6 am walk provides a clear view and access to the Old Town area without hassles. Day is reasonable, evenings and weekends busy but not hectic as in previous years. Love this area, and having a polite and friendly approach with the local people will reward you with many lovely memories

Oh my! oh my! oh myyyyy!!! It was closed for renovations but it didn't stated on Google map nor official website, total harassment for me and my wife😰 Should have more information on this through the tourist info web. Besides on this, It's a very nice attraction to photo taking & a MUST to visit in HoiAn.

To me, this place is one of the most beautiful in the whole region of Southeast Asia. Even more beautiful than Suzhou in China. I was really amazed by the old architecture and how preserved it is. The atmosphere with the river, floating boats, and lanterns that are everywhere is just simply amazing. Worthy of spending here even a few days instead just of a night. Thank you😍

This place is a spectacle. I went there alone for a walk and i feel i can go there everyday and never get bored of the beauty of this place. Also, buy some good leather goods. Generally, the prices are 1/3 of what fhey offer. E.g I got a bag for which i was quotes 1.3 mil Dong for 380K dong. Also, if you are with your partner, do take a lantern boat ride, it is something.

One of the major spots in Hoi An but it was walled off when we went and covered so we couldn't get a front view but able to cross over. Great architecture and a symbol of Japanese trade relations

Not worth to go to see the bridge at the moment as there is nothing to see. It’s currently under preservation, however, I didn’t see anyone working on it. If you wanna entere they even ask for ticket. Hoi An still beautiful just disappointing with all the street vendors trying to hard-sell boat trip, paper cards or whatever nonsense.

If you are after a quiet, out of the way place with no tourists, this place isn’t for you. It’s crowded, bustling with energy, and it all somehow works. If you are first time visitor to the city, strap-in and pay a visit. It’s a must see once in your lifetime kind of place.

If you ever happen to stop by in Da Nang, don't hesitate to visit the next best tourist spot in Hoi An. I drove in a motorcycle for about 1 hr to get there from Danang. It was all worth it.

The first time I walked this bridge was 2015. Hoi An was very different back then. Smaller. This wqs before all the tourism ad campaigns. It was before the pandemic too. Lots has changed since then. And like so many things, the bridge is currently under construction. Honestly I'm super happy they finally decided to redo Chua Cau. It needed. With thousands of people walking over an unreinforced bridge every day, I'm amazed it has stood strong for as long as it has.

The bridge is under maintenance, so nothing much to see, super disappointed. One can buy a ticket n take the temporary metal bridge to go up the for a better view of the current status but, this is all that is left of the bridge as of now.

Beautiful beach and white sands. It's very chilly to spend a relaxing afternoon on this beach. There are many visitors but it's not overly crowded. There are also many restaurants along the beach and the food is delicious too.

Lovely warm water, recommended come in morning or noon rather than late afternoon. Good to negotiate if you are regular 😉 customer will get free of charge for each chairs even you don't order food.

Great beach. You can go several meters into the water standing. Sometimes the waves can be a bit rough but usually you can swim pretty easy. If you want to avoid larger crowds of people you can just walk down the beach and find a good place for yourself.

Awesome beach with kilometers of sand. Perfect for the sunrise because of facing East but also worth for sunset. The location being close to Hoi An and with parking for bikes is perfect too.

An easy trip from Hoi An and nice beach, places to eat, swimming and generally pleasant place for an afternoon of chilling out. Although we had to push my wife in a wheel chair following her breaking an ankle. So maybe not much swimming for her.

Very nice beach. Much more relaxed than many other beaches. Needs a bit of a cleanup in some places (take your garbage with you!) and could use a few more water activities, but we were also there right after they reopened after Covid.

It is a nice beach but with a fair bit going on. You can relax in a deck chair, hire a boogie board, get food or a drink. The beach is good rather than great but is long and clean. It was a good relaxing experience to explore and good for people watching too. Worth a visit if in Hoi An

The place is so beautiful. The beach is clean and the water is blue. You can lie down on the chairs and watch the sea or go and take a dip in the water. We stayed back to watch the sunset and it was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever witnessed. The sky turned into beautiful colours 🥹 you can find many cafés near this beach so make sure you check them out. Don’t miss this beach on your trip to Hoi An. 🌷

Lovely beach with plenty of bars/restaurants to get a drink or a bite to eat. We cycled there few times from our hotel. Roads are cyclists friendly, takes 20 min to get there. Highly recommend 👍🏻

Nice, clean beach with umbrellas available to rent. I think we may have paid 100k each, but it was hot, they were comfortable and the lady wasn't pushy. The water was cool and refreshing and it wasn't too busy. Plenty of cafes and restaurants around, and the ladies will bring you drinks.

A really nice beach. Can't believe how warm the water is. Plenty of places to buy food and drink from aswell. If you want an ice cream walk down the road about 3 minutes and you'll come to a proper ice cream shop that does waffle cones for 20k and 2 scoops of a flavour for another 20k. Much better than 30k ice cream on the beach front. Note the picture is already half eaten :) Sunbeds are available, but you are better off buying a cocktail and getting the sunbed for nothing 👍

It was quite dirty and faded in my eyes, I imagine it was lovely 20 years ago. A definite Backpackers feel to it. The atmospheric haze didn't help. Still could be used for a drunken 4 days with detox hangover in padded deck chair.

Nice beach with free scooter parking at the entrance, be careful of those ladies in straw hats trying to wave you down to park in their cafes. The restaurant owners will try to charge you $50k vnd to use the beach chairs however the beach is very nice with plenty of shops and stalls around.

Great location to visit now, because it looks like it could get swollowed up by high rise development in the next decade. Currently small rustic restaurants and cafes right on the waterfront and plenty of hostel/ homestays to stay at. Stayed 6 days all up, and would definitely stay again, if it doesn't get over developed.

Really good beach to relax and take a break. It was clean and not too crowded. There were no showers available but it was still a great experience. If you have to park a scooter or bike, a guy will charge you 5k for the "service". Do not pay more than that.

Being from Western Australia I’m a brat when it comes to beaches. My experiences with SE Asian beaches did not give me a good impression of beaches outside of WA and I was reluctant to spend the morning sitting on a deck chair staring at the water. My partner however convinced me to go as she had been there before and she assured me that it’s a good beach.. and indeed it was. The water was cool, clear and refreshing and being a 35C day there was not a better place to be. The hotel pool was warm and full of people but here, you have views which are picturesque to say the least, with a huge selection of beachside bars to choose from. What I like about this beach is that it’s not polluted and teaming with motorised watercraft. It’s peaceful, tranquil and you can order a cocktail, beer or coffee to sit and catch some sun then dive into the cool water of the sea. Highly recommended to spend the morning/afternoon/evening especially if your hotel runs a shuttle bus to the beach. I believe they have happy hour and live music in the evening as well.

A little bit dirty, probably because of stro g waves and wind. Nevertheless, we enjoyed walking on it - long, interesting views,many restaurants and bars to grab a coffee, beer and relax, while listening to sounds of the sea. At the end, local gym:) there is a parking you have to pay at the entrance but you dont have to use it. We arrived by a bicycle and left it a bit further

Fun sandcastle building! Public access beach, not crowded, had volleyball net and lifeguard the 3 beach hawkers are quite kind and chatty, not pushy for sales at all! We had a 90 surfing lesson which was great!!

Spend the day at Dolphin kitchen and bar by the beach. IReally clean facilities. It was just what the Dr order. When we arrived we were told we get towels, beach lounge, access to shower and toilets and free wifi if you buy a drink. We spent almost 5 hrs there . Went for a quick splash in the water, non patrol beach and surf is really rough so be careful, but it was worth it . The water was just the right temperature. Around lunch time more people arrived but heard employee telling them that for 1 drink they could stay for 1 hour with all the inclusions. We were not pushed to consume more drinks or food but we did end up having more than a couple of drinks and food to go with them . Got back to hotel feeling very relaxed. We got a grab from hotel to beach costing us just a couple of AUD each way.

Nice beach. Much nicer near An Bang than further down (towards the right. Opposite direction from DaNang). That area is quieter, but has a lot of garbage. Was nice to have some relaxing beach time without having to travel all the way to Phu Quoc.

a bit wavy, good for surfing beginners but not good for swimming. surf boards available for rental. lots of restaurants by the beach and they usually provide free sunbeds and beach umbrellas for diners.

Ok, so it $10 for a room. The rooms are nice, you even get a balcony, coffee maker and fridge. However, there is nothing around. Even finding a beach to swim in isn't easy. The local "town" is interesting, but it seems everyone wants to try to RIP you off. After wondering for some time a woman waves me into a courtyard for a meal. I sit down and get a plate of noodles, their was no menus, it was very informal. The lady wants 500,000 dong! After an argument etc, I walk down the street to get water, the lady there tries to charge 30,000. I start to leave and another lady comes and changes the price to 10,000, which is standard. Was interesting, even creepy, I was the only one in the hotel and the wind makes a spooky sound at night giving the feel of a haunted hotel.

Most of the beach is washed away from poor development planning. As you ride along there are derelict resorts. Don't waste your time, go a couple of kilometres to the north to An Bang beach.

I am very happy to see this place, it was a beautiful lot of shops. It gives us a vibe of the extravaganza every moment. I love the food and the ambiance in this place. Also, this is a Unesco heritage site they try to preserve the town's ancient beauty. Boating in the river was really fun. Overall a must visit place in our lifetime The architecture and ambience are magnificent. The whole place is vibrant with lots of activities. It is colourful, and lively.

It was pretty cool to walk around especially at night when it was all lit up and beautiful. There are many shops, restaurants and bars. We did buy some local souvenirs, had some happy hour drinks and took a lantern boat tour. It's a great place to relax and have a drink and people watch. We did not encounter any problems and everyone was friendly and not too pushy.

Just beautiful! A great street food experience as well as shopping for gifts and other trinkets to remind you of your time in Hoi An. Some beautiful art work, leather goods (custom made) and clothes made to measure. Don't be afraid to haggle. Bring your camera and enjoy it in the evening when it's at its most beautiful.

We only had 2 days in Hoi An so, we came out on a beautiful evening, around 5:30pm when the vendors are setting up for the evening. We spent over 3 hours roaming and eating and people watching in that area, strolling through the alleys, crossing the bridge and watching tourists bargaining and getting ripped off! Certainly filled with entertainment and good times! The alleys have many nice shops and food can be found on every corner at affordable prices. Bring plenty of cash! The boats are jam packed so, go early to avoid the long lines. They also have larger boats that would take you out for Sunset cruises. Beautiful place to watch the sun set. The lanterns do light up the river in the night and the views are breathtakingly beautiful in the evening. 3 hours do pass very quickly when you take your time to stroll through this amazing historic town.

It’s literally a magical place to go and visit during the evening. Set along both sides of a river and adorned with thousands of lanterns, it looks like a place out of a fairytale. There are amazing restaurants everywhere and I had the best meal of Vietnam there (look up on tripadvisor). Overall a great place to visit and enjoy the scenic beauty.

So beautiful here with the lights, people n atmosphere. So glad it did not rain n we went on a Sunday night n the bridge was packed with ppl. So taking pictures was a challenge but worth it. The shops specifically the roadside stalls give better prices for the local souvenirs n much more engaging n fun to interact with. There r boats to ride for a fee n the rest of things to do is sightseeing n shopping. Must ii place to visit

Solid five stars for the vibe here, chill, relaxing, and fancy, you may get better scenery during night time; short boat tour will be a must-choose option, it takes around 10 to 15 minutes (I highly recommend to try it at night!!); overall the experience was great except the part of food, the restaurant I went wasn't very well, but the environment was clean and tidy after all! If you're arranging or considering to visit here, please stay till 6 or 7, you won't regret the view 😀

Bright and colorful night market in Hoi An because of all the lanterns. You can find mostly food but also all kind of souvenirs and clothes, shoes... definitely worth a visit!

It was super crowded and tons of smokers. I loved the view, but overall people there are really not super kind, they just want your business and then they do not care about you. They are always pushing you to take a boat ride or to buy a tailored suit. But good food there, nice place to drink outside, good for young people ^^

There's nothing quite like this! We're from the US and can't think of any place we've visited in the US that compares - the colors, sounds, tastes, and smells are so lively and wonderful! The best way to enjoy it is by walking at your own pace turning up and down the streets and stopping in to enjoy things you may typically not splurge on (smoky ice cream, banana crepes, rolled ice cream, temporary tattoos, etc..) and be sure to pick up some souvenirs along the way too 💕😊

A really good experience walking around the night market. Plenty to look at. Loads of food and drink stalls and bars to visit. The pictures really don't do the lanterns justice, it's just awesome to see the boats and lanterns floating down the river. You can light your own one if you wish.

One of the highlights of any trip to Vietnam. Lanterns, lanterns and more lanterns! Besides that you have plenty of tailoring shops, leather goods, plenty of bars and restaurant from the improvised viet style chairs and table on the street to posh cafeterias. Being a UNESCO heritage site, it could be a bit more maintained, more trees to provide shade and more pedestrian streets.

This place absolutely has vide for fun night. It becomes so colorful due to lanterns, it looks amazing. There are variety of local foods and goods are available in local market. However it involves lot of negotiation. It will be fun to visit during Lantern Festival at this place.

Night market is close to river and overall it was really beautiful. But the prices were too expensive , you have to bargain hard. Luckily we went to Mr. Roll stall no 36. He was such a gentleman. He gave us very very good price and we bought lot of good items from him. ( remember you still have to bargain).

Beautiful evening here, even it's raining. You may buy the transparent umbrella from the locals (only 50.000 dong) & have beautiful photos with it. Please don't buy the raincoat, as my guide said it will be very hot inside & also it won't look good. 🤪 Nice if you ordered the coffee from Chu An cafe, enjoy the coffee & watching people pass by. You may lucky to snap candid photos of people around.

Hoi An gets even prettier when the sun settles, it is already a beautiful city at day with some really nice streets, but when the night arrives it gets better because of the many pretty lanterns getting lighted on land and on water. Definitely worth a visit, but also a lot of tourists here.

What was a traditional market, has been morphed into one designed to appeal to tourists. It's worth a visit though, as the sun sets everything lights up, the boats carry colourful lanterns, and tourists release candle lit lanterns into the water. It's very picturesque, and you will find plenty of instagrammers to prove it. I suggest turning up an hour or so before sunset, give yourself time to wander the markets. After sunset you can find yourself somewhere to eat, and a lot of the more traditional stalls close up.

Beautiful scenery with all the lights and lanterns! Not for the faint-hearted if you don't like crowds. Take a boat trip in the canal (best at night) to see all the different coloured lanterns. Lots of places to eat and drink. The markets generally sell the same items as expected, up to you to find the best prices. A variety of street food available at your own peril.

I loved my hoi an trip. Its beautiful, bustling with tourists, plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Their is a 30 min boat ride with lanterns with very nominal charges, u can even share the ride with other tourists. Many shops for souvenirs and some great local Cuisine as well. Its a must place to visit at night

The setting is beautiful. The market itself is a bit of a disappointment. Instead of selling unique foods and something authentic, the vendors hawk the same junky products from stand to stand and the girls who work at the massage parlors vie for your attention with "happy hour" sales on massages, to the point that it feels like harassment. This cheapens the whole atmosphere. If you can overlook this, the city itself is gorgeous and definitely worth the trip.

Having been during the day, we thought we would see it at night. What a transformation! One of the best nights we have had whilst in Vietnam. Laid back and chilled, walking the river front and buying in the market. Lots of stops along the way in some if the nicest cafes and bars. Finished of with a great value foot and leg massage. Very beautiful with vibrant colors. Lanterns 🏮 make this place unique and mesmerizing. This market has several local item shops including dresses, shoes, households utensils and sometimes low grade electronics products. Food carts were available and several restaurants and cafes were serving. Best part of this market was lantern boat ride.

Really cute night market area! Very lively! Not a lot of food but lots to buy. Definitely go for clothes or tailoring because there are so many cheap shops and the quality of work is quite good. They are fast too so you don’t need a lot of time. The area is not big but there are a lot of side streets so you can spend a good amount of time exploring. One side is old town one side is new. New side has “walking” street after 5/5:30pm which is nice. Definitely a must visit if in Hoi An…one of our favorite night areas to explore. Great atmosphere!

It's amazing . You can spend the whole day and evening there. Buy tickets . 150,000 dong per boat for 4 people. We went for a boat ride around sunset. The time that place looks amazing. The night market in HoiAn is one of the most beautiful night markets in SE Asia. Full of so many unique experiences and places to visit. There are food and drink establishments in every type of atmosphere. From Old World to high-tech nightclubs.. the market has something for everyone. At night the whole area transforms into a visual experience full of sight sounds and smells

This house was built in 1741 and reflects the traditional tube style house. These Vietnamese merchants were wealthy and had goods come from all over Asia, and it shows. The house reflects the mixing of cultures and international trade that went on in Hoi An centuries ago.

18th century merchant's house in very good condition. Not big but full of original features and furniture. Think there is a guide available but I was happy to just look at the lovely carved wood details and to see just how open air the lifestyle here is (surprising for a North European!) Open courtyard in the middle of the building let's the light flood in and marks on the walls show where the water floods in as well.

Over hyped place. Dont visit in the afternoon or in the morning. Please visit this place by evening. I have a sip of coffee at cong seeing sunset, then this place turns into something different with latern and lights. It was good to be there but too touristy

This temple is big in area wise when compared to the other temples in the town, with open gardens and two court yards one after the other. The admission to this place is included in the combo ticket purchased from the ticket centre located at two or three points in the town. The combo ticket allows you to visit only five heritage sites in hoi an town, if you wish to visit all the heritage sites in the town, you may have to buy one more combo ticket at the same ticket centre where you had purchased the first one

What a big area compared to the other temples, there’s old sculptures around. It’s a quiet and peaceful place till the tours come in

Another chinese clan association attraction which again is not a temple but a place to worship your ancestors who are placed here in the ancestors tablet room. It has nice classical chinese architecture. You need a ticket to enter the building.

Entry costs one hoi an old town ticket which you can buy at one of the ticket stations. This attraction offers a nice garden and pleasant building with praying altar. I recommend spending at least one old town ticket on one of the assembly halls.

This is probably the biggest of the clan halls in Hoi An. If you have run out of tickets, the garden at the front is nice enough and does not need a ticket when I visited. There was also no one to collect my ticket during lunch

Fujian (Phuoc Kien) assembly hall, identify by the mandarin characters in photos and on the entrances. Rather huge place for worship, and 1 of the recommended places to visit with Hoi an old town ticket. Best to read up online as you explore the place as there’s no context given. Can be done more than comfortably within 30 mins, or more if you choose to take shelter and hide from the heat here.

Is a must to see in Hoi An. A very beautiful and unique masterpiece. There's lots of people all the time there but the vibe inside is fantastic and it's definitely worth visiting the place.

If you get the tickets which permit entry to 5 different locations in Hoi An make this your number 1 spot. Truly stunning and impressive architecture which is well maintained. Like most of the exhibits the problem is availability of information, you need to consult Google or guess at the history of most of these sites.

A good place to visit... Tickets are a little bit tricky to get from the central ticket office. If you go in the evening it seems free and the mood is also special

Hoi Quan Phuoc Kien is also known as the Fujian Assembly Hall. It is the biggest clan hall and temple in Hoi An. We need a ticket from the Ancient Town admission tickets to enter. There are beautiful decorations inside the colourful building. It is also cool inside, just nice to take a rest from the hot sun outside. It is one of the must-visit sites here. Recommendable.

Totally worth it and it was a beautiful view, however if you’re here then it’s a perfect place to do all your shopping. If you’re planning for the coconut boat ride then don’t take it from road vendors, we ended up paying 120k dong instead of 500k dong just by going 10 minutes down the road haha

I loved this place! It is large, ornate, plenty of great photo ops, and beautiful flowers and vegetation.

It is a temple that is preserved for tourist visits. Design is similar to other temples from same era and similar culture. Quite grand (in a small scale) but nothing too exciting.

Fujian Chinese Assembly Hall is a well preserved old temple building in Hoi An Ancient city. It is the largest & beautiful among the bunch and decorated with colourful sculptures & intricate carvings.

You can visit by buying the 5 ticket tourist pass that costs 120.000. I enjoyed the various places that I visited and just stumbled across them really and used Google reviews to see what they were like. There were some interesting art and sculptures in this one.

There's not much activities on the island itself, joining a snorkeling/diving tour is quite fun. The scenics are great and if you like to chill at island's beach, this is a good place. It takes around 1 hour to reach the island from Hoi An by the slow big boat, can get seasick easily but cheaper. While the smaller fast boat takes 20 minutes and more expensive.

A beautiful island near Hoi An City of Vietnam. Has a very interesting history of its origin and rule over the years. One can try water sport activities like Scuba Diving & Snorkeling here with their friends and family. To reach to the island, a speed boat is used which is covered from roof. One can get mesmerizing views of sea from the window. At the beach they provide you with sea food both veg & non-veg as per your comfort level.

One of the most beautiful placs Hoi An is Cu Lao Cham Island. This picturesque coastal spot offers a chance to visit stunning beaches, lush forest, and a cute village, making a day trip to the island really worthwhile.

I was visiting the Cham Island with my wife with a tour group from Vientiane capital of Laos. We traveled there by bus which taken times almost 24 hours. We all were tired apparently but when we got there our fatigue were gone, we were obviously enjoyed on the beach, swimming and diving to enjoy corals and sea life

480k/pax for a tour including snorkelling, lunch, motorboat from/to the island. 800k more for scuba diving (about 20 minutes). 200k more if u want them to take photos for you. People r nice. Worth trying. Came here in end of March. Weather was wonderful. Must try grilled sea urchin and grilled squid on the island sold by locals. The diving price here seems to be the cheapest among the islands allowing diving in Vietnam.

Let me tell you, escaping the bustle of Hoi An for a few days on the Cham Islands was pure bliss. Don't get me wrong, Hoi An is enchanting, but the islands offered a different kind of magic. The journey by high-speed ferry was a breeze, the ocean spray and salty air a welcome change. Hòn Lao, the main island, is where we set up base. It's small enough to explore by motorbike in a day, with hidden beaches, quaint fishing villages, and enough fresh seafood to make your tastebuds do a happy dance. We rented bikes right near the harbor, and it was so liberating to just cruise along the coast, stopping whenever a beach looked too inviting to pass up. The snorkeling was another highlight. The water was crystal clear, teeming with colorful fish and coral reefs. We even spotted a playful octopus! It wasn't the most luxurious trip, but that's part of the charm. Simple bungalows right on the beach, evenings spent under the starlit sky with the sound of waves crashing in the background - pure relaxation. If you're looking for fancy resorts and a party scene, this isn't it. But if you crave a back-to-nature escape with stunning scenery, delicious food, and friendly locals, the Cham Islands are a dream.

I love Cham Island for a weekend getaway. I spent 3 days and 2 nights there to enjoy the slow paced life. It's literally slow, especially restaurant services. The food was cheap, fresh and delicious but I had to learn to adapt with their lifestyle. It's the same across 3 restaurants I've tried there. Please expect to wait at least 30 mins for your dishes. Bai Xep is my fav beach - quiet, raw, no restaurant or any services, perfect to my liking. Otherwise, there are more activities at Bai Ong or Bai Huong. One downside of this trip is the speedboat. I went with Cu Lao Sinh Company. The service was not really organised. The staff looked overwhelming. I didn't receive the info which boat or gate I should be at. The driver is the worst part. I believe he was speeding both ways which is not safe at all. I talked to a few friends and this is quite common for the boat operators speeding as they are familiar with the route, which isn't convincing me at all. Safety first! I love Bai Xep and the people at Cham Island and would definitely go back only if the speedboat service is improved!

Wonderful island with views of pure beauty. But for the lack of hotels, you may consider whether staying overnight is comfortable.

Really nice place for snorkling. We booked a day trip and were e really pleased with the trip. Scenery was just great and it was easy to reach by boat from Hoi An. The trip itself took maybe 60 min and was very relaxing. We visited Cham Islands in late June and it was not crowded at all.

Cham Island is a pearl island paradise with pristine beauty and clear blue water beaches like jade. Cham people have been coming here for a long time. ships often go back and forth to shelter from storms of maritime trade. Very busy and 17 nautical miles from the mainland of Hoi An. You should come here for a summer vacation.

Amazingly interesting and beautiful museum. Definitely worth a visit! The pictures are gorgeous and the stories are super interesting. If you travel through/visit Vietnam this is a MUST-do to get to know something about their traditional culture. Just go :)

I'm not really a big fan of museums and cultural things but I was blown away. The pictures speak more than a thousand words and are really intriguing to look at. The stories about how the photographer gathered the costumes and the trips he took to get them are very inspiring and wonderful to read. 11/10, definitely recommend.

Lovely museum, must visit when you are in Hoi An! Owner is Rehanh, a talent from French. Located in the centre of Hoi An ancient town, a beautiful place to learn about the ethenic groups in Vietnam. We appreciated all of his hard work. We were amazed how much he has done, and his knowledge of the variety cultures. We were in our travelling across the country, so we understand how difficult it is to get into the small village of the minority groups. As a Vietnamese, I have to admit that I know less about my own country, and the culture of the minority groups than him! It's free to visit, so please come to this place, to see the culture of other groups in Vietnam, as well as the beauty of Vietnam.

A warm local museum with various Vietnamese culture collection. It worth those who is interested in Vietnamese minority to visit. There's a lot art, cultural, handmade and photography collection, which make people impressive. Meanwhile, the museum also has pretty postcard, and each of it is 25k VND.

Fantastic museum, amazing photography, and so much to see and take in from this place. It is such a unique experience and museum immersed in Vietnamese culture and history. Each photograph tells a story. It's so good I have visited on two separate occasions whilst travelling in Vietnam.

A fascinating insight into Vietnam’s ethnic minorities and their traditions, with some beautiful portraits. I usually find myself enjoying a museum/gallery for 20 minutes or so and then swiftly moving on, but this small museum kept me engaged for well over an hour and I only left because I had to. Highly recommend.

Great gallery with a unique collection of different Vietnamese ethnicities’ outfits and cultures. I was amazed by the work that the artist put in to gathering all these pieces. 100% worth a visit.

A beautiful and very interesting photo/art gallery with a big collection of traditional clothes from some of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. So many stories did the French artist Rehahn capture and they are exhibited here. Its for free and you can buy anything from a postcard to books. I can highly recommend a visit here to learn more about the Vietnamese people..

Best sight in Hoi An for me. Really interesting insights about the Vietnamese tribes, showing their beautiful original traditional clothing plus amazing photos of the original owners from the tribes. Information about every piece and owner is given on cards, describing the way the photographer met them, in quite an emotional way. Absolutely recommend going there.

An incredible exhibition that you must see while in Hoi An! Free entry, can easily spend and hour in here admiring all the extensive research on Vietnamese tribes and the incredible collection they have. Photography, clothing, models and a documentary playing in the back room. An eye opening experience.

What a beautiful gallery and museum. What Rehann has done deserves so much credit. So much effort and work to bring us all this information about the different ethnic groups of Vietnam. With such detail and with examples of their beautiful costumes. And it's FREE! You can buy a postcard or some of their beautiful pictures to support the museum. Wonderful body of work, definitely worth the visit. It's a small museum but It'll take you at least one hour if you are interested in the vast information on display.

Somebody just happened to recommend this to me as I didn't have anything planned, but I'm so glad I went. I'm not particularly an art enthusiast, however I do like photography. Réhahn has created the perfect balance to be able to enjoy the art and learn about the Vietnamese culture. The museum was mesmerising and his stories were fascinating. Would 1000% recommend going if you're in Hoi An.

Best museum I've visited in Vietnam. Walked around for hours seeing all the traditional costumes made by ethnic minorities, accompanied by some amazing photography and storytelling. If you want to learn more about hill tribes, you really need to see this.

Great market to see locals selling their produce including seafood and lots more. But some will try to rip you off, so try to get an idea of prices before going from your hotel.

I'm a sucker for central markets which symbolize the heartbeat of any town. From merchandise to food, they've got it all. Hoi An Market was bustling, but I came here for two things, little souvenirs and food!!! Their food stalls are great, highlighting the local food-fare and their prices and portions are very affordable.

A must-visit in Hoi An old city. The market has fresh food, cooked food, fruit stalls, souvenir stalls, and handicraft stalls. Opens till past 5pm, arrive early if you want the access to the full market's offerings.

This place is full of markets. Different types of market and it has customised tailor shops, fruits market and beautiful temples and places with ancient historic items. It has massage centers available. The lake view is the beauty of this place. Must visit this place in the evenings to witness the actual beauty.

Central Market is a very interesting marketplace at Hoi An!!! Lots of buying and selling, haggling over the wares in this very busy market, in the mornings. Live fishes, live prawns and clam, live chicken sold along the road!! All adds to the busy market is the little pier, with boats transporting passengers and bikes!! But I like the food sold inside the Central Market (Building). Great food at reasonable price!

The hustling streets, the river dolled up with thousands of lanterns of different kinds. The delicious aroma of various street food. Everything about the place screams love. If you are someone who adores culture and heritage, Hoi An should be a place to visit. What I lacked was enough time to stay there, so make sure that if you plan to visit Hoi An, stay a night there, let the city take you through a blissful journey.

Interesting knick knacks if that's your thing. The river was peaceful with the option the take a ride. Pretty lights and lots of bustle. We had a meal and some cocktails and felt safe the whole time. Worth a look.

Backpackers & Tourist heaven! Commercialised but still very affordable with small independent shops marketing local products and services. Many historical places to stop by.

Must visit place when in Da nang, it is an ancient town of central Vietnam with lots of stories from history and heritage to tell. The area has many narrow streets, canals and old buildings displaying mix of Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese culture, all these can be easily covered by walk. The street vendors add to the experience with their colorful displays of handicrafts, colourful lanterns, local food and their smiling face.

Very busy market with a huge variety of stall and shops. Well worth a visit as something for everyone. Lots of cafes as well so you can rest and shop. Very close to where all the boats are so we took an hours ride in one for 350k including a beer each, why not.

So much to do and see. Large outdoor market with food, goods, clothing, shoes, souvenirs, pretty much everything. You can get great bargains and great local produce! It was so awsome we went back twice.

Truly immersive of tasting vietnam culinary, thanks for the preparation of the team that they separate the menus from pork ingredient (i am moslem), so that i can enjoy fully all the menus. The place has their own setting whether you are coming in group or personal. The view is so fresh with surrounding trees and plants. You will get not only the fresh sensation from the place but also from the menu. This is the recommended place to get experience in tasting traditional vietnam culinaries.

It is an old building with furniture and plaques that are over 100 years old. But it's in bad maintenance . And the staff sold all kinds of souvenirs, which made people feel a little disappointed. These ancient buildings and furniture can be better protected.

I visited this palace without tour guide so felt a bit boring. You better ask a tour guide for understand the history, it will be more great!

Avoid.... It is overcrowded and there is almost no furniture left. No information whatsoever. Most of the space is full with stuff to sell to tourists. This is basically a big souvenir shop. For a better reconstitution of a traditional house and more information head to the Museum of Folklore instead.

Unbelievable in the bad way. The house is beautiful, authentic but is destroyed by the staff in the house. They were keep bothering you by selling the goods and craft. If you say no to them, they will turn their manner to the very bad way. There was no detail of architecture. :(

A beautiful old japanese house, but the emplojees are more interested in their phone than to look after the treasures. The old porcellain is hidden behind dusty glasses, dirt everywhere, and in every room there is a shopping area. Better to visit the old house next to it!

There was a guide to show us around and she told us about the history of the place before we roamed freely. Some photo taking spots..

The house itself was interesting but I was quite disappointed at the guides/owners of the house because I experienced blatant racism and rudeness from them because I was south East Asian looking and I noticed other south East Asians were treated the same way as I was in that house. I got in, they immediately checked my ticket but ignored me soon after even when I was trying to ask about the history house. However, when there were some Caucasian people coming in, they a few of them started guiding them around telling them about the history about the house. I had to ask them point blank if one has to pay for a guide to talk about the house (which I was happy to pay for) in order to learn about the house. They said no, it’s all free and told me to listen into the people who got in at least 20 min after I did, were then greeted immediately and chauffeured by the guide in French. When I explained to them that I didn’t understand French, the lady rolled her eyes at me and then reluctantly they asked another person to guide me in English then pressured me to buy their embroideries. There was definitely element of racism there because of my appearance and perhaps they feel I don’t have the same spending power in the house. I felt quite upset by the entire experience if I were treated better I would have bought things to support that family like I have done in the other houses. I feel like this house didn’t have much to offer and didn’t understand why it was recommended in some guide books I read as I had far better experience in other houses where the guides treated everyone fairly and respectfully and houses were more interesting to explorer.

The Phung Hung ancient house is a commercial house typical of Vietnam's urban areas in the 18th century, with its unique blend of Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese architectural styles it is symbol for the multicultural community of ancient Vietnam.

It is a museum about the export of Vietnamese pottery with exhibitions of digs in wooden cabinets. The real interest is the building, it shows the layout of a traditional house with the shop, courtyard, accomodation and cooking quarters. So worth exploring for that reason. Note the detailled carving of the marble slab on which the wooden pillars stand.

Beautiful old house of a mixture of Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese architecture. Very nice view from the balcony on the second floor. They also introduce you about some history and shrines at this house. Before entry they ask you about the ticket.

Really not worth it. You have to buy the tickets at another location, although it's not far away the walk to buy the tickets is longer than the actual 'tour'. Once inside, the 'guide' gives you a brief 2-5 minute talk about the history of the house. They take you to the souvenir section and if you don't buy anything, the 'tour' ends and you're left to look at the rest of the house by yourself which isn't much. They claim that their family still lives in the house but there were no signs of people living there. All in all, it's just a souvenir shop advertised as a museum.

Never experienced such aggressive and persistent selling in Vietnam. And sour faces when we did not buy. House is interesting when you can force your way away from the many selling staff here

Our visit was on 21st Feb 24, morning time. In this religious establishment, an elderly individual assumed the role of manager and consistently peddled lucky items, such as "lộc - xu may mắn" (lucky coins), to visitors. The commercialization of this sacred space, compounded by the requirement to purchase tickets for entry and the feeling of being deceived, undermines the reverence for the divine and erodes visitors' respect for the sanctity of the site. I believe governmental intervention to regulate and restrict profit-driven practices like these is imperative.

Built in 1851, this assembly hall is a memorial to 108 merchants from Hainan Island who were mistaken for pirates and killed in Quang Nam province. The elaborate dais contains plaques to their memory. In front of the central altar is a fine gilded woodcarving of Chinese court life.

It’s a beautiful place, but the ticket guy was very inappropriate and groped me. I went at off peak ( 2PM) and it was just me . He offered to take a picture of me and then he wanted a selfie which I agreed to and then he slipped his hand on my breast. And tried again when I moved it away. Ruined my afternoon

It is Cantonese Assembly Hall in Hoi An Ancient town. It belongs to culture and history here. I think when tourists visit Hoi An old town, they should visit here too

Another beautiful structure and worship house. Altar depicts beautiful fresco molding rarely seen. Furniture and courtyard. This is a gem. Uncrowded, at least during my visit.

Nice place to visit, admission is 35K and parking is 50K, so I suggest you park before you arrive, in case you are driving!!! There are many locals who show you their skills and offer to try their craft, of course they expect you to buy something from their store after the experience! At the end of your "village tour" you will receive a free ceramic whistle in the shape of an animal! I got a cute turtle ;)

No demonstrations happened, which was a shame, as I had looked forward to that. If you choose to pay more to try your own hand at pottery I'm sure the experience would lift.

A small pottery village made up of many individual households all offering you to take part in making a piece of pottery. You will be expected to either buy what you made or something from their shop. Prices are relatively cheap. A good experience which you should allow upto 2 hours to walk all around the village.

Very pretty pottery village. The artists in their workshops are very welcoming, and they will gladly share some impromptu ceramics lessons. The location next to the river is also particularly beautiful.

This is a fantastic experience You buy tickets at the ticket booth we paid 105k for two adults and two kids. They give you tickets that you can redeem for a little trinket at any shop. I would suggest going to the water and checking out the shops there first. They will let you try making poetry and show you some tricks. If you want you can buy something from their shop but not required. One shop will bake the bowl you make and let you paint it. For 30k vnd But be careful. They use air fryers for baking them, and they are not cured. Once you get back to your hotel, let them sit in the sun.

Very cheap ticket price, with the ability to exchange for items that were handmade. My sister and I went there and we got a bunch of gifts in return. A nice morning visit and activity if you want to run away from the crowd in the Hoi An's old quarter.

I wouldn't put the Pottery Village at the top of my list of places visit in Hoi An, I'd rather recommend the Terracotta Park right next to it. Cosy, narrow streets take you through the village, with occasional encounters with local cats and dogs. The atmosphere was really nice here. As to the pottery shops, they mostly sold the exact same products, and some of the people working there would follow your every step as you looked around. That was a tad tiring and made it feel quite commercialised. If pottery souvenirs are what you're after, then it might still be worth it, though you can still get the exact same ones in the Pottery Park right next to it.

The ticket price is 50k, which is a bit overpriced compared to what this place offers to visitors. However, they provided us with the experience to make terracotta pots, the price is 30k/person

We really enjoyed the pottery village and seeing how the various pots and vases are made. We also saw some really cute puppies that made my day. With the entrance ticket you get a free souvenir clay whistle that you can pick up from various places around the village, so take a look first and then make your choice.

Affordable souvenirs and a nice day out. Come early or later to avoid the mid day rush. You will be invited at a number of shops to make a clay pot for free in exchange for purchasing a local souvenir. Take your time and see all of the shops and admire the local talent.

This is a cute morning activity if you want to get out of Hoi An without going too far. It's mostly for tourists, but it is interesting to walk around and chat with the families that make their living from pottery. there's a paid attraction, but it's just a park with a bunch of pottery in different shapes. I didn't go in the paid part and didn't feel like I missed out. Most shops will tell you that you can make a piece for free (key word being make and not take).

A nice relaxing activity while in Hoi An. It’s worth visiting and you can get a little free gift at one of 3 designated shops. It was a little underwhelming but still enjoyable and relaxing. I went alone so perhaps with a local or guide it would’ve been a bit more exciting/interesting? I really recommend going on a sunny day ~

Well worth while visiting. Amazing place and you can also get souvenirs for really good prices - much better than in the Old Town. It was also very quiet - no overrun with tourists

Nice guided tour. We had the opportunity to make a put ourselves. Important that such tradition is kept alive.

I really enjoyed this place even though I don't think I went inside properly! As is often the case out here I was accosted before I could go inside by a lady living on the way into the village. She offered me to make a piece of pottery for free and then decide if I wanted it. So I did and then I painted it and it was just so nice to sit and paint for a while. I did go for a wander after and it's such a great place. Even played badminton with some local kids!

Tourist point, but fun to explore. You got souvenir at the end of your trip there ( a small animal statute). You can experience in making pottery too. Ticket is cheap, parking lot around (5,000vnd/1)

A very quaint village that is easy accessible by a motor bike. Lots of pottery items to browse through and purchase. I even got a chance to sit down and make my very own clay pot. An experience I won’t soon forget

Did a DIY bike tour of the island, through paddy fields, small lanes. Nice enough, though nothing spectacular.

A stop on the riverboat trip. They mainly do carpentry work in the village including boat repairs. The market was the best thing to see.
