The museum has exhibitions on animals in Alaska, history of the Russian-American deal of Alaska, movies about aurora and other topics and some art work; overall, it’s interesting but at a relatively smaller scale. There’s almost no wait when we visited in mid-March, so purchasing tickets in advance might not be necessary. There’s some parking space outside of the museum. The aurora movie was informative and provided some fun scientific context about aurora. The view point outside of the museum was also nice to see the view of mountains in Alaska.

Great stop to learn about Alaskan life and history. There are two floors with lots of art and animal exhibits. Don’t miss the Aurora experience playing in the theater. We really enjoyed our visit.

Our family visited the U of A Museum of the North last weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed our time. There's so many exhibits on display, and every single one of them piqued our interests. This is an awesome place to visit if you want to learn about Alaskan history. There's also a beautiful art museum upstairs. Definitely one of the best museums I've visited. **Disclaimer: The bus isn't on display in the museum yet as of November 2021. It is undergoing repairs, but will supposedly be placed in the museum when finished.**

Amazing place to visit! If you’re in Fairbanks it should be a no brained to add this to your stops. Incredible collections of native and Russian art, as well as beautiful taxidermy, fossils and interactive natural history. Anyone visiting the city should be sure to make this a stop. Only takes an hour or two to see, and absolutely worth it.

A most interesting display of the history of Alaska. Lots of artworks on the second level. Lots to see. Expect to spend at least a couple hours there. Discounted admission for seniors, military and Alaska residents. Clean restrooms. Gift shop at the entry. Lots of parking.

Definitely a must visit stop in Fairbanks. A well laid out museum with great displays and terrific information. It’s one of those places you could visit several times to take it all in. We enjoyed it with the kids

Great museum that tells you a lot about Alaska history. Both recent as in Alaska's involvement in World War II, How the Japanese citizens in Alaska were treated badly pursuant to President Roosevelt's executive order 9066. And It features ancient history such as the types of dinosaurs that roamed Alaska's lands. Kids will especially love this part. There's a mastodon skeleton as well . They also have a very neat exhibit where somebody has extrapolated what the northern lights would sound like. So relaxing just to sit in there and listen.

This place was awesome. So glad we came here on our visit to Fairbanks. So many cool things you won't see anywhere else and a lot of them you're allowed to touch. How often can you handle a dinosaur or mammoth bone?

Museum has great details about Alaska and tundras. Loved their display. Entry was simple and overall a 2 hour good time to spend and learn. There are many puzzles and activities for children. All the displays were well managed and very informative.

Nice stop in Fairbanks. The exhibits are good and cover a wide range of Alaska topics. The aurora film was quite good but you shouldn’t have to pay $5 more to watch it. Include films with the entrance fee please.

Probably one of the most fascinating museums I’ve been to that specifically looks at a state and region’s history. If you’re a history buff, this is a great museum located in the heart of Alaska. Lots of great information on the people that lived in Alaska far before it was purchased by the US from Russia.

This was a great local museum. If you want to know about Alaskan wildlife or native history its a good place to start without being overwhelming. They show 30 min. movies for $5.00 about the aurora or whales, etc. Parking also quite affordable and theres a shuttle between here, the large animal research center and the test gardens. Perfect for a couple of hours.

This museum gives you the real understanding of the Alaska way of life, now and then. It's a treat for all ages and is an eye opener to the Native Alaskan culture and to Alaska's rich history beginning with it being part of Russia. The Northern Lights exhibit/movie is awesome and we were very surprised to know that the Northern Lights emit some kind of a sound which is played at the movie. The lady at the reception was very nice and greeted us visitors with warmth. The gift store is good too. A must visit for all those who are visiting Fairbanks. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just returned from the University of Alaska Museum of the North and wow, it was an unforgettable experience! This place is a treasure trove of Alaskan heritage and natural history. The moment you step in, you're greeted with a vast array of exhibits that delve into millions of years of biological diversity and thousands of years of cultural traditions. The museum's collection, over 2.5 million artifacts and specimens, is just astounding. Walking through the Gallery of Alaska was like stepping back in time. Seeing Blue Babe, the almost 50,000-year-old mummified steppe bison, was simply surreal. The state's largest public display of gold shimmered under the exhibit lights, capturing the essence of Alaska's rich resources. The Rose Berry Alaska Art Gallery took my breath away with its incredible 2,000-year spectrum of Alaska art. From ancient ivory carvings to contemporary paintings and sculptures, the depth and diversity of Alaskan artistry were on full display. And then, "The Place Where You Go to Listen" – it's unlike anything I've experienced before. It's a sound and light installation that changes with the real-time movements of the sun, moon, seismic activity, and the aurora. It felt like nature was speaking directly to me. We have visited the Museum of the North a couple of times now, and it never disappoints! There are many exhibits that cover a range of important facets of interior life, but the real stunner - in my opinion - are the art exhibits! This place features a LOT to take in. Be prepared to spend several hours going through all the exhibits!

Best museum in Fairbanks! Exploring the variety of animals that have existed and thrived in Alaska was an enlightening experience, with exhibits so lifelike and impressive. After my visit, I remain in awe of how Mother Nature has nurtured every precious species.

I make it a point to visit any and all museums wherever I go - this one did not disappoint - the grounds are spacious the exhibits are packed with a lot of information, the gift shop fun. when I visited they had an open house and had different departments open for the public to see behind the scenes & speak with staff.

My husband and I had a great time at the Museum of the North. The ticket price of $20 seems reasonable given the quality and collection of exhibits provided on the Alaskan wildlife and local history. Though my personal favorite were the microscope stations with the various insects in resin; we also spent quite a while inspecting our nails and hair strands, which proved to be highly interesting under the lens. Note that as of the date of this review (per their website), parking is $.75/hr. or $5/day but is free after 5pm and on weekends.

Definitely make this your first stop if you visit Fairbanks! They have information and brochures available for many local companies, which is helpful for planning what you might want to see or do in the area. The little museum is fantastic - it's an absolute wealth of knowledge on the city's early history, and it also provides a realistic view of life in the bush. They have a gift shop in the building too. Check out the antler arch while you're there!

With a guide like Jerry from Explore Fairbanks, we had a great time here! Fun learning experience with TV's, original artifacts and complete Alaskan scenes set up for a better understanding of Alaska's interior. A visitor centre with clean modern washrooms - even if the gender signs were new to me! Very Alaska-centric! Plenty of maps and local information. The staff was eager to assist visitors and had lots of accurate advice. The gift store was closed on my 2 visits - I guess I shall have to return. .

A great visitors centre with a lot of information of places to visit around Fairbanks. The interactive gallery was a great way to understand the history and culture of the area. Also has a gift shop and clean restrooms. The Antler arch is close by.

This was my first activity upon arriving in AK and it was the perfect starting point of my vacation. I went for the museum aspect and was surprised to find it free to explore. If available, sit through the 1 hour movie. There are tons of brochures and maps of the area, and plenty of people happy to answer questions. The little gift shop was also nice. I am a slow museum visitor, reading all of the plaques, and spent about 1.5 hrs not including the movie time.

This truly needs to be your first stop in Fairbanks when visiting. There are different short-form films that show for free at the center, they are totally worth watching. The folks who work there are so friendly and helpful. Very informative overall.

Like a mini-museum, many exhibits and documentary videos of past residents are displayed here, making people easy and fun to learn the history and lifestyle of them. Various guides, booklets, and maps of different cities are provided for free. Staff here are very nice and helpful, giving good suggestions on your trips in Alaska.

We came here to kill time before a red eye flight, on the recommendation of a 30-year Fairbanks local. We weren't expecting much for a free visitor center, but we were so impressed by this place. It's modern, clean, and vast, with genuinely interesting and immersive exhibits, as well as a movie theater showing interesting history and culture (the theater itself was far more comfortable - and empty - than the $20 Museum of the North's theater which we had just come from). There is also a small shop featuring amazing artisan crafts by first nations people. Overall this is an excellent place for anyone with spare time in Fairbanks looking to warm or rest up after a late night chasing Aurora before a red eye flight. Highly recommended.

This is truly one of the most extensive public parks that I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are many different exhibits for people with all interests, not to mention that it's all very affordable considering the activity level you experience. The vendors here, to me, do a wonderful job of embodying what Fairbanks history is really about. Public parks in different cities should strive to provide their citizens with experiences similar to this one!

Good place to check out and take children. Love the colorful cabins, the pioneer flight museum, and the friendly staff and shops.

We enjoyed it and would go again. Lots of interesting historic buildings and museums,and its free. The Salmon Bake restaurant looked really good. We were just not hungry enough. You can also camp your RV there for $12. Also free potable water

This place might be a better start then the Visitors Museum. The think we liked most was the friendly people in charge , always telling us much more than an information book could give. The shops offer good price products and I highly recommend this tour. Haven’t been at the train because it is noise. MUST GO PLACE for an understanding of how Fairbanks became a town from a forest.

Saving and sharing the history of Fairbanks! Some of these cabins are breathtaking and I love seeing how big the S.S Nenana is!! Something things have been overgrown or down for repairs but this park is still incredible. Highly recommend!

We went to Piner Park as part of our ticket to salmon bake. What a Great park area, they had lots of antique machinery, lots of interesting stories on easy to read plaques, some nature with a small duckpond.(there was a small family of ducks, with probably five or six ducklings) Lots of picnic tables, the salmon bake buildings were set up great, good use of electronics so that once we paid they simply looked up our name and served us immediately. We made the comment, that if we ever did a Alaska cruise again, we would start in Fairbanks and give ourselves a couple of days to explore this town. I saw a nice walking path along the river, well-maintained park setting, had some of the stationary exercise equipment along the way. I saw lots of little mom and pop shops for dinner, crapes, and other eating establishments. Pioneer Park had an an area, that included several buildings that were re-creations of the original town, each was a little shop whether candy, saloon, etc. We went to a play, show, at The Palace which was located in the same area. Overall we had a great time, we overheard many others with the same sentiment!

Lots to do and something for everyone. Salmon Bake is awesome. Palace Theater was very entertaining.

Any season, Pioneer Park (known to locals as “Alaska Land”), is a must stop location. They have motorhome overnight parking, eateries, history, quaint shops, and many things to see. There’s a wonderful play area for children, a carousel, a 3 hole disc golf course, and small miniature golf course. Frequent festivals and special events take place at this park throughout the year.

Really cute recreation of original downtown Fairbanks. Has actual historic buildings, boat, train and other items . A playground,and a train ride that goes around the park. Food and gift shops available.

This park was wide open and a nice place to walk around. A great place to take your kids it seems like as there are swings and a play area. There were cute cabins all around with shops inside but most of them were closed before noon on the week day. I went to the air museum inside the park and absolutely love it! Lots of history and airplanes to look at, along with aviation history in Alaska.

Cool place to walk around. None of the stores open until noontime. So although the park is open early don't expect to go in any buildings or shops. The Park itself is very peaceful to walk around before the shops open and you can still see all of the old equipment and cabins. The restrooms were overflowing and could use some cleaning and plumbing work.

Great place to grab Soulvaki or other pleasure foods, park for your children, and Museum. This is a half-day experience so come with good shoes and by all means bring your fur babies.

Its a park. Seemed well maintained. Got to cuddle some puppies from Noble Paws. Some cool photo ops and overall pleasant. Wouldn't go at night though. Also pretty sure there was like an AA meeting of some sort, and had 2 people say they were street people and invited us to their room on the boat. Just a bit weird. During summer may have much more things going on.

What a gem! The collection would be fantastic in the lower 48, to find it here in Alaska is simply amazing. The cars are one of a kind and in amazing condition. The fact that almost all of them run (only 3 didn't when I visited) at least once a year is almost unbelievable, except, there are videos of them running throughout the museum and they're planning on giving rides on one of them later in the month. Truly worth the visit.

This place is truly a hidden gem. Fantastic history of automotive industry with period correct clothing on display with many of the vehicles. They also have a few unique vehicles designed and built by Alaskan citizens to handle the cold and unforgiving environment. Very large self guided tour, so plan to have a great day here!

Wow! A great collection of vintage automobiles, of the 1930s and older. In addition, many many period clothing is displayed on mannequins. Most of the cars are beautifully restored. All of the cars run, and are driven on occasion. Winter hours are limited to only being open two days a week.

Absolutely loved visiting Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum with my family. The collection is unbelievable, such an exceptional collection of restored antique cars. The knowledge staff/volunteers make the experience even better. If you are considering visiting and love cars & history, this museum is a gem - definitely make the trip out.

This museum was really well thought out. The classic cars are the really OLD classic cars. Which was amazing. We spent about an hour at this stop, but can imagine that you will spend more if you stop and read everything.

It's amazing to see such automobile museum in this area. If it is a big city, then it might be understandable, but in Fairbanks, I don't think it is easy to have such huge collections. Very nice place to visit to see antique steam and electric cars. Well maintained!

Such an interesting museum. We were expecting to see a collection of beautiful cars, but were blown away that it seemed almost every one was incredibly unique. Amazing to see some creative technological innovations and read stories from their past. They had the perfect amount of exhibits and signs that I didn’t feel overwhelmed. The docents there were SO passionate about the cars. They would come by and tell you neat facts that may not have been on the sign, or elaborate on things that were hard to understand. All of the cars were restored to showroom condition too!

Absolutely loved this museum. The cars were beautiful, but I firm's myself reading more about the clothing from each time period. I enjoyed how this museum was set up so you walk through the evolution of cars and clothing. The details in the information plaques was quite entertaining. Definitely a must see when in Fairbanks!

A beautiful antique car museum with 80+ cars on display. Tickets are $18 for adults, and we were there for about 1.5-2hrs. These cars are all restored and maintained by the museum, and almost all can be driven on the roads! The employees and volunteers and so knowledgeable and friendly - they truly helped answer so many questions and teach us so many fun facts. This is truly a one of a kind museum and should be visited by all people (especially car enthusiasts!). Make sure you plan your trip in the winter since the hours are much more limited.

This was an amazing visit. So many cars and they all run except 3. The best collection of old cars I've ever seen. In the Spring and Summer time they drive them and give rides to guest. Truly an amazing place to visit and see. The music they play is the music from the time of the cars. They also display many outfits that were worn in the good old days. I saw over 80 cars here today. If you visit Fairbanks, you must stop by and visit Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum.💯 Ask for Steven, he will teach you some history.

Beautiful museum with history lining each walkway. Whether you enjoy cars or fashion or simply want to better understand the origins of your favorite auto related things, this is the place. Wonderful people at the front entrance allowed for a pleasant experience full of interesting information.

Beautifully done and well maintained museum. The blend of history and design, art and technology, makes this place a living TED Talk. The docents are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and with the mix of original fashions of the times, photographs, and short videos, there is something to entertain everyone. Limited winter hours require you to plan a bit more carefully: don't go if you're short of time no less than 2 1/2 hrs can do it any kind of justice and frankly, I could lose a day there! It is entirely worth the entrance fee.

Can't say enough good things about this place. We had heard good things but we were still skeptical. But it is the best and most unique auto/historical museum we have ever seen. It is a must go to for everyone. The vehicles and historical clothing are extraordinary. There are many 1 of a knd items. We didn't want to leave. The Docent Steven is the most knowledgeable person you will ever meet. He could answer every question and probably had a video on his phone for more additional information. If you are anywhere near Fairbanks it is definitely worth it.

If I could give this museum 10 stars I would. It was the most enjoyable auto museum I've ever been too. It is so unique in that it has the complimentary antique clothing /accessory collection to go along with the gorgeous automobiles. We went on an Alaskan cruise and then did a week of travel by land and call me crazy but what I remember the most and thoroughly enjoyed was this museum. I dearly wish it was somewhere in the United States and not in Alaska. I would dearly love to visit it again but it's so far I don't think I will again get the pleasure. ( I do still have my beautiful photos I took on my phone)The automobiles were so pristine and beautiful huge and diverse selection of very clean autos. There were some novelty cars, some rare, one tiny and extreme luxury. The museum was on the ground of Wedgewood resort and thank goodness we stayed there or I could have missed out on this gem. The clothing collection was extensive and in perfect condition. Lots of variety and gorgeous accessories. There were vintage driving and hiking outfits as well as bejeweled gowns and even some accessories made from beetles shells that had a moment in style history. If anyone is even near Fairbanks I highly recommend visiting this gorgeous well maintain and preserved vintage auto and fashion museum.

Fantastic display of old cars, many of them rare. You can spend well over an hour looking at all the beautiful cars. Lots of displays of period clothing too. Lots of interesting facts about each car is displayed.

My 16 year old son and I went to Running Reindeer Ranch for the reindeer yoga. What a beautiful and magical experience!! I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed the practice. The reindeer walked between our mats at first saying hi and then settled in as the practice began. I had a special reindeer that hung out at the back of my mat the entire practice! During the yoga, a Mama reindeer and her baby walked by us and the baby began nursing right in front of us. It was so sweet! The location was gorgeous! During the class there was a calm breeze, dragonflies, and plenty of reindeer to keep us smiling. Bug spray was provided, which was a huge bonus, we weren't even bothered by bugs at all! The yoga instructor was delightful, as were the employees of the ranch. All very helpful. This is a once in a lifetime experience, if you have the opportunity, go!!

We had a wonderful time at the Running Reindeer Ranch! Hiking through the woods with a herd of reindeer was a highlight of our trip. By the end, we each had a favorite - and as a bonus, we met three calves! Tyrone did a great job leading the tour. He and the other employees were knowledgeable, engaging, and made sure that everyone was enjoying themselves. Highly recommend!

We had a great time here. Watching the reindeer take off running when the group had moved was a neat experience. The educational commentary was interesting and kept us engaged.

We did the reindeer walk at Running Reindeer Ranch and it was truly a magical experience. Jane is very knowledgeable about reindeer and we learned a lot! The reindeer themselves are sweet, curious animals. They had no qualms being around people and walking side-by-side with us, unleashed. It was truly a unique experience. The walk began with a sit-down informative session where Jane told us about how her farm was started and demonstrated some differences between reindeer, caribou, and other types of deer. After a quick safety lesson, the reindeer were let loose. After they grazed for a few minutes, the walk began. It was at a leisurely pace through the forest. Jane and her team provided walking sticks for those who needed them and were very helpful in making sure everyone could complete the walk. Though the walk was supposed to last 2.5 hours, I would allot at least 3 hours. The team does not rush and makes sure to answer all questions in order to give guests the best experience. 10/10 would recommend.

What an absolutely wonderful experience! The owner and staff couldn’t have been nicer, we found the whole thing to be very well organized, unique and endearing. The animals are so sweet. It was our five year anniversary and we felt like this was an extra special present to experience. Highly recommend.

The tour is one of my favorite activities in Fairbanks! The pre-tour videos are very informative and interesting. The tour is also full of fun, and the staff are very knowledgeable and passionate. The reindeers seem to be raised in a nice environment with some good level of freedom. We had a good time here! FYI - if you are planning to drive here, the road condition in March might still be pretty icy and slippery, so 4-wheel drive might be recommended to have a safe drive here.

We had an amazing time at Running Reindeer Ranch!! They are super accommodating and helpful. There are walking sticks if you need help on the walk. Seeing the reindeer run around and hearing their family history was so much fun. Their personalities really show! Hot chocolate and cookies were given after and it was great. We will definitely be back!

My mom, sister, and I visited Running Reindeer Ranch in October of 2023! We had the most lovely time. Tyrone, Katrina, and Jack introduced us to the herd and provided so much cool knowledge about reindeer and the dynamics of the herd. We had a lovely walk and the reindeer followed along and let us interact with them. It was truly a special experience and I would recommend it to anyone in the Fairbanks area.

Jane and her reindeer are an absolute delight! She is a wonderful storyteller - very informative and funny all in one. We loved being able to interact with the reindeer as we strolled through the woods. The walk itself is not strenuous. We stopped multiple times along the way to talk about the reindeer and there were benches about halfway through for those who needed a rest. If I ever find myself back in Fairbanks I'll be visiting Running Reindeer Ranch again.

We had so much fun getting up-close and personal with the herd of reindeer ! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable ! The walk was easy with many photo opportunities ! After our walk we were treated to freshly baked cookies and Hot chocolate ! I encourage anyone visiting Fairbanks to put the Running Reindeer Ranch on your to do list you will be glad you did !

MUST DO - we were up in Fairbanks primarily for the northern lights and looking for light activities to fill the days. Running Reindeer is family owned and the staff love these reindeer like they are part of the family. You have free range to pet any members of the small herd on a woods walk (if they walk past you). They teach you all the fun reindeer facts too. Oh btw the walk is in a beautiful birch forest! Cannot say better things about the staff either... Beyond pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable.

We had an amazing time at the Running Reindeer Ranch taking a walk with the reindeer. The reindeer were amazing and the guides were friendly and informative! The cookies and hot chocolate at the end were also amazing! It is definitely worth the time and money! It was a great way to end our trip!!!

So much fun! We really enjoyed our introduction to the Reindeer and our walk with them. This is not one of those places where you see them through a fence, or go into a small enclosure and hand feed them for a minute, this is being part of a herd of 13 Reindeer (and yes, you will know their names and who is related to who), going for a walk through the forest. Lots of photos opportunities. The Reindeer are very sweet and the babies are so soft! Highly recommended!

This is a fantastic educational experience. Jane is very friendly and attentive. It's a sit down learn some facts and then hands on and feet on experience in which you learn about the animals, and about the history of the ranch itself. All the reindeer are very well behaved and are great sports. Very green a peaceful place.

Visited Running Reindeer Ranch for my birthday this October and it was wonderful! The staff and reindeer are great and very friendly! Even Carl….hahaha he’s actually my favorite! I highly recommend visiting! It’s an educational and fun experience to walk through the Boreal Forest and end the tour with hot chocolate and cookies! ! :)

This was one of the most fun experiences in Fairbanks. Our guide was Tyrone and he did a fantastic job educating us about the reindeer and how to enjoy the walk with them safely. Don’t misunderstand, the reindeer are sweet and mild tempered animals, but they are large and have antlers, so you do need to stay aware - also, we went when there’s snow on the ground and you’re going up and down hill- so it can be slippery. With that said; make sure you have the right shoes for this tour! You get plenty of time to visit with the reindeer and take pictures, and at the end they give you hot chocolate and homemade cookies. This was just an all-around lovely experience and if we’re ever back in Fairbanks, we’re definitely going again!

One of the best animal experiences I’ve ever had. The animals are fun and fascinating and beautiful. But the experience is wonderful because of the staff. Lexi and Jace were passionate, energetic and knowledgeable. Those two shared their bond with these reindeer and pulled you inside their world caring for them. Mechanically, it’s perfect. No cages or ropes or restrictions. You’re walking in the woods alongside reindeer in their own environment. At the risk of exaggerating, you actually get to know the animals, whose names you know by the end of your time with them.

02/26/2024 I was pretty uninterested when my friends brought up a reindeer walk honestly, but I'm very glad they swayed me into going. Learning about these curious animals and having them roam freely around you was something else. I highly recommend and will repeat the next time I'm in Fairbanks. Thank you to all the staff for such a great experience!

If you’re near Fairbanks DO THIS! We took our two handicapped daughters to see the reindeer and didn’t know what to expect. There are many places that don’t allow them to participate, though I always inform the staff before booking that we’ll need extra help. The staff at Running Reindeer Ranch went above and beyond to make this an exceptional experience that my girls will never forget! First the reindeer came down the hill to mingle while we were treated to introductions to each one. The staff helped push our daughters’ chairs along the trail so they were able to “walk” with the reindeer. Lots of fun stories and educational information about the reindeer made it fun too! At the end of the walk we were treated to yummy homemade cookies and hot chocolate. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Honestly, this experience was the highlight of our honeymoon! Hubby and I decided to take a visit to see the reindeer but the website was having issues and not allowing us to book a morning appointment. Tyrone called us back and let us know he could accommodate us in the afternoon if we would like to come. I’ve never knew all the things about reindeer and Tyrone did such an amazing job at being friendly, welcoming and allowing us ample time to take pictures and answer all of our questions. At the end of the tour, they provided hot chocolate and homemade cookies and an option to purchase some of their beautiful souvenirs. Highly recommend!

This was an amazing visit. Tyrone and the girls were the best, extremely friendly. . This is a must if you come to Fairbanks. The reindeer are loving life there. Don’t forget your cookies at the end, they are delicious 😋

We loved our visit here. If you’re on the fence about booking this experience do not hesitate and book it! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We had an incredible walk with the reindeer and learned a lot. At the end they provided hot chocolate and cookies. The cookies were so good!!!

This Ice museum is worth visiting when you are in chena hot springs. Very unique experience. Brilliant artistic sculptures. There are ice caves inside where you could stay a night in the ice cold artistic beds. You will have to purchase a ticket in advance to drink the appletini in Aurora bar. The martini glass is carved out of ice and there is a tradition to break the ice glass once you are done with the drink. That was very satisfying 😀

My 1st ice museum and while not very big, and 22 degrees F, beautiful. Get the appletini. Our guide was great. Sorry, I don't remember his name but he is from the south, a firefighter/medic, and conducted our tour in shorts and a T.

I loved the workmanship done on the ice carvings here! It blow your mind when seeing for the first time. They offer drinks here which were extremely costly ($20 per 30 ml) at the time we visited. All different art pieces are beautiful and it surprises you at different places. One great advantage of this location is, you can combine your visit with Chena hot springs and the Aurora viewing (if you’re going during the equinox). Also keep in mind that the nearest gas station from this place is about 30 mins - plan your refueling accordingly. I recommend this place for all visitors in general.

Not really much of a museum. There are a couple of ice carved stuffed which is cool to look at. There is an igloo and a few rooms made of ice. Not bad for 15$. The martini is another 20$. They serve it in a glass made of ice so bring a glove if you decide to go for it. I don't really know why it is a guided tour because the guide only gave us a few lines of info. Not to blame him because again, there isn't much that needs any explaining 😂 They have this ritual at the end where you break the ice glass in which they serve you the martini. Overall, my recommendation would be to go for the $15 ticket but only if you don't have any other plans. Prioritise any other plans you may have over this because you would definitely not feel bad about missing out on this. The museum tour might get you a couple of fun pics. The martini is a tourist trap.

The ice museum at Chena Hot Springs was fun to go into with a group. There were some really old sculptures and they don't update it much unfortunately. I like how they put flowers in a lot of them. They rent it out as a hotel and for weddings too. I recommend getting tickets in advance bc some people in our group couldn't get in. They serve one cocktail in an ice glass which was cool but since I don't drink alcohol I wasn't able to partake. It would have been nice if there was a non-alcoholic option.

I felt this was kinda overhyped. Maybe because I wasn’t really exciting after been to world ice art championship at Fairbanks which was kinda awesome. Maybe kids will like this museum a lot than adults. For adults who enjoys drinking should experience tasting the apple martini in a ice glass where you will actually get to see how the ice glass is made. Paid - 20$ for museum ticket 21$ for maritini (you can’t buy this after entering the museum, so buy the ticket before only!) I suggest you to plan accordingly if you are visiting this place. Because they run the tours at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00 and 5:00 pm only. You are allowed to enter the museum during these timings only.

It is a nice place to visit once if you are curious, but if you had been to the Ice Alaska park or the Ice Art Park, you would feel let down. The guide/bartender was really nice and friendly. The place is small and dark, the lights' effects are nice but not as beautiful as they look during winter in the ice park. The place is cold (if you are not used to cold temperatures, make sure to bring an extra warm coat). They do have coats to borrow . You can see the whole place in 15 minutes or less, I think they sell it as a 45 minutes tour because if you order the extra drink (for additional $19.05) it takes some time to prepare it and drink it, but if you are not ordering the drink in 15 minutes you will be done. The drink was ok, nothing extraordinary, just an overpriced apple martini served in "ice cup."

We went on a tour of the museum in September. We were allowed in for $10 because the electricity had been off for 8 hours, and there had been some damage to the ice works. It was still amazingly beautiful! We were told that in the winter, people would go into the museum when it was 30 below zero outside to warm up.

The resort is awesome and the geothermal tour was great. Would definitely come again, but the ice museum itself had a pretty limited collection of ice sculptures. Lots of architectural I've features like columns and stairs but not much in the way of really intricate ice carving. They do have a bar there where you can order a drink served in an ice glass.

Mind blowing. Everything inside the museum was sculptured in ice which includes tip box, chairs, bar, rooms chandelier, bar glasses and everything.. there are bed room suites available for renting inside the museum.. great experience..

We almost didn't come here because of the hike from Fairbanks but we we're so glad we made the trip - highly recommend! Each tour is scheduled about 2 hours apart. Arrive on time otherwise you'll have to wait for the next one. In our case, we paid $15 pp and enjoyed the natural hot springs until the next tour was available. The tour itself was short & fascinating. You get to explore the art solo and take tons of pictures. When you're done the guide will make you an Appletini, which was delish. They're served in ice glasses you can watch them make. It's not a full service bar, and an appletini is $21 pp plus the admission fee. Our guide, Ann, was hilarious and knowledgeable. If you're driving in from FB, we recommend downloading directions even though it's a straight shot into town. We lost all cell service on the return route for about 35 miles and it was a scary ride home blind.

Ice glass making workshop at the end is the Best part. Very Expensive drink ($20 Each) but worth the experience. (Drink is served in ICE glass) Great to combine this with Chena hot springs & Aurora Viewing, since they are In the vicinity.

We really enjoyed our visit and liked doing the ice museum ($10 each) with the Appletini ($20)! Such a fun, and cold, experience. Glad they have extra coats to share!!! Definitely worth it if you're already coming out this direction or staying at the hot springs.

Super cool experience that was worth the money for sure! I read it can get busy, but we went during the week in January and it wasn't too bad. Even though there were maybe 30 people, somehow it didn't feel crowded in there and you could easily see and photograph everything without people in the pics. The martini was SUPER tasty, but tiny... You would think for $20 they would at least fill the small ice cup, but it was maybe 2/3 full... Still a cool experience and we are glad we got it. This is a must see if you are in the area! We drove 3 hours for this and the hot springs and are so happy we did!

Indeed a once in a life time experience. Fantastic pregame for the hot springs. It’s a 45 minute tour including sitting in the ice bar and have a nicely made martini in your beautiful ice glass. More to see than I had expected - frozen flowers are incredibly beautiful, and the ice sculptures were spectacular. We all enjoyed our delicious Apple martini. Definitely worth a visit, cheers!

This was a cool place to see ice art and have an apple martini while enjoying the museum. Located in Chena Hot Springs Resort, the tour has set times, and they do supply extra jackets if what you are wearing is not warm enough.

Very impressive. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Awesome ice museum and very cool art and carvings inside. Watched a guy carve several martini glasses out of ice, each one took him only a minute.

Ice bar & museum were amazing! Sam our guide was super knowledgeable and witty. We arrived a little late for our 1pm and staff were kind and rebooked us for 3pm. Would recommend doing this tour just allow a good hour to get out to Chena

Cool place with amazing sculptures, but I don’t think it’s worth paying to come inside. If the tour group is large, there might not be enough seats for everyone to sit and enjoy their martini.

The pipeline comes up, out of the ground in the information area. Very good explanation of the processes used to build and maintain the pipeline.

This was a quick roadside attraction I checked out. The information they have posted was good. I really didn't know much about the pipeline prior to this visit. It was interesting to see it. It's quiet and the surrounding environment was very pretty.

While in Fairbanks, be sure to stop and see and read the facts about the pipeline. It’s really cool to see. You can see the actual pipeline and the history and stopping points of the pipeline. This was actually one of my favorite things to do while in Fairbanks. We came here 2 to 3 times, took photos, walked around, etc. we highly recommend coming here!

Pipeline view point isn't the craziest attraction and it isn't for everyone, but it is very cool to stop by and see once while in Alaska! It's interesting to learn about the history and a nice walk along the pipeline.

Not much there. It's a parking lot where you can see a little section of the active pipeline and some examples of equipment to service it. If you want to learn more, check out the Morris Thompson center which has an exhibit on how it was built.

Nice place to see the pipeline above ground and read a little bit about its history, but won't be an activity to fill up a lot of time. We spent maybe 5-10 minutes here and took a couple photos. Not a large space to walk around and tour, but worth a quick stopover.

A nice thing to see for a niche group of people. It's a short drive out of Fairbanks so visit only if you're actually interested in pipelines. Otherwise it's pretty boring.

Very cool learning experience for everyone! I came in with some knowledge of the oil and gas industry, but this was a great learning place to see the construction of the Alaskan pipeline. There’s so much engineering and planning that went into building the 800 miles of the pipelines, taking into account the wildlife and land implications around the construction. It goes above ground and below ground.

The pipeline was a pretty nice side attraction. Not much to do but nice to see and learn about it. Ample parking lot right off the main highway.

Really neat place to see and learn about the pipeline. Fun to see just how big it really is. Information panels are interesting. Easy to get to, near downtown, pretty quiet.

Cool little stop on the side of the road. Definitely worth a stop if you're driving by.

This is a good place to see the actual pipeline without driving too far from Fairbanks. I was on a cross-country trip and figured this would be a good place to see while I’m in Alaska. Lots of information about the pipeline and the work involved in building it available to read here. There are tour buses that come here and that was the case for me when I visited. I waited a little bit and they left and then I was able to take some pictures without people in them

The pipeline was really cool to see. Knowing the history and heritage about the pipeline, it was really cool to see the pipe and be able to go right next to the pipe. There was also a lot of information about how the pipe was made. On top of that, there were a few exhibitions relating to the pipe that were pretty cool to see

Nice place to stop and think of how things evolved as demand of oil increased.

One of the viewpoint for your visit to Fairbanks as it showcase the engineering marvel. Though the stop doesn’t have much to offer except the view of the pipeline.

My sister & I added this stop of places to visit. The scenery was breath-taking. The colors was just amazing. Sad we didn't get to see any birds I. The swamp area or other wild life on the hike but it was worth the hike thru the "forest" The gift shop was closed during the time we visited but, this stop is on the list for our return trip to Fairbanks.

Nice place to go for a walk! Very friendly staff at the Visitor Center! We visited in April, so we couldn't see any bird ! But we enjoyed a lot.

Absolutely beautiful! Didn't see many birds, but probably the wrong time of day/ season. The trails are awesome, and I enjoyed going around the board walks.

I biked here on a cloudy Monday, I went to the visitor center first, there is a bunch of taxidermy over there, birds and foxes. Then I walked through the trail, i wore a T-shirt and shorts which was not too wise bc there were countless insects especially mosquitoes waiting in the bushes for some blood and it was drizzling suddenly so I headed back and I didn't finish my trail, I promise I'll visit again and maybe bike the trail, beside mosquitoes it was very walkable and lovely, also I see there is a place to lock your bike and parking is very convenient.

The walk would be fabulous if they had the money to fix the boardwalks. It was tricky to walk on these

Great for a little hike or picnic, lots of open space, definitely bring bug spray there are a lot of mosquitoes here, peaceful and quiet

This is a nice place to take a walk. The first week of September and plenty of Sandhill Cranes still here preparing for their winter journey. If you enjoy birds its a must stoo location. Take time for the visitor center as well. Lots of stuffed species to examine and a couple of knowledgeable volunteers who can answer avian questions. Bring a good lens or binoculars when you visit and you will see plenty. Also a great walk through a Boreal Forest if you happen to be from the east, its kind of cool to see. Getting chilly so dress to be outside.

Would recommend!!! Went for the morning free guided tour of the premises. Mostly for bird watching, but was a little bit of everything, Birds, History, Animals, Gold Rush, etc... Was a lot of fun. Takes about an hour. Dirt trails, but flat, slow going, so can accommodate pretty much anyone, except I don't think a wheel chair would make it. Need big spray head to toe!

This place is a must if you’re visiting Fairbanks. It’s amazing and overall just beautiful. We enjoyed the walk and scenery so much we had to go a second time! It was a gloomier day compared to the first. Can’t wait to visit again! I’d also like to add that these were taken September 2021 lol.

Great place close to town to see the lights.

Creamers Fields in the perfect place to go for a nice and easy day hike with the family. They have a wide variety of trails that are mostly stroller accessible for those with little ones, and some that are slightly more challenging. The boardwalk trail is amazingly beautiful, but has some areas that are difficult to traverse as the boardwalk is broken in some places and requires you to jump to the next section. Lots of fun though and doable with small kids. If you have not been to this gem of a place yet, you are missing out! Very easy to social distance despite the amount of people who visit. This place is also incredible for bird watching, and has a lot of local history with the old barn and farm house! Go check out Creamers Field today!!

Big pasture with easy paths inside and around it. Folks strolling and running on them. And WONDERFUL opportunity for winged wildlife. Whooping cranes, Canadian geese in this time of the year. Prepare long lenses!

We enjoyed the board walk on a light snowy day. The lake and the forest were colorful and pretty. Saw many people walking dogs there. Also Mark from the visitor center gave us a short educational talk about crane which was fun too!

Andy is a super star! He was very good in demonstrating ice sculpting and he had great collection in the museum. We also enjoyed movie on northern lights symphony! It’s very interesting. Kids loved ice sculptures and the slide.

I thought the ice museum was really neat! There's a short film in the beginning to show how the ice is harvested then you walk through and see different ice sculptures. They even have an ice slide you can go down!! At the end there's an ice sculpturing presentation!

Andy is very hard working. He is the one welcoming the guests. Also, preps people for the slide. The slide was really fun. You can also see that he is very dedicated with his work. He also did the ice carving exhibit. It was worth it for the price. I have seen the reviews here saying that they expected more. There was no long wait as soon as we went there we had a spot already. I love his creations as well. I think we should really help people with small businesses so they can thrive and survive. I give kudos to him because ultimately it was a one man show. His work of art for ice sculpting is also very good. Thank you Andy. I appreciate everything you do. 👌🏽🫶🏼

The ice museum is small but cool! A little smaller than anticipated, but love supporting the artists and really enjoyed seeing all of the sculptures. The slide was also really fun, we did it like 4 times each. We unfortunately missed the show/movie by a few hours, but I’m sure it adds to the experience. The worker at the front was very friendly! A great stop for anyone visiting downtown Fairbanks!

We paid for the ice museum and aurora movie. It was cold in the theatre, while I like the cold it's harder to stay warm when you are sitting still for 45 min. I highly suggest dressing warmer before you go in. We watched the ice carver carve into a block of ice. He was fast! It was awesome to see.

Fairbanks Ice Museum is a very awesome experience!! It was fascinating to learn how they sculpt the ice and get it ready along with how long they can keep it. It is an interactive museum which is beyond awesome, you can sit on the animals, in the sleigh and ride down the ice slide (lots of fun)!!!

It’s important to note this review and it’s pictures are based on a trip there in December 2022. This is because it this time the award winning ice sculptor had not “renewed” the sculptures. It was quite amazing to see how some things sublimated into something else. Some things were entirely unrecognizable. It varied from just sad to darkly surreal. And to be fair, the receptionist gave us advanced warning that things were *aging*… This is to be expected because people are warm, they breathe everywhere, they open doors, and against better judgement- kids lick, causing temperature fluctuations and deformations. I don’t blame the museum one bit. It was just weird because I thought a few days before Christmas would have been prime time for a place like this; however, thinking on it, this might be more of a summer vacation type attraction. I would give this place a chance during a different time of the year, especially due to the honesty of the receptionist lady. There is a fun “ice” slide in the museum. There are little plastic sleds you can use to slide down on, but during our visit we were basically sliding down on the exposed insulation. It still worked though and everyone had fun. The building itself is pretty cool and has really interesting non-ice art and sculptures before the auditorium. I don’t doubt that this would have been a much better experience during another time of the year.

This is a small, well appreciated addition to fairbanks. I saw where some reviews thought it costs a lot for the time it takes to see it all. We made sure to thoroughly look over and interact with each carving and appreciate the talent invested. Id also bet that the people who think it costs too much dont run a business and pay for the utilies and mortgage associated...imagine essintially running a deep freezer the size of a theater. On our trip we stopped in because we had never been to an ice museum and I'm glad we went. You can tell the artist enjoys their craft and it shows. So much detail in the carvings. I liked being able to interact with the carvings and the sled ride was fun. Worth the visit!

Spectacular show! The ice museum was a lot of fun too. The ice carving artist was wonderful. The people who run this place are great! I heard the owner offer some tourists a ride so they didn't have to pay for a taxi. Super nice people!

I absolutely loved this place. You can touch the ice sculptures and sit in them. There is something special for the kids an ice slide! Absolutely recommend this place. Affordable and a fun experience.

This is an awesome museum to stop into. The host shows you a video then allows you to interact with the ice sculptures. You spend time interacting with the sculptures then he demonstrates how ice sculpting is done. This is a great place to go and should be on your list when visiting Fairbanks.

Such a fun stop! We were able to complete the experience before we left for our flight. It was the perfect way to end our trip with one more fun activity.

“Museum” is a little overstated for this attraction. The staff were nice, and the live craving was fun to watch, but other than that, this experience was underwhelming for the price. The video played at the beginning is just a slideshow of ice sculptures, and no educational information on the history of the activity, techniques, or tools. After this video you are guided into a room that wraps around the auditorium and contains ice sculptures — several of which were worn and partly melted, missing much of the detail that makes these sculptures interesting in the first place. The highlight of this part of the tour is the ice slide in the corner, and the fact that they offer winter jackets if you’re in the museum without one. Andy, the artist, then does a live carving which is neat to watch — he was singing while carving which was very charming. They only offer this “guided” tour experience and it costs $15, but if you’re in town at the time of the Ice Championships thoe tickets cost $17 and are significantly better value for your money. Okay, but not exceptional.

The ice museum was not at all crowded,they have an artist who gives a demo of ice carving, we got to see that. They show a short movie in the beginning about how the ice carvings are done from the scratch. They have an ice slide, which is a fun activity for the kids and adults. They have some ice carvings on which we can sit. It's too cold, they give you jackets if you need one. It's a good place to visit with kids.

Fun, quick stop for kids of all ages, including kidless adults - ha! I don't think the cost per person is appropriate to the scope of the activity, and therefore could have been skipped. However, I found the whole setup inside an old theater to be quite clever. No need to buy tickets in advance, I just walked in.

Such a fun experience for the whole family. You can touch all of the ice sculptures, and even sit on some of them! They provide jackets for use during your time inside, and they also have a terrific slide made entirely from ice. If you're looking to snap a few selfies there are tons of photo opportunities with unique, larger than life sculptures. I was a little skeptical at first, but my family and I had a wonderful time with many smiles and laughs. A little museum, but worth the visit.

My son found this online and being tourists, sounded interesting. We were lucky to arrive right before the start of the show, so no waiting. It starts with a movie that I found interesting, but keep in mind if going with kids. We visited in September, so we were appropriately dressed but they did have extra jackets if needed. After the movie you can go and view the sculptures that were on display and they were neat and nicely lit up. Also had a slide you could go down. Lastly was a live demonstration and the sculptor was super nice and amazing. It is a nice activity to do!!

Watch an interesting video before we actually got to see the ice sculptures. They have an indoor ice slide. You’ve GOT to go on the ice slide!!

Loved it. They have a tour that starts every hour that is about 50m. There's a short movie and then you're introduced to all the ice. Andy, the ice sculptor although still working on his English like others mentioned is a really nice and friendly guy and is excited to show off his work. Not to mention he does a short demonstration which is neat. I would definitely reccomend going here if you have kids, lots of photo opportunities.

The slide is a blast and a must do. We loved looking at the art and the artist even does a demonstration. Which is great to see how much work is put into each sculpture.

The train ride to Seward was amazing! The view spectacular and seeing so many different animals was awesome! I highly recommend the trip!

This is the most fun thing about Alaska. What a great ride. The views of Alaska from the train are simply beautiful. The guides on the train are very good about explaining what you are seeing. Please spend the extra money if you can, and ride the GoldStar Dome. The seats are comfortable, the meal in the dining car is excellent and the whole atmosphere in the dome car is just fun!

If you are cruising in/out of Seward and Anchorage, I highly recommend taking this train. Convenient boarding. Staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Pointing out history of places, spotting wildlife all while serving/cooking for entire car. It is longer than the bus ride but well worth it for the amazing scenery. Get the chowder in the bread bowl.

We rode both the Adventure Class train and the GoldStar Dome. Both are great, and provide better scenery and photo options than the motorcoach which travels the highway (which is still better than driving by the way). GoldStar is best for picture taking because they have an area where you are literally outside, hence no window glare.

We rode the train from Anchorage, to Denali, back to Anchorage and the to Seward. We chose the gold star seating. Great views. Comfortable seats. Friendly service all the way around. Food service is a little slow, but, you have plenty of time. Food was good. Certainly not gourmet food, but, very exceptable. Baggage service was great. Efficient. Minimal paperwork/hassles. They even took care of getting our bags from the train in Seward to our cruise ship. I was concerned that the seven hour ride between Anchorage and Denali would be boring. But, it was anything but boring. Great scenery. The ride from Anchorage to Seward was exceptional. Amazing views. Up over a mountain pass. Close views of a glacier. Highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Take the train every chance you get. It is so much fun. Always beautiful scenery. Interesting narrative. It is a great way to experience Alaska.

My wife and our family had the privilege to take the Alaskan Railway from Anchorage to Seward on 7-7-23. Leading up to this venture to embark on our cruise the weather was quite rainy and windy. Thankfully that changed shortly after we were all seated and ready to go. Maybe a little divine intervention. From start to finish this train ride was one of the highlights of our venture. We were greeted by three very nice ladies at the ticket counter, the manager and to our surprise Dale Wade who is a VP with the railway. Once aboard we experienced a very informative and historical ride by our conductor Doug Dye. His real job is a school teacher but you could tell he had a passion to not only teach kids but travelers as well. Throughout this beautiful trip he managed to keep us all well fed and never lacking for a beverage. Thank you Alaskan Railway for making our Train ride one we will never forget. Alaska Train was the best way to travel. So relaxing and beautiful scenery. Good food too! Took so many photos from the deck.

Two employees stood out especially terribly: Bailey, who was very vocal about quitting her position at Alaska Train tomorrow (which speaks volumes about the working culture at this business on its own), and Daniel Fretwel who, together with another employee we unfortunately do not have the name of, attacked us after her screaming at us with swear words for taking images at the balcony. I work in the travel industry and have been fortunate to work with different governments and US states, but what is being done by the Alaska Train employees is a shame for the travel industry. The level of rudeness and disrespect was by far our worst service experience my group had on their trip — we are shocked by the (lack of) service we received and hope that Alaska Train will take better measures training their staff and providing a memorable experience - in a positive way - to the customers that come here to enjoy the Alaskan beauty.

The train between Anchorage and Seward was awesome. Spend the money on the Deluxe ticket as you can’t beat the dome viewing cars. Food and drinks were great for a train and the staff were super nice and very helpful. Narration of the views and landmarks were great too. There were even outside viewing decks for clearer pics. We got to see moose, beluga whales, bald eagles and more. Amazing views!

The views on the train ride were awesome. Lots of pictures opportunities and the commentary were on point. The train even slowed down to give us time to take more pics. Friendly staff. The bathroom is not the best, but it's there. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Comfortable large seating that also reclined. Great time.

This domed train ride was recommended to us by friends who had heard about it on social media. The ride was everything we expected, and we loved the experience. Our guide insightfully pointed out interesting details about the route, and the food was absolutely amazing! We rode longer than most other people, but the food was better than other (more expensive) restaurants we dined in Alaska. We drove a one-way rental car back down to be more economical, and this train ride was definitely worth the one-time splurge. Besides, trains are just plain cool :)

If you are planning a trip to Alaska. I would suggest you put this on your list of things to do. We did the "gold star" where you had a seat in one of the domed cars for the ride to Seward and back to Anchorage. This also included breakfast on the way down and dinner on the return trip. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable.

What an absolutely amazing adventure! I rode from Seward to Anchorage and took over 40 photos of picturesque scenic views! (Next is Anchorage to Denali and then, Denali to Fairbanks! I can't wait!) Add to that, I have limited mobility and I use a walker. Conductor Warren and supervisor Steve were incredibly kind and helpful for me! Their help and politeness throughout the journey was VERY appreciated!

If you’re ready to explore the interior of Alaska in all its beauty, this is the way to do it! We boarded the train in Seward bound for Anchorage and were not disappointed with our ride nor the view! Picturesque way to get around inside Alaska from May through September (as that is the timeframe in which it runs).

Beautiful scenery; wonderful train ride. Choose the Goldstar Dome for views of a lifetime. The staff is awesome and the conductor comes around to speak to everyone.

Crazy liberal school. I also found life changing, profound intellectuals teaching there. Walter Skya, Terrance Cole, Sherry Wall, E. Wilner to name a few, brilliant minds. The elementary education department in 2016 refused to allow me to graduate in their program because of “behavioral” differences. I may be a weird dude, I don’t know, but they are anti conservative for sure. This college is not for those in the humanities, but world renowned for engineering and sciences. I obviously went into a humanities program.

Worst set of schools in the entire United States They like to hold students hostage basically not giving them what they need to transfer to other schools outside of Alaska sadly the advisors don’t advise or advocate for students especially Native American students. My daughter was told she could take classes from all campuses and it would make one complete GPA but that was faulty information because that’s not what happened she ended up getting all As and her GPA should have been a 3.2… this was not the case… she ended up with a 2.9 at UAS…. 2.75 at UAA and 2.0 at UAF… non of these she can get into a better university with… and was told oh well if you spend $$$ we can over time get you where you want to be GPA wise… And was told by an advisor that “ Native students should just stay at native schools”

Constitution Hall-University of Alaska Fairbanks also known as Convention Hall was built in 1955 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. This is a cool historical building and a must see. Check it out!

Great campus. Has a lot of cool trails behind the dorms. The woods center has some pretty good food to.

They have a great Emergency Management Program and I love how involved the professors are with their students. They really want you to do well. The cost is reasonable. I have to take extra classes to graduate (as a transfer student) but no regrets here. Also, there is great scholarship opportunities here.

Good for the right programs, I guess. If engineering or the natural sciences are your jam, you might try this university, because that's where the money and attention are going. Excellent French program and some good art courses, but some of the programs feel weak or neglected, and overall the classes are extremely hit or miss. I've taken some truly underwhelming courses here and am looking forward to finishing my degree (not in engineering or natural sciences) someplace else. All that said, it's generally a friendly campus that attracts an interesting mix of people. While many of the older buildings are ugly, the campus itself can be really pretty, and the shuttle between the parking lots, upper campus, and lower campus is a welcome support in the cold dark of winter.

Not very amazing. The campus is built on a hill, so getting around is pretty grating, and everything is spaced out so dully. It's a bit of a pain to get everything set up, seeing as how you have to use not one--not two--not even three--but essentially four websites to get up and moving at this university. Fees are handled as a joke, too. For example: You didn't fill out some seminar that you might have, just possibly could have gotten a spam email about? Gotta pay $100 or you'll be dropped from all your classes with nothing but a day's notice. Tough luck, right? Don't even get me started on the controversies surrounding this place recently. Title IX is NOT held up here, and serious sexual assault issues never get properly resolved. Being completely honest, it's not very safe here. Despite the shortcomings, the overall atmosphere of UAF can be soothe at times, whenever you decide to sit down somewhere between classes, but as far as universities go, you're better off elsewhere. I'd suggest you absolutely use the Study Abroad support this place has if you get roped into being a student here.

Easy to find where you need to be. Good parking. Good signage. Beautiful campus and friendly community atmosphere.

They have rental boats, people bring their boats as well. There is an island you can boat out to and camp. Its a great place to chill with friends and family.

Nice campground with some rather spacious sites. The sites are set up in the trees, so it feels like a forrested campground away from everything until a plane flies low overhead as it lands at the nearby airport. You can hear some road noise, but it didn't seem excessive. Access to the river, a nature trail, some bike paths and a swingset. Very close to town (even had a pizza delivered to our site) for essentials, yet has a very natural setting complete with firepit and picnic table. Sites are not reservable, so we paid $20 for a site with no hook ups the first night and then moved to a site with water and electric the next day for $30 per night. A dump station is also available for $10.

Good campsite. Fair prices. Wifi worked until 11pm and then didn't work the rest of time even as we left. Works best near washrooms when working. Disappointing since we are not local and didn't have a data plan and needed it to research what we were going to do in the area. Site was ok. All sites were full. Random couch in site and picnic table was a bit dirty. We didn't use a power site. No showers close by. Lots of washrooms. Good bike riding for kids. No playground. Kids had fun. I'm going to assume the internet broke for the night. If this wasn't a regular thing would definitely stay again. All other local rv parks were shoe boxes in comparison to the space we got here and shade and trees. So that was nice. Near airstrip so a bit noisy but anywhere near there is

I was here today and they habe now closed camping in this park. Park opens at 7 AM and closes at 1100.

The campgrounds are nice and the price is very affordable, I wish that they had a noise curfew however. We had planned for a 3 night stay at the campgrounds but halfway through the first night we were constantly awakened by the loud noises of a number of the nearby campers. Around 1:30am we packed it all up and left for a hotel instead, so much for a relaxing weekend of camping with the family. Other than that the grounds were great; clean sites, well cleaned and maintained restroom facilities. I won't be staying here again unfortunately the noise was just too much for us to handle.

Not a clean campsite at all, we arrived at 8:30 pm pulled into sight, paid right away then went to set up. The fire pit and surrounding areas of the sight we loaded with trash liquor bottles beer cans and further more over 4 dozen cigarette butts everywhere. The worst thing however was finding a drug needle. So all I am going to say is the host of that campsite isn't doing his job of maintaining the campsite or the park management isn't really managing this Fairbanks campground to well. I don't have children but I do have a dog that walks around and could step all over broken glass and a needle. Luckily there was a broken rake around for me to spend my first hour of being at this campsite cleaning it up before I could actually sit and relax. Campsite # 56. Dates 8/8/19- 8/9/19. Not a good rating from us. Quite annoyed really that we paid for 2 days from the start. We had been at previous state campgrounds that were immaculately clean. A full 5 stars for the finger lakes hosts.

At first we thought this place was great, a little noisy from the highway but the campsites were big and spaced far apart. Then when walking the dogs, we started noticing the people hanging around. At first it was in the day use area but later they would drive into an empty campsite and sit in the car for awhile and then leave. Doesn't make you want to be walking around alone. a police car cruised through once but I wish they would come more often. Something going on here, probably drugs.

This was a great group experience. Our guide knew SO much about reindeer and musk ox. We really thought it was an excellent side excursion in Fairbanks. We didn’t need a reservation, just show up at a tour time. Very laid back.

Fun place to visit near Fairbanks. Lots of animals, and knowledgeable staff who guide visitors through the research centre. Interesting place!

Such a cool place to visit! The kids love it and her talking about the muskox and bison.. Riding our bicycles here, we got a little lost, and the hills are daunting. That said, this place is cute and the tour would've been nice, but we got there too late.

The tour was very informative! We learned a lot and enjoyed seeing the animals. This isn't a petting zoo and rightfully so. These animals are in a place to thrive. It is a great cause! The muskox skull was much more heavy than I imagined. Also to see their nasal conchae and the their other adaptations is super interesting.

Go on a cold or rainy day in the summer...reason being is muskox don't like the heat. So if you go on a nice sunny day, they will be hiding in the trees. Andrew was our tour guide and had amazing info. The tour I'd guess was about an hour long with short walks (on rocky path which is doable for any age) from one fenced area to another. Super good knowledge. Highly recommend the tour.

Great tour! Very informative. Toothless and Dragon (baby Musk oxen) are adorable.

Lucky to get to this place before closed for season. They had a local event. Normally pay is $10 but even provided entrance with three items for their local shelter. Pretty packed with kids that day. So made it a little unenjoyable with a big crowd for small area. Nice to learn a little bit about the local wildlife and chance to see them close.

This was a good place to put your eyes on musk ox and caribou. They offer a tour that had good ratings for a small fee although we did not take the tour because of time.

A very nice place with some coin shops in it. They had a Euro store which I thought was really cool. I was able to purchase some matzipan candy bars. The proprietor was very nice and we had a great conversation.

I love love love history and the free small walk through museums were nice. I love that they had art from local artists as well. The lady who works at the dog mushing museum needs a raise hahaha. I would definitely come back. The cafe downstairs has tea and coffee that is BETTER than any chain coffee store (STARBUCKS/Coffee or tea/ Dunkin donuts/ 🤮) I loved my london fog early grey and tuna melt. I love that there's a cool knife shop, and a European store for groceries. I love it!!!

What a quaint and fun place to visit. Lots of eclectic stores to see. They are closed on Sundays..

Great shipping in downtown Fairbanks, also great food and coffee! Be sure to check out the Gold Rush and Iditarod museums!! Easy parking too! This is somewhere is definitely visit again and recommend to others. It's really a place the whole family can enjoy!

The Co-Op is looking a little spiffier these days (post covid). Upstairs check out the free museum and monthly changing art display-- also on First Fridays! On street level are numerous little shops featuring art and gift ideas, a renown knife shop, crafts, clothing, and jewelry. The Moldovan restaurant expanded and is thriving and visitors were milling about. Please check out the large display featuring Alaskan foster kids who really want to be adopted, their hopes and dreams for their forever families.

Really cool spot with hidden gems throughout.

Soba is a great place for hot soup and tea. The servings are huge. Now there is a delightful bodega that sells European teas and candies & canned meats. The art gallery is delightful and is host to local talents in many media

You can see the northern lights very good!! Only problem is very crowded!! A lots of people and cars lights is a big issue!!!

This location is superior to Cleary Summit and is a hidden gem. Those who rated it poorly may have encountered the parking area not plowed. If the DOT or nearby landowner doesn't plow it, then it may be difficult. In this location there are fewer or no other cars, no streetlights, no tourists, and fewer to no bushes and trees in the way. I always go here when I say I am headed to Cleary. Cleary Summit is an unfortunate zoo with too many tall trees, obnoxious people, and lights.

Dangerous with accumulated snow. Drive safely. View is nice.

Definitely a better spot to see than the dome because there's no trees in the way, but there's nowhere to park so it's not exactly safe to stop here, unfortunately.

So many beautiful gardens, it's really cool to see all the different varieties that grow here! I also like seeing what does well here to help inspire me on what to plant in my own garden. Love the pollinator signs too, lots of pollinators on the flowers, it's so nice to see so many busy bees!

Such amazing and beautiful gardens! I've been to Fairbanks several times and didn't know this was here! Great place o walk around and enjoy such a beautiful day! There is even a children's area with a maze (stay with your group!) and a place for kids to get wet (be prepared!).

Beautiful gardens with most paths easy to walk on. Many of the plants are marked as to what they are. Many signs throughout explains certain plants or the importance of bees as pollinators. Restrooms ((porta potties) available. Admission is a suggested $7 donation. Part of the garden is designed for kids.

Full of beauty with ponds, trellises, arch ways, flowers, bridges, including a moving one and a rose maze you can try your luck on! You won't regret taking time out of your day for it!

I visited this wonderful garden during my last day of my Alaska vacation and it was definitely one of my favorite places in Fairbanks. The grounds were beautifully maintained with a surprising variety of plants. I especially enjoyed getting lost in the maze.

One of my favorite places in all of Fairbanks. Several areas can be rented for small events, and you can't beat the views of the peonies and other blooms in July. Entrance cost is by donation, and there are plenty of benches and tables to sit and enjoy.

The variety of plant life is amazing. I wish some of the water features were running. I'll just have to come back when they do.

A lovely afternoon stroll. Very peaceful, great for couples and families. Wonderful to see native Alaska plants, fruits and vegetables (including Alaska's famous giant cabbage), and active research plots used by the plant scientists at University of Alaska.
