Peaceful place to spend half a day in the nature surrounded by flamingos and other water birds which are crossing the sky above you or float graciously on the lakes or sea. The ruins of the old tonnara come to make the experience richer and the beach and the rocks invite you to explore them.

‘Hidden Gem’ - birding is fab here - we watched a Spoonbill furiously trotting and feeding through the lagoon amongst the flamingos and shrikes and reed warblers and lapwing. Gorgeous trek on the coastal path amongst fields of orchid and wild fennel and miniature iris. We ended with a swim at Calamosca beach - 15 minutes in very invigorating sea. Fascinating stop at an ancient tuna plant. A glorious escape from busy sightseeing. If you go here and are caught short needing a ‘comfort break’ please consider where you put your dirty paper - it’s not nice to see it on the path!

Perfect place to regain peace in yourself while you are looking at the flamingo in their happy natural habitat. Ideal setting for taking picturesque photos, unforgettable memories like in a postcard ....It has it all from the colours changing sea water to the blue white sky with its own fantastic shaped clouds and the ruins around (especially the leftover pilar) that are making this place breathing....I could lose myself in that artistic paint.

Beautiful, busy and a long walk from a paid carpark through a paid nature reserve. Lovely fresh juice bar in the shade of the olive trees near the carpark.

If your looking for nature this is. A great place as there is a lake full of wild life. If you love history it's also a great place because of the history and remains of the tuna factory facilities. There is seaweed in the area that results in these perfect balls of sea weed fibres again very unique. However it also create large streches of waste which make access to swim and swimming unpleasant that's why I have rated it 4 stars otherwise for other things mentioned it's 5 stars.

This is a very interesting and beautiful place to visit. There are a lot of information boards, in several languages, explaining the various flora and fauna of the area. The restored Roman fish processing complex is well worth a visit.

Now it is safe place, well organized, with videosurveilanze, parking inside and outside. Not much to see, but can be interesting. This is a pure nature. You can go up to the tower to watch birds. You can make a little walk. From here is nice Etna view.

We visited Eloro beach, which is stunning. You leave you car on the road just outside the reserve and there's a €3.50 entrance fee. They only accept credit cards- no cash. It's a 10- minute walk to the lovely beach. The water is clear and the sand is clean. It wasn't too crowded when we were there in September.

A nice walk but birds are so far away that most visitors couldn't really see anything. We had a scope and saw a fair few birds but it was not a particularly great birding day. We visited Apr 20 2024. Car parking costs €5 and entry €2.

Lovely natural reserve, very beautiful. There are a lot of families and the wait time to get in can be a bit long (30 - 45 minutes). Nevertheless, once you’re in, there are many great things to see and nice beaches to spend the day at.

Beach is medium sized. It has nice sand but plant debris forms a band at the waterline. Main problem when we went was that it was super windy and we couldnt put up our umbrella for shade. Water is warm and clean. You can see the abandoned tons factory further along but that on itself is a bit boring. You can go to a birdwatching spot to see flamingoes.

A natural reserve is not about “going to the beach”, but it is rather a special place with a wild and amazing nature to connect to. Walking the pathways all the way to Calamosca is a beautiful experience for its landscapes. Visiting the ancient Tonnara is also beautiful and the atmosphere of the sun between the pillars is breath taking. However, my vote is 2 because of the trash in the area which is not acceptable considering how many people are paying the ticket price.

Short history: The Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church in the style of the Sicilian Baroque. Its construction began in the early 18th century and was completed in 1776. In 1996 tue dome collapsed because of structural weakening caused by an earthquake in 1990. It has been rebuilt, and reopened in 2007. Beautiful from outside.

The view of the cathedral was breathtaking. Sitting on those huge long stairs being caressed from the warm sunshine and having the pleasure to hear a music artist playing an electric guitar singing classic songs next by was an unforgettable moment in time.

It was nice but I liked more Church of St. Francesco di Assisi. The stairs are impressive and the cathedral too. If you are in Noto, do not miss it. :)

Generally speaking, Noto was one of the best places we visited in Sicily. The historical part of the city is a wide street closed to traffic and full of joy. The cathedral looks amazing, especially from the outside. Worth visiting to spend a nice evening.

Beautiful interior, this is a must visit. Amongst the Italian countryside, from now and there are these scattered gems. With history dating back hundreds of years, this building is the perfect place to learn about the history of the island, its culture and the architecture surrounding the building. The high roof and art painted onto the structure really bring out the feeling and grandness of the building. Perfect for photos and memories of Sicily. Location wise, it is the centre so expect bustling crowds and tourists. I recommend going in between 2:00-4:00 as it is the most quiet before the evening rush. Outside are many statues and cafes so you can survive the heat. Awesome and awe inspiring place.

Wonderful beach club for a relaxing day by the sea. Great service and food, very clean and we'll organized. Can eat at the restaurant or order food directly from your beach bed! Costs a bit more but offers a lot more than other beach bars that offer parasol, beds and basic food.

Everything was fantastic here - great value at EUR25 for two adults and a baby. Graduated pricing away from sea front, as well as cheaper price for smaller umbrella, so worked out at great value. Spacious, doesn't feel crammed in on the beach at all. Clear white sand (not rocky), extremely clear sea water and shallow so perfect for kids. Service was the usual high quality that you get everywhere across Sicily - child friendly and always cheerful. Food was great too, and clean facilities. Parking was EUR3 so again good value. Strongly recommend

This is one of the best beaches where I've ever been. The sand is clean, the sea color looks sapphire green. The services are extensive, there are toilets, unlimited showers, sunbeds with umbrella and hight quality bar with normal prices. Very nice personal.

Agua beach 🏖 is one of my favorites places in the whole of Sicily. The water is crystal clear, featuring more turquoise colors that I ever thought possible! The lido itself offers shady umbrellas, an awesome restaurant with tasty food and a great cocktail bar. 🍸 Also a very big Parking! 😃👍🏻🚗

Sicily has different kind of beaches, the fine sand ones and all the others. Each have their pros and cons. If you look for a fine sand beach with crystal clear water then you have to go to San Lorenzo beach area which is next to Vendicari natural parc and beach. The Lido Agua has a very structured Lido. You have to reserve your ombrellone, in this case palma 🏝 or palmetta as well as the row you want to stay in. As you might imagine the price depends on the moment of the season, the day (eg week-end) and the row (first more expensive than the last). The structure offers a paid parking area if you come by car, and all other amenities that one can expect from a trendy beach. Restaurant, bar, sometimes live music, shop, playground for kids, separated showers for women and men with warm water options, toilets, changing rooms, all is not only there but also very clean. A whole multilingual staff takes care about the customers and let them have a perfect day on the beach. You can even dine at the restaurant in the evening. The card is limited but you sit very cosy outside next to beach. We were even witnesses of a wedding that took place on the beach. This impacts of course the restaurant afterwards. I recommend to book the restaurant a few days in advance and if you want to eat Pizza in the evening, I do recommend also to ask in advance if the Pizzeria is run that day. I can fully recommend Lido Agua for its well organised and clean beach 🏖

Excellent and beautiful beach. Around noon we were still able to get parking spot for us. For lunch there was two options, self service line or a la carte. My family got very flexible service from the a la carte side because we were shown a table even though the lunch hours were officially over already. I would call that a nice service attitude. The shower and changing facilities were pretty crowded because there were not enough of them when the beach was almost full. I would still recommend the place considering the overall experience.

Quite expensive - 80 euros for an umbrella and 4 sun beds. limited cheaper options for just 2 sun beds (45 euros on row 9). We drove a car from Syracuse to Lido San Lorenzo Beach and took almost an hour to get there. Lido San Lorenzo beach in Sicily is another attractive place to spend time in the beach. The place is very nice, and has a fantastic view to the sea. A great place to swim and to spend a day. I was there in July 2020 with my family and the beach was already crowded but mostly local Italian tourists. Some of these places have been divided between public beach and run private place. The private one is where they charge you entering into their premises use their umbrella (cost 35 euros for three beds and one umbrella) the private beach is well organised and they have a shower , guards but there are no towel available for rent. You have to bring your own towels if you want to swim. The beach is quiet long and nice situated in a nice place. Some of these private place has a nice restaurant coupled with great view to the Ionian sea. They served foods and fresh sea foods, and drinks and cocktails . The public beach is usually quiet crowded and chaotic as its free for everyone to use, some of the them even bring their own umbrella as the sun can get very warm. The place is lovely and nice and enjoyed very much. I look forward to visit the place again.

Beautiful beach! We tried Lido San Lorenzo Plus for the first time, and it is peak season!! So, as others have said, no one takes the phone for reservations. We arrived early to be sure to have chairs. In the “Plus” area there is good space between umbrellas and also between the canvas beds. They did not overcrowd the beach. Plenty of room in the water also, which was pleasant when we observed the crowds at the adjacent Lidos. I have to say the service was friendly and efficient. The food was fine. Not excellent. (You can’t compare it with fine beach service/food experienced on the Italian/French Rivera) The lounge chairs are more comfortable than most lidos. And the “canvas beds” provide outstanding comfort and it is nice to have the cover and curtains for those of us who desire some shade. I also must add, that they DO NOT frown upon patrons bringing their own food and beverages. Coolers ARE allowed on this beach. That was nice.

I loved it. The atmosphere was so relaxing, the staff nice, helpful and kind. If you want to spend a day away of everything and just threat yourself, that's tha place, however, it has to be a weekday. As you can understand weekends are never quiet in place like this Lido. We had pizza and arancine for lunch, there is a lot of choice. And the food was really tasty. Staff was all around checking on you. The menu app with the chance to order everything from your phone it's an absolute spot on!!! You just open a check, and then you can pay everything before you leave. Very well done to all the staff. I promise I was going to review this place, and I will definitely be back.

A private palace. The last owner didn't have any offspring so it was sold to the state. It is beautifully presented. Especially the ceiling paintings and decorations with 3D effects.

Walking around in the rooms one has the opportunity to see the "old" way of spending time, having guests, entertaining family and friends in the music room as well as enjoy the view from the balcony. The staff at reception were very helpful, handing out a colour brochure and map to guide you round, the main room was very impressive with the frescos on the ceiling and walls. Very cheap to visit €2 per person a day definitely worth a 15min visit.

Roman Mosaics were dusty and a bit dull but the explanation cards were excellent. View down valley to sea showed why location was in use for nearly 2000 years. €8 entrance fee in cash was steep for a few mosaics, but hopefully it went to the Archeological dig which is still going on.

A small site compared to Villa Casale but interesting mosaics all the same. Less popular so easy to get time to study them. A good location with nice views over the landscape.

I'm not sure why this villa doesn't get all 5 star reviews. The mosaics are exquisite, some of the best we've seen. There's only really 3 of them and the remains of the villa aren't really worth seeing, but you've come for the mosaics and wow!

It's a nice and hidden place on the way to San Lorenzo and Marzamemi, which hides beautiful Roman mosaics. I would suggest to stop by if you have time before going to the sea!

For me this was the best of the visits in Notto, not because of the inside but because of the views over Notto and down to the coast from the roof. We were also fortunate to ve on the roof at noon when the bells started ringing too. Staff friendly, very cheap to visit.

It's a working building, not a Palace. The hall of mirrors is a normal size room with a couple of large mirrors. So many better places to go in Noto- don't bother with this one.

Staff very friendly and helpful, there was a working meeting in the main chamber so only the hall of mirrors open. It's not expensive to visit either. Notto is beautiful, there are loads of wonderful sights, it's just really just not worth the bother visiting this too. There were 2 large mirrors in the hall of mirrors..it was almost Monty Python surreal....

Better the stunning architecture is enjoyed from the outside. The roof terrace provides some nice panoramic views otherwise not sure paying an extra admission fee was worth seeing “the mirror room”.

Give this a miss: €3 each to go onto the balcony of a building which is a public building anyway and experience an unexceptional view = rip off! The so-called 'hall of mirrors' which one guide described as like Versailles is in fact a large room with two big mirrors facing each other. Big deal.

Exceptional hotel located on the beginning of Noto’s main historical street. Steps away from the city’s architectural attractions, restaurants and shops, but still in a calm area. Our room was peaceful, quiet, clean and comfortable. The rooms appeared recently renovated and the air conditioning worked well. The hotel offered a complimentary welcome drink on the rooftop bar. The bartender, Salvo, was hospitable and friendly. He introduced us to some of the regions local products and drinks. The complimentary breakfast was also quite good, especially the ricotta filled croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice. Would 100% recommend for anyone staying in Noto.

Amazing 3-night stay at Hotel Porta Reale. We were a group of 4 in two different rooms. The staff was super friendly, professional and helpful. They welcomed us with all the info we needed, complimentary beach towels and umbrellas as well as a free drink on their rooftop bar. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with all the necessary amenities. We also used the parking/valet service 24/7 that was super important given the great central location of the hotel in the main street of Noto. Breakfast was also super good and with lots of options. Thanks to all the staff, including the ladies serving breakfast as well as Noemi and Francesco at the reception, for all the support.

Everything in our family room was of good quality and worked well from the shower to the shutters. Helpful staff and decent breakfast.

Very cute hotel in the ZTL of Noto right past the main entry gate. A bit challenging to understand the parking situation- you just drive to the hotel and the concierge will park for you in the off site garage. Rooms are well appointed and quiet. Breakfast is sufficient.

We stayed in the panoramic house. Not in the main hotel. At first was disappointed. But came to love the quiet location and spacious apartment with large patio and full kitchen. Staff was amazing and breakfast was delicious with hot and cold choices. Great coffee in room and at breakfast!! Very important for us. Another plus was the washer in the bathroom of our suite! The rooftop terrace was great at sunset for a cocktail overlooking the town of Noto. Highly recommend Porta Reale hotel for the accommodations, service and great location!

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Porta Reale in Noto, and I want to start by saying that it was one of our better experiences with a hotel in Sicily and not just! The hotel is located on the main pedestrian street, steps away from Porta Reale, hence the name. We booked an entire apartment which apparently was apart from the main building and somewhat hard to get to for people with accessibilty issues, like myself. We turned to the front desk which immediately agreed to change our room. The breakfast was excellent and rich. The hospitality in its entirety was more than perfect. Noto is beutiful and I would definitely recommend to visit Noto and stay at Hotel Porta Reale. Special thanks to Natalia, Neomi and Dario which went really out of their way to assist in every possible manner throughout our stay.

We booked the appartement for 2 adults with 1 bedroom at the hotel. When we contacted the hotel about accommodating our two year old as well, the communication with the front desk employer via chat/e-mail was very difficult. On the website and booking it wasn’t clear if the appartement had an extra room or not. When I called him to talk about our options (can she sleep on the sofa bed or something else) he somehow managed to lose his temper. He was rude and yelled at me. His solution was to not accommodate our daughter (as if we can leave her somewhere behind) or to cancel the reservation and pay the cancellation fees (€180). He then hung up on me. I wouldn’t suggest to book your stay here. The communication is really difficult and the front desk employer is rude. For a 4 star hotel you would expect a little extra but you are getting the worst service.

Beautiful and secluded beach, clear water. The parking, the entrance and the road leading to the entrance is a little bit messy but worth the trouble. The blue trail starts here, it is recommended to do it, but not in the most heated time of the day.

Beautiful and peaceful beach inside the Vendicari natural reserve. There are no bars, restaurants or umbrellas for rent, so you need to have everything with you. There are two parking lots outside the park and you pay a fee (3€) to enter the reserve.

Gorgeous place. Nearby is the naturist beach. To mention is the fact that you cannot cros to the naturist beach from Eloro because the river which was separating the beaches got really big. Now you have to go to Marianelli Beach Checkpoint to get there. Both places are just wonderful.

Great beach unspoilt. Plenty of sand and not too difficult to get to. There are no facilities here or bars cafes etc. Enjoy the tranquillity.

Romantic and a bit smelly. There is nothing but sand and sea. There are no tree no bar no ristorante no sungalsses and massage. I like it.

As part of the Natural Reserve, there is an entrance fee of 3,50€ per person and 7 € for family. There is a parking just outside for 3,50€. The beach was full of wooden sticks and it is forbidden to play with the ball or rackets. There is a nice long walk on the cliffs through which it's possible to reach the nudist beach after it in approximately 20 minutes, then Calamosche in one hour. The water was warm and it get deep soon.

Interesting little theatre in Noto. Originally built just for the aristocracy and later seating added for the plebs. Quite small, but I think five stories of boxes, very intimate theatre and a glimpse into another era.

I recently visited this beautiful place with my family, but unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the poor management of the establishment. While the location itself was stunning, the lack of hospitality and rude behavior of the staff left a sour taste in our mouths. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find no one at the reception to welcome us. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, a staff member finally arrived, but they were clearly disinterested in their role. Instead of providing a warm welcome or acknowledging our presence, they seemed annoyed and rushed. To our dismay, the situation quickly escalated when we entered the hall where a play was already in progress. Without any warning or explanation, the staff member arrived, 10 minutes late, and proceeded to rudely throw us out, slamming the door behind us. It was an embarrassing and uncomfortable experience, to say the least. What saddened us the most was the complete lack of kindness and communication from the staff. A simple apology for the inconvenience or an attempt to accommodate us in some way would have gone a long way. A beautiful baroque building. Right in front of the Fontana d'Ercole and the Chiesa di San Domenico on Piazza Sedici Maggio 1 and on Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Try definitely to join the guided tour inside. We weren't that lucky and it appears it was probably a Fomo.

Wonderful place, well worth a look. We would LOVE to watch a performance there. Would be 5 stars if you could have a look at the upper level boxes.
