The bridge itself is stunning. We have the chance to have visited this in the day but it is more stunning at night. Near this bridge is a bar which is great to unwind better to sit outside near the bridge so you can feel the fresh air and cool wind on this time of the year. The staff are friendly but the drink cost a little expensive for a pint.

One of the main attractions of Newcastle upon Tyne. Located at the centre of the city. The place is good for a handout with friends or family. Easy to access either via public transportation or by private vehicle.

You can't miss this bridge when walking the quayside, illuminated in the evening it makes for a stunning sight. Not only photogenic but also incredibly practical as it allows access to Gateshead from Newcastle and vice versa. The bridge also tilts to allow boats through which is an interesting watch. When walking across it at busy times you may notice a slight 'bounce' in the bridge, really strange feeling but I'm sure it's solid so nothing to worry about!

This is a lovely place to take pictures and especially at night. The scenery is mind blowing.....with a good camera of course

What a fabulous time spent their, one particular thing we feel good for the level of architecture which we developed in few decades of time....is amazing, as you can clearly see the no's Of bridges just ahead of it and each one tells its story. Can spend a whole day by just sticking on it

I had the most amazing time with my wife and friends at Gateshead Millennium Bridge in Newcastle. The memories we created here will be cherished forever. I love this bridge, walking at night/morning, sunset/sunrise, winter/summer. It’s such an icon for Newcastle. From the number of photos, you can tell how much I love it. Great design, welcomes everyone, runners, cyclists, walkers, children or walking your pet. It gives Newcastle a modern and stylish touch.

These are my actual photos from weekend of Feb 23. Beautiful Newcastle upon Tyne Quayside, amazing sky tonight with calm River Tyne. Such beautiful views. You will find the famous Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and Millenium Bridge. The Sage. This modern building has quite a unique design of huge glass windows, views from here are rather special out across the River Tyne and along The Quayside, designed inside for musical concerts and jazz bands, parties etc to emphasise acoustic sound. The Baltic Centre, the old Flour Mills, now has a restaurant/cafe bar namely, Six Baltic Restaurant and serving cocktails and fine dining food. Also the iconic Millenium Bridge, changing colours. A wonderful vibrant Quayside with many fabulous restaurants, Ginos, Tomahawk Steakhouse, Hardrock Cafe, plenty bars, coffee shops, hotels such as The Hilton, Malmaison and Leonardo Hotel, offers good food and lovely views of The Millenium Bridge. Sunday is Market day with good quality craft stalls, jewellery, leathers, clothes, gifts etc and food and drinks vans available all along the Quayside, it is definitely worth a look. Take a stroll on the Quayside .. there's a good path past the Staithes and in the other direction past the Pitcher and Piano, also a nice little walk. Theres always plenty going on and you won't be disappointed. Also, you can take a boat trip down the RiverTyne during warmer weather and take it all in. x

Lovely walk along the quay side.Different bridges, and lovely architecture and statues. Very impressed with visit to Newcastle .

It was a great experience to walk across this spectacular modern bridge linking Newcastle with Gateshead. There's a wheelchair accessible pedestrian walkway, a cycle track, metal seating and a fantastic view along the river towards the Tyne Bridge, with the Swing Bridge and the two-tiered High Level Bridge behind it. Some great photo opportunities. I didn't realise it when I was there, but this is the world's first tilting bridge. You can watch it tilt at noon every day between May and September - or you might be lucky enough to be there when it tilts to allow a ship to pass underneath. The quayside is also a pleasant (and level) place to stroll, with outdoor cafes, bars and restaurants.

Iconic bridge over the River Tyne in Newcastle, best enjoyed at night, where its striking display of colour outlining its shape is best seen. It owns a world first achievement in that it's the only tilting bridge, to provide navigational clearance for larger craft. It carries a pedestrian footway as well as a cycleway, enabling both groups to travel between the Newcastle Quayside and the opposite Gateshead Quayside. Here you can find two iconic buildings to visit and enjoy - the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and the Glasshouse International Centre for Music. Take the lift to the top of the BALTIC building for great views of the city.

Sometimes you just go somewhere at the right time of day. What a beautiful bridge and the stunning sunset provided a great photo.

Definitely worth a wander across, it is an outstanding piece of modern engineering, connecting Gateshead and Newcastle with a stunning design and revolutionary tilting mechanism. The views of the River Tyne and the surrounding areas are breathtaking and the bridge is a fantastic way to soak in the vibrant atmosphere, particularly during events happening nearby. I highly recommend taking a stroll across this architectural wonder as it is truly a must-visit if you're in the area.

It's an iconic sculpture that we just had to see on our visit to Newcastle... Can be easily accessed by road... Plenty of parking spaces available but I have read it can be quite busy some days... I'm guessing weekends... We visited on a Monday it was quiet... The statute is set on a mound within a picnic area... So enjoy... just simply take a couple snapshots and leave or sit and enjoy the view with a coffee and a Sandwich...

A definite go to if you are in the North East, and imposing structure that has a real element of peace and tranquility. Free parking which is a bonus. There are some pathways but to take the best photos you need to walk more on the grassy banks, these were very muddy in places. Not a large number of people there but those that were cordial and allowed people the necessary time to get family pics without having strangers in the background.

I was more impressed than I thought I would be. I put the drone up and I may have got this wrong but I’m sure I saw a face behind the metal work? Could be my my mind anyway it was worth stopping for and it was very impressive when you stand at the bottom of it so I’d recommend anybody to actually not just drive past on the A1. Just stop and go to the car park and have a wander it’s lovely.

A Great Spot to Unwind While Travelling on A1. I was really impressed the hard solid work which has gone into it. I stayed around and could see people coming and going in large and small groups. Free car parking literally a minute away from the statue is plus plus. Families sitting on the grass around the statue made it even more desirable for people with kids around for some time out.

Very tall statue. A symbol of pride and endurance. A must see if you go to Newcastle. Awesome in every way, and a feeling of magic when you stand by it. You'll come away with a smile on your face. I promise.

We picked a great time to see The Angel, there were only a couple of people there when we arrived. It is a magnificent piece of sculpture & it is well worth stopping by. There is easy parking & paths to walk around it. Would recommend.

Well worth the visit with an easy accessible car park right next to it. Most people drive by and don’t actually get up close but it’s definitely worth the extra few minutes to really get a good Idea and feel of what it’s all really about.

Beutiful memorial. Could be done with some more more atmosphere like music, souvenirs shop or local information. Parking is Free but If You coming from Newcastle You can easy use 21 bus is running every 10 min 😉

Great to visit on our the way up North. Our 6 year old loved getting out and stretching his legs. Would have been great if it had a toilet, so we had to go to a nearby Sainsbury's :)

The Angel of the North is a 208 tonne steel sculpture that is 20 metres high and 54 metres wide. You can see the sculpture from the A1 dual carriageway. Obviously, it's not easy to get a good look at the sculpture when driving or take any photographs, so it's best to head for the free nearby carpark located off the A167 (Durham Road) just like I did. Look for the gap in the bus lane to access the car park. I arrived at 5.15pm in September so the sun was quite low. This provided some nice lighting effects for my photos! When seeing someone standing at the base of the sculpture you can really appreciate the size of it! It's well worth a trip if passing or visiting the area.

My friends and I went here on a sunny weekend in summer. We took the bus from the mall to get here. Not a lot of people go here usually, since it’s an hour out from the city but that day is such a perfect day there was tourists and groups of people coming and going the whole time we were there. It was lively! Across the road from the sculpture, there is a field. Definitely not accessible but if you get up there in summer there are a lot of daisies! It has a really nice trail up the hill and bonus: you can still see the Angel of the North. If you’re bored with the same vantage point of the sculpture, you can try going there.

Quick stop here before exploring a bit of Newcastle. It's a bizarrely small park, surrounded by quite busy roads and building work, however the visit still exceeded expectations! It's really impressive - absolutely massive, amazingly engineered, and just a really cool thing to stop and see! Well worth it. Free parking. Not loads, but we went on a Sunday and there was more than enough space.

Wasn't sure what to expect. I got there and right out front is a free car park with a mobile cafe to get a drink of food from. Had a walk around saw the shrine in the tree's at the bottom of the dip for people who wish to leave a token for a loved one. Spent around 15min there and carried on up north. Definitely recommend this as a stop. Carl

Before the bus lanes came the Angel of North was my home marker leaving and returning. Now I'm lucky if a fleeting glimpse so decided to visit. It's a very peaceful place. Didn't stay long as had children who got bored quickly as they weren't allowed to climb up 🤣 I can understand why people are now putting memorials on trees in surrounding area.

Really good to be able to stop, park and look at this rather than see it when driving past. Parking is free (+). Paths round it so of it's rainy or muddy you're still okay. Impressive close up but better take pictures from a distance cos it's big. Did like it but we had been spoiled by the Kelpies in Scotland earlier that day

Fantastic location to enjoy the view of the immensely built Angel of the North. Good spot for walking as well as taking a break with snacks or brew! The cost was £800,000 to build in 1997 and has three purposes; 1. Reminder for the Coal worker over 200 years 2. For hope and fears 3. Find out by visiting the place :)

One of the most recognisable sculptures in the UK. When driving into the north you must stop here to see it. There is a decent amount of parking and a nice path towards it, you will need to walk off-road to get in front of it to get a photograph.

It's a big impressive structure, something you can't help but see if you on the A1 traveling, or on the train. Is it worth going to see??. Only if you really really want to see it and want a selfie. Apart from the structure, there's nothing else, to see or do. maybe a ice-cream van!.

Beautiful.. worth the visit. Even more impressive in real life. Easy parking, easy walk - and there was even an ice cream van in the car park when we visited - in October!

Anthony Gormley's 20 metre high Angel. She represents the Industrial past and information technology future. The sculpture marks the location of a mine near Gateshead where miners laboured for over 200 years. It's free to visit and there's usually a coffee van and an ice-cream van...no toilets. The site is very close to the built up part of Gateshead although it looks remote, it stands proud just outside Newcastle on the main A1 road. It's estimated that around 33 million people see her every year as they drive past.

It's really easy to get to. There's tarmac path from the car park to the angel. There's nothing else really there and it's right next to a busy road. Good to stop for 5 minutes if you're passing but I wouldn't travel for this. I'd say that Green Man of Buckshaw is a better sculpture

The engineering and art involved is just mind blowing. We enjoyed ourselves. We even took time to stroll around the park. There two food trucks-ice cream and good snacks

It's a nice place to visit if you like modern-day monuments. The scale is impressive and has an almost spiritual feel to it. There were quite a few people there taking photos when I visited. The car park is a few steps away. Free to visit atm

Imposed architecture on the outskirts of Newcastle (Gatehead). The sunset views are beautiful. There tends to be parking most days and is free. There are a couple of charging points for electric car users as well. Nice greenery where you can even have a picnic depending on the time of the year

Great to be able to see such an amazing sculpture up close so easily. Easy to get to from the motorway and parking right next to it. There is a path to and around it. It’s free to visit.

When we were young I thought this was like up a huge hill and far away but it’s just off the motorway which is kind of wild. It’s quite cool to see it up close. There is a coffee stand which must rake it in but no toilets. There’s also a memorial garden people have made for those they have lost.

A great venue to visit, architecturally, acoustically and aesthetically. A real icon of a modern building with great views of the River Tyne and the Newcastle skyline. The concert halls are very comfortable and it's a real pleasure to attend a concert or event here. So why only four stars? On this visit the toilets were certainly below expectation, quite smelly and what can be said about the staff at the coffee bar? Not a please, thank you or smile and so slow!! They really did let the venue down and especially when other staff are so friendly and helpful. The show we went to see, "In the name of love - Diana Ross" was really enjoyable!

Very beautiful venue. Attended today for a graduation ceremony, and I was really impressed with the building. It's beautiful inside. Parking was a little bit of an issue, but I was helped by a lovely, friendly gentleman who directed me and provided me with a ticket due to having my disabled daughter with me and exchanged it for a free pass. The car park did say it was full however it wasn't- that's why I am not awarding 5 stars. The staff inside the venue were lovely and helpful too. No complaints. Toilets were lovely and clean. Lots of disabled access, too.

This was my first time in the Sage and enjoyed my experience very much. An amazing place to go. Located right on the bank of the Tyne. it’s a building that can be seen for many miles, in between the Millennium Bridge and the Tyne Bridge. It’s unique shape and architecture is a sight to behold. Such a great place to visit and we’ve been lucky enough to view a concert here. It holds a huge concert hall. There is a cafe, little shops. The staff here are really friendly and kind. You can take a seat and have a drink on any level and have a bite to eat before you enter the seating area to watch a show on the stage

Beautiful building in the heart of the city! Amazing views of the river and bridges, especially when it’s dark outside and all the lights come on. Cute cafe inside, and some little nick nacks available to purchase. Not far from the metro, and accessible by bus

This is our 2nd visit. Last night's visit was to see ABC. It was fantastic. The venue is small & clean and the staff are very friendly & helpful. Seating is comfortable unlike utilita and you get a good view in seating that isn't in the stalls (not sat there so can't comment). Nice views of the river. Would not hesitate visiting this venue again.

Superb concert hall and music venue for a wide range of genres and styles. Home to the Royal Northern Sinfonia orchestra and choir. Full programme of classical and popular music. Beautifully designed building with excellent acoustics. Cafe in central atrium and bars on all floors. Hosts smaller events in Hall 2 as well as community programmes and teaching throughout the week. Highly recommended for live music and entertainment.

Went to see Post Modern Jukebox. First time at the venue and it was really good. Lovely views over the river and bridges. The show was great. We were worried it might be too loud sitting in the second row but it was fine. Food is available although we didn't eat here, and bars dotted about for drinks.

An absolutely amazing live music venue. The acoustics here are brilliant and all the live music I have been to here has sounded superb. I have seen multiple orchastras here playing, John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Final Fantasy music and it has blown me away every time. I also saw Tokiyo Myers here live and was equally impressed with the acoustic as well as the lighting show they put on. The venue has amazing views across the river Tyne and the brilliant architectural design makes it a highlight of the skyline.

Go west and wet wet wet. Great view, and amazing venue. Only complaint was when advertised and booked it did not state that the main member of the band, Martin Pellow, would not be singing. The actual singer was great mind, just went to see to original group members. So a little disappointed.

First visit here to a concert (Billy Bragg, and definitely 5 star performance). It took a bit of finding as the car satnav struggled to locate it, and very poor road signage to assist motorists. Good parking when got there. Booked dinner beforehand and a very pleasant restaurant with good choice of wines and beers etc. Limited food choice but burgers proved a winner. Would use this facility again.

Kenny Thomas was absolutely fantastic. Bar staff were shockingly poor! Waited 15 minutes to be served as they were serving people who arrived after me and other customers!

I love this place. I've yet to be disappointed with a show, the amenities or staff. Not sure about the new name... Music, Mc Musicface would have been just as good. Great views to take in during intervals whilst enjoying some refreshments. They run lots of good courses and events through the daytimes too: my father in law attends a choir there for aphasia sufferers once a week and gets a great deal of enjoyment from it. The photo I've added is the view as we left recently, on the far side.

Beautiful modern glass events building on the bank of the Tyne river. Popularly known as Sage.

Great venue, was here recently to see Meatloaf tribute and the Neverland Express. Comfortable seating, great views of the city, and bridges. Helpful staff, and bars on every landing. Toilets clean too.....always a bonus.

Nice views from the viewing deck. Some nice art, but some odd art. Each to their own as they say. But it's free so what have you got to lose. Stopped for food at the cafe on the first floor, sat outside on the deck nice views, fast service. sandwiches were OK but nothing special. Overpriced at 8.50 and £3 for a tea.

Absolutely lovely art and lovely staff members telling me information on the art. Great time.

My favourite section was the gift shop, I would visit again just for it, slight on the pricier side though. Exhibitions are okay at the moment but my favourite is this sculpture of a flower and it was nice to just look at for a while. Loved the big spaces upstairs and how much potential they have.

Really love the experience of the Baltic. You never know what you're going to get as you go onto each floor. The views of Newcastle from the top are amazing and gorgeous! Especially on a nice clear day. The exhibitions can sometimes be hit or miss. But overall sat in the little cafe downstairs the staff were brilliant and friendly and even free tea and coffee. Always a bonus. Not so much if you don't drink tea or coffee but, that's just me!

A very nice place, not too busy and friendly with some, interesting exhibitions e.g. 'Living garden' and Black and White photos documenting the history of black coal town. Fantastic view over the Millenium Bridge, the Tyne River and all 6 Bridges. The opening of The Millenium Bridge at 12.00 a.m. every day simply stunning. Very friendly staff. A possibility to purchase some nice works of modern artists. Definitely one of must sees in Newcastle.

Love the art and the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere here. I come here regularly whenever they have new pieces to admire. I added some of the photos I took from last week’s visit. The view balcony is amazing, you can the beautiful view of the Sage and the Millennium Bridge.

We very much enjoyed our visit to the Baltic Centre this afternoon. We had an excellent lunch and really appreciated the marvellous views of Newcastle from the quayside. The exhibitions were very interesting too. The gift shop has unusual, quirky items and books. Very tempting to spend a bit of money in there. (I added to my book collection.) There is a free drinks cafe on the ground floor and an outside play area for toddlers. (You can sit and have your tea or coffee there and watch the world go by on the quayside.)

Lovely that the exhibitions are free - the current collection was a little boring but, I guess that changes on who is exhibiting at the time. Would be great to house more famous artists. The building is fantastic, with great views of Newcastle. And because it’s free, makes a great trip. Although managed to see everything (top to bottom) in 35mins. Also - the shop at the end is brilliant, and has great books, prints, ceramics and collectibles. Worth a visit.

A real cultural gem in Newcastle. The entrance is for free. When we visited there were very interesting exhibitions on each floor. From the terrace you have a stunning view of the city. Each floor is accessible by anyone as they are served by lifts.

I’ve never thought myself an arty person, but the museum got me stay for hours. The viewing box is absolutely a must visit. The lookout is just breathtaking, especially after visiting Laing Art Gallery. Baltic is also educational. There are library and lounge for parents to take their children to explore art, creativity and sensations. The terrace on level 4 is a gem! The bird view of the river and the bank on a semi-outdoor environment, it made me humble. The lifts and the stairs are parts of the exhibition, so take the lifts and walk up and down the stairs. Finding out and immersing in the art pieces yourselves. The outdoor permanent infrastructure art piece is a light art, which was not performing at the time I visited. I’d love to come back for it. The art on level 4 from Hew Locke is worth spending hours. It is so very thought provoking and challenging my value about the world on all sort of topics. It was a bit too punchy, which made me feel stomach turning. A piece that is worth visiting again and again.

I have been to this place many times. It’s free of charge. There are exhibit changes seasonally. The first floor has an art/bookshop which sells a lot of niche or pop art. The first floor sometimes has an art exhibit, and other times has a photography exhibit. The second and third floors are very small and usually very average. The fourth floor usually is the best, they either have a personal artist exhibit or a theme-oriented exhibit. The fifth floor is the view box for the fourth floor. Not worth going unless you want to see the exhibit from a higher point of view. The top floor has a balcony where you can see seagulls. Strongly suggest checking the exhibit before you go, in case you don’t like it and get disappointed. Overall it is the best modern art gallery in the Northeast. Still recommended it.

The conversion into a museum made this old industrial building a beautifully maintained structure. At night also nicely illuminated, together with next door Millennium Bridge.

This was a fascinating art museum to visit, beginning with a highly creative project on the first floor! The paintings show different meanings and form settings magnificently, gaming room is retro where some can even be played. Higher up focuses on nature, showcasing beautiful plants and using them to replicate scenery including a viaduct!

I was pleased by the fact that it is free to see excellent exhibitions and enjoy stunning views of the river, bridges, and city. If you want to spare your legs, take the lifts and begin at the top of the building before working your way down. Great location. Excellent staff, who was helpful and polite. You can make a donation of your choice to help keep this site functioning. Highly recommend a visit.

Nice place to see different types of art instalations and also great to go with kids as they have multiple areas for kids to play in. Though when it's busy, the kids area is very hectic.

What a lovely park this is. Very scenic with lots of nice areas like a lake and play areas and a rose garden and the building itself is beautiful. The public toilets near the play area were terrible and in need of an urgent overhaul. The car park is small and a long distance from the play areas but other than that it was well worth going for the day.

Very nice park, beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of of space to walk around, there is a lake with ducs and geese.

What a treat. A little drizzly but it all added to the fabulous colours. The grass came over that amazing green that makes the park so stunning in that moment in time. We went into the tea room and enjoyed coffee and a panini each. I Shared a fabulous window table with my brother. What more can i ask. Update. I had a few hours there with my dog yesterday. We had a great time. Always a pleasure. I have added more pictures.

Absolutely excellent. Free car park that's tarmacked and decent amount of space, large paths good for space and pushchairs, lovely lake, large play areas catering to all ages, and a cute little maze for the kids. We will be back again for sure. There was a doughnut truck making fresh doughnuts that were 4 for £4 (took card), a train ride round the lake was £2.50 per person (took card), and seed bags for the birds £0.50 (cash only). There were model boat enthusiasts there with a few cool model boats whizzing on the water. Plenty of walks through the area and a cafe. Lots of (grey but still cute) squirrels too!

This is a lovely large park in Low Fell, it contains a large pond / lake, a land train, a cafe, a playground (area for small ones and another area for large kids), bird area and little gardens. Our trip to the park also gave us a mixture of weather, the trees gave us a bit of shelter! The kids loved running about and we also tried out the cafe. It was a lovely place to visit, although I would steer clear of the toilets unless you really need to go!

Love this park. Free parking, large area lovely well kept gardens, grassland. Two cafes, both really nice, the indoor one accommodates well behaved dogs. The whole place is perfect for dogs, you're meant to keep them on leads but There are many people who don't do that. There's a specific area for dogs off leads. There's huge play areas for kids. Toilets not far away, ice cream van just next to the pond. That used to have pedal boats on but they weren't there today, don't know if it closed. Great place. Look at the photos on a rainy day

Great Park, lots of space for all ages, lake, walks, childrens play parks, maze, animals, cafe and free parking.

A beautiful and serene environment for a peaceful or playful time however you want it. There are kids' play areas, a big lake and lovely canopies for walks.

Lovely spacious park, well looked after, toilets on-site, plenty of place for the children to run around. They do have a small train that drives you around the park-for a small fee! They even have a mini Tyne Bridge!

Beautiful park filled with squirells. 3 clean play areas for the kids, wonderful trees flowers lots to see. Sculptures and history as you walk around the park. Tower and gardens are well kept and the animals at the little zoo

Saltwell Park is a good place to hang out if you like to have a picnic or walk your dog. There is a sports area with basketball and volleyball courts. The major attraction is the lake. It serves as a home to several aquatic birds. Loads of lush grass around the area. Nice place to visit.

Visited Saltwell Park for the first time last week as I was in the area visiting my in-laws. What a beautiful, expansive, lush and verdant feast for the eyes! Everywhere you look, there are old trees, beautifully manicured gardens and walkways, and very happy dogs with their humans! So nice to see. My only (very slightly) negative note would be about the café. The carrot cake was fantastic, don’t get me wrong, but the tea was overfilled and I burnt my hand. Anyway, that is just something that should be considered, especially for more vulnerable or elderly folk. My actual complaint is about the wait time to even order. There were two people in front of us and it took 15 minutes. How?! The fancy coffees being ordered take forever to make, especially since there was only one person manning the counter. I think an extra person would have helped to take the pressure off the only member of staff there. Other than that, no complaints at all. We had a lovely time and seeing the squirrels, mice and cute ducklings made me really happy. I only wish your maze were tall enough for adults to enjoy! Ha!

Really clean and tidy park a few different path routes to follow, cafe and rest room really nice and friendly staff, breakfast and main meal options. The park itself has a maze a petting zoo peacocks, parrots, guinea pigs. More than 1 play park for younger children and up to teens, really large lake with swans and ducks with lots of areas green areas for picnics and plenty of seating . Really nice woodland areas to walk through lots of squirrels were spotted. The park is dog friendly and has free parking.

Went there for the first time today,..its not the best park in the uk but its extremely nice,. As you can see from my pics it was pretty empty for a baking monday afternoon..it was very clean & plenty of benches & shaded areas to sit under away from the heat..The cafe was busy from what i saw. Theres also a few caged birds and guinea-pigs to look at..Thomas the tank engine takes the kids twice around the pond for £2.50,. The ice cream van mancsn retire after this summer with the prices he charges.. also a large area with a few swings & climbing frames...

Lovely for a walk, lovelier still if you’re a national trust member and don’t have to pay a one-off admission charge. We’ve visited on numerous occasions (living close by), it never fails to disappoint, as the seasons change, so do the walks. The planned events are worth keeping an eye out for if such events are your thing, these are always done with aplomb, especially around Christmas time. There is ample parking, and the cafe is as you’d expect when visiting the National trust. If you like walks with views, you’ll enjoy Gibside.

Lovely place for a walk with extensive grounds. Perfect place for families and couples or even for exploring alone! Plenty to do and look at, would definitely recommend

Amazing Christmas lights experience at Gibside. Been on the day time for many times but this is the first time in the dark. Myself and daughter enjoyed every light. It took an hour for the walk. Wrap up warm, it is very cold. Will visit again next year.

March 2024 Update We had a great time today. The Easter fun has already begun at Gibside. Easter trail costs £3 and is fin to do ...and Easter nets at the cafe were a great treat after a 2h walk. We will try pizza next time! ___________ Place for some lovely walks, tranquility, picnic and fun with kids. There is a lovely cafe with some great cake choices ...lemon cake is amazing! Few playgrounds for kids and plenty to do for a day out. A regular visit from us every few weeks.

As a disabled person the loan of the buggy made it possible for me to enjoy the day out with my family. I can’t wait for the Spring and Summer for a return visit.

Brilliant place, me and the misses go all the time with the pup. The misses uses a wheelchair, so she utilises the trampers available to hire for free. Don't forget to stop at the cafe in the Stables. Nice coffee, friendly atmosphere.

Long established NT property. Quite popular even mid-week. Lots of paths to enjoy. Many bird species, and we saw some small deer only metres away - a nice surprise. A lovely homely coffee shop/cafe to wind down after a few hours of walking. Picnic areas if you're planning to stay longer. Definitely going back soon.

A brilliant place to visit. Lots of walks (some steep) with a great map to follow 4 routes. The cafe was busy but organised and our food was delicious and served quickly. You could easily spend a full day here. There was lots organised for children as it was the summer holidays.

We've been here a couple of times now and there is still so much to explore. Great for with little ones although there is a bit of distance between some play areas, so if your little ones get tired or don't like walking, take a carrier. It is well kept with arranged events and walks. We went to the Easter trail and it was fab. The stables area is lovely and had little businesses running from it. We also loved the wild trail in the trees

Good place to spend a weekend visiting. Free and plentiful parking as well as a lot of places to eat. I do think though that it would be a lot better if there were more places to sit down and rest, particularly places where there are free tables to sit and eat at as there used to be some a good 15-20 years back when Metroland was still there. Some other parts of the mall have a lot of vacant shops which does give a bit of an eye sore, but otherwise a good place for finding places to eat and do shopping.

Had 2 hrs bowling 🎳 on Friday 1st March and I won 🏆 6games and dave lost 6 games lol 😆 😅 going back soon as enjoyed whooping his backside lol 😆 😄 😀 👍.

I've been wanting to visit the Metricentre for a while now and as me and mum have been visiting family I took the opportunity to have a quick visit, a quick visit that ended up being 4 hours long. I was really impressed by the sheer size and shops available, and the place didn't feel busy or crowded either. We went into quite a few clothes shops and had a coffee at one of the Starbucks there. I'm glad I didn't have much to spend else I could've come away with a hole in my pocket. The design of the interior was really nice in some areas, and the whole place felt really clean. I did find that the mobility shop was quite far away from where we had parked, which had we done some research before we would've parked elsewhere, but I do think they could have a couple more mobility shops around, and definitely one of the ground floor rather than the top floor. We did have a good time none the less and will definitely come back when we're next up in Newcastle.

Nice big shopping centre. Plenty of shops, easy to spend the whole day there. Some areas are emptier due to shops closing down, but you'll definitely find what you need there.

I visited the MetroCentre while on holiday in the area, mainly just to see what it was like as it is listed as the UKs BIGGEST shopping centre. As soon as I arrived I parked easy as there were plenty of spaces. Parking FREE is a bonus too as it means I can explore shops for as long as I want without worrying about carpark fee's clocking up. This benefits both the visitor and the retailer's. It was good to see the use of some solar panel car ports in the carpark too! When I entered the shopping centre it looked just like any other UK shopping centre, but it wasn't very busy like many are. I was glad to see that the MetroCentre had provided proper paper maps to show the location of the shops toilets and other facilities, it was very considerate of them and the map came in handy. As for the shops, there was a good range of shops as expected, plus a Namco Fun Scape entertainment centre and climbing activity centre, which are handy if you get bored of shopping! Outside the Shopping centre were even more retail units, they were a bit of a walk away though. Considering the size of the MetroCentre I was very surprised not to see a big "central" food hall. There are plenty of food outlets scattered about, but they are not all grouped together like in some shopping centres I have visited, like Merry Hill Shopping Centre in the Midlands, which is operated by intu. In Merry Hill there is one big hall with about 20 different food outlets around its edge selling every type of food, from Fish & Chips to Chinese. Although the MetroCentre is listed as the largest shopping centre in the UK, some parts of it are like a ghost town! Absolutely full of empty unused retail units. For the FREE parking alone, the MetroCentre is well worth a visit to do your shopping though, so I totally recommend it.

It's big as fuk! Love the experience. The Hunger games movie (Song of Ballars and mockingbird) was not very cinema worthy though. Ladies choices in movies is quite tragic 🤷🏾‍♂️

It’s been around about 4 years since we were last here and it seems that these big Mall type places like in the USA are on the slide, there’s still plenty of stores to visit but they are all selling the same or similar items and that’s the issue I have, there is sadly a lack of different/ original stores to look at and there’s also a lot of large empty buildings advertising coming soon or our other closest store is here throughout the different wings, not sure I would visit again to be honest, nothing you cannot get right on your own doorstep to be honest and the only reason for our visit this time was to visit the Genius Bar at the apple store. Hey ho!

It's so huge and divided into two levels and four zones; green, red, yellow and blue. Upper level and lower level. You must have a guide map inorder go find a place. It has Arcade on yellow zone next to the entrance. There is a Fataush restaurant inside and its a good option for those looking for Halal food. There is a £land shop for Poundland shopper. If you love frozen yoghurt you will find it here. You need a full whole day to go around to see each and every shop. But still a day wouldn't be enough. It has a free whole day carpark for customers which is great. The customer service (Help desk) is on upper level in the middle of the mall. They have lifts and escalators on a walking distance. It has step free access for wheelchair users to shop around.

2nd Biggest more like 2nd worst! I have attached photos of the much more incredible character filled Trafford Centre in Manchester instead. My friend and I went to Trafford and we were jaw dropped at the amount of amazing character the mall had. Everything from a mini China town to an gigantic food court. Marble floors, Egypt style Pizza Hut, a huge arcade centre and cinema. Trafford is also very easy to get around too and you know which part of the mall you’d in as every part has something unique and different. Meanwhile Metro Centre is completely lifeless! I have seen Aldi shops with more character than Metro Centre. There is no character, the mall is bland, boring and nothing to check out and nothing that amazed us. It’s just a giant empty square shell of a building. Lots of empty stores and there was a lot of children causing trouble for security littering all over the mall and not obeying security guards either. If you want to go to a big busy and exciting huge mall I recommend Trafford! It’s much better than this soulless building

I strongly suggest watching a movie at ODEON and being in the arcade. If you're visiting Newcastle you shouldn't miss out on that ^ but it's worth a visit too if you like shopping or just looking around stores. Especially during the holidays or events to see more decorations.

A very nice shopping mall, has variety of stores, so many options and cafés/restaurants all around. I've had a good shopping and a nice walk over there 🛒🛍️

If you ever In Newcastle or Passing by, Metrocentre is a place to be for shopping, games, food and lots of fun. Plus free parking.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting an incredible shopping mall located in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This massive shopping center is truly amazing and consists of four malls combined into one convenient location. Each mall is color-coded with Yellow, Red, Green, and Blue. I parked at the Yellow Mall, where parking is free and there is no limit on the duration of your stay. The play area for children is absolutely beautiful and exciting, featuring wall climbing and other activities. There are unlimited options for dining, so you'll never have to worry about where to eat. Although I didn't see any Indian food options, they have a Turkish delight stall and definitely some Chinese options. You can also find a PRIMARK store here for those who love to shop there. The mall even has a free indoor maze that was set up during the Easter holidays for Easter egg hunting. The mall boasts an unbelievably large number of branded shops, and I was particularly impressed with the Guess store. For added fun for the kids, there's even a Train on Wheels that goes around the entire mall. There is a security team all over the place, so there are no issues with safety or security. The mall provides clear and readable directions, and each mall area has a help desk for extra customer care. To fully experience everything this mall has to offer, you'll need at least 4-5 hours. I loved every minute of my time here, and I definitely recommend a visit to anyone looking for a fantastic shopping experience.

Love this place there is so much to do. The kids enjoyed the arcade area and the slushie shop where u fill your own cups with as many flavours and add fresh ice cream on top! It's the best thing ever. This place also has an indoor play area, cinema and bowling. Lots of food places. Rock climbing and shopping. Lots of parking available. Definately worth a visit

Abundance of shops, clean and tidy to roam around..plenty to do tonspend the full day here.

Great place for steam railway enthusiasts, on what bills itself as the world's oldest railway! The train and original passengers carriages do short runs along the line on weekend all year, plus school half terms and summer holidays and special events - definitely worth pre-booking at peak times. There's a railway depot/shed you can visit, and the all-original station has a cafe and small gift shop. It's all volunteer-run so if you're passing, why not at least stop for tea and cake to help with some small funds?

What a great little afternoon out on the North Pole Express! So grateful we could get booked for our first trip. The experience was seamlessly organised by such friendly and patient volunteers. We will definitely be back next year (hopefully if we can get booked as it’s so popular and it’s not hard to see why!) Thanks to the wonderful volunteers who work so hard to keep this great place up and running.

Great place to visit for a glance back through the history of steam locomotives. There's lots of nice touches, as they've tried to keep as much history as possible, including the buildings, and interiors. Well worth a visit.

Great day out, family of 2 oldies, 4 adults and 2 children. Timings for the trains are not exact meaning we missed one after our lunch stop which was a shame, but the day ticket that allows unlimited travel for the day was a great option. No one checked the tickets as far as we could tell! Might look into the afternoon tea option as that's a nice thing that's a little different. 🙂

We were in the area for another event this past weekend, being railway enthusiasts we searched for a nearby heritage railway and found the Tanfield railway, what a lovely little railway, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the men on the footplate welcomed my son to look at the engine which he loved. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We had a lovely little train ride. This is the oldest railway in the world. We have a wheelchair so we had to ride in the guard's van... Which is fun. Watch out for uneven cobblestones in front of the disabled toilets at Andrews station!

Fabulous volunteers and beautiful clean station. I would highly recommend keeping a lookout for events they run throughout of the year. They is something here for all ages and it’s a lovely little environment. I can’t wait to return

There were people there cleaning the trains and apparently they do some Christmas stuff like a Polar Express. It was a chill vibe and quite a nice place to have a wee walk around which I enjoyed doing.

We really enjoyed our afternoon out at Tanfield. Dad especially did as he grew up near Neville Hill sheds in Leeds during the glory days of steam. The staff all looked very smart and were very pleasant. The ride itself takes in some lovely vistas. Also, the ladies in the cafe were lovely.

Great trip out went New Year’s Eve took our sons dog the trip from east tanfield to andrew’s house our mince pie drink stop looked around the place then caught next trip up to the end at Marley hill and returned back to east tanfield

Had a fantastic day at the Gala day. So many engines running, behind the scene tours and lovely home made food in the cafes. The behind the scenes tour was an all area access and guided by two very knowledgeable volunteers.

Great family farm with lots of interesting animals - especially good considering it's free entry (donations appreciated) the animal food is cheap too consider free entry. Parking on site is limited but there are plenty of other places nearby to park. Would recommend and will be going back!

I took a visit to Bill Quay farm with my friends and it was a really fun day out! For £2 an adult, we got to interact with their small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas). There was animal feed for sale at £1 a bag, we fed the Alpacas, Pigs and Goats. The cafe is open Mon - Sun, 10am - 4pm and the food was really good, I'd definitely recommend the brownies.

Been visiting all my life but it looked very neglected earlier this week. Surprised to see a big pile of rubble with a picnic bench balanced on top in the public area and a very sick looking rabbit in one of the pens. It all needs a good tidy up. .

My little girl liked it here and loved the goats. It has loads of nice pictures of the animals and lots of rabbits. Could do with more signs directing you where to go to see what and maybe a staff member around to answer questions. It's free and you can by food to feed the animals for 1.50 so you can't go wrong there. Parking is a nightmare. Cafe there is cramped and the waitress was rude and unhelpful but I can't fault the cake which was delicious. Walked down the wooded area path and got stung by something so please be careful. Still worth going and feeding the animals is good fun. 7/10 pumpkins

Took my 2 year old niece here. She loved feeding the animals and the colourful artwork, especially the beautiful gruffalo mural. The food at the café was tasty and well priced. All the people working there were friendly and helpful.

This is a lovely little place to take your little ones, my granddaughter particularly loves the baby piglets, was a shame they didn't have them out last time we visited as they were under staffed that day, you can buy pig feed on site and feed the pigs,we took our own carrots to feed the horses, their pigs are so friendly tails wagging straight over for food (be very careful of hands with pigs, we threw the food down for them as they have extremely strong teeth) there is a cafe onside that does wonderful food! This can get busy but they sharp have it under control, toilets there also .. lovely little place for a day out

I love bill quay farm. See pigs, goats, chickens, sheep, geese, ducks, alpacas and other small animals. Great place to take kids. Coffee shop on site and a gruffalo trail. Some nice walks nearby to river. Sometimes can buy animal food. I like to leave a little donation in the box for animals.

Animals and students are treat with no respect. Shocking that the staff have very minimal knowledge and training around both working with autistic young adults and animal care and husbandry. Shocking! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Great project. Had a family allotment on the site when I was a kid and great to see the great changes to the site. Sorry I left it 50 years to return to the place. Loved the Mangolista pigs. So hands on. Please support this great project.

Great place to go for kids and I as an adult enjoyed stroking the pigs and goats the llamas was having none of it.

It is a great place to be in nature. It was great to take my bike and stop for lunch. Lots of space to get back aquinted with pedal power. Lots of walkers, cyclists, children, and dogs making the most of the good weather today.

The Serengeti of West Gateshead an abundance of birds and ducks and I'm sure 🐘 roam these parts judging by the size of some of the dung left on the trails, the aroma Which hits both barrels is an assault on the nasal passage but all in all lovely to walk around the lake and woods

This park is gorgeous, it has places for everyone. At the front of the park where the main lake is there is many beautiful well kept paths allowing large families and people with accessibility needs such as wheelchairs or mobility scooters to easily get around. For more explorative people there is a fabulous are toward the back where there are dirt paths going alongside a small but picturesque river with small bridges going over. The back however is not accessible for everyone. I would recommend this park for everyone! Pictures presented are of the back.

A Tranquil Escape in the Heart of Newcastle. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Watergate Park in Newcastle, and I must say it was an absolute delight! Lovely walk here around the lake and through the farm. Great scenery from up high. I walked for 4 miles so you can get a canny walk. There is a coffee shop and any amount of free parking.

A surprise park, you wouldn't really expect to find so close to the A1. Nice and spacious for a stretch of the legs. Well maintained. Massive car park, nice place for a picnic, a spot of wildlife, and some sculptures along the way. Plenty of woodland, and stream to explore. A few different routes to find.

Well present park so many place to discover like waterfall, ruins and sculpture along you walk. Great if you like long work and go to new place like Whickham, Sunniside. Shame there is not path from Beggars Wood Park to connect with 😞

Really nice walk Paths are all level and dry nice lake which has a wheelchair and pushchair friendly route ......really good woodland walk as well and would highly recommend the dog friendly cafe at the end of the route for coffee and cake (next to football field)

Big well cared for car park and fabulous walks with great art dotted around the place. Lovely lake to walk around and even a waterfall! Level and well maintained. What a fabulous amenity for locals to use.

As a local north east museum, it is not bad. I like their portrait art or just any with humen in it, not many nature art capture my eyes, expect the Flemish parrot arts. Their collection of eggs and antlers from the left room are way more interesting. I think it was in the left or right room, there were some mini tile collections are quite impressive. They also sale some V& A products which is surprising. The only thing I don’t like is some tables and chairs that’s the in main halls and in the right room. I think when they don’t have event, they can put it away, so people have more space to walk around. However, it appears they have very few staff so maybe that’s why they just left. Overall, it’s a nice place to spend an hour at. Wonder how their event is, but you have to contact them directly ask for the details of events.

Small but well laid out with a mix of classical and contemporary art and design pieces. Would have been nice to be able to get a drink or snack but no provision for those.

We are care staff who had other plans take our disabled service user around salt well park but the heavens opened up and poured it down so we decided to take the service user to the art gallery which was absolutely amazing and to make things even better the hospitality will received from one of the stuff called Mark was second to none. He went the extra mile offered to lend us an umbrella and even made our service user and carers cups of teas and coffee even though it wasn't a coffee shop. Just absolutely amazing. Will definitely be going again.

Really excellent museum- a real gem. Try a Saturday when everyone is out shopping 👍🏼 had the place to ourselves. Beautiful displays and immaculate galleries. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly too.

Walkable from Newcastle, though it's easier on the way back as it's downhill. I spent twice as long as planned. Stunning ceramics collection, enough fascinating and satisfying paintings to take me back...and the warm, helpful staff that every decent Geordie institution provides for free.

Art museum that has free entry, the Shipley Art Gallery was opened in 1917 with a collection of 504 paintings bequeathed by a local solicitor Joseph Shipley. Since then the galleries collection has grown to include nearly 800 paintings and collections of works on paper, decorative art and contemporary craft. The Shipley's art collection was designated of national importance in 1998. Which includes a local favourite, William Irving's painting 'The Blaydon Racers'. In 1977 the Shipley began collecting contemporary art made in Britain. Over the last 25 years the venue has become established as a national centre for contemporary craft and has built up one of the best collections outside London, including ceramics, wood, metal, glass, textiles and furniture. The main hall had nearly floor to ceiling paintings, these were of figures, still life painted in different styles, also paintings of fisherman, farm workers and water views. Think enough paintings to suit any taste for everyday scenes. The paintings are by different artists that were very talented in my opinion. One of the side galleries was showing different types of chairs, some you can actually try. There is a wood and leather desk that is a marvellous piece of woodworking and leather craft art. I spent a well interesting 2 hours in the gallery, the art work is varied and stunning for some. And all of this for free, there is a donation box near the exit.

This is a small gallery but it’s great to visit, there’s kids packs to do and they often have art sessions on. Easy to park outside of and a nice walk around the area too. It’s right next to library too.

Went for their Halloween do and was great for the little ones

Went a few years back for the 1940s weekend I believe. There was loads on that day including WW2 displays and stalls, was a lovely day out. The museum side to Bowes was nice and very interesting. I would give 5 stars but unfortunately there's just not enough events on at Bowes and only open certain days.

Lovely little train museum that I brought my classes of 5-7 year old and they all had a great time. The staff were very accomadting and helped to keep the children entertained throughout the whole day. The children got to go inside old trains, learn about the history golf the trains being used with the Cole mines, have a little go at blacksmithing and plant flowers in the allotment. Really recommend this place for anyone who has a interest or/and are teaching about trains, coal mines or George Stephenson.

Had an excellent guided tour .Will encourage more of these ventures so as to preserve history.

As a ex-miner it was great to view and touch the items you thought you would never see again. I took our 7 year old and he loved the guided tour and seeing the old machines cutting metal. Brilliant day out so get there when you can. I won't add photos as you want to see them for yourself👍 10/10

Great place to visit if you are interested in history and the industrial north east, guide was very informative, lots to see, locomotives, workshops, forges, theres a cafe selling hot and cold drinks , cake and snacks, very pleasant staff , large car park and parking for disabled, run entirely by volunteers who have a passion for what they do .

Very interesting, you can early 1900 coal mine and railway work shops, engine shed. Photos from 1940s war weekend. Good fun but educational too!

Fantastic piece of history here. The guided tour was excellent, a very knowledgeable guide with plenty of background stories and anecdotes. Plenty to see and friendly volunteers. Stephensons 'second railway'. Worth supporting the hard work that is done there.

Another place I've discovered because of the Great North exhibition and will definitely revisit. Friendly welcoming staff, cafe and information centre with a small library. At the minute there is a display of tapestries showing scenes from the North East which I would recommend.

I visited this venue as part of the #NewcastleStartupWeek programme and it was brilliant to see such a stunning place being used for non traditional purpose. Aside from the main hall, there's also a smaller 'quiet' area where you can sit with your laptop or read a book. There's FREE wifi and all facilities.

Historic venue showing the birth and history of Gateshead. Really insightful bookshop. Worth a visit, not a church anymore but a proper place of our heritage. Events are held here and undoubtedly would be a great place to hire out

A great part of Gateshead's heritage, restored into a flexible and inviting space. Try to go on a sunny day to see the stained glass! We went for funny bones silent film festival and the kids loved it.

The staff were very friendly and the price of £8 for 3 hours is very reasonable. It's set-up as a social enterprise so you don't pay the prices of a profit-making business but you also don't therefore get the guest facilities either. This didn't matter to us but some people may go expecting more. We go to Adrenaline Alley at Corby a lot and there is a much wider range of rooms and ramps there but that is £13 per session of 4.5 hrs. My son said he scored Dynamix 4 stars because there weren't any resys (resin jumps, where the kids land on foam covered with resin to make practicing new tricks safer) and also a few of the jumps just went straight up and didn't flow very well and they jolted you. It was still a great way to spend a few hours though and I applaud the team for making a space where kids can go and exercise safely and have fun and doesn't cost the earth.

Exellent skate park. We traveled 2 hours for the big kids night. Great bunch of people skating and the staff are great. Awesome to see the tuition for people who are wanting to try something new. Would highly recommend the big kids night to anyone who is looking to have a go. Will definitely be back.

When I went it was my first time on a scooter I know nothing and was terrified to drop in . After a while the staff came over and asked if I was ok then I told the my issue and the told me the teknike and encouraged me a lot. Over all the place is a wonder I real recommend it for ametures to pros anyone really

I've never felt more welcomed or accepted in any other Skatepark. There is literally something for everyone. From the mellowest of ramps, to the most extreme. Large open areas to practice flat ground with innumerable flatbars and ledges scattered everywhere, yet still leaving enough space for everybody. Food and drink reasonably priced, with healthier options seeming to be cheaper (which is lovely to see). Whilst I was there I also opened up a nasty scratch and I was seen to and dealt with by a member of stuff who knew what he was talking about and gave me anti-septic wipes and looked for a big plaster. Simply the best place to go on a rainy day or even a sunny one.

My son had a fall today and not one of the staff could be bothered to stop squeezing their spots to ask how he was.i would not suggest leaving your kids alone in this dump.you can ask my 7 year old who went to hospital today.just pleased I was there to help him.

I haven't skated for about a decade and decided for my birthday to pop down. Really friendly staff and they had me dropping in on 4ft, something I wasn't even able to do when I skated before. Thanks guys, great coaching!

Was at dynamix this morning with the kids for the begginer session, and it was amazing 🙌🔥 being the only blader there, they had got a staff member in just for me incase I needed any help, which I did so Rosa (staff) helped me out loads and manage to get me dropping in 😊😊 The rest of the staff were great as well, helping the kids with tips, encouragement and fist pumps 🙌🙌 and just making sure everyone was having fun 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 will definitely be going back 😊

Fantastic little hidden gem! Cafe ladies were so friendly and the food was amazing! My little one loved doing the bug hunt and watching the pond skaters, we will certainly be back!

Have a coffee and and a sandwich with a piece of cake here. All homemade by the volunteers who run the little cafe. The cakes our just wonderful. The watermill is an interesting visit also with information about the very interesting history of the place and area. Well worth a visit. Only open at weekends, though you can have a pleasant walk around the woods and see the mill from outside.

Place run by volunteers, very welcoming. Lots of work to do if you fancy old machinery. Beautiful paths around the water mill, back gardens and around the small lakes and rivers. Very well looked after and lovely gardens. Coffee and cakes available.

We had a fantastic time, little one loved running round all the diffrent things which you follow the numbers trail, very interesting and great little snugs to sit down and relax in, you can take your time with a no rush attitude. Plenty to do and see, would recommend.

Restored watermill built in 1730, free entry, with a coffee shop and lovely walks and surrounding countryside. Path Head Water Mill is an 18th-century watermill at Summerhill on Blaydon Burn, between Blaydon and Stella, near Gateshead in north-east England. The Vale Mill Trust has been restoring the site to include a water-powered joiners' workshop and a visitor centre since 1994/1995.

It's great to see places like this being looked after and loved by enthusiastic volunteers. The grounds are great and make for some nice photo opportunities. If the amenities were better I would have rated much higher. Still very much worth a visit!

Beautiful place to visit. My boys (7 and 4 years old) absolutely loved it. The staff were absolutely brilliant 👏 especially with the kids 👏
