It's surprisingly big. Lovely interior. You can climb the steeple, but it's not for the faint of heart. The steps are very old and worn, made of wood. The view from the top is spectacular. The ticket costs 20 kuna (approximately 2.7 €) and it's worth every cent.

The views are incredible from the tower but getting up and down is quite scary. The steps are small wooden planks with large gaps where you can see all the way down to the bottom. They are quite narrow and as well but the view makes it worth it. Went on a Sunday and it closed the morning for mass.

Church at the top of the hill in Rovinj old town. Story goes this is the final burial place of a girl who believed in Christianity but was tortured by the Romans. Cost 7 Euros to climb the bell tower, all 180 plus steps up wooden staircases where you will be rewarded with a great view.

The view from the bell tower is amazing, but be aware that is not for you if you suffer from fear of heights, those stairs are terrifying!

The walk to the church has historical markers in different languages along the way describing historical buildings and sites. So be careful as the well worn cobblestones are slippery in places. Shoes with good treads are a must if you have balance issues! Inside of the church is interesting and we especially enjoyed reading the history of how St Euphemia was brought to the church. Be prepared to respect the dress codes. I always take a scarf to cover my shoulders and husband always removes his hat. The view is sensational and photo opportunities are everywhere. As a plus everyone we spoke with in the Old Town area was quite pleasant.

A must to visit if you are in Rovinj. Situated at the top of the hill, you can wander through the narrow streets as you climb up Inside the church is lovely. Outside there are some great views.

Nice church on the top of the hill. What I found amazing is if you ask you can climb the bell tower until the top. Climbing there is just an adventure, the “steps” are made of wood, not all are the same size and you will se that everything is super old which for me was like magical thinking how the people climbed over there. The view of you manage to reach the top is breath taking. Price is not high Just for information the staff told me there are over 300 hundred steps but I counted around 180 so is not so difficult.

Beautiful church with an nice tower located on top of a hill. The climb to the top of the tower, however, is not for everyone. The steps are old, wooden, and have large gaps. If you can make it, you'll see a great view of the entire town. The church nave and alcoves are beautiful. It's well worth visiting.

Beautiful view from the tower, the church interior is also nice. The way up the tower is not something I expected. The stairway was very scary, and somewhat felt like my life was in danger. But it did make the experience better in the sense that it was an emotianal journey. Also the 3 stars is mainly because the ticket and souvenir guy was just rude for no reason and that's not something I like in a temple.

Amazing place. Really nice tour with the guide. E-car rent was a bit pricy, but we decided to rent it anyways because we wanted to see the whole island. It was really worth it, the island is beautiful and well maintained.

Lovly place in pre-season. Will be packed during summer and then just overrun. Pretty expensive (200€ for two person, two dogs, four hours of e-cart rent)

This is a must see island. Specially in the fall. Rent a scooter. You won’t be sorry. Cheers Oh ya! Watch out for dinosaurs.

Staff at Inforterminal ignores you and rather talks to other staff. If you talk to them they are rude and visibly annoyed. Nice island but service needs to get better

Brijuni are little paradise in Istria. On the west part, there is 9 hole golf course that is open the whole year. On eastern part, there is beautiful park, where a century ago a polo course had been. Flora is amazing. Just stunning. While excursion is great, we also love just to hop on daily visit and spend some great time on the beach. So relaxing!

The park has lovely walking paths along the coast and through the forest. There are few cute beaches there, playground (we unfortunately run out of time to visit it, so no idea in what condition it is) and a climbing area. Kids will love the park, even if the water is too cold for them to swim in.

Lovely pine forest walk around the little peninsula with plenty of places to sit on the rocks with view over the ocean.

If you're visiting Split then visit the forest. The views are spectacular. A lot of steps so not ideal if you have difficulty walking. Little zoo part way up and a Chapel built in 1209.

Lovely forrest walks or cycle rides. Nice cafes in the forrest, but you will need 1 euro coins if you need to use the toilets. Like all the areas around Raninj, it's really clean and tidy. Would recommend.

The most picturesque location in all of Istria, with a lovely park and one of the best climbing spots with a sea-view. After a hard climb a dip into the sea is a must.

A wonderful calm green space on the golden cape Rovinj. Perfect for walking cycling and relaxing. Has a number of cafe / beach bars - our favourite is paradiso overlooking Rovinj . The shores on the cape are popular for bathing in water and sun .

It is a unique park for a variety of active and non active hours to spend: joyful walk around the coast, walk into an enigmatic forest will surround you with a fresh air and amazing trees, ride a bike, here you can find a number of little cosy beaches, playground for kids, cafes. I definitely want to come back for a sunset here!

A beautiful spot to chill and swim. You can either bring your own beach kit or pay for a sunlounger which is about 300 kuna a day. There is a bar with public toilets and showers. A,long promenade is perfect for walks. It's currently very busy so mind bikes and scooters. Crystal clear water is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

Very, very pretty! We had a sunset picnic. There were no street lights so make sure you have a torch light with you when you happen to be there when it's dark.

An amazing place to visit and enjoy gradually if you are on vacation and like combination of sea and discovering beautiful beaches! Many do it by bicycle!

My favorite island in Croatia but with condition you arrive on your own boat...on island is everything...nice swimming pool,nice beaches all around,2 great restaurants,coffee shops,nude beach,great hotel,ferry boat connection to Rovinj....I come to island every year....

They have changed the ferry system, it now does not work, there is no sign that you need to buy the ferry on the harbour from the random guy who you don't notice so the ferry leaves without you and its an hour till the next one. Staff are rude and good luck getting a ferry back at peak times, used to be superb now spoilt by the ferries, I would not recommend anymore

Nice hotel, no central beach but many many places to lie down and access the water, no cars, semi public (only accessible by ferry, only 1 hotel), great breakfast.

This place is stunning. Island hotel with hourly boat ferry. Crystal clear waters and private beaches.

The beach is VIP, even in the free part. A sun lounger costs EUR 25, I think. The beach is pebble or concrete. The water is clear. Unfortunately, I stepped on a hedgehog. The beach can be reached on foot from the port. Anyway, worth a visit.

Great place, BUT PAY ATTENTION TO THE Sea urchins in the water. Don't go to the water before being aware of those. They might hurt you and f* up the rest of your vacation.

Very clean and modern beach (concrete) with lawn chairs and umbrella’s for rent. The price is pretty steep though (actually just outright expensive) so if you want a cheaper alternative go further south for another 500m or so past the beach restaurant

Such a gorgeous beach with such ugly and unreasonably high prices. It’s hilarious how a beer worth 7€ and a set of two simple sunbeds and one parasol worth 120€. The shower is ice cold, no shampoo or soap. Two years ago the prices were kinda tolerable, but now… I wonder if next year they will raise the sunbed prices to 200€ 🫠🔫

Beautiful, cosy, clean and very friendly organized beach, divided between three hotels... part of it is reserved for 5 star hotels... small, safe and clean bay for swimming. Also pools by side, bars... towels for hotel guests, showers on the side. Prices can be high, especially during peak season, when is also very crowded. Recommended!

Fancy; well maintained pebble beach, pricey and crowded. Minimum fee of 130€ for two sunbeds. If you are with a dog, don't bother coming as they are forbidden, so head directly to the nearest dog beach.

Fa-bu-lous! Comfy beds, good drinks and fine light lunch. Price reflects its upmarket status but not unaffordable. Showers, towels included and clean loos... Fab. Recommended for that treat you have promised yourself!

Rovinj is the most beautiful city in Croatia for me. Rich history, beautiful architecture and a good atmosphere are always a good magnet to visit. Beautiful narrow buildings, squares, churches, streets, restaurants, bars make this place unparalleled. So is the entrance to the old city from the city square through the beautiful baroque Balbi's arch unique. Balbi's arch, Venetian structure is covered with stone. In its present place was once the main gate of a fortified city, the Porton della pescheria. In 1678 - 1679, the old city gates were demolished and Balbi's arch was built in their place. Built in the time of Mayor Daniel Balbi, as evidenced by the inscription on a stone slab placed on the arch. At the top of the arch is a figure of the head, on the outside of the arch is in Turkish style, and on the inside of the Venetian style. Also on Balbi's arch there is a figure of Venetian lion. Anyway interesting and nice.

Absolutely beautiful area. I wouldn't eat on he harbour though (somewhat boring, over priced restaurants), but a must visit place, look at the boats etc. If we had more time definitely would have gone out on some kind of boat trip, there are a number that leave from this area.

Great location with beautiful views and opportunities to walk around. Food was good and very friendly service. The rooms were pretty much all the same. Nothing really special. On our first night we stayed in a standard room and on the second night we stayed in a upgraded suit /deluxe room. But the difference was hardly noticable except for the large balcony.

Nice property, cool location, great buffet, great air conditioning in the room. Half panel flat bottomed shower, which I'm not a fan of but I made it work. Nice bathroom products. Quiet and peaceful with the exception of some guests or staff who were loud in the hallway on occasion.

Very nice island. Nice architecture but you get the feeling it might have had its glory days. Although I did have a very good time there. And the view are absolutely stunning

This is a beautiful place to stay. Stunning views from all directions. The ferry service to the mainland is dependable like clockwork. Friendly, helpful staff. Beds could be more comfortable, but still are adequate.

Stayed here for 4 nights in May. Check In: When you arrive at ferry check in, after check in the driver must follow the shuttle to another parking lot about 10 minutes away. Overall, this took us about 20-25min so plan accordingly if you are trying to time your arrival with the ferry. Other important notes, our booking said we could check in at 1300, at the hotel they stated 1500. Ferry: arrives only once per hour, it would've been nice to have more frequent ferries as needed, but you can have it drop you at the old Town or the ferry check in at delfin. Wifi: non-exisistent in room, could get it in lobby. Rooms: simple but we had rooms with balconies which was nice to enjoy the sunset from. Food: large selection for breakfast and dinner. Dinner is 25euro per person, and although a large selection, it is buffet food, so don't expect a lot in terms of quality or taste. Hotel grounds: this was the best part of our stay. Many secluded areas of the island with a walking path and small rocky beaches to explore. Would be very lovely when it's warm enough to swim.

Spectacular hotel from the "old peace times" but renovated in good shape. We visited just the restaurant for a lunch, but we were very satisfied with the service and the dishes. Best Cesar salad.

We came as a couple. We loved the breakfast and dinner buffet - a lot of different choices, food tasted good. The staff was very friendly and professional, rooms clean. The views were wonderful, the whole island is very clean and well mantained. We came back peaceful & rested. I recommend!

The location is great. Ferry boats run every hour to take us to the old town. Cozy hotel with nice views. Breakfast was very good and the pool was nice. Rooms were outdated. Wifi was not reliable. They asked us to pay a deposit for wifi which would be returned back end of stay. Also, there was a fee for pool towels.

Hotel in a beautiful location with good facilities! Objectionable staff member, arrogant, rude, dishonest and proceeded to threaten us! This hotel needs to invest in staff training if it is to achieve any kind of international status! I recommend you go elsewhere until they get their act together.

What a great weekend we spent at this hotel and I cannot describe how satisfied we were. Before arriving, the hotel has instructed us how to approach the hotel and where to park the car. Everything went well as planned and of course, all the extra service like parking and boat shuttle are included in the rate. Located on a small island near Rovinj, this hotel has an outstanding view towards Rovinj, its private beach with free sunbathing chairs and umbrellas. Staffs are super helpful and tentative to your request. My boyfriend had birthday during our stay and we received a bottle of sparkling wine from the hotel which was a great gesture from them. Breakfast was huge, very delicious and so many options even though for vegan or vegetarians. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas so you don’t have to “fight” for them. The only minus point is that the room is quite old and outdated. But everything is very clean and you have everything you need so we didn’t mind to be honest. So all in all, this is 5/5 rate and hopefully we could be back soon!

Hotel is in this very beautiful island surrounded with great beaches and outdoor pool. The outdoor areas, walkways and restaurants are also very nice. The rooms need a little update. I am sure they are doing the renovations little by little which is very understandable. However, the cleaning services does not match with the price point at all. We came to a hotel room which was not properly cleaned, with hair everywhere in the bathroom. The towels we got from the daily housekeeping were never properly cleaned. 2-3 towels out of 4 towels were always stained. So as conclusion, the island and the hotel generally is very beautiful but the cleaning services require an improvement.

The island looks absolutely stunning! Many paths to go for a walk, beach chairs are all around the island. The problem is to find a perfect spot, as they are all so beautiful. Staff is very polite and helpful. There is a boat that goes every hour from the island to the city of Rovinj (the last one goes around midnight or 1am, not sure) and back, 10 min ride. Rooms are nice, but they could use some renovation for the wooden parts. Considering all that island/hotel offers, this is not so relevant. I highly recommend you to visit it if you have at least few hours of your free time.

Everything is clean and tidy. Staff are professional. View from the room is spectacular. The beach is clean, water in the pool also. Food in the restaurant has good variety from fruits to sausages and very tasty bagels.

We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of June. The hotel is beautiful on a beautiful island. It is very quiet and peaceful, great for relaxing. The food and service is top quality. We booked a normal room, it is a bit outdated but the bathroom is renovated which is a great feature. I asked for gluten and milk free meals, which they were able to accomodate without problems. No problems with the ferry to the mainland either, it came on time. The parking is a bit difficult as only the driver is able to go to the car, the rest of the guests have to stay with luggage. All in all, we are very satisfied and are happy that we picked Hotel Katarina.

We stayed at Maistra Select Island Hotel Katarina between the 29th of August and the 5th of September 2003. Fiestly booking in at the Delphin Jetty and then again at the main reception. We had choosen a room with a view over Rovinj and were not disapointed. Although the room was small it was clean (cleaned daily) and suitable to our needs. You will need a router for your room if you are any distance from reception (10 Euros refunded) We booked as B&B guests but had the chance to try lunch and evening meals at the hotel. Morning and evening meals are buffet style. The evening buffet leaves much to be desired and of poor quality. I understand it is mass catering but, even mass catering can be produced with some love and attention to detail. The best Lunch to be had is at the Bistro Plaza which is by the area reserved for Grand Park guests, along with the best sun loungers!! And was unfortunately shut for 3 days due to weather and a private function. Odd that the hotel seems to prioritise outside buisness before their own guests, but there we are. The staff in the main were polite and welcoming, but some employees were very clearly in the wrong job, or just very unhappy in their work. Either way there is no need for rudeness. I should like to give a special mention to the staff in the reception and the staff on main reception who were brilliant, helpful and pleased to help. Our dependance on the ferry's became more obvious, when a storm meant cancelations and the private function threw everything into chaos... timetable changes, changes in the routes and no prior warning meant a great deal of frustration The island is green, wild in places and still feels calm. Unfortunately, the island is also open to the general public and the calm can be ruined by too many visitors. Get up early! On the upside when the crowds have gone there is great fishing from the rocks, starting at the cliff dive site and further marks towards main jetty. And if you are into sea glass you will be amazed by the amounts and quality on the small beaches at the rear of the Hotel.

We stopped by without reservations. Frank is the most welcoming and gracious hosts. We tasted their wines, which are very good, and met the family. We spent the afternoon enjoying the wine and conversation. When we left, we felt a friendship with Frano and Carmen (his mom).

Easy to find right outside Rovinj, owner was so fun to talk to and easygoing. We had the best wine tasting with all organic wine, truly one of the best experiences we had in Croatia.

I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday one month in advance of our arrival. The day and time came and we were left alone at a clearly empty property. We made the mistake of assuming they’d honour the agreement and waited 2 hours. As I explained in advance it was my husband’s birthday and we were travelling with a baby. They didn’t answer the phone, they didn’t reply to the emails, nothing. About four hours after our agreed meeting time they emailed unapologetically and said to come whenever we want during the week. I guess this is the service from an overly commercial enterprise that doesn’t need individual customers. Doesn’t leave a good taste in the mouth but obviously I can’t speak to the wine we never had the chance to taste.

Really cool place, the owners are super nice and the property on a high hill with a great view of the sea and the coastline. The olive oil was top notch and the wines tasted very good too. I had the chance to try the donkey milk - weird, yet tasty! I recommend visiting this place and buying some of their fresh organic products.

We went for a beautiful afternoon to this great family-owned winery. Surrounded by rolling hills with symmetric rows of grapevines in the background, we were nestled cozily under a gorgeous canopy of kiwi vine ripe with fruits ready for the picking. The hosts were so hospitable and happy to answer all of our questions. It was a delightful day full of cheese, house-smoked meats, fresh grapes, and the best sweetest, plump, fresh figs I’ve ever had the opportunity to taste. What a treat! We will definitely return!

What a fantastic and special family winery! Definitely worth a visit. We were road-tripping to Rovinj, happened to see their sign, and decided check it out… which turned out to be the best impromptu stop ever. The owner was so welcoming and explained in detail the history behind the property, the wines, the olive oil and the cheese/salami platter we tried. Since tourist season wasn’t yet in full force, we were the only ones there and felt so lucky to get such personalized attention from her. The olive oil and wines were some our favorites on this trip! And the setting was so magical as we sat under the shade of a kiwi trellis whose flowers were in bloom. We also met her adorable donkeys, went for a short walk on the property to enjoy the spectacular views of the water and islands in the distance. And on top of that, the tasting and all the wines were very reasonably priced!

This week I had the pleasure of visiting this family-owned winery for a wine tasting (suggested by a friend), and it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment the 3 of us arrived, we were struck by the relaxing atmosphere of the place. We stayed for more than two hours and sampled 5 wines (2 whites, one rose and two reds). Throughout the tasting, the owners shared stories about their family and the history of the winery. They also emphasized how much effort they put in the biodynamic production. The star of the tasting was the olive oil, served with a cold platter, which I would recommend 10/10.

Absolutely one of the best wine and olive oil tasting tours I have ever experienced. The very friendly, social nephew of the winemaker showed my girlfriend and me around, talked us through the tasting of their very own products and helped us buy some of these products. The (sustainable) products are a bit expensive but of very high quality. The wine tasting tour could even be called cheap for what you get, both quantity as quality. All in all an amazing experience, perfect for a birthday present or just a very nice afternoon.

We stumbled across this winery (looking for another which - fortunately, it turned out - seemed to be closed) and had ***such*** a nice afternoon in a beautiful leafy, relaxed outdoor patio space. We sampled five wines and shared a cold platter of excellent local produce and probably the nicest olive oil I've ever tasted. Had it for into my luggage I'd have definitely brought some home. I'd go back here in a heartbeat.

We recently stumbled across Collis in Rovinj and had the most relaxing afternoon. Carmen, the host, greeted us warmly and took the time to give us a comprehensive introduction to their exquisite selection of organic wines. I highly recommend trying their Malvasia, a truly stunning summer wine that left us craving for more. In fact, we were so enamored by it that we couldn't resist buying a box to savor at home. A visit to Collis is definitely worth your while, as it promises a relaxing and memorable experience.

My sister and I stumbled across this place a bit by accident but ended up having an awesome wine tasting and a cheese platter. The wines are organic and were really great as was the food. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and even brought us gluten free bread! Lovely view as well :)

Nice 'lagoon' surrounded by rocky beach and a pine forrest/park. Relatively small spot with pebbles (better for families and kids) - otherwise rocks. There are sunbeds and there's a bar as well. Lovely in late afternoon, when most people leave :)

Lovely shade in the pine trees. The beach looks nice with both rocks or pebbles, but the water is not very clean. Even though there were a lot of people, it was not very crowded. The bar is nice, coffee is great!

We visited here at night and during the day and even at night the view was breathtaking. They have chairs you can rent, they have a bar you can get drinks and some food, they have a bicycle path and everything is surrounded by beautiful trees. The water is not very warm but just the right temperature for a hot summer day. You can even see little fish swimming in the water.

Less overcrowded than other beaches in Rovinj. Gravel type with longer distonce to deep water ( good for people with kids). But small good entrance to sea, mostly is stoned walk to sea. Parking approx. 300m away (free of charge) , but quite big slope down.

The water is nicer elsewhere, but this beach offered beautiful old pine trees, which were great to sit under. Entrance to the sea is also a bit suboptimal in places. The beach offers quite many bistros.

Very nice beach. A bit rocky at some places but we enjoyed a lot. The main beach is very good to be with children. And if you want to have a walk near the beach there is suitable path. Also comfortable with bikes.

A large beach with sunbeds and plenty of shade. An ideal place even for the whole day as it is near the forest which provides plenty of shade and it is pleasant here even in the hot hours.

Lots of space, places to sun as well as lay in the shadow. Free parking very close to the beach, as well as sanitary buildings.

The beach is nice, smaller stones, some rocky parts, but if you get into the water after a few meters there is fine sand and a nice walk to the deep waters.. surrounded by pine forrest, and a nice beach bar. There is also a toilet which you pay 7 kn for one use.. there are two masage spots too.. nice for couples and a great deal of peace .. not so crowded 🙃

Shady and free beach but there is only one shower possibility and you have to pay for it. You need to be careful of rocks in the sea.

Everybody can find an own flat rock to sunbathee. The see is so clean, you can see several underwater see animals.

Very nice and cute little cafe-bar in the heart of the old town. Nice cozy tables and romantic atmosphere. We went there twice for breakfast, we had the croissants, coffee and juice combo. The coffee is very good! They even have oat milk. We went there with our baby and dog and the waiter was always very nice and attentive.

First time visit despite staying 20 metres away two years running; always closed! Lovrly spot opposite restaurant Mali Raj. ( Eaten there, ok.ish ) . Small inside but lovely outside area. ( When it rains indoor space in the old town is at a premium.) Craft beer San Servolo , just under £5 a bottle so not a cheap spot but good to chill. Rose wine a bit too red for Paulicarus.

A very cute place, but also very expensive. We really enjoyed this place, it’s extremely cute and it is placed in one of the nicest areas of old Rovinj. The cold brew coffee in particular was great, and properly woke us up after a big lunch. On the downside, it’s quite expensive, with a coffee that’s more expensive than a cocktail not far from here.

Cozy atmosphere in the old town of Rovinji. Located in a small square. Good selection of drinks. Personal is kind. Prices are in line with other bars. If you like cozyinees I really suggest this pub!

An average hipster café in a good location, which is grossly overpriced. A small local beer (0.33l) costs almost 6€. Cash only, no euros. The toilet was only moderately clean.

The place is nice, but overpriced. What’s awful is the service you get. The blonde waitress doesn’t really have manners when it comes to politeness. Rolling eyes in front of us because she didn’t understand what we asked.

I hesitate to write this review, I would rather keep this awesome unique place a secret a little longer so it don't get too crowded. But it would be doing everyone a disservice to not share this great hostel at a great location. It is a wonderful old building that is very clean, well maintained and ghost free. I was reluctant to stay at a hostel at first but this experience put my worries at ease. Did I mention the location? Wow! I will definitely be back, hopefully it is not too crowded.

My review for this place is bad. The owner was very unprofessional and would consistently make inappropriate comments. The hostel itself wasn’t any better. The door handle didn’t latch so it would just swing open. The air conditioning didn’t work and the room was hotter than outside. The showers and sinks were all clogged and disgusting. The WiFi does not work in most of the rooms. Stay away if you can.

My fiancé and I had a lovely stay here. This being our first time in Croatia, we wanted a friendly, clean, centralized location to explore Pula. Staff and other travelers here were super friendly and made our stay so enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place!!

The staff were fantastic, helpful with advice, and very accommodating to my needs. The place was comfortable and in a great location. Not to mention the on site bar and common areas, which ended up being a great place to meet other travelers and unwind after a day out. They offer many ammenties such as kitchen access, computer, WiFi, TV. Next time Im in Croatia I will definitely choose Riva Hostel again!

I really loved this hostel because its close to the bus terminal plus the major beaches and sights of the town. Romano and the staff are really kind and helped me a lot when i wanted to go somewhere. They also have a well equipped kitchen where you cluld even cook. I can only recommend this hostel.

Hostel had everything you could expect. Individual lockers with their own locks, no own lock needed. Room had airconditioning and enough power sockets. Showers had running hot water. Only problem is that since the hostel common area was an outdoor terrace, it can be chilly.

Best hostel in Pula. Awesome terrace; fully stocked bar with low prices on beer, wine, liquor, and espresso; caring and professional staff; very clean rooms and facilities; huge kitchen; and perfect location right in the center. They offer cheap airport pick up and drop off (taxi to airport is massively expensive and buse schedule is wacky).

We did not have a good experience with this hostel. I wasn’t planning on reviewing here, but after reading other people’s reviews (who had similar experiences) and the horrible responses from management, I thought I would add our story about this place. My husband and I stayed for three nights about a week ago. We purposely booked a Sea View Room because we wanted to see the ocean. Because it was the offseason we notified reception when we would arrive. When we did arrive at 14h (as agreed), we were told that our room was being cleaned at the moment, and if we left our stuff in the common room and came back in an hour, it would be ready. So, we went for a walk and came back after 1h 15min. We were given keys, but didn’t need them as everything was completely unlocked and open. We sat by our bags and read for another half hour before we went up and asked what was happening with our room. We were met with incredulity and surprise and told it would be ‘another few minutes.’ So, we went back down and read again. By 16h15, we went back and asked when the room would be ready as we were tired and just wanted to check in. The guy said he thought the room we were sitting in was going to be our room, and when we said that we wanted an actual room (and not a common room filled with ants, and with a bathroom covered in mould) he got angry at me. He said that we could go to a sister hostel that might have a room because there wasn’t any others available. Then he said if we waited ‘another few minutes’ we would have a room that was JUST vacated by another girl. Ten minutes later, we went back again, and he said it wasn’t ready yet. So this time, I waited and walked to the room with all of our bags. They had just begun cleaning. After ten more minutes, it was ready, but the linen would be up in ‘a few minutes’, and when I asked about the keys, it was the same. We waited fifteen minutes, and then I went and interrupted the guy who was smoking with his friends and asked about linen and the keys. He then got them for me. By this time, it was after 17h, and we had been waiting since 14h to get a room. For the stay and room itself – we didn’t get the Sea View Room. Yes, we did get one with an ensuite, but the tap was broken, and I had to ask for toilet paper. After the stress of the check in and the increasing frustration of the staff member, I didn’t want to ask about getting the room we booked. We only had one towel, the wardrobe was broken, the bed slats were broken. The bins weren’t empty, the shower was dirty, and the bedside table was filled with random rubbish. The kitchen was very dirty and we had to clean every dish before we used it. The terrace was filled with sheets, mattresses, and linens (apparently there was a deep clean happening), and the hallways smelt horrible. The few times I used the shared showers and toilets were pretty gross – there was black mould working up one of the showers and the toilets smelt odd. We had very few dealings with any staff – there was almost never anyone around. This was fine, but when we asked if we could get our bus tickets printed, he said sure, email them. So we did, and we never saw him again. We walked around the town for 45minutes finding someone who would print them out. I can’t comment on the attitudes of the staff or the myriad freebies that they apparently give out, because we obviously received none of that. Which is fine. I understand it is the off season, and that means that the bar won’t open, there won’t be any interaction with staff, and the extras aren’t included. Again, that’s completely OK. We kept to ourselves and things were okay, but we would definitely never stay there again, and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I’m sure things are better in peak season when the bar is open, there are more staff, and they deliver on the things that they maintain they do, but as it was, it was not positive.

To access the site you need travel a couple of kilometers along a narrow gravel road. It's doable but one should be prepared for a rough ride. Views from the site are impressive. And the ruins themselves are an important part of the ancient historical landscape. The human need to feel secure found a form in fortified hilltop towns. I found it peaceful and intriguing.

This is a not particularly interesting Iron Age hill fort. Only worth visiting if you are passing

Really impressive site, easy to wander round and is really well understood given the number of information boards all n4 different languages. Worth a quick half hour visit.

Even if you're not a history enthusiast it's a nice place to visit for a scenic view or picnic. It is easily accessible with parking place in Kukoletovica next to Pula - Rovinj road. From there there are signs pointing to Monkodonja which is about 1km walk uphil. For a few thousand year old structure it is in decent condition, and there are few informative boards with info panels on site. There is no much shade on top, except underneath one oak tree.

Good place to visit, I went in the brain and was the only one there...but was an amazing atmosphere!

The location was great and I would have loved to leave a nice review but the quality of the room was just very low. This is a 4-star hotel and my room was 180 euros for one night! For 180 euros, you don't expect to walk into a shower with a faulty shower head, moldy caulking everywhere, black residue inside the toilet bowl, a buildup of mold on the sink faucet... you don't expect to find rusty shelves and black mold on the walls of the room. This was simply unacceptable, even for a 1-star hotel. The management begrudgingly moved us to a different room, which was better but still I cannot recommend this hotel.

Very expensive hotel which is a 3 stars and not 4. They give us 2 rooms and 15 minutes later the recepcionist told us that she has commited a mistake and she change us one of the rooms to a worst room(small and dark)They should clean more the bathroom and renew the bed linen. Breakfast was good and it has an incredible location in the center of the town.

Not sure if this hotel had street tables for drinks before now but definitely our first visit. Situated just uo from Batel bsr we had a relaxing beer / Aperol. Very lucky that there was a high class Spanish guitarist playing just up the street. About £2.40 for my large beer. Aperol Spritz about £5. Great fun reading bad reviews by numpties who complain that the narrow cobbled streets of the old town do not have cars and car psrking. I am an idiot but a genius compared to many.

So firstly, the location - on a beautiful picturesque street in the middle of the Old Town - it's really easy to get to (as long as you don't follow Google Maps directions which will wind you far away from it). The breakfast and lounge area are charming and cozy. As for the room - we had booked a one bedroom apartment through TripAdvisor - and while we received a one bedroom apartment, it was very different in person from the luxurious images they provided on the trip advisor website. There are several rooms in the building, all different and you never know which one you'll receive (we had room #01). The sitting area was adequate, though nothing special, the bedroom was a bit cramped - with an odd window that looked into a cramped patio/storage space. For our needs it was definitely adequate and for the price it was more than fair - though I do wish the pictures weren't so different from what they presented online. Either they had a really good photographer or for the same room category, some of the rooms are much nicer than others. Overall, you can't beat the location, the price, and the cozy feel of the hotel in general - just temper your expectations as to what room you end up with.

This hotel is in a wonderful location! The rooms are very nice and clean. When I arrived I was greeted by a young woman named Ela who was very friendly and helpful! She even offered to show me around Rovinj In her free time. She makes all of the guests feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is not a hotel: it is a hostel where the staff cannot speak English. Therefore, it should not have 4 stars. The rooms are not as elegant as the photos, some elements of the bathroom are dirty and even the latter has no privacy. In its favor it has that it is located in the center of Rovinj, that the breakfast is quite acceptable and that it has air conditioning in all the rooms. The price is totally high for what it offers.

Very disappointing.The hotel has no parking. And we had to carry the bags about 500 meters! The beds are uncomfortable. Some of them are sofas that opens to bed! From the long trip we made, this was the only hotel that disappointed us.

The famous church in Rovinj, a beautiful view of it from various locations around Rovinj. The church is located on a hill, and various beautiful paved paths lead to it. Entrance to the church is free. For a minimal fee, you can climb to the bell tower, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city and the sea. Also sarcophagus is located in the church. The interior of the church is beautiful. It is very crowded here.

It's surprisingly big. Lovely interior. You can climb the steeple, but it's not for the faint of heart. The steps are very old and worn, made of wood. The view from the top is spectacular. The ticket costs 20 kuna (approximately 2.7 €) and it's worth every cent.

The views are incredible from the tower but getting up and down is quite scary. The steps are small wooden planks with large gaps where you can see all the way down to the bottom. They are quite narrow and as well but the view makes it worth it. Went on a Sunday and it closed the morning for mass.

Church at the top of the hill in Rovinj old town. Story goes this is the final burial place of a girl who believed in Christianity but was tortured by the Romans. Cost 7 Euros to climb the bell tower, all 180 plus steps up wooden staircases where you will be rewarded with a great view.

The view from the bell tower is amazing, but be aware that is not for you if you suffer from fear of heights, those stairs are terrifying!

The walk to the church has historical markers in different languages along the way describing historical buildings and sites. So be careful as the well worn cobblestones are slippery in places. Shoes with good treads are a must if you have balance issues! Inside of the church is interesting and we especially enjoyed reading the history of how St Euphemia was brought to the church. Be prepared to respect the dress codes. I always take a scarf to cover my shoulders and husband always removes his hat. The view is sensational and photo opportunities are everywhere. As a plus everyone we spoke with in the Old Town area was quite pleasant.

A must to visit if you are in Rovinj. Situated at the top of the hill, you can wander through the narrow streets as you climb up Inside the church is lovely. Outside there are some great views.

Nice church on the top of the hill. What I found amazing is if you ask you can climb the bell tower until the top. Climbing there is just an adventure, the “steps” are made of wood, not all are the same size and you will se that everything is super old which for me was like magical thinking how the people climbed over there. The view of you manage to reach the top is breath taking. Price is not high Just for information the staff told me there are over 300 hundred steps but I counted around 180 so is not so difficult.

Beautiful church with an nice tower located on top of a hill. The climb to the top of the tower, however, is not for everyone. The steps are old, wooden, and have large gaps. If you can make it, you'll see a great view of the entire town. The church nave and alcoves are beautiful. It's well worth visiting.

Good looking church from the inside, but nothing extra on the outside. However you can take some nice photos sitting on the stone wall at the church square before sunset (after 18:00).

Very nice church with exceptional view on the city and surroundings. The stairs are not in the best condition, but it definitely worth climbing up to the top.

Beautiful view from the tower, the church interior is also nice. The way up the tower is not something I expected. The stairway was very scary, and somewhat felt like my life was in danger. But it did make the experience better in the sense that it was an emotianal journey. Also the 3 stars is mainly because the ticket and souvenir guy was just rude for no reason and that's not something I like in a temple.
