactile, modern & luxurious. This enhanced our experience. Value: Three of us spent £400 it was worth every penny. We would highly recommend, and we can’t wait to return.

An excellent place to go for Scandi-inspired British cuisine. Dishes are delicious; made simply and using fresh, high quality ingredients. The menu is diverse, complex and 100% like an enjoyable journey through places and flavours. The presentation of the food is exquisite - the tableware is gorgeous and really adds an extra dimension to the dining experience. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit. We went for the long (complete) tasting menu which was definitely worth the cost (£95pp).

It nearly hit the fine dining sweet spot. From observing the exterior i thought “well crafted simplicity.” Inside I was warmly welcomed by staff who invited me to sit by the window of this cosy establishment. It’s bright inside thanks to the big windows and orientation. The food on the seven course menu was full of traditional flavours, presented nicely and executed beautifully. One of my favourite dishes was the perfectly cooked lamb neck and fillet. With coordination of the service staff improving (it is a new restaurant) and small tweaks to the quality of the facilities this will become a five google star restaurant. Excellent value for money, family run, born and raised in Birmingham. I recommend you try this wonderful restaurant.

Folium is really good, but not quite outstanding. The room is slightly on the sterile side - it feels a bit like a restaurant in a modern business hotel. The tasting menu (£55 in May 2019) is generously portioned, varied, and carefully executed. But at that price you can do better - in Birmingham and elsewhere. The mackerel dish was bland and the turbot was slightly over. Full marks for presentation and concept, but needs just a bit of refinement to be top quality.

What an incredible gastronomical experience! Each course was absolutely delicious, even the amuse bouche was so incredible I didn’t want it to end. Often with a tasting menu, I am disappointed because each course looks pretty, but the taste is often lacking. That is absolutely not the case at Harborne Kitchen. Unexpected taste sensations in each mouthful. The staff provided the best customer service I have experienced in over a decade. Polite, quick, professional. The only area that needs improvement is the mocktails. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. A Wednesday night was buzzing like a Saturday night. We’ll be back!

Wow. What can I say about this amazing restaurant. I found HK on Instagram and have been wanting to try for a while, I came this evening for the 5 for £55 tasting menu and it was sublime. From exceptional service to outstanding food. Often with tasting menus you will leave hungry however not at HK. They accommodated dietary requirements without any hesitation. I had a phone call earlier in the day just to confirm our reservation and requirements and I didn’t realise my friend couldn’t have gluten so we only told HK once seated and it wasn’t a problem at all- first class service. Each course was beautiful presented and explained what it was. Highly recommend visiting, much better than some of the local Michelin star restaurants I have visited. You won’t be disappointed. Chefs table... Chefs kiss. What an incredible experience, hats off to all the team, celebrated our 12th anniversary with some of the finest, tastiest food I've ever had in Birmingham. Can't wait to return!

Cracking experience. Harborne High Street wouldn't feel the same without this lovely restaurant. As a local, every time I walk past I'm transported back to wonderful staff and food wizardry. It was a beautifully casual and relaxed fine-dining experience. We sat at the bar around the small open kitchen. One of my personal favourite ways to eat in top class restaurants, as the artistry and science behind crafting beautiful food is magical. You see all the ingredients coming together with care, attention to detail and creativity. The waiting staff were very attentive, with lots of information to share about the restaurant's ethos and larder. Personally, I love any restaurant that takes pride in aiming to show off native British ecology and keeps the menu shifting seasonally with sustainable cuisine. The chefs clearly enjoy what they do, too. And the food spoke for itself. It was rich, comforting, homely fine dining, with some plays on family and childhood favourites alongside some more complex, adult flavours. We'll definitely be returning, sooner than later for some drinks and snacks at the bar.

Excellent restaurant. The food was sublime. The staff were exceptional. I had braised ox cheek which was tremendous. My wife had the vegan option. We also had the wine flight which complimented the food. Couldn't have had a better experience.

Another amazing meal at Harborne Kitchen. We celebrated our 10year wedding anniversary in July so went all out with the full tasting menu. Incredible food and service. We love the food and restaurant. The Smoked Mash is one of the best things I've ever tasted.
