My wife uses a mobility scooter, on this occasion we hadn't charged it sufficiently and it powered down. Luckily we were just inside the zoo. I spoke with a chap at reception who supplied us with a wheelchair and stored ours securely during our visit. Extremely helpful and pleasant, I think his name was Jamie. Just for information, the zoo is particularly hilly and has several inclines, only the most robust of mobility scooter would cope with the terrain. We enjoyed our day, ate in the restaurant and once again the chap that served us was very pleasant and helpful. The food was good too.

This trip was my first visit since Duchess the elephant passed away in 2019. Before that I used to visit almost weekly and take a stroll around the zoo. 4 years after my annual membership comes to an end, I visit again, however, this time I was more disappointed than happy. A lot of sections were closed off for renovation -which is great for the animals - but i think the list of animals that we couldn't see would outweigh the list of animals that we could see. We stopped in the restaurant for some lunch. Possibly a little over priced but it did taste good. Overall I think Paignton Zoo is an expensive day out. If you plan on making a family trip, I'd recommend bringing your own picnic to save on costs and booking tickets in advance. Positives: the car park is extremely big and free. Walking around the zoo is great excersize. The renovations shouldn't take too long to finish and the animals will have nicer enclosures :) I wish Paignton Zoo all the best.

Great zoo. Been to Paignton many times but this was a first visit to the zoo. Great offer of kids go free with paying adult meant we paid £40 for a family of five. We spent three hours there but could easily have done more. Be prepared for lots of walking and some steep slopes. Several enclosures were going through renovation but there were still plenty of animals to see. Would definitely visit again.

It was a nice day out however we were slightly disappointed by the lack of animals. A few of the enclosures were empty with no sign of why, whilst others were empty with signs stating that work was being done. This was fine. The fact that the park is so big and hard to navigate made the day slightly more frustrating. The guide (map) was £3.50 on the way in which is a clear money making scheme and there were no maps on the way around to see where we were or where we were going. We ended up walking up dead ends, away from all the animals and this was extremely frustrating as someone who is 8 months pregnant trying to make the most of the school holidays with her children. We missed a number of animals simply because we couldn't find our way to them. Yes we could have bought a guide, but £3.50 for something you throw away when you get home, on top of the price of food and tickets, was unreasonable to me. Other zoos I have attended provide these free on the way in and provide maps whilst navigating the area. Ice cream was overpriced, but to be expected for an attraction area such as this. Gift shop is located on the way in and way out, another clear money making scheme however the items in the gift shop are nice and have a good range. There is a lot of walking included in the visit and a very small amount of it is flat, this is something people should be aware of if walking or in mobility scooters as the land is sometimes uneven. I'm very unsure if I'll be attending this zoo again as I have found others that are more beneficial and animal focused.

Fantastic Zoo with fantastic enclosures. We went midweek and the zoo was quiet enough to enjoy at a pace we liked. Having the mobility scooters for hire was absolutely fantastic, it meant I could ensure the experience with my children without worrying about the repercussions later. The food was lovely and had great portion sizes. Overall a fantastic day with very helpful and attentive staff.

We visited during easter. The zoo has plenty of parking. Unfortunately it was a rainy day when we visited, however the staff had set up arts and crafts in sheltered places to occupy the children while everyone got out of the rain. When we visited we converted to an annual pass, so although it is dear, if you were local you would get your money's worth back. We were fortunate enough to see most of the animals so it was a successful visit in spite of the weather. I think it's a lovely zoo with a layout which means you are not on top of each other with other visitors. We went to the canteen when it was pouring at some point and though not gourmet, the portions are generous and reasonably priced. What we didn't do well was plan our trip aligned to some of the feeding times and talks. I would advise finding out about these in advance as they are worth it. Would definitely say it's a good day out for the family. I only wish you better weather. Would not hesitate to return given the chance in the next 12 months.

Surprisingly spacious zoo with so much to do and so nicely laid out! The zoo itself was super clean too and we went on a busy weekend. Make sure you bring your walking boots though as it is super hilly but well worth the trek!

What an amazing zoo, we had such a wonderful day! Really lovely enclosures and seemingly happy animals! Friendly staff, good choice at the Island restaurant and very nice gift shop. We visited on a Tuesday in winter so it was very quiet with no queues and no problems seeing all of the animals!

Really nice place it does have slopes. Friendly staff who are always happy to talk about the animals. Food is quite expensive and there are a lot a seagulls just ready to pounce. All in all a great day out for the family.

It was such an amazing experience we had in here! I visited this place with my kids and spent the whole day here. Animals are well kept, and the stuff was helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. This zoo is definitely worth a visit 🥰

Lovely day out. But can't help but feel the zoo is lacking somewhat, lots of empty enclosures, and things being moved. Kids went free which is good, can't say I'd be overly impressed if all paid full price. Staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Will probably wait for news of new animals before returning.

Great Zoo! My disabled wife, teenage son , teenage daughter and I visited the zoo on 23rd October and discovered Paignton Zoo really cares about their animals and their customers. We booked tickets online as requested and arrived at 12.30pm there was plenty of free parking but be advised the Zoo is on the side of a steep valley which if you have a self propelled wheelchair, like us, is going to be challenge. When booking online and providing you supply proof, one carer can be submitted free of charge, which I thought very generous. We entered the Zoo and discovered really helpful staff who offered us the opportunity to rent an off-road electric scooter for just £20 for the duration of our visit. We also had to pay a £20 deposit which would be refunded when we returned the scooter undamaged. We were in two minds whether to take this offer but this turned out to be a great investment as the hills were steep and the paths were long. They also provided us with a map marking out the routes and attractions available via scooter or buggies. There was a real focus on making disabled customers and families with buggies/prams welcome in all areas of the zoo. Toilets and refreshment stalls were dotted around the zoo keeping kids happy and the animals and attractions were accessible for all to see. Even though maintenance was taking place all animals were accessible, bar the giraffes. Apparently, they had a wild time the night previous and just couldn't face dealing with the public with hangovers.. we've all been there! The zoo wasn't over crowded, there was no waiting in-line for anything even though it was quite busy. Food was lovely and we all had a really good time. We would definitely recommend a visit and don't forget to leave a donation as they get no financial support from the Government.

We had a lovely time, despite being a chilly winter day, mid-February. It did mean most of the animals were staying tucked up inside in the warm. But we could view them in their quarters, apart from the Giraffes. My 3 year old granddaughter loved it. They are doing renovations for some of the enclosures and public park areas, which I'm sure will be fabulous by the summer. They have some great birds and lots of cheeky apes. I would say the Baboons need to be next on the list for a regeneration. Fabulous, reasonably priced coffee. Caution ⚠️(parents with little ones) The shop with delightful toys is on full view when you enter! Haha Car parking is free.

We have a family pass so we can go as many times in 12 months which is amazing. The facilities for kids are great such as the soft play area that is broken down into areas for age groups. The animal enclosures are well maintained and it is clear they invest in the animals and the site as a whole.

Lovely place with lots to see. Many animals stayed inside due to the cold which was a shame. Lots of walking which was great. A fabulous day out for little ones too with a couple if decent play parks. No hot food for customers from the cafe though, only hot pizzas for the workmen! Disappointing as they had run out of pasties which was the only thing available and nothing vegetarian either.

Lovely zoo with many interesting animals. Some good improvements being made to some enclosures with animal welfare being focused on. Good access for those needing, good to book a scooter beforehand, with good instruction on areas to avoid. Lunch options cater for most tastes with a number of cafes scattered around and the main restaurant well placed.

Took our (nearly) 3 year old here for the day and she had the time of her life. The zoo itself is more like a sprawling lush subtropical garden paradise with animal enclosures dotted throughout. The animals were all well cared for and healthy looking. The restaurant was nice too, offering a cool break from the heat outside. Make sure to take plenty of water in the warmer months! Highly recommended.

It has over 2,000 animals, however no elephants. The giraffes are my all time favorite, wish we could get up close and personal with them. Very clean, lovely walks on steady paths, great for disabled persons and also offer electric scooters for those that can't quite walk all the way around. The crocodiles have been taken out of the zoo due to power shortage from the weather, but great zoo all in all. Take a pack lunch or a picnic so you are saving on money.

This is my first time to Paignton Zoo. It seems that a lot of the animals weren't there, or hiding lol. The zebra and giraffe areas looked like a building site but it does say that they're improving it at this time. I still have 5 stars because it's all about looking for the animals.

Getting to the Zoo was no problem at all after arriving at the booked time slot. It was fascinating to see the different types of animals in their almost natural enclosures. The information boards were packed with key facts and information to provide insight to what the animals eat and what are like out in the wild. We spent the whole day here which was good considering how much you are paying to gain entry. Would advise bringing a picnic but beware of the seagulls. All round good day out for two.

Visited numerous times as a member. Great if you want to do something for a few hours or spend a whole day. Staff are always friendly and helpful and zoo keepers are very knowledgeable. Worth getting the membership if your are local.

Lovely open space to walk around and explore the animals. Indoor viewing areas help when the weather is not so dry. Great cafe with a good choice of food at reasonable prices. You can also bring your own food and picnic on the benches whilst watching the animals

A lovely zoo to visit on a nice day, there were four of us who went, myself and better half and two small ones (both under 3), parking was easy to find and get into with a short walk to the entrance where you’re able to view flamingos before entering, staff are warm and welcoming and seem genuinely helpful. There are a good deal of animals to see across different species along with different habitats such as an insect room and reptile house. There are opportunities to have an experience with talks and feeding sessions throughout the day for you to attend with times prominently displayed as you enter. The on site cafe and restaurant is a little expensive but not drastically pricey and the same goes for the gift shop on site as well, we came away with, I think 4, small souvenirs which totalled just above £20. The only drawbacks I experienced were some of the doors were a bit of a challenge to navigate with a double pushchair and some of the enclosures were quite far apart from each other so sensible footwear and clothing is a must. But overall a genuinely fun and engaging day out with the family

Very quiet on a Friday morning into early afternoon visit. With just young families and the odd members walking around it felt like we had the place to ourselves. All the animals were visible and we saw all the new arrivals since our last visit. We also had lunch in the restaurant which was quick and convenient.

Quite hilly to walk around and to/from the car park, son was excited to realise this is where the CBBC The Zoo is filmed after recognising different areas. Pleasant day out, a few empty enclosures but signs explaining moves around but some just closed (Black Rhino) with no explanation. Some areas were a bit tatty needing a bit of tidying up, but given the poor weather recently this is understandable as not ideal conditions to be doing these sorts of repairs. Would perhaps be worth considering a little shuttle up to the car park as it was a long walk at the end of the day!

Pity a lot of the animals were inside their huts as we only got to see about half of the animals. Some of the snack type facilities weren’t open & it was a case of going back to the restaurant for food. Thought the prices in the restaurant were very reasonable. Paths around the zoo were good but be warned that it’s not all on a level ground.

A great day out! Lots to see, ample parking, friendly staff. The only bad mark was that some exhibits at the time of vist (I.e. Kangaroos) were empty and this wasn't informed, but plenty else to see

Lovely family day out. A great variety of food stalls and the Amusement arcade is huge! There is always some sort of entertainment/ fair ground on the green too. Can't beat it on a sunny day for that traditional seaside trip! Given 4 stars as it can be pricey with most fair rides being £3 each.

Cracking view from the pier. The amusement arcades were well stocked with a good mix of games and I thought the prices were very good compared to other arcades across the country. The crazy golf was superb too.

We haven't walked down the pier for many years. It was good to see the improvements made. There is a lot of arcade games and a dinosaur themed crazy golf cause at the end of the pier. Excellent views across Torbay.

Firstly great it's open till late, we arrived this weekend gone for the pirate festival and arrived late Saturday, we were stopping Paignton so decided to pop.down to the pier, was great it was open and so many fun machines for the kids and us adults aswell, and lots to do at end of the pier which was great for my eldest who is 11 and youngest age 9. They had a fabulous time. We had some lovely waffles at the top end of the pier and a lovely lady who served me, customer service was fabulous, very chatty and lovely to talk to.

Smaller pier boasting an arcade in its middle, some children's rides and seats at the outer end and a chip shop, doughnut and ice cream place and a second arcade at the shore end. Definitely worth taking the kids, the chip shop is brilliant but is a bit pricey. Great views north and south along the coast are afforded from either side of the pier and there are seats for you to rest your legs if you've been walking a lot.

A quintessentially British seaside experience! 2p machines, fish and chip and hot ring donuts - what more could you want from the English Riviera! Sure the arcade puts you at risk of sensory overload and we were lucky with a good weather day, but honestly the Pier combine with some time at the Geoplay Park was a great family day out that every one in the family enjoyed! We will definitely return!

Arcade that has something for the little kids and big kids. Even a crazy golf at the end of the pier, weather permitting, chips and doughnuts are a bonus. Parking close by too.

Great place for long walks and chips by the seaside. Beware of seagulls, they will attack you for your food. If you're expecting something very scenic and upmarket, it's a standard seaside town. Having no expectations is the best bet. Some great places to get coffee and cake and lots of amusement arcades - like I said, standard seaside town. Great place to bring young kids as there's a fairground (at a cost) and there's also a large public play area for kiddies. Enjoyable afternoon out, especially if you like a good long stroll.

I am concerned at how degraded this front has been allowed to spiral downwards. Years ago it was kiss me quick but fun and felt safe. Present day, Litter everywhere, noisy, dirty, overpriced, it has regressed into a park for Neolithic man and the marketing worked, awful, lasted half an hour, will never come back

A fun place to head to in the holidays. The amusements here seemed even more expensive than the ones I occasionally visit closer to my home. Some more unusual games which seemed even more impossible to win than usual and charged at £1 per attempt included a pointer aiming down at a peg sticking out of a platform and a pointer sent out to release a peg type attachment. Lots of people winning tickets but not many people winning actual prizes. A bit of fun all the same. Just set yourself a strict limit with spending before you get sucked in!

Really loved this pier so many grabber machines and 2p tipping point machines with amazing prices, but after spending £30 we did not come away with anything so maybe they are making it a bit harder than some of the other piers we have visited. But fun nonetheless. Zultan is a fav of mine and I got a lovely future prediction. The food looked pier worthy but we did not eat. Thereis crazy golf at the end of the pier the dinosaur are so realistic. Was not open but looked fun. I would highly recommend and seemed fairly priced.

It's a lovely and clean area with alot of food options which aren't too badly priced. Yet the arcade on the pier is sadly a con. Alot of coins are glued and makes it very hard to at least win one item or get your coins back. Apart from that good pier and lovely views.

A fantastic pier for a visit for a couple of hours. Really well maintained amusements and a great selection of food vendors open, we went for fresh donuts and ice cream and they were banging! the one drawback I noticed was the claw machines seem very unlikely to be able to grab air let alone a toy, but the games were great and really good value with something to suit all ages. The mini golf was closed when we went but my lad absolutely loved seeing all the dinosaurs along it. A genuinely great time out to be had with the family with plenty of photo opportunities

Who doesn't love a pier, unfortunately this was incredibly run down with lots of problems with machines and outside pay per games eating your money and not working- lots of people chasing staff to retrieve their money out the machines. Inside was chaos (good for the pier owners). Side notes: only toilets we saw were at entrance to pier and cost 30p to use, which are filthy! Very limited (pay for) parking along sea-front.

This is a nice beach and I've always enjoyed it here but after today's visit, I was a bit more disappointed. Dogs are not allowed in the main part of the beach from 1st may yet there were about 10 dogs running around. Not everyone likes dogs, and we specifically chose this part of the beach as it was supposedly dog free. There was also dog poo on the beach and also saw a dog defecate and the owner just leave it. Not great when you have a toddler who doesn't know the difference between a brown stone or a brown log of poo. Very seaweedy and stony in parts, which is fine, just a heads up, and the sand is very nice and fine. We had fun making sandcastles and finding different size stones.

Can walk dogs on the one end of the beach. Good family day out as splash down and beach near here. Great walks around here

Only went at night so can't say much for the scenery 🤣 but it was a lovely quiet beach for a dog walk and was great for using the longlines. Easy access from the carpark . Overall really enjoyed

Could be lovely but too busy when sunny. One beach has too many dogs and the other has too many people. Good beach for children as there is lots of sand and the beach shelves very gently so is nice and safe. No good eating places. Very much a cheap? And cheerful place but not for me

Gorgeous & large beach. Reminded me a bit of Manly in Sydney! Out of the 5 beaches I visited in South Devon (Broadsands, Goodrington, Paignton, Torre Abbey & Meadfoot), this was my favourite. We visited in February half-term so too cold to swim but can imagine how lovely it would be during the summer. Light food snacks available to purchase at the little kiosk, water quite steep at £1.45 a bottle. Little gift shop nice with a good selection of merchandise. There was some building work taking place at the time, not sure what they are planning but would be nice to see whatever it is when it’s finished!

The toilets are shut mid beach and travellers were taking over the car park !!! It was not a pleasant experience as I came away dehydrated as concerned about lack of toilet facilities! When it costs so much to park I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect basic facilities!!

We had a fabulous couple of visits to this beach on our holiday, it's great for soaking up the sun & our son loved making a sandcastle & having a splash in the sea. It's close to a large water park, a pub, shops & small eateries. Well worth a visit. 👍🏖

Lovely beach with a good measure of sand and rock pools. The coffee/burger place next to the waterpark on the seafront was really overpriced given the awful food on sale. I don't generally expect a lot but this was not nice. The ice cream place was lovely though 😋There is another place on the opposite end of the beach that looked much better (not tried it yet). Beach is very clean and family friendly, toilets are good, 30p a wee 😄

Very quiet at the moment. Parking could be an issue over bank Holiday at not many spaces. Lots of little shops for drinks and ice creams.

Pretty good, tons of play equipment and a good use of the space. There's a lot nearby for good and drink including the cinema too. It can get very busy for all of the season so be prepared. There are some fair ground rides during spring/ summer, these are cash only

Great area to take toddlers and young children too, can be very busy during the summer but when the fair is in town it's to be expected, not bad for the adults either if you want to play about as well 😉

Great place to bring your children and it's free. What could be better, hours of fun for them to play while you grab a coffee and a bag of chips. Mind the seagulls as they are well versed in snatching objects especially chips regardless how hot they are. Lots of things for the younger child to do. I would say up to the age of 10 to 12, above this I don't think they would be interested. Give it a go if you are in the area and want a restbite from the kids you won't regret it.

I walked past here on my way to somewhere else. It was raining that day but the area looked good. There were a few places to eat. The children's area could have been better. Some things are worn out. It would be better in the summer.

Took our granddaughter here for the accessible wheelchair swing It was chained to the floor, the cafe said they use to have a key but it was taken away and to find a man called John Gosfield. No idea who or where this man is so couldn’t use the swing

This is a great place for the children to play after a trip to the beach or to let off steam in the evening. There's something for all ages and my children made new friends every evening.

Kids loved play equipment. Parts are looking a bit tired, and some equipment not working. Overall good fun for the kids.

Kids loved it! They wore wetsuits as it was quite over cast and grey, but said they were too hot and wouldn't bother next time. Spent 3 hrs here, which was plenty of time. I thought the price for just watching was a bit steep, but there were plenty of benches or sun loungers to use. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing, stunning views, although a little bit long queues for attractions but still fun for whole family. Also meal deal contents nice big burgers. Definitely coming back.

A great day had by all! Seems to have a lot of large groups (including us), probably due to the discount you get. It is quite pricey, so you should make a day of it if you can. We broke it up by stopping for lunch in the middle, this allowed the kids to keep going as they warmed up for a bit. I think there were around 10/11 slides. The two tube runs are good, as they last quite a while. There is also one small baby pool, and a larger pool. The water is very warm. Has a cafe with hot food, reasonable prices. Outdoor picnic tables and some lounge beds.

Amazing slides, very fun day out with friends. Good food and a very good beach nearby. Would recommend, and would visit again!

Kids aged 18, 14, 13, 11 x 2, 10, 8 & dads not seen sight of the entire visit. They had an absolute blast, even though we visited in August school holidays the ques for rides weren't too bad. 3yr old loved the little toddler pool, but that was all he could do, aswell as 1yr old. There really could be some improvement for littler kids as they cannot go on the bigger slides, meaning youre stuck hanging about in a tiny area for most of the visit. Also could do with more shade created around sitting areas & baby pool. Would visit again but will probably leave the little ones on the beach.

It's a little pricey but the kids really enjoyed it. They do get a little chilling while waiting in the long lines. Will be back tho.

The rides are fun, but the Slide Guides expect you to just know what to do on the ride - I'd recommend asking for a guide on each ride if unsure as it's not always clear. A 2-hour time slot (there is a choice between 2 and 3-hour ones) was appropriate for us and is enough to go on all of the rides multiple times. Devil's Drop is awesome!

The kids loved it here, the 3 hour pass was plenty for them to experience all of the slides a few times. The food was basic and filling and not overpriced which was a welcome bonus. Plenty of areas for spectating parents to hang out and a large locker/changing room area.

No slide for little kids, we have a family of 5 been Splashdown waterpark, unfortunately no swimming pool for adults, only slides, daughter year 5, nothing to do only a small swimming pool with around 50 people in. I can recommend this place only from 10 years old... nothing for a little, adults.....if you're ready to slide for two hours... good luck 🤞

lovely little beach but have to pay for parking and to use the toilets (coins or card). There are a few shops but most importantly there is an ice cream shop.

Great fun for the family. Clean and well maintained. The only reason it gets 3 stars is there was about 20 travellers who started a fight at the top of the highest ride and hit a young lady who worked there in the face. We felt this was dangerous and not dealt with well so we decided to leave early as I have young children and I didn’t want them to be caught up in anything. The reason we felt it was dealt with badly was because nothing was done about it. The staff were worried about coming across as not being inclusive but if anyone hits anyone in the face regardless of their background they should surely be removed from the park.

It was very cold on the day we went. However, there is plenty to do in terms of water slides, the water was quite warm to be honest. It was when you got out the water, you started to freeze. 🤣 The lockers are very small and there's not much room to move about in the changing rooms, it's very claustrophobic, in my opinion. Also I asked to rinse my baby bottle out (as it had curdled) to which there wasn't anywhere for me too do it, according to the young girl behind the desk. Pretty shocking really that throughout the whole area, there wasn't a single place I could wash my baby bottle out. Even the 30p public toilet wash facilities didn't work. Think the council need to revamp the facilities and make sure everything is in working order.

1st time going today with my son amazing time brought a 3hr slot price £36.00 was it worth it yes 100 % lockers on site price 20p non refund we ate there 2 cheese burgers large chips and large drink £15 so the slide we went when temperature was 34c and only waited 5 mins per slide great time seriously go and have a great day out

Busy bustling town, like everywhere run down in some places. Pier just amusements, games. Long Beach full of sea grass, shingle sand but go left to pier beautiful red sand Preston beach and huts. Small marina right of pier, fishing trips, also nice pubs/restaurant. Mini golf also kids play area here. Steam train rides. Change or card needed 30p toilets,, big thank you to 2 locals guys one whom directed us to bus station and other got us on the right bus to find our way back to our holiday accommodation, many thanks 😊

Paignton Beach, something for everyone. The pier entertainment, the free geopark, plenty of food stalls . Swimming, paddling building sand castles . No dogs May to Oct . Ideal family beach .

Clear water, the beach is clean, and the sand is soft and fine. It's worth going. The water is shallow, so it's safe for children. We loved it.

A quiet location when we visited. We parked at Preston beach and then walked down to Paignton beach along the promenade. Dogs were not allowed on the beach until the 1st October. The people we met were polite and pleasant and it was a nice afternoon walk.

Beach in Paignton United Kingdom. It is a place where to go in this small town during the summer and quite always over the year. During the summer, here is like in China, it is full of people enjoying the sun. During the winter, you can walk along the beach and walk your dogs.. you have a few restaurants, cinemas, ice cream, and nearby. It is a small harbour where you can take the boat, you can go fishing by boat also, few factories of crabs and many things around. Many people from the North come here for holidays and on the sea front are a lot of hotels. Hope here I gave you the information you need.

Bit of an interesting drive to get too. Small & historical buildings. Mostly a private place due to having residents. Nice garden and grounds. The tours are excellent and take place frequently. Enjoyable visit if passing through.

Small place to visit in a lovely valley. Amazing to see and feel the history of the fortified manor house and great to see the beautiful gardens and little orchard. A nice distraction for an hour or two with super staff and knowledgeable volunteers before we headed on to Parke for a good dog walk.

A hidden gem. Worth the visit even though only a few rooms are available to be viewed due to the property still being lived in by the family who built it. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable and approachable. Beautiful gardens and orchard. Not many facilities, no gift shop or cafe but a lovely area for picnics and toilets are available. Disabled visitors may find the 2 rooms upstairs difficult or impossible due to the narrow spiral staircases.

What a lovely afternoon. Not too much to do as it's quite small, but really ingesting history and the gardens were beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Compton is well worth a visit, the staff are amazing. The young guy in the car park was so friendly and very helpful. Once you get into the castle you will receive a very warm welcome. A number of the staff are dressed in period costumes and are a fountain of knowledge, this is a great idea as it helps you to visualise how the castle was in the past.

An interesting building. Different vibe than your normal NT property. We were rather zealously shouted at to not take photos when we hadn't been told on entrance nor seen any obvious signs. (There was nothing explicitly personal on show). The current owners are very lucky to have had their ancestors strike such a deal with the NT regarding access and upkeep of their home). We were definitely made to feel we were very honoured to be given access.

Great small castle. A few rooms open to the public. Only open 4 hour's 3 day's a week parking is limited so would advice to get here at opening time to get a space. It is still a family home so no photography is permitted inside the house. Recommend you pay a visit here. The gardens are outstanding with a beautiful fountain and lots of seating available to sit and relax.

Lovely house with beautiful gardens, the internal areas of the house being part opened to the public as the remainder is still a private family residence. Fascinating history to discover about the history of the family and the property, wonderfully explained by the helpful guides. Picnic tables in the adjoining field and a small grassed parking area at the property entrance. Worth noting that no inside photography is allowed at this property as still a private residence. Recommended to visit!

A nice way to spend 1hour. Must be one of the smallest National Trust properties I've been to. No cafe, bookshop or gift shop. Best part was sitting in the garden by the Lily pond admiring the rolling green hills

Lovely Fortified-manor-house-castle with a free guided tour (check NT times on their website). Takes about 45 minutes. Well worth a visit including the small detour from Portsmouth to Plymouth!! Beautiful rose garden also.

Lovely day out, although most time was spent in the bale maze playing tag with other children. Easy to find and plenty if parking. Toilets and handwashing throughout the area. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is some food in the play area, but would recommend a packed lunch as sausage roll £3+ and Decaf oat latte £3+ go prepared. Decided to go for the annual pass to make it better value for money in the future.

Brilliant place to go for a few hours. Lovely woodland walk with lots of bird life to see. Beautifully kept grounds. Farm animals, petting corners. Nice restaurant and indoor play barn for kids. Lovely place to go for all ages.

It has a great car park including Disabled parking. It has a toilet, a cafe which is dog friendly. The farm shop downstairs has a lot on offer, from gifts, food, beverage etc. A good indoor play area for the kids, and a good nature trail to walk around. It's also on a bus route. And the woodlands close by which leads down into Cockington.

Visited the cafe with a 12 week old puppy which meant we were not allowed into the main part of the cafe but was allowed to sit in the side section. Staff very enthusiastic and welcoming. Good choice of food and drink at reasonable prices. Would definitely visit again. Popped into the farm shop while we were there for abquick look around and would visit again as they have a good range of products.

When the weather allow for it, this farm is what parents/carers needs! You can easily spend a full day in here! Feeding the animals and interacting with them, play grounds and a sand pit, the maze is also fun. Definitely recommended! I was only visiting the area but if I was living anywhere nearby, I would have with no doubt gotten an annual pass. One bag of animal food per child is more than enough. Could also work for 2 young children

Came here as it seemed a better prospect than Paignton Zoo. There were brushing the goats and cuddling the Guinea pigs events on the day we went but we don’t participate so I can’t advise on those. We came on a weekday in term time so it was quite quiet and we could slowly walk round to see the animals and give them feed (£1 a bag) without having to worry about taking too much time and getting in other people’s way. Trail around the farm pens outside is probably only about a fifteen minute walk. There’s goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, donkeys and ponies. Inside there’s a large playing area for the older kids and a little cafe so adults can sit and eat/drink while the children play. There’s a smaller room for younger children to play with soft beanbags and cushions. There’s quite a large farm shop full of toys, food, souvenirs etc, pricey as you’d imagine these places to be but as a treat they wouldn’t be too bad. Under 3s are free which is great because there really isn’t much for them apart from looking at the animals and the sensory area. Adult ticket was £10.95 with gift aid, I do think the ticket price was ok, anything more and it would be unreasonable since we didn’t really spend a lot of time there. I’d recommend it for families with children over three who have enough disposable income to enjoy a day out feeding the animals and sitting in the cafe while the children play.

Went to both the café for breakfast, and the farm shop. Both excellent! Proper ingredients for the breakfast. And service was pretty quick, despite being busy. Farm shop has an incredible selection of locally produced goods. Food, drink, dry goods, gifts. And squeaky crow puppets. Everything you could ever need.

I had heard mixed reviews about this place but recently decided to give it a go, and my am I glad that we did. What a little gem of a place. Although not masses to do there, the kids seem to love it. We managed almost 4 hours and they still didn't want to leave. The stacked straw bales are a big hit, although there are plenty of hidden holes in which feet and even whole legs fall into and get trapped, but they loved it. Not many animals, but enough for them to get hands on if the wish from cuddling to grooming. Now the TRACTORS..... OCCOMBE FARM PLEASE TAKE NOTE.... Great idea, but there just are not enough!! Most of the pedled ones are missing their peddles so the kids can't use them. Also making them really dangerous as now they're just got metal bars. Please fix them up, please buy some more. What about some wiggle cars? Or even some pony cycle things? Anyway..... just an idea and in my opinion the only area really that needs looking at. After paying for day entry I then upgraded to an annual pass. Its perfectly located to come and visit for an hour or so after school. Cafe is expensive, but welcome to bring own food and a flask. Maybe some extra seating inside somehow? Or even a long bent along a wall somewhere and some coat hooks. I've found that people place a bag and some coats at a table but don't actually sit down and use it. Hey I'm full of bright ideas..... maybe you should just employ me 🤣🤣

Beautiful shop and café. The cheese scone was delicious, but the double coffee was terrible. We can't go to the indoor playground because dogs are not allowed there anymore. In the café, we could only sit in the coldest area with the dog. This place is NOT DOG-FRIENDLY.

Best 36 quid I e spent for ages. Grandkids loved it.

Fantastic! Really well thought out. We went on a wet day with kids of 3 and 5. They loved feeding the animals and cuddling the guinea pigs. Lots of animal interaction sessions all in one place. Great indoor and outdoor play areas with seating for adults. A coffee bar by the indoor play and undercover picnic tables in the outdoor area. Cafe serving really good food. Highly recommended.

My son loves it here, we have annual passes which are great value for money! Not too big and overwhelming for little ones which is ideal. The play areas are great fun!

Occombe is very geared towards small children and I would not recommend a trip as a couple or adult only group. It’s not that it isn’t pleasant but you will be surrounded by a lot of kids! I went with my son and partner and had a pleasant time looking at the animals and feeding them. They have goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, Guinea pigs, pigs and donkeys. There is an inside area as well as a path through an old orchard with the majority of the pens. The tickets for admission are expensive. £10 per adult and £7.50 for kids over 3, under 3 and they enter free of charge. This is my main complaint, however, it is ran by a charity so perhaps the knowledge the money is going to a good cause is enough? The farm shop itself is pretty disappointing and asides from one chilled counter, which to be fair does have some nice bits in it, only sells long life items. To my eye Occome is really a petting zoo/kids experience with a farm shop tacked on. I can’t imagine, judging from how empty the farm shop is there is a high turnover of stock, hence, why they are not stocking much fresh produce. If you are looking for a Darts Farm style farm shop you will be disappointed! There are three cafe areas. There is a small one in the indoor play area so parents can get a tea/cake while the kids play. There is a second adjective the the farm shop which seemed shut during our visit in September 2023. The third and best is in a separate building and has a good selection of cake, toasted sandwiches, salads etc. we had a pleasant cup of coffee here.

What can I say! An absolute diamond of a restaurant. Fantastic food with a beautiful view of the harbour, from the terrace. Booked a late family dinner, for my wife's birthday, so we could we could see the harbour, bay and pier at sunset. Accommodated 5 of us, with ease (booked in advance). Service was great, polite and with a smile. Lobster was beautiful, plaice was divine and the kids loved their seabass and hake. All really fresh and cooked to your preference. I will definitely book again when we are next down their neck of the woods.

Not disappointed! Scallops were delicious . Three is the standard quantity in every restaurant I've ever eaten in and have paid a lot more for lesser quality . Main course was again cooked to perfection and could not fault it . Lovely selection of wines too. If you want cheap steak or large quantities the i suggest that you stick to spoons . I would highly recommend and will be returning on our next trip to Paignton

The big draw is the view, assuming that you reserve a window or outside table so you can see it. The food is decent enough and in good quantity, but expect to wait an hour for it (this was during Covid so there could have been staffing issues). The menu isn't huge and might be drifting a bit too far towards Michelin guide style for some. Quite stiffly priced, especially given that this isn't that expensive a town. If you're on a budget try the nearby Wetherspoon's.

Anniversary dinner, super location so far never been disappointed with food or service, keep up the good work

Had a wonderful meal here . . When we arrived other guests were moaning about the staff and the time it was taking to get their food .. no idea why! We were greeted with a smile and seated instantly. Our drinks were with us within minutes and our food was less than 15 minutes after we had placed out order. The food was delicious and the chef came to say thank you to us after we asked the waiter to pass on our delight and gratitude for a wonderful meal. Seated outside overlooking the harbour at sunset was just beautiful. Excellent place, wonderful food and great staff.

Booked in at 18:30 with a view to trying lobster. 2 caught fresh that day so was in luck. Food was incredible, the restaurant itself was lovely and the staff were fantastic. Only minor drawback was waiting around 45/50 mins for the food but is not a deal breaker about me recommending this place as a place to eat!

This restaurant has great food and THE best view in Paignton. As it was my first time visiting the area, i explored all around but always ended up coming back here for both food and drinks. Also, many thanks to Helen who was ever so lovely and very polite, making me feel comfortable and welcomed each time i went. Defo coming back here with friends next time i visit! I would recommend the sea bass for the mains 👌🏽

Very pleased at this exquisite restaurant. We were very well looked after and can recommend the fish and chips on the menu.The wine was a great recommendation and to finish the puddings were so tasty.Well.done to everyone and would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful restaurant. Thank you.

This is our favourite place to eat locally and it just gets better every time we come! I had the risotto which was so full of flavour, absolutely delicious & beautifully presented and the side salad which was so tasty with a lovely dressing, not like the usual few bits of lettuce and a couple of tomatoes that you get in other places. Other half had fish (hake) & chips & what looked like proper homemade mushy peas. Didn't have room for desserts but had them last week & they were moreish! As always, the staff were lovely & really looked after us 😊 Highly recommended

Stunning food, creatively prepared, using locally sourced ingredients. Had the scallops and lobster, both fantastic, and heard nothing but praise for the dishes other guests were eating. Lovely! Plus the mini desserts were a delight.

Great atmosphere, nice seating and great views all round. The staff there are passionate about their beautiful theatre. A cracking venue to see a show or comedy. Car park is a minute walk round the corner

Saw a terrific tribute to The Bee Gees last Friday at The Palace Theatre, Paignton. The theatre was packed to the rafters! Brilliant trio and fab musicians with them too. Great atmosphere throughout the entire performance.

What can I say. Myself and my husband renewed our vows here yesterday and it the most fantastic day ever. The photos from the theatre are amazing, the setting provided fantastic pictures. Melody, Clive and all the staff worked so hard to make sure we had the most perfect day and we appreciate it so much, all the little touches were amazing. Renewing our vows on stage was just magical and having the whole day in one place was so much easier, we got so many great pictures from all the different areas. The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant. Thank you so much love suz and matt xx

Went to see Agatha Christie's 'The Hollow'. Very friendly staff. Had excellent meal before the show at a reasonable price. Paignton seems to be a culinary desert so the meal at the theatre was so welcomed. It was good to see a small theatre so well attended.

Love this place, recently seen Paul Young here. Great little theatre. The staff are great ready and able to help with any needs. There is parking around the avenue buses and trains in town a short walk away from theatre. Enjoy the show

We were lucky enough to have both our wedding reception and evening party at the Palace Theatre. Melody the Wedding Coordinator was absolutely fantastic, and we were given flexibility to design food menus, use the theatre spaces as we needed, and decorate to personalise our day. The bridal party used the theatre dressing rooms to get ready in the morning too. Stage left was the perfect place for our party with a live band and a hog roast which all worked really well. The theatre staff worked very hard and made it very special for us. We had a perfect day in a wonderful venue. Thank you all so much!

I'm a little late with this one but very keen to review.my wife and I went to see Marcus brigstock and found that I couldn't fit into the seats as the leg room is insufficient for me I'm 6 feet 6 inches. Maureen found us seats on the front row very quickly and willingly and we enjoyed the evening enormously. She went way beyond good customer service so thanks to her we'll be back.

Great location and easy to park on street (pay machine). Staff happy and friendly. Nice clean facilities, only negative is £2 for a small bottle of water. Can have a free glass, but cannot take this into the theatre.

It is a small theatre and not quite what I'm used to. I have only been the once and the 5 stars are really for the amazing women's toilets. Could have stayed there being entertained by the wall coverings for ages. They play, too, was rather good.

Very nice venue. Was there to see the 'Buddy Holly and the Cricketers' a few months ago and then 'Double Death' tonight. Tonight they were doing a collection towards the theatre. Both productions were really good.

I was only visiting for a few days. It's a very beautiful place to go see the sunrise in the morning. Beautiful and peaceful. People are friendly too

Took the grandchildren up here a d they both loved it. A good run around and not too many other people here. Free parking on nearby roads or a pleasant, if a bit steep, walk up from Youngs Park. Fantastic views out over the bay. What is not too like about this little gem.

Lovely place to walk. Good views onto the bay. Fantastic cliff walk. Lots of places where cremated ashes have put in the garden areas. Lots of benches to sit on and read the brass plaques of the dead. Not so good at night. Nice coloured lights, however, a lot of path lights are not working.

Always have liked this area. We actually live in this location. Great scenic walks

Still a lovely place to if you like ornate gardens and tennis. Sadly the house is no longer open to the public and presently a shadow of its former self.

It's such a shame that this place has been allowed to fall into disrepair and be closed to the public, it could be a big tourist attraction.  I remember when Oldway was the place to be, it held many events and weddings, the marble staircase, ceiling and murals are stunning. I just hope one day it can be restored back to its former glory. There are volunteer gardeners doing their best to up keep the gardens, but it is a big task.

A beautiful park to go for a leisurely stroll or sit on one of the many seats available in the sun or the shade & admire the lovely lake, or the picturesque streams, there is a skateboard park as well as a children's playground area here too, whenever I visit, I never want to leave. Its close distance to the large multi storey carpark, Paignton shops & the seafront & Pier.

It's a nice place to bring the kids for them to burn some energy the only thing that needs improving is the installation of a CCTV system. There were at least 2 people that we saw doing drugs in broad daylight where there's always children about its not something that you would want your children exposed to.

A lovely walk through park close to the town centre, a big duck pond and a nice children's playground on location. It's also near the seaside front and Paignton pier (about a 5 minute walk). There are photos posted with this review, I visited during the winter months, can't wait to see it in the summer!

Great park, very near to the town centre, suitable for strolling around the pond or happy time in the playground for the children or active time at the skatepark for teens.

The last time I went to the park was when my boys were little,they are now grown men. it had changed for the better just a pity so many seagulls and pigeons around looking food food so leaving a mess on the benches that you can't sit anywhere to enjoy the sunshine

Lovely to see and feed the Swans. They loved the lettace leaves! The play park here is also fabulous for the children, when it's blowing a hooley on the sea front it's totally calm and protected in this park. A great addition is the little food bar, cafe, it's nice to get a snack meal or just a lovely cuppa, or ice cream. Some also enjoy the bmx/scooter park the field or the tennis courts Victoria Park has always been a little sanctuary to me, either taking my friend for walks in her wheelchair or allowing the grandchildren a great place to play. There are Tennis courts and a great skate park, basket ball, abs table tennis choirs too. Brilliant! VICTORIA PARK, A JEWEL IN THE CROWN of PAIGNTON TORBAY!

Stunning park, 5 minute walk from paignton beach/pier Including two skate parks, large kids play area and an ice cream shop. All surrounded around a lovely water featured "lake"

Walk here on days when the fields are too muddy. Lovely long beach and when the tide is put it becomes a huge space for the dogs. Amazing. Only down side is carpark can half be shut off when weather is bad and cost is going up all the time.

Nice place to visit just before holiday season. Good café with a toilet. Lovely field just slightly further along.

APR 2024 update: Just out for a walk, the beach huts are back. Carpark prices have gone up 2022: quiet, clean, a little chilly but a great place for a walk. Didn't go near the water just too ... cold!, Shame that we had to pay for parking, especially off season.

Lots of parking which is handy as it does get rather busy at times. The beach itself is okay, personally I think the place needs redevelopment but in a sympathetic way. There is also a nice walk you can go on across the grassed area with benches.

Used to love swimming from this beach but 2024 will be seeing our family going elsewhere. Not keeping beach hut either. Too many paddle boards with no safe area to swim in, also now getting speed boats stopping very close to tide line. Should be stopped as cove is too small for them.

This is a lovely bay and has everything you need for a lengthy visit. 2 cafes. Chilled atmosphere, lovely views over sea, walk over sandy beach. Tide reliant. People swimming.

Lovely sandy beach, large car park, 2 restaurants, clean toilets and a good view of the local steam trains. If you want a fresh pasty or sausage roll, get them early, as they'd sold out by just after 1pm. Definitely going back next week

Fabulous beach for small children and the cafes/bars are so handy - there are toilets and the parking is reasonably priced. If you want to swim, go around the coast a bit more (it’s too shallow on this beach)

Broadband beach was nice the only problem I had was parking as I have a 8 seater which has a roof box on as I'm on holiday with grandkids. The car park is for vehicles under 6ft 6in. It would of had 5 stars if I could of used car park.

Lovely beach and impressive scenery. Kids loved it - great for sand castles, quiet sea for paddling. Great cafe serving reasonable snacks for lunch. Steam train goes past every so often. There is an amazing viaduct a short walk away it's lovely to see the steam engines crossing. Another short walk to Ellbury cove which is also such a pretty spot.

Beautiful base to walk the coastpath to Brixham and to return and chill. Lovely views and friendly cafe. Nice to watch those daring to try the water sports.

Fantatic modern caravan and very clean. The park could do with a bit of an update but its functional and has everything you need. The onsite cafe was ok, although a bit basic and only offers bottled drinks, no draft. At the time of our stay the outdoor swimming pool wasnt open due to the site not having a life guard but this didnt affect us as we didnt plan on using it but others were not too pleased. Overall we had a lovely stay and would not hesitate to book here again.

Would be happy to go again. The sea, the local food, shops close by. Enjoyed a good weekend.

Caravan was gorgeous, lovely and cosy with the central heating on, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Staff on site were all friendly and helpful. Meals in the bar were nice although the menu was a bit limited. No direct access to the beach but site is central for many areas with lovely beaches.

Our first visit to this small holiday park, we were really impressed with the team working here, very friendly, helpful and kept the park and caravans clean and organised. Facilities were fine for us, with a decent pool, bar and cafe and right on the SW coast path so lots of great views and walking to nearby towns and beaches is possible. A nice part of Devon to visit, lively sandy beaches, coves and plenty of choices for food and entertainment whilst not feeling overcrowded when we went at Easter. Beaches are dog friendly too which was essential for us.

Freindly staff, caravan was clean and in a great spot to see the steam train pass. Don't worry this is at 10am in the morning and finishes at 6pm in the evening so no disturbance from it. Staff are friendly and welcoming however the entertainment isn't the best. The outdoor heated pool is warm and clean but closed at 5pm and you had to book a slot to swim. We would visit again and the views around the area are stunning.

Such a brilliant holiday park for a few days away. It has a mini park for kids to enjoy, a swimming pool for the family to enjoy and also a hot tub area to relax! A amazing bar and the entertainment was good on the night however it's not every night and selected nights it's on. The shop wasn't that brilliant however it does sell the basics eg milk and bread. But overall id give it 8/10 stars

I can not recommend Michael & Harvey's caravan any higher. A beautifully immaculate home with a large decked patio in a fantastic location situated just a few short steps away from the main venue and within view of the iconic stream train which runs a regular service across the front of the park. Communication with the owners has been excellent from time of booking right through to the very end, they have been prompt and precise in every effort. We as a family are more than happy to provide a 5*. Thankyou. G & family

The caravan itself was lovely and exactly as advertised. Pet friendly but you wouldn't know it. Nice and clean. So no issues there. We are a young family and I wouldn't recommend to other young families. Ok if you purely want to use as a base. This is because the entertainment wasn't great. Went one night and then didn't bother again. Outdoor pool was lovely though. We were able to use once before it shut for the season. We knew this though and this in no way impacted our review. I was a little dissapointed in the site mainly and lack of good entertainment.

Fabulous location. Great bar and food. Most enjoyable experience.

Very nice and clean site but on site entertainment is very limited. Shop is small and mostly carries gifts (rock, novelty etc). On site pool was fairly small and you have to book in advance, also passes for swimming were extortionate (£25 pp pw) so not worth it in my opinion. Caravan i stayed in was clean and tidy and worth the money.

I have stayed at Waterside holiday park several times but tend to use it has base to visit the local area and visit family the location is great and the accommodation is clean and comfortable.

A small, standard caravan park with a fairly new bar/ deck area and (small) inside pool. Caravan was as expected: basic, but clean and a good base for activities in the area. Added cute benefit of having the steam train pass a few times a day. There is access to a couple of small coves. A few things lacking, but really good value overall- very low price.

Lovely staff very friendly and helpful , the bit of entertainment that was on was brilliant but there was only entertainment on some of the time and not every night. Very quiet and cosy on the site but swimming passes are very expensive, but they are optional which is good!. Tiny shop in the reception area if you need essentials and it has direct access to beautiful coastal walks.

Just completed a 3 day stay here, in no 85. First of all I've got to give a special mention to Sarah behind the bar couldn't do enough for you. Always happy to help you with anything, nothing was too much trouble. If this lady isn't manager of the resort she should be. The place was a little quiet but kept very clean! The new facilities were nice, pool, bar etc. If you're coming here and expecting loads to do for kids then look elsewhere unless you're willing to travel and take you children out. Have seen a few reviews about kids being bored but there's plenty to do outside the place. There's a small park on site a nice beach and a pool. If you're children are bored that's your fault there's more than enough stuff to do in the area. On a whole, great weekend away friendly staff, nice walks and will be back.

This was the quieter of two sites I have visited in the last couple of weeks. I stayed here with my wife and disabled sister and our dog Chloe for 4 nights in July. The van was clean and tidy and just across the road from reception and the indoor swimming pool. I do t think there was any evening entertainment but the cafe and bar was open each evening. The swimming pool needs to be booked in advance and sessions were only 45 minutes. The pool is very smart and has a lifeguard. There is also a hot jacuzzi area which is lovely. The pool was quiet each time we visited and some sessions had nobody in at all. Everything is clean and well looked after and the lifeguard was friendly and helpful. The biggest plus for me as a train enthusiast is the Dartvalley steam railway which could be seen from our caravan :) I’ve included some photos - of the trains! There is a lovely area fir short walks under the railway tunnel and by the sea. Highly recommended as a quieter site with a lovely pool facility.

Great beach for a beach day. It was very busy when we visited but it has nice beach huts and a food kiosk. Could do with more food and ice cream stalls in summer.

Nice little secluded beach, you can take a walk on the beach, but watch the tide times so don't get cut off, mostly can take dogs but double check dates. Make sure you take poo bags in case your pet "goes".

This is a lovely beach quite safe for familys as the beach just slopes gradually so no shelf to deal with 2 pubs for food paddle boarding available here too. Couple of kiosks for snacks and ice creams, go karts and a small water park.

Beautiful area but yet again no disable access to the beach. Don’t Torbay council want disable people visiting their area. Certainly will not be returning. Hotel was great and mobility friendly but area definitely NOT.

Really nice beach, well catered for and serviced. It's almost there it just needs a few final touches to give it a 5 star

Lovely little beach. No pebbles, great sand for kids to play on. Rock pools nearby. Little waves. Only downside was the amount of seaweed in the sea

This place was good as the cliffs looked good and got lots of pictures. There were lots of beach huts next to the sea and the smell was amazing. Would recommend.

We visited Paignton for the half-term and one of the activities we enjoyed was a boat cruise from Paignton to Torquay. It was beautiful experience, we could see and learned from our host about some historical landmarks like the singer family home, the Grand hotel used by Agatha Christie for a wedding anniversary, a few of the harbours , it's a children and dog friendly beach. Good for going for walks or run. We could see the beach from our apartment. We hope to visit sometime next summer.

Beach houses all along the side at the top of the pavement. All different colours, and different coloured lights which light up at night time. It is a lovely walk heading up to paignton beach.

Nice long sandy beach, we stayed on the quieter side of the pier where the beach huts are mainly. Great surf but shallow a long way out which is good for kids. Lots of little ice-cream and coffee trucks around and nice little play areas along the esplanade. If you want crazy golf and fun fairs there's more going on towards the pier.
