We camped at the base of Mt. Rishirifuji. The camp site has a common area with wifi. The washrooms are clean and equipped with washlets and heated seats. The camp site however doesn't provide rental items. There are also wooden cabins for rent that come equipped with futon. There is enough parking space near the camping site.

I was very happy to have decided to make the trip to this island.

I have climbed this mountain two years in a row, and I definitely recommend it! The hike is a little bit hard, especially for beginners, but definitely do-able and worth the gorgeous views (I absolutely love the views of clouds from higher up on the mountain!!!). I recommend only climbing the mountain on days when it is not too wet, as a muddy trail is not fun or very safe to climb.
