(Translated by Google) (Review from September 2021 that I don't know why it was not published)
We are scheduled at 9:55 a.m. at one point. We arrived ten minutes early and there is no one from the organization there. At 9:55 a.m. we receive a WathsApp saying that they are going to arrive 15 minutes late. 10:30 a.m., they appear 35 minutes late, which means that we have been waiting 45 minutes on an esplanade, and that either the duration of the trek will be reduced, or we will not reach our reservation to eat, as finally happened.
They get out of the vehicle and begin to ask for the money for the excursion, without any apology or explanation. Stunned. Our turn comes and I tell him what I am saying, and that he will not expect us to pay them 100% of the excursion if the company does not comply with what was agreed. He tells me that it is what it is, that it is the price of the excursion that we are going to take and that we take it or leave it. Strain. I have the money in my hand and I tell him ok, but of course we are going to tell what happened.
Turn of events: He tells me not to pay him anything, let's do the trekking for free. I tell him no way and I 'self-apply' a 20% discount insisting that it is not acceptable to start an hour late. Although the worst was yet to come.
The fact is that they take out a map and begin the explanation in Spanish. Then they do it in English. Then in French. And everyone standing there looking like cows at the train. We finally start walking exactly an hour late but we stop after a few meters for a new explanation, now about mosses and lichens. My irritation is already amazing. And so is the whole trekking, although later the stops become more spaced, plus once you start to ascend, see craters and the overwhelming surroundings, you use the minutes of translations into other languages to make videos and photograph the spectacular landscape.
The tour is well worth it, but I only see tripling the explanation time as positive for the company, which can bill more in one day. They must correct this or make it very clear, because they are not going to comply with the established schedules, as happened to us.
In short, a 3 and a half hour outing that IN THEORY WAS GOING TO END AT 1:30 PM, between delays and translations, WAS LONGED BY AN HOUR AND A HALF AND DIDN'T FINISH UNTIL 3:00 PM, completely disrupting all the plans we had made afterwards.
The place and the trekking itself 5 stars, the organization in our case was not up to par.
To finish, I would like to say that, looking at the reviews here or on TripAdvisor, no one points out anything similar, so I suspect that exceptional circumstances must have come together that day that prevented the day from being round. Constructive criticism, we have to give it a look so that it doesn't happen again. And if it happens, first you apologize, then at the initiative of the company and not the other way around, financial compensation. There is no other.
