Best place in chur to visit, lots of restaurants at top of the mountain with nice view

Used the tourist voucher for 50% off the tariff 👍2 cables cars to the top stop is midway. At the top it is well sign posted signs for walking and cycling. Well organised staff and efficient service.

Fantastic , in fine weather in summer .Setup for hiking mountain biking etc . Winter sports too . Take a jacket as it can get breezy . Beautiful spot , we took a picnic from the local supermarket .

Definitely take this to the top of the mountain. Fabulous views of the city and alps! There are two restaurants at the top that were operating in the January. You might want to check if they are available in the summer. There wasn't any waiting when we were there but a local told us the mountain bikes train here in the summer and there is a wait to go to the top. We purchased tickets at the bottom and there wasn't a wait in January. Guessing there will be one in warmer seasons.

A lovely and easy ride up the mountain can be had from the station in town. There's not a lot to do on the mountain other hiking, biking anda couple restaurants, but the views are very nice.

We only had a one-night layover and this is what we picked to do. No regrets. A bigger ski lift down the bottom to get up than a smaller one to the top. We enjoyed playing in the snow and walking around. Great views

$18 euro for roundtrip. Plan on an hour with 15 minutes at the top for pictures. Even better if you have the time ski, toboggan, snowboard or hike down the trails.

Awesome place, Cable car team is very good and supportive. This place is easily accessible from Chur city. Breath taking view from the top.

If you travel from the train station in Chur you can either walk or catch a bus that will take you there in 5 minutes or less. In about 20 minutes you will have reached the summit. You can enjoy the view (the city of Chur, Pizol, Rhine River). Great place for winter sports as well. The staff was very friendly!

The buildings already are fascinating to visit. Collection has a few surprises but might need a bit more excitement and adventure.

Entrance fee is 15 chf, reduction for seniors. Apart from the excellent Giacommeti and Kaufmann pictures there was "art" in the form of toffee furniture and a sea of rice mounds. Prepare to be freaked.

Amazing museum. A must visit place when you're in chur. The architecture is stunning with classic and modern constructions combined. There is also a Cafe in between the garden. The surroundings are usually pretty crowded (manor is nearby). The museum has such an amazing interior aswell as exterior architecture.

Great gallery, in very modern setting - old part has some lovely impressionist paintings. Not expensive, lovely restaurant.

Stunning architecture and an impressive collection. Really the must-see in Chur. Especially enjoyed the opportunity to get to know some more Swiss artists. Note that the audio guides are free with informative contextual insights that actually enhance the experience (unlike so many art gallery audio guides!!)

Great architecture and views. The museum itself is very small (but large given Chur's size) and is 15€ per person. Some of the exhibitions were... Disappointing but overall worth at least one visit if you enjoy architecture!

I found the architectural features of the new building to be as fascinating as the exhibits. The stairways, foyer and room transitions are extraordinary, especially as you make the underground journey from the new building into the old building.

The church of Saint Martin in the center of the city of Chur is not as spectacular as it may seem, but the colorful fresco window on the inside and the organ on the front are new. In particular, this church is much nicer than the circular staircase at the door, when you climb to the right a little to the right of the entrance to the church, and the view from the back (clock tower is visible). Although there are not many Korean tourists in Kuwait, I think it is a characteristic village and a lot of things to see in every corner of old town in Switzerland. I was really impressed by the chur church that stopped by at the peak of the Glacier Express train. Simply spectacular train journey. Highly recommend for visitors and for the locals too. Train staff is very friendly and helpful. We got complimentary chocolates and ice tea on the train as well. I chose to give 4 stars due to the state of the toilets. If this is sorted, it would've been 5 stars surely!

It would be 5 starts but the entree (chicken) wasn't very good and they spooned it out of a large terrine into your plate on a moving train, which caused sauce to get spattered on multiple guests. I'd say order from the a la carte menu that doesn't need to be planned in advance and skip the multi course meal. The train ride itself was stunningly beautiful.

Once the train arrives, they have a couple of signs places by the doors to indicate which cart is which, and the inside they have their numbers for the seats by the windows. The employees are very helpful throughout the whole journey and, give you some info on the journey along the way as well. You can also sign in to their wifi, and listen to their guides in other languages too to continue with more information! Beyond that, there is not much else that can be said other than just sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights along the way! Have a glass of wine while you're at it too! Pro tip. Please be respectful of the other people on board, and try to keep conversations within a reasonable level, and maybe not use a selfie stick the whole time swinging it around like crazy.

A magical vacation in Switzerland. I’m happy we decided to add this to our itinerary. We spent over 7 hours of viewing bridges, tunnels, alps… It was a bit confusing buying tickets online so we visited the station in person a day before. I’m happy we did that as we may have booked another route. Thanks to the guidance of polite staff, we were able to decide on our package.

A terrific and recommended experience. The trip over the Alps is constantly scenic. The train is comfortable. Service is terrific (although the food can be a bit expensive.) A relaxing and gorgeous way to enjoy the lovely Italian and Swiss scenery. Note: One must buy BOTH tickets for the train AND seat reservations.

Really great experience. I am just impressed by the engineering work behind. Just think about, that the construction started over 100 years ago. The service at the train is also just great. You can get some local snacks and wines. In the end of the trip, we got some Lindy hearts in a nice metal box in the Bernina train design. Really great price for the value you get.

Journey from Chur to Brig.. specially went train takes you to straight in Glacier..plz train name is glacier so it's minimum expectations. The advantage we think is that it was less crowded, and one could open the windows to take better photos. Also, we could get off and back on as we wished. My wife and I heard many things about the Bernina Express from friends and other sources and we decided we wanted to experience it ourselves. We booked our trip a day before we were supposed to fly back home, at this point we were very tired but still wanted to check this off our bucket list and let me tell you it is definitely worth it. We started our trip from Tirano which is approximately a two hour drive from Milan and our end destination was St.Moritz. In the meantime we witnessed the beautiful landscapes that Italy and Switzerland had to offer and it was worth our time, money, and energy. On the way to Switzerland, we sat in first class and on the way back we sat second class. To be honest, I didn’t notice any big differences between the classes except for the type of quality of seats you sit in. Other than that everything else was amazing.

Purchased our reservation for two in December 2023 for our trip in March 2024. Right side of the train is definitely better in case you’re wondering, though it’s difficult to tell which side of the train is the front when you reserve your seats. Our journey began in the old town of Chur, Switzerland en route to Torino, Itsly. Outside of the train there were markers indicating the car number so be on the lookout as it is made quite clear, otherwise you may be standing in front of the wrong section. Plenty of luggage and baggage space at the front of each car and also between the seats (Swiss design and practicality on full display). Our experience began with an unpleasant tone as two European travellers attempted to steal our reserved seats and pretended like we were the wrongdoers. When asked for them to kindly move seats they asked which seats we reserved which were clearly the window seats with tickets to prove. Turns out these two had a return train (taking the same route on the same Bernina Express but in first class) so clearly they weren’t oblivious to the concept of reserved seating but that’s life.. some people try to take advantage of others in the most peculiar situations. As the journey commenced we were presented with views of the beautiful Swiss countryside. Green hills and mountains in the backdrop. Couple hours in we were in disbelief as we journeyed towards higher and higher elevation towards Grum Alp and close to a glacier town. The climate was vastly different and we entered a literal blizzard. How the trajn managed to get through this journey without a single hitch or delay left us in utter disbelief but again that’s that Swiss engineering on full display. Views were immaculate throughout the journey and the staff were also very friendly. Near the end of the trip they presented every passenger with a tin train souvenir in the shape of the Bernina Express filled with Lindt chocolate alongside a boxed herbal tea drink. Funny enough these are items you can purchase on the train worth a per passenger value of 15 francs each. Very generous! Overall we enjoyed the journey and spectacular views!

The ride over Albula and Bernina Pass is really breathtaking. For us four hours of train ride were okay, three would be perfect, but its like this. It's quite a long ride but because the nature is so beautiful, it's never getting boring. The only negative point is, that the seats are quite narrow and small. With long legs its a little difficult.
