It's a serene place and most famous tourist destination in pokhara, as a traveller I really love the environment the lake has, I visited it on different times of the day, early morning it's calm and beautiful, day time it starts filling with people and gets crowded, many people love to hire boats and visit the temple which is right in the middle of the lake and also to take a pleasurable ride around it. It's a fulfilling experience. Boating with family, friends, solo anything is rewarding. People wave at each other and click pictures and share a smile across. The tourists are amazing as well. Early morning I saw many tea and snacks sellers. The market has changed so much at lakeside. There are many trekking supply, pachmina/ cashmere, Jewellery, antique, book, clothes stores there as well as the number of restaurants serving various cuisine has increased. The old/ new, tall hotels and buildings can be visible now, mostly in the alleyways of the other side of the lake. The number of bars and pubs has opened and serve live music there. So if you enjoy it you can choose any of them. They also designed a pavement for taking a long walk along side the lake which is a good step I feel, there are many street food or restaurants there as well. Night life by the lake is worthy. Take a stroll and eat your favourite food from Chinese to Tibetan to Nepalese to anything else they serve. They also have permanent fair called Disneyland pokhara, we enjoyed the giant wheel ride it overlooked whole lakeside. In the evening we witnessed the barahi temple Aarti, it gave the vibe of Banaras ganga ghat aarti, and it was a different experience for me aa well as I saw it happening for the 1st time. Everyday at Lakeside is great. There is a positive vibe. While wandering in the morning I took a ride and walk from one end to another of the locality. I visited the gardens, temples alongside and clicked a lot of photographs.

You should definitely go to the lake. But if you are staying in Kathmandu and going to Pokhara, you need to take the 9-hour stabilized H04 highway. There is road construction work. Unfortunately, it is an extremely uncomfortable and dangerous journey. Drivers in Nepal are very experienced and skillful. His skills have improved in traffic jamming. It is necessary to travel this road to see the villages and settlements on the road and to better understand the culture of Nepal. It is very nice to enjoy canoeing on the lake. Please choose the evening hours to go. You can see much more beautiful views.

This is such an astounding place. If you want a place to relax, Pokhara is the place for it. As for the Lakeside, you can go boating, kayaking. There are many things to try in terms of food. One of the best moments for me was sitting in front lake and enjoying live music in middle of night. Its a kind of place where even strangers feel like friends.

It is a very beautiful place. The best time to visit this place is winter. Take the boat and drive to the farthest corner of the lake where you can get a view of Annapurna range if you're lucky. It was a wonderful experience to visit the famous Phewa Lake beside Pokhara city, Nepal. It was approximately a 200KM journey in 7 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We stayed at a lakeside 3 star hotel which was cozy and comfortable. The lake has a beautiful view. We hired a boat to go to the temple located in the lake. There are lots of birds to feed. There are some statues of hindu deities. We move around the lake happily.

We were blessed with beautiful clear skies. And we saw the mountains in different lights from morning to night. Beautiful. The lake canoe sessions are a must if in the neighbourhood. The Phewa taal mandir in the island in middle is also stunning.

This is the most beautiful lake and largest lake of about 7 lakes on pokhara. There is a thal varahi temple in the middle of lake. One has to take a boat to reach the temple. Boating facility is very well developed in this long and vast lake. One side of the lake is the pokhara city and the other side is hills covered with dense vegetation.

A good place to visit with the family and friends. Totally peaceful place where you can enjoy the boating ride and in the middle of Lake you have temples where you can do puja and click photos.

Phewa Lake is lovely. We took a boat across the lake from Pokhara NRs 1260 pp to visit the temple on the lake and the World Peace Pagoda at the top of the hill. This place is just WOW!!! One of the best destination for local or international tourist. Really enjoyed the great time here for 3 days. We enjoyed the bungee jump from cliff,boating at fewa lake and the most beautiful adventure was paragliding at the near Himalayan range. They provided the great a great packages for the tourist and probably the best hospitality. This is the one of the best place to visit once in a life.

This is one of the famous lakes in Pokhara. There are ferries to various places including Tal Barahi temple. The ferry ride on the lake is pleasant. Total ride takes 1-1.5 hrs including 30 mins halt at the temple.

The peace which you get after climbing to almost 500 steep stairs is matchless. Surrounded by the ecstatic Annapurna ranges and the beautiful inexplicable view is matchless. If you are driving your own vehicle be prepared for a very very steep route. The roads are in good condition but if you get stuck on a high inclination use your handbrakes efficiently. Overall its a nice place to visit

Beautiful and peaceful place. On North side you can see the view of Phewa lake and Pokhara city as well. Can reach there by bus, taxi, or any vehicle and even can hike to there.

Be ready to climb 480 steps (960 return trip)! There are many souvenirs shops along the way to the pagoda. However, all that climb is worth it after you reach the site. The view along the way is also spectacular! No video recording is allowed in both the outer and inner side of the pagoda. Once you reach the inner part, you need to take off your shoes. Admire the serenity around the place, you can literally hear the sound of nothing. Very peaceful. I heard lots of locals visit the pagoda early in the morning to meditate. Sunrise views will be unreal from this spot. Offer your prayer in the main altar or offer a donation if you want to. If you're like me and like to do what the locals are doing, take 3 rounds of walk around the pagoda, clockwise only. This is believed so that we don't go against nature.

Very beautiful stupa offering peace along with majestic views of spectacular mountains sparkling like diamonds and beautiful view of Pokhara valley. Security personnel seem trying to maintain peace by alerting people time and again but few people were still noisy. Specially when group of teenagers enter the peace is disturbed.

We took a small boat to cross the lake which got us to the bottom of the hill on top of which the pagoda seats. There is a long staircase going up through the forest, a very nice path to take although it can be slippery when wet. From the top you're supposed to have a great view of the mountains around, unfortunately it was cloudy when we went so we didn't see much but the view of Pokhara and the lake was nice. We went to a restaurant next to the pagoda for lunch and that was lovely. Must be even better with a clear view!

Peaceful place, nice tourist attraction, beautiful location must visit. Complete pokhara city is visible from top. With clear weather complete himalayan range can be seen.

It is calming and soothing to be here. It is well looked after but need further attention as the paint that was painted last year has started to taint on left side of pagoda. I love all the seasonal flowers that are planted on either side of walkway towards Pagoda which gives you sense of beauty in nature. Again getting here is an issue especially for less able bodied people ,and there is no public transportation, if there is one ,it needs to run more frequently.

Lovely and clean stupa with an amazing view over Pokhara and the mountains. It is a nice place to meditate and find peace, especially early morning. In the area are also a few lovely restaurants where you just can sit and enjoy the view of pokhara. I can spend hours up here.

This is beautiful place to visit in Pokhara. It's located on good height and roads are good. You can drive there by motorbike or car. If you are trekking lover then you can walk up there. Don't Carry heavy baggage. The mountain views are just stunning from it's view point.

Beautiful and peaceful area at the top of the hill to see the World Peace Pagoda. Good place to sit and watch the town below. Highly recommend if you're more adventurous to do the 2- 2 1/2 hour depending on how fast you are from Lakeside through the town and through the village towards the hillside. If not, take either the boat from Lakeside and get dropped off at the other side and just hike up to the Pagoda. Or take a taxi and walk up 10 minutes to the top.

Very peaceful place with stunning views of the city. There are only couple of similar Pagodas in Nepal so its a must see when visiting Pokhara. There are quiet few steps to make, takes about 10 min to get from parking. Few souvenir shops and cafes on the way

Very nice and peaceful place. A bit simple for my taste, you have to be quiet and take off your shoes before entering. Otherwise, nice views of the lake and the possibility to see Pumdikot. I recommend going out by car, it is quite a difficult hike on foot.

Peace and wonderful views. I recommend taking a boat from Lake side and walking up through the woods to the pakoda. For most part of the walk there are stairs. With kids it took around 1 hour to walk up.

Name appropriately describes the place, the place has zero noise policy, it is a pin drop silence kind of place. It is at a peak, we get a beautiful view of pokhara city from here. Though we need to climb mountain for around 15 minutes to reach here. Highly recommended place to visit in pokhara.

Visiting the World Peace Pagoda was a serene experience. The majestic stupa emanated tranquility, surrounded by lush landscapes. It's a profound symbol of peace and a must-see for cultural explorers.

Mini hike to get there once the car stops. But passing through tranquil. Forest and entering the stupa brings a sense of tranquility. (for the believers) Stunning flower gardens and majestic views of mountains. We went in the evening of a relatively clear day. No regrets.

A hike leads to this Pagoda. Footwear are to be removed outside and you can't talk or make noise when near the Pagoda. The guard will shush you if you make noise. Not much to do here but it's peaceful and you can spend some time sitting or walk inside the premises. The hike back down has a few cafes & small shops on the way.

Beautiful and peaceful place,you xan arrive by bus,taxi,or from the lakeside take a boat and them 45 minutes trekking you will arrive and in the way you rnjoy the lake and Pokhara view

Davis falls are surprising as they are unexpected to be located inside the city. During dry season the water is pretty low compared to monsoon season or wetter days so the water levels can be lower then pictures can display. Entrance fee: 100rs There is also a wishing well (with a good game), small Buddha and explanations of the site (name origin…) The view is limited if the water levels are low so it could be disappointing if you have already seen other larger waterfalls in the past. The site was named after a Swiss citizen lady who died falling in the waterfall and her name was Davis.

No doubt place was full of natural beauty and water fall forms a tunnel after reaching the bottom & had great sound but we were expecting more . Entrance of this place have beautiful shops where we can buy even using Indian rupee no need conversion. It contains small park and sculpture with Nepali traditional attire where we enjoyed the most by clicking pics.

Good visit inside. There's a traditional costume photo zone. Friendly people. Too many houses and too much habituated surrounded the natural zone.

Lack of cleanliness. The falls is not very special and not much attractive. If you have never seen any falls than you may visit. I loved specially taking pictures in Nepali coustumes.

It is waterfall, famous in Pokhara. If it were not monetized for entree, it would have been amazing to witness nature in its own. Water which is overflown in Fewa lake is opened through dam near this waterfall so extremely heavy waterfall can be witnessed here. Sometimes when dam is closed during summer and winter, you will not be able to witness any water here.

Beautiful Natural fall with sad history!! It can be upgraded. Walking paths can be made premium and attractive. I also found trashes thrown near by walking paths and corners of hill. Either do-not allow food and beverages or place dustbins by the side of walking path. Charge fines with those who throw litters.

The real view of this fall is from the temple just next to his fall because it goes into that cave which is million year old although its a new fold mountain cave but it's still too historical place to visit and where Davis fall meets its end it is clearly visible from the depths of caves end Going in is easy and remember it has some very steep and tiny walkway in cave but it's fun and you might feel some exertion while coming up from cave because of less oxygen in there and wait outside if people are more in the cave because you may feel oxygen imbalance

First of all I want to share that this is not a fall as its name signifies. It's been a fall Earlier but currently it's not. If you have free time and you have explored everything in pokhara only then you can try, otherwise not

It's a place for photo shoots! With the traditional nepali clothes. The water fall is way too far and just a small spot in the area. The overall park is good though.

This fall is the main attraction of here otherwise summer house, Nepalese attires statues, lord buddha, are also here with tourist tickets and some small shops. This fall is flowing very fast with loud sound safety measures are there but be attentive with the children. In summer house it is very cool to sit and relax, also can pose under different Nepalese attires. Small idol of goddess in water on which one has to throw coins and can ask the wish.

There isn't much to see especially around summer. It has been same as it was 14 years ago. They haven't used the money gained from ticket sales towards developing and modernising it. It's just a small waterfall which has unfortunate origin story that's all.Not much to see here. It may not seem much for some people 40 Rs ticket to get into it but once you go inside you are left hugely disappointing. The park isn't maintained at all ,the grass around the peripheral have grown a lot which blocks waterfalls' view.

The best time to visit this place is in rainy season or then the level of water in higher at that time the real beauty of this place will be seen told by some of local people of that place. But when I visited even no more water level enjoyed a lot and capture beautiful pictures of natural sciences and historical and cultural photos shoot spot available and in this park wind house Hawa Ghar is also unique

Went with a friend to the International Mountain Museum. It was nice and clean. The workers there were friendly. We had a good time. There was a short film we watched there and then we saw all the things that were on exhibit. There were some very beautiful images of different mountains and other in which all the peaks were labeled. They also had some unique and beautiful furniture. I recommend anyone that is interested in nature and mountains to go.

Additionally, incorporating augmented reality (AR) and other immersive technologies could create a more interactive and engaging experience, allowing visitors to virtually experience the thrill and beauty of mountaineering. Overall, the World Mountain Museum serves as an informative introduction to the world of mountaineering, showcasing equipment and providing glimpses into the challenges faced by climbers. While there is potential for growth and enhancement, particularly in providing a deeper understanding of the trekking experience and incorporating innovative technologies, it remains a worthwhile visit for those interested in the history and allure of mountain exploration.

A nice place to check out the different cultures of Nepal. Lots of information of the geology, flora and fauna of the Himalayas. The section on the different mountaineers and the peaks was the best part for me. The hourly video on the Nepal lifestyle is worth a ton. Outside the main exhibition, the Gurkha village house is a must see. The small hill climb is a fun activity. Be careful about some slippery areas though.

The museum features paintings, photographs, mandalas, statues depicting nepali demographics, actual equipment used during expeditions, information about mountaineers and sherpas, maps of different mountains, different fossils and stones etc. There's a restaurant beside the museum for having meals. A place you should visit in Pokhara.

Its about mountain people of Nepal, their hardship, culture and the geology of the region with little display about mountaineering. Worthy lessons could be sought by climbers who wish to accent the holy peaks of Nepal. However, it is in a dire need for renovation, maintenance and new ideas. Lots of information is misleading or insufficient about people of Nepal. The displays could be made without spelling or grammatical errors. A huge management weakness is obviously reflected. Restrooms are not world class. They were smelly, leaking and unlit. If we want to attract world class visitors we need to act like one. Tremendous effort might have been put in during its establishment. Very sorry to say that the management or caretakers must be immediately held responsible for not maintaining the standard! 😡

The museum exhibits all information about mountain, mountaineer and their gadget, dress and useful thing like coat, jacket, shoes, hand gloves, sleeping bag, camping tent and many more things. The museum also shows documentary on mountains. The museum is well maintained and labelled detail information. Highly recommended place for visiting.

It's beautiful! If you want to learn more about the mountaineering, this is the must visit place for you. Apart from that, there are many more to explore to understand the cultural differences in various regions of Nepal. This place is also a perfect for a family trip. Amazing details on mountains, expeditions to conquer the summit and other areas. It has details of different tribes in nepal and their culture as well. Situated in a green and beautiful compund, it conveys the same sense of calm that you get to see throughout pokhara. There's a nice cafe also within the compond where you can get masala chai, cappuccino, sandwiches and even lunch. Beer bottles are also available there. Nice place to visit.

Two stars for the idea and concept of this museum: show all about Nepali mountains and people connected with them. But the exhibition is boring, badly shown, dusty with some of the text captions almost impossible to read (small font far away) Also no air conditioner makes it hard to breeze inside on the hot day after 30min… Overall, if it’s rainy and you have nowhere better to be, may be worth some of your time, but otherwise don’t bother

Good place for people interested in trekking. Really liked the way trekking is explained here as a subject. Though place was almost empty, we enjoyed our time here. Got nostalgia of geography studied in childhood.

My visit to the International Mountain Museum was enlightening. The museum houses a wide variety of exhibits from ancient times in Nepal, including a fascinating rock and fossil collection. The movie on Nepal provided valuable insights, and the displays of garbage disposal from Mount Everest were eye-opening. Overall, it was a great experience that enriched my understanding of Nepal and its culture.

Good Place to acquaint yourself with the mountaineering in Nepal. They have a Entry Ticket. But they accept only cash. Only 100 rupees notes from Indian Tourists. They show a short movie about 20 minutes duration. This is about lives of local people and various peak in Nepal. Very big and may take a long time. So plan accordingly. Museum has some actual equipment used by mountaineers.

This is a beautiful and ancient cave that depicts Hindu Mythology. It is said that Lord Shiva used to meditate here. The caves were so beautiful it's an must visit place whenever you visit Pokhara, Nepal.

If you have 30 minutes at hand, you can visit this cave. It has a paid entry ticket. Not much here but you can go inside the cave and explore the entire cave pathway. There's a small temple inside and the pathway leads to the cracks where you can see the waterfall. It's dimly lit and you need to mind your head at a few places.

Not that great if you are claustrophobic, as the tunnels to get to the main cave are super narrow and a little crowded, but well worth it as the cave itself is enormous and spectacular. The temple outside is also extremely beautiful. Taking off your shoes appeared to be optional, honestly, the floor is super wet, so if it's the weather for it, perhaps flip flops would be a good choice here.

No photography inside the cave is allowed. It is a very steep stairwell to bottom of the cave so be prepared to sweat a lot! They close the cave if there is construction above ground or if there is rain. Very cool to see the ancient structure and the temples inside.

Inside the cave is very wet and moist. It almost like rains inside the cave. My coat and hat are completely wet. And it doesn’t smell good inside the cave so l wouldn’t recommend to stay too long.

Disappointing to visit this cave. The cave is converted into a religious place and the sanctity of the natural place is gone. Plastic pollution is also there. In fact not much of actual cave is visible or directions are given. Just collecting cash for building a religious place.

I read information it is the longest cave in Nepal but just went inside a little and finished. Have 1 Temple and short walking to see a part of Davi Fall. Ticket 100 rupee. On our recent visit to the cave, it had been renovated so much and it looks amazing. There is no photograph inside the cave but you can take pictures before you enter the cave. There is an entrance fee and the pathway towards the cave is full of beautiful sculptures. As you enter the cave you can see the how amazing nature is and as you you go deeper down the cave becomes smaller and you need to bend over and some places the tunnel gets smaller so it’s a little scary as the people don’t follow each other but try to overtake as they are in hurry. Wear comfortable shoes as the water dripping in the cave makes it’s slippery too. The view of Davi’s Fall from the cave is another mesmerizing view to watch for.

Beautiful place, and the temple, in mid of a beautiful lake. Crowded place, and there was no parking facility as well. No one to assist you or guide you. The ticket counter was closed for the boat, but the boat owners were roaming around and asking for the cash payment.

It is small but popular temple located on centre of phewa lake in pokahara. One has to buy to and fro boat tickets for shared ride to the temple or hire an entire boat and reach there. A temple situated in the middle of the famous Phewa lake. You have to take a small sized hand boat to cross the lake to visit the temple. Rs.105 per person to & fro, to be paid after reaching the island. Also Rs.10 for a life jacket. The temple appeared ancient, though lot of crowd, still was clean & well maintained. The priest applies a bit red kumkum & rice teeka on all devotees after darshan. There are seats to sit outside the temple, a shop for instant photo counter, a souvenir shop on the island premises. Was crowded when I visited on a Tuesday morning at 10am.

Please make sure that the road construction work is completed before visiting Phewa. In short, I guess you don't want to spend long hours 200 km. It's not a place worth all that effort.

The Gurkha Memorial Museum's main theme has to do with the history behind the military efforts in Nepal. The Nepal Gurkha soldiers are part of the British Military for many years and it has been reported that the Gurkha soldiers are some of the fiercest fighters in battle. The museum has a collection of all sorts of historic Military items - guns, rifles, uniforms, the famous Gurka knives and many photographs of places where the Gurkha soldiers had served. Quite interesting history of this military force from the past to the present day. Better to die than be a coward, is the Gurkha motto. Their history attains to that. Long may they have the welfare and care of those who respect them. This museum is not the most attractive but has an absolute wealth of information and artefacts which would make it an essential visit for anyone with even the slightest interest in Nepali, British, Indian or general military history. Spread in 3 floors, this museum showcases the history of gurkha regiment. Their uniforms, medals, weapons and all communication instruments used by them during history.

Wow. I grew up with the Gurkha’s guarding the British embassy. They were so nice, polite and reserved but one knew they were not to be trifled with. Serious and honourable. What a privilege and honour to come and learn their history. Spent a good hour going through the three floors of the museum. Loving every moment learning about them and developing even greater respect for these amazing soldiers. If you come to Pokhara this is a must!!

Ram Shah The palace with historic, archaeological and religious importance was built by Ram Shah, well known for his judicial reforms, in 1666 BS. The reconstruction work has been halted for the past one week owing to the shortage of timber. “Some 150 cubic feet timber and 32 wooden pillars are immediately needed. Historically, the terms "Gurkha" and "Gorkhali" were synonymous with "Nepali", which originates from the hill principality Gorkha Kingdom, from which the Kingdom of Nepal expanded under Prithvi Narayan Shah.

Wow! The gorkhas are so brave. Disappointing to know how they were used by British in almost every war they fought, with India, with Japan and etc etc. I thank the good Lord for having not born in a period where kingdoms especially the British were power hungry and destroyed many countries. Last month, I was in Europe, where I could see the devastating effects of ruthless leaders and world wars in Germany, Austria, France and Italy vividly than the rest. Nepal being the 20th country to visit, yet again I hear the ill-effects of British greed to rule the world. Gorkhas were used by British East India company, against Indians to suppress mutinies. It's so depressing to see how sister ethnicities were used against one another, a trademark of British' 'Divide and conquer' strategy. These times remind us to be grateful for current times in a way. As someone who has both Indian heritage and a little bit of British heritage on my mother's side , I was conflicted in seeing these. Human greed, wrath and pride are extremely dangerous!

I loved this museum, as an ex British Forces person the information in the museum was fascinating and the museum is 3 miles from the city in a more traditional area with many cafes and shops.

Took 4 hours for a 90-second ride. Not worth it. You have to wait for others to finish their other activities as well. Return bus was dirty and no AC.

Had the best experience of my life in adventure sport. My 12 year old son and I did Zipline here. The Zipline is the tallest, fastest and the steepest in the world. Initially I was very unsure of doing it. But highland managed the whole thing so efficiently, that I became comfortable gradually and did the stunt. They pickup and drop to and fro point of action and from point of landing to your hotel and the ride and carriage is very comfortable. The back end team is also efficient. They did video recording and photography of the event and very prompt in sharing those high quality videos and pictures. Overall a 5/5 experience

Do it! DO IT! this was fantastic, the team picked us up from the hotel, we were a group of 6. We were the first people at the location so hardly any waiting time. The team was excellent with customer service and all safety information. I felt at easy from the get go. The views...WOW. As u zip down u see the valley and its beauty, as the top was foggy we could see the mountain peaks but it was still a great experience. One I wouldn't mind doing again. You can also do bungee jumping with this guys. And one of our group members did it and he loved it. Its cheaper to book with them direct. They have a office in lakeview pokhara. Have fun!

Beautiful temple of Mata Vindhyavasini situated at high level hill giving beautiful view of the valley and the mountain ranges. Very much celebrated by locals as you can see a large amount of devotees.

Nice Temple. Not very crowded but quite popular. We saw many weddings taking place there. We took some photos of wedding Ceremony but not posting here to maintain their privacy. Happy to visit. Entry free. There is an office where you can donate and obtain a receipt. They don't accept credit cards, only Cash.

Historic temple located in the central of the city. Shiv and Mata temples are historic. Visit a viewing gallery locate in th temple premises and chances of you getting a glimpse of majestic Himalaya range is high on a very clear day.

Very beautiful aura of this temple located on hill of lord Shiva with a long trident over there, Slight hilly stepping of stairs to visit temple but needful and senior citizens can go through lifts for free otherwise fees charged for others. Very amazing site with different small temples dedicated to Ganesh, Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma... On Saturday, many people come to pay hommage to the deities. Vibrant with a lot of candles and incense sticks.

A beautiful temple of goddess Bindhya Basini Mata, built like a mountain peak (Shikhara style) is the holiest site for Hindus in Pokhara. It is located near Baglung Pokhara highway & just opposite of the road going to Sarangkot. Temple is built on top of a hillock; one has to take the stone steps form north or east side; recently a lift had been added for seniors & disabled. Ganesh, Hanuman, Shiva & Saraswoti temples are within the premises, a hall for bhajan& a book store selling religious books. Northern view of Himalayas & southern view of city is beautiful.

Small and beautiful temple on the hill. It is a very peaceful place to visit in the morning. There is Shiva and Vishnu temple also. They played nice Nepali Bhajan on speakers which added to the ambience. Elders above 70 years of age can avail free lift to avoid climbing the steps to the temple. Others can pay for this service. Stairs are also not much and can be easily covered.

I went around 2 o'clock. It was least busiest that I have ever been ti this temple. It was good experience for a change as I didn't had to wrestle through crowd of people to worship.

The temple can be quite packed and can be cold in winter without your shoes on but the views here are great. The actual temple itself was only mildly interesting but I was glad to have come here and saw these fantastic vistas.

Just nearby the Mahendra cave of Pokhara, another tourist site drawing many visitors. Thousands of bats were seen clinging on wall & ceiling of the darker cave. There was separate entrance and exit. Entrance was big enough but exit was less than two feet high; one had to crawl out of the entrance. We enjoyed our adventurous exit from very narrow space.

It is also known as the Bat Cave. The cave had a lot of bats over walls and ceilings. The path of the cave is very dark, so it's advisable to carry a bright beam torch. PS: your mobile flashlight won't be much help. Also, the entrance can seem a bit scary but it really isn't that scary inside. However, watch your head and steps.

If you love the adventure, it's a best place to visit. Firstly you have pay some amount for entering and if you have student cards, who will get discount in it. While entering you can use the stairs and you will be provided battery lights to enter the cave as it is dark inside. You can find the bats staying upside the cave. It's better not to make loud noises because bats may get disturbed and may also attack you. So, be careful not to do so. For coming outside, you have to find the way inside the cave. The ending Destination is little bit upside. You have to climb the rock and to come outside you have to be in sleeping position and crawl to come outside. If you think you would be able to make it, you can use the entrance way to again return from it as well It is also believed that people who can make through the ending small exit, they have not committed the sin. Don't know it's true or not but it's a belief. Hope you enjoy the place. Remember lights are given to the group and not to single single person. You can also use your mobile flashloght as well. And don't make loud noises inside the cave.

The cave is small, and the people are noisy. A couple of westerners were shouting and the local guides were encouraging it, they were also flashing bright lights directly at the sleeping bats. The exit is narrow and a bit of a climb people get lined up as it takes time for the exit. It’s a good visit but the crowds spoil the experience.

It was a very fun and exciting cave in Pokhara. It's very big and wider as compared to other caves in Pokhara. Don't forget to light up in the cave to see the thousands of bats. And try to get out from the other end which is more adventurous.

One of the good cave .Mow there are very small no of bats inside the cave.The exit of this cave is very small and a bit difficult to come out.wet and slippery.

I imagine that this cave probably should be made off limits as an important habitat for bats, but it does as you’d expect from the name. I’ve never seen so many bats in one place from up close. I was able to get out the small exit but it was quite a challenge and needed some climbing and use of all my hands and legs. The final hole to get through is tight enough too.

It is a really amazing place . It can be called Bat Cave in English. A very deep limestone cave. No natural or electric light. It helps make it a friendly environment for bats. The stone roof at the bottom of the cave is full of bats. They are a small species of bat. Beautiful limestone patterns can be seen on the walls and roof. It is your responsibility to be quiet and not to shine unnecessary lights. The way out is very small and very difficult. It will be an adventure experience. Also I emphasize to get the help of a local guide. They charge about 300 Nepalese rupees. They will give you an unforgettable experience.

Side bars were so loose and slippery, people stressing out everywhere. I know it's a part of the thrill, but still, one woman fell right beside us coming down. She might have broken her bones. It is so dark and scary. There's a very little chance that you would get out from the ending hole. The place was hot and humid inside, and we started sweating. They offer a torch light.

Very crowded place inside a cave. You may skip it if you have any constraint. If you want adventure you may venture for entrance/exit other than designated one. We have made ourself out through a small slit and lots of fun in it. There is one temple inside the cave.

The cave itself is not that bad. Nepali people at the entrance will give you a torch and automatically start telling you something guiding you though the most iconic (if I can say like that) spots of the inside parts of the cave. There you'll need to climb and cralw what will give you some kind of emotions and make you really filthy. However the most disappointing part is awaiting for you in the very end. Once you step out of the cave and wash your hands entrepreneurial Nepali guide will tell you to pay for his service definitely not letting you know in advance! Make sure he'll ask you at the entrance where you are from. UK? Europe? Best of luck They do try to tell you that they usually take 8-10k rupees for guiding, but only for you it's 2k. Don't be frivolous to give even that some of money. 200 rupees is the max if you want to thank them. If you don't - just go away.

This is a rare example of a cave system with stalagmites and stalactites in Nepal. This Mahendra Cave is 200 meters long and 660 feet high and thousands of tourists visit this show cave every year. A statue of Hindu Lord Shiva can be found inside the cave. This cave is named after Late King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. The cave was discovered in the 1950s by young shepherds grazing their cattle. A detailed survey was carried out in the 1970s by a team of British speleologists. *Why was Mahendra Cave named after late King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev? •The ancient name of the cave was 'Adhero Bhavan' which literally means dark abode. The then ruler late Raja Mahendra Veer Bikram Shah Dev reached there immediately after reading the name of this cave in a Newari Language Newspaper.

This cave is a cool place to check out. The cave has interesting shapes and pathways, giving it a mysterious vibe. Going inside feels like a little adventure with dim lights making it even more interesting. If you like nature and exploring, it's a unique spot in Pokhara to visit.

The cave is rather short. This cave Is easy to walk with family than Bat cave. The entire cave can be completed in 15-20 minutes. It was a nice experience and the cave has been provided with lights within. The floor is rocky and can be slippery if wet. At the end of the cave, there is a priest who chants some mantras for the well being of you and your family..

Honestly if you are into caves, this is one of the best caves in Pokhara. You must have a guide to take you through the other route which is really narrow and tough. The regular route is quite simple, but the other route is really really tough. I wouldn’t recommend this to any older people, or children. The tour guide can take only 4 people max at a time. Its best if you take your own torch, cos this route is dark and really tough.

Suru hote hi khatam ho gaya!!! It's ridiculous.. it was just a 2 minutes' walk inside the cave, and we reached the end. I suggest to all visitors to skip this one and just head towards Bat Cave.

Neat And Clean area Good Place For Tourist and Boating

We did a 8 day tour with polar trekking. A friend in the group had used them 6 years ago so we went with them again for our 8 day circuit around Annapurna. Our guide was Amit the co founder of the company. We were very well looked after from the pick up at airport throughout all our stays and during the trek. We truly felt in safe hands. Amit was super patient accommodated all our requests and adjusted plans as necessary when one of the group missed a connecting flight. Some of the hotels were closed in off season and he adjusted the plans to make us as comfortable as possible. I can’t recommend this company enough. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody visiting Nepal.

Amit organised a really nice six day trip to Khopra Danda for us. From the pick up at our hotel until we stepped off the 4x4 car in Pokhara it was perfectly planned and executed. We were taking care of by our guide Nabin. He is super friendly and energetic and knows a lot about the mountains, the villages around the Annapurna range and the history of Nepal. We weren’t able to ask a question he couldn’t answer 😅 highly recommend Polar trekking! Thanks again Amit & Nabin 🙏

My girlfriend and I found Polar Trek in the internet planning our trekking in Himalaya many months before Flying to Nepal. We chose them among at least 20 other agencies both in Pokhara and Kathmandu. The communication via e-mail was very efficient and easy: they replied always prompt and were always helpful and polite. At the end we also asked them to organise for us the safari in Chitwan Park and the transfers from Kathmandu to Pokhara (flight) and from Chitwan to Kathmandu again (by private car). Everything worked smooth and for us the whole experience was great. We had the trek to the Mardi Himal Base Camp: Amit (our guide, also the owner of the agency) and Bejay (our porter) took care of us completely. They were very organised and at each camp where we slept we were welcomed as friends. Moreover, they explained us a lot about habits and the life in Nepal / the Himalayas, the plants, the animals and the nature in general through the whole walk. The tour that Amit planned for us was simply breathless, full of lovely landescapes and completely surrounded by the nature. Beyond words the view on Annapurna South, Machapuchare and Mardi Himal on day 4th and also the last day of trekking. Amit guided us through rice fields and for the whole day we met no other tourist and just a couple of people. Simply wonderful. Amit and Bejay are very nice persons: they are very very polite. One can really interact with them in a nice way, talk, learn and become friend withouth feeling “pushed” or “bothered”. We had really a great time with them and for sure we will go back to the Himalayas in the future and we will rely on Polar Trek again.

I recommend Polar Trek extremely enthusiastically. Across the entire experience with Polar, the service exceeded my hopes and expectations. Beezay was my guide and helped ensure a trek experience to Mardi Himal (Feb 2019) that I will never forget. Mostly, he made it extremely easy for me to enjoy every aspect of the trek! He arranged every tea house reservation, he handled all communication with the tea house staffs (meal orders, payments, WiFi password, etc), he pointed out wildlife and pants/trees along the way, he provided Nepalese history and more. But mostly, he was so enthusiastic about doing the trek - his energy and positive attitude helped me enjoy it even more - within a couple hours, we struck a great rapport and were sharing jokes and personal life stories. He’ll continue to be a great friend! On the compulsory guide stuff, he nailed it - he knew the path and every little shortcut, he consistently paused to ensure I was making it through obstacles successfully, and he communicated and confirmed with me the adjustments we made along the way to our original plan. As for the Polar office service (Keshav and Amit), it was incredible! Very clear on cost and general overview of the five days, pointed me to a rental shop for my gear - they even booked my flight ticket back to Kathmandu, after Beezay phoned them from the trail on our return journey with that request.
