Had a good experience 😌. If you want to go to enjoy properly. Reach the museum at 3:50 Pm. The ticket counter closes at 4:00 PM. Get tickets and go inside. Explore everything in 1 hour. And also get a light and show ticket of 1st show. Book that show tickets online. And enjoy it and listen the veergatha for 1 hour. 5 to 6 pm in the evening.

This place holds the remembrance of the struggle, freedom fighters went through. The light and sound show was amazing, we got goosebumps throughout. It was beautiful and very well directed, showcasing the history of cellular jail and Andaman. If you are at Port Blair, this place should be at the top of your list. Do visit here and enjoy the park while waiting for the show to start

This place has great historical significance for India and the jail premises have been well-maintained. I visited on a weekday and it was still pretty crowded. Most of the tourists here are Indians. Don't be surprised to see tourists take prop selfies by locking themselves inside the prisons which once incarcerated freedom fighters. While a lot of modernization has been done, it could do better. Toilets need to be maintained better. Audio guides need to be introduced for places with historical significance.

Historic place. Also taking a guide will help a lot. The guides there charge a nominal fee but it will be worth it. The national monument takes you back to daunting and dark phase of our history. The stories we hear is so scary and sends chill. The light and sound show in the evening is pretty ordinary and honestly we thought it can skipped.

Visited the Light and Sound Show. The setup is very good, gives emense history of the Freedom fighters struggle and role in Freedom movement. The management is so organized from availability of tickets, entry and seating as per ticket number. The overall experience of visiting this Heritage monument is fulfilling. Great work from the management and organizers putting up the brilliant laser show, and must mention that the monument is preserved extremely well.. Good Architecture but felt very bad after knowing the sufferings of Indians. Don't even think of missing the light show. An spectacular light show I've ever seen in my lifetime. Prefer night show. Light show tickets can only be purchased via online. It would be usually sunny and make sure to wear hat, shades and keep a water bottle

A must must visit for all Indians who want to pay respect for all the Martyrs of Indian freedom struggle and also who spent most precious years of their lives for the freedom movement. The island was named after Daniel Ross, a British marine surveyor. In pre-independence India, this island was a British colony where administrative activities were at a peak. It was called Paris of the East’ and even now you can find the remnants of that colonial period. A tour in this island takes you down to road of nostalgia and also offers you an escape from the clutter of busy tourist locations in Andaman. The flora and fauna you witness in this island are amazing, and the population of peacocks, birds, and deers on the island will amaze you too. The variety of plant species on this island is also great. The ruins of a church, the cellular jail, a bakery, and several other buildings are there to be explored too. Now, the Indian Navy maintains the former British Administrative Headquarters and its numerous historic ruins. There is the Smritika Museum (Indian Navy) which is well maintained and the newest attraction for visitors is a sound and light show. It takes place every evening barring Wednesday and major holidays. From Port Blair, the majority of tourists prefer using boats to reach the island. It does not take much time and the boat ride is quite economical too. A number of tour operators offer a trip to this island from the Phoenix Bay Jetty or Aberdeen Jetty. The boat ride from Port Blair to Ross Island takes 10 to 15 minutes, approx. Current name of this island is Subhas Dweep.

A secluded island near Port Blair with many destructive structures and ruins from the past. Not much to see here but there were a lot of spotted deer roaming this place so one can also touch and play with them. The water surrounding this island is very beautiful and crystal clear. Old British colonial architecture ruins and a beach that's inaccessible after the 2005 tsunami. Though efforts have been made to make the Ferar beach accessible now. You can see the lighthouse afar from a point that was depicted in the old red 20 rupee note.

1 hour given by boats is not enough to cover this island with ease. Try to talk to the boat guy to allow you to spend more time and return in another boat if possible. Do this if you don't plan to visit North Bay for water sports which is better to do at Havelock or Neil anyways

Ross island is a great place to spend a day. You can walk with deers who freely roam around the island and see a large species of birds. The light house is also great. It is better to not take the golf cart as you will miss out on all the great historical places that come along the way. Ferry ticket is 370/head.

A must visit place if you are in Andaman. We saw multiple peacocks, Rabbits and deer roaming around. A boat ride can be arranged from Rajiv Gandhi water sports complex which should take around 400 rs per person for to and fro. You will be allowed to spend a couple of hours and then can come back in same boat. Battery operated Rickshaws are available on Island, Rickshaw wala will also tell you the stories about island.

There is not a lot of things to see on this island. But view from here is breathtaking. Deers , rabbits and peacocks runs around freely in this island.

Ross 🏝Island, fondly called it the "Paris of the East".This place was once under the administrative headquarters for the British. This island was destroyed and damaged twice, first by earthquake and later by tsunami. Many buildings are consumed by the trees of the island. Can see free roaming spotted deer, many Bulbul, Bakery from the British Era. Old harbour and light House🏠. Light House is at the Northern end of the🍃💦 island on an offshoot rock, constructed in 1977.The photo voltaic panels were introduced for the first time in India to charge the batteries for the operation of light.

We took a boat journey which covered Ross island and North Bay island. The boat drops you at Ross island and lets you explore for 1.5 hours. You can walk and explore the island, and there are battery operated cars as well which charges 80 rs per head to pick you up and drop. There are abandoned old buildings from the British era, such as barracks, bakeries etc. At the end you can walk up to the abandoned lighthouse as well. Lots of deer and peacocks around. It was an okay experience.

Never seen such a beautiful Island. Andaman is blessed with one of the best Islands of India. The place will take you through the past. The buildings says its too old. You can feel History of British people here. This place will remind you how powerful is time. A must visit place in your lifetime. But take your time here. The boatmen are only taking you here for money they will only give you 1 hour to visit this place but this place deserves more than 3 hour to feel the oldness of this place. A nice place to visit. Just s 5 min boat ride from rajiv Gandhi water sports Complex to this island. But nowadays they want us to cover the whole island in 1 hour and it's very difficult. They don't allow us to trek and explore the place. We need to take the electric vehicle from inside which they were forcing us and was just for their business. But the place is really good to explore with deers, peacocks. The old buildings are completely covered with roots of trees and you get a different feel there. Walking through the bridge to the light house is also exciting

This is the one of the best attraction nearby Port Blair. You can reach here by boats from Marina Park jetty.It gives you a private island vibe. The moment you land, you will notice a valley of coconut trees along with a large number of deers just roaming around. You would feel like spending most of your time there. However, the best point of the island (the lighthouse tower) lies at the opposite end of the island. You can trek there if you have the stamina and time.It will take approx 30 min by foot uphill. Otherwise you can take the ride car.They will also give you some history lesson of the place. You will have to walk about 50-70 stairs for the lighthouse. But the view is worth it. The photos and videos on the bridge are truly insta worthy.Dont forget to try the kulphi ice cream on your way.

A must visit with two main activities: during the day (till 2.00 pm) one can book a golf car (₹80 per head) to roam around a island with a tour guide. There are mainly historical remains from british rule. The light house is most famous viewpoint. Deers freely roam around the island. In the evening, they conduct a light & sound show.

This is the most commonly used cruise services to travel between the islands of Andaman. The well designed interior and low ticket cost(compared to others) attracts a lot of tourists. Advantage : 1. The view and the wall glass are very clear. 2. The payable food facility is good. Negatives : 1. The seat got changed at the time of cruise time. It does not remains the same as mentioned / selected during the booking. 2. The attitude of the representatives at the island are worst.

The boat ride from Havelock to Neil islands was like hell. The AC was not working and even after repeated requests there was no one from the team coming to repair it. The customers were left stranded, especially kids and elders who were feeling suffocated and nauseous. When asked to bring the technician, he did not come. When asked for his superior, the Chief Engineer came and said he was not authorised to handle such complaints. When asked to call the captain, he purposely did not come until the ship had to sail again and then he gave a warning that if we don't get off he will get us off forcefully. This is extremely bad behaviour with no consideration for the customers. More surprising was that they made other customers boars the ship for the next trip even though they knew that the AC was not working. I guess the captain (not naming to protect his identity) and his chief engineer at Makruzz just enjoy putting people in their suffocating ships! Pathetic behaviour of the team and no help provided by the management. Enter at your own risk! The team on board wasn't ready to take our complaint since as per them they weren't authorised. The team on ground didn't know what to do with the complaint. Highly mismanaged! P.S.: Images of the chief engineer running away when he got to know we were taking pictures.

I recently had the opportunity to travel with Makruzz on my journey from Port Blair to Havelock Island and back from Neil Island to Port Blair. The seating was comfortable, which I appreciated during the transit. However, my experience was marred by the presence of cockroaches onboard, which raised concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene maintained by the ferry service. Additionally, I was taken aback by the exorbitant prices charged for food and beverages. A Thums Up, usually priced at ₹40, was being sold for ₹100, and a KitKat, marked at ₹20, was available for ₹50. This significant markup on MRP is not only unethical but also illegal as per Indian consumer laws. When I questioned the staff about this practice, their response was dismissive, suggesting that I should take it or leave it. This attitude towards customer service and the blatant disregard for legal pricing regulations has left me disappointed. While the journey itself was smooth, the ancillary services provided by Makruzz need substantial improvement. I hope that by bringing these issues to light, future travelers will have a more pleasant experience, and the company will take steps to address these concerns.

Travelling between Andaman islands by a Makruzz Ferry is very convenient. Makruzz is the first private ferry company to start ferry services for tourism in Andaman island and has largest and long serving fleet of ferry. Over the years it has established itself for timely departure and schedule performance with the multiple ferry they operate. There isn’t an open deck. The seats inside Makruzz Ferry have windows which give you a clear view of the water outside 3 seating options are available there : Premium, Deluxe and Royal Royal is on the upper deck of the ferry with best and is the most luxurious class with big window with only 8 seats making it a exclusive class. Deluxe and Premium are lower deck of the ferry and also has window for outside view. Deluxe in on the front and Premium is on the back. Makruzz is a high speed ferry, all the passenger seating area and classes are fully air conditioned multi media and entertainment system all the seats are modern and provide maximum comfort with onboard cafeteria. It was a pleasant travel from Neil island to havlock island , that we undertook .

We travelled from port Blair to swaraj dweep...the cruise was initially late ...but overall a good experience on board...but they need to improve on their boarding announcements...there was a huge crowd waiting...and suddenly they announced that its a last and final boarding call ..there was never earlier calls...and when we confronted them , they didnt have a clue either...this is very bad professionalism...when a ticket has been taken , its the prime responsibility of the service provider to keep passengers informed ....they need to improve on this and equip their staff to all these informations to be relayed...but once inside it was fun all around ..the small eatery with cup noodles , samosa , tea , coffee etc...was good...managed by the staff well..on return the cruise was in choppy water , against the natural wave flow...hence lot of people became sick , but their staff ensured proper care of everyone....

Was worried of delays, loud music and seasickness as mentioned in some reviews but everything was perfect. On time from Port Blair to Havelock and to Neil, music was good and moderate volume and it was a smooth sailing. Food options were also good as we were on board at lunch time.

If you are fond of casual beaches with lots of people and snacks and some water sports activities this is your place. Though taking a bath especially with the kids is not considered as safe here . But anyway you should visit this place . There are a few snacks options are also there . You would also get to see some old Japanese bunkers and on a lighter note the selfie loving generation of ours can also offer you a live show of how the Britishers must have celebrated after capturing those bunkers ( a little bit of imagination needed ). People must understand the significance of these historical bunkers.

Went for the sunrise. You need to book a cab or auto for the sunrise view as transportation is an issue at Port Blair. But safe to take an auto or cab. The best sunrise view. The stunning hue of the sun peeked at us at 4.56 a.m. It was a spectacular view.

The beach is full of water sports. The water sports include jet ski, speed boat. boating . The water boat ride makes you to travel to a nearby island which is full of dangerous snakes so the government had stopped the tourist to get into the island. But you can get a view near to that island. Here water sports starts from around 2500 to 5000 also. The park gets closed around 6pm in the evening before the sum sets out .

Mini sized but quite beautiful… the display of pure white fine sand just lures the way. As soon as the sand touches with ur feet the experience is next level. The sand is perfectly suitable for beach volleyball and other related sports. Jet ski ride … para sailing and similar water activities are available here. The beach is highly recommended!!

Nice beach, but does not seem to be maintained. It has water activities and one enjoy the waves. The waves are not very strong. The beach is shallow, kids enjoyed swimming in the ocean. There are few shops available for snacks. The beach has bus service, costs around 30 Rs per person. Also one could catch an auto approx Rs 100 for cheaper rides than cabs which charge around Rs 300 for each point. There also one Japanese bunker located at this beach. The government should try to maintain such historic landmarks.

Fantastic scenic beauty. If you just move from one end to other you can see beautiful scenarios which is not available in mainland. Don't take bath here. It seems that sand is very rough here (my experience may vary with others). A huge no of coconut trees, can also take a sun bath.

This beach is very beautiful & we went there in the afternoon. This beach is very congested because many water activities held here. We had parasailing 🪂 there. Staffs are also well behaviour. There are many shops like food, dress, hat ,jewellery. You can spend afternoon by sitting here quietly.

The beach can get crowded during peak tourist seasons, which may detract from the tranquility it offers. I visited Corbyn's Cove Beach recently and had a mixed experience. The beach itself is well-maintained and clean, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, the water's lack of clarity and strong tides make it unsuitable for swimming. Despite offering various water activities like jet skiing, I found them to be overpriced and not worth the cost. One of the highlights was the incredible climate, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. I appreciated the fact that it wasn't overly crowded during my visit, allowing us to unwind peacefully. The well-maintained bathrooms were certainly a plus. Overall, Simple Beach is a decent place to spend about half an hour for relaxation, but keep in mind that swimming might not be an option due to the water conditions. Also, it's worth noting that drone flying is restricted at the location.

This beach is the only developed sea beach in the Port Blair city area. Because of the cove-like shape the name is cove beach. This beach can be reached by road from the city. This beach is also open for swimming. Corbyn's cove beach has a long coastline and many Japanese bunkers on its side. There is a watchtower and beach chairs are maintained by the Port Blair municipal council. There are many water sports activities to be done in Corbyn's cove including Jet Ski and speed boat rides. The best thing to do here is Parasailing and SeaKart. You may prefer to eat in the waves restaurant run by the tourism department. There is a 3-star hotel named Peerless resort which serves very nice seafood. Also the sea side food stall's sea foods are good in taste. It's a good evening place to hang out with family and friends, plenty of street food options available both veg and non veg. Corbyn's Cove beach- the coconut-palm fringed beach is ideal for swimming and sun-basking. This is one of the most occupied beaches in Andamans. So it is a must visit place to visit especially in the evening.

One of the nearest beaches to Veer Savarkar Airport. It is not very crowded. One can enjoy sea waves. One can do water activities such as Jet ski rides here. And if you are interested and a good swimmer you can also have fun by diving as this beach is not very deep . For Nature lovers I recommend that they must visit the beach in the morning to see the beautiful sunrise. You'll love it. And don't forget to enjoy the very fresh coconut water.

Local beach right in the city. Good to spend the evening at. Lot of water sport activities available if you want to try. It is crowded compared to the other beaches in Andaman. But I won't complain a lot this has its own happening vibe The water is also decent if you want just wet your feet or have a dip if you don't mind the crowd.

It's a very nice & clean beach in Portblair.There are many rides also like speed boating,water skiing.There are many stalls like hand crafts & foods.From Portblair to this beach there are many autos & private cars.Over all its a very safe place & enjoyable too❤️

It's a commercial beach where they conduct water activities like jet skiing, parasailing, boating etc. So not super clean as such, but it becomes cleaner and prettier during high tide and as you walk deeper from the road. Has a nice breeze and there are shops selling knickknacks and snacks.

Its a fab place for tourism and water sports. A few Japanese bunkers are still present here. A few of them washed onto the shore, but nit broken. Much water sports activities happen here. Any food and souvinier stalls available. Can walk on the beach and many shells. Can chill here too.

The water is so Sandy and not clean.. As compared to the nearby islands Crystal Clear water.. You can't Bathe in this water... it's Good for clicking pictures only 📸

It's a sunrise beach actually but people visit it throughout the day till sunset. The sunset view behind the beach is also beautiful at the beach (pic attached). There are few souvenir stalls (fair price, do check all the stalls for price), snacking options at the beach side and water activities like jet skiing, parasailing, boat ride, etc. If you are visiting other Islands/beaches try water activities there for clearer waters and avoid at Corbyn's Cove. This Beach is only place in Port Blair which allows you to take bath at beach side, paid shower and changing room is there which is very nominal and it was clean Too. their racks are rusted so take care of it. Rest you can find their coconut water vendors, Maggi, Water bottles and every shop have stools and chair to sit. Best time to visit place is after 2pm and you can spend here 3-4 hours. Sports activities were also there. Family boat ride, jet ski.

This place is very beautiful in the evening. Must visit this place if you are in port Blair. A walking Plaza is there and is about 1.8km. This area is very scenic but polluted by city filth. Water sports are too available. Small stall are there for eats and shopping.

Where we can have good water activities like scuba, snorkelling, see walk, semi-submarine ride, glass bottom ferry, para sailing....but I don't refer para sailing here...its costly(3000) and you wont get good experience ...better to experience it in Goa. Best place for scuba and snorkelling. Guides compels to go for see walking since it gives profits for them. For me scuba driving is the best place we can find in India...with clean waters...

During our honeymoon trip we went to this island. This is very popular for water sports activities. I have experienced a scuba drive over there. There are lots of other water sports activities available over there. The water is very clean and clear. You can see the underwater beauty.

This place is located near Port Blair and very famous for underwater activities. You can go there by taking a boat from the water sports complex at Port Blair. There are three options. You can only visit the north bay, you can only visit Ross Island and the last and most popular, take a boat for Ross Island and North Bay round trip. There is no place to stay there so you have to return by the day. There is a light house and you can enjoy a beautiful view from North Bay Island but this island is actually popular for underwater activities like snorkeling, scuba driving, kayaking, glass bottom kayak, sea walk and many more. Sea walks are very popular there and our experience of sea walks was amazing. But the activity in which we had enjoyed the most was the glass bottom kayak. It was fascinating to see the different kinds of beautiful corals inside the water not getting into the water. The view was crystal clear and it was not a bit stressful. So I suggest everyone should try that one. There are small restaurants almost all of them serve Bengali cuisine. The place should be more clean and there should be a good washroom facility specially for women. The changing room was not good. So I feel this place needs some improvement.

We have to take a ferry ride from port Blair to reach this island.all the activities from scuba to glass boat rides are available here.our ferry driver said that this is the island that is printed on the back side of 20 rupees note.the only con of this island is cleanliness and the hotels available in this islands are not at all hygiene but you won't be having any options and end up having luch here

Northbay island is located near Port Blair. North Bay is a secluded island which spans over a relatively medium area and is generally visited by tourists on a day trip to both Ross Island and North Bay. The island doesn’t offer much sightseeing options for visitors other than the shoreline and jungle, it is one of the best places for Water Sports in Andaman Islands. ‍I really love the place mostly the view from light house. it's a dreaming place.you will get lost in the sight.One of the most interesting things about North Bay is that it is featured on the backside of Indian Rs. 20 note. Although, the reason has yet to be discovered for that, we suspect they did the like the view from the top of the hill. The hill from where it was taken can only be reached by trekking from the forest, but you may visit if you'd like a pic of your own.

It's good for sports activities. But if you are visiting elephant beach, havalock and Neil Island then no need to visit this. You can skip it. Neil Island best for scuba diving and other activities.

This place has one light house which one can see. Besides there are some water activities. It's a bit crowdy! One can ride glass bottom dolphin to se underwater coral. There is a submarine ride also. But it's scenic beauty is not much as compared to Ross island which usually visit while visiting this place!

Here tourist came for only water activity. These activities is available on weather conditions . If wind blowing fast then you can do limited activity like scuba diving .

Every activity was good except the Semi submarine activity, That was the only on expected more but got disappointed because of the glasses, glassed are too blurry nothing we can see inside the water. Other than that sea walking, Snorkeling are very good and the supervisors and guides were guided very kindly.

Its a small island especially to do various water activities to watch marine life and beautiful corals. You can do scuba, sea walk, snorkeling, semi submarine, dolphin boat etc. Everything is well managed by coordinators with time limits. You can go visit lighthouse too.

Water sport and under water activities are the main events. Under water is mostly watching coral life by snorkeling, scuba diving, sea walking and magnified transparent floors of boats. Water sports include para sailing and jet ski.

Just a calm place to sit and relax. There is no parking free or any other hidden charges. You can just go and sit and reflect yourselves. Evening was bit rush. Sunset was nice too. If you’re carrying any plastic materials with you please kindly try not to throw around.

A really perfect spot to watch the prettiest sunset ever. It's a tiny beach so it might feel a little crowded but the sunset there is worth it. Also the road journey upto the beach is also very exhilarating.

A blue beach that comes with a bonus, a trekking trail! The new rule states that you can trek from 10AM-3PM which is a bummer cause the sunset and sunrise from the hilltop is missed. Maintained well and just the right amount of snacks is served at the entrance. You’ll get your fair share of pretty seashells here (:

A very good sunset point, good beach and very nice birds and very cool place and very less crowd calm place. Can’t explain the sea water will go back after afternoon onwards and it will come back in the evening time it’s amazing to view the seen.

Getting there early in the evening will give you enough time to get a great spot to view the sunset. You can't get into the water much but you can play on the beach and there is a park of sorts with swings that can keep the children and adults entertained equally. there are benches in the shade or you could choose to sit on the beach under a tree if you get there early. It is a great choice for a relaxed/romantic evening. It is also great for taking pictures.

An amazing place to visit in Port Blair. It's a little bit far from Port Blair city. You can take a car to visit this place. It's a less crowded beach. The most suitable time to visit this beach is in the afternoon. Here you can relax a little bit and enjoy the sunset with your friends or family. Also there are few resorts for night stay near the beach.

Beautiful place to hangout. You have benches and swings on which u can sit and relax. There’s a 20min trek on which u can go. Would highly recommend y’all to visit this remote beach. Cheers guys!!

It's a remote beach and you can't enter the water because of the crocodile scare. There's a trekking trail as well but confirm the timings before going.

Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park is situated at South Andaman at Wandoor on bank of Indra crick 17-20 kms west of Port Blair. Its one hour journey by road from Port Blair. You have to travel over bumping road but it's scenic journey. State government transport is available to reach the place from Port Blair. The national park combined with multiple reserved islands where only one or two are open for visitors on extra cost per person. You can visit Jolly Bouy & Red Skin Islands from here as well. Obviously the Water is crystal clear here & you can found beautiful, scenic beaches all over. You can also enjoy marvelous marine life underwater. But be careful as Wandoor sea and its back water is dangerous to swim as surrounded by crocodiles. You can visit small Marine Enterpretation Center near the Jetty. Here you will get good information about Andaman marine life.

We visited this place for boarding the ferry foe jolly buoy island. And I must say, I'm whole of Andaman trip, jolly buoy visit was the highlight. It is such a beautiful island and the boat ride till here is also good. I will suggest people visiting Andaman to go to jolly buoy island and also do glass bottom ride there.

Nice place, nics atmosphere Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park is famous for being home to an exquisite coral reef, and colorful schools of fishes of every size and shape. Due to the absence of predatory fishes near the beaches and coral reefs, it is a safe place to go scuba diving. Happy visit 😊

An interpretation centre for marine life in Andamans. Must visit place for children and researchers. This place is free to visit.

You can skip this if you are visiting Neil or Havelock as there is nothing much to do at either Jolly Buoy or Red skin. The boat which takes you there isn't that great too but the charges are exorbitant. At the same price you will have a ship ride with Nautika or Markuzz which is way superior. In my opinion just avoid this if it is through the private operator. If you can avail govt. Boat service for the same (Rs. 150 only) then it is good one time spend . Usually the private cab guys will not tell you about this economical option. If you are with family better to skip and spend time and money at Havelock and Neil for the same. There is a small marine museum as well at the shore which is good to spend time for 10 mins. (No ticket required)

One can spend a lot of time depending on one's interest in marine life. The museum is centrally located and is accessible. There is a display of exhibits on lives of the natives and naval equipment. There is a showroom of the related products. A good place to spend quality time.

Its an amazing museum. The actual samples of sea life are very enchanting. The coral samples are out of this world. Various informative bits in the first section help to understand about the tribes and their culture. The audio-visual show is very helpful since it gives detailed information about what you get to see in the 5 different sections of the museum. At the entrance audio-guide is also available for a small payment.

A person visiting Port Blair a must place to understand the landscape and people of the place.

Rooms are allocated to explain the history of the islands, its corals, fish species, tribes etc. It is maintained by the Indian Navy. Takes you around 45 mins - 1hr at the museum. If you are visiting this on last day of your trip, you probably know almost all the things. Timing are from 9h to 17h and price of a ticket is INR 50.

you need 1 hour to visit the museum, separate room to provide you brief introduction about Marine lives like corals, fishes, tribes. 3-4 small separate rooms were there. like 1 for shells, 1for fish aquarium, 1 for corals and reefs. Small sagarika shop was there too. Do shopping from sagarika at middle point only as what I observed.

Small naval museum. Dedicated rooms for history , marine life, coral reefs and local tribes. There is one souvenir shop where you can buy local handicraft items but the cost is high as compared to the beach shops. Tickets to be bought at counter itself. For defence personal the ticket price is less.

Very good place with well maintained. Wheel chair is accessible. Photography is not allowed inside. A program about Andaman is always showing inside a Hall. Outside of this area i. e at the adjacent area some hawkers sells some gift items which are relatively lower cost than other areas of Andaman.

Love the fact that Port Blair has an actual anthropology museum but this has the potential to be so much better. More artifacts and interactive AI could add a new dimension to people wanting to know more. A guided tour by an actual local with native stories could add another layer of engagement. Add another layer by getting a good screening theatre room will be brilliant. But the fact that they have several tribal artifacts to showcase and a video detailing out the tribes is a great start. Visit only if you're interested in history and tribes of Andaman & Nicobar islands. It's not a very fancy museum but they have good information, videos, installations and pictures with stories of tribes of Andaman. You cannot take pictures of videos inside. They have a book store if you are interested in buying books by anthropological survey of India.

A nice museum. You have to buy tickets for Rs 20/- each. All about tribals of Andaman and nicobar. Tribals like the Nocobari, Jarawa. There are artifacts they used, which are displayed. Videography and photography is strictly forbidden.

This is a tourist attraction of Port Blare.Really amazing to see it.The local tribes, culture, tradition has been shown through various artifacts like their hut, dress, ornaments,jewellery, weapons and many more has been kept in the 3storied musume. Loved the place, though small it houses a variety of exhibits and provides insight into the tribals of Andaman & Nicobar islands, their way of life, culture and heritage. Well maintained museum which is very informative and good experience. Good for students and young children. The museum gives an insight into to the origin of the Andaman Islands, its inhabitants, their history, habits, environment and how they evolved over the years. The museum is small from inside but hosts very good collection.

Zonal Anthropological Museum displayed the tracing ,history & culture of the islands' tribal communities.This museum gives over all view and life styles of andaman and Nicobar tribes like Jarawa, Onges,Sentinelese, Shompens, great Andamanese and nikobarese.

Wonderful experience, if you are in Port Blair and have an hour you can visit this Museum. Camera is strictly prohibited inside. Excellent representation of life and culture of various tribes around Andaman and Nicobar Island with photos, descriptions and artifacts.

Lots of interesting objects but is very out-of-date, especially as they are showing films about the tribes from the 1970s. They still believe in race science here, it seems. I left with more questions than answers. The museum itself is a historic artifact.

A must visit museum of Port Blair if one is interested to know the anthropology of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There are so many things kept here including the wooden vessels used by the tribal islanders to venture in the sea. Their huts, ornaments, utensils are also visible in this museum. It gives a proper idea of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. On the top of a rock of Phoneix Bay, the view and ambiance of the museum attract the viewers. Avoid visiting museum on Monday. It remains closed that day.

Aust visit for every tourist visiting Andaman. It is not possible to meet the members of various tribes inhabiting Andaman and Nicobar islands, but we get a fair view of their way of life in this museum. They need to provide some basic guide books to the tourists to enhance their experience.

Started operating in 1883, the Chatham Saw Mill stands to be the oldest and largest Saw Mill operated in the country. The places is still operational, one can buy a ticket of Rs. 20/- and take entry and witness the operation of the Saw Mill which still runs with full capacity. The Saw Mill also houses a Forest Museum which showcases various wood crafts crafted by the mill staff. Few items are also available for sale which can be bought at a reasonable price. In there is also an important memorial which marks the arrival of first batch of penal prisoners to the Islands on 10th March 1858. This day is also called as " Andaman Day". So dont miss this historic place... It won't have the charm of a mall or liveliness of a beach but it is a true mark of history..!!

This is the oldest Saw Mill in India. It was used by the Japanese during WWII as a hideout and you can see their bunker here. Not a lot can be explored in the saw mill itself as it is still active, but you can see a working model in the forest museum.

It's the oldest Saw Mill still functioning as it use to be in the origin. its a good place to learn how the wood is converted from the trunk to sized and cut and segregated as per quality and types. stored and auctioned off as per the lots. the surprise was the entire structure was built with the wood. except the roofing. wooden columns are majestic.

Witnessed a huge shed with giant wooden columns. One also gets to see the wood working in person. They also sell souvenirs made of PADAUK wood.

This is a must visit place in port Blair. It shows the struggle our freedom fighters went through and much more. The entry fee was 20rs per person. A guide (Arvind if I remember clearly) walked us around the entire mill and explained everything so well. Had we not hired a guide, we would have not known the importance this place holds. There is a souvenir shop inside the mill. Happens to be one of the oldest mill. A mill with rich history. Highly recommend you to visit the place and hire a guide. It is worth it.

A currently running antique and historic saw mill on the Chatham Island. We got to visit the production house, the bomb blast site, the Japanese bunker and the post production finished items. This place is one of the oldest and symbolic places in Port Blair.

Chatham Sawmill is an antique sawmill that is located in Chatham Island, Port Blair. The mill was set up in 1883 by the British during their rule; the mill got its raw materials from the forests surrounding Chatham Island. The mill happens to be one of the oldest and largest in all of Asia. The British used a huge quantity of timber to produce various products for their use and exports. The Japanese destroyed this sawmill by bombing the island during World War II and invaded the islands controlled until 1945.

A place to visit in the city tour of Port Blair.. Chatham Saw Mill are Asia’s largest and oldest saw mill, It's located on Chatham Islands.. There is a modern museum in the compound of the Chatham Saw Mill complex and great collection of wood based work and carvings that take our breath away with the intricate designing which is done on it.. Museum shows all details about , why and how it was constructed, construction of bridge to connect the mill, damage done to mill during world war and various types of woods and its artifacts.. Nice little beach with a few shops and sunset views to the west of Port Blair. Sand is a bit rocky, but nice place to take a dip, grab a bit and enjoy the views.

It's one of the best sea beach of not only Andaman & Nicobar islands but India. The beach is located at approximately 25 kms. far from the Port Blair township. As the beach is at the Western side of the island, the view of the setting Sun is absolutely mesmerizing. The entry to the beach is absolutely free of cost and the parking fees is also nil. There is enough space for parking where you can easily park your vehicle safely. Few tea stalls are there which offers packed snacks like chips, biscuits and soft drinks too. This place is a must visit place for the tourist who has a real desperation to explore nature. But, always own conveyance for the journey is recommended.

Wandoor beach is a really beautiful place to visit for a sunset. It's a little far from the Airport but the drive is worth it. The island is all covered in Greenery and wildlife. It's a must visit location for families and couples. You can enjoy the real essence of Island which is nature and not a City for sure. I would recommend to carry some of your favorite snacks as they have limited food items here.

Such a beautiful and clean beach! The colors are mesmerising. You can find your own cozy nook for watching the sunset or just gazing at the infinite ocean. There are a few vendors selling Coconut water and other trinkets, but nothing over the top. Parking is available easily. Go prepared with your picnic basket to enjoy the peace and calm. They have boards and local who say crocodiles have been spotted in the water so swim at your own risk. The water is tempting though!

we saw amazing sunset at wandoor beach on our last day of trip. we took 2 wheeler on rent to drive here and the experience was awesome

Just 30 mins from Port Blair, this place is for weekend afternoons. Calm and serene beach with views of nearby small islands. Due to increase in crocodile sighting on this beach, swimming is strictly prohibited.

A Hygienic and Well maintained Beach. Located in Port Blair. The beach is nice and clean. Shops are there for buying snakes and small stuff. Parking space is available. State transport buses are available frequently Swimming here is prohibited because of the crocodile fear. Not advised to go deep in the water. Chairs are fitted in several places. A nice Photogenic location.

This beach is almost 25km away from the main city. Once this beach was famous for crocodiles and turtles, still crocodile catcher is there in case of if any. There are small stalls which sells Jaal Muri, Juices, fruit salad, lemonade, egg dishes, coconut water, juices, maggi, biryani, rolls, momos, alot of other items. Plenty of benches to sit and everything is so neat and clean. Police officers and range officers are always present in case if any emergency occurs. This beach has clean and calming vibe. It is a must visit tourist place. And small shops for buying beach stuffs as well.

Such a beautiful place. The coconut water is amazing. The sea is not too rough, great for a dip 💓 not very crowded on weekdays. A great picnic spot for families too.

Good secluded beach. It is also relatively neat and clean. The sunset views are awesome here.

Perfect beach for a walk, talk and a dip. - The beach is stunning with white sands. - You can walk for atleast a kilometre to the north, but there are a lot of shells on the sand, so if you have soft feet, i'd advise to wear chappals. - Do try the coconuts. They're mostly removed from the tree on the same day and taste absolutely soothing. Much better than the ones you get in mainland india. - You can see those tall trees, which you'll see again and again in andaman. - Perfect place for sunset silhouettes as well, if you have your own vehicle to return home. - you can also take a bus from port blair bus stand. But note the last bus leaves at around 5pm, i think. Please confirm the bus timings with local. - There are also a few stalls selling accesories such as straw hats and shells. - Public toilet is located just before the beach's parking area. Using it costs 10 rupees. My visit was on 15 April 2023.

If you are a marine life lover, if you like or see sea fish activity you must visit here once. It is a museum and of great knowledge. It is just opposite to Cellular jail gate and go down with stairs. Entry fee is nominal Rs.10/-. No camera is allowed here.

Marine aquarium is located near to the Aberdeen jetty at a Walkable distance. Tickets @ 10 per person. You may have to pay extra money to take photos thru phone camera or a digital camera. In front of the aquarium, there is askeleton of sperm whale. Inside you can see a great varieties of corals that you see and probably identify if you have done scuba diving at andaman. There are also different kind of fish (live and preserved) ones kept as exhibits. Overall a good place to take some photos and a quick stop worth exploring. Recommended

It is okay. They have good collection of Coarals... It hardly take 30 to 40 mins. Be aware of guide they nicely take you and explain everything... Then they will ask you for money. It may be 50 to 100. Don't miss the whale bone outside the aquarium. If you have free time you can visit. If you skip also not an issue.

This aquarium is a must visit when you are in Port Blair. Even I was reluctant to visit but it was worth it. The credit goes to guide female Vinodini. Big shout out to her. Her explanation, guidance and behaviour made it all the way more interesting. Various forms of original and exotic species of fishes are kept there.

nice place for 1 time visit.. good for studious purpose... entertaining for little kids.. not so adventurous for adults. half an hour to one hour is quiet enough for visit.

Aquarium has both live fishes and preserved samples. Coral samples are also present. Although preserved samples are more in number and live fishes are on lower side. Groupers, scorpion fish, Tiger fish, parrot fish, rabbit fish are some of the live fishes present. Entry fee is Rs 10 per person. For camera additional Rs 50 to be paid.

Ticket price : 20 rs. If you want to click pictures inside : additional 50rs. Taking pictures inside isn't worth it, it's just like lab , you can see fishes, sea creatures dead inside jars. I don't recommend any traveller to waste time here, for sea life enthusiasts this place might be worth it.

As the part of my Andaman trip I have visited this place on 27.12. 2023 . The entry fee is rupees 20 per head. It took half an hour to see the things. They are maintaining the place clean and Neat. Photography and videography not allowed inside the place.

Museum has good collection of Andaman Coral and Fish species. Roughly takes half hour to visit this place. If one is interested to know history and info of all marine then should visit it. Entry is Rs 10.

One of the busiest and good jetty, phoenix Bay jetty is where one would have to go for availing cruise to Neil,havelock or little andamans. The jetty is clean and nicely maintained. However, the check in process and boarding needs improvement as it's a bit towards the unorganised side. And queues are not maintained properly, due to some insensitive passengers though. Overall, good place.

This is the place from where one can avail ferry service to Havelock and Niel Island famous tourists place. Earlier large passenger vessels used to embark at Phoenix Bay Jetty. Adjacently situated is Fisheries wharf also used for commuters between portblair and different Islands. Ships like M V Sentinel, M V Chowra etc ply between Port Blair and Southern group of Islands

There is long way to walk From the main gate to the boarding checking gate taking luggauges and there is no trolley for carrying luggauge. The management should allow cab service to parking area of the harbour and provide trolley at the main gate.

One of the main jetties of South Andaman. Connects Port Blair with neighbouring islands like Havelock and Neil. The queues for getting tickets can be very rough and tiring but of you reach early you can escape the rush of people coming to get the tickets. The jetty is neat and tidy and has good parking space and also a small park inside.

Port from where jetty to neil and havelock starts .before entering the port there is security check to verify the identity . In port there is no shelter or waiting room facility available and also no shops or hotel.

Place where u have to get the tickets to travel to other islands like Havelock and Neil..there are private as well as government ferry available..but only limited number of boats available.u have to plan your travel according to that timings..online booking available in private ferry.

The jetty in Port Blair is an immaculately maintained and breathtakingly beautiful location that is definitely worth a visit. Its stunning appearance is sure to leave you in awe, making it a must-see destination in the area.

This jetty is the main jetty of Phoenix bay. We went to Havelock island from this jetty by a cruise at 6.15 in the morning. Quiet spacious sitting area and so also the deck. Had an amazing experience through out the journey. The staffs were professional and the place was really clean.

Phoenix bay jetty This place is nearer to Cellular jail at Portblair in Andaman islands. This is the main place to travel towards Viper Island, North bay and Ross. Transportation service available from morning 9.00am onwards. From this jetty place one can see the Ross island and North bay coral island. These three places form the points of triangle. For travelling in these two islands indepently, the total travelling cost is INR 200 (only for transportation).

We travelled in Green Ocean from Port Blair to Havelock in Royal Class. We liked Green Ocean because of the freedom to walk around the open Deck. You can roam freely. Pros: Open Deck - you can walk around and enjoy the sea and stunning view outside. Cons Little bit longer travel time. But you won’t feel it because of open deck and DJ. Careful with one of the door in Royal Class. If you open the door and leave the handle then it will close fast as it’s missing hydraulic door closer.

We travelled in Makruzz, Nautica and Green Ocean and we had the best experience in Green Ocean. It cruises at slower speeds I assume compared to the other two, it was very comfortable. It may not be brand new and sparkling, but the ride quality was good, they arrived and left on time and luggage management was also good. The AC worked fine which wasn’t the case with the other two. Ferry rides can be tough when weather isn’t great, I would recommend to choose this over the other two.

Ferry timings were delayed by one hour both the time we travelled by green ocean.. ferry not maintained properly and a lot of cockroaches were there around the windows. Fans and AC were not working properly. I would suggest makruzz service is far better and ferry is also maintained well.

Very bad experience. They committed literal fraud with their passengers. Switched the cruise from green ocean 1 to green ocean 2 at no notice, with cheaper seats. Green ocean 1 has an open deck and is costlier, green ocean 2 is smaller. Also the interiors are old and dirty. Have a look yourself. Even though we had premium seats booked, they allotted us cheaper seats. On confrontation, ship staff said they don't know about this, they only manage the ship and that we should contact the office. I have sent an email requesting compensation. Will update how it goes. Update: After filing a consumer forum complaint, they refunded the difference. Please do file a complaint if their response is lackadaisical.

Took Green Ocean 1 ferry from Havelock to Neil .. Pros : Deck access is allowed once the ferry sets sail and one of the most amazing experiences Awesome Bollywood music played on the deck , dance along with everyone and enjoy the tasty snacks Cons : The actual cabin where you would spend maybe 20 mins in total isn’t that great .. gives the feel of general class of trains Overall great experience !!! Definitely plan to take this ferry once during your trip

Such an horrible management team. They're not professional at all. An incident happened with us on 25th November 2022. Our ferry was at 9:45am but due to G20 it departed at 8:15 am and we had no information about that. When inquired management said everybody had been informed about prior departure but there were around 40 people who didn't get any information. May be because net connectivity issue was there. But if ferry is departing early they should've arranged another ferry for passengers. We all 40 people went to police station then they arranged makruz around 2:00 pm. All the plan of Neil Island got disturbed due to this. Better option are there don't fall for OPEN DECK.

Travelled in green ocean 2 from neil island to port blair. Ticket was advance booked and seats confirmed. After boarding people.already sitting in our seats. And we did not get the seats we paid for. The crew is pathetic and was the reason for the customers fighting among themselves.They couldnt handle situation and do justice.Finally we had to compromise our seats. Complete tour mood was spoilt and kids scared. Honest customers treated badly.. Please try other cruise.

We had 3 rides in Green Ocean 2 Ferry. Port Blair -> Havelock ->Neil -> Port Blair in April 2024 We had a nice experience in ferry. Ferry trip was was good and memorable. We could dance to music in the lower area on the deck and the staff Sneha was awesome, very understanding and co -operative. Thanks Team😊 !!!

Disappointed.... Green ocean 2 Ferry is lot smaller. Staff is rude...Especially G. Sneha was impolite...made us switch seats couple of time..They seat allocation is worst...Despite booking tickets advance in month, they allocate seats in different sections.There were lots of family who were facing issues...Timing is not punctual...Macruzz is much better option.

We travelled in Green Ocean from Port Blair to Havelock. Pros: 1. You can walk freely on the deck. 2. There are even benches for you to sit on the deck. 2. You can dance to music in an area on the deck. Cons: 1. The seats are not comfortable. 2. The speed of the ferry is less as compared to other options available.

We enjoyed 3 rides on Green Ocean Ferry. PB->Havelock->Neil->PB in first week of March 2022. It was great experience. We had a fun time roaming around on deck and dancing to DJ on the deck. We had purchased economy class ticket. We were supposed to sit inside the cabin for 15 mins after departure and 15 mins before reaching the destination. Rest of the time we were out on deck. There is a cafe which serves some snacks/tea/coffee. Staff is co-operating. One of our friends' bag was exchanged with someone in the ferry. They arranged to send our bag to our resort after finding. It was found within an hour. Highly recommended.

Neat and Clean Place. Well Maintained. Lovely spot for viewing Sunset. Port Blair Airport's Runaway is clearly visible. Taking off and Landing of Flights can be seen. Good place for walking and jogging exercising. Amble spot to relax.

It's a very beautiful place. There is a lot of equipment for exercises. Also the view from this park is amazing. In the evening, you can see a clear sky along with the night view of Port Blair airport and city. Also there is a food stall outside the park. So you can easily spend your time in the park.

Reviewing based on visit dated 10th of February 2024 If you are visiting portblair then No one will show you this place. Must visit place in portblair because of photography restrictions people do not visit this place. If you are not found of photography then you must visit this place. spair 10 min and visit "Joggers park" area, this walking trail park situated at high level because of that you will get superb view of airport. Don't miss that Again photography is prohibited in joggers park too but people come and sit for hours to enjoy the view. Proper seating arrangement provided so the people can enjoy the view. I do recommend to visit this place during afternoon time because visibility is high.

Lovely picturesque! You can look into the Airport Tarmac , good place for morning walks and jogging. You can enjoy the light breeze and a stroll at the park then wrap it up with a hot tea at the end.

One of the most beautiful places in Port Blair, if you are an avgeek like me, you sure will like the Runway view of the Veer Savarkar International Airport. You can see the planes landing and taking off pretty clear. The wind blows cool here, which really feels nice considering the weather is hot in this part of country. Park is clean and nice and well maintained. Ample Parking Space is there to park vehicles. All in all, a must visit place in Port Blair.

This is a very tiny Island situated near to Port Blair and this place is accessible only by boat, which starts from marina park, port blair.. it is must visit for nature & History lovers. There is a lot to explore on the island and has tonnes of history associated with it..

Viper Island is easily accessible by a quick ferry ride from Port Blair. It's a Must-visit destination. We visited the site in 2019.

As the part of my Andaman trip, I have visited this place on 28.12.2024 along with my spouse and relatives. A small island having the memories of the earlier Jail system like hanging place , barracks and superintendent office etc . 45 minutes is enough to cover this place. Toilet facilities are available for male and female separately.

Not beach and island . Viper means to bring prisoners to hang here. Awesome place.best of couple. Food not available.
