Lovely garden, well maintained and has huge varieties of rare trees, shrubs and unique flowering plants. Though it's heavily crowded on weekends and public holidays, owing to its huge area cover, you won't be running into others that much. Though sanitary workers take so much of effort to maintain park neat and tidy, it's really disturbing to see few visitors throwing away waste and leftover foods just like that. Humble request to all people who read this review to encourage themselves and people around you to keep all public places anywhere for that matter, neat and clean. Please find a bin and throw waste.

Face mask is mandatory, no entry without that. The garden is good and vast. Tea, coffee are available inside the premises. There is a small shop that sells tea powder, oils etc which says it’s from govt forest department. It was raining when we visited during 1st week of July. Overall a good experience and can explore variety of plants flowers and huge old trees. It took almost 2 hrs to complete the tour.

Wonderful Botanical Garden ! Very well maintained. A quick walk , glancing through the exhibits and the flora would need about 45 minutes. Even 2 hours might be less for a detailed visit ! ( PS-A café and a nursery shop are also there inside ) Private car park is just 1 minute walk away from the main entrance.

Govt Botanical Garden is such a beautiful garden that fills your heart with joy. I went there last in 2008, and had the pleasure of visiting it in 2023. The glasshouse had the choicest collection of flowering plants, and succulents. The fern house looked beautiful but was closed. The huge trees that surround the paths of the garden are a sight to behold. There is a lovely store where you can buy a whole range of plants at super affordable rates. The price range starts at 10Rs.

It's worth the visiting. Easily it takes off 1-2hrs of our time. Try going in evening time or in morning time to take good photos. We can assume it more as a normal park then the botanical garden. Theme n designs are good. If you are short of time as tourist better to skip as to watch in hurry.

The Botanical Garden ooty was rich with greenery and fresh air. It has an aroma of a variety of flowers . It gives a fresh and pleasant mind. I think this garden has good vibes for family gatherings and meet ups. This garden is spacious enough for children and adults. Overall I cherished the space.

Well maintained, very neat and clean.. one of the must visit in Ooty.. Covid protocols are strictly followed in the entrance.. flower show in April month of every year and dog shows are popular events here.. road side shops outside the park are excellent for shopping - prices are reasonable and good products.. small indoor cactus plants sold at 250 rupees in other cities are sold for just 50 rupees..

Best time to visit here is during spring when the flowers are in full bloom and lush greenery.If you come in the Winter season (December/ January) there is nothing much to see. Because during the winter season they start to plant flowers so you can't enter to the grassland.The entry ticket for adults is ₹50 and ₹30 for children.They charge around ₹80 for four wheeler parking.The garden is good and vast.The place is huge with greenhouse, sculptures trees, bushes and shrubs. Established in 1848, it occupies an area of more than fifty acres, and is home to a wide variety of flora, many indigenous to the area. Reports suggest that it took about ten years to complete the garden, as a portion of jungle and swamp had to be converted into a garden. There are lots of visitors and some of the flowerbeds and flowers, specifically inside the glass house have been very tastefully displayed. Well worth a second visit...

Good place to hang out. Lots of varieties of trees are there. There are small ponds and small flower gardens also. The entry fee is 50/- (We visited on 31st Jul 23). You can click pictures and enjoy the calmness of this place. Scenic beauty of Ooty can also be seen. You can hang out in the garden as well.

There's variety of plants and flowers on display is impressive. It's a perfect spot to spend some peaceful time in nature. However, I would recommend avoiding weekends as it tends to get overcrowded, which can take away from the tranquil experience.

Now this is not the peak season. But still the garden maintaining well. It will look far more beautiful if you are visiting while season of March to May. Expect crowd always. Try to visit before 3 pm to spend your quality time with the beauty of flowers in the beautiful background of the well maintained garden. Please keep in mind the sun light may fade early due to cloudy/ rainy weather. Ooty climate is unpredictable at times, so keep an umbrella handy. If it rains it will take time to reach to exit and spoil your experience, so better be prepared.

I went there on 20th Jun. 2023 and it was raining. The garden was beautiful and well maintained as well. Lot of different kind of flowers and trees. Lot of benches to sit and relax. You can feel tired easily if you will explore more as there are slant paths to walk. We went to the top of the garden up to the staff quarters. It is definitely a place for nature lovers only.

Its a beautiful place if you like flowers and trees OR if you have kids. The place isn't that well maintained. The varieties of flowers are many. Its expensive for one visit. Entrance fee per person is Rs. 50. Parking fee is Rs. 80. It's crowded at all times and many places are closed so you cant have a close look.

Big and huge garden. Well and cleanly maintained. But nothing much to see. It’s a quite sit out place. Enjoy fresh air, lay on cool green grass, with gentle sun rays morning at around 11:00am to 1:00 pm to take fresh sunlight.

Visited on April 10, 2024 at 4 pm. Too crowded which actually spoils the beauty of the place. Well maintained garden. All the glass houses were closed when we visited. Monkey puzzle tree( monkeys cannot climb this tree), Fossil Tree trunk etc were some of the attractions. There is a small shop run by Thoda people at the main exit gate. Price seems to be bit high but not sure though.

This place truly is a nature paradise. There are many breathtaking beautiful places here . You can see many wide varieties of flowers and plants. Many places to take pictures. And there are many small vendors outside the garden where we can get some souvenirs and small appetizers.

The Botanical Garden in Ooty offers a vast expanse, but our visit in March, supposedly peak season, left much to be desired. Disappointingly, the garden lacked the vibrant blooms expected during this time, with only a small gallery showcasing flowers or flower shows. Maintenance seemed lacking, with dried-up foliage prevailing throughout. However, the garden does provide a serene environment for relaxation and enjoying nature's tranquility. While it falls short of expectations for a botanical garden experience, it serves adequately as a spot for casual gatherings and snacks. Perhaps timing plays a crucial role, but based on our visit, it didn't quite live up to its botanical reputation.

Try to avoid this peak during weekends or holidays. Too hot and too many people. Though it looks mesmerising during winter covered in clouds , compared to it in summer it doesn't look that good but still is beautiful. Peak is completely net barricaded. The way to the peak is beautiful, surrounded by trees.

Wow, awesome experience at a high altitude, too cold. I enjoyed the view it was really great. Be careful while driving as it is a single road with two-way options.

It was quite crowded, had to wait in line for many kilo meters before you reach the spot. Its not because of too much crowd at the place, but its mainly due to poor parking arrangements to handle a moderate crowd. If you are going on a busy day better avoid to save time. It is just a view point. The telescope house have nothing operating there.

Dodda betta peak is one of the hill stations in and around ooty. TIMINGS-8am-5pm ENTRY FEE- Car-20₹ Two wheelers-10₹ Van-30₹ per head ⚠️ NO plastic is allowed inside doddabetta peak.better to avoid carrying plastic water bottles and eatables in plastic covers. Fine will be imposed on finding plastic items. There are no eatables or stalls once ypu enter the doddabetta junction.However on reaching the peak there are 2 shops which sell hot tea and coffee and various kinds of fried snacks-chilly bajji,noodles,dal vada etc There is a telescopic aerial view available on 1st floor on climbing stairs.However the telescopes were locked up and were temporarily shut (as in april,2022) There are 3 outlets from the peak which lead to a panoramic view of the hills and the tall trees. Its a scenic view which people go to click pics.nothing much is there to see as such. PARKING-Its a bit problematic if you dont reach early as the parking area is not spacious and gets filled soon on public holidays. On the way up from the junction to the peak,the view is beautiful with tall trees on either sides of the road. Best time to visit- 8am-9am (Its not very crowded.The weather is pleasant.parking space will be available without any fussing.)

A very good place to visit in Ooty. From the telescope house you can view different borders with other places. Also the view of the hills when the sky is clear is also nice.

The road trip to the peak is such a nice experience. Somewhat crowded, but it's a nice place to visit with families and friends. The view from the peak is splendid. You can reach there by means of a jeep which will be available at the bus stop area. It's quite economical.

Located on the Ooty-Coimbatore route. The way from Ooty town to the peak is really beautiful. Entrance to the peak was closed when I visited due to the bad condition of the road.

It's on a hilltop and very foggy. Once you reach the peak there is a beautiful garden alongside and also a telescopic center to get an amazing view from above.

It is one the best place to visit in South India. Around 7500 feet from the sea level at Ooty - you can’t skip it.

Significance -: The Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats meet at Nilgiri hills. It forms a part of Western Ghats, covering the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. The peaks of Nilgiri have an elevation of 1800 to 2400 metres,and the highest peak is Doddabetta in Tamil Nadu. (Situated in Ooty) It is situated at an altitude of 2,637 meters (8,650 feet) above sea level. Timings- From 8am Onwards till 6pm Entry fee - 10/- (On the way there is a toll gate where you have to pay 20/-) Caution - NO plastic is allowed here. It's better to avoid carrying plastic items. Shops - On reaching the peak, there are 2 shops which sell hot tea, lemon tea and coffee and various kinds of fried snacks-chilly bajji, noodles, dal vada etc. We, two people, drank 1 cup of lemon tea (20/- per cup) each. It was delicious. It was around 8AM (01 Aug 23), temp was around 14°C, with cool breeze flowing, the hot lemon tea with basil leaves was so refreshing and warming. While returning from the top, we enjoyed peanuts masala (cost - 30/-) at a shop downstairs which was also tasty. First floor - There is a telescopic aerial view available on 1st floor on climbing stairs. Since it was foggy, we didn't go there as nothing would have been visible. From the Top - Its a scenic view which people go to click some photographs. Other than that, the mountain top gives you beautiful landscape views of the surrounding hills, including Chamundi Hills, grassy plains of Mysore and Coimbatore including Karnataka border. One can even see the forests of Bandipur National Park from the top. Parking- The parking area is small and gets filled soon on public holidays. So either reach early in the morning hours or on week days. It is usually crowded in weekends. Otherwise you mayn't get parking space. Way Up - On the way up from the junction to the peak, the view is beautiful with tall trees on either sides of the road. The city view is also available where we halted and took some photographs. The weather was so chill and foggy, we went inside the jungle on either side of the road, not too far, clicked pics.

Doddabetta Peak is the highest point in the Nilgiris. One of the most visited tourist destination in Ooty. I have been here twice and the view from up there is stunning! If there are no clouds covering you can see the view of Nilgiris and Ooty from there. The telescope was closed when we went due to bad weather. Definitely worth visiting.

Great view. But i would suggest that you should not try the telescope because it only shows the view of a road.

Good place to visit in Ooty. I went in a season which was so cloudy and was unable to see the view from telescope or the naked eye. But the view with the cloud cover was legendary. Visiting hours is from 8am to 5pm and you will pass through lots of street shops and food which is so amazing here. One of the recommended place for a splendid view from a hill top.

You will enjoy this place very cold. Some people may feel shortness of breath also. Temperature is very less here so better carry jackets if any asthma patients better carry caps and mask to cover nose and ears. There is a small market here to shop and ticket 10rs per head. Parking available. Best ghat road for driving lovers. You will get view in summer only from top. Best place for picture lovers. I strongly recommend this place please visit.

The coolest point of Ooty. It is the highest peak of South India. There is a tower at the top from where you can see Ooty and Coonoor on either side. It is a very picturesque spot. The cleanliness is well-maintained. There are food stalls over there where fresh food items and beverages can be purchased. There is ample parking available. There are stalls on the exit route. There is a marginal entry fee. The view from up there is amazing and perfect for taking pictures. The way to the top can be traversed in a car and is a wonderful route too.

Mountain peak is incredible! Greater view from the top amidst clouds. So breathtaking! Must visit for nature lovers. Excellent scenery, very mesmerizing. Highly recommend for a memorable experience. Love the observatory for capturing the beautiful surroundings!?!!

The point itself is very good to look at the city, the mountains and the greenery. Crowd management is not that great here. I couldn't find a good washroom at this place. Parking is also a bit of a problem when there too much crowd.

This is the second highest peak in south India. We do not have restroom at the parking area, instead we need to climb to the peak for the restroom. At the peak , we have observatory and few shops for the refreshment. On the way to the peak, we have many shops for shopping as well as for chit chat items. The view was splendid, the climate might change depending on the way , so just google it before going.

It used to be very nice. But it has lost it's glory. No telescopes are working and it's very crowded. Can visit just for the feel and click few pictures with lovely backdrop

This was our first point to visit in ooty and we were highly disappointed. We can see the nearby views by climbing on the telescope room but there was no telescope there. Other than that there was nothing else to see there. The washroom is available on the top and edibles are easily available from parking till the top of the hill. If you are planning to visit ooty, this place can be skipped.

This lake is located in the main city. There is an entry fee to visit the lake. Apart from enjoying the beauty of the lake, one can do several activities like boating, house riding, amusement rides etc. There are several food outlets and shops inside the lake area. Overall a very good place for kids and families.

Ooty is always amazing place to visit. You can visit with the family. it is a hill station there are 3-4 very nice place to visit. Try to experience the toy train from Konoor to Ooty or vice versa. Ooty lake is amazing. You can get very tummy food in Ooty lake canteen. You may go for shooping for local chocolates and other interesting stuffs. In Ooty lake, you xan go for nice boating with your family in reasonable rates.

There is nothing like it, there is no old taste, the building has been constructed and the taste is known. It is also a decision to attract people. They just buy cash. There is no taste. Wide n spacious place with great landscape view also with cool breeze lovely location for boat ride we had great time but they said 20min n finished in 10min only but they took full amount around Rs.1200/- not happy for that, parking also a big headache less space for parking

Very beutifull serene place. It has a small vehicle fee at entrance after which you have to in around 400meters. Motor boat is good for family of 8 which is 1000 rs for 20min it goes so slow no thrill nd coslty and speed boad for 2 to 3 person around 850 which is thrilling .

This place is good for boating . Very huge water bed. They are 5 to 6 boats. 8 to 10 people can travel in one boat. The cost is 1000 Rs for 8 passengers and 1200 for 10 passengers.. There are 50 steps to go down. They give on round on the Pykara lake for 15 minutes. Nice place to visit

Very beautiful place, awesome view. You will feel real nature and beauty. Literally at some point you will feel you are living in imagination.

Nice reserved area, water level was low. Can have some good time with family. Kids love boating but not so good as nothing other than going on water for few minutes. Food served but too much crowded and not upto the quality. Few kms away the water fall also have a long walk but not worth visiting as water is little from the dam. Good to visit season times. Weather is good as we don’t feel the hot sun.

While the wait could be lengthy, particularly on weekends, the whole experience was well worth it. A must-see for anyone in search of natural beauty and tranquillity. It comes highly recommended.

Lovely and peaceful and clean lake. Must do speedboat here. It's a big lake with heavy water. So mesmerizing place to visit. When we went, there was no rush. U can even spend the whole day here. They maintained this place. For photography also this place is awesome.

Pykara lake is situated about 25 km from Ooty in Ooty Gundelpet Highway. The boat house on the Pykara Reservoir is an added attraction for tourists. The boat house with restaurant is maintained by Tamil Nadu Tourism and Development Corporation. It consists of several boats and has motor boats which are allowed for 20 minutes and speed boats which are allowed for 10 minutes. The boat ride was a pleasent experience and the scenic beauty of this place is extraordinary. Pykara Lake is one of the popular tourist attractions in Pykara and we had visited the same during our vacation in Ooty. It was Monday afternoon but the place was very crowded. There was long queue at tickets counter for boating and even longer waiting queue for boarding the boat. There are 4 types of boat - 8 seater, 10 seater, 15 seater and 3 seater speed boats. We sat in the shade and watched speed boats whizzing around the lake while we enjoyed clicking pictures and eating ice cream. We had thought of just taking a stroll around but as the day was a bit cloudy we decided to take a motor boat ride. It was a 8 seater boat with just the 4 of us and the boat glides smoothly wthout the engine making a racket. There are options of peddle boat and row boats also each having a seperate ticket counter. For honeymooners there is a seperate area. Do ensure to carry your woolens and cap as it can get quite chilly. The lake also has a pathway to walk around for people who desire to take a long walk . The food around was not good. Am enjoyable serene lake. Lush green forests surrounding it.Speed boat ride is thrilling although they charge ₹ 1000 for 10 minutes ride for maximum 3 persons, but it is really enjoyable. The place gets crowded and you may have to wait for upto 30 minutes for boat ride. There is an eatery too , so can have some refreshments. Public convenience are poorly maintained and need to be improved. Overall an enjoyable , relaxing and refreshing experience. About 40 min ride from ooty city, this lake is a gem. It's clean, large water body and green forest surrounding it. There are speed boat, 8. Seater , 1/ seat r normal boats which you can hire for around 900 Rs and spend 20 mins of boating with a cherishing experience. Restaurant is also there at entrance, in case you want to have some snacks on the go.

Located a little far away from Ooty this lake is a must visit. In order to fully experience the beauty of the place you must do boating in this lake. We took a speed boat which showed us around for 20 minutes. The boat ride can get very windy and chilly, so better carry warm clothes.

A very clean lake that offers breathtaking views and an awesome boating experience. It is usually crowded and the queue is big for boating, but it is worth doing.

The boating in Pykara was so good! Especially speed boating. It was a fun experience but just make sure to note the time, if they spend the complete mentioned 10 minutes. The view is worth it.

There is a boating facility with a different price structure for speed boating, 8 seater with open and close boats and the timings vary for certain boatings. Please check before you're gonna buy the tickets. If you are alone, then you can check near the ticket counter if you can find some riders waiting to make a group and get around. The ride was very pleasant and overall a great view to watch around and a must visit place in Ooty.

Not worth going here. Plan early morning to botanical garden first then if time permits go to rose garden. There are many varieties of roses you can observe and see the names of them and enjoy. If you have your own car, pl park in parking area and don't have to tell this in ticket counter els you have to pay separately. Don't take out your car again if you roam within 2-3 km

The Government Rose Garden is a beautiful garden situated near Ooty Lake, showcasing a wide variety of rose plants. A brief 30-minute visit offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and an array of colorful flowers. Unfortunately, during our visit in March, the trees had just been trimmed, so only a few varieties of roses were in bloom. It's best to avoid visiting during the summer months. The entry fee is affordable, and the crowds are usually manageable. However, parking can be a bit challenging on public holidays and weekends.

Although the garden has ROSE in it's name but you wont find any good rose plant maintained properly. They claim that there are arround 700 different species of rose but you will barely find around 70 of them blooming. Others plants are either dead or dropped. But other than this there are many more things to enjoy here... Many other plant species many old trees which are older than 100 years.. from here the view of ooty city looks mesmerizing.. i would recommend to go here in the evening.. keep in mind that the gates will be closed after 6 30 PM.

The Govt. Rose Garden was under maintanance. All the roses except a very small area were cut down for them to prepare for the flower show. We could see only the area where Rose garden existed. The relevant part ഈസ്‌ that this matter is not at all revealed when we took the tickets to enter the garden. The Govt. Is actually sponsoring cheating the tourists.

It's a really beautiful garden full of roses! Better time to visit this garden is during the sun set or early morning! The whole garden would be covered in golden Sun rays and best pictures could be taken here.. if you go in afternoon you'll be facing a lot of heat and sun just above you. You'll not be able to enjoy the beauty fully.. Not to miss if you have extra time.

One of the tourist attractions in ooty this is a huge garden containing amazing varieties of roses. The garden is spread over a huge area in 3 levels and you can find different varieties of colors of roses right from the regular Dark red ones to even yellow, orange and blue roses. The weather is fresh due to presence of so many flower bearing plants and you can see the garden is being well maintained by the gardeners working round the clock. You will need to keep at least 2 to 3 hours in hand if you wish to see the entire park properly. Also you can click many photos of all the varieties of roses inside the park. the experience is pretty amazing and you can see almost all the varieties of roses from around the world in one single place.

This is not the season for the roses so we did not witness to much roses If you are going Ooty and you are not visiting the gardens then you will not be able to witness the beauty of Ooty. You can reach here by auto rickshaw or by walking. Entry fees is just 40 rupees the opening timings are very good you can reach here at 7 morning and enjoy up to 6:30 evening. Picnic for playground for each and everything it's really awesome.

Good place to see all of varieties of Rose plants. Our bad luck was when we visit in March they trimmed the trees. Only few varieties was there. There should be label on all plants only few flowers has name.

To reach there you have to take 5 minutes trek which is worth it as this place has great scenic views and amazing greenery, Great outing place to hangout with friends and families. One of the better places in Ooty to visit if you have some time, and up for a short 15 minute hike. The hill doesn't look great from the entrance, with yellowish grass on the road side. However, once you hike to the top, you are greeted with some amazing views on all the sides. There's also a forest once you cross the topmost point, and you can explore the place there. Additionally, you can click some really nice photos at the top, from several different angles!

This place is a paradise for those who love taking pictures/videos and enjoy nature. The walk up hill was exciting. The view from the hill top was awesome. The cool breeze added to our positive experience. Wear sports shoes or comfortable footwear when you visit this place. It's a very breezy place so dress accordingly. There are small stalls nearby selling Maggie, cut fruits, juice, corn etc. I enjoyed this place a lot. Definitely recommended for all Ooty visitors.

My all-time favourite spot in Ooty! Can spend hours and hours just sitting and watching the scenic view. This is a beautiful landscape. A must visit in Ooty. It’s a short 5 minute trek up the hill and you get the most beautiful panoramic view of the hills. Wenlock downs was used to shoot many popular Bollywood movies. Just a simple hillside to walk all over the top and click photos

This film shooting location was truly a mesmerizing experience. The hill offered panoramic views of lush green valleys and distant mountains, which I later recognized from famous films. I could see why filmmakers chose this location for its natural beauty. I found remnants of past shoots, like props and set pieces that added to the excitement.

A beautiful viewpoint where you get to see the large valley and the mountains around. There is an entry ticket of Rs. 30 per person. You need to climb a mountain to reach the top. The peak is not too steep so you will reach in around 10 minutes. The view from the top is phenomenal and a must visit. You can just sit around and feel the cold breeze. There is enough parking space outside the gate. There are some shops as well outside so you can enjoy hot maggi in the cold weather!

Benches are there to Sit, Relax and Enjoy the nature. We visited the place in the month of December, enjoyed without much crowd. Rest rooms and eateries are available . A place with so much history of film shootings. Once you visit there you can clearly see why. The whole 360 view is very beautiful. The clouds and the fogs surrounding the area also creates a special effect which makes this small climb to the top totally worthwhile.

The view was beautiful and breathtaking. You can easily trek up if you are in good health. It barely took 20 mins to go up, click some pictures and come back down. Good place for a family picnic or just for some good family picture day.

It is just an uphill climbing offering some beautiful frames ideal for filming and taking pictures beyond which there is nothing much to explore. Recommended only for those who love to take good pictures with nature's beauty as the backdrop.

5 stars are not enough for the kind of views this place offers, best views i have ever been to in a very long time. There is a parking place on the other side of the road , please do not park in the highway its a very busy road. Amazing place, views at the top are breathtaking. A must stop place on the way to Ooty. If you love a place where nature and views give you peace, this place is for you. There is a small walk from the entrance to the top of the hills through a lush green walkway. The entire scenery gives you calmness. One advice- when you are at the top, walk further towards the other end and occupy the place where no crowd is there. You'll be in awe of the place, play the soft music, enjoy the views and get immersed in the beauty of this place. It feels so relaxing!

If you don't mind climbing a mountain then this place can offer a beautiful view of the surroundings. We reached the place in the afternoon when the sun was shining bright. But the best thing was we didn't feel the heat because of the cool breeze. Climbing can test your stamina. Wear comfortable shoes or sandals so that you can climb with ease. The mountain is neat and clean. The view from top is amazing and it's a great place to take selfie or a group photo against the backdrop of lush green mountains and cloud. The place is vast and you can enjoy walking from one side of the mountain to the other side. This time of the year - March - we didn't find the grass green but we sat down for sometime and enjoyed the view. The best time to be here is either early morning when it opens or during evenings. Maybe that time you may get to watch the sunset. There are entry tickets to visit the place. On the side os the entrance you can find roadside stalls offering snacks and eatables. Inside the gate you have washroom. If you don't just love mountains but also want to experience them from close by scaling them then this is a place to be. And you get to see 360 degree view of the open sky and mountains. 😊❤️😎

This is a vast meadow(bugyal) situated around the hill top near pykara the meadow is at a steep trek of around 200 meters and is only one way , on the other side of mountain there is just forest , one can stay at the top enjoying some snacks and the view ,these places are often used as sunset points, best way to travel is by private vehicle or cabs. This is easily reachable from ooty . Couples find it astonishing calm to stay together and enjoying the view.

It's a hill area and you have to treck on deep slope to reach the best viewpoint. It's really worth trekking. You'll get to see awesome landscapes around 360 degree. Temperature goes down suddenly after 5pm. We were in journey month end and it was one of the good view points in ooty

Good place for nature photography. Lots of pine trees. One of the must visit places in Ooty. The view is awesome. As the name says shooting spot, it is very good for cinematic video and photo captures. Best time to visit is either in morning or evening.

Fantastic place. Visited in the evening hours and the view while getting down the stairs were breath taking. Just check the attached photos. Need to walk around 400 meters from the main road and collect the entry ticket, then walk down the stairs around 50 steps with a large landing. Battery cars are available for a nominal charge of Rs.20 to cover the 400 meters distance and from there we still need to walk through the steps. There is a little park for the kids under 10 years to play.

It’s probably one place in Ooty to see waterfalls. However visit in monsoon as in other seasons you won’t get water flow. Other than that you will get good view. It’s also having a little play area for small kids. If you don’t prefer to walk opt for battery car as you might need to walk for 500 meters. Ticket prices are reasonable.

Located at a distance of around 20kms from Ooty, Pykara falls is a must do attraction of this region. When we went there the water flow is low but still the place was really beautiful. There was a small trek via 50 steps and 300m walk to reach this place. There is also a small lake besides the falls but boating facilities weren't there. Also want to mention that one can only watch falls from a distance and can't go inside and bath.

There wasn't much water to call it 'Water Falls'. But it was a clean, green, peaceful place. There's a parking spot opposite to the road leading to this place. Park ur vehicles there n walk for about 10 minutes. Buy tickets (30₹/head) at the counter n enjoy the water streams.

It’s a small and beautiful falls that is just 10 minutes walk from the parking spot. The entry fees is RS 20 per adult. Due to Covid, there were not many visitors. It caters well to the local tourist but won’t be anything special for foreigners. A good spot for a quick break if you are on the way.

One should manage expectations because these aren’t the largest waterfalls. These are however decent in size and speed and a good place to just relax and meditate; watching the water flow by. The way to the falls and back isn’t the most friendly for older people so that is something you might want to consider. Even with the electric car outside, you still have to walk and climb a lot of area inside the guarded area. All in all, a good experience.

Really beautiful falls ! We visited during the month if May 2023. You can see the flow of the water in the photos. 30₹ for entrance per person! There are steps you need to climb down to reach the falls There are washrooms available to use! You either need to walk to the main entrance or they have a buggy service available for the elderly. There are a lot of stalls on the way to the entrance which serves food but they aren’t hygienic. And yes it was crowded!

Very peaceful and beautiful place to go! The sound of running water is so amazing. The approach road is through a jungle and had an amazing experience to it. Although as the road is narrow it might be good if you drive a little slow and be careful and it’s difficult to see the oncoming traffic in the midst of nature. Ultimately it was a very good experience. A must visit place if you are in Ooty.

First of all visit place by checking the season and water flow level. Only in the high flow season you can have water falls feel, when it’s low flow it’s just like a lake. No waterfalls. From the entry point you need to walk 300mtrs towards lake/waterfall area. Also there is an option of battery car, they carry you till the steps area from there you have to go by foot. In between you can see green slopes where you can creative with your pictures. Lake area is good to see and it’s very calm and soothing. You can spot waterfall only in couple of places that too with little streams. We got a bit disappointed to see only streams and no water fall. Entry ticket is 30rs. There are so many food shops on the way. Restrooms are available but poorly maintained.

If you are coming from Bangalore then it is better to cover this place along with the dam and boat house before reaching ooty. The view is much better in the rainy season but you will enjoy in other seasons as well. It will cost you 30/40 rs per person. There are many steps so will be difficult for elderly. Otherwise the place is well maintained by the govt and proper safety measures are taken care properly for kids. You will enjoy visiting the place with family

It is one of the tourist spot in Ooty .the waterfalls is surrounded in the beauty of nature. The entrance ticket is 20rs for adult and children below 5yrs is free. They have provided the facility for toilet and drinking water also available at free of cost. You can take photographs in many places. Even photographer is available with Polaroid camera and they will give you immediate print out . It is must place to visit .

Very beautiful horizontal waterfalls. A kind of small rapids. Worth visiting. You can't get into waters. It's well barricaded with railings so safe for kids and family. 300 meters away from the highway and another 300 - 400 meters climb down via steps or a trek will take you to the falls. Halfway, there's a shelter from which you can sit and watch the falls. Great and easy way to soak in beauty. Toilet facility available. On the side of the highway a restaurant and snacks bars are available but not very good.

Trust me it's a wonderful place. It is a very vast area to walk, to sit, to see the waterfall, u can even spend yr whole day there. Beautiful water waves, lovely weather, no rush, u can do picnic also here. Must go.

Pykara waterfalls located near ooty is a great attraction. A big lake spreads in a large number of small water falls. One has to trek a small distance from main road to reach here. There are so.e snacks shops in the way.

Amazing waterfall, long distance by walk to cover to see the actual water fall. It's down though but not a higher waterfall. It's more of a fast river water flowing in the form of a fall. The actual waterfall place is closed by the Administration. Move on to the beauty aspect, it's really so beautiful and mesmerizing. Going down and coming up is bit hectic for elderly people so not so suitable for elderly people. The waterfall is best for clicking pictures, videos and capturing memories. The place is not so crowded. The river is really a nature's wonder and beleive me this is one of the most beautiful rivers. Also, the shops, restaurants before entering the road is a good option for the hungary travellers. Overall, a good sigh seeing spot. Nature's best wonder. A must visit spot.

The falls is really a mesmerizing sight. Surrounded by the lush green trees, the water pounds across the shallow rocks. The hike trail towards the falls is a nice walk and the sight at the end is so satisfying. The cool breeze on your face is soo relaxing after the long walk. The sunlight falling on the water makes it glitter. The place is so very well maintained and there is an entrance fee. The view from the top requires special mention where you find the stream running in between the Greenery. Definitely a perfect sport for exclusive photos. However I felt the area has really limited parking and the bathrooms are so shabby.

One of the best place in Ooty. My day fulfilled by visiting this place. Most attraction place in Ooty. Has a entry ticket of 30 Rs Parking could be contested when crowded. I think only cab facility is there to visit this place. No auto facility. Plan your trip happily.

It's a beautiful place on top of the hills. Maybe in the rainy season the falls will be more gracious to watch as the water flow will be more and view would be much better. Still it was a better view when visited. On the hill station this waterfall location will make your day. You have to walk 300m from the main road to reach this place. No car or bike allowed. There is a battery vehicle picking and dropping, you can wait for that or else you can walk to get a good trekking experience since once u reach the location, you have to walk another 300 meters to see the waterfalls and the beautiful location. It's better to go by battery vehicle if there are elderly people are there. Overall it's a fantastic location to visit in Ooty hill station.

The dam was closed so waterfall view was not as expected. You should definitely go even when the water level is low because the view is still pleasant. Before going for the fall, we get view of the river flowing between the green hills along with forest filled with lush green pine forest. It was picturesque. Do take the electric buggy, costing 20 bucks per head, to reach the main spot because it's worth it.

If you are planning to visit this place, come after 9:30 am, as everything in Ooty starts a bit late due to the climate. Safari is only allowed to go inside after a point . You are supposed to park the car near the checkpost and take the safari vehicle for which the drivers also comes late .. however during summer it looks to be dried up.attached the snap of the timings

Peaceful yet wonderful place. Definitely suggest the jeep ride, which costs 2k for 8 people, you can also share it with other people who ride with you to view three viewpoints.

A must-visit place in Ooty, Avalanche Lake is located 30 km away from the town. It offers breathtaking scenery of the lake and surrounding forests. However, during our visit, there was not much water in the lake. Nonetheless, the vast expanse of land, adorned with small pine forests, still captivated us. They also offer Jeep services, allowing visitors to explore the area. The Jeep ride covers a distance of 6 km and costs 2500 per Jeep, accommodating up to 5 members.

Great location, takes about one hour drive from Ooty, excellent location for a great drive and relaxing time. Great food at canteen.

This lake is 25 KM from Ooty centre .. it will take around 4 -5 hrs to complete the two way journey and go around the lake .. however in the summer the there is no water in the lake .. the best season to visit the lake is after rainy season .. still the scenery on the way is amazing.. loved scenic views

If water level is low. you can walk around on the grass land. its a big area. be aware of monkey. its completely outside the main area. Best place to chill.

This place is good and so relaxing. It is one hour drive from Ooty main. Both two and four wheelers are allowed by forest department with entry fee. We can enjoy this place with cool weather and best place to go with family and friends.

A pleasing space in the forest known for it's tranquility with lake and cauliflower forest would definitely attract the visiting tourists. The road repair work to upper Bhavani is progressing in snail's pace.

Fascinating place, but no use going in summer as the water level was low. Probably good to go after rainy season when the pastures will be green and water level will be high . The journey and the roads are good and fun for biking . There is an echo point as well.

Very calm and quite place near to ooty. It is better to go during monsoon season. During summer the lake will be dried up.jeep safari is an activity that we could do there they charge 2000 rs per jeep(8 people ). Offroad drive through pine forest is nice experience.

An offbeat place near Ooty. But nice quiet place. Lovely view of mountains along with a small rocky river. But as I visited in January last week, the lake water got dried out.

Beautiful place to visit in ooty. Surrounded by mountains and huge trees, it is mesmerizing to spend time at the lake. From the parking you need to walk for 10 minutes to reach the lake. You have parking place and small food joint which serves basic food items.

Beautiful scenery. Amazing view. Combination of nature at its best. After a while didn't allow to go deep inside,we got lucky though. Can take children and elders, not so much trekking. Parking is good. Also had an option to go on jungle safari. We didn't choose to go but its a good option. Had food inside cafe, it was satisfying. Worth it.

It is located in front of Tamil Nadu Boat House. It has no official parking space. With an entrance fee of ₹20/person and a viewing time of lower than 15 minutes, it is a must-visit. The place has national and international records with flowers are handwoven using threads. They nearly resemble the actual flowers. A guide is available inside who can explain in most of the neighborhood state languages which caught me by surprise. Sales of samples are available at the end but felt costly.

4 stars given for the hard work, effort and determination done by the 50 artists over a time period of 12 years. It also looks very real, you wont believe it is made of thread unless u see it very closely and feel it. A truly record worthy work and deserves appreciation and people should visit. It has won several world records

It was really worth a visit although to really appreciate it you need to examine the exhibits closer and in better lighting. It is sad that such exquisite art work has not received the attention it deserves.

Visited on April 11, 2024 at 6pm Set up by a Malayalee Mr Antony Joseph.He received world record for the first thread garden. It's a small pavement with plants and flowers displayed on one side. All plants and flowers are made by hands without needles or machines. It took 12 years for its completion. At the entrance, they give us a brief introduction on the materials used. At the exit, there is a sale of few thread plants kept in glass boxes. Due to the effort in making, cost is on higher side. the visit can be completed within 20minutes. Have visited 20yrs back and there is no much difference in the arrangement unless new plants are introduced.

On display are beautiful creations made entirely with thread and paper. The staff give an introduction on how it was created and at the end there is also a section which is both a shop and a place to experience the materials in your hand. The garden is right opposite the boat house and the whole garden takes about 20-30 minutes to see

Must visit place! Handcrafted plays using 100000 meters of threads or yarn and the person behind building this got a Guinness world record for it. You can see the samples and feel them and you can buy some of these plants but a little on the expensive side but it will be a good memory.

The guide initially explained us about the making and it's process. All the flowers here are handmade and it's taken 12yrs to make them. Out of all the places i visited in ooty, this was one place which i liked the most and will recommend everyone to visit. The speciality of the place is that there is a human created garden which is made up of silk thread and the work is so perfect that it's hard to tell without touching that they are not natural. Only the stones and woods used are real and except those, everything else is made up of threads. It's a must visit place for anyone planning a trip to ooty. The flowers can be purchased as they have options for that too. Once you take a ticket and go inside, a person will explain about the place in any language you are comfortable with and then one can see the garden by themselves. The entry ticket cost is 30 rs but it is totally worth the thing we get to see inside. The place is just opposite to the ooty boat club and will take approx an hour to visit.

I enjoyed the time spent here. In addition to the beautiful work, almost every exhibit has been tagged with a lot of useful information. The time spent to make this beautiful creation is indeed remarkable.

This lake is located in the main city. There is an entry fee to visit the lake. Apart from enjoying the beauty of the lake, one can do several activities like boating, house riding, amusement rides etc. There are several food outlets and shops inside the lake area. Overall a very good place for kids and families.

Boating there are lot of options right from peddling to motor boats for the big families. And also there are few nice places to get your camera to test. Toy train is one such awesome experience and nice attraction for the kids and families. It also has ample parking space. In some time soon you will also be thrilled with lot of new adventurous games coming to attract the young and adventure oriented travellers.

Good place to spend 30 minutes in ooty. You park in the huge complex, walk up the ramp, stairway, go get your ticket at Rs.10 per head. There's a short collection of pictures with history, then actually tea leaves being processed to final product. They give a glass of nice tea to taste too! Outside there are lots of stall from where you can buy tea too. Rates look reasonable.

Tea factory showcases the tea processing as well as chocolate processing. The various stages involved from collection of tea leaves to the end of processing and packaging. It my second visit to a tea processing factory. They also have tea to drink. Which was really good.

This is a good place to understand the history of tea and see the tea manufacturing process. The entry fee is minimal. There can be queue over weekends. The tea factory is small. But you will be able to see the complete tea manufacturing process live. At the end, free tea is also served for tasting. It also has a chocolate making unit that can be visited. One of the great place to showcase the manufacturing of tea and tea types.. Great explanation by animation and audio. The products produced from the same please is available for purchase. Flavors of teas available at a reasonable price. Inside chocolate factory also available, we can get to experience the great taste of ooty chocolates. The prices of chocolate are quite reasonable.

Best place to see the tea processing. They explain the process and history of tea displayed inside the museum. Entry fee is 10rs per adult and it's worth a visit. After visiting the tea museum and understanding the tea processing they will give a cup of tea for taste. This sample tea will be free of cost. You can see the chocolate making also. We can buy many varieties of tea, oils, chocolate, spices, woolen sweaters from here. Tea powder, oils, and spices are available at a good price and quality is also very good. The price of chocolate is a little high but the quality is very good. We can see Beautiful view of tea estates from here. They have zipline activity also. Free parking space available. Don't get diverted to another chocolate factory 'Bench mark' which is in the left side of entry gate. Highly recommended to visit if you are in Ooty.

It was my first experience in a tea factory. The moment I stepped inside, the air was filled with the rich, earthy scent of tea leaves. It was like entering a different world dedicated to the art of tea production.Tasting freshly brewed tea straight from the factory was a highlight. The flavors were so pure and intense compared to the usual tea bags I had at home. It was a sensory experience like no other, and I couldn't resist buying some freshly packed tea to take with me.

A small place to visit when you are in ootty. The place houses a small set up of a tea factory. The process is open for view to visitors for a nominal fee of 10 Rs. Per person. Step by step process of tea powder extraction may be seen here. Followed by the same there is sales counter for tea items and chocolate allied items which can be purchased as per choice. There is ample car parking space in the area. The neighbourhood also houses a small adventure park which is an attraction

Nice place to spend an hour or so. Entry ticket is Rs. 10 per head. A bridge through the factory takes you through all the necessary processes it takes to prepare tea from tea leaves. At the end they give you a sample tea to try absolutely free and are courteous enough to give you a refill as well. Just outside are counters to buy tea and oils. Beside the tea factory is chocolate factory. The chocolates are amazing in taste. Do try the fudges and try to have it fresh. Freezing them do kill their amazing taste. I would HIGHLY recommend to buy chocolates from here and not from the local vendors in the city.

I loved the experience. Location is easy to find They explained in a fast way because there is a lot of crowd and we went there on closing time so it's understandable. After mini tour of tea preparation they'll give tea for tasting and refreshing. chocolate factory is attached to tea factory only u can visit there. We went to eagles dare adventure which is in that place only.

Doddabetta Tea Factory is among the highest-elevation tea factories of the Nilgiris. The factory was started by N K Krishnamoorthy, who is also considered as an innovator in the tea industry. At the Tea museum, you will find three broad areas of Tea History viz. Origins of world tea, Tea history in India and Evolution of tea in the Nilgiris. Doddabetta tea factory also offers beautiful views of the valley, and mountain peaks. The entire site has total four sections: tea factory, museum, souvenir shops, and the chocolate factory, and it takes around 2 to 2.5 hours to explore entirely. They allow you to see the entire process of tea making and at the end they also give a cup of tea for taste. Apart from various varieties of tea, they also produces and sell varieties of chocolates (truffles, nuts), oils, spices, etc. While going out, you can see multiple sales outlets where you can buy products of your choice. You can also buy their products online by visiting their website.

It’s a must visit place but don’t buy chocolate from here. For Me Tea Factory was fine. Even you don’t maintain hygiene, still you will boil the tea. It was a nice trip as you get to know the process of making tea. Chocolate factory was worst. No hygiene was followed, no gloves, no hairnet. They are scratching their head, mouth & with same hand they are making chocolates. Nowadays even a PaniPuri wala using hand gloves & such a big factory they are not using.

Wow, wow and just wow. What an incredible experience of visiting this factory and saw whole process of tea formation. The whole chocolate formation process I also saw and it was unforgettable experience for me.Also, the way they give a cup of tea to taste to every visitor is such a sweet gesture from the staff members. Wonderful Tea factory to visit in Ooty. Feeling so happy and great. A must place to visit for everyone. Highly recommended.

The Emerald Dam is a beautiful lake where you can spend a perfect day overlooking the magnificent views. It is one of the topmost spots to enjoy the scenic sunrise and sunset in Ooty! At a distance of 17 km from Ooty and 27 km from Coonoor, Emerald Lake, a serene lake with emerald blue waters, is located near Emerald village. 🌊 A small lake located in Emerald. Not too crowded like the other tourist places, nice place to spend some time. It is around 1.5 KM from the dam site which further leads to the power generation station. There are no restrictions for visiting this lake.

In winter water is very less. You need to treck a bit to go near the lake. Also your shoes may stuck in muddy soil. No need to say that natural beauty is awesome.

It's a must visit place for every Ooty tourists with family and friends. You can enjoy your time at the lakeside. One can take scenic photos of this Lakeview. Please note there is no dedicated parking space, you have to park it on the roadside which is bit narrow terrain. As there are less tourists to this place, only a few cars or other vehicles to park. As well as Emerald dam is prohibited to enter, so just move on to the Emerald lake. Avalanche is just a few kms away from this place. There are two petrol banks (BP and HP) on the way from Ooty bus stand to Emerald lake. As well as there are no snacks or fruit vendors at this place so take your eateries with you (but please don't spoil the environment by throwing away the liquor glass bottles or soft drinks cans or other wastages). We visited at the afternoon 2 o clock. It seems bit dangerous to visit in the evening as there are possibilities of wild life encounters. As well as take care of yourselves at the lake as at some places it is slippery and more deep. There is also a scenic view point on the way to Emerald lake so just stop by to take some beautiful shots. Thank You !

The lake view is good but way to the dam is closed you would have to climb on top of the adjacent hill (300 meter) to actually get the lake view. Could leave out of the bucket list and move directly to Avalanche lake which is much bigger and has a much more scenic view

Awesomee awesomee and cant say anything. It doesn't have road connectivity. Life's better choice to visit here. Absolute nature and awesomee weather. Firecamp also available with help of locals. But be carefull. Water level is too deep and dont try to swim.

There was not enough water there. We visit in non season time that is why. It has a great view of the emerald dam.
