Me and my mate visited the grand bunker and wasn't disappointed. We parked our motorcycles inside the grounds tucked to the left. Cars have to park on the road but i think there was restrictions. It has different levels in the bunker with plenty to read up on and see. It's all lit up well and no dark rooms if you don't like that sort of thing. You can climb a metal ladder to get right on the roof. Toilets are located on ground level next to the huge gift shop. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. It took us about 45 mins but we did hurry as time was against us.

Excellently preserved Command Bunker with many authentic fittings and equipment remaining. Good displays telling the story of construction, use and its capture in 1944. Not suitable for wheelchair users as only access is by stairs. Small gift shop and toilets at entrance. On street paid parking nearby.

The Grand Bunker of the former Command and Fire Direction Post has been completely renovated in order to house a Museum entirely dedicated to the Atlantic Wall in Normandy. Great museum with a nice display inside and outside, downside to busy in the high season and paid parking.

Possibly the most intact version of a German bunker that remains in northern France and well worth a visit. With a great story as to how it was taken by allied forces to bott this is on the must do list. The climb to the top is worth the view if you can brave the metal ladder!

During my D-Day tour I did visit the Le grand Bunker. When you walk towards it you can't believe that there is such a massive bunker in a nice and quiet street. But our of the sudden you will see this massive block of concrete. Around the bunker they put some armoured trucks and tanks. But the most interesting part is the inside of the bunker. Most of the original signs are still on the walls and they also show you how the Allied forces managed to breach this bunker. The battle damage is still visible. When you are not afraid of heights you need to see the roof of the bunker. The museum does not have a parking but it is possible to park in the streets in front of the bunker. here the parking is free and the tickets are affordable.

Good little museum, illustrating German life when the bunker was occupied. Small gift shop. Can get quite busy. No car park, so on-street parking. Allow apx 90 mins.

Absolutely worth a visit. It looks small from the outside but it takes quite a while to see all the displays inside and navigate all the way through this monster of a bunker. Some of the displays could use an update of the somewhat outdated mannequins but overall the displays were very good with lots of interesting background information.

Great attraction that looks virtually brand new- you can see they've spent a lot of time and money on making it perfect. - Tall people beware the doorways are quite low. - Lots of original uniforms and equipment. Everything is written in English and French so you can spend a fair amount of time reading the history of the place. You can access the bunkers roof and look at the perfect vista of the coastline- you can see why they put the bunker where they did. Great attraction!

Very interesting. A great place to visit. Only issue was it is very small in areas and there was a school tour there who were squeezing in despite the small space which other visitors found very claustrophobic. Maybe big groups should be let in in stages but other than that it was a very interesting place that we enjoyed visiting.

What an amazing historical time piece ! The range of information and artefacts available on display will leave you a full understanding of what was happening in Normandy and the build up to D-Day, well worth a visit….although the German military probably never expected so many French and British tourists would one day be exploring one of their bunkers !!

I absolutely loved walking around the bunker, taking all the history in. Make sure you go all the way to the top to appreciate the view as well.

Interesting building but poorly set out museum with random information and no ‘journey’ through the rooms etc. They let way too many people in so the cramped conditions of the bunker mean the whole place smells of armpit / sweat. Left after 15 minutes.

Ouistreham was a pleasant surprise on our Road Trip through France. Loved the location, our holiday home, found an amazing restaurant (Le Phare) and a brillant bakery. The town has also a very charming walking street. It's leading to this wonderful beach here. At the busiest point (where the walking street leads you) it has some market and food stalls, some games and rides and a big ferries wheel. You can rent some gear for some beach and watersports as well. The beach is really wide and long. Very clean and well taken care of. Lots of life guards on duty makes it a safe spot. What lifts it from good to great is the wonderful boardwalk here leading west. It goes a long way, an easy flat walk. Suitable also for strollers, wheelchairs. And dogs too (not on the beach though in high season). You pass some charming beach huts and a good handful of very interesting war memorials. Take your time reading the info plates. There's something to learn. A great beach. Something for everybody. For beach bums, sporty people, walkers or history buffs. A great place to be. Came here every day before dinner.

Great places for wind surf and all other wind sports. Will definitely come back with a better planning for activities. Great beach with large tide and history as well. Nit much sun in August was disappointing though.

We arrived to find we were a week earlier than we booked? What a mistake to make that I’m sure we will laugh about for some time. Nadia was fantastic, she sorted it all out with a smile and a laugh. What could have been a big problem when the hotel was very busy was nothing to worry about and our family holiday was saved. The hotel and spa facilities were very good as well and we all had a lovely time.

Searching for a hotel in Normandie (during peak season on 1 day notice) with a pool and not too far from a Tesla Supercharger (Caen) we ended up here, in a "dunes view" room at Eur 179 incl. breakfast. Great experience: friendly staff, nice clean room with great view (dunes, beach), good breakfast, nice terrace with dunes view and good drinks service - and of course the wellness (indoor pool) area. An outdoor pool would have been nice as well, but you can't have it all. With Ouistreham being quite central in Normandy (somewhere between Honfleur/Le Havre on one side and Saint Mere Eglise on the other side - with all the D-Day beaches and memorials nearby, we view this as a good place to be for a 4 day Normandy stay.

The meals are excellent !! The room is good and of course it's covenient to have your hotel and your spa in the same buildings..

I really enjoyed our short visit to Casino Barriere, Ouistreham. Doubled my money on the roulette wheel whilst my wife trebled hers. Mind you with a bottle of red wine (the cheapest) costing €38 we certainly needed to win - that's alot of money. White was a little more reasonable but still not cheap, not even really that reasonable. Turning €20 into €44 & €20 into €60 was rather enjoyable. Nice surrounds and a great location, really easy to find, and right next to the beach. Bright lights & atmosphere late into the night🌙. It's not big & is fairly busy, even quite late into the night. Good fun though as long as you don't lose your shirt 😉.
