Fortified Evangelical Church Harman

Sights & Landmarks
The Fortified Evangelical Church Harman is a stunning attraction that should not be missed when in the vicinity of Brasov. The church boasts a beautiful design and impressive defense walls, as well as an informative educational experience. Visitors can ascend the tower bell to enjoy breathtaking views of the area. Despite its many attractions, there are relatively few tourists in attendance, and tickets are reasonably priced at only 10 RON.
Lovely, not so small, fortified church. You have quite a lot to see. Really enjoyed my time here.
Rares Mulea — Google review
Well preserved. We got up to the tower, don't go if you are afraid of high or narrow places. We enjoyed the visit, with a guide it is possible that it would have been better.
Roman Adrian — Google review
Beautiful fortified church, well taken care of and definitely worth a visit! Lots of educational information and great view from the church tower.

Very authentic and well preserved. You can walk inside the walls! I recommend this fortified church over the one at Prejmer.

years of history to easily visit. reached up to the bells tower as it started to ring, was thrilling and very loud
Vlad Ichimescu — Google review
This is extremely lovely place! The church is beautiful, you can go on defence walls and tower bell. There are not many tourists here and tickets are for only 10 RON. Must see place when you are near Brasov.
Artur Piechuta — Google review
On of the nicest fortified churches in Romania.Very well preserved. Tower can be climbed and a lot to see to learn about life of German communities in Romania.
Jose Luis del Val — Google review
It is a really good place to spend some family time, even with small children. The great thing is ,you can climb the church bells tower , where the views are very nice. Inside you're gonna feel like you're in a small museum .
Ilie Grusia — Google review
A fortified church designed to protect the families who lived there in times of war. Some of the houses in the village are used as a museum that presents life at that time. Impressive.
Amir Arnon — Google review
Beautiful peaceful place, full of history, well preserved, presents country life with recreated living rooms, different workshops, school... Sometimes it is a place for good quality music concerts. If you're brave enough you may go to the church tower where you will enjoy a 360 panorama, admire the tower clock mechanism and the carved in stone stairs.
Marius Neagu — Google review
One of the best well kept churches that I've visited. Such a pleasant, quiet and airy vibe once you enter the courtyard. You have museum part, ramparts, church with the highest tower in the vicinity - 56m - which you can climb and see the view of the county. The souvenir shop also has some good maps and visual representations on paper of the local history. Give this place a try! P.S.: You can also camp near the church (see attached photo)
Danny Mike — Google review
We were there during the Teutonic Festival in 25-27th of September. The guided tours were amazing! With the tour guide giving insight not just into the history of the place but also into the locals' past and society! The fortress itself was interesting due to the small chambers open (which gave you a glimpse into the day to day lives of the Sași) and the possibility to walk along on the defense wall.
Roxana Maria — Google review
Truly an amazing place to visit. I had never seen a fortified church before and walked inside a huge defensive circular wall. Everything was well preserved if a bit dusty but felt very real. We received a booklet in English explaining all about it and thoroughly explored every single bit! We even climbed the bell tower which was very steep with open wooden steps at the top.

The Fortified Church of Prejmer

Mentioned on
Lutheran church
Sights & Landmarks
The Prejmer Church is a Gothic structure surrounded by an imposing red-roofed wall nearly 40 feet (12m) high and 13 feet (4m) thick. The church houses a gilded altarpiece and a small museum, while the surrounding walls contain 270 rooms for villagers to shelter in during attacks and storehouses for grain. Although not recently rebuilt, the church is well maintained, clean, and charming with big green trees adding to its beauty.
I was pleasantly surprised by this fortress. I arrived there at opening time, so there weren't any visitors and I got to get lost around there (not really, it's a big circle). With lots of history, this place is a not so known treasure of Romania.
Elena R — Google review
Wonderful UNESCO protected citadel. Very interesting to read the story and visit the site. When you see the old school, take the stairs to the right and climb until the end to reach the internal part of the wall. It is not signed anywhere so seems no one knows about it. Really interesting seeing the internal part of the fortress
Razvan — Google review
It is very well preserved. You can buy tickets from the vending machines outside. If you need a toilet you can go next to the post office and you can use it with your museum ticket if the system works, if not ... The grounds are impressive, and if you have a guided tour, you would probably understand more about the history here. In room 146, there's a very sly lodger, take care. We saw a fox who knew the grounds and passed us without fear, going to the mentioned room.
Roman Adrian — Google review
Surpisingly amazing place! We visited the church because the Castle in Rasnov nearby was closed for visitors and we need to kill time before checking in to our hotel. It turned out to be a great experience! The church is well preserved, with interesting architecture of the outer walls, which you can visit also inside. Multiple smaller expositions show you how the life was when people seek refuge within the walls during hostile raids to these lands in old times. The church itself contains oldest hand-painted altar in all of Romania. Definitely worth spending an hour and 15 RON per person.
Piotr Piskozub — Google review
My personal favorite fortified church in Transylvania. Very impressive insights of medieval architecture. The story of the German community protecting themselves against Ottoman invaders is interesting but sensing it within the walls is a unique experience. Absolutely recommended!
Maximilian W. — Google review
The church inside the fortified walls is very beautiful. Is a must see medieval complex. Near the fortified church are a lot of parking spaces. I liked the shops near the entrance, with hand made and unique items.
Marian Ioni?? — Google review
We visited Prejmer as a weekend activity and it was very interesting! It's bigger than other fortified churches and you have more places to walk along. We visited without a tour guide but there were groups there which had them. The tickets can be bought with credit card at an outside ticked dispenser (took us 2 minutes in total). Would recommend to visit for the more authentic "fortified church" vibe!
Roxana Maria — Google review
Looks very nice, well maintained and clean - it was not rebuilt recently, but it has it's charm. Very big and green trees were awesome. Not very intuitive to visit around, entered some stairs above in a room and got lost between hallways and reached a closed door that was locked, had to go all the way back.
Anca D. — Google review
Most impressive of the ten or so fortified churches I visited on this trip. The walls are well restored and you can walk through them and many of the side rooms the locals used to shelter in during times of trouble.
Victor Galis — Google review
Absurdity in all its levels. It's so big that it had 217 rooms and s church inside. You can enter and walk around the walls inside the fortification and return to the place you started thus making full circle.
Dubravko Garbin — Google review
It's very interesting listening to its story, its purpose back in the days, all parts accessible to explore.
Joanna micallef dougall — Google review
Lovely hidden gem just away from downtown. Astonishingly friendly service which is also trilingual. Huge outdoor seating area and the inside is very kitch decorated. The Transylvania platter was a great sharing option, and the salad varieties hit the spot. Decent beer selection. Had a great dinner here with business colleagues
Joe Macpherson — Google review
Interesting Saxon fortified church, different from the most ones in Transylvania. Plenty of information about the place received from the nice lady working there.
Catalin Graur — Google review
This is one of the most representative medieval fortified churches in Romania. The complex is well maintained, so tourists can climb the stairs to reach the ramparts, explore the circular gallery at the top of the defense wall, and visit some of the old living rooms (not all, unfortunately). At the entrance, there are several shops with souvenirs and local food products. The entrance fee is very cheap.
Catalin Hulea — Google review
Very climatic place, you can sense the old climat from the place. It have authentic style and beautiful old architecture. You can access free toilet on the other side of the street if you show the ticket (tickets available in tickets machine, you can pay with cash or card which is very nice). If you go there from Brașov I deeply recommend for you to stop in Harman fortified church to see one more (in my view more beautiful than Prejmer) ,it offers much more things to see in the similar price ticket and also you scan climb to the church tower which you cannot in Prejmer (most of the Prejmer rooms is closed for tourists which is sad).

The Council's House

Mentioned on
Historical landmark
Casa Sfatului is a historical building with a rich past that now serves as a museum and community center in the heart of Brasov's charming square. The exhibits inside showcase various aspects of Transylvanian history, including displays on guilds and activities in the city, World War II, Romanian sports champions, and the 1987 rebellion. Although in need of restoration, Casa Sfatului remains one of Brasov's most beautiful symbols and an interesting destination for those interested in local history.
A really nice piece of architecture and a key site in Braşov that is a great marker point to navigate using. A key site to visit in the area and a really pretty surrounding.

Very beautiful main square and architecture of the building from inside. i haven't visited it from inside, but maybe its beautiful too. Love the square, so cozy and European style!
Maria Rangelova — Google review
Well preserved. Great local on a sunny day.
Al Dwyer — Google review
The collection inside the museum is very interesting. At the ground floor, I appreciated especially the exhibition about second world war and Vasile Scarneci, whose journals I had read before. Then there several rooms on guilds and activities in Brașov. Second floor has temporary exhibits, we caught one around sports and Romanian champions and another on the rebellion in 1987. The museum building needs restoration, it is frozen in time. Cheap ticket.

To visit this park free up to 5 hours from your day. Three hours - is time for activity itself + entry line + time to take and return an equipment + instructions. If you go with kids and want to go with them through the kids routes, prepare yourself to be flexible ))) The main zip line over the lake is awesome! Highly recommend this place
Anton Bogodvid — Google review
The biggest adventure park I have been to. Very high quality equipment and very safe. The long Zipline (350m) is very cool. Only problem was the wait time in the beginning to get the tickets and equipment.
Roy David — Google review
Amazing place, can spend many hours here on the activities. Good for all ages. There are easy, intermediate, and advanced courses to do. The park is very safe and there are staff to assist when you need help. Even if you are experienced they have a very challenging black course to do. There is also a large zipline that goes over the water and various smaller ziplines throughout the courses. Tons of fun!! Highly recommend doing this when here in Brasov!!

The Council Square in Brasov is a striking historical landmark, featuring a town hall and fountains. It is surrounded by shops, museums and cafes, making it an ideal location for tourists to explore the city on foot. During the snowy winter months, the square has a special charm which attracts visitors who can enjoy hot wine while they admire its beauty. Although more crowded in summer, there are many budget-friendly appetizing restaurants within walking distance of the square.
Beautiful. Brasov is one of the best cities I have been in the beautiful Romania. This place is huge, lovely to walk, enjoy the day, take photos. The restaurants around here are double the price than in the rest of the town of course:)

Central landmark of the Brașov old city. A lot of shops, cafes and restaurants are present all around the square. A nice place to see and spend some time in. During Christmas there is a market organized here. Also the main city Christmas tree is found here.

Great Square, outstanding and spacious area. Beautiful area too. Just crowded most of the time but surely cant complain that this is one of the busiest areas in Brasov. Fine restaurants nearby, haven’t tried many. I would consider you go somewhere else if you would like to go to a café or restaurant but its your peoples’ choices. Its definitely crowded on the weekends.

First viewing of the Council Square is one has never been in Bran opens yours eyes to how unique it is . Great views all round up to the Cable Car the Brasov sign on the hill. The Black Church is next door and worth a visit. Very Germanic or Hungarian but the architectural gems abound if one looks at the unique buildings that abound in every direction.

Brasov center, I have been over the weekend there and in the events period, so I found stage with performers of live jazz music and different stands with books, arts, or different handwork things to buy. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, sweets shops in the center and arround streets, you can find pharmacy and coffee shops or anything you need easily.

Nice place. It's pretty spacious and very clean. Many food options available and some historical landmarks are right there as well. Keep in mind tho that it can get hot since there is basically no shadow on the square, and Brasov is a small town, so don't expect too much entertainment there.

Sergiana Restaurant is a traditional Romanian restaurant, where diners can enjoy a variety of meals from different parts of the country. The restaurant has traditional decorations including paintings of the city in different times and photos of local people enjoying their food. Vegetarians will appreciate the polenta dish, while meat-lovers will enjoy coq au vin and chicken Kiev.
Traditional Romanian food at it's best! Quick, helpful and really friendly service. This place is so good that we visited it twice in two nights stay in Brasov... Prices are really low for the quality of the experience. Highly recommended!

Amazing food, very delicious, quite large portions. We also got some starters free of charge. Staff is very polite, great communication. Prices are acceptable. Ambient is nice and pleasent.

The food was great, but even better were the staff. My waiter helped me when I asked if he could recommend a quick dish because I had to catch a bus, and he recommended the Transylvanian soup, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The dish was brought out so fast, yet it was hot and comforting. The restaurant also gave me an interesting free dish of roasted pork on the house. I felt very well taken care of. The atmosphere of the restaurant, despite being in a basement, is not dingy but can be quite romantic. Fastest service ever, I like it!

If there's one phrase I would use to describe this place, it would be this: attention to detail. Nothing is left to chance, everything is taken care of so that the guests can enjoy the best experience possible. Just a few examples, which might seem random but are signs of the attention to detail I love to see in establishments: - the complimentary entree & bread - the bathroom, clean and with modern appliances - if you ask for the leftovers to go, they bring it in a sealed container Moreover, all the staff is not only incredibly nice, but also highly trained and professional.

Amazing atmosphere and super friendly service. It seems a very traditional restaurant. They have a very good food. It was super delicious. The quality of food, the speed of service was top. I liked the desserts a lot. Definitey one of the best I had in Romania as a tourist. Definitey recommended

The food was excellent but the service was quite bad. We were able to find a seat quite easily and were welcomed warmly. But unfortunately, we waited a long time to grab the attention of the waiters to place an order. The food came quickly and was very tasty. But the long wait at every stage turned what could have been a very pleasant experience, into quite a frustrating experience.

Amazing underground restaurant. Food was delicious, staff was very friendly and service was fast. Perfect place to dive in Romania cuisine in a traditional way
Razvan — Google review
Nice resturant, located in the old town. When you enter the resturant you need to go throgh 20 steps underground. There is a romanian band ( folklore) during the night with dancing and too loud music. The menu is nice but there is no "mititei" in the menu. Slow service, the food is very tasty. Expansive for what you get. No parking in the area.
Ido Weissler — Google review
A fantastic restaurant in Brasov, if you want to try traditional Romanian food (with some twists). We had dinner on two consecutive nights (so you can guess how much wr liked the food and ambience). The restaurant is situated in a cellar of a big Saxon building near the city centre. The ambience was very different. The staff (all dressed in traditional Romanian dresses) were friendly. The service was prompt. We started off with the traditional palinka shot while we wete srved complementary pork fries and bread. We then had proceeded to have stuffed schnitzel, stuffed pork tenderloin and bulz. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. The second night, we tried the steak. Though we wanted it rare to medium, some parts were a bit too done. For the side we had the peasant potatoes, which was very nice, and a welcome break from American fries. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are staying at Brasov.

Authentic Romanian cuisine. Vegetarian friendly, so a must-go if you want to try the local cuisine. We ordered: 2 x Polenta with Mushrooms 1 x Polenta with Cabage 1 x Baked potatoes with dill & garlic 1 x Breaded hard cheese Enough for 5 adults (and more). They serve delicious fresh bread at the table. The garlic dill sauce is a must. I would have ordered the fries instead of the baked potato, and added a salad, so that there was some kind of crunch in the meal as everything else is “soft”.
Lya C — Google review
Great restaurant with a lot of seating space so we did not have to wait much for getting a table without reservations. The food is really good and the service is good too. They have a lot of food and drink options which are very traditional. Even the menu in Romanian uses the old Romanian language. They served some fried pork belly with onions as a welcome snack on the house. The pickles were very delicious and had an interesting assortment of vegetables including a pickled pear which was quite tasty. The restaurant had some live music and dancing for the new year celebrations which made it a nice restaurant experience. Would definitely recommend more than other places in the area.
Ramani Davare — Google review
Everything was really well cooked and tasty, the space is decorated very simply and traditional Romanian. The portions were good, and you are given delicious pork rinds and beautiful bread on arrival. We had stuffed cabbage leaves with polenta, pork sirloin with smoked bacon, mushrooms and brown vegetable sauce, also beetroot with horseradish. Really good quality - would definitely recommend a visit whilst in Brasov
Livvy Dee — Google review
This place came highly recommended by locals. We followed the wait staff recommendations. Of the Bulz (egg) which was excellent, and the wild boar dish (phenomenal, especially with nuts and cranberries). And added side dish of potatoes also excellent. It’s a big place but not everyone is in one room so it isn’t loud like some other places of similar size. The staff was phenomenal. But they were very busy as expected. Not their fault just be patient. We ordered some traditional plum brandy spirits aperitifs while we waited to be seated and waited for the food. There was also some traditional entertainment of song and dance (with the hat for money afterwards). Overall an excellent experience, highly recommend.

Best traditional Transylvanian food in Brasov. It is also preferred by the locals. They also bring fried pork pieces on the house! Do not miss it.

we came here attracted by the many positive reviews, I must admit that expectations were far and away satisfied. we took two traditional dishes with a side of potatoes. the products were first choice and cooked simply. we took an ursus which I recommend to accompany everything. grand finale with papanasi. the various options of completely optional tips were indicated in the bill, you mark with a red pen whether you want to leave tips and in what percentage.
Giuseppe Castello — Google review
This is one of the iconic and must-go places in Brașov. The place is great, they have some of the best food options as all meat products are home-made. Appreciate that even after all these years they kept the good habit to serve greaves (jumări) on the house. Back in the day they served heated, now these are cold, but appreciate the gesture. Food I would say is the best quality-price ratio in Brașov and great food options. They ended up serving home matured beef, a huge plus. The food is great, the papanași are very good, and the service is great. Drinks are at quite a high price, maybe the only minus, but would expect this for a restaurant in Brașov. Atmosphere is of a fast food restaurant as there are a lot of people coming and going, sometimes and be a little annoying. But this shows that people appreciate the place. All in all, a place to always come back to, highly recommend!

If we include the location, ambience and food, then the first place goes to Sub Tâmpa. The food was good – only desert didn't give us a lot of pleasure (Negresa with caramel sauce), but what we ate in the same way (muscle of lamb & strips of pork belly cooked slowly) was very good. The beatiful beetroot with caramelized onion was also ok – however large portions from the appetizer menu.
Great restaurant. Great food. Great personnel. The atmosphere there is really cozy and elegant in the same time. The food there is always excellent no matter what you order(they have vegan recipes as well). And the waiters are really kind and they serve you great. I always recommend this place to people and friends.

This restaurant totally exceeded our expectations. We were seated next to the window, and enjoyed the beautiful view. The waiter was very nice, always with a smile on his face and very attentive to what we needed without seeming disturbed at any moment. The food looked very good and tasted delicious. I totally recommend it, we will surely be coming back to this restaurant when in Brașov.

This place is definitely a must! It is welcoming, professional service and the food not only looks amazing but it is also very tasty! Everything we ordered was great and portion is big enough. Prices might look a little high but here at least it is worth it! Definitely will visit every time I return to Brașov and will recommend to everyone! Tip: Check each category of the menu, you may surprised to find something good in an unexpected category!

First off, the food is great and in perfect portion sizes. I would say the food is a bit different from traditional Romanian food, I would say, like others do, that it's slightly re-imagined. The atmosphere is quite strong and warm yet light, depends on what table you're sitting at, but the design is great all around the restaurant. Somehow, considering how spectacular and refined the dishes are, they arrive extremely quickly, it's hard to comprehend how they do that. The staff are very nice. Would come here again

Amazing place and tastiest Romanian dishes. Just amazing 🍻 The staff has a very nice attitude regarding families with small children being very helpful and careful all the time. Big up!

Overall a great experience. We ordered a few appetizers, mains and desserts. Highly recommend the parfait of chicken liver. the duck leg and breast were equally tasty. Service was excellent thanks to Andreea.

This place is amazing, you can get there by walking in a beautiful area with forest. As you walk in you are welcome by some nice waiters, who lead you to the table ( you don’t need a reservation ). Inside you will see, a lots of plants, which give you a nice feeling and a relaxing environment. Big windows with an awesome view to the city Brasov. Waiters are very politely and helpful with everything. Food is just unbelievable, they take romanian food and they transformed it into a work of art both in term of taste and appearance. Everything is delicious and looks very good. Price are veryy good and the quantity of food is large.

A super nice restaurant with berry cozy and stylish atmosphere tucked in the hillside of town. Service was very attentive, selection of drinks and food also excellent. We loved the peaceful atmosphere. Czell beer was a Great Choice.

Book in advance and get a table by the window - you will get great views of the city. Nice setting, elegant vibe, no need for a particular attire, though. During weekends it's quite crowded, so be sure to make a reservation. Good service. The food is traditional Romanian with a twist. Large portions, above average prices.

After a 4hour walk up and down Tampa, this was the best place to be. Service was spotless, there was water for our four legged companion, great food, prompt, lovely and lively service, there were nice drinks and, to repeat myself, there was GREAT food. I fully recommend any of the soups and no need to stop there.

I would start by saying that we've had a great experience. Tasty food and nice atmosphere. We were there for an anniversary and we enjoyed every single moment. The service is also one of the highlights of this restaurant. I would recommend to put this place on your "must do while in Brașov". I took one single picture of the appetizers, but it already can give you a good hint.

This restaurant exceeded our expectations on all points. The food was excellent, the presentation, atmosphere and service were outstanding. Highly recommend. Beautiful scenery and decor as well.

We had a super nice experience at this restaurant 😊. It was on my "to visit" list for a long time. The price range mentioned was for an appetizer, two main courses, a dessert, a bottle of wine and the water. What I want to mention is also that the portions are huge (or at least we felt like we ordered too much), but the food is absolutely amazing, and also the service was great.
cristina mihaela — Google review
Really tasty! Not cheap at all, but at least the portions are large. I highly recommend the duck breast. Hot chocolate is also yummi, in case you decide not to taste one of the many wines from the menu.

We chose this restaurant for a weekend dinner while visiting Braşov and I can only say that we will never regret it. We were welcomed by super friendly staff, and enjoyed and amazing view of the city. The food came fast and was absolutely delicious. Recommend the Romanian tapas mix

You can't fault the excellent reviews... The food is exquisite. It's among the best 3 restaurants in have eaten in this price class. Perfectly plated dishes, great combinations... Flavors complimenting each other.... Combine that to a perfect atmosphere and impeccable service. And you have a perfect restaurant.... I made it a point to visit this restaurant. (the nearby Cable Car was closed on Monday). They did not dissapoint... I am a vegetarian... And am used to not having many options especially in restaurants in Europe.. They too didn't have very many... But it makes no difference if you aren't a regular. I had a great time... And even ordered dessert... Even though I was pretty full after the starter (I know I am repeating myself, but this was the star of the show) and the main dish. Glad that I ordered the traditional dessert... Hot plate pudding with ice-cream... Was exceptional too. To finish off I want to thank " Anji " for the wonderful service, suggesting dishes... And her patience with our little kid. Definitely visit when you come to Brasov.!!!

Bistro
Bistro de l'Arte is a wonderful restaurant with an artistic atmosphere, hidden in the heart of historic Brașov. Promoting a concept of Slow Food using principally local produce, breakfast is top priority here. Some of the menu options are delicious omelets, sublime eggs Benedict and house gem, together with vegetarian breakfast, French breakfast and Romanian breakfast nutritiously packed.
We visited 6-7 times in our 2 months in Brasov - always food was top and very tasty, also good friendly service. They have a limited daily menu with around 6-8 main dishes, and also 1-2 soups ( having an extra 2-3 in the normal menu ). We recommend the tomato soup with grilled cheese, pasta with truffles and beef and the beef burger! But everything we got was always tasty. Try to make a reservation if you are 2+, also doga allowed! Their glue wine is also delicious if you visit in the winter and can be grabbed to go.

We spent three days in Brasov and in all three we ate here. The food is amazing and it is definitely worth a trip here. Fair prices. Book in advance especially for evenings or weekend days. Check out their daily menu as well. Full of tasty surprises.

Had researched this one before we arrived. It lived up to and exceeded our expectations. The cod and potato pancake was delicious as was the chicken. Portion sizes were perfect, leaving room for dumplings as dessert. Wait staff were fabulous and the wine list amazing. More than than to recommend this place, pop it on your list.
Kendall Legudi — Google review
If you want to try something different, go with the tomato soup. The cheese salad is the queen of the menu and the beef pasta is adding a plus of taste. However, the service would benefit from a customer focused training. Prices are on the high side.

Bistro de l'Arte offers a very enjoyable dining experience, with an ever changing menu. Food is sometimes complex, sometimes refreshingly simple and always full of flavour. Service is top notch. A weak point would be the rarity of vegetarian, not to mention vegan, options - better check the menu ahead of time or ask.

This cozy restaurant is located in the center of Brasov, hidden in the streets. We found it by accident and did not lose! It was a wonderful experience. We ordered onion soup and penne beef. It was delicious. Good, friendly service. Cool, not crowded location. Large selection of wines. Prices are above average. Cocktails are quite expensive (38-50lei). An interesting point is that every day the restaurant has a different menu.

Great place to eat, food is well priced and good, good wine list. I suggest that you just go there and see if you can find a table since when we called to make a reservation they said they had nothing available, but we decided to try our luck anyway and it worked. Between the lamb and beef burger, pick the beef burger.

The cocktails were amazing. Mine were pretty sweet but that's what I like. My party had other drinks and everyone was happy with their choices. I would say this place is more upscale and you can tell. There is also live piano music. And there's a variety of paintings available to buy, and in the middle there's a jewelry section with handcrafted jewelry. Just make sure to bring cash to purchase the jewelry and the art. The vibe of the place is lovely; jazzy and romantic. Great place for a special date.

4.4 stars ;-). Very nice Location, no free table outside and a bit warm inside. Service in the beginning was very good but during our stay we had to wait to place our orders and became thirsty. Food was good/very good. Salad with chicken ok (but meat was really dry), chicken with polenta very good. Desserts chocolate cake and sweet were noodles very good. So a honest feedback: clear recommendation for a visit and some room for improvement for the service.

Creativity & quality I wanted to eat here for quite some time and I booked a table a week before my visit to Brasov. The restaurant is small and cozy and it gives you a familiarity feeling once inside. The personnel is nice, relaxed and smiling and they offered assistance in choosing the dishes. They offer a standard menu and a menu of the day. We opted for dishes from both menus and we were very happy with choices. What I liked most was the creativity in mixing the ingredients, which gave a special savor to the final dish. It was a re-invented Romanian food experience. It is rare for me to eat in a restaurant and discover that the dishes have got all they need, there’s nothing missing. In Bistro del Arte I found a very balanced food, very well cooked and with quality ingredients. Booking needs to be done in advance. Great job!

In a week we went to this restaurant three times and it was honestly so good every single time. Exceptional soups, both traditional and international cuisine dishes with a creative twist. Not as heavy as purely traditional dishes. Not overpriced. Lovely atmosphere and great staff. Note: it is full close to always (for a good reason) so it is always better to call and book in advance

Incredible food & service- highly highly recommend if you’re after a solid Romanian feed. Only small downside was the Bloody Mary which was quite watery and barely had any tomato juice so all I could taste was vodka, but the waitress was very accomodating when I asked for some more tomato juice which made it a lot better.

The Trattorian Artisan Food restaurant is located in Piata George Enescu, 4 and it specializes in fresh food prepared using unique combinations of ingredients. The food is always well-prepared and the wine pairing makes the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is romantic and comfortable, while the rustic feel makes it perfect for a casual dinner or breakfast. All of their food is made using fresh ingredients and they have some amazing pizza and seafood dishes.
Nestled in a central location, this Italian location offers a delightful culinary journey. I savored succulent lamb chops with tabbouleh salad and creamy mashed potatoes, alongside a flavorful seafood soup. The ambiance is charming, the service impeccable. A must-visit for authentic Italian cuisine enthusiasts.

Very tasty food with top ingredients and very good service. On the downside i found it a bit pricy and it took too long to get the food. Disappointed that there were none of the great looking pastas on the menu.

Good service, menu selection, atmosphere and quality of food. The bread on the burger was a little dry but the avocado salad was very tasty. I also recommend the chicken fingers and pizzas. They also have good Romanian wines.

Very tasty. Amazing dinner. We ordered pasta, burgers, appetizers and desserts. Everything was 10 out of 10. Price is for everyone. But I think this place run till 22:00 because the waiter told us we should order quick and google misleading. But very friendly.

The food was fantastic, but the service was a letdown. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks and we had to go to the bar and inquire about our drinks. Despite the pleasant atmosphere, the service glitch needs attention. Consider reevaluating staff or improving their compensation.

This restaurant would be a great place if it wouldn’t take so long to get your food. I’ve been to this place several times and it was always very busy during the day (not to mention how it is in the evening). Despite they clearly see large amount of people coming there every day (I’m now talking about summer-September season - it’s very possible there will be less people later before skiing starts), somehow they were not able to speed up things in the kitchen. The food is really good, wine list is also ok. Deserts are just excellent, and waiters are quite nice. So if you’re not in a hurry, I would recommend to visit this place. Just don’t go there if you’re very hungry, you risk to wait another 40-50 min before you get the first course.

Nice food, but the staff? Oh boy the staff. Let's play a game. What do you do if you make a mistake on a customer's order? A. You apologize, go back and get the right order for them Or B. Blame the customer and have a go at them to their face, because clearly they are responsible for YOUR mistake. Considering the two star review, I'll give you one guess as to which approach the staff here have used. Story time: visited Brașov with three other people, and decided to dine here as the place has good reviews and a large variety of dishes to choose from. We sat down, and since the menu was quite expansive and my friends didn't know much about the local dishes, we needed some time to order. The first server comes around and we ask for 5 more minutes. They show up again not 30 seconds later, to which we say the same thing, that we just need 5 more minutes. More than 10 minutes passed, with no one coming to serve us, so I went inside to say we were ready to order, as I figured they were just giving us more time. The supervisor says to me "I already sent someone 2 or 3 times and you didn't order!" Ohhh kay? That was a bit rude but whatever. A waitress who seemed really nice at first, came around and took our orders. None of my friends speak Romanian, and even though the waitress spoke English, I helped translate for them out of politeness. Among other things, we asked for one small sparkling water, and one large regular water. When she brought the drinks, she mixed the bottles bringing plain instead of sparkling water and vice versa. When she returned with the right things, she said to me something along the lines of: "From now on let me speak to the others, because you created confusion. I speak English too, you know." From her tone and the words she used it was clear she was blaming me for her mistake. Minutes later the supervisor comes around with some food, and as he was serving the plates, he accidentally hit me in the eye with one of them. He says "I'm sorry, but you turned your head into the plate". Right. Keep in mind I didn't even challenge him or complain, I just stayed quiet but he really felt the need to point out it was my fault. We had ordered our food with 3 Truffle Mashed Potatoes as a side, which never arrived. I still lament the loss of my glorious mashed potatoes. After having the food with no sides, we felt full and decided not to inquire about the sides, since we'd probably be blamed for that too. When the waitress brought the bill they were on there, to which I explained they never arrived. She was visibly annoyed as she went back to change the bill, and when she returned, guess what, IT WAS MY FAULT FOR THIS MISTAKE TOO! She says "why didn't you say anything about the sides, now you got me in trouble". Oh I don't know, is it because you were rude af and I didn't want to deal with you? Food was getting cold so we just ate it as it was. I'm sure her supervisor gave her a lot of grief for what were simple mistakes on a busy Saturday night, which accounted for some of her anger. It seems like a very toxic place to work in. Nevertheless, It's not acceptable to treat a customer like this, especially considering the steep prices we pay. At least the food was pretty good, and the location/atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice. Looking at the reviews it seems most people had a great time here, and we are probably the exception, not the norm. Nevertheless, I am never coming back here again.

Review for mid of June 2023, a Sunday: Came in around 13:30, with no prior reservation. Seated was available inside immediately, service was fast, staff was friendly. Payment accepted by card also contactless or tap to pay. Tips may be included with the card payment. Serving plates/size are quite large, adult & kid could eat from 1 serving (Chicken Parmigiano) and staff brought an additional plate. I really liked the atmosphere, the design together with the music played and sound level. Would definitely return here.

The food is just Madness. I had the mussels and my wife had the octopus. Just delicious, some of the best food ever... The French fries are Homemade (something quite rare). They have outside seating and accept credit cards. The place is quite full, so... make reservations. The staff is helpful. The waiting time was about 30 minutes, worth every second.

Am Rosenanger is an exceptional eatery in Brasov, renowned for its menu featuring Germanic dishes brought from countries like Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. The ambiance evokes a bygone era when Saxons had a significant cultural influence. It stands out as one of the top-notch restaurants in Brasov, offering unique culinary delights. The cuisine is heavenly with generous portions served during each visit. The interior creates a warm and charming setting while the staff consistently provides friendly and attentive service.
Simple but exceptional tastes. This restaurant has a wide variety of choices, from German to Hungarian food. We ate schnitzel with potato salad and chicken paprikas with noodles. For dessert we eat kaiserschmarrn. Everything tasted very very good. Nice staff. Kind place in the old town of Brassó with cosy vibes.

The schnitzels were spot on. The right amount of crunch and not too oily. Loved the kartoffeln salad and the touch of the cranberry sauce. The apple dessert was amazing. Unfortunately none of the staff wore a mask and they did not ask for the green pass. Too bad.
