Visited it twice firstly in 2013 and again in 2024. The scenic beauty of the mountains never failed to mesmerize me but when you receive rainfall along with it the experience is just on another level.

Tsomgo Lake, also known as Tsongmo Lake or Changgu Lake, is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim, some 40 kilometres from the capital Gangtok. Located at an elevation of 3,753 m, the lake remains frozen during the winter season. A very sparkling place to make your photos enhanced everytime you click, go in Feb March. You may get ice there, however we went there last month with a little spoon of bad luck, neither clicked a picture with lake nor touched ice as they were absent. You may see the cow like creatures (I actually don't know the name of that species) get a ride, though it was optional. Make sure you visit the nearby market, food plazas definately disappoint you, although the washrooms are more expensive than iPhones in terms of accessing. May the photographs please you.

A great place to view Kanchenjunga Mountain & the lake. We find very little ice in the lake as snow fall is very less this year. Rope way is good but somewhat scary but once u reached at the top of the mountain u will enjoy Kanchenjunga Mountain & its view is unparalleled. One must be poet to describe its beauty. I become speechless & stayed there for 30 minutes to enjoy the view.

Tsomgo (Changu) lake is an absolutely stunning glacial lake situated at an elevation of 3,753 m (12,313 ft) in Sikkim. The view is totally mesmerising. We visited Tsomgo in the 1st week of March 2008, with college friends. 1) Scenery: Magnificent atmosphere, with the whole lake frozen even in the month of March 2) Connectivity: Nicely connected via road transport with nearby tourist spots & important cities. 3) Food: There are multiple small shops around, where you can enjoy nice hot tea/coffee & simple snacks. Don't forget to enjoy a piping hot plate of Maggi amidst the snowfall 4) Attraction: Make sure to enjoy the exciting Yak ride.

Visited this glacial lake in the month of May with family. The lake has a spectacular panoramic view with legendary beauty at an altitude of approx-12,300 ft. The reflection of mountains on the lake is really mesmerizing. Different colors are reflected from the lake surface with change of seasons, and this phenomenon has a great reverence by the local people. The temperature was nearly freezing. Wonderful experience.

It was the last great viewpoint in our silk route tour, the beauty is world class. Did not take Yak ride, but recommended, it is a protected and spiritual place. Food option is limited to a canteen at the lake level. So it is recommended to get snacks at the higher level. The ropeway was closed when we visited.

It was a very beautiful location , nathula has 3-4 places to visit . Temi tea garden monastery,char dham Sai mandir rope way.. each point has its own beauty. Must visit places. Love being there. The natural view you will feel is a very good experience on the way.. and the clouds over the char dham temple will give you a kailash parvat feel. Inside the main temple there are a lot of sculptures of God Shiv about their marriage and all. You will feel very positive here ..

Visiting Nathula pass is an experience in itself. Visited here with family in January first week. My younger daughter started having breathing. I too got breathing issues when I quickly ran on the stairs after 14000 feet. You need to be really careful with high as altitude.. Do not exert too much too fast.. Take it easy and keep yourself covered in cold weather. You have to register online with Sikkim Govt and get travel card and find a travel agent to do the rest of the approvals one day in advance. Once on the top you can see China post.. If the weather is good you can even see China army personnel on the other side.

Nathula pass is india china border and the security is very strict around. only few vehicles are allowed per day on pay basis. They charge 4k per vehicle, we can go to the top which is the highest point and luckily we had snow fall during our visit. we can view the office where both indian and chinese military officials sit and discuss. It is a beautiful experience give a try.

"My spirit soars where the air goes thin." This is the highest altitude, I have ever been to, 14,140 feet, almost half the height of Mount Everest. The experience at Nathu-La Pass through which the old silk route went across China is absolutely incredible. An emotional swing of patriotism, because it's a border with China and ecstasy, knowing you are witnessing a place seeped in historical relevance.

Must Experience this location once and see how beautiful it is in its own way where one can witness China just beside them, and how our Indian Soldiers were doing their duty religiously in that freezing temperature a Big Salute to them

Nathula pass is located in the old silk route, connecting Sikkim to China's Tibet autonomous region. It's one of the highest motorable roads in India. Nathu means listening ears and La means Pass. Quite literally you can see the indo-chinese border and feel the thrills. Taking photos on the actual border is strictly prohibited with actionable steps taken from military. Make sure to get the certificate from here at a nominal price. A valid permit is required to visit this pass and only given to Indian Nationals, so do carry a Valid ID Proof and 2 photos. No worries if you don't have photos, there are plenty photo booths peppered across Gangtok Mall road for exact same purpose.

Nathula Pass is a mountain pass in the Himalayas in between China & India. It is located at an altitude of 14,140 feet (4,310 m) .It is also known for its historic significance as it was a major route for trade between India and Tibet.Visitors to Nathula Pass require a special permit and are only allowed to visit in a group with a registered tour operator. The pass remains closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Nathula Pass is nothing but a dream destination for all travellers. I feel very fortunate that I was able to visit this place which has been on my bucket list for a very long time. To visit Nathula you need to get special permission from the authority. I have booked a package for the day which included Nathula pass, Changu Lake and Baba Harbhajan Mandir and they manage all the permits. The experience was very unbelievable and it was the closest border encounter so far I have ever had where I can see China on the other side, it was amazing to see Chinese military soldiers saying Namaste to us. Overall it was once in a lifetime experience.

The temperature of this area may drop down to -25 degrees Celcius. If you really love snow, you can visit Nathula Pass in winter with thick woollen garments. May to mid-November is the summer season when the temperature ranges around 10 degrees Celcius.

One of the highest pass of India, bordering with China and guarded by Indian army. A beautiful tourist destination of sikkim must visit place if you ever visit Sikkim. The best part of this place is that it is the entrance to mansarovar lake.

Really good place to visit ..This place also taken care by Indian Army..other than temple nothing much here. On the way to temple outside scenery some one could enjoy it. This area also low oxygen area. Infant and elderly person need to be careful . Travelling in these areas some people may have nausea or vomiting .

It's in the memory of Harbajan Singh.. It's not original baba temple, constructed for people to visit. The climate is too good and chill. The roads are excellent. The view is awesome. The lake and yak ride is the best .

We visited the temple in March 2024. It's a high security zone. In memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh who was died fighting against China. Every Indian will be happy to visit here.

Visited this place which is maintained and worshipped by Army,,it's an honour for us to get a chance to visit the Baba Mandir, there is a Shiv idol also which as per statement is the highest placed, to visit you may move early in morning to avoid traffic etc and less tourists, also carry sufficient woolen clothes. Amazing place with a peaceful atmosphere. Temperaure is generally lower than 0 degrees. It has parking space and has a toilet. There is a small snacks corner nearby which serves very limited food, mainly maggi and sandwich. You can find snow here, gloves recommended. Also the elevation makes it difficult to breathe for certain people so plan accordindly.

This is not a temple of God but an extraordinary soldier who had taken a pledge to serve the country even after his death. Yes, this temple is build in respect of soldier who passed away years back but still stayed on army rolls till he retired. After he died and his body was not found for days due to snow all around, he came into dream of his fellow soldier and told whereabouts of his body. From that day onwards he comes into dreams of soldier and tells about preparedness and mischief of neighbouring enemy china. He kept on receiving all dues from army till his retirement age even after his death. People come here with great faith. One to to respect this faith and appreciate the vibrant culture from which we all belong. The temple is fully managed by Army.

As one lands at this location one hears very invigorating songs expressing ones love for the nation,. The shrine itslef is very well kept and manged by the Indian Armed forces. As you enter one is overwhelmed by the divinity that surrounds the memorial. I was surprised when I first heard the story behind this place. It's up to you to believe it or not, but the fact remains that it has become a famous tourist spot. This is close to Nathula Pass and after visiting Nathula pass, your tourist guide will take you to this place. The story goes like this, Harbhajan Singh was an Indian Army Jawan, who was patrolling the border and carrying his duty. One day he dies while he was performing his duty, but people notice that his room, his bed all are soiled / being used by someone even after his death. The belief is that he is still visiting this place and guarding the border. So, the locals have built a temple like thing around his living room with his artifacts. Everyone visit this place to pay homage to this great soul.

The new Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple is situated at the snow valley of sikkim. It is a new baba temple it made in down side of the hills where people can visit in extreme weather conditions. The old Baba Temple is difficult to visit in winter cause of heavy snow fall and road closures. So it is also same temple made in this place for visitors. This place is snow place and here one memorial also situated of the serving army units in this place. Here’s one canteen of eatables and refreshments are available.

Popularly known as Baba Mandir (at an altitude of approx-13123 ft), this is also a must visit place along with a visit to Changgu Lake and Nathula Pass. The Baba Mandir is a "Samadhi of Harbhajan Singh" who served as a Sepoy in the Punjab Regiment of Indian Army. This place will definitely make you feel Patriotic. One can enjoy the great panoramic view of the mountains from this place.

The place is really pretty. You know you when you want to see something different. It’s a small conservatory so if you not into flowers or gardening so maybe it’s not a place for you. Flower Exhibition Center is an amazing place we visited on the way to Nathula Pass. This Flower Exhibition Center showcases all types of flowers from different parts of Sikkim. Some of the rarest types of flowers are also showcased here. Though it is a small center it has varieties of flowers. This center also has different types of orchids too. This centre opens at 9 am in the morning. It remains open till 5 pm in the evening. Nominal entry fees has been charged. ₹20 per person. Once in a year they arrange an exhibition and many people around the country visit this centre. You can take a cab from Gangtok and it won’t take much time.

Flower collection was very average at the time of my family visit there. Sikimeas dresses are available here for rent.Is a flat stretch of road exactly above Gangtok Town and if you’re into floriculture, an hour or two will pass by in the blink of an eye. Sikkim’s weather conditions are conducive to orchid cultivation and you will lose count of the number of varieties you spot at Ridge Park. A gazebo for travellers to rest while walking this stretch is a great addition for those simply wanting to get a feel of Gangtok. The Annual Orchid Show takes place below the Ridge Park at the Flower Exhibition Centre (FEC). While the greenhouse might look modest in size, once you step in you are lost among a variety of colours. Flowers pop up in every nook and corner.

Extremely beautiful flowers on display here. Sikkim seems to have a LOT of vibrant flowers. The entry ticket costs just Rs.20 per person. You can also buy some flower bulbs if you are enamoured by any particular variety. The 20 rupees admission goes towards entering a greenhouse with some selection of plants all for sale. You will be asked to buy plants before entering. The outside garden which looks like it would make the entrance worth it, is locked, however, you can see it for free by walking by. Save your money unless you plan to buy the plants from this location. There is no information, history, etc.

OMG, the sight itself is outstanding! First, there is this century-old teakwood house rearranged into Floral Culture. This beauty with the lush garden was inspired by the western influences at that time. So to speak colonial-style serves her well, with elegant balcony, big garden and direct approach to the canal. Back in time, the most important houses were situated near the canal However, the canal here is not in big, it still is. No matters how cool this house is, the real gem is at the back of the house – the garden.

This place is quite small so it took me less than 10 minutes to walk around. But the ticket is cheap only 20 rupee. If you have no any plan to do, you can visit here.

Nothing exceptional in the greenhouse.that one pays some 20 rupees to enter. The garden around is.much better with a lovely collection of flowers and plants. There's a gazebo built in the garden in the old sikkimese style which is beautiful

Good and lovely place, i think this a average place for visit but as a mini time pass, if you have some little more time with more approaching effects on the closing movement day time then you should be go there for one or half hour with your most friend.

I think this is one of the less touristy places compared to Ganesh tok. I found this place as very peaceful and you can sit and meditate for hours. On a clear day you will see stunning views of the Mt Kanchenjunga. The place is a bit outside the city limits so make sure you ask for it while planning the trip.

Beautiful places situated few km apart from the city. Mainly a temple of lord Hanuman ji. One point among the list of sight seeing in Gangtok. Parking, Toilets, Drinking water all facilities are available for free of cost. U have to reach the temple by a no of staircase. Scenic beauty of this place is really awesome. Moreover this place is under maintenance of Indian armed force.

This is the highest point of in Gangtok and have a quite beautifully built Hanuman ji and Ram lala temples. It is just a 10km drive with the last 2.5 KM of very steep drive on single road, however the roads are in good condition. The temple as well as the canteen of the temple are mantained by Indian Army. One must try their masala dosa. In the morning if you are lucky you may see Kanchenjunga mountain from this top. Overall a peaceful place away from the hustle bustle of the city. Do carry an umbrella as it may rain anytime here...

This is a temple dedicated to Lord Shri Hanuman . Situated near Tourist Facilitation Center on the way to Nathula Pass. From Gangtok's MG Marg it takes hardly 30 Min to reach here . There are 2 different in same premises, one is main temple for Lord Shri Hanuman while other one is Ram Sita Temple . There is a beautiful view point along with the temples and below of view point there is the gallery which visualizes the life incident of Ram Sita in 'BANABAS' where they met Lord Shri Hanuman Ji and 'Ravan' was killed. You can also avail drinking water facility here if you need.

The legends has it, Hanuman flew down to this very spot to rest while flying with Sanjeevani (herb) Mountain from the Himalayas to Lanka to save Lord Rama's brother, Lakshman.

Hanuman temple is dedicated to lord Hanuman, and maintained by the Indian army. It was established in 1952. According to the locals, when Hanuman was flying to Dunagiri (mountain) which had the life saving herb Sanjeevani to save Lord Rama's brother Lakshmana, he rested in the spot for some time where his temple now lies. But according to our guide, someone from the ministry had a dream about the same and that’s why the temple is here. Anyway, the temple is a good spot to visit. Must take laddu parshad.

Nice place to visit. Just on the outskirts of Gangtok City. Beautiful location and nice view from the top. Developed and maintained by Indian Army. The vegetarian only canteen is also available here which is managed by Army personnel. selected food items available on reasonable rates and packaged foods/drinks available on MRP.

This is probably the best stop in 10 point sightseeing. I belive this place is not included in 7 point sightseeing. Very clean and peaceful. Well maintained! Highest point in gangtok sightseeing so the view from this place is just amazing. Don't throw trash and keep the temple clean. There's a small room which depicts the story of temple.

Beautiful place of worship. Systematic and tidy as this area is maintained by the Indian Army. Does get super cold here near the temple as it is on the peak of a hill. Everything here is self service.

While returning from Nathula Pass our cab driver stopped at Ganesh Tok (Vinayaka temple). Wonderful Ganesh temple and we have to climb 50 steps to reach the temple. We enjoyed food from small eateries at the bottom selling tasty momos, veg pakoda etc. Nice place to visit.

The place has a magnificent view of the mountains from the top. Even if you do not get to see the Kanchanjanga still worth a visit. Best to go early hours in the day. One will have to climb few stairs to reach the top deck and then there is another deck one storied higher which is approached through the souvenir shop. The charge for the upper deck is rs 20/-. The souvenir shop has a good collection of gift items. Also there are lot of food stalls around the place.

Good place but expecting more. Near to the main road.. But one point is that there is a restaurant at Tashi View Point which really worth to be told to everyone. Please go and try their puri, momos and veg Maggie. Its just awesome!

Not a must visit place, but falls on the way back to Gangtok while return from Hanuman Tok and other places. It has a good view of Gangtok and overlooks a scenic road passing nearby. It is a good place to go in winters.

On a good clear day, you can see the Himalayas, esp Kanchenjhanga. We went around 11:15am in mid-March, and while you can see the mountains, it was too bright to get good photos. So maybe going between sunrise and 9am or around sunset would be a better idea. For just Rs.10 per person entry fee, you can climb higher and get a better view. We carried our own binoculars. There's a guy who stands with a telescope/binoculars if you want closeup views. While the viewpoint is great, businesses inside it make customer experience tiresome. I'm not saying people shouldn't make a living off the tourists, but a persistent sales pitch isn't something I enjoy.

You can visit here to enjoy a clear view of mountains or take some snaps..although our luck was not in favor for clouds.. But I'll suggest to avoid if uncomfortable with stairs.. There are lots of points to enjoy such view in Gangtok..

Wonderful place . The best months to get a view of the Kanchhenjunga mountain range are nov. dec. Jan. Feb. For the best view spend 10 rupees for a ticket that will allow u to go to the top of the building that is situated there

Scenic beauty and clear view of himalayas if clouds are clear. But most of the time its foggy climate. This place is at some height from the road so view is clear and there is a snacks shop for some tea or coffee.

Great Spot to capture pictures with your family and friends. Waterfalls are undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking natural wonders. The sight of water cascading down the rocks creates a serene and peaceful environment that leaves a lasting impression on anyone who witnesses it. A beautiful waterfall is a sight to behold, with its roaring water, lush green surroundings, and picturesque landscapes. The sound of the water is soothing and relaxing, making it an excellent destination for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The spray from the waterfall can also provide a refreshing and cool breeze, which is especially enjoyable on a hot summer day.

A good area to spend time with family. There are a couple of short adventure activities close to the fall which can engage youngsters. There is no place to sit around the fall but I think the fall is best enjoyed if you can venture into the water. There is a Boating area as well which can be a good activity for kids. There is a cafe and restaurant in the premises to cater to hunger pangs.

Ban Jhakri Falls park is one of the must visit places in Sikkim. It is really quite and calm place to go. It is quite big and you can easily spend 3-4 hours here. There is a restaurant inside so you can enjoy the food and the view. For entry you need to pay entry fee but it is really worth it. You will also need to pay Rs 50 if you are taking a car. They have plenty of parking spaces so you can easily park your car. We had great experience and recommend going to there if you are visiting Sikkim.

Great place for a quick refreshment. Amazing view of the waterfall with good & safe photography points. Some adventure sports activities like rock climbing, rappelling, rope way, etc for kids and grownups. There are eateries too for quick snacks and meals.

Nice place in Gangtok. It was a great experience to visit this place recommend by our local guide driver dada and we are quite happy to visit this place. The history of this place is really interesting and full of local believe. Now the area become a park and entry fees for per person 50 rs, for two wheelers 20 rs and for four wheelers 50 rs.. There have some adventurous rides and stunt sports. A restaurant and some small shops are there.

It's a very good destination to visit near Gangtok (bypass road from Ranipool to Gangtok). It's like Rock Garden near Darjeeling. There are 2 3 restaurants/ cafes. There is a gift shop. You have to buy tickets at the entrance. You have to pay extra for car parking. The boating ride is available in a small pool. Some others are also available. Seating areas are available for taking rest.

It's a must visit place in Gangtok. You can see biggest waterfall here in sikkim. It's one kind of park. You have to pay an entry fee of rs 50 each. Tickets and food inside are pricey but the experience you get is worth every penny paid. The fall is beautiful and picturesque. There are few adventure sports opportunity in the premises worth checking out. Roots restaurant served good food but service time was bit time taking due to rush. So, plan accordingly. Nice place to visit for couples n with family. Rock climbing, rope walk and many more exciting activities onsite. It's a Historical place about Tantric who controlled a Dayan by his tantric Vidya and married her. A statue of both is placed there and is quite exciting to see...

Banjhakri Waterfall Park was a fascinating experience. When we got there, everything was calm and beautiful. But after about 20 minutes, it suddenly started raining. We got to see the park in two different ways – before and after the rain. It was really cool to see how everything changed with the weather. Overall, it was a memorable trip that showed us the beauty of nature in different ways.

It's more of a small nature reserve than a zoo. Don't expect to see a lot of animals but bear, leopard, red panda, birds (peacock, pheasants, vulture) This place is best if you cherish walks through nature (flora and fauna). Enjoy the natural habitat and lovely weather.

This place is a botanical garden as it appeared to be when I visited. There are no animals. But the place is beautiful, filled with various native plants and flowers. A wonderful place to take pictures. You can't miss this place if gardening is your hobby.

Do not follow the timings mentioned on Google or the tourism site. This place opens after 9:30 am. And the best time to visit will be the same time as it opens up. Not much animals to see. Red panda and snow Leopard are the only major attractions. You will definitely enjoy the surrounding but only if you visit early as in when the place is not crowded.

Well designed small zoo with few animal & birds. No proper upkeep, cleanness of cages. But the it has good roads and pathways, public washroom, car parking space. A canteen or restaurant with breakfast and drinking water is expected here.

A great place to enjoy and explore. In the birds section no birds were there except peacock and white peacock. To explore it properly you need entire day. Red panda, Tak, Barking deer, and a lot more are there to explore.Opening time 11am. Closing time 3pm. Ticket 25/- pp. If you take your vehicle , then 40/- for cars and 100/- for SUVs. Overall nice experience to say.

This place was one of those where your travel guide will take you as a site seeing place and i have to admit it was the best site seeing place after the monasteries. I personally love observing flowers,trees, forestry etc so this place was like heaven for me! We saw soooo many different types of rhododendrons and other atypical plants! The layout of this zoo is different. You can go with your car and stop and particular points then you can walk to see the animals. Besides this it’s below average. Animals are very less and and everything seems scattered. The only good thing about this zoo is you can see red panda which you will not find in most of the zoos.

Saw red panda, yak for the first time. My daughter was Very delighted to see these animals. Overall the zoological park is brilliant full of nature, walking through the trees is beautiful experience

One should visit once. See many new kinds of himalayan species. Walking distance is more, so senior citizen should avoid but overall very well maintained.

The place is beautiful. But carefull when you are booking site seeing from local travel agent. Usually this place dose not included on the package. They drop you infront of the park and demand extra money when you want to enter the place

A must visit place around Gangtok. Kids will certainly enjoy watching the wildlife & strolling amidst of pine forest. One can easily spot Himalayan black bear, leopard, peacock, red. Panda, wild cats & various species of flora & fauna.

A peaceful walk and cute animals to watch. Animals were a cool bonus for me, I think it was worth it just for walking around.

If you love animals & don't mind a loooonggg hike, do visit this place! The views are great, however there aren't much animals. If you're lucky you can see leopards, red pandas & bears out of their caves/cages.🫢

Visit here in the event that you visit Gangtok, it's a wonderful climate for vacationers, I visited here last year interestingly. This is an exceptionally appealing spot for travelers. Exceptionally gorgeous sloping climate around. There are offices like eating here, to purchase present things you can get them from now. I will come here in the future assuming I trust

If given one word to describe this place, that would be "Serene". Surrounded by forest and if you are lucky you can walk through the clouds. I was here on a rainy day and the cloud cover was wonderful. The visibility, definitely decreases but once you are inside the monastery it hardly matters. Spend some time in the Niravana Cafe, too. Reasonable price. I was regretting my full stomach while I was here.

An absolutely beautiful and tranquil Monastery. The cafe on top has decent food too. But the monastery is absolutely pristine.

Peaceful and beautiful place. Sitting in the great assembly hall will make you fall asleep in less than a minute if you are tired, for others it's an ideal place to concentrate. There is a place to stay for public nearby. Lot of parking place for cars. Also a humble request to all tourists, please do not litter. Beautiful place. We happened to be there during their prayer time and witnessed how beautifully they pray everyday. The view from this monastery is just breath taking. The monks are very very friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

Just an hour's drive from Gangtok, Lingdum Monastery is a Buddhist pilgrimage destination. After visiting the Rumtek Monastry we headed towards another sprawling monastry, amid serene forested hills. The Lingdum monastery symbolizes the Tibetan Buddhist architecture. A huge statue of Lord Buddha is enshrined at the end of the hall; the statue is massive in size with a height of approx five meters. It is spreaded in a wide areas and the monks come there for retirement as learnt. One can find restaurants and eateries nearby. Many movies have been shot there and you get an astonishingly beutifull view. Highly recommended place and it is just around 20 kms from Gangtok and also very near to the Bajhakri falls which tourists visit a lot but skips the monastry.

Well kept monastery which belongs to Zurmang Kagyu lineage. There’s a restaurant and even a souvenir shop. Clean restrooms, parking facility also. But there’s one drawback. You should book a taxi for both the side’s journey. Else you will not be able to find a taxi back to Gangtok from here.

One of the very calmful monasteries I have visited so far . The moment you step inside , you start feeling that sense of calmness. Very beautiful place to visit and I really hope that it remains as such without much crowd .

◾️Place For Inner Peace!!! ◾️Monastery is spread over a vast area and provides fantastic scenic views to the tourists. ◾️The Ranka Monastery was built in 1998 CE and is the seat of Zurmang Charwang Rinpoche who, at present, is considered to be the 12th incarnation of this ancestry.

Great place to visit. You will get a peaceful environment and nice ambience over here. On top of that Buddhist chanting will clam your mind and you will feel refreshed.

Rope way in the city. Walking distance from MG road.. One stop before the final destination. Good Arial view of city.. But the whole infrastructure need a lot of maintenance work. The cable trip does not justify the price they are charging. Can be skipped and go for cable care trips at other places in Sikkim if you are on a holiday trip to Sikkim

A must visit while in Gangtok. The ride (return n ) will need t take more than 5-6 Minutes. It will take you on a breathtaking view of Gangtok city. Ticket cost was 117/- return and it was well spent ✌️

About 800m of rope way that costs about 130rs per person and takes about 30 minutes of your time. The travel time is probably 5 minutes but all the waiting takes time. Gives you a good view of city and it's nice for families to visit. It's not bad but it's not great either. It's a matter of completing it now that you are in sikkim.

It is a small ride on across the city of Gangtok. We need to stand through the ride. Around 15 to 25 people are allowed in a ride. There was a queue when we went. They charged Rs.146 per person. Children under the age of 5 is free.

Gangkot City is breathtaking, well organized and beautifully designed, offering lovely views.The ropeway operates day and night. Buy tickets for a two way ride and patiently wait in the queue for an unforgettable experience.

Too squeezed in the cabin as too many people and couldn’t see the view as it was blocked by people who come in before. It took longer time to buy tickets than riding the ropeway as it is very short distance. Queue for buying tickets was not long but it took long to buy ticket. Not well managed.

Nice experience. Really enjoyable. Every tourist who are going to Gangtok should try these once. We enjoyed a lot there. And charge is also affordable. Maximum staff are bengali speaking people, they are from kolkata. Must try this place. It really give you enjoyment.

If you are in Gangtok, take the ropeway because it’s fun. It’s a short joy ride which brings out the inner child in you. There are no seats inside so you have to stand and enjoy the ride. Watch out for the cable car coming from the other side. That will help you create some interesting videos and reels. Definitely a must visit attraction in Gangtok.

Nice view from the Ropeway when the weather is clear. You will get the City view as well as scenic landscape view from the Ropeway. Tickets are not that expensive. The Ropeway trip is to and fro.

A must visit while in Gangtok. The whole town looks amazing from top. The rates are reasonable and there is a guard present in the cable car to prevent "excited" people from disturbing the balance. The operators take safety very seriously and are always on the lookout for adverse weather conditions. Highly recommended.

It's a 10 minute ride to and fro. There is only car where 24 persons are allowed. It gets crowded and if someone enters late then they might not get the best views. Ticket sales start from 9 am to 6 pm on usual working days. Carry cash. There are two elevators each can carry upto 6 persons.

I was going to skip this because 130 inr seemed like a lot for 8 minutes, however, I stayed in Gangtok longer than originally planned, and Fit it in. You get beautiful Birds Eye view going over rooftops and if the surrounding valleys, and if you’re lucky to have a clear day, Kanchenjunga peak will be visible. You can get off on the other side but cannot renter unless you pay again, or go round trip. The stairs do not go to top. There is only the elevator so I question what safety measures are in effect in case of power outage, earthquake, fire, etc. Toilets are free.

I went there last year, and I think any visitor visiting Gangtok should go there. From up top, one may take in the stunning and picturesque perspective of the entire city. This cable car is spacious enough to fit more than 6-7 passengers even if it lacks a seating area like the other ones. When I go to Gangtok again, I would love to take the ride again.

Visited last year and it’s a must visit place for all the tourist visiting Gangtok. One can enjoy the beautiful and scenic view of the whole city from up top. Unlike the other cable cars this one doesn’t have a seating but is large enough to accommodate more than 6-7 people. Would love to take the ride again when I happen to visit Gangtok next

The ropeway was Well maintained and cleaned.. It moves very slow so it gives you full time to adjust your camera to click the top view of roads, Greenery and environment. It's an amazing experience.

The rope way was really great, we could see the entire view of Sikkim with beautiful and splendid scenery and chilling weather. One time experience that everyone should experience atleast once!! Highly recommended. But the waiting time is very high during tourist season but worth a try if you want to see the view of Gangtok.

To enjoy the beautiful birds eye city view of the whole gangtok city and it's surrounding, you must ride the ropeway . Ropeway station is situated just at the 15minutes of walking distance from Mg Marg while another down station is at deaorali bazar. Now ropeway does not go towards more up but just goes down and comes up . The ticket price for any person above 5 years is Rs 130, for child age 3 - 5 years is Rs 68, for child below 3 years it is free and same for Handicap person. You can book ticket online too as well as from the counter but online booking is valid for same day . There are the lift service to go up floor easily from ticket counter . Stay open from MORNING 8AM TO AFTERNOON 4PM. So must not miss the 10 minute fun ride while coming to Gangtok .

Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is like a special place that tells the story of Tibet. It's like a big treasure chest of Tibetan culture, and you can spend a happy hour discovering all these interesting things. Close to the museum, there's a monastery up a small hill. It's like a peaceful place where people go to pray and find peace. Adding this visit makes the whole experience even more special. It's like getting a glimpse into their spiritual side after learning about their history. One thing to remember is that you can't take videos or pictures inside the museum. Even though you can't capture it on your camera, it helps keep the museum a quiet and thoughtful place. Sometimes, it's nice to just look and enjoy without worrying about taking pictures. So, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is like a little adventure into Tibet's past. It's not just a museum; it's a place where you can feel the history and spirituality of Tibet. Even though you can't take pictures, the memories you make there will be like little treasures you carry with you.

Very interesting place to visit after Do Drul Chorten, it's just 50 meters ahead of the monastery. The place is expansive. One can get to know a lot about Buddhism here as the exhibits kept there have deep roots in Tibetan and Buddhism History. Photography is strictly ban inside the Museum.

Amazing place to witness rare Vajrayana Buddhism artifacts+ Mahayana artifacts. But do get ready to shed a tear or two when you see just a couple of pieces of stones from Majestic Tibetian Monasteries, torn down to pieces by the Chinese Invasion. A couple of stones, that's what is left of Tibet!! Heart wrenching...

The institute is perched in a small forest of birch trees, oak and magnolia. a small wonderful serene ambience. It is one of the most important and famous institutes in the world that does research in the areas of Tibetan language and culture. For me, It was a very memorable visit. I went there by walking and place was so calm and clean. Museum was well kept, arranged and one can easily learn so much about Buddhism. I was amazed by the way it was presented. I also went to library where all books are in tobbet-sanskrit. So I wasn't able to study anything but one gentleman handed me his one of the English book on Buddhism. So, I read whole book sitting in library.. My whole day was spent well there and I came back very happy.

It is situated in Gangtok Sikkim. It is a tourist spot . The place is beautiful. There is a library on first floor but we couldn't visit there because of Renovation going on. On ground floor there is a museum of Budhas life, Tibetan art and culture, currency etc. Ticket price Rs.20/- per person. Time 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Very perticular about timings. they close at 4pm. We reached at 3:50, They didn't charge us the entry fee, allowed us to see for 10 mins, and immediately closed the doors. Entry fee is ₹25 Nice echibition about Tibetan culture.

Well-maintained, peaceful quite place, here human found a huge collection of Tibetan old Manuscripts written on leafs and tree shells. Photography inside is prohibited 🚫, keep quite, and enjoy the view with your eyes 👀

Ticket is 25 rupee per person. Small place but it is interesting.

It is a great place for knowledge and also the environment around it is lovely. It is less then 2km from city center. At the gate you buy ticket to visit the museum but if you only want to walk around the institute you will not need to buy ticket. Ticket cost is rs 25/- and it is worth visiting the museum as it has so much information. Getting hold of a guide it is always better. We did not know until we entered, having a guide will definitely give you more insights to our history. Ask at the gate for a guide though not sure if they are available. Also there is a souvenir shop which is decently priced and a library at the first floor. The place can be clubbed with Do Drul Chorten (Golden Stupa). This is among the best tourist spot in Gangtok city. Possible to walk till here if you are near.

This picture scenic institute is located next to the Do Drul Chorten and very near to the ropeway. It is one of the most important and famous institutes in the world that does research in the areas of Tibetan language and culture. It also has in its premises a museum, a Tibetan library with rich collections and also a reference centre about Tibet and the Himalayas in general. The foundation stone of the museum was laid by the 14th Dalai Lama on 10 February 1957. The whole premises is very beautiful, the architecture of the building is very pretty too.

Unless you have interest in Tibetology or related history and artefacts just avoid this place. The people are very rude and demand that you switch off your phone before entering. The tickets are 25 rupees each and they don't seem to have change at all. It's pretty much a private place and there is a library upstairs too. Unless you have too much time in your hands then visit else avoid.

A truly wonderful place to calm the mind. A Buddhist prayer meeting was going on at the time when we visited. We had a wonderful time at that moment.A peaceful Buddhist temple at hilltop where we need to climb some stairs.. It's white in colour.

Khandal falls before entering Katao. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to enter Katao due to the india-china border control by the Indian Army. Whether you're a local or foreigner, its not allowed. You can however stop by Khanda falls and take in the beauty and picturesque view of the valley.
